Jumbled AU Character Information Time!
What’s the Jumbled AU? Another Roleswap except it’s less swap between two characters and more... Jumbled! Created for fun of course!
I ended up tweaking it all up a bit and I’m pretty happy with it now!
Meet The Crew:
FORZEN-
“No, I’m right there with you. Black Mesa is the worst.”
- Takes Gordon’s role as Team Leader
- Graduated from MIT and was recently hired by Black Mesa. He’s been there less than a year and he’s already regretting it.
- Gets stuck in a HEV Suit and would very much like out of it, thank you very much.
- Originally wanted time be a streamer but his mother talked him into going into Science like everyone else in the family did. Forzen and his family have a rocky relationship and this is one of the reasons why.
- Hates his job and is miserable but he does it anyways because he’s good at it and it makes him money.
- A lot smarter than he looks or acts.
- Very protective over his team and is quite the shot. Prides himself a little on his good aim.
- Carries around a ‘Lucky Bayblade’ wherever he goes. Insists it’s kept him safe as a kid and as long as he has it, he will make it through alright.
- Is a single father as his partner left as soon as the kid was born. Forzen is determined to be a good father because of this. His kid’s full name is Scythe Kronos (Yes, that’s all their first name) but Forzen also calls them Scye for short. Forzen will do anything to make it back to his kid. He doesn’t want them to end up orphaned.
- Loses his right eye in the betrayal. Without his depth perception, his aim is worse than ever and he struggles to protect his team.
- Gets a robotic eye from the Cybernetics Department later that gives him better aim than before.
TOMMY-
“Get- get out of my way or I’ll make you.”
- Takes the place of Benrey as inhuman antagonist.
- Is a Shapeshifting alien who takes the shape of a human to blend in for his mission. Has a lot of power but never got to properly learn how to use it as he was separated from his father when he was young.
- Sunkist is his alien pet who takes the shape of a golden retriever to do the same. She fights alongside him.
- Initially takes on Earthly Interests such as Beyblades, soda, and certain TV shows as a way to blend in but actually starts to like them.
- Takes on a job at Black Mesa as a security guard so that he can search for his dad. Doesn’t actually find him until the Resonance Cascade.
- Tampers with the experiment and causes the Resonance Cascade in order to lower Black Mesa’s defenses so he and his dad can make their escape.
- Makes a deal with the military that if he sells Forzen out, they’ll leave everyone else alone. However, the military double crosses Tommy once they realize that his dad is a valuable experiment to Black Mesa. Tommy is not happy about this.
- Eventually comes to the conclusion that his dad will never be safe as long as Black Mesa is around. Goes to Xen with the others, keeps his cover the entire time, and once they reach Xen’s power source, Tommy takes it for himself and tries to destroy Black Mesa and everyone in it.
- It’s all for family. Step aside or you’ll just get hurt.
GORDON-
“There’s absolutely no way that’s up to code... You guys seeing this?”
- Takes the place of Tommy as Main Support.
- Has worked for Black Mesa for a while now but isn’t entirely fond of it. He’s aware it’s morally gray at best (And that’s sugar coating it) but he can’t quit because he’s bound by contract to stay there for a certain amount of years. At least it pays well, right?
- Lost his arm in a lab accident a few years ago. Luckily, cybernetics fitted him with a robotic prosthetic. The one who made him the arm also outfitted him with a gun-arm he can put on. Gordon didn’t understand why he would need it but after the Resonance Cascade happened, he’s glad he has it.
- One hell of a shot, especially when he’s freaking out a bit (“Gordon going ham!” @ himself).
- Has been a bit obsessed with safety regulations since he lost his arm (But honestly who wouldn’t be?) and is constantly baffled by Black Mesa’s OSHA Violations.
- Has a son back home, Joshua, who he would very much like to make it back to. Forzen and Gordon swap telling stories about their kids sometimes.
- Helps Forzen out after he’s lost his eye and tells him that he can get help from Cybernetics given Gordon knows a guy from the department.
- Is pretty good friends with Tommy and while he does try to stop him from destroying Black Mesa- he hates the place too but there’s a lot of scientists there who are bound by contract just like he is- Tommy spares him from his attacks.
- Seems to be fairly good friends with the mysterious being who keeps popping up, Bubby. Apparently Gordon has helped hide him away more than a few times when he gets stuck so he owes him.
DARNOLD-
“Uh oh... That might be one of my evil clones...”
- Takes the role of Dr. Coomer as the enhanced scientist with clones.
- Has biological enhancements such as built in rocket boots and extendo arms but they were all given to him when Darnold tested his own potions. He mostly uses these to get the group out of trouble.
- In the same situation as Gordon when it comes to being bound by contract. Neither are very thrilled about it but at least Darnold has been in Black Mesa long enough that he can influence change.
- Head of the Mixology Department but took interest in Xen for a while and oversaw the experiment that caused the Resonance Cascade.
- Signed onto the cloning experiment and now has a lot of clones that help around Black Mesa. Darnold is pretty friendly with them and tries to help some escape when the Resonance Cascade. Unfortunately a lot of them die, which gets to Darnold.
- A few clones drank his Evil Powerade and went rogue a while ago. Fortunately, they’re version of ‘Evil’ is essentially a cartoon mad scientist/supervillain. Unfortunately, they’re still a bit of a nuisance and the gang has to look out for tripwire traps and a few of their minions.
- Carries around a lot of potions to help. Has a strength potion that is particularly helpful in a pinch. Also has a special Forbidden Potion that he uses in the final battle.
- One of the few people that treated G-Man like a person rather than an experiment and thus, has his favor.
- Introduces Tommy to Earthly things and customs. Doesn’t piece it together that he’s an alien until later.
- Tried to help in the betrayal but Tommy held him back, saying it was for the best. Runs as soon as he realizes he’s in danger and hides away from the rest of the team. Actively avoids Forzen and Gordon for a while out of stress but eventually has to step in when one of his Evil Clones captures them.
G-MAN-
“Oh believe me, I am just as... Eager to get out of Black Mesa as the rest of you.”
- Takes the role of Bubby as Black Mesa’s favorite experiment
- If Bubby is like Shadow the Hedgehog, then G-Man is like Mewtwo.
- Is an alien that has been alive much longer than Black Mesa itself. A powerful one at that.
- Black Mesa started hunting him down as soon as they learned of his existence. G-Man had just created Tommy not too long ago and was weak when they came. Managed to protect Tommy but was captured as a result and imprisioned in Black Mesa.
- Nicknamed Project Goodman as Black Mesa wished to one day use his powers for their own benefit. The nickname ‘G-Man’ came later and stuck.
- Has a lot of powers relating to the mind (I.E. Levitation, telekinesis, telepathy, etc.) but Black Mesa keeps power dampeners on him so he can’t escape, no matter how much he may try. G-Man and Tommy search for a way to get these off of him, but little do they know that Black Mesa has other ways of ensuring he can’t go rogue...
- Started acting polite and professional a while back and keeps up the facade as it keeps him out of trouble and gets him more freedom. He now works as a scientist to ‘Help’ Black Mesa but is just biding his time until he can make his escape.
- Absolutely despises being in his tube and tends to get aggressive when in small spaces because of this.
- Has very few scientists he actually likes. Darnold is on this short list as he is kind to him.
- Finally reunited with his son after so long and wants nothing more than to escape together.
- They were so close...
BENREY-
“Oh yo, what happened to your eye, dude? Psh, no worries, I got a cybernetic eye for ya that’s gonna look sick as fuck!”
- Takes the role of Darnold as the guy who has a solution to a certain missing body part.
- Is one of the best in the Cybernetics Department and was the one who made Gordon his arm and gun-arm when he lost it in the accident.
- Became weird friends with Gordon after he helped him out. Benrey may or may not send cryptic messages and cat photos at 4AM to Gordon, who is very concerned for his health.
- The Cybernetics Department was originally supposed to be laid off due to budget cuts and the Mixology Department was going to expand and take over the lab but Benrey refused to leave his lab like everyone else and hacked the doors so nobody could get in. They would’ve dealt with it but soon after, the Resonance Cascade happened and Black Mesa has bigger worries than a rogue cybernetics scientist so Benrey just kinda. Stayed. He’s the only remaining member of the Cybernetics Team.
- A good mechanic and a master hacker. He ends up hacking into the security cameras and the VOX to watch the team as they go. He speaks via the VOX- and never tells them who he is- but as soon as they reach his lab, Benrey greets them like old friends.
- While he does like to mess with the team a little, he’s pretty helpful for the most part. He opens up a few locked doors and gives a few heads up every once in a while.
- “ROCKET. LAUNCH. GOOD.” Yeah that was Benrey. Gordon actually hits himself once he realizes it’s Benrey because everything suddenly makes sense.
- Gives Forzen a cybernetic eye that actually gives him better aim than before. Said eye also “May or may not have other sick features.”
- Benrey refuses to elaborate on this.
COOMER-
“OH HO HO HO, BAD MOVE! TIME FOR ME TO GO IN FOR THE KILL!”
- Takes the role of Forzen as minor antagonist.
- Joined the military because of his Ex-Wife’s pressuring to do so. They’re both still in the military but they don’t talk anymore.
- Volunteered to test out a new serum that would genetically enhance him to be an one man army due to his love for Science. He didn’t expect for it to work like it did.
- The serum gave him superhuman abilities such as strength, high leaping power, endurance, regeneration, and other such. However, there was a side effect to the serum as it also gave him a bit of a bloodlust. “I crave violence” is very literal now.
- Very powerful but unfortunately a bit of a loose cannon. They only send him in if they’re getting desperate since he causes a lot of collateral damage.
- Can calm down and have regular conversations but it takes a lot of effort. The serum screwed with his head a lot.
- Is sent to take down the Science Team. 90% of the time, they have to run from him and shake him off their trail other than fight him as he’s a lot stronger than the rest of them.
- Kidnaps Gordon rather than Sunkist at one point and holds him hostage. The Science Team has to work together to take him back.
- Saved Bubby’s life once and now whenever Coomer gets into real danger, Bubby teleports him away. Bubby is one of the few people who can calm Coomer down for long periods of time and Coomer is very fond of Bubby.
BUBBY-
“Who I am is none of your goddamn business.”
- Takes the role of G-Man as a powerful being who keeps showing up.
- Originally was created by Black Mesa and worked for them but in an experiment gone horribly wrong, Bubby abruptly disappeared with no trace.
- The accident gave Bubby dimensional powers over Time and Space but unfortunately, Bubby struggles to figure them out and they’re rather unstable at first.
- Because of their instability, Bubby sometimes randomly will teleport and get stuck in places he doesn’t want to be in. This happens far too frequently in Black Mesa but luckily, Gordon knows him and starts hiding him from Black Mesa whenever he gets stuck.
- This also happened once when Bubby ended up in the middle of an active battlefield and nearly got killed had Coomer not saw him get teleported in and rescued him.
- Bubby has taken a certain fondness for both of them and watches over them from the shadows as his own way of saying ‘Thank You’.
- Black Mesa is vaguely aware that Bubby is still out there but he’s become a bit of a cryptid to them. There’s some security footage of him teleporting in but all security footage gets really staticy and stops working after he appears in it.
- Bubby absolutely despises Black Mesa.
- If he wants something changed, he will change it, by force if necessary.
- Starts watching the team closely after the Resonance Cascade. At first thinks that some of them are aligned with Black Mesa and actively tries to stop them until he figures out that they’ve all fallen victim to it as well and becomes somewhat of an ally.
Anddd that’s the team!
That took a LONG time to type out but hopefully it’s interesting! I’m having a lot of thoughts about this AU currently so if you’re curious at all, send me an ask and I can talk about it more!
#SB Speaks#SB Rambles#Jumbled AU#Not sure if I’ll ever do a big fic but I’m much mord likely to do a series of smaller ones#Because I honestly do like how this AU turned out#It was fun seeing what kind of relationships would happen and what different characters motivations were n stuff!#long post

Robots
"Eww, stay away from us, you robot," Lydia said. She made a face as if she'd just smelled a used toilet.
Marie held her lunch box with both hands. Her heart raced. She had not been prepared to deal with this level of rejection. This was exactly why she had moved schools. She glanced at other tables in the cafeteria. The other kid's eyes had started to drift to her and the group of girls sitting at the table. She had to flee.
With a soft sob, Marie turned and quickly walked away from the table without looking back. She made sure she caught the least attention she could, so she looked down at the floor, made no eye contact, and walked to an empty table off in the corner.
Still, she could hear the jeering laughter from the other girls, and she could feel their judgmental leers. At the table, she ate quietly. Every so often, she'd reach to the back of her neck, push her hair away, and feel the rectangular box that stuck out by nearly half an inch. It was a special control box that held some kind of computer that controlled her epilepsies. That's what father said anyway.
She did remember scary moments when she would lose control of her body followed by a blank memory. She would simply wake up either on the floor, with other people watching, or in a bed somewhere. It had only happened a handful of times, at least the big ones that she could remember.
Now, five years later, she had a stupid black box that stuck out of the back of her head, just high enough above her neck that her hair failed to completely cover it all the time. Everyone saw it, and it was always the focus of attention. If she could have a choice between the blank moments and the box, she'd rather have the blank moments. No one had made fun of her for that.
"Hi," a boy said, waving his hand at Marie, a smile so large that it defied logic. Even his body seemed to smile. "I'm Jake."
Marie didn't say anything. Instead, she brushed her hair so that the box would be covered up and feigned a smile.
"Seat taken?" he pointed at one of the chairs in a table meant to seat at least eight. She was the only one there.
She shook her head.
"So how come you're all alone over here?"
She didn't want to talk about it, so she shook her head slowly and went back to eating.
The kid, still with a smile, opened a brown paper bag and took out a sandwich and an apple. "Want it?" he said, holding the apple out for her.
She shook her head again.
"I don't really like apples," he said. "They taste weird to me. I don't know why everyone is always saying they're the best thing in the world. Even my mom is always saying how they keep the doctor away or something. If you ask me, I think it scares them away. They taste awful. Do you like apples? I actually prefer oranges. Now, oranges are delicious. I love how they're like happy orange lemons." Jake finished his sentence by taking a very large bite of his sandwich but then continued talking. "What are you eating? Is that rice? I like rice but my mom doesn't know how to cook it. She always ends up making soup and it's terrible when she makes it."
"They're not rice," Marie said, holding one of the two balls on her lunch box. "Mom calls them onigiri."
"Is that Spanish? I bet it means rice in Spanish. You know, my dad is from Colombia--"
"It's not Spanish," Marie interrupted. "It's Japanese. I'm part Japanese."
Jake's eyes widened as if she had said something amazing. "You are Japanese?" he exclaimed. "No way, that's so cool."
"Part Japanese," Marie tried correcting him. She failed.
"I'm so glad I decided to talk to you. I tend to go around, you know. Some of the other kids say I talk too much, but I don't think so. I think I talk just the right amount. That's why I move from one place to another. I get to meet people and learn new things. Like today, I learned all about onigiri. So what does it taste like?" Jake had put down his half-eaten sandwich and seemed to pay studious attention to Marie's food.
"I bet it tastes like rice," Jake continued. "What's the green thing anyway? Is it lettuce? I don't like lettuce. I hope it's not lettuce."
"It's not lettuce," Marie said. "It's seaweed. It tastes a little like the sea," she hinted a smile.
"Oh, I like fish. That's so cool."
"Can I ask you a question?" Marie said, her hand reaching to the back of her head.
"Of course. I love questions. Shoot."
"How come you are okay talking to me? Aren't you afraid because I'm a robot?"
Jake raised his eyebrow and then laughed way too loudly. Some of the other kids looked but rolled their eyes when they noticed who was the one making the noise. "I'm not stupid. You aren't a robot. You're a girl."
"I know, but people call me that because of this thing."
"My dad always says that I shouldn't make stories about people before I meet them. That's why I try to meet people so that I get to know who they really are. But, now that you point it out, what's that thing? Is it like one of those cool computers that make you smarter and stuff?"
"No," Marie said. "It helps me not get sick. Well, it does also help me memorize things a little easier."
Jake slammed his hands on the table. "No way! That is so awesome. I wish I had something like that." He got closer to Marie and held his hand by his mouth. "I have awful grades. I bet with something like that I could pass all of the spelling tests." He sat back down and devoured his sandwich.
"I still have to study. It doesn't really make me that much better."
"Eh," Jake said and stuffed the rest of the sandwich in his mouth. "With or without, people are usually better than me." He made a fist and knocked his head, taking out his tongue. "I'm kinda dumb."
"Don't say that," Marie said. "You shouldn't be mean to yourself."
Jake's smile wavered, and he looked down.
Marie's heart raced again. Had she insulted him? "I'm sorry if I said-"
"I hate apples," he said, taking the apple from the table. He sighed. "I think I should've eaten the apple first then the sandwich. But if I go back home with it, my mom is gonna ground me for life."
Oh, so it had been because of that. Marie sighed. "If you want, we could trade."
Jake turned his head to the side. "Trade?"
"Yeah. You can take one of my onigiri, and I'll take the apple."
"Oh, no I couldn't," Jake said. His eyes narrowed and focused on the apple. "I wouldn't wish this upon even my worst enemy." He laughed loudly again. "I read that in a book. I like that line."
"I mean it," Marie said, pushing her lunch box forward. "I like apples. And my mom makes these all the time."
Jake's eyes glistened. "Are you serious? You would trade that for a crappy apple? I feel like I would be abusing of you."
Marie smiled. "Well, maybe tomorrow you could pay me with something else."
"Will do!" Jake said, handing Marie the apple. "My dad has all these crazy candies from his country. I'll bring something that you might like." Jake held the ball of rice and took a big bite. He nearly squealed in joy. "Oh my god, it has stuff inside."
Marie smiled. She had never seen another kid so happy by her lunch. Usually they just pointed at her and made weird faces. It was nice for a change, so she watched him eat the food, smiling herself.
"That was amazing. You must tell your mom that she's an amazing cook. My mom sucks, but she tries. I make my sandwich though. I think I make them better. I love peanut butter and ham sandwiches. Mom says I'm weird and laughs. But I tell you, they're the best. You should try them sometime."
The bell rung, and all of the other kids got up and started walking out of the cafeteria. Jake stretched out his arm before leaving though.
"Dad says it's good to shake hands when you meet someone new because it creates an important bond."
Marie took his hand.
Jake smiled and shook her hand three times. "I'm Jake Rivera."
"I'm Marie Ito-Jackson"
Jake's eyes glistened. "Even your name is amazing." He let go of her hand and stood up. "By the way," he bit his lip. "Would it be okay if I have lunch with you tomorrow?"
Marie nodded. "Of course. You owe me." She smiled.
Jake did a little jump and clanked when he hit the ground. And for the first time, Marie noticed Jake's leg. She hadn't been able to see it because he wore pants, but as he walked away, she could tell from his hobble. He had a prosthetic leg.
After closing her lunch box, she reached behind her head and moved her hair a little. He was like her. She smiled and walked to class.

A Christmas Story
I am so behind on 25 Days of Wish Hook! At least this will help a little. It started one way and then kind of just... happened. So, I’ve been reading some different versions of Rogers inviting Tilly places or taking care of her, and I adore every single one I’ve seen so far. Then I thought... what if one time Tilly is the one to reach out?
Chapter: 1/2
Warnings: Nothing explicit, but mentions of unpleasant group home and foster situations, plus the mention of death... just in case that’s a concern for anyone.
Summary: After Alice pries Roger to tell her his “story”, she begins to realize how much their home lives have in common. With no other family to speak of, why not spend Christmas together?
“So, detective, what’s your story?”
He fumbled the bishop in his hand, the plastic piece colliding with an unfortunate pawn. “My story?” “You know what I mean,” Tilly insisted, leaning back into the booth at Roni’s, the gentle buzz of a few fellow diners and midday drinkers acting as a soundtrack to their chess game. “You know a bit about me—the group home and where I live, all that. What about you?”
He raised a playful eyebrow. “You want to know where I live?”
“You’re stalling and you know it. Come on. Out with it. You weren’t just born a surly cop. At some point, you must have been a surly child.”
“Funny. Come on, your move.”
She crossed her arms and stared, the hint of a grin creasing the corner of her mouth. Perfect, she just had to be as stubborn as, well, he was. Someone somewhere was laughing at him, he thought. Likely his older brother, his voice even now echoing in his head: You were born a damn mule, I swear.
Well, he supposed, that was at least a starting point.
“I had an older brother. He was seven years older than me. Took care of me after our mother died and our father… went to the store and never came back, as they say. We didn’t have any living relatives aside from each other and our bastard of a father. So, at first, we went together in a group home probably a lot like yours. Sometimes foster care. The same general story.”
She nodded, her arms falling to her sides. Yeah, she knew it well. The feeling of being lost and knowing no one was out there looking for you. “It must have been nice to have someone around.”
He gave an affirmative hum, a fog settling over his eyes for a stretch. Tilly watched as he drifted, knowing better than to interrupt. She had been there. She felt the haze of memories pull her back to some other time and place. Sometimes even moments that weren’t real memories flooded her mind’s eye—images of a high window and a time she felt sheltered but safe. Loved. Not real, she knew, but a pleasant distraction to believe in from time to time.
She almost felt herself drifting, too, when he spoke again. “I was eight when we went into the system together. He protected me from a few of our less-friendly foster parents or siblings. Took the brunt of things for me, even though I was the troublemaker.”
“You? Trouble? I thought you were practically born with that badge.”
Rogers chuckled, toying with the rook he had managed to capture. “No, far from it. I had a smart mouth and a lot of attitude when I was growing up. After my father left, I didn’t really care too much for authority and didn’t really trust anyone. Liam, my brother, did what he could to keep me out of trouble, but I was really bloody good at it and he couldn’t monitor me 24/7.”
Tilly chewed her lip, her nimble fingers twisting a loose thread at the end of her flannel shirt. “What happened?”
“When he was eighteen and aged out, I would usually try to run away to be with him. Even when he lived in a car for three months, I kept trying to stay with him. He would usually bring me back if I was staying somewhere halfway decent. Took me to our social worker if the place wasn’t… Anyway. H would tell me he was working to get a steady place, and even wanted to sign up for the police academy. When he signed up, he fought to get custody of me. Only…” He rubbed a hand over his face and closed his eyes. The creases in his forehead seemed to speak to her even when he didn’t. Why am I saying all this? This is too much. I should quit while I’m ahead.
Without thinking, she reached out and placed a hand over his prosthetic. The pressure on his wrist brought him back to the present, back to her and the soft smile she gave him. His forehead relaxed and his breathing eased. Something about her, something about her presence and that look in her eyes that felt damn familiar somehow eased his nerves enough for him to continue.
“Only he didn’t get that far. I was sixteen when he died. The doctors said it was some adverse reaction to a medication he started to take, but I didn’t believe them. No evidence, though. No idea who would do such a thing or why.”
“Is that why—“
“I became a cop? Yeah. You can say that. At least partially. I guess I also hoped becoming one myself would make him proud, since he never got the chance.”
“I’m sorry,” she said, wincing as the words fell. They felt so cheap, so hollow. “Sorry” didn’t cover how she felt for him and his story, and it certainly didn’t cover how much she loathed that this man who had begun to treat her like family had lost his own.
“Don’t be. I’m here now and wouldn’t be without him. Anyway, that’s my story. Now, let’s talk about something more pleasant so I don’t have to say I completely ruined your day.”
“You could never ruin my day,” she said suddenly, flushing at the honesty. “I just mean it’s been really nice to have you around the last few months. Someone to talk to. Almost know a little of what having a family might be like.”
“I know what you mean,” he said, this time reaching out to give her hand a squeeze.
She wasn’t sure what made her think of it. Perhaps all the fake trees in the stores she went into to get warm. Maybe it was all the holiday music she kept hearing as people’s cars drove past her troll. Whatever the cause, Tilly began to think of how she would spend Christmas.
For once, there was a friend she could see herself spending it with. Someone who, she now knew, understood how she felt. Understood what it was like to be alone, to be on the outside looking in as everyone else had a loved one to gravitate to, to argue about movies about, to cook a botched meal beside.
She had gotten to know his work schedule over the course of the last few months, and stood at the front door of the station, beaming mischievously with a twelve-pound baked ham in her arms.
“What the bloody hell…?” he started the moment he opened the door. “Tilly, what are you doing?”
“We can’t have Christmas dinner without ham. It’s what all the commercials I keep hearing are saying. Also, apparently Coke is festive but I could only carry one heavy thing, so ham it was.”
“Christmas dinner? Coke? I have no idea what you’re going on about…”
His flustered annoyance washed over her in a heartbeat, wiping away her wide smirk instantly. “It’s… I just… thought…”
Oh. OH! Realization dawned on him, breaking through the exhaustion of eight straight shifts and a pile of paperwork still flipping through the back of his mind. “Sorry, I didn’t mean it like that. I’m just tired. Are you saying you, uh, want to do Christmas dinner with me?”
“Well, um,” she squeaked, face flushing. “After you told me about your family, or I guess lack thereof, I got to thinking. You know? Well, I mean, I guess I didn’t think too much. Mostly it was an idea. A couple of ideas. Or, a few ideas that are rolled into one idea. And then there were all those commercials—“
Before she could get too lost in her own sputtering words, Roger’s crow’s feet crinkled his eyes and he gently pulled the ham into his arms. “Tilly? I’d love to have Christmas dinner with you.”
A relieved sigh escaped, her whole face lighting up so much he imagined she looked like a tree-topper—glowing and angelic. A moment of déjà vu hit him but he quickly shook it off and escorted her to his SS Chevelle.
“If I manage to get you to have some vegetables, too, it’ll be a damned Christmas miracle.”

Wanna come over?“•he’s like yeah sure why not•he’s crying because he’s going to his crush’s house•so you’re waiting up or him, jus chilling and he knocks on the door •you open it and your dog is like oh my gosh!!! someone’s here!!!! boof! •let the struggle….ensue•you have to use your knee to hold your dog back so he doesn’t jump all over Hunk•Hunk literally comes in, shuts the door behind him, and just GASPS•and he’s standing there and his excitement is boiling over the top and his lid is about to POP•and you just grin in embarrassment and scratch the back of your head, thinking, wow maybe he’s scared or allergic and I never asked•he goes "hiiiiii!!!” And puts his arms out and your dog runs through your legs and just flops into his arms and he’s literally crying•but,,,Chicken,,, doesn’t know how your relationship is with Hunk•currently Chicken is just excited to see someone new because he’s always been very kind and welcoming to others•so after you explain to Hunk how you found him and such, he immediately fell in love with Chicken and fell in love with you even more•so you guys go on the couch and he goes to put his arm around you while you’re watching a movie•and Hunk just hears growling and he gulps and turns and oh what do u kno•your 3-legged, Pitbull-Rottweiler, 10 month old puppy is baring his huge teeth and growling•ur not close with people like you are with Hunk so yr pretty surprised, and you pat hunks lap and the dog just gleefully goes over and lays across you two•Hunk PISSED himself I kid u not•he excused himself and texted Lance and Pidge•they laughed•when Hunk goes missing, you were at his mothers café, when they broke the news to you and you ended up breaking down into tears and just crying while his mothers comforted you and offered for you to stay with them for a while. Maybe until Hunk came home or when you felt better
[Lance:]
•HA•alright, here’s the thing, your dog is GIGANTIC•despite your puppy being quite young, their growth rate is crazy•you only know one part of your dogs mix unfortunately, but it sure does explain why they’re so large•a giant, 3 pawed Bernese Mountain Dog, mixed with something unknown•the dog at this point is taller than you while on back legs•anyway•you’re taking Chicken for a walk, getting him used to the whole,,, 3 legs thing. •you aren’t dating Lance at the time but you weren’t expecting to see him. a happy surprise.•you let your dog run around the park for a while, doing some homework on a picnic bench•"y/n? is that my favorite person ever!?“ And he runs over and sits beside you•he’s helping you with homework when he feels a light tug at his pant leg•and he’s like,,,haha *wink* you’re so crazy Y/n. In public? hmm I guess•and you’re like ????wat•YOUR DOG TUGS SO HARD LANCE GETS DRAGGED UNDER THE TABLE AND YOURE BOTH SCREAMING•you grab your dogs collar and you’re like omg let go stop it•your dog does and ho boi he is mortified•you also like Lance, so now you think, oh wow. he hates me now •and he says, after some silence and heavy breathing•"man, I love your dog”•he’s a sucker for big dogs and the fact your PUPPY is gigantic and soft and only has 3 paws? just even better•you tell him the story of how you found him, 4 months old, abandoned and eating raw chicken that was no doubt moldy, in a dark and unsanitary alleyway in New York (you were visiting friends)•he fell in love, with the dog and you•ended up asking you on a date while kissing your dogs face and you said YES•when he went missing, you saw it on the news. and immediately grabbed your dog and ran to his house•knocked on the door and one of his siblings answered, very obviously visible that they were just crying. and this is where YOUR, the reader, tears come in•Lance never shut up about you and told his entire family about you and they could easily recognize you because he’s so detailed about your features . Even told them about the dog•they immediately dragged you in and hugged you and you ended up spending a lot of time with them while they also fell in love with u, and Chicken.
[Shiro:]
•totally a dog man•like, he’s had many pets, mostly dogs of course and he loves them•your dog: a labrador-husky mix. bright blue eyes and golden fur. 8 years old•3 legs, a white prosthetic •you found him on the side of the road, he was abandoned at the age of 5•anyway, to begin•Shiro goes up to you in the library after a couple friends finally convince him to•and he’s like, hey, since yr my partner for the project and all, where should we meet?•and you’re like, hm, how about my place?•OKGKKF he nods a bit too excitedly but you exchange numbers and you text him the address •"the doors unlocked so you can just come right in" you text him•he goes aight,,,,, and he walks in and leaves his rained on sneakers at the door•and you’re in the kitchen making some grilled cheese w ham•and your tossin Ham at your dog, who’s jumping up to catch it•he chuckles because your standing there in pajamas and tossing your dog Ham like you’re scoring 3-pointers in basketball•and your dog just stood and books it over to Shiro and when you turn and your dog isn’t there you’re like ???? WHATDH•you look over the island and there’s your dog standing his ground against Shiro and Shiro’s like uh…hehheh•"omg chicken get over here" chicken goes back to normal and prances over to your •"little shit I swear to god"•Shiro’s like, I never thought I’d be scared of a dog before•you smile and go hug him and just hear more growling from over the counter and he’s like ohnyktidjd•you end up going to put the dog in your room because he’s not allowed in the living room and Shiro offers to just watch movies in your room while you guys work on the project•"I don’t wanna have him feel left out cos of me, yknow?“•"yeah you’re right”•you all fell asleep together no lie and if anyone was around they honestly thought it was the cutest thing (shiro drools and has lil light snores and he just looks adorable)•when he went missing, you were heartbroken and didn’t know who his family was because you never got to visit them•you ended up visiting Pidge because you became friends with Matt as well•you hugged Pidge and always took her out to but things and you also helped her sneak into the garrison•when he came back for like,a day, you were in Keith’s shack when they all got there because you wanted to know if he could get in contact with Pidge for you because you were sick from school•Shiro came in and when he woke up you were sitting beside him on the floor, head against his shoulder and your dog was on his thighs
[Keith:]
•American Bulldog puppy mix, that HE actually gave to you•he was setting up posters around the garrison because his neighbors dog was pregnant•you were one of 3 people to approach him, after like a month of it being up•he’s always liked you and he just like, sndjjsjsk, I can give it to you today•and he does, you walk with him to said neighbors and you take home the puppy •this was freshman year so the puppy is 1 year old now•and after you guys became decently close, he asked you to tutor him in Spanish•because compared to him your grades were a bit better and he refused to ask Lance because Lance wouldn’t even say yes?•but he ends up going to your house and knocking because he didn’t get the chance to ask at school, and you just let him in like it’s normal and you don’t even think it’s weird•and he comes in and as soon as he sits down here comes your dog, now 3 legged and slaps into Keith’s face•and he’s like WHAT•one, he forgot you had the dog•two, since when did the dog have 3 legs•turns out, one night the dog escaped and you couldn’t find him for hours•the dog ended up getting hurt and you had no choice but to take him to the vet, where they also had no choice but to remove his log•the dogs name was Wudley, but since the incident you tend to call him Chicken as his nickname•Keith hears about it nd is like, “I’m surprised you kept him, lots of people usually put disabled dogs up for adoption” •"I’d never do that. If it means he has a higher chance of getting put down then that’s just purposely putting him in a slaughter house"•Keith hugs you and his heart swells because you’re so sweet and kind and wow he likes you more than he thought•he hears Wudley growing and nip at his elbow and he just chuckles and plays with him and let’s just say he came over more often to “study Spanish”•by “study Spanish” I mean “play with Wudley for like,,,4 hours straight all the while getting to know you”•when he went missing you knew damn well that this classified info was aliens and ended up living in his shack and doing research while you’re dog stayed with u
[Pidge:]
•this one is a lot different •yr dog is half beagle half terrier•Pidge was walking their dog, and you were walking yours•you shout “omg! Hi Pidge!” •yes this is during the garrison, you were the same age but you went to a different school. you visited the garrison as a sort of field trip with your class and that’s how you two met•"hi Y/n! Is this your dog?“ •your dog stops and just stares and you guys are literally 10 feet apart and you’re like ????•you didn’t notice Pidges dog yet bcos u also have a crush on Pidge and were currently paying more attention to them•Chicken goes full speed at Pidges dog, and they end up fooling around•the two of you end up talking for at least an hour, while sitting on a bench•you play games on your phones and ask each other questions to get to know each other even better than before•next thing you know you both here growling and each dog is growling at one of you. Pidges dog at you, Chicken at Pidge•you panic and apologize and pick up your dog and Pidge says "oh no it’s okay my dog usually doesn’t do this either so I should apologize”•you guys literally apologize to each other for 4 minutes before you just laugh•when Pidge goes missing you end up visiting their mother, sometimes watching their dog as well and doing chores while Mrs.Holt recovers•she lost her whole family, man
