Luring
Pairing: Yoo Kihyun x Reader Siren AU Genre: Fluff; Horror (if you squint) Words: 1206 Warnings: implied murder
Masterlist | Fictober Masterpost
Taglist:  @soobin-chois
Tumblr media
Captivating. Enchanting. How does one describe a voice so beautiful? A voice so mesmerizing that you could tune out anything and everything else. A voice so hypnotizing that you wanted to forget everything else.
🎃
You hadn’t meant to find Kihyun. Although, you weren’t so sure if you found Kihyun or if he had lured you to him. Walking along the beach, you felt compelled to explore the rocky coves nearby, and the closer you’d gotten, the louder the singing was.
You knew what a siren was and how dangerous they supposedly were; but, when he had you in his sight, he smiled and the sun seemed to shine a little brighter.
🎃
You’d been visiting Kihyun for a couple weeks. He was a bit shy at first and would only sing to lure you to him, but as time had passed, he opened up. He was sweet, a great listener, and decent at giving advice. You also learned that he was quite the smooth talker when he wanted to be.
He told you stories of sea creatures and sailors. He told you stories of the love he watched his friends experience and how he longed to experience it himself someday. Your heart fluttered when he eyed you a little longer after saying it, but no one else needed to know that.
The next time you returned to visit, he had set up a picnic of sorts. You weren’t sure how he got all the items, since he was a sea-locked being, but maybe he had a secret friend or something to help him.
It was a lovely lunch and a bit romantic, but you quickly realized that was on purpose. He was trying to woo you, and it was working. He had wine and dined you; his eyes never strayed too far from your own, and then he serenaded you again with a more sensual version of the song he so often entranced you with. As the evening unfolded, the atmosphere became charged with an unspoken tension. The sea breeze played with your hair, and Kihyun’s words lingered in the air like a promise.
🎃
You visited Kihyun more often after that.
And when you did, you both sat a little closer; your hands lingered longer, and lips pressed places they probably shouldn’t have. You told him stories of traveling and of city life. You opened up about your family, and he cried with you when you told him about some of the sadder moments of your life.
It only took another week before you both uttered words that should’ve been forbidden to creatures from different worlds. You said it first, but he didn’t hesitate to follow; and you shared the night together—acting as though your first might be your last together.
🎃
When you woke, you were wrapped in a soft fabric and surrounded by the smell of seaweed and salt. You opened your eyes to a dark, but beautiful, cave—the only light came from the reflections of water against the walls. Your clothes were back on, though they sat a bit weirdly on your body. Kihyun had likely tried his best to dress you after you fell asleep last night, but he wasn’t able to get you dressed quite properly. As you remembered your sea-bound lover, you wondered where he might be. He must’ve been the reason for your being in the cave.
You looked around at your surroundings. The fabric around your bodies was the picnic blanket from a few weeks ago. The cave looked rather empty, but a few things were neatly piled around in a far corner.
You carefully made your way over to the glittering objects. Jewelry, coins, utensils, even shiny junk, layed in a carefully curated heap. It occurred to you that it likely belonged to Kihyun, so you were careful not to disturb it too much, but rifled through it with curiosity.
Maybe what those people say about curiosity is right because as you came across a particular ring, you felt your blood run cold as though you died on the spot. You pulled the object closer, inspecting it in the darkness of the cave, praying you were wrong about what you had just discovered.
The ring was one you were all too familiar with. Your family’s crest engraved into the top and on either side were the birthstones of your parents. You had admired the ring many times growing up, twisting it around your father’s finger in fascination time and time again. But the ring had disappeared along with your father about four years ago. Neither were ever seen again.
One morning he went out for an early beach jog, and the next morning the police were telling you they would do their best to look for him.
Your heart pounded in your chest and ears; your stomach felt like it took up residency in your throat. Your eyes darted around the cove—you weren’t sure what you were looking for exactly, but you knew whatever it was didn’t bode well for your anxiety.
When no immediate danger made itself known, you allowed yourself a shaky breath. No skeletons littered the walls either, which was also a good sign considering the path your mind hand wandered down. Perhaps it was as simple as Kihyun finding it lost in the ocean post your father’s disappearance rather than taking it from his corpse.
All you could do was wait for the merman to return. Your fingers fidgeted with the ring in your hand, toying with putting it on and taking it off. Eventually you fell asleep.
🎃
You awoke several hours later to a gentle humming and a hand caressing down your hair. You blinked up at him, unsure how to react to his presence as your nerves returned tenfold.
Wordlessly, you held up the ring to be eye-level with him. He eyed the shiny treasure with recognition; his eyes briefly strayed to glance at his small horde of other shinies. You asked him how he got the ring and when his head tilted slightly in contemplation, you felt your stomach lurch again.
Your jaw clenched in anticipation, awaiting his explanation. When his eyes finally brightened with recognition, his face slowly morphed to a rather unnerving smirk. He told you the story with pride.
An early morning, usually undisturbed, a man had wandered upon his territory. Kihyun had not lured him, rather he happened upon him. They had talked for awhile, but Kihyun could easily tell that the man was planning on telling authorities and news outlets about him and his rocky cove.
According to Kihyun, his eyes shone with greed, and his questions were lined with ulterior motives. Kihyun had done what was necessary to protect himself and his kind. He spared you the gory details, but that didn’t stop you from expelling the minimal contents of your stomach.
The siren rubbed careful circles to your back, but the touch made you want to shrivel up inside. Despite his confusion at your reaction, he did his best to try soothing you; he even began humming the tune you’d grown to love so much.
But rather than comfort you, the sound echoed in your head like dissonant warning bells.

Greatest Gift
Summary: This Christmas might just change everything, but in the best way possible.
Oneshot
Fluff, Established Relationship au
Word Count: 2,328
Kihyun x Reader
Prompt: 12. Make your own prompt. - "You're the most beautiful gift I could have ever hoped for. A gift I want to keep forever. Will you allow me?" ------ I was thinking Christmas proposal/ engagement 🤭 ------ Gender neutral ------ With the one and only Yoo Kihyun 🤩 ------ Thank you and happy holidays!
[A/n: I think I physically ascended when I first read this and pictured him saying it. And to whoever sent this ask, just know I love you and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. This was absolutely self-indulgent for me. I hope it’s very indulgent for you too.]
------
It was finally Christmas morning, and you couldn't be more excited as you opened your eyes. When you were a kid, you’d wake up at six am sharp, rushing over to the Christmas tree, hurrying your parents down the stairs to open presents. While the excitement faded a bit over the years, you still were excited to spend the whole day with Kihyun. Who, for the past seven Christmases, made you feel the joy of the holiday again.
You throw the blanket down, ready to run down, until you notice Kihyun isn't beside you, ready to push you out of the way as he runs to the tree, too. Your heart sinks, worrying that he left without you, before the door opens, and in pops Kihyun.
You sigh, full of relief, as he enters, “Don't worry, I didn't start unwrapping without you.” You smile as he walks in with a tray full of breakfast foods. He carefully walks, not wanting to spill anything. You hold your hands out and grab the tray after moving his blanket back so he can crawl back underneath them. With him all settled, he says, “This is my first Christmas gift to you.” You smile as you thank him and kiss his cheek as you settle the tray down over your legs. And see that he prepared everything just like how you liked it.
Which was different than any of the Christmases before, so you ask, “Did you grow up having breakfast on Christmas?” He shrugs, “It depended if my parents woke up before my brother and I.” You nod, “Ah, I always woke up before mine, so I guess that’s why we never had it.” He laughs, “I can see that. You're usually up before I am. I had to sneak out of here when you rolled over.” You laugh, and he smiles, “I love you.” You blush, “Ever since you wanted to say I love you more easily, you’ve certainly worked on it. But I love you too.” He smiles, and you lean your head on his shoulder after eating another bite of waffles.
You reiterate to him, “I mean it, you know? Every day that I wake up, and you’re beside me. I’m so thankful.” He kisses the top of your head, “I’m so grateful that I get to fall asleep beside you. I wish we always got to, like those married couples on TV.” You nod, not thinking much of the fact he specified them being married. “Me too, but I guess that’s the beauty of it. Even when they’re apart, they’re together.” He hums, and you move your head off his shoulder to finish your meal.
When you've both finished eating, he moves the tray, and you follow him down the stairs excitedly. When he asks, “Do you want to start the dinner with me first, and then we open presents?” You pout, “You’re no fun.” He laughs, “But you love me anyway.” You grin, “Yeah. Let’s make it!” Even though it was different, you shrugged it off and happily went with it. You both moved away from the living room and into the kitchen.
You pull out your cookbook and find the correct settings for the ham. And set the oven as he pulls it out and places it into the sink you cleaned the night before. He takes off the wrapping while you prepare the pan. You hold the bag out for him to put it in before dunking it with a sugary drink and adding brown sugar and fruits to the top. As you smother it, you ask, “Isn’t it kind of sacrilegious for you to eat ham?” He blinks at you before he realizes what you meant and bumps you with his hip. “No, two different animals.” You giggle, “I know, plus you’re more of a shark.” He smirks, “You know just what to say.” You grin and wash off your hands before tying the bag. You hear the buzzer ring, open the door, and put it into the oven as Kihyun washes his hands.
He starts cutting up veggies for the two of you to eat while you watch a Christmas movie, and you pull out a smaller cutting board to work alongside him. You make a small veggie tray for the two of you to snack on. Before heading to the living room, “So, Mr. Let’smakedinnerfirst. When are we going to open our presents?” He looks at the time before looking back at you, “Later.” You tilt your head, “Why?” He shrugs, and you realize he must have a big surprise waiting under the tree for you, or he wouldn’t be hesitant to open presents.
In fact, this is the first time in seven years. He’s waited to open presents. You want to say something to that fact, but you hold back. Whatever the reason was, it was a good one. And you didn’t want to ruin your surprise by pestering him because you knew he’d probably blurt it out due to his nerves. You let it go and eat your veggies while watching ‘Arthur Christmas,’ “You know, this is probably the most plausible Santa Claus movie.” He agrees, and you both watch as the little girl finally gets her present after the hundreds of trials and tribulations it took to get to her house. Santa finally made it. He says as the movie ends, “I think that was the best role for the older brother to fit.” You agree, “I think it was perfect how everyone ended up.” He nods, and you both get up from your cuddled position to start prepping other things to eat alongside the ham.
As you’re peeling an orange, he looks at the packaging and watches as you eat a slice, “Shouldn’t you not be eating these?” You tilt your head at him, and he goes, “Because you’re a cutie.” You laugh and tap his shoulder, “Ki!” He grins, “I’m right, you know.” You gasp as he steals the rest of your peeled orange and eats it. And you exclaim, “Kihyun!” He laughs before handing you another orange to peel. You push it back into his hands and cross your arms, and he shakes his head as he peels it for you, “Happier?” You grin as you snatch it before offering him a piece, which he gladly takes. “Now, we’ve both had one full one. And yeah, I’m happier now.” He smiles, “Good.”
To avoid having loads of dishes later, you start doing the dishes now. As you scrub one, you feel his arms slide around you before pulling you against him. He links his hands around you and says, “I love you. I hope you know how happy you make me.” You look back at him, “I love you too. And you make me very happy, too.” You put another dish on the rack to dry, and he unlinks his arms, grabs a cloth to dry, and puts the clean dishes away. As he puts away the plates, he starts singing one of your favorite love songs. You hum softly along until he encourages you to sing with him. He pulls you away from the soapy sink and holds your hands as he serenades you. He waits for you to sing your lines before he continues along. It doesn’t matter how many times you’ve heard his singing voice. It still sends shivers down your spine. You grin as the two of you sing in harmony.
As he finishes the song with butterflies running amuck in your stomach, he asks, “If you could be with me forever, would you?” You take a second to process his question before answering, “Of course I would. But I’ve already told you that.” He grins, “I know, but I just like hearing you say it.” You shake your head and smile at him. And he places a kiss on your forehead before you both finish up the current dirty dishes. The oven rings after you’ve finished and you put away your cookbook. Kihyun pulls the ham out of the oven and opens the bag while you turn the stove on.
And in no time, you’re eating Christmas dinner in front of the TV. Usually, you’d eat at the dining table, but because of the holiday and all the specials playing, you just had to eat in the living room. You both could clean up later if it gets dirty anyway. You watch ‘A Year Without A Santa Claus’ as you eat and giggle at the Miser Brothers' scenes, but find yourself sniffling at the “I believe in Santa Claus” song, and you turn to see Kihyun do the same thing. And you nuzzle closer to him, wary not to tip your plate. You finish your plate as the movie ends, and you both head back to the kitchen to clean up and throw trash away. It takes a while before you’re done and your hands are clean again. You head back to the living room, finding you both still have to open presents. You look over at Kihyun with pleading eyes and a pout, and he nods.
“Can I put it on tape?” You blink at him, “Tape?” He shakes his head, “I meant- I mean, film it on my camera?” You shrug, “Yeah, it’ll be nice to look back on next Christmas.” He smiles, “Maybe even more than that.” You grin and agree. He sets up his phone to film you both opening your presents. You drag your present piles over to the couch in front of his phone, and you do your best to ignore the camera as Kihyun does so effortlessly. You shake off any nerves before diving right into your pile while he does the same. You received a gift from each of your friends and a few from Kihyun. You open your friends' gifts first and appreciate each gift before ripping open the next package.
The pile of paper around you two becomes bigger and bigger as you open more and more presents. You look over to see Kihyun starting to open one of your presents. You smile as he opens the dark blue sweater you got him. He looks over at you as he puts it to his chest, “You got me the perfect shade of blue.” He winks at you as he takes his current sweater off before ripping off the price tag from the label and putting it on. He waits for you to open one of his, and you smile as you rip it open. And out falls a (f/c) cardigan, “I know you love wearing mine a lot, but I thought you should have one that went with more of your outfits.” You follow suit, ripping the tag off, and grin as you slip it over your long sleeve, “I love it.” You open your last two gifts from him and show him happily, and he shows you his.
You're looking through your pile to ensure you didn't miss anything. When Kihyun clears his throat, you don’t think much of it but still look over at him to watch him slip off the couch onto his knee. You ask, “You want help cleaning up?” Thinking that’s why he was getting off the couch and onto the floor. He shakes his head before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small box with a tiny bow on top of it. You whisper, “No way,” as you realize what he’s doing. You quickly move to sit properly and move all the wrapping paper and gifts off your lap. To truly perceive what’s going on. Now you know why he wants to film it other than his regular filming and photographing habits. He smiles as he watches you. When you finish, he’s moved a few things blocking his view.
He opens the box and reveals a darling ring with your favorite stone in the middle. But what causes you to start crying is when he says, “You're the most beautiful gift I could have ever hoped for. A gift I want to keep forever. Will you allow me?” You move the sleeve of your new cardigan down over your right hand to wipe your eyes before answering, “Of course.” He slips the ring over your left finger as you continue your answer, “You’re the greatest gift I could have hoped for. When I said earlier, I would be with you forever if I could. I meant it. I love you so much. I won’t just allow you to. I want you to. And I want to be with you forever.” He smiles, and you grin as you get on the floor in front of him and pull him into your arms.
When you've gained some composure, you ask, “Is this why you wanted to wait to open presents?” He nods, “I wanted it to be perfect.” You shake your head, “Even if it was a messy proposal. As long as it was from you, it’d always be perfect.” He holds you tighter, and you feel tears hitting, dampening your layers of clothes. You move your head away from his shoulder to look him in the eyes, “I knew five months into dating you I wanted to marry you.” He sniffles as you wipe his tears. And he reaches up to do the same. You can’t help but grin at him, “I love you. Oh, how I love you.” He tells you proudly, “I love you with my whole heart.” before cupping your cheeks and bringing you into a passionate-filled kiss.
When you are both back on the couch, you ask another question, “And is that why you wanted to film it so badly?” He nods, “Yeah, I wanted us to keep this moment forever.” You smile as you kiss his nose, “Me too. I'm glad you did. We should play it at our wedding.” He grins, “That's exactly what I was thinking.”

Directionless
Pairing: You / Kihyun
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1,624
Genre: Soulmate!AU
Summary: In a world where soulmates have compasses directing them to where their other half is, Kihyun believes that he can’t possibly have anyone out there. Even if he did, he could never go and find them. But what happens when one day his own soul bond drags him to you?
Tumblr media
Kihyun has spent almost his entire life staring down at the compass embedded in his wrist; watching as the needle spun and turned and wobbled, begging him to go and search and find that person who he was meant to be with. The only problem with having this kind of soul bond was that he couldn’t do that. Kihyun couldn’t impulsively jump on any plane and start bouncing around the world to find his other half. Even if he wanted to, his own job constraints and the life he chose to live kept him from doing so.
Currently, he’s sitting at a table in front of a wave of fans that he and the other members of Monsta X were greeting, yet all he can do is stare down at his wrist. The needle is going crazy, twirling around in a frantic state, as if it’s as confused as he is about where his soulmate might be. The voice of a young girl brings him from his thoughts and Kihyun smiles politely, dragging his shirt sleeve down over his wrist so it won’t distract him anymore. Of course, it’s obvious to almost everyone there that he’s not really in the moment, though no one is sure how to bring him back.
Kihyun is in the middle of speaking with one of the Monbebes when he feels a slight tug on his wrist. At first, he ignores it, assuming Wonho is messing around with him and yanking his sleeve to get a rise from him. After the fifth time, Kihyun finally turns, glare set on Wonho, who blinks in surprise.
“What?”
“Would you stop pulling at my sleeve already? It’s annoying,” Kihyun whispers, not wanting to draw attention to the situation.
Wonho snorts, shaking his head and putting his hands up in defense. “I’m not pulling at your sleeve, Kihyun. I’ve been signing merchandise and playing around with the Monbebes. It must be your imagination.”
Kihyun opens his mouth to retaliate, maybe even call Wonho out on his lie, when a sharp tug has him falling out of his seat. He blinks, staring with wide eyes at Wonho before yanking his shirt sleeve down to his elbow, seeing the needle pointing towards the North and jerking frenetically. Another small tug has him realizing that this is what was yanking his sleeve the whole time, and heat rises to his cheeks when he figures out that his soulmate must be close. Before anyone can stop him, Kihyun is on his feet, jogging in the direction that his compass needle points, apologizing whenever he bumps into someone.
“Watch where you’re going kid!”
“I apologize sir, I’m in a hurry.”
“HEY! I’ve got a baby with me! Please be more careful!”
“So sorry miss, I’m trying to find my soulmate.”
Kihyun honestly can’t remember how many times he apologizes to people, always recycling the same excuse as he keeps his attention focused on the compass needle that jerks and swings and spins in odd directions. Frustration begins to seep into his system when the needle suddenly stops moving all together and the tugging ceases. He thinks he must look idiotic, waving his arm around and grumbling to himself that the damn thing’s broken.
“Are you really going to stop working now? They’re here! They’re somewhere in this place and you decide now is a good time to lose direction?!” Kihyun groans, spinning around in the same spot and searching frantically for someone, anyone, who may look like he does right now.
With a defeated sigh, he rubs at his temples and starts trudging back towards the meet and greet. As he draws further from the place he was only seconds ago, his wrist begins to burn, the tugging sensation picking up and making him wince. He slaps his free hand over his left wrist, snarling at the somewhat inanimate object.
“Stop that. If you’re just playing a game, then I’m not interested anymore,” he snaps, growing agitated with the stupid soul bond.
Another harsh tug causes him to stumble back, feet slipping and sliding as he’s nearly dragged by the unseen force of his soul bond. Kihyun is honestly shocked by the people who walk past him, ignoring the fact that he’s being towed around by no one. How come no one was reacting? Did they not see it or not care? He assumes it’s the latter, and it makes a pit open in his stomach at how uncaring people can be.
Kihyun is too focused on the people ignoring him to realize that another body is being dragged in a similar fashion right towards him. The impact of the two is what finally catches his attention, nose to nose with the most beautiful person in the entire world, or at least it feels that way to him. On your end, you can’t get the thought of how handsome he is out of your own mind. You’ve spent so long searching for him, traveling when you could in a desperate attempt to find him and now…now he was here.
Neither of you move, breathing in each other’s air and getting lost in the other’s gaze. Someone bumps into your back, causing you to stumble forward that last inch and bump lips with Kihyun, who jerks back at the contact and flushes darkly. You both stand there awkwardly, cheeks beginning to burn red at how unexpected all of this is, especially the small, accidental kiss. After another moment, you open your mouth to speak at the same time Kihyun sucks in air to form his own words.
“Ah, you can go first-“
“No, no you go first.”
Kihyun rubs at the back of his neck, glancing up at you briefly before deciding he can’t keep standing here and ignoring what’s going on.
“I’m Kihyun. I-I can’t…I honestly didn’t think you existed,” he murmurs, chuckling softly at how stupid he is for believing such a thing.
You smile, head titling to the side as you cross your arms over your chest and raise a brow. “Oh really? And here I thought you were the one who didn’t exist. I spent all this time searching for you and you’ve been here the whole time.” Waving your hand exaggeratedly about yourself, you smirk at seeing him squirm.
He winces at the way you say it, feeling like he should have been trying harder to find you, but your laughter causes him looking up in confusion. You bring a hand up to cover your mouth, eyes crinkling as you laugh at the pout that pulls at his lips. Shaking your head, you attempt to take in some air before speaking, watching his brows furrow.
“I’m not angry, I hope you know that. I just always found it kind of hilarious that you never moved. I mean, there were sometimes that my compass needle would fidget, but it almost always pointed in the same direction. I suppose it only makes sense, if you’re a…well, based on the number of security hiding a bit away from us, you’re important?”
Kihyun glances behind him, surprised to see you’re right and a small cluster of security have been trailing him this entire time. His blush returns full force and he turns his gaze back on you so quickly, it nearly causes him whiplash. You purse your lips at the way he winces and rubs his neck, clearly feeling the effects of moving that fast, which sends a rush of concern through you. Kihyun exhales slowly, not sure where to look in the moment, because he knows if he looks back at you he’ll only be tongue tied.
“I’m an idol. You know, like…for music? I’m in a group called Monsta X.”
Humming softly, you rub your chin in thought, head tilting to the side in a way that Kihyun knows he’s going to fall in love with. That same smile from before splits your face and you take a step closer to him, poking his cheek softly, a sort of teasing nature behind the affectionate act. Kihyun can only think about how nice it is to be this close to you and how he never wants there to be any space between you two for the rest of his life.
“I know what an idol is. I’ve been in Korea for about a year, so I’m aware of you and your group. I honestly never thought you would be my soulmate. I kind of assumed it would be some normal person, not a big hit idol,” you tease, though there’s some truth behind your words. You never in a million years would have thought that a celebrity would your soulmate; things like that don’t happen in real life, even if it’s happening right now.
Kihyun raises his arm slowly, fingers wrapping around your wrist before sliding down to your own hand, lacing your digits together. The small action has both of your hearts racing, his smile – more of a smirk really – bringing a light to his features that you think could keep away any dark in your life. It’s oddly intimate, holding his hand, but you suppose it makes sense given you two are soulmates. Someone calls for Kihyun, reminding him of the meet and greet and he huffs, cheeks puffing out in frustration. You giggle at that, poking them playfully again, causing him to laugh as the air rushes from inside his mouth.
“Come with me? I don’t want to waste a second away from you. At least not until we’ve made up on lost time,” Kihyun whispers, head dipping slightly to get closer to your face.
You pretend to think, making him pout slightly, before nodding slowly. “I don’t think I could imagine anything better.”

Your plump lips, wonderful figure, thoughtful eyes, soft skin- he could continue.
Is it wrong for him to love you?
He slid the blade from the side of your face to your neck.
Kihyun had discarded your clothes and had you tied up in your basement.
Dominated in your own home.
Kihyun planned to kill you till he noticed how wet you were.
How you dripped for him and how what he thought were moans and groans of fear were needy.
It would be a lie to say you weren't interested in this kind of thing. You always wanted to try this kind of thing.
You knew it wasn’t appropriate to want a literal killer to rail you but he looked too hot.
The way Kihyun manhandled you and grazed his knife against your body, made your brain fuzzy.
Kihyun gently took the duck tape off your mouth and put the knife back to your neck.
“T-touch me,” you whimpered to your killer, desperately wanting to be pleasured.
Kihyun smiled and took off his mask.
When he did you practically drooled.
He figured, he got this far, he couldn’t simply let you go or kill you after this point anyway.
Kihyun turned the knife to its handle and held the back of the blade. Without warning he pushed the handle into you, causing you to whimper.
He started to thrust the handle in and out of you, faster, using his free hand to rub your clit.
Your juices start to drip down the blade making kihyun decide to stop.
You began to clench around nothing from the sudden emptiness.
“Please, sir!”
Kihyun smirked at the honorific.
“Lick,” Kihyun said simply, holding the blade to your mouth.
His expectation was clear and it’s not like you didn’t want to, so you did as told and licked the shape side of the blade, causing you to cut your tongue a bit.
Kihyun immediately crashed his lips into yours, tasting not only your fluids but also the metallic flavor of your blood.
This is the hottest thing you’ve ever experienced, and you felt a shot of excitement spike your body as your captor started to remove his pants.
Kihyun connected his lips to yours and pushed his member into yours.
He continued the ram into you despite your screams and whimpers.
Kihyun seeing the tear weld in your eyes and hearing your moans against his mouth was heaven.
He felt himself feel close to his orgasm and pulled out, while also separating the kiss.
“Please put it back, I’ll be so good for you, please mister,” pleads spilled from your mouth trying your hardest to convince Kihyun to fuck you again.
Tears started to drop faster from your eyes as you continuously clenched around nothing.
“I need you, please,” you sobbed.
A light bull went off in Kihyun’s head, he quickly placed a thumb in your mouth to get you to stop talking.
“Shut up for me, darling.”
And you did.
What else could you have done?
You were so ready to submit to this man.
Not just for now, but for as long as you lived.
Kihyun pressed his cock into your mouth, which was already slick with your saliva, from the amount of drooling you've done.
“God,” Kihyun slurred, letting out an elongated sigh.
“Your mouth is perfect, pretty thing,” he said, gripping your breast, giving special attention to your nipple.
Kihyun used his free hand to grip your hair and thrusted into your mouth.
You gagged and choked but you took it all like a good slut just for him.
Kihyun eventually came into your mouth and you didn't let a single drop spill.
You treasured every bit of him and what he gave you and this was no exception.
“Fuck,” Kihyun cursed pulling out of your mouth.
He looked down at you and smiled, filling your chest with pride.
“I’m gonna keep you,” he said, ruffling your hair, and kissing your forehead, making you smile.

Nowhere To Be
Here's 859 words of fluffy post-idol!Kihyun drabble(?) brought to you by "I totally forgot I didn't have to go to work today." It's even in second person.
Tumblr media
It takes years before he learns to sleep in.
In the beginning, it works to his benefit. He can’t sleep past four hours, anyway, and so he commits to his new job with all the fervor he once put in to his schedule. He rises in the ranks quickly, but it feels off.
Eventually, he realizes living for his job isn’t the same without Monbebe, that his new work isn’t fulfilling enough to be worth every ounce of his being. He wants to take time for himself, even if he doesn’t know how.
Tumblr media
The first nights you spend together, he’s worried about how you’ll handle it. Not everyone likes to awaken alone in a cold bed, never mind that he’s still there, that his heart is still in bed with you even if he’s in the kitchen making coffee and breakfast.
You don’t mind. Honestly, you’re not even surprised. The man is wired to be, well, wired. When you pad out to his kitchen bleary eyed, he passes you a mug of coffee and you praise him for the saint he is.
He learns pretty quickly that mornings aren’t your thing, but the two of you manage to make it work.
Tumblr media
Guilt like a hook behind his navel yanks him from sleep, leaves him heart racing and rigid on his side, staring blankly at the wall. He tries to control his breathing, tries to recover from the sudden trauma of every fiber in his body jerking awake at once. It’s okay, he’s not late. Today is Saturday. He’s not late, he doesn’t have anyplace to be.
Some long forgotten instinct makes you stir from your slumber, if just barely. One eye flutters open and shut again, enough to confirm that Kihyun has tossed off the blankets and is awake.
The sight of him warms your heart, and so like a heat-seeking missile you follow it, inching sleepily away from your pillow to his side. One arm drapes loosely over his waist and you snuggle closer, breasts warm and soft against the bare skin of his back.
He waits, unsure if he should say anything, but you’re not really awake, anyway. You nuzzle a few idle kisses to his shoulder, lips lingering as you mumble out some unintelligible affection, and then you’re asleep again and it doesn’t matter.
He lays there a while longer, listening to your breathing as he relaxes, before he starts to doze.
It’s after nine when you wake. Kihyun’s spot is cold, but there’s a steaming cappuccino on the nightstand. After two years together, it’s not like this routine is new. Maybe you’re more of a morning cuddle kind-of person, but coffee in bed is still good compromise.
You don’t remember your late-night snuggling, totally ignorant of the fact that for the first time in almost a decade, he stayed in bed until seven, comfortable and secure in the shelter of your big spoon.
Tumblr media
The first time you wake before him, you think something’s wrong. A quick glance at the clock – it’s already past seven – and you assume he’s sick.
It’s cold and wet and raining, which is normally a perfect excuse for you not to move, but you slide gingerly out of bed, determined to get a head start on the chores so he’d have no excuse to not relax for the day. Maybe start some soup for whatever was ailing him.
When you poke your head back in an hour later, he’s uncovered himself – again. But even lying on his stomach with his face squished up against his pillow, you’re not sure if you’ve ever seen him look so at peace.
You must have made some noise, because without opening his eyes he mumbles at you. “Why’d you leave?”
“I was making soup... it’s almost nine. Are you feeling okay?” It’s not teasing, it’s concern, and something in your tone makes him roll over, arm flopped over his eyes because he’s still not ready to be awake, but then he moves it again so he can look at you, and the sleepy smile he gives you fills you to the toes with love.
“I’m fine. Come back.” He closes his eyes and lifts an arm in invitation. Skepticism makes you hesitant, uncertain that he’s truly well, and he feels you waiting.
One eye creeps back open, and he looks mischievous even half asleep. “Come back here and I’ll prove I’m fine.”
And he does fulfill his promise, but it’s much later, after he’s lured you back to sleep with his soft kisses and warm embrace.
The two of you do eventually move to the couch, but cuddly Kihyun doesn't go away. He pulls up a show on netflix and slides back under the blankets, though the warmth he's really after is just your body pressed against his.
He’s decided for the both of you that it’s an excellent day to laze about, and you’re definitely not going to argue, even if you're still surprised after you realize you've binged the entire first season.
It’s a holiday, after all, and neither of you has anywhere better to be than each other's arms.

yoo kihyun - reacting to his broken rib
Tumblr media
Pairing: Yoo Kihyun x Reader | Genre: fluff | Warnings: none | WC: 520 words
Request: Hi! If you’re still taking requests, may I request a little something with Kihyun (Monsta x)? I’ve been really missing that boy lately 😔 I’ve also always wanted to write/read something that had to do with how the reader would react to the news of him fracturing his rib (on the 2019 tour). Like if she was accompanying him on tour or heard about it and flew out to check on him. I’ve just been finding it hard to write about him since I miss him 🥺 Hope that makes sense? Thank you! :)
Tumblr media
↬ Unfortunately, you weren’t able to accompany Kihyun on this world tour this time around due to conflicting schedules. Though he had promised he would stay safe, have fun and of course, send you many pictures.
↬ What you definitely didn't expect though was to receive a call in the early hours of the morning from Kihyun himself, informing you that he had fractured his rib.
↬ In an instant you panicked after hearing his words, placing him on speaker as you scrolled through your phone to book the next plane ticket out to him, despite him assuring you that it wasn't necessary.
↬ "I'll be fine love, everything will be okay. I'm resting now considering I can't do the concert. Besides, you can't take work off either. Just relax, I'm more than okay.
↬What you thought was the truth, soon turned out to not be. Your first mistake was believing him when he said he wasn't participating in the concert.
↬ Considering you were awake, you thought, why not watch it after you found a link that didn't drop out. Then when you saw Kihyun sitting on a stool in the corner, still belting out his high notes like nothing occurred just hours before, did you become pissed.
↬ At that moment in time, you wanted nothing more than to teleport there and grab him by the ear as you gave him a scolding of a lifetime. At least you felt somewhat relieved that he was seated and not jumping around the stage like the rest of the members.
↬ You spoke too soon.
↬The moment you saw him get up during the last song and start jumping and dancing around the stage, did you start to seethe in anger and worry. You noticed the way his members face contorted into shock for a moment and that's when you had made up your mind.
↬ Here you were, a day later, marching through the hotel like you were on a mission. You looked like a mad woman with the way you tapped your foot impatiently in the elevator. It didn't take long for you to bang on the hotel room which woke up a sleepy Shownu and to say he was surprised when he saw your figure was an understatement.
↬ Without saying a word, you pushed past him and made your way towards the inside of the room. A sleepy Kihyun waking up from all the noise.
↬ "What’s goin—Y/N! What are you doing here?! He was more than shocked to see you standing there in front of him, completely missing the glare that adored your face.
↬ “You’re about to have a lot more than a broken rib, Yoo Kihyun,” You threatened and he gulped, looking over at Shownu to try and signal that he needed backup, to which he only shrugged.
↬ “I’m going to go see what’s for breakfast," He said with a yawn, leaving the two of you to deal with whatever was going on.
↬ Safe to say, Kihyun would never be performing injured again. Not on your watch.

Ghost Tour Surprise
Tumblr media
Character: Kihyun and Female Reader
Word Count: 1.4K
Synopsis: Y/N takes a haunted tour of historical downtown, meeting a strange, yet handsome passenger along the way.
***
The night had finally come. The night where she would ride on a tour bus learning about the most haunted parts of the city with a bunch of strangers. Her friends were too chicken to come along with her, preferring to go to a party instead. It was Halloween night, and for the first time since she’d started this little tradition, the moon was full, giving the whole experience an even spookier feel than before.
She knew all the stories already, but still truly enjoyed hearing them again. The tale of the haunted club, the story of the drunken ghost at the brewery, the unidentified red-eyed ghoul and much more. Each person strung along the tales in their own way, adding their personal touch, bringing new life to each account told.
Now the time had come to stop at the cemetery; one of Y/N’s favorite places. Stepping off the bus, she smiled as she gazed up at the night sky. The glowing orb had drawn higher up into the clear onyx sky surprisingly providing much illumination below. Moving forward, she walked quietly, meandering around the cemetery, reading each headstone she passed.
She paused on one and leaned forward to touch the stone that gleamed in the silvery light. She was surprised to find the marble to be warm. Her eyes skimmed over the carving into the stone, but the sound of the tour guide calling everyone back distracted her from capturing all the details. With a sullen sigh, she joined her group, which then returned to the bus.
Finding her seat, she peered out the window, noticing a mist beginning to cover the area. There was a magical beauty to the cemetery with its gargoyles, cherubs and angel statues that littered the grounds. The peaceful quietness was something she looked forward to whenever she walked the paths of the graveyard.
Giving it a wistful smile, she sat up a little straighter in her seat when the bus gently jerked forward. It was then that she noticed, out of the side of her eye, that there was someone sitting in the seat next to her. She’d been riding alone prior to the stop, and there should be the same amount of passengers as before...soooo….
She turned her head more to the side and was met with a pair of soulful mahogany brown eyes. His skin was pale, bringing out the darkness of those all too knowing eyes even more. His hair was a brown so dark, it could be mistaken for black. And even though the bus was dim, the emergency lights running down the aisle offered a barely noticeable illumination, he appeared to let off a soft glow of his own.
He stared back, a bit of curiosity now wrinkling his brow. It was this that seemed to break the trance she was in.
“Hey,” she smiled. “Didn’t want to take the tour by yourself?” He smiled, shaking his head as a reply. The way his lips quirked up at each corner had her heart beating a little bit faster than normal. “Are you scared?” she teased.
“No,” he laughed. “Are you?”
She shrugged, “Naw. I come every year. It’s how I like to pass Halloween Night.”
“Me as well.”
He had a mischievous little smirk that had her eyeing him suspiciously.
“Really? I’ve never seen you around before.”
“Perhaps we have just missed each other those nights, but I assure you...I have been here.”
Hmm...there was something strange about the young man. He certainly didn’t speak like anyone she knew.
“Maybe…” she trailed off.
The tour guide interrupted their banter and both became quiet. They would be making another stop soon. When the guide stopped talking the two continued conversing.
“If you would like, I know a bit of not-so-commonly-known information of some of the places we will see, I could procure you this knowledge. Enhance the tour for you a bit this time around.” She quirked an unconvinced eyebrow at him. “I speak the truth. I am certain you’ve heard it all. I can make it a tad more fun.”
“Alright then,” she finally gave in. “I’ll bite.”
He looked at her, a strange look on his face as he scooched away a little. “No need for all that.”
“You‘re weird,” she laughed. “I’m not literally going to bite you.” She covered her mouth to muffle the giggles spilling forth uncontrolled. “I’m Y/N, by the way.”
She offered a hand for him to shake. His hand reached forth, but instead of a handshake, he gently shifted her hand and brought it towards him as he bent his head down. His fingers were cold, but smooth. When his soft lips pressed a light kiss at her knuckles, goosebumps spread across her arms.
“It is a great pleasure to meet you.” His voice was soft-spoken, only making the goosebumps more prominent. “I am Kihyun.”
A slight nagging at the back of her mind felt a familiarity suddenly, but she quickly brushed it away. Certainly she’d remember a strange speaking guy, especially one as devilishly handsome as he.
Slipping her hand out of his grasp, she had to swallow a few times before she could reply with, “Nice to meet you, too.”
As the tour continued they remained together. True to his word, he offered new details she hadn’t heard before at almost every place they stopped. There was something about how he spoke that captivated her. The low modulation of his voice was appealing to listen to and soon she forgot about the tour and those around her. It was just Kihyun and herself, the world having fallen away from her mind.
After about two hours of strolling through historical downtown, it was time to return to the bus. To Y/N, it seemed like they had just gotten there. She’d had such a great time with Kihyun. If he didn’t ask for her number, she would certainly ask for his, unabashedly. He was gorgeous, smart and they’d hit it off so well? Definitely not passing up this opportunity.
Back in their seats, they settled in for the ride back. Kihyun was more quiet now, barely speaking as they neared the cemetery.
“What’s wrong?” Y/N finally asked.
With a sorrowful look, he cupped her cheeks.
“I have to go now, but please know… I have not enjoyed myself this much in cent…,” he paused, his lips thinning momentarily. “Let us just say, it has been a long long time. I will miss you.”
Confusion drew her brows down, “I don’t understand. I can give you my number. We can talk and see each other again soon...if you want...”
“I am afraid not,” he sighed desolately.
Before she could protest again, he leaned forward as he also guided her face towards him. Bringing his lips against hers, he swallowed the gasp she released. Y/N felt warm to him, but for her the flesh of Kihyun’s lips were cool, his tongue as it pressed gently, begging for entrance, was like ice as she granted permission. Her heartbeat thrummed wildly beneath her ribs when their kissed deepened for a moment longer. It was like a battle between fire and ice and neither wanted to pull away.
But pull away, he eventually did.
“Kihyun,” she swallowed hard, her tongue swiping across her lips and feeling the chill their.
“Good-bye, Y/N,” he whispered.
“Wait...what?”
She knew the bus would not stop to release passengers until they reached the parking lot. The bus ride wasn’t over yet, so why was Kihyun giving his good-bye’s now? He squeezed her hand one last time just as the bus stopped at a red light.
Y/N blinked.
It was a split second. One moment he was there and the other moment he was not. She shot up in her seat, looking around. Some of the riders had fallen asleep. It was just passed midnight now. Her eyes searched frantically out of the window. Nothing. Peering to the opposite side, she found an empty seat and rushed to it. Again, she squinted out into the darkness her eyes catching sight of a figure in black standing against a white and grey marble headstone.
Y/N gasped.
It was the headstone she’d touched. Eyes widening, she felt the hair on the back of her neck prick up as she recalled the message she’d briefly glanced at earlier.
Here lies Yoo Kihyun, son beloved...

chapter sixteen: the storm of the night before
You had never slept alone in your room ever since you gave birth. Partly because you weren’t well off enough to give Kian her own room just yet, but mostly because it puts you at ease hearing your daughter breathe as she slept.
Even when you two started living in the MX house, you still shared a room — although that was a product of another reason. Yes, the mansion has more than enough rooms to choose from, but Kian was still getting used to all the changes that happened — something in her old routine had to be kept the same. And it wasn’t like you support the idea of leaving your four-year old alone at night, either — especially in a location that might be swarmed by enemies as you slept. Of course, you knew she had to learn to become independent in that sense soon, but you were in no rush to have her grow up as soon as possible.
Thus, in the night before your wedding, when your cousin Seungcheol took Kian for the night to make the preparations the following morning easier, you felt uneasy sleeping by yourself.
Kian was picked up by her SVT uncles a few hours after lunch. As such, you didn’t even have the toddler to tire you out enough. You didn’t have work, either, since your vacation leave had already started. You had already cleaned and rearranged anything that you could, but you were still unfortunately wide awake. Watching anything to pass time was proven to be futile as well, since all the presented recommendations catered to your daughter and consequently just made you miss her even more.
You were told to sleep early, to prevent bags under your eyes. Unfortunately, even if you were trying your best to do exactly that, the silence in your room was deafening — suffocating you, too, almost. Even when you tried to put on some white noise to drown it out, sleep still couldn’t claim you.
Sadly, you couldn’t just grab a drink to help you knockout, either. After all, as much as sleeping early was important, waking up without a hangover was even more preferable.
"Ryuki?" You never imagined that you would’ve to resort to this. Your relationship with Ryuki had gotten even colder in the past weeks, right after your outing with I.M and Player. You weren’t sure why so — and you felt like you were in no position to ask, so you just let it be.
Unfortunately for him, he was the closest thing you had in your daughter’s absence.
"Can I help you?" Ryuki soon cracked his door open, just creating a small enough gap to peek at whoever dared to knock.
You hesitated for a moment as a bit of your sanity came back. Still, you couldn’t stop words from escaping your lips. "I miss Kian."
There was silence first, then— "And? Do you want to make another one?"
Had you been drinking anything, you would’ve surely spat it out. You knew providing an heir was in the contract between MX and SVT, but you hadn’t really talked to Ryuki long enough to ask if Kian already counted. And even if you now had the time to talk, you weren’t really in the mood to venture in that topic.
You snapped your mouth close, after involuntarily opening it due to shock. You immediately turned to leave, "I should’ve just went to Hyungwon."
Yet, before you could take another step, a hand encircled your wrist. "What did you really come here for?"
"I already told you . . . I miss my daughter."
"Our daughter," Ryuki corrected as he let go of your wrist. You then heard him let out a deep breath before he spoke up again, "Just go to sleep, we’ll see her tomorrow."
"I can’t—" You stopped suddenly, as if you thought better about your next words. "I’ve tried and I’m not so sure I can sleep without her."
Something shifted in the air suddenly, although you were unsure why it did. All you did know was it couldn’t be for of a good reason — especially since the temperature felt like it dropped a few degrees.
"It’s not easy sleeping alone when you’ve been so used to having someone next to you, isn’t it?" It wasn’t a question — nor was it still about your present dilemma. It was, for its complications, a long overdue topic — one that bloomed long before Kian was even born.
You sighed, this is going to be a long night.
Slowly, without another word, you turned back towards his direction and sat down in front of his door. Your back was pressed on the oak, your legs crossed and tucked under you. You looked up to meet his questioning eyes, your expression neutral.
"I’m sorry, Yoo Kihyun." You forced yourself to not break the eye contact as you finally referred to him by his civilian name. You needed him to see your sincerity and feel it resonate as much as possible, even if your apologies would only turn out to be futile later. "There are a lot of things I’m sorry for, but there is nothing I regret."
You heard him let out a dry chuckle. "Do you really hate me that much? Did— did I make your life that miserable? To the point that you don’t even feel an ounce of regret for leaving me?"
You hardened the expression you wore. "Don’t put words into my mouth. I never—"
"—But that’s what you meant, isn’t it?" Kihyun cut you off before you could even finish. "You even came up with a scheme—"
"—That’s not—"
"—To leave, involving the leaders of SVT and Hyungwon! How is it that you had no problem telling them the truth, but you didn’t tell me? I was—"
"—I couldn’t—"
Albeit you both initially tried to control your volume, your voices just kept on raising an octave with each argument — as both of you tried to be heard over the other. Thankfully, the whole floor wing was designated for Kihyun, so no one else was around to hear your screaming match.
Unspoken as it was, you were both glad that your daughter wasn’t round to overhear. Whether it was a blessing that Kian was over at Seungcheol’s in the first place was debatable, though. After all, was it really a good idea to address the elephant in the room the night before the wedding — when talking it out wouldn’t guarantee resolution?
By how everything was going, it wouldn’t be too surprising if addressing the past only created a greater divide between you and Kihyun.
It was a miracle one of you eventually managed to collect your mind and calm down. However, for what it was worth, it wasn’t at all surprising that it was you who did.
"Can you just listen to me?" You dropped your voice back down after you realized how ridiculous you two were being by trying to out-scream each other. "Just for a second, just listen. Please."
Your plead seemed to have shocked him, if you were going by the indication given by his suddenly wide eyes. However, just before you could conclude that he finally gave in, he spoke once more. "No.
"No," Kihyun’s voice held an unyielding finality in them, "because the last time I listened to you, you took Kian away from me."

chapter seventeen: the calmness after the storm
Despite Kihyun’s blatant refusal to hear you explain yourself, you still ended up doing so, anyway. Although, admittedly, that feat wasn’t achievable without a compromise.
You recognized you had left him with years worth of hatred and a multitude of unanswered questions, so you didn’t do anything that might potentially invalidate his feelings. Instead, you chose to let him have the microphone until he ran out of things to say — or until he ran out of energy to continue.
Then, once the hoarseness made it impossible to say anything else, you did your best to answer all his questions in order.
You never hated him. No matter how hateful and cruel your actions to him were, you had nothing but love for him.
You were in no way, shape, nor form miserable during your life together. In fact, you were extremely thankful that he went out of his way to separate and protect you from the dark side of MX. Not to mention he allowed you to continue living your civilian life as it was, without restrictions.
He was the main source of your happiness, the sole owner of your heart. At least back then.
Still, despite all of those, you didn’t feel an ounce of regret for ruining what you had then. Because, as you told him before you left, as much as you loved him, you just didn’t love him enough — enough to jeopardize Kian’s chance at a normal and safe life, that was.
"I can protect her. Both of you." Kihyun had long lost his energy to stand, so he had been sitting on the floor early into your spiel. You couldn’t see him clearly since it was quite dark in his room, but you could tell he was leaning against the wall — seating close to his bedroom door and to you, but facing the opposite way. "You didn’t have to leave."
You knew he was going to say that. You also knew he meant it with all his heart. You trust him to do nothing less, which admittedly part of the reason why you strengthened your resolve to leave. You liked how unrestricted you were, with just a tracker locating where you were. With the existence of a child, however, you knew you were bound to lose that freedom and instead be under constant surveillance — especially after what happened to Hayeon. Despite being well aware of his good intentions, you also knew you would end up hating him because of it.
You didn’t want to hate him. And you most certainly didn’t want him to face a situation where he would’ve had to choose between you and Kian or MX — nor, even worse, you or Kian.
"I couldn’t think of any other way that would give our child a chance at a normal life and also eliminate the possibility of you having to choose, so I made the call," you explained further. As brave as you were earlier, you no longer found the strength to look at him as you revealed everything. "I could never bear the thought of hating you; but I figured I could probably live with knowing you hated me, so I— I made you hate me. I made sure you blamed me for every reason why our relationship went down to flames."
"If you wanted to leave, you could’ve just said so," you heard him say. "You didn’t have to do all of that."
"Without the dramatics, would have you really let me go?" You challenged. "Without offering to fix whatever it was that made me want to leave? Without assigning people to trail me and keep me safe? Without checking in on me whenever you thought of me?" You paused to hear his response, but the silence only stretched the more you waited. Albeit he didn’t say anything, the loud silence that followed your prompt was enough. "I didn’t think so, either."
Everything you did back then was necessary. Most of them broke your own heart, but you had to soldier on — especially since your mission’s success guaranteed your removal from Kihyun’s radar. Without such thing monitoring you behind your back, you weren’t burdened with the possibility of him ever finding out. That way, you felt more at ease about raising Kian away from him.
SVT was involved because you needed someone who had similar capabilities as MX. You needed someone who could help you cover your tracks — not just from MX, but also from anyone who might use you against either MX or SVT. You didn’t plan on involving anyone from MX in your escape, partly because it was too risky to do so, but mostly because you didn’t want any of them to break his trust. After all, as much as you didn’t agree that MX’s business was safe enough for Kian’s wellbeing, you value the brotherhood that formed because of it — and, thus, would rather not be the cause of a rift.
Silence followed after you finished answering his questions and follow-ups. However, just before Kihyun could comprehend that you were actually done and not merely taking a pause, you uttered something under your breath. "I needed you to hate me, so you can forget about me; so you can move on.
"I had hoped that you’d find someone else, in my absence. Someone more deserving of your affection. Someone who would love you without reservations, like I did. But, alas." A timid smile suddenly graced your features. Rather than happiness, though, it was an act paired with a tint of sadness in your eyes. You turned towards him, "I’m sorry fate has bound us, Yoo Kihyun."

chapter eighteen: the quietness after the storm
The Yoo Kihyun you knew as his significant other was different from the Yoo Kihyun you had to come back to. He was colder. Meaner. Harder to read.
Not that you were counting his personality change against him. After all, you — of all people — knew what prompted him to be more closed off. Plus, it wasn’t like you two were still comfortable enough with each other to treat one another the same way as before.
Sure, between snide remarks and verbal quarrels, you two were still courteous to one another. Sometimes, the actions were from conscious decisions. Most of the time, though, they were out of instinct — a habit even the passage of time couldn’t erase.
Truthfully, you never really cared if his courtesy was consciously or unconsciously made — just like he does whenever you do the same.
However, for his newest display of courtesy, you somehow found yourself wondering which root it was from. "W— what?"
"Come to bed," Kihyun, without any specifications to guide him, took your reply differently. "Don’t make me repeat it again."
"Why—?"
"Don’t read too much into it," he dismissed your inquiry before you could even finish. "I just need to make sure you don’t run."
You didn’t buy his excuse. Unfortunately, even if you tired yourself hoarse from giving Kihyun his long-overdue closure, you still didn’t think you could sleep alone. Which, ultimately, left you with no other choice.
When morning came, the distance you put before you closed your eyes appeared to have melted with the moon.
Kihyun’s arm, which was nowhere near you when you slept, somehow found its way to wrap around you. Sometime between the transition from night to day, you had somehow gravitated toward him — if he didn’t unconsciously pull you closer in his sleep, that was.
Perhaps it was part of the whole ‘preventing you from running’ ruse. Or perhaps it was just another one of your unerased habit from long ago. Either way, whatever the case might be, his sleeping figure was unarguably the very first thing you saw when you fluttered your eyes open.
There were a number of years when you thought waking up next to him was the only way to properly start your day. When you agreed to be his betrothed for your second gamble, you ultimately decided that continuing to put your life at risk by staying by his side was worth it if it meant you got to start your days with him; if it meant you always had him to give you strength for any awaiting obstacles. You used to believe, albeit quite naively, that everything would be alright, as long as you had him.
And, really, it was . . . until it wasn’t.
You flinched away and attempted to create more distance, immediately realizing that Kihyun probably wouldn’t appreciate your proximity once he regained consciousness. However, much to your surprise, his arm instantly tugged you back — almost on instinct. Perhaps, you could easily blame the sleepiness in your system, but you could swear his hold on you tightened.
You had somewhat mastered escaping a hold, without waking up the person that was holding onto you, thanks to both Kihyun and Kian over the years. However, it wasn’t always effective — especially if the latter was in a sensitive state of sleep.
Considering how Kihyun reacted when you flinched, you could only assume he was partially aware of his surroundings. Thus, if you move one more time, you would definitely wake him up. And as much as you didn’t want to disturb his sleep, you needed him to let you get ready.
After all, neither of you could be late for your own wedding.
Rather than having him wake up abruptly, you chose to ease him into it — just like you used to do back then. "Kihyun," you called softly with your voice hoarse with sleep.
You took a moment to admire him when your first tactic didn’t seem to work, no matter how much you called him. With his eyes closed and sleep cradling him, there was nothing intimidating about him. He was just Kihyun, the man you used to wake up next to, the man you gambled your life for. And, somehow, seeing him in this state reminded you of what it was — and what it could’ve been.
Unconsciously, your hand found its way to his face. Fortunately, before it can make any contact with his cheek, you were able to freeze it mid-air.
Waking Kihyun up by touching his face was a second resort tactic by the old you, the you that loved him with everything that you were. Not the you that left him alone. And certainly not the you that lied and took his child away.
After what you did, you were well-aware that you no longer deserve a lot of things. But, as it seemed, the universe was conspiring to prove you otherwise.
The instant Kihyun’s eyelids fluttered, you retracted your arm back to you. You had half a mind to turn away so he wouldn’t catch you staring, but you already made eye contact with him before you could even shift.
You didn’t know what you expected to happen then, all you knew was you never would’ve guessed the very first thing he uttered after waking up.
"Can you learn to love me again?"

chapter nineteen: the rainbow of the morning after
Your wedding was a small, private affair. That was, if you consider having the entirety of MX and SVT in attendance a short guest list — not to mention the core members of their respective allies.
Considering that your wedding wasn’t really a civilian affair, there were only a handful of civilians present. Even then, all guests — except your daughter — were aware of the true nature of the event. In some form or another, everyone present had ties — personal or otherwise — with a mafia gang.
Although it was undoubtedly your wedding with Kihyun, at its core, it was a mere way for MX and SVT to seal off their alliance. Given that you were only an unofficial member of SVT, you weren’t really consulted with any wedding matters. As such, Kihyun was probably the only one they let privy to its details — and considering how well you two got along, it was no surprise that no information was ever passed on to you.
Really, the only reason you knew the wedding was still happening was due to the days Nari and Hayeon dragged you to get fitted for your wedding attire — once to get your measurements taken and the other to make any necessary adjustments. Absurd as it was, Nari and Hayeon were required by their significant others — Minhyuk and Changkyun, respectively — to not let you see your attire, so even that was still out of your reach.
You absolutely had no idea why you were forbidden to see the only preview you had for your big day. Thankfully, with all the deadlines and other obligations you had, you didn’t really had the time to dwell on it.
When the scheduled day finally arrived, you then immediately understood why MX went through such lengths to keep you from seeing your outfit beforehand.
Your attire was the exact replica of your sketch from five years ago, down to the smallest detail. Albeit you weren’t a fashion designer by any means, you tried your best to sketch your dream wedding attire using your skills as a professional architect. During the eight months of your first engagement, you were also able to sketch Kihyun’s outfit as well, with details added according to his own suggestions and preferences. Furthermore, albeit it wasn’t finalized and mostly just a cloud of brainstormed ideas on paper, you were also able to get started on sketching how you imagined the venue to look like. Of course, just like you did for his suit, you also incorporated Kihyun’s opinions into them. After all, it was supposed to be your wedding.
All your wedding-related sketches were inside a single sketchbook, one you purposely didn’t mix with any other artwork. If you remembered correctly, it also served as a journal to you back then; it also housing a specific portion of your thoughts — starting from the night Kihyun proposed and ending with the day you completed your third gamble. You were fairly certain you were able to take it with you when you left your shared apartment, but misplaced it sometime before you left the country, so you weren’t entirely sure how SVT and/or MX could’ve extracted ideas from it.
One thing was for sure, though: that sketchbook was definitely used during the planning of the wedding.
"Are you ready?" Seungcheol was the one set to walk you down the aisle. According to him, since SVT was the one who extended the olive branch to MX, his party had to be the one walking down to symbolize that. However, in Jihoon’s account of events, you were the one chosen to walk down the aisle simply because Seungcheol lost to Hyunwoo in rock paper scissors.
As such, you were unable to watch Kian walk down as the designated flower girl. Thankfully, Nari and Hayeon — as well as Soonyoung and Mingyu — were more than ecstatic to record that moment for you.
"Ready." As if merely waiting for your confirmation, the double doors opened from the inside — to reveal the path you must walk on with Seungcheol.
Truth be told, you had been contemplating what you were supposed to feel on your wedding day since the people contracted to fix you up started doing their job. Somehow, you managed to convince yourself that you’d be indifferent — after all, your upcoming marriage was contractual. Yes, the person at the end of the aisle was the same as the one in your dreams, but the circumstances were no longer as they were back then.
There was no longer love involved, unlike when you used to dream of the day.
However, when you finally saw how venue was decorated — how the one in charge for the decorations incorporated your ideas from five years ago, despite your lack of direct involvement — you realized otherwise.
After all this time, there was still love — even if it was no longer how it used to be.
"He still loves you, you know," you heard your cousin whisper as you two continued your slow walk down the aisle.
"Wha— what?" You answered in surprise, slightly convinced that he could read your thoughts.
"Kihyun still loves you," Seungcheol repeated. "He never said it out loud, at least not when SVT’s around, but I can tell."
You inevitably made eye contact with Kihyun at the end of the aisle, precisely at the moment you suddenly felt overwhelmed. Although your cousin didn’t say it directly, based on how you noticed him glancing around the venue at the corner of your eye, you connected that he was most likely referring to the wedding itself — somehow implying that Kihyun played a greater role in the preparation than you initially thought. More specifically, it seemed like Seungcheol was implying that Kihyun took charge of the decorations — which hereby also imply that he was the one who deliberately incorporated your ideas into the wedding.
Despite the coldness of your relationship — or lack there of — ever since you crossed paths once more, Kihyun still cared enough about you to make your dream wedding from five years ago a reality. He had no reason to do that, especially since the wedding was merely for an alliance’s sake and he clearly loathed you for the decisions you had made in the past, but he still thought of you as he planned out everything.
Sure, it would be valid to argue that it was merely another display of consideration from his part — or even as a manifestation of an unerased habit from long ago. However, somehow, you knew it was more than just a habit. It was a conscious decision: an act deliberately made — not out of respect, but out of something else entirely.
"Yeah," you replied slowly as memories upon memories of his unerased mannerisms came flashing back. You began to wonder just how frequent his conscious kindness towards you actually showed itself, but you were just too oblivious to take notice of its true nature. "I can tell, too."
You sent a smile on Kihyun’s way, as a silent assurance since you could sense that he was getting worried about your probably-glossed eyes. "You two are the same."
Fortunately for Seungcheol, you had finally reached the end before you could even think about questioning his observation. "What were you guys talking about?" Unfortunately for your cousin, though, it also meant that Kihyun heard his last remark.
"Sea will tell you later, I’m sure." He replied dismissively and cryptically all at once. "For now . . . take care of my cousin for me."
Seungcheol passed your hand to Kihyun, completing his role as the person who extended the olive branch.
With the distance between the two of you now being a mere two steps, you were able to see into his eyes. And, somehow, even if you had looked him right in the eye before, you were barely noticing what his gaze held whenever he looked at you.
Past whatever emotions he was currently feeling, buried beneath time and the clouds, was love. Albeit it wasn’t as it was, with all the scars it picked up along the way, it still exist — more prominent now than it probably would’ve been, especially with the disappearance of the mist obscuring it from view.
You weren’t quite sure how his love survived underneath all hatred and loathing you implanted within its roots, but it did. Somehow.
And maybe, just maybe, you’d let yourself gamble once more.
Can you learn to love me again?
"I can’t love you again," you whispered, only intending for him to hear, "because I never stopped in the first place."

A/N: Whoa, before I could get into my Neo Seoul 3 fic or post my next Idol Thieves chapter, I got carried away by the muse. Like, rul bad. Deep in the Kihyun feels, I guess. I’m almost sorry about it. Almost.
Tumblr media
It had been a difficult year for everybody, but today in particular, Shay was wallowing. The pandemic was still raging, her unemployment was about to run out, her bank account was dwindling, and there was still no sign of her company reinstating her, if it even survived the lockdown. Not to mention, her dim sum delivery was late, and there were few things as depressing as ice-cold, soggy dumplings. Worst of all, thanks to the never-ending stay-at-home order, loneliness was creeping relentlessly in.
Technically, Shay had a roommate, so, on the surface, she should have had a built-in friend to combat the isolation, but their arrangement was financial, not amicable. Kihyun was only that: a person occupying the same apartment as she was. Eight months into their tenancy, and she could probably count on one hand their number of in-person conversations. That wasn’t necessarily a complaint or a brag—they just didn’t talk, and that was fine because what did two opposing sides to the same coin have to say to each other anyway?
Kihyun was fastidious, the type to zip-tie all the loose cords and use a label maker to organize both their groceries on opposite sides of the refrigerator—including a whole honeydew he’d labeled with his name. He inventoried everything, too. Once, Shay snacked on one of his carrots with the full intention of replacing it on the next grocery delivery, but that same night, he had already added her fifteen-cent carrot IOU to their Venmo.
Still, it kept Shay honest, which was not her natural disposition. It had been her perennial New Year’s resolution to be more organized and aware like Kihyun, but she was lazy—the kind of lazy that made her question whether she had more genetically in common with a sloth than a human. She was the type to fold over a bag of chips and trust the air would just stay out lest it incur a typhoon of expletives on her next binge. Alarms were suggestions, and there was no such thing as an assigned seat on a couch—she parked it where she parked it, and she wasn’t getting up until she was thirty seconds from peeing her pants.
Yeah, Shay was a model human. Frankly, she wouldn’t have held it against Kihyun if he’d asked her to move by lease end, but they’d worked out an otherwise acceptable arrangement. They paid their halves of the rent. They bought their own groceries. They made their own meals and ate in their respective rooms. Excepting the kitchen, the common space was easily the least used room in the house. She wasn’t entirely sure that the TV in there had ever been on. If she saw Kihyun in the kitchen, she waited until he was gone to make her own food, and if she wanted a guest over, she would email him and request a time slot on their apartment calendar to have the place to herself.
It might be cosmically tragic, but it was also the nicest place Shay had ever lived. Kihyun was clean and polite and managed everything, which was fine because she was definitely too unorganized to do it. Once, at one of her old solo apartments, her furnace had gone out in the dead of winter, and she didn’t call the landlord for three weeks because it was just easier to pull an extra blanket over her head. But Kihyun was happy to do it all, and she was just as happy to let him. She remembered a word from science class a thousand years ago for just such an arrangement: symbiosis.
They could have easily finished out their lease this way and maybe even renewed for another if it weren’t for this damn pandemic. All the terrible news outside her walls was one thing, but after two months of staring out her window all day without even work to distract her, Shay was desperate for company.
As she picked up her dim sum from the hallway, she glanced at Kihyun’s door. Closed, as always. With a roll of her eyes, she headed back to her laptop to send her best friend Monique a video chat request. Only a minute later, and Shay’s screen was filled with the cherubic, coffee complexion of her bestie.
“Girl, this is, like, the third call today, and it’s barely past lunch,” Monique reprimanded.
“Shut up, you love me,” Shay fired back through a bite.
“I do, but that don’t mean I want to hear from you every ten minutes, especially when you got a whole ass dumpling wedged in your craw.”
Shay stuck out her tongue. “Wanna bring the other girls into the Zoom?”
“What I want is to take a nap. It’s, like, five hundred degrees in here. I’m sweating my lady lumps off just talking to you.”
“Lady lumps? Girl, no one ever called them that, let alone now.”
“What else am I supposed to call all these rolls and bumps?” Monique protested as she modeled herself like a show pony. “Sweaty as hell.”
“Ah,” sighed Shay. “I miss you.”
“Course you do, but—” There was a banging on the other side of Monique’s door, and she shouted at the top of her lungs, “What!”
Iesha, Monique’s pig-tailed little sister, threw open the door and barked, “Mom said you gotta help me with my science homework.”
Monique’s brows furrowed. “What part of a C student makes y’all think I know anything about science?”
“Then you can learn with me,” Iesha shot back effortlessly before she slammed the door and yelled from the other side. “Five minutes!”
Monique scrunched her face and rolled her eyes. “You see what I gotta put up with? Five hundred degrees, sweaty lady lumps, and I gotta go back to school again. Fuck this virus.”
“At least you have other humans to interact with,” Shay replied.
Her best friend furrowed her brow again. “What about that fine, snobby roommate of yours?”
“He’s not human. I’m pretty sure he’s a calculator or some shit.”
Monique bark-laughed. “Sorry, girl, wish I could entertain you, but I gotta go. Watch some porn or something. S’my favorite time waster. Okay, love you, bye, bitch!”
In a heartbeat, Monique’s screen went dark, and Shay was alone with her dumplings again. As soon as she finished them, she called a couple other friends, but none of them answered, though where the fuck they could be during a pandemic was beyond her. Unless, like Monique, everyone needed a break from her neediness.
Her best friend’s final suggestion weighed on Shay’s mind, but middle-of-the-day porn felt weird, so instead, she took a shower. It felt wonderful, but it hadn’t washed away her boredom or her ennui. A makeover attempt came next, but she didn’t like any of the eye shadow palettes she tried, and her foundation looked cakey, so she stripped back down to her glasses and freckles again. As a last resort, she made it through exactly six crunches before she just gave up and opened her browser.
Shay skimmed down Pornhub’s main page and clicked on a few things until she settled on an over-the-top roommates-to-fuck-buddies video. It was probably not as coincidental as she was trying to convince her mind it was, considering how much she’d been thinking about Kihyun today, but she insisted just so she didn’t feel as bad about it.
It was too hot to bother with the modesty of covers, not that it mattered considering Kihyun had never opened her door let alone bothered to knock. Still, the possibility was there, and that was enough to make her skin tingle and her core ignite. The thought of his handsome, stern face appearing in her door frame while she was spread eagle on her bed was so fucking sexy, she was almost ashamed of thinking about it.
Instead, Shay returned to the ridiculous plot line of one roommate getting stuck ass-out of the dryer while the other roommate took the opportunity to fuck her brains out. Stupid? Hell yeah, but the actors were hot, as was the dialogue, and the dude had a nice dick.
For a moment, she wondered what Kihyun’s dick looked like, but then the actress moaned especially gratefully in Shay’s headphones, and she returned to the scene at hand.
As the actor railed into the desperate woman from behind, Shay felt that familiar tightness spread across her hips, and she focused all of her attention on her needy clit now.
Suddenly, with a snap and a whir, the room went dark except for the eerie light from her monitor, which now featured a grayscale pixelated dinosaur and the horrific words “No Internet” instead of the messy money-shot she was promised. Her high fell away as spectacularly as if she’d been the victim of a good old-fashioned Ice Bucket Challenge.
“Fucking magical,” she groaned sardonically into her pillow.
Now she was frustrated in two ways.
She reached for her phone to hook up a hotspot, but there was that mocking sliver of red battery with its gleeful 3% warning in the corner.
“Fuck, Shay! Get your shit together,” she scolded.
She dug through her side table for her battery backup, but in some continued divine shamefest, the low charge LED was blinking back at her.
Damn her laziness to the darkest depths of Hell!
Shay collapsed onto her bed and stared blankly up at the ceiling questioning her every life choice. When this power outage was over, she was really and truly getting organized, so help her God.
It was already getting stifling without her window unit running, and, with a heavy sigh, she changed into a tank top and her most breathable yoga shorts, which had never been used for yoga anyway.
Shay padded into the living room, wrangling her chestnut hair back into a ponytail as a swell of heat hit her immediately. The soaring summer temps seemed as likely a reason for a brownout as any, and she immediately regretted leaving the lingering air conditioning from her bedroom. The hardwood was toasty under her feet where the butterscotch of afternoon funneled through the windows.
It was so clean in the common space, she would have thought it was for a lifestyle Instagram, though she couldn’t imagine Kihyun had any social media.
Shay peered across the neighborhood as neighbors flung open windows, lounged on fire escapes, and hung out laundry on alley clotheslines. She envied them. She didn’t even have a chore to occupy her.
Okay, that wasn’t true. Her room was a pigsty, but it was way too hot and she was way too lazy to embark on a journey through two weeks’ worth of dirty clothes and dishes.
Instead, she fished through her designated cabinet for a snack as the door to Kihyun’s room opened.
“You forget to pay the electric bill?” she joked when he joined her in the kitchen.
“Of course not,” he answered without looking at her.
“Of course not,” she echoed back.
It was weird, standing in the same room with her roommate. That should have been a stupid sentence, but it was true. Now that they didn’t even see each other in passing on their morning commutes, he had reverted to a virtual stranger.
“How’s it going?” Shay asked lamely.
Kihyun poured himself a glass of water as he replied, “Fine.”
He didn’t even give her the courtesy of asking her the same, and she wondered if he was either a total narcissist or painfully socially inept.
“Pretty hot in here, huh?” she continued, desperate for some human interaction, no matter how pitiful.
Kihyun shrugged and grabbed his water before heading back toward his bedroom.
“Wait!” Shay shouted. The word was out before she had the good sense to think about it.
He stopped and faced her for the first time in months. Fuck, he was better looking than she remembered.
His cinnamon hair sported a sleek undercut that was tousled too suggestively across his brow. A few errant strands shaded his dark chocolate eyes and high cheekbones, and the most irrational urge to comb it back buzzed through her fingertips. And then there was that ridiculously long expanse of sculpted neck just begging to be bruised, especially under his savage jaw line.
Damnit, she was too keyed up for this shit. Why was she torturing herself?
“Wanna hang out?” she asked.
He raised an eyebrow. “With you?”
“Well, you don’t have to make it sound like an insult, but yeah, who the fuck else?”
Kihyun glanced from the couch, back to her, and pursed his lips. “Uh, I guess.”
“What a confidence booster,” Shay replied as she grabbed a beer from her side of the fridge. “You want one?”
“I’m not a beer drinker.”
Guess that explained why he hadn’t bothered to label every can.
“I figured you for one of those fancy wine guys,” she said as she climbed over the back of the couch to get to her seat.
He let out a little sigh. “Are you really that lazy that you won’t just walk around to sit?”
How had she never noticed that cute little lisp of his?
She shrugged. “Yes, but this isn’t lazy; it’s ingenious. Shortest distance between two points or some shit.”
Kihyun shuffled over in his bare feet, and it occurred to her that it was the first time she’d seen him in shorts, let alone a t-shirt—he was almost always in a dress shirt and slacks because he was almost always at work. His legs were thin but toned, and Shay was insanely jealous of how smooth they were.
He sat as far away as possible on the couch, legs crossed, before he tipped his tumbler back for a long swig of water. It appeared Shay wasn’t the only one who was thirsty here.
Bitch, get a hold of yourself, she hissed in her head.
“I’m not a wine drinker either,” he added as he wiped his mouth, which was something that, frankly, should have been illegal.
“I take it you don’t drink then.”
“Whiskey.”
Shay stared at him skeptically. “You drink whiskey?”
“Not often and never enough to lose control,” he replied as his hand raked back those long locks from his face, “but if I’m going to drink, it’s what I like.”
“Yeah, control’s a pretty big thing for you,” she muttered under her breath as she glanced out the window.
“What was that?” His tone was sharp, and it made Shay’s blood race.
“Nothing,” she sang. “So, do you want to play a game or something to pass the time until the power comes back?”
Kihyun stood up as he said, “I think I’m going to—”
“Oh, come on,” she blurted far too desperately. “When’s the last time you had any kind of fun? What’s one stupid game between roommates?”
“I don’t play games,” he replied matter-of-factly.
“No, I know you don’t, unless you call counting carrots a game.”
He narrowed his eyes.
“I’m teasing,” she said with a laugh. “Come on, I’m insanely bored. Aren’t you?”
Kihyun shook his head. “There’s always something to do.”
“Well, yeah, but wouldn’t you rather do something that isn’t a chore?”
“Not really.”
Shay let out a frustrated sigh. “Okay, fine, then roommate-to-roommate, can you please just humor me once? I’m really fucking lonely, all right?”
Well, damnit. That was more than she had wanted to share with the man, but there it was, naked truth and all, still ringing up in the high ceilings. Shay swiveled toward the windows so at least her back was to him and he couldn’t see how red her face was.
“What did you want to play?”
She felt the couch dip as his words hit her ears just right.
“Let me go see what I have,” she mumbled as she headed back to her bedroom and dug around. She was back a few moments later with a sheepish grin. “Okay, so I don’t know how it’s possible that I don’t have a goddamn deck of cards or even a single ping pong ball, but this is what I got.”
She thumped a box on the table and savored how his eyes widened.
“Battleship? What are you, eight?”
“Shut up, I bought it for my nephew who didn’t get a birthday party this year, dick. I’ll buy him an xBox game or something. He won’t care.”
“I don’t want to play Battleship,” Kihyun said.
“Well, neither do I, so let’s give it some stakes.”
His eyebrow raised at this. “Loser pays all of next month’s rent?”
“Dude, yuck. You know my unemployment’s about to run out. Besides, that’s zero fun. What about…” Shay tipped her head back as she tested the waters. At this point, she had already embarrassed herself thoroughly and all her metaphorical cards were already on the table anyway, so she ventured, “Say, Strip Battleship? Every time you sink a battleship, you lose an article of clothing.”
“No,” Kihyun said without hesitation.
“Oh, come on. Afraid I’ll finally find that stick up your ass?”
“Don’t be dramatic.”
“I’m not dramatic. I’m adventurous and bored as fuck. Think about this: even the loser’s a winner. It’s hot as balls in here. Would be a great excuse to cool off...”
He glowered at her, as though he had heard everything she’d been doing just a little bit ago. “Why are you trying so hard to see me naked?”
The question hung in the heavy silence. That was not what she was trying to do, was it? Sure, Kihyun was objectively hot, and, yeah, it was a short walk to his bed, but despite the eight months they’d spent together, they didn’t know each other at all, and, up until this stupid porno she’d watched earlier, it really hadn’t occurred to her before.
Shay idly spun the box with a finger just to give herself something to look at other than Kihyun’s pretty face. “That is not it. I’m just trying to kill some boredom here. Are you really going to tell me regular old Battleship is going to entertain us otherwise?”
“Of course not—”
“No, of course not, see? And wouldn’t the potential of being totally naked be objectively more exciting?”
“Objectively, but—”
“Well, unless you can suggest something fun that doesn’t involve finances, I say we play. It’s not going farther than a little humiliation between roommates. Besides, we never see each other anyway, so who cares?”
“You’re quick with the excuses, aren’t you?” he said with something that looked dangerously close to a smirk.
Shay frowned despite how fucking adorable he looked. She didn’t appreciate him needling at her motives. Was it her fault she’d been knuckle-deep in an almost-release when the power cut out? Her body was still thrumming, and the heat and his sexy throat were only making it worse. At least if she got a peek at the goods, her brain wouldn’t have to romanticize something that wasn’t there.
Yeah, and what if it lives up to the imagination, girl? Ever consider that?
Shay kicked her libido in the face and unpacked the game.
“Fine, let’s just play normally. Just know I’m determined to destroy you anyway. Prepare for humiliation, Ki,” she said, helping herself to a nickname because an uptight guy like him needed one.
He cleared his throat, and when she glanced up from her board, she noticed his eyes were a notch darker, though that could have been the afternoon sun dipping behind the brownstones.
Even if they didn’t know each other well, Shay had a sense of Kihyun’s meticulous character, so she tried to pick the most illogical pattern she could. She clustered a number of her ships together, leaving oceans of open water to lure him away. When she was finished, she glared at him over the rim of her glasses and challenged, “Let me know when you’re ready for your whooping.”
He said nothing though his furrowed eyebrows spoke volumes. He opened his gameboard, too, and laid out his fleet in silence.
When he was done, she asked, “You know how to play, right?”
“Red pegs are for direct hits, white pegs are misses. Speaking of,” he dug into the little tray of pegs and scooped up a handful. “I think you gave me too many.”
He dropped them before she could catch them all, and they scattered all over her board and the cushion.
“Geez, you could have waited,” she griped.
“Sorry,” he replied, but he didn’t mean it.
The game was on.
Shay sneered at him as she said, “After that little stunt, I should make you go second.”
Kihyun smiled. “But you’re not going to.”
“It’s conditional. You’ve gotta talk with me in between strikes.”
“Fair enough.”
She bit her lip to hide her smile before she gave him the go-ahead nod.
“H1,” he said without hesitation.
“Damnit!” she wailed. “Are you fucking kidding me? Your first move? Ugh, that’s a hit.”
They marked their boards as Shay strategized. She tried to get into Kihyun’s head, but she couldn’t make it past those black vortexes in his eyes. He was studying her right back. She had to derail his momentum fast.
“So, what do you do when you’re not here?” she asked. “A6, by the way.”
Kihyun smiled and shook his head, and she sighed at her miss. His thumb pinched his bottom lip as he considered his next attack, and he said, “I catalog and review real estate leases for an acquisitions company. You?”
“That sounds awful.”
“I like the repetition,” he replied.
“Makes sense. And me? I don’t do anything now,” she lamented, “but when our company was open, I was a production assistant for local musicians. No gigs to book these days.”
Kihyun hummed, but she couldn’t tell if he was interested or just strategizing. After a moment, he said, “H2.”
Her heart sank with her littlest ship.
“You sunk my ship, you dick.” Shay thought he’d laugh or at least celebrate, but instead he stared at her—and not in the usual way he had been, alternating between inquisitive and confused, but dark and commanding. Her voice was gummy in her throat as she managed, “What?”
“You wanted to play Strip Battleship.”
Despite the heat in the room, her skin iced over. “Yeah, but you didn’t!”
“I changed my mind.”
Panic set in. Sure, this was her idea, but when she’d imagined it, she’d pictured him first to lose a shirt. She had four ships still floating but only three items of clothing left after this.
Kihyun smirked again, and now her cheeks warmed. As if he could read her mind, he said, “You can start with the ponytail. We’ll get to the rest soon enough.”
Shay swallowed hard, both at his confidence as well as the instruction. She pulled out the ponytail holder as her long brown tresses spilled down her back. In an instant, the temperature rose about a hundred degrees.
She did her best over the next few plays to land a single hit, but while she was learning more and more about Kihyun’s regimented life, she was also losing ships by the second. He’d figured out her strategy almost immediately, and now she was two ships and a shirt down with a third already primed with two of its three slots full.
“What do you do for fun?” she asked as she gnawed on her thumbnail.
“I clean and organize—”
“I said fun, Ki, not more work.”
“That is fun for me, but if you don’t accept that, how about cooking? I like doing that.”
“I never see you cook,” she said skeptically.
He shrugged. “You never leave your room.”
Shay blinked. He said it as though it bothered him. She wondered if she had left, if he’d have cooked for her, but then she thought about it, and he’d probably have charged her for the meal anyway.
Her eyes drifted back down to her game board as she mumbled, “Figured I’d get in your way. B9.”
“That’s your first hit,” Kihyun said, though there wasn’t an ounce of concern in his voice. And why should there be when she was about to lose yet another precious article of clothing. “By the way, you wouldn’t. Be in my way, I mean. You pay for half of this place, too, and I wouldn’t live with you if I didn’t like you.”
“You like me?”
Why the hell did she sound like a middle schooler talking to her crush? Jesus, she was lonelier than she thought.
Kihyun’s only answer was a “D3.”
Shay exhaled dramatically. “What’ll it be?”
“Lose the shorts.”
It shouldn’t have felt so risqué considering she was still essentially in a bikini, but the act of shimmying her tight yoga shorts over her hips and down her thighs made her feel totally naked. Well, that and the way Kihyun watched her do it. She swallowed hard.
Desperate to even things out, Shay fired off three more shots—all misses—until she finally landed a hit, and in the meantime, her fourth ship was sinking.
“A9,” she said, giddy.
“Your first victory,” he said with a smile that made his strong cheeks even more pronounced. “Congratulations.”
Shay rubbed her hands together, but before she could demand his shirt, Kihyun eased out his diamond studs she hadn’t even noticed he’d had in.
“Hey, no! No, no, no! You’re losing the shirt, buddy,” she protested, but he shook his head.
“I have more ships than I have clothes, and I let you take out your ponytail first.”
“Damnit,” she hissed. “I did not think this game through.”
“You did not,” he said with a light chuckle, “but I’m having fun.”
Shay rolled her eyes. “I’m sure you are.”
“C6.”
“Oh, Holy Mary, mother of God, fuck!” she cried.
Kihyun didn’t bother to hide his delight or his eagerness as his eyes flickered to her red bra. She wrinkled her freckled nose at him before she turned around and undid the clasp. She used her left arm as a basket for her ample chest, and when she felt as secure as she could, she turned back around and hunkered down behind her board.
“I think that should count as clothing,” he joked, motioning toward her makeshift arm-bra.
“Piss off, Yoo,” she griped as she planned her next strike.
She kept her head low and her eyes distracted as she continued through the motions, but she should have known it was inevitable. Within two more moves, he’d hit her biggest ship, and she was still firing blanks. Wow, 2020 really fucking hated her. Kihyun was so dead-on, it was unnerving. Excepting her obvious state of undress, Shay felt very exposed, and she hugged her chest tighter.
With a light throat clear, she said, “Probably should have asked this in the beginning, but you got a girlfriend?”
“No, not for a long time. Apparently, I’m difficult to live with. G5.”
Shay snorted as she put the third peg in her ship. “You? Nah. So… how do you blow off steam? B3.”
“Hit.”
Too little, too late for her.
It took him a moment to catch the meaning of her question, but when he did, Kihyun’s eyes widened. “Oh, well, some people have friends with benefits. I have acquaintances with arrangements.”
She raised an eyebrow. “That’s a new one.”
“We don’t talk or hang out. There are no expectations beyond the obvious, so there are no misunderstandings. Purely functional. G6.”
Shay should have expected such a matter-of-fact answer from him, but something about it depressed her. At least with friends, there was something more personal than the brief act of sex. Even a good one-night stand had passion and electricity. She frowned.
“You make sex sound like a library, except instead of checking out a book, you’re checking out a partner.”
“It’s nothing like that,” he retorted, although she could tell from the way his eyes flickered that he was thinking about it now. “What would you know about it anyway? You’re not in a relationship either.”
“How do you know?” she barked.
Kihyun turned around and glanced to their door surveillance system. “It’s always a different guy.”
It wasn’t an accusation, just an honest observation, but it did remind Shay of her lingering single status since she’d moved in. She gaped at her roommate and rolled her eyes. “Nosy asshole. And anyway, I’m just saying that sex is better when you’ve got a connection, not something you’re checking off a checklist.”
Kihyun tilted his head to catch the buttery glow of the evening sun in just the right way to bring out every hint of smugness. “Just for that, G7.”
Shay threw her head back and whimpered as she slipped the final peg into the final ship.
The corner of his mouth twitched. “Go ahead, say it.”
“You sunk my battleship,” she mumbled.
Kihyun closed his gameboard and folded his hands in his lap as he waited for her.
Shay struggled to figure out a way to remove her underwear without waggling all the goods in her roommate’s face, and she settled on a sideways stance and a one-handed shimmy that offered only an outline of her tits and ass.
“You know,” she pouted as she shuffled her other hand in front of her core, “you won that game suspiciously quickly.”
“It’s easy when I can see the reflection of your board in your glasses.”
Shay had a sudden flashback to those hastily dropped pegs at the beginning of the game, and she saw the true breadth of Kihyun’s devious nature. She thought about punching him, but that meant removing one of her protective hands.
“Cheater!” she bellowed into their living room.
He shrugged as he appraised the full swells of her hourglass. “Doesn’t matter. All that they’ll see when they look back on this day in the history books is that I won.”
“What a Machiavellian thing to say. You’re evil.”
“And fully clothed.”
Shay huffed and reached for her tank top, but Kihyun stilled her wrist with a strong grip. Her throat went dry. Her breasts were still safely cradled in her arm, but she’d had to sacrifice one hand, and now her naked pussy was on full display.
But Kihyun, to his credit, wasn’t ogling her body. He was staring into her eyes, and in so many ways, it was worse. His gaze was piercing, and Shay felt the irrational urge to kneel before him.
“I didn’t say you could get dressed yet.”
It wasn’t just an urge to kneel now—she thought her legs would give out under the weight of his smoky voice. He released her wrist and she stumbled back. “Kihyun, what—”
“Weren’t you the one complaining about the temperature in here? Leave them off.”
Nakedness aside, Shay had a much, much bigger problem now, and if she wasn’t careful, it would ruin the couch.
“It’s cooler this way, isn’t it?” he continued, a ribbon of silk under all that smoke in his voice.
She shrugged timidly and focused all her attention on finding a spot as far away from him as possible.
He shook his head. “You can’t sit naked on my couch.”
“Are you kidding me right now?” she shouted, cheeks blazing crimson as she wondered if he could see her leaking sex.
Kihyun just smiled. “You can sit on my lap though.”
At first, she thought that maybe she hadn’t heard him right, but he uncrossed his legs, his shorts rising just a bit higher, and patted his bare thighs.
“I should go,” she said slowly though she found her feet striding to him instead of her bedroom door.
“Why? I thought you wanted to hang out?”
Shay nodded numbly, lost somewhere between shock and a lust so overwhelming, it was disorienting. She sat side-saddle in his lap so she could keep her knees pressed together despite how urgently they begged to be parted. Her ass fell naturally into the crease between his thighs as her hands tightened around her chest and waist.
“Let’s just relax,” he said as he moved both of her hands to the sides of her thighs, baring all of her to the evening honey pouring through the windows. “Isn’t that more comfortable?”
“I guess.”
The tips of his fingers ghosted down her back while the top of his thumb traced her rigid spine. Goosebumps peppered along her whole body and her nipples tightened. Kihyun marveled at them. “Maybe you are cold after all. If you want, I can warm you up.”
Her breath came out much shakier than she’d hoped as she managed, “Okay.”
He flattened his whole searing hand along her back to smooth away the goosebumps, and Shay sucked in a sharp breath. His palms worked from her shoulders down to the swell of her ass and then around her rib cage to graze the sides of her breasts, growing bolder with every sweep.
“You smell good,” he murmured.
The only way to maintain some composure—and, with it, some of her dignity—was to keep her eyes firmly on the brownstones across the street. “I just took a shower.”
“That’s not what I’m talking about.”
And just like that, the last of her dignity went flying out the window.
Kihyun grabbed her stiff shoulders and pressed them down to release them. “I said relax, Shay. Here, let me help.”
He placed one of his hands on her mid-thigh, not curling around it, just resting warm and comforting like a blanket.
“You feeling warmer now?” he asked.
Warm wasn’t the word. Incinerated was.
“Yes.”
He inched his hand a little higher. “And now?”
“Warmer.”
His thumb bumped her mound, but still his hand rested innocently enough. “What about this, Shay? Does it make you hot?”
“Yes,” she said, but it came out more like a hiss.
“My thighs are getting soaked,” he observed. “Why would that be, Shay?”
Christ, the way he said her name was like a teacher scolding a student. She felt filthy in the most illicit way, and another rush of warmth raced to her sex.
“I would like an answer,” he said, and she shivered.
“Your hands—they feel really good.”
“Oh, so it’s my fault?” he said sharply, though now that innocent hand on her thigh was anything but. He stroked her folds as he massaged her leg, and with every stroke, more humiliating slick seeped out until his fingers were as glossy as her lower lips. Kihyun hummed. “I can be very nice to you, Shay, but you have to be nice to me.”
“Please be nice,” she whimpered, her body hunching over at his relentless teasing. But the hand on her back was now on her shoulder, keeping her posture nice and tall and her breasts high and perky.
“It wasn’t nice when you teased me about the carrots,” he said evenly, his fingers still sliding smoothly up and down her wet seam. “It wasn’t nice when you kept these pretty tits away from me after I earned them. Seems to me you weren’t very nice to me after all. I don’t think I need to be nice to you either.”
His hand disappeared from between her legs, and she glanced murderously at him.
“Shay.” She could hear the warning in his voice clear as glass. “I think it’s time for you to get on your knees.”
Desire rocketed through her. She couldn’t remember ever being so turned on. Usually, she was the one in charge, mostly because she had to be; otherwise, the guys she fucked around with would use her for their own end and leave her unsatisfied. Even then, Shay wasn’t a submissive person by nature, but in Kihyun’s hands, it came so naturally. There was an intense sensuality to his orders—each one a promise of pleasure for both her mind and her body. There wasn’t a single part of her that wasn’t stimulated by his voice.
Trembling, Shay slid off his lap and onto the floor in front of him. He looked down the bridge of his nose and straight to her heart. She sat on her heels, her hands in her lap, and stared right back.
“You make a lot of messes around this house. It’s time you start cleaning them up.”
His gaze slid to the slick puddles on the top of his thigh, and he spread his legs for her.
“Are—are you serious?” she asked.
“It’s not nice to question me,” he reminded, and a new river of wetness slipped down the inside of her thigh.
Shay inched between his parted knees and looked up. Kihyun didn’t move a muscle, yet his eyes were as firm as a spanking. She looked over to his glossy thigh and opened her mouth. She sucked gently, laving her tongue over his skin and tasting her own stickiness. It was shameful and humiliating and really, really fucking hot.
Kihyun didn’t make a sound.
After another minute, he said, “That’s good enough.”
Shay sat up and glanced at the bright red oval on his thigh that would no doubt bruise in the coming days. She thought about Kihyun walking around his room with her brand on him, picturing her mouth there again, so close to his cock. Maybe he’d touch himself.
The thought of a man with this much control stroking his own dick to the memory of her made her dizzy. She studied him as he leaned back on the sofa like a lord on his throne and ventured, “Did I do a good job?”
Kihyun’s eyes hardened, and she worried she’d done something wrong. Maybe he’d take himself away from her and they’d go back to being symbiotic strangers again. Just the thought paralyzed her. But to her relief, he said, “You’ve made another mess, Shay. Take care of it.”
He pulled down the lip of his shorts, and even in the lengthening shadows, his cock bounced out, rigid and leaking. She went to remove her glasses so they wouldn’t get in the way, but Kihyun grabbed her wrist.
“No,” he said, “leave them on. They’re cute.”
Shay didn’t need to be told twice. She pushed them up the bridge of her nose as she pressed her breasts against his thighs and slid his shirt up over his taut stomach. She couldn’t help it; she bit her lip, and for the first time, she heard Kihyun grunt.
Emboldened by his reaction, she wrapped her hand around the base of his cock and pumped his length. His skin was so hot, and the strength of his hard-on fed her vanity. She wanted to please him, so without another thought, she took him in her mouth.
Kihyun brushed her long tresses from her face and over her shoulder so her lewd act was on full display for him. She savored the tip of him first, lapping up the precum before she could get in trouble for not following another order.
He was salty and smooth, and surprisingly, he tasted really good. Shay had never particularly enjoyed giving head, but there was something about Kihyun that made her hungry for him. He watched her intently, as though he was going to grade her performance after, yet there was a softness to the edge of those espresso eyes as though he couldn’t believe she was going along with his instruction.
“Take me deeper, Shay. I know you can.”
Immediately, she opened wider and let him farther into her mouth. Her sucking grew louder and messier as she worked his base with her hand in time with her mouth.
“Just like that,” he said dreamily. He ran his fingers back through her hair, and she hummed into his gentle touch. She hadn’t expected it, but it made her skin prickle. Softer now, he said, “That’s a nice girl.”
Shay whimpered as her lips tightened reflexively around his shaft. Kihyun laughed. “It’s easy to be a nice girl when that nasty mouth is stuffed full of cock, isn’t it?”
This time, her cunt tightened along with her knees. Her thighs were so sticky, it was embarrassing. She thought about running into the bathroom to clean herself up, but she knew she’d get in trouble for that, too. Nice girls didn’t leave their roommate’s poor hard cock hanging unloved.
How was he sinking into her brain so fast? This was insane. It was like he’d hypnotized her with that soothing voice of his. She could have blamed it on her loneliness or her sexual frustration, but Shay knew it was neither of those things. She needed Kihyun’s approval—she craved it. She wanted him to stay with her.
“All right, Shay, that’s enough.”
She released him and sat back as she looked from his wet, red cock to his firm, brown eyes. “Did I do okay?”
“With a wicked mouth like yours, I knew you’d be great at sucking cock.”
He didn’t say anything further, and Shay figured if she wanted some relief from this unbearable ache she’d have to take over after all. She stood up and moved to straddle his lap, but Kihyun cupped her soaking sex full on and shook his head, his eyes black as the oncoming night.
“You don’t get to set the rhythm,” he warned.
Shay let out a frustrated breath. “I need you, Ki.”
He pressed his lips together as though he were struggling with something, but all he said was, “I know.”
She was frantic and pissed off and so fucking needy for a good dicking down, and all he wanted to do was torture her. She rubbed her pussy into his hand as her head kicked back from the sumptuous friction. “Can’t you please just put that big dick into my tight pussy and fuck me raw already?”
In one swift motion, Kihyun pinched her clit, sending her pitching forward onto his shoulder. He placed his mouth next to her ear and said, “You’re not in charge here. I earned you, so I’ll do what I want with you. You don’t get to ride me.”
“You’re lucky I’m lazy anyway,” she grumbled, and he scowled.
“Yeah, I’ve been meaning to address that. You need some discipline, Shay. I don’t want to hear from you unless you don’t like something, understood?”
“Yes,” she backpedaled instantly.
Still, Kihyun smacked her breast so hard, the sound reverberated off the exposed beams overhead, and a scarlet handprint appeared immediately on her tan flesh. “What did I just say? I’m tired of your backtalk. You are not to make a sound, even when I’m fucking you hard. If you can’t handle that, you can go to your room alone. Now, I’ll say it again: do you understand?”
Shay nodded, a prick of a tear in the corner of her eye as her chest throbbed along with her pussy. The mark on her chest stung, but not as much as the fear of not getting fucked.
She caught a hint of a smile, maybe relief that he hadn’t gone too far or maybe it was joy at finding someone who accepted this side of him; whatever it was, it was hot.
Kihyun released her sex and traded it for her wrist, and just as he did, the power kicked back on. The room flooded with light and beeps as the appliances whirred back to life. She stood there spotlighted in the nude, and he relished a long examination of her peachy nipples and well-trimmed pussy. He hummed.
A moment later, and he was dragging her back to her room, and for a split second, Shay panicked. She’d been a good girl, right? She hadn’t made a sound! Had he changed his mind now that the power was back on and he could go back to his business? She tugged on his arm and gaped at him, eyes wide with anxiety, but he smiled again, this one definitely amused.
“Aw, is my little pet worried I’m going to leave her un-fucked?”
Shay nodded furiously, and he traced the line of her jaw.
“Why would I do that? I’ve got such a nice girl here, don’t I? Nice girls get special privileges. Nice girls get to cum.” She looked at him with such relief that he laughed. He pulled her into her room and let go. “On the bed, nice girl. Hands and knees.”
Shay complied instantly. She waited on all fours, ass out and eager, but Kihyun didn’t join her. When she glanced back, she found him staring at her computer. The monitor was still on, and now that the Wi-Fi had rebooted, her porn video had refreshed. It was paused, but that didn’t matter. The video title was in big, bold letters, and he gravitated right to it.
“‘My Roommate Fucks Me After I Beg Him for Help,’” he read in his smoothest voice. He clucked his tongue. “And here I was, thinking you were such a nice, innocent girl when all along you just wanted me to put my dick in you. That’s a naughty girl, Shay. You’ve been very selfish, keeping your beautiful body from me for so long. That’s not very fair, is it?”
She shook her head.
Kihyun spanked her ass with the same ferocity he had her tit, but it was even louder in her cramped bedroom.
“And this room is filthy. Nice girls put their things away so when I come to fuck them, I don’t have to scold them for being lazy.”
He spanked her again, four more times on the same cheek. Each blow was like fireworks along her skin, sending tingles down her leg and to her core. Shay swallowed every cry because she had to and because, despite the pain, she hadn’t felt so alive in months. Every minute that ticked by became more unbearable, and her orders to keep silent were becoming increasingly difficult to follow.
She glanced over her shoulder and found Kihyun standing there in the corner of the room, just staring at her glistening, inflamed cunt and her reddening ass. Through the loose fabric of his basketball shorts, she could see how vicious his hard-on was, but the man had the self-control of a god.
Shay was on the verge of tears when, finally, he approached the side of the bed. Instead of climbing on and fucking her, as she expected, he came over to her face, tilted her chin toward him, and kissed her.
He was surprisingly gentle, placing soft kisses over her lips just to see if she would kiss him back, and something about it made her want to cry all over again. Gradually, his kisses grew more passionate, and his tongue quested for hers. It was electric, more than all the other teasing and scolding, like a light turning on inside her that had once been burnt out. She forgot she was naked in the middle of a well-lit room. She forgot the pain on her rear and her chest. There was only Kihyun and his kiss. This time, a tear did slip from her eyes.
Finally, he pulled back, and his gaze skirted to that traitorous droplet. He wiped it with his thumb and said, “You’re a good girl, Shay.”
With that, he undressed, and she could finally appreciate how handsome his form was. He was lean and wiry, with an attractive tone to his stomach. He wasn’t muscled like some of the guys she’d messed around with, and his knees were gangly, but he was so beautiful—the perfect combination of all the best things.
“I want to fuck you now,” he said.
She nodded, every nerve ending firing at just the promise of his touch.
Kihyun climbed onto the bed behind her and slid one finger into her pussy. Shay winched her eyes shut and bit her lip, nearly breaking the skin, before a moan could escape. He dragged the pad of his finger down the front of her walls slowly, as if he were mapping her from the inside out. She trembled and gripped the sheets as tightly as she could.
“No one has ever responded to me the way you do,” he murmured as he withdrew his finger. As if to prove his point, he swirled it around her swollen clit and sent her pitching forward into her pillow. She couldn’t hold back her whimper, but either the pillow swallowed the sound or Kihyun took pity on her because he kept going until she was a shuddering mess.
Just before the knot inside her frayed, however, he stopped. He placed one hand over the rosy print on her ass, and she winced, expecting another spank, but instead, he rubbed it slowly. The tenderness was as erotic as his orders were, and she pushed back into it. The tip of his cock bobbed against her dripping folds, and Kihyun let out a slow sigh.
“Back on your hands, Shay,” he reminded, and she reluctantly left the safety of her pillow.
The head of his member roved up and down her slippery seam and slapped against her clit a few times for good measure. She held back her needy mewl just in time, but it was killing her. She didn’t think she’d ever been this quiet in her whole life—she’d been kicked out of libraries before, for fuck’s sake—and now she was being asked to hold back just how good he was making her feel? It was too cruel.
At last, he centered himself at her entrance and pushed in.
It was sinful and sweet, like a stolen chocolate-covered cherry during a month-long fast. Nothing had ever been more delectable. Behind her, even her disciplined roommate was succumbing to their connection. He let out a little hum that ended in a forceful grunt, and all Shay wanted to do was kiss him again.
But there was no time for that. Kihyun delved deeper into her, inch by inch, until he reached his hilt. He waited there, letting her cunt squeeze him as it adjusted to his size.
Thanks to the pandemic, Shay hadn’t been fucked in months, so maybe she was being dramatic, but no one had ever filled her up better. Even the bigger dicks she’d experienced hadn’t stimulated her like Kihyun’s did. She was ravenous for him.
Slowly, he pulled out and then, just as slowly, pushed back in, long, smooth motions that threatened to tear whines and begging from her lips. He didn’t begrudge her the soft panting she made, but maybe that was because he was making the same sounds, too, or it was simply too hard to hear over the squelch of her drenched cunt.
As Kihyun picked up speed, the room became a blur. Shay tried to focus on anything to distract her from how good it felt when he stretched her wide, but no amount of lip-biting could dam the moans swelling in her chest. Her elbows gave out, and she fell into her pillow and strangled out a tiny cry.
He took her more ferociously now, quick and deep and perfectly smooth because there was no part of himself that he didn’t control. The friction ignited a fuse in her walls that was quickly burning up.
“Don’t cum,” Kihyun warned. “It’s not your turn.”
But how could she hold back a freight train of pent-up frustration just ready to spill? Shay wedged her eyes shut and bit into her forearm, but it wasn’t enough. She couldn’t hold it.
Kihyun pulled out and it took every last atom within her not to scream.
“I said it’s not your turn,” he snapped. “On your back.”
Shay rolled over and spread her legs, and he settled between them immediately. He brought his cock back to her cunt, but instead of watching himself slide back in, he caught her gaze. With a firm thrust of his hips, he drove inside her.
This angle gave Kihyun all the ammunition for his continued torture that he could possibly want. One sinister hand grabbed a handful of her tit while the other rubbed her flushed clit. In a matter of moments, she was on the verge of release again, but still he grunted, “Don’t you dare cum.”
Shay shook her head violently and grabbed at his wrist, but he shook her off.
“This pretty pussy has to wait.”
He spread her legs as wide as they could go as he gnawed on his lip. Fuck, he was gorgeous.
“So wet, so wet,” he murmured. “God, I wish I could—”
But he cut himself off and pulled out, and with a cry more desperate than she would have ever expected from a man like him, Kihyun shot his load all over her little landing strip of hair. Pearls of ivory splattered against her belly and all over her mound as he pumped through his release with little grunts of ecstasy.
His panting slowed as his eyelids drifted shut, and after a moment, he climbed up beside her face.
Breathy and tired, he said, “Clean me up.”
Shay opened her mouth, and he slid in immediately, letting her suck him clean of all her mess as well as his. He gasped as she sucked the head of his sensitive cock and scolded her to go easier. When he was satisfied with her work, he backed off, and with eyes still black as coal, he added, “Now, clean yourself up.”
He placed her fingertips over the milky white mess between her legs and guided one of her fingers through it before he led the glistening bead back to her lips.
“Do a good job, and you get to cum.”
Her shock faded away as eagerness replaced it. Her pussy was throbbing and her limbs were tired from the perpetual haze of near release, and the only thing that mattered right now was his promise. She swept her hands through his spilt seed and fed it all to herself. Dignity was a thing for bad girls anyway.
Beside her, Kihyun smiled. “You’re special, Shay.”
She grinned around her sticky fingertips before she finished sucking them clean, and then she presented her hands for his inspection.
“What a nice girl. Now, let me make my nice girl feel as nice as she made me feel.”
Kihyun laid down beside her, his sweaty body pressing against hers. His hand settled between her legs as his mouth settled over hers. He kissed her again, his tongue seeking entrance immediately this time. He could taste himself on her tongue mixed with her essence, and he sighed.
While he kissed her fervently, his middle finger slid between her pussy lips and drenched itself in her honey. A moment later, it was joined by a second finger, which slid in just as easily. His fingers were so much longer than hers, and they could reach much deeper into her. They curled up into her wall, beckoning her release forward for the final time.
He broke their kiss to slide down her body and watch as his other hand worked her clit in time with his finger fucks. He studied each circle his fingers made to target the special spot on her clit made her thighs tremble, and when he found it, he worked it again and again.
“I want to watch you cum, baby. Show me how sexy you look unleashing all over my fingers. Nice girls show their lovers.”
Kihyun’s words were all it took to send her catapulting into ecstasy. She squirmed and bucked into his grasp as his fingers fucked her through her release. Stars danced behind her eyes as a long moan of his name tumbled forth, unable to be held back any longer.
“Wow,” he whispered, entranced by her shivering pink heat and the sound of his name still ringing in his ears. “Beautiful.”
Shay collapsed onto her bed, not an ounce of strength left in her. Most of her orgasms were faked just to end lackluster sex, but this one was still traveling through her body, sending little spasms through her belly and down into her toes.
Kihyun hummed, that small smirk on his face. “I made this mess, so I’ll clean it up.”
In a flash, his fingers were in his mouth, each digit meticulously sucked clean, before he slipped his head between her thighs and rolled his broad tongue over her folds with the same precision. Despite her mewls and jerks, he held her fast and licked her until he was sure she was clean.
When he was done, he slid beside her and draped an arm over her stomach. With an astonished laugh, he said, “You can speak now.”
“Holy fucking hell, finally,” she blurted, and they both smiled. “Fuck, that was insanely good, Ki. We could have been doing this the whole time? Fuck. Why didn’t you ever knock on my door?”
She expected a quick barb or some other wit, but instead, only the white noise of the window unit answered. She turned toward him. His brown hair had fallen into his eyes as his chin rested on her shoulder.
“You live a lot more than I do,” he replied quietly. “It’s… intimidating. You’re intimidating.”
Shay laughed. “I’m intimidating? After all that shit you just pulled?”
But Kihyun was dead serious, his hand tracing her throat as his voice softened even further. “You’re not afraid of the world or being a part of it. I’m not comfortable unless I’m controlling it, so I keep to my corner.”
Shay brushed his hair back and smiled. “Well, you can come to mine whenever you want. I’ll show you around. Maybe you’ll like what’s out there, and if you don’t, you can bring me back to your corner, and I’ll let you boss me around for a bit—within reason. But you should know, I don’t want to be one of those books you check out when you feel like it.”
Kihyun considered her words before he answered, “I thought you liked that. With those other guys—”
“Not with you, okay?”
His hand curled around her waist and squeezed lightly. “Okay.”
Shay’s heart buoyed, and suddenly, the prospect of another few months of lockdown didn’t seem quite so daunting.
“But before we do this again,” he said warily, “we’re cleaning your room.”
“We?”
“I—well, yeah.” Those high apple cheeks were polished bright pink, and they were so cute, she let out a hum.
“Ki?”
“What?”
“You can sleep in here tonight if you want.”
He sat up on one elbow and looked down at her. “Is that what you want?”
“I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t, you dope.”
He held her for a minute, his eyes closed as well as hers, and then suddenly, he blurted, “How about my bed instead? I think we need to wash your sheets.”
“Fine, your bed,” she groaned.
“But shower first.”
“Oh my god, you’re so demanding.” A flash of a pout danced across his features, and Shay waved it off. “I’m just teasing, Ki.”
He stood up and offered his hand to her, but as soon as she took it, he tugged her naked body to his, and she could feel his fresh hardness against her hip.
“You know what happens to girls who tease me.”

Prompt: 4. “Well, pull up an ice block and lend an ear” [Parent/Grandparent/Family Friend au]
------
Holiday dinners with friends is one of your favorite types of get-togethers; getting to catch up with all your friends, share traditions, and eat? You couldn’t think of a better way to spend the holiday, but every year there is a new person. Or rather a child, to get a present for and meet. You never thought you would get to the age where your friends had kids of their own. It was a strange feeling to go through because moments ago, you were a kid, and now you’re the adult that kids look forward to seeing during the holidays. You guys were still in your youth, but now you were watching other kids grow up too.
The two of you arrive at Hyunwoo’s house with your two platters of cookies for everyone to devour. “You get the thumbprint cookies, and I’ll get the chocolate cookies?” Jooheon asks as you get out of the car. You nod, grab the tray of thumbprint cookies, and follow him to the door. He rings the doorbell, and Kihyun lets you in, sporting the newest edition of the Yoo family. “I see you have your arms full.” You say as you walk in, “So do you!” You laugh and ask, “Well, what’s their name?” He grins and goes, “Her name is Ember!” Which causes her to reach up towards him, and he holds his finger out to hold. He follows you into the kitchen, and you place down your cookies. You smile and cheer, “Well, hello there, little Ember!” Before turning to him again, “Smoldering coal?” He nods, “Yeah, and also sounds beautiful too.” You agree, “You have me there.” Before parting from Kihyun and her, she holds her hand out to you, which you gently shake, which causes her to giggle. And you make your way further into the house, just to be attacked by six kids coming up and wrapping themselves around you.
“Oh, you little snowballs!” They all giggle, and you try your best to hug each one of them, “Alright, did you already attack Honey?” They all eagerly nod, and you see Jooheon just out of reach, “He sent you, didn’t he?” They all nod, and you shake your head and laugh. “Well, did he tell you we brought some cookies?” They all gasp, and you show them the way. They get two each out of the pans, and Kihyun says, “You’re going to ruin your dinner!” From further away and you whisper, “He’s had one already. He can’t say anything. Feast my darlings!” They all snicker, and you stick your tongue out towards Kihyun before finding Jooheon again.
You lean your head on his shoulder, “I missed you.” He laughs, “We were apart for ten minutes.” You laugh, “I know.” He kisses your head and whispers, “Me too.” You stay like that for another moment before parting, “I’ll see you later?” He nods, “I’ll miss you until then.” You head to the kitchen while Jooheon heads to entertain the kids.
You ask if there’s anything to be done, and they ask if you can make the table. You nod, grab the plates, and start setting up the long table. “You need help?” Hoseok asks, and you go, “Yeah, do you want to do the forks while I do the knives and spoons?” He smiles, “Sure.” You smile, grab the knives and spoons and follow him around the table. “I heard you were adopting. Did you two choose yet?” He smiles, “Not exactly, but we think we’re going to adopt a set of twins we met a few days ago.” You nod, “After the holidays?” He shakes his head affirmatively, “Yeah, that’s why we’re waiting, actually. They wanted to spend the holiday with their friends there.” You smile, “That’s sweet, so are you two excited?” He grins, “Yeah, I hope we can make their transition easy and make sure they can stay in contact with their friends. We’re going to do everything we can.” You nod, “You guys are going to make great parents.” He smiles, “Thank you.” You smile back, “It’s no problem. I’ve known you two for the past five years of my life. You both are true sweethearts, and I know you’ll raise amazing people.” He nods, “Thank you again.” You pat his head before hearing commotion in the living room.
“That’s it?!” The kids cry, and you hear laughter, “What are they crying about?” Hoseok grins, “I think Edward told the kids the story of how we met.” You shake your head, “It was a simple but sweet story.” And that’s when you start hearing them go, “Uncle Jooheon! Uncle Jooheon!” Hoseok motions for you to get going, and you wave to Edward, who finally manages to escape the kids. “They’re rallying against him!” You laugh and say, “They sure are,” before popping your head into the living room.
Jooheon spots you as the children whine, “Uncle Jooheon, please tell us how you and (Y/n) met!” Jooheon gestures for you to join him on the recliner, and you sit on the armrest. He wraps his arm around you and goes, “Well, pull up an ice block and lend an ear.” The kids look confused for a moment before grabbing a pillow and sitting in front of you two. He taps his chin, “Where should I start, the week before?” You roll your eyes, “They’ll be here until next year if you do that!” And he laughs, “That’s only a few days away, and I’m sure their parents wouldn’t mind one bit.” The kids whine as he continues talking about anything but the day he met you. He grins, “Okay, okay! I guess I’ll tell you, little snow people.”
“I was heading back home for Christmas, a week in advance. I thought that was going to save me from the storm.” He pauses, and Kihyun yells from the kitchen, “But it didn’t!” The two of you laugh and whisper to them, “But it didn’t.” He continues, “That one told me I should have taken the flight a few days earlier, just in case, as he had. But I'm glad I didn't. I think it was the best decision I ever made.” He looks up at you as he says that, and you grin and whisper to him, “I think so too.” Before you told your side, “You see I had gotten the same advice, but I decided otherwise as well.” They nodded along, “But aren't airports humongous!? How did you even meet there?” The eldest of Kihyun’s kids asks, and you agree, “Of course they are. But when your flight is no longer happening, and you’re stranded. You make friends fast, ones that help you charge your phone.” You look over at him as you say the last line, “That day, I forgot to bring my phone cord. I thought I would be fine cause it was only a few-hour flight and I didn’t need to worry. But after I finished getting through security, our flight was canceled.”
You pause so they can absorb the information, and before you can, “Then this beautiful person sits next to me. And if I had a weaker heart, I would have passed out. We didn’t speak for an hour or so. I spent that hour looking up from my phone over to them, wracking my brain for something to say, when (Y/n) went–” You interrupt with, “Do you happen to have a phone cord on you?” And Jooheon whines, “That was the best part!” You and the kids giggle before you say, “Oops, but after all, I said it in the first place!” He rolls his eyes, “I had quickly nodded and said I did. And dug it out of my bag and handed it over. Thankfully, we had the same kind of phone.” The kids nodded, “But how did that lead to anything?” The eldest asks again, and you sigh, “At first, it didn’t, considering it was just him being polite. I plugged my phone in, and that was that. We didn’t talk for a while, but I kept looking over at the handsome individual who lent me his cord.”
The kids pout at this, “That’s it!?” The two of you shake your head, “No, that was just the beginning. It would take another thirty minutes before he spoke up.” Jooheon rolls his eyes, “Okay, I was getting my courage up. You don’t come across someone that blows you away often.” The kids groan, and Jooheon laughs, “Hold on, I’m getting there! I tapped their shoulder and asked what they were listening to, and they told me it was-” “(B/n).” “Oh, I’ve never heard of them before, what's a good song by them? That’s how we started talking about music, and it evolved from there, talking about what we would be doing if we weren’t stuck here and whatnot.” Hyungwon’s son asks you, “What's 'whatnot'?” And you both nod resolutely, “Whatnot.” Hyungwon comes into the room and goes, “They just mean that they talked about everything that came to their mind at the moment.” The six, ‘oooh’ at that, and you both laugh.
Hyungwon pulls his son onto his lap and leans against the couch, “Is this the part where you two talk about sharing–” Causing the other five kids to look over at him and the both of you shoot a glare toward him, “That’s our favorite part! Don’t ruin the surprise!” The two of you whine, and the kids all excitedly look toward you two again Jooheon says, “We decided that it was more than likely that we wouldn’t be departing on a new flight until after Christmas, especially with the weather forecast.” They all nod eagerly, and you continue, “We decided to grab a cab that was luckily still picking up passengers and went to a motel to share a room.” You wait for them to go ‘ew,’ but it doesn’t come, so you both shrug and tell them, “So we ended up at a nice motel that luckily had a room for two available.” Hyungwon interjects, “I thought it was a dingy mothball motel.” Jooheon groans, “No one can have rose-colored glasses nowadays.” Hyungwon smirks, “No.” You sigh, “It was a dingy mothball motel, but it was nice for a motel. We didn’t get any bedbugs all week.” Hyunwoo’s daughter asks, “You stayed together all week?! What did your parents think?”
The three of you snicker, and the kids all share a confused glance. “My mom was happy I was safe.” You say with a smirk to Jooheon, who hides his laugh in your side, knowing that’s not what either of your parents thought when you said you were sharing a motel with a stranger for a week. “His parents were glad he was safe too.” You nudge him, and he collects himself before going, “We spent that lovely week getting to know each other.” Hyungwon laughs loudly, knowing the kids wouldn’t catch on, before Jooheon looks over at you and smirks, “We exchanged our first kiss together in that motel.” And all of the kids cry out, “Ew! Cooties!” You smirk and whisper to Jooheon, “Wait until they find out how they were made.” Which makes Jooheon chuckle before saying, “Anyways, that’s the story of how we met.”
The kids immediately find a new target, the one who was laughing at the two of you. Hyungwon. Who got pestered until he told him how he and his lover met. You sit down from the armchair and onto Jooheon’s lap and look at the ring on your finger, “It hasn’t been that long, has it?” He shakes his head, “No, not long enough.” You grin and kiss his dimpled cheek, “I love you, Honey.” He interlocks your ringed hand in his, “I love you too, Bumblebee. I hope we can be married for many more years. Maybe the kids will figure out that the meeting was just the beginning.” You grin, “We have many more stories to tell.” He nuzzles his nose against yours, and you stay like that. Luckily none of the kids were watching, or they’d be yelling about cooties. You whisper, “I’m so glad we met all those years ago.” He hums in agreement, and you two contently listen to Hyungwon’s story, even though you’ve heard it quite a few times.
