You can't be with her!

Warnings: little bit of angst, fluff, smut, making out, strap-on, top!Kate
Summary: Your moms found out about your relationship with Kate and are not happy with it. They want to keep you safe, unintentionally hurting you while doing that.
Notes: Sorry for my long absence. Here's a new one shot for you. I think it's the longest work I've ever written so far. Enjoy reading this piece.
Word count: 5.2k
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You knew you were in trouble. It was obvious. Especially after they broke into the house and you saw a very angry ex-assassin and a very pissed witch in the living room. But, let’s start from the beginning ‘cause what a story it is.
8 hours earlier
“No, there is no way.” your mom said firmly, standing in the kitchen with her hands on her hips. You stood up from your chair and walked closer to her.
“Why? You can’t just do that.” you fighted back. You couldn’t believe this is happening and centrally won’t let it become the truth. You love your moms and you know they always try to do what’s best for you, but this time they were in the wrong.
“I can and I just did. You can’t see Kate anymore.” Nat said with a stern look, tightening her jaw. You turned from her to your other mom. “Mama, won’t you say anything?” you asked, a pleading look on your face.
Wanda, who was standing and listening to the conversation this whole time, walked closer to her wife. “Y/N, sweety, we’re just looking out for you.” she answered gently. You felt absolutely helpless, hurt and angry.
“You can’t make this decision for me. It’s my life and my relationship.” you spoked, hoping that they will change their minds.
“You are our daughter and still a child. It is as we say.” Nat added, not backing up. It’s hard to fight an assassin, even if it is not a physical fight. “Listen, we don’t want to be the bad guys here or make your life miserable. It’s just..” Nat signed. “Kate is an Avenger. This job is very dangerous and being with her can put you in life threatening danger. It’s already risky considering that you are our daughter.“
“I’m not a child anymore, I’m 21 years old. Nothing bad will happen to me. Please, I love her. Y-you can’t do that.” your eyes started to fill up with tears, your voice’s slowly breaking.
“I’m sorry, but that’s final.” Hearing that, you rushed to your room, locking yourself in it. You threw yourself on your bed and started crying.
Everything was good before. Your moms didn’t know about your relationship. You successfully kept it from them for a little over a year, always saying that you were going out with some friends. But of course, they had to walk in on you and Kate making out in the training room when you were visiting the Avengers in the compound, because they had some stuff to take care of. Nat immediately took you to the car. The drive home was silent, but when you got inside, they started saying that you needed to end things with Kate for “your own good”.
You picked up your phone, opened contacts and dialed the phone number. It was three rings after that the person answered. “Hi, Y/N.” said the angelic voice on the other side. It was all it took you to utter a sob, breaking down more from just hearing her. “Y/N? What’s wrong? Does it have something to do with your moms finding out about us?” Kate asked with a concerned tone. You didn’t want to tell her about your fight because it would make it true and you couldn’t let that happen. However, Kate deserves to know. Maybe you can come up with a solution and everything will be great again. At least you hoped so.
“Kate-” you sobbed. “They want me to break up with you.” you cried out. Silence enveloped the room. You didn’t know if it was because she hung up or she was shocked. Pulling the phone from your ear, you looked at the screen; okay, she’s still there. “Kate? Please, say something.”
After a few seconds, you heard her say, you think she’s also crying. “I don’t know what to say.” she cleared her throat and added. “There’s nothing I can do? Maybe they can still change their mind?”
“I don’t think so.” You said. The truth is, if there was anything that would change this, you would already do it. Sad reality hit you. Your moms don’t want you to be with Kate. Then you wondered if it was even important to you. I mean, of course, you want them to approve of your relationship, but they don’t. They just don’t understand that she’s the love of your life. Your whole heart. Your everything. At that moment, you made up your mind. “You know what? I don’t care what they say; I want to be with you. I love you, Kate. ” you said, determined, wiping the tears from your cheeks with the back of your hand. Your moms are not gonna come in between your love life. You won’t let them.
“I love you too and I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Are you sure, though? I mean, they are your moms. I don’t want your relationship with them to be destroyed because of me.” Kate said, her voice slowly quieting. You can’t help but feel your heart grow bigger with love for her if it is still even possible. She cares about you so much, you couldn’t be more sure about your decision.
“Yes, I want to be with you forever, Katie.” you said truthfully. “I can’t imagine my life without you.”
“I can’t imagine my life without you too. What are we gonna do about your moms?” she asked.
“I don’t know, yet.” you said. You didn’t like to lie to your moms, but in this case, you feel like you have to. “Maybe we can meet up today? I can say that I need to go for a walk to clear my mind or something. You can park your car a few streets away.” you said hopefully. “Sure, be there in an hour.” With that, you ended the call.
Kate will be here in an hour, so you intend to spend this time on getting ready. You had to wear something not too fancy for a walk but not too ugly for a hangout with your girlfriend. ‘Girlfriend’, after all this time you’ve been together, you still can’t believe you get to call her that. It makes your heart flutter every time.
After some time of thinking about what to wear and getting mentally ready to lie to your moms, you were ready to leave. Walking down the stairs, you opt to look upset, but without it looking weird. You know it is hard to lie to a witch and an ex-assassin.
You slowly made your way to put on some shoes when someone called from behind. “And where are you going, young lady?” You turned to see Nat with her arms crossed. “I hope it isn’t the girl I clearly said is dangerous for you to hang out with.” She said sternly.
That got your blood boiling. “If you want to know, I’m going for a walk to clear my head, because my mother said I can’t be with the love of my life!” You shouted, tears started to well up again. Nat stood a little shocked at the outburst but quickly recovered. “Quit the tone; you know I do this for your safety. I just want to protect you.” She said the last part a little softer.
“Whatever.” You said and walked out of the house, shutting the door.
You turned left and started going down the street; hopefully Kate is already there. As you walk, you make yourself slightly more presentable, fixing the hair and wiping the tears that once again started to flow because of the encounter with your mom. Turning left, you see Kate’s car parked on the side of the road. Smiling, you increased your speed and got into the car.
“Hi-” Kate didn’t manage to greet you because you immediately pulled her by her shirt into a long, passionate kiss. Your fist, full of the fabric, pulled Kate closer. Her hands flew to grip the back of your neck. Both missed the physical contact. Your lips, made to fit like two pieces, were moving against each other, stealing breath. Your lungs started to feel like they were on fire, but that didn't stop you from giving yourself to Kate in that kiss.
After a few minutes, you pull away from the kiss but still keep close to Kate. Your hand full of her shirt slightly loosens, yet the grip is still there. “Sorry, I just really missed you.” You said, looking down flustered. Finally, your eyes moved up, looking deeply into hers. “Hi.” you added after a moment of silence.
Kate smiled at you. “Hi.” She replied, giggling breathlessly. “I missed you too. So much.”
It’s so stupid how her smile and the little glint in her eyes can make you all giggly and weak in knees. You know you loved her to the moon and back, you can’t give up on your relationship just because your moms tell you to, not when everything in you is screaming that Kate is the endgame, your endgame.
“Hey, hey, hey. What's wrong?” you felt Kate's hands on your face, thumbs wiping your cheeks. You didn't realize that you were crying. Every emotion's built up in you, and right when you saw her, you just had to let it all go. “It's just, I don't want to be away from you. I love you so much and I'm sick of this sneaking out, or my moms telling me that I can’t be with you.” you sniffled, looking into her eyes. “God, you are everything I want. I want to be with you forever. When I think about my future, I see you and me, and I don’t care what our lives will look like as long as we are together; that's everything I want.” You really poured your heart out there. It’s not typical for you to be this vulnerable in front of Kate—actually in front of anyone; you’ve always kept everything to yourself.
Now that you think of it, you think you might have scared Kate. She’s silent, just staring at you, hands still on your face. You think you blew it, that it was too much for her. After all, you’ve been dating for only a little over a year. Thoughts started to flood your mind, creating the worst scenarios and just when you were about to apologize-
“Marry me.” Kate said, her face not showing any emotions. You were speechless; did you hear it right? Kate asked you to marry her? Well, it wasn’t really a question, more like as if she just admitted to herself that she wants to marry you. Nonetheless, there is still a part of you that believes that you heard it wrong. “What?” You breathed out, your eyes searching for reassurance in hers.
“Marry me.” She repeated more confidently this time as if coming back to life. “I’m serious. I know that we haven’t been dating for long, but I also want to be with you forever. I love you and I don’t want to be with anyone else; you are the only one for me. I want everything with you, I want you. This won’t be easy, but that’s great. Easy is boring.” you both giggled at that. “This is reckless and not normal at all, but let’s just be for real. We are reckless and nothing in our lives is normal, I mean, your moms are a witch and an ex-assassin and I am an Avenger. Nothing ever was normal and nothing will be, and frankly, I love it this way.” Kate ended her heartwarming speech with a big smile on her face, tears now also in her eyes. “So, Y/N Romanoff, will you marry me?”
“Yes!” You said matching her smile. “Of course I will marry you.” Pulling the shirt you still had a grip on, you pull Kate into a slow kiss, filled with salty tears. You think you’ve never been so sure about anything in your life. Honestly, that’s all you ever wanted, to marry the love of your life and that is marrying Kate Bishop.
“Good, cause I thought for a second that I went too far.” Kate started to ramble after pulling away. You thought that the best way to stop her from that was to kiss her again. It didn’t last long though, because after a few seconds she pulled back again. She turned so she’s sitting straight, her back to the seat, and started to wave her hands around. “Oh my, I need to buy a ring. God! I’m so unprepared!” You tried to stop her by calling her name, but that didn’t really work.
“Katherine Elizabeth Bishop!” Using her full name did work. She stopped immediately and looked at you. You giggled at her. “You need to stop worrying about that. I want to marry you, not the ring. I don’t need any rings, just you, okay?” Kate looked at you as if looking for clarification, then she cutely tilted her head and pouted and that just made you want to kiss her.
“I know, but I really want to get you a ring. You deserve that, you deserve a big proposal with-with rose petals, a nice dinner and a big diamond ring, not this. A girl who proposes in her car without even a paper ring.” She started having doubts about herself; you could see that. “I love that girl. I don’t need some rich and stuck-up proposal. I couldn’t have imagined it better than this.” You made sure she was looking at you as you said that to her. That was the truth, so you wanted her to believe you.
“Okay.. okay.” Kate clears her throat, then adds. “So, shall we go and get married now?” you both smiled at each other. Reaching for seat belts in order to fasten them, you answered. “Yes, we shall.”
It turned out it wasn’t that easy. You had to have witnesses. After some thinking, you reached out to Aunt Yelena, while Kate called Clint. Although it took some convincing to get the old man to drive here because, as he said, he doesn’t want to ‘deal with angry mothers anymore’, whatever that means, he might have been referring to Laura, but you’re not sure; you also think that he really just didn’t want to move his three letters.
Well, eventually, he agreed. Yelena didn’t need this much convincing; well, she didn’t need to be convinced at all. She said she’d be happy to piss off her sister; she mentioned something about getting back at her for borrowing, without her knowing, one of her vests and then destroying it on a mission, but you could have misheard.
Kate got anxious again, but this time about clothing. Both of you wore casual clothes, not right for a marriage. So that’s how you got dragged by Kate for a little shopping. It took you both a while, but in Kate's eyes it was worth it, because now you and her looked good.
It wasn’t long before you and Kate signed up the marriage license with Clint and Yelena next to you, and you were good to go. You bit your goodbyes with them, then made your way to Kate’s car. While you were both sitting, the car still not turned on, you realized what just happened. ”We just got married.” Kate stated firmly, her face not showing any emotions while looking straight ahead. You turned your head to look at her. ”We just got married.” She repeated, now with a big smile on her face. Also turning her head to you, she started to giggle. Hearing her laughter, you started to giggle yourself, also not believing that this is real.
Kate leaned in and brought her hand to the back of your neck to pull your foreheads together. ”You are my wife.” She said breathlessly. ”I am your wife.” You said in the same tone. Your wife pulled you into a long, passionate kiss. ”Damn, your moms are really gonna kill me now” Kate said after pulling away. This caused you both to burst out laughing. “Well, if this is my last hour, how about we make the best of it and go back to mine, my wife?“ She asked with a smirk on her face, clearly insinuating on doing something really not PG. Your cheeks turned slightly red, but you matched her smirk. “Lead the way, my wife.”
You’re sure that your superhero broke a few laws driving you to her apartment. Both of you are very eager and excited for what awaits you there. So as soon as the door was closed, Kate pushed you into it, trapping you between the wooden surface and her. Hands flying to your hips, squeezing and pushing more against the hardwood. Lips mingling with yours fastily, tongue pushing into your mouth, exploring the inside. Next thing you know, she was tagging at your pants, trying to take them off. Once you’re free from them, Kate’s hands traveled from your hips, over your ass, stopping on it for a second to squeeze, and then went downwards to the back of your thighs. With one swift movement, you were pulled from the door for a second, only to be pushed against it again, but this time with your legs around Kate’s waist.
Her kisses moved from your lips to nip at your neck, for sure, leaving lots of hickeys. You leaned your head back, revealing more skin on your neck. The particular bite on your pulse point made you moan. Your hands flew to her hair in order to pull her closer. With a mind full of thoughts about Kate, you breathlessly conhered some words. “B-bedroom… now.” you gasped when suddenly Kate pulled you both away from the door and started to blindly walk towards the bedroom. While you were stumbling across the living room, you threw your bag on the table, or at least you hoped it landed on the table, not caring about stuff inside. Though you’re pretty sure that your bag opened from the impact.
After some struggling, your back hit the bed with Kate on top of you. Lips once again connected, Kate started grinding her hips on yours. Suddenly, you felt it—the hardness underneath her pants. “Is-is that-?” You stuttered, then moaned because Kate pressed herself harder on you, so you feel it against your core.
“Mhm, a new one.” Kate smirked at you and again pushed her hips into yours, making you gasp. She leaned down to your neck and started to mark you everywhere she could. When she got to your pulse point, you moaned and gripped the back of her head, burying your fingers into her hair, pulling her closer. You feel hands tagging at your shirt. With your arms up, Kate swiftly takes off your shirt, leaving you in only your panties and bra. However, it doesn’t take long for her to also remove these undergarments. “So pretty.. so delicious, just for me to taste.” Kate’s hands started to wander.
Wanting to see more of Kate, you unbuttoned her shirt, slid it down her arms and then the shirt joined the rest of the clothes on the ground in the bedroom. Your hands immediately flew to her arms to feel her strong muscles. Then, to her abdomen, where she clearly has abs. “One of many perks of being an Avenger; lots of training that makes you have these muscles.” You stare in awe, biting your lip.
Kate leaned down again and nipped at your skin, making her path from your neck to your chest. She took your left nipple in her mouth, sucking on it hard, while her other hand squeezed the right breast. After some time, she switched the breasts and started sucking on the right one. ”Please, Kate… I want you.. now.” you pleaded.
Not wanting to tease you, just this night, Kate pulled away and took off the rest of her clothes, revealing the strap-on. “Purple?” You chuckle a little.
“What? I look good in purple.” Kate grinned and once again got on top of you. The strap was rubbing against your clit, making you shut your eyes and groan softly. “You want my cock, sweetheart?” Kate asked, rubbing her strap even harder.
“Yes! Please, Kate, I want your cock. Please fuck me.” You desperately rumble, your mind full of thoughts of how she can ruin you. This strap is definitely bigger than what you were used to, but you are willing to try this, considering how wet you are for her.
Kate leaned to your ear to whisper. “As you wish, babygirl.” Right after that, she harshly pushed at least a half of the strap in your pussy. Your moans and grunts get louder as she continues to slide in. “Fuck, baby. Always so tight for me.” You shut your eyes tightly as you feel more and more fuller with every second.
Finally, your hips were flush against each other. Your breath is more ragged as you try to get used to the fullness. “Kate… s-so full, fuck, so big” you moaned. After a few more seconds, Kate started to pull out and thrust her hips forward, causing you to let out a loud scream.
Your moans only encouraged Kate to keep going. The thrusts were much harder now; it made your head spin. You wrapped your arms around her back, burying your nails into it. Kate hissed into your ear from the harsh scratches, but it fuelled her to give you more. The room was filled with the sounds of your moans and the slapping of your hips with every thrust. “Kate- shit… I’m going to-” you are cut off by a hoarse groan that bursts out of your throat when Kate hits one particular place.
“It’s okay. Let go for me, baby.” Kate said breathlessly. That was all you needed, and soon your eyes rolled back. You arched your back into her, threw your head back and let out a silent scream. Kate was still thrusting into you as you were falling over the edge.
After you calmed down, she slowly pulled out of you. You groaned at the emptiness as you were trying to catch your breath. Kate was peppering your body with soft kisses. When she got up to your face, you smiled at each other. “That- that was incredible.” you said panting. “Glad you liked it, my love.” she pecked your lips. With a swift move, you turned you both over, so Kate was now on her back with you on top of her. “Let me return the favor.” you grinned and leaned down to kiss her.
 *****
You were lying on the bed with your head on Kate’s chest. Your arm around her abdomen, leg between hers. Kate has her arm wrapped around your bare body. The covers were loosely thrown on both of you as you were lying together in your own, quiet bubble.
“You know… I was thinking..” Kate started. You turned your head to look at her and wait for her to continue. “Since we are married now” this made you smile. You still can’t believe that this is real and that Kate is your wife now. “Maybe, if you want… you could move in with me.” your eyes widen at her words. A smile spread across your face. You lifted slightly from the bed to move closer to her and give her a passionate kiss in which you couldn’t stop smiling. The same goes for Kate.
When you pulled out, you looked her in the eyes. “Of course I want to move in with you!” you both had such big smiles on your faces that your cheeks started to ache. “Great! I was scared for a second that you wouldn’t want that. What will you tell your moms, though? Maybe you should-” as Kate continued to rumble, your heart stopped. Shit. Your moms, they don’t know anything, AND you said you were going for a walk, which is now about six hours long. Shit, shit. Your phone has been on silent since you went to get married. They probably called you and texted you a million times.
“Shit, my moms! They have to wonder where I am!” you said cutting her off and quickly got out of bed, panicking. You throw on yourself one of Kate’s hoodies, put on your panties and some Kate’s shorts. At the corner of your eye, you see that Kate also got up and started to get dressed. You left the bedroom and headed towards the living room, where you left your phone in the bag. Just as you walked into the living room space, your heart stopped at the sight.
So, now you know the story behind why an angry witch and a pissed-off ex-assassin broke into the apartment and were standing in the living room. They had their hands on their hips, with scowls on the faces. “Mom, mama-” You were immediately caught off. “Don’t mamas us!” Wanda scoffed. She rarely got angry, she preferred to do things the calm way. However, when she did get angry, oh boy, hide if you can.
They had every right to be angry and you knew it. So you chose to stay silent this time. “Do you want to explain where you’ve been?” Nat asked with her jaw locked tight. “And why, when I called Clint to ask if he knew something about your whereabouts, he said that he doesn’t want to get involved anymore?” this time Wanda spoke. “Or why, when I called Yelena to ask if she knew something, she just laughed and hung up?” Natasha added. It was as if they talked it through, because they were literally changing after one sentence. It was creepy. “You lied to us, went radio silent and met up with the one person we specifically told you not to see!”
The person, as if on cue, came into the living room and stopped dead in tracks. “Mrs. Romanoff and..” Kate cleared her throat “Mrs. Romanoff.” She stood right next to you, her eyes locked on anything but your moms. The thick tension could be cut with a knife. You didn’t know what they would do now, with Kate next to you.
“And here’s the person in the flesh.” stated firmly Natasha, her eyes shooting daggers at Kate. “Mom, please.” you pleaded. You didn’t want this place to turn into a war zone. “Please what? Y/N, we've forbidden you from seeing her and the next thing you did after that was see her! You don-”
“What is that?” Wanda stopped Natasha from further shouting at you as she noticed something. You turned your head where she was looking, and your face turned pale. Wands was looking at the coffee table where you had thrown your bag earlier. The bag opened from the impact and some things fell out of it on the table. One of the things was your and Kate's marriage license. Your heart stuck in your throat as Wanda walked closer to it. She reached for the paper, picked it up and for a moment there was silence. But only for a short moment.
“You got married?!” Wanda shouted, turning to face you and Kate. Now she was really, really angry. Like the kind of angry when she has her eyes narrowed, eyebrows furrowed so that they are almost touching, and the worst, the little tilt in her head. Now you were fucked. “You what?!” this time Natasha shouted.
“I-... we just..” you wanted to say something, but didn't know what. What do you say in a situation like that, though? It was tough, but fortunately Kate noticed that you were struggling and decided to speak for you. She reached her hand to yours and interlaced your fingers together. Kate cleared her throat, mentally preparing herself for anything that could happen after she spoke. “We did. We got married today.” you didn't think that was possible, but silence was never this loud.
“Why would you do that? And without any of us knowing” Wanda spoke angrily as she handed the married license to Nat.
Natasha read the license, still not believing what she just heard. Her eyes stopped at one point. “Bishop? You changed your last name to Bishop?” Natasha asked in disbelief, interrupting Wanda. “Yeah…” you said, unsure, waiting for the explosion from your parents.
However, there is something else on their faces. Hurt? Disappointment? Sadness? You couldn't tell, but you knew you didn't like it. “Mom, mama, please don't look at me like that.” you said sadly, there is a stone in your heart. “I've never wanted to get married without you there, but I also didn’t want to marry anyone but Kate. And you specifically told me that I can't be with her… I just.. I couldn't let that happen. I just want you to be happy for me.” you reasoned, tears once again pricking in your eyes. You felt Kate's hand smoothing your back, which calmed you a little.
“Mrs. Romanoffs, I really love your daughter. You care about her safety as much as I do. I promise to keep her safe and sound.” Kate calmly said, meaning every word.
Wanda and Nat looked at each other, having a silent conversation. Soon, they turned back to face you and Kate. “Oh God..” Nat groaned, letting out a breath. “Y/N, darling, we didn't want you to feel like that; we just…” she didn't really know how to say it, so Wanda took the wheel. “We just love you so much, we want to keep you safe. However, I admit that we did go a little too far. We shouldn't get between you and Kate.” she says. Your eyes lit up a little, a small smile started to spread on your face. “Does that mean..?” you asked, still not sure you understood what they just said. “Yes, you can see Kate.”
Now you have the biggest smile on your face. You jumped up and down and then pulled your mothers in a hug, squeezing in happiness. Your moms laughed a little and hugged you back. “We love you, darling, and we are happy for you.”
“Thank you. I love you both, very much.” you grinned and pulled away from the hug. You go back to stand next to Kate, whose smile is as big as yours, and interlace your fingers.
“However,” Natasha turned to Kate with a stoic expression. “If you hurt her, I will hunt you down.” Kate started to feel a little nervous again, but tried not to show it. “Of course, I-I would never hurt her; I love her.” she rumbled quickly.
Soon, Wanda and Nat left the apartment, saying that today they will leave you and Kate alone, but tomorrow they want you both at home for dinner.
You went back to bed, lying next to each other. Both of you fell asleep in a loving embrace.
Marry Me
Tumblr media
Summary: Once upon a time, you dreamed of marrying your girlfriend of two years but she broke up with you before you had the chance to ask her for her hand. Now with a wedding invitation in your hand, she's getting married but she's not marrying you.
Pairings: Past!Wanda Maximoff x reader, Yelena Belova x reader
Warnings: mention of cheating, angst with a happy ending, modern AU, no powers/Avengers, Starks aren't dead and decent parents lol
Word Count: 4.4k
‘Together with their families Wanda and Vision invite you to their wedding,’ the world around you seemed to become white noise. You didn’t hear your roommate talk about some guy that stood her up or the weatherman talking about the weather. Nothing else seemed to matter. “Are you listening to me?” No, you weren’t. That’s what you wanted to say but you stayed frozen, unable to speak. Sarah snatched the invitation out of your hand. You didn’t bother to stop her. “No fucking way this bitch invited you to her wedding,” Sarah had strong feelings about the ending of your relationship with Wanda. She had every right to be upset as she was the one to mend the broken pieces. “Are you going?”
“Fuck Sarah I don’t know,” you glanced at the time on the stove. “And I do not have time for this.” You were supposed to have a quick lunch at home and then return to the office for a meeting with important investors. Being blindsided by an invite to your ex-girlfriend’s wedding was something you didn’t have time for. “I have to go. Just leave it on the fridge,” you grabbed your backpack. Lunch was a protein bar and a banana.
“Hey, dumbass,” you stopped at the door, turning to face your roommate. “I love you.” You rolled your eyes.
“Love you too, dumbass.” You walked out of your apartment, not bothering with the elevator. It was a beautiful sunny day, a stark contrast to the emotions that were swirling inside of you. Once upon a time, you dreamed of marrying Wanda. You were together for 2 years and knew every detail of how she wanted the wedding to be. It would be out in the country, not too many people to save on money. Maybe on an apple orchard or magnolia trees surrounding the ceremony. You would have given her everything, no matter the cost, and you were looking at rings to buy. Then she broke up with you. It was rather sudden, out of the blue, and she never gave you a good enough explanation. She told you that she fell out of love with you. A month later, she and Vision started dating. Sarah figured she was cheating on you. You couldn’t stomach that possibility.
“Nice of you to finally show up,” Tony said as the elevator’s door opened to his office. You rolled your eyes and sat down in the empty chair in front of his desk. You gave Pepper a small smile.
“I’m technically early,” you opened the protein bar. “I got distracted at home.” Tony sent a questioning look to his wife.
“Do you want-?”
“No,” you cut him off. “Let’s begin.” You got out your tablet and the meeting began without a second thought. You were the Chief Entrepreneur of Stark Industries. Your parents were close friends with the Starks and you and Tony grew up together. He was the brother you never had. So when Howard stepped down as Executive Chairman, Tony took over and promoted Pepper to CEO and you to Chief Entrepreneur. You were responsible for managing a portfolio of entrepreneurs. Your team was the future of Stark Industries, taking on risks and coming up with new products while Pepper ran the company. You didn’t envy her job and you loved working here. It was the best part of your day. However, it got uncomfortable and awkward when you had to deal with the CFO, who happened to be Vision and Tony’s brother.
They weren’t related by blood but you knew that made no difference, you were close with Natasha and Yelena. Howard and Maria adopted Vision when you and Tony were in high school. He was two years younger than you. You remembered the day when Vision and Wanda announced their relationship so clearly. Tony dragged you into his office and asked if you wanted him to fire Vision and kick his ass. You told him that it wasn’t necessary. You were professional and respectful with the man. It was rare that your paths crossed. You only had to be in the same room as him during company-wide meetings or meetings with investors. Of course, you had one today. The universe was testing you.
Once Tony concluded the meeting, you and Pepper left his office. It was rare that he came to these types of meetings as he trusted you and Pepper to make the right calls regarding the company. You both stopped to make a quick coffee. “Can I ask you something?” She nodded. “Are you helping Wanda with her wedding?”
“She’s asked me for some advice here and there,” she looked at you curiously. “Why?”
“Do you know why she invited me then?” In hindsight, you probably should have waited for the CEO to not be taking a sip of her coffee before dropping the news. She coughed, choking on the hot liquid. You bite your lip, trying to get your laughter under control, and rubbed her back to help her calm down. “Sorry.” You giggled. She waved you off and wiped her mouth with a napkin.
“It’s fine,” she cleared her throat. “She invited you to her wedding.” You nodded as you continued on your way to the board room.
“I got the invitation today,” you said. “It was why I was late, kind of took me by surprise.” You took a sip of your coffee.
“Shit, I don’t blame you,” you giggled. You loved Pepper. She was a perfect fit for Tony. She was the only one that could reel in your brother’s energy. “Are you going to go?” You didn’t answer. “Tony is Vision’s best man and I know Wanda asked Natasha to be her maid of honor.” You weren’t surprised by that. Natasha was the reason Wanda was part of your workgroup and how you met her. The redhead held onto a lot of guilt because of what happened. You didn’t blame her.
“Not sure, Pep. We will see,” you saw Yelena and Natasha waiting for you and you quickened your pace. Natasha was the Chief of Staff and the first person you hired when you got promoted. She helped you manage executive goals and you trusted her to oversee projects you didn’t have time for. You worried when your relationship ended with Wanda your friendship would the redhead was going to be jeopardized. It wasn’t and a huge weight was lifted off your shoulders. “Are you ready?” You asked Yelena when you got closer. The blonde was the reason you were having the meeting. She was a new hire but there was no limit to the ideas she had. Her latest project would partner Stark Industries with Wakandans International to develop a better prosthetic.
“I think I’m going to throw up,” her Russian accent took you by surprise when you first met her as Natasha introduced her as her sister. You laughed, shaking your head.
“Don’t be nervous,” she gave you a pointed look. “Come here,” you dragged her away from her sister and Pepper to a more private area. “You are going to kill it today. Do you know why?” She shook her head. “Because you have a passionate for this project on a level I’ve never seen before,” she began to smile. “And you have the support of everyone at this company, okay?”
“Okay,” you smiled.
“Just go in there and speak with the same passion you had when you explained it to me and you’ll do great.”
“Thank you. I appreciate you having some much faith in me,” you put your hand on her shoulder and squeezed it.
“No need to thank me,” you brought her back over to her sister with her hand still on her shoulder. You didn’t miss the questioning look the redhead sent you and you removed your hand quickly. “Shall we?” You opened the door for your group and everyone found their seats to wait for the others.
The meeting went…okay. You introduced everyone to Shuri, T’Challa, and Okoye. You’ve spoken to the trip on the phone but it was nice to meet them in person. Yelena began to present her research and the importance of the partnership but Vision questioned every little thing to an annoying degree. You understood it was his job to understand how this would affect the company financially however it was starting to piss you off. Even Yelena knew he was getting on your nerves as you tirelessly defended everyone in your group. The glares he was sending your way weren’t helping. Was there trouble in paradise?
In the end, the deal was signed and work with the Wakandans could being. Plus, you didn’t murder your ex’s fiance so it was a win-win in your book.
*
You loved when a new deal was signed. It meant an influx of projects for your team to work on and more people to help. But the first day was meant with paperwork, scheduling, and delegating responsibilities. And meetings. So many meetings. You were tired, hungry, and in desperate need of a beer. You were putting on your headphones as you exited the elevator and headed for the door but a voice calling out your name caused you to stop. It was a voice you knew so well. “Wanda,” you said as your ex-girlfriend approached you. She looked good, wearing a long dress that touched the ground. Her hands were resting in front of her and she was playing with the rings that were on her fingers. A tale sign of her anxiety. “What are you doing here?” You questioned.
“Waiting for Vision,” Right. Of course, she was. That was a stupid question. “He said you and Yelena closed on a big deal.”
“We did,” you said. “Yelena did a majority of the work. I just guided her in the right direction.” You saw a strange emotion flash across her eyes. It was gone as quickly as it came so you couldn’t place it.
“Well congratulations,” you smiled as your thanks. An awkward beat of silence passed between you two. God, you didn’t know how to get out of this conversation. “Did you get your invitation?”
“Uh yes, I did,” Great. This is exactly where you didn’t want this conversation to go. “It was beautifully designed.” It wasn’t a total lie, you just had no memory of what it looked as you stared at the tagline - ‘Wanda and Vision invite you.’ Wanda and Vision. She wanted to get married but she wasn’t marrying you.
“Do you think-” your name being called out cut her off and you turned towards the sound. It was Yelena. You didn’t realize the blonde was still at the office and you never been more excited to see her.
“Ugh,” she groaned. “I didn’t think you were going to wait for me.” She said as she got closer. “Oh hi, Wanda.” The blonde plastered a fake smile on her face.
“Hi Yelena,” the smile on Wanda’s face was strained. Yelena looked at you.
“Ready to go get drinks?” Drinks? Her green eyes said a lot more than her simple statement. She was giving you an out. You made a mental note to increase her yearly bonus.
“I am,” you smiled at your ex. “It was good seeing you, Wanda. I’ll see you around.”
“Of course,” she said. “Congratulations, again. You both deserve to celebrate.” Yelena linked her arm with yours.
“Bye Wands,” the blonde dragged you to the door. When you both stepped outside and you were out of sight, Yelena dropped her arm. “Boy, you could feel the tension in the lobby.” You let out a relieved sigh.
“Thank you for the save,” you said. “I owe you one.” She shrugged.
“Don’t mention it. I do it a lot for Kate and America when we go out. It’s second nature,” she started to smile. Oh, that smile was trouble. “Buuuut, if you want to make it up to me I know of a bar that is close by. We do have something to celebrate.”
“Hmm,” you placed your hand on your chin pretending to think. “I don’t think we have anything to celebrate,” you teased. “And I am pretty tired.” You faked a yawn.
“Suka (bitch),” you pushed on your shoulder. You gasped.
“That is assault,” you said. “I’m calling HR.” Yelena rolled her eyes.
“Are we going or not?”
“Lead the way, printsessa (princess),” you bowed. She laughed, throwing her head back at your pathetic attempt at Russian. You liked the sound of it.
*
“I still can’t believe you are going to this stupid wedding,” Sarah said through Face time. You sighed as you put your tie underneath the collar of your shirt. “And you didn’t even bring me.”
“I didn’t have a plus one,” that was 100% on purpose. The last thing Wanda would have wanted was for your best friend that wasn’t her number 1 fan to come to her wedding. “What else was I supposed to do? Tony closed the office because everyone was invited and you are visiting family.” You weren’t going to sit at home and be depressed. At least some of your friends were going to be there, but most importantly Yelena. “You put your jacket on. “How do I look?” You were in an all-gray suit with a white shirt. The only pop of color came from your tie.
“Hot,” Sarah said. “Damn if I were into chicks I’d grab you.” You rolled your eyes.
“Thanks,” you sighed, looking down at the watch Howard gave you for your 18th birthday. “I better get going. I’ll text you after the ceremony.”
“Good luck!” You ended the call. You were going to need more than you, what you needed was at least 5 shots.
*
The ceremony was in an apple orchard. It appeared the happy couple rented out the inn and the orchard for a private wedding. You were handed confetti as you approached the rows of seats. There were small groups of people, all of them you knew, waiting for the ceremony to begin. You saw Pepper, who sent you a small wave. You waved back and sat in the back row at the end of the row. Thankfully, no one came up to you to talk because you weren’t in the talking mood. Instead, you played with the watch on your wrist. “Well,” you looked towards the voice and saw Howard Stark. “Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes?”
“Mr. Stark,” you stood up, holding out your hand for him to shake. The man rolled his eyes and pulled you into a hug.
“Please. I changed your diapers when you were a kid,” you felt your body heat up in embarrassment. “Drop the act, kid, it makes me feel old,” you smiled and sat down, leaving the end seat for him. “How are you? You don’t come by the house anymore.” That was true. You didn’t want to run into Wanda or Vision by chance.
“I’ve been busy,” you told him. “Your son is running me ragged.” It was the furthest thing from the truth but it pulled a laugh out of the older man.
“It was the best decision that boy has ever made promoting you and Pepper,” you smiled. “But how are you?” He asked again. “How is this?” He placed a gentle hand on your heart. You sighed, looking at the ceremony. This was going to be you, marrying Wanda but she picked someone else.
“Tired, Howard, if I’m being honest. I feel a little lost,” he nodded. You knew the man would never judge you. He’s seen you at your lowest point when you found out your parents were killed in a car accident. You were in a meeting with him and Tony when Maria came in to tell you. Losing them broke you but the Starks were there to catch you. It was why it hurt so much that it was Vision who started dating Wanda.
“I always told my boys to go after what they wanted, I never expected that advice to hurt someone I considered a daughter,” your breath hitched. You always so him as a father-like figured but hearing him call you his daughter brought tears to your eyes. You looked at the archway. You didn’t blame him. “But,” he grabbed onto your shoulder. “You will have your love story that will arrival that of your parents and I can’t wait to see it,” you fought the tears that threatened to fall. “You will always be a Stark, okay?”
“Okay,” you whispered.
“Now I must be going but we will drink at the bar,” he stood up fixing his tie. “I believe I’m paying for it so drinks are on me.” You laughed, whipping away a tear.
“Thank you, Howard,” he gave you a salute and got ready for the ceremony. Folding your hands you sat back and watched as the seats began to fill. Soft music began to play and you were going to need a drink after this.
*
You took a glance at the seating chart. Table 3 with Natasha, Bucky, and Yelena. You were grateful she did that for you. Did you look like an alcoholic as you were the first one to the bar? Probably but you didn’t care. Besides you knew everyone at this wedding and it wasn’t like you were here to impress anyone. You ordered a strawberry mojito and waited for your drink as the rest of the guests filed in. “You know,” you turned to face Yelena as she walked over to you. She was wearing a light green full-length dress. It had a deep v-neck and a slit that went up to her thigh. Her blonde hair was braided. “I did not believe my sister when she said you’d RSVP but here you are.” She ordered herself a long island.
“Yelena,” you said. “You look gorgeous.” The compliment flowed so easily off your lips. You liked the blush that crept up on her cheeks.
“You don’t look half bad yourself,” she fixed the collar of your shirt. “How did you enjoy the ceremony?” She got her drink from the bartender.
“I’m glad to be drinking,” you said, holding out your arm. She took it and you walked her over to your table. The blonde laughed.
“Well, it’s an open bar. So let’s drink till our heart’s content.”
The reception was fun. The first dance was beautiful and speeches made by Tony and Pietro made you laugh. But if you were being honest with yourself, you weren’t paying attention. You found yourself watching Yelena. You weren’t sure when your feelings shifted for the blonde. Since the partnership with the Wakandans, you and she spent late nights at the office. Those nights were filled with laughter, stories, and dreams shared, and stressing over upcoming deadlines. For the first time since your breakup with Wanda, you felt free. Even Tony said something about your mode change.
Natasha sat down next to you with another drink. “I love that you’ve moved on from Wanda,” she handed you the drink. “But can you stop undressing my sister in front of me?” You jumped, startled by the accusation.
“Nat, shit, I’m sorry,” her laughter cut your nervous rambling off. “That’s not funny,” you whined, taking a sip of your drink. It was a lot stronger than your other ones. You wondered if she made it herself.
“I think it’s hilarious,” she leaned back in her chair. “So are you going to ask her out or just stare at her all night?” You groaned, rubbing your hands across your face.
“I don’t know,” your eyes immediately went back to the blonde. She was standing with Kate and Carol. The brunette must have said something funny because she laughed. God, she was beautiful. She must have felt eyes on her because she looked around until her green eyes found you. She waved and you waved back.
“Look, I’m going to intervene because I love you both. She likes you so make a move,” you looked at the redhead, trying to find any sense that she was messing with you. But you found none.
“Are you sure okay with this?” You questioned. “Because if you aren’t I will ignore my feelings for her,” Natasha put her hand on your shoulder.
“She will treat you better than Wanda,” she squeezed. “And if she does anything to hurt you. I won’t hesitate to kill her.” You covered your mouth as you laughed to now draw attention to you. “Go be happy.” You stood up, grabbing your drink.
“Thank you,” you began to walk over to the blonde. You were nervous. If she was going to allow you to date her, it would be different than dating Wanda. You worked with her, you were technically her superior. If it ended as badly, it could affect the work dynamic. But you couldn’t think like that. You had to take it one step at a time.
“Hi,” Wanda stepped in front of you. She changed out of her wedding dress and into a shorter one. “I’ve been meaning to talk to you all night.”
“Must be hard being the woman of the hour,” you took a sip of your drink and locked eyes with Yelena over Wanda’s shoulder. You gave her a reassuring smile. Wanda chuckled, sipping on her drink. It wasn’t her normal cocktail, which was strange unless being with Vision changed her that much.
“Do you have a minute to talk?” You didn’t but you nodded. She led you to a balcony, and your surprise there was no one out there. She leaned her back against the metal railing. Her hands were on her stomach, playing with the wedding ring. It hit you. The drink wasn’t alcoholic, her hands on her stomach. You took a sip of your drink.
“Your pregnant,” you said. She almost dropped her glass.
“How did-” she cut herself off with a laugh. “I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.” You moved to stand next to her. “It was impossible to keep things from you.” ‘I guess you found a way,’ you wanted to say but you bite your tongue.
“How long?”
“2 months,” That was why they got together so quickly. That was why the engagement came out of nowhere. She cheated on you. Your stomach dropped. “Y/n-” she went to touch your arm but you jerked away from her.
“Don’t,” you hissed. “Don’t try to justify your cheating on me.” Oh, Sarah was going to have a field day with this. You took a deep breath in and slowly let it out, trying to keep your emotions at bay. “Are you happy?” It took a moment for her to reply.
“I am,” you nodded.
“Then go be happy with Vision and I’ll be happy with someone else. Have a nice life.” You turned to leave.
“With Yelena,” you didn’t like how she said her name. A hint of dislike and jealousy. When you faced her she was already looking at you. That same look was in her eyes that night in the lobby. She was jealous and possessive. Oh, it was comical.
“Don’t say her name like that,” you said, closing the gap between you and your ex. “Do you want to know the difference between me and you? You moved on while we were still together and didn’t have the guts to call it off because you slept with someone else. You have no right to be jealous over something you have no claim to. See around Wanda,” You waved over your shoulder as you walked back into the party. Drowning the rest of your drink, you saw that Yelena was still talking to Kate but America joined them. You through your cup away and walked over to the trio. You placed your hand on Yelena’s back as you approached them. The blonde looked at you, smiling. “Mind if I burrow her?” Kate and America smirked at each other.
“She’s all yours,” you thank them and moved your hand into hers, leading her out of the party. She squeezed your hand every few seconds, singling she was still with you. Finally, you stepped outside.
“I was going to give you 5 more minutes with her before I went and saved you,” you smiled, bringing her closer to you. She set her drink on the table. God, she was gorgeous. The lights danced in her green eyes.
“Can I kiss you?” You asked the urge was becoming too strong to ignore.
“Please,” she whispered. You connected your lips with hers without a moment’s hesitation. Her arms wrapped around your neck, pulling you closer to her. You felt her smile against your lips. Soon you pulled away but you kept her close, feeling her breath against your lips and her heartbeat racing. “I’m sorry about Wanda.” The mention of your ex snapped you out of your haze.
“Did you know?” She looked away, glancing at the reception through the window. But you gently placed a finger underneath her chin to look at you.
“I did but I’m not even sure if Natasha and Tony know and I thought she told you,” she was working herself into a panic attack. You brushed your nose against hers and captured her lips in a quick kiss. She calmed down. “I caught them at the office. It was late like so fucking late,” you chuckled. “I wasn’t sure what the hell I stumbled on. I think you were with Tony on a business trip to Japan,” you remembered that trip. You didn’t want to go as you and Wanda were planning on going to visit her family. “I’m sorry.” You weren’t sure if it was the alcohol or her being so close, you weren’t sure why she was apologizing. But that brain power was for the future, sober you to figure out.
“It’s okay, sweetheart,” that much you knew. You didn’t blame her. “We’re okay.” She let out a sigh. “Do you want to get out of here?” A playful smirk formed on her lips.
“I’ve been waiting all night for you to ask.”
*
Wanda stood in her kitchen, listening to her twins playing with their toys with the TV on with the latest episode of Bluey, as she flipped through the mail. A majority of it was junk mail; magazines she didn’t remember signing up for or ads trying to get her to buy something. Her fingers stopped on an envelope addressed to her and Vision written in beautiful writing. She ripped it open and stared at the invitation, ‘You are invited to the wedding of Yelena and Y/n, with a reception to follow.’
FALLING SLOWLY
Pairing: Yelena Belova x fem!reader
Words: 1.8K
Tumblr media
Living with a trained spy is, at least, curious. Natasha Romanoff was a peculiar individual, with weird mores. It wasn’t strange to find the red-head at 4 am fully awake, living for a run or having breakfast to start her day. On the other hand, Y/n still had, minimum, three to four more hours of sleep.
However, they understood each other perfectly. Chores were shared thoughtfully, Natasha not being able to get near the kitchen -she was capable of burning water-, and Y/n was forbidden near the washing machine -she had turned more than one white piece of clothing into another completely different colour. They had been sharing a home for years, but then a purple alien decided to blow up the compound, and they decided to buy a flat for themselves.
******
“Y/n… My precious friend, my favourite hero, my super talented cook” Natasha said in a singing voice as she entered the kitchen area, where Y/n was making pancakes for breakfast. As it was a Sunday, Natasha gave herself the pleasure to sleep in a bit.
“Stop that… What do you want? I don’t have Wanda’s ability to read your mind, but I know you well enough to know you want something”
“What? No” Y/n gave her an unimpressed look, “Okay, fine… So you know my sister Yelena, right? She was freeing some widows, and she just returned from the blip… We’ve been apart for so long, she has nowhere to go…” Y/n continued mixing the pancake mix, but raised her eyes to meet her friend’s ones.
“Can you go straight to the point please, this isn’t like you” Natasha sighed, feeling caught up, looking like a kid that had just broken a plate.
“Alright… I wanted to ask you if she can come live here with us? We have a spare room, she is nice, most of the time” the last part she mumbled, but kept eye contact with her roommate. The spy relaxed when she saw Y/n’s lips forming a wide smile.
“Nat, you could’ve just said that… Of course, she can come, I’m excited to meet her” Y/n went around the kitchen aisle to hug her friend quickly.
“Great, because she’ll be here in thirty minutes, thank you” Astonished, and with wide eyes, Y/n separated from Natasha, looking at her shocked.
“What? Oh, fuck you. What would you have done if I said no?”
“You forget that I also know you, you are too good to say no” Y/n returned to her task, shaking her head in disbelief, while Natasha went to prepare the spare room for Yelena.
Y/n decided to take a shower so she didn’t smell like pancakes when Yelena arrived. She also changed her clothes to something more presentable, and put come concealer on. When she got out, she heard her friend talking to someone with a very thick accent. That must be Yelena, she thought, while taking a deep breath and heading towards them.
The first thing she noticed of the blonde girl was that deep, husky laugh, as well as her voice. Once Yelena was fully in her sight, she could take her traits completely. She was quite tiny, but you could tell she was strong anyway, her hair was long, falling in waves onto her shoulder, she had the cutest round nose, and rosy cheeks. And as soon as they locked eyes, Y/n felt her breathing stop. Yelena’s eyes were the most beautiful shade of green, dots of what looked like gold tainted them.
Natasha was quickly introducing them, a small smirk on her face as she took in her friend’s shook. “Sestra, this is Y/n, my friend and roommate. Y/n this is Yelena, my baby sister”
“It is a pleasure to meet you” Y/n felt in some kind of trance, not being quite able to take her eyes off the smaller woman. You’re being creepy, stop it, her mind screamed at her, but she didn’t put any attention to it. What she did put her attention on was that accent, that now that she was closer, it was making her feel things that she didn’t want to acknowledge.
“Your accent is so cool” Eyes widened. Y/n’s face flushed in red, Natasha was trying so hard to not laugh, and she could’ve sworn Yelena’s cheeks were a bit more rosy than they were before. Well, she could’ve if she wasn’t so mortified. "I mean… It’s obviously a pleasure to meet you too… Who wants some breakfast?”
The blonde girl let out a loud “yes, please” and they headed to the sofa -they weren’t quite fond of eating on tables-. Y/n held herself back trying to calm down her pounding heart, but her roommate didn’t seem to think she had suffered embarrassment enough, “Stop mindfucking my sister in your head and come eat!” With a groan, and an annoyed expression, she joined the other two women, the frown on her face disappearing when she saw the two sisters together and laughing again.
******
Living with two sisters was, at least, interesting. They didn’t fight a lot, but when they did, the whole building shook. The worst part is that mostly those fights were because of stupid -in Y/n’s opinion- stuff. What to eat, who had to clean the bathroom, who chose what to watch on the TV… They were usually short, loud fights, but they had been fighting for twenty minutes, and Y/n couldn’t take it any more.
“That’s enough!” Finally, they shut up, looking at Y/n surprised. She didn’t tend to get in the middle of their arguments. “You’ve been fighting for almost half an hour over who will do the dishes, don’t worry I’ll do it, but please, lock yourselves in your rooms, because this is getting out of control.
The sisters looked ashamed, but knew that saying anything else wouldn’t help, so they left. Y/n headed to the kitchen, angry at her friends. She loved them, truly, but this was getting exhausting. Y/n knew that living with other people could be tough, but their fights were just ridiculous.
She had been cleaning for a few minutes when some footsteps came behind her. “I really don’t want to talk right now”.
“I just wanted to apologize to you” She didn’t have to turn around to know it was the blonde girl. Y/n would recognize that voice anywhere, that accent constantly running in her mind. The taller woman had accepted that she may or may not have some feelings towards Yelena, not that she was ever telling her friend that. Especially after knowing her for just a few weeks.
“I’m sorry for yelling at you, but it was getting absurd” She sighed and turned around to face the blonde, only to find her looking down, a sad frown on her face.
“I know it sounds like an excuse, but living with someone after so many years being alone it’s weird, hard” Y/n slightly knew their story, Natasha telling her when they found each other again, and their mission to bring down the Red Room.
“Hey, Lena? Don’t worry, it’s just sometimes I get triggered by shouts. My parents were constantly fighting when I was little, and I just hate it” Y/n felt a Yelena move to be closer, taking her hand, and stroking her finger on her knuckles. “I’ll try to do better I promise you” The Russian said, as Y/n hugged her, softly muttering a thank you.
Yelena then offered to help Y/n, so they cleaned the rest of the plates, doing small talk. What the girls didn’t notice was a certain redhead looking at them, with a small smile, watching at how the younger women laughed, Y/n pushing the blonde’s shoulder, while the latter rolled her eyes.
******
And Yelena did what she promised, fights minimum after two months. Bickering was still there, but most of the time it was more joking and teasing than serious. On the other hand, Yelena and Y/n entered a curious dynamic. They understood each other pretty well; shopping was their alone time without Natasha, not that she bothered them, but it was nice to have it.
Y/n had accepted that she did have feelings towards the blonde, but didn’t want to make her uncomfortable, so she never said anything. However, she wasn’t sure that the older woman didn’t also feel something, teasing and flirting was quite common, coming from her, but Y/n desperately convinced herself that it was just how Yelena was.
Those thoughts were running through her mind almost all the time, thankfully shower time let her rest from them, music blasting out the speakers of her phone. When she got out, she wrapped a towel around her body, it barely covered her butt, but she was sure her roommates were in their rooms.
She headed to her dormitory, humming the song she had been listening to without paying any attention to her surroundings until she bumped into something, making her slip with the water she was leaving on the floor, as well as her towel. Y/n expected to feel the floor against her back, but it never came.
An arm was wrapped around her waist, holding her close so she wouldn’t fall. A whimper came out of Y/n, when she locked eyes with the person in front of her. Yelena had her eyes widened, her hand hot against the younger woman’s back. They stayed in shock for a few seconds, but when the blonde returned to her senses, quickly separated from Y/n, picking the towel and handing it to the other girl.
Y/n muttered a soft thank you, while she walked -more like run- to her bedroom, closing the door behind her and resting against it. Her body was aroused by the thought of Yelena’s hands purposely running through her naked body. She felt like she needed to take a cold shower this time, but she wasn’t coming out of her room until dinner time, not feeling prepared to face the blonde girl again. What she didn’t know was that Yelena was in the same state as her, she was seated on the end of her bed, staring intensely at her hand, the feeling of Y/n’s back still lingering on her fingers.
A few hours later, three women were eating in silence, the younger ones looking at their plates as if they were the most interesting thing in the world, while the older burned her gaze into their skulls, taking their faces. “What is going on with you two?”
And, finally, the girls looked up. They quickly glanced at each other, cheeks red instantly. “Nothing” both of them said, and Natasha for once didn’t push any further, enjoying the girls’ embarrassment.
In the last few weeks, you and Yelena have become closer to each other. You spent a lot of time together and your crush on her grew because of that. She often visited you at the compound or you drove to her apartment. Spending time together also distracted you from worrying about Natasha and Bucky since they were both on a long and difficult mission. Even though you knew you didn’t have to worry about Bucky, you couldn’t help it because he’s your best friend. And Natasha is also one of the best assassins out there, probably even the best, but since Yelena is her sister, she can’t help it either.
So, for the past few weeks you’ve been watching movies or TV shows, visiting some places in New York that Yelena hasn’t seen yet and wanted to see, and when you found out that Yelena can only cook mac and cheese, you had to change that and asked if she would like to cook something with you. You had a lot of fun and Yelena started to really enjoy cooking with you. Yelena and you also really enjoyed being outside at night and watching the stars. Sometimes Yelena would fall asleep almost cuddling with you and resting her head on your chest. This also happened when you had movie nights together, and you loved when that happened.
You love hanging out with Yelena. You love everything about it. Her silly jokes, her sarcastic comments, her laughter, sitting close to each other and having a deep conversation late into the night.
The other Avengers who weren’t on a mission all noticed how close you were. Wanda always smiling at you both and Clint was also very happy that you were having fun together.
You were currently sitting on the couch in the living room at the compound and were discussing what you wanted to watch this time.
“So, what do you want to watch?” You asked as you opened Netflix.
“What would you suggest?” She asked shyly and you smiled at her.
“Hmm, let me think.” You said, looking at your movie watchlist you had on Netflix.
“What about this one? It’s called ‘Little Women’, and I really liked it the first time I saw it.”
“Okay, let’s watch that.” She said and you started to giggle.
“What?” She asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Maybe you should know that there is an actress in this movie who looks a lot like you.”
“Is that why you like this movie?” Yelena said, starting to blush.
“Maybe” You teased.
“Okay...umm, let’s just watch the movie.” Yelena said quietly and you started the movie.
After a while you sat very close to each other, and rested your head on her shoulder while you watched the movie. You were so distracted by the movie that you didn’t even hear the Quinjet land at the compound. You didn’t even notice the elevator door opening behind you.
“Hey you two.” You suddenly heard Natasha say. You both quickly moved away from each other and turned around. You started to smile when you saw Bucky standing there. You got up from the couch and ran to Bucky.
“I’m so glad you’re back safely.”
“I missed you.” Bucky said and wrapped his arms around you. As you hugged him, you heard Yelena walk towards Natasha.
“You’re back sestra! “Yelena said and hugged Natasha.
You decided to let them take a shower, while you finished the movie. After you all had dinner together, Bucky and Natsha told the others about the successful mission. Then Steve suggested to watch a movie. After the movie ended, you went to your room. You had only been there a few minutes when you heard a knock on your door.
“Come in.” You said and Bucky opened the door.
“Hey.” He said with a smile.
“Hey, Buck.” You said, walking up to him with a smile.
“I thought I’d come to you to hear what I missed while I was away.”
“Sure, come on, let’s sit down.” You said and walked over to your bed. Bucky sat down next to you, and you smiled at him.
“So, what do you want to know?”
“Isn’t there something you want to tell me?”
“I don’t know what you mean, Buck?” You said and Bucky chuckled.
“When were you going to tell me that you and Yelena are finally a couple?” Bucky said and you were confused now.
“What no me and Yelena are just friends.”
“You’re kidding right?” Bucky said and you just shook your head, not knowing what to say.
“Yelena looks at you like you’re her entire world.”
“What?” You said nervously.
“It’s so obvious that Yelena likes you too. The way she looks at you tells everything.”
“Are you sure, Buck?”
“Definitely.” You smiled and started telling Bucky everything he missed and how you and Yelena became so close.
“Please promise me that you will tell Yelena about your feelings for her.”
“Okay, I promise, but I don’t know how.”
“Just tell her how you feel and what she means to you.”
“Thanks, Buck. You’re the best.” Bucky started to smile and pulled you closer with his metal arm. You talked for a few more minutes when Bucky decided to look for Steve.
Three days have passed since Bucky and Natasha returned from the mission. You were watching a movie with Bucky, Steve, Natasha, Wanda and Yelena. After the movie ended you talked for a few more minutes until Bucky suddenly said.
“I think I’m heading to my room, I’m already tired.” He said and looked at Steve.
“Yeah, me too.”
“Okay, goodnight, Grandpas.” Natasha said, making the others laugh while Bucky and Steve looked at her annoyed. Before Bucky left the room, he winked at you. Natasha and Wanda stayed for a few minutes and then decided to leave as well. So, now you were alone with Yelena.
“Do you want to watch something?” She asked and you nodded, but then had to think about what Bucky had said. Now was the opportunity to tell Yelena.
“Well, actually there’s something I’ve been wanting to tell you for a while.”
“Of course, go for it.” She said but sounded a little nervous.
“Well, how do I start…” You took a deep breath and Yelena smiled softly at you.
“Yelena, I like you a lot and not just as a friend. My day always gets better when I see you…you mean so much to me.”
“Oh, Y/n, I can’t believe you’re saying that because I feel the same way about you.” She said, making you smile.
“Really?”
“Yeah, I was just too shy to tell you and wasn’t sure if you feel the same way, especially because of my past.” Yelena said, looking away for a second, but then back at you.
“Hey, I know you’ve been through a lot and that doesn’t change anything. I love you for who you are.”
“Thank you for saying that, it means so much to me.”
“So, what are we doing on our first date?” You asked and her smile started to grow, and she spoke, “I think I already have an idea.”
You were so glad that Yelena feels the same way and you can’t wait to see what idea she has for your first date.
This Thing Called A Date
Yelena Belova x gn!reader
WC: 606
CW: idiots in love; fluff; first date nerves
Summary: You take Yelena on her first ever date.
Day 29 of mk’s mad dash
Tumblr media
You really hope that your date with Yelena goes more smoothly than asking her out had.
“You look like you want to say something,” the blonde declares rather bluntly.
“Well, I uhm. There’s this thing,” you scratch your neck anxiously, “this thing called a date and-“
“I know what a date is,” Yelena interrupted matter-of-factly.
Heat rises to your cheeks, “oh right, well, I just didn’t know if you knew about them because of the red room and…”
You trail off at Yelena’s amused face and let out a nervous chuckle.
“Sorry, I’m rambling. I just, well I wanted to know if you wanted to go on a date?”
Now, you fidget anxiously in front of Yelena’s door, working up the courage to knock. And you should be able to. You’re an Avenger for goodness sake.
But before you get the chance, the door opens.
“You’ve been standing here for five minutes. Why didn’t you knock?” Yelena asks.
“How- I.”
She smirks at you and shakes her head, “so silly.”
You just stare at her, your mouth opening and closing silently like a fish.
“So are we going somewhere or…”
“Right, right, sorry!” You shake yourself out of your stupor, “let’s go.”
After countless hours of thinking about where to take Yelena, you’d finally settled on the park near the Avengers Tower. It felt like the most neutral place to go- no risk of spilling food on yourself, no embarrassing yourself at mini golf or bowling, and no chance of paying for a movie that would end up being the worst one known to mankind.
Besides the few dog-walkers, kids playing, and old folks chatting, the park is peaceful and perfectly intimate.
“So are you, like, taking me for a walk? Like a dog?” Yelena asks casually as she walks beside you.
“I- no- uhm- we can go somewhere else if-“
The blonde busts out laughing, “I’m joking, I’m joking! Why so serious?!”
You stop in your tracks and huff, “because, Yelena. I like you, a lot. This feels pretty serious to me.”
The grin on her face falters and is replaced by her ever-so familiar frown.
“I’m sorry. I’m not being very nice. I’m just,” she sighs and scuffs her heel on the concrete, “I’m really nervous. And when I’m nervous, I rely on jokes.”
“You’re nervous too?”
Her eyes don’t meet yours, instead focusing on the ground, “yeah, of course I am. You’re you, and I’ve never been on a date before and….”
Tentatively, you reach out and grab her hands. She looks up, surprised by your touch.
“Why don’t we both agree to just stop being freaks and just talk. I mean it’s you and me. We’re great together, okay?” you insist.
The blonde starts to smile again and your heart flutters happily in your chest.
“Okay, silly.”
A small giggle escapes your lips and she chuckles too.
“Okay.”
And as Yelena looks at you like that- so sweetly and sincerely, you can’t fight the urge to kiss her. You grab onto the loops of one of her favorite vests and pull her towards you, kissing her intensely.
When you pull away she sighs, “that was nice. I liked that very much.”
“And I like this vest,” you teased, “it’s very handy.”
“That’s what I’ve been telling everyone,” she exclaims, “the vest has so many uses, it can hold things, you can clip stuff-“
And as much as you love to hear her ramble on and on, she’s just too cute for you to handle. You pull her back in and kiss her again, her words getting muffled by your mouth on hers.
Asking from the prompt list, 37 holding hand and someone point it out !
Not realizing they’re holding hands till someone points it out
I love them so much I’ll cry
——
Kate wasn’t sure why she had decided to forego gloves when she left her apartment in the morning, but sometime halfway through her walk with Clint and their respectively favorite Black Widows, the chill in the air had stopped bothering her reddened fingers.
With Yelena on her right, Clint and Natasha just ahead of them, and the dogs on either side of the older Avengers, the six of them made their own ragtag pack. It made Kate’s chest squeeze pleasantly whenever she had the energy to think about it.
“Kate Bishopppp, you are so slowwwww,” Yelena whines playfully from beside her, her smile bright and eyes glimmering. Kate can’t help but to return the grin. On any normal day, Yelena was breathtaking, but out here, in the early morning January chill, with her cheeks rosy and her button nose tipped with pink, it took all of Kate’s willpower not to kiss her.
”You’re staring.” The blonde next to her gives a little giggle, the creases in the corners of her eyes deepening as her smile grows. Kate shakes her head and has the decency to feel sheepish, but her heart is glowing comfortably.
”Sorry, sorry,” the archer laughs quietly, her stomach tingling with butterflies. They continue to grin at each other, their feet moving them without much thought of where they were.
“You are still very slow,” Yelena teases, her head tilting closer to Kate.
”You don’t have to keep walking with me.” Kate leans in closer in turn, their breaths clouding together in the cold air and warming her chin. It sends shivers down her spine, completely unrelated to the chill.
“Maybe if you stopped dragging each other around by your hands you’d be better at keeping up.” Natasha’s voice is a sudden sharp contrast when it cuts through the heat and tension between Yelena and Kate, and the two woman startle, the hands wrenching apart.
Kate stares down at her hand and wiggles her fingers as her cheeks blaze. She hadnt even realized she’d been holding Yelena’s hand, and by the similarly flustered look on the blonde’s face, neither had she.
Natasha barks a laugh, the dogs dancing around her feet in confused excitement. Clint only gives a small smile at the two of them before he continues to walk.
Kate keeps her hands in her pockets for the rest of the walk, but the shared glances with Yelena don’t stop, and when they return back to the compound, the assassin’s bruised knuckles brush over the archer’s calloused ones.
It was raining. Y/N was in a single bed, lying awake next to Evie, who was sound asleep. The sound of the rain was pounding on the windows. Y/N got out of bed, careful to not awaken Evie. She walked to the ensuite and looked in the mirror. Her face was bruised under her eye and she had marks down her neck. She didn’t remember getting them, but then again, she didn’t remember a lot from last night. She looked over at Evie, still sleeping peacefully and looking as beautiful as always. It wasn’t fair, everyone always called Evie “the pretty friend”. Y/N undressed and got in the shower. She gently washed her face, letting last night's makeup wash away. She and Evie had snuck out to go to the cemetery, where they drank a bottle of whiskey they stole from their training instructor. Everyone knew he was a drunk. Y/N was racking her brain, trying to remember what they did together. She had a vague memory of Yelena telling her not to sneak out, but that happened before they got to the cemetery. A sinking feeling grew in Y/N’s stomach. Something happened, something horrible happened. She just couldn’t remember.
Logan was yelling again. He wasn’t happy that the Professor told Y/N about Evie. “She’s still recovering!” he yelled. Jean was nodding in agreement. Y/N scoffed, she wasn’t that fragile. She’s lived a thousand lifetimes over the course of 30 years. She’s tougher than Logan gives her credit for. She’s survived Evie before, she can do it again.
“I can fight. I’m fine to fight. Sure, my legs are still burnt but that’s nothing compared to what these kids are dealing with. Let me fight, please”
“I wish we could, dear” Logan started saying. Y/N stood from her seat and stormed out of the office. She couldn’t listen to this. She returned to Logan’s room and started packing her things into her bag. If they weren’t putting her on the field, she’d find a way to fight anyway. She’s a spy, she can figure it out. Logan rushed into the room, chest heaving. “Hey what- don’t go”
“I have to, I need to face her. You need to stop looking at me like I’m fucking broken. I’m not” she said, pushing past Logan and walking down the hallway. He followed.
“Let me fight with you”
“No, you’ll get in the way”
“I thought we were together, partners and stuff. What’s bothering you, bothers me too” She stopped walking and turned to look at Logan. She felt she was about to cry, but she didn’t want to be seen as weak. She walked up to him, putting a hand on his cheek. He looked at her, full of sorrow.
“I’m sorry Lo, I need to do this alone”
—
Heartbreak had never felt like this before. It had been a few days on the road, and Y/N was tired. She hated how things ended with Logan, but she couldn’t risk him getting in the way. She decided the best place to start was at the warehouse in Madripoor. Yelena was helpful and sent her all the files she needed to start looking for Evie. She made some progress, finding more locations of outposts near Belarus, and Moscow. She was reading through these files in an office when she heard some voices. Someone was coming. She had scouted the area for a few days to make sure no one would come around, so she wasn’t prepared for visitors.
“Yeah, nah Oakley said that we needed to clear out this place, there’s too much evidence,” one voice said, getting closer to Y/N. She looked around the room, looking for somewhere to hide. She quickly locked the door to give her time to break into an air vent on the wall. Using a knife, she got the grate off and wiggled inside. It was a tight squeeze, but she’s been in tighter places before. Using a torch attached to her backpack, she made her way through the air vent. “Hey someone's been in here!” the voice echoed through the vent. Y/N was on top of another grate that entered a new room. She swung the grate open and jumped down into the room. Her heart stopped. It was a sterile surgical room, similar to the one from her dreams. The fluorescent lights flickered, and there were X-rays on the wall. Y/N looked at them. These kids had very different and unique mutations. One x-ray showed a hand with webbing between the fingers. Another showed a spine with bone spikes along the vertebrae. There were test tubes on a desk, all marked with different numbers. Y/N pulled her phone out of her pocket and took photos of everything. She sent the photos through to Yelena.
There was a computer on the desk. Y/N turned it on, but there was a password. She got out a USB drive, old S.H.E.I.L.D tech designed to hack into anything, and plugged it into the computer. It instantly started decrypting the passcode, logging her in. She looked through the computer, copying everything she found to another hard drive that she stole from Tony. Surely he wouldn’t notice. Once she was done, she started looking around the room, opening drawers to find more files, this time on the X-Men. She went to pick up a file when she heard someone walking towards her. She put them straight into her backpack before climbing back into the air vent. She got there just in time. A man holding a gun walked into the room and looked around before leaving.
“Clear!” he called. Y/N breathed a sigh of relief before crawling through the air vent. She found another grate opening up to the outside. She kicked the grate off and stuck her head out to check for anyone coming, gun in hand just in case. There was no one. Y/N jumped down, being sure to bend her knees as she landed. She crawled under the fence that surrounded the place and fled into the tree line. She walked until she reached the city of Madripoor. Going to Lowtown, she made her way to the motel she’d been staying at. She entered her room, chucking her backpack on the bed and going straight to the bathroom. She turned on the shower and took off her tactical gear. Her legs were red, swollen and oozing pus. She winced as she gently washed her legs under the cold water.
Freshly showered and dressed, Y/N was ready to read the files she’d found today. She sat on the bed and opened her backpack, pulling everything out and setting it in front of her. There was a file on every X-Men, even people Y/N didn’t know. She picked up Logan’s one first, hesitantly looking through. There was a picture of him attached. It didn’t look like the soft man she’d grown to love, he looked dark and angry. His hair was long and his beard was scruffy. He had some sort of tech attached to his head. Y/N shuddered. She read through the file, learning about “Weapon X” and all the experiments they did on Logan. He’d never mentioned any of this. Her stomach sank. This whole time, Logan had known exactly what it was like to be used and abused and never said anything. Her phone chimed, bringing her back to reality. It was Yelena.
Logan asked about you again today. I’m super close to telling him where you are if you don’t message him. He’s like a sulking puppy.
Y/N texted back;
Evie had a file on every X-Men, past and present. I’m worried for their safety. This is becoming bigger than we think.
She decided to bite the bullet and call Logan. It didn’t ring for long.
“Y/N? Are you okay? Where are you?”
“Hey Lo, I’m okay. Look, I was at that warehouse outside Madripoor and I found a load of files on all the X-Men… I think you guys are gonna be targeted next” She spoke softly, hoping he wouldn’t freak out.
“What? What do you mean? I’m coming to Madripoor”
“What, no Logan. You can’t,” She flicked through the files, landing on a photo of the school. Her heart stopped. “They have your location. I think they’re coming-” She was cut off by the sound of screaming on the other end of the phone. “Logan!?”
“Hold on, sugar” She couldn’t hear much, just the sound of running footsteps. There was a scream and then silence. She looked at her phone. Did he hang up? Panic rose inside her. Had they just attacked the school? And what was all the screaming? Y/N got up and packed her bags. She had to leave, find Logan and figure out what was going on.
April Fools - Kate Bishop
Pairings: Kate Bishop x Fem! reader.
Warnings: Fluff, romantic comedy, cuteness overload because I miss Kate, reader is Spider-Girl.
Word count: 1765.
Tumblr media
Kate looks up from her place on the couch to see Y/n in the kitchen with Yelena teaching the blonde how to make her favorite dessert, Brazilian brigadeiro, after they made the whole dinner by themselves. Both were entertained as Y/n made little balls of chocolate and rolled on the sprinkles, completely unaware that Kate is observing Y/n’s every move.
“You look like a stalker,” Clint said next to her, making her, reluctantly, look at him with a questioning look. “Have you ever realized how much you stare Y/n? Every time move she makes is caught because you look at her like a motion detection camera.”
Kate opens her mouth to say something, but it closes quickly. There is nothing she can tell Clint to get out of this position, he caught her, and both know it. The raise of his eyebrow is enough evidence.
“Don’t you think it would be easier if you just talked to her?” He continues to question.
“She is my best friend, Clint.” Kate sighs, looking over her shoulder and seeing Y/n hand Yelena one small chocolate ball, the blonde caught it looking for a few seconds as if inspecting. “I don’t want to ruin our friendship, it’s better if we stay like this.”
“I think that’s stupid.” He bluntly says, shaking his head and sighing. “And you’ll just keep looking at her like a puppy waiting for an owner?”
“Yes.” She said without thinking much, before turning to him quickly. “Wait, that’s rude!”
“It’s the truth.”
“Oh, this is good!” Yelena says in the kitchen, and Kate looks back at them. Yelena has her eyes wide, one hand holding Y/n’s forearm and the other throwing the rest of the chocolate in her mouth. “This is very very good.”
“Right? Now you understand why it’s my favorite.” Y/n replies with a cute small laugh that makes Kate look at her yearning. “Now c’mon, help me make the rest.”
“She will find out, you’re very bad at hiding.” Clint was vocal again, but this time he was getting up, about to stop the commotion in the kitchen due to Yelena making another brigadeiro just to throw in her mouth. “Hey, get out of there, Yelena.”
“Shut up, these are made to be eaten.” Yelena narrows her eyes at him, challenging him.
“Go sit with Kate, Yelena, I will make some extra for you.” Y/n sighs as she points to the living room. “But only if you sit there and don’t steal more brigadeiros.”
“Fine.” She fake complains and gives Clint a hard stare as if saying ‘don’t you dare eat my damn chocolate’.
“Can you make little balls for me, Clint? I’ll make more for Yelena before she kills someone because of chocolate.” Y/n asks before showing Clint what needs to be done.
“Smart girl, I would not hesitate,” Yelena replies as she sits on the couch where the older archer had been before. “You were staring like a creep, Kate Bishop.”
Kate almost chokes on her saliva as she hears it. Not only her mentor, and best friend, had noticed, but now Yelena had noticed too. And maybe Clint was right, it wouldn’t be long until Y/n realizes as well.
Okay, she was a bit slower at noticing romantic advances and Kate would often give really good excuses for her staring, but she wasn’t stupid.
“Is it that obvious?” Kate asks and Yelena nods with a funny face.
“Maybe not to her yet, but she is a superhero. Quick thinking and all of that.”
“Goddamn it!” Kate complains putting her hands on her face with a sigh. “I’m doomed, Yelena.”
“Tomorrow is that day,” Yelena says, trying to remember. “April Fools, use that!”
Kate looks at Yelena clearly confused.
“Do I have to do everything? A prank, that is not a prank.” She rolls her eyes at Kate. “Jesus, Kate Bishop, love made you slow.”
“I’m both offended and grateful.” Kate said as she shook her head.
As the archer leaned her back into the sofa thinking about what she would do tomorrow. Yelena was right, she could use this opportunity to put up to test the strong chemistry between them, but Y/n didn’t make it much clear if she actually felt something romantic for Kate or just as a friend.
△
Yelena had left Kate’s apartment late at night, Clint went to sleep on Kate’s bed while Kate and Y/n had left early to go to her apartment. Y/n had inconveniently forgotten her Spider-Girl suit charging and the other one was still drying from when she accidentally fell at the lake. But it allowed Clint to have a better night’s rest with Lucky and no unstoppable laughs coming from the girls.
Kate woke up in the morning confused as to why Y/n was screaming her name in desperation, she sat up trying to open her eyes and focus on her distressed best friend.
“I’m up, what’s going on?” Kate asked shoving the covers to the side and getting up, almost falling in the process, vision still blurred.
“I lost my powers!” Y/n said and to make her point she tried to shoot a web and miserably failed.
“What?!”
“Exactly!” Y/n ran her hands through her hair, which was very disheveled. “I have no idea why this is happening, oh my god.”
Kate is still trying to process as she gets close and puts a hand on Y/n’s shoulder. “Is there something stressing you up? We will get to the bottom of this!”
“I mean, yes… My ex texted me saying they want us to get back.” Y/n sighed as she revealed.
“That little shit-“ Kate breathes in angrily. “I have excellent aim Y/n; I will shoot them!”
“Kate, there’s no-“ Y/n interrupts herself and scrunches her nose up, her mouth opening as she is clearly about to sneeze. “A-a-atchoo!”
Y/n sneezes and Kate’s face is suddenly full of webbing. Her best friend laughs out loud, helping to take out all the webbing covering her eyes, nose and mouth.
“Oops, I think it was webbing constipation.” Y/n defends herself poorly. “April fools!”
“Oh, you-!” Kate says as both manage to take the web out of her face, and she goes to the bathroom to take out the rest and brush her teeth, ignoring how Y/n’s cute smile released the whole zoo inside her stomach.
“Sorry, I couldn’t resist!” Y/n defends herself, leaning on the door. “You always do something, so I wanted to get you first!”
Kate silently brushes her teeth taking the rest of the web and Y/n helps clean her hair. Kate finishes brushing her teeth and suddenly pulls the other close, pressing the spiderling against the sink, one hand on each side of the woman. Y/n’s demeanor changes immediately, eyes widening, breath hitching, cheeks burning crimson and making it very visible to the archer her frustration.
“You shouldn’t play with me like that, Y/n.” Kate says slowly, and Y/n visibly gulps looking deep into her dark blue eyes.
Kate’s fall comes quickly after that, Y/n forcefully changes their places and now the archer was the one being pressed against the sink, eyes wide in surprise at the overconfident way her best friend had done that.
“You accepted that the day you turned into my best friend, Bishop, you were very aware and if anything you think I'm funny as hell.”
Kate gulped, before blurting out. “I like you.” Y/n rolled her eyes as the other one added. “Romantically.”
“Haha, Kate, I already know it’s April Fools.” The spiderling answers, shaking her head. “C’mon I thought you could be more original.”
“I am being original; this is reverse April Fools.” Kate defended herself. “I’m telling the truth instead.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Y/n still didn’t believe her as she pulled away.
Kate then put both hands on the sides of Y/n’s face and pulled her in for a long peck. She felt Y/n get rigid, then sigh slightly as she relaxed, however as if a sudden bucket of cold water was thrown in her head, she gently pushed Kate back.
“Katherine!” She said with wide eyes and crimson cheeks.
“I am being serious now; I didn’t know how to tell you and Yelena suggested doing a prank that was real.” The archer started to talk, looking away a bit embarrassed. “I was planning on a more elaborate prank to see if you felt something for me too, but… I kind of lost my cool.”
“I…“ Y/n was speechless, finally downing on her what was happening.
“I am in love with you, reverse April fools!” Kate sings shaking her hands a bit as silence fills the room.
The other woman suddenly scoffs, shaking her head as she clearly cannot believe her ears. But it’s Kate that is shocked when she speaks again.
“It fucking took you long enough, Kate, seriously. Yelena had to suggest that? Jeez.” Y/n rolls her eyes as she gets closer and kisses Kate’s cheek. “I’m also in love with you, idiot.”
“I swear to god if you’re playing me right now-“ Kate narrows her eyes, getting distrustful.
“I will kiss you to prove it.” Y/n shrugged.
“A real one, no bromancing!” The archer raises an eyebrow, defying Y/n to do that. “Bromance without the bro.”
“…Mance?” Y/n asks in confusion.
“I meant romance actually.” Kate corrects herself, sheepishly.
“I think you should stop talking.” Y/n laughs as she shakes her head.
“I am trying to, but you’re taking too long to kiss me!” The other one defends herself yet again.
Y/n makes the last step and kisses Kate, first a long peck, but then both deepened the kiss putting all their bottled-up feelings into it. When they separated, breathing hard, both laughed.
“Okay, this really isn’t a prank.” Kate said, breathless as she looked lovingly into Y/n’s eyes.
“I’m not sure yet, I think you need to keep kissing me to try and convince me.” Y/n says, clearly not meaning it, but making more excuses to kiss Kate.
“Oh, how dreadful.” Kate replies, smiling. "Normally I'd say you need to put more trust in me but... I don't know, we need to really make sure this isn't a prank."
She had to remember to thank Yelena later, maybe pamper the shit out of her with some brigadeiros and spicy food as a thank you. She would definitely be happy with that.
In the meanwhile, Kate would take her time kissing her best friend, current lover, and future girlfriend. They obviously needed to make sure it wasn’t a prank (an excuse they would use even in the future).
Haunted (Yelena Belova x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Haunted by memories of a past love, you struggle to move forward with someone new, torn between the warmth of the present and the echoes of a love you can’t forget.
Word count: 1.7k
Requested: No
Warnings: emotional themes, mental struggle, alcohol mention
A/N: Loved writing something about Yelena! Also, please check my series ‘Forsaken - The Fallen Soldier’. Feedback is always appreciated, don’t be shy to share your thoughts on this :)
You sat at the kitchen table, your fingers loosely wrapped around the stem of a wine glass as your new girlfriend laughed at something she’d said. The sound was sweet, and she was kind. You could feel the warmth from across the table, the way her smile lit up the room, the way her eyes softened every time they landed on you.
And yet, every time you looked at her, a familiar shadow would sweep across your heart. The shadow of a face you had tried so hard to forget.
Yelena.
She’d been the sun to your universe, radiant and fierce. But being in love with her had been a storm – a beautiful, chaotic whirlwind that left you breathless and wanting more, until one day it stopped. The storm was over, and Yelena was gone.
Now, you were trying to move on.
Your new girlfriend’s hand reached out, brushing your fingertips softly. “Hey, you’re quiet tonight. Everything okay?”
You blinked, snapping back to the present. Her concern was genuine, and it made your chest tighten with guilt. She was trying so hard to build something with you, something stable, something good. But no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t escape the memories that clung to the corners of your mind.
“I’m fine,” you answered, forcing a smile. “Just tired.”
She smiled back, though there was a flicker of doubt in her eyes. “We don’t have to stay up late. We can go to bed if you want.”
You shook your head. “No, let’s just… stay like this for a while.”
She leaned back in her chair, still watching you, still waiting for you to let her in. But your thoughts weren’t with her anymore. They were in a dimly lit apartment in New York City, where the curtains were drawn, and the sound of the outside world had been nothing but background noise to Yelena’s laughter.
----------------------------------
You’d met Yelena on a mission, back when life was filled with danger and adrenaline. She’d been every bit the deadly assassin you’d heard about, but behind the sharp edges and cold exterior, there had been something so disarmingly human about her. The way she cared about people, the way she’d pretend not to when you teased her about it. The way her lips would curl into a smirk before she made a sarcastic comment, and the way she looked at you – like you were her entire world.
But love with Yelena had never been easy. It had been intense, passionate, but it had also been fragile. She was always haunted by her past, by the things she’d done, and even though she loved you, there was always a part of her that she couldn’t share. The things she couldn’t say, the pain she couldn’t release.
Eventually, it had been too much. The silence between you had grown lounder, and the distance too far to close. She’d left one morning, no goodbye, no explanation. Just gone.
And now, you were left to pick up the pieces of your own heart, trying to move on with someone who deserved so much more than the ghost of your past lingering in your mind.
----------------------------------
“You look like you’re a thousand miles away,” your girlfriend said, pulling you back to the present once more.
“I’m sorry,” you whispered, setting the wine glass down. “I’m just… I think I need some air.”
She nodded, her eyes searching yours for a moment before she spoke again. “Do you want me to come with you?”
“No,” you said quickly, too quickly. “No, it’s fine. I’ll be back in a bit.”
She smiled, but it was tight, and you could see the uncertainty in her face. You hated that you were doing this to her, but you couldn’t stop it. Every time you tried to focus on her, to give her the attention she deserved, Yelena’s face would flash in your mind. The sound of her voice, the way she had kissed you – desperately, like she was afraid you would slip away.
You slipped on your jacket and stepped outside, the cool night air biting at your skin. The stars above twinkled faintly, barely visible through the haze of city lights. You wandered down the street, your mind replaying the past like a broken record.
Yelena. Always Yelena.
----------------------------------
It had been months since you’d last seen her, but you still remembered every detail. The way her blonde hair fell in loose waves around her shoulders, the way her green eyes pierced through you, seeing all the things you tried to hide. The way she smiled, only for you.
The first time she kissed you, it had been reckless, almost like a challenge. You were both injured, bruised from a mission gone wrong, adrenaline still coursing through your veins. She had grabbed your face, her lips crashing against yours with a hunger that made you dizzy.
From that moment on, you were hers. Completely.
But the love between you had been fragile, like trying to hold water in your hands. Every time you thought you had a grasp on it, it would slip through              your fingers, leaving you with nothing but the memory of what had been.
And now, here you were, trying to build something new with someone else. Trying to pretend that the pieces of your heart weren’t still broken, that you weren’t still aching for a love that had left you shattered.
----------------------------------
You walked aimlessly, your footsteps echoing in the quiet streets. The night felt heavy, the silence pressing down on you as the memories flooded your mind.
It wasn’t fair to your girlfriend. She was good, and she was kind. She was everything you should have wanted, everything you tried to want. But every time you looked at her, you couldn’t stop yourself from comparing. The way her hand felt in yours, the way she kissed you, the way she held you. It was always a little different, always a little less than what you remembered.
You rounded a corner and found yourself in front of a familiar building. It was Yelena’s old apartment, the place where you had spent so many nights tangled in each other’s arms, lost in a world that belonged only to the two of you. The lights were off, the windows dark, but you couldn’t help the ache that settled in your chest at the sight of it.
----------------------------------
You hadn’t planned to see her again. You thought you could move one, that the pain would face with time. But the truth was, no matter how much time passed, no matter how many times you told yourself you were over her, Yelena was still there, lingering in the corners of your mind.
Your phone buzzed in your pocket, and you pulled it out to see a text from your girlfriend.
Are you okay?
You stared at the message for a long moment, your fingers hovering over the keyboard. You wanted to tell her that you were fine, that everything was okay. But the words felt hollow. She deserved more than this – more than the broken pieces of your heart that still belonged to someone else.
Instead of replying, you slipped the phone back into your pocket and leaned against the cold brick of the building. You closed your eyes, the memories washing over you in waves.
----------------------------------
You remembered the last time you saw Yelena. It had been a cold morning, the kind where the air stung your skin, and your breath hung in front of you like smoke. She had been quiet that day, more than usual. You’d tried to reach her, to get her to talk, but she had just shaken her head, her eyes distant.
When you woke up the next morning, she was gone. No note, no explanation. Just… gone.
You hadn’t heard from her since. Not a word.
----------------------------------
You didn’t know how long you stood there, lost in the memories, before the sound of footsteps approaching pulled you back to the present. You looked up, expecting to see a stranger passing by, but instead, your heart stopped.
Yelena stood in front of you, her green eyes locked on yours.
Neither of you spoke for a moment, the silence thick between you. She looked the same, yet different. There was something in her eyes that hadn’t been there before, something softer, more vulnerable.
“Yelena,” you whispered, your voice barely audible.
She didn’t say anything at first, just stared at you, as if she was trying to decide if you were real or just a figment of her imagination. Finally, she spoke.
“I didn’t think I’d see you here.”
You swallowed, the lump in your throat making it hard to breathe. “I didn’t think I’d see you either.”
For a long moment, neither of you spoke. The weight of everything unsaid hung between you, thick and suffocating. Finally, Yelena took a step closer, her eyes never leaving yours.
“I’m sorry,” she said quietly, her voice breaking just a little.
Your heart ached at the sound of it, at the way her voice trembled. You wanted to be angry, wanted to scream at her for leaving you, for breaking your heart. But all you could feel was the overwhelming pull of her presence, the way she made everything else fade away.
“I tried to move on,” you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. “But I can’t.”
Yelena’s eyes softened, and she took another step closer, until she was standing right in front of you. Her hand reached up, gently brushing a strand of hair behind your ear.
“I know,” she whispered. “Neither can I.”
For the first time in months, you let yourself feel the full weight of the love you still had for her. The love that had never really left, no matter how hard you’d tried to bury it. You leaned into her touch, your heart pounding in your chest.
“I’m so, so sorry,” she whispered again, her voice breaking. “I never should have left.”
You didn’t say anything, because words didn’t seem enough. Instead, you closed the distance between you, pressing your lips to hers in a kiss that was filled with all the things you couldn’t say.
And in that moment, with Yelena’s arms wrapped around you, you realized that no matter how hard you tried to move on, no one else would ever compare to her.
Because no matter where you went, no matter who you were with, all you ever saw was a glimpse of her.
Authors notes: Happy beginning of kinktober! Here we go everyone! Keep your arms and legs in the tumblr blog at all times and remember have fun~
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s a scorching summer day, and the heat has been pressing down on you like a heavy blanket, making you more irritable than usual. The air conditioning in your apartment is working overtime, but it does little to alleviate the sticky warmth clinging to your skin. You’ve been bratting out all morning—pouting, teasing, and being extra defiant toward Yelena, knowing it’s only a matter of time before she decides to put you in your place.
Yelena watches you from the kitchen, her sharp green eyes tracking your every movement as you sass her for the umpteenth time today. But instead of the stern look or the quick reprimand you’re expecting, a mischievous grin spreads across her face. You narrow your eyes at her, suspicious of the sudden change in demeanor.
“Что-то ты слишком игривая сегодня, крошка,”(You're a little too playful today, baby.) she murmurs in that smooth, accented voice that never fails to send shivers down your spine, even on a day as hot as this one.
You cross your arms over your chest, trying to keep up your bratty front, but there’s a flicker of curiosity in your eyes. “Maybe I’m just tired of being so hot, Daddy.”
Yelena chuckles softly, her grin widening as she walks over to the freezer, pulling it open. Your eyes follow her movements as she grabs the ice tray from the top shelf, popping a few cubes into her hand. The coldness of the ice catches the light, and a realization dawns on you, your eyes widening as you watch her approach.
“Yelena…” you start, but she’s already beside you, her free hand grabbing your wrist gently but firmly, guiding you to sit on the edge of the kitchen counter.
“Shh, малышка(baby). Let Daddy cool you down.”
Before you can protest, Yelena presses an ice cube against the side of your neck. The sudden coldness shocks your system, drawing a gasp from your lips as you instinctively jerk away. But Yelena’s strong hand is on your thigh now, holding you in place with a soft but unyielding grip.
“Stay still,” she orders, her voice low, but there’s a playful glint in her eyes.
You whimper, torn between the conflicting sensations of hot and cold, your skin prickling as she drags the ice cube down the length of your neck, trailing it over your collarbone. Your breath hitches, and you feel your brattiness melting away under her touch, replaced by a different kind of tension.
“Such a bratty little thing today,” Yelena murmurs as she continues her icy path, her voice laced with affection. “But I know what you need.”
She shifts the ice cube down to the dip of your cleavage, letting it slide lower, the freezing touch making you arch your back slightly. The whimper that escapes your lips is half protest, half plea, and it’s exactly what Yelena wanted to hear.
“See? Isn’t this better?” she teases, her fingers brushing against your heated skin as she pulls the now-smaller ice cube away, replacing it with a fresh one. “Maybe next time, you’ll behave, hm?”
You bite your lip, trying to suppress a moan as Yelena’s cool ministrations continue. The contrast between her warm hands and the icy touch is driving you mad, but in the best way possible. You can’t help but squirm under her gaze, feeling your defiance crumble completely.
Yelena leans in close, her breath warm against your ear as she whispers, “Or maybe you’ll keep being a brat just so Daddy can do this again.”
Yelena chuckles, her lips brushing against your temple as she places one final ice cube at the base of your throat. “Good girl,” she murmurs, her voice a soothing balm against the heat.
As the last of the ice melts away, Yelena’s hands find their way to your waist, pulling you close, her touch grounding you after the playful punishment. “Feeling better now, малышка?”
You nod, nuzzling into her neck, feeling the lingering coolness on your skin where the ice had been. “Yes, Daddy. Thank you.”
Yelena smiles, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “Anytime, sweetheart. Now, let’s get you something cold to drink. You’ve earned it.”
Black Widow Curse
Tumblr media
Summary: The last thing Yelena expected was to see someone at her sister's grave and got them caught in her web.
Warning: MINIORS DO NOT INTERACT. 18+, mention of Natasha's death, fighting, mention of past abuse, injuries, dubious consent (Yelena is drunk), sex (not in a lot of detail), angst, unhappy ending, toxic relationship, everyone is hurt and no one is okay
Word Count: 3.5k
When Yelena stepped out of her truck, she wasn’t expecting to see someone at her sister’s headstone. She was positive that no one knew where it was. With her hand on her gun, she approached the mysterious figure. Maybe they weren’t a threat, but after the past few failed assignments, she wasn’t sure who was a friend or an enemy. Suddenly, a blur of white and brown fur ran to the stranger. Her dog traitor began to lick your face, and your laughter began filling the quiet area. “You know,” you said. “I believe dogs can sense someone with good intentions,” you turned around to face her, but your hand still ran through Fanny’s fur. “So I’d appreciate it if you took your hand off your gun.”
Yelena kept it there and took in your features. You were younger than her, but not by much. Your clothes were baggy, slipping off your frame. Yelena could see tattoos that covered your arms. They seemed random, black swirls that decorated your skin. “Who are you?”
“I think I should be asking you that,” you dropped your hand. Fanny whined but walked back to her owner. “Wait,” your eyes narrowed at her, and you stood up from Natasha’s grave. “Your Yelena, Nat’s sister.” Knowing her name did not help your case, in the Blonde’s opinion. She took a step back.
“Who are you? I won’t ask again.” It took you a moment to respond, stunned by her sudden appearance.
“I was an Avenger with your sister,” you said. “We were friends.” Yelena hated that word. Avenger. It held much power and acted as a shield to hide behind and not face the past. Once again, she was face to face with someone who had more time with her sister. “Look, I heard about what happened with Clint,” you took another step forward. This time, Yelena removed her gun and pointed it at you. “Are you going to shoot me?” Yelena shrugged. “Why?”
Yelena wasn’t sure if she could give you a good answer, but did she need one? She was trained to kill and accept orders without a second thought. “Feels right,” she undid the safety. “I have nothing better to do.” You dared to laugh. That pissed her off. It seemed every day, the only emotion she felt was anger.
“You can’t kill me,” you simply said.
“Is that a challenge?” You smiled.
“Merely stating a fact,” you turned to face Natasha’s grave, kissed your fingers, and placed it on the stone. “It was nice to meet you, Yelena. I hope we meet again as friends.”
It happened rather suddenly. Intense cold washed over her, and her vision darkened. It felt similar to when she was blipped. As quickly as it happened, her warmth returned, and her vision came back.
She was standing alone. Fanny ran over to the spot you were standing in. The Akita circled something on the ground before lying down next to it. Yelena put her gun away and walked over to it. On the ground was a ripped photo strip with a girl with blue hair and another one with Blonde hair.
*
You hated parties. Even when you were with the Avengers, you loathed everyone that Tony threw. Full of fake politicians who did not care about the people they represented. You hated the stuffy outfits. Now, you stood in a rented suit at another party, not as a guest. The guest of honor, Hunter Sykes, hired you as private security. It was easy money, and you had rent and groceries to pay for.
So when Mr. Sykes led a beautiful woman back to his hotel room, you followed through the shadows. It was how you saw Yelena first, dressed in a red cocktail dress. She watched what floor the elevator stopped at and took the stairs to the 5th floor. Before she could exit the staircase, you pushed her up against the wall and emerged from the shadows. “Well, we meet again,” Relaxation washed over the Blonde. Before you could ask what her plan was, she pushed you on the chest, and you stumbled backward. It startled you, blinked a few times, and chased after her. A deja vu moment washed over you. Instead of chasing Yelena down a hallway, you were running after Natasha in a warehouse. The elder Black Widow got the best of you. Yelena wasn’t, but you wanted to play fairly. You kept your powers at bay even when they danced on your fingers. With a burst of speed, you caught up with her and grabbed her wrist. You ducked at the punch, but she was able to kick at you. You jumped back. The space allowed her to grab a knife on her thigh.
You wished Natasha could see this, and you wondered who she thought would win. The two sisters shared similarities, which made sense given their similar training. However, there was a slight difference. Natasha found fluidity in how she fought, as if there wasn’t a weight on top of her. Yelena was stiff. She was fighting to win, and you felt it in the punch to the side of your head.
“You are good,” you said, shaking the stars out of your vision. The Blonde rolled her eyes. “What? Am I not getting a compliment?”
“You are annoying,” she deadpanned. You would take it. Even though she was Natasha’s sister, you had a job to do, and she wasn’t going near Mr. Sykes. The fighting continued. You managed to get the knife out of her hand and threw it in the wall. You landed a powerful kick to her chest, she stumbled backward and then hit the window behind her. The glass creaked. Yelena shook her head to regain her footing, but you refused to give her time to recover. You sprinted towards her and pushed on her chest. The impact sent you both out the weakened window. You grabbed the ledge and ignored Yelena’s shout as she fell.
The sudden commotion caused Mr. Sykes to exit his hotel room. You pulled yourself up, removed the glass from your hair, and approached him. You hoped Yelena was okay.
*
“Fucking hell,” you mumbled and pulled out a frozen bag of peas. You slumped down on the couch with your ice pack against your head. After you pushed Yelena out of the window, you got Mr. Sykes out of the hotel with his regular security detail. If Yelena tried to kill him again, it was out of your hands. He paid you. The job was done; now it was time to rest and recover. You were pretty sure Yelena could punch harder than Natasha. The memory of your friend still hurts even though it was coming on two years after her death.
Taking off the peas, you grabbed the only photo in your apartment. It was of you and Natasha a few months after she and Steve broke you out of the RAFT. You and the Black Widow were curled up on the couch in a random safe house in Europe while a James Bond movie was playing on the TV. That night, she told you all about Yelena and the mission in Ohio. Steve sent you the picture of your new burner phone when you left them.
You weren’t angry at Natasha. When half of the population was blipped away, you were part of it. You could have stopped her if you were there, but Clint was right. Natasha was stubborn. Once her mind was made up, no one would stop her. Still, it was unfair. The birds were still singing, and the leaves would change. You weren’t angry at her. She was the greatest thing you’ve lost.
“For an Avenger, it was very easy to break in here,” you laughed as Yelena climbed through your fire escape window and sat beside you. At least she had the decency to close the window behind her.
“Are you here to kill me?” She shook your head and took the frozen vegetable.
“I would have killed you before I entered the apartment,” Fair enough. She placed the peas on the back of her neck. “That fight was so long. Do you have food?” You chuckled and stood up, wincing at the slight pain in your joints.
“I was about to order Chinese. Do you want some?” Yelena nodded. You walked to your fridge and took the menu off the side. Before you walked back to her, you saw the Blonde pick up the photo frame. She looked it over and put it back down. “Figure out what you want,” you handed her the menu. “I’m going to shower.” She looked at you and blinked a few times.
“You are going to leave me alone in your home.” Home was a strong word to describe this place. It was a place to keep food, shower, and sleep. You shrugged.
“As you said, if you wanted to kill me, you would have,” Maybe it was a little stupid to put your blind trust in someone you just threw out a window. But she was Natasha’s little sister. She had to be hurting as much as you were.
*
When you returned to your living room, Yelena was still in the same spot, except for the pea bag you assumed was back in the freezer. “What do you want?” Your question went unanswered. You weren’t sure if she heard you. Picking up the menu, you gently tapped her with it. That snapped her out of whatever fog her mind had created. “What do you want?” You asked again as if nothing happened.
“Fried rice and orange chicken,” you nodded and walked to the kitchen to order the food. You knew better to ask a Black Widow if they were okay. They ended up lying. Once the food was ordered, you rejoined Yelena on the couch with a few beers.
“Food should be here in 15 minutes,” you noticed the Blonde looking at you this time. Your shorts and simple T-shirt did not hide your tattoos. But she took a bear and slumped back.
“Your taste of beet is shit,” you opened your bottle and took a sip. It was shit.
“It was cheap. As you can see, I’m not rolling in the cash,” you gestured toward your apartment.
“Is Mr. Sykes not paying you well?” She asked.
“I don’t work for him. He hired me for that event because I was in the area,” you watched her nod out of the corner of her eye. “Did you kill him?”
“I wasn’t there to kill him,” your eyebrows shut up to your hairline in surprise. The Blonde chuckled. “I was hired to get the DNA from the woman he wanted to fuck. Job completed minus being thrown out the widow. That was good form.”
“I was trained by the best,” her face darkened slightly, but she recovered.
“By my sister?” She questioned. You knew this conversation was coming up. Sighing, you crossed your legs.
“Natasha was good, but I was trained before we met,” you smiled softly. This part of the story wasn’t bad. “I tried to kill her. I got a few hits in, but she threw me on my ass,” you managed to catch Yelena’s smile and let out a chuckle. You counted that as a small victory.
“Who trained you?” She asked. The doorbell rang, interrupting your story. You stood up, paid the delivery boy, and grabbed extra plates before you returned to the couch. You took your food and handed the bag to Yelena.
“I called him the Doctor,” you took a bite of your food. “Not sure what the endgame was before the Avengers killed him.”
“Where you born with-?” She gestured to the tattoos on your arms.
“Yup,” you popped the ‘p’. “It started with one on my shoulder, then grew and grew. I hated them at first, but they made me very popular with the ladies,” you wiggled your eyebrows at her. Again, she chuckled and smiled. It was a little louder than before—another victory. “Yelena,” you looked at her. “Why are you here?” She sighed.
“I had nowhere else to go.”
*
You weren’t sure how to describe this newly founded partnership between you and Yelena. She would end up at your apartment when she had nowhere else to go. Even if you weren’t there to greet her, you could come back to new food in your fridge and a freshly stocked first aid kit. When you managed to catch the Black Widow sneaking through your window, you would order takeout and watch whatever movie was on. She would never tell you that caused the gunshot wounds or bruises that you helped clean. The same was true for you. Yelena would grab the first aid kit and sit you down to clean your wounds.
There was an intimacy about it. An unspoken trust between you and her. Her hands were soft and warm against your skin as she patched a cut on your rib. Sometimes, you felt her fingers wander and trace the nearby tattoos. Similarly, you found yourself tracing faded scars. Goosebumps would form on her skin, and you would hear the slight hitch of her breath. You both would never call each other out. That was it. Slight touches, longing looks, two people lonely and desperate for something good. Nothing was acted on it. You could feel the tension every time she was in the room, but you were too afraid to scare her away.
*
It was strange to see the Blonde by your apartment door. Sometimes, you wondered if she knew you had a front door. “Did you forget how to climb through my window?” you teased, but your small jab was met with silence. That should have been your first clue that something was wrong. Sometimes, Yelena was quiet, but she always joked around with you.
You opened the door and held it open for her. She was quick to walk in, and when you closed the door, she leaned against the wood. Maybe if you weren’t exhausted and your mind wasn’t desperately calling for sleep, maybe if you recognized the month, it would have explained her behavior, but you missed all of it.
This was the first time you saw Yelena in about a month. You were busy with contracted work. You even answered the call when Sam asked for help. Then Carol. Then Strange. October blended into November, and now it was December. Again, it should have been a clue when she suddenly grabbed you by your shirt, pushed you against the door, and kissed you. The sound of your bag hitting the ground did not pull you apart. But the logical part of your brain needed to know what was going on. You placed your hands on her hips and flipped positions. “What,” you cleared your throat. “What are you doing?”
“Kissing you,” she said. “Do you not want me to?” God, you wanted her to keep going. For many nights, that thought of her lips on yours kept you up at night with an ache between your legs, but you needed her to say it.
“Do you want me to kiss you?” You asked. She nodded and moved her hands behind your neck.
“Please,” she pleaded. “I need you to make me feel good.” All of your life, you were strong. You survived this power that was given to you and lived through the abuse at the hands of your parents. Won over the Doctor and climbed through his ranks. Then joined the Avengers. But when it came to Black Widows, you were weak to them. You folded. You crumpled. You dropped to your knees and submitted to them. So you kissed her, ignoring the taste of alcohol on her lips and the bloodshot look in her green eyes. You ignored all of it to satisfy a loneliness deep inside you.
You moved your hands under her thighs and lifted her. Her ankles locked behind your back. Your lips stayed together as you moved to your bedroom and gently laid her down.
You made good on your promise. Each moan, gasp, and whine that left her lips filled a hunger deep inside you. You were on wire with your hand between her legs and lips on her skin, whispering praise after praise.
“So fucking beautiful,” you mumbled. Her nails dug into your skin, leaving half-moon indents that you would look at later to remind yourself that this happened. You were the one that brought her over to the edge over and over again. She was crying out your name. Your tongue was tasting how sweet she was. You were addicted to her body, memorizing every spot that made her tick.
You only stopped when Yelena pushed you away. Her green eyes were hidden behind her eyelids. A thin layer of sweat covered her body, and she was warm when she cuddled against you. You basked in the warmth because when you woke up in the morning, she was gone. The bed was cold.
A week passed when she appeared at your apartment again. Yelena pushed you down on the couch and got between your legs. She made you cum with your hand twisted in her blonde hair. This time, the Black Widow disappeared for five days. She climbed through your window, and you pushed her against the wall so hard you thought you had left an indent there. She stayed for two days, and you cursed every surface of your apartment.
As she lay on your chest, basking in the afterglow, you wanted more. You wanted more than sex. Sometimes, you thought about dates you would take her on. What would she wear to a dinner and a movie? Or maybe you could splurge on a Broadway show. Whenever you asked, she wouldn’t answer. Instead, she would kiss you deeply, climb onto your lap, and make you forget what you requested.
She wrapped you around her finger, pushing you away and then bringing you close. It was an emotional roller coaster. Inspired by Yelena, you disappeared. You bounced between jobs and couches for two months to put distance between you and the Blonde.
But you found yourself at Natasha’s grave. While you cleaned up the weeds and straightened up the gifts that people left, it felt unfair how this place was where you found peace. You found solace in the presence of another Black Widow while you escaped the other. “I miss you, Nat,” you sighed. “I wish you were here.”
You weren’t surprised that she found you. You heard Fanny run up behind you and wiggle her way onto your lap. Smiling, you ran your fingers through her fun. “You have not been home,” Yelena said. You smiled sadly at her as she sat down next to you.
“Hasn’t felt like home for a while,” you answered. It felt suffocating. Everything in your apartment reminded you of Yelena and her absence. It drove you mad.
“Because of me?” Your silence was enough of an answer for her. “I am sorry.”
That was the thing about Black Widows. For every aspect of their life, they were forced to be used, forced to kill, and forced to seduce. Black Widows were used to being used, so it made sense it was all they knew.
Natasha was the same way. From the moment you joined the team, she poured herself into you, every deep-seated trauma to the blood in her ledger. Every time she wanted to give up, you were there. You were the life persever when the waves forced her down and threatened to to drown her. But she was never there when you needed saving or someone to hold your head above the water. She closed the door on you. Then she would come back around, apologize, and swear it would never happen again. That if you needed her, she would be there. She never was. It was a cycle that you couldn’t escape from. Now, another Black Widow had you trapped.
“I am sorry,” she said again and grabbed her hand. “I will do better. Be better,” she promised. “Please. I miss you.”
Yelena was different from her sister. You never crossed that line with Natasha, giving her access to your mind, body, and soul. But you were weak, and you missed her too. You loved someone unable to return your feelings. “I missed you too,” you admitted. I’ll come home.” She smiled, and you fell in love with her more.
You wondered what you did in your past life to be trapped in the web of two different Black Widows. Yelena kissed your cheek, then softly kissed your lips. You missed the taste of her—her natural taste mixed with her strawberry lip balm. That was the alluring characteristic of Black Widows. They weaved their webs and waited until an unlucky intruder got trapped. Widows injected their victims with poison until they were unable to move. They feasted on the weak, and you were weak to them.
FALLING SLOWLY [pt.2]
******
[Part 1]
Pairing: Yelena Belova x fem!reader
Words: 2.1K
******
Tumblr media
It was late at night when Y/n got up and headed to the kitchen, thirsty for a glass of water. In the silence of the house, any sound coming from outside could be heard, and normally the house was completely silent, but that night soft whimpers were disturbing the midnight peace.
Y/n knew about the sisters’ nightmares, more than once, she had been woken up by screams or heavy footsteps in the early hours of the morning. She went first to Natasha’s, placing her ear next to the door, nothing coming from the inside of the room, so she headed to Yelena’s.
Soft whimpers were coming from the Russian’s room, and Y/n rushed inside, worried about her friend if she was having a nightmare. As soon as she entered the bedroom though, she regretted it. Yelena wasn’t having a nightmare, she was having a good time, if you could say so. Y/n stood frozen at the door, as the blonde was confused by the sound of the door opening, soon the emotion changed to being utterly embarrassed.
“What are you doing?” She whispered-shouted, covering her body with the bedsheets, a crimson colour tainting her cheeks.
“I… I don’t know! I heard whimpering, and I was worried you were having a nightmare” Y/n answered back, also deeply flustered.
“Well I’m not! I’m fine, you can leave now” With rushed and uncontrolled movements, Y/n left her bedroom, she closed the door behind her. That night her dreams were plagued with hot and steamy visions of her blonde roommate.
The next morning was as uncomfortable as the one, when the shower accident happened. Both girls were heavily avoiding each other, much to Natasha’s amusement. “Can you explain to me what is going on, again?”
“Nothing happened” Y/n fought her brain, trying to not let any memory or image place in her mind. She failed miserably, her cheeks returning to the common colour they had those last weeks.
“Y/n just doesn’t know how to knock on a door, that’s all” In contrary to Y/n’s shame, Yelena decided that it was a good idea to make her want to be 20 metres underground.
“I see, well in that case, you could lock the door if you are dealing with your dirty thoughts sestra” Y/n gave a high five to the red head, while Yelena glared at them.
*****
Y/n was watching a movie, when someone called her. She checked her phone, Yelena’s ID appearing on the screen. The blonde girl and her sister left a few hours ago to go out with some of their friends.
“Lena?”
“Y/n… We need, look at that cat!... Hi, Y/n” To say Y/n was confused was an understatement. Yelena was clearly drunk, her sentences not making any sense.
“Yelena? Are you alright? Is Natasha with you?”
“Natasha… She is sitting on the stairs of the club, but she is more drunk than I am, because I am not drunk… Anyway, could you come pick us up? I wasn’t supposed to drink, because I drove, but I did, and now I can’t drive… Hehe, no, that wouldn’t be smart.”
“Yelena, Yelena, hey, stop” Y/n was panicking to say the least. She didn’t know where the sisters were exactly, and that did not help. “You did good by not taking the car… Send me your location, I’ll be there asap”
After Yelena agreed with some drunk muttering, and she received the location, she ran to the car, and drove at the limits of what was safe. Fifteen minutes later, she had parked the car, and got to where both women were.
She let out a relieved breath, locking eyes with her blonde crush. Yelena’s eyes lighted up when she saw Y/n, throwing herself onto her. “Y/n! Hi! What are you doing here?”
“You… You called me, remember? About twenty minutes ago?” The blonde girl mumbled something in return, but Y/n decided to ignore it, and took Yelena to the car. "You wait here, I’ll go pick up Natasha, and we’ll go home".
The younger sister was right when she said that the red head was more hammered than her. Natasha was spread out on the stairs of the club, looking strangely comfortable sleeping there. She picked her up, and threw one of Nat’s arms around to her shoulders and practically dragged her to the car. Once they got home, Y/n helped the sisters to put their pyjamas on, and placed a glass of water and some pills and let them rest.
The next morning, Y/n was making herself breakfast, when she heard footsteps. From the corridor, a destroyed Yelena appeared, greeting Y/n with her raspy voice. “Good morning… Fuck, they say Russians can handle alcohol, but I think I might die from this hangover. My head is going to explode”
Y/n didn’t know why, but she found herself being angry at Yelena. “Well, that wouldn’t have happened, if you actually had been responsible”
“Excuse me?” The blonde, who was on her way to take a cup, stopped in her tracks to look at Y/n.
“You heard me… You knew you had to drive, why the fuck did you drink?” Y/n knew deep down she was being, perhaps, irrational, anyone could have a slip like that, but something about being specifically Yelena, made her angry,
“Whoa, I don’t know where this is coming from, but let’s calm down a bit”
“Don’t tell me to calm down. You had me worrying sick! Can you imagine if you hadn’t called me?” So that was it. Y/n realised, or accepted to herself, that the thought of something happening to Yelena made her worry at crazy levels.
“Except I did call you! Don’t need to be this dramatic!” Yelena truly couldn’t understand where this was coming from. Yes, she had had a slip, and knew she hadn’t been responsible, but, even that, Y/n was being unreasonable.
“Really? Dramatic? Sorry for caring and worrying about your wellbeing! Don’t worry, though, I won’t care any more, no need to call your dramatic roommate if you have a problem”
“Y/n… I did not mean…” The blonde suddenly felt bad for shouting at her friend. Thinking to herself, she would have reacted similarly if it had been the other way around, but the fight had already blown up a bit too much for such a small situation.
“Forget it… I just made me breakfast, you’ll need to cook yours, don’t call me if you burn something”.
Yelena watched as Y/n headed back to her room. Whispering Y/n’s name, she sighted and ran her hands through her face, guilty taking place in her gut.
*****
A scream woke Y/n up. Her phone clock marked 3 am. She jumped from her bed, and quickly went to check on her roommates. Natasha was still asleep, you would think that her being a spy would mean she was alert at all times, but not any more, apparently. Y/n then went to check on Yelena. However, having learned her lesson, she knocked and waited for some type of invite to enter.
The door opened, a sleepy Yelena on the other side. Her hair was completely messy, strands of it flying out what was supposed to be a bun. She was wearing a shirt three sizes bigger than her. What Y/n noticed, however, were her puffy eyes, green resulting against the reddish eyes from crying. She took Yelena by the hand, and brought her back to her bed, so they were sitting down facing each other.
“I dreamt you left for good after our fight… I’m really sorry for the other day” Y/n didn’t have to ask what had happened to her. Yelena directly telling her, her voice quiet and her head low. They hadn’t been on speaking terms since a week ago, they talked but the strictly necessary and with a weird tension between them.
“Yelena… Have you had more nightmares like this since then?” She felt guilty, she knew she had been a bit stubborn and that she probably should’ve apologised before, but she was also a bit too proud.
“A few… Please, tell me you won’t leave me” Y/n’s heart clenched at how little Yelena sounded or looked. She saw how the blonde played with her fingers, so she reached and held one of them, while she used the other one to take Yelena’s chin to make their eyes meet.
In the darkness of the room, only lit by a lamp on the side table of the bed, Y/n realised how much she liked the girl in front of her, and she almost confidently could say that Yelena looked at her the same way around. So there, in the quiet of the room, she took a deep breath and braved up.
“I promise you… Yelena, I, I won’t leave you because I like you, really, really like you. I think I have since you stepped into this flat”
“You do?” Yelena couldn’t help the smile that formed on her lips, hope illuminating those green and gorgeous eyes.
“How could I not? You are funny, kind, you care… And maybe the fact that you are also gorgeous and hot, helps a bit”
“I really like you too… I’m not sure how to deal with these feelings though, I have never had the opportunity to feel like this” Yelena’s eyes travelled around the other girl’s face, taking in every single detail of it. She only stopped to stare at Y/n’s lips, the tension building up.
“Then let me show you” Y/n, then, moved both of her hands to cup Yelena’s face, and stroked her thumbs on her cheeks, feeling her smooth skin under. She then approached her, pressing their lips together. They both sighted at the feeling, both their lips moulded perfectly against each other. It was a soft and simple kiss. Once breath was needed, they separated, keeping their foreheads connected.
“Y/n… Can we not tell Nat yet?”
“I’m pretty sure she’ll notice, but yeah, whatever you want”
“Can you stay?”
“Always”
*****
After confessing their feelings for each other, it seemed like Natasha didn’t want to leave the flat at all, so when the red head finally went out on a Saturday, the girlfriends took the opportunity to have a bit of fun.
They enjoyed themselves the whole afternoon, they had sushi for dinner on the sofa while watching a movie, or at least trying to. As soon as the food was finished, they were once again on top of each other.
Y/n was having too much fun kissing Yelena’s neck, while running her hands under her t-shirt, the blonde moaning when her hands found their way up to her boobs, that they didn’t hear nor notice when Natasha came in through the door.
“Oh. My. God!” The girls stopped at the sight of the red head covering her eyes. They sat up and separated themselves, tried to make their hair look composed, and straightened her clothes.
“Are you visible now?” Yelena muttered a shy “yes”, while trying to calm her heart down. “So, I might need some explaining here”
“I don’t think it’s needed, we were doing friendly activities or at least trying to, but you interrupted us” Yelena hit Y/n on the arm, while scolding her with her eyes.
“Nat, I’m sorry I… We didn’t tell you before, but I just wanted to be sure, not that I’m not sure about our relationship, I just don’t know” Yelena tried to explain it, taking Y/n's hand to find some support. Natasha approached and kneeled in front of her sister.
“I’m a bit disappointed for you not telling me, but I knew this was going to happen the second I saw Y/n drooling over you when you arrived”
“Hey! I wasn’t drooling” Y/n scoffed, falsely offended at the attack, but smiling knowing that the red head wasn’t mad at them.
“You were a bit shocked though, detka”
“That might be true… You’re just so hot, what can I do?” Y/n whispered, as she leaned to kiss Yelena, not caring about Natasha at this point.
“Mmm… you too”
“Ugh, this is how it will be from now on? Get a room, you two!” Natasha rushed away, grossness written on her face.
“Excuse us, you were the one supposed to be out until tomorrow”
“I’ll stay here, you can do whatever you want in your room… I’ll get earplugs”
The girlfriend stood up from the couch, Yelena kissed her sister on the cheek, and ran back to Y/n, who picked her up, and took them to her room. Once inside, Y/n threw Yelena on the bed and straddled her.
“Now, where were we?”
Yesterday you came back from a mission with the Avengers and were now standing outside of the compound, enjoying the good weather. In about an hour there will be a meeting about the mission that you all successfully completed. Your friend and crush Yelena Belova will also come here for the meeting, and you are looking forward to seeing her again.
“Hey, y/n.” You heard someone say behind you. You turned around and saw that it was Bryan, a shield agent you had worked with a few times. At first, he was very kind to you, but after a while he started flirting with you and didn’t want to leave you alone even though you said you weren’t interested in going on a date with him.
“Hey, Bryan.” You greeted him, trying to be friendly.
“You look really beautiful.” He suddenly said and you made a step away from him.
“You know there is this Stark party on Friday and I thought we could go there together as a date?”
“Oh, I actually have other plans.” You said.
“Come on, this will be fun. We can also have dinner before the party, and I can show you my apartment later.” He said with a smirk, and you started to feel uncomfortable.
“No, I already have a date.” You suddenly said without thinking it through.
“You have a date? Who? I thought you were single.” He asked, not believing what you just said.
“Well, no, I’m dating someone.” You paused for a moment as you noticed Yelena driving over with her motorcycle.
“I’m dating Yelena Belova…she’s my girlfriend.” You lied, surprised by your own answer.
“You’re dating Belova?” He asked and you nodded.
“Yeah, you can see it yourself on Friday.” You immediately regretted what you said because how can you ask Yelena to be your date?? You have to go there with Yelena, otherwise he wouldn’t believe you and probably won’t leave you alone.
“Okay, I’m curious.”
“I have to go.” You said and walked away. You went into the compound and searched for Yelena. You had to ask her as soon as possible. You quickly found her in the living room talking to Natasha.
“Hey, Yelena, can we talk?”
“Sure, what’s up?” She said with a smile.
“Can we talk in my room please?” You asked and Yelena looked at Natasha for a second and then went with you your room.
“Is everything okay?” Yelena asked nervously.
“You know that there is this Stark party on Friday, right?” You asked and Yelena nodded. Then you had to pause because you didn’t know what to say next or how to explain that you need her to pretend to be your girlfriend.
“I... I “ You started, but weren’t sure what to say.
“Hey, what’s wrong, you’re scaring me.”
“I need you to be my date on that party and pretend to be my girlfriend.” You quickly said and Yelena was confused.
“Could you please be my fake girlfriend?” You said and when Yelena didn’t say anything, you got nervous.
“I don’t know if that’s a good idea.”
“Can you please pretend to be my date? Just this time.” You said and Yelena thought about it.
“Okay, fine, but you have to tell me why.” She said and you told her everything, starting from the day that shield agent started making you uncomfortable. Yelena listened and got mad because of this Agent wouldn’t leave you alone. She promised to play your girlfriend, so he would believe it.
The time passed quickly and suddenly it was the day of the party. You and Yelena meet before the party to discuss the do’s and don’ts, so that neither of you would feel uncomfortable.
You walked down the stairs with Yelena next to you, feeling a little nervous. Before you went to join the others, she looked at you with a smile and reached for your hand. When Yelena took your hand, you were no longer nervous. You actually felt so safe next to her.
When you entered the room, everyone was already in party mode. Everyone was dancing, singing or had a drink at the bar. Everyone had fun and enjoyed the time. As you and Yelena walked to the bar where Natasha was, you saw Bryan looking at you and Yelena. Yelena noticed where you were looking and when she saw Bryan, she suddenly cupped your cheek and kissed you softly.
“I think he believes it now.” She said and you got a little sad because she only kissed you, so he would think you’re dating.
“Yeah” You said and walked over to Natasha.
“Wow, you two are taking this fake dating very serious.” Natasha said with a grin.
“Of course, we do.” Yelena said and Natasha chuckled. You sat next to Yelena, holding her hand and sometimes she kissed you on your cheek. After sitting there for a while, you started to feel sad because you and Yelena are only going to get so close tonight.
You asked for a drink, then for another one and after a while you were drunk. You were laughing and started singing along to the song that was playing.
“I love this song.” You shouted and Yelena chuckled.
“Let’s go dancing. “ You said to Yelena, but she shook her head.
“No, let’s stay here.”
“Why?” You asked, making a sad face. She wanted to answer, but then you saw Steve behind Yelena.
“Heyyyyyy Steve!” You shouted and waved at him. Steve smiled and waved back at you.
“Sestra, I think you should take your girlfriend to her room.” Natasha said as you rested your head on Yelena’s shoulder.
“Yeah, I think that’s a good idea.”
“Come on, let’s go to your room.” Yelena said to you, stood up from the chair and reached for your hand. You took her hand with a smile and walked to your room. Once you were in your room, you sat down on your bed and started to giggle.
“What’s so funny?” Yelena asked curiously, sitting next to you.
“Isn’t it funny how I asked you to be my fake date?” You said and Yelena looked confused.
“I think it’s funny, especially since I have a crush on you.” You said and then went quiet.
“What did you just say?”
“Oh no, did I really just say that?”
“I’m so sorry, I understand if we can’t be friends anymore.” You said and looked away.
“Of course, we can still be friends and maybe we could even be more than friends.” Yelena said and now it was your time to be shocked.
“What?”
“I’m in love with you.” Yelena confessed and you started to smile.
“How about we kiss again, but this time for real?” Yelena asked with a grin, and you nodded.
Looks like asking Yelena to be your fake date wasn’t such a bad idea. Otherwise you wouldn’t have confessed that you love each other. You’re glad that you finally know that she has the same feelings for you.
Happy Together
Pairing: Florence Pugh × Fem!Reader
Summary: A cute unplanned date night with your girlfriend, Florence
Disclaimer: English is not my first language, be aware and be kind
Tumblr media
"Hey," Florence greeted as she walked closer to where you were leaning against the car. "You didn’t have to pick me up."
It was late. Very late, actually. There were maybe three or four cars still in the parking lot aside from yours, but there wasn’t anyone else walking around. They were probably still in the studio working, even at that ridiculous hour.
Florence's face showed her fatigue. She had cleaned her skin from the heavy makeup she had to wear on set and it was easy to spot the bags under her eyes. She was also wearing her comfortable sweatpants and a loose jacket, the same clothes she had walked out of the house earlier that day. It seemed she was a minute away from falling asleep while walking from the way she was dragging her feet.
However, as soon as she spotted you, her face lit up all at once. You could feel your chest warming up at the clear affection you could see in her expression, at the bright smile that curled her lips up, at the way she seemed taller and more alert than she had been a second ago. It was mostly dark around you two, and you wouldn’t have been able to see anything if it wasn’t for the reflectors around the parking lot, but you would be able to swear right there that Florence lit up everything around her like the sun.
When she stopped in front of you, glancing up, you realized you hadn’t replied yet. Instead of saying something yet, you cupped her jaw, tilted your head to the side, and pressed a lingering kiss on her lips. You didn’t bother to deepen it, though the simple, delicate touch was enough to make your heart race inside your chest.
When you pulled away, all smiles and warm cheeks, you wasted no time placing both hands on her waist to keep her where she was. Standing between your slightly parted legs, looking at you with those soft green eyes. Suddenly, you were in no rush to get back home. You could stay there forever with her, if needed.
"Yes, well, I wasn't going to let you get a cab this late," you replied after a few seconds.
It was past midnight the last time you checked your phone. One of the downsides of her work. When the night shots started, Florence would be in the studios for much longer than usual and, really, there were days she didn’t even know when she would be free to go home.
When she told you early that week that she would be getting back home around two or three in the morning, you were worried, of course. So, the obvious solution in your head was to make sure she would get there safely. You two didn’t live together yet, and you knew you would stay awake until she texted you to let you know she made it home, so, really, it was easier to go pick her up.
Besides, that gave you an excellent excuse to see her again. Even if you woke up together only hours ago.
Florence rolled her eyes fondly at you, a smile trying to make an appearance, before she placed a palm flat against your chest, right above your heart. Her hand stayed there for a moment, but her finger quickly started to draw the outline of your bra under your shirt. It was a move made out of habit, you knew it, but there was no stopping the shiver that ran down your spine.
"We don't need both of us to have a fucked up schedule, you know?" She said.
You shrugged. "I don't have work tomorrow, so it's not a problem." Then, because you knew she would insist that you didn’t have to be there, you kept talking: "Did you have time to eat yet?"
The grimace that took over her expression was enough to let you know the answer, but she still grumbled under her breath. "No. I literally just left the costume department to take off my clothes. We had to make, like, a million takes on the same thing," she complained and an adorable pout showed up right after.
It made you want to lean over to kiss her lips again, but you kept yourself in place offering only a smile at her. You didn’t quite understand her world - the shootings, the photoshoots, the costumes, the takes - though you loved the way her eyes shined whenever she mentioned her work.
That, of course, didn’t change the fact that, sometimes, her working schedule messed up some other aspects of her life, such as eating food and drinking water. It always made you worried whenever she told you she skipped lunch or that she totally forgot to drink water that day. You always jokingly said it was a hard task to make sure she would live another day, but, in reality, you were just constantly worried about her.
Which explained the way you physically cringed when you heard her poor explanation. "Oh, Flo," you sighed and just knew there was no point trying to talk her into healthy habits. "Well, let’s see if we can find an open restaurant, okay?"
"I'm tired." Florence pouted while drawing her hands to her shoulders and then down your arms.
"I know, but you need to eat something. We can order it to go, if you wish."
"Fine," she sighed and pulled away from you, which almost made you regret ever saying anything. "But just because I'm actually hungry."
"Get inside your carriage then, madam," you joked, adding a weird French accent in the last word, and making a quick run to the passenger's side to open the door for her.
She chuckled at you and kissed your cheek as she walked past you to enter the car. You took some precious seconds to recover from the way your heart fluttered because of the delicate kiss, but, eventually, you were able to rush to the driver's seat and take off not long after that.
"What do you wanna eat?" You asked.
"Whatever we can find open this late at night," she replied with a small shrug. "It's very late, I doubt we're going to find any open restaurants."
You would have to agree with her. You tried to keep your eyes on the road at the same time you glanced from side to side to see if you could find anything that was still working that late, but Florence's favorite places were closed, just like everywhere else. It was a bit crazy to think a city that size wouldn’t be working 24/7, but it seemed it wasn’t your lucky day because there were no restaurants still open for you to take your girlfriend for a late dinner.
Eventually, after you drove for several minutes and your frustration grew more and more, you felt Florence's hand touching your thigh to get your attention. "Let's go home, my love. I'm sure I still have some instant noodles in the cabinet."
You sighed, ready to admit your defeat. "I guess we would only find a McDonald's working this late. Sorry, babe."
Busy as you were trying to get a better look at the river mirror to change lanes so you could drive to her house, you failed to notice the face your girlfriend made. "Hmm," she hummed, tilting her head to the side as well. "I wouldn’t be opposed to McDonald's."
"Really?" You asked in surprise, throwing a quick glance at her. "McDonald's?"
"They have a vegetarian menu now," was the only thing she said before shrugging, and you really didn’t need much more to change your way to the closest McDonald's you could find.
Florence loved to eat real food, as she liked to say, and it was very unusual that she would express the wish to eat fast food like that. However, considering the other option was to go home and make instant noodles, you weren’t going to try to change her mind. Besides, you really loved good junk food.
"Fine," you relented. "But, if your mom asks, I get mad when you don't eat healthy food." To make your point, you turned your head at her, taking advantage of the red light, and made a face that was clearly you trying to have an 'I'm-Mad-Façade'.
Florence laughed loudly, throwing her head back for a moment and showing the column of her throat, before she leaned over until your noses were almost touching. What did touch you, though, was her finger poking where your eyebrows had joined thanks to your fake grimace. It made your face instantly relax and she laughed again when you pouted and looked at the street again. A second later, the light turned green and you were moving again.
"Very mad," she teased, although there was too much love in her tone for it to actually bother you. "The maddest."
You sighed dramatically. "My efforts are never acknowledged."
"They're always acknowledged, darling," Florence corrected you gently as she placed a soft hand on your thigh.
You grabbed her hand and raised it to your lips so you could kiss her knuckles, but you had to drop your light teasing with her since you had to pull into the drive-thru. "What do you want to eat?"
"Oh, I could eat an entire house," she groaned. Florence moved a bit to be able to read the bright letters as you drove in. "McPlant, the apple pie and fries."
"Anything to drink?"
"I should probably get water," Florence said, but, as you looked at her with a raised brow, she laughed. "What? At least I got the vegetarian one!"
"So that means you can drink the milkshake," you joked, already leaning over to make your order.
"That's way too much food," she commented when you moved to grab your credit card.
You shrugged. "You said you're hungry."
"But two large fries, four apple pies and nuggets?"
This time, you opened a smile at her as you waited to type your password. "I hope you enjoy the menu for our romantic date," you joked. "Very romantic," you added after putting your wallet away.
Florence rolled her eyes, but she had a big smile on her face and you couldn’t resist leaning in to give her a peck. You drove to pick up your order next and, after putting way too many things inside your car, you started driving toward her house. Florence kept talking about her day, her crazy agenda, her ongoing meetings and table readings, and you listened to her carefully as both of you stole a french fry from a bag every once in a while.
You were about a mile from her house when she tapped your arm suddenly and pointed at something. "Let's go to the park!"
"What?!" You asked without trying to hide your surprise. "Do you know how late it is?"
She glanced at you. "It's literally in front of a police station. And there’s a place to park the car."
"Are you sure you don't wanna go home?"
"I'm just trying to bring this romantic dinner to a nice location," Florence explained.
And even if you weren’t totally sure it was a good idea, you also knew you were very bad at telling her 'no'. That's why it wasn’t a surprise at all when you found yourself parking your car at the spot right under a lamppost. It was a nice park, but you already knew that. Florence takes her dog there for walks and you have joined them more than once. Even so, it looks even better at night. The fountain lit up with thousands of little lights that also made the trees and flowers around it glow as well. It was also a beautiful night. They could see the stars and the moon up in the sky, the street wasn’t awfully noisy as usual, and the few people walking around didn’t even seem to exist.
Florence apparently had intended for you two to eat inside the car, but you got out and started to put the different bags of food on top of the hood before you coaxed her outside as well. Your girlfriend looked a bit suspicious, although she didn’t offer any resistance when you helped her slide on the hood. You made a quick pause to give her a kiss, letting your hands rest on her hips for a few more seconds, and then you pushed yourself up to sit by her side, already grabbing a nugget to eat.
Florence only smiled at you, shaking her head fondly, before she reached for her burger to start eating. There, both of you talked and ate with no rush at all, talking and laughing and sharing fries. At some point, Florence had some ketchup at the corner of her mouth and you used the pad of your thumb to clean it, smiling when you noticed her cheeks turning a bit darker.
"I'm sorry," you whispered with a grin, suddenly feeling a bit self-conscious.
"For what?" Florence asked and tilted her head to the side.
You shrugged, unsure. "Well, you're used to fancy restaurants and those complicated dishes I can't even pronounce. And here I am, making you eat McDonald's on top of the hood of my car."
Florence's hand touched your cheek before you could look away from her as you planned on doing. She waited until your eyes were locked with hers and smiled gently. "This is the most romantic dinner I ever had," she declared so certainly that there was no room left for you to doubt it even for a second. "Because it's you, and I’m so lucky to have you, darling. How lucky can I be, really, that I just got the best girlfriend in the entire world, huh?"
Feeling even more embarrassed and a bit flustered, you end up looking down. "Didn’t know you were dating yourself," you grumbled under your breath, almost low enough that Florence wouldn’t be able to hear it.
But she did, and her reaction was to laugh happily at you. Florence's body ended up leaning toward you and her forehead rested on your shoulder as her small frame shook with laughs, and you just couldn’t help but put your arm around her waist even if your cheeks felt like they were on fire. It still amazed you that you kept falling more and more in love with her as the days went by.
"Come on, let’s get you home," you said after her laughs ceased.
You tapped Florence's thigh and tried to move away, but she only leaned away enough time to place a hand on your cheek to pull you in for a kiss. Your lips touched gently at first, bringing a shiver down your spine, though you didn’t waste any time to slip your tongue between her parted lips. Florence sighed against your lips and that’s when you both knew it was time to break the kiss.
"You're coming with me, right?" Florence asked once she pulled away, licking her lips while brushing her thumb against your bottom lip to brush off her lipstick.
"If you wish for my outstanding presence," you joked and got an eye roll as a reply, which made you chuckle. "Anything you want, Flo."
"Let's go then," she declared. "I want to cuddle!"
"Your wish is my command, my love."
