Welcome Surprises
Yondu x Reader Summary: Yondu comes back after a job and decides to surprise you with something fun he picked up while he was away. Warnings: NSFW, Smut. Sex toys. PWP, pretty much.
You had been tinkering at a workbench when you felt a pair of strong arms sneak around your waist, and you might have responded with an instinctively thrown a punch if you hadn't already grown accustomed to Yondu's penchant for doing exactly that each time he returned from a job.
It was normal for one of his first acts upon returning to seek you out and surprise you with steamy touches, chuckling warmly as you would lean back into him with a smile and playfully scold that you still had work to finish, and tease about how you "can't disobey Captain's Orders."
In turn he'd then usually nibble at your neck with a cheeky growl and joke about how 'he could take him' if "that captain' gave you any trouble for shirking your duties.
And after a little of this back and forth the two of you would then almost always find yourselves back in his quarters in a situation of the "hanky panky" variety, to quote some overheard mutterings from the crew when they ever saw the two of you together.
Today, however, he skipped his version of pleasantries and went straight for fumbling with the front of your pants, chuckling when his attempts to undo your belt proved to be slightly ticklish and resulted in you jerking with a suppressed giggle and a lighthearted complaint before he succeeded in his task.
You assumed he must be in a rush for some reason, as typically he's actually quite skilled at getting into your pants. At any rate, once he got them open he wasted no time putting a hand down the front of them, and you weren't exactly complaining, especially when you realized the real reason he had a case of fumbly fingers today.
You felt something rubbery in the hand he had placed in your underwear. He took just a second to position it and before you could really wonder what it was or ask you heard a soft click and your eyes widened- breath catching in your chest for a moment as pleasure immediately bloomed in your clit.
It would seem that Yondu decided to pick up a new little toy to use on you while he had been away. A clitoral-sucking toy, to be exact.
You didn't speak, just let out a soft whimper as your eyes rolled back in your head. By now you had already dropped what you were working on and were gripping the tabletop with both hands. Oh- this was nice. Very nice.
Yondu grinned wide, clearly happy with himself as he pulled you in a little tighter to himself with his other arm.
Soft moans escaped your throat as warm waves of pleasure radiated from your center. Later you would wonder where one of these had been all your life, and why you had never gotten one for yourself.
Yondu moved his hand from your waist and reached up under your shirt to caress at your breast. Just for fun, he also decided to start gently rocking the toy back and forth.
This resulted in your a momentary quiver of your knees and a soft "Ooh- ooh!" to pour from your lips. It was pure bliss, like gentle sunbeams were caressing your most sensitive part.
Another click, and it seemed Yondu had decided to turn up the intensity.
You moaned and arched your back in response, one hand leaving the table to reach back for him. But before you made contact with his face, you heard two more clicks.
A shriek nearly escaped you but your hand changed trajectory and clamped over your mouth just in time. You were now squirming in pleasure against him, unable to stay still, and it was clear he was enjoying every second of it.
The pleasure had now radiated deeper inside you, your walls clamping around perceived internal stimulation despite it all coming from the delicious suction at your clit.
More desperate whines came from your mouth now. It was so good. So good. You almost wanted to ask him to slow down so you could enjoy it longer, but at the same time you had to stop yourself from rutting his hand because of how badly you wanted to cum.
Your body didn't know what it wanted to do with itself. Couldn't decide if your legs wanted to clamp shut, or rub together, or open wider. Couldn't decide if your back should arch or your hips should buck. Couldn't decide if your hands should grip the table for dear life or grab at your breasts.
Yondu thoroughly enjoyed watching you squirm and moan. How with this new toy he was setting your nerves alight and you could hardly control yourself. He grinned into your neck and with one final click and switching from the gentle rocking to a gentle circular motion, it was all over for you.
You covered your mouth again as a scream ripped through your throat. Your whole body shook and with your other hand you grabbed onto his on your breast in an attempt to ground yourself as each wave of your orgasm crashed over you.
Having had plenty of experience with you in the sack he knew how to recognize when the final waves had crashed over you and just when to turn off and remove the toy so as not to overstimulate you... too much anyway. After all, you two were still in the workshop. Would do neither of you any good if he made you pass out in there as opposed to in his quarters after a bit more fun.
He held onto you as you leaned heavily back into him, catching your breath, until you were finally able to speak.
"Not complaining- but what was that for?" you asked, smiling with your eyes half-closed as you looked up at him.
Yondu grinned back and shrugged. "Didn't feel like waiting to try it out. Gotta say, not disappointed. You should have seen the way it made you move." He laughed as you blushed and lowered his head to your ear. In a low voice he then said the two of you should try again tonight back in his quarters, but that he also looked forward to drawing it out so he could watch you squirm in pleasure on his bed as he makes you beg him to let you cum. And then, when he finally lets you, he could listen to you squeal as he makes you cum over, and over again.
You look up at him, your eyes widened and your cheeks now burning.
Well you certainly weren't going to say no to that.

You Laugh, You lose
Guardians of the Galaxy fanfic | Reader x Yondu, Kraglin, Peter
Summary: You're stuck on planet until morning when a part fails on Yondu's M-ship, so Peter suggests a game to pass the time.
Author’s Note: This is the fluffy/funny fic I promised to make up for the two angsty fics before it. Hope you like it! Also shoutout to @badjokesbyjeff where I got most of these jokes from.
Word Count: 3,100
One rule.
You laugh. You lose.
Ok, maybe there were a couple more rules than that, but that was the gist.
It was a game often played between you and Peter, and occasionally also with Yondu or Kraglin on long job travels to kill the boredom.
The goal? Make the other person laugh. If you succeed, you win. You fail, then the game continues until someone loses it and laughs. Winner gets bragging rights, loser usually has to buy a round of drinks for the rest.
The game had originally started out with the one rule, but over time a couple more rules had been added. One of these rules was that stuff like tickling was cheating. You'd think this would have been an obvious rule to start with, but when it was you losing the game to tickles, Peter didn't mind. Less competition, right? But once the tables were turned and he lost a round, then suddenly tickling was "major cheating" and "totally unfair!" So, naturally, now there was a "no touching" rule during the game.
Another rule that needed to be added later was that Yondu couldn't gibberish talk his way to a win. It just gave him too much of an unfair advantage over you and Kraglin, who would crack up very quickly upon being face to face with a deadpan Yondu talking to you in pure nonsense. Peter was the only one of you three not really effected by it, as he found it more annoying than anything else.
Of course, Yondu tried to use his status as captain to veto this rule, but after a vote of 3-1 against the gibberish, he finally relented, stating that, "Aw, fine! I don't need to do that to win anyway!"
However, this didn't stop him from slipping a little in from time to time, always claiming he "forgot."
Sure, Yondu. Sure.
That was pretty much the main rules. The rest were more just guidelines. Like, smiling was allowed, as it didn't count as laughing, but too sharp of an exhale out your nose while smiling could be considered a laugh. Stuff like that.
Today happened to be one of those days where a job had run long, or rather, the trip did.
The job actually went fairly smoothly, to Yondu's surprise. However, when it was all said and done and it was time to leave, the ship wouldn't start.
Luckily, Yondu knew a guy who could fix the problem (just something minor with the fuel intake, but at the same time not something that Yondu could fix without replacing a part he didn't have and certain tools he didn't bring with him.) Only problem was the guy couldn't get the part in until the morning.
So you were all stuck there. Until morning. On a patch of the planet that wasn't within reasonable walking distance of anything fun. Plus it was raining, so you were all more or less confined to the ship for the evening.
Great.
So that's why Peter proposed a game of You Laugh You Lose.
At first Yondu didn't want to, being grumpy about being stranded for the night over such a minor fix and all, but Kraglin managed to convince him in hopes it would lift his spirits.
Now, playing with four people was a little different than one on one. With two people you'd sit facing your opponent and take turns trying to make the other laugh. When starting with four you all sat around the table, each person taking a turn in attempts to get any of the other three to laugh. If someone cracks, regardless of who made them laugh, they're out, and can act as referees, or mildly help crack the others if they choose. Also, instead of the just first to lose owing everyone a round a drinks, all three losers would owe a round, pretty much ensuring the winner 3 free drinks the next time they went out.
Peter sat directly in front of you at the small table, with Yondu to your left and Kraglin sitting directly in front of him. The four of you took a second to fully compose yourselves, making your faces as expressionless as possible, and then Peter started.
He stared you dead in the eye. "Why do bees hum?" he asked, waiting a moment, more for comedic timing than an actual answer, as was how many of the jokes told in the game went. When no one spoke up he said, "Because they don't know the words."
You exhaled slowly through your nose and shook your head, the known sign for, "That the best you got?"
Kraglin's turn now. He took a different approach. He crossed his eyes and in a deadpan voice said, "Wanna hear a joke about a piece of paper?"
Yondu raised an eyebrow, but shook his head when Kraglin continued, "Never mind, it's tearable." Peter made the universal noise for having heard a bad joke.
Your turn. "What did the A'askavariian say after a bad night out?"
"What?" asked Kraglin.
"Wouldn't know. You should ask Peter."
Peter made a scandalized noise. "One time!"
You saw Yondu's mouth twitch, but he quickly recovered. Kraglin took a deep breath and exhaled to keep it together.
Yondu's turn. He told another joke at Peter's expense, and actually made himself crack a smile when Peter protested again. You and Kraglin fought back grins as Peter took his turn.
"What's Beethoven's favorite fruit?"
The three of you shake your heads, though in Yondu and Kraglin's case you were sure it was more because they didn't know who Beethoven was. This was then confirmed by Kraglin asking, "Who's that?"
Peter didn't answer the question, instead letting out a, "Ba-na-NA-NA!"
Peter said this so suddenly and loudly that even Yondu jerked his head back in startled surprise, as did Kraglin, but Kraglin also had to stop himself from barking out a startled laugh. You, however, had to try much harder to keep yourself from laughing. It wasn't even that good of a joke, but his delivery had you biting your tongue to keep it together. Yondu didn't get the joke, but assumed it likely would have been real funny on Terra as he watched you try to steady your breathing just as Kraglin took his turn.
"Ya know the difference between an oral and rectal thermometer? ... The taste."
That one received a collective groan and a look of disgust from you and Peter. Yondu looked almost impressed as he shook his head.
It was your turn again. "I once watched a documentary on how ships are kept together. It was... riveting." You wiggled your eyebrows on the punchline, but only received a mock-disappointed stare from the others at your awful pun.
Instead of a joke, Yondu decided on his next turn to tell a story. "One time we were on a job on Krylor," he began, "and a pretty lil' miss thing caught Peter's eye..."
Peter's eyes widened. He had a bad feeling about which story Yondu was about to tell. "Yondu, don't." he warned flatly.
Yondu only grinned and ignored him "He goes sauntering up to her, trying to be all smooth like.."
"Yondu, seriously." Peter warned again. Again, Yondu ignored him. By now you and Kraglin were already grinning from Peter's reaction alone.
"But the boy ain't watchin' where he's goin', he slips on an empty soda can and falls flat on his face right in front of her. But that's not the best part-"
"I will seriously kill you, ya blue dick!" Peter was getting so red and flustered you had to bite your tongue, as did Kraglin who's nostrils where flaring with the effort.
"It had rained that mornin', and he had been just unlucky enough to land on a puddle, and when he stood up it looked like he'd gone and done pissed himself. I don't think I need to say he didn't wind up gettin' the girl."
That broke Kraglin. He snorted a laugh and Yondu clapped his hands together, shouting, "Gotcha! Yer out!"
Kraglin groaned out a, "I don't know why those stories always get me!" but sat back grinning anyways as Peter buried his scarlet face in his hands whining, "So uncool!"
Peter composed himself and glared at Yondu. "Alright. What about that time you accidentally switched the intercom on while listening to that Brittany Spears music from Terra?"
Yondu just stared at him stonily, no hint of emotion, refusing to dignify the story with a response, although you almost thought you could see his face slightly darken. Kraglin, even though he was out, pretended to be very interested in the table and after an awkward beat you decided to take your turn, because there's no way you'd let yourself laugh at Yondu's music choices if you knew what was good for you.
"SO- Did you hear about the guy whose whole left side was cut off? He’s all right now." you say in an attempt to bring the game back to jokes lest you be the next one they decide to dredge up an embarrassing story about.
Yondu turned his attention to you. "Ya know, I think the toilet has anger issues," he said. You gave him a confused look and he continued, "Whenever I flush it, it completely loses its shit."
You fight a smile. Peter does the same despite himself still being cranky about Yondu's previous story. Kraglin, however, openly giggles at the joke.
Peter quickly steadies his breathing and says, "There were once two guys flying a ship in dead space. One turns to his buddy and says: 'Damn, I can’t find any milk for my coffee.' His friend replies: 'In space no one can, here use cream.'"
You raised an eyebrow in confusion momentarily before throwing your head back with a groan as you got the joke. "That's a terrible joke!" you say, allowing yourself to grin.
"But you wanna laugh, don't you?" Peter teased.
You playfully glare at him and take your turn instead of answering. "Which is heavier, 200 lbs of feathers, or 200 lbs of bricks?"
Now Yondu raised an eyebrow. "They'd weigh the same, kid."
You try not to grin as you shake your head. "Nah. It's the feathers, because you also have to carry the weight of what you did to those poor birds."
Yondu propped his elbow on the table and half-hid his grin behind his hand as he nodded his head in approval, before being mildly startled by the sound of a laugh escaping Peter's gritted teeth. Yondu joyfully slapped the table and pointed at Peter. "Yer out too, boy!"
"Aw, dammit!" Peter cried out, but he wasn't angry anymore. He followed Kraglin's lead and relaxed in his chair knowing he was now able to laugh freely at any corny jokes that came.
Yondu smirks at you. "And then there were two."
Crap. You had really been hoping you wouldn't need to square up against him alone. He was really good at this game, and rarely broke. You, however, always had to fight super hard against turning into a giggly little mess, and usually lost. There was just something about his ability to deliver the jokes with a completely deadpan or stern face that always broke you, but this time you were going to try your best to avoid that.
"I was kidnapped by mimes once." he said, "They did unspeakable things to me."
You inhaled deeply, and let it out slowly, shaking your head as you did so and giving a look that said 'Damn you.' "What’s the difference between an amateur thief and a professional thief?" you begin, continuing after a beat, "The amateur thief says, 'Give me all your money!' The professional thief says, 'Sign here please.'"
Yondu nodded his head thoughtfully. "That's actually pretty accurate. Not sure that's even a joke..." he grinned, almost taunting you at the inability to draw a laugh from him. His turn now. "Two burglars are robbin' a liquor store. One turns to the other an' asks, 'Is this whiskey?' The other replies, “Yeah, but not as wisky as wobbing a bank.” Of course, this last line was delivered with a clean slate of emotion, your weakness.
Fuck.
You had to turn your head away from him as you fought to keep your breathing in check, your lips pressed together, threatening to betray you.
"Ay Ay! No looking away you coward!" Peter laughed, prompting you to face him instead. You flipped him off, your grin finally splitting your face.
"There it is! Come on, you know ya wanna laugh." Yondu teased, grinning at how your nostrils flared when you turned back to glare at him. An unconvincing glare, but it was the best you could manage.
After a couple deep breaths with your hands balled into fists you thought you had calmed down enough to take your turn. "I yelled “COW!” at a woman on a bike once. She flipped me off and then ran straight into the cow..." You raised your hands and shrugged your shoulders in mock exasperation. "I tried!"
Peter laughed while Kraglin and Yondu just shared an amused glance.
"Ya know, I might've actually found that funny... if I knew what a cow was." Yondu taunted, grinning as your shoulders fell in realization.
That made Peter snort, probably for no other reason than he now just had a case of the giggles. But the look on your face was probably part of it. His snort in turn made you grin, his laughter contagious.
This gave Yondu an idea. Grinning evilly he reached over to poke Peter in the side, making the younger man jerk almost violently away with a giggle. Kraglin chuckled as Peter protested, "Hey! You know that's cheating!"
"Nah, you're out, boy. There ain't no rule that says I can't use it on someone that's outta the game." Yondu argued playfully, throwing a look at Kraglin who took the hint and poked Peter from the other side.
"Hey!" Peter whined, the pitiful sound making you cover your mouth to hide your widening grin.
Kraglin stood so he could tickle Peter properly, seeing your amusement at his predicament, and you clenched your jaw as streams of your friend's laughter mixed with uncharacteristically high pitched, "No!"s and "Please!"s poured from his mouth before he managed to escape Kraglin's grip and hop away from the table, clutching his sides and catching his breath. Just in time too, because you were worried that might've actually broken you if Peter hadn't stopped his girly ticklish squeals.
Yondu must've realized this too because he snapped his fingers in mock frustration, and conceded that it was your turn again. In truth he was glad Peter got away as well. The plan had almost backfired on him, nearly having made him laugh at the sight as well.
You had to restart your joke twice, each time having to stop yourself from accidentally laughing so you wouldn't lose. Eventually you finally got out, "Guy with a gun enters a bar... He cries out angrily: 'Who the fuck had sex with my wife?'... A voice was heard in the background, "You don’t have enough bullets mate!”
Yondu grinned, looking down at the table before nodding. "I like that one. It's good." However, he didn't laugh, just went straight into his next joke. "Nurse hands a man his newborn and says 'I’m sorry, but your wife didn’t make it.' He hands it back, saying, 'Well give me the one my wife made.'"
Your eyes went wide. "Yondu!" you scold. "That's terrible!"
"Don't give me that! I can see ya fighting not to laugh."
It was true. As much as the joke was bad, you couldn't help it. There's nothing that makes someone want to laugh more than knowing you can't laugh. Everything's funnier when you can't laugh. You roll your eyes and deliver your next joke. "Why couldn't the toilet paper cross the road? ... It got stuck in a crack."
Peter cracked up at that, moving to sit back down with a warning glance at Kraglin, who held up his hands as a sign that he wasn't going to tickle him again. Kraglin then shook his head with a wide grin as he watched Yondu run his tongue over his teeth and look down as he tried to suppress a smile.
Yondu inhaled. "Damn. Ya almost got me."
You grinned wide and bit your tongue. You almost got yourself.
"Ya wanna hear a joke 'bout construction?"
You let out a dramatic sigh. "You're gonna tell it anyway, might as well."
"I'm still workin' on it."
You smack your hand on your thigh and jerk your head to the side as your breath hitched. "Fuck you!" you say, a wide grin plastered to your face.
Now Peter and Kraglin were laughing at yours and Yondu's reactions more than anything else.
"Ya wanna tap out now? There's no shame if ya do." Yondu teased.
"Fuck you." you say again. "What did the plumber say to the singer?" You cursed yourself for not being able to come up with a better joke, but delivered the punch-line anyway. "Nice pipes."
Yondu didn't even crack a smile a that, not that you blamed him. He asked, "What's the difference between a good joke and a bad joke?"
"I don-"
"TIMING!" Yondu shouted so suddenly that you jerked back and a startled laugh finally broke free from your throat, and once it was out it was like a dam had collapsed- you couldn't hold back the torrent of giggles that had built up for so long.
"Dude! You can't just yell stuff out like that!" you scold, still giggling as you held a hand to your heart, "You scared me!"
"Made ya laugh though, that's what counts." he grinned. He stood up from the table and stretched. "Looks like I win." He ruffled your hair and you swatted him away playfully.
"One of these days I'll get you!" you say.
"Then why don't ya put your money where your mouth is," Kraglin laughed, Peter nodding with him, saying, "Yeah, you two face off again. Right now. Loser pays for everyone's drinks for the night next time we go out."
Still giggly you glance from Peter and Kraglin to a smug looking Yondu standing and grinning at you with his arms crossed.
With a giggly sigh you bow your head and concede. "I can't. I'm not ready."
Yondu lets out a chuckle and pulls you in to give you a noogie. "That's what I thought."

Yondu stopped walking at the sound of footsteps behind him. He recognized Athena’s tread and waited for her to catch up to him.
“Where have you been?” she asked, walking around to face him.
“Jus’ some maintenance ‘round tha ship.”
“All week? I’ve rarely seen you. You don’t come back to our room until late and then you’re gone when I wake up.”
“Jus’ a lotta stuff ta take care of.”
She searched his face. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“You don’t seem fine.”
“Jus’ tired, I guess.”
She hesitated for a moment as she watched him. “Are you sure that’s all it is?”
“What else would it be?”
“I don’t know, you just seem… distant.”
She looked down at her hands for a moment and he noticed that she was twisting them out of nervousness. He felt a pang of regret that he’d caused it.
“Sorry, darlin’. I promise I’ll try ta finish up early tonight.”
“I’ve missed you, Yondu.”
She gave him a small smile and he felt another pang.
“I’ve missed ya, too, darlin’.”
She took a step forward and placed a sweet kiss on his lips. “Well, I know you’re busy, Captain, so I’ll let you get back to work. I’ll see you tonight?”
He didn’t miss the fact that she’d phrased it as a question and it killed him.
“I’ll see ya tonight, darlin’, don’t worry. I’ll have ‘em send something ta tha room fer supper, an’ we can spend some time together.”
“Okay!” She gave him a quick hug, then started walking backward as she said, “I told Tullk I’d help him with some stuff, so I’d better go.”
“Bye, darlin’.”
“Bye, Yondu!” She waved before turning around.
He watched her leave, sighing after she turned the corner. He walked into a mostly-unused supply closet and sat down on a crate, resting his face in his hands.
He loved Athena more than he’d loved anyone, and he hated that he couldn’t just tell her how much he loved her. How much she meant to him. Part of him kept waiting for her to leave. If he was honest with himself, he thought she should.
He’d thought about it. He’d done nothing but think about it for the past couple of weeks. Ever since he’d seen Athena talking to one of the Terran traders on one of their supply runs. It was innocent, he knew that. There had been no flirting, nothing to give him pause or make him wonder about Athena’s feelings.
But it still made him realize that she deserved someone like that trader. Someone with a steady and safe job. Someone who could provide her with a nice life, someone she had more in common with than a Ravager. Someone who could give her a house and children. Someone completely unlike Yondu.
He stood up and kicked another crate, not caring when its contents spilled across the floor.
He knew Athena deserved better, but he also knew it would kill him if she left. He wouldn’t stop her if she chose to leave, though. He wouldn’t stand in her way, even if it would feel like being stabbed by uncountable knives.
Leaving the mess he’d made, he left the supply closet and made his way to the training room. He’d talk to Athena later that night, but in the meantime, he’d work off some excess energy. He locked the door behind him, grabbed a quad blaster, then picked a target that looked suspiciously like the Terran trader.
_
Athena brushed her hair nervously as she waited for Yondu to get back to their room. She wasn’t sure why she was nervous, except that Yondu had been acting strange lately and it had her worried.
She started when she heard the door to their quarters open, and she took a deep breath, placing the hairbrush on the small counter in their bathroom.
She walked out to meet Yondu and was relieved to see him smiling. He pulled her into a hug and she melted into him, taking in the comforting scent of him before pulling back to grin at him.
His hands rested loosely on her hips and she leaned up on her tiptoes to kiss him as he held her steady.
When she stood in front of him again, he took her hand and led her over to one of two mismatched chairs. She sat as he pulled the other chair over next to her.
“Food’ll be here soon.”
“Okay.”
“How was yer day?”
“It was good. Just helping Tullk with some stuff. How was yours?”
“Good.”
“Are you -” Athena broke off mid-question when she heard someone knock on the door.
“That’ll be tha food. ‘Bout time, too, I’m starvin’.”
He strode to the door, took the food from whichever Ravager had carried it down from the mess hall, and brought it back to the table.
He handed a plate to Athena. “What was ya sayin’ ‘fore tha food got here?”
She took the plate and picked up a fork. “Oh, I was just going to ask if you were sure everything is okay?”
“Oh. Yeah, yeah, ever’thing’s fine.”
She bit her lip as he placed what she hoped was chicken on her plate – it was sometimes hard to tell. “It’s just… you’ve seemed so distant lately. Like you’re pulling away.”
He met her eyes across the table and sighed. “Okay, yeah. I jus’ been doin’ some thinkin’.”
“About what?”
He placed his fork on his plate and rubbed a hand down his face. “Us. Me, mostly. I mean, I jus’…”
He stood up suddenly and walked across the room, keeping his back to her.
“Yondu…”
“I jus’ ain’t good enough fer ya. I seen ya with that Terran trader an’ I jus’… I knew.”
She looked at his back in bewilderment. “Knew what?”
“That that’s what’cha deserve. A good man who probably ain’t never robbed nobody. Ain’t never killed nobody. Ain’t gonna be draggin’ ya inta danger ever’ damn day.”
“Yondu…”
“I done things in my life I ain’t proud of, things I’d be ashamed fer ya ta know ‘bout, an’ I’m afraid yer gonna find out and hate me fer it.”
“Yondu, listen to me.”
“Wouldn’t even blame ya if ya left.”
“Yondu!”
Her raised voice stunned him enough that he turned back to face her. She stood and walked over to him, though she didn’t touch him.
“Darlin’ -”
“No, you’re going to listen to me now. I may not know what all you’ve done in the past, but I do know it doesn’t change anything. I may not understand just how much you’ve suffered. I may not have ever imagined myself living with Ravagers. I may not always understand you. But I do know what you are, Yondu Udonta. You’re a good man and I love you.”
“I don’t deserve ya, darlin’, an’ you definitely deserve better’n me.”
“No.”
“What?”
“No. It’s not about what we deserve.” She took a step closer to him and placed a hand gently on his cheek. “Yondu, I need you to understand that I love you and thats all that matters.”
He covered her hand with his and closed his eyes for a moment. When he opened them again, he smiled. “Ya mean it?”
She gave him a small smile and shook her head as she lightly pushed his chest. “Do you think I would have given that long speech while our food got cold if I didn’t mean it?”
His smile widened. “I love ya, Athena.”
“I love you, too, Yondu. Now let’s eat.”
They returned to the table, Yondu in a noticeably better mood.
He took a bite of the hopefully-chicken and said, “Mmm… this food’s good.”
Athena nodded. “It is. I have a question, though.”
“What?”
“What’s this about me deserving Terran Ted?”
“What? He’s a decent guy, got a steady job.”
“But he’s so boring. Honestly. Me and Terran Ted?”
Yondu chuckled. “Sorry, darlin’.”
She pointed her fork at him. “You’d better be.”
He grinned as he took another bite. “Got a tip ‘bout a new job today.”
“Are you going to take it?”
“Probably. Be worth it if we can pull it off. I ain’t ever been ta that planet before, but the tip’s pretty detailed an’ my informant gave me a key to get into tha place. Think I got enough info ta take it on.”
“Sounds good. When are we going?”
“Thinkin’ tha day after tomorrow.”
She nodded. “I’ll go practice my shooting.”
“Ya ain’t gotta go, ya know. Probably best if ya stay here on tha ship. Ya ain’t actually been on a mission yet.”
Her brows creased as she lowered her fork. “I can’t go?”
“Well, I mean, I ain’t gonna stop ya if ya really wanna go, but I don’t think it’s a good idea. We need ta start ya out on a easy mission first.”
“You said the tip was detailed. Does it seem like it will be a hard mission?”
“Well, it’s hard ta say.”
“What do you think?”
“Uh, it’s probably gonna be pretty straightforward. Jus’ can’t say fer sure.”
“Well, I want to go.”
He sighed as she glared at him. “Fine. But I still don’t think it’s a good idea.”
Placated, she offered him a small smile. “I’ll be fine, Yondu. I’ve been practicing using the quad blaster, and I’ve gotten better. And you’ll be there!”
He returned her smile and shook his head slightly. “Yer right, darlin’. It’s gonna be fine.”
_
They landed on Ebrion two days later, and Yondu was unexpectedly nervous.
“Ya got yer quad blaster?”
“Yes.”
“An’ yer spare blaster?”
“Yes.”
“An ya remember how to use ‘em?”
Athena rolled her eyes. “Yes, Yondu, I remember how to use my blasters.”
“Good, that’s good.”
“Yondu, relax, it’s going to be fine.”
“Yeah, yer right. What can go wrong? I mean, it’s a deserted planet, right?”
“Right.”
“An’ the map we got fer inside the cave is pretty detailed.”
“Exactly.”
“In an’ out, no problem.”
She nodded. “No problem.”
Yondu sighed and pulled her in for a hug. “Somethin’ jus’ feels off.”
She wrapped her arms around him. “What could feel off?”
“Dunno. Jus’ a feelin’.”
She leaned back so she could see his face. “Do you normally get feelings before missions?”
“Sometimes.”
“Are you normally right?”
“Most of tha time.”
She bit her lip. “What do you think is wrong this time?”
“Dunno,” he repeated. “Maybe it’s a good idea if ya stay on tha ship.”
Her brows creased. “No! We’ve already discussed this. I’m coming with you.”
Sighing, he replied, “Fine, fine.”
“It’s going to be okay, Yondu.” She leaned up and kissed him, smiling as she pulled away. “We’ll be fine.”
_
After organizing the crew into three separate groups, Yondu led his group across an empty field.
“Map says there’ll be a stone buildin’ that’s painted blue on tha other side of that hill. It’ll be down in a valley. Then we’ll jus’ follow these directions down ta tha door. Says it’ll be wooden, also painted blue, with a door knocker.”
“Ya still got a bad feelin’ ‘bout this place, Cap’n?” asked Kraglin.
Yondu nodded. “Yeah, reckon so.”
Athena caught up to Yondu and said quietly, “But you said the planet was deserted. What could go wrong?”
“Lots a things. But don’t worry, darlin’. If anythin’ goes wrong, Kraglin has orders ta get ya back ta tha ship safely.”
“If something goes wrong, I’m going to stay and help.”
“No, ya ain’t.”
“Yondu, I thought we’d -”
Yondu stopped walking and held out an arm to stop Athena. “Did ya hear that?”
“No.”
He looked around at the crew members with him. “Y’all hear anythin’?”
Most of the crew looked confused, but Tullk nodded. “Mighta heard somethin’, Cap’n. Can’t be sure.”
“Let’s go, but quieter now.”
They moved forward without speaking until they finally crested the hill and headed down into the valley.
“There’s tha stone buildin’.”
Kraglin shivered. “Looks mighty creepy jus’ sittin’ down there by itself, don’t it?”
They made their way down, and as they moved closer to the building, Yondu checked in with the other two groups. Once he’d confirmed both groups were in position, he motioned his group to follow him again.
They moved through the labyrinthine paths, Yondu checking the map occasionally, until they reached the blue, wooden door with the knocker.
“This is it. I want y’all to stay back with yer weapons out. Some of y’all can fan out back ta tha end of tha path. Athena, I want ya stayin’ close ta me.”
She nodded without speaking, Yondu’s nervousness rubbing off on her.
He moved forward toward the door, pulling the key out of his pocket. He inserted it into the lock, trying to turn it. His brows creased as he tried again, then once more. The lock wasn’t stuck. It was worse than that. Far worse.
“Damn!” Yondu pounded a fist against the door.
“What?” Athena asked.
“Damn it!”
“What is it?”
“It’s a false door.”
“It’s a what?”
“A false door! There ain’t nothin’ inside. There ain’t no artifact. It’s a damn trap.”
It was a trap. A trap. How had he fallen for such an obvious setup? And worse yet, he’d brought Athena with him, into danger and death – the one thing he swore he’d never do.
Yondu ran a hand down his face as he considered the implications. He didn’t know who would want to set him up, though he was sure that were plenty who did, but not knowing who made it harder to come up with a plan.
Athena was watching him nervously, biting the inside of her cheek, and Yondu tried to keep his face blank.
She flinched as someone fired a gun somewhere above them, and Yondu wanted nothing more than to protect her. He hated himself for putting her in this position. She’d done nothing to deserve this, and yet here she was, paying the price for all he’d done wrong in his life.
The rest of his crew had headed back up the path to join the fighting at the first sign of gunfire.
“Sorry,” he said gruffly.
She looked at him in confusion. “What?”
“Sorry I got us into this mess, sorry I ain’t a better man fer ya. Ya deserve -”
“Yondu, are we really having this conversation again? Right now?”
“I know what’cha said, an’ -”
“Were you not listening? I love you, Yondu. I don’t care what you’ve done in the past. It doesn’t matter to me.”
“But -”
“No! Just stop. I love you, Yondu, and that means all of you. I can’t make you believe it, but I’ll do my best to prove it to you every day.”
Yondu grabbed Athena and pulled her as close as he could, his lips on hers before she could even process what was happening. Even with the guns firing above their heads, even with being on the wrong side of the door, the deadly side of the door, she couldn’t help but melt into him, into the rightness of him.
A bullet ricocheted off the wall close to them and they were violently brought back to the harsh reality of their circumstances. Yondu grabbed her shoulders and moved her back to arm’s length.
“Ya gotta get outta here, Athena. Ya gotta get back ta tha ship. I’ll distract ‘em long enough fer ya ta make it. Kraglin’s at tha end of this path, an’ he’ll get’cha back safe.”
Her brows creased and she shook her head in disbelief as she realized what he meant. “No. No! I’m not leaving you here!”
He moved his hands from her shoulders to cup her face. “Yes, ya are. I ain’t lettin’ ya stay here an’ get hurt.”
“What about you? I don’t want you to get hurt, either!” A tear slipped down her face and Yondu wiped it away with his thumb. “Yondu, I love you and I’m not leaving you here alone, even if that means I die with you.”
Yondu took a step closer to her, his hands still cradling her face as he leaned his forehead against hers and closed his eyes briefly before opening them again, his ruby eyes meeting her blue ones. “Darlin’, yer not dyin’ here. Ya hear me? Yer gettin’ off this forsaken’ planet.”
Her hands grabbed the front of his coat in a tight grip. “Not without you.”
“Athena -”
“No! Forget it, Yondu. I’m staying!”
She could see the resignation on his face and knew she’d won, though she wasn’t sure at what cost.
His shoulders rose and fell and she knew he’d sighed, though she couldn’t hear it over the shouting and gunfire. “What do we do?” Her voice broke on the last word, even as she tried to be brave.
She knew it was a suicide mission now, just as she knew Yondu was also aware of it. She could see it in the set of his shoulders as he released her face. Another tear slipped down her cheek, and she repeated, “Yondu, what do we do?”
“We get outta this mess.”
“How?”
“We’s Ravagers, ain’t we?”
It was the first time he’d referred to her as a Ravager. The first time he’d accepted that she wasn’t going anywhere, that she didn’t think the Ravagers were lesser for being criminals, that she didn’t think he was lesser. The first time he’d truly believed she loved him and wouldn’t leave him. It didn’t matter what he deserved. She loved him regardless of who he was and what he’d done and she’d keep loving him as long as they lived.
The thought gave him a greater need to survive this day. He’d kissed her knowing neither would survive, though he knew he’d die trying to keep her alive, but now, now, he had something more to live for and he wasn’t giving that up without a fight.
“We find a way.”
The blazing look in his eye gave Athena the spark of courage she needed to keep going. She nodded, once, and slipped her arms around him, giving him a quick squeeze, before pulling back and removing her quad blaster from her holster.
“Lead the way, Captain.”
He grinned, knowing in an instant that something had changed. He’d loved her before, more than he could have imagined possible, but this was something more. This was complete trust. He trusted her to have his back, implicitly, and he could see in her eyes that she felt the same. He knew there was no one else he’d rather have by his side at this moment. His friend. His lover. His queen.
“This ain’t gonna be easy.”
She smiled and shook her head. “Nothing ever is when you’re involved.”
Chuckling under his breath, he moved slowly away from the false door to the edge of the wall, taking a look around the corner to try to determine the best course of action. It looked hopeless, but he hadn’t become a Ravager Captain by giving up when things looked hopeless. He turned his head to check on Athena once more before heading into the fray.
She stood behind him, in the stance he’d taught her, holding her quad blaster in the correct position, aiming at the ground until she was ready to fire. He’d never imagined she’d ever use it. Never imagined she’d ever need to use it, but he thanked every star in the sky that he’d taught her himself so he knew she was taught right. He didn’t doubt she’d hit her mark when she finally lifted the blaster and took aim for the first time.
“Ready?”
She nodded.
“Stay close ta me.”
Yondu turned his head again, took a deep breath, then whistled his arrow out of its holster before leaving the relative safety of the alcove. He strode purposefully forward, whistling his arrow at every enemy he could see, though there were more than he knew he’d be able to take down on his own.
He could see Ravagers still standing and fighting, but it wasn’t enough, not even close to being enough. He could see the ship in the distance through the smoke and haze, but it might as well have been on another planet. He was about to give in to despair when he felt Athena move beside him, lifting her quad blaster and firing, taking out an enemy.
The Ravager the enemy had been fighting looked up in surprise. “Cap’n! I thought ya’s dead!”
“Well, I ain’t!” Yondu shouted over the sounds of the battlefield. He sent his arrow through the skull of a man running toward him with a raised sword. “Ya seen anyone who looks like tha leader?”
The Ravager pointed across the battlefield. “I ain’t sure, but I think it’s that big fella over there.”
A wave of recognition crashed over Yondu as he looked to where the Ravager pointed. It was one of the many people Yondu had stolen from over the years.
The jobs he took were never personal. It was strictly business. Granted, it was dirty business and the person on the other side was never happy about the results, but he’d grown used to it by now. He’d made plenty of enemies. Plenty of people would happily kill him without another thought. None of them scared him like this one.
Acheron Kane had been crueler than most, and had Yondu known what he was getting into at the time, he would have turned down the job at the beginning. But he’d thought it was just another theft, just another run-of-the-mill job. It hadn’t been.
Acheron Kane was unhinged, and the amulet Yondu had stolen from him had belonged to Acheron’s lover, who had died two years before. He had believed the amulet would help him bring her back, and though Yondu knew that was impossible, he would never have stolen it had he known the significance of it to Acheron, simply because he’d since learned that Acheron was not someone to be crossed.
By the time he’d learned of it, he’d already sold the amulet and forgotten about it. Acheron hadn’t. He found out who’d stolen it and vowed to kill anyone Yondu ever loved. Yondu hadn’t worried about it at the time. There was no one he loved, not the way Acheron meant, and he hadn’t taken the threat seriously.
He’d managed not to bump into him again and the threat had faded in his memory. He hadn’t recalled it after he’d met Athena, and it hadn’t resurfaced after he fell in love with her, lost in the haze of wonder that someone like her was with someone like him.
But he remembered it now and it chilled him.
“Stay with Kraglin.”
“What? No. I’m going to help -”
“No, ya ain’t, yer stayin’ right here.” He turned to her. “Do this fer me, darlin’. Promise me.”
“But -”
“Promise me.”
“Fine, I promise.”
Yondu turned without another word, hoping she’d keep her promise. He didn’t know if it would be enough to keep her safe, but he couldn’t let Acheron know Athena was more to him than just another crew member.
If he found out, they’d both be lost.
He walked purposefully across the battlefield, sidestepping fighting groups of Ravagers and enemies, his eyes never leaving the imposing form of Acheron Kane.
He knew the moment Acheron spotted him. The man had turned and paused at the sight of Yondu, an evil smirk spreading across his face. He hadn’t walked to meet Yondu, instead waiting for Yondu to close the distance.
“So nice of you to join us, Udonta.”
“Wha’dya want, Kane?”
Acheron tilted his head slightly. “Oh, I think you know what I want.”
Yondu was hoping against all hope that it was a bluff. That Acheron had lured him here only to kill him, and not that he’d discovered the truth about Athena. He hoped Acheron didn’t even know Athena had joined his crew, that she even existed.
“Yer gonna hafta be more specific. Otherwise, I’ll be leavin’. Got things ta do.”
“I heard you have a new crew member.”
Yondu’s heart sank but he willed his face to remain impassive. “Keepin’ tabs on me, are ya?”
“Oh, yes. Mine wasn’t an idle threat. I still intend to carry it out.”
“Ya wasted yer time, then.”
“Oh?”
“Don’t think yer killin’ my crew’s gonna have tha effect yer lookin’ fer. Crews are a dime a dozen.”
The evil smirk on Acheron’s face grew wider. “Oh, I don’t know about that. Rumor is that you care more for one particular crew member than you do the others.”
“Don’t know where ya heard that.”
“My sources have never failed me. I doubt they’re going to start now. I have to admit, though, when I made the threat, part of me feared it would never come to fruition. Ravager Captain, Yondu Udonta, falling in love? Unlikely. But it seems I was proven wrong.” He looked around the battlefield as though he knew Athena was nearby. “Where is she, Udonta? Why are you trying to hide her? You know how this will end. You know I won’t stop until she is dead. Why prolong it?”
Yondu shook his head, his practiced nonchalance an effort this time. “Still don’t know what yer talkin’ ‘bout.”
“Enough of this nonsense! I know who she is, Udonta, and I know she is here.” He took another step closer to Yondu and lowered his voice, though it lost none of its menace. “The longer you delay, the longer you take to bring her to me, the longer I’ll take to kill her. I will draw it out. I will make her suffer. She will beg for death before the end, and I will make sure she knows you’re the reason she’s suffering.” He paused and took one more step closer to Yondu, leaning in to leer at him. “And I’ll make you watch it all.”
Yondu couldn’t suppress the chill that went down his spine. He knew Acheron wasn’t lying, but he also knew he wasn’t going to give in and hand Athena over to the evil man standing in front of him, not without a fight. Not unless he’d drawn his last breath.
He also knew the time for bluffs was over.
“Ya must think I’m crazy if ya think I’m gonna bring her over her.”
“Ah, so we’ve moved past the lies. Good. And we both know you’re only delaying the inevitable. Do you think we can lure her out if I hurt you? Do you think she loves you enough to put herself in danger for you?”
Yondu’s jaw clenched. It didn’t go unnoticed by Acheron.
He raised a brow. “Or maybe she doesn’t love you enough for that. That makes it even worse, in a way, doesn’t it? That she’s going to die for someone she doesn’t even love.”
Yondu made a jerking movement as though the very words pained him. “Don’t.”
“Don’t what, Udonta? Don’t put your fears into words?”
Yondu whistled, his arrow leaving its holster and flying toward Acheron’s head. Acheron caught it easily and chuckled.
“I wondered when your toy would make an appearance.” He snapped it in half, and the two pieces fell harmlessly to the ground. “But I grow impatient and I tire of this meaningless banter. Bring her to me or I shall find her myself.”
“I ain’t lettin’ ya lay a hand on her.”
“You’re in no position to be making promises you can’t keep. Although I suppose she’s used to broken promises, being with a Ravager. Your type aren’t known for keeping your word. Did you promise to keep her safe?” He shook his head. “Just one more worthless promise from a worthless Ravager.”
The sounds of battle continued to rage around them, but the two men might as well have been the only two on the battlefield.
“Why not just kill me? She ain’t done nothin’ ta ya!”
“Killing you won’t satisfy me. I want you to suffer. I want you to feel what it’s like to have the person you love ripped from you.”
“I didn’t kill -”
“You might as well have been the one to pull the trigger! You stole the amulet from me! The only way I could have brought her back! And now it’s gone.”
“There ain’t no bringin’ back tha dead. Ain’t no amulet can do that.”
Acheron glared at Yondu. “I want you to remember those words. I want you to remember them every day. Every day when you wake up and realize there will be no bringing her back to you once I’m finished with her! You will live your life knowing you were the reason she lost hers!”
Yondu opened his mouth to reply when Acheron suddenly dropped to his knees, a surprised expression on his face before he collapsed at Yondu’s feet.
Yondu looked up, stunned, to see Athena standing in front of him, her quad blaster still aimed at Archeron’s back.
She met Yondu’s eyes and took a shaky breath. “He talked too much.”
Yondu let out a strangled laugh and moved to her, sidestepping the lifeless body of Acheron. He pulled her close and held her tight as the battle raged around them.
She wrapped her arms around him, briefly, then said, “Should we be standing here when there’s still fighting going on?”
He laughed again as he pulled away from her. “Probably not.”
She handed him her spare quad blaster and he grinned as he took it.
“Together?” He asked.
“Always.”
They shared a brief grin before heading back into the fray and fighting their way to the ship.
_
Later, on the ship…
Athena dipped a washcloth in some water and gently wiped Yondu’s face, trying to clean his cuts.
“So you just… forgot about this pretty serious-sounding threat?”
Yondu shrugged. “Yeah.”
“How?”
“Well, it didn’t really apply ta my life at tha time. Didn’t expect it ta ever apply, ta be honest.”
“And then when it did apply?”
“Maybe I’s so smitten that it slipped my mind.”
Athena raised a brow and tried to hold back her smile as she dropped the cloth in the water. “Are you trying to sweet talk me so I’ll forget about it?”
“Maybe.” He placed his hands on her hips. “It workin’?”
Unable to fight her smile anymore, she replied, “Maybe.”
He chuckled and pulled her a little closer. “Good.”

Intoxicating Discovery, Fantasies Fulfilled
Yondu x Reader Summary: Yondu discovers that he can smell Terran arousal, and finds this new revelation very interesting. Warnings: NSFW, Smut. Crappy title, might change later, (open to suggestions lol)
You didn't know exactly when you started to have the hots for your captain, but you considered the fact that you did to be inconvenient.
Mostly because you didn't see him being interested in sleeping with one of his crew.
So, you tried to push any "horny" thoughts away when you were around him. Easier said than done. His gruff voice, the way he carried himself, that cocky grin, his teasing nature... all made you want him. But still, you were sure that it was never going to happen, so you weren't going to attempt any advances and risk embarrassing yourself.
You'd keep your desires private.
At least, that was your intent.
At first Yondu doesn't realize what he's smelling when he's around you. He thought maybe it was the soap you use.
It wasn't an unpleasant smell, but he did find it odd that Kraglin couldn't smell it at all, and the fact that some days he wouldn't smell it on you right away. Some days when you'd show up for duty he wouldn't smell it at all, but then as the day went on he'd start noticing it more the longer the two of you were together, and sometimes the smell would disappear on its own, sometimes after you excused yourself for a toilet break, but also sometimes seemingly out of nowhere.
It took him a while to realize that the smell would get stronger when he's teasingly flirt with you, and it was about then he started to suspect what it was.
Could he really be smelling your... arousal?
The realization both surprised and delighted him. He didn't know why he was the only one who could smell it, but he brushed it off as maybe being just a happy evolutionary accident that centaurians could smell Terran arousal, seeing as none of the rest of the crew seemed able to smell it. He wondered though, if correct, if your state of arousal might actually be directed at him?
He decides to keep this discovery to himself, just until he's sure. He isn't fully sure what he plans to do with the information when and if he is sure, but he has a couple ideas.
He starts putting you on more jobs with him, giving himself more time with you to tease and flirt with you, and it confirms his suspicions.
With every tease, with every touch, the smell of your arousal gets stronger, and the blush you try to hide on your cheeks only confirms it.
He decides to have some fun. Obviously, being captain, he can control your schedule. He keeps you busy, giving you tasks that require you to be near him, and he takes every chance he gets to make you flustered, but doesn't give you much free time to... *ahem* "take care of" that frustration.
This turns out to be near torture for you. Over several days of working with Yondu you almost thought he was trying his damnedest to turn you on.
You'd be correct, but you didn't know that.
Somehow he could find the time to tease and flirt with you and make you secretly needy between the legs, but you couldn't find the time to relieve that tension. You couldn't do it on a bathroom or lunch break, because you really only had enough time to do what you needed and get back to work with the tasks you were assigned.
You did make one attempt at an attempt, however. You thought maybe you could steal yourself away in a closet and take care of it. Unfortunately Kraglin opened that same closet to retrieve something shortly after you entered. Luckily you hadn't even opened your pants to get started yet, but the close call prevented you from trying again, and had the merciful side effect of cooling your loins for a bit.
You also couldn't find relief before sleep or upon waking because you were so tired after working you'd fall asleep the second your head would hit the pillow, and you had to get ready for work the second you woke up.
Needless to say, you had a tightly wound coil and nowhere to spring it, and Yondu wasn't helping.
After a couple days of this Yondu then schedules you to go on a job alone with him. The two of you will be leaving early on his M-ship for a far off-planet that will take at least a couple days to reach.
As soon as you're informed you are hit with conflicting emotions. A fluttering in your heart, and an internal sense of dread as you realized that this meant more of the same torture, if not worse. You knew you'd likely spend the whole trip horny and too nervous to actually do anything about it.
When you take off it's just you and him. Alone on the M-ship. And he makes sure to take any moment he can to make you blush. Flirting, teasing, anything to make your heart flutter and your center wet.
It's only just after the middle of a day cycle on the first day when your smell tells Yondu that you're already horny as hell, and he decides to see how far he can take it.
He sets the auto pilot and walks up behind you while you're looking over some plans. He places his hands on your shoulders and grins when you tense up the moment he presses his thumbs into your trap muscles and asks if everything looks do-able.
You stammer out a yes, knowing that he's not really asking if the plans are feasible, but rather if you feel confident in that you can do your job, and the answer to that question must always be yes. Regardless of that, though, has he always been this good with his hands? He wasn't exactly giving you a full shoulder rub, but it still felt amazing.
Yondu grins. He can feel you relax under his touch and pretends to be suddenly fascinated with, "how soft ya Terrans hair is." His fingers trail up your neck and into your hairline, making you shudder and the smell of your arousal that much more intoxicating to him.
As much as you want to just sit there and let him touch you, you know you need to find a reason to leave for your own sanity.
You go to stand and falter, but he catches you by the lower waist, near your hips, saying, "Easy there. Don't need ya injured before we even get to the job now."
You let out a half-laugh and try to stammer out something witty, but it doesn't come out right and you feel he can tell how flustered he's making you.
You'd be right.
Yondu grins, and responds with a remark asking if he should hold onto you for safe-keeping until you land. You almost think you can feel him grip you a little tighter and you can't help but lean into his touch, praying he doesn't notice.
He does.
He allows his fingertips to slip just into the waistband of your trousers, testing the waters.
Your breath catches in your throat, but you don't say anything. Part of you is convinced it was an accident, but that doesn't stop the dirty thoughts racing though your mind.
Yondu grins behind you, moving one hand forward toward your stomach slowly.
"S-Sir?" you stammer. You were certain this was deliberate now. Were you dreaming? Reflexively you lean further into him. You couldn't help it. You desperately wanted him to keep touching you.
Yondu takes this as a sign to continue. "Something wrong?" he asks, slipping his hand slowly down the front of your pants to cup your sex. "Yer feelin' a little... wet, there..." He lets out a slight chuckle when you twitch.
"I- I-" you start, heat creeping into your face as you cut yourself off in an attempt not to moan as his middle finger begins to make slow circles over your clit. Dear god, you didn't know how you got here, but you needed this so bad.
Yondu chuckles, noticing you lightly squirm. "Funniest thing I recently realized... took me a while to figure out what it was, but when yer all hot and bothered... I can smell it."
You shuddered against the amazing feeling between your legs, despite your face turning bright red. "That- that's not possible..." you manage to get out without moaning. He could smell when you were turned on!? The thought was both impossible and mortifying at the same time. Did this mean he knew every time he turned you on? Oh god, did he suspect why you took so many toilet breaks now? Could he honestly smell when you were horny? That was impossible, right?
"Maybe for you," he laughs, "but not fer me, apparently." He rubbing more purposefully now, making you buck your hips once before you manage to control yourself again. "But if I'm wrong... I can always stop..." he grins, "Just gotta say the word."
Your thighs twitch. You didn't want him to stop. You had been fantasizing about this for weeks. You had been desperately horny for him for days now without relief. It felt so, so good. You needed this so bad. "P-Please..." you stammer.
"Please, what, darlin?" he asked, not stopping in his motions and reveling in how you shuddered in his grasp.
"Please... Please..." you gasp, you can feel yourself getting close. "Please don't stop."
You can feel the rumble of his laughter on your back and your hips begin to roll in the waves of your pleasure when he slipped a finger inside you and continued rubbing your clit with the heel of his hand. "That's what I thought, darlin.' Ya should have just said somethin'. Would've been happy to oblige."
Your breath quickens and you can only answer back, "Oh- Oh please... Sir... please... ohh god... please..." as you feel a familiar pressure tightening in your core. Fuck, this was amazing.
"Say my name, girl, and tell me what you want." he says, adding another finger inside you and grinning as you whimper and moan when he finds your spot.
Your hips roll of their own accord, the delicious feeling washing over you. "Please... Yondu... so close- I'm so close!"
Yondu chuckles, saying, "Tell me what ya need, sweetheart." He can feel you shudder with every stroke, and he massages your hip with his other hand. The way your body reacted to his touch was beautiful, he could watch you squirm like this all day.
"Oh! Oh please, Yondu! Please make me come!" you gasp out, pleasure coursing through your body as you squirm against him, so close and so desperate to cum.
"That's it. That's what I needed to hear." Yondu teases as he picks up his pace.
You can no longer hold back your cries of pleasure as he hits your spot over and over along with your clit. Your hips buck of their own accord and your hand grabs the arm massaging your hip just for something to ground you as your orgasm hits and you quiver though the crashing waves.
Yondu continues stroking until you come down and relax back against him, panting. Only then does he pull his hand from your most sensitive area, lightly scratching your lower tummy once his hand his free just to tease you and laughing as your hand swats his away.
"I'd ask if that was good fer you, but the way you were shaking tells me all I gotta know, sugar," he teased.
You turn to face him, blush still over your cheeks as you smiled in post-orgasmic bliss and said, "Well I believe I should return the favor now," reaching a hand to stroke over his hard length through his pants. You knew you were being bold, but after what he had just done, you figured turnabout was fair play.
Yondu grinned at you, grabbing your ass and lifting you to sit on the table and making you gasp in surprise. "Well, darlin, something tells me you're ready to go again already."
He was right, and you had never enjoyed traveling to a job more.

I’ll Still Love You (Yondu x Reader)
Tumblr ate two of my anonymous requests tonight. >.> Luckily I keep a copy of the requests in the document I use for my fics so I still have them, but it would be nice to be able to actually answer them properly.
Anyway, thank you to the two lovely anons who requested these! I apologize that it’s taken so long to write this, and since the requests were kinda similar, I decided to just write one for both. :)
Anon # 1: I know you are probably not taking requests lol and that ok It just an idea I had and am way to self conscious to write it myself and I couldn't think of someone else to tell it to because your Yondu works are so amazing! So Yondu and the reader is in love with him he doesn't know yet (or has been with him for some time) but she kept secret that she is part kree in fear that he would hate her and kick her off the ship But he finds out due to her getting hurt and bleeding blue How would he react?
Anon #2: Are you still taking The Kiss Prompt request?! If so is it okay I request a number 11. "Are you sure iit's ok and the other kisses them. With Yundo and female reader, where she kept a secret from him of her being half kree because she was afraid he would hate her and or kick her out of the crew?
Tagged List: @rooker-character-fics @bigbandbombshell @misfitgirlwrites @posessedxparrot
Warnings: None, really. A teensy bit of angst.
You were sitting in the control room waiting for Yondu to get back. He’d left to go deal with an issue with one of the other crew members, and you looked around the room as you waited, your attention caught by his trinkets. You smiled to yourself as you picked one up to examine it more closely.
You loved that he was a tough Ravager, but you also loved that he liked something as simple as his trinkets. Your smile faded a little when you thought about what you were here to tell him. You placed the trinket back in its place and covered your face with your hands, leaning back in your chair.
You’d been a part of his crew for over a year and had been in a relationship with him for a little over a month. You’d never been happier, but you had a secret that you were afraid would ruin everything. You didn’t want to tell him – damn, you didn’t want to tell him – but you knew you had to if you had any hope for the relationship to work. Keeping secrets from him wasn’t a good way to establish a steady foundation.
Your biggest fear was that he would end things with you, and you were so afraid that it might actually happen after he found out about you.
You heard his footsteps as he made his way back to the control room, and your leg began to bounce in nervousness.
“Hey, Darlin’!”
As nervous as you were, you couldn’t help but return his smile. “Hey, Yondu! How’d things go?”
He sat down in the Captain’s chair with a huff, then turned to you. “’Bout like I figured it would. Bunch a idiots.”
You smiled at him. “Think you’ll have any more problems with them?”
“Probably. But at least I took care a this problem.”
“Good.”
“Ya okay, darlin’? Yer leg’s bouncin’ faster’n a Orloni runnin’ from an Abilisk.”
“Oh, yeah, I’m okay.” You ducked your head, then felt Yondu lean over towards you.
“Ya sure ‘bout that?”
“Actually, I… I need to talk to you about something. I need to tell you something.”
“Oh. Somethin’ bad?”
“I just… I don’t know how you’ll take it.”
“Jus’ tell me, darlin’. I ain’t big on beatin’ ‘round tha bush.”
“I… I know. Okay.” You took a deep breath to try to calm yourself, then continued, “I should have told you a long time ago, but I didn’t know about… about your past when I joined the crew. I didn’t know my… didn’t know what I was might be a problem for you.”
Yondu was looking at you with concern, and you had to look back at your hands in order to keep talking.
“Before I tell you, I just want you to know that I… I love you, and I hope this doesn’t change anything between us. But… but I’ll understand if it does.”
You felt a tear leak down your face and fall onto your hands, then Yondu’s hand covered yours.
“Yer scarin’ me, darlin’. I promise there ain’t nothin’ ya can tell me that’d make me wanna change anythin’ ‘tween us.”
You shook your head and felt another tear leak down your face.
“I’m… I mean, my father was… he was Kree. My mother was from Xandar. I didn’t… didn’t really know them. They died, you know, when I was little, but I remember him being so kind to me.” You gave a small smile and wiped a tear from your cheek. “But I know… I know about your past now, and what the Kree did to you. I understand if...if me being a part of the people who did that to you means you can’t be with me.”
You sniffled to try to stop the tears from flowing as you waited for Yondu’s reaction.
“Lookit me, darlin’.”
You did as he asked and were surprised by the look on his face. You’d been expecting revulsion, hatred, anything but the look of pure love on his face.
“Darlin’, ya didn’t have nothin’ ta do with what happened ta me. Ya bein’ part Kree don’t change nothin’ ‘bout tha way I feel about ya.”
He leaned forward and cupped your cheeks in his hands, then kissed you.
He rested his forehead against yours as he wiped away your tears. “I’m glad ya told me, darlin’. Don’t want no secrets ‘tween us. But you ain’t gotta worry ‘bout me changin’ my mind, ya hear me? I don’t care if yer part Kree or all Kree. I love ya.”
You smiled through your tears. “I love you too, Yondu.”
He kissed you again and you wrapped your arms around him, holding him close.

Like Father, Like Daughter
I’m sorry! 😩 I promise this is the last thing I write about Yondu and reader’s kids (I can’t stop myself). I was daydreaming at work the other day and this is what came out.
This takes place a few years after “Three,” so the twins are around five, and the oldest boy is like ten.
No warnings, this is just a short thing about Yondu watching his kids while you’re out one day.
Underneath the metal framework of his M-ship, Yondu felt a familiar tug on his leg where his pants tucked into his boots.
“Just a sec,” he called, needing to tighten the last bolt into place.
“Daddy,” a soft voice whimpered, and Yondu felt his heart clench. Rolling out from underneath the spaceship, he sat up to meet the face of his daughter. Tiny, dark blue freckles, scattered across the bridge of her nose, were prominent under the Xandarian sunlight, and her crimson eyes were swollen with tears, allowing the little flecks of yellow in them to be seen.
“What s’matter baby?” he questioned, his brows furrowing while he set down the large wrench he was using. Sniffling her nose, his daughter let out a sob, unable to get her words out, and placed her hands in front of her face.
“Sweetheart,” his raspy voice drawled as he scooped her tiny body in his lap. “Take a breath.”
Her little arms wrapped around his neck and her head rested on his shoulder as she gasped in and let out a shaky breath. Yondu ran his hand soothingly up and down her back. His daughter was a tough little one, rarely did she come running in tears.
She’s just like you, your voice ran through his head. Tough exterior, but when she feels something, she feels it tenfold.
Yondu shook his head as your voice still lingered in his mind. You were always right.
His little girl didn’t usually let things bother her, but when something got under her skin, her emotions took over. After a few minutes, she started tinkering with the buckles on his shirt, and Yondu waited until she was ready to talk.
“Baby girl, whats wrong, hmm?” he finally asked her.
“The...the boys won’t let me have a turn with the arrow!” she managed to squeak out before her emotions got the better of her again, and tears leaked down her flushed cheeks. Her face burrowing back into the crook of Yondu’s neck.
“Mmm, and why’s that?” he asked her.
“They said I don’t get a turn cause… cause I’m the baby!” she sniffed.
He lifted his daughter’s head, kissing her forehead and wiping the tears off her face. Yondu loved all of his kids, his boys reminding him of when he was young. But he couldn’t deny his daughter held a special place in his heart. His only girl and his youngest child, she had Yondu wrapped around her finger the moment she entered his world.
Yondu got her standing on her feet, which were bare in the wild grass that grew around your small cottage and called her name.
“I’s don’t wantcha shedding anymore tears ‘bout what them boys say,” he told her, lifting her small chin so that she looked him in the eyes. “Ya just as good as them.” Yondu peered his head around, making sure no one was listening. “In fact, I’s think ya may even be better!” He flashed his crooked teeth at her, making his daughter giggle.
“Should we go see what them boys are up to?” he asked. She nodded her head, wiping the last of her of tears off her face, and grabbing Yondu’s hand. Walking the short distance down to the entrance of the wooded area, Yondu saw his boys near a large tree. The gangly limbs of his oldest, now ten, were reaching for Yondu’s yaka arrow embedded in the tree. A picture of an Abilisk projected on the chipped bark, and his younger son stood a good seven yards away from the target. The oldest had just gotten the arrow loose from the tree when a sharp whistle sounded, the arrow flying from his hands, across the open field, and into Yondu’s grip. Both boys looked at each other and then turned around to face their father.
“Boys, git over here!” Yondu called out, motioning them to come forward with the hand holding his arrow. They lined up in front of him, and Yondu watched as they exchanged glances.
“What’s this I hear ya ain’t letting ya sister have a turn?” He lifted an eyebrow at them.
“Cause she’s the baby!” the younger one said. Yondu’s face turned to his son who looked just like his mother. Hardly any Centaurian showed physically on him, but he had Yondu’s eyes.
“Only by fifteen minutes!” his little girl yelled back, finding her tenacity again. Her twin stuck his tongue out at her and she followed right back, sticking her own blue tongue out. Yondu shook his head. Most of the time the twins could behave themselves, but it always seemed like on the days you went out, they unleashed all their tiny rage on each other, leaving him to handle it. Yondu walked up to his first born son, staring into his eyes, the same color as his Mama’s, and asked him why they didn’t include their sister.
“Because we was playing target before she came and found us,” he said. “Just us two.” Yondu nodded his head, listening to his oldest son’s explanation.
“Uh huh,” he started. “But is target only a two person game?”
“No, sir.” His boy lowered his head, knowing he should have included his sister. Yondu leaned down and put a hand on his son’s shoulder.
“Listen son,” he said. “I knows ya just want ta play with your brother sometimes, but ya gotta include ya sister sometimes too. She just wants ta play with ya. Just like how ya always want to be with Peter when he visits. Ya understand?” His son nodded his head.
“Yes, sir. I’m sorry” he said looking up at the towering figure of his father.
“I appreciate that,” Yondu said leaning back up. “But I ain’t the one ya gotta apologize to.” He nodded his head back towards his daughter, and his son sighed before walking towards his sister. Yondu looked over at his other son, picking at the tall grass, and glared his eyes at him.
“Shouldn’t ya be going with your brother?” he gruffed.
“Yes, sir!”
His son took off towards his siblings. Yondu stared out into the mass of trees around the property and sighed. Over the years, he found not much difference between kids and Ravagers. Both always needing someone to settle the little arguments that came up between them. He turned back around, watching his three kids talking to each other again. If there was one difference between the two though, it was that his kids were much easier to forgive and move on. He walked back up the slight hill they were on and whistled for their attention.
“Alright, ya two are gonna go down by the tree and retrieve the arrow for ya sister,” Yondu told his boys. They scurried down the hill, following their father’s orders and waited. Yondu bent down towards his daughter, his hand holding the arrow in front of her. Seeing the metal shining in the sunlight, a small smile formed on her face.
“Okay baby, ready whenever ya are,” Yondu told her. She nodded her head and took a breath. The arrow rose from Yondu’s hand as his daughter began a soft tune. She had one of the most beautiful whistles he had ever heard. It was light, airy, and it seemed to take her little effort to get the arrow up in the air, unlike her eldest brother who used to have a little more trouble starting off. She was able to change notes fluidly, the direction of the arrow following her command.
Yondu loved watching his daughter control the arrow. His boys were only interested in the sharp, quick notes that led to fast kill shots, while his daughter had a knack for the art of distraction. She loved watching the arrow fly through the air, leaving a trail of red sparks in its wake. Yondu taught her how to make shapes, send the arrow as high as she could, and drawing in an audience. She did just that now, sending the arrow up past the tree lines. The boys lifted their heads, cupping their eyes to try and see the arrow in the sunlight. When she noticed everyone looking up, she let out a quick, sharp note, and the arrow plummeted down and into the head of the Abilisk on the tree in less than a few seconds. Yondu let out a chuckle, looking over at his daughter, who was smirking herself. The boys tried to grab the arrow, but couldn’t reach how high it was.
“Lucky shot!” her twin called out. Yondu’s daughter’s eyes slit at her brother’s statement. Yondu went down to the tree to grab the arrow embedded in the trunk and jogged back up to his daughter. An idea had popped in his head. Bending down he whispered in her ear.
“Ya remember what I taught ya couple weeks ago?” he asked. Looking into her red eyes, he watched them spark to life when she figured out what he was talking about. She started giggling and told him yes.
“Shh shh,” Yondu quieted her down so that the boys didn’t suspect anything. “We gonna scare ya brothers real good!”
“Ay boys, git back to ya spots!” Yondu barked at them. Both boys took their place next to the tree, ready to grab the arrow when it landed.
“Ya ready?” Yondu patted her shoulder.
“Uh huh,” she smiled, waiting for him to put the arrow in front of her. Yondu held his hand out and she began to whistle, lifting the arrow in the air. His daughter let it travel around for a bit, keeping her whistle a steady tone. Her eyes peered over to Yondu, waiting for his signal. He flashed his toothy grin and nodded his head. His daughter returned her gaze back to the arrow and released a trill of high pitched whistles back to back. The arrow took off at lightning speed, greater than anything the boys ever managed to produce, and engulfed in flames as it headed straight for the tree.
“Ahhh!!!” both boys yelled as the flaming arrow narrowed in on them. They flung themselves behind the large tree, right before the arrow landed with a thud.
“I did it!” she screamed, jumping up and down.
“That’s mah girl!” Yondu cheered, catching her in his arms and laughing.

(Another holiday bingo fic featuring Yondu and Athena (my OC from my upcoming Yondu fic, Be Good to Me.)
_
After searching for Yondu all over the Eclector, Athena finally called him on her wrist communicator.
He answered after a few seconds, his face appearing on her holoscreen. “Hey, darlin’!”
“Hey, Yondu! Where are you?”
“Jus’ runnin’ a few errands.”
“Errands?”
“Yeah.”
She could see people rushing around in the background on the holopad. “What kind of errands?”
“Can’t tell ya that, Athena.”
He grinned and Athena felt a mild wave of concern. “Why can’t you tell me?”
“Jus’ can’t.”
“You aren’t planning to do any… jobs or anything tonight, are you? Because you promised we’d sit by the tree, drink hot cocoa, and open presents since it’s Christmas Eve on Terra tonight, and we won’t have time for that if I have to get you out of jail.”
Yondu laughed. “Nah, ain’t gonna do no jobs today, I promise. I’ll be back ‘fore ya know it.”
“Okay, I’ll see you soon. Please be careful and don’t get arrested.”
“Ya got it, darlin’.”
Athena disconnected the call, still a little concerned about whatever Yondu was up to that he felt he had to hide. Deciding not to worry about it for the moment, she busied herself with wrapping Yondu’s gifts.
_
Yondu had been at the mall on Terra for four hours, and he was getting more discouraged by the minute. He’d been trying to think of the perfect gift for Athena ever since she’d first asked him if they could celebrate Christmas, and he’d yet to come up with anything.
He thought he might find inspiration by walking around the Terran mall, but he was wrong.
He entered another store but left almost immediately after a cursory glance. He looked at his communicator and realized it was later than he’d realized. Sighing heavily, he thought it would be better to go back to the Eclector empty-handed than to be late for spending Christmas Eve with Athena. With a heavy heart, he left the crowded mall and headed to his M-ship.
_
After putting the bow on Yondu’s gift and making sure it was centered just so, she set it under the tree and admired her handiwork. She was more excited than she would have cared to admit to most people at the thought of cuddling next to the tree with Yondu later. He’d sent the crew to Contraxia for the night, which meant there would be no interruptions as they cuddled under a blanket with their hot cocoa, the twinkling lights on the tree the only source of light in the common room.
She grinned and bit her lip as she heard Yondu’s footsteps coming nearer, almost clapping her hands in excitement as she met him at the door. Her smile faltered a little at his grim look, but he hurriedly put a smile on his face for her.
“Hey, darlin’.”
“What’s wrong, Yondu?”
He sighed and pulled her in for a hug, and she wrapped her arms around his waist. He kissed the top of her head, then said, “Got bad news.”
She leaned back so she could see his face. “What kind of bad news?”
He shook his head slightly and pulled her by the hand to the couch. He sank down heavily but pulled her gently down beside him. “Couldn’t find ya a present.”
Her brows constricted. “That’s okay, Yondu.”
“I tried thinkin’ of somethin’ good ta get ya. Wanted it ta be perfect.” He shook his head ruefully and looked away from her. “Don’t know why I bothered. I ain’t good at this kinda stuff. An’ there ain’t nothin’ good enough fer ya, anyway. Ya deserve tha very best an’ I jus’ can’t give ya that.”
Athena’s eyes filled with tears, and she grabbed his hand, squeezing it.
“You didn’t need to get me anything, Yondu. Gifts aren’t what’s important, and I don’t want you to be upset about it!”
She lifted her free hand and gently turned Yondu’s face so he had no choice but to meet her eyes.
“And anyway, you’ve already given me the perfect gift.”
He looked confused “What?”
She smiled at him softly, her cheeks flushed slightly, and her eyes sparkling with unshed tears. “You. All I want for Christmas is you, Yondu.”
Yondu smiled, but still looked skeptical. “Ya don’t want nothin’ else?”
“No.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned closer to him. “Just you.”
He returned her embrace, pulling her onto his lap, and Athena pressed a soft kiss to his lips before whispering, “Merry Christmas, Yondu.”
“Merry Christmas, Athena.” He gazed into her eyes for just a moment before kissing her again.

:) would I also be able to request “come sit on Santa’s lap” with Yondu please.
Thank you for your request, @springylemur! I hope you like it! :)
Warnings: A little implied sex.
Tagged List: @rooker-character-fics @trashpandaorigins (I’m not going to use my normal tagged list for these, so if you’d like to be added to my temporary tagged list for this holiday bingo, just let me know!)
Masterlist | AO3 (Click here to read the previous holiday bingo fics on AO3.)
A few weeks after you’d told Yondu about some of your favorite childhood Terran Christmas traditions, you walked into the Eclector’s common room to find Yondu dressed as Santa Claus, hanging up sprigs of mistletoe. There was a small tree in the corner, a box of decorations sitting beside it, and red and gold tinsel draped around the room. Glittering paper snowflakes were hanging from the ceiling, and it took a few moments for you to find your voice.
“What’s all this, Yondu?”
He turned from hanging a piece of mistletoe. “It’s Christmas! How’s it look, darlin’?”
“It looks great, but why are you dressed like Santa?”
“’Cause ya said ya liked Santa when ya’s little, an’ I’s tryin’ ta recreate tha whole thing fer ya.”
You smiled and crossed the room to stand in front of him. “Thank you, Yondu, it’s perfect.”
His grin widened. “Glad ya like it. Ever’body else should be here soon. Got ‘em finishin’ up some stuff.”
You placed your hands on his hips. “What kind of stuff?”
“Some Terran food, yer presents, an’ Quill’s s’posed ta get some Christmas music ta play. Ya weren’t really s’posed ta find me so soon. I’s gonna surprise ya when it was all ready.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, Yondu! I didn’t mean to ruin your surprise. I didn’t even know there was a surprise! But I still love it!”
You leaned up onto your tiptoes to kiss him, and he wrapped his arms around your waist.
“I’m glad ya like it.”
He kissed you again, only pulling away when the sound of footsteps echoed down the hall.
“Sounds like your elves are on their way.”
He laughed. “Sounds like it.”
Peter, Kraglin, Rocket, and Groot walked into the room, talking loudly and dropping boxes. Groot was also dressed as Santa, albeit a much smaller version.
“Groot, you’re adorable!” You turned to Yondu. “Where did you find such a tiny Santa costume?”
“In one of tha store displays on Terra.”
“They were for sale?”
“Nope. I distracted tha salespeople while Kraglin snuck into tha display an’ got it.” He ignored your look of dismay and called out, “Hey, Quill, ya get tha music situation figured out?”
“Yep, I’m hooking it up now.”
“Where’s tha food?”
“Drax was working on it when I left.”
“Drax? I told ya ta let Gamora do it! At least she’d be able ta follow tha directions. No tellin’ what Drax’ll come up with.”
You placed a hand on Yondu’s arm. “I’m sure it will be fine.” Although, to be honest, you’d much rather Gamora be the one to handle the meal, as well.
Peter finally managed to get the music started and the room was filled with the sounds of Christmas songs and laughter. You helped Yondu decorate the tree as Kraglin piled presents around it. Groot, beside himself with excitement, tried to help decorate, but spent most of the time hopping around and yelling, “I am Groot!”
Gamora, Nebula, Mantis, and Drax joined the group a little later, all bearing trays of food, which looked mostly Terran.
Later, after everyone had eaten and gathered around the tree to unwrap presents, Yondu grabbed your hand as you walked past him.
“Hey, darlin’, why don’t ya come sit on Santa’s lap?”
Laughing, you sat down and wrapped your arms around his neck.
“What’cha want fer Christmas this year?”
“I already have everything I want.”
“Surely there’s somethin’ else ol’ Santa can give ya.”
You smirked slightly then leaned over to whisper in his ear. Yondu’s eyes widened slightly and he grinned at you as you leaned back again.
“Reckon that’s a gift I can give ya when we get back ta our quarters after this lil’ party.”
You blushed as Yondu chuckled.
You hadn’t realized Mantis was sitting so close until she clapped her hands, and asked, “Oh, what gift will you give her?”
You felt your face burn and yelled, “Nothing!” as Yondu laughed loud enough to cause everyone else in the room to turn and stare at him.

Oh oh oh! You NEED to do RavagerQueen for "I can't reach to put the star on top of the tree"!!!
*squeals* Thank you so much for requesting this, darling!! You completely made my day!! 😍😃💖
A/N: Sometimes I forget that @bigbandbombshell and I are the only ones familiar with the term RavagerQueen, but I think this is a good time to finally make an announcement about something I’ve been kinda keeping secret for months now. I have a new Yondu fic that I’m planning to start sharing in 2020, featuring my OC, Athena! It’s called Be Good to Me and it’s 48,000 words, which is far longer than any other story I’ve written, and I can’t wait to share it! Consider this a sneak-peek into Yondu and Athena’s relationship. :)
Warnings: None.
Tagged List: @trashpandaorigins @rooker-character-fics (I’m not going to use my normal tagged list for these, so if you’d like to be added to my temporary tagged list for this holiday bingo, just let me know!)
“Yondu?” asked Athena, sticking her head around the door to the control room, where Yondu was sitting as he worked out some details about his next job.
“Yeah, darlin’?”
“Can we go get a Christmas tree?”
He turned around to look at her. “A Christmas tree?”
Athena smiled. “Yeah.”
“Where we gonna get one a those?”
“Terra.”
“Ya wanna go all tha way ta Terra ta get a tree? Them Christmas trees don’t grow nowhere else?” He didn’t give her a chance to answer. “Nah, guess they don’t. Ain’t never seen any trees with them shiny things on ‘em, ‘cept on Terra.”
Athena stifled a laugh. “They don’t grow with the decorations already on them!”
Yondu’s eyes widened slightly for just a moment. “I’m gonna kill Quill! He always said they grow that way!”
She couldn’t help her laughter at his indignation. “He was just teasing you, they don’t grow that way. You get a tree and then decorate it yourself.” She walked into the room and sat in the co-pilot’s chair. “So, what do you say?”
“Yeah, reckon we can go down an’ get’cha a Christmas tree tomorrow.”
Athena leaned over and kissed him. “Thank you!”
Yondu grinned. “’Course, darlin’.”
“Ya sure we need all these dec’rations fer one tree?” Yondu asked as he brought in the last box of decorations they’d purchased on Terra.
“Yes!” Athena was sitting cross-legged on the floor next to the tree, already opening one of the boxes.
Yondu shook his head slightly. “Seems like an awful lot fer one tree.”
“It’s going to look great, trust me.”
Yondu set the box with the others, then sat next to Athena as she looked through the decorations.
“Aren’t these gorgeous?” She held up two ornaments for him to see.
“Yeah, reckon so. Ain’t as gorgeous as you, though.”
She blushed and leaned over to kiss his cheek, then placed the ornaments back in the box. “Flattery won’t get you out of helping me decorate.”
“Wouldn’t dream of tryin’ ta get out of it.”
“Good.” Smiling, she stood and held out a hand to help him up, then picked up some tinsel, which she loosely wrapped around his neck so she could pull him down to kiss his lips. “I’ve already put the lights on the tree, so you can wrap the tinsel around it.”
“Got it.”
He tossed the tinsel onto the tree then turned back to face Athena, who had her back to him as she picked up a couple of ornaments out of a box.
“Wha’dya think, darlin’?”
She turned and stared, wide-eyed, at the tinsel bunched up and hanging off one side of the tree. “What is that?”
He shrugged. “Tinsel?”
“You have to drape it gracefully all around the tree, not just in one spot.”
“Oh.”
She took the tinsel off the tree and began to drape it around the front. “Like this, see?”
“Oh, yeah. That looks much better. Yer good at this stuff.”
“Thank you!” She beamed and kissed his cheek as she passed him on her way back to the box of decorations. “Now we just need to hang the ornaments.”
Yondu picked one up and examined it. “Any particular spot on tha tree where ya want ‘em?”
“Nope, just wherever you think it looks nice.”
They spent a happy hour decorating the tree, laughing and, occasionally, kissing. Finally, Athena stood back to admire their handiwork.
“It looks beautiful!”
“Sure does.”
She missed the soft look he gave her as she turned back to the almost-empty boxes. “Oh! I almost forgot to put the star on top!”
She removed it from the box, then practically skipped back to the tree, beaming at Yondu as she passed him. She reached up as high as she could, standing on her tip-toes, almost tipping into the tree in her struggle. Yondu grabbed her around the waist to keep her from knocking the tree over.
“I can’t reach to put the star on top of the tree!”
“I got it, darlin’.”
But instead of taking the star from her, he picked her up and lifted her so she could reach the top herself.
After she placed the star, he gently lowered her back to the floor, but didn’t remove his arms. She turned in his arms and wrapped her own around his neck.
“Thanks,” she told him, smiling softly.
“My pleasure, darlin’.”
She kissed him, briefly, then said, “I love you, Yondu.”
“I love ya, too, ‘Thena.”
Their next kiss was not so brief, and it was quite a while before they remembered to admire the effect of the star on top of the tree.
