this is me being me but thinking about how do you think bramblestar would notice if his kit got taken like coraline or something?
like. im imagining dandelion finding a portal to another world where bramble is actually a good dad, even if its just an act, and im thinking about what would happen if the cat stayed in the other world
sorry if this is incoherent ;-;
(Is this the part where I admit I've never seen that movie? I know what happens because cultural osmosis though! Also do not apologize I LOVE "what if" style AUs and hypothetical questions. Makes work go faster.)
With Sparkpelt, he's gonna give her a minute. She's her mothers daughter, for all he knows she could be out saving the world, or on a camping trip. After a days or 2, now he's worried. While she is strong enough to survive, what if she is ambushed? What if she gets sick? Why didn't she say anything?
And Alder... Well, he does leave. During TBC, he's decided that enough is enough. He is miserable, and his relationships with his sisters have fractured. He leaves to live with Velvet once he is exiled. Bramble is understandably upset, anyone would be. Jayfeather reassures him that his son is safe and happy, and is doing what is right for him. It's hard to accept, especially since Alderheart left while it wasn't known what was wrong.
Dandeliontuft though... I'm glad you mentioned her.
She WOULD be the one who enters that door, on a quiet stroll. She could possibly accept it too. I've got a lot of thoughts about this girl. Namely, something kind of like this does happen.
In TBC, while possessed, one of Bramblefake's tells is the most subtly depressing things... He starts paying more attention to her. Dandy has to make the sadistic choice... Report to the Thunder Rebellion, as she knows it's definitely suspicious behavior, or... Get to finally enjoy having a father who's gonna dote on her a little. She deserves a dad who didn't spend the entirety of her childhood refusing to.look her in the eyes, too scared to see his own mother looking back at him.
(Thankfully, Shrewfeather is a great step dad.)
As for her leaving, I know it would be one of those events that finally makes a person MAYBE reevaluate their behavior. He'd definitely organize a search party for her, he would be upset. He realizes he has lost his last living link to his mother. Dandy meanwhile is enjoying life in her own little world where everybody is happy! Sure it's probably a lotus eating machine, but to her, it's nice.
It's quiet, just like her.

Writers of Tumblr, listen up! This has probably been said before but I'mma say it again:
Do you feel like you're procrastinating on your current fic by writing down another one because an idea struck you at 2am? No you're not.
Do you feel like you're procrastinating on your current fic because you've been doing school/uni/job work? No you're not, that stuff is more important than how many socks Deku wears on any given day.
Do you feel like you've been procrastinating on your current fic because you just haven't had the energy and all you want to do is binge YouTube videos and eat ice cream? No, you're not, take care of yourself!
Are you down because you've got three WIPs open and can't think of how to fit some scenes together? Don't bother, just keep writing the fun and interesting scenes.
If writing is a fun hobby for you, don't make your fun hobby into a chore.
If writing is your job, don't turn your job into a chore.
We as humans work better when we're enjoying what we're doing - just think back to when you were in school: what lessons do you remember the most of and which ones did you enjoy?
As Star Trek keeps telling us: time isn't linear, it's relative. So why do we have to write things in linear order? No one ever really told us to do that, school systems just assumed it. They said "write a beginning, middle and end, in that order" because it was the easiest and most streamlined approach.
But this is your fic or your book or your assignment, you don't have to write it that way. Write it in the way that the ideas come.
If the opening is hard, write the big fight at the climax. If the connection is eluding you, write the scenes it's supposed to connect between and see what happens. You'll get there, I believe in you <3
At the end of the day, please enjoy writing! Enjoy reading too! If you have kids or know kids, encourage them to read! Little kids especially have a tendency to copy what older people do, so show them books you love.
Don't feel bad because you haven't updated a fic in months. You've been letting the ideas cook and they just have a really long cooking time. Re-read some stuff and maybe some ideas will come up. Listen to music, watch your shows and films, read other books and fics. Go for a walk, even - you can get inspiration from anything.
WIP owners: I believe in you. You can do this! They might sit there and taunt you, or beg to be finished, but if you can't do it right now then you can't do it right now and you should take a break. Save it, close it, do something else. Come back to it when you're ready.

I saw a rant about how the back and forth between Fyodor and Dazai is ridiculous at this point and like. I think that’s the point. The point is that one is not actually superior to the other in regards to intellect so they are ALWAYS going to be stuck in this cycle of ‘well I thought of/planned/predicted that!’.
The difference is in their connections and what those connections are made of. I find it fascinating actually that Fyodor thinks he’s won because he STOLE gravity away from Dazai and claimed Dazai didn’t even know how to use it when he had it! The thing is though, Chuuya doesn’t seem to be under Fyodor’s control anymore and he hasn’t ever chosen the people who try to use him like an object over Dazai. And despite the four years of separation (which was longer than their time together) he always came when Dazai expected him to.
And I’m thinking he expects him to now which would ultimately be what tips the scale in Dazai’s favor. Because where Fyodor sees a tool Dazai sees his partner. I’m also thinking Chuuya isn’t the only key to success here and that was why he chose Sigma too (if the points where he thinks about the ADA not using each other is any sort of foreshadowing).
