I still…
… Think the 2004 Thunderbirds movie, and this is as a person who knows nothing about the original material and isn't actually that interested, is strongest w/ the family stuff.
And maybe it's just the chemistry the cast developed, but genuinely the best parts of the movie are the bits focusing on the family and their relationships and how it's part of their work/effects it.
Stuff like how there's a marked difference between the conduct in the mission in the opening, and when they emergency rush to 5. In the opening, they're professional but still quipping at each other, even the dad, and just generally more confidant and upbeat. When heading to 5, however, there's no quips, no joking, no ribbing. Bc the stakes are different—that's their brother and son in there. Both situations are obviously equally important, but there's a different emotional weight, and no one says it, but it's noticeable in the way they behave and how quickly they respond.
I think what cost the film was not playing more into the emotional family angle. It's there, I've said before, there's several bits where the young man playing Alan is quite heartbreaking as a terrified kid whose family is in mortal peril, but I just… Want… More? And not just bc I wanted to see more of John (okay, that's part of it).
I love the plan of not just creating a 'disaster' for them to respond to, but specifically and intentionally putting a member of the family in danger. Instead of starting another fire elsewhere in the world to lure them out, they attack John. Like, that's brilliant! I wish that was the focus more.

Can you do the Moon Boys with a reader who has a massive amount of knowledge about true crime and how various criminals often behave and common MOs of killers. I'm a criminal psychology major who's working to be a criminal profiler, so I tend to have a lot of knowledge like this. But people always find it weird that I know all these things and joke about why i might know all of these things.
I think it would be interesting to hear your take on how Marc, Steven, and Jake would react towards a partner who's basically a true crime and criminal psych encyclopedia. Maybe having someone like that helps them hunt down bad guys better.
Ooo this is such an interesting idea!

Steven Grant
Thinks it’s super interesting. I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again - Steven loves listening to people who are passionate about a subject, doesn’t matter what that subject is. If you’re interested in it, he’s interested.
Definitely will ask your opinion about Ancient Egyptian murders.
Asks you to teach him some of your expertise so that he can help him figure out some of the drives/mindsets of the people Khonshu sends them after.
Makes a whole space in the shelves in the flat for you to store papers and books.
Will watch true crime shows with you if you want and complain with you about any inaccuracy.
Marc Spector
Playfully calls you morbid.
But listens to true crime podcasts all the time, doesn’t tell Steven or Jake about it, but finds some of them quite soothing for some reason. He doesn’t want to think about why in too much detail, but he’s pretty sure it’s to do with hearing how awful some people truly have been and that what he’s done under the direction of Khonshu (basically getting rid of these people) isn’t the worst thing in the world.
Doesn’t want you to help them on anything Moon Knight related, “that’s what he’s for.” *Gestures vaguely in Khonshu’s direction*.
Khonshu calls your work, “Interesting.” And Marc nearly throws hands.
Steven fronts only to tell Khonshu that he will find a banishing spell for the flat so that the god can’t step foot in there if he keeps this behaviour up.
Jake Lockley
Basically gets you to do criminal profiles for him. But doesn’t like for you to be out in the action if you have no training.
(Even if you do have training he’s a bit unenthusiastic. “I have the suit, amor, yes? Why don’t you get a suit from another god and then we’ll talk.” Marc: “Do NOT do that.” Jake (100% teasing): “They could be Ra’s, then we’d have a sun and moon thing going on.” Marc is about to burst a blood vessel.)
Ask you to analyse horror movie characters for him. Is very serious when you ask and utterly delighted when you do.
Threatens Khonshu very quietly if he brings you up when Marc and Steven aren’t around.
Has a bit of a thing for you explaining things to him and has to fight with himself not to jump your bones most of the time.

For your dirty feral mind.
One of my greatest talents, at least for what I have been told, is...
Sex Analyse
And I'm going to do the sex analysis/headcanon of Logan and Wade. For all minors around here: DON'T INTERACT AND LEAVE THE FUCK OUT OF MY YARD.
Tumblr media
Our favorite old man: James "Logan" Howlett
I don't strangely see Logan having a huge interest in sex (at least this version in the movie) maybe it's my Ace ass that is talking but let go threw it, shall we.
Logan isn't into sex, not anymore, after what happened to the X-MEN the only thing he wants to put his mind into, is alcohol. For him, he don't deserve any kind of love, he don't deserve to be touched, to be praised, or to be satisfied in any given way. He don't want a parody of intimacy with a prostitute, or just a one-night stand. He don't deserve it.
In this man's mind, nothing will make him happy, nothing will bring light in this world anymore, nothing will raise his spirit why would he fall for that shit? Why would he get laid?
But after he saved the world? Think better about himself? and get back on his feet?
Logan would be shy, not shy like a virgin, shy like a hurt man. He would not give anyone his trust that easily to the first human being coming to him. No, he needs a special someone, he needs this one personnel. This one personnel who will say his name like a little prayer and make it feel like home.
If he finds out this special someone, he wouldn't be rough, wouldn't be mean, oh no. Logan will be lost, confused about how he ended up here, why the person chose them, and why they even wanted to let him a chance in the first place. But this intimacy, Logan need it. At first, it would be weird for him, he don't know what to do, how to put himself, top, bottom? He's so confused. He would need a hand to get it together, he would need time and patience to get out the beast in him.
But what would he do exactly? Logan would lay on his back, too scared to hurt the person in front of him. He would start with soft kisses, they are bad and he knows it, he is a bad kisser (the man hadn't kissed someone for ages.). Logan will not know where to put his hand, on the waist maybe, around the shoulder? Maybe on the chest. He wants to obey and he will! all the orders someone will give him, so he knows he wouldn't fuck up. Top or bottom he would try his best to stop being as selfish as his past self, he wants his partner to get all the pleasure they want. He isn't a loud one for this first time, he is too concentrated on not fucking up that he mostly hold his breath during each movement. He would beg for his partner to say his name, to say how good he is doing, to say how they love him. He needs to know, that he isn't broken. After the orgasm, he would hold onto his lover for a couple of minutes, smelling them, caressing their body, being sure they are there and real. Looking at him, making eye contact would make this man melt, forehead again forehead, whispering his name, saying how they love them, how good they are. Logan would need love and comfort, someone to hold him and tell him he is worth it. Someone to say his name, and make him stay when the night fades away.
(Would he be like that with Wade? Maybe if Deadpool don't tease him too much and takes a break from his persona to let the other man heal, yes)
Tumblr media
We are doing a part 2 for Deadpool cause my brain used all his energy for Logan. (Why I ear boss music ?)
If you want to talk about Logan, PLEAS PLEAS PLEAS PLEAS slide into my DM or my request/ask thing I NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS.
Also eh, I have a KO-FI liked in my BIO if you want to check out. Later people.

I've seen ppl do the marauders being teachers and the subjects they would teach. And hers are my 2 cents.
James he would teach PE. Argue with the wall. Also he'd be that one teacher everyone loves bc he cares for the students. All the students who have PE with him would be fit bc James cares so much abt the students health. He would organise basketball, football /soccer and volleyball games between the other classes.
Sirius On the popular belief of Sirius teaching French, I actually think he would teach art. That doesn't mean that I think that he isn't intelligent, I think he's creative and he would rather teaching a subject which requires u to be creative. He would take the kids to art galleries.
Remus to no one's surprise, I think he would teach English /Literature. And he would make it INTERESTING. They'd be studying Romeo and Juliet , the kids would feel like they are in Verona, Italy watching it happen. Also smth that's so precious for me is Remus having movie hrs, watching films that we are adapted into movie form and they would analyse the differences between the two.
Peter I think Peter would teach home Economics. Also he would be that teacher that u either love and appreciate or hate with a burning passion. He would be a shy introverted nature but also funny and tolerant.
Lily she would teach citizenship. Yes she would be that teacher that would make sure u were mindful, empathetic and grateful. She would make sure kids understood everything u need to know abt being a good citizen. She would also organise field trips which would be in parks, town halls etc etc.
Marlene Listen, I think she would be a history teacher. Her compassion loving nature and ability to tell a story give rlly much history teacher vibez. The kids would be hypnotised listening to every word Marlene was speaking abt a revolution or a glorious monarchy.
Mary Now Mary would teach theatre. Say what u want but I'm a Theatre teacher Mary believer. She would take it super seriously and she would teach all of the kids how to act. Also she would analyse the kids chemistry (basically how much chemistry they have with each other) and she would play match maker with that information. She'd be hitting the bullseye everytime.
Dorcas She would be teaching mathematics. Again argue with the wall. She would be that strict teacher with a heart of gold. Also she would check in with every kid to see if they need help and would be that teacher who wouldn't make u feel bad for not understanding something.
Pandora She would teach Chemistry. Why? Idk she just gives off chemist vibez. And she would always take her class to the lab. And instead of assigning projects, she and her class would conduct research on certain topics and try out formulas.
Barty :Barty would teach physics. He is super smart and in my eyes physics is smth that he would find interesting. He would be teaching the kids with practical examples, like dropping stuff when they have to learn abt gravity and ect.
Evan He would teach biology. Argue with the wall. He would love dissecting bodies and the students in his class would be horrified at his excitement. Also he would be such an inspirational and dedicated teacher. He wouldn't be that strict of a teacher but he would keep his class focused.
Regulus He would teach a foreign language like French. He would be so strict and his class would low-key fear him. He wouldn't have that high of expectations and his test wouldn't be that hard. Also he would explain the kids important facts abt French and he would be an incredible teacher. When he would assign classwork he'd go around the class asking if they needed help. Also he'd be that teacher who wouldn't mind answering questions after class.
So yeah that was soo fun! Lmk if u like it or want me to do stuff like this more often! Would you attend this school if you could?

Ch 161~
Can't draw so much during the week..!
More commentary about 161..
I'm actually convinced Fatal and Mephisto should be Kamiki's song?? I think some things hint of it.
and that he DOES really care about Aqua.
and that he does have to do with Sarutahiko, Amenouzume's husband(although this part is a speculation)
More stuff in the read more:
(first written in another language and chatGPT helped me translate it... I can't write things like this twice ;v; it's a great world here. so convenient~)
Honestly, it's frustrating and a bit agonizing; what is this even about? The plot is stressful, but...
Still, being able to focus like this... I guess it’s a good thing to find a work that hooks you and makes you think deeply in some way.
LOL, it also means I’m living a life where I have enough time to care about a manga, even though I’m currently in a pretty tough spot.
This manga, whether it's in a good or bad direction, seems to be driving me crazy in its own way.
If I’m disappointed, I can always go read something else, (I even got permission from someone to draw a Persona fanfic fanart, but I’ve been too hooked on this manga to do it.. that fanfic was so good.. I need to do it sooner or later..).
But I was so confident about my analyses. Like, really... I’m usually good at picking up on these kinds of things? This manga is great at psychological portrayal, and it was amusing to analyze that, There are just too many things sticking out for me, and things feel uneasy.
It’s not about the pairing... It just keeps bothering me... Am I really missing the mark on this? I’m usually good at sensing these things...
Without the movie arc, this development would be fine, but that arc is sandwiched in there, and I interpreted the character based on that too...
Honestly, every time I listen to the songs, I get this strong feeling like, "This isn’t Aqua." The kind of emotions in these songs, it's not him that's singing them. It's the dad. I immediately posted about it when I first heard it in July. As soon as I heard it, I thought, "This is it," and got a gut feeling.
I really want to feel that emotion again.
Even if Kamiki does turn out to be a serial killer, I still think these songs could describe his inner state.
I think we’ll get some explanation in the next five chapters or so, even if it takes a bit longer.
Also, the expression Kamiki makes when Aqua stabs him is so genuine. Until that moment, he had been smiling, but...
If that expression was because he suddenly felt threatened with his life, it’s a bit pathetic. But... I don’t think that’s the case. What I really pay attention to are the emotional flow and expressions.
When Aqua says he wants to watch Ruby perform, the smile on Kamiki’s face... it’s soft. That’s... definitely a look of affection. It’s not like, “Oh, I've won him over!” or, “Yes, I’ve convinced him!” I interpreted it as Kamiki having paternal love, and there was a scene that backed up that idea earlier. I’m sure he really likes Aqua.
That’s not a bad expression. It’s more like, "Yeah, you wish to see Ruby, don't you. Go ahead, watch her. Keep living" (Which makes me wonder, is he really planning to harm Ruby? If he harms her, maybe he plans to do it after the Dome performance? But even that doesn’t make sense. Does that mean Aqua would have to come back to stab him AGAIN after that takes place?? Does it really add up to his logic for telling him to go watch her?)
Aqua says Kamiki will destroy Ruby’s future, but...
How exactly is he going to do that? Hasn't this guy literally done nothing? If they're talking about the Dome performance, at least that should go off without a hitch, right? So at least until then, Ruby would be safe?? So, Kamiki isn't planning to harm Ruby now at least, right? Even with that weird.. logic that he proposes (I hope he's lying about that tbh)
Then when Aqua smiles and says something like, "Haha, but I’ll just kill you and die with you," while pointing the knife at him again...
Kamiki’s expression at that moment really stands out, and it’s not like a twisted look of being frustrated about things not going his way. It’s not anger or annoyance he's feeling. It’s the same shocked and despairing expression we saw in chapters 146 and 153.
Aqua seems to have no clue what kind of person his father really is, huh? He can’t read him at all.
Honestly, from the way Kamiki speaks, I get the impression that he’s actually quite kind. He’s not saying anything too wrong.
Remember the scene where Ruby gets angry because people were talking carelessly about Ai’s death? Kamiki probably knows about that too. I think Aqua and Ai, and Ruby and Kamiki, are quite alike in nature. Kamiki might’ve felt a lot of grief over Ai at that time. I do believe he loved Ai.
The phrase, "People don’t want the truth," is pretty painful, especially if you think about Ai. That’s why Ai lived telling lies. Isn't Kamiki thinking about what's happened to her, then? By bringing that up? He should have felt it, loving/watching a person like her and what unfolded.. Ai died because of the truth that she had kids with him. Ugly fans like Ryosuke and Nino couldn't take her being less than perfect. Wouldn't this have hurt Kamiki too? The fact that they loved each other(At least Ai did genuinely, we know that) was unwanted. People could not accept that, and that's one of the reasons why they had to break up.
From the way Kamiki talks, it feels like he genuinely doesn’t want his son or daughter to go through that kind of pain.
I think Kamiki has a pretty good nature. When you look at how he speaks, it’s gentle, and he seems to genuinely care about Aqua and knows a lot about him. Maybe he’s been watching over him from afar for a long time? He probably even knows who his son has feelings for.
It really feels like Kamiki is trying to persuade him: "I’m fine with dying. But you, you have so many reasons to live, right? Shouldn’t you return to the people you care about?"
And, the way Kamiki reacts after Aqua stabs him also shows it. He’s visibly agitated afterward. His expression noticeably shifts to panic and darkness.
Wait... stop it, don’t do this! That’s what he says.
The way he’s talking to Aqua in that moment.
It’s not like, “How dare you?” but more like, “Aqua, please don’t do this.”
It really seems like he doesn’t want Aqua to die.
He’s really shocked by it.
From his expressions, he seems more shocked by Aqua getting stabbed than by his own fall, like he didn’t even know how to react properly. He's being grabbed onto but he isn't looking at the hands that are grabbing him, his line of sight is on Aqua there
The final expression he makes can seem really pathetic, but...
Oh man, I think that’s the truth of that situation.
And it makes sense because Ai dreamed of raising her kids with this guy. I think he could’ve been a really great father who adored his kids... at least until the point they separated. He was just really young back then.
Doesn’t this guy really love his kids? Even without the movie arc, there have been hints of his concern for them.
I’m not trying to interpret him kindly just because I particularly like or find this character attractive.
If he’s a serial killer psychopath, then yeah, he should die here. When I first got spoiled, my reaction was completely merciless. "Well, he should die if he's like that," I said. But...
I don’t think that’s the case. It really seems like he cares about Aqua.
Oh, and Kamiki’s soul being noble in the past is mentioned, right?
So, he was a good person before?
Well, I guess I wasn’t totally off in reading his character? LOL.
Does that mean he could be a fallen god?(could be a stretch, but there IS a lyric in fatal about fallenness!!!)
Sarutahiko is often described as a "noble" and "just" god, so it’s quite possible that Kamiki’s true nature is based on Sarutahiko, the husband of Ame-no-Uzume = Ai.
That couple was very affectionate, and according to the Aratate Shrine description, they even go as far as blessing marital relationships. Those gods really love each other. In that case, Ai being so fond and loving of Hikaru also makes sense. It could explain why she asked her kids to save him...
So, can't “Fatal” be his song? Maybe he’s fallen from grace?
The lyrics in "Fatal" say things like, "What should I use to fill in what’s missing?" Could that be about human lives? But did he really kill people? How can you save someone after that? That’s why I don’t think he went that far.
"Without you, I cannot live anymore"
“I would sacrifice anything for you”
This isn’t Aqua. This is Kamiki.
Would Aqua do that much for Ai? He shouldn’t be so blind.
When I listened to "Fatal," I immediately thought of "Mephisto" because the two songs are so similar in context.
They’re sung by the same narrator, aren’t they? That made it clear what Kamiki’s purpose was, which is why I started drawing so much about him and Ai after that.
He keeps saying he’ll give up his life and that he wants to see Ai again. This isn’t Aqua! These feelings are different from what Aqua has.
At first, I thought because Ruby = Amaterasu, with Tsukuyomi having shown up, and Aqua perhaps having relations to Susanoo (he’s falling into the sea this time, right? LOL) I wondered if Ai and her boyfriend’s story was based on the major myth of Izanagi and Izanami, since they’re so well-known.
That myth is famous for how the husband tries to save his wife after she dies, though he fails in the end.
The storyline is similar to Mephisto’s, so I thought, "Could this be it?"
And then I realized Sarutahiko and Ame-no-Uzume's lores also fit really well. Ai thinking Kamiki was like a jewel when they first met is similar to how Ame-no-Uzume saw Sarutahiko shining when they first met. Sarutahiko guiding Ame-no-Uzume is similar to how Hikaru taught Ai how to act. They even had descendants that have a title that means "maiden who's good at dancing" The two also fell for each other at first sight. The shrine the characters visit in the story is supposedly where those two met and married. If they REALLY are those gods in essence, It feels like something went wrong with the wish because one or both of them became twisted.
Anyway, I think Kamiki was originally noble but fell from grace, and it’s likely that Ai’s death was the catalyst.
But I’m not sure if he really went as far as killing people.
What is Tsukuyomi even talking about? I’ve read it several times, and I still don’t fully understand.
I really hope she's wrong because… killing others to make Ai’s name carry more weight? That doesn’t make any sense. What does “the weight of her name” supposed to mean?? I don't think that's something that should be taken just at face value, I feel like there's more behind this idea.
What kind of logic is that? And on top of that, I can’t understand why Ai’s life would become more valuable if Kamiki dies. It just doesn’t follow.
Why would he even say that?
He must be really confident... Does he think he’s someone greater than Ai?
Even so, how does it connect?
I read two books today, because I started wondering if my reading comprehension has dropped. Thankfully, I’m still able to read books just fine. It’s not like I can’t read, you know? I’ve taken media literacy classes and pride myself on not having terrible reading comprehension.
I tried to make sense of what exactly the heck this may mean, and I think.. if it were to mean something like, “I’ll offer my life as a sacrifice to Ai,” I’d at least get that. That kind of logic, in a way, has some practical meaning.
Kamiki talked about sacrifices? tributes? offerings? in chapter 147. I really remember certain scenes clearly because I’ve gone over them carefully. In that case, if Kamiki dies, then the weight or value of his life would transfer to Ai, and that would “help” her, right?
If the story is going in that direction,
when I look at “Mephisto” and “Fatal,” I can see that by doing this, Kamiki would have a chance to either save Ai or get closer to her. At least that makes some sense.
But is it really right for Ai to ask someone to save Kamiki, who killed others? As soon as the idea of it came up, I knew something was up.
Because of what Ai's wanted, I think it’s possible that Kamiki didn’t actually go that far. In the songs, they talk about gathering light and offering something, but they don’t say anything about killing people… Kamiki said he’d sacrifice his own life. People around him may have died, but…
Kamiki’s true personality doesn’t seem like the type to do that… And looking at his actions when Aqua was stabbed??
He hasn’t shown any direct actions yet, so I still don’t know how far he’d actually go.
It’s not that I don’t believe Tsukuyomi’s words entirely,
but I don’t think the conclusion is going to be something like, “Ai should’ve never met Kamiki.”
Every time we see Kamiki’s actual actions, there’s this strange gentleness to him, and that’s what’s confusing me.
The more I look closely, the weirder it feels, and something about it just bothers me. If Kamiki were truly just a completely crazy villain, I’d think, “Oh, so that’s who he is,” and I wouldn’t deny it.
But each time, I start thinking that maybe Ai didn’t meet someone so strange after all? Ai liked him that much, so on that front, it makes sense to me. I want to believe that’s the right conclusion. I mean, doesn’t what he says sound kind? Isn’t he gentle?
No, but seriously, when Kamiki listened to Aqua’s reasons for wanting to live, I thought his expression was warm. It didn’t seem like some calculated expression like “according to plan” like Light Yagami. It felt more like a fond, affectionate expression. I draw too, you know. I pay a lot of attention to expressions. This character often makes expressions that really stand out.
It’s like he’s genuinely trying to convince Aqua not to do anything reckless. Maybe I’m being soft on Kamiki because he’s Ai’s boyfriend? But actually, it’s not like that?
I mean, I’m the type who’s like, “Anyone who did something bad to Ai should die!!” It’s because he’s a character. If this were a real person, I wouldn’t so casually tell someone to go die or say such strong things.
But… he seems like a good person.
+It’s a small thing, but why did Kamiki drop his phone while talking about Ruby? Ppft If you drop it from that height, it’d probably crack. Was he trying to look cool? (It’s an Apple phone, huh.) Is he a bit clumsy? Well... since it looks like him and Aqua are about to fall into the sea, maybe it was a blessing he did so. The phone might be saved after all. If he manages to climb out of there, he could contact someone with that phone.

It really hurts me how bad this poor man was treated and still is by Disney and some empathy and compassion lacking, not-thinking peewees.
Tumblr media
My biggest rant post in cooperation with Magnificolover from Insta is still cooking. And let me tell you, it's gonna be spicy, blunt and long.
Mags might be the star of the show but this topic goes beyond him.
Furthermore, I keep hearing that more and more children are siding with Magnifico. Children!! My people!
Now, teens and adults hating and shitting on Mags because they cannot see past the rim of their plate of narrow-mindedness is one issue by itself, but you know something is seriously wrong when children tell you "But he isn't a villian at all!" But the the others around him! And yes, like him a bunch more than Asha.
I know that disney intented to create a nice story with another lovable heroine but instead we got a deeply traumatized, altruistic man, who, despite his great pain, built an untopia just for the reason so others would never have to suffer like he did. He constantly gave, cared more for others than himself, only wanted love and some respect in return. But got none of that! He didn't get love, he was constantly kicked and picked at his scars. He's not being taken serious, and only ever seen as a source for favors and a scapegoat. No one was ever there for him. He had no one! Not even a sidekick! No one ever saw and heard him, took him into their arms and let him breathe. This man struggled and drowned and people watched, worse even pushed him down further!
Tumblr media
And worse of all, he was pushed to the point of mental breakdown, where he was so terrified and done that he got himself cursed and possessed by an evil force. And then the people who had gotten everything from him and still treated him like shit locked him up to suffer even more for eternity?
This is so so wrong! What the actual frick! My God! The whole movie is a horror show! Magnificolover and I have been fighting for Mags and against this toxic shitshow that disney pulled for over six months now and we won't stop!
If someone really takes the time to carefully read our analyses (which are explained down to the tiniest nitty gritty detail) and still sees Magnifico as a villain ( purely evil person/being) then there is something seriously wrong with them! Why are such people and disney acting like heartless monsters?
We don't want that! You think something like this is fun to watch? Seeing a broken man getting broken even further because people are greedy, ignorant and selfish is not fun! This is horrible! It's sickening to stomach if anything!
Tumblr media
This doesn't celebrate everything good that disney has stood for those past 10 decates! It spits at it and in the faces of everyone who truly loved the content this company has given in the past.
You want a real villain? MAKE ONE! For goodness sake! But not, whatever the obnoxious toxcitity shit, that happened with Magnifico.
We hate it! I hate it!
If I could sing one song to Magnifico, it would be this from Lewis Capaldi :
In the moment you feel half complete
Know the moments are temporary
When the fear fuels the fire underneath
I'm gonna love the hell out of you
Take all the pain that you're going through
And I'll bring you heaven if that's what you need
'Cause you've always loved the hell out of me
Tumblr media
You don't want him? Fine! I'll take him and not give him back ever again! If someone cannot see this man is a jackpot on two legs that's their problem not mine.
Magnifico is many things but most definitly not : a villain, a bad person and a sextoy.

Hey, since you often catch details and seem like an open-minded person, I want to share what I observed in the last few days. So, I definitely believe in Jikook but that was not always the case. My bias is Jimin and I always mostly focused on him, but once I observed Jungkook more carefully, the truth revealed itself step by step. Now something similar happened since I focused on Taehyung. And it seems crazy, to me as well, but please give it a chance! Watch "Nippon TV BUZZ RHYTHM 02 - BTS Cut" timestamp: 13:55, and watch (and listen to) all of their expressions closely, especially Jikook and Taehyung. Keep an eye on Namjoon, too. Then please look at the lyrics of Sweet Night and really reflect on them. Just as a reminder, there is Taehyung calling Jimin his "one and only best friend" in "Let's BTS" and similarly in Festa 2019, for example. I also am stuck on Jin calling Taehyung very generous and big-hearted in "Special Movie BTS MUSIC JOURNEY" (after the release of Sweet Night) and the others agreeing, their expressions speaking once again. Then finally those compilations where Taekook is apparently jealous of each other. Or Vmin. And now you just have to connect the dots but I did not see any other person who has done so. All those moments, all those compilations make so much more sense to me. All in all, it seems that Taehyung has or had feelings for Jimin. Sounds crazy! Of course we should not assume too much but the connections are there and in hindsight, they seem obvious. You just have to put the puzzle pieces together. I really hope that Taehyung is over it, because unrequited love hurts badly. Taehyung as a person makes so much more sense to me. His actions, his depression, his pain... Well, I guess Jimin did not call himself "Tailor of Chaos" without reason. That situation must have been difficult for him, too. Maybe (just maybe) that is an indicator regarding his state in 2020... And of course on Jungkook. But maybe that is the actual reason why Jungkook and Taehyung seem to be closer now, maybe mending their friendship! Especially, since Taehyung found a partner. And maybe Jikook feel some kind of guilt for causing Taehyung pain... who knows. There is much to think about and honestly, it sounds like pure fanfiction but if I learned something in life, it is that nothing is impossible. Hope you give it a chance, I really would like your opinion on all that. I certainly am feeling very surprised. Have a nice day :)
Yes anon, it takes very little for me to judge people seeing as I'm a lunatic myself 🤭🤭 if I had a shilling for everytime someone called me crazy I would have attended all of Suga's concerts and then some 😂 so u get no judgement from me my lovely 🙌🏽
Except insecure Jikookers, of course. Fuck you! I judge you everyday! 🤨🤨🤨
So! Umm yes. I've seen this theory being thrown around. I have friends who think this might be the case. And one of them is actually really good at analysing and picking up cues and she believes V may have had feelings for Jimin at some point and her arguments make sense.
But for me... idk. Idk anon. 🤔 I have a hard time picturing this. I will share a clip that will be hard for some of you to watch. So brace yourselves
Oh boy. Glad I have my anons off because u guys are already kinda mad at V atm 😂😂
Things to note about the first clip: (I know... I know. It's bad. I recently just discovered it and it doesn't look good, I agree)
a) Point to note number one is that, that is how most people in SK feel about homosexuality. As u can hear V is basically telling Jimin something is wrong with him mentally for liking men. And when u grow up with everyone around u telling u this, of course u will believe it. It also explains why he would keep the company he keeps. (Go Google Bogum and his cult scandal) People in SK don't believe men can be with other men. And those who have seen it happen, think its a mental illness. This was obviously embedded in V for him to have done this not once, but twice. And this is only what we saw on camera.
b) 2nd point to note; Taekook just cannot be real. It's just, impossible. Yes, V has changed, obviously. Hanging out with Jimin will do that to you. He obviously doesn't feel as strongly about homosexuality like he used to. And he loves Jimin and JK which means he has adjusted his mentality. But, this is a guy who used to say basically homophobic stuff to his friend. And as u can see, that clip is from around May 2015 So at what point would V have started dating JK as early as 2013 when this is how he felt about his friend a boy, liking boys?
c) 3rd point to note; Jimin doesn't deny it. I hate how he's just defending himself there repeating over and over; I don't like you that way, so what's your issue? I dont behave that way towards you, why you mad? Anyway, Jimin doesn't once say "no i don't like men." Or "stop lying" he just says "I don't feel that way about you."
d) Last point to note, Jikook is real. Why? Because what triggered V, was Jimin telling JK to sit next to him. And immediately V goes off about how something is wrong with Jimin in the head because these days he likes men. Likes JK.
Tumblr media
Now anon, let's go back to point number 2. I know internalised homophobia is a thing. (Thank you Shameless! You taught me sm!) But it stems from someone hating that they like someone of the same sex and they don't want to be that way, but they are. So saying V used to have a crush on Jimin insinuates he would have had to get over his homophobia and start seeing Jimin in a new light. I mean, it's Jimin and the Jimin effect is a thing that exists. But, still. Idk. I just don't know. Watching that clip tells me that his parents are like this. Him being so close with the WS, tells me he wouldn't have kept them as friends if at any one point he started liking someone of the same sex. Knowing how they feel about it.
V is more accepting now, of course. But Jikook are in the closet and only close knit people know about it. And V definitely isn't divulging that to the WS. Again, knowing how they feel about this topic.
What am I saying anon? I think those V jealous Vmin moments that exist are because he "lost" his bestfiend when Jikook became a thing. He had to share Jimin with JK. And I imagine Jimin tried to be there for both of them but sometimes JK took priority and maybe V didn't like that. They used to be bestfriends. Super close. V even looked after Jimin in school. Asked some people he knew to look after the new kid because that was his friend. They were close. Really close. Then satellite Jeon comes and changes everything.
Now to the assignment you gave me. The question was who's the most romantic
Tumblr media
Suga (what?) And RM say JK. Guess they've seen it first hand. 🤭 Also Jikook both point at Jin
Tumblr media
V on the other hand says Jikook but then changes it to just Jimin
Tumblr media
I also looked at the lyrics of sweet night (he sounds so good) and I'm guessing you're talking about this part;
Tumblr media
Anon, if you ship Vmin, or are suspicious of Vmin, it would be easy to conclude this song is about Jimin. Easy. But if you're like me who believes V is as straight as a ruler, then the first thing I think of when I hear that, is some girl he liked at the time that he was really close to. Someone he dated in the past, maybe. To me V is as straight as they come and I could try, but I cannot see where you're coming from.
But if you listen to sweet night and then watch V jealous compilations, you're gonna be influenced. Because you're going in already thinking the best friend he's talking about is Jimin! But, remember, you don't have to have romantic feelings for someone to be jealous. You can be jealous that your sister is spending too much time with someone else. You can be jealous your bestfriend doesn't make time for you anymore ever since they started dating. You know what I mean?
That's what I think you saw. In my opinion, of course. I could be wrong and way off base but...yeah.
In Conclusion: Vmin isn't real and there was never potential for it to be so.
I appreciate u trusting me with this ask, anon 😘

Lord save me from bad takes on the internet.
"Lucy Gray used Coriolanus"
Yes, and? She was a teenager thrown in a game of life and death and he was her only lifeline. She was smart, she played the game. But she never did anything to hurt him. Her only intention was to save herself, as she should.
The beauty of the story being told through Snow's pov is that we'll never actually know Lucy Gray. We only know her through how he sees her and all that he projects on her. Did she love him? Maybe. Was she really trying to seduce him or was he just infatuated with her and she went on with it because she feared he'd give up on her if she refused him? Probably. We'll never know.
I believe her feelings just started becoming real when they went back to 12 and that she genuinely intended to run away with him. But his actions weren't compatible with the kind of man she wanted to spend her life with. So she either ran from him or laid a trap for him, again the beauty is in not knowing because it's all from Snow's paranoid mind's pov.
But seeing people on tiktok laying out their "new theory" Lucy was manipulating him all along she used him just... Please, please read a book. Preferably this one, but anyone will do, please acquire some media literacy.
I'm never one to insist people read the book before analysing a movie. But when it comes to Suzanne Collins, I will gatekeep. Don't be saying things if you haven't read the books.
Because in the book, it is glaringly obvious that Lucy Gray is quite guarded and careful with Coriolanus while in the Capitol, she behaves with him the same way she does on camera or on stage, she's performing. It's her only skill and she's using it to survive. Back in 12, she becomes a person, and that's when Snow's feelings start to decline funny how that works. Away from his Capitol way of life and the promise of a stellar career and power, her quirks and her songs and her covey family suddenly became annoying instead of endearingly exotic.
Collins created a complex relationship, where one of them is very clearly the villain over all, he's one who chooses to use people over and over again and stabs people in the back. And if this villain tries to tell you that the other person is his villain, maybe take it with a grain of salt? And when the other person doesn't act like a saint in excruciating circumstances maybe look at the bigger picture?

Beatrix Russell's insights
Beatrix Russell, I'm sure most Fallout New Vegas players know her, but when was the last time y''ad a proper conversation with her? I should also say we ay gonna be analysing 'er recruitment into the Wrangler's employment 'ere or her sexual side (mostly, it'll come up a bit).
Beatrix's Advice
Beatrix offers a lot of insights into Freeside and also offers a few bits of advice. We'll start wi' those for structure all of these responses come from saying 'Got any advice to share?' I'll be honest wi' ya, the 'these are reffrence to X' I'm gonna be sayin' is jus' Wiki information. But I'll also provide me opinions on the quotes.
"Feed a man for free, and he'll be back asking for more. Feed a man a bullet. You won't hear from him again."
That's certainly true, and pretty applicable in the Wasteland, I s'pose.
"Good, bad... The guy with the gun makes the rules."
That's a reference to the movie Army of Darkness and the line 'Good...bad...I'm the guy with the gun.' and, apparently, that's also something John Browning said possibly? Reportedly, anyway. Still, also applicable in the Wasteland (and, if we go metaphorical, applicable to most authority). Personally, I think 'good' isn't applicable when anyone makes rules with the authority of 'gun'.
"Time you enjoy wasting isn't wasted time."
This is an adaption of the quote 'The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.' by Bertrand Russell. The wiki points out the fact that they're both B. Russells, which is pretty curious. The quote itself I agree with (naturally, I mean, why else would I be doin' this? Hahahaa.) and is probably important to consider as someone as old as Beatrix.
"The only thing I know for certain is that I don't know nothing."
That's a pretty famous one, even wi'out the Wiki tellin' me I know that's Socrates accordin' t' Plato. Let's not get too deep into this 'un. Unlike the last two I see no particular relevance to Wasteland life and, quite frankly, this isn't even advice, Beatrix.
"Longing makes the heart grow fonder, but I've always been a fan of hog-tying my lovers to make sure they can't escape."
I'm sure that's advice to people who're into that sorta thing, but I'm very much not the target audience for it (bein' a proud aroace repulsed at the very idea of engaging personally in such acts). Still, maybe someone over the years has gotten into BDSM because the Ghoul Cowgirl who's name rhymes with 'dominatrix' an' good for that 'ypothetical person.
So, in review, some advice that makes sense in the Wasteland, some philosophy and a bit of oversharing that I s'pose could work as foreshadowing of her future profession in a lot of playthroughs. Let's get t' the juicy stuff now, the reason I decided t' make this.
Beatrix's on the History Freeside
Yes, this is the excitin' part. We'll start wi' the start 'Tell me about Freeside.'
"What starts in misery tends to stay there. Freeside wasn't Freeside until six or seven years ago. That's when Mr. House's robots rolled out of the Lucky 38 and started pushing everyone who wouldn't join him off the Strip. Lots of folks died. Some scattered to the winds. The rest wound up in Freeside and seem never to lose the habit of living like refugees."
Things like this, it puts it all into perspective Freeside, The Strip, Hell even Westside and North Vegas Square am all recent developments. The walls an' divisions aren't even 10 years old. Robert Edwin House created modern New Vegas through violence. We have no idea how many people were killed by it, what 'a lot' means here, but think about it this way: there's a good chance that everywhere on The Strip that ain't the Lucky 38 were all inhabited by people who were either killed or displaced by House less than 10 years prior to the game. That is t' say The Tops, Gomorrah, The Ultra-Luxe, the NCR Embassy an' Military Police HQ and even Michael Angelo's Workshop all were potential homes to people who's lives are now lost to time.
There were people already in Freeside, the buildings and streets not claimed by House, that's why you'll meet many people who are 'Freeside Locals' and have been far longer than 7 years, but as Beatrix said, Freeside as we know it wasn't the Freeside before House. None of the three families lived in those casinos (the Boot-Riders weren't even stationary before becoming The Chairmen). The place was created in an act of miserable violence by House.
Beatrix's Views of Factions
Now for faction opinions. After hearing Beatrix's statements about Freeside's violent and very recent founding we can ask 'What about The Kings?'
"What about them? Pretty much the sort of gang you'd find anywhere else, just with better clothes. The King himself, though? He's got that something special you can't put a finger on. Too bad he likes girls with skin."
I'm not 100% sure if Beatrix knows that last part or presumes it, regardless she overall has a rather cynical view on The Kings as 'just another gang'. An', y'know, while they do have points over a lot of nastier gangs, I'm gonna guess 'Gang as de facto government' is a very common arrangement throughout the entire Wasteland. The Kings isn't the worst bunch in the world and The King is a flawed idealist, but its worst tendencies, encouraged by Pacer and its other more nationalistic and violent members certainly makes them not as clean as I'm sure many see 'em. Still, the gimmick is fun (I bet Beatrix even knows who Elvis is).
'What do you think of the NCR?'
"I reckon they care about getting water and electricity from the dam, and that's where it ends. The locals here are just an inconvenience to them, something to step over or stomp down. They're here for the resources, plain and simple."
Beatrix is correct. Here's a link to Colonel James Hsu sayin' as much an' gettin' called an imperialist bastard by me due to it.
'What's your opinion of Mr. House?'
"Before or after the human race shot itself in the foot? I been around long enough to have both opinions, see. Before the war, Mr. House was a famous captain of industry - robotics, to be specific. Seemed charming in interviews, until he became a recluse. Since the war, though? Didn't make a peep for near two hundred years - but when he came back, he came back strong and killed a lot of people."
Some stuff we already knew there. Unlike Raul, Beatrix is 100% convinced and aware about House bein' House. Beatrix don't actually say her opinion on modern House, but the implication in the way she highlighted that he killed a lot of people 7-8 years ago says all that needs t' be said. She also revealed that House preparing for the War was noticed by the public.
'What do you think of the Followers of the Apocalypse?'
"I don't know how they do it. They're like saints, those Followers. If they didn't charge for their services, I'd think they was crazy. But no, they're just naive. Warms your heart."
Beatrix is a bit of a cynical person, as one would expect from someone who saw the War, saw the next 200 years, saw Mr House's rise and is aware of the intentions of the NCR. So, it's nice to see her have a bit of fondness for the Followers even if she sees them as naïve.
'What do you know about the Van Graffs?'
"A couple of Radscorpions, those two. Gloria is the stable one, but she'd slit your throat if there's a profit in it. Or rather she'd tell her brother to do it for her. Jean Baptiste is one of the sicker humans I've had the displeasure of observing."
Hmm, pretty comprehensive view. Wonder if she ever did any work for the Van Graffs from this view. Prob'ly not, actually, I'm gonna guess she just means she's seen Jean-Baptiste bein' a monster, been in the Silver Rush or maybe she knew the original inhabitants of the Silver Rush who the Van Graffs did a Mr House to. The only other time she uses the term 'observing' there am some sexual undertones, but I reckon that's not 'er intent 'ere.
Conclusion
So, that was Beatrix's insights Freeside, Various Factions and... life, I guess. Some interestin' stuff, I think. An' 'opefully me own provided thoughts an' commentary 'as been int'restin'.

How would you respond to claims that 13's run feels a bit dodgy by having a cop travel with them?
You know, the other day while generally browsing the internet I happened across somebody complaining about this war movie. They were angry it was glorifying soldiers. Were anti-military themselves in general. You know what I mean. The thing is, though, the literature course I did in school had an entire unit and exam on war literature and I've read the book upon which the movie was based on and it has stuck with me as an incredible critique of war, conscription and the military by portraying those things in fiction. I would never pick it up again, not because it was bad, but because it was rough to 17yo me, but I am happy I've read it and other pieces of literature like it. I am happy I was taught to analyse and contextualise media with a serious subject such as that.
Now, this isn't the exact same thing as this. The BBC would legit never allow their lead children's show to Explicitly portray any acab message, like, ever, lets be true to reality here. But also, I genuinely think there is a fair amount of that puritanical black and white thinking going on here on the riff of Yaz working for the police being an immediate strike against the show because people think that portraying something is automatically lauding it because uh, the content of the story does Not track with the idea they're saying cop work is good work.
I have seen (on this site and many others) people say over and over again the only good cops are either dead or have quit bc they realised it was a crock of shit. In which case, the question becomes;
Did y'all miss the part where Yaz quit?
Yaz is not a cop anymore. Yaz quit. Yaz is portrayed as thinking it's frustrating bc because the helping people thing she was supposed to be doing isn't happening and we're shown this from literally the get go, her very first scene, and from there is only seen as trying A) to get work where she's actually helping somebody and totally failing to get it and B) straight up trying to get out of going to work by actually forging paperwork. S/O to her for that bit of illegality btw. Love that for her. She does not end the series employed by the police. Yaz found an actual way to help people and chose to do That instead.
Yaz's career arc is 'disillusioned teen signs up to be cop, realises it's bullshit and there are actual ways to help people and quits to go do that instead' which is, if i'm not mistaken, what we want actual real life cops to realise about their life choices.
I get it's a tetchy subject bc acab, i agree, and I get and agree and wish that this stuff could be more explicitly portrayed as well bc i'm sick of media or execs being too cowardly to be bold about messaging, but the insinuation that this portrayed the cops as systematically helpful or useful by having Yaz start out as a cop? No. Would I have liked it to be more explicit? Well yes, duh, but I cannot emphasise how that was literally never gonna happen. I can however emphasise how ideas like Yaz, whose main goal is to help, quitting being a cop bc she wasn't helping anybody beamed into impressionable young minds do, in fact, take root though.
Like, having a plucky teen hero character go through an arc of helping people and them Ending a cop to carry on the good work is Vastly different to a plucky teen starting out a cop bc they think that's how they get to help people then quitting bc they realised that's not true. One of these things is pro cop, the other is not.
I also hasten to mention again that there is a genuine conversation here abt the dodgy-ness cops being used in mental health emergencies. I wrote this out about it [Here].
On a personal note on this score, I, much like Sonya have been forced to deal with cops throughout somebody else's mental health emergency when I never should have had to and it fucking sucked. What an unempathetic bunch of rats who clearly haven't even done a google search's worth of research on how to discuss these things, let alone give it the gravity it deserves. That my choices were either cops or somebody dying is a travesty. And maybe this story speaks to me more personally as somebody who has had this experience and wants to throw hands over it still over a decade later, but that lady did not help Yaz, Yaz helped herself after a measly pep talk and the woman obviously never bothered to keep tabs and see if Yaz was okay afterwards either. Ryan helped his mate. Graham spreads good mental health advice that benefits others. The hospital in Syria was dealing in mental heath care by professionals of the time. Cop lady convinced Yaz to go home, succeeded, and Yaz gave her the credit when it was Her who dug herself out of that pit and not anybody else.
Like, genuinely this whole thing sets me off angry. And I could critique the execution if I wanted to but the bottom line is i've not actually seen anything else even go slightly Near where this plot went and I genuinely think it was something that should be said. As I said, a decade later and I still want to throw hands.
So basically like, I get the discomfort, I do, I get not wanting to see it as well, but Yaz grew OUT of this. Not the other way around. Portrayal is not endorsement. I do not personally find this era difficult to parse but people seem either unwilling or unable to do so on literally every theme addressed in it, but I am just back to being that 17yo in an english lit class being taught how to examine things through the vehicle of anti-war stories, ones that people are actually nowadays mad at for glorifying war just because they portray it when this couldn't be farther from the truth, and I cannot help but relate the situations a bit.
I mean, I don't think it's a 10/10 and I would tweak, but I am aware you won't be finding anything as bold as blatant acab on dw in this geopolitical climate and since that's endemic literally everywhere i'm not gonna single out This show for it when at least its trying (watching classic who and the things they just openly say and portray is soooooo eye opening. TV of the 21st century has no spine in general.) But the portrayal of something does not imply that said thing is positive. If real cops ditching the badge on principle is a good thing that we want to continue, I fail to see how fake ones portraying that said same thing is bad.

i’m literally gonna cry at how different lilia treated malleus and silver respectively 😭 even though i know it’s inevitable that lilia is a little more strict to malleus due to his future status as king, it still hurts so bad knowing how silver got the “fun dad” lilia 🫠 i love diasomnia so much and i absolutely adore reading your analysis of them!!
Hello Anonie🌺🌷💕,
YES! YOU GET ME ANONIE YOU GET ME.
The more I think about the dynamics of diasomnia the more I get hit in the feels, especially now that we see the inner workings of the four.
When you think about all that Malleus went through and all the expectations and how he just wanted a home and a family, it really breaks your heart. You know???
then you think about his relationship with Lilia and Silver and there is so much to just unpack. So much potential, especially as the story is unfolding and we learn more and more.
Thank you! 💕💚🌺 I'm so happy that you love my analyses of them. It really makes me so happy 🥹🥹🥹💚💚💜💜💜💕💕💕💕
(UTC as I talk more about diasomnia dynamics and rant a bit)
I really loved this post where I talked about the sibling dynamics with Malleus and Silver. Because I really do believe that Malleus was the older brother who got all the expectations on him and then as time went on, Lilia learned for the better (with the help of Malleus and the Zigvolts and some observation skills) and changed his way of teaching/parenting with Silver and Sebek. (not to say they didn't go through hell themselves because Lilia kept getting ideas from FMA)
Another reason why I have been so crazy about Diasomnia family is because I have been seeing this weird view??? Where people are stating that Malleus is not seen as Lilia's son and only Silver is????
Which I don't agree with at all. Both Silver and Malleus is precious to Lilia and vice versa so I don't see why I have been seeing they weird view of it.
I talked to a few friends about it and I think it mostly stems from people hating that Malleus OB'd and put everyone to sleep. Which is always a pattern I always see before they find out the backstory and then accept the character. (Also, there are some malleus haters out there and will say anything to make him look bad but I digress)
I really see no reason for there to be competition between Malleus and Silver in loving Lilia and he them.
As mentioned by @/curuxavermella in the same post I linked above
Tumblr media
These are more instances that you can see Lilia care and love him.
It is also shown how Malleus also commented on them having to help Lilia parent Silver.
Hence, the whole Older sibling helping raise the younger siblings and how parents change in teaching style as they grow and learn.
I know people also like to mention how Lilia could be more of an uncle since Lilia grew up with Malenoa.
Which, while that may be the case, I dont think it describes enough the deep bond the three share. Uncles can also be seen as a father figure, you know?
Sleeping Beauty is about true love, and with the live action movie, it is about parental/platonic love too.
Then there's the fact that true love is needed to hatch the egg and Lilia might have been the one to give it the magic and love it needed to do so.
I really want to see this platonic love between all four.
We have seen it between Malleus and Silver, Silver and Sebek, Silver and Lilia, Sebek and Malleus, Malleus and Silver, and Malleus and Lilia.
I want it to be more expressed on Lilia's end. I want them to all hug.
I want lilia to acknowledge he has two sons and those sons to acknowledge their father figure openly.
I want Lilia to yell at them both about how much he loves them.
OH and can we talk about SEBEK????
THIS PRECIOUS CHILD who realizes that he has everything he could wish for and his dream was for others to be happy? For his childhood friend to be happy????
SEBEK deserves the world.
thank you again for sending this in Anonie 💕💚🌺💚🌺 As you can see, I became very passionate again ☺️☺️💚💚💚
Please feel free to send me more asks if you want to talk more about diasomnia family feels or about the different dynamics. I am always down to chat ☺️🥰💚

DAY 14: DANGANTOBER
Tumblr media
(This is how I hope you guys react when you see me make another long post lol)
Day 14: Favorite Ultimate Talent
I don't know what I'm supposed to do about this one. Do I pick a favorite out of the ones that currently exist, nerd out and pick an obscure one from a light novel that 90% of the fanbase hasn't read, or do I come up with one for myself?
If I was an Ultimate, I'd be the Ultimate Yapper/j. For real though, I'd be one of two things, the Ultimate Filmmaker or the Ultimate Theorist. My career goal is to become a filmmaker, running my own movie studio and creating amazing movies for everyone of all ages. Bring back well-thought out movies that are so rare to come by nowadays. If I was a filmmaker however, I'd be a bit of a fraudulent one, since I haven't made any movies. I've written them, storyboarded them, etc. but they are not yet filmed.
Kaito hasn't gone to space yet, and I have yet to make a movie.
On the other hand, I've been told that I'd be the Ultimate Theorist. This is because in my off-time, I'm one of those kinds of people who make fan theories about certain shows and movies I like. I'd talk about one of them, but I fear it'd link back to me pretty quickly lmao. With that theory, I had a lot of people in that fanbase believing it, and it really took off. I actually gave this ultimate to my Danganronpa OC, he's the Ultimate Theorist, though his theories are largely more academic than mine.
Tumblr media
This is him, for real.
This is probably also how I look to my friends and you lovely folks whenever I post long character analyses.
In terms of Ultimate that I'd want, I pick the unnamed Ultimate Make-Up Artist from Danganronpa: Gaiden! According to the wiki, the Ultimate Make-Up Artist is someone whose medium is the human body, applying makeup and prosthetics for theatrical, television, filmmaking, fashion, magazines, and other similar productions. That'd be so cool, and based on the description, I assume they're lumping in SFX makeup into this ultimate.
If you can do SFX makeup, you are one of the coolest people ever imo.
I also think Yasuke Matsuda's ultimate, Ultimate Neurologist, is pretty cool. The field of neuroscience is such a difficult one, you have to understand the human brain, and our brains are already very iffy and strange. Then you have to know how to apply that in a scientific and usually medical sense. Anyone with this ultimate is incredibly smart, and likely dedicated to their work to achieve that while still in high school.
Finally, an Ultimate that appears in-game that I'd want, is the Ultimate Cook. Yes, Teruteru is Teruteru, and I've already mentioned in a previous post that a lot of the food-related ultimates use underhanded means to make their food so beloved. But I've always wanted to learn how to cook.
You see, I'm one of those people who grew up as a "gifted kid". As such, I have been conditioned to believe that everything should come easy to me, and if it doesn't, then I suck and shall never try again. It's a bad mindset, but if you have it, you know its one that's hard to break out of because its so engrained within you. I work on it everyday, but I still catch myself feeling dejected when I'm not immediately amazing at everything I try.
I want to learn how to cook, I'm just scared that I'll try and not be good at it, and then I'll want to give up. It's something I'm trying to work through, picking new recipes to try every week, watching tutorials, Gordon Ramsey clips, Binging with Babish, and all the other cooking YouTube channels. I have like, forty cookbooks being delivered to me soon. I'm an adult, I need to have this skill.
I took a Culinary class a few months ago, and it was actually very nice and therapeutic for me. Despite the constant noise of the kitchen, everything was so soothing to me. Measuring, mixing, mincing, frying, frosting, it was heavenly. I'd only messed up my food three time, and two of those weren't my fault, but my teammate's. I'm still salty about the chocolate chip cookie incidents.
We had made chocolate chip cookies twice. Both times, my group was the only one to mess up. Both times, it wasn't my fault. The first time, the girl who was leading everyone didn't measure enough flour because she was too busy talking to her boyfriend, and the cookies were inedible. I had to scrape them off the baking sheet while her friends gave the rest of my group cookies. The second time, the other girl leading my group didn't put in enough of one ingredient, I think it was butter or sugar, and they came out rock hard and more akin to protein bars. Third time was my fault, I didn't know when to take the food off the stove and it burned.
But since then, I've successfully made beignets, spaghetti and meatballs, hamburgers, chicken mole, and so many more dishes. If I was the Ultimate Chef, you could bet good money on me making three course meals, I'd be so dramatic with it too. Adding garnishes and those pretentious dots on the plate like in The Menu. Ugh, it'd be so fun.

Sorry, today's rant is shorter, but I'll be posting more today as well.

Hi! I did take your advice and I’ve been scrolling through the tags for the passenger. I feel so dumb. 😭 I was like “there was gay subtext?” 🧍‍♀️I’m usually so quick to notice it. Now that I’ve read some analysis’s and people breaking things down I’m starting to get it! Both Randy and Benson are on different scales of growing up with trauma. It’s definitely having me see Benson in a kinder light (bc I’ll admit I wasn’t sure how to feel about him I’ll be fr). But I’m definitely just going to have to sit down and rewatch. Because some stuff definitely went over my head the first time around. But once again thank you Roo!! 🙌
Welcome back from analyses reading, I hope it was an emotional rollercoaster LMFAOO
Don't get me and the fandom started on the gay subtext- Kyle Gallner (Benson's actor) even mentions how as he played Benson, he and every on set was discovering Benson's sexuality, which I think was wonderful. Also Kyle told Carter (Director) that he wanted Benson and Randy to kiss (obv didnt happen.... sigh...), so if that tells you anything abt benson then there you go IAUHSGD
And yes! You get it! They grew up with very different trauma and handle their trauma very differently, and it really shows in their character (ESPECIALLY Benson, notably the scene before they enter the school)- there's one analysis which talks about how Benson's trauma is so bad (hinted toward, if not basically canon that it's SA as a kid, hence why Benson loathes Sheppard sm), that he thinks the 2nd Grade incident is like, BAD bad (similar level to his) and when Randy says it was him taking his teachers eye out, Benson kinda felt this relief? I can't remember word-for-word the analysis but he basically takes Randy's trauma a little less serious bc it's not as bad as his
But Have fun with your eventual rewatch!! I know everytime i rewatch it something new strikes my brain (fast forward to me learning 20 new things on my fourth/fifth rewatch AISHXGD)
Also- I'm SOO happy you enjoy this movie btw cuz anytime someone says they wanna watch this movie, there's always a part of me that's worried i hype the movie up a lil too much (which i prolly do SOMETIMES,,, and im also a very emotional person but WHATEVERR!!!) and the person who watched it just comes back and fucking stones me for putting it on such a pedestal ISUGFD But of course (as always)!!
okay- last thing but- If you wanna read some stuff about Benson from Kyle, I'll leave some snippets from a couple interviews under the cut for you to read!! They're very interesting and fun to read :3

thursday - friday
going to try and sleep early today...
went out to the whole thing at my gf's school, it was nice, no drama, got to talk to the guy who is directing the movie i did music for, he said basically the edits are taking a while, is all, so i've not missed anything, he seems a little frustrated about the edit but also, you know, he's understanding, and it'll probably chill out soon.
today i saw an odd conversation in a server, mostly about hating men, but also a kind of attempt at like, idk basically this girl was advocating for a return to political lesbianism, is the easiest way to put it, like, oh you're so tired of men, get with a girl. you say you can't control your attractions? yes you can. that kind of thing. she went on to say that she hates people who complain about their problems without taking action, action in this case being never fucking men again. which is i guess a solution. really though i'm struck by what feels like a kind of misogyny you see directed at women frequently where it's like, you're not rational enough, simultaneously putting women forth as a morally superior class despite the fact that there's lots of things one could say about like, some lesbians basically objectifying women along similar lines. i know it's not really the same as when the dominant force in society does so (men / patriarchy) however it's not something you can ignore, on top of terf-lesbian stuff. i don't know, it had me thinking about the kinds of man-hating that feel almost inchoate, and that result in no kind of actionable politics or perspective, it's just a vantage to judge others from and at the bottom of this one was a condemnation of women who do decide they really like men, and keeping falling in love, and getting hurt, and some kind of irritation that people have the gall to be upset about getting hurt, which i keep thinking about and getting, not irked by, i just keep thinking about it, and feel depressed, it's not like there's any good answer to any of this, reading it, i couldn't figure out if there was anything to even say, i said nothing, even now, you know, i wonder if i'm just being stupid. but it fucks me up when people try to be feminists and end up with these rather bad analyses, men are awful, absolutely, so what about them has to change, what is the patriarchy exactly, it remains vague, while the thing expanded in that discussion was the sexual politics and experience of women, maybe it's not worth saying that lots of men find themselves entitled to the bodies of others, think they can buy anything, possession being easy for them, among other things, you know, that they can use violence when they please, that they work hard and are owed so much, beyond sex, beyond love, the division of labor in the world broadly, the abuse suffered by women because men refuse to acknowledge keeping a place clean, keeping oneself 'presentable', living beneath that standard, as labor, maybe no one needs to say all that, but idk, that feels like the better focus, knowing men are awful, and then moving onto like, acting as if harm reduction would be just trying to change one's sexuality, does that make sense even? i don't know. it bothers me, if i think about my mom's situation, where i don't hate my stepdad so much anymore, but she is trapped by him, financially, and he keeps her inside because of covid now, forever, basically, or it feels that way, and he became the executor of my grandmother's estate, keeping any property and money out of her reach, most of it, i guess, she got a pittance, it seems, you know that's not like because he is ontologically evil, it's this agglutination of factors, and they aren't even all personal, it's common among men to feel owed, to feel they do so much, because they are told they are, to be coddled by their mothers and for that coddling to result in certain patterns, again, of entitlement to family and niceness, it's really nightmarish and complicated in that it spans history and is so broad it hits so many lives. i guess i get stuck on that, and get bothered by anything that feels reductive, and makes it easy to discount being frustrated with men, it feels like the perspective i saw would like, condemn my mother basically, because she'd find my mom stupid for making this problem for herself, which is something i've heard deeply reactionary women say, why is she so dependent on that man, blah blah blah. it's sickening!!!
the world made her dependent by keeping her poor, by the only work available to a single mother being working in a bar, trying to go to college off the support of her mother, she wanted to do crimescene photography, and in her courses she met my stepfather, who seemed dependable, but the fact he would need to appear so, the fact that this is what men project to appear deserving of ownership, these are the stakes of courtship at some older ages, and when you have a kid, where you need something to help you survive, and you live in a world where you're told, this is how you survive, it's not indoctrination, it's not simply brainwashing, it's forced into being a material truth, this is the structure through which society propagates itself, it's nothing simple, it's as hellish and calculated as city planning. on the other side, the 'use' of the woman always exists as some vague set of factors, and each body made capable of those standard acts (cleaning, cooking, sucking, birthing, fucking, etc.) one is able to be like, my type is (x), seek that, a kind of standardization of what anyone could be in material actions and properties of existing, this insane flattening, a 'dark continent' conquered by a kind of consumer bliss. i dunno. she started the conversation talking about how heterosexuality is a kind of capitalist thing for women, she said it's "like forsaking your wellbeing for dick and babies is like starting a company that fucks over its employees so the ceo makes money," and like i suppose the woman in this metaphor is not the ceo, just some worker electing (important framing!!) to fuck herself over, which really does make this more punitive to women or more about seeing them as stupid when there's some sort of obvious answer before them. weird thing. i guess i at least feel more certain this is rather badly thought out. maybe i'm also not thinking it out right either but it's like one of the most freakish things we're living with, that we have been living with.
i guess all i can say is 'oh well', for now at least. nothing definite.
here are selfies from today... it's so stupid looking how these always come after me talking about some serious thing, but it feels right i guess, to wound myself w/ my stupid vanity, i shouldn't be taken so seriously i guess. well, not like very many people take me any way anyhow:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i liked this outfit a lot, i had to walk to the school and it was rather comfortable for that walk. i also like that doily dress thing i never get to wear it, it's kind of got a 20's feel to it, i really like it. i also tried to make my eyeliner look kind of silent film-y, it's hard to see in the photos though. oh well. i also am really happy with a gift my gf got me, this glossier lip balm/tint, it's just really nice, it lasts forever, tints your lips a little red but in a super transparent way, it's hard to even notice, it just looks very good.
looking at announcements at this video game award business... i'm never gonna play half of this, or like 90%... but a game set in taisho japan... that's awesome to me i'm interested to see more of that. i just said to my gf about how exciting that seems, and then asked where our showa era japanese soldier war crime game is... i really think that would be good, some kind of suehiro maruo-ish reflection on the nightmare that was japanese imperialism and their nationalist tendencies and all the reactionaries still out there. i know that's impossible but it seems like it could be really good. maybe that's evil of me to think... i dunno... it's sad that so much left wing art in japan is suppressed, there are people there now with the energy to make things that really try and contend with their history, or some kind of pulsion to make art over there which isn't as escapist as what you typically see...
this new elden ring thing seems like they're making an earth defense force game, that's cute, people seem mad about it but it also seems like everyone knows they're working on something else... maybe they will finally make a survival horror game...
they put centipede demon in here?? wow... i hope he's as unreadable as he was in ds1 and everyone hates him... i hope they put ceaseless in too... i hope some parts of the game turn into lost izalith actually... lost izalith roguelike... could be groundbreaking.
it's actually super funny that #gamers are mad, this is such a silly thing and it feels so in line with like, stuff people like to play in japan, it has monhun stuff and it's this power fantasy take on something generally hard, if it's cheap it shouldn't really bother anyone so much, and if it's not cheap it probably won't sell that well. it's at least a multiplayer game that isn't super super ugly. like fortnite is so ugly.
ultimately nothing i really care about except this new game from ueda was announced though, that's really nice, i was wondering if he was ever gonna do anything ever again. i need to finish ico i really liked playing it, when i was. very very pretty game.
had a very insane experience in the hellp discord vc... these teenagers today seem insane... two guys started really talking about race science like for real weird european race science, tons of insane woman hating, all this stuff, i know it's always gonna exist in america but it's crazy crazy crazy, they're talking like measurehead from disco elysium, and they're like kids, i was just sitting there silent, i like blasted them with noise, but i think they muted me quickly.
now i need to sleep, thinking about kids who willingly call themselves "chuds"... oh i recorded vox today too... win some lose some i suppose, sometimes you accomplish something and then encounter self described chuds who complain about nu-chuds created via tik tok, and talk about if slavs are actually european or not... #mental.
so,
byebye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is...an interesting perspective. first off, at the beginning, you were talking about justification being delusional, and by the end you're saying making a point is okay (although you did call people who make points about villains broken clocks which is. wild), but ignoring all wrongdoings is weird, so it's not exactly clear what you have a problem with. i'll just start with justification.
trying to justify villains isn't 'delusional', it's something actual scholars do all the time (if you don't believe me, look up some articles about the macbeths). it's a really good way to study how certain situations can produce actual bad people, kinda like how we can track all the circumstances that led to hitler's rise (i'm not comparing any of these villains to hitler, just trying to illustrate a point), or how we can use media to study why a person might be egregiously racist, such as in to kill a mockingbird and go set a watchmen. there are a bunch of academic disciplines devoted to these kinds of studies, actually (criminology, the study of serial killers, there are college lit classes you can take that are all about villains). the reason scholars would do this is to prevent bad things from happening in real life or just to discuss bad things. for example, have you ever heard of the movie john q? it's about a guy whose son needs a heart transplant, but insurance stops covering the kid's hospital stay, and they're about to pull the plug on the kid (who is still awake btw, just needs a new heart). the dad takes the hospital hostage. would you call him a villain? would you call the people who justified his actions 'delusional'? that movie and the people who justified him revolutionized health care in the US (if you can believe it, was worse before the movie came out). literary scholars, sociologists, and psychologists do these villain analyses (and analyses on real people) all the time, and calling random strangers online 'delusional,' 'weird,' and 'broken clocks' for it isn't just rude, it's straight up wrong. yes, even the ones who want to ignore all their wrongdoings.
i haven't read shadow and bone or the ballad of songbirds and snakes, but i gotta say, luke is probably one of the worst examples you could've used for this point. he is an amazing example of why you should always try and justify villains. (side note: justify doesn't mean agree with or prove that they were right; it means figuring out why they did what they did and why that reasoning has merit) luke was a victim of an oppressive system that put him, his mother, his siblings, and all the other demigods on the bottom of whatever hierarchy olympus had. he watched his friends and family be killed and maimed, and then pushed aside or forgotten about as their own parents acted like they didn't matter or were replaceable. i'd think with the recent strikes, upticks in hate crimes, and genocides, you might realize why this perspective matters, especially since by the end of the series, most of the main characters have come to realize that they at least partially agree with luke, if not his methods, not to mention the large following of demigods he accrued throughout the books because so many demigods felt ignored and wronged by their own parents. this is a direct mirror of how minorities get left behind by governments over and over again, and it opens up avenues for people to talk about how and why that happens both in the book and real life, and it is not 'delusional' or 'weird' for people to want to do that. in fact, most authors want you to use their books for this. ever heard of the jungle by upton sinclair? people talked about the villains (the meat packing industry) in that book so much we got the FDA and USDA. some authors even base their villains (or main characters) off of real life bad people like in dracula and game of thrones. animal farm is a chilling example of how people (or animals) just like luke have been wronged by their leaders and turn into the bad guy by trying to do what's right for their people, and that was based on real life events. would you tell people not to try and justify the pigs in animal farm for overthrowing the human farmer? if you would, that's gonna be a big fight because people have been doing that since the book came out in 1945. animal farm even takes it a step further and shows how these types of villains get corrupted by power and turn into the thing they were trying to stop. luke even literally turns into the main bad guy when he is possessed by kronos. the symbolism could not have been more clear.
as for the infantilization, maybe people do that to luke (and you called him a man. he never made it past 24. he left camp at 19. he first met kronos at 14. i would not call that a man) because he was corrupted by kronos and his horrible circumstances at 14. maybe it's to give him the childhood he never had. i don't know. but i do know it is incredibly rash to write off anything positive you've seen about him as 'weird' and 'delusional.'
You villain lovers are really odd. Like I love me a good villain but I’m not delusional enough to ever try and justify the things that they’ve done. I’ve seen it with PJO, Shadow and Bone, and now The Hunter Games. Like why are ppl out here saying that Snow was never the villain and that the actual villain was Lucy??? What is y’all’s problem? Just say you think Snow is pretty and keep it pushing. The same thing with The Darkling. I’m not even apart of this fandom and the weird stuff I’ve seen makes me never want to be apart of it. Luke defenders really get on my nerves. They will argue down with you that that man isn’t a creep and an idiot. I just really need all of y’all to get some sense cuz y’all really be sounding just as weird sometimes.

I swear this album is so Milex-coded. Gonna put my fangirl glasses on and look for shipping clues :DD
i think this ask has been in my inbox ever since they dropped the album and i'm so sorry for being so late, i'm bad at being a tumblrina 😔
but YEAH can we actually talk about that?
obviously this is just speculation and theories and bla bla bla we know that + alex's lyricism is so nuanced and full of multi-faceted meanings, and we will never have confirmation on what most of his lyrics actually mean... and i love that, i love that he's always let everyone have their own interpretation(s) of his songs without imposing a single one.
now, i do think most of this album is centered on self-reflection. it's very very very personal and introspective, and what i get from most of the lyrics is him reflecting on his present situation (private life, work life, any aspect of his life really) by using two main elements as his devices to do it:
1) obscure references (the first ones that come to mind are "the simulation cartridge for city life '09", "they shot it all in cinemascope", "lego napoleon movie", "richard of york, the executive branch")
2) even more obscure memories from his past, and especially his childhood (which is particularly clear in the title track itself)
but right along all that self-reflection and addressing himself we also find instances of him clearly addressing someone else. sometimes it's particularly tricky to understand *when* exactly he's talking to himself or that other person. as i already said in other analysis posts, i think sometimes he mixes the 1st and 2nd person pronouns voluntarily, using 'you' not only to refer to his interlocutor but also to himself. that's what makes songs such as mirrorball and body paint so complicated to analyse (ESPECIALLY mirrorball. i'm still so conflicted on my interpretation of it) (+ ever since the album dropped my interpretations of body paint and also mr schwartz changed a bit too. but that's another story)
i think overall most of the songs on this album are not that easily interpreted through a romantic lens. i'd say the one that falls the most into the (very very broad) category of """""love songs""""" is mirrorball - and even then, it'd be a breakup song AND most of it could also still be interpreted as self-reflection. again, multiple interpretations.
there are also some lyrics that could easily pass as...... him throwing shade? lmao some passages in sculptures + hello you really give off that vibe.
getting back to the point of this ask.... yes, i have spent an embarrassing amount of time reading the lyrics over and over again and i do have my crazy little milex theories about them!!!
but what i really love about this way of interpreting the album is the fact that to me, its queerness doesn't necessarily come from it being about a certain person. what makes it so relatable to some aspects of queerness is, again, how self-reflective it is. so many lyrics could be interpreted as him struggling with *his* queerness and expressing that struggle through looking at the past, addressing himself as well as an (imaginary) interlocutor and just finding himself coming back to the same recurrent themes over and over again. ESPECIALLY - and that's what really fucking gets me - the whole mask/façade/persona situation, seasoned with a whole lot of regret and self-deprecation, which is especially clear in body paint (!!!!!!), mr schwartz, big ideas (i feel like as a fandom we don't talk about "the ballad of what could've been" enough. can we actually sit down and THINK about that for a second. such a fucking important line. he was so fucking insane for that) and perfect sense (about which i have a very specific interpretation and is2g don't even touch me that song makes me too emotional it's literally one of the most perfect songs i've ever heard i'm not even joking)
so yeah, some (many) lyrics could be directed at miles (never say never, you know?) but what i really love about the possibility of this album having queer connotations is that it doesn't look for its own queerness from the outside, from a hypothetical (ex-)lover, but rather from alex's own psyche and emotions. its queerness comes from within. from self-reflection and (perhaps unwanted) realizations. from having to hide and keeping a mask on to not be found out. from the inner battle between denial and acceptance.
and then there are a million other unrelated meanings that blend together with the possible queer ones and create such an elaborate set of layers that just makes it so interesting to analyse it!!! and that's the whole point of critical analysis and what makes it so cool!!! having possible multiple interpretations that can coexist with each other!!! i just!!! love that!!! so much!!!
