Hey, so i am a teenage radfem (dont wanna specify age but over 14) or not rlly radfem but heavily rad-aligned, i guess, i dont like labelling myself . Sorry if i bother you with this, i know this ask is probs going to be long but . How to deal with my female peers bullying me without being misogynyistic abt them when i tell my mum or writing it down in my diary ? Because they often ask me really inappropriate questions (stuff like "are you a virgin" "do you touch yourself" "are you a lesbian), talk behind my back or just laugh at me . They often target me for my autism too, and because i don't perform femininity like them (they wear really revealing clothes and fake lashes and fake nails) . At first i tried to be nice to them but bcuz then they started asking me these type of questions and bullying me for other stuff, i became uncomfortable and told them to stop that, i told the teacher and suddenly im the bad guy . It really bothers me, i even got so stressed out i cried . I often catch myself saying misogynyistic stuff abt them when telling my mum like "theyre wh0r3s" or calling them other degrading names based on the fact that they already are really sexually promiscous at THIS YOUNG, because that is one of the other things they bully me for, that theyve had boyfriends and did the thing and i didn't (its because i am a lesbian but its nun of their business) . And i know it's wrong to say such stuff about other girls/women, and i know their behavior is probably a result of grooming/hypersexualization and internalized misogyny, but their bullying is so bad i feel like there is no excuse for that . They even tried to spread the rumour that the reason i am so quiet and shy (which is not true i am not even shy) is because i got m0l3st3d by my father . Its just offends me because ive done nothing wrong for them to behave like this, and that i need to "put them in their places" for the bullying to stop . And i wish i could stop writing all kinds of sexist stuff and calling them names when venting abt it in my diary and try to deal with it without being so rude and degrading about them because i realize its unfeminist but sometimes their treatment of me i so rude and disgusting i cant critically write about it only after just writing angry and depressed rants .

Hey :) So first of all, I'm sorry to hear this. I personally think that there is nothing wrong with you writing whatever you want into your diary. You are not responsible for female oppression by calling them names in a diary that no one else reads. But I mean it's still important that you think about how this kind of thinking can impact yourself as well, in the long run. How you are going to condition yourself into thinking that a certain type of female presentation or sexuality is inferior and that can backfire on yourself as well.

In your bio, you say that you are Hungarian, and I assume that you write your diary in Hungarian, so I searched for creative insults in Hungarian and this is what I found:

But I know what you are referring to, and I myself have been heavily ostracised for being autistic as a teen in school. And it's impossible to not notice that the biggest bullies sometimes have a specific presentation, like wearing expensive clothes, getting their nails done every week, wearing a lot of make-up etc. I got into some kind of "zoo visitor mode", in which I looked at the people in my class as if they were monkeys fighting on a hill and pushing each other down, trying to be the boss monkey of the horde. I felt like a visitor of a zoo who accidentally fell into the enclosure and now had to survive with 30 monkeys until the zookeeper let me out (graduation).

But, let's be honest: The main reason for misogyny is not an autistic teenage girl who is being bullied and uses misogynistic terms in response. The main reason for that is men and boys who uphold the patriarchy. You thinking so much about your own influence on patriarchal and misogynistic structures shows that you are quite mature and reflected, as well as very considerate, but as long as you write it into your diary and talk just with your mom about it, I don't think that you're a bad person. If you find better insults, you should obviously use them, but please please PLEASE don't feel worse about yourself than you already do.

Just keep in mind that most people who were bullied in high school turn out to be the coolest people afterwards. There are people who understand you out there, and you got this. I believe in you ❤️

You know in my mind Lucy's mother would visit without warning and that's how she'd learn for Tim. Lucy not telling her because they're not close and want to protect the relationship because she know her parents. Tim would want everything to be perfect and try hard to please them during dinner but her mother isn't gonna like Tim because he is a cop and divorced. I see her to be traditional don't why. And that's what would cause Lucy to blow up. Defending her relationship and telling her mom what she has kept for herself all these time. For her biological dad and everything else. Calling her on her hypocrisy and lack of support and dare I say love. Then we'd have chenford scene for support that strengthens the couple. I could see a scene where Tim stop trying to please the parents and just tell them how amazing Lucy is and what a good cop she is and that it's sad they miss all of it without lucy present in the end of the ep. Like lucy deserve to stand up to her parents herself and Tim would just calmly tell them the facts. I would want to see this in s6. We saw Tim met with Rachel and ashley parents we can do it even with a short season it's just 1 ep. Maybe then, in the next season we could see Lucy parents finally try. You know I imagine season 7 to be the engagement for chenford so they could work on building the relationship during the preparation for the wedding. Because I don't see the end of episode ending with a good note for the daughter/parents in my scenario. It wouldn't be realistic and too easy. Not me making up a full scenario in my head. At least now we know it will prob not happen lol

It's the rookie so the storyline with the parents could be a hit or a miss tbh as we know sometimes they miss. 🤐 hoping for the best tho as always!

See, this is why I'm a bit conflicted about Vanessa showing up again because I don't know what I want to see.

On the one hand, I wish she would come back just so Lucy could stand up for herself and finally confront her mom on her hypocrisy because it's a very much needed conversation. I think it could be very cathartic for Lucy. And to be frank, I thought that was where we were headed with the reveal of her bio dad… Alas, it went nowhere (for now). But on the other hand, I kind of want Vanessa to make amends. To admit that she was wrong. It may be too unrealistic (and it certainly wouldn't happen within one episode) but at the same time, I want Lucy to have some closure. Not that she can't have that in that other scenario of course.

Now should Vanessa make a come back, I absolutely can imagine your scenario, with her showing up unannounced (like she did in 2.05) and thus finding out about Tim - especially if he was the one to open the door #awkward. I doubt very much Lucy would voluntarily mention her relationship to her parents, not in the current atmosphere. She's far too protective for that. I get the feeling that while she is still in contact with them, she also does the bare minimum - like sending flowers for the big dates and that's it. Which honestly is more than they deserve. So the only 'Tim and Vanessa meet' scenario I can picture at the moment is the accidental one. Be it an impromptu visit at Lucy's apartment, at the station, at the hospital… or by sheer coincidence.

I do think that Lucy would be overall wary of her mother. Considering how Vanessa's last visit went, she would be on edge the whole time. I don't know if Tim's divorce would be a point of contention : I feel like the age difference, his job and the fact that he was Lucy's TO would take precedence over that. Although I'm not ruling it out either. And I have no doubt either that Lucy would stand up for herself. She did it several times already after all. But that's also why I want Tim to support her here. Because it has to be tiresome for her to have to justify her choices and happiness over and over again, knowing full well that it's not going to change her parents' minds. As amazing as Jackson was for standing up to Vanessa, Lucy didn't see it. And neither did we. So it would be nice for her to see someone in her corner. Especially since up to this point, Tim has been playing the devil's advocate and has defended Vanessa's behavior several times.

I don't know if it can fit in S6, since there seems to be a lot of intense storylines already, but it could work for s7, yes.

2- Max does indeed have bio parents! As of right now, I currently have no plans for them to show up? That could change however, but he was abandoned by them and thats why he lived on the streets for a bit. Thats also why Max steals a lot and stashes things in random places cause thats what he had to do live. Sometimes tho, being a child, he would steal stuff that caught his eye too; got him caught eventually. But yeayea, his parents abandoned him! So idk if they'd come back, I'd have to ponder on that

In which case if you get an offer, you say, "great, I have signed with an agent, this is their info", and then you tell your agent and they handle it.

I would only do this IF the offer is decent with an advance (pls bear in mind that agents work on commission so may not want to jump through hoops for 15% of bupkis for somebody they don't rep) -- An agent can likely improve a decent offer enough to at least pay for themselves and keep some extra rights for you -- but a VERY low / no-advance offer probably doesn't have room for improvement.

Maybe you'll just handle it, and it will not affect the querying process at all?

If no agent jumps, or you don't feel like the deal is enough to warrant getting an agent on it, you can just hire a literary lawyer to take a peek at the contract, or even there might be lawyers for the Authors Guild or something like that who could answer questions for you if you are a member.

This would not affect the book you are querying. Just, when you send new queries out, you'd change your bio to say "I have a book coming in Fall 2026 from X publisher" (or whatever). Agents won't be bothered by that or anything, it's not a big deal.

Basically: don't worry about it, it may never happen, and if it does, figure out what to do when you have more info!

why do you delete requests? that's kinda rude 🤨

i was gonna give a response that could read as bitchy (or just delete this ask, that would've been kinda funny lol) bc like... i dont think it's rude. also im pretty sure ive explained this before, and you can see in my requesting rules my reasons for why i would delete a request. but ill tell you anyway. (dont take a shot every time i say "request", you'll prob get alcohol poisoning)

first of all, i dont delete that many requests. it's a very occasional thing. id say ive only deleted about 5-10% of the requests that ive gotten ever since i started doing requested work, which has been probably 3-4 years atp.

CLOSED INBOX

this has become a new rule (new as in 6 or so months old) but i don't accept requests while my inbox is closed for requests. i close my inbox for a reason. when i get a large amount of requests, i close it so i can work on what ive been given, and then i open it back up when i've gotten through all of my requests.

i do this so I don't feel too overworked and so it's not unfair to the people who requested something. there would be no point in having this rule if i just accepted a request regardless of when i say whether or not im accepting requests (i did this for a long time which became very overwhelming for me at times which is why it's now enforced this way). and it would be unfair to others who either already requested or are waiting for my inbox to open so they can request, because id be spending more time writing which would lead to my inbox being closed for longer.

i have a (tbh kinda small) list of things (which you can find in my rules) i refuse to write for because some topics make me uncomfortable. this doesn't really need much explaining. if i refuse to write it, im obvi gonna delete it

some people request something that i either have no experience with (writing or irl) or something that makes me uncomfortable in some way. it could either be something specific (in which case i would put that in my no writing list) or the whole thing would just have a weird vibe/undertone. instead of answering the request saying why i won't fulfill it, i delete it bc i don't want things im not comfortable with on my blog.

overall, i delete requests because they cross my boundaries, boundaries that are incredibly easy to find and see on my blog. in literally every fic ive posted on here (except for the really early things bc i didn't have a masterlist or rules post), plus my masterlist, there's a link called "request something" which leads you to my requesting rules. this urges you to read everything you should know what you need to before you actually send in a request. so if you ignore any of that, im obviously gonna see it as you being ignorant and disrespectful of the boundaries that ive created.
