Started playing dragon age inquisition once again :]]

This is Alaris (he/him), he prefers two handed weapons & heavy armour. He likes to get things done quickly and with minimal detours (which, let's be honest, is something that da:i is allergic to), values honesty and tends to be very defensive when talking about his clan & family. He was paranoid at first, thinking the inquisition intended to use him as a vessel for their religious propaganda, but was pleasantly surprised when he discovered that they actually treat him like a person lol.

After Alaris gets comfortable with the inner circle, he takes on a sort of an "older brother" role, and is incredibly annoying & stubborn whenever someone is ignoring their health in favour of work (cough cough cullen). He's also a little bitch who doesn't mind getting into arguments and WILL pull the "i am very disappointed" card.

He also started reading a lot of books about politics, definitely not because he wanted to talk more with a certain ambassador...

I like the idea of an extremely pro mage/ anti chantry warden getting watered down and basically propagandatized by the chantry

Like Aviae hates the circles with a passion, and is actively outspoken about that. Shes killed templar's by the end of awakening, and has almost zero remorse about doing so because they hurt her best friend! Her whole life has been spent under Templar control and she's angry and pissed off about it. She may have played the perfect pupil in the circle (only because she was terrified, she was so scared of the brand that it made her sick to her stomach) but now that shes out? She refuses to be quiet about it

However. The chantry can't have someone that important speaking ill about them, can they? Luckily, Aviae has a distaste for politics (even if she becomes fairly okay at them out of necessity), and generally avoids the public eye so the chantry does what they do best (and lies). The hero of Fereldan? Oh yes, she was a Circle mage. Yes she was the epitome of a good mage; she followed the rules and did as she was told. In fact, her success just proves how well the circles work! If it weren't for her years of discipline, surely Fereldan would have been doomed to fail.

Idk I really like the idea of the hof being used as a form of propaganda by the circle, especially non human and mage origins. Even better if they died killing the Archdemon because what are they gonna do, contradict them? They cant! They're dead and their image is being used as propaganda

all he knows is if hes honest he loses his his loved ones. if he told anyone bethany and father were mages, theyd get taken away. if he told his mother he wanted to lighten his burdens, shed tell him itd his duty, and at least in his mind, love him less. no matter how he tried to connect with carver, it wasnt enough and now hes dead. so thats how he sees his new friends too. say what you have to, because theyll hate you or leave you if you dont. let them rely on you, because thats what you do. be a good boy. be a strong boy. take care of your siblings. take care of your friends. take care of your city. hold it all in your arms as they crumble and you can do nothing but watch. maybe if you were better. a better son. a better man. better better better-

We are an 18+ literate roleplaying server hosted on Discord and set in the world of Dragon Age. DA:HAH is set during the timelines of DAO, DA2, and DAI, but we allow freedom for stories to be told anywhere throughout Thedas up until Trespasser. Do note that this server does not offer roleplay in Veilguard's timeline and considers it mostly non-canon to the roleplay, though you're welcome to alter your DATV OCs to work in the other three games! As of 6/14/25, we are freshly opened, with many major canons free and awaiting your applications.

Please note that this is an explicitly POC-friendly, anti-racist, and queer-inclusive server run by mature adults for mature adults. We have a 0 tolerance policy for fandom bullshit. We’re trying to cultivate a kind, welcoming, and drama-free space with a neutral stance on discourse surrounding Mage/Templar shit, controversial companions, etc (even if us on the mod team have our own opinions). Basically, we have no rules against respectful disagreement and criticism, but we won’t tolerate acting like a cunt. Roleplay servers are more interesting when people have the freedom to enjoy writing Templars, Chantry/Circle loyalists, Qun-abiding Qunari, etc without fear of being morally judged OOC.

That said, we feel it’s necessary to make our IRL politics clear in order to remain a safe space for marginalized fans. This server is run by staunchly Pro-Palestine leftists. Fascists and reactionaries will be removed promptly.

We even allow players to port in Rook origins, so long as you’re willing to alter things and adapt them to the earlier games - if you’re interested, our website actually has a page declaring precisely what we consider noncanon from Veilguard and which origins would need alterations beyond shifting them to an earlier game.

magni aeducan (he/they, 27-28 in da:o, dwarven noble, pansexual) — quintessential and traditional dwarven noble and yes, that included the sexism, bought into the noble hunter culture, deadbeat father (gn.) a little too willingly committed fratricide to advance themself (masterful gambit, sir) and brought both gorim and mardy down with him. "has anyone told you you're insane" / "i prefer the term ruthlessly pragmatic myself". chose to desecrate the urn of sacred ashes for Cool Dragon Powers and no other reason, let bhelen stay on the throne because he would rather have an aeducan on the throne that stabbed them in the back if it meant not having their dynastic rule continue. kept the anvil of the void and sided with branka. told alistair he was like a brother to them with a complete stony face and then proceeds to betray him at the landsmeet (magni did say he was like a brother to him...). let amaranthine burn.

rosalind hawke (she/her, 23-30 in da2, human, straight...?) — haunted by her mother's face every time she looks in the mirror, leandra 2.0 and resentful about it. did anything to protect bethany from the horrors of the world, only for bethany to die in the most horrible way possible. rival romance with anders, trying to protect him but smothering him and making things worse in the process by further denying justice its purpose, and was in an emotional situationship with sebastian at the same time. took a hard turn into mage hatred after leandra's death at the hands of a blood mage and meredith got her claws hooked into her. no one knows what's going on with her and meredith. killed her lover and father of her unborn child both out of mercy and justice, sided with the templars to 'get it over and done with quickly'. becomes known as "the butcher of the gallows."

arthur trevelyan (he/him, 49-52yo in da:i, human noble, gay) — noble born and bred, thrived in the circle predominantly due to family interference (aunt paying off templars) and his family name protecting him. extremely pro-circle and anti-rebellion (vocal about reform, however), known templar fucker (had an on-and-off again relationship with one for 20+ years), chose to go to therinfal after finding out what happened to the mages in redcliffe, celene died on his watch and put gaspard on the orlesian throne because he was going for stability over progress and then actively ghosts said emperor. encouraged dorian to speak with his father again because he was somewhat projecting. caused a scandal by getting into a relationship with his qunari bodyguard 12 years younger than him.

hissera trevelyan (she/her, 21-22yo in datv, qunari shadow dragon, bisexual) —thedas' most recognisable nepo baby. in a fashion. constantly got in trouble in the orphanage for either fighting, talking back or letting off homefashioned smoke bombs in the privy. fucked up work with the shadow dragons on such a scale she had to leave minrathous bc magisters were pissed. has been arrested multiple times for theft, murder and destruction of public property but has always been released because someone keeps pulling strings (#nepobabyprivileges.) probably overthinks about all the ways she could painfully kill a venatori. is absolutely not qualified for her job but she got it anyway because nepotism ig???? got hit with the ben-hassrath allegations by her friend's mother and she was just like 🤨no? 🤨thanks for asking? 🤨even though she has absolutely had some form of training from her dad. picked a fight with that aspect of mythal Just Because, and then didn't even use it at the end because of pettiness.

I've to say I struggled a lil bit to come up with a background for the Kaedehara's matriarch. However Mama reader here is a highly skilled adventurer. Just like her husband, she loves to travel, explore and she collect artifacts. Our Lara Croft I'd say hahaha

Éveline's mom is a very fluent merchant. I must say I'm keeping the idea of her being a "former smuggler" from one of my previous fanfics for Neuvi. She's pretty smart and she can get a lot of informations around Teyvat which, sometimes, contributes to her husband's work.

Cyno's wife is an eremite and she used to do some illegal stuffs, that's the main reason why she crossed his way. But now that she's married to Akademiya's mahamatra and has two sons with him, she works at tavern as a bartender. Although sometimes she also does some temporary jobs as bodyguard for those who dare to explore the desert.

ohhhhh GOOD ONE, good one. Thank you, Truffle! From my Ugly OC Asks Game Rose is squarely in her 'I want to piss off my mom' phase through her twenties, so I think in some way she intentionally latched on to unpopular opinions to get a reaction out of her. More specifically Rose is pretty outspokenly pro-mage rights, except she doesn't really know that much about it. So she's just this perfect storm of like idealistic fervor and sheltered ignorance and stubborn righteousness that isn't necessarily grounded in anything but feelings and her own traumatic, though limited experience. (She witnessed her elder brother Jaime die as an abomination when he was collected to go to the Circle). This carries over to Inquisition, where she is now in a position to see how not so black and white the issue is, that there would be consequences to just wholesale 'freeing the mages' in one splashy well-meaning move. So I kind of feel like the people around her who are more experienced and knowledgeable than her are just kind of either annoyed or 'head pats' about her (or in perfect agreement lol depending on the person). This is obviously a point of major growth for her as she matures, but it isn't easy or pretty at times, especially because part of it involves coming to terms with her brother's death. I love my fierce and sometimes fiercely wrong child 🤣 (picture me facepalming at times in the background)

It's a Gale x Tav (OC) spicy one-shot. (not in this snippet) The summary is basically a spicy/inappropriate use of mage hand.

"Really now? You're telling me you never used it for that? I know how you get about books."

"Well, I mean, maybe once or twice?"

"Sure, sure," El chuckled as he poked the man a few more times. Gale was all but glaring at the mage hand, which only made the scene funnier.

"Any other good uses out of it?" he questioned, frowning a little as he intensely looked at the hand. Part of it was so strange. He could command the hand to do almost anything. It needed barely a thought and it moved around, just like with his own, actual, hands. But the strange thing about it was getting no feedback. He could hold something hot or cold, he wouldn't know. Which was probably a big pro for using mage hand. Or hold something with a painful surface. Or something soft. Almost with a mind of his own the hand started to caress Gale's shirt.

"It’s a bit unfortunate that I get no sensory feedback. At all," he sighed. He was certain the shirt should feel soft under his touch, but there was nothing to it. Just the acknowledgement in the back of his mind that he was still controlling the mage hand.

"Well anyway. Any other good uses of-" he cut himself of midsentence as he looked up at Gale. The wizard was intensely staring at the mage hand still caressing his chest, swallowing heavily. He looked a bit tense with his hands balled at his side.

"Ah, I'm-" he started, moving the hand away from Gale's chest, thinking he overstepped. That thought quickly changed when he saw Gale almost chasing the hand and letting out a sigh. Instead, he moved the mage hand back. First caressing Gale's shirt like he'd done before. Before moving with a bit more intent, using his fingertips with a bit more pressure behind it.

"So, there are other interesting uses for mage hand," he commented. His smile slowing forming into a little smirk. Slowly becoming a bit bolder. Watching Gale's face intensely. Gale's face was an open book, one he could easily watch for a long time to find all the ways it reacted. Though he was also looking for discomfort, any signs that he was overstepping.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 1 & 2 (roleplayed like this too as the Half-Brench Half-Human Poharu, and the fault lies within the games of Xenoverse because Cell sounded VERY MUCH flirtarious with the player - honestly by DLC6 it was no longer a subtext it was clear)

Samurai/Dynasty/Orochi Warriors (the later is where my username comes from, I used to have the handle "not-yet-a-dragon") also Hisahide was H.O.T

And a little bit of Elder Scrolls Online (look. unhealthy ship too. But that Molag Bal got his ass handed to him by the Vestige, who accidentally ended up his champion, it's unfortunately the very kind of things that makes me ship two characters in hate-ship)

Thalia's is that she's definitely pro-nobility, being part of the aristocratic class. She considers that kind of social hierarchy an inevitable part of society, and I don't think there's really much in Thedosian history to make her think otherwise. There wasn't really an Ancient Rome where the Republic as a form of government is known to the people who come after. She also highly believes in noblisse oblige, that while it is her right to lead, she has a responsibility to care for and protect her subjects. She would scoff at the idea of socialism, oh my God. LOL

What's an unsavory detail about your OC or opinion they have (to their peer group)?

I actually think they might be two sides of the same coin here. That is, that Thalia freed the mages, and she really refuses to see that that might not have been a universal good for everyone, especially mages themselves. In my world state, there's now no free public mage education outside of Tevinter (which is being besieged by Qunari, so that might not even be the case for much longer). This has led to the rise of private mage colleges that rely on the cost of tuition and individual funding to stay afloat. As a result, this generally means that people of means can send their kids to mage school, and everyone else is sort of SOL. (There are a few mage community schools, especially in Ferelden, where Thalia was able to personally oversee the projects, but the demand far, far exceeds the supply. Even Fiona's College of Enchanters run out of the Gallows in Kirkwall, which is supposed to be the best free option, has a waitlist years long.)

Meira, from her POV, benefited from mage liberation in terms of no longer having to fear capture by Templars and being sent to a Circle, but she also barely knows how to do magic at all. Since the College of Enchanters was run out of Nevarra by the Mortalitasi, her only option for magic instruction was studying necromancy, which – after a disastrous matchmaking attempt by her father to marry her off to Emmrich Volkarin, she vehemently does not want to do. (lmao, there's a fic I should finish.)

She would argue that's her right to be ignorant, essentially, but I don't think a ton of people agree with her. Some still think she should have been confined to a Circle and harass her when they find out she's a mage, which isn't really an incentive to learn more on her own, either. Or really even out herself as one at all – which, one might argue, is still a form of oppression. Even Lucanis has some extremely opinionated views on how suddenly all the mages being freed in Antiva caused a huge mess he had to help clean up. Buuuut he's quick to carve out exceptions for his girlfriend, at least. Which is what I believe is called "hypocrisy"!

Canon worldstate is as follows:

Hero of Ferelden - Aurelian Tabris, city elf rogue. My angriest little guy who has also been dad-coded from the moment he could speak. Snarky little shit. Nicknamed Knives by Varric in the future for the sheer amount he carries on him at any given time.

He romanced Zevran, and has a co-parenting besties relationship with Morrigan. His canon changed a bit awhile ago, as he now spares Loghain 1) because he believes the best revenge in this case is making him do the right thing and stop the Blight and 2) my Cousland, Inka, is also canon here, and he was her mentor, so she'd be Very Sad if he died. Voted most problematic of my canon characters. Notably distrustful of humans and almost annoyingly atheistic.

He went from being the Dark Wolf during his crime spree in Denerim to being known as the Wolf of Amaranthine during the DAI to DATV era because he returned from his quest in the Anderfels basically with the sole intent to stop Solas from manipulating the elves of Ferelden. Speaking of which, was a key figure in encouraging Anora and her consort (welcome back Inka Cousland) to begin the process of dismantling the enforcement of alienages in Ferelden. Also helped Anders escape and get to Kirkwall, and adopted his cat.

Champion of Kirkwall - Percival "Percy" Hawke, elf-blooded blue pro-mage Anders romancer, who y'all can learn more about in my always-WIP longfic, The Mantle of the Champion!

Diplomatic to a fault, definitely his mother's son, parentified older sibling with crushing guilt. Also had a recent change of canon, where Carver now becomes a templar. Speaking of which, only turns red around templars. It's On Sight for Meredith. However, he counts himself as devoutly Andrastian, even if his views on magic and interfaith relations are borderline heretical.

Besties with Isabela. Enjoys baking, knitting, and reading in his spare time. Had a very close brotherly relationship with Sebastian, but that's a bit out the window at the moment, since he spared Anders and ran away with him. He and Anders are in the T4T romance of the century.

Inquisitor - Cianan Lavellan, Dalish rogue, alchemist/apothecary who enjoys nothing more than archery, climbing on things he shouldn't, herbalism, elfroot, and making unstable alchemical concoctions that he proceeds to explode on himself.

Nearest and dearest to my heart tbh. He's just a little guy who gets really excited to talk about philosophy and religion with people and watch them for uncomfortably long periods of time. The people watching skills are what got him hired to spy on the Conclave, and also what helped him bond with his future husband, the one and only Iron Bull.

Very, very Dalish. Devoted to the Creators (until DATV), practices traditional elven crafts, annoys Solas with it. Best friends with Vivienne, much to people's surprise. He's a much more bitter person after Trespasser, but he'll get better with time.

Rook - Sulana'lin "Lin" Thorne, Dalish Grey Warden mage, first cousin (once removed) to Aurelian. Grew up in Ferelden during the Fifth Blight, but instead of being afraid of the blight, became fascinated with studying it. Though he was First to his Keeper, he left his clan after the revelations about the elves in Trespasser, and decided to pursue his other main interest: ancient elven magic.

Got himself blighted in the Anderfels after finding a tome containing Ghilan'nain's research (and one of her original strains of the blight), and was allowed to join the Wardens by leveraging his knowledge to save himself. Except, after eight years, he blew up a building on some darkspawn and got himself exiled.

Following in the proud family tradition of drinking archdemon blood and kissing Crows, he romanced Lucanis. He's sarcastic, but he always means well. Proud book club member, best friends with his fellow nerdy mages, Emmrich and Bellara. Notable Caterina Dellamorte hater. Determined to solve this whole situation with Solas through the power of friendship and incredible violence.
