My sibling DEMANDED i explain the context for this one so. Here i fucking go i guess. (under the cut)

First off i was drawing a cosmic brownie in jsrf graffiti editor. (Why a cosmic brownie? Long story i have a history with them.) I was having a very bad time and getting really perfectionist with it. I slowly went insane and requested Rainbow Road be the soundtrack to my insanity.

I put blood on it at the end because i was just that hateful. We kept claiming Yoyo was posessed by malevolent spirits (us).

Why did i even put this under the cut? I dont know i thought it would be longer than this. Maybe when we get our xbox working again ill edit this with a photo of the graffiti in question

Had a Jet Set based dream.

Sometimes it felt like I was watching from a distance, but then other times I was there with Yoyo, Beat, and Gum. Corn was there, like, twice, and his outfit change between appearances.

Speaking of outfits:

☆ Beat's was similar to his Future fit, but the shirt was more of like, an acidic sort of green.

☆ Gum's was similar to her original fit, but the green was replaced with the same green that Beat had.

☆ Unfortunately, all I remember for Yoyo is that he was wearing a hoodie--I don't even remember if the hood was up (like the original) or down--in the same color as Beat and Gum.

☆ The first time Corn was around, he was wearing pants (not a jumpsuit), and a shirt kind of like Future Garam, but in the same color as the others, and without a hat. The second time, it was just his Future outfit.

Aside from that, there was a bit where Beat, Gum, and Yoyo were going through the city, and it was more like I was viewing from a distance.

Then there was this platforming bit, and there was a weird switch from the characters being themselves to the characters playing themselves in a video game? Beat, Gum, and I were teasing Yoyo a bit because he kept dying.

Past that, it was back to the characters being themselves and inside a building. Corn (in his first outfit) was also there. I was more of an onlooker, and they were talking about splitting into pairs and going different directions--Beat and Corn, and Gum and Yoyo. Also worth noting is that Yoyo had a Greg-Cipes-esque voice. (This has me thinking that it might be cool if the characters had fully voiced lines in the new game.)

After that, I don't really remember much, except that Corn made his second appearance (in his Future style) in a different platforming area.

Pretty neat, I think.

Definitely has me thinking about Future, listening to the soundtrack, and excited for the new game.

I don't really want to reblog your post saying this because I feel like that could be annoying but I've gotten a lot into gacha games (specifically Bang Dream, Project Sekai, D4DJ, Blue Archive, and now Zenless Zone Zero, in that order) as a 25 year old plural trans failgirl and despite enjoying them I know they are bad for me and it is my policy to not recommend them

and basically every time I find myself posting gushing over their stories or whatever I feel the need to asterisk myself with "this is a gacha game so I'm not really recommending you check it out". And like, I don't know, I feel like I should say it and it's necessary but it also feels a little tedious I guess. Like, everyone who I follow and who follows me knows this already so aah. But also then again I thought I already knew that the psychological manipulation and gambling was bad and etc and I still ended up getting super OCD over it and losing a lot of time and money to them and I would not wish this condition on anyone else. Which I guess is a more than good enough reason to continue the asterisking even if it's tedious in the same way it's tedious to say "content warning" or "spoilers for _____" or tag anything bothersome so people can filter it and sometimes you might forget to but you gotta do it anyway.

Anyway I uh. I do have like fifteen years of game playing experience prior to the gacha games where I played no gacha games. So if that counts for anything my favorite games of all time (and these are all non gacha singleplayer games) range from like,

Psychonauts (1 and 2), Milk Inside a Bag of Milk, Subahibi, killer7, Night in the Woods, VA-11 HALL-A, Tsui Yuri ~Okaa-san ni wa Naisho da yo~ (the incest yuri visual novel), Shadow the Hedgehog, if found..., Kindred Spirits on the Roof, Dishonored, Gunpoint, Jet Set Radio Future, and most importantly Senran Kagura (but not the gacha one), and many others but I'll just stop typing them now

Also I recently played the System Shock remake, which is kino and beautiful

Anyway I hope this confession is allowed. I really like your posts and your ask box has a very confessional vibe to me sometimes so I still feel compelled to it. Um, yeah. I guess, play those games. And not necessarily any gacha games. (Do that at your own risk, but also probably, really, seriously don't)

I've been trying to write a more formal essay on how gacha games can have good things in them but unfortunately still suck but ironically it hasn't yet come together because I've been distracted playing the gacha games. Hopefully I figure out that problem... Maybe with drugs or something (please)

Yeah, I don't think they are entirely bad (I still look at and reblog horny pictures from some of them often) but I wouldn't play one of those again even with full confidence that I won't fall into a gambling addiction because even putting morality and financial risk aside the very fact that they are trying to push players into it ends up worsening the rest of the game design.

Games these days (not even exclusively gacha) are sometimes deliberately made more tedious and inconvenient just for the sake of selling a solution to these invented problems. Paying to remove some arbitrary limitation or to skip a grind, for example.

The controversy around the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 contrasted with the original game highlights this very clearly. Things that used to just be a part of the game included by default are now things you have to either gamble for or play for an unreasonable amount of time to unlock. It really did not have to be that way, as demonstrated by the original game.

I think if you have been playing them and noticed all the issues it might be worth it to ask yourself if you're actually enjoying yourself on the net. Not just if the games have something in them that's worthwhile but if they are actually a fun way to pass your time. Is it play, or is it a chore you put up with to avoid falling behind or missing out on the things you do like? Would you be missing on much if you engaged with the story through youtube videos instead of playing the game yourself?

And if you do end up deciding you could be having more fun with something else, it's not like there's a shortage of other games, especially if you look into older games. Many of these are free or easy to emulate.

Looking at your list I think we have different tastes but if you enjoyed things like System Shock and Dishonored then you could maybe look into the first Deus Ex, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, or Arx Fatalis.

(Also this is a confessional now? I guess it gives people an excuse to picture me dressed up as one of those ero anime nuns even as I maximize blasphemy and apostasy.)

So Team Past won grandfest. Now what?

As we all know, Team Past won S3's finalfest and we all know what that means: the winning team will influence the next game in some way.

I've seen people get kinda disappointed by the fact past won but tbh I'm fine with them winning and I was on Team Future btw. The entire time I was kinda cheering on Team Past from while on Team Future. I just really wanted something different for the next game since I feel like if Team Present won maybe there won't be much of a change in the next game.

So... what do I think the next game is gonna look like? Well, since S3 was the end of the inkling v octoling arc so I really doubt we're getting Great Turf War stuff. I don't know what the story mode will look like but I do have a decent idea of how the game might look aesthetic wise (or at least this is what I hope the aesthetic is gonna be like). I see the next Splatoon game taking on a 2000s aesthetic.

We get some 2000s fashion, the music might take on 2000s pop, rock, and rap (or maybe something similar to the stuff in Jet Set Radio), and the idols I hope will be some sort of rock band (it's about damn time we get a rock band as the idols for a Splatoon game) (what I'd do for an MCR/the Killers inspired idol group; I mean come on TK has some major Splatoon idol group energy just watch the music vid for Somebody Told Me and then watch the Squid Sisters intro video you'll see what I mean).

But what about the 2 new weapon classes? Already on it!

Yo-yos! Basically they kinda work like splatanas but different! You can tap ZR to release the yoyo and the heavier bit of the yoyo will spin around for a bit before retracting. If you aren't immediately hit by the yoyo (this would be an insta kill), the ink that comes from the spinning heavy bit can still give you damage and if you're in the way of the heavy bit while retracting you'll also take damage. The standard version of the weapon is a yoyo, a heavy version would be a beyblade looking thing (it doesn't deal damage while retracting, takes longer to charge, and the spin goes on for a little bit longer), and a light version would be one of those sticky hands (no spin and retracts quickly; still does damage when retracting)

Roller blades! The roller blades could be things you can strap onto your character's footwear so you can still see your kicks. By default, while you skate you'll leave an inky trail sort of like an ink brush. However if you tap ZR, you can do a trick that will release more ink. Holding ZR will allow you to charge at enemies and spread ink. Not too sure what the variants would be.

And that's what I think/hope the next Splatoon will look like. I don't have much else to say about this but I really hope we get something neat for the next game!

I love that in jet set radio original Beat is the leader of the GG's and Yoyo wants to join but in future Yoyo is already a member

i imagine before Corn was leader they kicked Beat out for probably being a all around jerk or something with his bad attitude and now he wants to rejoin and that's why he wants to win against Corn so bad lol

but ALSO i always thought Beat and Yoyo were brothers and Yo is that little bro type that always wants to be doing what his bro is doing and thats how he got into skating and graffiti because he wants to be like Beat and Beat is kinda mean and always pushes him off cause he hasn't got his life all figured out or something so he's just mean and Yo's like "Thats just how he is, he doesn't mean it" and Yo being in the GG's while Beat gets kicked out makes Beat mad with Yo and they haven't really spoken with each other sense until he rejoins the GG's again (It's more on Beats part for ignoring his little bro cause he's pissy about getting kicked out even though it's his own fault)

I really wanted to buy a Yoyo cosplay from Jet Set Radio Future, but nowhere in my country I could not buy similar glasses, it's really a problem. I talked to all the people around me, and I found a cool dude who has a 3d printer, and he made me a model of the glasses himself. I'm so happy! Later I will paint them red and put in homemade lenses made of translucent black plastic.

Favorite shows: Invader Zim, Trigun 1998, azumanga daioh, Experiments Lain, Metalocalypse, jojo, South Park, flcl, mob psycho 100.

Least favorite shows: Future Diary, Gabriel DropOut (That's all I can think of at the moment).

Fandoms: ranfren, jet set radio, azumanga daioh, cry of fear, bomb rush cyberfunk, homestuck (I don't understand it that well).
