You'd think a furry animation inspired by 30-60's cartoons with a lot of fanservice would be popular here (for one reason or another)

It's barely 3 minutes long but I'm IN LOVE

with the animation style. Yeah

I wish I was in the mindspace to talk more about it bc this animation made me happier than I can say rn and it deserved a ramble but anyway

There's just something about seeing the old (obviously(?) Song of the south-inspired) Disney 2D animated style done SO WELL in this era that made me really happy and even so short it seems so cute and promising and all of it is SO WELL DONE

I would give anything for this to be longer but I'm so happy with what we got. I hope Piti Yindee and the team get to do more with it eventually

BOUN & KRIST: I JUST THINK THEY’RE NEAT

I judge a man’s character by how he treats women, and on that score, Boun and Krist get full marks.

Like, sometimes I see Thai actors at these fan benefits looking smug or impatient or bored with their predominantly female fans, and it makes me appreciate Krist and Boun so much more, because they’re so genuinely excited and sincere when they’re interacting with their fans.

It’s especially nice because both of them could easily coast on their respective popularity, and they’ve certainly been in the industry long enough that being jaded or standoffish would be perfectly human and understandable.

But.

Last year, I saw Krist spend three hours greeting fans on the second day of his five-hour solo concert showing pure enthusiasm and sincere joy the whole time, and Boun always has these bubbly, adorable reactions to fans teasing him or trying to match his energy. They don’t have to, but they choose to.

Also, tellingly, Krist and Boun are both incredibly sweet to and highly respectful of the women in their private circles, too. They don’t spend all their time only with men, which can be a teensy flash of red.

Boun’s always been close with the Wabi Sabi ladies like Sammy, Pineare, and Yindee (she was a staff member at SWS and one of Boun’s former roommates who passed away in early 2023), and he has female friends from university that he still spends time with.

Meanwhile, Krist’s friendly and comfortable with his current and former female costars—including Namtan, his former crush (and if that isn’t peak green flag, nothing is)—and he’s been adopted by every woman in the industry who’s been in the same room with him for ninety seconds or longer.

And of course, both of them are close to and openly proud of their mothers, who are both loving and supportive of their sons’ careers. :’)

The thing with celebrities is that, yes, they’re strangers and parasocial relationships with strangers can be harmful if you get too emotionally invested, but I just like recognizing when the strangers who do creative work I admire are also lovely in other ways.

I mean, liking and respecting women is below the bare minimum, but considering the world we live in, it’s nice to celebrate a win every now and then. \o/

NOTE: There are a ton of other women in their lives, I just ran out of photos I can post to tumblr on my phone and I wasn’t willing to cut down on the photos of them with their mothers because they’re stupid cute. That whole episode of Arm Share with Krist and his mother gave me terminal diabetes. He kept holding her hand—he adores her. And his relationship with his grandmother who raised him! Okay I’m done.

Years ago I started out drawing snatcher in his more canon form before beginning to imply different features that stood out to me more and liked better to his design. I would say to start out with character references first. The rest I'm sure you can figure out later; What works and what doesn't. You're unique preferences if you will. It takes some time.

As for the rest I've been inspired by golden age classic cartoons artists like Don Bluth, Chuck Jones, Hanna Barbera, Tex Avery, Walter Lantz, Max Fleischer, Richard Williams, etc... Disney, Warner Bros, and a pinch of anime. So many cartoons to name them all... I also take inspiration from Batim, Cuphead, Skullgirls, Lackadaisy, -Artists like Shen (bluechair comics), Vivziepop, Gooseworx, Piti Yindee, Hailey lain, Kittensneeze, Pastra, Qwerts, spineapples, StarsTaco, Telepurte, BeautySnake, Corax, Pastel Flurry Delak, João Pereira, kekeflipnote, Kosperry, Meanbeanzone, ... and so many others.. enough to make your head spin and of course my mutuals uwu (also i will be looking at your blog this is a threat/j)

but yeah look for works that inspire you! That match your vibe and sorta dissolve and meld into it

Chai was working behind a bar when he met Korn, who flirted with him and asked for his number. It was romantic and Chai felt like he could trust Korn, telling him about his life and how happy he was to have found someone to love - unfortunately for Chai, Korn did not possess the ability to love; only to hurt. A relationship of manipulation, gaslighting, and abuse lasted for a year and a half, until Chai broke it off with the help from his friends. Chai is still healing from that time in his life.

When a marriage is on the rocks, the solution is to communicate. Perhaps some marriage counselling, talking to professionals, trying to mend in a way that's healthy. If it doesn't work out then, that's fine too - people break apart. Not everyone gets their happy ending, even if they think they will. If working hard to save a marriage doesn't work, then maybe it's best to leave on amicable terms.

The solution is not, however, to have a baby.

Chai was brought into this world under these circumstances. His parents, Pawin and Yindee, met and married young, despite advice from their own families to wait until they were older. They rushed their relationship, severing ties with most of their loved ones for the sake of their own love, living in their own fairytale world where only they existed. That was until reality rudely came knocking on their door; expenses were piling up, and neither of them were able to sustain a well-paying job in the long term. Saving was hard, but spending was easy. Not only that but they had married young, having barely known each other before tying the knot, drunk on love and blind to the problems it might cause in the future. Like, how was Yindee supposed to know that Pawin would rather spend his money on drugs instead of food for their growling stomachs? How was Pawin supposed to be okay with Yindee flirting with her boyfriends when she was upset with him? Their relationship was toxic with shouting matches and tears almost every night. Whatever family they had that had not cut them out advised them to seek help or get divorced; but they didn't listen.

And Chai suffered.

The home he grew up in was not one of love. His parents' marriage wasn't saved by his birth - they would rather call it ruined. After about a year, the problems that they had put on hold returned full force. There was even less money now with an extra mouth to feed and extra body to clothe. Eventually, it did become too much and Chai's parents did divorce. He was 11 at the time.

They blamed him, for it. They blamed him for everything. Dad's drug problem? That was because Chai was too whiny and dad had to resort to other ways to relax. Mum flirting with another man? That's because she felt unsexy with her husband, because giving birth to Chai changed her body. No money? Ugh, Chai's school expenses, of course, they'd never have to pay for that if he wasn't born!

Neither one of his parents wanted to look after him - in fact, his father couldn't. Pawin died from a drug overdose, shortly after separating from his wife, and Yindee decided to start fresh in another country, finding another man to leech off of and convincing him to move with her to America. Pawin was thus raised by various relatives - though, they didn't really want him either. He was too much of a reminder of his deadbeat parents.

When Chai turned 18, he decided it was best to live alone, not wanting to continue being a burden on those who were forced to take him in. Because he couldn't afford university, he spent all his time working and earning money to support himself.

wait yatch, oreo and boun are roommates??? that's so cute wth

They are! Last I checked, anyway! There’s some cute videos floating around, like one of Oreo filming himself and then he calls to the house that it’s just started to rain, and then with perfect comedic timing Boun squawks and bolts onscreen and offscreen to rescue his drying laundry. He also gave a little tour when the three of them moved in. He has BounPrem posters in significant areas, and he’s very proud of them.

(He bought a new house recently though, so he may move out. Or just take his friends with him. 😂)

During UWMA filming, Boun also lived in a big house with Earth, New (director), Yindee (SWS staff), Sammy, and I think one other SWS staff. If you watch older videos and streams, you’ll see them hanging out or walking by in the background. Like when Prem had his IG account stolen, we found out he got it back because Boun went from room to room singing “TRIUMPH” or something like that at the top of his lungs while Yindee was just doing a casual live. You can see her smile and close her eyes, then open them and tell her viewers, “P’Boun.”

The more you learn about the beautiful chaos gremlin prince, the more impressive his composed, serious performance as Win becomes.
