zakhar is extremely self-conscious about his ability to take care of anything considering his clear inability to do so with himself and always turns down angel's suggestions to get a pet, pretending he doesn't like them very much. whenever they visit the farm though he spends most of his time there outside playing w/ the baby goats and has convinced their father to teach him how to milk a cow lmao their visits to chestnut ridge are also the only reason why he doesn't look paler than a ghost anymore. he used to avoid going out so much he straight up looked Dead

he can sleep anywhere. most often he sleeps curled up on the bean bag in their living room. he always acts like it's completely fine. his aching back tells a different story

he's a born mathematician. when he's not out partying or rotting in his bed for days, he likes to listen to public lectures on youtube from various mathematicians & physicists - and when he's feeling really bored, he just pirates math textbooks to solve them for fun. he's kind of insane ngl. IMAGINE DOING MATH FOR FUN?? <- (guy who would absolutely do math for fun)

speaking of academia, zakhar absolutely refuses to even try going to uni to actually do something with his life because of his history of almost getting kicked out of school every year. it was always due to absences. he's the kind of person that can glance over the material a couple times and still pass an exam, so he never actually failed anything. the fear of failure remains deeply rooted in him regardless.

he's a massive introvert that doesn't like being around people, but nonetheless has a great love for humanity as a whole, especially children. and children love him. even though he has a resting bitch face and, according to a lot of people, a "vaguely malicious aura".

im thinking like.....medieval au where anakin is a young king and obi-wan is someone in his court he's had an affair with for a few years - maybe he was tasked with teaching him basic defense as a knight or with teaching him horseback riding or with making his weapons as a blacksmith

but then anakin declares his intent to marry and obi-wan was always expecting this. like he knew this would happen. it still stings, stupidly enough. and it stings so much that he decides he can't actually be there for the wedding of his king to someone else, so he packs up and heads off to another kingdom.

only for anakin to visit that kingdom within the year, all puffy and sullen that he must track obi-wan down and bring him back. like where has obi-wan been?? his king has been in need of him???

obi-wan is too weak to deny him an audience, especially because it's hardly an audience at all. his king comes bursting through the doors of his humble studios and demands to know if he somehow does not understand the regard that he holds for him??

anakin basically drags obi-wan back to his kingdom by his ear and obi-wan is sad and dutiful about it until he learns that anakin and his queen have a friendly relationship at best and will pursue an heir and then breaking off all sexual/marital engagements.

anakin is like of course that's the deal like i would ever cheat on you??? and obi-wan is flabbergasted and quite touched, honestly.

and anakin is like i'll show YOU touched etc etc

So... I don't really "do research" on stuff... at least, not in the traditional sense. Most of the random stuff I know is learned in random ways. And all of it is useless in the real world. But, I'll answer to the best of my ability!!

Well... I learned that the Ritz Cracker Barbie isn't real. It's just an edited picture of the white Oreo Barbie that someone made to counter the black Oreo Barbie... because someone at Mattel didn't realize that was a bad idea until she was already on the store shelves.

A new genre or style you tried

2nd person. I did two short fics that were both "x reader" and I'd never done that before. I probably won't do that very often, but I am proud of both attempts because they're not awful despite being my first.

🎭 MASKS - do they act differently around certain people? what's different between the way they act around friends, family, strangers, etc.?

The short answer is -- he definitely acts different around certain people.

Going back to Mahad, there were very few people he could actually be himself, unfiltered, around. For a short period during his childhood, those people were Atem and Mana; and even then, he couldn't afford to fully be a 'child'. As a student of black arts and magecraft, much of Mahad's innocence was robbed of him at an early stage in life, and his authentic self has become masked behind the diligence of a masterful student. All this led to the eventual death of his father, which forever sealed Mahad's childish self away.

Despite being a Priest and playing the part greatly, as Priest Mahad, there was one person who always managed to get unique reactions out of him. Though he may have appeared stoic and unbothered around most, at most times a good way into their magic lessons, Mana in particular managed to get Mahad to be a lot more expressive. Whether in frustration, joy, pride, surprise -- she more often than not got the best of him. Probably because he was used to her, the most. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for Pharaoh Atem; as once he was crowned, Mahad had to relegate himself to a servant, a Priest - and not anything more.

As the Black Magician, he retains the same mannerisms as his stoic self. Seemingly unwavering, focused and serious, his usual demeanor is that of a picture-perfect sage. However, around the Black Magician Girl, he can exhibit the same varied expressions he's showcased in life; and, interestingly, he seems significantly more playful and in his own way, joyous, around Pharaoh Atem. Unaware as the Pharaoh might be.

The character of the Black Magician, throughout his life as it's come to be shaped, is one hinging on self-restraint. Much of his life, he had a role to fulfill, and even death he sealed himself to a role; preventing him from being utterly and completely transparent with his desires, most of the time - leading to the moment of his death. For this reason, even the Toon Black Magician is comically stoic and to-the-point; unlike other Toons. However, enough closeness and prying, can get the more human, 'normal' side of him to come out.

✧ IT WAS CLARA who snuck up on him first at Christmas. Of course, she kept score.

After falling through layer after layer of nightmares, she was overcome with joy. At every turn, the Doctor was always there with her. Through the figment of Danny and Santa alike, he subjected himself to the dream crabs for her.

It was typical for them to share hugs or a rare dance after some life-or-death adventure. (That was her well-planned excuse) But this? Clara would be more worried if she wasn't already giddy from whatever alien champagne she downed.

She smiled at him as if he raised the morning sun himself. "You copycat," she chided to poke fun at him. "Not an original though under all that grey. What's gotten into you?"

He has just sent a message when a text from Lando comes through. He opens their chat. It’s the same video from the same account both George and Pierre sent. He narrows his eyes at his phone. Were the three in this together? He taps the voice message.

“Mate, you-you look amazing. You look amazing. Oh, Albono, I love you. Oh, Albono, marry me.” Lando’s squeaky voice blasts through his speakers.

He replies with a lot of middle finger emojis.

The three of them have to be in on this together. Charles grumbles. So what if he stuttered through his words to check for Alex if he was streaming or told Alex he looks amazing. There is nothing wrong with that. They are friends. Just because he has been in love with Alex for years does not mean they cannot be friends. It is not that bad! It’s not. He goes back to his workout, only to get interrupted five minutes later.

The french swear words on the tip of his tongue are as familiar as they can be.
