waking up freezing and shivering, teeth chattering every night because your husband is a blanket hog. you know it's not on purpose. he just can't help it. doesn't even know he does it most times. you'd think after years together you'd be used to it, but waking up curled into the fetal position as you try to retain even a smidge of warmth is something you don't think you'll ever adjust to.
so you reach behind you, feeling your spouses large form wrapped snug as a bug in your shared blanket and you grip onto the fabric. you pull as hard as you can but you don't manage to move him even an inch. you try once more...same result.
"ken..." you whisper, wrapping your arms around yourself. no response. "kento..."
he doesn't budge. you're tempted to just get up and go grab another blanket, but your husband, despite his seriousness, can get quite pouty when you do that. so you tap him hard instead sure to jab him in the spot you know is his most sensitive. this seems to do the trick as he grunts in response.
"I'm cold," you tell nanami and he sits up quickly, realizing what he's done. his pajama top hangs off one shoulder. his blonde hair is pointing every which way and sleep is heavy on his eyelids, threatening to weigh him down again any minute.
"I'm sorry, love," nanami speaks, voice rough and deep with exhaustion, but the sincerity in his apology clear.
then he's throwing the blanket back over you both. only he adds in a little extra warmth as he wraps his arm around your waist and throws a large leg over your body.
nanami buries his face in your neck, adjusting himself so that he can be as close to you as possible. only a few seconds pass before you hear his light snoring behind you. and you know the warmth you feel is from more than just his touch.

Robin had gotten a lot of things from becoming platonic soulmates with Steve Harrington. Rides to school, hair care tips, unrelenting trauma, slightly bitchy dating advice that to her eternal chagrin actually worked, and entree into a weird little family that she couldn't imagine living without.
But also... Robin had to listen to sex talk.
It wasn't bad at first, she had actually gleaned a lot of advice from his stories that stood her in good stead with a few select girls. But then on the Family Video bathroom floor Steve had asked if Robin would be okay with him talking about sex with guys.
She said yes one time and now it was her life.
Steve had spent most of their shift moving tapes around the store, shuffling them into different genres based on what he thought they might be about. It was his standard 'I have something to talk about but I don't know if I can say it' behavior.
"Look," she said flatly. "I'm stopping this now. You have five minutes to sum up the problem and then I don't want to hear it anymore."
Steve put the last tape, a copy of St Elmo's Fire, into the Action-Disaster section before coming back to the counter, sharing his head. "I appreciate the thought Robbie but I don't think you're ready for this."
Robin gasped, ready to take full and dramatic umbrage when a Tasmanian Devil made of leather jacket and cheap sterling silver jewelry banged into the store.
"Babe, did you ask her," Eddie asked, grinning madly.
"Not yet," Steve whined and before Robin could gather her thought she felt two sets of eyes settle on her, one steady and concerned and the other sparkling with glee.
Robin stepped back from the counter and held her hands out in front of her. "I don't know what's going on here but no, I will not carry a baby for you two. Get Steve knocked up the old fashioned way if you want kids."
Steve brightened for a moment before pouting, "You wouldn't want to bring a little Buckley-Harrington-Munson into the world? Wow, Robs."
Eddie lunged forward, pushing past Steve to plant his hands on the counter. "We'll come back to that Buckley, but we have a different issue. We need you to be a completely impartial party."
"We really don't," Steve said. "This is not a big deal."
"I disagree," Eddie said. "I happen to think this is a very big deal."
"Well, and--," Steve said. "Isn't 'big' the problem?"
"It's not a problem for me," Eddie said, leering at Steve.
Robin stepped forward and waved her hands between the two guys, interrupting their creepy eye contact. "Okay, fine, tell me what's going on but make it snappy."
Steve hummed but didn't say anything. Eddie grinned and looked from Robin to his boyfriend and back again. He opened his mouth but before he could say anything Steve's hand was pressed half over his face.
"Eddie wants me to try sitting on his face but I'm afraid I'll, like, suffocate him to death." Steve grimaced and pulled his hand away from Eddie before rubbing it roughly on his jeans. "Gross, Eds."
Robin shook her head while they started squabbling. Steve was her best friend and Eddie was a close second. Part of being a best friend was apparently arbitrating their weird sex arguments.
The squabbling had evolved into a slap fight so Robin took the opportunity to examine them. They were the same height but Steve probably had a few pounds on Eddie. Then again Robin knew Eddie was stronger than he looked. Given the way Eddie hadn't stooped smiling since he walked in he definitely didn't seem intimidated by the idea.
Okay.
"Okay," Robin said sharply. "Knock it off. I decided."
The two boys stopped, Steve's arm locked around Eddie's neck while it looked like Eddie was trying to either give Steve a wedgie or just straight up shove his arm down Steve's acid-washed jeans.
It took a few moments for them to separate and put themselves back to rights before they were finally standing in front of her waiting for a verdict.
Robin looked from Steve to Eddie, then back again. She nodded towards Eddie before winking at her best friend. "If he dies, he dies."
"Thank you, Buckley," Eddie crowed, before turning on his heel and heading for the door.
"Where are you going," Steve called out.
Eddie turned back. "I gotta do some stretches, baby," Eddie said, rolling his neck. "I have plans." Eddie blew Steve a kiss before rubbing his hands together and walking out the door.
Robin looked at Steve, his hand still clenched in front of him where he had 'caught' the kiss, a bright red flush on his cheeks.
"I'm gonna marry that man," Steve murmured.

Hello there! I really enjoy your writing, I was wondering if you could write something where ‘Sylus is very clingy and cannot spend a second apart from the mc physically’? We chilling on the sofa? He is there pulling us to his lap and treat us like his plushie. Are we going to kitchen he’ll hold our hand while doing it 🎀 I’d be really happy if you could write couple occasions with this, I love the obsessed Sylus the most 🫠🫂
Love your writing 💞
sylus who cannot stand being too far away from you
Tumblr media
couch cuddling
• You’re sitting on the couch, minding your own business, maybe reading or just relaxing. Sylus is sitting beside you but apparently that's just not close enough for him. Without a word, he slips an arm around your waist and tugs you right onto his lap.
You squeak a little in surprise and your cheeks heat up. He acts like nothing is out of the ordinary, just adjusting his grip as if you belong there.
“Comfortable, kitten?” he murmurs with a grin, barely suppressing a chuckle.
You nod, trying to play it cool but he can see your shy smile as you sink into his chest. He holds you close, and every once in a while, you feel him lean down to plant a lazy kiss on your forehead, perfectly content.
cooking situation
When you stand up and casually say “I’m going to start dinner” Sylus instantly perks up. “Where do you think you’re going?” he says, eyebrows raised.
“Um, the kitchen?” you say with a laugh.
Before you can take another step, he grabs your hand. “Then I’m coming with you sweetie.” His tone is final, and he gives you that teasing smile, as if he’s daring you to object.
“You need to be this close just to cook?” you ask with a little giggle.
“Of course” he says. “Wouldn’t want this kitten wandering off somewhere, now would we?” He gives your hand a squeeze and doesn’t let go as you both walk to the kitchen, his presence warm and steady by your side.
bathroom bodyguard
When you get up to head toward the bathroom, you notice Sylus trailing close behind. “Sylus!” you laugh, “I’m just going to the bathroom.”
He shrugs, looking like it’s the most natural thing in the world. “And?”
You stop and raise an eyebrow at him, trying not to laugh. “Don’t you think that’s a bit much?”
He pretends to look wounded, crossing his arms. “What, can’t a man worry about his girl?”
You shake your head but can’t help smiling. “Just wait outside, then” you say.
He leans casually against the doorframe, watching you with a mischievous gleam in his eye. “You know, kittens are in their most vulnerable state when using the bathroom”
You roll your eyes but feel warmth in his protectiveness. It’s silly but that’s just him and as you close the door, you hear him chuckling softly to himself outside, still keeping his post as if he’s on high alert.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
You order your second drink from the barista and weave through the small line to get back to your table. Most of the staff here know you by name and don’t mind that you spend a few hours of your weekend morning enjoying a drink (or three) and reading.
Settling back into the chair you grab your book and try to find where you left off. The door to the shop opens and cool breeze blows in. Taking your warm cup between your fingers you lift it to your lips, hoping the heat will seep into your bones, when you hear your name.
You blink up to see Bucky standing near the counter and a different kind of warmth rushes through your body. His hair is messy, and he’s dressed in a tee shirt and sweats, as if he’s just been out for a run. Even a little sweaty, he looks better than should be allowed.
He pulls out his wallet to pay and your eyes drop automatically to the way the damp tee shirt clings to his shoulders and dips in at his waist, down to where his hip bones…
The sound of the chair scraping along the floor makes you snap your head up to meet his eyes, blue and clearly amused to have caught you ogling him.
He sits across from you, stretching his arms out on the table, and takes his time doing his own, totally blatant, inspection.
You raise a brow.
“Little chilly for a run, isn’t it?” you say.
He shrugs and takes another sip of his drink.
“Let me guess though, as usual, you’re not cold at all.”
He aims a smile at you, ignoring your teasing remark.
“So,” you start, trying again, “what are you doing here?”
His eyes sparkle and he leans forward to push the book in your hands upward, positioning it so he can see the front cover.
“Lookin’ for you doll,” he says simply before reading the title.
“Enjoying your romance?” he asks after, his smile growing wider.
It’s your turn to shrug and you place your bookmark inside the book and close it.
Under the table he stretches his long legs out in front of him and brackets each of his feet against yours, the sides of your legs touching.
“Well?” he asks again.
“I just started it. The tension is building…you know a slow burn, but I think it has potential.”
He stares at you, relaying so much in his expression: just like us?
“Want to get some dinner later?”
“Actually, I have plans,” you tell him.
His expression falls just the tiniest amount.
“Plans?”
“My brother and Marie have a wedding to go to and I promised I’d watch Samantha.”
“Babysitting!” he states. “Now that sounds fun.”
You give him a look and start to gather your things.
“I need to do a few errands before I head over.”
You stand and hook your bag over your shoulder before pushing the chair in. He stands and reaches forward to untwist the strap.
“Ok.”
You stand there, the obvious question (and tension) hanging between you.
“Do you want to babysit with me?” you ask. “Even though I’m sure you’ll find it totally boring.”
“I’ve hung out with Sam’s kids a lot. They’re fun.”
Your eyes widen slightly, and you watch the smooth line of his throat as he swallows.
“Soooo…you want to come?”
“Why not?”
“You might be bored out of your mind.”
His smile melts your insides.
“Maybe doll, but wouldn’t it be more fun if we’re bored together?”
“Are you sure?” you ask. “There will probably be tea parties, and dolls, and a makeover.”
He follows as you head toward the door and holds it open.
“Thanks,” you say.
He smiles. “I’m sure. It’s nothin’ I can’t handle.”
“Ok, great!”
“So, what time?” he asks.
“Five. And you have to bring pizza and let her do your hair if she asks.”
Tumblr media
“You know…and I can’t believe I’m saying this, you’re a great babysitter.”
You wiggle your toes, feet propped up on the coffee table and still drying from the bright pink nail polish Samantha painted on.
Bucky grins at you from across the way where he’s sitting with Sam at a small table, in an even smaller chair, in the middle of what appears to be a very fancy tea party.
His usually soft, floppy hair is spiky now, tied up by bright hair ties in about ten tiny, crazy ponytails.
He leans toward Sam conspiratorially and shoves his thumb in your direction. “I told you she thinks I’m great.”
Sam slides some decorative barrettes into his mess of hair. “And you said cute.”
“You mean you said you’re cute,” you explain, eyeing Bucky. “I never said such a thing.”
“I never said you said it…” Bucky counters and politely thanks Sam when she gives him more tea. “But I know you’re thinking it. Especially right now.”
He throws you a little wink.
Sam smiles at Bucky then at you.
“I think he looks cute!” she says sweetly.
You stand and walk over to them, kissing the top of Sam’s head and without thinking, brushing a finger over a piece of Bucky’s hair that’s come loose.
“Well, you definitely get points for being a good sport.”
You expect him to shoot back with some snarky comment about “points” meaning a blow job or something, but instead he just says, “I’m havin’ fun doll.”
“Do you want more tea?” Sam asks you.
“No thanks baby. It’s getting late and I don’t want to drink anymore. It might keep us up.”
“Well,” she starts with some sass, “I’m not tired.”
She turns back to her dolls and then adds, “and I want to keep playing with Bucky. Don’t you think he’s nice?”
Bucky snickers and you lightly smack the back of his head but before you can answer Sam she continues with another addition to Bucky’s lovely attributes.
“And cute?”
You kneel down beside her, smoothing your hands over her cheeks.
“He is nice,” you say.
“And?”
Her sweet voice once again has some sass.
“And cute,” you add with a roll of your eyes.
Bucky’s eyes light up in triumph and you can’t stop your smile.
“It’s late. Let’s get ready for bed.”
Her lip sticks out and her eyes grow wide.
“But I’m sure Bucky can come back and play again soon. And I’ll bet we can get him to read you a story before bed.”
That seems to placate her for the moment, and she says, “we’re going to watch Moana. He pinky promised.”
You turn to Bucky. “You pinky promised?”
He gives you a heart stopping smile.
“Guess we’re watching some Moana before bed,” you concede.
Tumblr media
Sam agrees to pajamas and teeth brushing before the movie. The three of you settle onto the couch, Sam in Bucky’s lap and you, at her insistence, next to them. Right next to them. You’re all three crammed into one corner and she allows him to take out the hair ties and barrettes with little fuss if he promises to wear his Barbie necklace and never take it off. Ever.
Bucky agrees steadfastly and Sam beams up at him, resting her head on his chest and reaching for his hand.
He’s solid and warm at your side, and it takes a few minutes to get her settled, but soon she’s snuggled up and rather pleased with herself.
Her hand looks positively tiny in his and you keep blinking down to it, marveling at how much bigger he is than her and how absolutely soft and gentle he’s being.
You try desperately to pay attention to the movie. You love Moana. But it’s hard to follow along amid the internal crisis you’re having over his holding her hand and snuggling with her. It’s not sexy. Not sexy at all.
Some time later, Bucky’s voice breaks into your thoughts: “I think she’s out doll.”
You look over to meet his eyes, and in the low light flickering from the TV he’s all sharp jawline and lush lips. The ends of his dark lashes glow against the screen.
“Is she asleep?” he asks you.
You blink out of your stupor before you understand what he’s asking and lean forward to check. Sure enough, her eyes are closed, her breaths soft and even.
“Yep, out like a light. Nice work.”
“I do make a pretty good bed,” he smirks. “But I’m sure the two slices of pizza and cookies did most of the work.”
“No really, “you whisper. “This whole night…you’re amazing. You waltz in here with dinner and cookies and your dreamboat smile, all sweet and charming. You made this whole thing easy. Well done Barnes.”
“You think I’m charming?” he says, and grins.
The light from the TV accents the way his face softens then he smiles, and you have to look away.
“Is that all you took out of that whole thing” you ask.
“I also got sweet, dreamboat…easy.”
You laugh, rubbing a hand over your face. “Of course you did.”
Bucky chuckles softly and rearranges Sam on his lap.
“But really, this was fun. “Sam is a real cutie, and you know I love hangin’ out with you.”
You swallow and try to make sense of what you’re feeling, wanting to explain it to him.
A beat of silence passes between you, and he looks over at the TV. You know you’ve been quiet too long when he clears his throat and shifts next to you.
The air between you is crackling with charge and you’re finding it difficult to deal.
He leans in and tilts his head to look at you. You shift forward and he’s so close, close enough that you can feel each breath and count the tiny patches of gray hairs that line his cheek. His eyes drop to your mouth and back up and he’s asking if this is okay, giving you time to close the distance or pull away.
You want to kiss him.
It takes the smallest effort on your part before you feel him, the barest brush of his lips, the slight catch in his breath against your own. He smells like the six chocolate chip cookies he ate after dinner, and your mouth nearly waters, imagining how good he’ll taste.
Without thinking you close your eyes and part your lips and…
Sam makes a small sound in her sleep and says your name.
You and Bucky exhale like you’ve been holding your breath, before he sits back, pushing a hand through his hair.
“Am I an awful person that I would have given her a thousand bucks to sleep for ten more minutes?” he asks.
Your heart is pounding in your chest, and you laugh. “Only ten?”
He stares at you, watching you settle back against the couch. After a few minutes you feel his finger brush absently along your wrist.
You wonder if his fingers itch like yours whenever he’s around, or if he feels the same tug-of-war inside his chest.
Unable to control the nerves firing rapidly inside your brain you make your hand move, keeping your eyes straight ahead and focused on the TV while turning your palm over and twisting your fingers with his.
He tightens his grip.
Sam is softly breathing with her head resting against your shoulder and after only a few moments of hesitation, you feel Bucky do the same.
The weight of him next to you, so strong and warm, feels comfortable and safe, and soon your eyelids droop. You sink farther into the couch and Bucky, falling asleep to the sounds of The Rock singing, “you’re welcome.”
It can’t be too long after when the front door opens. You vaguely hear footsteps and blink several times before you can make out your brother standing in front of you, holding his phone in his outstretched arm.
“What are you…are you taking a picture?” you ask, voice groggy.
“Do you have any idea how cute you two are?” he asks, looking at this phone before turning the screen toward you.
“That’s super-creeptastic bro.”
You feel Bucky stir next to you and he sits up with a start.
“Relax Barnes,” you brother says. “I’m not gonna beat you up for catching you with the babysitter.”
You realize that you and Bucky are still holding hands, and you pull yours away, ignoring the way you can still feel his palm against your own.
“Really creepy,” you say, gently handing over Sam to your brother.
“How was she?” he asks, smoothing her hair.
“An angel, like always. But she might be marrying Bucky. So, there’s that.”
Your brother laughs. “She could do a lot worse,” he says, then motions that he’s going to put her to bed.
You say goodbye and Bucky walks you out to your car. You stand across from each other, pretending that you didn’t just barely kiss and that you weren’t holding hands. Regardless, things feel calm and safe.
It’s dark and you fumble for the door handle, opening the car to set your bag down inside. When you turn, Bucky takes your hand, looking down at the way it fits in his.
“I had a lot of fun doll. Thanks for letting me hang.”
“Are you kidding? This was the best. Thanks for coming.”
It looks like he’s about to ask you something but then thinks better of it and instead leans in to place a kiss to the corner of your mouth.
“Text me when you get home, yeah?”
“Sure,” you answer.
On impulse, you cup his face and stretch to place the lightest kiss on his warm lips.
Stunned, he just stands there, watching as you step back and fight a smile.
His eyebrows slowly rise.
“Doll, you just kissed me.”
“Only a tiny kiss.” You smile up at him and notice the way his eyes flicker to your lips.
He doesn’t move away and instead takes a small step forward, pushing your back against your car door.
Your hand comes up from your side, moving along his chest and around to grab the back of his neck.
“Doll?”
You pull, stretching at the same time and bringing your mouth just a breath away from his.
“Are you…?”
“Just kiss me?” you whisper.
Your fingers tangle in the hair at the back of his neck and you trail kisses along his jaw, soft and hesitant.
His illusion of restraint shatters and he takes your face in both hands and with a groan, presses his lips against yours. He tilts your head, feeling the clench of your hands in his hair, and steps closer, sliding his hands down your back.
He tugs you as close as possible, lining all your softness up with the hard planes of his body.
When he pulls back he’s breathing heavily and he cradles your face in his hands, softly brushing his thumbs over your cheeks.
“Can I…?” he murmurs against your lips.
“Do you want…?” you whisper at the same time.
He smiles and it’s so sincere, crinkling the corners of his eyes and making you swoon.
“Yeah. Yeah I do doll.”
He kisses you again, his lips lingering before he asks, “my place or yours?”

This is a hard truth that a lot of people don't want to hear, that there needs to be a balance between holding men accountable for their behavior, pointing out injustices that they benefit from, and at the same time encouraging them to learn and grow.
And this goes for any group of people, really, but especially so for young men right now.
I was saying this shit back before the 2016 election and really pissed off a lot of people for daring to argue that we should encourage our allies instead of shaming and alienating them.
"Yes, absolutely, people should support our civil rights because it's the right thing to do, but a lot of people genuinely do not know how much of the world is structured to prop them up at the cost of bringing others down."
I'm going to say something possibly really, really controversial here, especially in the wake of THIS election:
Most people are capable of being empathetic, understanding, and logical, but if you are going to engage with them then you have to have the maturity to commit to reaching them.
At one of the places I worked previously, there was this security guard who worked a few nights at the end of the week who was honestly one of my best friends there. He was a well-educated, very devout Christian man around my father's age, and he was black. For context, I am a young Irish-American liberal Hellenic Polytheist.
We actually got along far better with each other than I did with all of the hippie woo neopagan people I knew there, and he with the Christians there. And that's because we were not only both well educated within our belief systems, we were also really good at meeting in the middle and extending social grace and understanding to each other. We found that our core principles were perfectly aligned, we just didn't always arrive to our conclusions in the same exact ways.
When the pandemic hit in 2020, he was reluctant to get vaccinated, and when we talked about it I was the one person who got through to him. And he told me so. He told me outright, after he got vaccinated, that it was my voice that changed his mind.
I did not do that by shaming him over all of the people he might kill if he caught COVID and spread it. I did not do that by attacking his intellect or scientific literacy. I did not do that by threatening his financial security and pointing out that companies are letting people go for not getting vaccinated.
I did it by acknowledging his beliefs and concerns (especially as an older black man, given this country's history), and agreeing that he absolutely has valid reasons to feel the way he does, but by letting him know that my position on this subject was one of caring about his well-being above all else and letting him know when I got vaccinated and where, and how the process went for me.
Look, shaming CAN be effective in some limited scenarios, and I've done that, too. I've shamed quite a few people on public transit for refusing to let disabled elderly people sit. I am very much guilty of telling a woman that her imaginary friend does not need a seat of their own so that a guy who fell over getting on the bus could actually sit the fuck down.
But when it comes to bigger picture social issues, it's so much better to try to reach people and establish dialogue FIRST. And I know that that is asking a lot. For many of us, it goes against our very instincts.
At the local farmer's market last week, I had a man come up to me in a MAGA hat and I was absolutely braced for a fight. Instead, he eagerly showed me pictures on his phone of the garden he was cultivating. He was almost GIDDY about his plants, about the wildflowers and the pollinators and the fruit and the trees. That man was reachable. He was not there to attack me for being a queer woman. He was there to bond over how cool plants are and had no idea what he was really signing up for.
It's so much easier to condemn people broadly as monsters, and I know it feels much more satisfying and rewarding in the moment. I've done it, too. I was downright obnoxious about it when I was younger. But this is not the kind of behavior that leads to long-term societal growth.
The more we cut off and alienate people, the easier it is for them to fall prey to indoctrination. Exposure and social engagement is our biggest weapon against bigotry and THAT is a major reason as to why the Republican party wants to destroy public education.
I have had an immense uphill battle with some of my closest male friends in trying to keep them from falling down the alt-right pipeline. It's been a nearly two decade endeavor in a few cases, but I have seen those men in my life gradually improve and become well-rounded, empathetic, and educated men.
I guess what I'm saying here is, if you have a man (or ANYONE for that matter!) in your life who is showing early warning signs and/or you believe is susceptible to the MAGA movement, please think about what I've said. It's so much harder to approach them from a place of understanding than of anger and I get that, but at the end of the day, one of those is going to be much more effective at changing their viewpoint.
Lastly, if you find yourself in a situation where you are trying to engage with someone who thinks very differently than you do, here are a few tips and some examples:
1. Acknowledge their viewpoint.
"I understand where you're coming from"
"I think I see why you think/feel this way"
Or even just asking, "I don't really understand, can you explain how you arrived to this conclusion/viewpoint/opinion, etc.?"
2. Offer them an olive branch.
"I see what you're saying, and actually, I think you will find that our opinions aren't too different from each other's."
"You have a point about this, and if I could just build off of that, here is where I am coming from."
3. Address their concerns
"Yeah, you're right, our taxes are already way too high, but if we didn't have to raise them at all and could, instead, take a hard look at how they are already being spent?"
"Wolf reintroduction absolutely could be a problem for farmers if it's handled poorly, and you're right that city people don't understand that as intimately as you do, but what if I told you there's a way we could work this out to your benefit, too?"
4. Thank them for listening! (even if they didn't magically change their opinion right away, you never know)
"I'm glad we had this talk, thank you for hearing what I had to say."
5. Reassure them that you listened, too! (even if YOU didn't change your mind)
"I can't say you've changed my mind, but you've given me something to think about."
Tumblr media
I couldn't have said it better myself.

Ships 🚢
Flash, Superman, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), and Captain Marvel get invited to a little show. Marvel didn’t really want to go but GL and Flash convinced him with the promise of food after. Supes came because he thought it would be a great team bonding activity (he wants to hang out with his friends). By the way, the order they’re listed is how they’re sitting from left to right. Now, if any of them are being honest, none of them had a single clue what they were going to be doing on the show. They didn’t realize this until the host gave them tablets opened on Ao3 and told them they would be looking at their ships with other heroes.
Flash: “Why do I have so many with Marvel?” *scrolling through their tag on the tablet*
Marvel: “I think it’s because we both have lightning bolts.”
Flash: “Cap, that does not make it better.” *still sounds a little horrified*
GL: “I thought you had a girlfriend?”
Flash: “I have a wife!”
or
GL: “Why do you have so many with Spooky?” *leaning over to look at Clark’s tablet*
Marvel: *floats over to see*
Flash: *also leaned over to look at Clark’s tablet* “Bondage kink as a tag is insane.”
Supes: “WHAT. WHERE DO YOU SEE THAT??” *frantically scanning the tags of a story*
Flash: “That one.” *points to a different story*
Supes: “Oh my god.” *covers mouth, reading all the heinous tags on that post* “Oh my god.”
Flash, GL, and Marvel: *exchanging glances of concern*
or
Marvel: *scrolling his tag with GL* “Why do I have so many with Lantern?” *pauses to hold back a laugh* “Is this because of that time I had to carry you down when your ring lost charge?”
GL: *also scrolling their tag* “It better not be because of that.”
Marvel: “Or wait, do you think it’s because- wait can I tell them that?”
GL: “Tell them what?”
Marvel: *leans over to whisper in Hal’s ear*
GL: *mortified face* “Absolutely not.”
Supes: *thousand yard stare because he can hear them*
I’ll let you guys decide what he whispered to Hal. Please, pretty please tell me your suspicions. I love reading comments and a lot of you are really funny!
Marvel: “Wow. There’s a lot of Mary and Junior…” *sounds agitated*
Flash: “They aren’t dating?” *is joking*
He gave him the most judgmental side eye. It was almost as good as this.
I was inspired by this when I saw a fic that had a Clark and Billy ship tag. After being momentarily baffled and disgusted, I got the idea for this. I honestly didn’t think those were actual fics for some reason. I just thought y’all maybe saw it on deviantart in like 2013 and still talk about how disgusting it is.

CAPTAIN CURLY SMUT HEADCANNONS !! NSFW under the cut. MDNI.
(These are all completely random, not tied to any prompt. I just want more stuff about this guy cuz I love him) Fandom/characters: Mouthwashing, Captain Curly, other characters briefly mentioned.
Content warning: Smut (obviously), p in v, curlys packing, title kink, thigh-riding, face-sitting, size difference, manhandling, reader is AFAB, creampie, multiple rounds, riding, cursing, J*mmy.
Tumblr media
-He's a grower, not a shower.
I firmly believe Curly is a distinguished gentleman, unlike J*mmy who would most likely brag about how big he is and end up only being like, 5 or 6 inches. Curly, however, will not mention his size until you see it for yourself. And when he sees your face, he panics. "Oh-shit, uh- i-is it gonna be too big for you? It's okay if it is, I should've warned you.."
He's four inches soft, uncut. I think he keeps himself decently groomed. He's not completely bare, but it isn't a forest. He's got a little v-line that's only visible when he wears sweatpants that you go absolutely feral over. When he gets hard, whoo boy. 9 inches, throbbing. He's got a cute little vein near his tip that you like to attack when you're sucking him off because it makes his thighs shake. He's got a little bit of a mushroom tip, maybe more rounded. Perfect for hitting all those good spots inside you. In short, he's big. (he tucks it, that's why he doesn't have a bulge in his sprites. Also I'm sorry trans-Curly headcannon people ;-;)
-"Need a seat? I'll volunteer."
VEEEEEERRRYYY into face-sitting. Very. Like, the first thing he wants when you guys get freaky is for you to sit on his face. He's not exactly sure why he likes it, to be honest, he just loves the feeling of you absolutely lose yourself on his tongue. He isn't worried about suffocating or anything, since he's a lot bigger than you, so don't be afraid to ride his face! he can handle it! But seriously, use this guy as a seat. He'd give you a few licks up your slit at first to warm you up (again, gentleman) before going for your clit. And when he gets it, he sucks. Hard. He'd also probably sneak a finger or two inside you to add extra stimulation, because he really wants you to come on his face. He desperately yearns for the sound of you screaming his name as your juices cover his face and tongue, letting you ride your orgasm out before lifting you off his face and setting you down. "Alright, sweet-stuff, my turn. On your knees, please."
-Save a Polle, ride his big ass thighs.
So... we've all seen his sprite. He's thick as fuck. He's got a booty and bigger tits than me. But he also has deliciously large thighs.. so use that to your advantage, because he's totally down with it. He likes using it as foreplay to get you wet enough to take him, and he just likes the feeling. He'll probably give himself a hand while you're doing it, or he'll just watch and leave the touching to you.
He isn't much for public sex, but if you're really horny, he'll let you get high on his thigh over his uniform and gently praise you when you come. It gives him a little buzz to be doing something like that in a risky situation, like while he's in the cockpit sitting at the control panel, or even in the commons of the ship with Daisuke in a few rooms away. When you do come, which isn't that long after, he'll kiss you all over your face and head and twirl your hair in his fingers, using his other hand to rub your ass or back.
"There you go, sweetheart, that's a good girl. Good job."
-Sir yes sir.
I know, I know. He gets called 'Captain' and 'Sir' for his job. But if its coming from you when he's balls deep in you.. It's an entirely different reaction.
"D-did.. you just call me- mgh..- Captain?"
It makes him ferociously horny to hear that title slip from your lips, so pray you'll still walk tomorrow. "Ooh, fuck, yeahhh. Call me that again, baby. Call me that again.. Uh-huh. Captain takin' care of this pretty lil' pussy, huh.."
He doesn't dirty talk that explicitly, but you calling him captain gets his creative juices flowing. Oh, also his come. Yeah..
Its also perfect teasing material. You two couldn't even be getting it on, you'd just sneak up behind him and kiss him on the cheek and say "Morning, Captain!" In that tone you know drives him wild. Boom, hard. Poor guy.
-Yeehaw!
favorite position? Cowgirl. For many reasons. One, he loves looking at your face while you ride his cock. The noises, the facial expressions you make, the way your tits bounce up and down with your hips.. He wishes it was a renaissance painting to look at every morning. He also just likes being able to hold you easily. When you're on his lap, its easier for him to snake a hand up and hold your hair out of your face, or to give your ass gentle love taps (he would never spank you, unless asked to). He's a very hands-on guy and wants to touch you, everywhere he can.
Of course, he doesn't mind the occasional doggy, or missionary, or hell, even a Full Nelson, because you KNOW he's able to hold you like that. Manhandling comes naturally with Curly. Gently, of course. He would never hurt you.
-Gets a little messy.
Curly's no one pump chump. He'll go for hours. Even if he's came inside you at least five times, he'll keep going. He's got hella impressive stamina. His motivation? Seeing your cunt leaking his seed when he pulls out. He wants you to still find it in your underwear 3 days later. No hole goes unfilled. He's not exactly a breeder, per-say, though he definitely wouldn't complain about getting you pregnant, he just likes seeing you in a state. He thinks of it as artwork, leaving you so stuffed to the brim. The next day, he'd pull you aside and give you a quick finger-orgasm, just to see if his come's still in there. When it leaks onto his fingers along with your own, he's a very happy man. "Ahh, look at that. Still got it in ya. Should fill you up even more later, hm?"

Tags: bau!reader, fluff, no use of yn, s2 baby emily, a whole lotta yearning
Summary: In which Emily is new to the team and finds a friend in you. Requested here.
Word count: 1.2k
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Emily has always felt out of place.
In high school, in her mother’s lavish gatherings, in the sprawling estate that she’d eventually learned to call home. It’s never something she can help, though with gritted teeth she developed the art of blending in with fake smiles and perfectly crafted words. It’s a habit that stuck with her, one she’s never quite learned how to shake off even after all these years.
So it makes sense that she doesn’t fit in at her new job.
It works just fine with her. Emily has had a lifetime to get used to it; isolation had become her friend, the liquid movement of her following shadow more than often her only, constant, companion. Despite that, she had a small, lingering hope. That maybe coming back to DC would mean making herself a home, finding—if not friends—companions that she could be casual with, invite out for a round of drinks when the thick silence of her apartment was too much.
Hope was quickly snuffed out. Her boss only thinly veils his distrust, and the youngest—Reid—stares at her with accusing eyes. The rest of her coworkers are lukewarm, not quite yet interested in getting to know her; their gazes are more often than not tinged with condescension, as if they’re not sure she’s earned her place. It seems like everyone’s waiting for her to slip up, for Hotch to chew her out and pluck her from the neatly rounded group they’ve found themselves being, a well oiled machine that works perfectly in order without her.
Everyone, apparently, except you.
You and Garcia, that is, but the tech analyst’s influence is a lot less reassuring given that it’s behind phone calls and computer screens most of the time. But with you there with her—in the field, at your joint desks in the bullpen—things are more bearable.
“Hey.”
You’re whispering slightly as you slip into the vacant seat in front of her, fingers wrapped around a steaming mug.
Emily looks up at you. The dimmed lights of the jet reflect in your eyes, painting you in softer edges as you sit down across from her without waiting for an invitation. There’s an easiness to your movements, one that she would say is out of place considering how long you’ve known her. Still, warmth spreads to her icy fingertips, and she can’t help the small smile that pulls at her lips.
“Hi,” she says back, matching your tone. Other than the hum of the jet itself—and the rumble of distant snores she’s too far away to be bothered by—a soothing silence has settled across the cabin, and her voice doesn’t carry much farther than your seat. The smile that you return is friendly, a sight that she’s been slowly getting accustomed to these past few weeks.
She’s a little surprised when you don’t offer anything more to say. You simply lean back in your seat and take a sip from your mug, her eyes tracing the bop of your throat as you swallow and look down at the sudoku in your hand. Emily’s finger is still slotted inside her book; she’d automatically marked the page and shut the cover closed when you appeared, some subconscious mechanism turning in her head so that you get her full attention.
The revelation that you might simply want her company comes too late.
You’re looking back up at her, your eyes meeting hers as a slow warmth runs beneath her icy skin. Emily should look back down; she has nothing to say, other than the blunt but genuine question of why are you here, but you give a small shrug and she’s enraptured, tracing the sheepish line of your pressed lips.
“Gideon’s snores get a little loud.” You say.
Emily’s surprised to hear her own laugh. It seems you are, too. A small movement draws your brows upward, but the curve of your mouth is distinctly pleased, your eyes brightening beneath the dim lights of the jet. The sound doesn’t last long—it’s low, soft, joined by your own laugh for a few brief seconds—but its effect carries tension from Emily’s shoulders, makes her slip her finger out of her book with a genuine smile.
“That they do,” she murmurs back, already familiar with the loud rumbles that have made their way through thin motel walls, occasionally piercing her already irregular sleep. The sleeves of her cardigan are pulled over her knuckles; she tugs them higher, seeking to cover the ice in her fingertips.
“Are you cold?”
Maybe she is. Maybe the sound of your voice spills warmth down her veins. Emily doesn’t like admitting things, but her smile gives her away. It borders on shy, barely wide enough for her dimples to curve in her cheeks; she wishes she had a mug of her own to hide behind, but she has an inkling that hiding from you would be pointless.
In the end she shrugs.
You set your mug and sudoku down. “I’ll be right back.”
She’s left staring at your empty seat, brows furrowing slightly as goosebumps break out on her skin. The jet really is ridiculously cold. And yet when you come back less than a minute later holding out a fuzzy blanket for her to take, she shakes her head.
“Oh, I can’t—”
“Please,” you insist. “I remember I forgot to layer up the first few times on here and I was miserable. Makes you stiff,” your lips twist into a smile, and you’re looking at her so earnestly that she submits.
“It does,” Emily says, this time accepting the blanket. You beam at her and she goes warm, though it has nothing to do with the fuzzy, light gray wool now draping over her lap. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
Emily places her book on the table before effectively burying herself in your blanket. It’s warm and soft; when she brings it up over her shoulders, a faint scent of perfume nuzzles against her nose. Yours. In seconds, her hands grow warm. She chances a glance at you, a thank you almost tipping from her lips again—just to continue the conversation, hear your voice, when you do it for her.
“What does that say?” You’re peering at the worn cover of her book. The edges are curled, the spine broken. The margins are full of her loopy scrawl and unsteady underlines, more than a few pages dog eared.
Emily bites back a smile at the curious draw of your brows. “Les Liaisons Dangereuses.” The French slips effortlessly from her lips, smooth and curling. “The Dangerous Liaisons. It’s a French classic, one of my favorites. I could tell you about it,” her hand peeks out from the edge of the blanket and she fidgets with her hair, tucks it behind her ear, “if you’d like.”
You lean your elbows on the table, sudoku very much ignored as you peer at her with something like astonishment. A grin pulls at your lips and she’s suddenly overheating.
“I very much would, Agent Prentiss.”
“Emily.”
“Emily.” You agree, tilting your head in a nod. “Tell me about Les Liaisons Dangereuses.” You butcher the title beyond belief. The displeased wrinkle of your nose says you know it, and butterflies erupt along Emily’s lungs.
She laughs, the beginnings of a blush staining her cheeks.

u still love me?
Stray Kids OT8 Imagine
NSFW!! 18++
summary: if you’re feeling down, you can always count on your sweet boy to reassure you.
4.6k words
Bang Chan:
Our sweet, touchy boy. The best way he reassures you is just putting his hands any where he can reach. He'll rub and touch you all over, hoping to ease your mind. He finds comfort in touching you just as much as you find.
When you let out a sigh from your spot behind Chan, he immediately pulls his other headphone off his head and turns towards you. You're on your phone, zooming in and out of a picture.
He glances over at the other producer in the room with him. He has both headphones on and Chan can faintly hear the tune of the song they’re working on playing. He looks back over to your slumped frame, a deep frown between your brows.
"Whatcha up to?" his voice breaks you from your thoughts and you jump, looking up at him. You put on your best smile and shake your head at him.
"Nothing," you thought you were much more convincing than you actually were but nothing gets past your overly observant and absolute sweetest boyfriend.
"Then why do you look like you're about to burst into tears at any moment?" he asks, raising his eyebrows at you. You can't tell him it's because you are so you clear your throat and look down again as you feel the tears well up.
"It's just..." you pause, swallowing the lump in your throat before glancing down at your phone screen again. "Do you think I'm too... big?" you question, quietly and Chan straightens up, turning to the producer who is in the room with him. He taps his shoulder before asking if he minds if he steps outside for a moment.
There was no hesitation from your boyfriend at all. He never wants to hear you talk about yourself like that and wants to be sure that that is perfectly clear to you.
In an instant, Chan stands and walks over to you, putting both hands out in front of him and pulling you to your feet. He guides you into the vacant hallway and turns, leaning against the wall beside the two of you. He crosses his arms over his chest and gives you a once over.
Your insecurities immediately creep back up and your arms rush to cross over your chest, however, your boyfriend grabs your arms, pulling you closer and wrapping them around his own waist. You let yourself melt into the embrace as Chan places a kiss to your forehead then wraps his arms tightly around you.
You let out a sigh and pull yourself even closer to your boyfriend. His scent and body heat are enough to help your mind from swarming for at least a moment.
"You do realize that you are the smartest, most talented, beautiful, and amazing person I have ever met, right?” He asks the question like its the most obvious question and you pull away from the hug to look at him.
A blush creeps up his ears but he still holds eye contact. This time, a real smiles slowly makes its way to your face, which he mirrors before leaning in and pressing a kiss to your nose then your lips.
“Feeling a little better, baby?” he questions, his hands still rubbing up and down your back. He’s gentle but precise, knowing exactly where you always get knots at and rubbing a little harder in those spots.
You nod and he leans in again, pressing a gentle kiss to your lips. He stay against you for a moment too long, groaning. He finally pulls away and locks eyes with you.
“And you drive me absolutely crazy. I want you every moment of everyday,” he brushes a hair away from your face before slowly trailing a hand down your arm.
He grabs one of your hands and pulls you back into the studio. He guides you back to where he had been sitting. Before you can protest about being distracting, he’s pulling up a chair next to his recording chair and gently guides you to sit next to him. He smiles at you once more before picking his headphones back up and putting them on his head.
He blindly reaches over to you as you pick your phone up again, rubbing up and down your thigh and playing with your fingers resting there, offering you physical touch and easing your worries.
Lee Know:
Okay, let me preface this by saying that the man is a Scorpio. One of his favorite and most effective ways of reassuring you is making absolutely toe curling, amazing love to you. He's worshipping you and complimenting you the entire time.
That man knows how to freak it and is so in tune with your mind and body that it’s like he already knows exactly what you need to hear before you even tell him.
He’ll notice you staring at yourself a little longer than usual and will be sure to tell you that you look beautiful. He’ll notice you fidgeting with your hair too much and will compliment it or ask if you did something different. He’s just very aware of you.
He wants you to know that he wants every square inch of your body even if you don't like it yourself. You're a gift from heaven in his eyes and he wants to prove it to you.
"O-okay, baby, okay," you whimper out, yanking your boyfriend's hair to pull him from between your thighs. He looks up at you, his chin and mouth wet with you but he makes no effort to actually move from his spot.
"Okay? I'm just getting started, pretty," the smirk on his face sends chills down your spine and he gently kneads at your plush thighs.
"How many more times should I make you cum before you realize how perfect you are?" his voice is muffled when he presses a kiss to the inside of your thigh.
"Just taste so good…" he mumbles mindlessly against your skin, his tongue darting over your hip and sucking a small mark there, "Smell so good," he inhales deeply as he finally makes his way up your body to make eye contact with you.
"You were fucking made for me," he rubs the head of his cock through your soaking folds before sliding in, "F-fuck. Even this pussy was made to take me," he slides out slowly before leaning in and pressing a sloppy, wet kiss to your mouth.
"I don't ever want to hear you making those comments about yourself again. It's an insult to me too," he mumbles against your lips as you nod, mindlessly.
Changbin:
Changbin is the type to be constantly reassuring you because he also needs the same kind of attention. Even if you two argue or he snaps at you or is grumpy, he is always the first to fess up to his actions and apologize. He definitely hates the idea of either of you going to bed mad at each other.
You and your boyfriend had gotten in a stupid argument. So stupid that you don't even remember what it was about in the first place. However, you’re far too stubborn to admit that.
When you walk into the kitchen, you try your best to ignore your boyfriend scrolling through social media at the dining table. His empty bowl sits in front of him, he had eaten the portion you prepared for him. You smile a little to yourself, happy that despite him being upset with you, he would never deny something you make for him.
You reach into the cupboard and place a glass on the counter. The clink of the glass hitting the granite feels like it echoes around the apartment with the tense silence between the two of you.
You pull the fridge open and pull out the water before you hear Changbin sigh and place his phone down on the table. You begin to pour your water into the glass and glance over your shoulder at him as he runs his fingers through his hair.
"Still not talking to me?" He questions and you roll your eyes before returning the water to the fridge and taking a sip from your glass. You turn to face him, leaning back against the counter top.
"Baby, I know that you're upset but I have to go record and I don't want to leave things like this," he stands and walks over to you, leaning against the island opposite from you and crossing his arms over his chest.
You take a sip of your water as you lock eyes with him, still refusing to speak.
"Even if I am upset with you, I love you. And even if you act like a little kid," he pushes off the counter and closes the space between you, grabbing the glass from your hand and putting it down behind you.
"I still love you, endlessly. You're the only person for me in this entire universe, okay?" he asks, placing a hand on either side of you, trapping you between his body and the counter.
You feel a blush rush up your neck at his comment and you can barely suppress the smile making it's way to your face. He notices and leans in, pressing a kiss to the tip of your nose and poking you in the ribs at the same time. You jump and let the smile spread.
"Hey! Not fair. Tickle spot is cheating," you giggle out and he leans towards you again. You close the gap, pressing a kiss to his plump lips.
"Tell me you love me back before I die please," he speaks against your lips and you laugh at his antics, completely over the argument already.
"I also love you, endlessly," you pause and lock eyes with him again, "You big softie," the tease quickly turns into a tickle fight and your boyfriend is still late to his recording session.
Hyunjin:
Definitely the type to absolutely worship your body. Would put you in front of a mirror and point out all his favorite places to kiss, hug, touch. And, of course, would paint endless portraits of you. He might even paint directly on your body, using his favorite places as a canvas.
"I look kind of weird in that. You can see all my little blemishes and scars," you scrunch your nose up at the picture that your boyfriend is showing you.
You two had recently moved in together and you suggested that it would be cute and unique if your boyfriend were to paint something to hang in the empty space above your couch.
"First of all, you do realize that you're just raw beauty on two legs, right?" His words immediately make a blush force it's way up your neck and you bury your face in your hands.
"You can't say things like that! You're too fucking sweet!" you splutter out and peek through your fingers to look at your boyfriend. His eyes are darting around the room and around his paints and you slowly bring your hands down, tilting your head at your cute boyfriend. You can practically see the gears turning in his head.
"What's going on in that pretty little head of your's?" You tease him, taking a step towards him but he stand quickly, grabbing a few paints and a few paint brushes and guides you out of the room, towards your half assembled bedroom.
Pushed against one random wall is the huge fully body mirror you had bought. He wraps a hand around your shoulders and pulls you towards the mirror.
"Baby, what are you-"
"I'm gonna show you," he interrupts you and you turn towards him to question what the hell he means but he speaks up again before you can, "Don't move," he demands and you close your mouth, facing the mirror again.
Hyunjin approaches you and slides his hands under your tank top, pulling it over your head, leaving you in just a pair of sleep shorts.
"I love these perfect tits," he wraps both of his big hands around each of your breasts from behind, squeezing the flesh and causing a hum to fall from your lips.
His hands trail down and his nimble fingers are pulling your shorts down your legs, along with your underwear. He squats behind you as you step out of both. He presses a kiss to the back of one of your soft thighs then another to one side of your ass before standing again and looking at you through the mirror.
You're too entranced by his gaze to notice he has dipped a paintbrush into a pretty pink paint and it isn't until it touches your skin that you notice what he's doing. You jump at the cool contact of the wet paint.
"You are so insanely beautiful. I feel like the luckiest man on earth every time I lay my eyes on you," he traces a stretch mark on your hip with the paint and you gasp at the cold liquid on your heated skin. A blush rushes to your cheeks at his words and he has, once again, rendered you speechless.
"I'm going to show you all my favorite parts of you," he murmurs, pressing a kiss to the side of your neck. Your eyes glance down to where he had painted and you can make out the beginning shape of a beautiful flower, blossoming from your insecurities.
Han:
He definitely gets genuinely offended and pouty if he hears you talking bad about yourself. He views you as an extension of himself so if anyone, including yourself, talks bad about you, he feels personally attacked. He also isn't shy about reassuring you, especially if he knows that you like to hear it.
"I don't know man, I think I'll just keep trying to diet and exercise whenever I get the chance. If I could just get my waist a little bit smaller, I would be satisfied," you speak to your best friend on FaceTime, unaware of your eavesdropping boyfriend in the kitchen.
"Oh shut up. You're hot and you have a hot boyfriend who makes sure you know it too!" she exclaims with a chuckle and a half laugh leaves your lips before you roll over onto your back on the couch.
"Maybe, but still. I feel like I should look better, not just for him but for everyone. I don't want him too get too far out of my league," you joke, making you and your best friend laugh but Han frowns in the next room.
He lets you and your friend talk for a few more minutes before he can't help but enter the room to talk to you. He walks over to the couch and you tilt your head to look up at him when he stands at the end of the couch.
"Hi," you smile up at him, handsome as ever even from this angle.
"Hello, my baby," he leans down and presses a kiss to your forehead, making your best friend gag before she hangs up. You chuckle and your boyfriend circles the couch before settling between your legs and laying his head on your chest. He wraps his arms under your waist and your hands automatically move to the familiar position that you two are often in, his head on your chest, one of your hands in his hair, and the other rubbing his back gently.
It's quiet for a few minutes and you can tell something is up. You're a pro at Han Jisung vibe checks and his vibe is way off.
"Everything okay?" your voice is soft, chest vibrating against his cheek. He adjusts his position on the couch, before looking down at you. You wrap your arms around his neck, one of his hands gently rubbing your hip while his other elbow holds him up. His eyes dart across your face and you swallow at the unexpected attention, feeling a bit shy beneath his gaze.
"Dude, you're literally so beautiful that I want to cry sometimes. You realize that, right?" his voice is so genuine that you're actually speechless for a few seconds but he speaks up again before you can.
"I don't want to hear you talking about my lover like that ever again. You're so not out of my league. Everyone actually tells me it's the other way around," he lets a shy smile make it's way to his face and you tighten your grip around his neck, pulling his lips to your's.
"God, I fucking love you. How did I get so damn lucky?" you mutter against his lips and he chuckles, kissing you again.
Felix:
Felix will pull up photos that he has taken of you either to your knowledge or not. A little shy to bring up the photos he took without you knowing but can't stop taking them because in his eyes, you are the most beautiful thing he has ever seen.
He genuinely can't comprehend that you believe you have anything to be insecure about because he literally worships the ground you walk on. He tries to understand your insecurities but it’s hard for him.
"Lix, I'm gonna look terrible in that," you point at the straps on the side of the dress that he wants you to try on, "Those straps are gonna squeeze my rolls," you say the words without thinking much about it.
"And?" he cocks his head to the side, still trying to push the dress into your hands.
"And," you push the dress back towards him, "I'm already big enough, I don't need to look even bigger," you state matter a factly.
Once again he looks at you with that cute little head tilt, a small pout on his lips at your refusal and your comments about yourself.
"Just try it on. If you hate it, we won't get it," he tries to convince you and you sigh, turning to continue picking through the clothes on the rack.
"I'll probably cry if it looks too bad right now," your voice isn't much louder than a whisper, anybody else wouldn't be able to hear the two of you in the store.
"Why?"
"Felix." you drop your forehead to the cool metal of the rack and and let out another sigh.
"I just want to know what you mean by that. I'm not trying to offend you, just wanna understand you better is all," the tone in your boyfriend's voice shatters your heart and you look over at him, his eyes casted down to the floor.
"Baby, I'm sorry. It's just that that dress isn't going to look flattering on me," you grab his hand, intertwining your fingers, "I would gush out the sides around those straps," you point at the straps on the dress still in his other hand.
"For some reason the thought of that is making me hard," He speaks up and you immediately slap both your hands over his mouth.
"Felix!" you scold in a whisper yell, a blush rushing up your neck. He chuckles behind your hands and you can't help but laugh along with him.
"You're a handful," you snatch the dress from him and make your way towards the dressing room.
"I'm trynna get a handful of you," he puncuates his sentence with a slap to your ass, making you laugh again.
"You're so corny," you roll your eyes as he follows closely behind you.
"You love corn," you can't object to that. When you do finally give him the satisfaction on trying on the dress, he fully convinces you that you must buy it or he will die. He doesn't even let you have an opinion, even going as far to just buy it for you!
Seungmin:
My words of affirmation boy!! He doesn't say much sappy or lovey dovey things so when he does, it's just that much more believable. You whole heartedly believe him when he drops the teasing, tsundere act and gives you a genuine compliment.
You stare at your reflection in your mirror. Your hair isn't cooperating, your makeup looks off, you don't know what to wear and you're just overall frustrated with your appearance. You had been staring at yourself for too long in the mirror and begun over analyzing your face.
By the time your boyfriend gets home from errands, you're already fighting the tears. Then he walks into the bedroom in all his perfect glory, backwards hat and flawless face and skin. In his hands is a dozen sunflowers for the vase that you keep on your vanity.
"Do you like these? I thought they were very pretty. They remind me of that time that-" he looks up from the flowers and sees the tears brimming your eyes, "Are you okay?" he immediately sits the flowers down and rushes towards you before kneeling before you and placing your face in his hands.
Hearing his worry for you is enough to have the water works flowing and before you know it, you're in a full mental breakdown in his arms. You throw yourself into him, knocking him onto his butt as you cry into his shirt.
"Shh, it's okay, baby. You're okay. You're okay," he's rubbing your back and scratching your scalp and if you were more sane, you would be listening to his heart beat and realizing just how freaked out he is. He's never seen you breakdown like this before and especially for seemingly no reason.
"Why do you even like me? You're so perfect, so beautiful, so amazing and I'm just... me," you blubber out against his shirt and he freezes for a second, realizing that you had gotten into your own head.
"I don't just like you," he pauses and grabs your chin, tilting your face up to look at him. When he locks eyes with your distraught ones, he swears he can feel his heart breaking.
"I adore you. You're the only one in the world who I can love. You've made me into a better person just by loving me," more tears pour from your eyes at his sweet words.
It's so rare that Seungmin gets sentimental like this. You prefer it that way because when you do get the privilege to hear these sweet words from him, you know he truly means it.
"Even when you have snot all over your face," he uses the sleeve of his hoodie to wipe your nose, making you chuckle through the tears, "I still think you are the most beautiful thing in the world, okay?" He finishes, brushing some hairs away from your face. You nod at him, wiping some tears away with your own sleeve.
"Uh-uh, I wanna hear you say it. You're perfection in my eyes, you got that?" he asks and you smile again at him, his eyes serious as you have ever seen them.
"Okay," you concede, feeling your spirits beginning to lift already.
"Okay, what?" he asks, raising his eyebrows at you as you sit up, straddling his lap and wrapping your arms around his neck. His arms immediately wrap around your waist, pulling you even closer to him.
"Okay, daddy," you joke and he grunts in annoyance (and maybe something else) at this, rolling his eyes.
"Y/n..."
"Not the government name," you pout before leaning in and pressing a kiss to his lips, "Okay. I'm the most beautiful in your eyes," he nods in approval before kissing you once again. You wrap your arms tighter around his neck, burying your face into his hoodie. It's strong with the scent of him and you feel so lucky to be in this man's arms.
"I adore you too, by the way," you whisper against his neck and he hums in response, his hands rubbing soothingly up and down your back.
I.N:
I.N is the type to reassure you by making you realize how much he depends on you. He makes it clear that you’re important to him no matter what. He always makes you feel like your opinions and thoughts matter, no matter how stupid they are.
He loves to be your personal therapist, letting you rant and complain or ask for advice. He likes that you depend on him just as much as he depends on you.
You continue to ramble as you stir the pot on the stove in front of you. Your boyfriend is sitting at the island, his chin in his hand as he listens and watches you. He admires the way you start to fling the spoon and your hands around when you get particularly passionate about a part in the story.
He loves the way you finish some sentences with, “you know what I mean?” to make sure he’s still listening to you. He doesn’t mind that he hasn’t gotten a word in edgewise besides a right” or “yeah” or just a hum in over 20 minutes.
His phone vibrates on the table and he looks down to see he’a receiving a FaceTime call from Chan.
“Hold that thought, babe,” he stops you and you glance over your shoulder when you hear the call connect.
“Are you hungry? I was planning to stop and get some food on the way home,” you hear Chan’s voice over the phone and turn back towards the stove.
“Ahh, y/n is here. She’s cooking and talking. I’m sure there will be enough for you if you want some,” he glances up at you and you nod in agreement. You had grown used to making food for his old roommates so you often made too much food for just two people.
“Ahh cooking and talking as usual. The lovebirds. Well, I’ll be home as soon as I wrap up here. Love you guys!” Jeongin says something else but you aren’t hearing anything.
What did he mean by as usual? Like how you’re always talking? Is it really that annoying?
“Babe? Did you hear me?” you jump when your boyfriend’s voice is much closer than you expected, dropping the spoon and splattering sauce all over the floor.
“S-sorry. I’m sorry,” you speak out, bending down to pick up the spoon but Jeongin is faster, grabbing the spoon off the floor and placing it in the sink. He grabs some paper towels and cleans the mess for you as you grab a different spoon to finish stirring.
“What’s wrong? Are you hurt? Did it burn you?” Jeongin’s voice is full of concern when he hears you sniffle. You turn your head towards him, eyes red and tears threatening to make their way down your cheeks.
“I’m okay. It’s just… do I talk too much? I’m sorry. I always get told I talk to much. If you ever want me to stop, you can tell me to shut up or whatev-”
“Shut up,” he interrupts you and you freeze, so you do talk too much?
“You don’t talk too much, babe. Your voice is my favorite sound and I can never get enough of it. Don’t ever stop being a chatter box, got it?” he raises his eyebrows at you and you nod.
“I love hearing all your silly little thoughts and opinions, no matter how small they may be. I actually feel so antsy when you’re not around and I’m sitting in silence. Makes me realize how much I need you around. What would I do without you? I think I would die of boredom…” he trails off when he notices the smile that has grown on your face.
“Now look who is the chatterbox. It appears I’m rubbing off on you Innie. You just went on a tangent,” you tease and he pushes your shoulder, looking away from you shyly.
“Shut up,” he mumbles and you laugh again at his cute reaction.
“Can’t make me now. You already said you like to hear me yap,” you turn the cap to simmer and step towards your boyfriend, wrapping your arms around his waist and pressing a kiss to his lips.
“You’re the cutest, y’know?” you compliment him before leaning in again and biting down on his chest.
“Hey!” he whines, swatting you away.

be young, be dope, be proud
dynasty heir Aemond x heiress reader
Tumblr media
a/n: randomly and carelessly drafted after a night out, so don't even ask me what this is. I feel like the setting here is an acquired taste. so, enjoy? 💁🏼‍♀️🤍
themes/warnings: spoiled rich assholes, New York/modern references, language, clichés galore, Targs are like the Kennedys if that whole family was pure evil and Rep, SMUT, angst between brats who clearly want each other, also—you're kind of a hypocrite
main masterlist
Tumblr media
The estate reeks with old money: marble columns, ancestral portraits, and a long dining table loaded with crystal and silver. Chandeliers try to warm the place, but it's all cold opulence. Outside, the gardens are cut and tamed to show that even nature has a price.
Your father always brings the family along to stately dinners up there in Westchester, with the usual crowd in attendance—the Targaryens, the Velaryons, the Lannisters—the whole lot.
Between them, they could probably purchase every building in Manhattan without creating a single dent in the bank.
Hell, maybe they already have. Generational wealth truly is the gift that keeps on giving.
You've tried to distance yourself from it. From people whose words drip poisoned honey and condescension. Being waited on like new order royalty.
But who are you to talk, when your father's lineage traces back to the fucking Mayflower? You and them are one and the same—filthy rich and borderline insane.
It is nearly impossible to maintain a steady sense of self, to have ample room for personal growth, when everything, every single thing, is handed to you on a silver platter. There is no tension there, no struggle, no need to exert any effort.
Failed your courses? Your father donates a building to the university. Aemond gets several DUIs? His great-uncle is a Supreme Court Justice. Aegon nearly burns his friend's house down while throwing a bacchanal-themed party? Let's just say that friend is grounded. For a week. Oh, the horror. Their family had many other estates, in many other places anyway.
When there are no real repercussions to your actions, you will feel like you can do just about whatever you want.
Burn the world down, for all you care. You can just buy a new, better one.
Granted, not everyone in your circle is an entitled egotist. There's Helaena, who strangely enough, does not possess a single self-important bone in her body, unlike her aforementioned brothers. Jace, who spends most of his time getting involved in political activism, for the side that his magnate grandfather Viserys steadfastly opposes.
You'd always sit beside either of them in these dinners, for the sake of your sanity. Unfortunately, Aemond and Aegon are never far. Especially Aemond—who occassionally stares you down as he sits across the table. Aegon, seated to his left, whistles at you. "Hey. Hey so... are you still slumming it with the art crowd?"
"I'm sorry?" You narrow your eyes at him. He didn't even say hello or mind if I cut in? as Jace was telling you about attending the DNC rally.
Aemond watches you again, so closely it raises goosebumps along your arms. He's been stealing glances at you ever since you arrived with your family. And you've been openly shooting glares at him when you sense it. Him and that steely one-eyed gaze of his always gets under your skin.
Aegon sneers, and you think how it's so in character of him. "You still live in Brooklyn? Cosplaying as a normie?"
"Fuck off, Aegon."
You've been living in Brooklyn for the past year, trying to finish up your Masters from Barnard. You would never hear the end of how this is the most redundant and useless thing, especially from people like Aegon. It does seem contrived, daddy's little heiress playing at being a scholar at Columbia, but at least you are doing something.
Besides, you have no desire to take over your family's empire. If anything, you want to branch out, maybe take on Jace's proposal on starting a charity foundation together.
"Aegon! Do you know how messed up that sounds?" Jace comes to your rescue, but you know it'll be for nought. Aegon's brain is too warped, too silver-spoonfed, to recognise his folly. You used to feel sympathy for the guy—this life is all he's ever known, and it isn't as if the adults around him ever set a good example, so can you blame him?
Used to. Now, he just annoys you. You grew up the same, but you are not like him, aren't you? So did Hel and Jace. So did Aemond. And Aemond, while still an asshole, is at least someone you can tolerate. He's vicious when it comes to his ambition, but he's genuinely smart.
He's cold and aloof, but he is also capable of tenderness.
You would never readily admit to anyone how you know this about him.
And he's staring you down, once again. You immediately know it's him when you feel someone nudge your shin under the table.
You eye him warily. What do you want?
He raises his eyebrows. Nothing. Just missed you.
At least that's what you're picking up from him. Why wouldn't he miss you? You're probably the best thing in his life right now. He should be so grateful you're still giving him the time of day, especially after everything he's done.
Aemond nods ever so subtly, the gesture meant for only you. You already know what he's getting at, but you don't feel like caving just yet.
It's another long moment of tuning in and out of your conversation with Jace, but Aemond's unspoken question lingers. When you deign to look at him again, he tilts his head the side. Let's go.
He knows to leave first, and he stands and excuses himself from the table. Barely anyone gives him any mind, the adults debating passionately at the farther end.
You wait one whole minute, your heels tapping impatiently under the table. Then you follow suit.
"I need some air. Might have a smoke or something," you mumble to Jace. He wouldn't want to tag along, the scrunch of his face revealing how much he loathes the habit.
"Just the one," he tuts, raising a finger.
You roll your eyes fondly. "Okay, dad."
Aemond has just lit a cigarette when he hears you come in. The door to the private library lets out a tiny creak then shuts without a sound. He faces the window, his back to you. But he knows it's you. He can almost hear the derision in your exhale. A hint of your unmistakeable Guerlain scent is present in the room.
When you draw closer, he sees the ghost of your reflection on the glass, a mirage perched atop his shoulder. He thinks of the age-old visual of having an angel and a devil on either side. You would be the angel, and the devil... would probably be his own self.
The side he fights to keep buried. He knows you see it, and hate it, but you want him anyway. You let him have you anyway. And these stolen moments with you are the only times when he is truly free.
Without a word, he offers a cigarette to you, his hand moving with a smooth, practiced form that makes it feel like he's not just offering you a smoke but issuing a silent challenge. He lifts his lighter, an intricate, expensive thing engraved with his family crest, flicking it open with a soft metallic click, then holding the flame steady as you lean in.
He can't help but admire how beautiful you are as the glow illuminates your face.
"Do you ever get bored?" you sneer, folding your arms as you lean against a shelf. "Sitting there all night with that smug, 'yes, I agree with all of this' look while your family drones on about the 'sanctity of tradition.' Like a good little heir."
Aemond raises an eyebrow, barely looking up from his cigarette as he takes a drag. You sure have a habit of getting right down to business. "Funny," he replies smoothly. "For someone who 'hates' tradition, you play the part of Daddy's obedient little princess pretty well. I saw you batting your eyes at every gray-haired councilman at that table."
"Oh, please." You roll her eyes, heat flaring in your cheeks, though whether from anger or the way his gaze always seems to pin you in place, despite your best efforts, you can't say. "I'm not doing it because I like it. I don't sit there pretending I'm better than the rest of the world."
"You don't?" He cocks his head, his lips quirking into a wry, infuriating smirk. "Could’ve fooled me, princess. All I ever hear from you in these dinners 'Oh, absolutely' and 'Oh, that's so interesting'—like you'd just die if they didn't think you cared."
"Wow, okay, says the guy who spent twenty minutes nodding along while they debated the tax breaks for HNWIs. Planning to cut yourself some more slack there, hotshot?" You take a quick, sharp puff, the smoke billowing out of your lips as you continue your tirade. "You're a damn statue, Aemond. Most of the time, you don't even say a word, and yet somehow you sit there looking like everyone should be grateful you graced them with your presence."
He takes a step closer, and his voice drops. This is something only you can do—you get to him, you hit him where it matters. Or, you're the only one he allows the privilege of doing so. "And you hate it, don't you? You hate that I don't care what they think. That I'm not actually here to impress anyone."
Your laugh comes out bitter. "Please. You don't care because you're so convinced they already think you're perfect. You don't have to impress anyone because you're Aemond Targaryen, right? The perfect heir to a glowing legacy."
"Better that than playing the poor, tortured rebel." He's so close you can count the facets of the sapphire in his socket, a dangerous gleam flashing behind them—another outlandish, excessive thing only a billionaire's son would think to do. "At least I'm not pretending I want to burn it all down while running around in the same circles as everyone else. Tell me, do you actually care about the policies Jacaerys painstakingly explains to you? Or is it all just for show?"
"You don't know me, Aemond."
"Oh, but I do. In fact, I think I'm the only one who knows the real you."
You clench your jaw, craning your neck up to look at him. How ironic that he literally has to look down on you too. "Unlike you, I actually feel something about all this. You sit there like you're above it all, and it's pathetic."
"Pathetic?" He lets out a low, humorless laugh. "You want to talk about pathetic? The only thing pathetic is you standing there acting like a revolutionary when you're just like the rest of us."
"At least I want to get out. At least I want to make a goddamn difference and—"
"Then do it," he says, his tone mocking, as he leans in closer, his breath warm against your face. "Get out. Run off, make your big escape. Show everyone how different and special you are, princess."
"Oh, right," you shoot back, trying to regain some of your moxie after his unexpected retort. "And leave you to taint my image after then?"
He scoffs, the gesture dismissive, almost cruel. "You wouldn't be here if you actually had the guts to go through with it."
Aemond may be a pretentious asshole, but he's right, and you know it. "You know what, Aemond? What if... I tell you that I like it. The power, the status, all of it. Is that what you want to hear?"
He smirks. "You'd be adrift without it. You'd be lost without all this to complain about." His gaze drops to your mouth, as if he could already guess exactly how a rendezvous like this is going to end.
How it always ends.
You feel your breath hitch, your pulse racing even as you grit your teeth against the draw of him.
"Don't look at me like that," you snap, trying to keep the upper hand. You should leave. You know this, know you should storm out and leave him here with that damn arrogant smirk on his face.
Call it a truce, and do it all over again next time.
"What's wrong? Afraid you'll do something you'll regret?"
The challenge in his tone has you seething, heat blazing up your neck. "You're insufferable, you know that?” You try to sound as furious as you feel, but your voice wavers, and the corner of his mouth tilts in a dark, smug smile.
"Then leave, princess." His eyes flash, daring you, mocking you, yet he doesn't move back. "Go on. Show me that strength you keep talking about."
The words are meant to push you away, to test how much you can take, but they do something else instead. They push you over the edge, sending you surging forward before you even know what you're doing, fisting the front of his pristine shirt and yanking him down to you.
Your mouth meets his, all anger and fire, biting at his lips as he smirks against you, welcoming the aggression. His hands find your waist, pawing at your gown, pushing you back until you stumble against the bookshelf.
You try to hold onto the anger, to use it to keep yourself in control, but the way he kisses you—rough, possessive, familiar, with a hunger that seems to match yours—makes it impossible. His hands slip to your hips, fingers digging into you with a desire that you both pretend doesn't exist anywhere but here, in the dark corners of your little meeting places.
"Stop," you gasp for breath, pulling away for just a second, trying to steady yourself, but he follows, his mouth trailing down your jaw to your neck, biting down just enough to make you groan.
His fingers slip beneath the slit of your dress, finding bare skin. "Then tell me you don't want this."
Your head tilts back involuntarily, the blissed hitches in your breath becoming frequent. You should tell him to stop, but the words never come, not with his fingers tracing up your thigh, the pressure of his lean body against yours, the electric shiver that races through you as his mouth tongue dances with your own.
You give in, letting your anger melt into something messier, something that's been building between you both for so long you don't know how to unravel it. Your hands move to his white-blonde hair, pulling him closer. His hand slips higher, while the other is braced against the bookshelf behind you.
There's nothing careful about it—gone are the dynasty heirs who are unfailingly curated and perfect and genteel in the public eye. It's all frantic, hands grabbing, mouths clashing, neither of you willing to let the other take control but both of you giving in to the heat. He yanks your dress up, lifting you and positioning himself between your legs, his breathing rough as he makes quick work of his belt. Then he lets his trousers and underwear drop halfway down his thighs, and his cock springs free, pressing on the draped material of your gown, which you hurriedly bunch to the side.
It's like a sick power play when he takes two fingers and plunges them past your soaked entrance, right to his knuckles. All without breaking eye contact.
But neither has the upper hand. You and Aemond are one and the same.
"Seems like you're ready for me, princess."
"Mhmm, aghh—" He hooks his fingers inside you, hitting that damned spot. "Just fuck me already."
And when he does, his cock practically propping you up against the bookshelf, it's fast, chaotic, your movements nothing short of needy and desperate, as if you're both trying to prove something to the other. You don't care about the priceless first-edition books that rattle precariously behind you, nor about the way his fingers dig into your flesh that guarantee bruises that will show tomorrow. Right now, you're past caring, past pretending that you actually ever cared about anyone but yourself.
And maybe... Aemond.
His groans come out unrestrained against your neck, his tongue flicking over the droplets of sweat, as if he can't bear you being any less than perfect.
Only he can taint you, only he can see you broken in and fucked out like this, your lipstick smeared to the side of your mouth. That same shade of rouge littering his cheek, his jaw, the collar of his shirt.
No words are exchanged, as if they've been used up in your twisted version of foreplay from earlier.
All he offers is, "Fuck, baby, I'm close," as his hips continue in its assault, his hands buried in the softness of your arse, keeping you in place.
"So am I," you counter.
He falls apart inside you, his cock sputtering while lodged deep in your clenched walls. The near-animalistic growl he lets out brings you to your climax, your forehead falling against his as your entire body is rendered limp in his arms.
When you finally pull away, flushed, your heart still racing, he looks at you with that same arrogant smirk, and you can't help but feel the distaste rising back up.
"Still think I don't know you?" he murmurs, smug satisfaction written all over his face.
You glare at him, pulling your dress back down, refusing to let him have the last word even as his expression uncharacteristically softens as he gazes at you, making you want to pull him close and kiss him again. Gentler, this time.
"This can't happen again," you force out your usual lie.
"That's what you said last time, princess."

Now, more than ever, we need to be careful about spreading misinformation and rumors
I can guarantee that over the next few months, we'll be hearing about a lot of alarming things going on here in the US. Some of those things will be true, and some won't. (And some will have both true and false or exaggerated elements.)
It's going to be absolutely vital that important information is not drowned out by misinformation, rumors, and ragebait.
That means, when you see something that would be important if true, before sharing, you check whether it's actually true.
In library world, we use the acronym SIFT:
STOP: Don't spread the information, or get caught up in your emotional reaction to it, before you've checked it out. INVESTIGATE: Who is saying it? How do they know? If there are links or sources in the post, do they actually say what the person is saying they do? FIND other coverage: Do an internet search for key details: quotes, people's names, specific locations. If something major is happening, there will normally be a lot of coverage. TRACE claims, quotes, and media back to their original context.
Usually you don't need to do all four things: just STOP and then pick what makes sense from the other three. If you decide to share the information, you can also say what you did--"This is a firsthand account from XYZ protest; it lines up with what the local TV station is saying, but has a lot more details about what the cops did," or whatever.
The more urgent the information seems, the more important it is to make sure it's reliable.
If we're hearing every other day that this or that vulnerable group is in immediate, life-threatening danger--but 49 times out of 50 it turns out to mean Trump rambled somewhere about something which, if actually implemented, could end up having the described consequences at some point down the line--then people aren't going to know the difference the one time in 50 when the danger really is immediate.
Think, here, things like immigration crackdowns, CPS investigations into parents who affirm a trans child's gender, or demands that health care providers report miscarriages to law enforcement. We all know that these are things Trump World talks about a lot and would like to be able to do, in some form. For the sake of the people affected by these topics, we need different ways of talking about, "Here they are, back on their bullshit," versus, "This is a policy proposal for a real thing that could happen," versus, "Holy shit, grab the kids and run."
We cannot go to "Holy shit, grab the kids and run" every time Trump, or someone in his inner circle, decides to bloviate about something that could disastrously affect people lives. The people who are most in danger can't stay at DefCon 5 every day of their lives, and when they do really have to grab the kids and run, we need that alarm to be heard over the constant background hum of dread.
The same goes for action items--whether protests, ways to help, or little things people can do to stay safe/sane. There's going to be plenty going on, and nobody is going to be able to do everything, so do your part by passing along those things that you can vouch are true and important, and skipping the things you aren't sure about.
I'll leave you with an example. Remember how a few years ago, we were all-in about hand hygiene and disinfecting surfaces? And then it turned out that those were not actually very important in terms of preventing the transmission of COVID-19, and what we really need is better air filtration in public spaces--but, at my work at least, we still have canisters of surface-disinfecting wipes sitting around, and tattered old signs up about hand hygiene, and no air filters.
At the time, early in the pandemic, we were sharing the best information we knew about how to stay safe, but people got a little too fixated on that initial advice--remember how people would wipe down their groceries? And those little sticks for pressing elevator buttons?--and then when the advice changed, they didn't want to hear about it.
Distrust, fatigue, superstitious attachment to the old grocery-wiping ways--there were a lot of reasons, but the key thing to take away is that attention, energy, and goodwill are all finite resources. Try to avoid wasting it with grocery-wiping--or worse, shilling for the guy selling little sticks to press elevator buttons with.

Ahhh it's been 65 years, and I feel kinda crazy that I've had this sitting in my drafts for like 2 months. Assuming most readers of Missing Moments are also The Art of Being Seen readers- there's some hefty lore here that will come into play later.
prev/ next
Olive: Time to move on, right Kia?
[phone pings]
Nancy: Hello darling. Do you have a moment to talk?
Olive: Who’s this?
Olive: I don’t recall saying yes.
Nancy: [sighs] It feels so good to hear your voice again.
Olive: I only answered to tell you to block me.
Nancy: I would never.
Olive: Even though I asked?
Nancy: Well. I am incredibly selfish.
Olive: Why did you call me?
Nancy: I would like to see you, Olivia. Please.
Olive: I’m not for sale, sorry.
Nancy: I know. I wouldn’t want to meet on those terms again. If I could do it all over, I would have asked you to have dinner with me when I met you. I would have courted you properly, Olivia.
Olive: [scoffs] You would have gone to a strip club and asked a stripper to have dinner with you? Seriously? When would we have ever met under any other circumstance? It’s been made very clear to me how different we are. The only way this would have happened was if it were a fairy tale.
Nancy: What matters is, I have met you. I’ve experienced you and I can’t go back. My husband- my ex husband- he signed the petition for our divorce. I came out to him- officially. It’s over.
Olive: [stunned] That’s- that’s great. I am so happy for you-
Nancy: I’m leaving all of it. I’m starting over. All I want is you, if you’ll have me.
Olive: [sighs]
Nancy: Let’s just have one dinner and after we’ve talk, then you can decide. There’s so much I want to say, but I want to look you in the eyes as I say it.
Olive: One dinner?
Nancy: One dinner.
Nancy: May I see you tonight? I’ll send my driver and I’ll cook for you at my place. Anything you like.
Olive: Tonight is fine.. sure.
Nancy: [sighs happily] It’ll be hard not to kiss you the moment I see you-
Olive: Not too much, lover girl. It’s one dinner and I’m still very annoyed with you about all this, ok?
Nancy: Yes, my love. I’ll see you tonight.
Olive: And don’t look at me like that. It’s just dinner and a conversation, ok? I am not going to sleep with her ok?
Malcolm: Well. Now I see why my mother was so willing to ruin an entire empire over you. Those mugshots did you no justice.
Olive: What is this? Where’s Nancy?
Malcolm: I noticed our driver was heading this way, I figured I’d tag along. Sight see. Get in. Let’s chat.
Malcolm: I wonder if this feels like dejavu to my mother. She makes yet another thoughtless mistake and someone comes along to make it all go away. She has a nasty habit of that, you know.
Olive: Listen. I’m not feeling whatever family drama you all have going on. I don’t want to talk to you. I want to talk to Nancy.
Malcolm: I was raised by a narcissistic liar and a spineless coward. If I let this company fall apart, then wouldn’t it all had been for nothing?
Olive: [scoffs] So you want pity? I’m suppose to pity you? Give me a break.
Malcolm: Not pity, no. If anything, I pity you.
Olive: Is that right?
Malcolm: When it comes to success, you pale in comparison to your half siblings. You’ve financially crippled your parents in legal fees since your arrest and all you have to show for it is by shaking ass in a low end strip club in the Spice District. That’s right, I know alot about you Olivia Briar.
Malcolm: I know about that quaint little family of yours down in the country. I know about your niece’s struggling restaurant and her undocumented partner. Funny, he’s able to acquire loans under a fake name but there’s no records of a Noa Briar anywhere. I wonder what else your family is hiding.
Olive: [shaken] What is this about? Are you threatening me? What the fuck do you want?
Malcolm: I’m here to help you, not hurt you. One of the greatest lessons I’ve ever learned was the power of the dollar. I can make a lot of your problems go away with one deposit if you do just one thing.
Olive: [softly] ....What?
Malcolm: We’re going to turn around and park in front of your building. You’re going to go upstairs, pack up your things and then, you’re going to go back home to sweet old Henford. You’ll pay your parents back with the money you’ll receive from this arrangement and you’ll help your niece and nephew. All your problems - poof- gone.
Malcolm: All you have to do is walk away, and stay away. You see, my mother has a nasty debt to this family she still needs to pay. Don’t make it your burden.

The doorbell buzzes. You loathe that noise. You stay as you are, unbothered by the visitor. You already hear Kitty asking Adrienne who it could be.
You continue to shuffle through the contents of the cigar box. You’re neither surprised or disgusted by the love letters. You know your mother’s writing and you know it isn’t here. You always assumed your father was rotten to the core. No, you were certain of it. The proof only makes you feel worse for your mother.
The door opens. There’s voices. Soft tones. Kitty’s, Adrienne’s and... his.
Then, footfalls that ascend the stairs. Too heavy to be your sisters’. You close the box and toss it in the black bag. There is not box to keep. All your father’s stuff needs to go. You have no use for it.
“You know I’m here,” Barnes says as he appears in the doorway.
“I do,” you take the old baseball your father made you catch as a girl. He was always disappointed he never had a son. It makes you want to smile knowing he never got the thing he wanted the most.
“You’ve had your time to mourn,” he says, and nothing else. His meaning is clear.
You drop the ball and get off the floor. You cross to him with your head down. He’s stoic and still. You reach for his hand. That makes him flinch. As if he’s surprised. He lets you lift it and you kiss the ring on his pinky.
You let him go and look him in the face, “he’s gone. It’s over. Let’s move on.”
His brow arches and his eyes narrow. “You understand what happens now?”
“You take care of my sisters. That’s all that matters to me.”
“All about family,” he remarks. “Well, real family.”
You’re silent. You don’t know what he wants you to say. Your heart is in your throat, can’t he see it beating there, choking you.
“I showed you my loyalty. I did that and I will never tell a soul.”
“Oh, I know, doll,” he smirks and shifts his weight. It’s your turn to wince as he brushes his knuckles along your cheek. “I don’t just want that loyalty for one night.”
You blink and fight not to let your fear show. It’s all so uncertain yet deep down you know exactly what he means. It just seems all too much.
“Sit down,” he drops his hand and turns. He shuts the door.
You avoid your father’s bed and instead, sit at the vanity where your mother would perch and apply her night cream. He paces and puts his hands in his pockets. He exhales and measures the air.
“It’s sorted. Everyone knows what happened. Vengeance is taken, the tables are balanced,” he says. “So we move forward. Your sisters are protected. They will have roofs over their head. You will too.”
You stare at him, waiting for the other shoe.
“Doll,” he tilts his head, “why are you looking at me like that?”
“Just say it,” you sniff.
“Say what?”
“Tell me what it costs,” you sneer.
He snickers, “that’s what I admire about you. You don’t beat around the bush. You come to my office, tell me to off daddy. You won’t even let me charm ya, dammit. You just wanna get down to business.”
“Please,” you beg. “I... I can’t take any more.”
His expression softens and he approaches you delicately, like an animal he doesn’t want to scare off, “we’re gonna have a big wedding, doll. You’re gonna wear the most expensive thing you can find, and we’re gonna drive off into the sunset together.”
You gulp and search his face. It sounds ridiculous. You don’t know this man, he doesn’t know you. Yet, he’s the only man who knows what you did. Who know that you could do something like that.
“Ah, come on, I’m a real man,” he unbuttons his jacket and reaches inside. “I’m more than words.” He takes out a hexagonal velvet box. “So, let me know if it fits.”
You hesitate but accept the box. You open it with some effort, the hinges are tight. You snap the lid up and stare at the ring within. It has a large teardrop diamond at the center and four decent sized ovals to each side, with little round diamonds worked in between. The gold gleams with the elaborate style of the thick band.
You slide it out and turn it in your fingers. It has to be worth more than all the stuff your daddy pawned off. More than even this house. You roll it over again and line up your finger with the band. You push into it and it fits snugly below your knuckle, covering half your finger.
“Too big,” you say.
“Loose?” He wonders as he leans a hand on the vanity table.
“No, it’s... clunky,” you wiggle your hand.
“Never thought I’d hear a woman complain a rock was too big,” he says. “Doll, I expect you to show off. You’re mine, I’m yours. That’s something to brag about.”
“Flashy. Distracting,” you comment.
“Any man stupid enough to try to steal that off ya, he won’t be thinking much longer,” he insists and grabs your hand. “Come here.”
He tugs you until your standing. He admires the ring on your finger and his cheeks dimple as he grins. He puts your hand on his shoulder and wraps his other arm around you. Sweat beads across your scalp and down your back. He’s so close you can smell his mellow cologne.
“Always good to have more to love, isn’t it?” his fingers curl into the cushion of your hip as he crushes you against him. He brings his palm up to cradle your face as his eyes drift down to your lips. He purrs and rocks you.
You shudder as your breath catches in your chest. The idea never fully bloomed in your head. You never dared to imagine this. Yet here it and it’s more startling than anything you could ever fathom.
He turns his hand to frame your chin and pulls you even closer. He leans in and presses his mouth to yours. His beard tickles you as his lips caress yours and his tongue pokes out coyly. You close your eyes as you open up to let him in.
Your heart thrums behind your ears as you seal your deal with that kiss. You didn’t barter for your freedom, just another master.

Luke Hughes, clubs, 16 or 24 or 10
Tumblr media
I chose #10 for this blurb because it was the least requested prompt for Luke :) @sidcrobsimp thank you for requesting <3
Warnings: edging, use of sex toys, overstim, soft!dom Luke WC: 820

Luke has a post-game ritual. Instead of going home, he comes to your apartment. Relatively early in your relationship, but after you’d given him a key to the apartment, he had caught you using your vibrator on yourself. His eyes had grown to the size of saucers and his pupils were blown out as he watched you hold the silicone toy to your clit and writhe against it.
After seeing how much it affected him, you started pleasuring yourself in front of Luke more often. He gets a kick out of telling you what to do exactly, although sometimes he likes to sit back and watch.
Now, he’s come to expect it. When he comes over after playing his heart out, he wants to see you spread out on your bed with a buzzing sensation against your most sensitive parts. Today is no different.
Luke lets himself into your apartment and creeps down the hall, toeing off his shoes and losing his shirt along the way. He’s left in some joggers and his underwear, ready to drop those clothes as soon as he gets to the bedroom, grows abruptly hard, and feels confined by the fabric.
He can hear your little whimpers and gasps before he even enters the room. Before entering the room, Luke adjusts himself in his pants. He doesn’t want to look too excited yet, not when this has happened so many times before and he hasn’t even seen you.
When he pushes the door open, your legs are spread and your cunt is glistening.
“Finally,” you groan, acknowledging Luke’s presence. You hit the button on the vibrator and Luke hears the pace increase. You slide the tip of the vibrator up your slit before settling it against your clit, where it was before.
“Don’t be greedy,” Luke says. “I didn’t tell you to go faster.”
“Is that what we’re doing today?” You ask breathlessly. “You want to be in charge?”
“Inside,” Luke tells you shortly.
You’re quick to obey, filling yourself with the buzzing toy.
“Fix the setting,” Luke adds, which you do. You know what he means– the constant vibration is fine when you’re tormenting your clit, but he prefers an intermittent pattern when you’re full. It keeps you on the edge for longer, teasing you the way Luke enjoys… because you’re always so whiny when you’re nearly there. “That’s my girl. Does it feel good? How long have you been playing with yourself?”
“Since your goal,” you inform him, your eyes fluttering shut. Your hips jerk up, trying to chase the pleasure of the toy inside of you.
Luke’s eyebrows fly towards his hairline. He scored in the second period. You’ve been at this for more than an hour.
“Did you come?” He asks.
You shake your head. “Wanted to wait for you.”
Ugh. Luke loves you. He rids himself of his pants and underwear, joining you on the bed. He brings his hands to your tits, pinching your nipples.
You arch up into his touch, moaning loudly. You turn your face towards Luke, tilting your chin up to invite him to kiss you.
He doesn’t. He pinches your nipples again, getting the same reaction. Luke smirks. “So close already? I’ve barely even touched you.”
“I’ve been doing this for ages,” you explain, confirming the timeline that Luke had already assumed.
“Poor baby,” Luke simpers sarcastically. “Hold it. I’ll tell you when you can come.”
“Luke,” you protest.
“You wanted to wait for me,” Luke reminds you. “So wait until I give you permission.”
With that, he dips his head and starts to kiss over your breasts. Luke sucks bruises onto the skin of your tits, which will be hidden underneath your clothes in the coming days. Still, Luke will know they’re there, and that’s enough.
Your fingers find his curls, twisting them tightly as you try to distract yourself from the sensation.
As his tongue finds your nipple, his fingers start to circle your clit. You jolt against him, and Luke nibbles at the pebbling peak of your tit to berate you for moving. He makes things even more difficult for you by suckling at your breast harshly, fingers pinching your clit playfully.
Although Luke meant to tease you, he had underestimated just how close you were. From the way you seize up and clench his hair, hips twitching helplessly and pressing into his touch, Luke knows that you’ve involuntarily disobeyed his command to hold it.
He grins into your chest. Now, you have to make up for the misgiving– coming again at Luke’s command. He’ll make you hold back as much as you can before finally allowing you that relief, accomplishing his plan by bringing you right to the peak and then taking it all away. His mistake was continuing to touch you when you already said you were so close– but he doesn’t regret it. He doesn’t think you will, either.

A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out
Part 1: Unexpected Faces in Familiar Places
fem!jason todd x fem!reader summary: jay makes a new friend, now if only she could be something more... tags: sexual harrassment, threats of violence, idiots in love, flirting, swearing, sexual tension, semi-public sex, cunnilingus, fingering rated explicit (mdni) | wc: 4.7k a/n: enjoy! i've been having a really shitty week (even before the election) so i scrapped my original intention to only post once it was fully written and decided to just share this with you all
Tumblr media
Jay Todd has the shittiest day to cap off the shittiest week in what feels like forever. Her ribs ache from a hit on Monday that’s still not fully right and she spent most of the day chasing down one of her accountants that had the sheer fucking nerve to try and steal from under her nose. Her knuckles are bloody, she’s on the verge of a stress headache, and all she wants is to drink her goddamn drink in peace. Apparently that’s too much to ask for because she gets a call from Cala down at one of her bars about out of towners harassing the guests and now that just won’t do at all.
Jay bursts into the bar, door hitting the wall with a crash, and oh fuck she forgot her helmet at home so she’s gonna have to do this as Jay, without the weight of the Hood’s legend behind her. Taking a deep breath she squares her shoulders and swaggers in. Zeroes in on the two chucklefucks have that cornered a poor girl sitting at the bar. Notes the way she’s hunched over and pulling down the hem of her skirt to hide her skin from lecherous eyes. Cala buzzes around the scene trying to divert their attention away from poor little miss unlucky but it doesn’t work.
“–m not alone,” Jay hears you say as she strides towards the bar. “I’m waiting on a friend.”
“That so,” the taller of the two men leer. “Well she can just join us too. Plenty of room for more.” The shorter man makes a crude gesture at his crotch and Jay sees red.
“There you are!” She calls out, shoulders past the men without even acknowledging their presence. “Sorry I’m late, traffic was a real bitch. Did you already order our drinks yet?” You look up at Jay with gratitude and something suspiciously like tears shining in your eyes. Fuck. You’re pretty.
“No I– I didn’t know if you were planning on driving so I just waited,” you play along.
Jay goes to take the seat next to you but shoulder slams into a body. She turns and raises a single disdainful eyebrow that she knows for a fact has made grown men cower before.
“You’re in my seat,” she says, low and bored. The man’s face starts to go a horrible shade of red that clashes terribly with his hair.
“So you think you can just butt into a private conversation, bitch?” He snarls, spittle flying.
Jay very conspicuously wipes the front of her leather jacket with a bar napkin. Looks him up and down and smirks.
“I think your conversation was over 30 seconds after you opened your mouth. I bet a lot of things are over in 30 seconds with you,” she tells him coolly.
He opens his mouth to respond, vein pulsing in his forehead but the cock of a shotgun stops him. Cala, blessed Cala, had finally had the distraction she needed to grab the shot gun from under the bar and she is using it to maximum effect.
“Out!” She thunders, waving the shotgun in the men’s faces. “Out and don’t you ever come back. This is one of the Hood’s bars, we’re under her protection and there’s gonna be hell to pay for this.”
Enraged the larger one goes to yell back but the shorter one grabs at his shoulder. Whispers at him to look around at all the hostile faces, the other regulars getting to their feet and cracking their knuckles. Tails between their legs the two nuisances scamper out.
Jay nods at Cala and she calls out “Next round’s on the house!” to the cheers of the room.
Job taken care of, Jay goes to leave when a hand around her wrist, just catching her under the hem of her jacket, freezes her in place.
“Wait!” you call. She turns to look at you properly, the wobble of your lip and the shortness of your skirt from where you’re no longer tugging it down. “Please? I just– I’m worried they’ll be waiting outside for me. I was supposed to meet a date here but they bailed on me and now I have to wait for the next bus to come. Would you stay with me for a bit? Please? I’ll– I’ll buy you a drink for the inconvenience.” And well, Jay always was a sucker for a damsel in distress.
“Sure,” she says, slinging herself lazily back into the bar chair. “It’s no inconvenience but I’ll take that drink. Whoever he is, he’s gotta be mad for standing a pretty girl like you up.”
“Oh um,” you fluster at her words. “Thanks?”
Cala sets down Jay’s usual order for when she’s driving in front of her and refills your drink. Waves off your fumbling with your wallet with a “It’s on the house, chérie. Our apology for the bad night. Besides,”  she nods at Jay “the Boss Lady would not let you pay if you tried.”
You grow more flustered at that and Jay rolls her eyes at Cala’s interfering. She lays a hand on your bare forearm to get you to stop tearing the napkin in your hands to shreds.
“You’re not in any trouble honey,” she says, voice low and soothing. “Just needed a little help, that’s all. Now my name’s Jay and I own this little establishment. Why don’t you tell me a little something about yourself too?”
You stutter and start through your own self-introduction, mascara long eyelashes fluttering at all the attention. Jay’s just so goddamned tempted to press her thumb into the hollow underneath your eyes, see if that’s enough to make the gathering tears of relief spill over. Wants to see your puffy bitten lips wrapped around her fingers rather than your straw. Getting you to talk about yourself seems to work though, familiar territory slowly evening you out. You’re surprisingly witty when you’re not flustered, someone fun to have a conversation over beer with. Time just gets away from under you two, Jay too enthralled with the way your hands move as you tell a story, you too drunk under her attention to bother looking at the time.
A stray notification catches your attention, interrupts your story about how this bar wasn’t even in your bottom five. You roll your eyes at the sender name.
“Jerry,” you answer Jay’s inquisitive look. “Apologizing for standing me up, for all the good that’ll do.” With a flourish you tap at your screen, smile and say “Blocked.”
Jay can feel the corners of her eyes crinkle up in return, simple joy and approval for you cutting the trash out of your life. Not that she’s really entitled to an opinion on it. Your smile lasts a half second longer before suddenly descending into panicking, fumbling out your phone and chanting no no no under your breath.
“I missed the last bus,” you breathe out, eyes wide. Jay’s brain stutters at that, there’s no way you’ve been talking together for four hours. Cala catches her eye and jerks her head up at the big clock hanging over the bar. Fuck. It really has been four hours.
Jay knocks back the last of her beer and stands, extends a hand out to you to help you hop off the bar stool that’s just the wrong side of too tall. Even in your heels Jay’s still got quite a few inches on you.
“C’mon,” she says. “It’s my fault you were out so late, I’ll give you a ride home.”
She leads you outside to where her bike is parked, your palm still in hers.
“I don’t have an extra helmet so you just take mine okay?” She says, putting it on you.
“We’re– we’re going on that?” you squeak out, surprise rendering you docile.
“Yep,” she answers, already straddling the bike, thighs flexing. “Hop on and hold on tight.”
Jay more feels than hears your scream as she revs the engine and takes off, corners maybe just a little too fast to be anything other than showing off. Too soon she pulls up at your front door and already she mourns the feeling of your arms wrapped around her middle. She gives you a hand to help you off the bike again and nearly buckles at the brief glimpse of the black unlined lace panties she sees under your skirt as you swing your leg over the bike. The two of you stand there facing each other, moment stretching out until a car backfires a few blocks over.
“Well, I guess I should get going, “ Jay tells you reluctantly.
“I’ve got work in the morning,” you respond, still not moving. “Wait! D’you want my number or something so we can do this again? Not the first bit obviously, but maybe drinks? Maybe coffee next time?”
And Jay, Jay doesn’t really have a phone besides a collection of burners but for you she’ll keep one on her. “Could always use another friend,” she says slowly, hands her phone over to you anyway. Grinning, you see her off into the night, taillights dissolving into darkness.
Jay calls first, asks about coffee with too much casualness in her voice. Your ensuing enthusiasm sets to right the last of her worries that you’d only offered out of obligation and she sets about monopolizing as much of your free time as she can get away with. Takes you to the movies, to museums, to lunch. Lends you her sweater, her umbrella, her helmet. Actually thinks about buying a second one with how much use you’re getting out of hers. Bitches with you about assholes at work – not that she gives you the full story – and bemoaning the state of customer affairs. Makes you dinner at her apartment and makes a spot for herself on your couch. Worms her way into every corner of your life without regret because you’d tell her if her presence was unwanted. Right?
Leave it to Jay to come back from the dead and still fall in love with a straight girl. Dick teases her about how far she’s willing to bend over backwards for ‘just a friend’ and Jay has to show her teeth and snap back that at least she has some. Has to cover up for the fact that her sanity is hanging by a goddamn thread thinner than that single string that had tied the open sides of your top together that one afternoon, revealing bare skin and the hint of a breast if you leaned just right. The way she almost walked into a wall when she realized you weren’t wearing a bra the first time she came over to your place. How she’s come with the image of your tear-stained face, fingers buried in her cunt. It’s fine! Jay’s fine. Eventually she’ll learn to stop lusting over her darling best friend who looks up at Jay with such sweet trusting eyes, unaware of what an awful lecher she is.
A gala invitation has Jay wishing she could shoot lasers with her eyes and incinerate it. Her eye twitches with annoyance and you snatch it up out of her hands before she can stop you.
“Oh what’s this, a party?” you ask, hair falling down the nape of your neck in a way that has Jay itching to brush it aside and kiss your spine.
“A stupid one,” she answers, not really paying attention.
“But you’ll have to get all dressed up for it! Please, please can I come over and watch you get ready? You never get dressed up,” you pout.
Even with your whining and pouting, Jay can’t help but think she’d still have a better time at the gala with you by her side to distract her from pointed glances and whispers. She sighs. Wait.
“There’s a plus one on that invite,” she tells you nonchalantly, studying your face in her peripheral vision. “You could come if you want, get all dressed up too.”
You stiffen at the question. “You really mean it?” you whisper, hardly daring to breathe.
“Course, but only if you want to,” she offers. You squeal, clutch the envelope to your chest and tackle her.
“It’s short so I’ll probably have to rent a dress and oooh I need to think about makeup, maybe a bold lip? Oh! And I can have another excuse to wear the Jimmy Choos...” you babble in her arms.
“You hate the Jimmy Choos,” Jay reminds you. “Always complain they pinch your feet.”
“Duh,” you tell her, pushing yourself up. “But they make my legs look like sex so I’m wearing them.” Jay has to swallow a couple of times at that, lost in the last time you’d worn them out clubbing and dragged her with you. Your legs had looked like sex, miles of long yummy skin only ending at your barely there mini dress. You prance around the room pulling down dishes for dinner and Jay sighs, melts back into the couch cushions as she listens to you chatter a mile a minute about how excited you are.
Jay’s really, really regretting her impulsivity by the time the gala rolls around a few days later. In all her excitement about not going alone for once, she’d forgotten that this meant she’d be going with you. With you, all dolled up and mouth-wateringly gorgeous.
You knock at her door earlier than she’d expected from you when a fancy event is involved and has to do her very best not to drop her jaw on the floor. Gorgeous green silk pools around your breasts in a daring cowl neck, the fabric clinging to your curves, draped to exaggerate them. Skims the plush sides of your hips before falling straight to the floor, a daring slit revealing the warm bare skin of your leg ending in those heaven sent Jimmy Choos. Jay stares, knows she stares for a beat too long but there is quite literally no force on earth that could tear her away. You start to squirm under her attention, still standing half in her doorway.
“That bad, is it?” You laugh self consciously, start to cover your cleavage with your hands. “I knew it was too much.”
“No, no it’s just enough,” she rasps, standing back to let you in. You brush past her so close she can smell your perfume, can tell you’d broken out your special occasions scent in the nice glass bottle. “I just need to fix my tie and do my hair and then we can go.”
“Do you need the tie?” You hum, stepping into her space. Grabbing a hold of one of the loose ends, you tug it out from where it’s tucked under her collar and drape it over the couch. Your fingers come to her throat and slowly undo the buttons there until only a single button or two above her waistcoat remains done up. Satisfied with your work, you spread the material flat under your palms, right over the swell of Jay’s breasts. “I think you look really nice just like this,” you confess to her.
Jay can barely breathe as she says “Fuck the tie, never liked ‘em anyway.” Your slow smile is worth it.
“Can I do your hair too?” You ask shyly.
“Don’t see why not, I was just going to do a ponytail,” Jay shrugs. Delighted you push her down onto the couch and start pulling bobby pins out of your purse. “Wait did you plan this?” She asks.
“A girl should always be prepared for the best outcome,” you tell her primly as you stand behind her and finger comb her riotous hair.
Quickly you separate out a deep side part and Jay memorizes the feeling of your hands in her hair. Hands twisting and pinning, you’re done in only a few minutes, handing her the little mirror out of your clutch to admire your work. Softly Jay touches your work, the way you’ve slicked back one side of her hair and made the waving curly mess look artistic and purposeful.
“Thank you,” she says, making eye contact with you in the mirror. She means it, means it for more than just fixing her hair but for everything else you’ve done since stumbling into her bar and her life all those months ago.
“It’s nothing,” you tell her, hands suddenly occupied with the mechanism of your purse. “We should probably get going, right?”
Jay drives the two of you to the venue in a really nice car you’ve never seen before. She waves away your questions with a tight, “My dad won’t even notice it’s missing.” She parks at the end of the red carpet and the doors haven’t even opened yet but you can already see the camera lights flashing. You look at her, suddenly nervous because you’d vastly underestimated how important this event was. She turns to you and smiles, grips your hand over the car console.
“Hey,” she says, all softness. “Just stick with me and you’ll be fine. I’ll head off the vultures, you just hold onto me and enjoy the canapes, okay?”
You nod, and then suddenly she’s opening up your door, hand extended to help you out. The lights are blinding, flashing so fast the afterburn never gets any time to dissipate. Pasting on a smile you cling to Jay’s strong arm, rock solid even under all her suit layers. Paps shout and scream at you to look their way and you can barely hear them over one another.
Eventually the two of you make it through the front doors of the hotel and you gasp like you’ve been drowning. Rubbing your shoulders Jay moves to cover you, cuts off the private moment from prying eyes that seek and skitter.
“Is it always like that?” You gasp. Fighting to regain your balance.
“Unfortunately,” she says with a rueful smile. “But that’s the worst of it over, now we can really enjoy the night.” Gallantly she offers you her arm and you accept it gratefully, her elbow brushing up against the swell of your breast as you walk.
She introduces you to the night’s hosts – her family – with a whispered apology in your ear. Jay is secretly, privately glad that you don’t notice Dick’s eyes lighting up with interest in you as you come in to view. She’s very careful to stamp that light out with a scowl and pantomiming slitting his throat. He’s all charm and smiles when he’s introduced to you though Jay still stomps on his toes for good measure. She doesn’t know what possesses her to, but she wraps a proprietary arm around the small of your back as she steers you around the room. Helps you to crystal flutes of champagne that make your nose twitch at the carbonation and warns you off the most disgusting canapes.
Jay has just chased down the waiter carrying the mushroom and cheese quiche bites you’d fast declared your favourite when the two of you get roped into a very stilted conversation with some of the fat cats the Waynes are currently trying to drain dry, for charitable reasons of course. She’s tuned out the conversation while she piles all the best looking bites onto a plate for you, horrifically uninterested in whatever Mr. Harold J. Carson, esquire had to say about the Texan economy. She cottons on to something being wrong as your hands tense up around her arm and your laugh gets ever more brittle.
“That’s a very kind offer Mr. Carson–”
“Harold, please,” the great mustached walrus harumphs.
“–Mr. Carson,” you bravely soldier on. “But I’m here on a date and I hope you’re not implying that I’m the type of woman to two-time someone.”
He turns an ugly shade of puce and sputters at the implication, society matrons chuckling behind their glasses at his terrible blunder. Sensing an opportunity, Jay grabs you by the arm and starts leading you away.
“I do think our presence is needed by my family elsewhere,” she says, vowels Diamond District clipped. Her grip around your fingers is strong, tighter than it’s ever been as she leads you down a hallway and into an unused meeting room. Her breaths are coming heavy as she drops your arm like she’s been burned, deposits the plate on the empty table. Jay knows if she speaks now, her voice will shake and she will not have that. FUCK. Fuck, she was supposed to have this under control by now. She’s not your keeper, she’s not gonna stand between you and happiness but fuck it hurts to be used like a ticket into someone else’s bed.
“Jay,” you ask cautiously. “Are you okay? I really wasn’t going to take him up on his offer, I’m telling the truth, promise.”
“Why’d you come with me as a friend when you were already invited as someone’s fucking date?” Jay spits out, unable to contain her jealous anger and pacing to try and burn it off.
“But you invited me,” you answer her, voice trailing off in confusion.
“You just told Mr. Texas Oil Man that you’re here on a date,” Jay says, voice tight and frustrated at having to spell this out for you. “And we–” she gestures sharply at the two of you “–are not on a date.”
Your face falls, voice thin and hurt. “We’re not?” you ask softly.
Jay has to stop pacing because wait what.
“You– you thought this was a date,” she says slowly. “You got all dressed up and wore the heels you hate because you wanted to look good. For me.” You hug yourself tightly and nod, gaze fixed on a spot on the floor. “But you don’t even like women?” And it’s less a painful fact she knows now and more of a question.
“We met because my date stood me up!” you exclaim.
“Yeah, Jerry,” Jay says, not sure where this is going. “Fuck that guy.”
“Gerry short for Geraldine!” you practically howl. “I’ve been practically throwing myself at you ever since, I thought you were just being nice and not saying anything to hurt my feelings,” you yell at her. “I thought– I thought you were finally giving me a chance tonight.” You pant, chest heaving as you reveal this more vulnerable truth.
“Oh,” she says stupidly, suddenly forced to re-contextualize her entire life for the past few months. You dash an angry hand at your tear eyes and turn to go.
“It was my mistake,” you tell her voice thick with emotion.
And fuck. Jay’s not about to let the best thing that ever walked into her life just walk right back out. Not without a fight. Eating up the distance with her longer legs, she reaches out and gently clasps your wrist. Turns you around and pins you the door by it, forces you to look up at her with wide teary eyes.
“Oh sweetheart,” she croons and you shudder. “Bet you’ve been feeling like I’ve been treating your real raw lately.” She cups your face in her hand, smoothes her thumb over the high plain of your cheekbone. “Why don’t you tell me what you were hopin’ for with your one big chance, tell me how tonight was supposed to go.” Jay nuzzles the side of your cheek, inhales the sweat and desperation rolling off your skin.
“We were– we were supposed to dance,” you confess, head falling back against the door.
“We can still do that,” she says, curling her fingers into your hair and pulling. She grins at your swift inhale.
“We were gonna dance an’ then, then you were gonna take me home.” You breathe out, pupils blown wide with hunger.
“Was that it baby girl?” She asks. “Playing it a little safe for your one night fantasy, weren’t you?” Jay lets go of your wrist to rest her hand on your shoulder, large hand pressing down on your collarbone.
“Was gonna kiss you goodnight,” you whimper, shivers running across your skin. Slowly, so slowly you can make out the ticking seconds hand of the big clock on the wall, Jay leans in and carefully slots her mouth down over yours. Sucks gently on your bottom lip before releasing it with a sigh.
“Like that?” Jay asks. “You were just hoping for a sweet little kiss on the mouth?” Her own breathing is ragged.
“No–o,” you gasp. “Was hoping– was hoping you’d kiss a little lower too.”
Swiftly Jay drops to her knees, so fast she barely recognizes the pain of it. Hooks your leg over her shoulder and starts rucking up your devastating dress to expose your panties. Moaning you scrabble at the door, her hair, anything to keep you upright and balanced.
“These,” she snarls, then licks a fat stripe across the thin fabric of your black lace panties. “I’ve been dreaming of getting my hands on them since I first saw them.” You shiver, bury your hands into her thick hair for balance.
“They’re my– my lucky date underwear,” you gasp into the air.
“And you were hoping to get lucky tonight, weren’t you baby girl?” She coos up at you.
Biting your lip, you nod. Jay sets about tearing your underwear to pieces with her teeth. Your thighs tremble around her ears and she slams your hips back down against the door. Spreads your lips open with calloused fingers, presses a light kiss to your clit in greeting before she starts making out with your pussy. You howl and sag, trusting her to take the full weight of you as your knees turn to jelly.
Jay eats you out with enthusiasm and she eats you out with experience. Does this thing with the slick thrusting muscle of her tongue that has you gasping and begging for more. Can feel the heel of your shoe digging into her back, urging her own, begging her to fuck you harder. Spells her own name against your clit, brands her claim on you into your flesh as you wobble and whimper. Slick runs down her face as she grinds her nose into you.
Sucks your clit, hard, just a hint of teeth as she spears you open on a thick finger. Twists and curls it against your slick wet walls, lets herself affectionately get acquainted with your cunt. Scissors you open with two fingers just to watch your head bang back against the door, eyes shut and tears streaming down your face. Sets an uneven rhythm with her fingers and tongue that has you moaning and trying to ride her face for more. Finger fucks you with wet, squelching vigour as you quiver and shake, walls tightening up as you careen towards climax. Starts putting pressure on your rim with a third finger just to tip you over the edge of it all, pleasure making you stupid. Jay bites down at the sensitive inner skin of your thigh and suddenly has to drink down the slick of your second orgasm. So her baby girl likes a little pain with her pleasure, she’ll have to remember that for next time.
Gently, she takes your trembling thigh off her shoulder and places it back onto the ground. Pulls your skirt back down to hide the utter wreckage she’s made of your panties. Jay scrubs at her chin with her hand, then licks down all the sweet remaining slick she finds there. Grins felinely as you moan at the sight.
“Hoping for a little something like that, honey?” She teases.
Vigorously you nod, head bouncing back and forth like a bobblehead, words still fucked out of your brain. She holds out a hand to you – not the one that’s just been buried knuckle deep inside you – and clasps your hand in her own.
“C’mon, let’s go home then,” she tells you airily, leading you back through the maze of the building.
“But what about the party?” you ask, mascara still smeared around your eyes.
“I don’t care,” Jay bites out. “I’m taking you home and I’m fucking you until either I pass out or the sun comes up.”
“Okay,” you say, voice just verging on a whine. “That sounds better, actually.”
“Good,” Jay smirks. “Because it wasn’t a question.”

sugar, spice, everything on ice (hockey au mlist) - smut; f!reader; short drabble only!
yea i bet youre all tired of hearing hockey come out of my mouth but thinking about—
hockey player simon receiving a text from you after a game.
Tumblr media
they defeated their opponent in a shutout—price carrying the team on enemy ice, with garrick coming in with solid defences, allowing mactavish and simon to sink a shot after another.
it was an electrifying game; even now as he’s stuffed in his cubicle, simon feels like he’s on top of the world. like the cup is so close to his reach—just a few more rally and he’s bringing it home.
the locker room is buzzed, congratulations getting passed from one to another while their coach awards the disk to price for the shutout. the media is still taping this whole interaction so the team remains conscious, guarded, until, finally, everything is wrapped up.
the others clamber to the showers but simon digs for his phone, desperate to talk to you. to tell you that he’s won—he doesn’t know if you’ve watched the game, not with how packed your schedule’s gotten—so if you haven’t, he wishes to at least be the first to let you know.
he wants you to hear it from him; hear from him how they dominated tonight’s game.
(6-0 for the specgru. in the playoffs.)
but there’s already a message from you, sitting atop the strings of notification filling up his phone screen. he ignores the emails from brands reaching out for brand deals or fans sending in messages to his public socials, and taps on your name.
his eyes grow wide, his breath hitching, because—
> 2 goals tonight, baby. almost a hatty.
> have i told you how your hockey makes me hot? almost makes me want to fly there to give you a reward
the start of a whimper builds in the base of his throat, scratching at his trachea.
jesus.
the last time you’ve rewarded him for his performance—a hatty, one of which was an empty net goal—simon had to grit through the horror of seeing you have a difficulty in sitting down the next few days. until now, he swears that he tried holding back, to take it easy despite his needs, but then you crawled to his lap and sang praises in his ears, and simon was gone.
you were so needy for him. for his skate and his play and his victory. and how could simon control himself then?
so this—your messages that are lidded with a tease—is torture. the flight won’t even be until tomorrow morning so you’ve just left him extremely pent-up, buzzing, with his desires poorly-leashed.
all he could do is send a weak,
when i’m back, can you give it then? <
you’ve only liked his message as a reply and simon knows it for what it is—a deliberate hooking; filling him up with tension. with unbridled energy, all uncontainable, so he can fuck all of that into you.
shit. now he’s all hard underneath his cup.
the quick rub in the shower stalls was not enough so he races to their hotel, locking himself in his room and proceeds to fuck his fist as he swipes at the album he’s locked away in his gallery. it’s the gallery that only you and simon know about.
it’s full of pictures. of videos and audios.
it’s full of you fingering your sensitive pussy, and of simon finally getting his hands on your cunt and dragging you up to his mouth for a taste, and of simon fucking you at every surface—on the island, in the living room, against the window, in front of the mirror.
in some of them, he’s still wearing his jersey. in most of them, you’re the one who has it on.
simon cums once. then rubs another one before the flight because he makes the mistake of rereading your previous message. the release isn’t euphoric; sure, it’s enough to stop the fever, but it was almost too clinical.
you’re still in your gym clothes when simon’s clumsily making his way home. you shriek at the way he just covers you with his bulk, before giggling at the ticklish feeling of his scruff rubbing against your cheek.
“missed you,” he says.
you whine, nodding, before pushing him back just enough that you can finally jump into his arms. simon soaks up the attention, like it’s sticky liquorice, and the nuzzled kisses.
even the words pressed on his lips, he devours but there’s one thing simon needs more, and he’s almost shaking when you finally noticed.
you laugh, poking his cheek, before giving him what he wants.
“your hockey’s so hot, si,” you trill. “fuck me?”
“please,” simon croaks out because that is all he could truly say.
