Marry: Oh dear you’re definitely sick, that won’t do. Here, take your-oh? Tastes terrible you say? Well no matter, I’ve got this spoonful of sugar that will fix that right up for you
McPhee: Sick? Really? Alright then *pulls out a bowl of authentic 2005 CGI liquid*

The second Marry Poppins movie canonically states that adults forget the magic when they age and are magically gaslit into thinking they made it all up and she was just a banger babysitter, which makes sense and preserves the wonder a little
The Nanny McPhee sequel not only establishes the adults remember their time with Nanny McPhee but also that there are way more children then just the Brown family and Green family. This implies there’s just an unspoken assumption that these children will grow up and keep their fucking mouths shut about that weird magic lady that came to their house for a week. This too implies if she continues her operations to this very day that they probably set up a chat room/healing circle of sorts
Anyway I just think it be funny if the two were out for a walk and some grown adults ran up to chat with McPhee and one gestured to Marry and went “oh is she a nanny like you” and Marry, very quickly and matter-o-factly, goes “oh heavens no, we’re nothing alike” cuz she knows how to keep a fucking secret

Heartbreak is that moment in Nanny McPhee where Colin Firth is running through the woods after his great-aunt-in-law’s carriage because he thinks she’s taken his daughter and he can’t catch up and just drops to his knees and cries

Okay so Harry Potter headcanon
Mary Poppins, Nanny McPhee and Willy Wonka not only all went to Hogwarts in the same years, but were all in Ravenclaw.
Hear me out: Harry, Ron and Hermione were Griffindor by choice. Harry should have been Slytherin, Ron should have been Hufflepuff and Hermione should have been Ravenclaw.
In the same way, Mary Poppins could have been Griffindor, Nanny McPhee could have been Slytherin and Willy Wonka could have been Hufflepuff.
In particular, I love the idea that Poppins and McPhee are sisters. They don’t age and when compared side by side have similar appearances. It’s admittedly not a ton of evidence, but the idea does make me at least a little happy.
