Becca didn’t go to work for her next three shifts, taking personal time and swapping clinic hours with her roommates for next week. She just couldn’t bring herself to set foot into the hospital, not yet anyway. Instead, she sat in her room wallowing in her decision.
It was the right thing to do, she convinced herself.
There was so much heartbreak that came with loving Ethan Ramsey - too much heartbreak for one lifetime. Becca was deftly afraid she wouldn’t be able to handle the next blow - the next time her little slice of heaven was struck down to another circle of hell.
Ethan Ramsey was a man that could never settle down. His career and ethics, along with everything he’s ever told her, made that perfectly clear. It was better for her to end this before he left her high and dry once again. What even would a life be with an emotionally unavailable attending?
Her thoughts reeled, over and over again trying to find salvation in her decision.
Was she really in love with Ethan or was it a continued stage of infatuation for Dr. Ramsey, her medical hero? When did their honeymoon stage end, and when was she left with this sinking feeling of no return in the pit of her stomach?
Her mind replayed all of the moments where they had the privilege of just being Ethan and Becca - just people, not colleagues. All those sweet hours they spent as friends and lovers. All those wonderful moments that gave her a false sense of futuristic hope.
They both had a lot of room for growth. Ethan had a decade longer to prepare himself - to focus on his career and get ready for love and the long term commitment that comes with it. But Becca’s still only 27. She has a bright career ahead of her - something Ethan has always been trying to protect. And although she’d never admit it, she was thankful for it. He gave her everything she could possibly need so she can achieve her dreams. What if they were both mistaken? What if, deep down, her dreams all led to a path with a family - a few little feet running around the grassy backyard by the bay she’d save up for. Something Ethan was adamant he could never settle down for, no matter how much he would like to want to. It was another reason to go.
For her own sanity Becca needed to walk away.
She spent her whole life waiting for a love as great as Ethan. She never thought it was possible to be so completely obsessed and content in the arms of one person. How one person's presence could soothe all the current issues she’d be facing. She kept trying to convince herself she’d find a better match - someone with Ethan’s wit and intellect, his attractive features and banter. Someone who’s fingers fit just a bit better between her own and wanted the same dream as she.
In those days she wanted to call him and take everything back. But this wasn’t a movie. There was no fairytale ending, against her better judgment she knew that. Becca was confused and didn’t know what to do - about her heart or about work. How was she meant to work closely every single day for the next few years with the man whose heart she just broke?
God this hurts.
Is love supposed to hurt this much?
Ethan Ramsey was considered a god among doctors and aspiring medical professionals. His quick intellect and curt tendencies were admired much to his disapproval. The Ethan Ramsey did not believe in idolatry, especially among physicians. Ethan was just an ordinary person, sitting at his desk completely gobsmacked.
The event from the other night is still very much ingrained in his brain. He’d played those last few days over and over again, dissecting every little detail for any sign of dissatisfaction. Maybe if he could pin-point the moment her mind changed he’d be able to salvage their relationship. He needed to salvage their relationship for his own sanity.
They didn’t argue. They never really argued. Sure they had spats and quarrels but never over anything larger than life. They left as quickly as they started, with one of them admitting their wrong - usually Ethan. How was he meant to apologize if he didn’t know what he did to offend her so deeply?
Ethan sat at his desk a few streets away from the woman of his dreams and so unsure of what to do. His gut feeling was to flee - to accept a position elsewhere and let her have Edenbrook. These days Edenbrook needed Dr. Lao more than him. He has done all he could and it’s her turn to shine. But Naveen, he couldn’t leave Naveen. And deep down he knew Edenbrook was his home, more so than any other physical location has ever been. Aside from Rebecca. Rebecca has always been home.
What was Ethan supposed to do about their professional relationship now? He spent so long dreading the implications of having a relationship that he never thought to think about what would become if it had ended.
With a heavy heart and a sigh, he pulled the small rectangular black box out of his desk drawer, turning it over in his hands.
Where did I go wrong?
He always has and always will put Dr. Rebecca Lao first. So where does that leave Ethan now?
It was so quiet in the Diagnostics office between the still air and Ethan’s deprecating internal monologue that they didn’t notice one another. Becca gingerly entered the office, not noticing him sitting at the desk and Ethan still too transfixed by the box in his hand.
As if on cue, their cheeks naturally began to flush with heat before lifting their heads to let their eyes meet. Dark surprised brown meeting with deeply conflicted blue.
“I’m sorry,” they said in breathless unison.
Becca quickly added, “I didn’t think you’d be here. It’s your day off.” She stood up taller, mustering up all the courage she had left, and let the glass door slip from her fingers and close behind her.
Ethan tried to tear his eyes away from her but was frozen in place. He didn’t anticipate seeing her, not until he solved the case of her misery. Words fell off his tongue in an indifferent response, “A lot of work to do, I’ve been down a team member.”
She stood there awkwardly, wringing her fingers.
“Can I help you with anything?” he added when she didn’t advance.
“I was just coming to grab the new case file. Hirata said it was on your desk.”
He grabbed the lonely file from the edge of his desk and stood, carefully making his way over to her. Becca met him halfway, hesitantly. She held her hand out to snatch the hefty document but he pulled it up, using his height to keep it out of reach.
“Can we talk?”
“I don-”
He cut her off, “What happened?” A bated pause. Becca bit her lip, anticipating his next words. They were the words she herself couldn’t fully comprehend. “Why did you leave?”
“Ethan… don’t,” she warned, crossing her arms over her chest. The file now a distant memory. Ethan was within range she could feel the warmth radiating off of him even if he was three feet away. His gravitational pull was and will always be so strong.
Ethan’s bloodshot eyes bore her down, “Tell me. You owe me an explanation.”
Her eyes were fixated on the Hopkins Diploma on the wall behind him. “I told you,” she shrugged. “I can’t trust you not to break my heart - not again.”
He took in the feisty woman before him. Her scrubs hung off her body and the ever-present purple bags under her eyes certainly matched his own. Her large brown eyes were showing the after effects of days of tears. Ethan reached out for her with his free hand. He hated seeing her like this.
His hand ghosted her own. “Come back to me, Rookie,” he implored in the softest voice one would never have imagined came from the stern doctor. “We’ll make this work.”
She let his hand linger before pulling hers back tightly close to her body.
Becca watched as Ethan’s face fell. Any ounce of form he wanted to keep completely vanishing. Sadness coated his features and Ethan Ramsey never looked more human. It pained her to see him so vulnerable, though not enough to abandon her decision.
“I’ve heard that one before…” Becca muttered.
“I promise. I’ll do better.”
With a long sigh of the air she did know she was holding in since he tried to take her hand she told him curtly, “I’ve given you so many chances, E. You keep pushing me away and I can’t keep crawling back.” Finally her eyes met with his once more. “I deserve better.”
Without a moment's hesitation he agreed, “I know. You deserve so much more than me but…” He dropped the file to the floor with a thump and a scatter. His hands needed to be on her, to make her understand. But he couldn’t just grab her that would be wrong, he needed her permission. Instead he balled his fists as tightly as possible. “But you can’t help who you love.”
There those words were again. That four letter word she had waited so long to hear but he’d never vocalized in the right of circumstances. “And, as I’ve learned, though love sometimes hurts, I still and will always put you first.” His feet carried him towards her on their own volition. Ethan made his decision then and there; if Becca couldn’t take him back then Edenbrook wasn’t big enough for the both of them. “You can shine brighter if I step down.”
“Step down?” Becca’s jaw dropped. “What’re you talking about?”
A sad, ghostly smirk appeared on his supple lips, “It’s going to take some time to get over you. I’ll consult somewhere else for a while.”
There he was, leaving again. His selfish selflessness would be the death of her. But this time she didn't feel sad or abandoned, Becca felt empowered. She knew.
“Stay,” she told him. “We can work together.”
He wanted to ask her to clarify, but she continued on.
“What’s that?” she looked over him to the black box sitting on his desk.
“It’s nothing.”
Becca raised an eyebrow, “Doesn’t look like nothing.”
Ethan had no idea which way to go - if he withheld he just might always regret never asking her, if he told her he didn’t think he’d be able to handle the rejection of a second chance.
He didn’t get the chance to ask. In true Becca fashion she went ahead and opened the box anyway. Her fingers brushed over the silver, trying to accept if this was a fantasy she conjured in a sleep-deprived state or the reality she had been manifesting for months. In fact it was a declaration straight from heaven - her chest rose and fell at a rapid pace, anxiety setting in. She made a terrible miscalculation.
“Is this…?”
He nodded.
“We both made mistakes.” He crossed the distance between them, their bodies only inches from one another and Becca’s back pressed into his desk. “I love you. More than scientifically possible.” he declared and a crack of smile broke through their hesitant expressions. Ethan removed the small bit of shiny silver out of it’s makeshift container still held tightly in her hands, holding it delicately between his fingers Ethan asked,
“Move in with me?”
Becca’s eyes glowed, every doubt she ever had seemingly vanished all over again.
“Yes.”

Theme Song for this Chapter: “Charlie Puth- Attention” and “EDEN- drugs”
Yoongi laid in bed with one hand behind his head and the other held his phone, tapping it against his chin. His eyes scanned the ceiling though his mind was elsewhere. When his mind wasn’t on his work, it was always seemed to wander to you. It has been a little over three months since he last saw and spoke to you. And he figured that you wouldn’t want to see him after the last encounter. Yoongi smiled to himself. After everything he did, he didn’t regret a thing.
After the date with Mina, he went home expecting the guy would call him with an update on you. Mina wanted to come back with him but he convinced her that he would be working and had a meeting to go to. While he waited, Yoongi went over more paperwork, speaking with different business owners about money. Before he knew it, it was almost nine o'clock and there hasn’t been one single call from you. He called the man watching your apartment and he confirmed that you haven’t been home yet. Yoongi frowned hanging up the phone and dialing your number. Every time he called, your voicemail would greet him. He even sent you text messages but you never responded back. He scratched his head in frustration. Fuck it! If you wanted to be childish then he was going to let you. Yoongi got up from his desk and grabbed his jacket. He met up with Hoseok and Namjoon at a bar to drink and relax. He confided in them about what was going on and although they found it funny that Yoongi stuck his foot in his mouth repeatedly when it came to you, they still offered some advice.
It was around four in the morning when Yoongi decided to head home. Before he fell asleep, he called you one last time and this time he heard a dial tone which meant that your phone was on. He waited for you to answer, trying to think of what to say. But unfortunately, your voicemail picked up. Yoongi angrily hung up, harshly pressing the screen as he typed you a message. But of course, you didn’t respond to that either. He bit down hard on his bottom lip, trying like hell to control his anger. He never considered why you were mad because to him, it didn’t matter. You had no reason to be mad when you knew what the situation was. He knew he was part to blame, though. He should have never agreed to go on the stupid date. Yoongi made a plan to make sure you knew, once and for all, who were in his life the next time he saw you.
A couple days later, he finally got the call from the man watching your apartment telling him that you made it home but that wasn’t all. A man had picked up you and judging by how you were dress, you were going out for the evening. Yoongi didn’t say another word. He hung up, dressed appropriately, called someone he knew that could pose as his date, and headed to address given to him. The only reason why he didn’t call Mina was that she could be a problem and ruin his plans for the evening. And seeing how she took a liking to you, he knew she would probably go looking for you if you disappeared from your date for a long period of time.
When Yoongi arrived at the restaurant with his date, he searched for where you might be seated so he could pick his accordingly. He found you sitting across from a man that he was very acquainted with. Jinyoung Park, one of city’s district attorneys. Even at just a novice lawyer, Jinyoung was making quite a name for himself. He went on television and made a claim to bring down every mobster in the city. Citizens were thrilled at the news. They were tired of hearing about the crime and how it was affecting their children and communities. They demanded that the police take action. He and Jinyoung exchanged words on more than a few occasions. And here you were having dinner with the bastard. Yoongi wasn’t worried about you sharing any information about him because you didn’t know shit. He avoided talking about any business in front of you just in case you were working for your father. He led his date to the perfect table where he had the advantage of seeing what goes on at your table. Along the way, you seemed to spot him and look in his direction, with a questionable look in your eyes. But he just smiled, everything was going as planned.
Yoongi did more watching than eating as his date just chowed away at her food. He couldn’t take his eyes off of you. You looked beautiful sitting there all made up, laughing at whatever was going on. You looked like you were really enjoying yourself. When Jinyoung held your hand and you stared lovely into his eyes is when Yoongi had enough. If he continued to watch anymore, he was literally going to be sick. He pulled out his phone and sent you a message, watching as you pulled away from the conversation to answer it. Just as he thought, you ignored it. So he sent you another and another. But after awhile, Yoongi was starting to get pissed. He sent you couple more messages and called one of the men on his payroll to come inside to scare the shit out you. Judging by your reaction and the panicked look on your face, it worked perfectly. You scurried off to the bathrooms and Yoongi got up to do the same, telling his date to wait at the table. He hid by the wall waiting on you to come out of the ladies room and the moment you did, he attacked. He grabbed you, shoving you against the wall. He wanted you to know how pissed he was and wanted to unleash the wrath of fury on your ass. But when he saw how vulnerable you were and you had that look in your eyes from when you both first met, it all went away and he had to have you at that moment. He had to admit that you looked so damn beautiful that he couldn’t help himself. When it was all over and you had one again confessed that you belong to him, Yoongi was satisfied. He actually wanted to stick around to see the aftermath between you and your date but that was no longer his problem. He got what he had came for although he would have rather had you leave with him so he could continue fucking you the rest of the night. He grabbed his date and headed for the door. He spotted Jinyoung walking towards the bathrooms and greeted him.
“Enjoy the rest of your date, Jinyoung Park.”
Jinyoung didn’t say anything but Yoongi could feel his gaze on him as he walked away. After ditching his bothersome date, Yoongi went home and slept peacefully knowing that you were going to be back.
During the first month, Yoongi sat around waiting for his phone to ring. He figured that you would call him up, begging him to come over like you use to do when you were needy. But days went by and he didn’t get one message. He assumed that you were just being stubborn and didn’t want to look weak crawling back to him. The thought made him smile with joy and he promised himself to go a little easier on you when the time came to fuck you. Days turned to weeks and there was still no word from you. For a moment, he thought you were dead and sent some of his men to check up on you at home, at your job, and even at your parent’s home which he noticed you were visiting quite often.
During the second month, Yoongi was very distracted from his work. He couldn’t concentrate on the business which was a definite ‘no’ in his book. Taking after his father was somewhat like a dream. Ever since he was little, Yoongi wanted the whole world at his fingertips. He wanted the kind of power his dad had and wanted people to fear him. And they all did, all except for you. Not even Mina stepped up to him the way you do. They argued back and forth but that was all. But you were slowly growing accustomed to his temper which was making you immune to his sudden anger. He didn’t want to admit it but he was missing you big time. And what bothered him the most was that it wasn’t just the sex he missed. He missed your annoying nature. He missed how you tried to tease and playfully joke with him when he tried to work. He even missed how you use to laugh with his friends when they were working his last nerve. When Yoongi told them this, they just stared at him.
“You?…” Namjoon asked in astonishment.
“Didn’t you get pissed when she admitted that she loved you?” Hoseok stepped in.
“And what about the other love of your life, which is clueless to your extracurricular activities?”
“Of course I love her! That’s never going to change!” Yoongi yelled out.
“But you love y/n too?”
“No, I don’t love her. I just don’t mind having her annoying ass around.”
“Why don’t you just admit that you have feelings for her?” Hoseok chuckled.
“Because I don’t.”
“I know you like fucking her. But let me get this straight, you send guys to check up on her, offer to take her out to dinner, get jealous because someone else is taking her out, gets angry because she ignores you, but you don’t care about her?” Namjoon questioned.
“Yoongi, out of all people, has the worst case of denial.” Hoseok laughed and Namjoon joined him.
Yoongi rolled his eyes at his friends’ statements. He didn’t have a problem loving you; he just knew that he didn’t. But the more he thought about it, the more it began to bug him. Could he really have feelings for you? You? The same person that could not only ruin his family’s reputation and business but is also the daughter of his father’s sworn enemy. That same night, Yoongi called Mina and took her out. He brought her back to his house where he fucked her all night, over and over; trying to prove to himself that she was the only one he gave a damn about. That she was the only woman for him. Yoongi thought back to one point in time, when he was so obsessed with Mina that he couldn’t see himself with anyone else and refused to let her be with anyone else. She was the perfect woman for him and he was just waiting on the right time to put a ring on her finger. Even after she left him, he still wanted her.
But when it was all over and Mina was very satisfied and resting, Yoongi couldn’t sleep. It felt as thought something was missing and he knew exactly what it was. At that moment, although everything seemed perfect; he had Mina sleeping in his bed, everyone he cared about was happy, he still wasn’t content with himself. At first, the only reason why he ever gotten involved with you was to get insight on the police but it was obvious that his motives had gradually changed. Even when the two of you fucked the first time, Yoongi felt something there. He didn’t know what it was until the following days after what happened. He felt drawn to you and you suddenly became a subject in his thoughts when he was alone and with others. And what was hard for him to believe was that Mina didn’t have this kind of effect on him the first time they had sex yet he loved her. He convinced himself that seeing you would be for his benefit only but every time you two had sex, he made it priority to make you cum multiple times. And after awhile, he was meeting you almost every day. He had became accustomed to you being a part of his life and no matter how hard he denied it, you not being there bothered him.
During the third month, Yoongi’s anger was boiling over. He was much meaner and angrier than before and everyone noticed. They treaded lightly when they were around him after he shot and killed someone for bringing him bad news from one company who was late on their payments. He felt like he was losing his mind, balancing out his thoughts. He tried to focus solely on his work and assisting his father now that his brother was gone. Any thoughts of you, he shut them out. Even things between him and Mina were sour. She refused to talk to him after they got into an argument over her teasing him. She had done it before and they both laughed about it but that night, it ignited a steamed argument which ended with Mina walking out on him.
Yoongi knew that his personal problems all started with you and if he didn’t get a handle on the situation, he would continue to be miserable. He wanted to message you but had a strong feeling that you wouldn’t answer back. He even wondered if you would speak to him if he went to see you. He knew he had to come up with some sort of agreement for you to forgive him and he think he had an idea.
~~~~~
You were out enjoying life as much as you could and you were genuinely happy. You haven’t spoken to Yoongi in three months and you felt as though you were on the right track. The situation with him was heading down a dangerous path so it was better to just leave it alone. There were times when you feeling a bit down and missed him. But you chose to ignore it and your body’s response to him. It was as if you were going through actual withdraw symptoms without him. The first month was an uphill battle but you managed to pull through. After that, it became a lot more easier. You went back to work the day after your week was up, you catered to yourself; you were hanging out Hyolyn almost every day, and visiting your parents regularly.
Unfortunately you didn’t go out for a second date with Jinyoung, not because you didn’t want to, but because you were too ashamed for what happened the last time. He was a great guy and the perfect date and he didn’t deserve that. If you continued to see him, you would eventually have to tell him about what happened that night. And you didn’t want to hurt him or have him think of you any differently so you politely turned him down. But strange enough, the person you were building a quick friendship with was Jimin. He managed to pop up out of nowhere one day when you were out and about. You weren’t doing anything at that moment so you decided to have lunch with him. He was every bit of charming as you remembered. The conversation was nice and a little bit flirtatious. He made you smile the entire time you were with him and his smile was just as contagious. You were enjoying yourself but just like before, someone came to tell him it was time to go. This time, you made plans to hang out with him the following week and you did. You enjoyed spending time with him and wondered where it would lead to. It was like your life was falling into place.
“Oh my goodness, Hyolyn. I feel like I’m back to my old self,” You stated, falling back on her bed. You were watching her as she sat at her vanity, putting on her makeup. “I’m happy I made the decision to walk away.”
Hyolyn stood to take off her robe, showing off her dress hidden underneath. She sat back down and began working on her hair. “There was something I wanted to say about that, y/n. All I want is for you to be happy like you are now. But I think you should meet up with him, make a clean break, and then go your separate ways. I don’t want him waiting around to just pop up and continue treating you like shit. Yoongi needs to know that he can’t use and abuse you for his own personal expense. I hate that he did that to you, y/n. You didn’t deserve that.”
You smiled and nodded. “Thank you for that, Hyolyn. I will take care of everything.” You both made eye contact and Hyolyn smiled and returned to doing her hair. “So where is Matt taking you this time?”
“I’m not sure. He’s already taken me to dinner, a movie, and a walk in through the park. I wonder if we are going on that boat ride I suggested a while ago.”
“How many dates will you two go on before you guys officially start dating?” You asked.
Hyolyn smiled and shrugged. “It really feels like I’m daydreaming. I’ve liked him since we were kids and now he’s finally showing me attention. It kind of feels like a dream come true.” She giggled and you couldn’t help the slight ache in your heart. You wanted to feel what she felt but you were more than happy for her. After being there and dealing with all your drama, she deserved a moment of sunshine. “So are you going to just chill here?”
You stood and stretched out. “No, I’m going back home. That way there won’t be any awkwardness if you decide to bring Matt back here.”
Hyolyn laughed. “Are you giving me permission to sleep with him?”
“Be my guest, he’s a grown man. This is probably the only time where I don’t want to hear the details.” You giggled, walking up to kiss her forehead before going to her front door. “Have fun, Lyn. Text me when you make it back home.”
“Okay!” She yelled from the bedroom.
You hummed, tapping your fingers on the steering wheel to the music. The drive home was nice and relaxing besides the rain pouring down on your car. You watched as people ran to take shelter somewhere safe while just one couple were out in the rain, laughing and holding each other. You smiled at the sight. It looked like something out of a love story, the way he protected her from getting splashed by water and helped her jump over large puddles.
By the time you made it home, the rain was coming down harder than before. You became soaking wet just from walking from your car to the main door of the apartment building. Your hair and clothes were attached to your body like second skin. You checked your mailbox, being careful not to drip water onto any of the letters. Walking up the stairs to your apartment, you couldn’t wait to relax once you made it inside. The moment you opened the door, you almost screamed from fright. Yoongi was just causally sitting on your couch with his leg thrown over the other watching TV.
“Television is such a waste of time. Do you usually use this box to entertain you? It’s only needed for news broadcasts anyway.”
You came inside, slamming door or behind you.
“You nearly gave me a heart attack! What are you doing here, Yoongi?”
“To talk, what else?” He responded smartly, turning off the TV to stand.
“What could we possibly have to talk about?”
Yoongi remained straight faced, jumping right into the matter. “This agreement. Us.”
“Us?! We have nothing to talk about. I really don’t need you constantly telling me how I mean nothing to you. If you haven’t realized, it hurts. And I’m tired of crying about it.” You tried to walk away but he stopped you.
“That’s what I wanted to talk about.”
“You are wasting your time if you think that I just going to forget what happened and fall helplessly into your arms for you to take me.” You stated sarcastically, walking into your bedroom but Yoongi followed you in there. You were about to undress out of your wet clothes but remember what it could lead to with him standing there so you just turned around to face him with your arms crossed.
“Well if you would let me talk then I can tell you why I’m here, and no it’s not for sex.” You stood there waiting for him to continue. “I… um….I missed you. And I want you back.” He finally admitted to you, looking almost bashful at the fact that he said such a thing.
Once again you were unmoved by his words. This wouldn’t be the first time he said something sweet just to get his way. And this time, you weren’t buying a word. “I don’t know who you are trying to convince but I stand by what I said. I’m not fucking you, Yoongi.”
He chuckled. “Not that it matters but didn’t you say that last time we were here?”
You didn’t see anything humorous about the situation. You were not going to continue letting him get over on you while putting you down in the process. You were putting your foot down right then and there.
“Fuck you!” You stated angrily. Yoongi stopped laughing to stare at you. The evil in him wanted to say something back or put you in your place but he wasn’t there to argue. If he wanted you back, he would have to suck up his ego and bite his tongue. However you were in a rage of your own and wanted to release all the built up anger you had. “Every since we met, I have been a portal for you to get out all of your anger. I let you fuck bruises and pain into my body because of all the pleasure you given me after. At first it was all about sex. I really couldn’t stand being around you and I wanted to leave the moment it was done. I was convinced that I had nothing in common with a monster like you but that changed. The more we had sex, the more I gotten use to you being there. You invited me out for awhile and I got to know you a little outside of work and sex. My feelings for you were growing and I couldn’t help it. But each time I tried to let my guard down, you would crush every feeling I had for you,” you spoke, relieved to get everything out on the table. “I get that you love Mina and don’t have any feelings for me but now you are in the wrong! You have no interest in me yet you still show up to fuck me. You are even going out of your way to take care of me. But after all that, I’m still not allowed to love you! When I try to move on, you show up to ruin MY date! You had no right to show up! NO RIGHT! You want to have control over me and it doesn’t work that way, Yoongi. If you don’t want to love me, you can’t stop others from doing the same!”
Yoongi nodded in agreement. “You’re absolutely right. I’ll admit I was wrong for how I behaved that night. Did I go there with the intentions of hurting you? Absolutely, but it changed when I got you alone. I’m still not sure 'how’ or 'why’ but for some reason, your presence puts me at ease,” he stated walking towards you until he stood directly in your face, staring into your eyes. “Right now, my life has been a mess the past couple months and in order for me to fix it; I have to make things right with you. I’m not asking you to make a decision right now but I want you to think about it.”
“If I did decide to come back, I need to know what will change.”
“Anything you want.”
You stared into his eyes for any falsehood. A part of you wanted to believe him but you still weren’t ready to trust him. It could all be a trick to get you back and trap you for good. And then there was that subject that hung in the air or better yet, someone…
“What about Mina?” You asked. Yoongi sighed before answering. He wanted this talk to be honest but he hoped that what he was about to say wouldn’t change your mind. He could feel that you were starting to open back up and didn’t want to blow it.
“My feelings for Mina have not changed. We were together for years and I do love her.”
Your heart silently cracked and you had to look away, trying to push back the tears that were starting to build up in your eyes. “Then why don’t you pursue a relationship with her? She talks about you all the time and it is clear, she wants you back.”
“Despite what Mina has told you, we aren’t together. We haven’t been together for almost a year and that’s based solely on her decision. She doesn’t want to be with me until I give her all my time and attention but with a job like mine, I can’t do that. It requires my availability twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. If I am needed, I have to go. If I get a call, I have to answer it.”
“I understand… but what would happen if she wants you back?” You nervously rubbed your hands on your clothes. Yoongi just thought for a moment.
“I can’t say unless it actually happens.”
“Do you plan on telling her about us?”
He shook his head. “Not that she doesn’t deserve to know. It’s just that I don’t have time to deal with the 'if I can’t have you, nobody will’ situation.” You didn’t know how to feel about that. You liked Mina and thought she deserved to know the truth but was it your place to tell her? You decided not to wreck your brain and drop the topic.
“Do… do you think you will ever grow to love me?” A part of you was scared to ask but you had to know. It was more than obvious that his feelings for you had grown but what you wanted to know was if he was fully capable of loving you like he did Mina.
“I don’t know. I can’t promise you anything but judging how I’m standing in your apartment asking you to come back, really says a lot.”
You had finally turned away from Yoongi, walking to your bedroom window looking outside. He had giving you a lot to think about and you weren’t sure what to do. Were you ready to risk another heartbreak coming in as a third wheel? Or continue dealing with his temper and letting him degrade you? You were trying to separate what your body wanted from what your heart and mind wanted. You almost didn’t notice Yoongi coming up behind you. He placed a kiss on the back of your head and leaned forward to whisper in your ear.
“What do you say, y/n?” You close your eyes and turned to face him, taking a deep breath.
“Okay… but it’s what I want, right?”
“That’s right.”
Yoongi leaned forward and gently kissed your lips. Your eyes closed, feeling his soft lips against yours. He broke away for a second to look you in the eyes before cupping your face and kissing you passionately. You held on to his arms opening your mouth to feel his warm tongue. You could feel a change in his movements that almost made you want to cry. He was a lot gentler than he had ever been. It was as if you were like a glass porcelain statue and he was holding you with so much care so you wouldn’t break. Yoongi pushed his body up against yours and it was then you could feel his bulge pressing against your stomach. Even though you agreed to come back, you didn’t want to give off the impression that sex was all you had to offer. You slowly pushed him away, breaking the kiss.
“I can’t… I’m not…” you slapped his hands away from your face, deciding to stick with your plan. “I’m not fucking you tonight, Yoongi.”
Yoongi chuckled and before taking a step back. “Nice to see that your feistiness hasn’t changed.” He held your face, massaging your cheek with his thumb before slowly rubbing across your bottom lip. His eyes were frozen on your lips. He wanted to kiss them nonstop but had to control himself. You had said not tonight so he had to wait. “I’ll be leaving now. Have a good night, y/n.”
You stood there in shock, listening to your front door open and close. You smiled to yourself, rubbing your lips recounting the moment you and Yoongi just shared. You fell back against the wall in deep thought. You could already feel the change between the two of you and for once, you were happy with the decision you had made concerning him.
~~~~~
It was mid afternoon the next day and Yoongi’s mother was preparing dinner for her husband and son. She was happy to have them both come home and thought maybe they could have a nice dinner like they use to do a long time ago. Although she speaks to him often over the phone, she really hasn’t seen Yoongi since the funeral. She wondered if he was doing well and eating right. Knowing how much time goes into the family business, she figured he wasn’t even sleeping at night. She moved around the kitchen placing a few dishes in the oven before turning her attention to the other ones. She hummed as she thought about later on, hoping that they could get a little food in their stomachs before cell phones start ringing.
She giggled to herself, placing the rest of her dishes in the fridge. When she shut the door, she was grabbed from behind. One of his arms was tight around her neck while the other was wrapped around her waist. Her first initial thought was that she was being robbed. She tried to scream but the pressure around her neck only made a squeal come out.
“Who else is in the house?” His deep voice spoke but she couldn’t recognize who it was.
“No… no… n-no one.” She managed to get out but he was still squeezing her neck. She was starting to panic but tried to remain calm. It was then that he removed his arm from around her abdomen to pull out a black walkie talkie.
“Negative. The female is the only one home. What should I do?” Her captor spoke again, this time into the device.
“Kill her and move out.” Another voice answered back. It hit her that this wasn’t a robbery but an assassination. Just like how they did her eldest son. She believed it was the same people that trapped and put him down. It had to be them. But no matter how much the odds were against her, she refused to let them kill her. She had to think of a solution and do it quick.
As he maneuvered her around the kitchen, she picked up the closes item in her reach which happened to be a frying pan. She held it in both hands and aimed it to hit his head directly behind her. He groaned in pain but he loosened up the grip around her neck. She was able to slip out from under him but when she pulled away; he had his gun drawn ready to fire. She quickly when for his hands, hitting them hard with the pan. The gun went flying to the floor and before she could hit him again, he ran to grab it. Thinking back on what her husband taught her over the years, she ran to grab a gun out of the kitchen drawer. She cocked it, aimed, and fired the gun before her attacker could do the same. She kept shooting, not wanting to give him the chance to return fire.
The gunman hid behind the closest piece of furniture, realizing that he had underestimated her and looked for nearest door to escape. He waited until she had to reload the gun before he made his move. But what he failed to realized was that she wasn’t an amateur when it came to firearms. She slipped the empty clip from the gun and loaded a new one in seconds and continued firing. The man decided to take his chances and make a run for it. Before he could make a clean jump through the window, she got lucky and shot him in the upper arm.
She collapsed on the floor in tears, trying to grasp what had just occurred. She didn’t have time to collect herself before the police had broken through the front door with their guns drawn.
“Police! Anyone home?!” An officer yelled.
“In here!” She screamed. They came running over to her to see if she was okay while others went to search the house.
“We received a call. A neighbor complained about hearing gunshots. Are you okay?”
She nodded and took a deep breath. “I was attacked. He choked me and I shot him but he escaped.”
“We need some oxygen!” He yelled to the paramedics before making eye contact with his partner.

Yoongi held up his arms up so that the tailor could measure him. He was out with his father getting measured for suits. It was something he, his father, and brother use to do together. His father saw it as time to spend with his two sons and also discuss business. But they had stopped due to the fact that the family business was getting bigger and his father and brother were in a different city. The tailor stepped out of the room to get a few more materials before he could continue.
“You know, son, I don’t say this often but I am very proud of you. You have been doing great running what I gave you. I have received nothing but good comments on everything you’ve done. I am proud to call you my son.”
“Thanks, dad.” Yoongi smiled. Although they were rare, he liked hearing small appraisals from his father. It’s what gave him motivation to keep going.
“Now I’m sure you will make me even prouder when I retire and you inherit the entire business. Your brother is looking down smiling at what a man you have become.”
“Yes, he was always there for me, supporting me through it all. I will work even harder for him.”
His father nodded, fixing the suit jacket on his shoulders. The tailor’s assistant, who happened to be a young woman around the age of twenty, offered to get them something while they waited on the tailor to come back. His father didn’t miss the way she secretly tried to stare at Yoongi and Yoongi didn’t miss it either. He felt her eyes on him but when he looked her way; she averted her eyes to look somewhere else. His father chuckled and told her they were fine. The assistant left them back to their father-son moment.
“I forgot that you were a charmer.” His father laughed. “You’ve got that from me although your mother wasn’t having that. Her demeanor would scare away all the girls.” Yoongi laughed along with his dad. “Now all you have to do is find a decent girl to settle down with.”
“Have you forgotten about Mina? When the time comes, I’ll settle down.” Not that he couldn’t see himself settling down with you, it’s just he couldn’t see it playing out in a good way.
“That’s right, the beautiful young lady from the funeral. She’s a good touch and all but not someone to settle down with.”
Yoongi smiled. “Are you saying she’s not decent enough?”
His father turned to face him. “Listen to me very closer, son.” Yoongi’s smile instantly dropped as he carefully listened to what was said. “It’s not about being a decent person. I worked day and night to get your mother by my side. And eventually, she loved me enough to be my girlfriend. Now I’ll admit, I wanted my cake and eat it too. I had countless of women at my disposal, but when it all boiled down to it, her loyalty made her the one I wanted to make my wife. Now that doesn’t mean she stayed by my side when I did all my dirt because best believe, I got an earful each time. But the real test came not when my life was in danger but when she learned she was also a target. She knew her life was on the line getting involved with me but she never left my side, not once. In fact there was a time where she was willing to risk her life for me. I made her my wife the very next day. I’m not saying that Mina isn’t a decent person but if she is willing to leave you constantly over something as small as neglect then how can she stand by your side when you really need her. I can see her abandoning you over and over because she is only thinking of herself and not what it is that you do. Now I won’t tell you that she will do something extreme like double cross you to save herself but at the end of the day, sleep with one eye open, son. Sometimes your enemies aren’t the ones you watch out for on the streets but are the ones we lie next to at night.”
Yoongi stood there in disbelief. Despite what his father had just told him, he still loved and cared for Mina. Those feelings weren’t going to change overnight. It would take her betraying him for him to feel different towards her. They had just made up the other day so everything was back to normal between them. However, he still didn’t want to take his father’s words lightly and logged them in the back of his mind.
Minutes later, the tailor came back out to finish their measurements. The two of them laughed and reminisced about the past until his father’s phone rung out followed by Yoongi’s phone. They both answered and listened. They locked eyes after learning the news of what happened to his mother. Leaving the shop immediately, Yoongi didn’t have time to wait for their driver. He hopped in the driver’s seat and his father in the passenger seat. Finding the spare key, he started the car, and pulled off down the street into driving like a bat out of hell to his parent’s home. The entire ride, Yoongi felt sick to his stomach. First his brother now his mother. At least she managed to escape but he didn’t know how bad she was hurt.
They made it to the house in record time. There were cops everywhere along with a few news vans and the neighbors poured onto the sidewalk. Even their men were there, ready for orders on how to handle the situation. Yoongi and his father rushed inside to find his mother seated on the couch with cops all around her. When she spotted her husband and son, she ran to them embracing her husband.
“I think that’s all gentlemen. Let’s wrap this up.” The lieutenant stated, walking to the door before turning back around. “If you happened to remember anything at all about your attacker please give us a call.”
They waited until the house was empty and the police cars cleared out before anyone spoke. His parents took a seat on the couch while Yoongi went to survey the broken window checking out the damage. Bullets holes were scattered everywhere. He knew whoever the target was, his mother wasn’t letting him leave the house alive.
“Now, tell me what happened.” His father spoke. He knew that she would rather talk to him than the police. He was the only one she trusted to protect her and their family.
“He appeared out of nowhere and grabbed me from behind. I thought I was being robbed but then he spoke to someone over the phone and they told him to kill me. When I got the chance, I fought back.”
“Is there anything else you remember? Did anything stick out to you?” Yoongi asked his mother. She thought it over.
“He told the guy that I was the only one home. It was as if they assumed someone would be here with me… now that I think about it, I don’t think they were really after me. I just happened to be home so I had to die as well.”
“The only one who is usually here would be you, dad.” Yoongi stared at his dad and his mother did too. Whoever this is was now after his parents. Killing his brother wasn’t enough. They were trying to wipe out everyone close to him. And since they missed his father and failed to kill his mother, they would be coming after someone else he knew… but who would it be?
“How about we leave town for a while, until everything calms down. What do you say, honey?” His father asked. Yoongi’s mother nodded her head. She was sick to her stomach and wanted to leave town immediately. She hated the thought that her family was being targeted and could barely protect them. She left the room to go pack her belongings. “Get me the men guarding this house.”
Moments later, everyone came inside the house but only two of the men stepped forward. Yoongi stood by and watched his father get up and stand in front of them.
“I’ve gave each and every single one of you jobs to do, some had jobs harder than others. All you two had to do was watch the house and protect my wife when I was away,” he said as he held out his hand to Yoongi to which he placed a gun with a silencer in his father’s hand. “Now what I want to know how did you allow him to enter this house?”
Both men looked at each other. How could they tell him that they had left the house for a second to go get food? They didn’t think anything would happen during the short time they were gone. How could they be so wrong? Yoongi’s father cocked the gun and shot both men in their foot. They collapsed on the floor in pain, blood leaking out over the waxed hardwood.
“One thing that I won’t tolerate is disrespect. And I felt as if I’ve been disrespected three times now.” He stated, this time shooting them both in the knee. Everyone else was quiet while the screams of the two men were all that could be heard. “After everything I have ever done, you both were with me from the beginning, I’ve welcomed you into my house, took care of your families, and made sure you were well looked after, but you leave my home unguarded. A man has come here and assaulted my wife AND managed to escape. Now when I want answers, but you refuse to give them to me.”
“We are sorry, sir!” One of the men yelled out.
“We didn’t think anything could happen! Please have mercy!”
Yoongi’s father lowered the gun, nodding his head. “Alright. I’ll have mercy,” he handed the firearm back to Yoongi. “You both are fired and I will no longer be supporting you or your families. I’m sorry gentleman but this is the end of our contract. Get them out of my sight.” He motioned to the rest of the men who dragged them out of the house, leaving a trail of blood behind them.
Yoongi’s father spoke to his butler. “I want this place cleaned down. I don’t want to see one speck of blood in my home.” He commanded while walking away to go check on his wife. “And call someone to fix my window.”
~~~
Yoongi was seated at his desk in his home office. He was supposed to be going over the files placed all over tabletop but instead, he was leaning back and his head was facing the ceiling as he drifted deeper into his thoughts. His parents were already out of town for the week after what happened the day before but he still couldn’t shake this nagging feeling. Something wasn’t right.
“Yoongi!” Namjoon yelled as he and Hoseok came bursting through the door. “You’ve got to see this!” He grabbed the remote off of the desk and turn on the flat screen TV hanging up on the wall.
“…the death toll is expected to rise to fifty, due to all the people at the station during the explosion, officers and civilians included. It is still unknown what caused the blast but sources say it could have been a possible gas leak. Our very own police department has offered their help and is expected to launch a full investigation on the matter…”
They all continued to watch the news until Namjoon was the first to speak up. “This is the same police station that we found out was a part of the conspiracy to kill your brother. The one from the neighboring town. They were the ones that forced BigE to do the set up.”
“Now they’re dead. I wondered who did it.” Hoseok questioned.
But Yoongi remained quiet, staring at the screen in front of him. The different images of the burned down police station, firefighters lifting out one black body bag after the other, and reporters talking, all captured his vision. But instead of talking about it with his friends, he sat up straight in his chair and got back to work.
~~~~~
Later on that night, Hoseok was heading home for the evening. When he had left, Yoongi planned on staying in to get work done and Namjoon was headed out to a bar. He had invited Hoseok to come along but Hoseok had refused the invitation and went home. Sometimes if he was extremely tired, he would just crash at Yoongi’s place but tonight he wanted to sleep in his own bed. He thought about calling up the girl he had been seeing recently but didn’t want to disturb her, seeing that it was already late in the night. Hoseok sighed to himself.
En route to his house, he had this feeling as though he was being watched. But there were still a good amount of cars on the road despite the time so he just put it out of his mind for the time being. He pulled up in front of his place shortly after and got out. He stopped at the back of the car to get something out of the trunk. Before he could shut it, he was thrown to the ground by the explosion of his house. His body was tossed in the air, landing a couple feet away. Hoseok lifted his head trying to comprehend what happened but his vision was blurred and his ears were ringing. His vision went out and fell unconscious on pavement.
~~~~~
You were having a good day at work. It wasn’t super busy but there were a few customers that visited the store. You kept yourself occupied by putting away dresses and assisting other people when they needed it. You hummed to the music playing in the speaker above, occasionally smiling to yourself. It has been a few days since you last heard from Yoongi but he never left you thoughts. At first you had thought he had abandoned you but after the last moments you two shared, you figured that he was just busy and couldn’t see or talk to you. You smiled and bit your lip thinking about how he kissed you. He held you so soft and gently. Just thinking about it made you excited and your panties wet. Hyolyn wasn’t exactly thrilled to hear about you and Yoongi making up. She was worried about how he would treat you but still supported you nonetheless. She just wanted you to be happy.
Your smile immediately dropped when you spotted Mina walking into the shop. The way she rushed in made her movements a bit frantic. You finished putting away the stack of dresses before you approached her. She was already sifting through the racks of clothes quickly scanning each item before moving it aside to check out the next one.
“Hi Mina. Is there anything I can help you with?” You asked. She looked at you briefly before turning her attention back to the clothes.
“Hey y/n… and yes you can help me. I’m going out tonight and I’m looking for a dress that will 'wow’ everyone including my stupid ex boyfriend, Yoongi.” Your heart skipped a beat the moment his name was mentioned.
“What did he do this time?” Your supervisor asked, coming over to enjoy the conversation. Mina rolled her eyes.
“He’s seeing someone! Can you believe it?” She asked flipping through the clothes in a rage. Your supervisor gasped in shock and your heart dropped. In order to not give yourself away, you played along and tried to act shock too. But deep down inside, you felt like shit. Mina didn’t deserve this. She loved Yoongi and here you are screwing him. It was different before because you didn’t know who she was talking about but now you know who the mystery man is, and you still chose to stay with him. You were breaking Girl’s Code and knew you had to come clean, but you were afraid to do it.
“He… he’s seeing someone?” You asked timidly.
“And you want to know how I found out?! His phone! He had messages from somebody he refers to as 'doll’. I should have copied the number and called it when I had the chance.” Mina found a violet colored dress that was very explicit and walked over to the dressing room to try it on. You followed feeling sick to your stomach. What would have happened if she did copy the number and called it? “That’s not all! His two best friends walked into the room about to talk about her but stopped when they saw me. So of course I question him about it and he told me that it was none of my concern. Can you believe that?! The nerve of him!”
You stood by the velvety curtain listening to her rant, knowing that it all came from a hurt place. You could hear all the malice and disgust in her voice as she spoke, trying to forget what she would sound like if she knew the girl was you. Even though Mina wasn’t currently dating Yoongi, you knew that she still really loved him and was waiting for him. Did Yoongi feel the same way? Using you as a filler until Mina took him back? You felt the tears come to your eyes before you pushed them back at the sound of the curtain drawing. Mina came out, spinning in the dress.
“Ta Da! What do you think?” She asked you, slowly turning around so you could get a better look. She walked to the center of the showroom to check herself out in all the mirrors. It was a nice long sleeved dress but not only was the dress really short but the entire thing was mesh. Her breast and private areas were only being shielded away by a couple of gems and stones. If she really wanted to grab someone’s attention, this was the dress to do it in. But of course, the dress made her look even more stunning. You stuttered, looking for the right words to say.
“You look great.” You supervisor cut in to say. You smiled and nodded your head in agreement.
Mina smiled and shut to curtain to change. You waited for her to stuck her arm out to hand you dress so you could ring it up. After awhile, she came out and joined you on the other side of the counter.
“Did you want me to ring it up under his name or yours?”
“I’m paying today and this little number is sure to make his mouth drop, too bad he won’t be able to take it off of me.” Mina stated smartly. “I want him to really think about his choices. Does he really want to leave someone like me for some slut who is probably only after him because of his power? His little 'doll’ who probably has no backbone and let’s him have his way with her… I sort of feel bad for the chick. She has no idea what she is getting into.”
Mina paid for her purchase and took the black garment bag containing the sealed dress from your hands and walked to the door. “I’ll let you guys know how this baby works. Have a good evening!” And with that, she was gone.
You felt a little worried watching her leave. She was a woman on a mission trying to prove to Yoongi that he made a mistake. You it knew the wrath that was coming the day when everything would be laid out on the table. You sighed, rubbing your face and returned back to work.
It was nine fifteen when you had clocked off of work. It was just you and your supervisor who was left alone in the store after the other employees had gone home for the night. She tried to make small talk as you both tidied up the store but you refused to engage in conversation and only answered in one word sentences. After what happened between the two of you, you didn’t want to build a relationship with her. You only wanted it to remain casual so instead of talking, you focused on your job so you could leave.
As you left the store, you walked to your car, surprised to see a familiar face waiting for you. Yoongi stood, leaning against a shiny black car, arms crossed and legs crossed at the ankles. He was dressed in all black and his dark hair was slightly parted at the side, blowing in the wind and making him look unbelievably attractive.
“It’s about time.” He stated, standing straight. You couldn’t believe that he was even there.
“What are you doing here?”
“I wanted to see you. Is that so surprising?” Yoongi raised an eyebrow at your reaction.
“Yes,” you giggled. “I just have to get use to it.”
He scratched his head debating on what to say and you could sense something was wrong but you were afraid to ask. You were scared to hear whatever news he was going to bring.
“Is… is everything okay?”
Yoongi sighed and shook his head. “No. It’s not.”
Your heart dropped and you figure it had something to do with Mina. You were just waiting on him to tell you so. “What happened?”
“Hoseok, he was hurt in an accident.” Yoongi didn’t want to tell you. He didn’t want to get you involved with what was going on in his life but he knew that you genuinely cared about Hoseok and vise versa. He also knew that Hoseok looked out for you and tried to bring clarity to his eyes during the times when you couldn’t.
When you heard the news it broke you in a way that you couldn’t comprehend. Namjoon always flirted with you but Hoseok cared for you. You didn’t want anything to happen to any of them.
“What happened?! His he okay?! Please tell me he’s okay…”
“He’s okay. He escaped with a few scratches to his face and body but he’ll be fine.”
You breathed a sigh of relief and embraced him wrapping your arms around his neck. Yoongi held you back, pulling you close to his body. “You really had me scared, Yoongi,” you smiled. “I was gonna make it up to you.”
“You still can. I want you to take a ride with me.”
“Where?”
“You’ll see.”
He walked around to the passenger door and held it open for you. With no hesitation, you climbed inside and waited for him to join you. You breathed the fresh scent of the car, smelling the faint scent of his cologne. Yoongi got behind the wheel, started the car, and drove off. He pulled out of the parking lot and on to his destination. Your supervisor watching everything from the store window.
The soft relaxing music played through the speakers as you laid back against the leather seat. You stared out the window at the scenery of the city. It was vibrant and so full of life. People were still out walking about while the lights from the stores and buildings lit up area. You looked over at Yoongi and noticed that his gaze was straight ahead. His right hand gripped the steering wheel while his other hand rubbed his chin as he drove in deep thought. You didn’t think he knew but it was the little things he did that made you want to jump his bones. Smiling, you turned your focus back to the outside. You noticed that the bright city was getting further away and the car was driving past the quiet residential homes. The small homes then became further apart and a lot bigger. The car slowed down and stopped at a very tall black gate. A security guard in a booth nodded to Yoongi before the gate opened. Yoongi drove down the narrow pathway until they reached the front of a huge mansion. You looked up at the large home in awe.
“Why did we stop here? Whose house is this?” You questioned. Yoongi chuckled, cutting off the car and getting out.
“It’s mine.” You were confused but got out of the car as well.
“What are we doing at your house?” You were about to walk by him but he grabbed your arm and pulled you towards him, crashing his lips against yours. Your eyes closed and your arms wrapped around him. You parted your lips and immediately welcomed his tongue. Yoongi gripped your shirt, pulling on your waist. Your lips were just as sweet and soft and he couldn’t get enough of you. He didn’t know how but he found the strength to break away from you. He kissed your lips one last time before he held your hand and led you into his house.
Your amazement continued the moment you stepped foot inside. Everything was so furnished and modernized. He had two staircases leading upstairs; his living room was spacious and was decorated with white and black furniture. His 'floor to ceiling’ windows overlooked his property while his glass side double doors led to his outside pool and hot tub. Yoongi left you to finish checking out his place as he walked into the kitchen. You wandered around becoming more and more impressed. His house was cleaned spotless which really surprised you because you pictured Yoongi being a complete slob. He was always busy so when did he find the time to clean up a place like this. After a while Yoongi came back out to find you.
“Are you hungry?”
You shrugged, still looking around. “Maybe just a little.”
“Well then, let’s go eat.”
You turned to face him. Yoongi was leaning against the wall staring at you. You walked over and stood in front of him. “Lead the way, Mr. Min Yoongi.”
He led you into the dining room which had a very long table like the ones people use during conference meetings. This table could hold thirty people, tops. Yoongi held out a chair for you at one of the longer ends but you stopped him.
“Do we really have to sit so far apart?”
Yoongi rolled his eyes in annoyance. He had forgotten how difficult you can be. He moved your seat to the center of the table and sat across from you so you two can be within arm’s length. You jumped from shock when you saw five staff members dressed in all white with plates food in their hands. They sat the food front of you and everything looked delicious. Your mouth watered at all the colorful variety dishes. Yoongi smirked to himself, you looked happy like a little kid with dessert in front them.
“Wow, Yoongi. What’s the occasion?”
He waited until after he was poured a glass of champagne to speak. “After what I did when you cooked for me… just consider this my apology, okay?”
You smiled and nodded. “So did you cook this?”
“Everything was prepared by my chef.”
“Oh… do you know how to cook?”
Yoongi glared at you from behind his glass. When he slammed it down so hard, you thought it was going to break. “Let me assure you that I know how to cook, and I’m a great cook at that! But why would I cook when I’m paying someone to do that for me?”
You looked away from him and down at the plates of food. You didn’t mean anything by it or wasn’t trying to insinuate that he didn’t possess cooking qualities. Sighing to yourself, you knew nothing was going to change between the two of you. Yoongi immediately sense a change in your demeanor and knew he was fucking this up. It was hard to change the way he did things to adjust to what someone else wanted.
“I’m sorry, I’m still getting use to this but I do want you to enjoy yourself.” When you didn’t say anything and ate quietly, he tried to a new tactic. “I still haven’t taken you on that date that you had asked. How about I’ll cook dinner for you?”
“Do you promise?” You asked looking up at him.
“Just pick the date and time.”
“How about you take me out to dinner then cook for me another time.”
“Anything you want.”
The two of you ate the remainder of dinner in silence. There was a little conversation going on but you were both weary of what to say since it could somewhat start a disagreement. After dinner, his chef and paid staff for the evening left for the night leaving you and Yoongi completely alone in his house. You both had moved from his dining room to his kitchen. You were sitting on the large island while Yoongi went to his cellar to retrieve a bottle of wine for you. Since you had been there, he had taken off his jacket, leaving him in a black shirt and pants. Your eyes traveled to bulging veins in his hands and arms as he opened the bottle to pour you glass. You slowly took sips while glancing around the enormous kitchen. You couldn’t imagine living in such a large place by yourself.
Yoongi couldn’t help but stare at you while you were distracted. Even though you were still in your work clothes, you looked beautiful. His eyes roamed over your body, traveling up your legs to the center of your thighs. He licked his lips averting his gaze somewhere else but they seemed to come back, resting on your private area. Yoongi took a swig of wine from the bottle before walking over to you. He stood between your legs, running his hands over your thighs resting them on your ass. You tried not to focus on what he was doing but it was hard. You didn’t want to get wet for him because he could always tell right away when you were needy.
Yoongi took the glass from your hand and sat it down beside you. He leaned forward and kissed up the base of your neck to your chin and to your lips. At first the kiss was gentle but then it became very heated very fast. He held your head in his hands while yours gripped his shirt. You sucked his tongue into your mouth, playfully fighting with his. Without warning, he broke the kiss to go back down your neck. He kissed down your collarbone, stopping at the top of your breasts. In one motion, he ripped your shirt open. The sound of scattered buttons hits the floor. You were about to protest to the fact that this was the second shirt he had ripped but Yoongi quickly attacked your lips, shutting you up. When he was done, you sat there anxiously waiting on him to continue his ministrations. He slowly opened your blouse, exposing your black push-up bra. Yoongi ignored your breasts, kissing a path down your stomach. He gently laid you back on the counter, letting his tongue dip into your belly button. When he came to your pants, you lifted your hips so he could easily slide them off. He tossed your pants on the floor, staring at your black lace panties. Yoongi unconsciously licked his lips again, spreading your legs wide to his view. He leaned forward and kissed the top of your panties, breathing in your scent. The smell of you made his mouth water. He couldn’t wait anymore and moved your panties to the side. Your wetness was already running down to your ass. Yoongi stuck out his tongue and licked the trail up to your lips, sucking them into his mouth. You close your eyes the moment his tongue touched you. You were beyond turned on and couldn’t believe that it was even happening. Out of all the times you two had sex, Yoongi had never eaten you out before. He flattened his tongue and licked up, spreading your lips so he could taste more of you. He parted your lips with his tongue and roughly licked your clit before sucking on the tiny bud. You moaned out, arching your back from the counter. You were trying but it was hard to keep your legs open. It just felt so good. Without realizing it, your fingers were digging into his silky dark strains, pulling his face closer to you. Yoongi got the hint and buried his face between your legs. He was man-handling you, licking and sucking so roughly that it made your eyes water. He even had to hold your thighs open after you kept moving. Yoongi was amazed at how wet you were. Not only were you dripping, but a puddle had formed under your ass and his chin was covered in your juices. He was devouring the hell out of your pussy on his kitchen counter and you nearly came when he started to tongue fuck you. His pink muscle invaded your walls as his fingers played with your clit.
“Fuck!” You squealed out, trying to push Yoongi away from you. “Yoongi, stop. You’re going to make me cum.”
“You’re a big girl. You can take it.” He mumbled into your heat.
He flicked your clit over and over as his tongue entered and exited your pussy, searching your walls for that spot. Your stomach tightened as you felt the buildup of your orgasm. Yoongi felt your legs tense up and knew he had you. He kept to the same pace, listening as you hollered at the top of your lungs, struggling to break the connection between the two of you. But you couldn’t hold back anymore and came in his mouth. Yoongi licked you clean, making sure to catch every last drop of you. You figured he would stop when he was done but he didn’t. He removed your panties, letting them join your pants on the floor and continued to eat away at your lower half. This time he licked two of his fingers and inserted them into your wet center as he French kissed the rest of you. Your body twitched at the feeling, gripping his hair at the scalp. By now, tears were running down the side of your face. The feeling was so overwhelming that you thought you had died and went to heaven. Listening to your screams and how your body reacted to him was music to his ears. He had wet his dick inside you multiple times, but now that he has had a taste of you, he didn’t want to stop. Yoongi twisted his fingers, feeling for that sponge-like button to press. The moment he did that as his tongue massaged your swollen clit, your body began to convulse on the hard surface. You clinched your eyes shut as your stomach tightened for a second time. You cried out his name as you came, falling back to catch your breath. Yoongi removed his wet hand and worked quickly to remove his clothes. He smeared your sweet nectar over his hard cock, stroking himself as he climbed up on the island with you. He wasted no time getting inside you, feeling you velvety wet walls pull him in. You both moaned out from the feeing and Yoongi had to still himself to prevent from coming. It has been too long and he wasn’t going to stop until you are limping from his house.
When he was able to adjust, he began to fuck into you, rocking you into the counter. He became distracted by your half clothed body and helped you shed the remainder of your outfit. Yoongi watched the way your breasts bounced with each thrust before he launched at them. He sucked a purple bruise into your soft tissue then took the entire areola in his mouth, flicking your hard nipple with his tongue. And when he was done with one tit, he attacked the other in the same fashion. You were a moaning mess knowing that your third orgasm was right around the corner. Yoongi nibbled his way back to your lip, kissing you roughly. The taste of your pussy was still present on his tongue as they massaged against each other. He rose up on his hands as his hips rotated, making you take all of him. Your head fell back as you let him have his way with you. One of your hands held on to his hips while the other held on to the edge of the smooth surface. He knew he had found your spot when your pussy squeezed tighter around him. Yoongi continued to abuse your spot, watching you come undone under him. You were so close but without warning, Yoongi pulled out and turned you over on your stomach. He spread your legs further apart, plunging deep into you from the back. You held on tightly to the side of the counter as he rode your ass to oblivion. The movement of both bodies had knocked over the wine glass. It had fallen onto the marbled floor, breaking instantly. But you both were too preoccupied to even notice. You poked your ass into air, grinding your pussy back against him increasing the pleasure for the both of you. Yoongi leaned forward, covering your back with his body. In this position, his cock slide even further until he was hitting the wall of your cervix. Your body jumped and tried move away but you were trapped in place.
“Don’t run.” He groaned in your ear. “You’ve been such a good girl taking my dick so far.”
His hand gripped your hair, pulling your head back as he peppered kisses on your neck. He gave you short, hard thrusts, pounding away at your insides. It only took a couple more thrusts before you were tapping out and he was filling your pussy to the point where his cum was overflowing out of you. You both laid there all sweaty and panting.
Mina was walking up to her apartment after a fun night out. She had felt that wearing the dress had served its purpose. She had met plenty of men that were either trying to get her to go home with them or come over to her house. But she turned down each one. She was hoping to get arise out of Yoongi but he wasn’t even at his club. She had hoped that he would see her from his office and come to get her but that was all fantasy. Deep down, Mina felt a bit hurt. She wanted the attention of her ex boyfriend and nobody else’s. She knew that he was the only man for her and had proved it countless times but she was stupid and wanted more. Mina knew she would have to make a decision with Yoongi. To either love him how he is and feel a bit neglected or risk losing him to another woman.
~~~~~
“Ready to go again?” Yoongi asked, kissing a trail down your neck.
“Again?” You giggled with astonishment. “But we fucked three times already! In the kitchen, in the shower, and just now on your bed. And now you want to go again?”
“I’m just making up for lost time. I had to spend three months without you.”
Yoongi leaned forward, giving you soft kisses on your lips. Your hands wandered across his bare back, pulling him closer. The two of you playfully kissed until the moment was cut short by Yoongi’s phone ringing. He broke away to search for the phone which was located at the end of the bed.
“Can’t you ignore it?” You whined, trying to pull him back to you.
“Not when it’s business.” He grabbed the phone and climbed back on top of you kissing your lips once more before answering.
“Min.” As he listened, you planted kisses on his neck, not wanting to be ignored.
“Yoongi?…” When he heard the soft feminine cries on the line, he quickly sat up.
“Mina?” His voice was laced with worry. You sat up on your elbows, trying to listen in but also wondering why she would be calling. “Mina, what’s the matter?”
She sniffed trying to collect herself. “Yoongi, someone broke into my apartment.”
“What?!” Yoongi leaped out of the bed, looking for some clothes to quickly put on.
“I came home and my door was open. They trashed everything. Yoongi… I’m so scared.”
“Stay right there, I’ll be on my way.” Yoongi hung up the phone and finished getting dressed.
“What’s going on?” You questioned, wrapping his bed sheet around you.
“Someone broke into Mina’s place. I’ll be right back. You just stay here.”
“If it’s serious, why doesn’t she call the police?”
“Because she called for me.” Yoongi was about to walk out of the bedroom but your voice stopped him.
“But why you?”
He turned around to face you and you could tell he was a little annoyed. “Because she called ME, not the police and I’m going to make sure she is alright. Make yourself comfortable here.”
“How long do you plan on staying there?” You asked, starting to feel a little sick to your stomach.
“I can’t do this right now, y/n. We are having a good evening and we will finish it when I get back. Don’t ruin it with your insecurities.”
Yoongi left out of the room and twenty seconds later, you could hear the faint sound of a door closing. You fell back on the bed, feeling your heart breaking again. You didn’t want to feel like number two to Mina but what could you do? Yoongi just left you naked on his bed just to tend to his ex girlfriend. Feeling alone, you grabbed your phone and dialed the first number in your call log.
“Hello?” Hyolyn’s sleepy voice answered.
“Hey… I’m sorry, did I disturb you?”
*Hyolyn looked over at Matthew’s sleeping body, watching his bare back rise and falls.*
“No, I was just lying down. Is everything okay?”
You wiped your eyes, not wanting her to detect the sadness in your voice. “Yes, everything is fine. I was just a little bored since Yoongi stepped out for a while. What about you? How is your night going?” It was a slight pause before she spoke.
“It went better than I ever could imagine.” You were quiet, wanting to come clean about what just happened but you didn’t. “What about you? How is your night going?”
You close your eyes and did a soft internal sigh. “Yoongi picked me up from work and took me to his house. He had his chef make us dinner.”
“Wow, maybe he’s not a bonehead after all. But why did he leave?”
“I had told him that I wanted ice cream so he went to the store.” You lied, feeling like shit.
Hyolyn giggled. “So what will you do now?” You shrugged your shoulders knowing that she couldn’t see you.
“I guess I’m going to explore his 'over the top’ mansion again.”
“Try not to get lost.” *Matthew suddenly shifted in his sleep and Hyolyn whispered into the phone* “I want details on how the rest of the night goes so you better call me in the morning.”
“Deal.”
You both had ended the call and you got up to look around, wrapping the black sheet tightly around you. There were a couple rooms on the second floor but noting too major because Yoongi’s room was the largest and took up much of the space. You even checked out his walk-in closet which was slightly larger than your living room at home. Feeling defeated, you climbed back into Yoongi’s bed, waiting for him to return. You tried to keep a positive mind, hoping that he wasn’t going to her house because they missed each other. You sighed to yourself, deciding to play with your phone to pass the time.
~~~~~
Yoongi made it to Mina’s apartment in recorded time. He was worried that whoever this was had targeted Mina and he couldn’t imagine if he had lost her. When he had arrived, he found her waiting by the curb in a very short, over exposing dress. He grabbed his spare gun out of the glove compartment and stepped out of the car. Mina embraced him right away, crying into his arms.
“Oh Yoongi! I’m so scared! This has never happened before.”
He held on to her closely to him, leading her back towards her apartment. Once they made it to her door, Mina frozen in place while Yoongi continued inside. He had the gun loaded and ready to fire at whoever was lying and wait to attack. Immediately, he took notice of all the furniture that had been overturned. Vase and picture frames were broken on the floor. He continued on to the next room, only to find the same thing. Each room looked like a tornado just hit it. But after thoroughly looking around, he didn’t see an attacker. Nobody was there. Whoever did this was long gone now. Yoongi walked back to the front of the apartment to find Mina. She on a small concrete stomp but when she spotted him, she quickly stood.
“They’re gone. The place is empty.” He stated, putting the gun on safety and sticking it in the back of his pants.
“So what should I do now? I’m not going back inside!” She yelled frantically.
“You don’t have to. I’ll put you up at a hotel for the night. Tomorrow, I’ll have someone come by and fix everything. Anything broken, I’ll replace.”
Mina locked up her apartment and Yoongi escorted her to his car and drove to the nearest hotel. He checked her in and even went up to the room with her to make sure she was okay. Mina fell back on the white fluffy comforter, kicking off her heels. She looked over at Yoongi who was staring out of the window.
“Can you stay the night?” She asked, waiting on him to say 'yes’. Yoongi turned around to stare at her.
“Actually, I can’t.”
Mina gotten up and walked over to him, wrapping her arms around his neck. “Of course you can. I can’t remember the last time we stayed in a hotel.” She leaned forward and kissed his lips and he kissed back. He held her close to him and Mina broke away to plant kisses on his neck, mumbling into his skin. “Stay here with me.”
It was then that Yoongi remembered that you were at his house. Still waiting on him to come back. He lightly pushed Mina away, rubbing his hands through his hair and down his face.
“I can’t stay. I have to go back home.”
Mina’s face contorted into a frown at him. “I’ve just received the scare of my life and now you want to leave me to go home?! What’s so important at home and why aren’t I there instead of in this stupid hotel?” Yoongi didn’t answer. This was the first time that he had seen Mina act so irate. “Unless… 'she’ is there. Isn’t she? Your fucking 'doll’?! You have some whore in your bed?!” Mina cried in her palm. She couldn’t believe that he would do this to her. She thought that he had loved her and was deeply hurt that he was with someone else at that moment. Yoongi sighed in annoyance and walked to the door.
“We will talk later, Mina.”
“No we won’t, Yoongi! I bought a new dress for you, showed up to your club to surprise you and you’re not even there because you’re too busy screwing some bitch at home! Fuck you! I hope you rot in hell! You and your 'doll’!”
Yoongi didn’t say another word, he simply just left. As he walked down the hallway to the elevator, he could still hear Mina crying followed by the sound of glass breaking.
~~~
He arrived back home within fifteen minutes. He walked inside and heard nothing although all the lights were still on. His initial thought was that you had left but a check of the bedroom contradicted his suspicions. There you were, snuggled up under his comforter, asleep. Yoongi undressed and crawled into bed next to you. He leaned over placing soft kisses to your bare shoulder. You groaned in your sleep but still didn’t move. His lips moved up your shoulder, to your neck, to your ear as his hand slowly glided up your thigh coming to rest between your legs. Using his middle finger to gently stroke your clit. He put the small flap of skin in his mouth, nibbling on it before letting go to whisper in your ear.
“Wake up, before I eat you again and have you screaming my name.” A smile slowly spread across your face.
“Yoongi,” you whined. “I’m tired. You’ve exhausted me out.”
“Not yet, I haven’t.”

Sorry, Doll (Steve Rogers x Reader)
Tumblr media
gif credit (I cropped Bucky’s face out of this just for the prompt but I still feel weird about it)
Summary: Steve is hurt on a mission, and when he comes home to your apartment, he does his best to try and avoid waking you since he knows you’d worry too much. Although, it doesn’t exact roll that way. Because he can never get away with hiding his pain from you. But he loves you for it.
Word Count: 1027
Warning(s): blood, stitches
A/N: y’all are probably annoyed with me saying it but i don’t like this one as much as the others. hope you guys do though!
Prompt: Could I request an angsty/fluffy one shot of steve coming home late and hurt from a mission and reader wakes up and takes care of him? - anon
The amount of times Steve had to jostle the keys in the door alone should have woken  you. But he got lucky. Though, now, he knew he was walking on eggshells. Once Steve stepped into the apartment, he carefully pushed the door closed, relieved when he managed to successfully save it from slamming shut. He set his shield against the wall, hissing quietly to himself as he did, the cuts along his back screaming in pain. He knew they’d be healed by the morning. He knew if he could just make it to bed, if he could somehow manage to slip in beside you undetected…
Steve did his best to move quietly across the living room towards your bedroom, though every step sends a jolt of pain up his leg from his undoubtedly sprained ankle. The mission had been a success, but even with the serum pumping through his veins, it didn’t save Steve from the few blasts he took from enemy grenades as they infiltrated yet another Hydra outpost. His face was caked with dirt and ash, blood seeping through the black dust and dripping down his face from a cut above his eye. He could feel every cut, every bruise, though not as intensely as someone other than him probably would. The last thing he wanted was for you to see him so beat up like this. He knew that you worried, hated that you did, but understood why. He would be fine, he really would be, but he knew that if you saw him like this, he wouldn’t be able to get out of you trying to help.
The creak of the bedroom door almost gave him away, but the only reaction was his own, cringing as he slipped inside and closed it behind him. In the darkness, broken only by the ray of moonlight shining in from the window, he could just make out your frame curled in the sheets, sleeping soundly. Maybe he would manage to get away with it. He didn’t think he could forgive himself for interrupting how peaceful you were.
Careful of his ankle, Steve pulled off his boots and tossed them aside, pulling off his uniform bit by bit until he was down to his shorts and t-shirt. The bleeding from the cuts over his chest and back had stopped bleeding, unlike the deep one above his eyebrow, but the evidence was in the stains on his white shirt. Sighing to himself, Steve shot a look over at your sleeping form before he attempted to pull it off, figuring it much easier to explain healing cuts than a bloodied shirt.
But he couldn’t help the groan that rolled off his lips as the fabric tugged away from where it had stuck to the wounds.
“Steve..?” Your groggy voice called. Steve sighed heavily, letting his head hang as you shifted in bed to look up at him.
“Yeah. It’s me.”
“Oh, god.” And then you were up, crossing the room to him, eyes wide and full of the concern he didn’t want to bring on you. “You’re bleeding.”
“It’s all right, I’m okay, (Y/N), really. I’ll be fine by the morning. You know that,” Steve tried. But he knew he wasn’t going to get away with it.
He watched as your eyes narrowed in a glare, taking in the still bleeding cut. “Bathroom.”
It wasn’t a statement. It was a demand.
Steve raised his hands in defense, knowing not to argue this, not wanting to anger his girlfriend, especially when all he wanted was to wash his face and join you in bed. And especially not when he had tried arguing it before, many times in the years you’d been together, and every time ended with Steve caving and letting you nurse him.
He walked backwards towards the master bathroom, hands still raised. “Okay, okay, I’m goin’.”
You were practically pushing him in there without even touching him. Steve’s lips curved in a tiny smile. The little dimple on your chin when you were worrying had made its appearance, and even though this wasn’t the time to be smiling, he couldn’t help but admire it. Even when you did actually push him so that he was sitting down on the closed toilet seat.
He knew not to talk as you went to work patching him up. Plasters here and there. Bigger ones for bigger cuts. But, even when you numbed it, the worst part was always the stitches. Especially when this one was above his eye.
As you were finishing up, Steve finally broke the silence, unable to help himself from carefully reaching out to rest his hands on your hips as you leaned over him. “I’m sorry I woke you, doll.”
His face was turned up towards yours as you worked, but your eyes were focused elsewhere. Although, when he spoke, he caught the brief gaze in his direction.
“Well, next time,” You paused, only to cut the excess suture thread and then set the scissors on the bathroom counter. Your hands fell on his shoulders, finally giving him the satisfaction of looking into those eyes he’d fell in love with a short three years ago. “Don’t try and sneak past me. You haven’t gotten away with it yet, so maybe it’s time to stop trying.”
Steve chuckled, pulling you a bit closer. With everything patched, his face washed of the dust, he admittedly did feel a lot better. Enough to bring you to sit on his lap. Your hands moved to his cheeks, smiling softly, tiredly back down at him as his arms wound around you.
“Noted,” He murmured before stealing a gentle, brief, but loving kiss. His eyes fluttered closed for the short moment, indulging in the feeling of having someone to come home to, to take care of him, for him to take care of and love. When he opened them again, he gazed up at you adoringly. “Can we go to bed now?”
His smile only widened as you laughed, running a hand through his messy blonde hair. “Yeah,” You murmured, pressing a kiss to his forehead before sighing. “Let’s go to bed.”
