I would love to write/read some grown up Ha Yesol fic. Yesol grows up and grapples with the truth. Yesol meets Moon Dongeun. Yesol finds out where Jaejun is, what happened to him. Yesol learns about the extent of her mother's and grandmother's atrocities. Yesol becomes friends with Seonah on a school trip to the States. Yesol uses her father's influence to do something bad and then vows to never use it again. Yesol throws yet another laptop in the bathtub and deals with the consequences. The fanfic potential is immense if I do say so myself :'D

it's so easy to mistake the way yeonjin treats yesol as a form of love, like she's cruel and nasty but not to her daughter and while it may be true, i wouldn't categorize it as the typical love a mother has for her daughter. yeonjin views her daughter as a prized possession, like a trophy. of course she wouldn't want her possession to get hurt or tarnished or tainted or taken away from her, she uses yesol as a tool for fuel her own delusional narratives about herself. she believes she loves yesol and perhaps she does in her own way, but she's inevitably doing exactly what her own mother did to her. when it came down to it, yeonjin would rather protect herself than sacrifice her reputation for her daughter. all she had to do was apologize and she couldn't do it, this marking the final block needed for her undoing. it's easy for yeonjin to love yesol as a child, but i can't imagine it would carry out as yesol grows older with her own opinions.

What’s so wrong about being a single mother to a two year old when you are barely 23? You knew what motherhood would bring you. Even if your daughter’s father did not wish to be a part of her life, you knew you wanted her to see the world.

It’s not that they didn’t know. It’s that they didn’t care. You do wonder if they don’t take your words seriously. If your “no” has no meaning to them. It’s not everyone but most of them. You could count Jaemin out because he was nothing but a sweetheart to you. And so he’s allowed to meet your daughter.

“Say Nana,” he mouths the syllables so that your daughter can repeat it. He’s trying to teach her his name first. Yesol giggles, more intrigued by his ear. She’s trying to grasp it instead of repeating the syllables. Jaemin, maybe loves her a little more every day because not only is this little child a fragment of you but also a pure soul that just warms his heart. He could just look at her play all day. Just hold her all day. Sometimes, he wonders why Yesol can’t be his daughter. Why can’t you be his lover, his wife, not some coward’s? These thoughts often flash through his mind only when he’s around you or Yesol. Maybe it’s just that he yearns it so much, or maybe it’s just that-

“Da-da.” His thoughts crash. Yesol pokes at his cheek and repeats it again, “Dada!” a happy squeal. “Oh no- my angel. It’s Na-na,” he tries again. He can’t betray your trust. You had been away from dating and men for a reason, and his actions shouldn’t lead you to think that he’s using Yesol to get to you, “Come on, my angel. It’s Nana.”

“Dada!” A happy giggle and a soft smooch to the cheek, she was gladly poking. He looks around to see if you are around. He doesn’t know if he can rectify this, but he at least needs to let you know of this.

Unbeknownst to him, you were watching them be the daughter and the father. You can only blame yourself for all the troubles. It’s selfish to wish for him to be there for Yesol; be there for you, but your greedy heart wishes it more every day. The feelings between the both of you were obvious. He knows it, and he knows why you are hesitant to act on it, too. Maybe that’s why it’s your time to take the first step. If Yesol should have a father, it should be him. If you should give your heart to a man, it would be him.

You go to them, settling down as Yesol jumps into your arms, “Mama! Dada! Choco!” she excitedly shows the chocolate, half-squeezed and half-melted, “Yes, my baby. Dada gave you chocolate.” You kiss Yesol’s head softly, turning to look at Jaemin. He’s already looking at you, soft eyes searching for answers, “Can I assume something?” he asks, taking in your silence. You hum, “Assume what, Jaemin?”

“Dada! Choco pwease!” he laughs softly, giving her another one, “this is the last one, my angel, hm?” his attention is back at you after pressing a soft kiss to Yesol’s head. “Can I assume that us is possible?” You press a gentle kiss to the side of his lips. A silent affirmation.

REASONS TO LOVE THE GLORY PART 2

WE HAVE A perfect anti-heroine. She doesn't pull random crap from any direction and have a new motive every time she loses a loved one. (yeah, she doesn't wait for someone to die to get her shit together either)

She isn't trying to save the world, she is just trying to move on and yet she manages to save more people than what most leads can.

She doesn't half ass shit, she took 20 years to fully fund her plan, get an education and fucking get them all.

She is actually a good person, nobody on this drama as a character has to vouch for that or explicitly say how charming she is. SHE JUST godamn gives her biggest bully time to surrender and go to police herself so she wouldn't have to take revenge and her family wouldn't be suffering.

She is self aware, revenge isn't the best way to do it so she plans to off herself but the people around her know she don't deserve it. There is no scene in the drama where Dongeun's revenge is glorified to a point it seems its okay for antiheros to do fucked up shit with some cool instrumental playing in the bg(scene where MDE calls JJ to get the pervert straight in line, she accepts it is crappy since yesol and HDY had to sort of see that)

She gives people what they deserve, and she finds happiness(she shouldn't have to earn it but she does)

SHE isn't perfect but she does try to have sympathy for people who have been by her side and looks out for them.(reasonable, no love at first sight nonsense, all the people she helped have proved their worth around her.)

She isn't getting justice for the whole world just the ones who have been through the same shit as her and logically tries to make a coherent plan do it all.

DID I say she don't have any supernatural strengths like she breaks down, has ptsd and requires support from YJ's character.

She doesn't wear cool suits and ramps around everywhere to deliver retribution but she kinda plays people like guitar strings and have them kill eo(thanks to her years of stalking skills)

Chemistry between two characters in this drama isn't bait for you to watch this drama. The drama itself is the bait, SHK is fine as hell. As much as I love a romance, this one is just fine as it is.(LDH and SHK are a cute duo, not everything needs to be angsty. Some things are nice when two nice people are together and in love. I'll die on this hill.)

I am voicing my concern for people who don't find LDH and SHK's chemistry palpable. SHK and Jung Sungil look good but ldh and shk flow better. Given the fact, this show has a character who went through a lot, why would she ever choose the bully's ex over a ray of sunshine?

There is no miracle bird that saves the day so the writing gets all the credit lol.

SIDE NOTE: This might be Song Hye Kyo's best drama but also the the best drama out there. some of y'all should not forget this girl has been on the top for over 20 years for a reason. I'd love to see well written stories written around main characters such as this but there aren't many. Multilayered female characters who are not in romance dramas >>

Doyeoung is a good dad for getting her out of that situation as fast as possible, his daughter is innocent and should stay that way.
