Yesol nasceu em Busan sendo a filha mais velha de um CEO de uma empresa com foco em tecnologia financeira e de uma renomada cirurgiã plástica, crescendo em um lar repleto de luxo e expectativas sociais. Desde pequena, sua vida foi marcada por um clima de pressão constante, mas uma questão ainda mais complexa a acompanhava: uma deficiência auditiva que começou a se manifestar lentamente. Nos primeiros anos, seus pais não perceberam a gravidade do problema, acreditando que Yesol estava se desenvolvendo em seu próprio ritmo; com o passar do tempo, a condição foi piorando, fazendo com que a garota se sentisse cada vez mais isolada em uma família que parecia não querer enxergar sua condição.

Quando seu irmão mais novo nasceu, a dinâmica familiar se alterou ainda mais. it's so easy to mistake the way yeonjin treats yesol as a form of love, like she's cruel and nasty but not to her daughter and while it may be true, i wouldn't categorize it as the typical love a mother has for her daughter. yeonjin views her daughter as a prized possession, like a trophy. of course she wouldn't want her possession to get hurt or tarnished or tainted or taken away from her, she uses yesol as a tool for fuel her own delusional narratives about herself. she believes she loves yesol and perhaps she does in her own way, but she's inevitably doing exactly what her own mother did to her. when it came down to it, yeonjin would rather protect herself than sacrifice her reputation for her daughter. all she had to do was apologize and she couldn't do it, this marking the final block needed for her undoing. it's easy for yeonjin to love yesol as a child, but i can't imagine it would carry out as yesol grows older with her own opinions.

" yesol says absentmindedly , with her nose scrunching and her brows crinkling at the center . she's doing exactly what he says he wouldn't do , sitting and sulking as though the mere prospect of having to share yongguk with his crush was offensive in itself . she didn't know why the idea left a bitter taste in her mouth , but what she did know was that she preferred having him all to herself . " mhm , lots and lots . maybe even more than you , guk ~ " yesol teases , the playful lilt of her voice mimicking his own as she leans forward for added effect . her amusement soon falls short the moment she watches him move toward her in demonstration , a tiny yet breathy oh escaping her slightly parted lips . her heart began thrashing loudly about in her chest the clearer the picture becomes . rather than pulling away in respect for his crush like she should , yesol welcomes his touch as though it were the right thing to do . I know I'm being so annoying posting about every single scene but it's MY sleepover and I get to choose the obsession.

So Dongeun just got out of one of the worst confrontations in the show, it seems while everything else healed over her mother is still an open wound in her soul, and at her most vulnerable, in the middle of the night with no one around, the worst possible one of the gang shows up. Now to make it clear, her hatred might be focused on Yeonjin as the leader and culprit of everything that was done to her, Jaejoon and Myeong-o dealt her wounds the girls did not. How much of it was unclear but her reaction to his touch and proximity and So-Hee being pregnant when she died, says enough.

So there she is, shaken and not prepared for this confrontation and he is all in with his jealousy and anger flaring because of Yesol and Doyeong. He seems to hold all the power in the scene, this is the first time in their adult lives Dongeun is being bullied again but she won't give up and get out of her car, she revs up, a bluff both of them are painfully aware of it. He isn't even slightly fazed, he has no doubt in his mind she can't do it, and he seems sure he'll be able to get her out of her car to put his hands on her as he wants.

THEN, as if the roaring of her cars engine was a call for her executioner, his car swerves in between them, putting Jaejoon in the mud. A perfect demonstration of him completing her 1%, what she won't or can't do, he will. He buys her time and room to get out of this situation, asking Jaejoon "Be careful. You don't want to die, right?" and then "If you keep standing there I'll hit you this time" which are perfectly in line with his banter but Jaejoon feels gaslit by their interaction, no way feels threats from the speech of some drunk kid who can't drive. Right?

despite being the child of an underboss , yesol did not have direct exposure to violence growing up . her father was a meticulous man when it came to keeping her separate from his private affairs ; and no matter how meticulous he was , she had to wonder if he let violence linger when he lovingly brushed her cheek with blood underneath his fingernails . in that moment , she wished she were exposed to it , maybe then she would have known what to do . " how - what do i- fuck ! " yesol rambled , voice slightly pitched . " we need medical attention stat . " she decides , mind occupied with the other to notice the blood dripping down her arm .
