König in this fic is a bit of a nympho. There's just no denying it. This man gets high on killing and he gets high on sex...

...which is why he hasn't been exactly what one would call a chaste, proper gentleman, and why he has some experience. Because even with that crazy pervy attitude there's always people who want to bang this giant (not side-eyeing anyone here in this room or myself in the mirror or anything like that).

So yes, this man has tried to get pussy since day one, and because he is what he is, hasn't gotten but a crumb or two (just imagine the growing fury and bitterness of this man, who looks like a god but is a demon inside, when he doesn't get what he needs 🙄). This poor lunatic has done his all to get anything he can ‐ which is close to nothing but just enough to bless him with the knowledge of the location of clitoris. Now this sounds pretty desperate, right? It is. I mean, this guy probably has a sex toy or two in his room (probably takes a portable fleshlight on longer missions too, JFC) because he's just never satisfied and women generally avoid him like the plague.

But when it comes to reader... Let's start by saying that König has never stalked anyone like that (lmao what a compliment!). Also he is true to his word in that he has never stolen another lady's underwear before. He's just that crazy about the reader. He tries his all to be more civil so he doesn't blow it with her, while at the same time, he's losing his fucking mind (so innocent and sweet and looking at him and his pretty knives like that?? He simply can't handle that shit).

Also the inherent and learned sexism in this man makes him think women shouldn't go to war because it's not *proper* and he would never even think of gifting a weapon to a lady, let alone one of his precious knives. Even showing his collection is too much – it's equal to baring his soul to someone.

But reader? She gets multiple invites to his crazy man cave full of weapons. Also, taking her to the range, letting her play with his big guns is not only a super special treat but also a sign of König being head.over.heels. for her.

Without knowing it, König has always searched for that special someone to be crazy with. And reader is the first to elicit any real feelings in him, tbh. That's a huge deal. Like he said in the end, he would do anything for her. Also instead of a fleshlight he now carries reader's panties in his pocket on missions. Calls them his lucky charm, too.

And sex with reader gains almost a spiritual level as we see at the end of chapter 4. It's not just sex anymore. Aftercare and cuddles are something this man has pretty much avoided, has been a bit 'meh' about, but with reader it all comes naturally because he wants to take care of her. He can't keep his paws off because she's so adorable and squishable.

And the reason why he tried to leave reader alone after days of trying to woo her back? Not because he dropped her like a toy that's not working anymore, but because he actually respected and loved her so much he didn't want to hurt her. (Also I'm staying with my hc that König is someone who tells a person he loves them after they've known each other for like two weeks. Cringe, but cute.)

I don't know if this cured any jealousy or made it worse 🥲 but trust me when I say reader is incredibly special 💘

• Bryce's mum is really cute and it's kind of nice to see a story where the heroine isn't a starving orphan, sorry not sorry 🤷‍♀️

• Hunt's mum however 😭😭 that's so sad? And why do I feel like we're going to circle back at some point to that comment about not knowing who his dad is 👀 Is it someone important? It's someone important, isn't it?

• I also find it kind of hilarious that so many people rag on Violet in Fourth Wing, but Hunt Athalar is just as fucking bad. The boy is thirsty af, does he ever think about anything else??

• I also like that Bryce's depression and survivor's guilt is sticking around and not just being used as a plot device, like a lot of books usually do. It's nice. For me, not for her, lol.

That seems like an SJM special and I was waiting for it, prepared to roll my eyes.

• "I'm not making it ... Because it got too hard. Without you. It is too hard without you." I love Bryce so much. I felt her more than most other characters SJM's ever written. I feel like the way her depression and trauma showed through in little glimpses was something I'd been hoping for out of other characters in her work and never gotten and I'm glad she decided to tackle it properly this time around.

I can also see her getting along really well with Remi, so there, that's my answer now for everyone who kept saying Remi and Aelin would be friends. I can't see that, but I can see Remi and Bryce. And maybe Remi, Bryce, and Nesta being a dangerous trio 😅

Yes, and...

On one of these posts, I actually counted how many times Ozai interacts with Azula on the show, and in what capacity.

Five. He interacts with her five times.

1. At the end of Book 1, when he sends her to hunt down Iroh and Zuko.

2. In "Zuko Alone," when he parades her in front of Azulon.

3. (Off screen) When she gives Zuko credit for killing the Avatar.

4. At the war meeting when he agrees with her saying, "I think we should take their hope and their land and burn it all to the ground."

5. When he scolds and tosses her the title of Fire Lord during Sozin's Comet.

So, whenever he pays attention to her, she's making herself useful or kissing up to him. Otherwise, he barely acknowledges she exists and gets irritated when she demands even a minimal amount of attention or acknowledgement. And if he does give her a scrap of attention, it's to manipulate her into making herself useful to him. Again.

Which is why I get frustrated with fandom imposing the Golden Child label onto her. Let me be very clear: Ozai treats Azula like shit. He hasn't burned her face in public (yet), but that just means the bar is buried six feet underground. The show couldn't get more blatant that Azula having Ozai's favor simply means that she hasn't pissed him off yet. He doesn't care about her; he's just using her. Worse, he's using her up.

For all the takes people have that Ozai heaps praise upon Azula, none of that is evident on the show. There's one comment by Zuko (who's such a reliable narrator when it comes to Azula 🙄) about Azula being adored by everyone and Ozai saying that Azula was born lucky. But the show portrays Ozai using his own child like a chess piece for his own personal ambitions.

So there is something odd about the perception that Azula gets showered with all this positive attention from her family and peers when she has to be perfect at everything to get the tiny bit of validation she does.

The Family Portrait

Every time I watch The Beach episode and it gets to the part where Zuko burns the family portrait, I always think about how Azula felt when he does that.

We see Zuko's facial expression as this is going on, which is anger

Although he was pretty much angry about everything at this point, so it may not have had anything to do with burning the photo at all. But what about Azula? How did she feel about this? We know that the family beach house holds painful memories for her too, as shown when she immediately knew where to find Zuko after the party.

She sees that being there is bringing Zuko down, so she tells him to come down to the beach with her, and then she turns around and begins walking away while saying "this place is depressing". Which means that, much like Zuko, she has feelings about that place too. But as per usual, the writers just made everything that had to do with their family about Zuko, instead of the both of them. That was Azula's family too, not just Zuko's. Really wish that we got scenes of what Azula thought about these things.

What in the ever loving fuck did I just read? 😳😳

"She has never faced any punishment" although yeah she was confined to the compound and of course they mention that the place is a 5-star hotel so illegal house arrest for saving a bunch of people in Lagos is fine but wait, the best part is when it comes to the Raft they say it's a prison and she deserved to be there. She deserved this?

So they're saying that if you pick the right "criminal" then putting a straight jacket and a collar on them is fine? Wow. Also, funny how they claim she had never face any punishment until the times she did but that wasn't enough for this user. What did they want then? Blood? Rape? Maiming perhaps? WTF is wrong with these people.

They blame her for joining Ultron because he was a terrible genocidal AI but funny that they fail to mention who made him. They also say they wanted Wanda to pay for siding with him but oddly enough they don't mention any punishment for Stark, you know, the guy who single-handedly chose to go behind the team's back to make that android because he knew the team would be against it?

They claim Wanda only turned against Ultron when she realized he was coming for Sokovia when the actual dialogue in the movie is:

Wanda: "You said we would destroy the Avengers, make a better world." Ultron: "It will be better." Wanda: "When everyone is dead?"

Hm, turns out it's the exact opposite.

They claim Wanda refusing to kill Vision in IW means she's a villain (she was refusing to kill the man she loves, oh what a terrible woman she is 🙄) but I gotta say my favourite line is this one: "oh yes, it sucks that her parents died and it sucks that Pietro died but as Rocket once said 'you think you're the only one who lost people?'"

So let me get this straight: someone who is trying (and failing) to use armchair morality to condemn and label a character a villain, has the fucking audacity to be condescending when talking about the deaths of her loved ones? How about we use that same thing with other characters?

Oh yes, it sucks that Stark's parents died but who hasn't lost people? It sucks that Thor's entire family is dead but everyone has lost someone.

Also, Rocket saying that is framed as a terrible and hurtful thing, he's chastised by Groot and he knows he has fucked up when he's said that. To use that line as a gotcha! moment to invalidate Wanda's grief just makes you a fucking jerk.

I think the worst part of DSMOM discourse, as a Wanda fan, is the revisionist history some fans are doing to make her turn to villainy make sense. 🙄 This is typically done by trying to frame her actions as a hero with the most negative slant they can come up with. 🤐

Yeah I feel you, I hate it too. The worst example of this is Lagos imo, they act like she wanted to kill the people in that building even though it's quite obvious she was struggling to contain her power, and what of the people she saved in the street? They never mention that. (Also, as an aside it pisses me off how easily Crossbones gets away with what he did)

And MoM just made everything worse by having her corruption happen off-screen, a lot of her haters now love to claim she had always been a villain which is kind of surprising to me, I thought a great deal of fans loved the morally grey ones? Aren't those supposed to be most famous and well-liked characters of them all?

That's what Wanda is. She has done good and bad, that's her appeal. She has never acted like she's the bestest girl in the universe and many times before the framing has been against her or we've had other characters seeing her in pain and they have done nothing to help her.

I suppose it comes to prove that Waldron did in fact ruin her, that the fans have to engage in history revisionism to explain and justify her being completely ooc in the movie.
