as per req. from @koobinn
Their thoughts on David? Or which deals with what situation or what triggers a switch?
ok INDIVIDUALLY. foxhound era since thats our favorite :)
null is wary of pretty much everyone. if anyones the type to self isolate, its him. that being said, hes most attentive when it comes to matters of either work or matters of big boss. null is bibos little guard dog (affectionate) SO hes more suspicious of david than he is caring of him. especially since he Does Not vibe with miller or ocelot AT ALL. david getting special attention only makes him more of a concern.
frank... honestly doesnt know him, really! very VERY rarely does he so much as show up in headspace while theyre at foxhound. it just isnt his business and he stays away from it. what DOES get him out while hes there is getting letters from naomi :) thats his sister :) naomi :) but even then, he knows better than to do just about anything while hes around. hiding them away until he dissociates back out. otherwise, he'll only sorta be present in headspace at most via positive triggers.
fox :) dave thats his little guy. its funny not knowing whats wrong with you and only getting a name for yourself way later but yes he steals the name gray fox away from the rest for himself. he mainly exists in spaces where a certain level of camaraderie is necessary while out on business, but he doesnt usually do the work himself (hi null!) that being said, he IS the king of pretending to be human for the sake of establishing (superficial) relationships w his peers. he just has a very distinct personality of Faking Everything because if he thinks too much about his purpose as an entity he'll start itching for pain. which, ha, is a pretty big trigger aside from established environment. specifically self-requested/initiated harm. ironically grounding Specifically for him. but yes :) dave he likes that guy thats his little guy who doesnt mind when fox acts weird and does what hes told and is cute while doing it and (no this isnt love, i dont even know what that is!)
and as a special treat, mr ninja... ah ninja, you elude me still, but i can say insofar as that involuntary pain/harm is one of his bigger triggers, pulled off of null when he split, actually! he knows david as a Name, more than anything. a concept which establishes [an end]. he isnt nearly a masochist (i can literally tell you whos fronting where in mgs1 cutscenes somethings wrong with me), but rather just an entity who exists in a weird bubble of ignorance and simplicity (also pulled off null. post mg2 null is, how do i say, Different from pre mg2 null). very (tell me what to do and ill do it), holding onto the idea of (needing to die) and (snake killed us. he can do it again).

General 1 and 5, and romance 1 and 7!
Thanks for the ask🧡🧡🧡!! I love talking about my favorite girl Cordelia
From this OC question thingy
General
1. Where can your Tav be recruited?  Are they first encountered on the Nautiloid, or in the Nautiloid crash region?  Or are they not recruitable until a later act?
Cordelia is around the nautiloid crash. You find her in a pretty dress (that was not meant to be worn outside for long but especially not in the wilderness) in thin slippers that, again, do little to protect her feet from the wild.
5. Are there any instances where your Tav can permanently leave the party, depending on player character actions?
Yes! Cordelia is very Good, or tries to be based on what she knows about goodness from her fairytales. Doing anything too obviously villainous will make her want to leave, but she will be afraid to for her own personal reasons. If she stays, she won’t like you. If she stays it’s because she feels forced to (the alternative is unacceptable)
Romance
1. Is your Tav a romanceable character?  Are there any specific requirements to romancing them?
Yes! Cordelia is romanceable, and really you just gotta be sweet to her. She’s probably used to little flirtations that don’t mean anything given her background, but that changes after the first big moment with her. I imagine once her approval is high enough, you can trigger a cutscene where you encounter her dancing in the rain with magic, weaving it into pretty colors and shapes.
This moment leads to a conversation in which you can genuinely show your admiration for her, so she knows that the flirting has intention. That it means something. She’s a bit of a slow burn, though. She likes to be romanced sweetly
7. What questions can Zethino ask the PC about Tav in the Love Test?
Goooood question. Hmmm maybe
“If she was part of a fictional story, what kind would it be”
“What is Cordelia’s biggest dream?”
And uhhh I’ll have to think on what the other questions are. I think it 3 total, but it’s been a minute since I played.

Are there any moments in the game that trigger unique dialogue for your character?
Do they have their own personal quest that spans the course of the game? Can it take different branching paths depending on the choices the Player Character makes?
COMPANION QUESTIONS
YES TO BOTH, these are both actually so incredibly detailed that i'm working on a doc (my mind is huge and i will create even the tiniest of content as if he belongs in this game) that will have all of this in one place BUT i will go into some of the details here since all of it is still a wip
UNIQUE DIALOGUE
There's a druid in the grove that has contacted Dareth to be here. You do not know who they are but there is a particular redhead that finds her way to the ox stables where Dareth sits. You can ask him who she is if you find them in conversation but he will not let you go far about it. HOWEVER if you manage to find her back near the druids, she will let it slip that her and Dareth are "friends".
If Tav does not find out Dareth is a werewolf on their own, a long rest cutscene will begin with the full moon. A perception check will determine whether the player is able to hear something in the woods and further investigation checks will lead you to Dareth beginning to shift. He will warn you to stay away. Run if you can. A tree of options include: Try to help. / The player stays with Dareth as he shifts and must make an animal handling check to soothe the beast. A failure isn't damning, the player will simply be frightened as Dareth roars in their face. Do as he says. Leave. / Tav gets to the safety of camp, you can discuss the night prior with Dareth who has returned (with a condition that I have to figure out and name until another long rest, his version of astarion's 'Happy') Attack. / As it says you attack Dareth and he either kills you or you kill him.
PERSONAL QUEST
this is a HUGE WIP but Dareth's personal quest lies in Act II the first time you enter moonrise towers. It's hard to bring Dareth in, as he doesn't have a tadpole, but if you do, Dareth will be immediately recognized here by someone who he thinks he does not know.
Eventually he will realize that this is his childhood friend, Ship. Currently, they work under Kethric and are inherently a threat. Dareth will beg you to not do anything, even as Ship taunts the group. It will take a series of checks to make sure Ship does not attack the player, Dareth being around possibly gives situational advantage.
Ship can be brought to camp and Dareth will ask you to help him work with his friend and bring them back to their senses. He fears he will have to put them down like a rabid dog otherwise. You can learn more about both Ship and Dareth during this quest and it will unlock a lot of dialogue with Dareth as he will be more open to speak with you.

HEY GI FOR THE TAV QUESTIONS, General 1 for Jacksell and General 7 for both your boys.
Tumblr media
One Jacksell pictured, Nowhere is on this one.
General 1 Where can your Tav be recruited?  Are they first encountered on the Nautiloid, or in the Nautiloid crash region?  Or are they not recruitable until a later act?
Jacksell is found near the goblin camp. If you do not find him by wandering around, getting too close will trigger a cutscene where he approaches you. If Wyll is not in the party, he warns you of the danger, and explains he is scouting to learn about this cult of the Absolute. He is more than happy to join with fellow tadpoled individuals, and advertises him as a hero, the Black Dragon of the Backlands.
Possible Dialogue, Requires Wyll recruited
Tav: Oh boy, another one.
Jacksell: Another one what?"
Tav: We've already got one hero, the Blade of Frontiers.
Jacksell: *laughter* [DevNote: He is delighted, this is good news, and he is amused by it.]
Jacksell: You got the Blade? I need to see this, you are letting me come with you, yes?
At this point, regardless of Player Choice, Jacksell will show up at Camp to talk to Wyll. (Another chance to recruit him).
If Wyll is in the party, appearance unaltered, Jacksell's greeting changes to "it would be like The Blade to stroll directly in. I bet you have a war cry ready too."
Jacksell and Wyll know each other and do a bit of light ribbing, as they're both Folk Heroes, and have met before. They have a bit of a friendly rivalry.
If Wyll's appearance is altered, Jacksell's greeting changes. "I- Blade, is that you? Bahamut's shinning scales." He's clearly startled by the change, "but, ever the hero I see, ready to charge in and save the day." The rivalry is toned down here, in favor of a bit of support.
General 7 Do they have their own personal quest that spans the course of the game?  Can it take different branching paths depending on the choices the Player Character makes?
The Tiefling from Nowhere - Nowhere's quest is about finding where he belongs. He would admit that he's nothing special compared to the rest of the party, no Warrior of Hell, or great Wizard, or secret Vampire (if Astarion's secret it out). He's not running from something, sworn to anyone, in fact, he was heading to Baldur's Gate because he recently lost/left his job due to rising anti-Tiefling sentiments. He was planning to move back with his parents and start over in Baldur's Gate.
Player Choice absolutely matters, as if Jahiera is recruited, they strike up a strong friendship, and Nowhere can be encouraged to join the Harpers. Other options, include remaining an adventurer, staying with the PC as a traveling companion, or, settling in Baldur's Gate, in the life he thinks his parents want. That one's the erm, bad end. He'll never be truly happy like that.
The Dragon's Inheritance - Jacksell's personal quest begins with him explaining that he was in Baldur's Gate looking for someone, and he needs to return there to look for them, or leads if they've moved on. Eventually, after the Scare with the Tadpole, Jacksell will reveal that he has a personal concern.
His Clan boasts that it is descended from a Black Dragon, and urban legend says that if one of them gets powerful enough, they will inherit the Dragon's powers. He fears the Tadpole may be attempting to turn him, in order to get an Elder Brain Dragon.
Eventually he will reveal that he's looking for a younger sibling, who was bullied by their Clan, and left. He believes they might be seeking the inheritance he mentioned before, as they were a talented magic user. "Wizard prodigy I think, though I suppose not all of them can attract the Goddess of Magic."
He has multiple endings too, but that's all act 3 spoilers. Like big ones.

@spr8nkler-ful
You've triggered my unskippable cutscene.
Okay so BASICALLY the thought I would have is that since the Pokemon used every run change in nature and stats, the idea is that PokeRogue functions on Nuzlocke rules and fainting = dying. This means that for every timeline reset, the main characters, who do stay the same in this AU I'll pick some favourites, are reincarnated and have to start their adventure over again from the beginning
You get your three starters, you have three characters who join the party later, I'm thinking... Protagonist keeps their memories. Everybody else is quite literally out of the loop.
And they just have to fight their way through this mystery dungeon style purgatory until yes they defeat Eternatus.
In my head I'm thinking about making it some kind of reference to Dante's Inferno (stay with me) because PMD dungeons and Pokerogue are split into floors (levels) and I've repeatedly compared it to a purgatory
So
These are adventurers who have, under the influence of Eternatus, fallen into a puragtorial loop of death and rebirth where they have to fight to the death against the other teams also trying to get out. Nobody has their memories but the protag so they all think this is an ordinary dungeon and a total free for all
The protags job is to 1. Recruit members without sounding like he's crazy 2. Win the gauntlet 3. Defeat Eternatus and free everybody
And now I have to draw this so I hope everybody is at peace with that
Posts related to this AU in the future will be tagged #pmdrogue AU so I can keep track of them
Pokerogue would be a great setting for some OCs actually
Like it's PMD style where these Pokemon are sentient and on this adventure right where they're fighting their way through the gauntlet
But also they're actually trapped in a purgatory style time loop of dying and killing over and over
Idk I think that kinda fucks

Kenma Kozume x F Reader
- Late night in Las Vegas for a convention, Kenma is a high roller with an excellent poker face
WC: 1.3k +
Genre: SFW / Fluff
You never would have thought that Kenma’s streaming would take you to Las Vegas for a convention but here you are. Dressed to the nines on his arm as you wander through the enormous hotel.
As Kenma stops to take a call, you stare longingly into the windows of the luxury retailers as people walk past dressed from streetwear to evening gowns. While you don't think you could ever afford anything from those stores you know all too well that when people hit it big they like to ride out their high buying something that normally they would never buy for themselves. All the while the mantra of “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” plays through their heads as they swipe the card.
Suddenly, you feel Kenma’s grip on your hand as he leads you away from the windows and out to the floor. Where there are slot machines from wall to wall. Normally, he doesn't like being around all the people but since it's basically a giant arcade he doesn't mind. Seeing all the buttons and screens makes him feel right at home. Walking through the rows of machines he comes across a row of card tables and can’t help but be drawn in like a siren's song.
“ Ken, you should go play.” You say giving him a little squeeze, His golden eyes seem to sparkle.
“Are you sure? We can go play something else together,” he asks, trying to look impartial but is unable to actually pull it off.
“Yes, go play, I can meet up with you in a bit,” you say as he slips you a small wad of cash and leaves before you can object.
Using your boyfriend's charitable donation to your gambling fund, you decide to find yourself a fun-looking slot machine. Wanting to make the money last as long as you can, you choose to place the minimum bet and enjoy the bonus spins and random cash triggers that appear on your screen.
After a while, you realize that you ended up doubling the money you started with, which is way better than your initial goal of breaking even so you choose to cash out so that you are only playing on the house's money and not your own. Hitting the floor again you try to find another machine to play on. You settle on one in a more secluded area of the casino. Right off the bat, you hit a bonus as little coins and happy dings lead you to an interactive cutscene. You are having so much fun you don't realize that someone is watching you play from behind until they clear their throat.
Turning around you see a lone man in a stained white t-shirt, his fingers are curled around a cigar and he is just staring at you blankly. “Can I help you with something sir?” you ask tensing up protectively as he sways closer to you.
“Hey there gorgeous, how about you turn in the little ticket you have there and join a winner like me in my room,”
“No thank you,” you say, sending him a glare of painful neutrality as you do your best to ignore him. Waiting for your cutscene to end so you can leave with your earnings and find your boyfriend in a more populated corner of the casino.
You feel his gaze on the back of your head as you cash out. Before he can say anything else to you you stand and walk briskly away, losing him amongst the crowds and pillars hoping that security will take care of him if he makes a scene elsewhere.
After taking a long way back you finally find Kenma back at the table he went off to and you can hardly believe your eyes. He has a mountain of poker chips at his side, you thought you were doing well today but he has most likely made enough to cover the cost of the whole trip and then some.
Sliding next to him you give his shoulder a squeeze, ``Wow Ken, you must be doing really well.” you say as he gives you a small smile before returning his attention back to his cards.
When he chooses to play the plays aggressively noticing the tells of everyone at the table and takes advantage of their weaknesses. Like when he was playing Volleyball, he is able to throw his opponents off with a single glance.
It’s ridiculous how good he is at games like this. A guy from across the table is trying to bait him into making a hasty move but he is proving to be unshakable. But that is what is to be expected of Kenma Kozume; a professional gamer, and CEO of a startup company.
“Hey buddy, you don't look too sure about this one. You should let the big boys play this one” the man says condescendingly as he slides a fair amount of his chips into the center. Unmoved by this lackluster performance Kenma moves his cat-like gaze to start directly in the man's soul and says “You're bluffing,” Before shoving his whole mountain of chips in the center.
“I'm all in,” he says seriously. As the dealer stares at him wide-eyed.
You’re kinda freaking out beside him because you didn't see his cards, even if you did you wouldn't know what was a good hand and what would be a bad one. You tighten your grip on his arm as the people around him fold.
As he reveals his hand, the man across the table swears at the Royal FLush your boyfriend just played as the chips are returned to him.
Once all his earnings are gathered he takes his pile of brown poker chips and leads you to where you can cash them in. Once you see the amount handed to him in cash you know for sure he made a lot of money.
“You really are Amazing Ken Ken,” you say as he flushes a bit at the attention. You pass the creep from earlier and hold on to him tighter moving your gaze to the floor.
He notices you upset and hurries up waiting till you are in the confines of the glass elevator before asking you.
You take the whole ride back up to your suite to explain what happened earlier and by the time you are done Kenma is staring daggers at the people below as if he could see the creep from the 51st floor. “I’m sorry he was bothering you, Let me make it up to you,'' he says, leading you back to the room.
As you enjoy the amazing suite bathroom amenities Kenma goes and orders desserts from hotel room service. Once it arrives you sit on the king-sized bed in your complimentary bathrobes and enjoy apple pie alamode and molten lava cakes while watching your favorite movies.
“Ken, did you have a good time today?” you ask him as you wipe a bit of ice cream off his cheek.
I did, I think I’m pretty good at poker he smiles “We should check out the other hotels tomorrow before the convention”
“Mmm we should,” you say leaning over to lazily kiss him as you struggle to keep your eyes open amidst the oncoming dessert coma. He pulls you into his side making sure to move the empty plates over to the nightstand for housekeeping to take care of tomorrow.
“How about we take you to some of those stores and get you some of those clothes you were looking at earlier,” he says softly as you give a sleepy smile, happy to be here with him.

Companion Guide: Ori Lavellan
Tumblr media
Original template from @dextronoms, art by @tzedekart
Inquisitor’s Name: Ori Lavellan
Alternate Name?: None
Race, Class, & Specialization: Elf, Mage, Spirit Healer/Fire
Varric’s Nickname for them: Firecracker
Default Tarot Card: Strength (bravery, compassion, protection)
How they are recruited: Ori is part of a group of Dalish elves from the Free Marches that have come to assist the rebel mages. She can be found in the Hinterlands, tending to the wounded in a refugee camp. She will initially be standoffish with non-mage or non-elf Inquisitors, but through conversation will reveal that a nearby group of bandits have stolen most of her medical supplies and she fears those she is treating will die without them. If the party locate the bandits and retrieve her supplies, the Inquisitor can ask her to join the Inquisition as they need talented medics such as herself.
Where they are in Haven: Ori can be found near the pier, past the soldiers, where she has set up a small fire and healer’s tent. She will be tending to the injury of a soldier resting on her cot, and she will be singing under her breath quietly. There is a cutscene with Cullen where the Inquisitor happens upon the end of an argument between the two, and observes Ori take a swing at the commander before storming off. The Inquisitor will comment on her aim, and Cullen will nurse a split lip. If the Inquisitor asks what the argument was about, Cullen will say that Ori grew up in Kirkwall and there are apparently wounds that are still raw.
Where they are in Skyhold: Ori will be outside the infirmary, watching the courtyard, though sometimes she may be either tending to injured soldiers, or observing the sparring ring. Most of her cutscenes take place in the courtyard area. With a high enough approval, the Inquisitor can inquire about her past, and she will divulge that she was born in the Kirkwall, that her parents were killed by Templars raiding the alienage looking for elven apostate children to take to the Gallows, and that she left to seek out her mother’s clan in around 9:34 Dragon. Her opening dialogue at Skyhold begins with her covering the body of a dead soldier, but thanking the Inquisitor for saving so many lives.
*     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *
Things they Generally Approve of:
Greatly Approve -
Making the mages allies
Saving all the civilians in Haven
Putting Briala in Power
Drinking from the Well of Sorrows (Elf Inquisitor)
Gaining approval from the Dalish (if in party)
Approve -
Compassionate choices in judgements
Completing side quests that help civilians, mages or elves
Allowing the Grey Wardens to join the Inquisition
Picking the infirmary upgrade for Skyhold
Slightly Approve -
Killing Red Templars
Exploring Elven Ruins
Dialogue options that are chantry and templar critical
Things they Generally Disapprove of:
Greatly Disapprove -
Making the mages prisoners
Recruiting the Templars (without disbanding)
Reuniting Celene and Briala
Keeping Celene in power
Selling the Dalish history to the chantry
Clan Lavellan killed
Disapprove -
Supporting Cassandra as Divine
Allowing Morrigan to drink from the Well of Sorrows (Elf Inquisitor)
Claiming to be the Herald of Andraste
Letting Cullen interrogate Samson
Telling Cullen to continue taking Lyrium
Slightly Disapprove -
Killing Dragons
Lying to Dorian about his father’s letter
Making Cole human
Dialogue that is critical or derogatory towards elves
*     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *
Mages, Templars, Other?: Ori is resolutely pro-mage. If recruited before In Hushed Whispers/Champions of the Just, and the mages are made prisoners or templars not disbanded, she will leave the Inquisition unless the Inquisitor is an elf or a mage, in which case she may be persuaded to stay, but she will still greatly disapprove. Several of her further dialogue options are locked off, and it will be impossible to complete her personal quest. If she is not sought out until after the quest and either of these choices were picked, she will be permanently unrecruitable.
Friends in the Inquisition: Varric, Iron Bull, Cole, Krem, Sera, Vivienne (if questioned about their differing positions regarding the Circles, Ori will remark that she and Vivienne disagree but she has a great deal of respect for her, and values her opinion highly).
Rivals in the Inquisition: Cullen, Cassandra, Morrigan Neutral towards: Dorian, Solas, Blackwall, Josephine, Leliana
Romanceable?: Ori is not romanceable by the Inquisitor, though flirt dialogues are available for all races and genders. If the Inquisitor is persistent enough, it will trigger a cutscene where the two are alone, and the Inquisitor leans in to kiss Ori. She will pull away and apologise, saying that she hadn’t meant to lead the Inquisitor on, but that she is in love with someone else. If Anders was romanced in DA2, Ori will remark that her affections are unrequited.
*     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *
Small Side Quest: A Night of Revelry Ori will mention to the inquisitor that the elves that are part of the inquisition are feeling quite homesick, particularly the Dalish that have been separated from their clans, and she would like to hold a party for a night to allow the elves to celebrate their culture, with traditional Dalish songs and dances. If the Inquisitor agrees, Ori asks them to acquire some ingredients so she can help the kitchen make food in preparation. Once this is complete and the items delivered to the kitchen, a cutscene will trigger with Ori inside the Herald’s Rest who is stood on a table singing whilst a very large gathering of elves joins in, interjected with cheering and whistling. A space has been cleared for a dance floor and there is a band of elvish musicians playing where Maryden usually is. Ori will notice the Inquisitor as her song finishes, and she comes to talk to them and thank them for allowing them to have such a special evening.
*     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *
Companion quest: Sanctum Santorum Note: This quest is only available when approval with Ori is very high. A cutscene will trigger where Ori is poring over a map, and will jump when the Inquisitor appears. She will look visibly nervous and flustered, and asks very seriously if she can trust the Inquisitor. The Inquisitor replies with yes, and Ori will then say she has managed to track an old friend to somewhere in the Emerald Graves and asks the Inquisitor to go with her and help find him. The next time Ori is in the party in the Emerald Graves, a small cutscene will trigger where she notices a mark on a tree and remarks that “he must be close”. The search function is then used to find three more signs (blood from an animal carcass, flattened grass from someone sitting or lying down, and the remnants of a fire,  the last being outside a well-hidden cave. A magical trap is triggered and the party must fight off several angry spirits. When combat ends, a cutscene is triggered of the Inquisitor and Ori creeping inside the cave at night. A spell comes flying out the dark and both characters dodge, then a voice shouts from further in “don’t come any closer!” The Inquisitor goes for their weapon and Ori places a hand on their arm and shakes her head. She then lights a flame, illuminating herself, the Inquisitor and most of the cave, shedding light on a small, dirty campsite situated right at the back, and a cloaked figure with a staff raised to attack. She then says quietly, “Anders? It’s me. It’s Ori.” The figure slowly drops their staff, then steps into the light and pulls their hood down revealing themselves to indeed be Anders. He squints at the pair for a moment, and upon recognising Ori, breaks into a smile and hugs her tightly. Dialogue then follows where Ori reveals her long-standing friendship with Anders and the Inquisitor can ask about their history. If questioned, Ori will say she supports Anders’ actions at the end of DA2, and will remark that it pained her to see a place of worship destroyed and lives lost as a result but after all the evil she’s seen, she knows it was necessary. After dialogue is finished, Ori will thank the Inquisitor for coming with her, and beg them not to say anything.
Option 1: Let Anders go. Ori will greatly approve of this choice. If this option is selected, the Inquisitor will promise to keep Anders’ location a secret, and hopes they can meet one day in better circumstances. Ori and Anders will say their goodbyes, and Ori and the Inquisitor will depart. Back at Skyhold a cutscene will trigger where Ori is sat by a window reading a letter and smiling, and when prompted, will say it is from Anders. She will thank the Inquisitor again, and say that she lost contact with him when she left Kirkwall to join her mother’s clan, so she’s glad he’s safe and that she can keep an eye on him again. If the kiss scene has been played, the Inquisitor can comment on Ori’s feelings for Anders, asking if he is the person she  had previously referred to. She will agree, and either comment sadly on Hawke being who makes him happy, (if he was romanced in DA2), or blush and say she hopes one day she will pluck up the courage to confess to him. There is a dialogue option for the Inquisitor to encourage this.
Option 2: Bring Anders back to Skyhold for judgement (unlocks the quest The Judgement of Anders).
Ori will greatly disapprove of this choice, and will be visibly upset, telling the Inquisitor she trusted them and feels betrayed, and will not listen to any justifications for this decision. It will be impossible to engage in dialogue with her until The Judgement of Anders is complete; the first attempt to do so will trigger a cutscene in the infirmary where Ori shouts at the Inquisitor, for all subsequent attempts she will simply reply “leave me, I have patients to care for”.
Follow-up Quest: The Judgement of Anders
Ori will be present in the main hall during this judgement.
If the Inquisitor pardons Anders, Ori will greatly approve. After the quest is finished, the next time she is interacted with, it will trigger a cutscene where the Inquisitor walks in on Anders and Ori holding each other, both crying and laughing. They break apart when they hear the Inquisitor, and Anders will smile at the Inquisitor, squeeze Ori’s hand and leave the room. Ori will then give the Inquisitor a tight hug, and thank them profusely. There will be dialogue about what Anders plans to do forthwith, and the Inquisitor has the option to invite him to stay on as healer at Skyhold, which Ori will greatly approve of. The Inquisitor will now also have the same dialogue options regarding her romantic sentiments from option 1. If Anders stays on as healer, then, Ori will then sometimes be found talking with him inside the infirmary. If not romanced in DA2, idle dialogue later in the game will imply that he and Ori have started a relationship.
If the Inquisitor conscripts Anders, Ori will have no approval change, but if the Inquisitor executes Anders, Ori will greatly disapprove and permanently leave the Inquisition.
Tarot card change:
Option 1 - If Anders let go: VI of Cups (reunion, healing, joy)
Option 2  - If Anders brought to Skyhold: X of Swords (betrayal, defeat, loss)
Option 3 - If Anders pardoned: The Star (hope, faith, renewal)
Option 4 - If Anders executed: III of Swords (heartbreak, suffering, grief)

Cole’s reflection on their thoughts:
“Panic. Screaming. Armor silver and sharp and unforgiving. Helplessness. Grief. So much anger. Family taken without warning. “In their blood the maker’s will is written”. A hole in your chest. Guilt. Guilt. Guilt. It’s my fault. I should have stopped it.”
“White lines where skin has healed but you still feel its bite. Dreams darkened by wretched smiles and pleas for mercy gone unanswered. Tears darken the dirt and water the roots of the tree that cries out in anguish for salvation that will never come.”
“So full of righteous fury. So determined to seek justice. A clenched fist, gritted teeth, a battle cry. An apron worn like armor. A voice for the voiceless. A flame inside that never dies. Always strong. Always caring. I will protect them. There is so much love inside you.”
“You love him. He sees you when no one else does. Words spoken through silence. Hazel eyes and healer’s hands. Soft smiles and gentle touches that feel almost holy. (If Anders was romanced in DA2) You whisper his name in the dark. It hurts that he doesn’t hear it, but you want him to be happy more than anything else.”

Comment(s) on Mages: (referring to the Circle) “No one deserves to be locked away for a circumstance of birth.” / “We’ve been fighting for so long. We just want freedom and peace.” / “Magic is a gift.” / “Our light will outlast this hatred.”
Comment(s) on Templars: “They claim to be peacekeepers, but they wield fear like a weapon.” / “I’ve never met a Templar I can trust. They’re all the same.”
When looking for something: “Keep your eyes sharp.” / “We should investigate.”
When finding a campsite: “We should rest.” / “This will be good for a camp.”
When the Inquisitor Falls: “Be more careful!” / “Not on my watch, Inquisitor!”
When they are low on Health: “It’s not wise to let your healer die!” / “Fenhedis!”

Travel Banter with Canon Companions:
Varric: It’s been a while, Firecracker. Ori: Indeed it has. It’s good to be adventuring with you again Varric. Varric: Just like old times! Though I suppose if we’re picking our favourite old times, I’d rather be drinking the liquor you and Daisy used to make than out here shooting demons. Ori: (laughs) I think the demons are easier to handle.
Cassandra: You are Dalish, Lavellan, but you were raised in Kirkwall? Ori: (curtly) Yes. Cassandra: Why did you leave? Ori: Templars murdered my parents. Cassandra: I’m sorry. Ori: I will not speak of them again. Not to you. Cassandra: What have I done to make you dislike me so? Ori: You stand for an order that has enslaved and murdered my people for generations, justify the imprisonment and oppression of mages, refuse to acknowledge the corruption in your own ranks and then choose to remain wilfully ignorant of why I have cause to distrust you. Cassandra: I… Ori: I would wish that you could spend a day in my shoes during my time in the alienage, Seeker, but I do not think you would survive it.
(If Anders was not romanced in DA2, and was invited to stay with the Inquisition after his trial) Iron Bull: So… Ori: So? Iron Bull: You and Blondie, huh? Ori: What about us? Iron Bull: Have you told him how you feel yet? Ori: I don’t know what you’re talking about.  Iron Bull: Sure. And I’m the Queen of Antiva.  Ori: Is it really that obvious? Iron Bull: Kid, you’re about as subtle as my horns. He’s about the only person in all of Skyhold that hasn’t noticed.  Ori: Oh sweet creators…
Vivienne: You are a very talented mage, my dear. Ori: As are you, ma’am. It is a privilege to watch you fight. I have learnt much. Blackwall: But you use different styles of magic? Ori: Frost and Fire are opposites yes, but Madame de Fer’s use of offensive ice magic informs my defensive fire, and vice versa. I learn how to better protect myself and exploit my enemy’s weakness. Vivienne: (smiling) Very astute my dear. We shall have to meet up to practice some time. Ori: I should like that very much, ma’am.
(if Blackwall was pardoned after his revelation) Blackwall: There have been many that have turned their backs on me, Miss Ori, but you have not wavered in your kindness. I am very grateful for that. Ori: I may disapprove of your original actions, Blackwall, but we have all done things we are not proud of. What matters is how we move forward.
*     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *     *
Leaving the Inquisition: (what do they say or do if the approval is low enough for them to leave?)
Ori will leave the Inquisition if her approval becomes low enough, or after choices she disapproves of after In Hushed Whispers/Champions of the Just or The Judgement of Anders.
Ori will be found packing her bags in the infirmary. If this takes place after Anders’ execution, she will be seen holding his mage robes to her chest and weeping. She will not acknowledge the Inquisitor until her name is spoken, and then she will turn around, visibly shaken and upset.
“I trusted you. I thought you might actually make a difference, that you cared. But you are just like the rest of them. You stand here claiming to be holy and expect me to believe that your God - any God - would condone this? You are drunk on power and your heart is bitter and cruel. I will not assist your crusade or become complicit as you remain blinded to the corruption running through the heart of your ideals. May your name and memory be erased. I pray we never meet again, Herald.”

Fic Prompts: Free Day Thursday
(More Everybody Lives au.)
Izuku hadn't expected the mysterious Shimuras to ask him to visit. Honestly, he hadn't even expected them to remember him. Ever since they'd moved out of intensive care, All Might had been visiting them every week. He never talked about those visits to anyone, as far as Izuku knew.
At least, not until he'd stopped Izuku on the way to lunch to tell him that "Tenko" wanted to see him.
"Keep in mind, young Midoriya," Toshinori said, "Young Shimura is...he er, bears an uncanny resemblance to a villain you have...history...with. And he is aware of that, so if you feel uncomfortable, or run into any traumatic triggers, don't hesitate to say so."
They found him playing with the PS Vita Izuku had leant him. As soon as Tenko moved, Izuku froze. All Might hadn't been exaggerating. Tenko's hair was loose, covering some of his face, and all Izuku could see at first was the scowl. He felt the ghosts of fingers around his throat.
Shigaraki?!
Beside him, Toshinori cleared his throat, and the young man in the bed jumped. He looked up at them, momentarily confused. Izuku could understand the feeling. Seeing an overall lack of scars and lines on Shig- Shimura's face left him disoriented, like he was looking at a doppelganger.
The first thing he said to Izuku, oddly, was, "How do you beat the giant Flan? It just party-wiped me again."
Then he lifted his bangs and got a good look at his second visitor. Tenko dropped the Vita and scrambled off the bed. He stopped a few feet from Izuku and just stared at him.
"Is he-? Is this-?"
Toshinori nodded. "Shimura Tenko, allow me to introduce my successor, Midoriya Izuku. Young Midoriya, this is...my predecessor's grandson."
Tenko gave them a bittersweet smile. "Oh wow, your hair really did stay that curly. Gram always thought the curls would go away when you got older."
Izuku blinked. Did this person know him somehow?
Tenko waved his hands quickly. "Ack! Sorry, wait, let me back up!"
He backed up physically a step, as if to emphasize his words. "Uh...let's see. Has Dr. Flashpoint's agency proposed Multi Theory yet?"
"The...thing about extra dimensions?" Izuku asked after a moment, "I thought that was a String Theory thing."
"Not...exactly..." Tenko said awkwardly. "Look, I'm really bad at science stuff, so you're going to have to be content with a terrible simile. It's like, uhhhhhh, it's like if you peel a stick of string cheese. It all starts from the same spot, but then one string goes left and one string goes right."
Toshinori shook his head and laughed under his breath. "String cheese," he muttered, "Egg in the microwave. Now there's two of them."
Izuku found that he was a little less put-off by the resemblance to Shigaraki now that he'd heard Tenko speak. Their voices were similar, but not similar enough to unsettle him too badly. He tried to work out what the older boy was trying to say, and it finally clicked that he was in the hospital with two Shimuras.
"Are you saying you come from one of those, er, strings?" he asked cautiously.
Tenko nodded eagerly. "Yes! Yes, exactly!" He held he hands up parallel to each other. "Okayokayokay, so. Let's say you're the string on the left, where Gram died when All Might was my age give or take. So here's Gram and me on the right, where Gran Torino was the one who died."
The thought weighed sickeningly on Izuku's mind. He couldn't imagine the thought of losing Gran Torino now that he knew the man. He swallowed hard.
"That's terrible," he managed.
Tenko took another step back and collapsed to sit on the end of his bed. "Terrible doesn't begin to cover it," he said glumly. "Creep for One couldn't stand being foiled by Number Seven. He escalated outrageously. Anybody we knew, anybody we loved, anybody I even met at school. All gone. Things went from dystopian to apocalyptic by the time we escaped."
Now he was afraid to ask. But curiosity drove Izuku to reluctantly say it anyway. "How did, uh, how did you know me, there?"
The older boy shuddered and looked away. "We were neighbors. Your mom half raised me when Gram and All Might had to work. It's not going to do anyone any good to talk about what happened to everyone in our timeline, so don't ask."
He rubbed his fingers together oddly, as if remembering a texture. "I guess you could say my string snapped in half. So we kinda...jumped to your string."
Izuku wasn't sure he believed any of that, but he still asked, "How?"
Tenko shifted uncomfortably. "...uh...I...may have stolen a villain's super-collider and combined it with a warp gate."
Well, that explained why he'd launched out of Kurogiri, at least.
"Singularly horrible experience, by the way," Tenko added, "0/10 stars. Do not recommend."
Despite himself, Izuku cracked a smile.
Toshinori cleared his throat and placed a hand on Izuku's shoulder. "My boy, would you be comfortable with me leaving you to get to know young Tenko for a few minutes? If you'd rather I stay, we can just go visit Nana afterwards."
Privately, Izuku thought that All Might probably wanted to speak to his mentor alone. He hadn't seen her since high school, right? Izuku couldn't imagine being separated from All Might for thirty years and then unexpectedly reuniting. He could handle a little discomfort if it meant All Might got to spend some time with Nana, Izuku decided.
"I'll be fine, All Might," he promised.
"I won't try to sneak into the waiting rooms this time," Tenko promised.
"This time?"
"Look, the food here is so bland my tastebuds cry," Tenko huffed. "Can you blame me for trying to find a vending machine?"
He waved Izuku over. "So...have you beaten XIII 2?"
Izuku was confused until he saw Tenko pick up the PS Vita. "Oh! Yeah, just recently. You can save over my file if you need room, I don't mind."
Tenko tugged Izuku down to sit beside him. "Okay, what is the deal with the One Ton Tomato flan and why can't I kill it?"
He turned the screen back on and Izuku peered over his shoulder. Then Izuku laughed.
"Oh! You're not supposed to kill it here, there's a cutscene coming!"
"You say that, but the only cutscenes I've been getting are the "Game Over" ones."
When Toshinori returned five minutes later, pushing Nana in a wheelchair, they found the boys huddled over the Vita. Tenko was yelling at the screen, and Izuku appeared to be trying to help him pick dialogue choices.
Well, at least they were getting along.

DMC Week Day 7: College AU
For my final entry for DMC week, I chose to write the trio as college students playing Final Fantasy XIV – Nero, V & Nico.
A self-indulgent AU fic (haven’t played Final Fantasy XIV in years) based on a few college headcanons.
Thank you to everyone and all that’s read my works during this week! Your support means a lot ❤️❤️❤️ Here we go, hope you enjoy!
Nero as Warrior, tank
Nico as Machinist, damage dealer
V as Summoner, damage dealer
***
Nero nervously stared at his health-bar steadily going down as attack after attack scratched down his life despite all the buffs his character had on. The controller vibrated furiously in his hands, his jaw clenched. The boss would be dead at any second and the healer was trying their best but the bad connection they had so far had was making Nero nervous. Wasn’t a heal long overdue? Weren’t their character just standing still?
“If you perish, I got Resurrection ready.” V said, his voice ever so calm that it actually made Nero grin. Was he ever happy he’d gotten himself this new headset that let him regulate game and party sounds separately? Yeah, they were in a bad spot, but the boss was so close to dead now. They’d get through it.
“Nico!” He called the second the limit break chime could be heard in his headset.
“On it!” Nero could basically hear the buttons on her controller being slammed, together with her laughter. “Eat this!” Nico’s machinist character pulled out the crossbow, ready for the shot that would send the boss to oblivion.
“Dammit!” Nero shifted his character as an AoE marker appeared under his feet, along with certain death as his health was reaching less than 5000. Even if V revived him instantly, Nero as the tank dying now might just spell their doom.
The boss inched after him, leaving the indicated line of Nico’s limit break. Winds whipped around their characters, but they all managed to avoid more injury.
“Whoa, whatcha doing?!” Nico exclaimed in disbelief.
“Just aim again!” Thrill of Battle was back off cooldown, restoring some of his health. Sweet.
“It got used up, asshole! Healer dc’ed!” Nico’s voice snapped his focus back. Another buff off cooldown and he used it.
“What?!” Did that have to happen at this crucial moment? One quick glance at the party list said ??? for the healer’s status.
“Nero, your Holmgang should be ready for use. Just hold on.” V calmly stated and Nero blinked as he realized V was right. Had he been counting seconds since the last four minutes??
“Fuck!” The progress bar over the boss’ life told him a tankbuster was coming. Nero waited, his finger on the trigger for Holmgang, his sweet 6-seconds of almost invincibility to save him if needed. He pushed the button, the bright orange line above the boss filled the entire way, the hit connected, the controller in his hands vibrating valiantly. Hit points sailing down to zero. Swears bubbled up in his chest, flowed out of him like a sailor when the boss started to move towards Nico. But it had sooo little HP left!
“I pushed the button, I swear!” Nero shouted in disbelief, heart pounding in his chest, did they really have to redo this??
A sharp blast of white light engulfed the boss, sending it to the ground and the screen faded to black for a second before the victory cutscene played, with Nero’s own character magically on his feet. This was why he loved having V as a summoner on their team.
“Freaking finally! We did it!” Nico celebrated. Nero grinned, feeling as if a stone lifted off his shoulders.
“Let’s check gear!”
“No healer means one less to compete with!” Nico singsonged, letting her character put her grabby hands on the treasure chest. A healer chestpiece popped up on screen. Nero’s sigh was mimicked by Nico, none of them were a healer, not even close. At least there was a Strength ring for him to grab.
Nero blinked as the notifications told him V had grabbed the healer chestpiece. Unprompted, the summoner spoke.
“Perhaps I should go as a scholar, for our next dungeon. Our luck with healers tonight has been… less than fruitful.”
“Nah man, continue with summoner if you want, we’ll be--”
“Do it!” Nico stated on the top of her lungs, her microphone bumping into her chin as she grabbed for a cigarette. “I wanna see the end of the next dungeon tonight!”
“I can go paladin for extra heals.” Nero shrugged, even if neither of his companions could see it.
“And give up that sweet damage, really?” Nico teased, making Nero huff.
“I can play defensively every once in a while.”
“Uh huh…” Nico snickered, while all he heard from V was a chuckle.
“What, I can! Come on, let’s go to the next one!” Nero prompted and grabbed for his soda, eager to go again. Leaning his head back for a sip, there were just two drops meeting his tongue. Damn, when had his beverage run out?
“As… enjoyable as progressing further would be, I am fairly certain you both have lectures in the morning?” V said matter-of-factly while there was a weak rustling of a book page being turned coming from his microphone.
“Yeah, so? I can do it for a bit longer--” Nero started, checking his phone for time. It was waaay too late! “It’s already FIVE?!”
Dry coughing made it clear Nico had just swallowed smoke.
“Y-y-yer…” Cough. “kid-ding!”
“Hell no!” Nero exclaimed.
“Why didn’t ya say somethin’?!” Nico coughed at the sole calm person.
“I did try to, both at one and three o’clock. You both were a bit too… absorbed in what we were doing.” V calmly stated, making Nero groan, oh yeah, they might have been into everything. It wouldn’t be the first time…
“I gotta scram, I’ve got an exam tomor-- today!” With that, Nico’s character was logged out, her voice chat icon offline.
Nero sighed.
“Hope that works out for her. What about you V?” The sign out option showed up at the click of a menu and Nero clicked himself out, the calming music of the title screen trickling through his second-hand headset that smelled of energy drink. At most he’d be able to get what, two hours of sleep? Was it even worth it at this point?
“I will attempt to sleep. I do not have a lecture until the afternoon.”
“Lucky you, vampire.” Nero snorted, his dormmate’s chuckle meeting his ears. “Catch you at lunch then?”
“If I have awakened until then, yes.”
“Great.” Nero knew he should log off, get some sleep. But damn, he didn’t feel sleepy at all. He knew something would keep him up, if he went now.
“Hey V?” He tried, hoping the other hadn’t shut off his headset just yet.
“Yes Nero?” V didn’t sound bothered by the quiet inquiry, despite being about to head to sleep. Nero inhaled, through his nose.
“I told you my grade dropped a bit, right? From last exam?” During the day, he brushed it off, no problem. But at night, it was hard to not feel some… nervousness over what could happen, if his grades dropped too much. Nero needed to keep it up, if he wanted a new scholarship and he not only wanted that scholarship, he needed it so badly to stay.
“Yes.” A pause, followed by V softly closing a book. “Are you worried it might happen again?” He softly asked.
Nero scratched his nose, V even knew before he voiced the issue? He wasn’t sure if he felt relieved or called out.
“Yeah, something like that. I know our subjects are pretty different…” No shit, considering V was reading the classical poems and literary works of people whose names Nero barely could pronounce. But V had great study technique, always fixing his assignments on time, something that Nero had failed to do, several times. He admired that, about the dorm vampire with a love for classical music. V’s voice was always a joy to listen to as well. Maybe he didn’t say everything he was thinking, but his voice was deep, calming at this late hour.
“But, you up for studying together? Someday this week? I think I need someone to help me not procrastinate so much and Nico is not that…” If anything, she either sat with her notes and realized she had found out something brilliant for her own studying, or she was digging the rock music Nero always put on while studying, just as much as he was.
“I don’t mind.” V replied, making Nero grin with relief over having one guy in his corner. “We can start with hiding your headphones. Or your Bluetooth speaker.”
“Right…” Maybe that wasn’t such a bad idea, Led Zeppelin did snatch his focus otherwise. Nero let out a small laugh. “But you’ll give the headphones back, right? I need those for my morning runs.”
“Hmm, perhaps.” His dormmate teased.
“Or you’ll come along on my morning runs to keep me company?” Nero tried, he had given hints to get V to join him in the fresh air, the early morning sun for weeks now.
“Too chilly for me, I’m afraid.” Was the soft reply. “I will retire for now, Nero. Do try to get some sleep.”
“Yeah, fine… Thanks V.” Nero’s eyelids actually felt a bit heavier now.
“You’re welcome. Goodnight. Or perhaps, good morning.” V replied with a chuckle.
Nero groaned, giving a goodnight before ending the voice chat.

Dickson
I was discussing some XC1 thoughts and observations with a friend, and we ended up talking about Dickson and Zanza’s disciples.
I’ll be taking the opportunity to share some more observations ramblings. This time about our favourite slimeball.
It’s a pretty long post, so I’ll be placing a ‘’keep reading’’ below.
Hope you enjoy!
When I played for the first time, he was this guy I really couldn’t put a finger on. Everyone else was more or less clear in intentions, and their character estabilishing moments gave off impressions that last.
To be fair, I still can’t put a finger on this mustachio.
With Dickson, it is unclear. His words and actions constantly contradict eachother. One time he’s a goody goody ally and helps out Dunban, and calls him a beast, which seemed a fitting nickname, the other time he absolutely stabs the main party in the back in one of the most epic plot twists I’ve seen. Upon replaying the first few cutscenes, it looks more like he wanted Dunban to die so Shulk gets the Monado, and that ‘’beast’’ nickname seems a lot more derogatory. He’s a Giant, one of Bionis’ first races, of course a Homs is a mere beast to him.
Yet in the cutscene with Metal Face right after the Ether Mines, beast remains an affectionate nickname of sorts, and he doesn’t call anyone else that way. He also seemed genuinely concerned with the whole Metal Face shenanigans going on, even helping out the party.
And that’s with Dunban, someone that could be considered a friend of sorts. With Shulk, it’s a whole different can of worms.
The interactions, the observations, all these moments he talks to himself, it’s hard to gauge whether he truly cared about the boy, or only cared about safekeeping Zanza’s vessel until his reawakening.
The game implies Dickson raised Shulk himself, took him under his wing and trained him. He taught Shulk the value of research and learning about the Monado as long it was in Dunban’s possession.  I have to say, we do not know when or how Dunban got a hold of the Monado, only that Dickson found the blade with young Shulk sleeping next to it. I could ponder on that bit, but I think that’s best left for another post.  Back to the topic on hand, Dickson took Shulk in. If he wanted to keep Zanza’s vessel alive, he could’ve easily tossed him into an orphanage and sponsored said orphanage. Or if he was friends with Dunban for a long time, he could’ve asked him to look after Shulk alongside Fiora.
It’s not like Dickson cares about the implications around tossing baggage onto someone.
Yet he took the boy in. He raised him. He taught him everything Shulk needed to know to develop on his own. I feel that alone contradicts his attitude in general.  Might he have felt any regret upon finding Shulk? Was it purely to keep Zanza safe? Or did he simply grow to care?
That’s pre-game. During the course of the game, Dickson is constantly encouraging Shulk to stay on the right track. The track of avenging Fiora and possibly ending up getting the world rid of the Mechon or even the Mechonis. That the one who killed Fiora happened to be a Faced Mechon and therefore Homs integrated with machinery was probably just another opportunity.
An opportunity to have Shulk climb all the way up to Prison Island and unshackle the Monado. Strengthening the chances of his God’s awakening.
Yet, there are moments where Dickson seems to be regretful about steering Shulk into that direction. That he really hoped that the kiddo would survive everything thrown his way.
These moments were when he was alone and talking to himself. There was no reason for him to lie, unless he is somehow aware that the world is a video game and there’s an audience.
I doubt that is the case.
A moment that stands out for me is moment right before Mechonis Core, when Dickson and Alvis opt to stay behind. Dickson seems to be worried and mentions something along the lines of ‘’I hope you’ll do what is right, Shulk.’’
He has caught on Shulk’s reluctance on mindless revenge and ‘’making the enemy pay, regardless’’ since Fiora ended up alive. He really hopes Shulk will make the decision he would have made if he had never found Fiora, but he seems doubtful of it.
Having doubt about Shulk’s future actions, Dickson knows he has to intervene if Shulk doesn’t kill Egil as intended.
The whole fact he is worried about it is strange. I doubt Dickson would behave this way if Shulk was just another vessel. Killing Shulk would simply complete his goals sooner.
Perhaps Dickson thought, or even knew, that there was a possibility Zanza would keep Shulk alive. For Dickson, or for Zanza’s own selfish reason, I don’t know. To Dickson, it might have been his preferred outcome, even if things would have ended up the same regardless.
That, and the fact he waited until the last possible moment for intervention. Mechonis had stopped moving long before Shulk got shot as Egil and Shulk had this lengthy conversation before shit hit the fan. Dickson would have known Shulk had either killed Egil, or didn’t, and could’ve gone up into the Core a long time before the shooting.
Did he go up as soon the Mechonis stopped? Did he stand there watching the events unfold, cursing himself and the boy?
Or did he just wait until he figured the party wasn’t coming down any time soon and went up and fired a shot as soon he saw things weren’t to his liking?
Did he hesitate before pulling the trigger?
Either way... I find the time taken to be very strange for someone who was pretty spontaneous with his actions the times prior.
Joining Dunban during Battle of Sword Valley and just going along.
Going to Fallen Arm as soon he realized Shulk was there.
His big damn heroes moment alongside Dunban with Metal Face.
Spotting Junks and abandoning the fight to aid the party prior to Core.
All spontaneous actions. Everything of it is a guy who knows what to do to keep things moving along nicely for his master.
Yet this one moment, he seems to take forever.
And also precisely the moment he had to hurt someone he implied he cared about.
I find that fishy for someone who claims to be a heartless liar during the third arc.
The moments afterwards are a bit blurry for me. I played through the third arc of the game (post-Core) into the dead of the night, because I was too far in to put the game away. The downside is that it didn’t get registered in memory very well.
But there were several moments that Dickson still seemed to care and implied he rooted for Shulk. He even said he obeyed the strongest, but if the strongest was overthrown by someone else, then he’d obey said someone else. (I think that was during the Telethia attack on Colony 6)
That was said in the presence of the party, therefore I take it with a grain of salt. I doubt Dickson would say the truth with others around.
And then there’s Prison Island. He could have faced the party as soon as possible, but instead, he tosses three boss battles at the party.
It could be in order to postpone the party’s arrival at the top of Prison Island.
It could be in order to get them to die before they can get to Zanza.
Or is it an attempt to avoid the inevitable battle against Shulk?
Then he finally fights Shulk. The boy he claims to see as his son. The boy he claims to care about.
He ends up losing thanks to, yes I’m going to say it, the power of friendship. The party cooperates like clockwork and the last Giant is finally bested.
Dickson tells Shulk he’s proud the student has outmatched the master. He witholds dying in front of the party. He claims he doesn’t want to give the party the reward of seeing him die, as a final middle finger.
Or did he not want Shulk to see his father figures die? Or did he not want to face Shulk’s reaction in his last moments?
It’s hard to tell at this point. The expressions aren’t exactly nuanced or subtle, but based on what I’ve observed before, I think it is because Dickson cared.
In a very twisted and selfish way, a way only an ancient individual obsessed with power can be, Dickson cared about the kiddo he took in fourteen years prior.
He likely knew Shulk was going to be his downfall, and he went into it with his chin held up high.
Downfall or not, he’d get in and out of it with a bang.
And that he did.

Just noticed that another codec tune is the start of "rockabye baby".
Anyway, didn't bother writing up my last few trips as not much eventful happened, still trudging around the mountain at this point.
Back at Heartman's room, giving the BT model a hearty tap for the lulz.
Heartman's telling me about how Mama's body has high concentrations of midicholorians, sorry, Chiral matter, more than is usual for the average human. All this serious expo talk being delivered with a birds eye view down the corpse's cleavage. Stay classy Hideo!
Weird, Heartman's about to go down but he just said he restarted a second ago... oh shit son! He modified the network timers to have no record of the conversation, this is some serious conspiracy shit! He says the BT that went to grab the BT baby was Mama's sould, still somehow tethered to her body by the umbilical cord. Deadman's being patched in and throwing more shade on Die-Hardman. The umbilical cord I delivered was Bridget's, she apparently had it outside of her body, with no necrotisation, just like Mama. Meaning the cord was somehow connected to the beach. My guess is she maybe had a BT baby or somehow the first BB was born from her rather than a braindead mother.
Heartboi now goes on to say chiralium has been found at all major extinction events and theorises that the death stranding is merely the latest in a long line of earth's contact with a beach and thus were are in the middle of a new extinction era. He's saying that some archaeological and paleontological discoveries may not have been frozen in the sense of ice but frozen in time as though on the beach. He links this argument with evidence of several remains having the same umbilical cord but not for childbirth, as o e is found on a dinosaur, but as a strand to the beach, just like the BTs have cords.
So these corded beings are not just connected to the beach but potentially also the "extinction entity" that caused a death stranding, implying Bridget was one too.
Assuming Bridget was an EE then Amelie may also be one, hence Higgs' interest.
*pause to catch breath*
Ok, right. Better... do... stuff then.
Got to link up the Chiral station then cross the tar. Fuck me this is an arduous journey, made more so by the fact there's no private room to figuratively and literally recharge my batteries at Heartman's. Ok here I go, using some randos bike as long as I ca- oh BT town. Great. This is horrible, I'm having to build a generator in the middle of this shithole because I can't fight back without a power skeleton as I'm carrying too much. Ah a private room up ahead, thank god.
Are you FUCKING joking!? It's not even built, why put it on the map. Selfish twat.
Finally out of the mountains; grass! A bike! Yes, now we're talking! Hope I don't run into any more trouble, he said sarcastically hoping that in doing so he would prevent trouble.
Ah of course. The "BT here sign" was a red herring. It's actually terrorists. Fuck's sake. Literally just driven right into their camp.I am so unprepared.
"That looks shallow" he thought, stupidly, as he crashed directly into a stream and was flung unceremoniously off the trike. Guess I'm legging it the last *checks notes* 852 metres. That's not so bad I suppose.
Just going to sit on this rock and then stand in the river to recover stamina and canteen respectively.
Jesus Christ nearly lost all cargo after misjudging my stamina in the river. Luckily it all washed up next to me but by god this has been a tough trek.
Thank god, just about made it. Please let me rest now.
Nope, gotta cross the tar. Ok. Fine. Looks like the method is to get caught by a BT according to the emails, which seem to have replaced "Colonel tells you" as the modus operandi for giving hints.
Literally nowhere nearby for me to properly rest so just got to sleep out exposed for a while until I hopefully regain some stamina.
Not much but let's see. Oh ok, got my stamina 100% refilled just for this sequence. Nice! Another spectacular set piece, running across the tar supermerged buildings, like a gloopy Inception. Amelie was stood in the tar at the end like an oily jesus but it ended up triggering a cutscene where I got dragged down and sent to the beach, where Amelie is singing London bridge is falling down. Just a thought, how come Amelie has clothes but Sam doesn't? It was the same when we saw Heartman's beach: he and all its inhabitants were fully clothed.
Anyway, Sam wakes up and Higgs is there to be creepy and monologue about masks. I feel like I wasn't paying proper attention or missed something because I thought Higgs already had Amelie but he's saying once the Chiral networks online he will be able to track her location. He then puts his gold skull mask on Sam which burns him but leaves no mark and seems to have no other effect so fuck knows what that was about. Oh and he licks Sam; which I am actually happy about because it retroactively makes it a little less weird that he licked Fragile, he's just a guy who licks people.
Die-Hardman says the last stage is here so just need to connect the distro and then Edge Knot; "take your time, and do it right." Not 10 seconds later he's calling to say "Sam, what's the hold up? Get that centre online." Prick.
I take a nap and Amelie is now teleporting around my room like Higgs being vague about secrets and that her real name is Amerigo after the first man to discover America. "Sam says what about Columbus?" and Amelie says, "it's a lie, America is all a lie".
*Deep breath* ok, now I am all here for Columbus erasure, and sure maybe Amerigo did see America first or whatever, but ultimately it's still horseshit because a) the vikings got there way earlier and b) PEOPLE ALREADY LIVED THERE. Like, fuck, the "it's built on a lie" thing still rings true but definitely coming at it from the wrong angle. It's like Kojima did a BIT of research to try and get an "a ha!" moment over the audience, perhaps not considering that most people no longer actually give a shit about the "discovery" of America and generally agree Columbus is a turd anyway.
Back to the game, she confirms she is an extinction entity and thus we need to get to her before Higgs. She also drops in that she was born on a beach, so she must have been connected to the umbilical cord Bridget had.
In any case, I'm getting the feeling that Higgs is gearing up for a boss fight and given nothing else is on this rock that seems a fairly solid theory. It's amazing given how underpopulated the rest of the game is, that this area somehow still manages to feel more lonely than the rest of the game. Maybe because it's one of the few city escapes and there's no landscape around. It's like Henry David Thoreau said, we are never truly alone in nature.

WARNING: MAJOR FIRE EMBLEM THREE HOUSES (FE3H) SPOILERS BELOW. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Disclaimer: If this seems to be all over the place it's because it probably is lol. I'm writing all of this on the fly with very limited info, this is just me kind of theorizing.
Note: For like the 0.01% of people who might get offended because they think I'm attacking their house or whatever, stay out of your feelings. Let's remember it's a video game, it's not that deep and I thought this might be a fun little discussion. If you agree that's fine, if you don't that's fine, let's just be respectful.
I've seen some people say there is no true route in FE3H and I was along the same train of thought. However after a few conversations with a friend of mine and some research of my own I'm starting to wonder if that line of thinking is correct.
I was under the impression that it was the same over arching story. The only difference was that it was being told from the point of views of the different houses, however, this seems to not be the case. The story is relatively the same up until Edelgard turns on the church. After that depending on which house you chose the story will drastically change, to the point where the final boss fights aren't even the same (hell even time skip Dimitri looks different). To me that says there is a "true" route you were supposed to follow. My and others proposal is that you get it in the Black Eagle (BE) route.
Now hear me out. Usually in games that have a true ending or route in this case, there's usually extra effort required by the player. Take Crash 2 and 3 for example, all that's required to beat the games is to get the crystals and beat the levels. However if you collect all of the box gems (and yes this takes effort) you will get to see the true endings of either game. Now bringing it back to FE, there seems to be default routes a person can find themselves in depending on their house choice. The default for either the Blue Lion (BL) or BE will cause the player to side with the church with Edelgard being the final boss, with the Golden Deer (GD) seeming to be the neutral path. Does the GD house have a final boss? To whoever reads this and played that route let me know. Anyway, however, there is what people are referring to as a "secret" route (which isn't so secret if you ask me because I got it my first try along with other people). That route being you having the opportunity to side with Edelgard and the empire. You have to meet a certain criteria for the game to even give you the option to do this:
1. You have to get her support rank up to a C+.
2. You have to talk to her during the month of her betrayal.
-A cutscene will trigger and she will ask you to accompany her to see he father. The game will tell you this decision will drastically change the story (the majority of the text will be in red so you know they're not playing)
3. Go with her.
4. After you fight her in the Holy Tomb the game will present you with another game altering choice: to kill her or protect her.
- Note: this choice WILL NOT happen if you choose to not go with her to see her father. The only choice you have is to kill her or do nothing, either way you will side with the church.
5. Choose to protect her and you will side with her.
The BE house from what I gathered upon investigation is the only house in which this kind of choices happen. Or at the very least the only one that has two, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Like I said these choices don't even happen if you don't meet the criteria for it, criteria the game doesn't even tell you is a thing. I just kind of stumbled upon it because I already had my mind set on ranking up Edelgard and I dedicated at least one day off every month to go talk to everybody. Everybody went into this game with a different mind set of what they wanted to do so I can see how someone could miss it, well I can and then at the same time I can't.
Let me explain. I was surprised to find out some didn't know this route was even a thing. But as I said prior considering it's something that has stipulations and the fact that cutscene is framed as normal conversation and not one you're forced into. You have to actively rank Edelgard's support up and seek her out to make the cutscene trigger, so that's how I can see someone missing it. Other the other hand it's fairly easy to rank up people. Just give people lost items, gifts, fight beside them in battle, etc and they're as good as yours. Also the map tells you who you've have and haven't talked to and will even tell you specifically where they are. Plus it's not really even that big so it'll take no time at all to explore all of it.
Now on to my somewhat crack pot theories for why I think Edelgard's route is the true route:
In the beginning the game has you specifically saving Edelgard and what are the odds of her, Claude, and Dimitri meeting them here for all of these events to happen? Also let's point out the scene of Byleth giving Edelgard the eyes LOL. Also while I'm at it Edelgard is the only character who seems to genuinely depend on the main character. If you choose to side with the church from what I gather she essentially loses her mind. If you side with her she stays reminded of why she's doing what she's doing. She like so many real life people can be very laser focused on achieving their goals, to the point they forget the reason why they doing it in the first place. The main character is what keeps her grounded and if you choose to side with her she even tells you as much. Even during the 5 years you were gone the hope that you would come back is what kept her going.
Dimitri on the other hand goes of the deep end regardless. Hell if you bothered to talk/recruit Felix he will warn you many times about Dimitri and even the main character senses darkness in him at the beginning. Speaking of which anybody notice there was a bit of a difference of the main character's first impression of each house leader, specifically their first impression of Edelgard versus the other two? I'm not gonna go into it because this is getting long enough, I'm sure it's out on YouTube somewhere lol.
ANYWAY, I'm rambling at this point LOL, so yea tell me what you all think.

Fitness games have had an interesting journey through the annals of video game history. From the Power Pad on the NES to Dance Dance Revolution’s dance mat, they have seen a lot of ups and downs. It wasn’t until the launch of the Wii and Wii Fit when fitness games became a huge deal. Why just play video games or just go to the gym when you can do both at the same time?! That proved successful as Wii Fit (and its enhanced version Wii Fit Plus) sold a combined 43.8 million units, making it one of the best-selling games of all time, even beating out games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Since then, everyone has tried their version of a fitness game, but nowadays fitness games are becoming less common. Once people started getting tired of that type of game, most companies and developers changed course and began work on other things. Not only that, most fitness games present themselves as exactly what they are. “Oh you’re called ‘Fitness Boxing’? So you box to the beat and do fitness? Cool.” They stay in their lane and don’t try to be anything else.
This is where Ring Fit Adventure, the latest game from Nintendo EPD, tries to break the wheel. From the initial teaser in early September to the announcement trailer, we saw people having fun with a ring and a strap, and then we found out it was an RPG. It feels like someone went, “Final Fantasy, but Wii Fit?!”
It’s not exactly a combination you’d think were synonymous with each other. However, Ring Fit Adventure manages to blend them well enough to harbor an enjoyable experience while also making you sweat.
Full Disclosure Nintendo of America graciously provided us with a review copy of Ring Fit Adventure for the Switch. This review is based on version 1.1.1. As such, the new additions will be accounted for.
Meet the newest Switch accessory
What’s interesting about Ring Fit Adventure is that it markets itself as an adventure game. You fight monsters, explore fictional lands, and collect items on your quest. It just so happens to be an adventure game that you control with your body.
Ring Fit Adventure’s centerpiece is the unique pair of controllers you use: the Ring-Con and the Leg Strap. The Ring-Con is a heavily modified Pilates ring. The main difference is that Pilates rings normally have two hard plastic handles with concave sides with padding so it can be comfortable when doing thigh workouts. The Ring-Con replaces those handles with some small padding for your hands. As someone used to a normal Pilates ring, it feels a little strange, but it’s something you get used to. Then there’s the Ring-Con attachment itself, where you put the right Joy-Con. The Joy-Con’s accelerometer and gyroscope detect the Ring-Con’s position, whether you’re pushing in on the sides or pulling them away from each other. The IR sensor also tracks your heart rate by placing your right thumb over the sensor. It seemed to be fairly accurate, as it was within a 1 or 2 bpm difference when compared to my Apple Watch.
The Leg Strap is far less high tech — it’s literally a thing that you strap to the center of your left thigh and put the left Joy-Con in. That’s it. The Joy-Con itself does the work of making sure your leg is in the right position for the exercises thanks to its gyro and accelerometer.

Admittedly, the story doesn’t try too hard to immerse you, but it still tries.
At the end of the day, however, the technology is nonetheless impressive.
One thing I do appreciate about the game is that Nintendo tries to make this game a circular experience. When you load into your file, the game asks if you want to warm up with some dynamic stretches before you jump in  so you can get your body ready and avoid straining or injuring yourself. During the game itself, it’ll ask you after a while if you want to keep going or cool down. When you decide you’re done for the day, the game asks if you want to do some static stretching as a means to cool down. This structure gives a nice arc that, as someone with a movement background, I appreciate.
I’m going on an Adventure!
The story is fairly standard. You control an athlete who meets a sentient ring, and together you explore the world and fight a bodybuilding dragon named Dragaux (yes, you read that correctly). You explore many worlds, help people along the way, and gain new abilities by constantly butting heads with Dragaux.
The plot is cookie cutter, but it also doesn’t try to be anything it isn’t. The basic story line works here. It’s moderately self-aware in parts, and it’s mostly enjoyable. It’s a tad basic at times, and Ring (the only character who is fully voiced) tends to repeat lines a bit, but it’s not enough to ruin the experience.
Expecting too much from the story would be a mistake, but it will help you pretend it’s not just exercise.
The game itself is very straight forward. Levels consist of two different modes — exploration and combat. The exploration is on rails, which makes sense because you move in one of two ways, either jogging or running in place or by doing small bends (what Nintendo calls “silent mode”). Silent mode is supposed to be a way to play the game without disturbing people by running in place. It was also the mode I used more because I dislike running.
As you traverse the levels, you can pull and push the Ring-Con to release gusts of air to hit boxes and suck up coins. Additionally, you can use the Ring-Con in other positions for specific actions, like pointing it down in order to jump, twisting it from side to side to row across a river, or pushing inward with your abs to destroy rocks blocking your way. You’ll gain experience as you continue, making you more formiddable in combat.
Speaking of combat, it plays out like a traditional turn-based RPG. You attack by doing various exercises from one of four different groups: Arms (upper body), Stomach (core), Legs (lower body), and Yoga (dynamic poses). The game telegraphs how long you hold the pose and then the release of it triggers the attack. Some of the exercises make you hold position for a while (the squats are rough), while others have you move to the beat. Certain enemies are affected more by specific moves; for example, red enemies are susceptible to exercises focusing on upper body. You get to decide what exercise to use, or you can shuffle the exercises, so there is a variety. The game also aids you in combat with lots of outfits and smoothies, Ring Fit’s equivalent to potions. Outfits have a set attack and defense stat like any armor in a typical RPG. There are also smoothies to consume, which have various effects ranging from from healing damage to boosting attacks of a specific type.
You face Dragaux multiple times through your adventure, and he does have some variety in his attacks. He’ll occasionally throw boxes at you that you have to shoot with the Ring-Con, in addition to just flat out attacking you. The game also doesn’t penalize you should you die in boss battles either — it will let you just skip right to the boss fight if you want to. That choice is nice.
#gallery-0-8 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-8 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-8 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-8 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Ring Fit Adventure sticks fairly well to many traditional RPG elements.
That includes the nemesis that monologues and swears this meeting will be the last.
It’s not as complex as franchises like Final Fantasy or Pokémon, but it does enough to be enjoyable. And with 20 worlds to explore, there is enough content here to last you at least 20-30 hours of just adventuring alone. Additionally, during your quest, you’ll come across certain minigames. These minigames, like trying to get points by tilting your body side to side, add an extra bit of variety to the overall gameplay.
Ironically, where Ring Fit Adventure drops the ball a bit is in its overall design and music. When I think of an adventure game or an RPG, I expect a vast array of beautiful trees, vistas and dungeons. Ring Fit sets its levels in one of three locations — a trail through nature, where you explore vistas and go through caves; a wooden obstacle course built in a dojo-looking area complete with treadmills, hoops, and more; and a ruins area for the boss fights. It got to a point where I noticed how often the areas cycle between each level. After a while, it does start to feel stale.
Ring Fit Adventure’s music is pulsing, upbeat, and modern to pump you up, but most of it is also forgettable.
Music is vital to how RPGs and adventure games create the mood you should experience in combat and cutscenes. Ring Fit’s music is pulsing, upbeat, and modern to pump you up for the exercises you perform. This is great for a fitness-centric game; however, most of the music is a bit forgettable. The music often gets drowned out by the sound effects and Ring’s lines, and, when you do hear it, it doesn’t really feel like I’m a hero exploring the world and fighting monsters. I feel like I’m in a fitness studio. For a game that’s marketed to be an adventure game first, it feels like they came too short.
Additional fun to be had
Of course, the adventure is only one part of Ring Fit Adventure. The game also provides some additional modes if you don’t have time to spend on the main campaign. The Quick Play mode has a fairly robust set of minigames and exercises you can do, separated into three categories: simple challenges (where the goal is to get the highest reps possible); minigames (more specific exercise with concrete goals, like making pottery while squatting to raise and lower the hands); and sets (consisting of pre-selected exercises from upper arms to glutes or from aerobics to flexibility). You can adjust the strength setting to make things easier or more challenging depending on your ability, and these modes are a very good way to quickly target a small set of muscles.
Your scores for these are also put online to see how well you stack up against other players. At this point, the rankings are all that online is really utilized for. It’s sort of disappointing that Nintendo didn’t add a way to play the adventure mode with online co-op, but maybe that’s just me.
There’s also Custom Mode, where you can make your own workouts using all sorts of different exercises. They have some preset options, or you can pick and choose from the standard Upper Body, Core, Lower body, and Yoga menus.
At least the devs acknowledge you’ll be binging Netflix at some point. “Multitasking,” indeed.
Lastly, there’s Multitask Mode, where you can work out using only the Ring-Con while you’re not playing the game. Basically it records the number of presses and pulls you do with the Ring-Con while the Switch is in sleep mode or turned off. Once it’s enabled with the right stick, you can continue doing other activities, like watching The Mandalorian on Disney+ (at least that’s what I’m doing) and exercise while you do it. The next time you boot up the game, you’ll get a bonus in the Adventure Mode according to how many presses you did. It does limit you to 500 reps, which seems low to me, but considering that most people are going to just sit and watch a movie or a TV show for more than two hours while exercising, I understand.
A nice way to gamify exercise
Despite the story falling a bit short, Ring Fit Adventure is still a very enjoyable experience with a lot of replay value. It has several different modes to play, a terrific variety of exercises, and is great if you want to get some workouts in when you don’t feel like leaving the house because of bad weather. If you’re a fan of the hardcore mechanics of RPGs like The Elder Scrolls, Final Fantasy or Pokémon, Ring Fit may be basic, but that’s not what it places its emphasis on. The mechanics are accessible so that anyone can pick it up and enjoy it, and maybe It’ll get people into traditional RPGs. The only thing holding it back is not doubling down on the adventure/RPG genre in terms of scenarios and music.
Score 7.5/10
Review: Ring Fit Adventure may be basic, but it nevertheless makes exercise fun Fitness games have had an interesting journey through the annals of video game history. From the Power Pad on the NES to…

Inquisitor as companion: Lyanna Rivens
(listen, this is a cool thing and I need to develop my newest oc, okAY)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Name: Lyanna Elleanor Rivens
Alternate name(s): Lya (to her friends)
Race/Class/Specialization: Human/Mage/Force Mage
Varric's nickname for them: Sunny (for her normally cheerful disposition, save when she’s talking about Templars or the Chantry)
Default tarot card: Lyanna in her travel outfit (in the picture above) in a hooded cloak, her staff gripped in both hands before her, orange rings pulsing out from the top. A tower stands behind her, with a giant crack through the middle, to the point where it looks as if the top is about to slide off. The sky is dark.
How they are recruited: In Redcliffe, upon exiting the Chantry after talking to Dorian, or standing around outside the Chantry if not doing In Hushed Whispers, the Inquisitor is approached by Lyanna. She questions if they are the Inquisitor/Herald, and if they're really trying to restore order. She offers to join them, as she is a talented apostate and wants to help stop all the death. The Inquisitor can ask why she doesn't want to stay with the other apostates in Redcliffe and she replies. "I've sat in a Circle my whole life. Now that I'm finally out, you think I wanna just sit around in a random village?"
Where they are in Haven/Skyhold: In Haven, in the tavern, standing between the bar and the fireplace. In Skyhold, in the garden near the gazebo.
Things they generally approve of: Supporting mages, respecting other traditions, being curious about magic, helping refugees and minorities.
Things they generally disapprove of: Supporting Templars, supporting the Chantry, being needlessly rude, dismissing any of the companions
Specific approval points:
Choosing Mage knowledge dialogue options-slightly approves
While being named Inquisitor:
Doing it for themselves-no approval
Doing it as a mage-approves
Doing it as an elf/dwarf/qunari-slightly approves
Doing it to defeat Corypheus-slightly approves
Doing it for Andraste-disapproves
Mage, Templar, or other?:
MAGE! Greatly approves of allying with the mages, greatly disapproves of conscripting the mages and allying with the Templars, disapproves of conscripting the Templars.
Romanceable?: Yes, by all genders and races except male humans.
Romance side-quest:
Hidden knowledge: Upon finding the dusty library nook near the kitchens, a dialogue option to bring it up to Lyanna will appear in conversation. Previous conversations with her will reveal her love of learning, and how the vast library was the only thing she missed about the Circle. The Inquisitor can ‘give’ her this room and a cutscene will play when they take her there. She expressed that no one had ever gotten her so thoughtful a gift before. That no one has ever cared about her this much before. She’ll be excited and thanks them with a kiss, and the scene fades out on the Inquisitor pushing her up against the shelves. Lyanna can now be found standing in the little library or browsing the shelves.
Kiss scene: In the empty storeroom (technically the Eluvian room) camera pans to see Lyanna and Inquisitor, Lyanna’s hands on their neck and the Inquisitors on her waist.
Romance related dialogue:
I: I wanted to talk about us.
Lya: Oh? Us?
I: I wanted to steal a kiss.
Lya: (chuckles) C'mon then.
I: Have you thought about what might happen after...all this? (Only after the completion of Here Lies the Abyss and Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts)
Lya: With us? I suppose.....well. You're the Inquisitor. That depends on you.
I: I just want to stay with you.
Lya: Really? I...want that too.
I: Just me? There are two people in this relationship, you know.
Lya: True. But only one of us is going to save the world. Who knows what will be different then?
I: You're assuming we'll live through this.
Lya: Don't go getting morbid. I don't want to think about that.
If not romanced, do they get with anyone else?: If the Inquisitor doesn't romance Lyanna, she will eventually strike up a romance with Scout Harding. The romance will trigger with either Dorian, Sera, or Bull mentioning it in party banter.
Dorian: My, my Lyanna. You're awfully cheerful today.
Lya: Am I?
Dorian: It wouldn't happen to have anything to do with an adorable scout we met up with at camp, would it?
Lya: (chuckles) It might.
Sera: So....like the widdle dwarves do you?
Lya: Sorry?
Sera: I get it. All curves and woof.
Lya:...uh-huh.
Bull: So you and Harding, huh?
Lya: What about us?
Bull: Good on ya. Redheads, yeah?
Romance tarot card: The background is light green. Lyanna stands, hood down, staff in hand but pointed at the ground. Her other hand holds a red flower. Her hair is down, blowing in the wind, and you can faintly see a castle that looks like Skyhold in the background.
Companion quest:
Ghosts reaching: Once the Inquisitor has high enough approval with her, the cutscene will take them to a corner of the garden that's unoccupied. Lyanna paces a bit, before stuttering over her words. She asks the Inquisitor if they trust her. No matter what they reply (yes gets approval, no gets disapproval) she explains that she has been trying to track down someone from her past, someone she needs to get revenge on. The Inquisitor can press her for details, but she'll be evasive, before asking if the Inquisitor will come with her to the cave she tracked him to. She is locked in as one of the companions. The cave is in the Hinterlands, near Master Dennet's farm. As soon as they enter the cave, they must fight through groups of low-level Templars until they reach the very back of the cave. This triggers a cutscene where they approach Templar with his back to them, looking around as if he lost something.
Templar: The song. It left me. Why did it leave? Why would you leave me?
The Templar turns at their approach, and you can see the effects of red lyrium in his eyes and around his breastplate.
Templar: Do you know where it went?
Cole (if in the party): Hungry, grasping, reaching. It hollowed him out.
Lyanna strides forward, stopping just in front of the Templar with an angry snarl on her face.
Lya: Albert. (said viciously)
Albert: (looking at her with a surprised face) Flower! My lily flower! (He reaches toward her, and she takes a step back, flinching) You’ll help me, won’t you?
Lya: Help you?! Why would I help you?! After everything you’ve done?!
Albert: (puts his face in his hands, shaking his head) I need it, I need it, I need it.
The Inquisitor has three options of dialogue:
I: What exactly did he do?
Lya: What Templars always do. He used his power and status to abuse mages and never got punished for it, the least I can do is see him dead for it.
I: I...don’t think he’s all there.
Lya: (disgusted scoff) Of course not. Why should he have to face the consequences of his actions when he could just dose up on red lyrium? Better to put him out of both of our miseries.
I: The red lyrium has him.
Lya: Why am I not surprised? Now he can’t even beg me for his life. Not that it would make a difference.
At the end of all of these dialogue options, Lyanna takes out a knife as Albert falls to his knees, she walks until she’s holding the knife to his throat. The Inquisitor is given the choice to let her kill him, netting a Greatly Approves, or intervene, stating that the red lyrium has already driven him mad, so there’s no point, which nets a disapproves.
If allowed to kill Albert, Lyanna stares at his body on the ground for a moment, before turning silently and exiting the scene. If the Inquisitor stops her, she stares down at him for a moment, before letting out a frustrated yell and throwing the knife, storming out of the scene.
The Inquisitor can later find her in her spot at Skyhold, reading a book and ignoring the Inquisitor until they say, “About that templar...”
Lyanna sighs and closes the book, moving until she faces them. “He was a templar at my Circle, awful and corrupt as all the others. He abused mages, tormented them with the threat of Tranquility, used it to blackmail their silence.
(If allowed to kill him) He deserved to die. He deserved worse, but thank you for letting me kill him.
(If not allowed to kill him) He deserved to die, but...You were right. He was gone on red lyrium. At least I know he won’t hurt anyone else.”
Inquisitor has three dialogue options.
I: Are you alright?
Lya: Not really, but I’m...better than before.
I: I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so angry.
Lya: (bitter chuckle) Templars will do that to me, I’m afraid.
I: Are there any more Templars in your past that I need to worry about you hunting down?
Lya: No. All the others are either dead or I have no idea where they are. And...if I’m going to move on from what happened to me, I need to put the past behind me.
If the Inquisitor has high approval with Lyanna, a fourth special dialogue is unlocked.
I: I heard what he did, but that seemed...personal.
Lya:...it was. I was his ‘favorite’. He used to call me his lily flower, watch me closely whenever I was near him. It wasn’t that bad at first until he tried to kiss me. I pushed him away, and then he started to get violent. Beating me for the smallest of infractions, threatening to make me Tranquil if I didn’t do what he said. He...snuck in my rooms at night. He was a Templar. There was nothing I could do.
At the end of all these dialogue options, you net a Greatly Approves.
Lya: Thanks for coming with me. I’m glad I had someone else there.
Companion side quests:
The Corrupt and the Wicked: Groups of rogue Templars are holding mages and Tranquil hostage. Hunt them down, kill them, and free the prisoners. Each instance nets-Approves.
Tarot card after companion quest: Lya now stands in front of Skyhold, hood down, staff straight but in one hand. Her other holds a broken chain, symbolizing her leaving her past in the Circle behind her.
Lyanna’s comment on the Inquisitor’s specialization:
Rift Mage: You’re learning to use rift energy in your magic? That’s...fascinating, actually. Do be careful, though. We don’t need another Breach for you to close.
Templar: (disapproves) Really? You want to be a Templar? Should I look over my shoulder for you to smite me as well then? I’m sure you can find some of their armor around here, though.
Tempest: So you use potions to cover yourself in the elements? Do you use a different potion to protect yourself from the others’ effects? Or is it something in the formula that keeps you from getting hurt? Good on you, though. Looks useful.
Assassin: Training as an assassin? Well, at least you have something to fall back on after the Inquisition. I hope you never get a contract for me. (jokingly) I’d at least make you work for it.
Relationships with other characters:
Cassandra: Wary acquaintances. For all Cassandra claims to not be a Templar, she still acts like one and answers to the Chantry. They get into light bickering over mages and the Chantry, but they're not hostile. More comrades in arms than friends. If slated to become Divine, Lyanna expresses reluctance and a slight fear for the future.
Varric: Friends. Bond over being from the Free Marches. He asks her about her background before she got taken to the Circle. She tells him about how her parents were farmers near Ansburg and she was taken away at the age of 8. She asks him to tell her stories sometimes.
Solas: Close friends. They chat over magic and the Fade, she is particularly curious about his dream walking and relationships with spirits. They often chat about magical theory and how to reform how the world sees mages.
Sera: Friends-adjacent. Aren't antagonistic, but their views on mages don't line up. Sometimes bicker about magic. Also, joke around, so it's evenly balanced.
Vivienne: Decidedly not friends. Any bonding over magic or circle life is immediately canceled out by Vivienne refusing to acknowledge her privilege in the Circles. They bicker incessantly over the condition of the Circles and the future of mages. If asked about Vivienne in private dialogue she will admit her dislike of the woman but will comment that she respects her skill with magic and talents in court. If slated to become Divine, Lyanna expresses fear, and later at the celebratory feast, asks if the Inquisition would be turning its mages over to the Circles after Vivienne reinstates them. If the Inquisitor indicates that they will, she replies, “I see. Enjoy the party, Inquisitor.” It is later discovered that Lyanna fled Skyhold that night, with no one knowing where she was headed. If approval with her is low enough, she will leave after the feast regardless if the Inquisitor intends to protect the mages under their care or not. If this happens, she will not appear in Trespasser.
Iron Bull: They get along but they're not close (ironic because he's her romance interest as Inquisitor). He has an easy-going attitude that she didn't expect, but is still leery of him because of what little she knows of the Qun. Still, she questions him about it often because it intrigues her.
Dorian: Fast friends once they get past the whole Tevinter hurdle, which happens quicker than you'd think. She knows a thing or two about being judged by what you are, not who you are. They chat often about magic, Tevinter, Ansburg, the Circles, you name it. Often joke about.
Blackwall: Acquaintances. They don’t have much in common. She asks him about Grey Wardens sometimes, and he comments on her magic a bit, to compliment how neatly cast her spells are.
Cole: Leery of him at first, but takes a liking to him once she understands him. Often asks him about what it's like to be a spirit, and takes him digging in her head better than most.
Cole’s reading on them: “You were left, wandering, afraid, but so achingly free. The sky reaches for a thousand leagues and even though the world hunts you, the chains are finally falling away.”
Cullen: Dislikes him on principle, and never grows close enough to him for that to change. Doesn't expect him to smite her and stab her in the back, which is as good as it's going to get between her and a former Templar.
Josephine: Respects her abilities with the nobles, but doesn't particularly care for politics. Calls her pretty in passing, but never tries to get closer to her.
Leliana: Slightly terrified of her, and respects her quite a bit, both for her abilities and her opinions on mages. If she is slated to become Divine, Lyanna hesitantly shows hope for her future.
Ambient dialogue:
Searching items: Something's nearby.
High dragon sighting: Holy shit!
Low health:
Dammit, lucky shot!
How many are there?!
Inquisitor falls in battle:
Help the Inquisitor!
Inquisitor!
Greetings/goodbye's:
Low approval:
Hm?
What?
(farewell) Mhmm.
Medium/neutral approval:
Yes?
Need something?
(farewell) Later, then.
High approval:
(happily) Inquisitor!
Hey there!
(farewell) See you soon!
Romanced:
Darling?
Yes, love?
(farewell) I do love watching you walk away.
The Fade:
How they react: “Shit, are we actually...? (She looks around) Shit.”
Their tombstone: Obedience
What the Fears look like to them: Wolves. When she first left her Circle after it fell, the group she was traveling with was attacked by wolves the first night they made camp. The wolves killed two of the mages with them. They are a reminder that this world she struggled so hard to be free in may end up killing her after all.
What Nightmare says to them: “Ah, the little bird has escaped her cage, but for how long? Still, you stay surrounded by Templars in your little Inquisition. They will fail, and they will turn on you and drag you back to the Circle, and just like before, no one will be there to hear you scream.”
How they respond: “Fuck off, demon.”
Reflections about the Fade at Skyhold (if they went): “That was....terrifying. And exhilarating. But mostly terrifying. Let’s maybe...not do that again?”
Reflections about the Fade if they didn't go: “You went physically into the Fade? Again? That’s...wow. Are you okay?”
Hawke or Warden: No approval loss or gain either way, but makes a comment later while talking to the Inquisitor about how it must have been a difficult choice, choosing between who lives and who dies.
The Warden's: “As far as we know, they’re the only ones who can stop Blights. Definitely a bad idea to just get rid of them.”
Exile or allies: Approves if made allies, Disapproves if banished.
The Ball: “This is...certainly something. You can almost see all the lies and half-truths falling out of their little masks. I almost wish I had one.”
I: Enjoying the party?
Lya: Well enough. I’m a bit scared to talk to anyone. I’m out of my depth here, and these people know what I am. I think I’ll just stick here and watch. It’s entertaining enough.
I: You like the masks?
Lya: They make everything a bit more...dramatic, don’t they? Orlesians love that sort of stuff.
I: Seen anything I should know about?
Lya: Plenty of subtle threats and people sneaking off for a rendezvous, but nothing about our other problem. I’ll keep a lookout, though.
I: Care for a dance?
Lya: Really? I’ve never properly learned but...yeah. I’d love to. Maybe not on the dancefloor though. I’d rather step on your toes in private.
How they are announced: Apostate Lyanna, formerly of the Ansburg Circle of Magi.
How they respond: “Well, glad we could get the apostate thing out of the way, then.”
Where they linger: Bottom right corner of the ballroom, near one of the big statues. She can be found leaning back against the wall, just watching.
Are they good at the Game?: No. She has no experience in anything resembling the Game. She mostly keeps to herself and doesn’t talk to anyone, out of fear of screwing up something for the Inquisition.
What people say about them:
“The Inquisitor brought an apostate to court, did you see?
“I wonder if she is one of the rebels?”
“Don’t turn your back on that one.”
Gaspard, Briala, or Celene?: Prefers Celene reunited with Briala; greatly approves. Approves of Celene alone. Disapproves of Gaspard alone. Slightly disapproves of Gaspard with Briala controlling him.
Temple of Mythal: “An ancient elven temple? Will the wonders never cease with the Inquisition? Next, you’ll show me a baby griffon.”
Rituals or hole?: Approves of doing the rituals out of respect for the elves. No approval gain or loss for jumping through the hole, as they are in the middle of a battle.
Morrigan or Inquisitor for the Well?: Approves the Inquisitor drinking from the well, disapproves of Morrigan drinking because none of them really know/trust her.
Comments on Inquisitor's LI:
Cassandra: “Taking up with Seeker Cassandra I hear? I thought she had a soft heart under all those scoffs.”
Cullen: “Didn’t think you were the type for big, burly templars, Inquisitor, but if you’re happy...”
Iron Bull: “You and Bull? Is he...you know what, never mind, don’t answer that.”
Dorian: “Dorian’s a lot happier these days. You two are good together.”
Sera: “You’re with Sera? I...have to admit, I didn’t see that coming. But, if she makes you happy, then good for you.”
Josephine: “I’ve heard whispers about you and Ambassador Josephine. She’s quite pretty. I hope you two are happy together.”
Blackwall: “You know Dorian told me the most fascinating rumor about ‘Warden stamina’ the other day. Care to comment?”
Solas: “I’m happy for you and Solas, Inquisitor. The two of you are awfully sweet together.”
Companions comments on romancing the Inquisitor:
Dorian: “My dear Lyanna, I’ve heard the most interesting whispers about you and our dear leader...”
Lya: “Which, the ones where I run a secret mage underground with their help or the ones where they help me slaughter templars?”
Dorian: “The ones where you two are together, but I must admit I’m more curious about the other rumors.”
Solas: “You two seem to make each other quite happy.”
Lya: “I suppose we do.”
Solas: “Good. It is heartening to see people find such happiness in the midst of war.”
Varric: “Sunny, you have to give me something.”
Lya: “Varric.”
Varric: “At least tell me how it happened! Were you poring over texts about magic? Taking a late night stroll through the garden? Did they walk you back to your rooms after you had a bit too much to drink?”
Lya: “I’m sure whatever you come up with is more exciting and dramatic than how it actually happened, so I’ll leave you to it.”
Vivienne: “Surely, you must see how...unwise it is to fall into a relationship with the Inquisitor, my dear?”
Lya: (sighs) “Oh?”
Vivienne: “Once the Circles are reinstated, you will be parted any way. Better to end things now to avoid a breaking later.”
Lya: “I will not allow anything to take them from me, Lady Vivienne, nor will I allow anyone to take me from them. Keep that in mind.”
Trespasser:
If Bull betrays the party: “He fought with us for so long...we were his friends. How could he do this?”
Relationship status (if Inquisitor romanced): Able to marry. The Inquisitor brings it up in conversation, she will think of their future fondly but doesn’t think the Inquisitor is being serious. The Inquisitor will get a dialogue option to ask her to marry them, and she’ll say yes.
Relationship status (if Inquisitor did not romance them): The Inquisitor can ask how things between her and Scout Harding are. She says they are really good, and admits that Lace recently asked Lyanna to marry her. They decided to wait until after the Exalted Council to make it official, though.

Dimitri Enallasani, an Anderfels Elven Mage
art by haloneshiral
1. If not for the Conclave, what would drive your character to join the Inquisition?
Dimitri would be recruitable depending on if the mages or templars were sided with. If the mages were sided with, he would be an apostate who came with them to Haven who would be causing “issues” with the templars already there and the PC would be asked to step in.
If the Templars were chosen, he would be brought with them as a “prisoner” and since the Templars are in no real position to judge others–especially if they were conscripted–they would turn him over the the Herald to judge then.
Both opportunities would give the chance to recruit him as a companion. As for how much he would want to join, it would seem the logical choice in both circumstances. He’d been helping the mage rebellion and with that effectively under the control of the Inquisition, it would be logical to change his focus. With the Templars he would be free to choose his own course and he would want to repay the person who saved him + they are the only people fixing things. Plus he is a mage with no shortage of skills in magic outside the Chantry influence, so he would be ideal with strange magic like the Rifts.
2. How would they meet the Inquisitor?
They would get to meet him in Haven with his recruitment cutscene and one could meet him “better” after the choice is made, provided he would be allowed to stay. That would go something like him being very grateful for letting him stay and helping him out of a tight spot he hadn’t intended on getting into. He would also casually talk about the choice made with the templars or mages, which would be the first chance to get approval/disapproval with him.
3. What would some of their cutscenes look like?
A lot of them would play out in his private space in Skyhold since he is an exceptionally private person. But after Adamant, he would have a cutscene in the rotunda with Solas over what happened, especially if he was brought along. He would also have a special scene on the Storm Coast where he would find a wounded Great Horned owl and if the PC would let him, he would heal the creature and send her on her way. But she would keep following them and after three of his comments, another cutscene would trigger where she comes to rest on his shoulder.
Dimitri: She certainly seems intent on sticking around.
PC: Why not keep her around? She seems to have taken to you quite well.
Dimitri: Hm, I could see to giving her a good home.
From then on, she would be included with Dimitri when you take him out as a companion and she could be used as a scouting feature, reaching further distances and a way to plot out paths up complicated hills.
Dimitri would also have longer cutscenes by virtue of how his speech can be much slower and he takes his time to talk; it also goes along with his tendency to ramble on and on. He would be the kind of companion where one could have long simple cutscene conversations with.
4. What would their romance route look like? Would they be romancable?
Dimitri would be romanacble by male only Inquisitors of any race. A female quizzy could flirt with him, but he would shut that down at the first flirt and express his lack of attraction to her and anyone of her “fairer sex”.
He would be a much slower romance and require a high approval for him to consider a relationship in the first place. He is very hesitant about getting close to someone and embracing a new kind of relationship like that. It would be reassurances of attraction and comfort that would evolve into him giving that right back. Like at Halamshiral, he would express that he is proud of him and comfort him if it was trying for them. He would grow much, much softer in the relationship, growing to laugh and smile more as time would go on. His reservations with a relationship aren’t like Dorian’s where he doesn’t have that sort of angst with his status as a gay man, but it’s more the intimacy and the need for acceptance of who he is with all his messy faults and bad choices he’s made.
EDIT: His first romance scene would be him pulling the quizzy out onto the ramparts near the garden room and him exasperating about how he can’t be serious in having affections for him. He’ll comment about how it won't work between them for a whole host of reasons, but if the quizzy presses and reassures him, he is more willing to try.
Later on after one of the main quests and his approval is high enough, he’ll prompt a talk about the relationship and he’ll have grown more comfortable with the idea and the idea of soft affection like holding hands and the like. It would be nothing big, just something sweet and soft between them.
The first kiss wouldn’t happen until after his personal quest is resolved and he feels more comfortable and certainly more trusting of the quizzy to let down more barriers and grow more comfortable with him. (His romance is very much about letting down the barriers and walls around him).
His romance culminates in scene that can be sexy or not, but it’s that sort of final breaking down of walls--both physical and mental--and him letting the quizzy in completely. It would be the first time he would say “I love you” as well.
5. If they romanced someone as Inquisitor, would they still fall for that person as a companion? How would that play out? How would they react to that person being romanced by the “new” Inquisitor?
Maybe? See, I don’t think Dimitri would have the moxie as a companion to flirt with Bull or grow closer to him. He wouldn’t have the exposure to get out of his shell more like he would as Inquisitor. He wouldn’t rock the “lone wolf elf apostate” look that Solas has with the detachment, but he would be more passive in developing friendships. But him and Bull might’ve had a fling or two. Tbh most of their relationship if it did happen would be subtext and very on the down low. Both of them could be asked about it and there would be a few banters, but nothing like the romance with Dorian.
He wouldn’t mind the quizzy getting with Bull. He would be happy for the two of them with a few idle words; like I said, he might not have the moxie to approach that relationship, so there wouldn’t be anything to get upset about.
6. Write some of their party banter (in reaction to major events, scenery dialogue, or just shitting around. Askers can specify for which character/event, or leave it up to the writer).
(Exalted Plains, near the body pits) “Feels like the Veil is normal. Which to you is a bad thing.”
(Emprise Du Lion) “If you’re curious why I’m useless in the next fight, it’s because I’m using all my mana to make sure I don’t lose my fingers.”
“Tell me about Elrahal.”
(Only available with high approval +75)
“He was born a slave in Tevinter and never met his parents or any other members of his family. He was kept as a serving man which equaled to him standing around and looking pretty until his master needed blood for the rituals. He resented it or he wouldn’t have tried to escape a half dozen times. The final time he escaped, he ran to the Anderfels. He said that he ran to the Anderfels because if he was going to die, he would do it as a free man.”
*Chuckle* “Thankfully that didn’t happen. He found our clan first and we were used to taking in ex-slaves. If they ran to the Anderfels, they could make it in the clan. I was just shy of eighteen when he joined us.”
Banter:
Cassandra: I’m…sorry about what you had to witness in Kirkwall…
Dimitri: Why are you apologizing to me?
Cassandra: You experienced horrific things that could have been avoided–
Dimitri: The conflict in Kirkwall was far from inevitable, Cassandra. Any other Circle in any other city could’ve been a “Kirkwall”.
Cassandra: Undoubtedly it would have received the same treatment as Kirkwall.
Dimitri: Hopefully the chaos was enough–that the horror of it was enough for people to learn that the Circle as it stood was far from effective. The best we can do now is look to find a better way to move forward.
Cassandra: That is oddly optimistic of you, Dimitri.
Dimitri: I can be optimistic in affairs outside of myself.
Cassandra: *laughs*
Cole: It ripples around you, like a stone in a pond. It folds and folds and makes that sound–like when metal grinds upon metal.
Dimitri: I won’t rip it or change it.
Cole: I can see it around you. It wraps you up and the spirits see it and press back. They’re curious.
Dimitri: I’ll pull on them occasionally. Keeping the Veil thin makes moving to the waking world less…difficult. They won’t twist on themselves.
Cole: But then you let them go back. And then they come back to watch you. I don’t know if they know what to think of you.
Dimitri: Most people share the same sentiment.
Dorian: Dimitri?
Dimitri: Yes?
Dorian: It is you making that sound? The low bzzzz and the high pitched bit in the ear?
Dimitri: It’s the Veil making that sound. Well, me and the Veil. I make the low pitched sound and the Veil is the high pitched bit. Why do you ask?
Dorian: Curiosity is all. Why do you make such a sound?
Dimitri: The Veil in the South is kinda like a shirt too small for me. So I have to fill it out with mana to stretch it–thin it out. The high pitched sound is the Veil curling on itself and the low pitch is the mana interacting with the newly thin Veil and the Fade being closer.
Cassandra: It won’t rip a hole in the Veil?
Dimitri: I don’t have that much mana to expend to accomplish such a feat. I simply thin it down to draw magic through the Fade how I’m used to.
Dorian: *chuckles* Why not just adjust?
Dimitri: Force of habit. I could relearn how to do magic down here or I could simply rely on the methods I’ve always used. In the interest of time and my own stubbornness, I prefer the later.
Solas: You warp the Veil as to draw more mana through it?
Dimitri: I learned magic were the Veil is incredibly thin. Coming South was a drastic change and I had to find quick solutions. Thus, I expend the mana to thin the Veil to draw upon it in a way better suited to how I know.
Solas: What is it like without such measures?
Dimitri: Frustrating. Spells don’t burn as hot or have the desired effect with them. Glyphs come out…wrong. They don’t hit as hard or do as they’re supposed to. Spirits become twisted and wrong when the change is too drastic. I use more mana to create spells that don’t work.
Solas: Doesn’t this mean that you push more mana out of your body and experience more highs and lows of mana imbalance when you thin the Veil?
Dimitri: I suppose. I know it has a negative effect on myself, but I’d rather not spend the time to relearn and just use what I have.
Cassandra: You have said you would do away with the Chantry, Dimitri?
Dimitri: Such as it stands, yes. It cannot survive in its current state; not as a headless beast with it’s ready made zealous army on the loose.
Cassandra: A rather unflattering picture you paint.
Dimitri: It’s the truth of the matter. Such beasts can only wither and die, or they can grow and change. Sometimes I hope it is the former, and other times the later.
7. What would be on their tombstone in the fade (what is their greatest fear)?
Dimitri’s greatest fear would be himself. Ultimately, Dimitri fears what his actions will cause and the pain he has already caused to others. He is terrified of what he could become if he fell to his demon or if he will look back on himself and see how he was so much better of a person. He is keenly aware of how close evil sits behind his eyes and it would take only one slip to fall into it.
8. What kind of Inquisitor would drive them to leave the Inquisition/confront them about their actions (what gets their approval low? what does that scene look like)?
An Inquisitor who is cruel without provocation and has an open hatred of mages or a lack of wanting to understand the complexity of magic and the situations surrounding it. He has lived enough of his life with ignorant people who don’t care to understand, so he isn’t going to be bound to a willfully ignorant attitude. So things like conscripting the mages, agreeing with the Circle, cruel options. Those sorts of things would bring his approval down.
His scene would be of him packing his bags in his now empty room, only having a few terse words to say for their actions before storming past them. If one would grab to stop him, a sharp flash of lighting would immobilize the PC and he would walk away without a word. The PC would then be left to lay on the ground for the next two minutes–in real time–to think of their actions.
9. Where in Skyhold would they be found? (e.g. Cole is in the tavern rafters, Leliana in the top of the tower, Varric in the throne room, etc.)
Dimitri would be found in a room off the balcony overlooking the garden and it would be an organized disaster. It would be a sort of self contained set up. Like he has a pot over the fireplace and several bowls that would have potions or leftover food in them sitting near a bucket of water. He would have a place to prepare food, fruits and veggies sitting out along with herbs in glass jars, mugs and ceramic pots across the window sill. He would have a whole alchemical station set up, scattered with all sorts of herbs, gems, precious metals, strange magical objects and dozens of jars. Much of it would be bubbling along, magical flames to keep it going. Rugs would cover the walls and old paintings and tapestries would cover the old walls, many of them colored blues, greens and yellows. His bed would be shoved off in a corner, piles of blankets and pillows in various colors and furs too. Books by the stack would be scattered across the room too.
But the most notable thing would be the floating charms and crystals all across the ceiling with wisps dancing between them in orbiting patterns. They would be colored soft white and cast shadows across the room. They would be mainly used as mana reserves as rather simple little spirits that don’t have much to them beyond being reserves. They come in handy for making magical potions and the like. He has a very liberal use of magic.
10. If Inquisition operated like DA:O, what would their gift items be? What would their approval and disapproval Feast Day items be?
His main gifts would be a book on the Flora and Fauna of the Anderfels, pastries imported from the Free Marches, an Ironbark necklace charm, and some fine Tevinter wine.
His major feast day approval gift would be a handwoven wool blanket from the Anderfels, made by the Orth people: it would be decorated with patterns of Harts and Varghests across the orange sands, the sun blazing down upon them.
His gift for massive negative approval would be a book full of Chantry teachings on the dangers and practices of Maleficarum.
11. How would they grow as a person? How would they compare at the end of the Inquisition as a companion to who they were as the Inquisitor?
He would be changed like he is as quizzy, albeit with less friends and connections than before. But he would have peace and a new direction which he hasn’t had in over twenty years. His path is free and he can do what he wants, but most importantly, he has people who care, respect and love him for who he is and that is what truly makes him feel like he has a new chapter of his life.
He would be content in a way he hasn’t felt in ages.
12. Do they believe the Herald of Andraste is really the Herald of Andraste?
He isn’t keen on the Chantry, so he is inclined to believe that they ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. He sees how the Inquisition is going to use that holy status to their advantage and he knows part of it is necessary, but also unsavory. He would support a quizzy who also rejects there Herald status–bonus points for a dalish quizzy–and be critical of a quizzy who thinks they are the Herald. It would be questioning them on how they know that they really are and if it’s not just a play into the power fantasy or getting caught up in the grandeur. He would be condescending about it to a quizzy he has low approval with.
13. If the Herald didn’t have them tag along to prep the trebuchets, what would they do during the battle for Haven? (bonus: would they join in on the impromptu Dawn Will Come choir practice in the camp?)
Dimitri would be fighting against the forces that would get loose from the others and protecting those he can, sheparding people to the Chantry. In the mountains he would be helping tending to wounds and wouldn’t pay any mind to the music, the task of healing and tending to the wounded much more important. He also doesn’t care for Chantry music.
14. What nickname does Varric give them?
Chatterbox, because it’s ironic.
15. Without the influence of their decisions for the Inquisition, which of the companions do they get along with? Which ones do they bicker with?
Dimitri would get along with Iron Bull, Dorian and Solas for the most part with him heavily bickering with Vivienne and Cassandra based on drastically different views of the Chantry and magic.
16. What would the Fear Demon say to them in the Fade to try and discourage them?
Nightmare: Look at you, Dimitri. Come so far and still so lost. How many people will die this time? How many will die and you won’t remember them? The screams last time were so delightful.
Nightmare: Do you remember how Elrahal screamed? *laughing*
17. Where do they hang out in the Winter Palace? What’s their thoughts on the nobles/The Game?
Dimitri hangs out on the Vestibule, up near the entrance to the library where he can watch everyone. He is intrigued by the Game and loves to watch it happen.
Dimitri: I do enjoy watching them spin circles around each other, trying to be polite to no real end. Killing each other in dark spaces is the same as killing them out in the open–they end up equally dead. Difference between assassinations and all out war, one would think.
18. What’s their reaction to a dragon showing up?
Dimitri: Oh….oh! *laughing* Chasing her, yes?
19. Once Corypheus is beaten, what do they do during the party? Do they stay with the Inquisition, or go somewhere else? What could the Inquisitor do to convince them to stay?
Dimitri would hang back in the hallway near the door, sitting on a bench with a drink in his hand. He wouldn’t much like the sound of the party/all the people around. Even after everything, he is still an introvert. Him staying or not staying would depend on approval level.
Dimitri: (low approval) I am leaving in the morning. I have no more reason to stay and I suspect you will not want me to stay. Congratulations, I hope the world doesn’t realize you made a tyrant trying to take one down. (He can’t be convinced to stay).
Dimitri: (high approval) I am going to stay for a while. I know I talked about joining the clan we met in the Exalted Plains, but….they are sorely lacking the company you keep. I…was looking for a place to belong and I think I found it right here. If you will continue to have me.
Dimitri: (romanced): I am staying, vhenan. I…can’t think of a better place to be than in this place made into a home and…anywhere else will lack my one, most precious love.
20. How do they react to learning abominations can retain their consciousness and identity, and even live peacefully with their spirits/demons, as seen in Stone-Bear Hold?
It’s not surprising, given how he’s lived much the same way for many years now. Its far from being the exact same with the Veil separating him from his demon, but they have an existence that could be called peace in a sense. Well his demon being rabidly possessive of him isn’t exactly peace. But it does give him a shred of hope that things could turn into a peaceful solution someday.
21. What do they think of the discoveries made in the Deep Roads? Do they make any comments on anything?
He thinks it’s groundbreaking and interested in the implications of such a find to a great deal. It shouldn’t be something to keep a secret and a fact of history to be remembered. But he would be extremely interested in what will happen to in regards to the Titans. If they can wake, then they are alive; maybe they can move or change or shape the world. The implications are staggering.
22. If you have another Inquisitor, how would those two get along, specifically?
Darva and Dimitri would get along well enough. Casual friends, but mostly at Darva’s insistence. But he would grow on Dimitri in that sort of protective caring manner.
23. In trespasser, what “gift” would they give the Inquisitor, if any?
He would give a friendship quizzy a beautiful indigo colored silk wrap that he had imported from the Anderfels. The gold would seem to shine in it’s way as if powered by magic or runes. It would also be incredibly tough and tear resistant on account of the magic weaved into the fabric. He would tell them he counts them as one of his greatest friends and that he wouldn’t trade their kindness and affection for the world.
For a romanced quizzy he would give the same gift and the idea of getting married would be shared between them. A slide in Trespasser would indicate they did get wholeheartedly married.
24. What are their plans for after the Exalted Council? Will the Inquisition staying in tact or being disbanded make a difference?
I have a whole thing written about that! He goes back to his given name of Dar’thenaras and during the two years he spent time in the Dales and the reconstruction work in the area.
(Unromanced, Inqusition peacekeeping force):
Dar’thenaras returned to his duties in the Dales, still trying to mediate the squabbles between the nobles of Orlais and the Dalish clans. Eventually, an accord is reached between the Dalish and the leaders of Orlais. Under offical decree, the land of Dales would be rightfully returned to the elves with reparations. The land would be protected by the new Inquisition under the Divine. The land would not be lost again. Many clans joined the new settlements and Dar’thenaras became the leader of the settlements, a voice for the Dalish in the courts and in the land.
(Inquisition disbanded): …The land would be protected by various agents, all with suspicious ties to the old Inquisition. However, few would question their origins.
(If romanced, peacekeeping Inquisition): The continuing work of the Inquisitor frequently lead him back to the new Dales, and back into his lover’s arms. The meetings they had were treasured moments of reprieve for both of them in their new duty. It wasn’t long before the Inquisitor and Dar’thenaras were spotted wearing matching rings, an enternal promise of love.
(If romanced, Inquisition disbanded): With the Inquisition disbanded, Dar’thenaras found himself with frequent company during the reconstruction efforts in the Dales. Even with the frequency of such company, they both treasured the moments they had with each other. It wasn’t long before they were spotted with matching rings, an eternal promise of love.
25. In the alternate reality, if they were corrupted with lyrium, how do they act? What’s their attitude about the end of the world/their inevitable death?
Dimitri–if the corruption would last long enough–would turn into an abomination and slowly lose his mind and turn into a beast. His speech would be a slurred mix of half spoken words and hissing sounds like two voices competing for one mouth. He would be twitchy as well, hunched over and a pale shadow of his former self. If it was late enough, he would attack on sight, unable to be reasoned with as a great beast, half metal and half man, wielding both magic and a sword and shield.
Beyond that, he would be excited for his death and the end of his life; he would have struggled so much and changed so much that death would be the only escape and saving to be had with him.
