Well, I reblogged one of my ancient "trailer talk" videos for Alice's birthday back on May 4th, so I figured I could do the same for Victor's birthday today! :) Now, I admit, it was very much a toss-up between this one and the longer one with the poem, and I almost went with the latter --

But the, upon rewatching this one, it hit me. The background music on this trailer?

Yeah, I had to go with the one that had the Inadvertent Alton Towers Connection. XD So yeah, enjoy this very blurry blast from the past!

Trailer Talk #9: Corpse Bride Trailer 1 (credit to KEGUNC)

Okay, having finally finished with Alice, we move onto Corpse Bride! Which only has two trailers (or maybe three? I saw one that claims to be an official trailer, but it looks to me like a cut-up version of the longer trailer), so these’ll go by faster. At any rate, I give you the first and shorter of the trailers.

This is a pretty good trailer overall – the music chosen is fun to listen to and matches the editing used, and the clips show us some good moments. I was actually kind of disappointed that Victor’s nervous “mmmmm” didn’t go on as long as suggested in this trailer. I also like the “tagline” – “One wedding. Two brides. A grave misunderstanding.” It gets one intrigued by the story. Some further notes:

I confess I don’t understand why the “land of the living” bits were partially colorized for these segments, but it is kind of nice to see what color clothes everyone is wearing. William looks particular garish in that orange suit, and I find it hilarious that Victor is still pretty much the palest even in “color.”

I’m still trying to figure out that shot of Victor apparently running away from the church. Since this never happens in the movie proper (trailers always lie!), I suspect that’s actually speeded up footage of Victoria going TO the church run backward. It makes no sense to waste precious time and footage shooting shots for the trailer (even if the thing was filmed on digital – stop motion still takes a long time).

Similarly, I’d bet you dollars to doughnuts that shot of Emily rising in this trailer was test footage they deemed good enough for trailer purposes.

Why does Finish say “Marvelous news daughter” instead of “Marvelous news Victoria?” I suppose it could be an alternate take of the line, but the daughter sounds shoehorned in there to me.

All in all, I like this trailer, and I think it does its job well.

quick question (pun intended, even though I’m not asking abt him XD) what is Shadow Man’s role/personality like in your AU? From what I’ve seen, it’s like he’s pretty young and Top Man is kind of his friend? Guardian?

So. The 3 bots!!! They are so so cute to me (I call everything cute) because I love that they were made to function specifically as a team! A team to travel space together and mine power crystals?? They are so fun.

After the events of the 3rd game (which I will. Hopefully draw out one day) the 3 bots actually get to do their job!!! (After a lot of convincing from dr.light to the government or w/e that these robots will not go rogue again.)

Top (the leader), Needle, Spark, Magnet, Hard, Snake and Gemini all travel into space in a giant ship (I like to imagine they reused gamma in some way for this…I haven’t drawn it out yet tho) and investigate interstellar power sources!

Their missions are going great and their reports back to Light are pretty normal! Until…

During one if his expeditions, Top stumbles upon an injured robot…in the middle of space??

Concerned, they take him back to their ship where he quickly charms the entire crew with his odd personality and adowable face. He doesn’t talk much, but he’s super excited to meet everyone, especially Top.

Eventually, they go back home to Earth and bring the mystery robot to Doctor Light but for some reason-

They have *absolutely* not clue what the hell he’s made out of. Although he has the looks of a robot, he seemingly doesn’t have any actually mechanical components! Anytime they try to get a reading on what’s goin on in there, the images come out blurry and weird. Light worries about what would happen if Wily heard about this mysterious life form….(spoiler alert. He totally hears about it later)

In the meantime, the 3 bots offer to keep an eye on him. Light allows it, and thus, we have the final full 3rd group!

With a great team spirit and hardworking attitudes the 3 bots have a bit more spice added to their lives with the addition of “Shadowman”! Named such due to his tendency to hide behind others like a shadow :^3

It must’ve been fate that lead them to each other…

Anyways. TLDR- yes, Top is like a guardian of sorts for Shadow lmao. He found a weird space baby and said “yeah, I’ll adopt him.” Little did he know that the space baby had this all planned from the beginning.

If you're still looking for writing prompts: Unlike his memories as ice king, Simon's memories of the apocalypse are "fresher" so to speak. Maybe he gets a nightmare about it? Just cruising through collassal loss of life and stuff I guess xD

An echo of a scream rings in Simon's ears as his eyes snap open and his limbs lock up. There's vicious sense of vertigo, as if the world turned upside down. Then his knees hit something solid, sending a jolt of pain up his spine, and causing his senses to crash and bleed into each other. He tastes the cold grey of cement and hears the sour smoke of burning rubber. It takes him precious seconds to sort through the mess.

Simon doesn't remember falling asleep. That's… not good. And his memories are cloudier than a polluted puddle. Images of ruined cities and ravenous hordes flash through his mind but he can't make sense of it

Likely, he got knocked. By what? He doesn't know. Where's Marcy? Possibly, they got separated when he got knocked out. But she's a smart girl. She knew to run and hide when a real baddie showed up. He would find her. He would always find her.

He pushes himself to his feet, noting the area in brief, broad strokes. A warehouse of some kind. Someone's home. A couch. An ironing board. A kitchen. A kitchen!

Stumbling over, Simon pops open the cupboards and eureka! This place hasn't been looted yet! He grabs boxes of cereals and granola bars and cans of soup. He doesn't have his bag with him, likely lost in the scrap that knocked him out. But one doesn't survive the apocalypse without being clever.

He dumps out the trash can and reuses the bag to store his windfall of resources. Hmm… From the looks of the place - practically pristine, then there's a good chance that there's more resources to find. Perhaps, he could chance upon a medkit of some sort. Yes.

Yes.

But would he need one, really? He could fight off any threat that came his way. He just needed to use all the tools in his possession.

His hand strays to his hips where he keeps the Crown. He wouldn't put it on, of course. The threat has passed. But… But maybe he should. So he won't get caught off guard again. Except, his fingers brush empty air. The Crown was not with him.

tHe cRoWn Was NOt wIth Him

No. No, no, no, no. Where is it? He must have his Crown!

He searches the warehouse - tipping over the couch, throwing aside the ironing board. Carpets are kicked up, coffee tables are shoved away. He runs and he ransacks every inch of the place, but he doesn't find the Crown.

Simon does find the door. It resembles a garage door - a heavy thing, made of thick sheet metal. Silly, wimpy Simon would never be able to lift it. But adrenaline bloats his veins and he heaves. His back creaks something awful and a sharp, pinching pain shoots up his spine. None of that matters because he pulls open the door. He can get out!

He barely has the presence of mind to grab his sackful of food. But at the very last second, he remembers and reaches over to sling the bag over his shoulder. Marcy will like the soup - it's got her favorite kind.

First, he must find Marcy. And the Crown. Yes, first find the Crown. Then Gunther. Feed her chicken soup.

Wait. It's bright. Why is it so bright? His eyes hurt. He can barely see. What was that? Movement. Oh no. Everywhere. Noise. Crowds. He's surrounded. There's too many! Where's the Crown?!?

He starts running. He has no idea where he's going. His sight has abandoned him. But he can hear them - all of them - their shuffling, their gasps, their ooze drooling and dripping out.

"Simon?" "What's up with him?" "Is he taking out his trash?"

The mutants have mutated. Now they sound nearly like the humans they once were, as if they were speaking. But it's all a trick. Simon knows better. And he doesn't have his Crown. And what about Gunther? No, focus you fool. Marcy. Marcy is not here. He needs to find her. He needs to make sure she's safe. The Crown would know where to look.

"Mr. Petrikov?"

He smashes into a body - soft, pliant, warm - and tumbles, head over heels, to the ground. Pain cracks from his nose as he lands face first on the asphalt. Shouting. Something grabs his shoulders. No, no, no. They're all on him! They're piling up! They're going to bury him alive!!!

Using all his limbs, Simon begins to fight back. He digs his elbows into hollow eye sockets and pounds his knuckles against bare, sensitive sides. He swings kicks at all nearby stomachs and bites every hand that tries to touch him.

They must have done the same to Marcy. They must have taken her. They must have taken the Crown!

"You took her! Give her back! Give her back!!!" He shouts, emptying his lungs into a furious, ruinous cry. It leaves his throat rough and raw, stinging with each breath.

"What the donk!" "Crazy bastard…" "Everyone, please!"

The press of bodies slide and shift. A gap! Simon lunges for it, legs primed to dash. He gets caught. Strong arms - soft as steel - wrap around his arms, over his chest. No! He was so close! He was so fucking close!

"Hey!"

A grey visage appears before him as a pair of hands cup his face carefully. Thumbs stroke circles beneath his eyes as a melody is hummed - familiar and faint. Why, it sounds like the theme song for Cheers, that old sitcom.

"Breathe, there we go. Just keep looking at me."

Simon notes a pair of black eyes, fangs, pointed ears - connects each feature into a fully formed face. He knows this face. He's watched this face through a thousand days. He knows the many ways this face can look - asleep, awake, sick, happy, scared. He would remember this face even under the Crown's chilled gold.

"- Simon Petrikov. You are 59 years old. It's Wednesday at 8 am in the morning. You're in the human city of Ooo. You're an antiquarian working at a 21st century museum -"

The words wash over him. He blinks, settling into his bones and bruised flesh. He's on the ground, kneeling. He's got pajamas on but no shoes. His sack of food was torn open, scattering cereal and granola across the streets. Oh. Oh god.

What… What had he been doing? Where was he going? Why…

His breath begins to speed up. Marcy squeezes his face, forcing him to look at her - only at her.

"You're okay. You're with me. We're safe, Simon. We're safe. You didn't let anything happen to us."

Simon hiccups, shaking hands reaching up to grab hold of Marcy's shoulders. He swallows what feels like a mouthful of sand - gritty and salty. He opens his lips, looking for the right words. But a fog has enveloped his brain, thicker than mud and just as transparent.

Marcy offers him a smile - tender yet tough. There's no hint of distress on his fearless Marceline.

"Let's get you outta here, okay? Can you stand?"

Simon mutely nods.

Marcy slides her hands down his face and on his shoulders, gently pulling up. Simon manages to find his feet, thankfully not injured from his morning run. Haha. His doctor always told him to include more exercise in his routine. She can't complain now, maybe.

Marcy'a arm drapes over the back of his neck as she hovers like a second shadow. Her long hair acts as a curtain, hiding the rest of the world from view. Well. They probably didn't have a shock blanket on hand. But this way is better.

He leans into her hold as he concentrates on each step. There will conversations - difficult conversations - when they get back to his place. He's not looking forward to any of it. But that's later. Right now, he want to get off the street, away from everyone else.

As if reading his mind, Marcy murmurs, "We're almost there. Just keep walking, Simon. Just keep walking."

Simon grits his teeth. He takes another step. The concrete is hard and unyielding beneath the naked pads of his feet. But he doesn't stop. He's gotten this far. He can go a little further.

WiP - Allen's Innocence - Part 3

Up to the second Innocence Arm! Or as I call it "V2".

Started with shaping the parts again, as I had prepared everything the day prior I hoped to get it done this day.

tbh I still need more hands to sew those on XD

Shaping and glueing the ... uhm... scales?

This is quite similar to the other Innocence, just less parts.

Fingers and nails, hurray.

But somehow... I wasn't satisfied how this looked like? Like yes this was how I imagined it but as I tested the cross on it it looked super ...plain.

I also wasn't sure how to attach it? Sewing on was planned but the parts are so small and.... nope.

Therefore I decided to make another "armor" part, for the hand this time. I knew how it worked and had the pattern. I quickly made it up but underestimated the drying times.

I sewed it on and glued the part but the .. Cross needed forever to dry as I thought I should give another technique a go.

That means

Right now it's unfinished and waits for the final paint but it needs to dry first.

A few touch ups here & there are left too.

The last modifications went rather fast as this is a technique I have used for dolls countless times. Sanded the glue, added pastels and then paint.

And done. Per 11/03/2024, in time for the bookfair!

This was a wild ride buuut I have learned a lot and I want to redo the glove for Crown Clown now and reuse some techniques I learned.

Ok, time for some of my Nintendo Direct thoughts! I'll go in announcement order:

Mario & Luigi: Brothership: Well, this came out of nowhere! After the closure of AlphaDream, I assumed the M&L series was dead, at least for the time being, so this was a really cool surprise. Mario RPG fans are eating good lately. Game looks really fun and charming and I'm looking forward to it!

Fantasian Neo Dimension: I'm not super familiar with this game but I've heard cool things about it so it's nice seeing it on Switch. I have soooooo many JRPGs in my backlog already though...

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD: This one was a bit of a disappointment, to be honest. Not that I don't like seeing a great game get an upgraded version available on a modern console, but man... it's been 10 years since the last original DK game, and all we can get is yet another remake? This is one of Nintendo's biggest and most iconic franchises and it feels like all they do with it these days is using it as Mario spin-off fodder. It's just sad. Oh well. Great game, though, highly recommended.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake: I haven't played much DQ outside of DQV (which is one of my favorite RPGs of all time) but this one is said to be a classic and I like the HD-2D look so it's definitely on my radar. Nice to see the first two games get remade as well. But I can't help but feel that what I really want is a DQV remake in this style. xD

NSO stuff: Great to see Four Swords live again in some form! Also ZERO MISSION FINALLY!! I've been wanting to replay that one lately. I'm not really interested in Turok or Perfect Dark but I guess it's a good thing that the West also has an "adult" version of the N64 app now, as that opens the door to more games.

Super Mario Party Jamboree: I've never been much of a Mario Party fan, but this one looks quite fun! At least it seems more interesting to me than the other Switch ones. I probably won't get it since I'm more of a solo gamer but I'll keep an eye on it.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom: HOLY SHIT!!! YES! YES! YES! Oh man, I'm soooo glad that this game exists! I LOVE 2D Zelda and I've been wanting a playable Zelda for so long. Also the gameplay looks so creative and fun! Not a huuuuge fan of it reusing the "toy" art style of the Link's Awakening remake (even though I loved it in that context) but I feel like this game has enough differentiating stuff to have its own identity, so I'm fine with it. Absolutely love this. Probably my favorite thing about the Direct, and it's releasing quite soon too! Can't wait!

Stray: Not a lot to say about this other than it's a game I really wanted to play back when it first released but I didn't have access to it. So it's great to have it on Switch! If the port doesn't suck I'll probably get it at some point.

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection: YESSSS!! These two are the only AA games I haven't played yet, and while I've considered emulating them for years, this is even better! Also great to see the second game get an official localization. So all around a great thing. AA7 when, Capcom? :P

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond: Oh man, what can I say? It's real. Seven years after being announced with just a logo, we finally got a real first look at it. A very short first look that didn't really show much, but a first look nonetheless. It was a bit disappointing seeing it get a 2025 release date, but oh well. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being a cross-gen release. We'll see. Can't wait to see more, and find out what's the deal with Sylux.

Overall I'd say it was a pretty good Direct! Nintendo is still giving the Switch a lot of love during its final years and that's great to see. Now, to keep working on that backlog...

VT/P.I.E. Headcanon list!!

This is all my personal takes and opinions, I guess also are canon in my “au”/spin off.

If there’s any you like from this you can take inspiration or adopt any of these if you like them I will not mind <3

But if you don’t like some of these (which is fine bc you don’t have to), please be kind, especially since some of these are based off/inspired by personal experiences as well as some of my Headmates experiences (that I got permission to use as headcanons 🙏🏻) I just hope people won’t find some of these upsetting? I don’t think they are upsetting but sometimes difference of opinions can be distressing so I understand 🫂

Anyways here goes:

Toast and Ghost have a queer platonic relationship (this one might be a hot take but also we need more rep like this Imo 🙏🏻)

The Level 25 demon from Spooker’s debut video is the one that turned Ghost into the Puppet. (And was probably the one who put those FNAF ghosts in Swift Taylor’s house lol)

Another lvl 25 demon one: I like to think it pulled “a Bipper” (Gravity Falls reference yes) and used Spooker’s body, that’s why you see Spooker as a “ghost” but then later on was normal/living again. Also why we see Spooker in the dimension where Housekeeper is trapped and later towards the end of the Puppet arc in the crypt where Ghost sees him. (Also watch the Haunted by Pennywise video 😭) I don’t think the demon lives in Spooker’s body like how people think demon!Jimmy does though.

Speaking of Jimmy, he’s a very traumatized alter (I’m a system in case anyone is concerned by that 😭🙏🏻 )

Ghost has some supernatural abilities? And is sensitive to dimensional shifts that happen (which happens a lot considering how unstable their world is) as well as understanding lower level paranormal entities, and sometimes visions of specific events (reference to Spooker’s debut video and “Johnny Ghost meets Freddy the dinosaur” video) and a few others that Jimmy also takes advantage of. Also dreams. He gets weird dreams sometimes.

Gavin Toast speaks in an American Accent sometimes, originally to separate himself from his twin.

I’ve already mentioned Ghost being intersex and demisexual I think but still adding it.

Dark Pit’s disappearance after joining P.I.E. In its early days has something to with Darth Calculus…

Ghost had a fear of umbrellas as a kid.

The Lvl 25 Demon and Stardust Sprinkleshine are a divorced couple/hsrs

Toast paid Josh to keep an eye on Ghost during his retirement arc (reference to my comic Heart Attack xD)

Timothy Casket and Chakalata Soup may have been business partners… before ending in disagreement.

Gavin maybe an Acalacam experiment that was only found out later by Darth Calculus (Gavin and Johnny T.’s father never learning that it actually sort of worked.)

Toast’s mother hates Ghost, except nowadays tries to hire people to kill him so he stops spending time with her son but ofc he keeps coming back like a damn revenant lmao

Spooker and Colon are boyfriends (sorry this is a ship but like they literally kissed in the 5 yr anniversary stream and I dreamt about it so I have to acknowledge it)

Spooker did used to have a crush on boyfailure Johnny Ghost though

The reason the VT world is so scuffed and has so many dimensions is bc they all live in the shattered remnants of a broken world.

My fan comic Supernatural Crossover, and Sherlock crossover on wattpad are technically canon to my spin off (except for the Gravity Falls one that one is retconned but fun fact Timothy Casket is in that one and I’m reusing the ideas from it for other things)

Timothy Casket totally wasn’t a serial killer and also totally didn’t get his kid(s) involved traumatizing them and changing the course of their lives forever.

Ghost has a twin brother but that’s mostly for Strive SMP shenanigans

Cardboard Friend is made up of many souls of children that possessed a cardboard toy creation made by Gregory…

There’s a cult out there somewhere with significant importance.

Johnny Ghost also has lead poisoning and some other issues bc of the old mansion’s condition (the one from the first Cardboard Friend video)

Johnny Ghost is also really pale because Cardboard Friend ate off his life force and sanity but got away probably in the Nick of time probably bc of some permanent effects?? (probably why that video made no fucking sense bc it was from Ghost/Gregory’s perspective)

It’s actually really traumatizing to separate twins from each other while they’re young. So if you take into consideration that Johnny Toast and Gavin were probably not allowed to interact and Ghost being separated from his twin too, that makes Ghost and Toast two twinless twins that trauma bonded to each other which is probably why they have a lot of separation issues.

Colon is a witchcraft practitioner (reference to “Moving didn’t go as Johnny planned” video)

I also used to believe Colon is a retired undercover cop or detective but also like ACAB and I barely remember why I came up with that so idk if I’ll keep it but I definitely need more Colon headcanons

Josh is also hired to babysit Woah for Spooker and Colon from time to time :3

Josh also makes really good pumpkin pie (since she was a pumpkin farmer) Ghost also really likes this pie.

Also Spooker is trans and pan while Colon is gay (these ones are special bc it was from a dream)

I’ll also add the universally accepted hc that Toast is bisexual (and demiromantic??)

Josh is also bi and polyamorous (maybe a demi girl but not sure yet)

Ghost is on the Spectrum, (most of pie probably is but the one I’m confident on is Ghost at least)

Sometimes paranormal entities can sort of fuse and/or mesh together to sometimes become stronger (but can separate… sometimes) *cough cough the paranormal tornado cough cough and CBF cough cough*

And lastly Ghost is 5’4, Toast is 6’6, Spooker is 5’7, and Colon is 6’1 (Gavin is the same height as J. Toast and Josh is either 5’3 or 5’5 I haven’t decided yet 😭)

TGCF donghua Season 2, Episode 8 thoughts

I couldn't even open the episode without screaming today for Reasons TM so yes I'm screaming some more. Very good ep. Spoilers for the show and the book below.

Hua Cheng being like, "Oh, you like it when I just rush in, gege >:3" -flirty-

Just kills me. Xie Lian so tickled pink by it, too. They're so in love.

Aww poor Guzi. He's so scared T-T I do appreciate that they made Guzi's father (and Guzi) wear brighter green roflmao So you know, "yeah that's him." (I mean they also keep focusing on him shots in case you missed "The only character in that bright a green" and "also he has a kid with him"). He's not bad looking. I assume Qi Rong is gonna modify how he looks somehow.

Another outfit change for Xie Lian. He's so cute! I love the idea that Hua Cheng just buys him clothes to wear and Xie Lian is like, "If it makes San Lang happy :D", and it's just this never-ending round of comfortable, pretty clothes that make him look nice. Not like his rough cultivator's garb (at least according to younger Xie Lian, it is very rough on his skin).

Hua Cheng's face when Xie Lian touches him aldkjaldaj Just like OMG GEGE TOUCHED ME HE TOUCHED ME (it's like that Spongebob Squarepants meme with brain Spongebobs running around screaming while his brain is on fire). Aww he's so happy Xie Lian touched him, admiring his hand. It's so cute.

This is "I'm never washing this hand again" behavior.

(Why did that one guy who bumped into the dead person clothes lick his hand when he didn't know what he touched aldkjalda I just alkdjalj why alkdjalj)

Guzi's father is actually comforting him a little (usually he walks with his bound hands ahead of him, but in one shot he's got his hands resting on Guzi's head in what seems to be a comforting gesture)! That's sweet. And then he's maybe covering Guzi's eyes from the dead body ceiling? (Or maybe grabbing onto something in fear, I don't know). Dude may not be a great father but he's doing a little I suppose.

Hua Cheng burning the bodies cause it makes Xie Lian uncomfortable :3 Love he. (Also Xie Lian worrying about Mu Qing :3 And being grateful to Hua Cheng :3).

Xie Lian just... placing all the Trauma to the side cause he can't deal with it right now, it's In The Past TM. As he does. It's just how he's lived for 800 years. You know. (exqueeze me while I cry some more over this man)

THERE HE IS!!! THE TERRIBLE MAN alkdjaldkaj My beloved Qi Rong adlkjalj You're so awful, I love you.

I love all the little details of Qi Rong's design. Just all the bangles, the way he kind of looks like a mobster showing off, and his slightly unkempt hair. And he has green claws! Here's the full official poster of him if you'd like, though I think it's more fun to see him in the show. I still love his shoes, and his single glove with the cut off thumb is nice. Also you can't tell from the poster, but his long hair is braided and goes past his waist.

There's also like... something strangely cute about his interactions with his minions. They're all so protective of him. (Well, until they run away in fear of Hua Cheng roflmao)

Hehe Pei Xiu returns. He's not going to be bothered.

Xie Lian like, "haha yeah exile is very idle" alkdjaldkaj WE'RE SHELVING THE TRAUMA YEP

roflmao you can't tell in the subtitles, but if you listen to the voices, you can tell they're censoring what Qi Rong is saying about the heavenly officials XD (like you can hear the censor buzz sound to cut off what he's saying in Chinese lol) That is hilarious. I love that so much.

I don't think they needed to spend so much time with reused animation from previous episodes. I think a briefer flashback of Xuan Ji would have been better. But well... whatever. I know part of my impatience is that it's been so many years and we only get so many episodes and it's gonna be who knows how many years before we get the next season lol Like it's not a bad thing in terms of narrative (if I think still overly drawn out), I'm just like "yes, yes, I get it, now go back to new stuff".

I love that Hua Cheng catches the statue and gently places it on the ground. Even if he hates the statue and what it represents, he won't destroy an image of his gege, or treat it poorly.

I do appreciate Xie Lian's instinct to protect The Child TM, but like roflmao Xie Lian, his father is still human and like getting his body broken. You could also idk... save him...? Too...?

Just want to appreciate the animation here. Something about Qi Rong holding Hua Cheng's arm (and Hua Cheng holding his head). It's really nice.

The fight scene was really good! A bit slow, but I get it's the dramatic reveal of the "Xie Lian" clone with lipstick and green eyes! Is he a body snatcher? Is he a clone of Xie Lian?? Tune in next week to find out!!

The subs were mostly fine this episode. I'm still confused why they shorten "Immortal" to "Immor" but they did that on something else, so I guess they're at least consistent about the weirdness and the maybe edited machine translation.

Overall, very good ep. The chibis were cute! Angry Hua Cheng being magical and powerful was fun! My favorite terrible man is finally on the scene, can't wait to see how much more awful he is next episode! Hua Cheng's comeuppance with this will I guess be delayed until then lol I thought it'd be this week. But that's fine!

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

We only really have Laurence, Maria, Doll and Moon Presence because whereas Willem, Djura, Eileen and Ludwig are addressed there is so much to headcanon about them that it probably evades "in canon" category... :') I really love the depth and the sadness of both his bonds with Maria and Laurence, regardless of whether they're romantic or platonic. I am a little antsy that they've left some lines suggesting a much deeper bond with Laurence in cut content realm, but I am reusing everything I physically can, sooooo xD

There is also Paleblood Hunter which I love to think is sort of reincarnation of Laurence ( x ), but this one, again, either falls back into Laurence category or there isn't enough to develop during just one night.. 🤔 Final product suggests that Gehrman loves all hunters equally, including us, which is still sweet!

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to this character? Something you don't like?

Hahaha, tough luck, I only read fanfics from either 1) people that are unreachable and would never interact with the fandom or 2) people I trust deeply as friends! Reading fanfics became way too important emotional experience for me to mentally manage feeling rejected by the writer as a person. But in the AU where I am a normal person without such deep insecurities, I say everything regarding his story is good! Byrgenwerth era where he only starts picking interest in holy blood? Good. Early Healing Church? Good. His last days where he can't save himself anymore? Good. Whatever time of his life you take will be interesting, because HE is interesting! I definitely adore how Laurence is included in your fanfic, both his personality and his actions!

I do not know the state of Bloodborne fanfics well enough to judge, so I think my general turn-off applies; romantic/sexual fanfics that have such little character-specific or lore-specific context that if you detach the characters from the source material no one will notice! Good ship fanfic is the one that specifically applies to these characters, not just a random fantasy with their names attached! Easiest cheat with this problem is having characters reminiscise or address some prior events in canon, especially if they led to... uhhhh, the """interaction""", but really, there are various ways to bind them to the setting 🤔

25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?

YEEEEES YES GOOD QUESTION!!!! My first exposure to Bloodborne cast was getting recommended a compillation of boss themes with images attached on Youtube, so I just saw a BW image of his beast form without any context paired with his theme. For some reason I thought he was some wise, serious, dignified monster found (fought?) somewhere in library-like place, and that he could talk too!

I was yet to discover how feral this form of him really was, or that he even used to be a human to begin with! I thought this videogame just had monsters x) Now I am also aware how dirty his hands are, when I thought he was a morally grey character until [player] would disturb him for some reason. He is very complex and deep. Love him for that, but the guy is so heavy that memeing about him is easier dfshfhds But I was right on the money with 'dignified librarian dad' impression, after all! *spoon-feeds you my "Laurence is a son of Cainhurst librarian and quite a bookworm in general" speculation for 700th time*

^^^ This is also the closest I can get to my first mental image of his human form after I've learned he had one and was a scholar in Byrgenwerth! You can see dark hair and buttchin were always there, but he used to have green eyes and less facial hair... Also his glasses were exclusively for reading. And he was tall and less "cute". I agree the "handsome" beta Laurence is a bit better than my final product <:3 He feels more... laurence-y xD If I am to ever create something 'serious' for Bloodborne, like maybe a large comics, I might roll back to this image more, but for now it is all little kitten Laurence for me.

30 day GW2 Challenge

Which race was the first one you played with? Believe it or not, it was Charr. I just wanted to play something that was beastly and as grotesque looking as I could make her (and I loved that GW2 didn't make them soft and dainty like most other cowardly MMOs out there that brings me to a bloodthirsty rage). I completely forgot at the time that she actually had the same name as my OC (Mourynn)... I guess the name actually stuck with me since the beginning and that's kind of hilarious (once again a Necro in game, but I did delete her (Charr) and remade her into a Sylvari later on (the one I still have now! I did it instantaneously to reuse her name). Funny enough, I even wound up dressing my weird cat in Mordrem fashion before I even knew what the Mordrem were (it was my first outfit that I chose from one of those choice things, and again I was trying to make her into a gross monsterly mess, and it's also funny bc I apparently sort of followed my OCs colouring scheme). The 2nd race I played was actually Human, and I actually still do have her! (my only non-Sylvari lol) She's just my loot bag hoarder now (since she has the most bag space), so I send her all my goodie bags to open all at once when it reaches near capacity. I get all the fun seretonin from opening it all at once and seeing it all add up via the GW2 In-Session app. OH YEAH I EVEN FOUND BABY PICTURES!!! (I somehow retained old screencaps from 2019 of my weird cat. I thought I lost them between computers, but this must've happened after that lol). SHE'S ONLY 14 LEVELS OLD. A KITTEN!!!!!!

This was also the first instance I learned about there being actual lesbians in the game (that meant a lot to me, you have no idea how long I stared at this and proceeded with googling up more info), and between this part that got me lowkey obsessed with Caithe (upon learning about the Faolain thing, and then going deeper into the rabbit hole about Sylvari culture), as well as my unintentional Mordrem-ifying(?) of my weird cat, I was doomed to become a Sylvari lover in the end xD (also I used to main a Druid on WoW too in the ye olde ancient past, so I mean... it all checks out once you add it up lmao). My old Charr also looked hilarious when put up right beside Kasmeer and I thought it was ridiculous and had to add it here. So edgy, wow (meow?)

scythe-and-seed here: it’s been a LONG time omg. Hope you’re doing well :) I wanted to ask about removing items from your altar, if you or your followers have any experience with it? My altar stuff has been packed away in a box for the past two years (*lots* of unexpected moving combined with not having the space), and I ordered a little tea table and floor cushion online to finally set my stuff up again. My table got delivered yesterday and I was super excited to get everything out, but there are some things I’m thinking of tossing. I’m a different person two years later, and some of the items don’t resonate with me anymore, or some of them broke/faded. I’m trying to combat the guilt surrounding tossing these items.

I remove items from my altar all the time! Actually getting ready to redo my altar sometime today or tomorrow lol! I see my altar as MY space. Yes, I have my gods on there was well but ultimately the space is a reflection of me, what i'm working on, what I want to remember/focus on, and what I believe is important. For the most part, all those things are going to change at some point (especially if you're a moody Cancerian like me! XD). So to me there's absolutely nothing wrong with removing items from your altar that no longer serve you. You always need room to grow, change, and explore.

Often times I hold onto the items that are no longer on my altar because I either reuse them for something else or they may find their way back on my altar at a different point in time. Other ideas is to give away the items, donate, or sell them. I think giving the items another chance to serve someone else especially if that someone else is a pagan/witch can help ease the guilt.

If it also helps you can do the Marie Kondo method of thanking your items for assisting you on your spiritual journey before you remove them completely.

Whatever you decide to do with the items just know its 100% okay to remove whatever you wish from your altar at any time! I think its important for us to claim complete ownership of our altars. Its ultimately there to assist us in whatever we assign to it. And I believe we give and receive more powerful energy when we remember that.

Avatar - The Next Shadow

Let's just dust this drawer and take back my obsession of thirteen years back.

I saw Avatar The Way of Water, and of course, I have to consume every piece of media available. So here are my summary, impressions, and comments on Avatar The Next Shadow

..... Spoilers ahead .....

OMG! This has a strong beginning. 

The story begins 14 days after the first movie. Jake is dealing with the fact that his human form died. I absolutely loved his internal struggle. We tend to forget how bizarre this “passing through the eye of Eywa” can be. 

At the same time, he is dealing with a broken clan, and a broken human base, with different interests, but the same goal of survival.

They reused a character introduced in Tsu’tey’s Path, Ka’ani, and I loved him here. Seeing him grow from an incompetent hunter in training under Tsu’tey wing to the loyal warrior next to Jakesully is beautiful. 

I also liked Katherine Hale (even if her part was short), we need more good humans. 

What was a surprise here was Arvok, in Tsu’tey’s Path, Tsu’tey mentioned Arvok is just a child. And it’s implied he hasn’t bond with a direhorse yet, however, here, the first time we see him (like 3 months and 14 days after Tsu’tey called him a child) he is a warrior, he is using a cummerbund, implying he has been through the Dream Hunt. Details like this make you wonder how much thought and research are put in this comics. 

Anyway, Arvok, is a pure soul and needs protection away from his parents, like seriously, this duo Artsut (mom) and  Ateyo (dad) are shady as hell, no to mention they are terrible parents! How Tsu’tey became so noble? (Yes, he was at the beginning cautious about Jakesully, the alien, but after Jake proved his value, he was so loyal to him.) I guess it is because he was constantly under the ward of Eytukan and Mo’at. 

I was so sad when Arvok accepted to walk the path his parents set for him. All Tsu’tey effors to protect him where in vain. Also, I didn’t understand why he killed a Ikran, just for the blood? and he wasted the rest, this do not align with the Na’vi ways, or maybe it was HIS ikran? Like he is renouncing what he was before?

A parenthesis here just to tell how much I love Norm for refusing to “blow off some steam” by shooting idiotically at the machinery. I mean, he was just 14 days ago in a big kind of life and death situation between open fire. He understands guns are not to play around with. 

And back again with Tsu’tey’s terrible parents and a pain in the ass for Jake. He is around trying to do his best, helping in the healing of the CHILDREN affected by the war, feeling the consequence of his decisions, and here comes Artsut to screw him up. How hypocritical of her to say they don’t follow Eywa when she is the one who has plotted to kill the Olo'eyktan - ditching tradition (he was pointed leader by Tsu’tey, the former Olo’eyktan) and Eywa’s will (Eywa has saved Jake so many times, hasn't she seen the signs? NO!). She is full of jealousy toward Mo’at, maybe she is grieving the death of a son, but above all, I think she is power-hungry. She wants his mate to be Olo’eyktan, not his younger son, so she can be Tsahik. 

I loved Mo’at here for stand up for his son-in-law (when he is clearly clueless XD)

And cocky Jake Sully in his full glory is back, and I love it. He is struggling with this leadership thing, but one good fight, THAT he can do. It’s also good he has Norm and Ka’ani to keep him focused on the important. 

Of course Jake wins (and he mentions his marine background, I love it when people remember it because that’s so Jake, that part of his human side is so engraved in his DNA), and he is so chill that the worst punishment for the kid that he can come with is trash duty. Come on! How can you not love Jake Sully!

In a tantrum and last resource to not disappoint his parents, Arvok throws the dagger, that happens to be poisoned by his parents who did not tell him. Artsut declares Ateyo the new Olo’eyktan, and chaos and confusion breaks loose among the clan. Arvok is thrown under the bus by his parents, blaming him for Jake’s death, so he runs away. Meanwhile Artsut wants to condemn Mo’at for leading the clan to their doom.

Ka’ani interferes, he is the voice of reason and speaks about traditions, but guess what? Now Artsut (when best fit her) says traditions are not laws… but then Jake is breathing! He is not dead, something in his human DNA saves him from Artsut’s poison. So Ka’ami makes a clear stand: meanwhile Jake is still alive, Jake is still Olo’eyktan, and he will protect him. 

They need to plug in Jake to Eywa, but Artsut opposes saying the poison will infect everything around it (of course she will know, she brewed it!), and she dares Jake and his supporter that if he is really the chosen one by Eywa, he will save himself. 

Now, it happens that Mo’at knows an antidote, but the main ingredient is located in a sacred cave where no adult Na’vi (because of their size) or children (because of the danger) can enter. So they call the humans and Katherine Hale. Artsut loses when the human crew enters the Tree of Souls (you know, that sacred place no outsides were allowed? LOL) and it’s just so funny to watch this awful woman and her husband lose. 

Ka’ani acts as deputy Olo'eyktan sending everyone home, Ateyo opposes his orders, but Ka’ani put him in his place. He is SO done with the Rongloa family’s shit. 

Artsut finds Arvok and tries to manipulate him to trust her again, but he finally sees beyond that and defends himself. He prefers to live in exile than return with her. Now, Artsut implies heavily that no Na’vi can’t survive alone (I think it’s an interesting statement for future plots in the movies, maybe?), and she mentions a clan in the ashes   (like, hello! Movie 3!) that will not judge him, and accept him even with his “crimes”.

Meanwhile, Jake is dreaming vividly, and Eywa reaches her branches to protect him (by the way, he doesn't poison anything around him, so Artsut was wrong).

Guilt for his silence about the RDA’s plan is burning within him. We see him admit to himself he was selfish, he wanted a functional body (even if it wasn’t his, it was Tommy’s avatar in the first place), he wanted a life with Neytiri, and Tsu’tey’s place (I think he means be Neytiri’s mate and be a praised warrior, not literally being Tsu’tey himself). Now there are people, his people, who are paying for his silence, for his decisions. He doesn’t feel worthy to be their leader, he've been gnawed by guilt. He thinks he deserved to die by Quarith’s hand. He feels so defeated, so human, corrupted, and a poison to the Na’vi.

Then Eytukan and Tsu’tey come to his rescue. They literally help him to stand up, and after a heart-to-heart conversation, they help him to accept his worth; what he has won for himself, and that it was not taken; to accept himself as one of the Na'vi people, to see around and see the people who love him.

And it’s beautiful, and I promise you I'm not crying. ;_;

We see a little bit more of Tsu’tey and Jake bonding, and how pure Tsu’tey’s soul is. He believes there is no malice in his parents (protect him Eywa!) and although he knows repercussions have to be made, he reminds Jake that there can also be mercy. 

They say their goodbyes and then Jake wakes up in the iconic close-up of his eyes. (I need this sequence on the big screen, or in an animated series, in something!, bring back Tsu’tey!)

With Olo'eyktan safe and sound, the Omaticaya try to bring the Rongloa family (they have found Arvok at this point) to justice and Jake honoring Tsu’tey’s memory tries to act with mercy, but Artsut spits the word “Demon” when addressing to Jake. Arvok states the obvious and exiles himself and his family. 

Jakes humbly asks the Omaticaya clan to trust him and teach him. They accept his leadership.

On the other hand, in exile, Artsut thinks the Mangkwan Clan will receive them (I wonder if this is the Ash clan?), but Arvok rejects to follow his parent’s path again and decides to leave on his own. (Good for him!) 

Finally, Jakes finds himself under the tree that he was at the beginning, he makes peace with his dead human body, and he embraces his full Na'vi identity.

Wow! What a ride! and I liked it! 

At first, I thought Artsut's behavior was so against the Na’vi ways, but now, knowing by James Cameron himself that in Avatar3 we’re going to see the bad side of the Na’vi in the Ash Clan, I think it makes sense. Also, I think they are trying to put the seed for the future plot.

I liked to dislike Artsut. I would like to see her and Arvok again in future comics. 

Finally, but not least important, I absolutely loved Jake's journey here.

I'm in my buck era I guess because, I'm confused. I'm reading this post and I'm nodding along because yes! fucking yes to everything said here. But I still love the idea that eddie needs to choose and buck to be chosen, expect from everyone's tags, I'm getting y'all are interpreting the opposite and I'm trying to understand where the disconnect is happening in my brain. Bare with me I'm processing live. (or don't lol I'm gonna put a readmore for easy ignorability xD)

just scratched a whole paragraph because really, what I think is that they already did the choosing/chosen thing, and I want to see them realize that.

eddie has been choosing buck. he has chosen him again and again, but he's still trying to make it work with other people. he's still operating on what he should want, and not what he really want for himself. so when I think eddie needs to choose, it doesn't imply any actions towards buck really, it's more about his own mindset and accepting why he keeps choosing buck, and why his relationship with buck works where other ones doesn't.

buck still doesn't feel chosen. I want to see him realize how much loved he is, by everyone really because if he's capable of feeling (wrongly) left out by eddie, then what is he thinking about everyone else in their chosen family? (sidenote, the irony that it's eddie who says they're the family we chose, anyway.) buck being chosen doesn't work if he's passive. he needs to stop getting into relationships without really knowing how. he needs to stop confusing being tolerated or accepted with being actively and wholly chosen. I want to see him deliberately take a step forward in eddie's direction. he's so close, they're so close, just one step, on step into the light so he can see.

eddie has been choosing buck already, let him be chosen now. buck needs to let himself feel chosen, to have the self-esteem to have agency over his life.

so yeah, turns out I've been agreeing with buck needs to choose and eddie needs to be chosen. the disconnect in my brain was because of time. eddie choosing/buck chosen, works for me as a general idea based on who they are and their respective life experiences, but when I look at where they are now specifically, it's the opposite

to reuse op's analogy: buck was able to break down the bedroom door because eddie already gave him the keys to his house. I want them getting together to be like that.

pushing back hard against the idea that eddie should be the one to indicate to buck that they could be something. ummmmm no actually buck doesn’t need to just have another moment where he falls into something because he didn’t realize it was an option or he didn’t know he could want it until it was right in front of him. buck needs to be decisive and he needs to go in with his eyes wide open and he’s in a position to do so because eddie already sat him down and said because, evan. and maybe eddie deserves to have what he wants without feeling like he could lose what’s most important to him at any moment. buck and eddie are special because buck broke down eddie’s door once already. he should do it again. then eddie can invite him in.

I am not immune to spooky time Shadowtwos lmao, here's my edgy daughter.

So this shadowtwo exists because my Sona mewtwo had a corrupted mewtwo mega stone in her chest that had trace elements of synergy crystal. Because of the synergy stuff when implanted in other growing fusion mewtwos it ended up killing them as the mewtwo immune system fought back weakening the developing two till they unfortunately perished. However sona mewtwo was accidentally forgotten when the genetic fusion stuff was happening making them not a fusion and they had a considerably weaker immune system to begin with because of that and the scientists were kinda like well we don't actually want that one we can speed up the process of getting rid of her to reuse her tank. Because of the weak immune system the synergy crystal was able to harmonise and exist inside her without any issue and due to being in there dormant such a long time it became attached to her its own elemental structure shifting to only be capable of latching onto her in a sense. So in a way as it grew to alter her eventually being inside of her chest also altered the synergy making it unable to have another host and different to standard synergy.

The synergy energy began to manifest itself as a kind of voice in the back of the sonas head, essentially a harsh critical inner dialogue trying to slowly break her down so it could fully take over her mind and body possession. It's much more alive than normal synergy since it's altered it has its own higher wants not just of more power but it starts to want its own body. And so when they successfully take control they go about cloning a husk body of the sona with no soul or higher consciousness to place themselves inside of, they destroyed any inferior bodies to make the perfect powerful one as the sonas natural stats are, not great and they know their body is weak. Once a suitable body is achieved and grown they grafted extra synergy crystals that they'd been growing onto the body hence how extra their form is to enhance their power and make them less fragile looking, using robotic limbs when finally complete to cut open the chest of the mewtwosona to extract the synergy crystal mewtwo megastone that had gone from a smooth marble with synergy crystal streak inside to a spiked ball of synergy encasing the megastone, putting it into the husk body to transfer their consciousness into their own body.

So they now exist on their own in their own body for evilling rather than puppeting the sonas body, of course due to extended exposure to the sona they are now themselves altered as much as they pretend they're like any other Shadow pokemon they have the ability of more complex emotions outside of the negative hate and want for power and greed. Really this was evident by wanting her own body rather than just the sonas and as well after the transfer both bodies were stitched closed and put in tanks for recovery, she could've simply allowed the sona to die after getting what she wanted but intentionally programmed it the machine to incubate them both. She'd also have used teleport to drop her back home when healed. She pretends but she's different she's just as corrupted by humanity in a sense as the sona was corrupted by the darkness.

Timeline (58nwt) 🚧 wip

year 2258 - The debate takes place on what to do with Helena Redford after she brought before the Admirals a number of materials and the evidence arguing the ineffectiveness of Section 31 and bluntly naming names, and pointing fingers. Some call to her punishment but Albert Hughes insists that the woman has done useful work, wanted to resign and disappear out of sight anyway, so why not let her? Plus, perhaps, Helena's silence too should be conveniently bought in this ready manner. He makes a good point. However, then Admiral Rue Beckett steps in. Her offer is drastically different: that Hel remains and works it off even more. Admiral Beckett argues better.

This leads to the decision to keep Helena in Starfleet for a sentence of at least five years. She is demoted from a Lieutenant Commander to the rank of Lieutenant. Some demanded a greater demotion but when Hel very cheerfully declared: great, I could use a vacation - that changed their minds.

Hel's relationship with Admiral Beckett deteriorates even if the respect for her on Helena's side technically grows. For a while, Lieutenant Redford is placed under supervision and she is running more of an assistant role to Albert Hughes, travelling alongside him wherever he goes as he introduces the woman to the intricacies of intelligence and security that he knows, shaking a few hands politically here and there as well.

year 2259 - 2261 Lieutenant Helena Redford works her ass off. Upon Albert's suggestion, the more results she brings in, the more he'll whisper to certain people that she has payed her dues.

She is assigned to a serve on a starship and even though Helena strongly dislikes to be put in a box, it is a decent possibility to cut her sentence short, make like a tree and get out of there...

There are various rumours going on about her. Either she did something great or horrible. Or both. Several members of Starfleet want to work with her specifically, meanwhile others openly despise. All of this only amuses the woman, but gives her little incentive to remain there where she is neither needed nor wanted.

in the year 2261 Admiral Rue Beckett dies in an unfortunate shuttle accident while vacationing on Risa. Helena's sentence is cut short at Albert Hughes's suggestion and she finally resigns from Starfleet.

After this, on her way to Risa Helena is approached by a mysterious cloaked alien, calling himself Vvin of the Doonnarh from the planet GxXun. He makes her an offer she can't refuse.

year 2261 - We go back to the future...

OH BOY I GET TO RAMBLE ABOUT THIS AGAIN

Okay so. If you've been around Pokémon you've probably noticed some inconsistencies in colors. Bulbasaur line being blue vs green, XY washing out a bunch of colors, etc.

But here's the thing.

XY didn't start this.

It actually started with Ken Sugimori and co's key art in RS and later, which for a while used much more pastel colors than the artwork that came before (yes, even if you look at proper scans). XY was the first game to have major widespread adoption of these colors even under the color profile of a typical monitor, so it gets most of the flak.

Meanwhile, in gens 3~7, the anime and spinoffs were mostly off doing their own thing still, making up (more often than not) their own palettes, either derived from game sprites out of context (on a GBA, RS sprites are far closer to Ken's art) or just adding a bit more color semi-arbitrarily.

As an aside, for gen 1 and 2 mon, the colors seen in the anime and Stadium are largely based on the original artwork, which persisted into gen 3 via Colosseum and XD reusing Stadium assets, and PBR sometimes doing likewise.

Gens 4 and 5 are where things get wild.

Gen 4 was a pretty good time for Pokémon spinoffs. PBR, Rumble, and PokéPark all happened in gen 4, and they all mostly if not completely use what I call spinoff colors. (PBR recycled some models from Stadium, and Rumble grandfathered some of them palette-wise, but PokéPark was 100% spinoff palettes.)

And this built up to a brand new source of Pokémon artwork in gen 5: the Pokémon Global Link.

PGL art is in a sparsely shaded vector style, which already makes colors more easily eyedroppable, but what really made waves for me is that the colors it used were completely different and, often, much more saturated than Ken's artwork. And, wouldn't you know it, PGL art trends very close to the colors seen in gen 4 spinoffs.

Gen 5 saw more spinoffs adopt these colors, too. PokéPark got a sequel, PMD's jump to 3D with Gates to Infinity adopted these colors, and the glorified model viewer Pokédex 3D Pro used these colors too.

I don't have a timeline on this, but most merch I've seen also uses spinoff colors, though as OP notes that is starting to change. I bring this up because of what happens, or rather doesn't happen, one gen later.

(Personal bias disclaimer: P3D and PGL art were my first exposure to how most Pokémon look, so I'm more used to that. Sugi feels unnatural to me.)

Pokémon XY threw a wrench in what looked like a march toward spinoff colors becoming the new norm. Its models are near-universally eyedropped from RS-onward key art, causing gen 1 and 3 mon in particular to look overly washed out. And yet, the gen 6 edition of Pokémon Global Link uses spinoff-like palettes, gen 6 merch continues to use spinoff palettes, and Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon was another in-game usage of such.

So at this point, Pokémon mostly has two major sets of palettes: the palettes seen in key art and gen 6+ mainline, and the colors seen in spinoffs, anime, merch, and generally everything not mainline.

This duality of color remains mostly stable through gens 6 and 7, but gen 8 both helped and hurt this a lot. Good news: Pokémon Home, gen 8+'s cloud storage app, uses models retextured with spinoff palettes. Bad news: Home doesn't completely use that. At launch, only a small amount of gen 1 mon instead used their mainline colors, but in the 1.1 update this was expanded to affect many more mon across multiple gens (but still mostly gen 1).

To bring this full circle, one mon affected by the 1.1 update was Espeon. As far back as its GS art, it was drawn as purple with dark gray ears, but the HGSS key art changed this to pink with blue ears, which because of various factors about palette trends took several more gens to start majorly affecting merch and non-mainline appearances.
