The Lazarr region

Home to humans, Drakenfolk, and the Warren alike, the Lazarr region is a large continent that is split down the middle by the Spynel mountain range. On its eastern coast sits the enchanted forest of Mistern, and the west coast is home to the Yevren Sandsea and Oasis. In the north, past the Draken Chasm, sits the cold frostlands of Rime. And to the south sits temperate plains and forests, as well as the largest city in the continent; Persimme City.

Off the coast sits Warren Island, motherland to the Warren people, and in the heart of the continent is home to the Drakenfolk city, Da'garo.

today is language day and yes, our first language is english (though we speak french and crumbs of other languages too), but we wanted to shout out to us neurodivergent people who make up our own words, something we personally have been doing since we were a little kid without realising that it's Weird™ - anyway a small selection from our hoard:

ouskh - beautiful!

oun l'alau - a soothing litany, often repeating the first oun, used to calm freaked out pets or wild animals

yevren khemesmet - a declaration of defiance, hmm, hard to explain, a close approximation is "I survived, bitches"

and so on - we have no idea where we got these from but anyway, fistbumps to the rest of you who evolve your own words and language too

and meanwhile great love to all the non-anglophones on here, we're looking forward to seeing/hearing your own languages today!

Deep Mushroom for Das, Arbor Blessing + Rashvine for Yevren?

Deep Mushroom :: What act does your character consider morally foul but practically necessary? Does your character condone morally foul actions for practicality’s or necessity’s sake at all?

To him, the entire Inquisition smacks of that, tbh. He welcomes the chance to do some good and get things done, but there’s always this voice in the back of his head yelling at him that “this shit’s fucked up”... Leliana is very ‘knives in the dark’ blackmail&stab-happy and pretty unapologetic about it, Cullen just seems to love sending troops all over the place to intimidate the local leaders and Josie will casually discuss the destruction of lives, marriages and careers with the sweetest smile on her face. It’s absolutely frightening at times. Das can get behind ‘harsh times require harsh measures’, to an extent, but his moral flexibility has its bounds - and he starts thinking about the logistics and the best strategies for disbanding the Inquisition as soon as Corey is dealt with.

Arbor Blessing :: What is the happiest ending you can think of for your character?

She’s cured and gets to continue her research of the Blight, but with a different focus. She has her own house, with a lab and a study and a big garden. She’s got a bunch of dogs. In the best possible world, Das is there with her. She’s not sure if she wants kids. But she would probably be happier without them.

Rashvine :: Who/what is the one thing or person your character simply cannot stand?

A lot of the Wardens stationed at the Peak were of the more ruthless sort. She never liked such types much.

She hates distractions when she’s working. (Something Das had to learn quite early on.)

The Templars. Not necessarily the men and women themselves (she hates quite a few of them but she does judge them on a strictly individual basis), but certainly the Order and everything it represents. 

The higher-ups at Weisshaupt.

does anyone want to talk about yevren? The species is pretty old (was a thing on DA for years) and the owner recently came out of the woodworks trying to revive the species but due to her leadership in the past people are sceptical
