Okay! Firstly, the AU takes place in New York, not in the sewers but in carols house/apartment, as she takes care of the turtles (besides gremlin) the time it takes place is around 2018 (same as the show)

In the AU the shredder has been defeated (or trapped) by Splinter sacrificing himself, that's why this whole AU got started, so the villian will most likely be someone else. (Prehaps bishop? Or maybe someone else)
