Sometimes Hotch kind of regrets hiring you (not really, you're a great  addition to the team and everybody loves you), but when he sees you and Spencer together, the thought crosses his mind.

What he really does regret, is putting your desk and Spencer's desk next to each other. Big, big, big mistake.

You and Spencer are hunched over something at your desk, talking very quickly, as you two often do. Hotch finds your conversations, against his better judgement, cute. But not when he's trying to start a meeting and you two can't seem to notice.

He and the team see this on a regular basis, it's nothing new, that you and Spencer talk and talk about something, anything, completely in your own world.

Your conversations are still the same just like the first time, you and Spencer met. Maybe they got even worse. You two can ramble on and on for hours like it's nothing.

And you love it. You love talking to Spencer. The topic of your conversation is never a problem, you can talk about anything and nothing at the same time.

Just the fact, that you can talk to each other without being talked over, interrupted or hushed down is everything to you and to him.

Spencer feels the same. He loves talking to you. Your sweet, sweet voice makes it even better. He loves even just listening to you talk, it's maybe his favourite thing in the world.

Especially, when you two talk about the most silly, random stuff, while lying in the bed late at night. Chuckling and rambling without a care in the world. Maybe he loves it so much, because the team doesn't know about it. It's like something sacred between just you and him.

That's definitely his happy place, just you two having a quiet conversations with sleepy voices.

"Spence, have you read this book before?" you ask, pointing at the book lying on your desk.

Your cheeks go a bit pink at Derek's words, you haven't realised that they were waiting on you and Spencer.

"Relax Derek, we're coming," Spencer says back loudly, " come on sweetheart, let's go there before they get mad at us," Spencer tells you, rolling his eyes over Derek's words.

"We'll talk about the book more later, yeah?" Spencer promises.

"Later?"

"That'd be great, I'd love that," you'd never pass an opportunity to spend time with Spencer and getting to listen to him talk.

how do you navigate your feelings towards ziam and cheryl/bear/kate/maya on top of this immense grief? i don't mean to be insensitive but i haven't found an answer for myself yet, i can't believe we'll never get answers now

(To anyone seeing this, read until the end before saying anything thank you.) Well. I'm gonna ramble a bit but bear with me. Spotify played Let Me and Common on shuffle the other day and I cried a bit. It's unfair. It should've never ended this way. But I had already accepted ages ago that we might never know the truth. I still have my beliefs. That Zayn and Liam were together. Maybe they had broken up who knows but if they did then I still truly believe their bond was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I've gone through so many emotions this past week. But seeing the posts of cheryl etcetc or people mentioning bear (Zayn was the only one who didn't fwiw), it didn't make me feel anything. Maybe bc I had already accepted we couldn't do anything about the stunts, and/or maybe bc it's still difficult for me to accept he's really gone or bc it doesn't matter to me at this moment. Or bc I haven't actually sat down to think about what it means that he's gone. I've just been thinking of the pain all of Liam's loved ones are in right now and will be in for the foreseeable future. And I include Zayn in this. I also don't really want to think about it bc I think I might get angry. We've all seen Liam's video on snapchat from last month, where he said he was stunting and forced to do things he didn't want to do and to send help. I often used to say that I didn't understand why the boys accepted this situation instead of just getting out, consequences be damned. Ofc it's easier said than done. But I thought maybe they thought it was worth it in some way. But then, Louis got out. Zayn got out. (In some way, I mean they have privacy and a real career, like Niall and Harry). I guess I will never understand why Liam was still the only one so stuck in this shitty situation. Why couldn't he live his life in peace like Zayn and only appear when he released music? Why couldn't he find a better team or why did he even accept to go along for so long? Why did people let him? Why?! That's what I want to know. Fucking why. And I want Liam's image/reputation to be redeemed. Anyway I digressed I'm sorry.

I just sincerely hope Zayn will be ok. Jaymi who was in Union J lost his soon-to-be-husband a couple months ago (Olly was buried the day they were supposed to get married last month). They'd been together for 14 years. And Olly died in similar circumstances (a fall from the 3rd floor of a hotel). And as incredibly awful as this is, knowing that other people are going through similar grief helps a bit, and I hope it will help Zayn and Liam's loved ones know they're not alone.

Idek if I've answered your question. I guess basically the stunts don't cross my mind coz it's not important to me. These past few years when Liam was alive it wasn't important (tho I hated it) bc I accepted the boys made their own choices. And now it's not important bc it won't bring Liam back and bc his loved ones matter more to me. Now, if I'm actually wrong about my beliefs then it is what it is and I feel for his exes/gf/child, and if the maya thing is true I still think addiction made him act that way and that if he'd got a chance to really get better this wouldn't have happened again. If I'm not wrong tho, I truly feel for Zayn who doesn't get to grieve the way he deserves to. Tho I'm glad he has loved ones who know the truth and who can support him the right way.

niki - he has a one track mind and i sorta envy him for that . but hes not stupid! its just that he has tunnel vision to the point that hes got his head in the clouds . of course he knows the difference between fake food and real food, hes a chef for christs sake but hes so caught up in "oh fuck yes a little bowl of seeds for me" that it just never even crosses his mind that it might not be edible . its very endearing

Me: Okay so when I first meet someone- I’m very shy but polite. I give compliments if I’m trying to make friends with the person I’m talking to. Normally I like to be approached first

With acquaintances I’m myself but I dial down just a tad bit. My personality also adjust to the people I’m around with acquaintances.

With close friends I can be kinda loud but I’m very friendly.

Across all three scenarios I’m very sarcastic but I remain polite depending on how close we are.

When I’m by myself I enjoy listening to music while scrolling on Pinterest or TikTok. I do have an eye for aesthetics. I occasionally write poetry. I also can daydream when I’m alone. When I’m with others I am very practical and grounded and in the moment. When I’m with myself in in my mind. I am EXTREMELY passionate and it can sometimes come off as rudeness. I am also very sensitive and don’t take well to criticism of any kind Real life scenarios I have been in relating to me being passionate to my values- I value respecting teachers not only because they want the best for the class but because it helps the class flow better and acting out is honestly annoying so when push comes to shove I will say something like “Respectfully, shut the fuck up” but I just want the class to flow slowly

Also I can get to work and be extremely serious when need be but I often procrastinate. I also really like material things. I have a fear of fatal accidents and things like getting kidnapped but I’m not a skeptical person. I also have a very playful personality with my friends. I’m also learning a foreign language and enjoy it. I also get emotional sometimes. I could see a video of a new singer living paycheck to paycheck and their video only has one like and it breaks my heart. NOW onto the deets!! Sooooo okay they can tell that whenever you're around or mentioned Haley is ✨tense✨. I mean they are profilers! It esp goes down when there's a gathering at the bar after a case. You're there, as you often are (even before you started dating Aaron if you're part of the team) and just generally having a great time sitting with him.

And then Haley enters the same bar. She managed to have Jack handed over to her sister, being encouraged to "get back out there". But what Jessica doesn't know is Haley decided to go to the very same bar she was attending with Aaron with the team years ago. She had heard he was seeing someone, but now she knows he is. And boy... she is not happy.

You're younger than her for a start. Pretty. Real pretty. Definitely more filled out than she ever was, however. And Aaron has his arm around your waist, smiling gently and chuckling at whatever the conversation was being had. No, she didn't want to see him so-

So she decides to saunter into the bar, pretending she hasn't seen any of them as she orders herself a drink. As she takes hold of her drink she walks casually near their table, she knows they've spotted her now. And then she feigns surprise as she lets her eyes wander to the group.

"Oh! I didn't expect to cross paths with you all tonight." She says. The group offer polite greetings to her and she smiles and nods, then her eyes land on you. "Ah... and you are?"

You tell her your name. She watches as Aaron's grip on you tightens a little. She hums.

"I see. Well I'm Haley Brooks, Aaron's ex-wife. I'm sure you know my dearest Jack, yes? I'm his mother." She says smugly as she shakes your hand a little too tightly. You look uncomfortable, she enjoys it. Her eyes drift to Aaron, who's watching her with slightly narrowed eyes. "I didn't expect you to move onto someone so... hmm, how should I put it?"

"Haley." Aaron says. His tone is a warning. Haley narrows her eyes a little.

"I was only going to say they're young, Aaron." God, she enjoyed the discomfort from the way she said his name. You're looking at her with a certain look that suggested you knew she was lying about what she was about to say. No doubt you'd heard it before, she thinks. One of the others at the table clears their throat.

"Ah, you here with anyone tonight?" Emilia(Emily?) asks her. Haley shifts her gaze to the woman with dark hair.

"Mhm no. Just haven't had much time for myself recently." She knows her words sting. Good. You clear your throat and offer a polite smile.

"I don't mind looking after Jack sometimes if you and Jessica need a break. He's always a good kid when he's at his dad's." You offer and Haley breathes out through her nose sharply.

"That's funny, when I spotted you all I thought you probably worked as a babysitter. You certainly look like one."

Before anyone else can speak up, Aaron slams his glass down on the table and stands up, firm and tall.

"Alright, that's enough. I think you should go." He says sternly to her. Haley gasps, wide eyed.

"A-Aaron I-"

"Now."

In a spark of anger, Haley downs her drink in one and slams her own glass down on the table.

"Fine. I'll just have to try to find myself a ride home then." She snaps. She turns to leave, and from behind her she hears possibly Derek say,

i'm not sure if you've talked about it anywhere yet, but i'd love to know more about pirate ruggie and emergency food mermaid daisy if you don't mind!

I actually plan on making a post with info about each character that I deem important to this au, mainly the Savanaclaw boys (and girl, including my oc Jeanne) and mayhaps the Scarabia boys (...and girl again, including my oc Damali)! I have not posted more about it ever since the small comics but I definitely plan to!

Basically what you need to know about daiggie in this au is this:

- Ruggie is poor and was a street thieve trying to support him and his grandma (and the kids in his neighborhood) in the same kingdom that Leona's a prince of before Leona ultimately ran away and founded a pirate crew; he got recruited by Leona once he saw his abilities and diligence and was basically the first member of Leona's crew — Ruggie is also his first mate.

- Daisy's story is basically the same as her canon story, her parents dying and her being at the mercy of her stepmom, but obviously this all happens with her and her family being mermaids! Her stepmother always made a point for her to stay underwater (mixing elements of the little mermaid) but she was always fascinated with humans, her parents even telling her stories of having met kind and wonderful sailors, so one day she decided to be caught by a pirate crew in order to try and convince them to let her stay in their crew so she could escape her life in the sea.

- Daisy's real name, as I said before, is Eléa, but in this au instead of her giving herself the name Daisy, Ruggie is the one to give her that name. He tells her she kinda reminds him of a flower he knows and that he consumes quite often, and decides to call her that instead; the name sticks and before you know it she's not Eléa the mermaid anymore she's Daisy the pirate

- Daisy is tasked to be the navigator of the ship (due to her understanding of the sea) and to help Ruggie in his chores in the ship as payment to be a part of the crew

- there's like a running gag I created in my head that Daisy does not comprehend jokes with double meanings bc (and this is my personal headcanon) mermaids don't reproduce the same way humans do, so for example in her first time taking a bath Ruggie is tasked to help her and throughout the entire time he's just "for the love of everything DO NOT GET OUT OF THE TUB" and she. Doesn't understand why😭😭😭😭 it's funny in my head ok🧍🏻‍♀️🧍🏻‍♀️

- also also the crew manage to get their hands on a potion that transforms the body of a mermaid into a human, it's illegal but since they're pirates and because Leona is the one in charge they're able to create a plan to get it; they do it because they need Daisy to move around on the ship and on land when they arrive at some countries for supplies

For now that's all I can think of!! I want to expand more on it tho

Synopsis: Han just went through a breakup and you‘re there to comfort him.

A/n: sorry for not posting for so long my motivation left the chat. (I still have drafts so I’m working on stuff sometimes)

Jisung was walking down the street,headphones in his ears,playing loud music. His head repeated the words his,now ex girlfriend,just said. "you were never enough for me." , "I just waited for enough time to pass so that I could leave you" , "you’re always so clingy,it annoys me so much" and so on. He didn’t notice but just as the sky,his mind and thoughts got darker. The rain started to drop down just as tears started to leave his eyes.

He loved his girlfriend. He wasn’t really happy in the relationship but he was still glad to have it. He was glad that somebody loved him but now that he knew that it wasn’t real,he felt useless.

„HAN HEY SUNGIE“ y/n screamed at him but he couldn’t hear her. Jisung slightly jumped as he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around and looked at her blankly. Y/n‘s eyes widened at the view she had right now. Her best friend had red,puffy eyes and wet clothes. Coming back to reality,y/n slowly removed Jisungs headphones and stuffed them in his pockets. „I searched for you!“ they said worriedly. Han said nothing,it seemed like he was in a void,absent. Y/n didn‘t think much and hugged their best friend. „I was worried sung…“ they said and let go of him again. Y/n took Han‘s arm into their grasp,wanting to drag him with them but the boy didn’t move a centimetre. They turned around and faced him. „What’s wrong? Come with me. You will catch a cold if you don’t“ they said with a whine.

„Who cares“ he said after a while. Y/n rolled her eyes at him. They could barely understand his softly mumbled words through the hard hitting rain wich poured on the two of you. „What the fuck do you mean 'who cares'???? I fucking care“ they said into his face. „Aren’t you gonna say that you never really cared in the end too?“ they huffed at Han‘s words. „Are you serious right now? You‘re thinking that even tho I’m standing in the rain right now?“ Jisung shrugged his shoulders. „Please Jisung just come home with me“ they begged and took his hand in theirs. Y/n softly pressed his hand and then started to walk again,actually not expecting him to move but he did. He did small steps,following his best friend with a warm feeling in his broken heart.

You two arrived at your home being completely wet because of the rain. „Do you wanna take a bath or something?“ you asked him,wanting to take care. He shook his head and took of his wet clothing. „Oh wait I can give you some of the clothing you left here when you slept here.“ you walked upstairs to pick up the freshly washed clothing. Jisung on the other side stood there and waited for you. He might not be in the best mood and didn’t care about anything but he didn’t want to make you’re whole house wet.

„There you go“ you said and handed him the clothes. Jisung went to the bathroom and changed his clothes and fixed his hair. You did the same thing in your bedroom and then went to the kitchen to prepare some tea. When Han came back,you already sat on the couch in the living room,waiting for him. He walked towards you and plopped himself down next to you. „Tea?“ you asked and he nodded. „Be careful it’s still a little hot“ Jisung nodded and carefully took a sip. You smiled at him and started his favourite show on the TV. Even tho Han didn’t show his hurt side often,you still knew exactly what he needed.

While you were watching tv,Han only looked at you. He never felt that comforted before and your presence really made him forget about everything that happened this day. His heart felt warm,healed even tho he knew it was only for the moment. „Can I stay here tonight?“ Han asked you out of nowhere. You turned your head to him and smiled „of course you can.“

You just crossed the middle of the TV show as you saw how Jisung fought to keep his eyes open. You softly smiled and turned out the TV. „Let’s sleep“ you said. You knew that Han would lie if you‘d ask if he wants to sleep so you just decided it for him. Jisung nodded at your words and got comfortable on the couch. You looked at him confused. „What are you doing? Go upstairs and sleep“ the boy shook his head and looked at you. „I wanna sleep where you‘re sleeping“ you smiled a little and stood up,offering him your hand. He gladly took it and stood up. The two of you went upstairs,getting comfortable in your bed.

Jisung‘s Head laid down on Y/n‘s Shoulder as their head laid on his head. They were both asleep,both smiling. Han’s lips formed a smile even in his sleep because of the gentle head pats y/n gave him a few minutes ago. Y/n was smiling because they knew they gave Han some sort of comfort and safety for the day.

Jisung felt unloved,like he‘s not needed,like nobody cares about him and like nobody really wants his company but he felt different with y/n. They were the only one that never made him feel at the wrong place.

I think what makes Jin interesting as a character is the fact that he possesses attributes that make him a good enough definition of an anti-hero, rather than just a tragic hero. His struggles throughout the story and his downfalls that display the darkness inside him, opposing to the good he carries inside as the protagonist (from T3 onwards minus T6 & T7) is adding up to that nicely. That's just my own impression of him though. A realistically flawed protagonist is still much better than a perfect protagonist with little to no flaws.

I think it would depend on people's definition of "antihero". Which, by the actual true definition, Jin is definitely an antihero. As antihero simply refers to any hero that lacks the conventional hero traits, which hhhuhhhhh... practically just translates to any hero that isn't perfect LMAO. If you peek at Wikipedia's "antihero" list - they literally lump Oscar the Grouch with Walter White. So yeah.

I never usually call Jin an "antihero" just because when I hear the word, my mind goes straight to characters like Venom, Magneto, or Harley Quinn... which I don't see Jin fitting the bill of those characters lol. Just how Kazuya is considered the antihero in the first Tekken - but for totally different reasons than you may see Jin as. Kazuya wanted to get rid of an evil (Heihachi) - buuuuut he wanted to do it for selfish reasons (out of his own trauma and own desire for power). Which, Jin did wanted to do similar for selfish reasons, as what kickstarted him wanting to kill Heihachi and Kazuya was betrayal and trauma as well. BUT, Jin also primarily had the world in mind, and people's well being - as he wanted to save the world from Heihachi and the devil gene.

Jin's biggest flaws (aside from being possessed by a devil - but we're talking about Jin's flaws on his own) was his antisocialness, his fury, suicidal tendencies, and his homicidal tendencies towards those who have wronged people and himself. Which, the latter is a question of morality that's been debated for ages. But if we look at many fictional heroes, usually killing, even for the greater good, is a no - no. Jin still, however, had a heart of gold. Despite being antisocial, Jin was still very supportive of other people; Jin may have been antisocial, but he wasn't cynical at all. Which is why I liked Jin's story a lot. Because he is a good man, and damn he tries to be a good man. But... he struggles with making the right choices. And I think a lot of us can relate with that. Because we're all not gonna be Superman in situations, we're often gonna struggle with making the right call because real life isn't so black and white when it comes to more complex situations. And like Jin, we're also gonna have flaws we have to work on, maybe like him - we lose our temper easily. Whatever. Jin's struggles and character was relatable (even tho some fail to see because he's not Overly Expressive) and it's why he doesn't work in T6. Because Jin crosses the line of being that Unconventional Hero, his actions became too antagonistic. And well... as I've explained many times before, just doesn't feel like Jin anymore in character.

So, yeah! I do agree even though I don't use the term often with Jin just because of the most popular examples associated with the term. But Jin is technically, indeed, an "antihero." It's why I loved Jin so much; his flaws were what made him interesting. He was a good man who may have been prone to mistakes compared to other Good People, and he doesn't always know what's the right thing to do. And plus as I call him many times on this blog, often a failboss! So, Jin always felt very realistic to me and I wish more people would see that, as well!

omg thank you!!! I was so nervous about it because one, I'd never written femslash, and then two adding the butch/femme dynamic to the mix felt like a vulnerable thing? It really turned into a piece about self esteem and identity but I think the smut melted that aspect out of everyone's minds, so maybe it didn't resonate like I'd hoped lmao

But YAY I'm glad it was still them even with that major aspect of who they are changed. That was the biggest challenge, I think, keeping them who they are while adding these new internal conflicts.

And yeah absolutely Armand would want to know all about these feminine hygiene products lmao That felt like a Copley moment, 'I didn't know what you wanted so I got you one of everything', except this time instead of michelin star food it's menstrual products and pharmacy candy lmao Even when Daniel wins he/she loses because now every single item is gonna have to be consumed and explored so Armand can get a secondhand experience.

It's based on those early 90s weird christian games

It's all within a church and any area surrounding it

Pomni is not a real angel, she is a tree decoration angel so she looks kinda tacky, the halo around her head is tied with wire which became crooked as she fell into the church, she tends to put it back straight but it will always go crooked again seconds later.

Caine is obssessed with her to an unhealthy degree (she's kinda into it tbh) he just constantly wants her around and to be able to touch 'his angel'

He was at one point sane and a normal priest but after a spefic incedent he started losing it.

Able is Caine's brother who 'died' he did not really die, he has an apple for a head and caine has teeth, you can do the math here.

Able was a sheperd that was favoured by the other NPCS (Jax espically) Caine grew jealous of this and removed him.

Able isn't dead and just kinda stays out of the way now, the others and Caine thinks he is dead so Caine's sanity started to slip when he would 'see' Able.

Jax is a sheep/lamb and was close to Able, were they lovers? besties? idk but I thought about them to hard once so u can make the connection.

Ragatha is the new shepherd, having entered just a little after Able's 'death'

Jax does not get on with her and in fact does a lot to put himself into danger (thus a sacrfical lamb) just because he finds it funny how much she panics.

Zooble is basically a demon to Caine, the idea was based on one claymation I watched a longggg time ago of something where the satan character kept changing shapes and such.

Caine prolly takes a lot out on Zooble so they tend to just keep to themselves in there room.

Bubble is to be a snake that is often around Caine's neck, I think there colourings would shimmer and change like water in oil (or like a bubble)

Kinger and Queenie are adam and eve. Queenie abstracted shortly after some kind of event that got the both of them in trouble, Caine calls the abstraction her punishment.

Kinger used to be of sane mind and would prolly cause some mischief with queenie, often breaking the games 'rules' I think in the real world the two them were prolly similar to activists for w/e orgnization, rule breakers, this line of work somehow got them in the game.

After Queenie abstracted tho kinger's mind snapped, he often forgets days, months or even where he is. He keeps a notebook on hand with Queenie's notes but if you asked him who wrote them he couldn't give you an answer.

Gangle was orignally going to be the satan type character but I think I'd like to do something with her that gives her more of a prophet type status. She's overly cautious and is quick to point out dangers of shit happening and caine like "nah it's fine" and then shit happens so Caine now straight up just thinks the word of God is being spoken to her.

I think she'd be hyper aware of when someone is about to abstract, she can tell the changes and Caine is seeking her advice to know often, she's scared of what he'll do if she dosn't tell him.

Abstractions are demons basically, when Caine is informed that someone is going to abstract he acutally then proceeds to pin them to a cross. He does this because he truly believes doing so will help them, he thinks the lord will have mercy on them as they did Jesus and will return them to there prior state, this has yet to work and in fact seems to make the abstraction happen faster.

Once abstracted Caine just claims they didn't repent enough and were made into a demon.

Well, at one point someone was going to ask, this is really about the blog and myself rather than any ghostflower stuff related, so feel free to scroll down if you are here only for that content.

Short answer is: Author is a bit of a dumbass, and Dyslexic.

Long answer after the cut.

You see, when I decided to make this sideblog (After deciding it was probably better to spare my few followers on main because I knew I was going to become insufferable with this movie,) I wasn't entirely show what it would be about, or how to name it.

I mostly do fanfics in my spare time, headcanons posts from time to time in my main, analysis in a few occasions (nothing close to my frame analysis tho, this is really new development.) I was thinking of going back to drawing, but it wasn't sure.

Because I already knew I wanted to do frame analysis, I wasn't sure how to name the sideblog, this type of post is not something you see that often in tumblr, or at least not in the fandoms I had been. The fact that I wasn't even sure the entire lists of things I wanted to do with the blog didn't help.

I also didn't want something too generic, mostly in case the name could sound similar to another tumblr blog out there that could exist.

So looking around for possible words, I came across this one

This seemed like a good approach; it was definitely not a word you would usually use for a sideblog, and a mixture of things certainly seemed like the right description for this.

Now, here is an interesting fact about me: I am actually Dyslexic.

I try to not talk too much about me in this sideblog, but the rest of this story doesn't make sense without that context in mind.

Now, while juggling for different ideas for a name in another page, for whatever reason, the site I used register hodgepodge as a real word, I probably typed it wrong without realizing, however rather than correcting to hodgepodge, it corrected to hotchpotch.

Since I wasn't familiar with that word, I looked it up in the dictionary.

Now I thought this was funny.

Hodgepodge was technically the appropriate word to use for this blog, but I thought using food would be funnier. Is technically related because is still a mix of things in one pot, but using food make the blog seem less serious and more silly, which I thought would be better.

Now, remember how I am mention that I am a bit of a dumbass, and also dyslexic?

Well, rather than just copying and pasting the word right there, I saw that the synonyms word was HotchPot, and decided to use that one because it seemed simpler.

And what does my dyslexic brain end up retaining and typing down?

Hot Potch, because somehow that made sense for me.

At this point I had debated over the name so long and seeing so similarly worded words, that my brain didn't register any issues, and when the grammar on my website told me the word was wrong, I just didn't think much of it because I thought perhaps it was just unfamiliar with that word in particular (that has happened to me before really.)

By the time I realized of the mistake, a lot of people had reblogged and liked the blog, and I know if I change the name not only all the people who reblogged previously will have the post with the grammar mistake on it, but also will probably break the links since if you change your url things fall apart.

And ultimately, I decided to leave the mistake and admit on it on the account on one thing: This feels on brand with me.

Overthink stuff, looking for things over and over again, and still make a careless mistake because my brain has multiple crossed wires in multiple levels. I decided to leave the mistake because the title basically reflects what you are about to see.

Ghostflower stuff, a mixture of many things, the author of the blog making mixing shit up in ways you kind of wonder how they did it.

I thought leaving the grammar mistake made this blog title a bit more unique too, seriously how many people would had end up with this name? It went to so many twists and turns I can't believe this could happen to someone else.

And I think leaving that mistakes also reinforces another thing: Don't take me too seriously.

Like everybody, I had my own biases, I miss stuff, and ultimately this blogs relies heavily in my opinion and way to see the world. I encourage everyone to not just see the frames I put, but feel free to look up those scenes and draw their own conclusions.

Sorry for the long response, but I think I needed to show a bit of the journey as to how I ended up having this name.

Let's talk about writing for a minute

I've been babbling my friend's ears off too much lately, so I'm bringing my writing thoughts to the blog instead lol. So sorry 🙏

So, quick confession. Before I got into K-pop last November, I'd never written a character based on an irl person. It just never crossed my mind to do so?

I mean, obviously I'd take inspiration from people ik irl for characters. If I was writing a best friend character, I'd look to my own best friend, for instance. I often look at my current partner when I'm writing romantic characters. That sort of thing.

But I've never done a fan work for a full, irl, person before. It's a lot harder than I thought it'd be?

I really thought I could just boil them down to some characteristics and character-ify them and call it a day. Basically have a Felix-inspired character instead of writing Felix, yknow?

That's still what I have, but it's a lot more difficult to do that I was expecting. I kind of feel like I'm just writing in my own voice and borrowing SKZ's faces lol.

Like, obviously I know they are real and complete human beings, right? I know that and I knew that and I'm still stunned by the knowledge that they're real, whatever. But I don't think I was more intimately aware that they are real and complete human beings than when I was trying to nail down their voices.

Still haven't nailed that down but whatever.

Like, for a regular character, even if I'm borrowing from someone else's work to make fanfic and the like, you can pretty easily nail down things like how they walk, how they talk, their thoughts, opinions, and feelings. It's easy to give a fictional character a voice when you have a story to tell. There's a certain headspace you get into.

It's so much harder to do that for characters based on irl people.

Because the fact of the matter is that you can watch and read and get the gist of their innermost thoughts, especially book characters. They have a factual answer for what their opinions and thoughts are.

irl-based characters don't.

I mean, sure, you can decide those things. They're ultimately the version of that irl person that exists for your story. It's not ACTUALLY that person, you can do whatever with the character. But when trying to be faithful when making a fan work, it really throws me off my game.

I kind of HAVE to be wildly inaccurate with their characterization, because I DONT know how they'd actually act.

We spend so much time watching these idols, following their stories and careers and eating up every morsel of content they throw our way but still, ultimately, we don't know them.

We don't see their quiet moments, when the cameras are off and nobody's watching that show their truest selves. We can't see their innermost thoughts or witness the world the way they see it. That makes writing them very hard lol

It's an interesting challenge though. For my Fake Text Fic in particular I looked at their bubbles to see if I could spot any texting habits. There were some, like Felix and Seungmin's sticker habit, that I couldn't do because of limitations of the apps I'm using, but otherwise there just. Wasn't enough data for me?

I've had Felix and Bangchan's bubbles for, like, almost half a year? Everyone else I've had just a little over a month. Chan's is probably closest to how he actually texts friends, imo, but everyone else is very. Affectionate? Fan service-y? Awkward? Idk.

Obviously Chan does the fan service too, he's the poster child of Bubble fan service. His little rp scenarios are not lost on me. But he's very teasing and light hearted with it. Felix tends to get very sentimental and while he does tease as well, it's a very different sort, yknow? Very idol-to-fan. The whole of bubble is that way. They are idols, after all, they can't just send whatever. Bangchan is just a weirdo (affectionate)

Anyways, point is, while there are some little things I can recreate in their texting styles, I don't quite have the imagination to apply those things to friend interactions or things like that. So I'm kind of just winging it, and everyone sounds like me lol.

It's fun though. I'm having a grand ol time. Hopefully by the time I start my next SMAU I'll have nailed down their characteristics a little better. Incremental improvement is the name of art tbh.

But yeah, Tl;Dr: Writing about real people is so much harder than writing compeltely fictional characters due to fundamental differences in my ability to understand them.

oof! yeahhhh while, even w it just being a political match, having her husband be in love w her bff would deffff suck but honestly!!!! i think leaving astaira would be the much ~bigger hurdle for eabha bc she's sworn to look after her ppl and that's what she's doing w this marriage! and she can def put up w personal pain to do that, but she can't surrender her ppl!! i do think if smth were worked out where, like, eabha could rest assured knowing her ppl would be taken care of if she left astaira, tho, she'd do it even if it meant never going home again (bc astaira will always be her home!) bc she is ultimately duty oriented and will do what it takes to see her duty done and she's ultimately a willing sacrifice for her ppl if that's what she has to be, so yeah there are circumstances where she'd be willing to leave but yeah those specific parameters would have to be met ~by the marriage itself (if, say, alaric set up a trusted stewart for northern calleary and ciara had hanthom or smth like that yknow? as part of the conditions of the marriage or whatever) but, yeah, short of that!!! she's not leaving!!! ksdjafkjsdf

I'm not sure how obvious Eabha is that she's interested in Alaric, but honestly this just might be something he'd consider tbh??

I do think that Alaric feels like he needs to take a wife and I think w/ all of the complicated feelings he has towards Astaira, that maybe taking an Astairan wife would be good to help promote good Varmont/Astaira relationships/??

While he enjoys flirting w/ Sonya, I feel like he honestly doesn't think having to deal w/ her mom is worth it plus, idk if Roderick really is interested in her or not?? But if he was, Alaric would also back off (he doesn't need to be into 2 girls that Roderick is trying to marry!!!)

I also think he believes that Eabha would be a good fit because she grew up expecting to run her own estate and he is looking for a woman who could effectively be his steward, since he knows that he likely will nEVER be settled and always pulled away on the next conquest his brother decides they shall go on and he wants to know that his home/children/etc are in good hands!

I do think that the only hitch in this plan, is whether or not Farrington is here in Astaira or in the og empire, because I feel like Eabha wouldn't want to leave??? Honestly, all of her siblings would be welcome to live w/ her, if they wanted, but yeah I'm sure that complicates things!! (not to mention that Alaric is carrying a silent torch for one of Eabha's best friends #notawkward)
