“our muses decorating the christmas tree”

 It was a very cold day, the snow falling beautifully outside, and the smell of hot chocolate lingered all over Jongin's warm apartment. He had invited Yoohyeon to his place to hang out in the afternoon, and they decided to make the day more Christmas themed. And since there was no holiday decorations yet, this was an opportunity to get it done before the actual Christmas eve. At the end of their hard work already, decoration pieces had almost fallen in both of their mugs many times. With this in mind he was quite relieved they didn't have to go out to buy those together, imagining what a mess it'd be. They were finally at the Christmas tree stage, the element that was most important to him, even though the whole living room already felt like Christmas without it. Jongin took a brief look at Yoohyeon's side of the tree, smirking as he got back to his own. "You realise it's a big honour to contribute to my Christmas decorations, right?" Still smiling, his joke was obvious while he looked for an ornament in specific inside the box between them, to soon add it to a branch. "Red next to red isn't too aesthetically pleasing." With a little smile, he had a soft voice scolding her, anticipating a bit how the girl's reaction would be.

 June 16th, the day before the carwash fundraising event. There was still so much that needed to be prepared but Jinki’s head was preoccupied with other stuff. His fingers reached for is lips. They still tingled. He could still feel the other’s plump ones on his. Soft and tender, yet so strong and powerful. Intense and at the same time so caring. The mixed signals were extremely confusing. Days after the event he still did not know how to interpret it all. Trying to make sense of this conflict in his head was one of the hardest things he had gone through in his life.

I’m sorry.

The words on the mobile phone reflected in his dark, teary eyes. He didn’t want to, but the urge was stronger than himself. Without consulting his brain, his fingers kept unlocking the phone every five seconds so the conversation would pop over and over again. If you could call it a conversation at all. It was more like a list of texts from one person without response from the other party.

I read that wrong, completely. That was my fault for not managing my feelings properly.

He sounded so composed. How could he have it all figured out while Jinki was here lying on his bed, kicking his feet in the air and pulling his hair in frustration. He was going to be bald by the end of the week if he kept pulling on his bangs like that.

If you're willing to forgive me, I'd like to still be friends. If you aren't, I understand.

The words were written down with seemingly no effort, as if it was normal to suggest such a thing after what had happened two days ago. As if he could pretend nothing had happened. As if their friendship could remain the same after this event.

His head was such a mess. He needed a talk, but who could help him figure out this battle between emotions and intellect when he himself couldn’t win the fight? He exited the conversation screen and searched for one of the only persons whom he believed could help him ease these conflicted feelings in his heart.

| On The Job |

House parties were one of the things that Jaebum hated most, while living in his parents’ home. They were a regular event, and many people attended. Many important people, who were all entitled assholes who thought themselves superior to others just because they had money.

When Yoohyeon had asked him to come to this one, he wanted to brush it off and say that he was need for a last minute recording session at the studio. And he was about to text her that when he got a list of the attendees. One who he had been meaning to have a talk with. He had been told to obtain information about the man’s assistant for a little while, but this Ms. Song was fairly high up in terms of status. Her schedule had been full for weeks and would be full for weeks to come.

He definitely did not want to be there, but it wasn’t as though he had any other choice. It was, unfortunately, his job. Just this once. So Jaebum readjusted the tie on his suit, and exhaled heavily before plastering a smile as fake as the ones he would be receiving, and walked out of his old room. Into war we go.

He found her easily enough, surrounded by a small crowd of people. That wasn’t uncommon. At these house parties, everyone split up into smaller little groups to converse. It only took a little convincing and a little charm to her away from the crowd, following him up into one of the second floor rooms, where it would be easier to have a private conversation.

Yoohyeon made a dash for the supermarket, eyes welling up with tears. Did she really upset her unnie that much? What if she was in danger? She quickly bought the candy she forgot to share, sniffling at the counter and the dashed back out.

There’s a sigh that leaves Seulgi’s lips and she has to fight the urge to put her face in her hands, opting for a quiet shake of her head instead. So much for throwing around some humor—she forgot how excitable the girl was. And she was not...aware of how many emoticons one could use in a few messages. Or that things could escalate so quickly. But then again, this girl had brought quite a lot of new things into her perspective. At least she was cute, and young, that kind of excused it (and helped Seulgi keep her sanity). [ ✉ Cute little Supergirl ] Only a little bit?The last text left Seulgi tapping her fingers against her leg where her free hand rested for the time being. In all honesty, she worried for the girl at times—but it wasn’t as if she knew what kind of ‘baddies’ Seulgi was into dealing with. (And if anything, Seulgi would probably kill fight someone over this little hero before sending her off into a battle). 

But she felt it unnecessarily cruel to hold her back, or to talk down to her. If she wanted to help so badly, it shouldn’t be so awful to let her do a little something.
