Hongjoong
Be afraid
^ When you’re bad (most of the time, u little shit)
Hard!Dom, strictest of the members
Brat tamer 100000% but doesn't want to be
Genuinely gets angry when you’re a brat, would prefer if you’d just listen to him
Punishments are meant to break you emotionally
Worst of all the members in that regard tbh
Will deny you things rather than physical discipline ~ praise, orgasms, affection
Wants you desperate and needy, it gives him control over you
Can forget to give you praise at times, does not get angry if you ask/remind him
“Ah, sorry. I’ve been busy, baby. Yes, I’m proud of you for going out today, I know you’ve been struggling recently. Did you eat at that cafe you liked? Did you remember to use my card? Why not? That's what it's for, love."
Blows money on you
Cannot stop buying you pretty things, especially clothes
Makes you try on the things he's purchased for you - usually ends with you getting fucked in whatever you had on last
Wants you to wear nice things when you go out to fancy dinners
Not very physically affectionate but will be if you need him to be
Will not punish you for being insecure, just wants to reassure you and make you feel beautiful
Sex is either quick and dirty or long and passionate
Fav positions are standing or missionary with your legs over his shoulders
Shower sex >>>
He's so damn busy there's not much other choice
Looks so fucking hot when he's got you pinned to the tile wall
Biting/marking - he loves to use his teeth on you
Don't you dare bite him back
Likes foreplay but prefers sex, is good at eating you out but would rather use his cock than his tongue
Is good at aftercare, though it's more of a standard, doesn't like pillow talk unless you need it
Will still make sure you're safe/comfy/loved and will do anything for you
Is rough, but can turn it off when he knows you need a softer side.
Seonghwa
Soft!dom
Gentle until he isn't
Strict, but not the strictest
Does not enjoy punishments as much as the others, but still wants to make sure you know your place
Does not understand the concept of being a brat, you're so good for him
"What do you mean no? Like no...what? I just asked you to come here, silly."
Rarely has to punish you anyway, he doesn’t have many rules
You break the rules on purpose sometimes
He’ll punish you harder if he thinks that’s the case vs you accidentally breaking a rule
Very snuggly
Will want you to just sit with him while he works with his legos
Loves to be held by you
Asks you for compliments
“Do you like this color on me?”
Will not scold you in public
Expect gentle touches and verbal correction
Hates seeing you cry, even if it's from an intense orgasm
Obsessed with aftercare
Will shower you with praise and tell you how well you did
"I'm sorry baby, I was rough today. Took me so well though, so pretty. Love it when you get on your back for me. Want me to wash your hair?"
Likes taking care of you in general, will mother you like his members (but worse)
"Why didn't you eat today?! C'mon, let's go to that noodle shop you like."
Sex is not super kinky but is almost always emotional
Pretty straightforward, wants you both to feel good and snuggle after
Likes getting head and giving head, but prefers sex over foreplay
Fav positions are spooning and intimate spaces like in a comfy chair with you in his lap
Soft kisses + him stroking your hair + thanking you for always being his good girl
Yunho
Cocky and playful
Neither soft nor hard, just likes to keep you guessing
Is silly unless he's in a bad mood
Likes to make you sit in his lap while he games
You like it too, he knows it
Will get pouty if you don't praise his efforts
Don't tease him while he plays
Fr don't
If you value your cervix, you will not tease this man when he's not in the mood for sex
"What's wrong, baby? You were whining for my attention, now you're whining that it doesn't fit? That's a fucking lie."
Size kink
Likes feeling bigger/taller/stronger than you
Expect to be teased over this, even if you're not that short
Loves taking selfies with you
A big puppy
Can be a big scary puppy
Doesn't scold you in public
Likes it when you know you're in trouble
Sweetheart but will do a 180
When he's stressed or in a bad mood he can be too rough
Sometimes it's hard to tell when it's okay to be silly and not
He will let you know
Breeding kink at its finest
Size kink + breeding kink = RIP ur ability to walk
"I know it's deep baby, shh...almost there..."
Likes making you beg
Loves to degrade you and then praise you in the same breath
Talks you through it
Very sweet, silly aftercare
Sex is not complete until you're a giggling, sleepy mess in his arms
Fav position is anything where he can manhandle you beneath him
Yeosang
Quiet dom
But not soft
Very strict but is not loud about it
Perfect brat tamer, but isn't one (you can't rile him up—most intuitive of the members and rarely rises to the occasion)
Most of his dominant side is only seen when you're alone
Does not scold you in public
Expects you to follow the rules and does not remind you
Goes straight to punishment
You cannot catch him off guard
Knows your moods before you do
Terrifyingly calm
"Is that how we're acting today? Okay."
Likes to edge you
Loves when you orgasm as soon as his cock goes in due to overstimulation
^ will continue fucking you anyway
Thinks you're prettiest when you're crying
"That good, huh? You're blushing baby...such pretty tears."
Fucks you sitting up, likes it when you cling to him and wants to feel your tears on his shoulders
Eye contact >>>
So fucking calm it's scary, truly
Like imagine you've fucked up in public and you know it, this mf just gives you the gentlest of smiles
He likes you anxious
Sex is deceptively rough
You would not expect it but he likes it to hurt
He wants you to fight back
That grip strength is not to be taken lightly
Fav position is missionary or in a car with you in his lap
Aftercare is pretty strict, he has a routine
Bathroom, water, bed, letting him hold you
Prioritizes you afterwards since he knows he can be rough
Wants you to tell him about your day as though he didn't just rail you into next tuesday
San
Very traditional dom vibes
Does not hold back on punishments like hwa
Expect an equal amount of praise and correction, heavily values both
Big on body worship, either you on him or vice versa
Will want you to kiss his chest and shoulders and remind him how safe he makes you feel
Protective, but not possessive
Best dom for daddy issues
Will tell you he's proud of you but fuck you into the mattress a few minutes later
^ while still telling you he's proud of you
Most fair punishments, typically physical but not cruel
Spankings, being made to take it on the floor, being tied down, etc etc
Loooooves tying you up
Huge on boundaries and safewords
All the members are but San prefers constant check ins
"How are we, baby? Can you still take it? Use your words, pretty girl."
Sex lasts a loooooong time from foreplay to aftercare
Like, expect to spend an entire evening in the bedroom
Only because he loves to warm you up beforehand with a few orgasms
Loves it when you orgasm
Edging is not necessary, he wants you to have as many as possible until you're overstimulated
Follows your lead during aftercare, whatever you need
"Did so good for me. What do you need from me, baby? A massage? I can do that. Love you so much. Did so well tonight."
Will let you sit in his lap while he works
Likes it when you tease him, but won't punish you right away
Makes you wait for it
"Hi baby. Remember what you did earlier? Let's figure out how to make you say sorry without words."
Fav positions are you in his lap or lying on the counter/table
Mingi
BRAT TAMER
and loves it
Will encourage you to act out just so he can punish you
Literally begging for a reason
"Please baby. Tell me no one more fucking time. The kitchen table is right there and I'm hard as fuck."
Mean and you love it
Is going to bend you over any surface when you give him the slightest inclination that you're about to act up
Effortlessly attractive, actually unfair
Genuinely does not know how wet you are simply because he's pinning you down
Lives for his own pleasure and you're along for the ride
DO NOT think he doesn't care about you getting off tho—
—and do not let that man's mouth near your pussy if you know what's good for your health
Addicted to eating you out
Mingi demands few things of you as his sub, but allowing him to ravish your pussy is a requirement
You WILL sit on his face and you WILL cry and he WILL hold your hips so you can't squirm away while he sucks your clit and makes you cum for the third time
Uses it as both a reward and punishment
That overstimulation will have you in tears
He does not care
Sex lasts a little longer than average simply because you have to pry him off of you
Impatient when it comes to you and your attitude
Punishment is always physical
Loves to spank you for misbehaving
Not the kinkiest but probably the most hypersexual of the members
LOUD sex
Aftercare is not really organized but still very involved. Expect kisses, a very clingy man, and cuddling
Loves you with your clothes on too
Can forget to give you praise, but shows you he's proud in his own ways
"You made this? Holy shit, it's amazing. My baby can cook??"
Kissing the top of your head, just because he can >>>>
Does not scold you in public—probably has not realized you've done something that warrants scolding
Is possessive and VERY jealous
Like Hongjoong, he knows when to turn it off if you need him to be gentle with you
Wooyoung
A fucking? brat dom?
Will ignore you for attention
You can't outbrat the brat
Big on silent treatment as long as he thinks you can emotionally handle it
Very touchy feely, likes grabbing you and holding you against him
Has a range of looks to give you to tell you when you've fucked up
Hates when other men stare at you, will absolutely stare back
Loves PDA the most out of the members
Does not care if you're in public, will scold you when needed
Will also tease you just to see you squirm
Is not above things like vibrating panties when you've been acting up
Loves to use his hands during punishment or praise
Expect handprints on your ass
May as well get them tattooed on there tbh
Whiny when he wants your attention
Can sometimes be too much
"Are you okay? Was that too hard?"
Likes to make you cry
Enjoys pissing you off since you can't do anything about it
Imagine getting fucked daily by your biggest opp
"Aww, are you mad? Huh? I can tell. Cry me a river while you take this cock, baby."
a menace, tbh
Sex is kinky af
DIRTY TALK mf won't shut up as it is and rambles when he's inside you
"Take it, baby. That's it, just like that. So fucking pretty. You just open those legs when I come near, huh? An obedient little slut when she expects cock."
Not super long sex but can happen multiple times a day
Possessive and jealous
Takes lots of pictures of you
^ Doing anything
"Hold still, I'm taking a pic. Can you tilt your head? Your toothbrush is in the way."
Aftercare is forehead kisses and praise, whining when you have to get up.
Big heart, loves giving you compliments and seeing you shine
Is infinitely proud of you and will not stop telling you so
Likes to do domestic things with you like cooking
Takes you on cute little dates rather than big fancy dinners
Do NOT let him hear you talking bad about yourself
Jongho
Loves being a dom the most
Similar to San, very straightforward, traditional dom
Unlike San, has a cruel streak
Basically a combination of Hongjoong and San
He feels the best when he spoils you
Wants you to buy anything you want
Obsessed with you fr
Wants to make love to you any time he can
Will pin you down but...romantically??
Master of seduction, likes you warm and ready for him
Takes you to fancy dinners and then fucks you in the car on the way home
Loves having his cock worshipped by you
Can eat pussy but prefers seeing your lips wrapped around him
Calls you good girl more than anything
"Did you take your medicine this morning? Good girl."
Isn't jealous at all
Doesn't have to be, he knows you're his
When he catches other men staring at you he feels proud like "yeah, she's mine."
Extremely physically affectionate but only in private
Gentlemanly in public, his hand is usually at the small of your back
In private he just wants to hold you
Loves picking you up
Will pet your hair and pull you in for kisses while he asks about your day
Loves your hair btw
Like, wrapped around his insane grip while he fucks you from behind
Dirty talk
"That's it, baby. Look so pretty like this. You've been wet all day, huh? Just waiting for me to get home and make it better? How many times did you touch that pussy thinking of me?"
Not super kinky, but sex is still intense
Does like to blindfold you occasionally
Likes it when he comes home from work to find you naked in bed, where you're supposed to be
"Is this for me?" he'll ask, sliding his hand over your bare ass.
Doesn't even get fully undressed before he's inside you, he's only impatient when it comes to you
Breeding kink but AUTHENTIC. Like, wants you pregnant (only when you're ready) will probably find you absolutely irresistible when pregnant
Aftercare is whatever you need but will always include water and cuddles
Very protective of you, scolds you for being clueless at times
"Why the hell did you take an uber? You should've just called me. Who knows what kind of people are out there!"
Will get angry with you but you're literally the gem of his life, he treasures you more than anything

How did Emerald and Shade end up rooming together?
Were they just the two leftover? Otherwise I would have thought that Shade would pick Eight since they‘ve worked together during the metal virus arc.
Is Shade embarrassed that he got turned? Does he feel cringe now? Is he aggressively dodging that 'I told you so'? Is that what this is?
[ Creator Special! ]
Okay: first note! Sorry for the lack of updates the last two days :D I’m working on ironing out a few bits to Paradox and Prisms story and I’ve been a bit busy with life things! In the meantime: behind the scenes!
-
Emerald and Shade ended up together because, yes to all of your reasons.
They were the final ones left and while I did briefly consider putting Eight and Shade together, I decided against it because while Sonic and Shadow don’t hate eachother in IDW, I wouldn’t call them close enough yet to share.
Going to be real, I don’t think Shade and Emerald really talk. They just mutually agree “ok, pillow wall, you get that side I’ll get this one” they sleep, wake up, and leave the tent.
also I loved how you worded this ask it was hilarious: short answer yes
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/ac2ef86390ad907ae8df101ad05f649d/a02c27c88829320c-83/s540x810/b0cd8efe77b2af0bb04ba5ac833b6e576a524e2f.jpg)
Same thing for Eight and Bandi, except Eight is curled up all the way on the far side of the tent and their pillow wall is twice as tall.
I wish I could do a bit more with Eights touch adverseness and show it but he’s been ASLEEP.
Also no one rooming with boost was very mutual with all.
Everyone saw an extra tent and was like “uhh boost you can have that one dude” (he kicks in his sleep)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/27dda725420f791ec12dc675ac29aff5/a02c27c88829320c-6c/s540x810/f5faa533990c3f6c6e5a35b2ebebdefbef35a1e9.jpg)
I will reply DAMN YOU!!!! /lh
But yes!! Don’t worry my friends, I won’t ONLY focus on Paradox and Prism. I will do little mini comics of dynamic development between all the others.
I also want to start doing more Shadow and Shadow and Sonic and Sonic’s interactions. I feel like right now I mostly have Shadows and Sonic’s just interacting with their versions and I’m like?? Make friends guys!!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4d4993daa1045d185ad7a4b4904bc4c6/a02c27c88829320c-91/s540x810/0701de44f983793e9113af57a04051ef68582d1f.jpg)
Okay so the way I’m approaching this:
The only Sonics in the same “timeline” are Classic and Emerald.
While Emerald (and other sonics and shadows) have experienced the same/similar events, doesn’t mean he was there for those versions. That might not make sense idk it’s 1 am.
So like, for SATBK, he does recognize Lancelot, but it’s not the Lancelot he knew.
For our SATBK story, it’s the exact same, except King Arthur and everyone had some weird magic spell cast on them that made them weird, Arthur has memory loss, game events happen, memory back, peace restored! Yay.
So yeah, they could have a good chat about it but still different.

a/n: to whoever that requested this. i am so sorry this took a whole year to even get around to writing this😭 also my photoshopping skills on this banner🤌🏻 but anyways, this isn’t entirely a holiday with ni-ki as i am basing it off what happened when ni-ki went back to his hometown to perform. this is just assuming what happened, obviously fictional so it isn’t real. just imagine people!
BACK HOME

pairing: nishimura riki x fem!reader
genre: fluff; idol!ni-ki + relationship au
warnings: nope
word count: 2.4K words
it’s been years since ni-ki got to come back home to japan. years without his parents, his family. he had to grow up quick at 14. flying in a plane to an unknown territory. just to train for a 8 months and join a survival show. ni-ki was terrified, confused and quite honestly homesick. yet, after actually winning a spot and debuting. nothing could prepare himself to confess to you.
you had met ni-ki at a small secluded ice cream shop. it was a normal ice cream parlour, there were a few people that came and go. nothing could fully prepare you to come face to face with a masked man.
“hi, what flavour would you like? oh and would you like a single scoop or double?” you say the usual line. ni-ki looks up at you to order, in his head, his jaw drops cartoonishly. you were beautiful. he clears his throat, he probably had been standing there for quite a bit.
“can i get two single scoops? one mint choco and the other being cookies and cream.” he says.
“okay. one second.” you had scooped up the ice cream and placed it into the respective cups. “any toppings?”
“oh umm, maybe some…” his eyes scanned the toppings. which he couldn’t really focus on since your gaze was flustering him a lot. “sprinkles?” he says with a slight confusion in his voice.
you giggled a little, “sprinkles it is. on both ice cream?”
“yeah.” you had topped the ice cream with sprinkles and went to type in the order into the register.
“total will be $3.”
“oh? for two?”
“yeah. our prices are the lowest of the lowest here.” you say.
“woah. i should come back here all the time.” he says. he catches himself and he felt his face heat up. “sorry.”
“don’t be. it would be great if you could come back here everyday. maybe even bring your friends?”
“I think I could do that.” ni-ki smiles behind the mask.
and so he did. he came over to see you everyday and even bought ice cream every single time. was he getting sick and tired of ice cream? yes, but he would be able to see you everyday.
"so how was practice? is it fun?" you asked him curiously. he shook his head.
"just tiring. sometimes it's fun but since comeback is around the corner. practice has just been something I wished never came."
you had frowned at his words, "that doesn’t sound too fun. being an idol doesn’t seem as fun as i thought it would be.” ni-ki chuckles.
“it’s fun at times but you definitely need to have a lot of discipline to really become one. discipline and patience.” you hummed at his words.
“well, i don’t think i could become an idol. the girls? urgh too pretty. kinda jealous of them but i’m mainly just in awe by them.”
“you’re pretty too.” ni-ki says. you felt flustered.
“oh, thank you. i’m not all that pretty. you’ve probably come across a prettier girl than me.”
ni-ki does that unthinkable and he softly reaches your hands. “you’re pretty. really pretty. prettier than any of the girls i’ve seen.” your heart races at his words. in some way, you knew this was a confession since you knew that ni-ki was being obvious about having a crush on you. he didn’t bother hiding it because he didn’t find a reason to. besides, nobody besides you knew it was him. this was his little secret.
“is this your way of confessing to me?” you teased him. he laughs.
“and if it is, will you say yes?”
you smiled, “of course.” he squeezes your hand lightly.
“then from today onwards, you’re my girl.” he declares. you laughed.
“yours.”
a year passes by quickly. ni-ki had a concert in okayama. his hometown. there was a small period of break after their concert so ni-ki decided to invite to travel with them. he helps you place your luggage into the compartment above. you smiled. jake nudges ni-ki’s waist to tease him.
“ayyy, who knew our maknae can be so gentleman like.” jake smirks.
“at least i have a girlfriend.” ni-ki argues back. he pulls you closer to him and pecked the side of your head proudly. it was almost funny when jake's smile fell quickly and he looked like a sad puppy.
with that, ni-ki pulls you to your assigned seat (which was next to him). he kisses your knuckles and makes sure you were alright throughout the entire flight. since you’ve never really flown on a plane before, you were terrified but ni-ki assures you constantly. the both of you shared an earpiece and watched movies throughout the flight. when he looks around, all the boys were asleep so he takes his chance to peck your forehead. you stared right at him and he leans to peck your lips. before you could utter a word, ni-ki pulls you into a sweet kiss. one that showcased how much he loved you and you can’t help but feel your heart race quickly.
there was a short bright flash and so you and ni-ki pulled away. ni-ki turns back to see jungwon and sunghoon with their phones out taking a picture of you and ni-ki kissing.
“whoops.” jungwon says. “you two were too cute. we had to take a picture.”
“send me the picture later on.” ni-ki says. jungwon salutes and settles back at his seat continuing to watch the show he had accidentally dozed off on.
[1 hour passes by]
finally, everyone arrived at okayama. everyone goes to grab their bags from the compartment above once the plane lands and parks. you had to unfortunately be separated from the boys for a bit as your they were going get pictures taken by the paparazzis. one of their managers followed you and brought you towards another gate. there was a small group of people holding up a sign in japanese. it had ni-ki’s face plastered on it. you recognised ni-ki’s siblings and so you assumed that was his mom and dad next to them. they were waiting excitedly for ni-ki or were they waiting for you.
the manager approaches them and explains to them in japanese before turning to look at you. “this is ni-ki’s family, they will be accommodating you for the whole time we are here as you know it can be risky if you stayed with the boys.”
you nod. “thank you, manager jin. you don’t have to worry about me conversing with them. i learnt japanese for quite a while now so i think i can do well with chatting with them.”
“alright, i’ll leave you guys. i have to get back to the boys.” the manager leaves quickly. you turned to the ni-ki’s family and bowed.
“umm, hi. i am (name), ni-ki’s girlfriend.” you told them in japanese. ni-ki’s younger sister runs up to you and hugs you.
“you’re so pretty! ni ni really picked a good girl!” you blushed at his younger sister’s words. his older sister comes up to you and pats your back.
“let’s bring you back to our home so you can rest. taking a flight can be draining.” she says. ni-ki’s mom smiles.
“oh yes, dear. we should get back. you need to rest and also eat! let me make some food for you when get back home.”
once you had arrived at the nishimura household, ni-ki decides to facetime you. his face pops up on your screen.
“hi pretty.” ni-ki smiles.
you giddily smiled at him. “hi.”
“I wish you were here with me. kinda sucks we have to be separated.” he huffs and whines a little. you almost giggle at his cute act. surely, his fans would want to see more of this of him. alas, you could only witness this side of him and even bring it out.
“well, I’m not unfamiliar. I’m in your childhood home. which by the way, your mom has tons of albums of ENHYPEN here. your bedroom feels like a relic, it should be kept in a museum.”
“oh, my mom let you stay in my bedroom?” he tilts his head. you nod.
“yeah. oh and bisco is here too! i think your mom mentioned that he runs in here time to time because he misses you.”
“I’m going to cry that’s so cute.” ni-ki lays his head down on the pillow. “I’m so tired.”
“get some much needed rest, you have a concert tomorrow.” he hums at your words.
“I should visit home after the concert and eat there.”
“i think your mom is hoping for that. oh, maybe the boys can come over too?”
“I don’t think there would be enough space in my parents’ home, baby.” ni-ki chuckles a little.
"well, i'm just saying. i'm sure your parents would like to thank the people for taking care of their baby boy." ni-ki snorts.
"alright, i can't argue with you on that. oh, has bisco warmed up to you yet?" he asks. you panned the camera down to bisco wagging his tail and laying right next to you. ni-ki smiles widely.
"my girls."
"bisco is a boy."
"eh? but- right, boy." he clears his throat. "been a while since i've seen him. i think i forgot his gender."
"it's your family dog."
"it's not exactly my dog. it's my parents." ni-ki explains. you laughed.
"okay okay. it's seriously late and you need to sleep your jet lag off. go eat dinner then sleep."
"yes, ma'am." he salutes at you. you playfully rolled your eyes at him. he blows a kiss to the camera and you do the same before ending the facetime.
a knock at ni-ki's childhood bedroom makes you yelp, you looked up at who knocked on the door and it was konon. she smiles and points to the kitchen.
"my mom made some dinner for you before we left. she just heat it up, you should eat up and then go to sleep."
"oh, thank you." you say and konon leaves. you had gone to eat outside, bisco quietly follows you around as you had settled on the couch to eat. he lays his head comfortably on your lap. which was a little surprising considering you weren't someone bisco was familiar with.
after finishing up with dinner, you had cleaned up the plate and gone to sleep. once again, bisco had followed you into ni-ki's childhood room.
the next day, you and ni-ki's family were going over to the stadium. you'd think that you were just going to simply watch the concert but no. right before the concert, just hours before, you were brought backstage. ni-ki hugs you tightly.
"hi baby." he whispers in your ears. you smiled and wrapped your arms around his shoulder.
"hi." you replied. there was a furball following you around. stopping right at your ankles. "oh, bisco." you had picked him up. he doesn't exactly remember ni-ki since after all it's been years and ni-ki was different now then how he was back then at 14.
bisco looks up at ni-ki then looks away. ni-ki pouts and lets bisco smell his hand. maybe he would remember in a way. unfortunately, not at all. "maybe give him some time?" you say. ni-ki sighs.
"yeah, i know. this little furball is such a shit head. love him though." he ruffles the tiny dog before going over to his parents and hugging the both of them.
as time passes, the boys had to start their concert and so you and ni-ki's family had moved over to the designated seats that you guys were generously given. everyone around you (the engenes) were excitedly and patiently waiting for the concert to start. the lights dimmed and the concert starts.
there was a 7 clear silhouettes seen in the dark and everyone starts yelling. the song starts playing and that is truly when the chaos ensues. you were a little shocked by the yelling and screaming since you've never exactly seen this happen all the time. as time passes by, the boys were starting to wind down. they were talking about how fun they had.
"engenes!! thank you for enjoying today's concert. we will be sure to back next year for another concert here in okayama." jungwon says.
ni-ki picks up his mic, "engenes, i'm really thankful for every one of you for making my dream come true. i get to perform in my hometown and in front of my parents. there is something i have to confess though."
the stadium gets a little silent as ni-ki prepares what to say. "this may be controversial to say as an idol in a boy group. many of you might hate me. that is fine. you can't hate on enhypen. i-" he takes a deep breath in. "i have someone that i truly love. she's here and she's watching me perform in front of everyone that i love and care about. it would be great if you could also show her some love. she deserves the world. she managed to bring out the stronger version of myself today."
everyone was cheering. the boys weren't expecting for ni-ki to have revealed his relationship but they were still proud of him. he stood up for himself. they also knew this would impact the way k-pop was in a way. the culture and mindset behind dating.
"thank you engenes, i love you." he shyly showed a heart to the crowd.
after the concert ends, ni-ki's family and you had gone backstage again. you had ran up to ni-ki despite him still sweaty after the concert. he accepts your hug and held you tight.
"you've cause quite the stir, riki." you say as your voice was muffled due to his clothes. he laughs.
"i know but i had to let everyone know i'm madly in love with you." he says. you felt him peck the top of your head.
"what if they bullied you out of the group? you know how they are now with dating scandals." you asked him.
"don't worry, if the company doesn't do anything. i will. i'll kick whatever they send to HYBE and then throw it in the trash."
you laughed a little. "you're so adorable."
"not as adorable as you." he tilts your chin up and little and leans down to peck your lips. "i love you."
"i love you too."

"Inquisitor - I. There has been an attack on Wycome."
Josephine's voice is soft, careful.
A pause. The moment stretches. Josephine grips the letter she holds.
"I am sorry, it was...they killed most of the elves within. And your entire clan."
Saethre Lavellan looks at Josephine's sweet and sad face and sees the words fall from her lips like clotted blood. They hit the floor, creeping toward her, crawling up her legs, seeking a way in.
Cullen, Leliana, and Cassandra stare at her, their faces sombre. Apologies sit heavy in their silence.
Yes, Inquisitor, we will draw the horses immediately.
Yes, Inquisitor, we will notify the others of your departure.
No, Inquisitor, we insist on accompanying you.
"And will you stop my hand when I cut the throats of every human who did this?"
The words do not leave her mouth, but they burn in her eyes.
They look away.
Solas finds her afterward on the ramparts. She does not run to him, does not seek his comfort as he approaches.
"Stop."
He does. There is a knife in her voice, and he feels the edge of it.
"Do not give me words of understanding. Do not placate me with poetic explanations of the inevitabilities of war." Her breath is unsteady. "I want judgment. Tell me what I should have done. Tell me how I failed."
Solas regards her a long moment. When he finally speaks, his voice is quiet.
"You wish for condemnation?" His words are deliberate. "For me to lash you with the failures you already carry like stones in your heart?"
Saethre feels his voice more than she hears it. It settles into her bones like something old and aching.
"You believe judgment will ease this weight you carry." He watches her, as he draws closer. "But guilt is a cruel master, and it is never satisfied."
"Pain does not fade with time. It shapes you. Carves you into something new." A pause. A breath. "The question is whether you will endure it."
He is beside her now, but still, she does not face him.
"You failed."
The words tighten like a noose. She closes her eyes, embracing them, letting them choke down the pain.
"You failed to save your people. You failed to make the right decisions." His voice does not soften. "And you failed them because you are only one woman, no matter how much the world has demanded otherwise."
At last, she turns to him. And in his eyes, she sees it - his recognition of what is growing within her.
The same hollow, yawning void. The same pull, slow and insidious, dragging her toward something darker. The same quiet, simmering rage, waiting to uncoil, to strike. It is not justice. It is not righteousness. It is something colder - the terrible clarity that comes when there is nothing left to lose. He carries it too. A wound carved into him long before she knew his name.
She remembers how he did not hesitate when he killed those mages.
Just as she will not hesitate to kill the men who murdered her clan.
Solas holds her gaze, a witness to her rage. And in his eyes, she sees his answer.
He will not stop her. Just as she did not stop him.

Went into this with no expectations! I just saw the tropes and summary and was like ooohhh i love all of these! I ended up rly loving the story and enjoying my read!!!
Your fingers tightened around the glass. Without thinking, you poured yourself another shot—your third, or was it the fourth? You weren’t keeping track anymore.
Mingyu let out a small chuckle, and that was it—you tipped your head back and downed the drink in one go.
Your chest tightened. Mingyu was your closest friend. Your partner for everything. The one you laughed with, teased, leaned on. Seeing her in that space, acting like she belonged, made your skin crawl. You probably were just overreacting- and yet, you just kept drinking.
Loved loved loved how this was written!!! I could really feel how reader was clinging onto the alcohol like a lifeline! The more it felt like Mingyu would be slipping through her fingers the harder she tried to be grounded by something else!
God, you were so hopelessly in love with him.
I GET U READER I WOULD BE TOO He's such a gentleman and he's sooo in tune with her feelings WHO WOULDNT FALL IN LOVE W KIM MINGYU
Of course, it wasn’t a big deal to him. But to you? It was everything. Every single thing.
GOD I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW MUCH THIS HURTS its like ur breaking ur own heart bc the feeling is like!! WHAT RIGHT DO I HAVE TO FEEL THIS WAY???!! i get u reader i rly get uuuu BUT UR FEELINGS ARE REAL AND VALID 😭 the hoping and yearning wow wow wow
I loved the imagery of the writing so much!!! Especially the scene outside the restaurant!!! Felt so immersed in the story and in very few scenes was already familiar with how close reader and Mingyu are and their feelings for each other.
BUT THE MORNING AFTER SCENE OH MY GOD???!?! CHEEKY MINGYU AAAAHHHHHHHHH
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/4406d5c1073565a2008ef2ead15c5f8b/8b88b4ced27bc39d-f0/s540x810/9dc2ab720b8ec543dd0c04d044a71452c7643077.jpg)

![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/cc2c10522366037c53f5bba7bc825957/8b88b4ced27bc39d-6d/s540x810/ca5ba495de9a0cf3f535949babc1258d6f9fed80.jpg)
"Oh, this is fun," - im sorry. I WANT HIM SO BAD. Mingyu being a tease and being cheeky... I LOVE THIS KIND OF MINGYU GENUINELY LIKE SOME OF MY FAVORITE MINGYU TO READ!!!!!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6d14511143ffdeab2aad929b43f7689c/8b88b4ced27bc39d-7e/s540x810/eabbb6da74aa02489afdb15905c67ec8447a49c8.jpg)
YES HE DID BECAUSE PERHAPS!!!! HE IS IN LOVE WITH U ALSO DEAR READER?! 💘
“I know you can,” he said with that same, effortless ease, his tall, towering frame moving toward you without hesitation. “But let me.” His voice was softer this time, the teasing gone.
MY KNEES TURNED TO JELLY FR!!!! when he is chivalrous and a gentleman but also hot as fuck 🤩
Mingyu stood at the stove, moving effortlessly like he belonged there, he changed his white shirt. His black t-shirt now clinging just enough to make you notice. The sleeves stretched over his biceps, broad and defined, flexing slightly with each movement.
IMAGINING THIS MINGYU
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/5575d785e0a201784feb68d1b95e903a/8b88b4ced27bc39d-dc/s500x750/1f567bc0d36d9b136fe5864c1a6336265ce3f915.jpg)
AND I DONT BLAME READER FOR HAVING A HARD TIME W HER FEELINGS FOR HIM
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/e9bc071061d13f9c360b4e8720ac1909/8b88b4ced27bc39d-c4/s540x810/7870136b1cacadbb75d1a49a272037be7cda6164.jpg)

The whole back and forth about stealing and wearing Mingyu's clothes...... THE OBVIOUS FLIRTING PLEASE I WAS RLY EATING IT UP!!!! dont u two realize ur so into each other aaahhhhhh! And then tbh at this point i thought the story (or part 1) would be over but there was more!!!!
Mingyu was still there and reader was wearing his clothes. Excuse me a whole day of domesticity with your favorite person????
The way user taesjpq painted the picture of how their night was going sent me to space actually because ITS THE LITTLE THINGS!!!! together ordinary things feel extraordinary 😭 and im sure thats what reader felt w gyu!!!! And please they never stopped flirting! Him telling her he looks good in his clothes!!?? MY BABY GIRL LET YOUR MIND GO THERE!!!! THINK ABT GYU BEING PART OF UR DAILY LIFE!!!! BELIEVE HE LIKES U BACK COS HE DOES!!!!!
He watches you with an intensity that makes the room feel smaller, more intimate. His eyes flicker to your lips, and that’s when it happens—the hesitation. Heswallows hard, fighting the urge to close the distance entirely. He’s trying—really trying—to resist, to keep this from crossing a line neither of you can come back from. But it’s impossible when you’re looking at him like that, when your body is so close, when the scent of you wrapped in his clothes makes his head spin.
THIS MADE ME INSANE I LEGIT WASNT BREATHING
SO IMAGINE MY EXCITEMENT WHEN HE TRIED TO GO IN FOR A KISS!!!!!!! The build-up??!?! The uncertaintainty but also wanting it so bad??!?! CROSS IT CROSS THE LINE!!!! God im rooting for them i am suchhhh a sucker for bff's to lovers!!!!!!!
Thank you for writing this i really reaaally enjoyed it!!! I cant wait for the next part!!!! 💖

I‘m actually very nervous about it, so feel free to give your opinion. I just wrote this, when I felt down bad for Mingyu again (he‘s so boyfriend istg). The question is, when i am not exactly down bad for Mingyu? He‘s the standard.

"Any plans for the weekend?"
San held the office door open for you, his gentle smile as familiar as ever.
You sighed quietly, relieved that the exhausting workweek was finally over. It had been chaos—half the staff out sick, leaving you drowning in double the workload.
San had been your lifesaver, stepping in every time you thought you might break under the pressure.
"Actually, I'm meeting my friends at a restaurant," you replied, noticing the faint flicker of something wistful in his eyes.
"Why am I not surprised?" he teased, his grin widening as you stepped through the door.
San had a way of always asking about your plans, like he was hoping, just once, your answer might include him. But it never did. Just: „My friends, my friends, my friends.“
It wasn’t a lie, though. You practically lived at their apartment. Gaming nights with Wonwoo, gym sessions with Mingyu, and endless meals with Hoshi—that was your rhythm, your second home.
"Thanks for the coffee, San. Next time, it’s on me," you said, flashing him a grateful smile.
"Anytime," he replied, his gaze lingering for just a moment longer before you parted ways.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bd7a94b059b002198fe2e0410161d9fc/d68efe5aabe6943b-06/s250x250_c1/6088c66cd31d426d71d32d79e038f23f1e849634.jpg)
You arrived flustered, breathless from rushing. Of course, they were already here.
As you pushed open the door, the warm buzz of conversation and clinking plates enveloped you.
Your eyes scanned the restaurant, locking on them almost immediately: your boys—and a girl. A girl?
She was sitting beside Mingyu, close enough that their arms nearly brushed. Her laugh carried across the table, light and unrestrained, and something about it made your stomach twist. Who was she?
"Finally!" Hoshi greeted you as you approached, his voice brimming with playful exasperation. "We thought you’d ditched us."
You forced a smile, settling into the usual chaos of their teasing welcome.
"This is Hana," Wonwoo explained casually when he caught the question in your eyes.
"And? don’t you think she looks just like me?" Hoshi added, grinning as he gestured dramatically toward her.
You studied her more closely, and the resemblance hit you. It was uncanny—her smile, her energy. She could’ve been his twin.
"I’ve been crashing at their place for a few days," Hana said, extending her hand toward you. "Hoshi insisted."
Your polite smile barely reached your eyes. Why hadn’t anyone told you?
"Nice to meet you," you said, shaking her hand and glancing around. There wasn’t an empty chair for you.
Mingyu noticed immediately. Without hesitation, he stood, grabbing one from a nearby table and setting it beside him.
"Thanks, Gyu," you murmured, your voice softer than you intended.
He nodded and gave you a gentle smile.
Oh, how you’d missed him. His warmth, his silly jokes—the way his laughter could dissolve the stress of your week. You’d been looking forward to this, to catching up with him. But now, it seemed difficult.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bd7a94b059b002198fe2e0410161d9fc/d68efe5aabe6943b-06/s250x250_c1/6088c66cd31d426d71d32d79e038f23f1e849634.jpg)
As the group settled into conversation, you tried to focus, tried to join in. But your attention kept drifting—to Hana, to how close she sat to Mingyu, to the way she leaned into him when she laughed. Her fingers grazed his arm casually, like she belonged there.
"So, Hana, how do you like the city so far?" Wonwoo asked, drawing her attention.
"It’s great," she said brightly. "Hoshi’s been showing me around—it’s been so much fun."
Her hand lingered on Mingyu’s shoulder as she spoke, and your stomach knotted uncomfortably.
Just then, the waiter arrived, placing drinks on the table. Four sojus. Your eyebrows lifted in surprise—they’d ordered before you arrived. That wasn’t how things worked. You always waited. It was a small tradition, but it mattered. Or, at least, it used to.
"One soju for me too, please," you said quickly, catching the waiter before he walked away.
But the unease didn’t leave. Hana’s touchiness continued—her laugh too loud, her attention on Mingyu too focused. He didn’t seem to mind, even smiled at her a few times. Yet, every so often, his eyes flicked to you, as if checking for something.
You didn’t know why, but every time Hana’s hand brushed against his arm, you reached for your bottle. Every time she giggled a little too sweetly, your glass met your lips. The warm burn sliding down your throat was easier to deal with than the twist in your chest.
"You should see these two at the gym," Hoshi chimed in suddenly, pointing between you and Mingyu. "They’re like workout aliens or something."
The group laughed, and you managed a small smile, but your heart wasn’t in it.
Hana giggled, leaning closer to Mingyu. "Maybe you can show me some moves sometime," she said, her tone playful.
“I need to go to the bathroom,” you lie, the words tumbling out too quickly, barely convincing even to yourself.
You needed space—air that wasn’t thick with your confusion, your frustration. If you stayed another second, your face would betray you, exposing the childish jealousy simmering just beneath the surface.
The cool evening air hit you like a lifeline as you stepped outside, goosebumps forming on your arms from the crisp breeze.
You closed your eyes briefly, letting it kiss your flushed cheeks, but it did little to soothe the ache in your chest. The dull, relentless throb of longing refused to fade.
“This isn’t the bathroom.”
The familiar voice sent a jolt through you, every nerve in your body suddenly on high alert. You didn’t have to turn to know who it was.
You glanced back anyway, already masking your shock with a strained smile. Of course, it’s him. It’s always him.
“I don’t know what you mean,” you said, forcing a lightness you didn’t feel. “This looks like a bathroom to me.”
He chuckled, that low, warm laugh that always did things to your chest, leaving a trail of warmth in its wake. And despite yourself, you smiled too, because how could you not?
God, you were so hopelessly in love with him.
Without a word, he steps closer, draping your jacket over your shoulders. “You’re probably freezing,” he says, his voice gentle, but with a tenderness that makes your stomach tighten.
His hands brush lightly against your skin as he adjusts the jacket, and it sends a shiver through you—not from the cold, but from the barely-there touch.
You look up, your breath catching in your throat as your eyes meet his. His gaze softens, a flicker of concern crossing his face.
The silence that followed stretched taut between you, thick and heavy with unspoken words. Neither of you seemed willing to break it. The faint hum of traffic and the muffled buzz of laughter from the bar filled the empty space.
You shifted uncomfortably, your fingers toying with the hem of your dress. Don’t say it. Don’t bring her up. Just let it go. But the question clawed its way out of you anyway.
“I didn’t know Hana was staying at your place,” you blurted, the words sharper than you intended, laced with something raw and exposed.
He exhaled, running a hand through his hair, his exasperation evident. “Yeah, I didn’t know either. Trust me.”
You raise an eyebrow, still unsure. “Hoshi didn’t mention it?”
“He forgot,” Mingyu mutters, shaking his head. What a Hoshi thing to happen, you thought.
“I walked into my room, and she was already asleep in my bed. I didn’t have the heart to wake her, so I took the couch for the week.”
Your stomach twisted, the weight of his explanation sitting heavy. Of course, he wouldn’t complain. He’s Mingyu—always generous, always selfless. Always giving more of himself than he should.
“Oh,” you managed, your voice too light, too fake. “It’s just funny to think… if I showed up at your place, I’d find her instead of you.” You tried to laugh, but the sound was hollow, even to your ears.
He shrugged, casual and unaffected. “It wasn’t a big deal for me. I worked overtime all week, so I wasn’t home much anyway.”
Of course, it wasn’t a big deal to him. But to you? It was everything. Every single thing.
You felt the sting of tears pricking at the corners of your eyes, but you blinked them away quickly. Not here. Not now.
The night had been shallow and hollow, a void you couldn’t seem to escape. All you’d wanted was a quiet evening with your friends, especially Mingyu. Just sitting beside him, leaning against his shoulder—feeling the solid warmth of him—would’ve been enough.
But instead, you’d spent the evening watching Hana, her laughter, her touches, her presence invading spaces you’d always considered yours. Even if you don't have the right to do so.
The ache in your chest sharpened, spreading through you like wildfire. You couldn’t stay here any longer.
“I’m gonna head home,” you said, your voice flat, eyes fixed on the ground. “I think I need some rest after this week.”
You felt his gaze land on you, heavy and searching, and for a moment, you wavered under its weight.
“I’ll take you home,” he said softly, his voice firm, leaving no room for argument.
“No, it’s okay,” you replied quickly, trying to steady your tone. “I have my car.”
“I know,” he says, stepping closer, his presence almost overwhelming. His eyes scan your face, tracing every inch of you, as if reading you in ways that make your heart race. “But you shouldn’t drive. You drank too much.”
“I’m fine,” you muttered, frustration bubbling up. “I’m not drunk.”
And then, he speaks again, voice softer, more tender.
“Your cheeks,” he murmurs, his thumb gently brushing against your flushed skin. “They’re red. That happens when you drink too much.”
You freeze, his touch lingering. Your heart pounds in your chest, and his proximity feels like a punch to your gut. He looks even more handsome than usual—his messy hair falling over his forehead, the soft fabric of his shirt still loose and unbuttoned just enough to make your breath catch. The way he stands there, effortlessly composed, but so close that you can almost taste the air between you—his scent wrapping around you like a warm, familiar blanket.
God, you feel weak in front of him.
“I can’t let you drive like this,” he adds softly.
You want to protest, but the words catch in your throat. He cares. He always does.
“Unless…” he tilts his head slightly, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “You’ve got other plans?”
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/bd7a94b059b002198fe2e0410161d9fc/d68efe5aabe6943b-06/s250x250_c1/6088c66cd31d426d71d32d79e038f23f1e849634.jpg)
A sharp, throbbing pain pulsed through your head as you reached for your phone, your limbs feeling heavy under the weight of sleep.
The sunlight filtering through the curtains was way too bright, making you wince as you blindly swiped to answer the call without checking the caller ID.
“Hello…?” Your voice was hoarse, thick with exhaustion.
“Mingyu, where are you?! I’ve been trying to reach both of you for hours!”
Your brows furrowed, confusion washing over you like a cold wave. Mingyu?
You pulled the phone away from your ear to check the name on the screen. Hoshi Hyung.
Your headache made it hard to process, but one thing was clear—you would never save him like that.
Why the hell was he even calling you about Mingyu?
Just as the pieces of the puzzle refused to click into place, you felt it—a presence beside you.
With a slow, sinking feeling, you turned your head to the right.
And there he was.
Mingyu.
All 187 centimeters of him, sleeping peacefully under your blanket like he belonged there. His hair was tousled, his breathing deep and even, his broad chest rising and falling in a slow rhythm.
Your eyes widened, your grip on the phone tightening. You hung up immedietly.
Fuck.
Before you could spiral too much, Mingyu let out a deep sigh, his arm stretching out lazily—almost like he was reaching for you. His eyes, still hazy with sleep, fluttered open but instantly softening the moment they land on you,— The way you were staring at him, as if he'd just appeared out of nowhere —his lips curled into a knowing smirk.
“Morning,” he murmured, his voice deep and rough with sleep.
“It’s 2 p.m., Mingyu.”
He blinked slowly before lazily glancing around the room. “Shit, really?” His voice was raspy, thick. He let out a slow breath before sinking deeper into the pillows. “I slept so fucking good.” A lazy smile tugged at his lips as he let his eyes fall shut again.
You watched him. His dark hair was a complete mess, strands sticking out in every direction, and yet, somehow, it only made him look softer. His skin looked warm and tan against the white sheets. His lips—full, slightly swollen from sleep—parted just the tiniest bit, and for a moment, you had to fight the urge to reach out, to trace them with your fingertips, just to see if they were as soft as they looked.
You swallowed hard. "I... uh—what happened last night?"
Mingyu let out a soft chuckle, rolling onto his side to face you properly. “You really don’t remember?”
Your silence was answer enough.
“Oh, this is fun,” he mused, resting his cheek against his palm. “You were very affectionate. Like, I knew you liked me, but I didn’t expect you to cling to me like that.”
Your face burned instantly. “Shut up.”
He grinned wider. “You wouldn’t let go. Kept saying I couldn’t leave, that I should sleep next to you.” His voice dropped into something teasing. “Should I start staying over more often?”
The heat in your cheeks deepened, and without thinking, you grabbed the nearest pillow and threw it at him. He laughed, catching it effortlessly before it could hit his face.
“Ohhh, so violent first thing in the morning,” he teased. “Where’s all that love from last night, huh?”
You wanted to escape the awkwardness, so you stepped away from the bed, but as you did, your gaze betrayed you—flicking toward Mingyu. His white shirt hung loosely on his frame, almost completely unbuttoned, exposing a hint of his chest and the silver chain resting just above it. The sight made your breath catch for a moment, your heart skipping.
Mingyu caught your glance. His eyes met yours for a heartbeat, but then they dropped—slowly, unwillingly, lingering on your legs just a moment too long.
You shifted uncomfortably, feeling the fabric of your dress inching up, revealing more of your legs than you'd intended. The air between you both seemed to thicken, heavy with something unspoken.
In an awkward flurry, Mingyu began buttoning his shirt, his movements too quick, too self-conscious, like he was suddenly aware of every inch of space between you.
You cleared your throat, trying to fill the silence, and nervously stammered, “I—I’m making breakfast.”
Mingyu immediately sat up, “I’ll do it.”
You turned to glare at him, a bit sharper than you intended. “I can make it on my own.”
“I know you can,” he said with that same, effortless ease, his tall, towering frame moving toward you without hesitation. “But let me.” His voice was softer this time, the teasing gone.
His eyes flickered over you briefly—the exhaustion, the headache written all over your face, the way your clothes were still crumpled from last night.
“You should take a shower,” he added, voice gentle. “It’ll help with the headache.”
You blinked at him, and looked down on you after.
“Yeah..probably.”
You hesitated for a second before heading towards the bathroom, still feeling like you were stuck in some weird dream.
The moment you stepped in front of the mirror, you almost flinch.
Your makeup was smudged, your hair an absolute mess, strands sticking to your forehead. Your dress from last night was wrinkled and slightly loose on one side.
You looked horrible. Greasy. Disgusting.
Mingyu slept next to this?
You suddenly wanted to cry.
Taking a deep breath, you quickly peeled off your clothes and stepped into the shower, letting the hot water wash away the weird feelings in your chest.
By the time you were done, you felt human again.
There was no way you were putting that dress back on, so you grabbed your bathrobe, tying it tightly around your waist before stepping out.
Your hair was still damp, strands clinging to your skin as you walked barefoot toward the kitchen, following the smell of food.
Mingyu stood at the stove, moving effortlessly like he belonged there, he changed his white shirt. His black t-shirt now clinging just enough to make you notice. The sleeves stretched over his biceps, broad and defined, flexing slightly with each movement.
And then he turned around.
For a moment, it was like time froze.
Mingyu’s breath hitched the second his eyes landed on you.
The damp strands of hair framing your face, the way your robe sat snugly around you, revealing the delicate curve of your collarbone—he was so unprepared for this.
His fingers twitched around the wooden spoon, and for a split second, he forgot what he was even doing. His grip almost faltered.
He was staring.
Hard.
You raised an eyebrow. “You good?”
Mingyu swallowed, snapping out of it. “Y-Yeah. Yeah, I’m—uh, food’s almost done.”
He forced a smile, turning back to the stove way too quickly—like he needed a second to compose himself.
You didn’t question it, shrugging as you took a seat at the table.
Mingyu, on the other hand, inhaled deeply, gripping the spoon like it was the only thing keeping him from completely losing his mind.
Yeah. He was so screwed.
“So.” Mingyu cleared his throat, a little too forcefully. “How’s your headache?”
You barely looked up, scrolling through the endless messages from Hoshi and Wonwoo. “Hm? Oh-It still hurts. But I’m sure I’ll feel better after eating something."
A beat of silence.
Too long. Too heavy.
You, sitting there like that—bare-faced, hair still damp, wrapped up in your robe—he had seen you like this before. And yet, right now, it felt… different. His fingers flexed against the edge of the kitchen counter.
He didn’t want to think about why.
“How’s work been lately?” he asked, voice casual—too casual. “You looked exhausted yesterday. And, well… the number of drinks you had kind of spoke for itself.”
You let out a dry laugh, stretching your legs beneath the table. “Yeah, work… Work has been insane. Feels like half the office is out sick, and I’m the lucky one picking up the slack.”
Mingyu frowned as he turned off the stove, moving with practiced ease. “That’s bullshit.” A pause. “No wonder you were exhausted.”
That wasn’t the reason you drank last night, but he didn’t need to know that.
You shrugged, watching him. The way he knew where everything was. The way he moved through your kitchen like he belonged there. Because he did.
Mingyu set a plate in front of you before settling into the chair across from you. He picked up his fork but didn’t eat right away, just watching you for a beat.
“You really need a break,” he muttered, mostly to himself. Then, his eyes flickered to yours, and something shifted in his expression. A smirk tugged at his lips. “Or maybe just… new clothes.”
You blinked. “What?”
He gestured vaguely toward you. “I mean, I knew you had a couple of my things, but—” He gave you a pointed look. “At this point, half of your closet is mine. I could practically move in here.”
You almost choked on your food.
That little shit.
Mingyu leaned back in his chair, arms crossing over his chest. “You know, I always wondered where my stuff kept disappearing to.” He tilted his head, pretending to think. “For a while, I actually believed I had a hole in my closet.”
You swallowed your bite. “Weird. Sounds like a you problem.”
He scoffed. “Oh, really?”
You nodded, keeping your face blank. “Mhm. No clue what you’re talking about.”
His gaze flickered over you, his smirk deepening. “So, you’re telling me my hoodies just magically disappeared? Along with my t-shirts? And my beanie? And—”
“Okay, okay,” you cut in, groaning. “Maybe your clothes are just… way too comfortable. Not my fault they’re basically begging to be stolen.”
“Begging,” he repeated, like he was tasting the word.
“Yes.” You met his eyes, feigning innocence. “I don’t see the issue.”
Mingyu let out a soft laugh, shaking his head. “You’re impossible.”
You smirked, tilting your head. “And yet, you still let me steal your stuff.”
He exhaled through his nose, picking at his food. “I don’t let you. You just take it.”
“Semantics.”
Mingyu rolled his eyes, but there was something in his expression—something warm, something familiar.
For a moment, it almost felt normal again. Like the weird tension from before had settled into something softer. Something easier.
But then his eyes lingered on you a second too long.
And suddenly, it was back.
That unspoken thing between you.
Neither of you acknowledged it.
You just kept eating.
And Mingyu?
Mingyu was so, so screwed.
Your phone started ringing. Hoshi was calling.
We were screwed.

By the time evening settled in, you had changed into something comfortable—his clothes, to be exact. He was still here, lingering in your space, and for a few fleeting hours, everything felt right. As if this was how it was always meant to be. As if this was your everyday. But deep down, a small voice whispered, warning you not to get used to it.
After dinner, Mingyu is still here.
You’re in the kitchen, washing dishes side by side like it’s nothing, like it’s the most natural thing in the world. His hand brushes against yours when he reaches for a plate, and it’s almost too quick to register. But you don’t pull away. Neither does he.
He leans against the counter, arms crossed loosely, watching you as you load the dishes into the dishwasher. His voice breaks the silence, low and casual, but there’s an edge to it, something like hesitation.
“Do you still have a headache?”
Before you can speak, he’s close. His presence fills the space between you. His left hand gently presses against your forehead.. His right hand moves to your neck, fingers brushing lightly over your skin.
You barely notice it at first, but when you shift slightly, you feel it—your back pressing against the counter. Mingyu is so close, standing in front of you, subtly caging you in You can barely breathe. You don’t know what’s worse: the fact that he’s so close, or the fact that you want him closer.
Your voice falters when you answer. "I’m fine now. It’s... better." You watch as Mingyu’s face softens in an instant at your words.
Neither of you moves, standing close, too close.
Mingyu’s lips quirk into a grin, but there’s a hint of something more in his voice. “My clothes look good on you. I should let you steal them more often.”
You laugh, but it’s breathless. You stretch up, reaching for his face, your fingers brushing his skin. You squint your eyes, making a playful face. “I’d do it anyway. Don’t need your permission.”
Mingyu chuckles, but his gaze shifts, sharpening just enough for you to notice. He steps closer. The warmth radiating off his body, the faint brush of his leg against yours, the way his chest is so close that if you just leaned in the smallest bit, you'd be pressed against him. It’s intoxicating. You don’t even realize you’ve stopped breathing for a second until you force yourself to inhale, only to take in the faint scent of him—clean, familiar, utterly Mingyu.
And then, he inches closer, almost without thinking, and his lips brush against yours—just the lightest touch, so soft that it could almost be a breath. Your body tenses, and for a second, everything stills.
But fuck, it’s enough to send heat coursing through his veins.
His lips are soft, teasing, brushing lightly against yours. The kiss is slow, barely there, but enough to leave you gasping for more.
You inhale sharply, your breath mixing with his. You don’t move away. If anything, you shift closer, your body reacting before your mind can catch up.
His lips linger, hovering, teasing. Testing.
His self-control is hanging by a thread.
He tells himself to stop. You were loosing yourself in it. You-
- Ding Dong
The sound of the doorbell rings, slicing through the tension. You both freeze. The world shifts back into focus. The heat, the closeness, everything evaporates in an instant.
You step back, your breath coming in uneven gasps. Mingyu looks away, running a hand through his hair, trying to regain his composure.

Despite your choice, when everyone had voted, you walked back to your boyfriend, ready for him to annoy you for choosing X.
And it didn’t miss.
“I have no problem with you choosing X, we can still play the games together, you’re in my team forever, but why did you choose X ? Huh ?”
“So you’re not totally okay with it.” You pointed out.
“I am !”
“No you’re not, stop lying.” You said in a singsong voice, trying to not show your annoyance.
He sighed.
“You have debts, right ? That’s why you’re here. Does 20 million suffice you ? With another game you could have way more. Debt free and maybe even rich !”
You just hummed, no longer wanting to participate in the conversation.
“What would you do with 45.6 billion ?”
“Get away from you.” You replied without looking at him, searching for 388.
“Ah, don’t say that.” He moved his hand to pat your head but you dodged it. “Stop being so-”
“Being so what ?” You glared at him. “Mad about nearly dying because of someone I trust ?”
He looked at you silently before sighing.
“I’m sorry.”
“I know.”
“I didn’t mean to push you.”
“I know.”
“I never-”
“I know.” You said a bit louder, hoping he’ll get the memo to leave you alone.
He pouted, upset, but didn’t bother you anymore.
Then, a group of circles came in with small boxes of food, asking you to get in line to get your portion.
Thanos was sitting next to you, mixing the yolk of his fried egg with his rice and slices of fish sausages. Namgyu and him were talking back and forth about MG Coin and the money he made them lose until you suddenly stood up and walked away.
“You’re not gonna eat it ?” He asked, taking the small box in his hand to point to your untouched egg. You didn’t reply.
He shrugged, separating the yolk from the white and adding it to his mixture.
On the other side of the room, 388 kept yelling “Ay !” each time 390 hit his arm. You wondered, amused, if they were doing okay, standing a bit to the side, waiting for them to be finished.
That’s when 001 noticed you.
“Can we help you ?” He asked, tilting his head, the group’s focus shifting to you.
“Huh…” You didn’t know what to say, caught off guard, before turning to 388. “I wanted to thank you for saving my life. Thank you so much !”
You were about to bow but 388 rushed to you, stopping you from properly thanking him.
“Ah, no need to bow, really. I just-” The tip of his fingers gently tapped your arm. “I just did what I had to do- Couldn’t stand there and let it happen…” He added with a light chuckle.
You wanted to argue back but 390 spoke before you.
“You saved him ?” He asked, pointing at you.
“Yeah, my boyfriend pushed me right before a red light. I tripped and he caught me. I wouldn’t be here without him.” You said, smiling at 388. “Thank you.”
“Your boyfriend ?” 390 repeated, surprise evident in his voice.
“Yes.” You replied without thinking, before realizing this place could be far from being a safe space.
Everyone stared at you as you smiled awkwardly.
“Are you two gonna be okay ?” 388 asked quietly after a moment of silence.
You looked over your shoulder, eyeing Thanos and Namgyu still talking.
“Yeah.” You frowned, an evident lie. “Everything’s fine.” You gave him two thumbs up. “Totally doesn’t wanna kill him a little bit.”
“He… pushed you ?” 456 slowly asked. “Voluntarily ?”
You nodded.
“Yeah. Well-” You sighed. “He didn’t know that was me.” You flashed them another awkward smile.
Silence.
“And you’re still calling him your boyfriend ?” 001 finally asked. Both curious and slightly impressed. People generally break up after a situation like this.
You nodded, giving him a shrug.
“I’m alive so… Mh.”
390 scoffed, turning around to look at Thanos as he whispered something about today’s youth.
“Can I stay with you, though ?” You asked, fidgeting with your fingers, smiling weakly. “Don’t really wanna hang with him at the moment. And he voted O, so… I know he’s gonna spend the rest of his time here pressuring me into voting O as well.”
001 and 388 looked down at their chests, and that’s when you noticed their blue patches.
“Well, I mean, like…” You cracked your knuckles, chuckling nervously.
“It’s okay.” Said 388. “We’re not gonna force you to vote O.” He laughed, patting your back. “Right ?”
“No.” Smiled 001, scooting to the side to give you a place to sit.
While you presented yourself to the group, thanking them for accepting to take you in, Thanos was scowling, quickly understanding you wanted to spend time away from him.
Though he knew you loved him and stubbornly kept showing him your affection despite everything, there was now a nagging thought that maybe you could get a change of heart because of 388. Just because he happened to save your life after one little mistake.
That asshole was acting like a prince in shining armor.
Then Namgyu pulled him out of his thoughts, wanting to pay MG Coin a courtesy visit. Thanos quickly hummed, gladly accepting anything that’d take his mind off of you and what happened. He stood up, following him.
“That crypto ruined my life too.” 333 replied to Namgyu. “That’s why I’m here, to make money.”
“That’s right.” Thanos said, facing him. “You better make a lot of money. Because of that damn coin I lost over 500 million won, the money I earned from busting my ass rapping.”
“I lost 300 million.” Added Namgyu.
“You better win the games and make loads of money to pay us back.”
“I get it. Can you go away now ? I’m trying to eat-” Myunggi replied frustrated as Namgyu took his food.
“You little shit, eating like a fucking pig.”
“Give it back.”
“No.”
Thanos took the small box from Namgyu’s hands.
“You want to eat this so badly ?” He asked, smiling. “Then Thanos will feed you.”
He grabbed a handful of rice before slapping it on Myunggi’s face as the man yelped, disgusted.
“Good, isn’t it ?” Thanos laughed before Myunggi threw himself on him, the two falling on the floor loudly as they cursed.
You and the group you were with quickly noticed them. You sighed, rubbing your forehead, too tired to want to deal with it. You closed your eyes, maybe if you ignored it, it would go away ?
“It’s good to be young. They still have the energy to do that.” You heard Daeho say.
“He might get really hurt. Someone should stop them.” Jungbae added.
“I know… me ?”
But right as he said that you felt someone stand up next to you. Youngil.
“Boys, what are you doing in the middle of mealtime ?” He asked. “No fights during mealtime. There are elders present. Mind your manners. And two against one ? Aren’t you embarrassed ?”
You listened as Thanos and Youngil spoke for a brief moment. Then you heard people gasp. You looked through your fingers, seeing Youngil holding Thanos by the throat, Namgyu on the floor holding his leg, visibly in pain.
Oh.
Thanos walked back to him after Youngil had released him, only to be punched in the chest and stomach before grabbing his arm and twisting it. You could hear it crack from where you were.
Oh fuck.
Youngil was now above your boyfriend, strangling him and ready to punch him again. You hated Thanos at the moment but you still didn’t want him to actually die.
“Oh my- God- Damn. Youngil !” You called, quickly standing up to rush to them, nearly tripping on your way down. Shit, shit, shit. “Please, excuse him.” You approached them, rubbing your hands in a begging manner as Thanos looked at you as if to tell you to fucking do something.
“I’m sorry.” He said weakly, struggling to speak as he patted the man’s wrist, looking back at him.
“Please, Youngil. He’s not in his right mind.” You pleaded, falling to your knees. You wanted to grab his hand to stop him but feared it would only make things worse.
“Please…” Thanos squeezed his eyes shut. Was it how he’s gonna die ? “Let me go...”
After a few long seconds, Youngil finally released him, slowly standing back up as people applauded him.
You let out a relieved sigh, Thanos coughing as you placed your hands on him to help him sit up.
“Thank you.” You said quietly, rubbing your boyfriend’s back. “It won’t happen again.”
Youngil gave you a look, visibly not understanding why you were with that manchild.
He walked away as you rested your forehead against Thanos’ shoulder.
“Fucking scared me.” You mumbled.
As Thanos recovered, you gently gave the back of his head a slap.
“Don’t do it again.” You said, helping him stand up. “Don’t want your stupid ass to die.”
Thanos said nothing, rubbing his throat as he looked at Youngil sitting back with 456.
Slowly everyone went back to what they were doing, minding their own business.
Namgyu sighed, head resting against the wall as he quietly cursed Youngil.
Thanos was chewing his cheeks, one hand rubbing where he had been punched, thinking.
“Why were you with them ?” He suddenly asked, pointing toward the group you previously were with.
“Because Daeho saved my life. And I didn’t wanna-”
“Daeho ? So you know his name ?”
You looked at him silently before replying.
“I went to thank him and we exchanged names.” You rolled your eyes. “It’s basic decency to know the name of the one you owe your life to, no ?”
He scoffed, leaning back against the wall.
“Are you jealous ?” You asked, looking at him.
“No.”
That was a lie. Your attention was on another person and he was not a fan of it.
“Good, then.” You replied with a nod, noticing your small bento-like box they had given you earlier. “Did you eat my egg yolk ?”
“I asked you but you didn't reply.” He shrugged.
You sighed slowly. Today really was a long and bad day.
Nighttime came and Namgyu climbed to his bed a few minutes before the lights were off. You stood up to do the same, but Thanos stopped you, grabbing your wrist.
“Where are you going ?”
“My bed.”
“No you’re not.” He replied, pulling on your arm. You sighed. It’s true you haven’t slept alone in a long time and got used to having him next to you. And it was evident Thanos felt the same. But you were still insanely mad at him. “Come on, I said I was sorry, I didn’t mean to push you.”
“I know, you’ve said it a thousand times already.”
“Because it’s true ! How many time will I have to-”
“If I accept to sleep with you will you shut up ?” You cut him off. He smiled, letting go of your wrist with a nod. “Then scoot the fuck away, these bed are small as shit.”
As the lights were off for what seemed a good while, you quietly turned around, facing your boyfriend. You thought he was already out, since he’s usually fast asleep.
He almost made you jump when you heard him whisper.
“Did you tell them I pushed you ?”
“Daeho’s team ? Yeah.”
“Why ?!” He whisper-yelled. “Are you really that mad to send someone after me ?”
“What ?” You said a bit too loudly before lowering your voice again. “Yes I’m that mad but no he didn’t go after you because of me. The topic came up because they wondered why I was thanking Daeho. You got your ass handed to you because of your own damn self. You really know how to piss people off.”
There was silence. You could tell Thanos was scowling.
“Are you gonna sleep now or piss me off ?” You asked.
“Why didn’t you try to stop your friend harder than that ? I could’ve died. It’s fine when I almost meet death but not when it’s you ?”
Enough.
“Fuck you.” You stood up, and walked away before climbing to your bed, ignoring Thanos calling you.
Morning came way too soon, music playing through the speakers as a voice announced the imminent start of the second game.
You all followed each other until you reached a large room, two colored circles on the ground as a voice welcomed you for the game.
“This game will be played in teams. Please divide into teams of five in the next ten minutes.” Said the voice before repeating itself.
You walked around, searching for people to team up with until you felt hands on your shoulders.
“Babe, you’re gonna team up with us, right ? Team Thanos. ” He asked, making you turn around. He had Namgyu and some other guy with them.
“Are you serious ?” You looked at him, unamused. “No.”
“Ah, come on, stop being so mad at me ! You’re not gonna find 4 people to play with you.”
“Fucking watch me, then.” You replied, walking away. You already knew who you could join. But when you found them, it seemed like you were too late.
There was a young girl with them, anxiously holding her belly. Daeho noticed you quickly.
“Ah, we’re sorry [Name]. I thought- we thought you were gonna team up with your boyfriend.” He said, looking at you with an apologetical face, visibly upset to see you still didn’t have a team.
“Oh. Yeah. Well.” You shrugged, unsure of what to reply. “It’s fine, not gonna fight her over it. I’ll find another team.” You said with a nod, already walking away.
“Good luck !” You heard him say, you smiled, giving him a thumbs up.
“You too !”
Now you were beginning to stress. You refused to play with Thanos and the team you could’ve been with had already found their fifth partner.
Thanos eyed you from time to time, wanting to make sure you’d find a team by the end of the 10 minutes.
“So are you accepting us or not ?” Asked 380.
He nodded, making a sign with his hands.
“Of course.”
Slowly, you managed to find yourself a team. Though you found it a little bit funny as you were in the same group as Myunggi.
“I’m sorry for his behavior.” You had told him, lowering your head. “Can’t promise he’ll be off your back.”
He scoffed. Of course, he already knew it.
You watched anxiously as the first two teams got called, and got their feet handcuffed together.
You swallowed thickly, eyeing the timer every ten seconds. They could make it. They could make it. They could make it.
They didn’t make it.
You grimaced as the 10 of them got shot, fearing for your life once more. You rubbed the X on your chest, trying to get some luck out of it and hoping that next time, more people would vote X and you’d go home.
The following teams succeeded together, reassuring you just a bit. This was possible. You sighed, grabbing the person’s arm next to you for a small celebration as he clapped and cheered for the winning teams.
Later came yours and Thanos’ turn, each team going at the start of the circle.
Though you knew it was possible to win, you were anxious. You didn’t know your team members except one, vaguely. You had to trust them and their ability in succeeding each game.
You tried to calm yourself, not wanting to stress about yours and Thanos’ life. He could make it, he seemed confident, or more accurately, not worried about it, not caring about what was at stake. You hoped this mindset would help him.
You focused on remembering how you played gonggi, trying to wake up your muscle memory.
You cracked your wrists and knuckles, focusing, relaxing. No one was here but you and your friends. No one would die.
You squatted down, sighing slowly to exhale all anxiety inducing thoughts.
Swiftly you threw the rocks, no longer breathing, too focused on them to do both.
“Breathe, idiot ! Do you want us to die ?!” Yelled Myunggi, noticing your red face as the five rocks rested on the back of your hand. You were so close, you couldn’t fail now.
“Shut up.” You replied, breathing shakily again.
You threw your hand up, the rocks flying in the air before quickly grabbing them all. You froze, not daring to look up at the masked man who made an O with his arms.
“Success.”
You nearly fell back in shock, your teammates stopping you from doing so by pulling you up to walk to the next game.
You blacked out while the man to your right played spinning top, your mind fuzzing like a static TV screen. It’s on your way down the corridors that you came back to your senses, Thanos talking your ears off about how cool his team was.
“Minsu was so good at gonggi, like-” He said, making whooshing sounds and moving his hand in the air as if he was playing the game right now. “And Namsu’s knee kept hitting mine like a metronome.” He added, laughing, his legs now shaking to imitate Namgyu.
“Huh ?”
“It was so fun, wasn’t it ?”
You didn’t reply. Fun wasn’t really how you had perceived it.
“What game did you play ?”
“Gonggi.”
“Ah !” He exclaimed as he hit your arm “I remember you used to play harder variants than the one we just did, right ? Must’ve been easy peasy.”
“Mh.”
“Are you still mad at me ? Is that why you’re being so dry ?”
You sighed, rubbing the bridge of your nose.
“Yes, I am still mad. But no, I’m dry because I don’t like being held at gunpoint.” You replied, feeling your anger build up again.
“What do I have to do to make you forgive me ?” He whined with a sigh.
“I don’t know !” You began to walk faster to put some distance between you two. “Maybe vote X that’ll help a bit ? Just an idea.”
“No way, I’m not leaving with only 20 million.”
“Then I guess you’re stuck with angry ol’ me.” You heard him groan. “Or we could still break up. You won’t have to worry about my forgiveness.” You added with a wry smile. Tired of constantly having to explain your anger.
He froze, shocked. You wanted to break up ? He panicked for a second, before rushing back to your side.
“What ?! No way ! You’re stuck with me ! My boyfriend !” He said, wrapping an arm around your shoulders, scared you would actually act on your words.
You rolled your eyes, pushing him away before speeding again.
“Is it because of that guy ?!” He asked, speeding as well.
“Who ?”
“Daeho. Or whatever. You kept mentioning him.”
You turned around to look at him with a confused look.
“I only did when you asked me about him ? What the fuck are you on about ?”
“Because he saved your life !”
“Yeah, because you nearly ended it. Did you forget ?”
He said nothing, scowling, scratching the back of his neck.
“I told you I didn’t mean to.”
“And yet it happened.” You sighed. “I really think we should break up.” You added, walking away. “I’m tired.”
Thanos stared at you, unable to process what you just said. Break up ? With him ?
When you reached the lobby, you didn’t go straight to your bed like Thanos had thought you would, but instead went where 456 and his group were the day before. Waiting for them.
Time passed, leaving you time to think. Were you too harsh ? Should you have forgiven him ? Were you too resentful ? You still loved him but right now all you wanted was to be away from him. Put more space between you two than what the lobby allowed. And at the same time, you were glad he was still in the same room.
You heard the door open, Daeho and his team entering.
You smiled weakly at him, glad he had survived. You wouldn’t have to stay alone in a room full of already made up groups.
He sat next to you, sighing, exhausted.
“What did you play ?” You asked quietly as the others sat down as well.
“Gonggi.” He replied, wiggling his right hand.
“Oh, me too !” You both smiled, giggling together. “I’m glad you made it. I promise I’ll find a way to repay you when we get out of here.”
“Ah, no way.” He patted your back. “Just, sort things out with your boyfriend then maybe we’ll be even.”
“I uh, broke up with him.”
Daeho looked at you with a shocked expression, his smile dropping.
“Are you okay ?”
“Yeah.” You replied with a nervous laugh before looking down. You kinda felt sick.
Daeho rubbed your back, trying to comfort you, as Thanos watched with a sour face.
Fucking prick. Stealing his boyfriend.
He wanted to have a chat with him, but he was in 001’s team. He could definitely beat him up but not 001, but if that man came to die in a game, it’s on sight.

Terribly sorry if you've answered this before, but what would Companion Aldiirn's greetings be, at those varying approval levels?
(I only ask bc I'm writing my character's rn and im curious lol)
I did write some ages ago but I could never figure out any for flirting/partnered stages because I am bad at that. So thank you for getting me to dust them all off and add more:
Negative Approval: has the air of a retail employee who cannot leave their post under threat of reprimand.
Hello.
Did you need help with something?
Is there something you need?
May I be of service to you?
(contextual) Yes, Mistress?
Neutral Approval: Chipper, retail voice.
Whatever you need, I can provide.
Aldiirn, at your service.
Good day, saer!
Every moment is a brand new opportunity!
(contextual) What does the mistress require?
Positive Approval: More cheeky and animated in his movements, but isn’t dropping the bit.
My favourite client! What can do for you?
Whatever you need, I can provide - terms and conditions apply please check regulations with your local outpost before placing an order.
G’day, mate!
Whatever you ask, you’ll have the Iaurrhen Guarantee.
(contextual) May the mistress be pleased with my service.
Flirting: Not too different from Positive.
Bright one today, isn’t it? But there’s always opportunity.
The Aldiirn Guarantee, just for you!
Many hands lighten the load. How may I unburden you?
My new friend, always delighted to work at your side.
Partnered: Sappy and sing-songy, big eyes just looking at the player.
Ussta alurlsrin.
My love, my loam, my home away from home.
I will forever wade in the shadows of your wake. To where shall we go?
Yes, my brightest cap?
Being sent back to camp:
Has my performance not been satisfactory? Give me the chance, allow me to make it right.
[on confirmation he must go] Oh… well, then… I’ll be counting inventory.
Spoken to by someone other than the player:
Pardon me, I’m currently busy with another client.

groom bff! se-mi x comphet! reader
synopsis: after years of waiting, he finally propose. wasn't this everything you wished for?
but you couldn't bring yourself to be happy.
was it maybe because when you thought about it, all you could picture was her face?
content: some angst, but finally fluff!!!!
authors note: im so sorry for the looooong ass late updates, im so so busy but im ab to go on break so everyone cheered!!! im back i promise:( im so excited for this part 2 i actually love it and i hope u do too!!!!
part one. part two (you're here!)
famous actress finally engaged with the famous choi su-bong, more known as 'thanos', old rapper surging back!
we all saw on Instagram the romantic proposal he prepped for her, and of course like every girl would, she said yes!
we are so happy for the married couple!
"fucking bullshit" se-mi threw her phone away with rage after reading the most liked post from the magazine's instagram.
her hands went to her face as she groaned, biting back her lip to keep the tears away.
poor dumb girl. she actually thought you were coming back to her...
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/656e4449d6dd38b77fe0540ecf3a2411/611f36703fca2001-ac/s540x810/df3d7d1f2dcd4cdaeb1905bd4a079b9f267a5d10.jpg)
"the way he proposed was so romantic, i'm glad he did it that way, it was what you always wanted ever since you were a kid" my best friend jun-hee took my hands between hers with a comforting smile. i smiled softly as i sighed.
"y-yeah. it was.." i whispered. she stares into my eyes, squeezing my hands. her expression fell, now filled with pity. she knew me more than anyone.
"you do know that you're supposed to be happy about getting married right?" she says with a lifted eyebrow as i pressed my lips.
"i am." i said, trying to convince myself.
"honey-" she murmurs as i cut her.
"i have to be." i said, turning to face myself in the mirror. streightening my skirt as i faked my best smile.
and it was true. everything was exactly how i always wanted it.
so.. why didn't it felt like it?
i heard a knock that snapped me out of my thoughts. we both turned as the door opened. "excuse me, just wanted to let you know the invitations have been sent" a girl said with a smile as i nodded, thanking her.
once she left, jun-hee stared at me. "did you sent one for.." my best friend said, stopping herself as i shuddered.
"yeah. of course. they're best friends." refering to my husband and se-mi. i put a smile to pretend i didn't cared. or at least i tried, although it didn't even reached my eyes.
if your own best friend stares at you with pity, you start to consider maybe you're not doing as well as you thought.
but i couldn't back up. not now. not ever.
"this belongs in the trash" se-mi says with a sarcastic smirk, grabbing the invitation only to crumble it with anger as min-su stops her.
"we can't just.. not go" he says to her as she stares at him, incredulous.
"do you want me to go to that fucking wedding? for what?" she spits with anger and disbelief, her voice getting louder as he sighs. he got used to seeing his best friend angered ever since the news came out.
"listen, i get it, okay? but it's our best friend's wedding. we can't just miss it" min-su says in a soft tone, trying to make her understand.
"i refuse to watch her get married." her cold voice snaps. "fuck this." she says with a groan, frustration all over her face.
"you need to move on! you know those two! yeah they hate eachother, but they're not breaking up sem. they're getting married, and probably everything that goes after that. are you just gonna avoid thanos until you die?" he says snapping as she furrows her brow, a small pout on her pierced lips without her even noticing it.
"there's nothing to move on, there was never anything between me and her right?" she says with a sigh. "i'm still not going. i fucking hate weddings" she says under her breath, going to her room to avoid the conversation. and something about that doesn't feel true, because she loves to think about you on a wedding dress. but not if it's not with.. she shakes her head to remove the thought, slamming the door. min-su sighs, his hands on his face, exhausted.
"oh god" jun-hee says with tears on her face, her eyes twinkle in awe as i laugh, a little teary.
the dress looks.. perfect. just like in my childhood dream. my perfect dream wedding.
"it was made for you" she says as i chuckle, giving a little spin for her.
i should be so happy...
"yeah.. i think we're done" i say to the girl from the store, who's standing on my side, staring at me with a soft smile. "this is it. this is the one."
i slowly head back to the changing room to remove the dress. i place back my clothes while my assistant goes to pay. i stare at myself in the mirror.
why am i not happy? why doesn't it feel like i'm getting married?
i sigh as i leave the store with my two companions.
"let's grab some coffee, it's right around the corner and im dying for some caffeine." jun-hee says as i nod.
i feel my phone buzzing on my pockets.
oh god, of course. he's always fucking forgetting about the wedding or where i am. god why am i marrying this-
my breath hitches as i grab my phone, reading the text.
this can't be happening.
not now.
oh god.
sem: a wedding?
sem: really?
of course it's her.
of course she texts me out of nowhere a fucking random tuesday at 3 pm.
of course she makes my heart beat on my chest like no one ever did. just for a fucking text.
i scoff in disbelief as my manicured nails type with anger.
me: for real?
me: this is what you're texting me?
me: after not hearing about you for fucking YEARS??????
i see the little bubble that indicates she's typing back. the fact that she hasn't left the chat since she texted me makes me bite my lip.
sem: i've seen the photos
sem: you know
sem: you dont look like someone whos excited to get married
i roll my eyes as i let out a shaky breath, she hit a nerve.
me: what do you know? you havent talked to me in years, maybe things changed.
sem: everything did.
sem: except this.
sem: why do you keep lying to yourself?
i place my phone back in my pocket with shaky hands, leaving her on seen. i place my head on my hands as i groan.
why did she had appear out of nowhere?
i was fine without.. knowing about her.
without thinking about her. without her smile. without knowing if she's seeing someone..
i was okay without her. yeah. i was perfect.
god i really need that coffee.
as i get home i watch my... fiance laying on the couch.
"did you even tried the cake samples i left?" i said with frustration as i leave my purse.
"uh, nam-gyu did, he said the black tea one was really good" he said without too much care as i stared at him disbelief.
"am i getting married to nam-gyu? because i needed MY husband to try them!" i say, standing in front of him, my hands on my hips as he rolled his eyes.
"who the fuck cares about the cake baby? no one does" he says, his arms sneaking around my waist to bring me closer to him.
"i care! i am going to be the wife in this fucking wedding and i care about the cake!" i shout angry. "and don't touch me" i let myself loose of his grip as he groans in built frustration.
"seriously? this again?" he says with a sigh, letting go.
"after the wedding" i say to him as my heart sinks. liar.
"about time" he rolls his eyes, his focus on the phone once again.
i stare at him blinking in disbelief.
this is my life?
am i gonna marry.. this idiot?
i go upstairs as i remove my outside clothes, placing on my pjs. i slowly let myself sink in bed as i grab my phone, my hands trembling as i bite my lip.
was this a good idea? no.
clearly not.
but god, i couldn't stop thinking about her.
me: are you coming?
me: to the wedding
me: i sent you an invitation
it takes her two minutes to reply.
sem: no.
oh. i chew on my bottom lip thinking about what to reply, until she texts back a few minutes later.
sem: why?
do i? do i wanna get marry, knowing she's there, staring at me?
the question is.. will i get married, knowing she's there, sitting on the crowd, watching me?
me: i want you there
the texting bubbles appear and disappear for over 10 minutes, making me extremely anxious as i wait for her reply.
sem: okay
okay what? okay that i want her there although i shouldn't? okay that-
sem: i'll see you there.
sem: consider this as my confirmation to the wedding.
i throw my phone away with shaky hands. my head sinks on my pillow, muffling my scream.
god, what have i done?
finally, today is the day.
today, i'm getting married.
the happiest day in my life. that's what everyone is saying.
so why i've been crying non stop until falling asleep?
i stared at myself, sat in front of my mirror. my makeup perfectly done, my hair loose in soft waves, the dress made just for me. it had to be like this, because this was what everyone expected from me.
i sighed as i stood up, leaving the room to go wait on the door for my entrance. i could hear the bells ringing, the wedding music. my dad appears, walking slowly until he was standing besides with a smile.
"i'm proud of you" he said, staring at front as i did too, my eyes teary. but it wasn't happiness, it was...
"everything is like it's supposed to be" i said, streightening myself. my head turned to stare at him. "am i finally the perfect daughter?" i asked my dad, my voice trembling with emotion.
he gave me a confused stare, a hint of what it looked like sadness, creeping into his stare. "it's not the wedding, it's clearly not the husband" he said as we both softly chuckled. "it's you.. you're my daughter. and i don't need you to be perfect, you being you it's all i want. your happiness. honey, nothing else matters after that." he said as i holded my tears. i bit the inside of my cheek, my heart pounding on my chest.
it's too late now, isn't it?
i could feel him interlock our arms as the doors opened. we moved one step at a time as we slowly entered the ceremony. to my wedding.
i shudder at the sight of everyone in the room, but i knew my eyes were only scanning to look for one person.
and when i found her, and my heart stopped.
she was watching me with a soft gaze, eyes almost twinkling as she roamed through my form, slowly taking my face, my body in the dress, and lastly, going up to meet my eyes. all i needed to make my heart flutter. i felt frozen in place, i could see everyone staring at me, wondering why i wasn't moving. my dad pulled my arm to get me out of my trance, but nothing worked.
i was there, stucked right where she left me.
on the last time i saw her. the last time my heart beated for her.
"if we get out of here and.. you decide that you're done being his perfect wife, and maybe you want to be happy.. with me.. i'll be waiting. i promise"
she was just as beautiful as i remembered her. of course i've seen pictures of her, but nothing like seeing her in person again.
our stare never breaking.
her eyes screamed 'please, love me'
and mine replied 'i do. but i shouldn't'
"are you okay?" my dad said, breaking the staring contest as i took reality of my surroundings. i shakily let out a small breath as i nodded with a fake smile. i kept walking to the altar, where i saw my... future husband.
right.
as i took my place, he took my hands in between his.
i trembled, and i swear i wanted to hear whatever the priest was saying. i really did.
but all my focus was on her.
was everyone blind for not noticing? or was everyone trying to pretend they couldn't tell how i stared at my husband's best friend?
when our eyes met again, i averted my gaze, trying really hard to pay attention to the priest talking on the altar to me and my future husband.
but god, i could not focus when she was here.
until i heard the priest coming to the end of his speech.
"if anyone has just cause to object to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace"
silence spreaded on the ceremony.
the quietness in the room making me shiver.
until it wasn't quiet anymore.
because everyone gasped.
and my eyes shut close.
and the quietness was replaced with whispers, with judging stares.
it wasn't quiet anymore, because she stood up.
my heart felt like it stopped in place. i could see my fiance's eyes widen, staring at se-mi like she was mad, insane.
but i knew she wasn't.
she was just in love, like i was.
and god, not from my husband.
her tall figure stood in the public, standing up as her mouth agaped like a fish. she tried to find any words to say, but she couldn't.
min-su and nam-gyu besides her, staring like if she grew a second head, completely shocked.
my eyes widen as i saw her take a sit again.
her mind was conflicted. i could tell. does she oppose? does she love quietly? what was more important? her best friend or her feelings? she shifted uncomfortably on her chair.
what was done was done, right?
fuck it. she thought, standing up once again.
everyone stared, their eyes open like never before.
"i-i oppose" she says in a weak, trembling voice. her eyes find mine, her stare pleads me to not let this keep going.
it begs me to go with her.
her hand moves to try and reach me as i watch her trembling hand and her pleading expression.
"i love you." she says with tears on her eyes.
and of course i knew this couldn't happen. of course i knew this was madness. i was about to get married. my life was buildt for this specific moment.
but my heart responded first with a sigh. not tears, not a scream, not a mad reply.
a sigh of relief.
i stare at the people sitting shocked in their seats. their gazes gravitating from her, to me and choi su-bong.
and suddenly, it's not like before. i'm not frozen in place, i'm not scared. i don't feel ashamed, i don't feel a thing.
except relief and love.
my last sign? when i stare at my parents, and they dont look at me ashamed. they're not embarrassed. they nod at me with tears in their eyes, intertwining their hands.
i get off the altar as i laugh.
a laugh of happiness. i chuckle loud and the feeling takes my entire body as i walk to her slowly. our stare never breaking as i stand in front of her, in my beautiful white dress. i reach to take her hand, the contact leaves a warm feeling on my heart.
"can we go?" are the only words that leave my lips with a shaky breath.
she stares at me, letting out an airy soft chuckle in disbelief, not believing this is happening.
"fuck, yes." is all she mutters as she moves in between the people, intertwining our hands like she never plans to release me as we run to the exit, our hearts jump in our chest.
and this is insane. i know it when we get into her rusty old car while the people gather outside to stare at us. but it doesn't matter.
it doesn't matter when my dress ruffles through the window, it doesn't matter when i buckle my seat belt with a happy smile and it certainly doesn't matter when she actually starts driving and we laugh, like a whole hearted laugh.
"you left your husband. in the altar. you left him" she says chuckling, filled with emotions. shock, disbelief, happiness.
"i- i did. and i don't regret it. god i don't regret leaving him for his.. best friend" i laugh as i stare at her. i take a deep breath as i speak "stop the car" she stops so abruptly, the car brakes.
"are you regr-" i unbuckle my seat belt as i turn aside. i cup her face in between my hands, my eyes roaming across her entire features.
this is the woman i love. it feels so good to finally say it out loud.
and i kiss her.
and is everything i always wanted to feel. it's what i expected from every single one of my ex-boyfriends. is filled with hunger, desire, passion and love.
and my heart feels warm and i know now exactly what love was supposed to feel like.
the kiss lowers to something softer, one of her hands goes to my cheek, caressing it with her thumb as my hand moves to the nape of her neck, pulling her closer. her other hand roams through my body to grip my waist.
"this feels like a dream" she mumbles in between kisses.
"i know, i know" i replied as i kissed her again and again, love-drunk. "but it's not. i'm yours se-mi. i'm completely yours" i whispered against her lips as she nodded excited. her nose softly caressing mine, an intimate gesture.
"can i start the car and get the fuck out of here, please? because i never want to look back" she says breaking the kiss. i nod happily.
"please, start the fucking car" i chuckle as i go back to my seat, connecting to the bluetooth of her car, i look at the playlist on my phone until i find the one.
"i am not the kind of girl
who should be rudely barging in on a white veil occasion
but you are not the kind of boy
who should be marrying the wrong girl"
she smacks me softly as she listens to the lyrics, rolling her eyes as i snort.
and as my eyes find hers, i know i finally am where i belong.

Sweetheart
Steve Rogers x Reader feat. Avengers
Summary: A simple game slowly leads to a lifetime.
Warnings: a few swear words, some very hot scenes, fluffity fluff, mutual pining, mentions of nomad Steve specifically his hair and beard (yes! that's a warning), reader wearing Steve's hoodie (also a warning, gets me every time, and yes I did write a whole fic about it Hoodie)
Word Count: 3.5k
Notes: I wrote this with a female reader in mind but I think it works for any gender, there are no pronouns used and no use of Y/n, Steve calls reader sweetheart.
Everyone was drinking and having a good time. Tony remembered something he had seen earlier in the day and decided now was the best time to bring it up.
"Y-You know it's weird how fasc-cinated the public is with us" He slurred, waving his scotch around and spilling it slightly.
"How's that, Tones?" You questioned while blinking abnormally fast.
"I saw a-a thhhing on my phone, said vote on each 'venger's best look"
"Like Nat's 'I'm gonna kill you so bad' look?"
"No, ap-pearanceses"
"Ooooh, that's kinda strange, isn't it?"
"What?" Stephen asked as he flung his head up, only hearing the word 'strange'.
"Not you, Dr Otter" You and Tony replied at the same time followed by a small exclamation of acknowledgement.
"It's like a quiz" Tony continued.
"What?" Clint asked.
"The thing I was just talking about"
"Oh, right. A quiz?"
"Yeah, wanna do it?"
"I don't know, I'm not good on tests"
"It's not- It's opinions, not right or wrong"
"Okay, shoot"
Tony cast his phone to the large TV in front of everyone and started the quiz.
"What is the le-legendary genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, Tony Stark himself, 's best look?" He read off the screen.
"You always look pretty much the same" Nat stated.
"First one, little scruffy" Steve said simply.
"Yeah, his hair's cute when it's floppy, like you could run a hand through it and it'd still look adorable" You agreed.
"Adorable? Drunk you is pretty honest, this is gonna be fun" Tony smirked "Natasha Romanoff, the fierce woman of the avengers"
"Oh God" She sighed.
"The half red half blonde, super cute, especially in a braid" You smiled at her.
"I'd have to agree" Bruce added.
"Next, The God of Thunder and long hair, what's Thor's best look?"
"Ooh, the short one!" You exclaimed.
"How dare you?! That was not consensual!" Thor boomed.
"Sorry sweetie, but you've got to admit, it was hot"
"Pfft!" Loki laughed out.
"Did you just go pfft? You don't pfft" Bruce turned to him.
"My brother is not that hot"
"I think Happy's shirt would beg to differ" You counter.
"What about your mug?"
"I don't know what you are referring to"
"The mug that has 'This meeting would be a lot better if one of you were Loki' written across it"
"Oh, that mug. That and Happy's shirt were gag gifts from Tony, like Cap's Cap cap"
"Pardon?"
"Tony got Steve a cap with his Captain America logo on it, so it's Cap's Cap cap"
"You mortals are pointlessly confusing"
"Alright next question, speaking of Gods, Loki the God of Mischief and sexiness has great hair as everyone knows but what look suits him best?"
"I am beginning to like this quiz after all"
"Christmas tree" Nat states blankly.
"I am not beginning to like this. What do you mean Christmas tree?!"
"In New York, your hair had the outline of a Christmas tree. Don't look at me like that, they put tinsel in it" She points to you and Sam.
"ThAt WaS yOu?!"
"He dared me!"
"You said dare me to put tinsel in Loki's hair, I didn't do shit"
"Until I had the tinsel"
"Well it was already there"
"By the great heavenly kingdom of Valhalla I swear I will-"
"Tony, why don't we just move onto the next question?" Steve tried to diffuse the situation before Loki turned everyone into frogs, again.
"The question we've all been waiting for, the most gorgeous avenger, Bucky Barnes!"
"He's the most gorgeous?" Nat asked, a twinge of jealously in her tone.
"You're way prettier than Bucky" You reassured her.
"Hey?" Bucky lightly hit your arm.
"She is" You shrugged.
"Stevie, who's prettier?" Bucky looked to his friend.
"I don't want to choose between my friends"
"Come on, Captain"
"Uh, um.....neither"
"What?" They both blurted out in shock.
"You are" He said softly as he looked into your eyes.
"Th-thank you" You blushed.
"Of course he picked you" Bucky grumbled.
"And last but certainly not least, the very handsome face of the Avengers, Steve Rogers"
"Nomad Steve" You spoke a little too quickly.
"Really?" He asked you.
"Uh-yeah"
"Oh I toootally agree" Sam responded "That slightly long hair, a little unkept"
"And that beard" Bucky agreed.
"And the way he looks like he could just pin you up against a wall and-" You saw everyone looking at you and Steve's face covered in a bright red blush "I'm oversharring again, aren't I?"
"Yes" Bruce said, sitting in the corner, just a little mortified.
"I think that's enough for the night, I'm going to bed" You almost beckon from halfway down the hall already.
You thought that would be the end of the topic, after a while you didn't really think of it at all. Not long after, Steve had to go on a mission and boy did he have a surprise for you when he got back. The mission lasted about a month and you were really beginning to miss him. One evening you opened the door to your room and felt something behind you, someone. They pushed you into your room and slammed the door shut, they spun you around and you saw that it was Steve. You lit up instantly by just seeing his face, he had grown his beard back and his hair was a little messy and longer. Just as you were about to open your mouth to compliment him on the new-old look he pushed you against the wall, no, he pinned you against the wall. He held your wrists tight by your sides, you saw the look of desire in his dark clouded eyes. Before you knew it his lips were on yours, moving fiercely and hastily, full of passion and lust. As he pulled away he bit your bottom lip lightly, causing you to let out a soft whimper. The sound almost making him drop his tough exterior.
"This what you wanted?" His voice was deep and rough, making your body quiver.
"God yes" You breathed out shakily.
He transferred his grip on your wrists to your waist. He lifted you like you were nothing, like you weighed less than a feather. You wrapped your legs around his hips and grasped his neck in your hands, clinging on and keeping him close. He held you up against the wall as he continued kissing you roughly, deeply. You could feel your stomach aching, your whole body was aching, for him. He could feel the heat radiating off you as he trail open mouthed kisses down your jaw and it was addictive. You tilted your head back and to the side, giving him better access to your neck. He found that soft spot under your ear that made you moan so sweetly and his lips latched on. He sucked and bit marks that were sure to turn bright purple and he ran his tongue back over the spot gently, soothing your inflamed skin.
He kept up this pace, kissing and sucking and biting and licking all over your neck and upper chest. You tugged on his hair, rough enough that it made him bite your shoulder, hard. The sensation of his teeth sinking that far into you made you throw your head back even further and let out an almost primal, animalistic moan that just spurred him on all the more.
His fingers dug into your hips, certain to leave bruises you would admire for days. He pulled you off the wall and sat you on your dresser.
"Y-you know" You began, your words near breathy moans at this point "The bed's over there"
"Soon. First I want you on every surface possible"
His tone mixed with his words made your breath hitch, you could've sworn your heart stopped for just a moment. One of his hands came up and ripped your shirt off. He tossed it to the side and you toyed with the hem of his. You pulled it up slowly, running your fingers over the taught muscles of his body. You pulled the shirt over his head and when his hands returned to you they were on your thighs. His lips flew down your neck and to your chest. He kissed every inch of you within his reach, the feel of him all over you, hot and wet. He undid the top button of your pants and lifted you again. Your hands moved from his neck and discarded your pants on the floor. He carried you to the couch and laid you down. He hovered over you and you scrambled for his belt.
"Uh uh, not yet" The teasing in his tone made you squirm under him.
"Well that's not very fair is it?"
"Life's not fair sweetheart"
He continued his mission, his mouth was all over you. He moved down the couch, sitting between your legs. It was quite a sight, Steve Rogers, Captain America, America's golden boy, situated between your legs, looking up at you with the gaze of a starved animal. He took one of your legs, started at your ankle and kissed his way down. The contrast between your silky smooth skin and his rough scratchy beard made you grateful to be alive. He moved tantalisingly slow, never breaking eye contact for a second. It was like your eyes were tethered to stare at each other forever and you wouldn't have it any other way. You looked down past your heaving chest to see your knee slung over his shoulder. His chest was pressed up into the back of your thigh, pushing your muscles just right. His lips went so low, so close, so far down your inner thigh and he pulled away. The bastard pulled away. You never would have thought he'd be a tease. He did the same to your other leg, starting at the ankle and working his way almost all the way down. He laid down, his shoulders under both of your legs and he got so close. He kissed your lower stomach and he moved down. Finally, you thought. He kissed over the top of your underwear, taking the waist band in his teeth, pulling just a few inches away and releasing it, flicking against your body. He pulled even further away, devastating you.
"Steve" You whined "What the fuck are you doing?"
"Watch out or I'll have to put that dirty mouth of yours to good use"
"Please do"
He chuckled low, the sound reverberating through you and sending shivers down your spine. You kissed him again, this time soft and sweet, full of the love you had been hiding for so long.
He pulled away and stared down at you, at your beautiful face. He meant what he said that day, he thought you were beautiful, so beautiful it hurt. It hurt when he saw you get all dressed up for galas and charity events in those fancy clothes that fit your body so well. Or when you'd go out to clubs with Nat and Sam, those two always dragged you out, trying to get you to meet someone but you were never interested. For so long it had only been Steve. Wearing something outrageously short for the '40s like Steve was used to, but you looked amazing, you looked amazing in anything. He remembered the first time you trained together and you wore skin tight workout gear, he barely made it through the hour. But his favourite, his absolute favourite, was when you had just woken up. When your hair was all messy and your eyes were only half open. You'd say good morning in a raspy voice full of sleep and you'd smile at him so softly he thought he'd melt. All he wanted was to see that smile and hear that voice every morning for the rest of his life. One day was just, he didn't know quite what. It was an oddly chilly morning for that time of year and all of your winter clothes were packed away. You looked through the freshly washed laundry you had done the day before and you found a blue hoodie, it looked so comfortable and soft and most importantly warm. You pulled it on over your head and it fell halfway down your thighs, just covering the pyjama shorts you were wearing. You walked down the hall and into the kitchen like you did every morning. You greeted Steve and he greeted you back before noticing what you were wearing. It looked like you were wearing his hoodie, only his hoodie, nothing else. He blinked for a moment, opening and closing his mouth, trying to speak but not knowing what to say. You reached up to grab a mug off the top shelf and the hoodie rose up. He didn't want to look, no that was a lie, he thought he shouldn't look but he couldn't help himself. When he was met with the sight of your shorts you could say he was more than a little disappointed. You turned around and saw him staring at you.
"What?" You laughed "I can't have something in my teeth, I haven't eaten yet"
"I-is that my hoodie?"
"Oh, that's who. I'm sorry, it was in my laundry and I was cold. I can give it back"
"No you look nice. Nice and warm" He only just caught and corrected himself.
"Thanks"
He didn't know it yet but ever since that day, whenever you were feeling sad you wore his hoodie and it comforted you more than anything else.
He brought himself out of his memory haze and back to now, to you. He saw you looking up at him, wondering what he was thinking. He leaned down and whispered into your ear, his breath hot against your skin.
"Sweetheart, you've been so good, it's time for your reward"
He picked you up and you latched onto him once again. This time he finally took you to the bed. He laid you down so soft and gentle like he was handling something so precious, he was. He tucked a strand of hair behind your ear and his finger trailed down your cheekbone. His hand moved back to cradle your head and his thumb caressed your cheek so lovingly. His usually innocent blue eyes stared into yours, boring into your soul. The two of you truly connected, in a way neither of you had with anyone else, only each other.
You woke up the next morning, in his arms. You couldn't believe you were finally where you had dreamed of being for so long. In fact you actually pinched yourself, just to be sure. You couldn't help but smile even brighter when you looked back up to see him looking down at you. This was one of those moments you'd experienced so many times before. It took you completely out of the moment and you noticed just how pretty he really was. His eyes, full of so much hope and joy matched with pain and sadness. His eyes, full of time, years of time and he wanted to spent the rest of it with you. He laid on his back, his chest rising and falling with his steady breaths. His right hand was snaked around your waist, even in his sleep his grip never faltered. You laid on your left side, your cheek on his chest, snuggled up to him. Your right hand was laying across his body, tracing random patterns slowly.
"Morning" There it was, there was that sweet, soft, raspy voice he had longed for.
"Morning sweetheart"
You giggled slightly at the pet name, your pet name. He called you that because to him, that's what you were. You were so sweet he thought he'd get a cavity. You always did whatever you could for others, sometimes they knew and sometimes they didn't. Like the way you helped Bucky. When he first came to the tower he only had Steve, Tony was still upset with him and after hearing what had just transpired the rest of the team weren't very welcoming. But you were different. You trusted Steve's judgement and you welcomed Bucky. He stayed in Steve's room for a while, still too scared to be alone in a tower full of people who didn't much care for him. You decided the best way to get to know Bucky and hopefully help him was to get to know him in a setting he felt comfortable in. You brought a sleeping bag to Steve's room and explained your thinking. Bucky was offered the bed and the couch but he still chose the floor, so you joined him. Steve was in his room with the door open and you and Bucky were in the small living room attached. He was by Steve's door and you kept you distance, trying not to crowd him by sleeping on the other side of the room. He curled up and faced away from you. You heard him gasp for air as he came out of a nightmare. You slowly approached him and took his flesh hand in both of yours. You were gentle but your grasp was firm, reassuring him that he wasn't in his nightmare. Steve got up and came to the door but you shook your head and he stepped back. He trusted you too and he knew that you had a lot of experience with nightmares, you helped him after all. You slept with Bucky on Steve's floor for a month, until Bucky was ready to go to his own room. You slept on his floor for the first night, then you returned to your own room, next door. Sharing a wall, you were able to hear when he had a nightmare and you always came and sat with him like you did that first night. Thankfully, after some time, the nightmares were a rare occasion for him.
Steve loved how you cared for his friend, for everyone. He was the only one who noticed the small things you did. One of the simplest but kindest being whenever you would go to the grocery store you would buy a box of pop-tarts, a dozen plums, a bag of decaf coffee and a punnet of blueberries. Pop-tarts for Thor because he ate them at an alarming rate, plums for Bucky of course, decaf coffee because it always worried you how much coffee Tony drank, so you would replace it with decaf whenever you had the chance, and blueberries also for Tony, he liked having a snack while he worked and they distracted from the coffee.
There were other little things you'd do that just made Steve fall for you even more. If someone had a tough mission you'd cook their favourite meal for dinner, perfectly, and if their suit was torn you'd sew it up. They didn't ask you to or expect you to but you'd just take it and return it to them, fully mended and cleaned. Whenever you noticed his pencils were getting short or his sketchbook was getting full you'd go to the little store that had the supplies he liked. You wouldn't make a fuss about it, you usually just left a book and a box of pencils on his bedside table. And God, did he love to draw you. The first time he tried he obsessed over it, wanting the sketch to be as perfect as you. After a while it became almost mindless, if he didn't know what to draw he'd find himself drawing you.
He looked down at you now, lying in his arms with a huge smile on your face.
"I love you" It just slipped out, he meant it, he did love you but he didn't want to scare you off. He panicked for a moment when you didn't respond.
"I love you too"
He sighed a huge breath of relief "You know you're everything to me, right?"
"I do now"
You brought your hand up to his cheek, you thumb ghosted over his lips.
"You call me sweetheart"
"I do"
"Why?"
"Because you're so kind and giving, you always put the team first and you're well, sweet. Like with the pop-tarts and plums"
"You're the reason"
"What do you mean?"
"I saw your face when I got you a sketchbook or when I got Bucky plums, you know, small things. I saw the way you looked at me or at least the way I hoped you looked at me and I wanted to see that look again"
"Really?"
"Why else do you think we have plum pies every other week? Or enough Pop-tarts to feed an army, or I guess Thor for a couple weeks"
"You did that just to see me happy when I was watching you?"
"Yeah" You said nervously, hoping he wouldn't think you were quite as pathetic as you felt.
"God, I love you"
He pulled you into a kiss and you could feel his smile against your lips.

requesting some will samy angst where maybe one of them picks a fight on the phone or on face time while they’re doing long distance and then by the end of the call they realize that they were only doing that because they missed the other?
UGH yes in the end they'd be so 🥺 when they realize they really just miss one another. angst to fluff my fav
au masterlist
"you barely texted me all day," samy immediately said when she finally answered her boyfriend's call at almost 10pm.
"i'm sorry..things were crazy today. i got caught up," will mumbled but for some reason his apology wasn't sitting right in samy's head.
"you could've at least told me you were gonna be busy," she continued with the semi-angry tone. the blonde frowned to himself, struggling to make up for hardly answering her all day.
"i should've. 'm sorry," will really did have a long day. there was media every hour that they weren't practicing and press people wanted to kow..he hardly had time to even sit down and think before someone new came in wanting and interview and/or photos for their blogs.
it was the worser side of the job the blonde didn't really enjoy. he was there to play hockey, not sit in front of ten different cameras answering nonstop questions that were way too personal for his liking.
"what's even been up with you lately? you've felt so..i dunno..distant.." samy wasn't afraid to call it what it was anymore. after things escalated between them last summer, she knew better than to let things slide.
however, will did not take it that way, "what's that supposed to mean?"
"i get you're busy, i am too, but it feels like i've barely heard from you all week. we hardly text. we hardly talk," samy's voice faded like she hesitated saying the last part.
the hockey player's expression hardened even though she couldn't see it, "oh so now you're trying to accuse me of something?"
"no, i was never accusing you of something," the younger hughes immediately shot back.
"then what are you trying to say?"
"what are you trying to say? is there something i should be accusing you of?" now both of their tones turned sour. after a long four months of will proving to samy that he deserved her full trust, she put it all into him. she trusted him completely, but right now it wasn't really feeling that way.
"what the fuck? no? what the fuck would i even be doing that would put me in that position?" now will was just mad because it mostly hurt him how fast samy was to assume that he would turn around and hurt her like that again.
"i don't know, you tell me, will. you're the one that hasn't even been answering my texts," the girl shot back again.
"so you're just gonna assume that i did something then? not that i could just be super busy and i've had a really long day talking to a million different people with a camera in my face and i just couldn't have the time to text you?"
a deafening silence fell between them. will heard a sigh escape samy's lips and he quickly realized how harsh what he just said sounded. the guilt of being rude quickly washed over the hockey player. he knew samy's trust really could break at any moment with him and none of what he just said helped any of that.
"okay, sorry. i..i don't know why i said that. you're right. you're busy," when samy spoke again her voice was small and wavering like she was going to cry.
will instantly felt bad, "wait, fuck, no, no. i'm sorry. i shouldn't have snapped like that. i shouldn't have..i'm sorry."
god, he was so stupid sometimes.
"i'm sorry. i have been busy, but i should have texted you and told you. i'm sorry i didn't. it's just been a crazy long day and i haven't like had a second to breathe with every reporter wanted to shove a camera and mic in my face. i think i answered like a hundred questions about myself and personal life today," will admitted in a softer tone when samy didn't respond right away.
"i didn't mean to snap either. i'm sorry. i guess we both had long days. i just..i really like talking to you and i got worried when i barely heard from you all day," samy nervously thumbed her little braid.
"i really like talking to you too. talking to you is the highlight of my day and i do always look forward to it. i didn't mean to worry you. i'm sorry again. if it's any consolation, i did talk about you quite a lot though," when he heard the girl giggle, he knew it was okay again.
"really?"
"god, they love asking about you, but i love talking about you so it works out. it was just little things about our relationship. i bragged about you when i could," will could picture samy blushing hearing him say that and he was right. her cheeks were bright red.
"i'm flattered. sounds intense," she hummed.
"it was, but luckily we're done with it for now. i promise that i will try to text you more and especially let you know when i'll be more busy. god, i really miss you," the hockey player admitted. there were so many days he wished samy was a half an hour drive away still so he could just lay in her arms when his day was hard.
today especially he missed her like crazy. it was probably why he seemed to talk about her in almost every interview even when he wasn't asked first because she was the only thing on his mind.
"i really miss you, too. feels like it's been forever since i saw you," the brunette sighed.
"i know. i have no idea when i'm free again," probably not until summer will guessed and that was still so long from now.
"yeah, me neither." samy and hannah were going abroad for spring break—a trip they'd been planning since literally last year after hannah saying she really wanted to go to italy, so samy didn't know when the next time she could fly to the west coast would be.
"maybe i can escape to italty with you and hannah," will joked a little.
"you should. the almafi coast is calling our name."
one day will would get there with samy and maybe even then they'd be more than just boyfriend and girlfriend. something more like husband and wife sounded right.
"i love you. i miss you. i'm sorry again," will finally said with a small smile.
"i love you a lot. i'm glad we talked. it was real good hearing from you," samy smiled too.
"i promise i'll text. if i don't just like spam me or something," the girl giggled at his words.
"i love, love, love you," they exchanged their goofy, loving goodbye and the little fight they had was far from their minds.

hey there! I really love your writing, could I request for shadow reacting to reader going down the same path as him after losing a loved one? Like maybe reader also used to be happy and cheerful but became cold and closed off after that?
“I Know Your Pain”
Pairing: Shadow the Hedgehog x Reader
Requested: Yes (by an anon).
Description: It hurt. It hurt so much to lose people so close to you. You thought nobody would be able to feel your pain. But luckily, someone did.
Notes: Ahhhhh more angst!! I really hope you like this one, anon! (And- sorry for the lack of posts-)
(Reader will be gender-neutral.)
(Not proof-read/beta-read.)
(TWs: Mentions of death, death shown in writing, swearing.)
– – – – – – – – – – – –
No. No. NonononononoNONONONO!
“MOM! DAD!” you cry out, rushing over to your parents.
They appear to be on the ground, unmoving, with a large pool of blood around each of them.
You check for a pulse, anything to make sure they’re still alive, but…nothing.
They’re gone. Dead. And you couldn’t protect them.
Tears threaten to fall down your face, but you force them not to.
No, crying isn’t what you need right now.
What you need is-
“Revenge,” you mutter to yourself. “I’ll avenge you both. I promise.”
You get up off your knees and exit the home, a patch with the letters G.U.N. sliding into frame as the screen fades to black.
As the screen fades back in, we see Team Dark in a G.U.N. meeting, with Shadow being bored out of his mind. He didn’t even work for G.U.N., and neither did Rouge or Omega, so why were they all here?
Before he has too much time to question it, a huge explosion can be heard nearby, causing his ears to flick.
“(Must be the doctor,)” Shadow thinks to himself. “(Finally, an excuse to get out of this boring meeting.)”
“Wonder who that could be,” Rouge says to no one in particular.
“I’ll take care of it,” Shadow says, getting out of his chair. “Rouge, you and Omega should get everyone to safety. Just in case this place goes down.”
“Be careful, hun,” Rouge says.
“I WISH TO ASSIST YOU IN THE FIGHT,” Omega states.
“I’ll call you if I need backup. But I’ll be fine,” Shadow states.
“ANGRY. SETTINGS SET TO “BACKUP FIGHTER,”” Omega says.
Shadow teleports out of the meeting room to where the explosion happened. He cringes a bit at the amount of bodies.
His ear flicks due to a sudden noise, and he catches a piece of rubble that was coming his way with one hand.
Following the bodies, Shadow quickly comes across the culprit, which causes his eyes to widen.
You.
The person who was once so nice and caring, with your eyes filled with joy, were now filled with hatred and spite, a scowl adorning your face.
You slam a G.U.N. agent into the ground, you hand on the back of his head.
“WHICH OF YOU FUCKERS KILLED MY PARENTS?!” you yell.
“[Name]!” Shadow calls out.
You quickly turn your head towards Shadow and your scowl falls, with you releasing the agent, who scrambles away from you.
“Shadow…You…what are you doing here?” you ask.
“I could ask you the same thing,” he says. “What happened?”
You go silent for a moment.
“They killed my parents, Shadow,” you mutter. “These bastards shot them dead.”
Shadow seems surprised, his ears flattening back a bit.
“I…I just…” you start before putting your hands over your mouth. “Oh god, what am I doing…?”
You take in the damage you’ve done around you, falling to your knees.
Shadow is near you in an instant, pulling you into a tight hug.
For the first time since your parents’ deaths, you choke out a sob, allowing the tears to flow freely down your face as you return the hug just as tightly, your eyes squeezing shut as you cry.
You weren’t alone in this feeling, and Shadow wasn’t going to leave you.
You were safe.

To this day, I am still convinced that Sari was originally going to be revealed as Megatron's daughter. A protoform just happened to appear im the same building Megatron was? You're telling me that when that protoform scanned Mr. Sumdac it just happened to pop out a baby that looked like him but with red-tinged eyes and hair?? As if said baby shared genetics with someone who has red eyes and detailing??? Clearly the writers chickened out because otherwise MegOp coparenting would have been a real possibility on the table 😤
Anon come here and let me kiss you.
Because you are right. Hazbro were cowards to not let Sari be Megatrons daughter. Because we all know in the show Optimus was 100% the dad to Prowl, Bulkhead, and Bee. And Sari came along and made it 4 kids, 4 siblings.
So if we allowed those two to have a relationship the co parenting would be so much better than what Sumdac provided, because ngl i don't think he did things all that well.
Like he built her a tutor bot instead of paying someone to come and teach her, or send her to privet school? She had to take care of him at a young age because he would be in his labs for days on end she'd get scared he'd be dead for not taking care of himself. Like that shouldn't be a concern for a child to have.
Plus she also has no friends because she was possibly stuck inside, and had developed no social skills outside the robots Sumdac made. It's why she got along great with team prime because they were not human. That's not normal.
ALSO why did he never made her a SSN, birth certificate, He's Issac fucking Sumdac, he can pay someone to make her those. Not in the 8 years he had her did he fucking think to do that!?
Sorry, I just had to say that.
Anyways
Yes Hazbro is a cowered for not giving Sari backstory as being Megatron's daughter.

AN: as requested a Hardersson one
Warning: Smoking cigarettes, Asthma mentioned and Google translate used
Summary:your moms find cigarettes in your room.
You had no idea what was waiting for you at Home. But you found out rather quickly. As soon as you walked into the Apartment.
"y/n Smilla Eriksson-Harder!kom till vardagsrummet nu!(come to the living room right now!)" Your Mama(Magda) said in a tone that let you know you were in trouble. Not that the full name use wasn't an idication for that already. You swallowed and walked into the livingroom.
"what's wrong?" You asked, biting down on your bottom lip.
"er der noget du vil fortælle os?(is there something you want to tell us?)" Your mom(Pernille) asked. You shook your head no.
"ikke rigtig!(not really!)" You answered, having no idea what was going on.
"er det sådan?(is that so?)" Your mom tried again. Holding up the Pack of cigarettes, she had found while putting away some laundry in your sock drawer.
"vill du förklara?(care to explain?)" Your mama asked, crossing her arms over her chest. You looked down and sighed softly.
"måste jag?(do I have to?)" You wanted to know. Not really ready to talk about this. Magda looked like she was about to lose it.
"ja! rökning är farligt!(yes! smoking is dangerous!)" She told you.
"din mor har ret! du har astma, kære!(your Mama is right! you have Asthma, love!)" Pernille replied. Trying to bring into some calm Energy cause you Mama was freaking out.
"de är inte mina!(those aren't mine!)" You explained. Sighing softly.
This did calm down your Mama a bit. She was only this angry cause she was stressed. You had a few health scares growing up and she was always worrying about you. Not that your Mom wasn't worried about you but Magda surprisingly sure was the stressed out parent and more emotional.
"hvem tilhører de?(who do they belong to?)" Pernille wanted to know.
"Jeg kan ikke fortælle dig det!(I can't tell you!)" You stated. Looking away. You couldn't tell them cause the cigarettes belonged to your twin brother Iver Jerik Eriksson-Harder. And you were the one that took them away from him cause you didn't want him to smoke them . Worried about his health. You two were 16 after all.
"älskling, jag tror dig.(sweetheart, i believe you.)" Magda answered. "men jag behöver fortfarande veta varför du hade cigaretterna i ditt rum och vem de tillhör." Your Mama spoke up again.
You looked at her and then your Mom.
"Jeg kan virkelig ikke sige noget. kun at jeg bare tog dem fra den person, de tilhører, fordi jeg ikke ville have dem til at ryge. (I really can't say anything. only that I just took them away from the person they belong to because I didn't want them to smoke.)" You wanted to say something else but another voice spoke up. Entering the room.
"de tilhører mig.(they belong to me.)" Your twin brother told your moms. Pernille and Magda looked at him.
"du er i problemer.(you are in trouble.)" Your mom let your twin know.
"jeg ved det. jeg er ked af det.(i know. i am sorry.)" Iver replied and sighed softly.
Your mama hugged you and you hugged back.
"jag är ledsen för att jag anklagar dig!(i am sorry for accusing you!)" She told you.
"det är bra!(It's fine)" You replied and smiled slightly. "nu till dig, du är jordad.(now to you, you are grounded.)" Your Mama said, turning to your twin brother.
"det är rättvist.(that's fair.)" He nodded his head.
Your brother was grounded for two weeks, so you tried to spent as much time at home as possible so he wouldn't be alone so much. But you had practice and games to Focus on. And your new girlfriend. So of ourse you wanted to spent time with her as well.

Can you please write headcannons for rings of power elves where they see the reader in nothing but an oversized tunic or an outfit considered to be revealing.
(I am so sorry this is my first time ever requesting I'm not sure what I'm doing or if a request like this is allowed). Thank you for your time :)
Gil-Galad, Celebrimbor version below.
🏵️𝓖𝓲𝓵-𝓰𝓪𝓵𝓪𝓭
The night had settled in, the vast silence of Lindon broken only by the crackling of the hearth. The glow from the fire cast flickering shadows on the stone walls of the guest chambers, where you were momentarily alone, waiting for your host—Gil-galad. You had tried to ease the tension of the evening, slipping into something comfortable. The oversized tunic, soft and loose, was more of an afterthought. As it fell loosely over your form, you couldn’t help but feel a bit vulnerable. It draped too freely, slipping from your shoulder just enough to expose more of your skin than you intended. Still, it was late, and you were in the privacy of your chambers. You’d never admit how it made you feel, but standing there now, you realized it might not be the most fitting attire for someone of his station.
You heard the soft sound of footsteps approaching, and a quiet but unmistakable feeling washed over you: Gil-galad was near. You hesitated for a moment, before deciding to step into his view. As you emerged from the shadows, your heart pounded with uncertainty. Gil-galad, as regal and composed as always, stood at the doorway. He had not expected this moment. His eyes locked onto you immediately, the very air around him tightening. His gaze shifted, traveling over you with a deliberation that spoke volumes, yet not a word escaped his lips.
For a split second, you saw the High King falter. His features, usually so controlled, betrayed the briefest flicker of surprise, followed by the subtle tightening of his jaw, and a quiet breath he didn’t quite mean to release. He stood still, his tall figure almost towering against the warm glow of the hearth. He was a king, yes, but in this moment, you could see the man behind the ruler, wrestling with something deeper. His eyes remained fixed on you, an odd mixture of admiration, concern, and something more indefinable—a silent conflict he would never fully voice.
Gil-galad’s voice was calm when he finally spoke, though there was a quiet tension threading his words. “You are… most unexpected.” His gaze remained steady, not wandering, but neither was it warm. It was distant, perhaps too controlled. His eyes, usually so sharp and commanding, seemed to soften just slightly, and yet, he maintained his distance. “You must forgive me, but such attire is…” He paused, choosing his words with great care. “Not what I would have anticipated for an audience with a king.” His voice, deep and soft, carried the weight of someone who had lived through countless battles, and yet, there was a subtle tremor in his tone. A king could face armies, but how could he face this?
You stood before him, feeling an uncomfortable vulnerability creeping up your spine, but there was no turning back now. You tilted your head, perhaps in defiance, perhaps in curiosity. “I am not here to be a display of propriety, my lord,” you answered, your voice steady, though your heart raced. “The tunic is what I felt most at ease in, considering the hour. I meant no offense.” There was an odd mixture of playfulness and challenge in your tone, but it did not go unnoticed by Gil-galad. His jaw tightened for a moment, but his eyes never left you. He was clearly taking a moment to reassess his reaction, and though he had the authority to correct you, he seemed reluctant to do so—perhaps even uncertain.
“I did not mean to suggest offense,” he replied slowly, his voice quieter now, almost introspective. “But… you must understand, the ways of the Noldor are not so forgiving.” His words carried a heavy sense of responsibility, of tradition. “As High King, I must maintain a certain standard—one that has been carefully preserved across many ages.” But even in his words, you could sense the weight of his restraint. Beneath it, there was something else—a flicker, something more human, perhaps even appreciative. Gil-galad was not blind to your beauty, but it was clear that he struggled with how to reconcile the moment with his sense of duty.
He took a cautious step toward you, the distance between you shrinking slightly, yet he still kept a respectful distance. His gaze softened then, as if fighting to keep his emotions in check. “Though I cannot say I fully understand the choice of your attire,” he continued, his voice low, almost regretful, “I trust that you are in my house, and my care. Your comfort is of the utmost importance.” There was something deeply sincere in his words, the earnestness cutting through the tension. But then, his eyes narrowed slightly, a rare flicker of vulnerability breaking through the composed shell he kept so well-guarded.
“Still,” he said, almost in a whisper, “I would not want you to feel that you must dress in a manner that is—” He stopped, clearly wrestling with his own thoughts. “—inappropriate for the company you keep.” There was an undeniable softness now, a quiet understanding that seemed to flicker in his eyes. And then, as though unable to hold back, he added with a certain warmth, “You need not worry about offending me, not in that way.” The fire crackled in the background, but for a moment, everything felt still between you both. His words had softened, and the cold distance between you had been bridged, even if only a fraction.
A small silence stretched between you before you spoke again. “I didn’t wish to offend, my lord,” you replied, this time with a quiet smile that softened the edges of the tension. “But I also will not change simply to meet expectations. I’ve come to appreciate the freedom here in Lindon, where the weight of formality does not press so heavily.” Gil-galad’s lips twitched, as though considering your words. The tension in his shoulders eased just slightly, but there was still a deep wariness in his eyes.
“You have my respect,” he finally said, his voice steady again, but tinged with a quiet affection. “I only wish to ensure your well-being here.” He gave you a brief, almost imperceptible nod, his manner returning to the dignified King that he was. But you could see it—there, just behind his usual calm—was a shift. Perhaps in his perception of you. And for a fleeting moment, you could almost feel him reconsidering the nature of his authority, realizing that it wasn’t just his kingdom or his people that mattered. It was something… more. In that silence, the space between you two felt less like a ruler and a subject and more like two people, navigating a moment too delicate for words.
Another version
The chambers of Lindon were quiet, illuminated only by the warm flicker of the hearth casting soft golden light against the stone walls. Outside, the sound of the distant sea hummed faintly, a soothing melody to the stillness of the night. Gil-galad approached the door to check on you, his steps measured, though his mind was burdened with the weight of countless responsibilities. He knocked gently and entered without waiting for a reply—an unspoken trust lingering between you both. His regal bearing filled the room as he stepped inside, his silver and blue robes trailing behind him.
His gaze fell on you immediately, standing by the hearth. You shifted slightly, the loose tunic—his tunic—hanging off your frame in an oversized, almost haphazard fashion. The fabric, fine and delicate, slipped slightly from your shoulder, revealing more than propriety might deem appropriate. It was clear you hadn’t planned to be seen like this, but there was no retreat now.
Gil-galad paused, a flicker of surprise crossing his otherwise composed face. His sharp eyes softened almost imperceptibly as he took in the sight before him. He said nothing at first, his lips pressed together, but the faintest upward twitch of his mouth betrayed him. “Is this… intentional?” he finally asked, his voice calm but tinged with amusement. His tone carried that regal authority he couldn’t quite put down, even in moments of informality.
Your cheeks warmed under his steady gaze, though you managed to keep your composure. “It wasn’t,” you admitted, smoothing the fabric awkwardly. “Your people insisted I change into something more comfortable while my clothes dried. They thought this was appropriate, apparently.”
Gil-galad raised an eyebrow, stepping closer, his tall figure seeming to fill the room. “And of all the garments available in Lindon, they chose mine?” He folded his arms across his chest, his tone measured, though there was a glimmer of teasing curiosity in his eyes. “It was handed to me,” you countered, meeting his gaze with defiance. “Do you think I would have picked this on purpose?”
He tilted his head slightly, his expression unreadable now as his eyes flickered to where the tunic hung loosely on your frame. The delicate slip of fabric from your shoulder caught his attention for just a moment too long, and he quickly averted his gaze, clearing his throat. “What a king’s tunic handed to my guest?” he mused aloud, his voice calm but edged with curiosity. “I don’t think it’s coincidence.” His eyes met yours again, now glinting with subtle amusement, though his tone remained regal.
“Either my attendants have a very peculiar sense of humor… or they’re trying to make a statement.” “A statement?” you repeated, raising an eyebrow. “I wasn’t aware oversized clothes could be so political.”
“In this case,” he said smoothly, stepping closer, his towering presence filling the space between you, “it speaks volumes. A guest wearing the High King’s own tunic—one that just so happens to leave… much to the imagination—could be seen as more than just a matter of convenience.” His gaze dipped briefly, almost involuntarily, to where the fabric hung loosely at your collarbone, before he lifted his eyes once more, this time determined to hold your gaze. You scoffed lightly, refusing to let him fluster you. “So what you’re saying is… your attendants are meddling?” “Perhaps,” he admitted, his lips curving ever so slightly into a knowing smile. “But if so, they’ve chosen an interesting method. One that, I’ll admit, has achieved its desired effect.”
“Oh?” you asked, crossing your arms, though the action only caused the tunic to shift further on your frame. “And what effect would that be?” His smile didn’t falter, though his gaze softened as he studied you. “To catch my attention,” he said simply, the honesty “But It… suits you,” he said, though his voice had dropped just slightly, betraying an edge of something softer. “Though it may not be the most modest choice for an evening in my company.”
You couldn’t resist a small, sly smile. “Oh? Does the High King of the Noldor find himself distracted so easily?” His lips parted in surprise, and for once, the ever-composed Gil-galad looked caught off guard. “Hardly,” he replied after a beat, though his tone lacked conviction. “But I would be remiss if I didn’t ensure your comfort… and dignity.”
“Comfort, yes,” you quipped, brushing at the loose fabric. “Dignity? I’d argue that wearing the High King’s tunic is quite dignified, don’t you think?” A soft chuckle escaped him, the sound rare but warm. “You make a fair point. Though I might suggest a sash, at least,” he said, gesturing vaguely at the loose drape of the tunic. His eyes, despite his best efforts, returned briefly to your shoulder before he turned away slightly, as if to grant you some privacy.
“You’re flustered,” you observed, a teasing edge to your voice. “I didn’t think the great Gil-galad could be thrown off by something so trivial.” He glanced back at you, his expression composed once more, though there was a faint, mischievous glimmer in his eyes now. “Flustered? No,” he said smoothly, stepping closer again, his voice dropping to a near whisper. “I am merely… amused.” You rolled your eyes but couldn’t hide the small smile tugging at your lips. “Amused. Of course.” Gil-galad tilted his head, studying you for a long moment, his gaze gentler now, more reflective. “Perhaps I am also…” He paused, searching for the right word. “…Intrigued.”
“By?” you prompted, your heart beating faster under his intense, albeit softened, gaze. “You,” he said simply, his voice carrying the weight of honesty that felt inescapable. “You have a way of turning the mundane into something extraordinary, even unintentionally.” For a moment, neither of you spoke. The fire crackled softly in the hearth, and the air between you seemed heavier, charged with unspoken words. Finally, you broke the silence, crossing your arms playfully. “So… should I return this tunic, then? Or are you intrigued enough to let me keep it?”
Gil-galad’s lips curved into a rare, genuine smile, the kind that softened his usual stoicism. “Keep it,” he said, his voice warm. “Though I would ask that you not wear it into the council chambers. I fear my advisors might not handle it as gracefully as I.” You laughed, a sound that filled the quiet room, and his smile deepened as he watched you. For all the weight he carried as High King, in that moment, he seemed lighter, as if your presence offered him a fleeting reprieve from the burdens of his crown.

The guest chambers of Eregion are quiet, the only sound being the crackling of the fire in the hearth. The room is dimly lit, with the flickering light casting long shadows across the stone walls. The warmth from the fire contrasts with the cold, distant feel of the stonework, making the atmosphere feel almost like a refuge. Celebrimbor had heard of your arrival, and being the ever-diligent lord, he had come to check on you. He is a man who’s meticulous in his work, but even more so when it comes to the well-being of those under his care. His footsteps are measured, soft, as he enters your chambers, expecting to find you resting or perhaps engaged in quiet thought. But as the door creaks open, his gaze lands on you in the most unexpected of ways.
You stand near the fire, one of the oversized tunics slipping slightly off your shoulder, the loose fabric falling softly around your body. It’s a simple outfit, but in the dim light, it seems almost… delicate. The tunic reveals more than he’s accustomed to seeing, and the effect is immediate. For a long moment, neither of you speaks. You, standing there with your own uncertainty as you feel the fabric shift against your skin, and him, frozen in the doorway. Celebrimbor’s gaze sharpens as he takes in the sight of you, the soft blush of surprise creeping across his usually composed features. His heart races, and he does his best to contain it, but his breath catches in his throat. This is a sight he’s not used to—no matter how well he knows you, this feels… different.
“Forgive me,” Celebrimbor says softly, his voice breaking slightly, as he quickly averts his gaze, his hand instinctively reaching for the doorframe to steady himself. His mind is racing as he tries to regain his composure, but the softness in his tone betrays the quiet vulnerability he feels. “I did not intend to… intrude upon you in such a state.” You stand there, taking in the awkwardness of the moment. It’s not as though you’re ashamed of how you’re dressed, but you sense the unease in his voice, the way his eyes seem to dance around you without settling in one place. “I didn’t expect you so soon,” you reply, your voice quiet, the slight uncertainty in it perhaps matching his own. You adjust the tunic slightly, but it only seems to shift more, revealing just a little more skin. “I wasn’t expecting company, and—”
“No, no, of course,” Celebrimbor interrupts gently, though his words sound strained, as if he’s trying to make it clear that he’s the one out of place, not you. His expression falters for a moment, caught between concern and something else entirely. “It’s just… I had not meant to see you thus.” You can’t help but chuckle softly at his discomfort, the situation feeling almost surreal. “I didn’t think it would bother you. I’m not… embarrassed, you know.” You meet his eyes then, a slight challenge in your gaze, testing how far he might allow himself to relax. Celebrimbor stammers, blinking rapidly as though his mind is racing to find the words. “I… I am not bothered, of course not. But you must understand… it is—” He stops himself, as though considering his words carefully. His tone softens, and the words finally spill out in a quiet admission, “It is… hard for me to remain unmoved by your presence. You… have a way of unsettling me, my lord.”
You pause at this. His words linger in the air, heavy with something more than just formality. There’s an undertone of sincerity, of something deeper that he struggles to express, and you realize this situation is more than just discomfort—it’s an internal battle for him. He takes a deep breath, forcing himself to step into the room more fully. His eyes meet yours now, steady but still holding a hint of vulnerability. “I have spent my life crafting, forging… creating things, and yet,” he pauses, his voice lowering slightly, “I am no more prepared for this than a novice smith before the forge.”
You notice the way he’s struggling, the way his posture shifts between wanting to look at you and wanting to look away. There’s no malice in his eyes, no anger—only a careful caution, as if afraid to break something fragile, both the moment and you. “I didn’t mean to cause you distress,” you say gently, stepping a little closer. You meet his gaze more directly now, no longer feeling quite so uncertain yourself. “It’s just… clothes. A tunic. There’s nothing for you to worry about.” But Celebrimbor’s eyes soften, even as he tries to appear calm. “I know. But I cannot help how it makes me feel.” He takes another careful step toward you, closer now, his eyes never quite leaving yours. He’s attempting to regain some of his usual control, but you can see the strain in his gaze. “Forgive me for my weakness… It is just that, you, standing there…” He shakes his head lightly. “I must admit, you are more beautiful than I ever expected.”
The silence between you two deepens as his words linger. He lowers his voice once more, almost as if confessing something. “I fear that… I could never simply view you as a guest, not anymore.” There is something almost painful in the way he says it, as if he’s come to the realization that it’s no longer so simple, not with you. You study him for a moment, taking in his discomfort and the vulnerability hidden beneath his usually confident exterior. You smile gently, stepping closer until you’re standing right in front of him, so close now that he can feel the warmth of your presence, the heat of the fire reflecting in your eyes.
“You have nothing to fear from me, Celebrimbor,” you say, your voice warm and steady. “I won’t bite. Not unless you ask nicely.” You chuckle lightly, trying to ease the tension. He glances at you, a small, rueful smile pulling at the corner of his lips, though the seriousness of his words hasn’t quite left his voice. “I would not dare to ask, my lord.” There’s a pause, and in that moment, the weight of the quiet shifts. Perhaps it’s the proximity, or perhaps the sincerity of the words shared between you, but Celebrimbor seems to breathe a little easier. “I… I don’t want to make this awkward,” you say, offering him a small smile, hoping to ease him further. “Let’s just say, I’m not shy, and neither should you be.”
He nods slowly, though there’s still a flicker of hesitation in his gaze. “I do not wish to make you feel uncomfortable either,” he says softly, stepping back, though not too far. “But you must understand, you make me want to be a better man, one who does not stumble in the presence of such grace.” You pause, taking in the warmth of his words, the sincerity of the feelings that he’s only now learning to express. And as the room falls into another moment of quiet, you realize that for all his nobility, for all his skill as a smith and a lord, Celebrimbor, too, is learning the way of vulnerability. And it’s in this exchange—a moment of uncertainty between you both—that you understand that his heart is as much a creation as any masterpiece forged in the fires of Eregion.
Another version
The quiet chamber of Eregion is bathed in a soft orange glow, the flickering hearthlight dancing across the carved stone walls. The air smells faintly of cedarwood and the faint metallic tang that seems to cling to Celebrimbor’s presence, no doubt from his endless hours spent in the forge. You stand just outside the threshold of the guest chamber, dressed in a tunic that you borrowed—or rather, quietly pilfered—from Celebrimbor’s collection.
It’s too large for you, the loose fabric falling to your mid-thigh and sliding off one shoulder despite your attempts to adjust it. The sleeves hang comically long, draping over your hands. You shift slightly, pulling at the hem to keep it in place, your cheeks warm under the weight of your own daring. You’re not sure why you didn’t grab your own clothes, but it’s too late for that now.
Just as you muster the courage to step inside, the door creaks open on its own. Celebrimbor is standing there, his hand still on the latch. His silver-grey hair, tied neatly, catches the firelight, giving him an almost ethereal glow. He’s dressed in his usual attire, though his tunic is slightly rumpled, as though he’s been distracted by something.
His eyes find you instantly, and the sharp inhalation he makes is barely audible but unmistakable. For a moment, he freezes, his gaze lingering on the tunic—on his tunic—before his eyes travel to your exposed shoulder, your flushed face, and back to the fabric that clings in places it shouldn’t. “Ah… I see…” he begins, though his voice falters slightly, a rare occurrence for the ever-composed elf lord. He clears his throat and tries again, his tone soft yet colored with something you can’t quite place. “You’re… wearing my tunic.”
“I am,” you reply, attempting nonchalance, though the warmth creeping up your neck betrays you. “I was cold, and this was… convenient.” You shift your weight from one foot to the other, your bare feet brushing against the cool stone floor. Celebrimbor’s brow furrows, not in displeasure, but in something closer to concern—or perhaps disbelief. “Convenient,” he repeats slowly, his voice tinged with a quiet amusement that only adds to your flustered state. He steps into the room fully, closing the door behind him. “It is… large on you.” His eyes flicker to your shoulder again, where the fabric has slipped, exposing more skin than you’d intended.
“I noticed,” you quip back, tugging at the neckline in a futile attempt to fix it. “You Noldor seem to favor oversized designs.” He tilts his head, a small, almost shy smile tugging at his lips. “I assure you, it is not the tunic’s design that is at fault. It was… not made for you.” His words are gentle, but there’s a flicker of something in his eyes—an unspoken thought he doesn’t quite voice.
You fold your arms, the sleeves bunching awkwardly as you meet his gaze. “If it bothers you, I’ll take it off,” you say, your tone half-teasing, half-challenging. You’re not sure what reaction you’re expecting, but you don’t anticipate the sudden widening of his eyes or the way he quickly averts his gaze, his composure slipping further.
“No!” he blurts out, then immediately winces at his own outburst. His voice lowers, softer now, almost reverent. “No, it does not… bother me. It’s simply…” He hesitates, searching for the right words, his hand absently brushing the back of his neck. “It is a sight I did not anticipate.”
“Is that a bad thing?” you ask, stepping closer, emboldened by his visible discomfort. “No,” he answers immediately, his voice firm despite the faint blush creeping onto his pale cheeks. “It is not a bad thing.” His gaze returns to you, softer now, and his lips part as though he wants to say more. Instead, he clears his throat again and straightens, trying to regain some semblance of dignity. “Though I would suggest you sit by the fire. You’ll catch a chill otherwise.”
“Wouldn’t I be warmer if you stayed?” you counter, a mischievous smile playing on your lips. It’s worth it just to see the way his usually composed demeanor falters entirely. He stares at you for a moment, clearly grappling with how to respond. Finally, he exhales a quiet laugh, shaking his head. “You are… impossible,” he murmurs, though there’s warmth in his voice, and perhaps a hint of admiration.
“And you’re endearing,” you reply, turning toward the fire but glancing back at him over your shoulder. “Don’t think I didn’t notice the way you looked at me, Celebrimbor.” His sharp intake of breath is audible this time, and you catch the faintest smile tugging at the corner of his lips before he follows you to the hearth, shaking his head in mock exasperation.

[ Part XIII ]
Series Masterlist
A/N: Okay, here it is. I did the best I could with the hole I'd written myself into. I hope you enjoy it. The end might feel final, but we still have another part after this where we get some more much-needed closure. Thank you for following me on this ride.
Geta reclined in his chair, watching the spectacle, isolated, all sound missing his ear. The food tasted like nothing, his head swam, the wine serving as his only comfort. Even Caracalla had retired early, clutching a plate of treats for Dondus. When his boredom grew to a suffocating level, he rose from his seat, coldly dismissing their guests.
He could feel their stares, could still hear the mutterings in the arena that afternoon.
A moment of weakness. One he would not suffer from again. He’d promised Macrinus as much. Which was why he’d sent him to retrieve his weakness so she could be dealt with once and for all. How he would do that, he had no clue.
Macrinus had appeared almost anxious after Caracalla’s man took Plautianus down. Flighty and on edge, he carried himself with less grace than usual. He openly watched the guards standing around the Emperors, keeping himself aware of where they were and when they came and went.
Geta was beginning to realize he’d killed an innocent man.
Before the grief of his stupidity could wash over him, the man himself reappeared, glancing around at the abandoned seats, servants already moving in to clear tables and any other flat surface used as one. He kept his commentary to himself and approached Geta.
“Geta, she is gone,” Macrinus spoke, true concern in his voice. It was the most agitated he had ever seen the man.
“Gone? What do you mean, ‘gone’?”
Macrinus grew uncharacteristically frustrated. “She was not in her cell. Viggo could not tell me what happened.”
“You seem to surround yourself with incompetence,” Geta commented, his wine dulling his desire to maintain a friendship with this man he no longer trusted.
Macrinus’s eyes flashed for a moment before he corrected himself. “They were given a delivery of wine, your majesty,” he explained. “From the Emperors. You wouldn’t have had anything to do with that, would you?”
Geta relished the way the man seemed to be coming apart at the seams, his perfectly tailored persona cracking just a bit under the pressure.
“No, but I believe it is customary. To repay the effort spent in readying the prisoners.” Gets finished his glass, setting it down on the table. “Are your men looking for her?”
“As we speak,” Macrinus confirmed.
Geta wasn’t even particularly mad Letha might have escaped. If she meant what she said, was as good as Caracalla seemed to believe, she wouldn’t be returning to collect. She would disappear. He might never see her again.
That was what bothered him.
More than bothered him. Filled him with despair. Every second was another opportunity to wallow in that grief. Wine.
“Where is Emperor Caracalla?” Macrinus asked.
Geta waved him off. “Probably with his concubines, having a much more entertaining evening than I. Besides, what does it matter?”
“If he sent the wine–”
“A customary gift,” Geta reminded him, growing irritated.
“I do believe it was hand-delivered, by that Praetorian always at your brother’s side.”
“Ancus?” Geta laughed. “Yes, well I will instruct that he stick even closer to my brother. No more excursions.”
“That is not what I–”
“Enough, Macrinus. I am tired. You ought to get some rest yourself, it’s been a long day.”
Geta stood and walked away through the eerily quiet hall, wondering if he’d live through the night. He would ask someone to fetch Tegula. He could sit in his study with his best men, to make sure no one got through to his bedchamber.
As he entered his chambers, stripped the day from his skin, and sank into his bed, he realized just how much he missed Letha. He missed the hope she brought him. The possibility of a life steeped in warmth and love. But it had been ripped away just as quickly as it had taken root, and the agony of that still consumed his waking thoughts.
Maybe she escaped the city. He tried to imagine where she might go, with nothing to her name and no family that he knew of left to find. He could picture her so vividly, cycling through the innumerable times he looked at her long enough to memorize the expression on her face.
She had so willingly accepted her fate, resigned herself to death. It was him that put her in that position in the first place. Her death would surely have shattered what bit of his sanity remained. He did not think of consequence when he ordered the fight to end. He could feel his blood racing through his ears, could hear each beat. It was what she was owed. A life for a life. He hoped she would use it well.
He fell asleep clutching a pillow that still bore some scent of the oil she’d brushed through her hair. Jasmine.
Macrinus paced. And paced. And paced. He could see the hallway that led to the Emperors’ rooms. What he was waiting for, he hated putting words to. To have to admit it, even if only to himself, it was just another indignance dealt by Letha. One he would rise above, once he worked up the nerve.
He was suffering her loss. For all his threatening and scheming, he realized quite quickly he wasn’t cut out for this direct involvement. He needed a new agent, but lacked the connections while stuck inside the palace. He felt the Praetorians watching his every step, could feel the heavy scrutiny from Caracalla at every mealtime.
It shouldn’t be so difficult, he agonized. If Letha could do it, so can I.
With renewed purpose, Macrinus strode down the hall, thinking of what he could say if caught. Before he got more than a few steps down the hall, one of the doors opened. He tucked himself behind a column, beside a bust of Caracalla. He peered around the edge of the column and watched.
Someone wearing an elaborate cloak, complete with a hood, stepped out into the hallway, followed by a guard.
Ancus.
“You ought to stay here,” the figure spoke. Her voice was low, hardly a whisper. “I know where it is.”
“You will need someone to check if anyone is there,” Ancus retorted, concerned.
“You said he is sleeping, yes?” she questioned, glancing down the hallway. She turned, about to look in Macrinus’s direction. He tucked himself flush with the wall, out of sight. He could only listen now.
“Yes,” Ancus confirmed. “Tegula is watching over him.”
“Then I will be only a moment. Do not leave Caracalla unattended with that snake about.”
Macrinus’s blood ran cold.
Letha.
By the time he could hear footsteps retreating, she had already turned the corner, heading deeper into the Emperors’ wing of the palace.
Letha was in the palace. Kept hidden by Caracalla. And Geta didn’t know.
Macrinus felt a weightlessness settle just above his shoulders. Fresh, delicious surprise and hope sprang forth. He hardly resisted the urge to laugh at this fortuitous turn of events. The gods smiled on him in his hour of need.
As he strode away to his chambers, he was already putting together ideas.
Yesterday Morning
“I think I like this one best,” Caracalla commented. He turned to Ancus. “Ancus, what do you think?”
The guard raised his eyebrows, looking over the tunic his emperor held up. “I-I do think it brings out your eyes, Imperator.”
That drew a smile from the smaller twin, and he stared down at the garment. After a moment of thought, Caracalla approached the servant, holding the outfit out for them to take so he could be dressed in it.
“Do I have your loyalty, Ancus?” Caracalla called out.
Ancus turned his back to his Emperor, pulling at some of his armor. “Of course, Emperor.”
“You will not speak of this to anyone, even Tegula? Or my brother?”
Ancus glanced over his shoulder, concerned, but he didn’t let his eyes focus on anything in particular. “If you will it.”
“Leave us,” Caracalla muttered.
Ancus waited until the servant left the room to turn and set eyes upon his Emperor. The color did brighten his eyes.
“I intend to save my brother from himself,” Caracalla explained.
“How?”
Caracalla approached a small table. He opened a drawer and produced a linen-wrapped object, setting it in Ancus’s larger hands.
“We start with this.”
As Ancus realized the genius of Caracalla, he couldn’t help his smile.
“You will help me, Ancus?”
“With anything.”
Later that day
“Letha?” The voice was soft, uncertain.
She looked up, more than a little shocked to make out the form of Caracalla standing outside the cell in the dark, Ancus dutifully holding a torch up behind him.
“Caracalla?”
He approached, clinging to the bars of the cell, his jewelry clinking against the rusted metal. “How is your arm?”
She didn’t spare it a glance. “What are you doing here? Where is–”
“My brother is not well.”
Her fear returned, quick as lightning. “What’s happened? Did Macrinus–”
“He’s heartbroken,” Caracalla interrupted. “You, that’s what happened,” he frowned.
Letha moved to Caracalla, her dirty hands covering his on the bars. He didn’t draw back. “Tell him I’m sorry,” she pleaded.
“Would you have done it?” Caracalla asked. “Really?”
She shook her head. “No. I… I couldn’t have.”
“And it wasn’t Thraex’s doing, was it?”
She frowned. “No.” He didn’t seem to need to be told who was truly responsible.
He studied her in the torchlight, mulling things over. Finally, he pulled his hands out from under hers, taking a step back away from the door, closer to Ancus.
“I’m an Emperor too,” he announced, “and I require your presence. Your sentence is vacated by the order of Marcus Aurelius Severus Antoninus Augustus. The door, Ancus,” Caracalla ordered, beaming.
Ancus stepped forward, a slight smile tugging at his lips at Caracalla’s display.
Letha released the metal, stepping back away from the door, uncertainty swimming in her gut. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes as Ancus unlocked the cell door, pulling it open, leaving it open for her to step out of, free.
“Come back with us. You can stay in my rooms until my brother is less… volatile.”
“He’s angry?” she asked, thinking back to the way he’d looked at her with blazing eyes. Should she be fearful?
“He can’t get over your betrayal, Letha,” Caracalla sighed. “He’s lost a bit of himself. It’s a bit ironic, right? Me trying to look after him?” He let the question hang in the air, but he didn’t need an answer from her, just giggling to himself. “Let’s go. Dondus will be delighted to see you.”
Letha felt touched by Caracalla’s faith in her as he grabbed her hand, tugging her along beside him as he left the cavernous depths where she’d been kept, Ancus following behind.
The next morning, Geta didn’t want to leave his bed. It was an ordeal for his servants to get him up and dressed. There were still more games to attend, more people to meet, and dinner parties to host. He didn’t understand how he was expected to return to the normalcy of their life with all of it so fresh.
His thoughts drifted to Letha. The one stolen night. The happiest he’d been in years. He could pretend she waited for him in his rooms to get him through the day. As he sat and forced food and drink down his throat at Caracalla’s nagging, as he watched men fight for glory in the arena, as if he hadn’t just seen his love almost meet her end in the exact same spot. And even now, guests dwindling, as he was forced to paste on a smile with some of the senators, the play-by-play of the day’s fight boring him nearly to tears, he thought of Letha.
“Excuse me,” Geta muttered, abandoning the glass in his hand on the nearest table before heading to his rooms for a moment of peace.
As he passed Caracalla’s door, he heard a laugh that stopped him dead in his tracks. In a split second he was back in the box, the first day of the games. His eyes lifted just the same, but a door was all that greeted him. Before he could convince himself his sanity was slipping, he knocked loudly.
A few seconds passed, long ones. Geta heard rustling, but not much else.
“Yes?” It was Ancus.
“Can I come in to speak with my brother?” Geta asked, his stomach in knots.
After a moment the door was opened, and Caracalla stepped out, the shreds of a smile still on his face and in his eyes. “Yes, brother?”
“You have guests?” Geta questioned, his voice strained from lack of use and the nerves burning his throat.
Caracalla stared at him before falling into one of his usual giggles. “Just, you know, my usual attendants.”
“I heard a woman’s laughter,” Geta accused.
A flicker of concern was overridden by sympathy. “Hearing ghosts, brother?”
Geta scowled, waving off his brother’s concern. “Nevermind.”
“Are you alright?” Caracalla asked, a hand on his brother’s arm.
“Just perfect,” Geta ground out before turning and heading back to the party. There wouldn’t be enough wine to get him to forget this.
Macrinus watched Geta return to the party, his troubled state much more obvious. As he downed a glass of wine and requested another, Macrinus knew this was his opportunity.
“That was close,” Caracalla sighed, looking up to where Letha was currently stepping out from behind a large curtain panel, her face drawn. “He was so sure it was you.”
“How do you know?” she asked.
“It was in his eyes.”
Letha nodded, sitting on the edge of Caracalla’s unmade bed. “Is it still too soon to tell him?”
“While Macrinus still stays here you are in too much danger,” Ancus spoke up, scratching at his jaw. “He’s supposed to leave once the games are over.”
Letha thought it was amusing how Caracalla and the Praetorian he’d dismissed so readily had truly bonded. There was a glimmer in the Emperor’s eyes as he looked up at his guard. It relieved her to see him happy like this. And Letha did not miss the flush that filled the cheeks of the man anytime Caracalla paid him specific attention.
Oh, Ancus.
The Emperors truly were magnetic.
A small part of Letha wanted to ignore their advice and storm out of Caracalla’s rooms in search of his brother, but she understood their hesitance. And she truly believed her reappearance would not be met with joy. She wasn’t sure she wanted to feel that agony so soon.
“Well, I need to go out and show my face some more, but we’ll be back in a bit. Keep Dondus company for me.”
“I will, Caracalla,” Letha promised, looking down at the small monkey pulling at her dress. “We’ll have our own party, right Dondus?” She got a squeak in return as he climbed to her shoulder.
Geta walked further into the gardens, another night coming to a close, the day weathered by some miracle. He wasn’t drunk, just comfortable, warm. He could allow himself this, now that their guests were gone. His feet led him, no destination in mind. Still, tragically, that jasmine-smothered statue came into view and he took another long sip of his wine to try to swallow down the confusing slurry of emotions.
He found himself leaned back against it once again, trying to remember, wishing he could have done something to help her. If she’d just trusted him enough to tell him, he would have protected her. He would have shielded her from Macrinus, he wouldn’t have told another soul, his selfishness overriding duty.
He pressed his own palm to his chest, over his heart, his eyes closing to avoid the welling of emotion, the pressure behind his eyes, the knot in his throat.
“Brother?”
Geta stood up straight, shaking off his melancholy. “‘Calla?” He spotted his brother as he walked over, saw Ancus lingering by the stairs, a good distance away.
“You look sad.”
Geta scoffed. That wasn’t the half of it. “It’s fine.”
“You haven’t been yourself lately.”
It irked Geta that he wasn’t allowed to feel the wealth of emotions in his chest without someone having something to say about it. Everyone else was allowed their moods and frustration, but if he felt something so strongly… He felt like he wasn’t being allowed to mourn. Because that’s what it was, mourning.
“Emperors, how fortuitous,” Macrinus spoke, disrupting the calm that the gardens granted.
Caracalla made no effort to mask the shift in his expression, annoyance obvious.
Geta stepped away from the statue, gesturing to Macrinus with his cup. “Something you need?”
“Oh, no,” Macrinus smiled, a return to form after stumbling through the last couple of days. “I just wanted to thank you both for your hospitality.”
Geta watched him, the relaxed lilt to his voice concerning.
Caracalla groaned in frustration. “Yes, yes,” he muttered.
The impolite response didn’t deter Macrinus, not for a moment. Geta should have known then that whatever he was about to say stood to derail the entire day. But he didn’t, instead shooting his brother a scolding look.
“I have not had the opportunity to meet your other guest. She seems to avoid parties, meals, games…”
“We have no other guest, Macrinus,” Geta explained, quite confused. He looked to Caracalla, surprised to see him clammed up. “Brother?”
“Should someone go fetch her?” Macrinus suggested, eyes fixed to Geta.
“No,” Caracalla insisted.
Geta looked to his brother, concern growing. “What did you do?”
Caracalla’s frustration grew under the intense scrutiny. “Neither of you can be trusted with her!”
Geta felt overwhelmed. There was no way. “You lied to me?” he questioned, feeling faint.
“You are not in your right mind,” Caracalla accused.
“So it is I who cannot be trusted?” He couldn’t help his frustration.
“For all we knew, you would kill her!”
The glass collided with the stone, shattering. Geta still spoke, though Caracalla paid him no attention, his eyes glued to the shards littering the grass. “You know nothing.”
At the commotion, Ancus approached, a protective hand pressed to Caracalla’s shoulder as he took in Geta’s affected state.
“Ah, here she is. The search is over, your majesties. Here is your traitor.”
Geta’s heart stopped. He felt each agonizing second it took for him to turn, to see Letha being led into the gardens, Macrinus’s man keeping a tight grip on her arms. The sight drove a spike of anxiety into his chest.
Letha didn’t struggle, she kept her eyes trained on Macrinus, wondering what was coming next.
“What a reunion,” Macrinus chuckled, rubbing his hands together. “Didn’t you have some justice to dole out, Geta?” At that, Macrinus approached Letha. A sword was produced, and Macrinus held it to her throat. “How did you put it? A weakness, to be dealt with once and for all?”
Letha’s eyes met his, and Geta felt tears coming as he took in her fearful expression, the cut across her cheek, the bruising.
“Stop,” he ordered, approaching them, his hand held out for the sword.
Macrinus leveled the sword at Geta, the flat of the blade smacking his open palm. “I don’t think so.”
Geta recoiled, withdrawing his hand.
“I didn’t expect this,” he admitted, gesturing between Geta and Letha. “I should have, and I have paid for that mistake, but I will not make it again.”
Geta bit back his protest as Macrinus reached over, his hand squeezing Letha’s bandaged shoulder tightly enough to bruise. The cry she let out wounded him.
“I should thank you, Caracalla,” Macrinus smiled. “Up until last night, I was so sure I’d wake up in a cell myself. But the gods have other plans for me. They sent me this solution as a sign of their unwavering support. It could not be anything else.”
“The gods do not care for you,” Letha spat. She struggled beneath Macrinus’s grip, trying to wriggle her shoulder free.
Viggo renewed his grip on her wrists, scowling at her, as Macrinus brought the sword back to her neck, a warning. She stilled.
“Ancus,” Caracalla muttered, his voice betraying his fear.
Geta felt trapped. They were all in danger, all caught off guard.
“I will tell you of my plan,” Macrinus grinned. “It’s too good not to share it. While not perfect, I do believe it is the best anyone could do in these circumstances.” He let the blade leave Letha’s neck, pacing leisurely before them. “It would seem that Letha here, having escaped, decided she would come back and finish the job,” Macrinus gestured to her with the sword tip. “Finding the two of you here in the gardens, after felling him, of course,” he gestured to Ancus, “she made quick work of you. And I, hearing the commotion as I just so happened to be passing by, came upon this grizzly scene. Fortunately for you both, I was able to avenge you. And with your last, gasping breath, you named me your successor,” he spoke, moving the sword over to press against Geta’s neck. “Go on, say it.”
Geta said nothing.
Macrinus’s grin grew, the sword pressing closer to where his neck met his shoulder, the razor sharp bite of it beginning to draw blood. Letha let out a cry, struggling with Viggo.
As Macrinus turned to ridicule Viggo, a jovial jab that he seemed to be having trouble restraining a woman, a hand gripped Macrinus’s wrist, pushing the sword away from Geta’s neck.
Macrinus whipped his head around, eyes falling to Ancus, indignation settling in on his face for only a moment before a dagger pushed through the ornate white robes he wore, sinking into his stomach, pushing the breath from his lungs. Geta’s eyes fell to the hands wrapped around the hilt, seeing his brother’s ornamental jewelry.
Geta was pushed back as Ancus stepped in to shield Caracalla, ripping the sword from Macrinus’s hands.
Still partially frozen, Geta looked over to where Letha was, or had been. His feet moved him before his brain could formulate a plan.
Letha was on the ground, struggling against Viggo, the base of her palm pushing at his chin, her other hand trying to pull his hands away from her throat. He seemed to have the strength of ten men, knowing death awaited.
Her throat burned, the pressure in her head from the buildup of blood, her circulation cut off, overwhelming. Spots filled her vision, and she wondered if this would be it, finally. She should’ve been happy, she got all her wishes. Macrinus dead, or in the process of dying, and she got to see Geta one last time. It was all she had asked for. But the desire to remain, to live, breathed life back into her muscles.
Letha abandoned her efforts to claw his hands away, instead opting to make a firm fist and punch as hard as she could into his groin. Viggo let out a choked gasp, one of his hands moving down to shield himself from further attacks, a reflex. The vice around her throat lessened and she could get some air. As Letha was able to suck in a halfway decent breath, Viggo was ripped off of her.
The unnerving sound of a fist meeting Viggo’s face filled the normally tranquil gardens. Letha sat up, surprised to see Geta leaned over her attacker, one of his knees pressing hard into Viggo’s stomach, a hand gripping his clothes while the other repeatedly punched his now-bloody face, rings and all.
Letha tamped down the satisfaction she felt, calling it relief, and moved over to Geta. She pulled at his shoulders, trying to get him to stop, telling him it was enough. He didn’t listen at first, but she pressed herself to his back, pulled his arm to her, her hand wrapping around his wrist.
“It’s done,” she soothed, inspecting his hand, seeing the bite of his rings in his own skin. It would need the attention of a healer and it would surely be swollen purple in the morning.
“Letha,” he whispered, his eyes closed as he turned his head, pressing his forehead to hers.
“I’m sorry,” she breathed, her throat still quite tender.
“Mmmh, no,” he managed, shaking his head.
“Emperors?”
Praetorians were upon them, forcing everyone apart, taking stock of the damage done to their rulers, if any. Letha stayed sitting on the ground beside Viggo, not sure what might happen next.
Before long, Tegula himself appeared, speaking with the twins, and then Ancus, who delivered a succinct version of events that included a charitable explanation that Macrinus had masterminded the entire thing, even down to Letha’s inclusion, implying that she was innocent after all.
She didn’t dare correct him, her eyes fixed on Geta where he stood. His knuckles were stripped of his rings, the healer dabbing at the small cuts. Geta winced each time, eyes falling to his injured hand for a moment before he continued watching Ancus recap their evening, as if surprised by it.
Caracalla stood beside Ancus, quite close, certainly closer than an Emperor would be to his guard, rubbing his fingers together, staring down at the blood on them with soft fascination in his eyes, his other hand still clutching the dagger. Plain, military issued, it looked like.
Letha was brought to her feet as someone inspected her neck, commenting on the redness around her throat. Geta looked over, the people and the circumstances creating a great gulf between them that he couldn’t yet ford. There would be business to attend to before she would get her chance to speak to him again.
It gave her something to look forward to.

I’m late, I’m sorry, Serene… but I promised I’d be here for any CC, and here I am! First of all, I absolutely loved the playlist. And the title… :(((
Beomgyu catches your inner struggle, the already present smirk on his lips stretching wider. “So why are you?” He lets his head fall to the side, the question echoing down the vacant hallway. You knew why, yet you had hoped he wouldn’t ask. But of course, Beomgyu saw right through you, and he’d always known exactly where to push in order for you to finally crack.
The way you write him is doing things to me… SO INSANELY ATTRACTIVE. GOD, your writing.
The following paragraphs just highlight how deeply Beomgyu understands her—or, well, knew her. (She’s in denial, but still. I love her. I am her. Thank you.)
I still remember how haunted I felt when I first read this last tape—the note, the doubt, the endless question of what could’ve made her run. I kept imagining all the possibilities since it hadn’t been revealed yet why Beomgyu let her go. (The angst. Omg.)
His grip tightens before it eases, and with a quiet hum his knuckles caress your cheek, the action makes you shudder. “I am many things, dollface”, he murmurs as he lets you go, his hand slipping back through the small window as he takes a step back, the darkness of his cell immediately consuming half his face. — “But I am not that.”
No matter how many times I read this, it still hits just as hard. (This will always get to me, I fear.)
Soobin’s scene was absolutely adorable—he feels so much like home here. Another green flag man and I’m really excited to see where you take his character, or honestly, any of the characters you have!
OH, AND YES—how could I forget the moment she saw Beomgyu with another woman… She’s stronger than me, for real. And for the nth time, I absolutely love her inner monologues. Obsessed.
“If I was available right now?” He holds out the cigarette for you to take. Eyeing it with disdain for a moment, you decline by shaking your head, “I don’t smoke.” — Beomgyu cocks an eyebrow at you, “You’d be the first to decline.” He studies you for a moment, the corner of his lip twitching into a faint smirk. “But you’re the first of many things, dollface”, he says as he brings the cigarette to his lips.
OK, I forgive him (conveniently ignoring the glaring red flags, but honestly… your writing is so vivid, I can smell the smoke).
His urgent and almost feverish demeanor confused you. He could go weeks without as much as asking to see you, but when he did it was like he’d been starved of you for years. It didn’t make sense.
OH MY GOD, I WANNA CRY. You are truly the best at writing angsty smut—how am I getting sad while reading smut??
This was such a fun (and painfully heartbreaking) read. Now that we’ve completed all the existing tapes, I just know I’m going to die when you publish the next one.
Serene, wow. Can't wait for the next tape!! ><

📼 — PRESENT TIME ; February 20th 2024
You could not sleep that night. No matter how hard you tossed and turned, you couldn’t pull the images of him from your mind. Your conversation rings in your head, replaying itself over and over until every last word was engraved in your heart. The warmth of his breath against your face hovers above you, a ghost-like memory, an almost lucid one.
With a tired groan you roll over on your stomach, burying your face in the pillow as you prepare to go through the evening’s events once more.
“Yet you’re here.” — “But you shouldn’t be.”
No. You shouldn’t be here. Seeing detained suspects outside of office hours, with no surveillance, it was most prohibited. Your mere presence here could quite frankly cost you your job, the one you had worked so hard for. But this was different. This wasn’t about now, it was about then. You weren’t a detective tonight, and he wasn’t a suspect. You were you and he was him. Just like it had been ten months ago.
Patience was not something he lacked and so he waited patiently when you fiddled with the back of your earring, twiddled with the hem of your sleeve, glanced down the corridor and then back up. Without the files in your hand, without his hands chained in front of him, and without the large metal table parting you, he somehow felt closer. This was far more intimate than any of your previous encounters since his arrival yesterday night. And you hate it.
“I need answers.” Your voice is thick, laced with a hint of worry, constantly aware of the dangers of your situation. You were gambling with both your heart and your position here. — Beomgyu huffs, the sound coming out as a quiet chuckle when he shakes his head.
“I thought that was what our sessions were for, no? He quirks a brow, but you know better than to fall for it. He knew that it wasn’t why you had come. — You shake your head firmly, “It’s not the kind of answers I want.”
His lip twitches, his smirk not faltering one bit.
“Something you can’t share with that colleague of yours?”
You frown, hands balling into fists by your sides. “Something that doesn’t concern him”, you state as you press your lips into a thin line. Your heart is beating loudly against your chest, its persistent thump playing in your ears akin to a heavy drum; a constant reminder of the power he still holds over you, even as he sits inside a small cell.
Beomgyu hums, his fingers trailing the outline of the small window. You find your gaze lingering by the metal rings adorning them as they glint in the soft light coming from behind him. “Well go on then”, he pauses, dark eyes flickering from the dust on his finger and over to yours as they narrow, “You’ve never been one to shy away from asking questions, dollface.”
You swallow.
For the past ten months you had wondered what it would be like to come face to face with him once more. What would you tell him? Part of you wanted to blatantly ignore him, to act as if he had never even existed in your life. That was a satisfactory thought, one you allowed yourself to imagine in order to feel better.
You knew that you wouldn’t be able to refrain from indulging as soon as your eyes landed on him though. There were at least a thousand questions soaring through your mind, questions you had longed to ask for what felt like forever. — But as you stand before him, with your heart beating out of your chest and sweat pooling on your forehead, you suddenly find yourself at loss for words.
“That night”, you slowly begin, drawing your speech out as you try your hardest to gauge his reaction. He isn’t interrupting you, instead he waits patiently as ever for you to finish. “You did not come after me.” His eyes narrow. — “Why didn’t you?”
He remains silent. And for a moment you worry that he might not give you an answer at all, it wouldn’t be the first he did. His brow twitches, and for a moment he looks almost confused. But that quickly fades and is soon replaced by his ever stoic expression. “Did you want me to?” He returns your question with one of his own.
Did you want him to? Back then you had feared that he would.. But when he hadn’t.. When you had been left all alone with your own thoughts, the ones that had been chained under his presence, you suddenly found yourself lost. — “It doesn’t matter if I wanted you to or not.” You fold your arms across your chest, “Why didn’t you?”
He exhales, the smirk on his face falling as his features twist into something gloomy. “I read your note.” The following silence is deafening, despite his words coming out a mere breath. You feel your blood go cold. — The note. You remember the small and wrinkly piece of paper all too well, the blurry lines you had so quickly scribbled down, the ink ruined by your own tears. You didn’t think that he had actually read it. It had merely existed to dull the ache of your own wounds, never had you imagined him actually…
Suddenly the memories all come crashing down on you in picture perfect quality, the memories you had longed to forget. The blood, the blood on his hands. There had been so much blood. The red crimson had mixed with the rain, heavy and hard as it poured over you. Goosebumps rise on your skin and you pull your gaze from his.
It had been a bad idea to come here. You should have stayed away.
The cold metal of his rings startle you when Beomgyu’s hand suddenly reaches for your chin. You hadn’t realized just how close you were standing to the door. Close enough for his hand to reach through the small window, for his fingers to lock your head in place as they grasped your jaw.
“Leaving so soon, dollface? — I thought you wanted answers.” His voice is low as he studies your frightened expression with a taunting one. Your wide eyes dart down the hallway before returning back to him. “Let me go”, you seethe as you try to shrug him off.
Then he turns away from you, and you can just about make out his figure in the dark as he heads for the small bed provided. He sits down on it, his elbows on his knees as he turns the rings on his fingers. — Everything is quiet, even the beating of your own heart has dulled into faint background noise.
You let out a breath you didn’t even know you had been holding in. You knew that you weren’t going to get another word out of him, and with a defeated sigh you reached for the hatch on the window. But as your fingers grasp the small lock, he suddenly speaks up. — “You haven’t told them what you saw.” The statement sends a chill down your spine, because you knew exactly what he was referring to. You knew all too well.
Beomgyu lifts his head, the dark strands of his long hair falling from his face. He turns your way, his dark eyes finding yours in an instant. “If you did, I wouldn’t be here right now.” The truth is harsh and bitter, it makes you feel guilty, ashamed even. But Beomgyu smirks, a small chuckle passing his lips. “Perhaps I was wrong about you, dollface.”
His gaze zeroes on your hand, hesitating by the window hatch. — “Just how deep does your loyalty still run?”

📼 — April 29th 2022
“Oh please”, Kayla pleads, her voice sounds near desperate on the other line. You push your phone to your ear, balancing it on your shoulder as you continue to wipe down the table you had just cleared. “I don’t know, there’s just so much coursework and then I’m working again tomorrow afternoon.”
You tried to swiftly avoid a blunt ‘no’ as you worked around your answer. Kayla had been pestering you to go out with her for days since it ‘had been so long’ since last. You knew better, it was just another excuse since she and her so-called ‘boyfriend’ were on yet another break and your friend longed to rebound with the first suitable candidate.
Though you would admit that you had been neglecting your duties as her friend. From the dismissed texts to the unreturned calls. Suppose you felt guilty for going behind her back like this, you knew that Beomgyu was the last person she’d want to see you acquainted with, and you were doing just that. So you had distanced yourself.
The right thing would be to go out with her, but tonight… It wasn’t like your excuses weren’t valid. You were busy, still, a small part of you wanted to keep your calendar clear, just in case Beomgyu would text. It was pathetic really, seeing as you hadn’t heard from him in nearly two weeks. — You bit your lip as you thought about what could possibly be keeping him from you. Work? You had no clue of what he did for a living for Beomgyu was very vague about his private life. He didn’t tell you much, then again, you never asked.
“Fine”, you groan as you set the cloth aside to move over to the next table. Kayla squeals on the phone as she promises that the two of you are going to have a blast. Though your amusement didn’t quite reach her levels, you still agreed as you settled on details. — When the call ends you shove your phone back into your pocket to resume working.
You’re about halfway done clearing the table, with plates stacked on both your arms as you maneuver around the chairs, when a voice from behind startles you. “Here, let me help you with these”, Soobin says as he takes a handful of plates from you. — “O-Oh! Thank you.” You give him a sheepish smile as you allow him to walk you back toward the kitchen doors.
Soobin’s parents ran the restaurant you were working at, and despite him being a couple years your senior, the two of you got along well as he often stopped by to help his mom and dad out. — “How have you been?” He asks when holding the door open for you. Giving him a thankful nod, you shrug, “Tired, overworked and exhausted? – I’m just glad this semester is coming to an end in a month or so.”
Soobin nods as he follows you over to the countertop, setting the plates down on it. “Fairs, you work hard.” He grins, “But it’s paying off well! Just imagine when you get your degree.” You hum as you pick up a plate and run it under the faucet, “You’re right.” One thing about Soobin was that he always seemed to get your mind off of things, whether it be school or work, or even Beomgyu.. His abilities to see things on the bright side seemed to lighten your own mood tenfold.
He leans against the countertop, his arms folded across his chest as he watches you clean the dirty plates. “Got any plans for summer?” He asks and you purse your lips as you pick up a sponge and drench it in dish soap. “Dunno… I’ll probably pick up a few extra shifts around here, so don’t think you’ll see less of me.” You send him a small smile before your attention returns to the dishes in front of you.
Soobin chuckles as he runs a hand through his dark hair. “I wouldn’t want it any other way”, he mumbles. “My parents love you”, he then adds, and you feel heat rushing to your cheeks at the sudden compliment. “I’m sure they’re more than thrilled to have you here all summer.. Just don’t forget to take some time for yourself as well”, he then adds.
You raise a brow as you shoot him a side glance. “Are you trying to rid yourself of me?” you tease, expecting nothing more but a laugh in return. Soobin however, shakes his head. “Certainly not”, he says as he takes the now clean plate from your hands in order to dry it. — “On the contrary”, he clears his throat, “I was going to ask if you could somehow fit me somewhere in your hectic calendar.”
Your hand misses the glass you were aiming for and instead your fingers fumble against the bubbles that had formed due to the soap as you blink up at him. Sure you and Soobin spent a great deal of time together, and you considered him a good friend, but that was all thanks to your job at his parent’s restaurant. You never saw each other outside, yet here he was openly asking for such a fact to change?
He’s quick to note your hesitation and hurriedly adds, “Only if you’re up for it of course!” He clears his throat, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly. “Me and a couple of friends are renting this place not far from the city, I would love for you to join us..” — You watch as he fiddles with the cloth in his hands, anxiously awaiting his response.
You hadn’t thought of Soobin much that way, but as you regard the soft tint to his cheeks, the way his gaze flickers between the floor and you nervously, you can’t help but find him cute. “I would like that a lot”, you send him an equally shy smile and Soobin’s face immediately lights up.
He looks like he’s about to say something else but before he gets the chance to, a hoarse voice breaks the silence. “Young man!” You immediately recognize it as none other than your own boss. Soobin cowers behind you as the elderly lady approaches the two of you with rapid steps. Though his attempts at seeking refuge prove futile as she grabs ahold of his ear, yanking down on it hard.
“What do you think you’re doing? Waltzing in here and distracting my best employee from her duties!” Her harsh tone makes your eyes widen and you almost drop the plate still in your grasp. Soobin winces as he puts his hands up in surrender, “Mom, please! We were just..” — “Just what?” She retorts as she gives his ear another pull.
Baffled, you bite back a smile, “It’s no trouble Mrs Choi. He’s been helping me out with the dishes.” Your attempt at soothing her fragile nerves seemed successful as the old woman let go of her son and straightened her back, even then, she just barely reached your chest.
“Hmpf, as long as he makes use of himself I suppose..” She mutters as she sends Soobin a glare, one he returns with a frown as he cradles his ear. — “But I don’t even work her-” He cuts himself short with a small cough when his mom raises a threatening fist his way, “Alright! Alright!”
Mrs Choi turns her attention to you as she flattens out the apron over her legs. “Very well. Are you staying for dinner, dear?” She asks, her once bitter expression replaced with a warm one. You quickly nod before politely accepting her offer, “I would be delighted to.”
Your throat burns as you down your third shot of the night. Upon setting the empty glass down, you lean against the bar top as your eyes wander across the crowded dance floor. People were pushed up against one another, their bodies moving uncoordinatedly yet somehow beautifully. — “You wanna dance?” Kayla asks as she sets her own empty shot glass down.
True to her word, she had stuck by you the entire night, the main reason being the fact that she had yet to scour out a worthy candidate to accompany her home. Still, you couldn’t deny the sense of comfort her chaotic presence brought your tense nerves. “Sure”, you grin as you allow her to take your hand in hers.
The floor moves in rhythm with the beat, your knees feel wobbly but you manage to remain standing through it all. Even as Kayla twirls you in her arms, just barely catching you again as she giggles. Some songs are familiar, others aren't, that didn’t matter much. You found yourself having a lot more fun than you had originally anticipated. And as the night went on the guilt you had been carrying seemed to lessen.
Perhaps this had been just what you needed, an escape from your otherwise mundane reality. The one where you waited on someone to call, like a lost puppy astray without its owner. Only that someone hardly seemed to care for your longing touch.
Beomgyu was always on your mind, so much so that sometimes you thought you saw him in other people. In class, at work, even on your way home, you thought you could catch a glimpse of him through the corner of your eye. But as you turned around, you found yourself disappointed yet again.
So when you’d seen his dark shadow moving across the outskirts of the dancefloor you had brushed it off as another trick of your mind, nothing but the alcohol and your insatiable need for him speaking. But then as Kayla twirls you around once more and your gaze falls on his figure, leaning against the wall, you knew that this wasn’t another of your hallucinations.
It was undeniably him. Dressed in all black, he nearly blended with the dark wall behind him. The moment is over before you can as much as blink and then you’re back in Kayla’s arms. But for that short second you could’ve sworn that your eyes had met. Your heart nearly stopped. — He quickly disappears from your line of sight as the crowd around you presses closer and you helplessly search from you, completely forgetting about Kayla who was watching you with a frown.
Fate was cruel. It seemed to know exactly when you craved him the most. Then it would taunt you by flaunting him before your very eyes, close enough to just barely send your mind spiraling, but far enough to remain out of reach for your desperate hands.
Then, your eyes fall on her. She looks no different from the women he’d been surrounded by that night, the night when you had first met. Her smile is deceiving, her nails sharp as they trail his chest. He leans closer, an arm snaking around her waist, dark hair tickling her face when goes to whisper something in her ear. You can’t hear her laugh but you can see it. And it fucking hurts.
The rings on his fingers glint under the flashing lights as they brush against her naked thigh, inching closer to where her short skirt ends. He was… You turn your head away in disgust, swallowing the lump in your throat when your gaze meets Kayla’s.
Your hand is sweaty as you grab hers, and before you know it you’re pulling her along as you push your way through the crowded dance floor. Her protests go over your head, and your grip only grows harsher when she tries to break free. It felt as though you were walking through quicksand. You were sinking faster than you were running.
It’s not until the cold night air hits your scorching hot face that you finally let her go. The back door slams shut behind you, the sound echoing off the vacant alleway. “What’s gotten into you?” Kayla shrieks as she jerks her hand back, cradling her wrist to her chest with a deep frown on her face. — You don’t answer her as you allow your body to slump against the rough brick wall.
You breathe in through your nose, letting the fresh air fill your lungs as you trap it there. When you exhale through parted lips you let your eyes flutter closed. “Just needed some air”, you murmur.
Kayla huffs, sounding deflated as she, too, leans against the side of the building. “You okay?” She whispers, this time her voice is laced with concern. You can feel her gaze on you as she studies your absent expression. “Yes”, you nod. — She pauses, “Do you want to get out of here?”
You shake your head. “No, I’ll be fine.” You’d be damned to let something as simple as this ruin your night out. Except, Beomgyu was anything but simple. The thought of leaving was tempting, but you told yourself that you had run away for the last time. This wouldn’t change anything.
“Go on back inside, I’ll join you in a few.” Cracking an eye open, you give your find a reassuring smile. And though she seems far from convinced she nods. “Text me if you change your mind”, Kayla says as he places a quick kiss to your cheek.
You wait until the door closes behind her before resting your head against the hard brick. Taking the quiet moment to glance around the desolate alley, you find nothing but overcrowded trash cans and empty beer bottles littering the streets. You were all alone, at last. — With a content exhale you close your eyes, basking in the comforting silence that had enveloped you.
Perhaps it had been rather childish to make such a dramatic exit, but in that very moment, it had been your only escape. You hadn’t seen him like that since.. Since you first met. And after almost two weeks of not seeing one another once, he seemed to be doing just fine, acting as though the whole world laid at his feet. — All the while you struggled to even go a day without him, desperately waiting on a single text in his name. God, when did you allow yourself to stoop to such a level.
Why was it so easy for him? It was all games and fun in his world. Why could you not share his carefree ways? Why did you have to be the only one suffering from a seemingly pleasure filled agreement? It was unfair.
Was he not as addicted to you as you were to him?
Fine. It didn’t matter, nothing mattered anymore. He was off doing god knows what with that chick and you were… here. No, not anymore. You inhale, preparing to put on the strongest of fronts and go back inside. — But before you’re able to let said breath go, the door next to you opens.
You remain still, completely unmoving as you wait for whoever has come to pass again. They never do. And soon you feel another warm body join you as they, too, lean against the cold brick wall. Everything is quiet, everything is still, time is frozen.
Carefully you listen as they shuffle about, likely rummaging through their pockets in search of something. Then a click, the one a lighter makes. The smell of thick black smoke hits you not long after and you nearly turn your nose up in disgust. — Next to you, the person exhales, a long and heavy breath.
“Not even a hello?”
Beomgyu’s relaxed voice sends a chill down your spine and your eyes snap open. You had known that it was him from the moment he’d stepped outside. Still, you had allowed yourself to blissfully ignore his presence until he decided to make it known. — You keep your eyes on the messy graffiti covering the brick wall opposite you. Following the scribbly lines, you draw in a short breath. “I didn’t think it would be appropriate to.”
Through the corner of your eye you could see him bring a cigarette to his lips. The end lights up when he inhales slowly, his hand returning to his side once more. He exhales the thick smoke, almost as poisonous as himself. “No?” He hums and even though you refuse to turn his way you can still feel his piercing gaze on you.
“No.” You firmly agree as you fold your arms across your chest. “You looked… Busy.” With the subtle clearing of your throat you avoid directly targeting the fact that he’d had both eyes and hands on another woman just moments prior.
But your vague answers didn’t discourage him in the slightest as Beomgyu scoffs. “Does that matter to you?” He asks the question as if you were the one in the wrong, making you out to be a fool for thinking otherwise. You bite your lip, your arms pulling tighter around yourself as you keep your gaze set ahead.
“Why wouldn’t it?”
You were being truthful, as honest as you could be. It took everything in you to lay your insecurities bare, and even then you were unable to hide the jealous sting in your voice. The thought of that woman, of all the others.. It made your face twist into a scowl without you even registering it, making your chest contract and your stomach hurt.
And while Beomgyu had made it clear that what you had was purely sexual, you couldn’t help but find yourself doubting his actions. Things just didn’t add up. He treated you so differently, yet like nothing at all. — Why did it bother you so much that he could so easily venture off with another woman whilst you struggled to even think of a man that wasn’t him.
Beomgyu hums, the sound low and eerily calm as he takes another drag of his cigarette. “And if I wasn’t busy?” He asks as he twirls the cigarette between his fingers. His questions leaves you unprepared, catching you completely off guard and you purse your lips as your gaze drops to the pavement in front of you.
Would you have approached him if he was by himself? Would you have asked him to dance, would you have let his hands wander in front of everyone? Perhaps you would’ve asked him to take you somewhere private, maybe you wouldn’t have had to ask at all.
“I don’t know.” You finally state as you turn your head in his direction, getting your first proper look at him that night. His head is tilted down, causing his dark hair to shield his expression from your curious eyes. Though you could tell that his attention was fixed to the cigarette between his fingers. His lips were slightly parted, his tongue swiping across his bottom one absentmindedly.
“It’s hard to know when you’re available..” You quietly add and Beomgyu’s eyes flicker toward you. Feeling yourself tense up under his gaze, you shift against the wall as you avoid making direct eye contact.
You regard his relaxed posture with a frown. First of what? Sometimes it felt as though you and Beomgyu were playing an endless maze-like game, where every twist and turn led you into further confusion, forging new paths that didn’t make half as much sense as the previous one had. He, on the other hand, seemed to be holding all the cards, and you just aimlessly wandered.
The brief conversation only served to frustrate you further and with a small sigh you push yourself off the wall as you make a move to go around him and back inside. But as your fingers brush the cool handle of the door, his hand suddenly wraps around your wrist, effectively freezing you in place.
Confused, you try to pull away from his harsh grip. “Don’t you have someone waiting for you in there?” You retort, unable to hide the snappy tone you used. — Beomgyu drops the cigarette, crushing it under the sole of his shoe before shoving you back against the brick wall, easily pinning you against it.
“No.” He simply states as his dark eyes rake over your stunned expression and down to your skimpily dressed figure. “Told you I was available right now, didn’t I?” He drawls, his hot breath mere inches from your already heated face.
“But what if I’m not available?” You counter, only to watch the once faint smirk on his lips widen tenfold. “You wouldn’t have ran out here if you were.” Fuck, so he did see you. You’re certain that he can feel the warmth on your face when his thumb brushes over your cheek, threatening to ruin your neat makeup.
“Fuck, do you always look this dolled up? Even when it’s not for me?” He murmurs, a small almost unnoticeable frown tugging on his brows. His gaze drops to your lips, coated in a shiny gloss. — His mouth is on yours before you can even think, much less form a coherent response. He wastes no time as his rough hands cup your face, pulling you impossibly close only to push his tongue inside your waiting mouth.
You gasp against his lips, eyes wide as your hands frantically push at his chest. “Wait! Not here- What if someone sees?”
Beomgyu chuckles, a low and raspy laugh that vibrates on your tongue. His hands leave your face, eagerly descending down your chest, brushing over your already hardened nipples, concealed only by the thin fabric of your dress. — You let out a startled yelp when the cold metal of his rings make contact with the back of your thighs as Beomgyu hikes your legs around his waist; his lips moving down your jaw as he presses hungry kisses to your skin.
His urgent and almost feverish demeanor confused you. He could go weeks without as much as asking to see you, but when he did it was like he’d been starved of you for years. It didn’t make sense. However you find yourself both unable and unwilling to question his strange behaviour further when his hands suddenly push your already short dress up above your hips.
“Beomgyu I’m serious!” You whine, yet you find yourself pulling him closer, your nails digging into his shoulders. No matter how hesitant the public display made you feel, you were unable to hold back from satiating the craving you’d been trying to feed for so long.
He scoffs when he sees you throw an anxious glance down the empty alley, your gaze lingering by the door he’d emerged from not long ago. “C’mon dollface, don’t go shy on me now”, he taunts against your neck before pulling your skin between his teeth, making you cry out.
Fuck it. At least he was here with you and not the woman he’d been feeling up not even an hour prior. You were all that mattered to him. Right? That’s why he’d gone after you, only you. It’s what you tell yourself, it’s the only truth you’re willing to swallow, the only thing that would make you feel better about this. Knowing that you were special.
Your eager hands move along his shoulders, past his neck and through his dark hair as you yank his face back up to yours, reconnecting your lips in a feverish kiss. You can feel his smirk, stretching wide across his lips when you push your tongue inside his mouth, not bothering to care for the taste of smoke that still lingered there. Pleasantly surprised by your demanding ministrations, Beomgyu lets you pull his bottom lip between your teeth, groaning when you bite down.
His expression is smug when you pull back for air, his fingers slipping beneath your panties to drag across your throbbing cunt. — Your cunt that had craved him almost as much as your restless mind.
“Why haven’t you texted me?” Your voice is unstable and threatens to betray you when he pushes two fingers inside of you, almost immediately curling them as he makes your back arch off the wall. Beomgyu’s lips return to your neck as he kisses his way to the shell of your ears. “Don’t be greedy, dollface”, he murmurs as he sucks your lobe into his mouth, rolling the silver of your earring against his tongue. “You already have so much.”
But it wasn’t enough.
You frown, wanting to object but quickly losing all your composure when the tip of his cock prods against your aching cunt. Your head hits the brick behind you as Beomgyu eases himself inside of you, a muffled groan passing his lips. — With an anxious gulp you glance toward the door, eyeing it nervously.
Setting a quick and rough pace, Beomgyu’s fingers clasp around your face, digging into your cheeks as he shifts your attention back to him. “If they see, they see”, he grunts as his hips snap against yours. Meekly nodding, your hands fall back onto his shoulders as your moans fill the empty alleway. Even if no one saw you, they were bound to hear you. For some reason that thought thrilled you more than you ever imagined it would.
The thought of everyone knowing what he was doing to you. That he was doing it to you and no one else. Only you.
You knew that your attachment to him was becoming increasingly worrying. You should have probably distanced yourself a long time ago. Because you knew that this wasn’t just about the sex for you. Everything about Beomgyu drew you in. He was intoxicating, almost like a drug. That’s what made him so difficult to leave. Once you tried him, everything else seemed bland. Most of all, you could never seem to get enough of him, for he always left you craving more.
And you would do anything to get him.
Even now, as you smell the perfume of that woman all over him, you still crave him. All you can think about is him, all you can breathe is him and all you need is him.
“Have you fucked her?” The question slips before you can stop it. Your nails claw at his shoulders, pulling a strained groan from him. You didn’t care if he had, not anymore. All that mattered was the fact that he was here with you right now. You desperately told yourself that his answer wouldn’t matter, that you could take it.
“No.”
Wait, he didn’t? Your jaw falls open, completely ignorant of the fact that his cock was still buried deep inside of you as your mind spiraled. A smug feeling bloomed within your chest, and it should have been a worrying one, but you could only relish in the fact that he had chosen you over her. He’d chosen you over all of them. You were special, right?
When he finishes inside of you is when you’re certain that you are. You moan at the feeling of being filled to the brim with everything that was Beomgyu; letting him shove his fingers inside your sore cunt as he pushes his cum back inside, mixing it with your own orgasm before he brings his drenched fingers to your face.
Your lips part as he smears the mess all over them, glancing up at him with a dazed and almost blissful expression. — “You really are a doll, aren’t you?” He murmurs as he watches your tongue dart out ti swipe across your wet lips, a small groan being pulled from his throat.
If spending almost two weeks desperately longing for him was what it would take for something like this to happen, you would do it all over again, for as many times as you would have to. Because that’s what addiction was like. And oh how you were addicted to Choi Beomgyu.
