it feels reverent, like an act of worship. taking these characters that everyone adores & participating in their lives, entwining my life with theirs. and putting them in scenarios that set off different facets of them

i love these people and am writing for an audience who loves them. that's all. very pure

and of course self-indulgent like.. how about we not kill our darlings. in tutti i sensi

He died looking at the dark starless sky, the world illuminated by fire and smoke. And then he blinks. Newt regains consciousness the day of his death, the day they rescue Minho from WCKD and Newt never makes it out alive. And then he does it again, and again. Will he ever make it past this night? What will happen once he does? (Or, Newt is stuck in a time loop- until he isn’t.)

Chapter 1 of 12 has been posted. This one's gonna be a ride! Based on the movie-verse, it's the Newt time-loop fic that I proposed previously. It's all planned out and getting written. However, I promise this fic is not going to be prioritized before 'i have a memory'. (Even though this one is going to be finished first, most likely, it's good practice.) What should the endgame be? Newtmas or Thominewt? 🤔

So I'm thinking of going back and looking over my old writings, and maybe revising them. A few years have passed since they were posted, and I feel like my writing has improved (possibly haha). I just want to be able to give all of you writing thats to the best of my ability, and I want to see if I can do that now. — My opinion about The Maze Runner ships —

This post is completely about my personal opinions, if you don’t like it, please just ignore it!

Newtmas

Well if you ever checked my blog you should know that Newtmas is my favorite ship. I loved this ship since the first time I watched the movies. There was always some sort of special connection between Thomas and Newt, not this type of “best friends”connection, but lovers connection. The way they were always needing each other, trusting each others words and opinions. Newt was always looking for Thomas, watching him, having his back, and Thomas was always thinking of Newt before anyone else (Example: “Newt and the others”). Considering Newt is confirmed gay, it’s just makes sense if he was in love with Thomas.

Minewt

I always saw them as soulmates, but in a friend way. I see them more as best friends than lovers, but I won’t deny that they also have a super strong connection like Newtmas, and I like reading fanfics of them from time to time. I don’t hate it, and I kind of like it, just not my favorite!

Thominewt

I like this ship, I feel like they complement each other, but I always kind of see the duo in the trio (newtmas), and because of that I can’t fully enjoy the ship.

Thomesa

Im sorry to anyone who likes this ship, but is a huge no for me. I see them more as siblings than lovers due to their type of relationship before Thomas lost his memories. It feels really forced, like Thomas saw Teresa recognized him, and since she was a girl they just assumed they were lovers in the past. Apart from that, Teresa in the books made Thomas suffer a lot of things he didn’t deserve, and she deserved to lose Thomas love.

Trenda

I mean, they are end game in the books, and they have an special connection. They look cute as a couple, but at the same time I see them as best friends or even siblings (in the movies, Brenda says something like “you remind me to my little brother” to Thomas, which kind of confuses me since I don’t think you would see someone you like as your brother) still, I think it’s obviously not a bad ship, and it’s canon.

Thominho

It’s a cute ship for me, their personalities are completely opposite, so I feel like they are a good match. I don’t have a lot to say to this ship, it’s not my favorite, but I like it and the quotes they have in the book are actually appealing.

Thominally

For some reason, I really like this ship. I don’t have any explanation to it, I read things of them and I just like it. It’s a weird ship? To me, yes. I like it? Absolutely. But, I don’t like Thomally, I just like the ship if Minho is in it too.

Yes. Absolutely. Totally. I love them.

Nalby

For me, Newt was totally in love with Alby before Thomas arrival (and well maybe Albys death yk). Fanfics of them before Thomas arrival in the glade i find them cute and entertaining. After Thomas arrival I just don’t see it anymore.

Brenderesa

If we are talking about canon-compliant, it’s an absolute nonsense. They hated each other and there’s no possible way they would have actually liked each other if Teresa somehow survived. But if we are not talking about canon-compliant, I totally love it.

Sonya/Harriet

They were utterly in love, nothing more to add.

Minho/Brenda

Well, they kind of have similar personalities, yes I kinda see it.

Minho/Ben

I don’t dislike it, I just think that we had little to nothing about Ben, and I don’t really know where we get the ship from. Apart from that, I saw it in a couple of fanfics and yes I like it when it’s like a secondary couple.

Summary: when you decide to become a runner, Newt is less than happy.

(Hi, just wanna say, I’m currently working on a big fanfic, so keep an eye out for that)

(Also I’m posting two fanfics today because it’s the start of the summer holiday for me, so, 😁)

you pound on the door, Thomas standing at you shoulder watching you. “Newt, I know you’re in there, come out.” you can hear him moving around on the other side of the door, but it does not open.

looking over to Thomas, you see him chewing his lip, looking anxiously and sympathetically at the door. you continued to hit the door with your now aching fists, shouting his name.

eventually the lock clicks and the door creaks open a little, with Newt’s face, half hidden in shadow, looking out of it.

you open your mouth, but he holds up his hand. “Listen, I know you want to be a runner, but,” he breathes deeply, “y/n, I know what’s in that maze, it’s more dangerous than you could ever imagine”

he cuts you off as you open your mouth again to retort, “yes, I know, your not stupid, but I know you, if someone else was dying, you would run to try and save them, wouldn’t you”

you don’t answer him, the truth was you would, it often was the only reason he was furious with you. running in to try and save him from anything and usually getting hurt yourself.

“y/n, you need to listen to me, if you’re going to do this, I want you to know something.” he looks at you in the eyes, seriousness glistening in his own. “y/n, if someone gets caught by a griever and you have the opportunity, you can’t save them.”

“that stupid, we have the cure, why not save them”

“If a griever catches you, you’re dead, no matter whether you’re a greenie or someone like Minho, you’re dead.”

he looks grimly at Thomas and you look at him too. he’s looking grave, and you can see what he’s saying is true.

“Newt” Thomas speaks for the first time, “y/n can take care of herself, and if not, I’ll take care of her”

Newt flares up instantly, “don’t Thomas, you won’t always be able to. you know how it works, only when your a greenie do you move in a group, rest of the time your alone. what do you think she’ll do if she sees someone caught by a griever. huh? go on say it.”

Thomas doesn’t answer or look at his friend.

“That’s what I thought”

Newt looks back over to you, “it’s not that I don’t trust you y/n,” he puts a hand of your shoulder but you push him away.

“It’s pretty obvious that you don’t trust me.”

hurt and frustration flashes in his dark eyes and he says in a loud voice, “I’m scared y/n, what do you think I’d do if you died. what do you think I’d do without you”

you know exactly what he was getting at, and shut your mouth tightly, blinking rather rapidly.

he opens the door more and holds his arms open, with you walking into them. he pulls you into him and lets you bury your head in his chest. “hey, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you, I’m just worried about you” he breathes into your ear, stroking you hair.

you hug him tightly, “I’m glad you care about me, but I can do it, Thomas’ll look after me”

Thomas laughs, “if I don’t I’ll get snapped in half by yours truly.” you laugh, a little shakily, still wrapped in Newt’s arms.

“hey, do you want to stay with me tonight.” you nod and Thomas quickly leaves after a good night, as Newt carries you, bridal style, into the room, closing the door with his foot.

he lowers you slowly onto his hammock and climbs in beside you once he’s sure you’re comfortable. after a few minutes of laying in silence, Newt says in an anxious voice, “are you alright y/n, are you still upset”

“I’m alright”, you turn over to face him, and see his eyes streaked with worry. he reaches for your hand, “good, look I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that, it was tactless.”

“no, no, no” you cup his cheek in your hand, “it was honest, it might be sad, but it was the truth, and the truth can be sad.”

he strokes your hand with his thumb and looks at you silently, after a moment he whispers, “I love you y/n.”

you smile, “I love you too.”

MY OPINION: This fanfic is definitely unique and written well. I can definitely say that the zombie story is more prominent than any romance between Draco and Hermione and their story is INSIDE the main story. Unfortunately for me, it dragged on a bit especially at the end and Hermione was a bit OOC as well. With that being said, it definitely felt like I was reading the Maze Runner or a similar story because that side of it was brilliant. It was unfortunately the Dramione side that I didn't enjoy as much. ETL Echo did an amazing job once again with this podfic!

Which character from any media would you like to have as a father? 

Sean Maguire from Good Will Hunting (i.e., Robin Williams's character). Maybe not a very exciting or fun answer, and there's probably a lot of reasons to not pick him, but he just seems to be an extraordinarily good man who wants to help people get to a better place in their own lives, who is trying his hardest to get through the day to day, made some mistakes, loved his wife very much, and can make people who are really going through it still manage to laugh and see the world in a new perspective.

If money, laws, time, and effort were no object, what animal would you want to have?

Dragon is a hell of a good answer @michellemisfit, but if money and time and help were no object but I think I'd be intimidated by that (also I wouldn't know what to feed it!) I think I'd want either a highland cow (because once I got to pet one and it licked me and followed me around and I loved him) or a horse, because I think they're neat.

What is your Chinese takeout order? 

General Tso's Chicken, crab rangoon if they have it, steamed spring rolls.

What's your favorite emoji?

Would you rather have a library, greenhouse, or home theater in your house?

I was going to say library, but honestly? I might pick a greenhouse. A place that's filled with plants that I can go listen to music to even in wintertime and be warm and surrounded by nature? I think I'm going to have to pick the greenhouse.

What childhood tv show do you think of the most fondly?

Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, Power Puff Girls, and the old Pokemon tv show with Brock, Misty, and Ash.

What was your tumblr like when you first joined?

I had a shared computer with the entire house as a kid, so I did not have a tumblr then. I only saw it occasionally because I was a nerdfighter and saw fishingboatproceeds (and heard about the drama of that later). It wasn't until a couple years ago that I got a tumblr, so, not all that different to now. My tumblr was a pitiful attempt at being a writing blog, but I got more interested in fandom pursuits instead. Some things have stayed the same, though, like having an obscure icon lol.

What clothing style do you love but don't feel compelled to replicate yourself?

Dark feminine academia. Black ribbons in the hair, the plaid pleated skirts with the ripped nylons or the smoke color pleated pants, the black mary janes, the cranberry or bourbon or navy colored sweaters with the collared shirt poking out underneath, the neat dark nail polish, the dark lipped makeup. I always think it looks really cool, but a) a ribbon is going to just become a mess in my hair, b) that particular brand of feminine style and color palette rarely looks good on me, and c) seems like a lot of freaking effort that I'm not willing to put in.

If you were plopped into a fictional world, which one would you know the layout of the best?

I know the Legend of Zelda: BOTW map pretty well. The Glade in the Maze Runner is pretty simple so I think I'd know it pretty well, but I do not want to be there lmao.

What is your favorite piece of art? 

This is a really hard question, um. I do love art, my brain provides things like Claude Monet or seaside paintings, but I'm going to be honest, I'm always more enchanted by the architecture of things and places -- I love to do "urban hiking". One of the most amazing places I ever got to explore was Radio City Music Hall in New York City. I learned a lot about why they designed the interior areas the way they did, and it was just such an amazing experience.

Do you have a water bottle? what does it look like?

Yes! I have a yellow one with a bunch of stickers of places I've been.

What fanfic trope is a quiet fave?

It's not even quiet for me -- character A is injured and character B patches them up. I love it.

Do you carry a daily bag? what does it look like? what's the weirdest thing in it?

I've got two. A burgundy faux-leather-looking bag for when I need to carry a bunch of stuff and look professional, such as files, a water bottle, my laptop, and other personal belongings. Otherwise I have an old thrifted purse made of green corduroy and a button with an engraved hummingbird on it that perfectly fits my laptop and my journal and one book. Attached to it is a small pouch I was given by a friend that I put my headphones case into.

If you had to ship Mickey with another Gallagher, who would it be?

I'm a fan of enemies to lovers, lol, so I would probably explore a Mickey/Lip dynamic. Also the amount of sarcasm and actually the frightening capabilities the two would have together would be fascinating.

What is a fanfic trope you didn't expect to like and then very much did?

I actually love post-sex scenes, particularly like aftercare scenes. I was not expecting that.

Do you think s11 Mickey can still carry s11 Ian?

Yup. I kind of think Mickey would make a show of it every time Ian feels weird about his own body, he would pick him up and show Ian he's still his lumbering ginger boy.

Who got custody of the killing bat when they sold the house?

@lingy910y's Mickey and Carl fighting over the bat is GOLD, but I also see Ian quietly grabbing the baseball bat and handing it to Debbie while they're arguing for actual purposes of "I want you to have this and stay safe wherever you are."

Yk when there’s a movie that’s so good and everytime you watch it, it only gets better? That’s how I feel about What Happened to Monday God, there are barely any fanfics on it and maybe 4 edits about it? It’s so good but nobody knows it, and sadly I know why.

The movie came out in 2017, it represents a society in the future where they’ve issued government control over how many children you have, you can only have 1 per family. Siblings are taken away and put in cyrosleep until the population drops. It shows 7 sisters, whose grandfather kept them a secret for 30 years, each of them going out a different day of the week.

Even with how good it is, the main character is Noomi Rapace, a very talented female actor. Knowing our world is taken over by males, it makes sense that She isn’t very well known. No matter how talented someone is, they’ll always be thrown aside if they aren’t a man. It’s so fucked up, but yk that’s how sexism works. They keep this hidden, it’s just another movie that is barely even watched anymore. Another movie that was never popular like the hunger games, the maze runner, divergent. You know why? Because in all those movies there’s a man who fights everything, there’s a man that’s controlling the way the world is- President Snow, Thomas, Newt, Minho, Four. Yes there are badass girls but there has never been a movie when it’s just them, they don’t need help. But this movie has that, a female who took over the world, made this rule, seven females who are each skilled in their own way, none of them need a man.

Some people can’t take knowing that. They can’t live with having that movie out there without there being a major male character always there to save the day, or a male character as a villain. So, very respectfully, watch “What Happened to Monday” and, fuck sexism.

Hello there! Welcome to my blog, please call me Alex, I use she/they, I am queer asexual, and autistic (yes professionally diagnosed). This is just a place for me to upload my small fanfictions. I have been writing for about nine or ten years and used to focus primarily on fanfictions, especially Maze Runner, Haikyuu and My Hero Academia, however in 2021 or so I started focusing on my own OC stories. That said, I am back now! Red dead is simpily too good to resist writing about.

Why did I make this blog? The Nanny McPhee fandom is very devoid of well-written and structured fanfics, and has little to no art! I really love this movie, and I want to provide some from of media for it, as I know there are some fans who are struggling to find some. I doubt this blog will gain any popularity, but I know there are some fans out there dying to get some content. I just want to give this fandom some media, character analysis posts and expand the universe of Nanny McPhee! I want to explore the characters thoughts and feelings, they’ve all been through so much. And I know lots of younger people are getting into Nanny McPhee and watching it for the first time because of Thomas Brodie Sangster, and they have come to Tumblr to look for some fan content on it.

A few notes : I am autistic, and got diagnosed when I was 15! Sometimes I may be a little inactive on this blog, but that’s because I am so busy IRL right now, lol. I do take requests, but I may not do all of them.
