No coz I loved that eventhough he was younger, Moon DongEun referred to YeoJeong as sunbae (he was her senior at uni) (and he referred to her as hoobae) and then later YeoJeong telling Doyoung that Moon DongEun is still stuck at 19 and it made just so much more sense at how they chose to address each other
#the glory#i know the translations didn't do the drama justice sometimes#years of watching kdrama experience lol

A question about your two homelands: South Korea and Uzbekistan
How do you imagine their relationship? Do they know each other? What's others from central asian family relationship with Yong Soo?
teehee(ugly giggling noise)
their relationship is pretty good! recently uzb ordered a railroad system from korea, which is the first time a country purchased a railroad system from korea !! she's truly a trailblazer... mostly, given the economic status of uzb and korea, uzb benefits most from korea rather than the other way around.
the first step in uzbek-korean relations was from the late 90s to the 2000s. during this time, k-dramas first aired in uzbekistan, and the first uzbeks moved to korea mainly in the form of university students studying tech and science(and of which my dad was one of the first to do so lol). so the community was small, but tight.
some of these students would go back to uzbekistan and talk about how developed and nice it was, fueling more interest in korea. some would bring their families/spouses to korea(my dad brought my mom to korea lol), and some would even begin to export uzbek goods to korea(a family friend of ours did this with uzbek melons!! I miss them they were so delish..).
nowadays, the community is gigantic, and uzbeks are the 5th most biggest foreigner group in korea as of 2023. more korean restaurants and products are being introduced in uzbekistan(halal 신라면...what a dream...), though mainly in tashkent.
speaking of tashkent, there's a seoul park since tashkent and seoul are sister cities!! it was made in 2014. however, i don't live in tashkent nor do I have immediate family that does, so i've literally never been around tashkent except for the airport...
another big factor in uzbek-korean relations are the ethnic Koreans(고려사람) that live in uzbekistan. after china and america, uzbekistan has the 3rd largest ethnic korean population at approximately 174000. this was because koreans that immigrated to russia from the late 19th century to early 20th century were forcefully deported to central asia by stalin, accusing them of being japanese spies. since uzbekistan's landlocked with a slightly different climate and crops, they tried their best to mimic korean foods such as kimchi and japchae. uzbeks took note of this and began to eat it as well, as salads called morkovcha and funchoza. morkovcha's actually a popular topping on hotdogs in uzbekistan, which is kinda funny lol
I can see yongsoo taking her around korea to see all sorts of things. they rent hanbok and toured around gyeongbokgung, have a picnic at the han river, and when she feels homesick he takes her to an uzbek restaurant. the first time this happened she probably cried.
they also go cafe hopping, and it's one of her favorite things to do in seoul because of the diverse cafe scene in hongdae and seongsu.
he's one of the people she trusts with taking photos of her the most. he knows what kinds of poses fit the ambiance and vibe, and always angles the camera right. she proudly posts those photos on social media.
watching kdramas is a must!! she probably swoons for a lot of the male love interests lol, and fangirled a bit too hard at gong yoo when she watched goblin. she's glad there's less...intimate scenes compared to a certain other person's dramas...
due to frequent exchange and the sheer number of uzbeks in korea, uzbekistan knows more than enough korean to get around.
yongsoo always takes her to clothing stores and tries finding her pieces that would match her style. she trusts him immensely with this.
bro also gives her love advice lol. what can I say, he's a 2000 year old man trapped in a 20 year old's body. he's got both experience and charm! whether she takes his advice or disregards it is up to her...
he also has other advice regarding an outlook on life, and staying optimistic. he reminds her never to give up on her country and people, since even his war-torn country rose with the power of its people working hard in order to become the success it was today.
other casian countries' relationships speed round!!
kazakhstan: kazakhstan has CU stores, a korean convenience store chain. my kazakh friend showed me how the kazakh chains even have vanilla flavored milk, which is something we don't have here. however as far as im aware, the CU stores are mostly in metropolitan areas. kazakhstan also has an ethnic korean population! there's also more korean companies investing in kazakhstan since they're more developed.
Kyrgyzstan: I couldn't find much, but Kyrgyzstan does have a sizable ethnic korean population also
Tajikistan and turkmenistan: nothing really notable...T^T
in short, korea's known uzbekistan for longer and equally interacts with uzbekistan and kazakhstan!
#I wanted to draw them but. its late so I can't aaaah#hetalia#aph south korea#hws south korea#aph uzbekistan#hws uzbekistan#nargiza yusufqizi#im yong soo#aph kazakhstan#hws kazakhstan#aph kyrgyzstan#hws kyrgyzstan#tokki answers#*pointing at uzbekistan and korea* they made me!!!

Hi! Nice to read you.
I've been in Tumblr for years, and this is the first time I send a message. I mostly use this app to read, and I'm usually just a ghost because I don't comment or anything else besides read, lol.
Well, the reason I felt like I needed to send you a message is because this channel of yours is new and I have read all your posts so far and I am absolutely intrigued to read more from you in the future because you already made me laugh a few times plus you have a psychology degree and although I don't have one because funny enough, I hated reading so much when I took psychology classes that I couldn't fathom getting that degree.
I do have a way with humans that is not common with the bast majority. I'm very intuitive and empathic as well, which makes my interactions with people deeper than I sometimes would like it to be. But that's a different story... I digress...
I found BTS this year because of K-Dramas. All of a sudden, I don't know how my Instagram went from KDramas to BTS. They are all over my explore feed, lol.
(Well it's not that difficult for IG to full my feed with them since once you like KDrama stuff, the whole South Korea country shows up in the algorithm lol, I just find it funny, sorry again I digress...)
The way I got to "meet" BTS was with the Run Episodes mini Reels in IG. Again, they are all over my feed. So eventually I found out they sing, and found a song I liked, searched it up, found out it was from them, got obsessed with the song, and now I have a few more that I like a lot so far.
I do not consider myself an Army, and I don't think I ever will. I do think BTS is absolutely talented and great performers and I may like more songs in the future if I go over all the albums because so far their songs find me in reels and that's how I have come to like the ones I do. But I do think the fandom is very toxic in my opinion, I'm not saying that all the people in there are, but overall from all the experience I have so far from them, that's the feeling I get as of now from most of the fandom. so I don't see myself connecting that far.
I like all the members. They each have something that I like about them, but what I have come to find out is that Jimin is out of this word. I don't know what that man has, but for God's sake, he can get people obsessed if they are not careful.
Do I consider myself a PJM? No.
However, the man can convert me at any minute to be honest, and I won't notice.
Well, my main reason to write to you is because although I've known about them in more detail the past few months, I'm really new to them. The past month, I got to know what shipping means, and like you, the first thing I saw on Instagram was the JK and TH one. I did not understand what was the romantic side of the videos I was being shown because I couldn't see anything beyond a great friendship. Then, I don't know how, but a video of JM and JK showed up. It was a compilation of them staring at each other and another one of JK walking to any direction JM was going to, and let me tell you...
I felt like I was spying on a couple that were in their private room and I just happened to be in the closet looking through a small hole because I got trapped there before they showed up and shut the door and I could get out. I FELT SO INTRUSIVE THAT IT MADE ME TURN MY HEAD SIDEWAYS MORE THAN ONCE, like I shouldn't be watching such a intimacy without consent. JESUS!!!
The feelings were deep. Let me tell you that much.
So, I, as a romantic person that loves LOVE and anything related to that, such as movies, and again K-Drama, well... I came to Tumblr to investigate this situation, hahahaha... and let's just say that in the past 2 weeks, I have consumed an insane amount of BTS shipping posts than what I would be proud to admit. It's very bad, I need a break. But I'm a binge watcher, and the content seems infinite (WOW), I'm the type of person that watches a K-dramma in one sitting because I can't do it anyway else.
Well, I have told you too much irrelevant sh*t sorry lol
My reason for the message was because I would like to read more posts of JM and JK from the perspective of people that that have follow them for a while and watch original content and express their thoughts on what they see and why they think of them as they do because of what they see.
I am interested in reading how people evaluate what they see without my personal thoughts about what I see as bias. I have been finding the posts I have read like that entertaining. But unfortunately the past weeks as well most of the things I see is people asking bogglers why they think JM and JK are still together and a constant fighting about recent things like video leaks, JK meeting too much with his friends but no with JM, this or that, and it's getting boring seeing these bloggers intelligence wasted on those questions.
My opinion is this: I won't assume they are a couple unless they say so (highly unlikely) or when definite proof gets leaked or posted by Dispatch or something like that. (Which I really hope it never happens, they don't deserve an outing like that if they are not ready) but I find it very concerning that these so called fans, and shippers just want proof that they are together so bad, that they don't care how that proof gets to them, which may hurt their so called bias. That's honestly SICK behavior! And then they wonder why people joke that BTS fandom is full of 12 years old. Again, I digress...
So, as I was saying, I won't assume they are a couple because I respect people, and I don't want to assume their sexuality or relationship. But I don't judge those who assume in a respectful way, I just personally don't want to cross that line.
In my personal opinion, they make me feel like they have feelings for each other and that they are aware of them. Have they crossed the sex line yet? Maybe.
The vibe I get is that they are aware of their feelings towards each other and might be scared to cross that line for the sake of their friendship or the group. Though, that doesn't stop them from being as physical as they show to be on screen.
They're like, "we know we have feelings for each other, we won't cross the sex line, but we will play with fire." And one thing is for sure in this life, intimacy goes beyond the sex act.
They are probably more intimate than what sex could make them be. I don't even know how to explain it in a coherent way to those who just see sex as the way of being fully intimate.
Also, I don't know why people have to assume that they are gay if they are proven to be with each other. I can never get disappointed enough of humans and their limited intelligence, like sometimes two people have a connection so strong that even if they have been only in a heterosexual relationship their whole lives, and there was this one instace where they were in a homosexual one, it automatically doesn't mean the person is part of the LGBTQ+ community, it's just means that there was a person, possibly what they would consider their "soul mate" that happen to be their same sex. But otherwise they have only been attracted to the opposite sex and will find themselves only attracted to the opposite sex if that person no longer exist in the picture, because they will never feel somethig like that again.
I've seen it, that's why I get mad when people don't see that, in this world there's so much that can be possible without putting a pre-existing LGBTQ+ label on it, that's why there's a + in it I guess. But AGAIN, I digress...
Now, even if JM and JK come out saying that they never have had anything going on, that they are with other people in a relationship or whatever else. I won't ever doubt that they had feelings for each other up to 2023. That much I am sure of, no matter the outcome of their relationship. These two had a mini encounter on a live a few days ago, and they both malfunctioned at one point lol they don't know how to control themselves.
But I just wanted to say that I hope you share more of your thoughts of what you see and saw on content where they are part of, like the youtube video you shared, (which I will watch once I have almost 3 hours to spare because once I start that, I won't stop until it's done lol) so I hope to read your opinions on those contents, your thought process as you watch those things. That would be entertaining for me as a new person viewing this shipping world, and those new like me that want to read stuff like that as entertainment or to learn more about them.
People here write as if all the readers are old in the BTS world or, more specifically, the Jikook world and not all of us are. I caught you doing some comments like that too so far, like "if you know you know," or like "you know what I am talking about," and I'm like... "But I don't know, I want to know but don't know lol" so I'm left clueless lol
Please, I hope that if you are here for a long run, remember that people like me will always exist and we may find your blog in our way to discovery and won't know sh*t lol. Also, I hope you tag more words so your posts are easier to find for people like me. Like when a post is about Jikook, you can also tag JM and JK tags since it is about them anyway. I was just following the Jimin tag, and now I will follow the Jikook one because some posts don't make it to the Jimin tag even tho the post includes him. But you may have your reasons, so it's totally fine if you don't.
Sorry for the long message. It's my first one ever, and I took it seriously, apparently lol.
I'm a millennial, I use lol a lot...
Att: The LOL Millennial
P.S. Any possible grammar/spelling mistakes are expected for my old age lol, thank you :)
God, I love a good, long message. Hi! Hope you don't mind me sharing your story and thoughts. It was a good read! I've also been a lurker until recently.
I'll try to respond in order.
"But I do think the fandom is very toxic in my opinion, I'm not saying that all the people in there are, but overall from all the experience I have so far from them, that's the feeling I get as of now from most of the fandom. so I don't see myself connecting that far."
It is absolutely okay to be a casual fan. It's healthier even. About the fandom, it's big enough to be a country, and as we know, a country holds many perspectives, personalities, religions, opinions, factions, moral/political alignments, criminals, and creeps, but also mostly just regular folk trying to make it through the day. That's how I see ARMY. It's simply too massive for everyone to get along. I think the toxicity has gotten much worse since the solo era started and the fandom is more divided than ever.
However, I believe that once BTS returns as a group, all of the garbage that's happened or been said this year will be forgotten. Solo projects have rotted the fandom's brains and yet were absolutely vital to the artistic growth of each member. It's a necessary evil, and BTS will be way, way stronger for it. We, the regular folk here, just keep our heads down and weather the storm. Amazing things are coming.
"But unfortunately the past weeks as well most of the things I see is people asking bogglers why they think JM and JK are still together and a constant fighting about recent things like video leaks, JK meeting too much with his friends but no with JM, this or that, and it's getting boring seeing these bloggers intelligence wasted on those questions."
We're getting a lot more fan interaction from the members during this hiatus than I thought we would. So it was surprising to me to see people whining about Jimin and Jungkook not posting about each other enough. Some people seem to think those two need to communicate solely via public social media otherwise they hate each other. Some people have entire narratives on how/when/why jikook broke up based on the stupidest shit you can imagine. As I said, solo era has been painful. My brain cells are dropping like flies.
"but I find it very concerning that these so called fans, and shippers just want proof that they are together so bad, that they don't care how that proof gets to them, which may hurt their so called bias."
Because to them Jungkook and Jimin are dolls to smash together while making kissy sounds. They just want to "win" their little ship war. As far as I'm concerned, there is no war because jikook is an actual possibility and the others are not. End of story. Any explicit "proof" getting out would be disastrous for them at this point in time.
"In my personal opinion, they make me feel like they have feelings for each other and that they are aware of them. Have they crossed the sex line yet? Maybe.
The vibe I get is that they are aware of their feelings towards each other and might be scared to cross that line for the sake of their friendship or the group. Though, that doesn't stop them from being as physical as they show to be on screen."
I think this was pretty much my opinion too until I started my deep dive and observing the timeline. The "state" of them of being aware of their feelings for each other but hesitant was late 2015/first half of 2016, in my personal timeline, it's one of the big shifts I saw. Their relationship has several developments after that too. So if they're currently in a romantic/sexual relationship, they have been for years. If they're not, then it's not likely to happen.
"in this world there's so much that can be possible without putting a pre-existing LGBTQ+ label on it"
Sexuality is a spectrum and people shouldn't have to define themselves if there is no label that quite fits. The more labels and distinctions we make, the more we box people in and become less inclusive. Jimin could be bi, Jungkook could be gay, but we don't know. We can't know. What I do know is that they really find each other really, really attractive.
"But I just wanted to say that I hope you share more of your thoughts of what you see and saw on content where they are part of, like the youtube video you shared"
Thank you for your support! That's the plan! It was painful to be so undetailed in the intro post.
"People here write as if all the readers are old in the BTS world or, more specifically, the Jikook world and not all of us are. I caught you doing some comments like that too so far, like "if you know you know," or like "you know what I am talking about," and I'm like... "But I don't know, I want to know but don't know lol" so I'm left clueless lol"
I know that's annoying, it was for me as well when I was starting my journey. But the "if you know you know" stuff I'm referring to is pics/info that leaked and we weren't supposed to see. More "evidence' I suppose. Nothing that would ruin their lives, obviously, but far far more telling than any dumbass clip/pic we've gotten for their other dating "rumors." Maybe you've already seen them. I'm not going to gatekeep these things, since they're out there anyway and you can find them, but you can reach out to me if you'd like and I can tell you in private.
"Also, I hope you tag more words so your posts are easier to find for people like me. Like when a post is about Jikook, you can also tag JM and JK tags since it is about them anyway."
The reason I didn't tag them individually is because solos, akgaes, and taekookers (jk tag) lurk in those tags and they're eye-twitchingly annoying. Especially right now.
Nonny, thank you so much for listening to my story and sharing yours. It was lovely to wake up to. I appreciate the interest a lot. I hope to hear from you in the future!

━━━━━━ㅤㅤGET TO KNOW THE MUN . 🌙
ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴍᴀᴅᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ᴘɪᴄᴋ ᴜᴘ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄᴜʀʀᴇɴᴛ ᴍᴜꜱᴇ(ꜱ) ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ?
This is embarrassing but when I first watched BSD, the second I saw them in the OP, I was like ' WHO IS THAT CUTE KID ? ' and then it was all over from there. I did not know that this ' cute kid ' would be holding the brain cell for like six years nowㅤ—ㅤor that in those six years, Asagiri would still REFUSE TO GIVE THEM ANY SCREEN TIME OR STORY RELEVANCE PAST SEASON 2.
ɪꜱ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ʏᴏᴜ ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴡʀɪᴛᴇ?
Nothing really aside from s/mut and r/omance ? I have played adult muses despite my abundance of child muses and shipping was never really something I found appealing. And when I do play adult muses, I tend to like slowburn but probably too slow for the other partner lol
ɪꜱ ᴛʜᴇʀᴇ ᴀɴʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ʏᴏᴜ ʀᴇᴀʟʟʏ ᴇɴᴊᴏʏ ᴡʀɪᴛɪɴɢ?
Let Yumeno see things ! Let Yumeno experience life ! But also let them experience THE HORRORS.
ʜᴏᴡ ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴄᴏᴍᴇ ᴜᴘ ᴡɪᴛʜ ʜᴇᴀᴅᴄᴀɴᴏɴꜱ?
Sometimes they just pop in my head or some sort of media or thing I'm consuming makes me think of the headcanons ! And considering Asagiri didn't give me a lot to work withㅤ—ㅤit's free real estate.
ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡʀɪᴛᴇ ɪɴ ꜱɪʟᴇɴᴄᴇ ᴏʀ ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴘʟᴀʏ ᴍᴜꜱɪᴄ?
Usually I do !
ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴘʟᴀɴ ʏᴏᴜʀ ʀᴇᴘʟɪᴇꜱ ᴏʀ ᴡɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇᴍ?
99% of the time, I wing them because I am the most organized A/DHD person in the world /s. Sometimes in the rare instance that a reply is REALLY LONG or there's a lot of stuff happening in the reply, I plan them !
ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴇɴᴊᴏʏ ꜱʜɪᴘᴘɪɴɢ?
Motions at the answer I typed about this. Not really ! Maybe that's why I stick to minor muses for the most part. Howeverㅤ—ㅤI am all for platonic / familial dynamics.
ᴡʜᴀᴛ'ꜱ ʏᴏᴜʀ ᴀʟɪᴀꜱ/ɴᴀᴍᴇ?
Stella ! I don't have any profound story about it tbh. I just liked how it sounded.
ᴀɢᴇ?
Old 28.
ʙɪʀᴛʜᴅᴀʏ?
May 1st and I have the most FUCKED Astral birth chart ever !
ꜰᴀᴠᴏʀɪᴛᴇ ᴄᴏʟᴏʀ(ꜱ)?
Everyone knows it's blues but I enjoy the rare purple / pink / red every once in a while.
ꜰᴀᴠᴏʀɪᴛᴇ ꜱᴏɴɢ(ꜱ)?
I have this disease called I hyperfixate on the same songs for long periods of time until they lose all meaning. I ALSO have a disease called I'm very specific about what I like to the point that I DON'T know what I like. But some of my favorite artists are Bring Me The Horizon, Emilie Autumn, FAKE TYPE, In This Moment, POPPY, etc. Butㅤ—ㅤI've mainly been listening to P/okemon OSTS lately lol
ʟᴀꜱᴛ ᴍᴏᴠɪᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜᴇᴅ?
I honestly cannot remember !
ʟᴀꜱᴛ ꜱʜᴏᴡ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜᴇᴅ?
Some weird Kdrama my Dad and I still haven't finished.
ʟᴀꜱᴛ ꜱᴏɴɢ ʏᴏᴜ ʟɪꜱᴛᴇɴᴇᴅ ᴛᴏ?
Giant stellar turtle !
ꜰᴀᴠᴏʀɪᴛᴇ ꜰᴏᴏᴅ?
Basically any form of junk food like cookies and cake and also Chinese egg tarts. In terms of real food, pasta, shrimp rice noodle rolls, adobo, lumpia, sinigang, etc.
ꜰᴀᴠᴏʀɪᴛᴇ ꜱᴇᴀꜱᴏɴ?
The cold dead winter because I don't have to worry about cutting the grass or bugs ! We SOMEHOW always get wasp infestations in our house every spring / summer and it's super annoying.
ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴀ ᴛᴜᴍʙʟʀ ʙᴇꜱᴛ ꜰʀɪᴇɴᴅ?
Yes ! There's @jardinae who's so creative and talented and her OC world is absolutely magical ! Then there's @embxllmer who I've been friends with since before BSD which is crazy because you all know I've been in BSD for YEARS. Then there's @diverse-hearts and @smol-sirens-garden who've seen me at my best and my worse and tolerate me screaming about infinitely spawning fish in H/SR ! @idleautumn is like a big sister to me as well ! There are definitely more I'm missing as well but every mutual is friend-shaped !

hiii elly <3
kinda bored lately and wanted to watch something so came here for recs :) could be of any kind btw like movies, tv shows (any language)
also maybe not something from your top ten kdramas post lol i've already watched most of the shows on there
also how're you doing?
hope you're doing well <33
Hey girl hey! Thank you for asking, I'm doing well! Terribly busy, but on the whole things are good. How about you?
Oooh okay this is quite a thing to ask me, I'm going to get decision paralysis dhdvdvdg but let me think of some less-common things I can recommend!
Available on Prime Video.
The Surprise (2015). Also available on Tubi. After inking their own death warrants, an eccentric millionaire and distraught woman fall in love and find voiding their contracts isn't an option. Romance! Dark humor! The k-drama truck of doom, except it's a Dutch movie! (Disclaimer: I do not recommend watching this film if one is suicidal)
From Prada to Nada (2011). A modern Mexican-American adaptation of Sense and Sensibility that surprisingly really works?? The title is woeful but the movie is pretty darn good.
The Lady Vanishes (2013). Iris Carr is traveling across Europe by train when she befriends Miss Froy, an elderly English woman. But when she wakes up from a few hours' sleep, Miss Froy has vanished. As fellow passengers claim the lady never existed, Iris fights to discover the fate of Miss Froy - and prove that she's not going mad.
Love and Friendship (2016). Adaptation of Jane Austen's Lady Susan, starring Kate Beckinsdale. The main character is the definition of gaslight gatekeep girlboss, and the supporting characters are all just. so funny.
To Tell The Truth (1961). If you just want something to distract you that doesn't take a lot of thinking, old game shows are ideal. In this one, a celebrity panel tries to guess which of three strangers is the person they claim to be.
Masterpiece/PBS Passport Shows.
All Creatures Great and Small (since 2020). Season 4 currently airing. A feel-good (but unafraid to get real and sad) show about the misadventures of a country vet practice in Yorkshire.
Miss Scarlet and the Duke (since 2020). Season 4 currently airing. In 1880s London, the daughter of a private investigator decides to take over his detective business after his untimely death. Mystery series that also has just about the BEST opening titles ever.
Available on Tubi (which is free!)
Forever Young (1992). The movie where I realized that Mel Gibson was cute, actually. In 1939, a heartbroken Army pilot volunteers for a cryogenics experiment and wakes up in 1992, where he gets a second shot at love.
The Space Between Us (2017). On his first visit to Earth, a man born and raised on Mars bonds with a street-smart young woman while unraveling the mysteries of how he came to be. To quote my mutual Chris: "wanna cry? 🥰"
The Dick Van Dyke Show (1960s). Some of the stuff hasn't aged well, but this is still one my top favorite old sitcoms. All the characters are so fun and endearing. You probably won't want to sift through all five seasons, so my top episode recommendations are "The Curious Thing About Women" (s1 e16), "The Two Faces of Rob" (s2 e2), "That's My Boy??" (s3 e1), "Big Max Calvada" (s3 e9), "October Eve" (s3 e28), "My Mother Can Beat Up My Father" (s4 e1), "4 1/2" (s4 e7), "The Impractical Joke" (s4 e16), and "Coast to Coast Big Mouth" (s5 e1).
(I got a little too excited with those episode recs, oopsie 🤭)
The Surprise, like I mentioned.
I just found out that they have some episodes of The Flintstones and Tom and Jerry on Tubi, if you want some good nostalgic laughs.
Available on Netflix.
Love At First Sight (2023). Cute romance about taking a chance on a good feeling.
The Adam Project (2022). You've probably seen it, but I will mention it anyway! Time travel. Annoying and precocious 12-year-old child. Ryan Reynolds and Zoe Saldaña. Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo! FIVE STARS.
Trevor Noah: I Wish You Would (2022). The best Trevor Noah special, in my opinion. The curry story??? Iconic forever and ever.
The Full-Time Wife Escapist (2018). A woman takes a job as a housekeeper, but in order to stay in it, she and her boss agree to a contract marriage. If you've ever seen the k-drama Because This Is My First Life... This is the better version of that show, imo. The ML is suchhh a sweetheart.
Indian Matchmaking (since 2020). I never watch reality TV, so I don't know how I started seeing this show, but it's SO good and super bingeable.
Omg the Jurassic Park movies are on Netflix right now
Available on Hulu.
Wild Mountain Thyme (2020). It's a love story, and it's so silly and enjoyable. The resolution is just shdhfhshshsg
The Giver (2014). Jonas learns the secrets of the past, and the utopia he's grown up in begins to look more and more dystopian. Also, Taylor Swift is there for some reason.
Flamin' Hot (2023). It wasn't until I watched this that I realized how much I need movies about Mexican success stories in my life. File this under ✨inspirational✨
If you haven't yet watched The Artful Dodger (2023), you absolutely should. Come for the romance, stay for the absolutely bonkers, insane hijinks.
I barely started watching Timeless (2016), but it looks really fun and good. It's about time travel, unsurprisingly for me 🤭
Available on Disney+
Baby's Day Out (1994). A childhood CLASSIC of mine. The cuteness is just. so much. The humor is standard slapstick, but really fun, and the mom has some of the most gorgeous 90s outfits omggg
Hidden Figures (2016). I love this movie endlesslyyy. Awesome intelligent Black women overcoming the odds, space race setting, and even a side of cute romance.
The Art of Racing in the Rain (2019). Dare I say, best dog movie I've seen?
The Call of the Wild (2020). Another dog movie, with Harrison Ford. I don't remember much of it but I remember really enjoying it.
Milo Murphy's Law (2017–2018). Have you seen this follow-up to Phineas and Ferb? If you haven't, you need to. The comedy is so gold tier and the music slaps.
Delicacies Destiny (2022). I kind of stopped watching this c-drama about 1/3 of the way through, but I totally should pick it up again, and it's worth watching even if just for all the gorgeous food scenes.
And of course, anything from my top ten k-dramas that you haven't seen yet is an automatic recommendation 😌
This got. so long. I hope you find something here that you like and thank you for asking @milkteawithrusk!! This was so fun to put together! 🫶🏼

I like the spousal person so very much. He is very cute and warm and nice and fun and he gets so interested in his kdrama and music and science fiction/fantasy books and oh, I want to stay with him always.
Adorable things the spousal person has done lately:
At his library job, he helped an immigrant who spoke Arabic through their translation thing. He said he helped them get a library card and sign up for conversational English classes and get their kid to the story times and things like that.
Showed me Rolling Quartz's newest video of their remake of a 50 year old Korean rock song.
Talked about gods in folklore and fiction and the books he'd read where gods are created and get their power from people believing in them and I said that's how it works in Terry Pratchett's books too and he said yeah, it's an idea that smart people often come up with.
We were watching The Matchmakers and the "old bachelors" almost all said their ideal type was someone "young and pretty" and I asked him about it, and he said I'm pretty but neither of us count as young anymore, lol.
Hmmm.
Is this where the weird takes about marriage come from? Because I've been happily married for 21 years since I was 21, so I feel upset and like I have to speak up about how wrong people are when they talk about marriage being horrible as a universal constant and getting married in your 20s being a horrible idea for everyone. Please note that I only get upset when they universalize it to everyone and they say that everyone should be just like them and they refuse to believe that anyone could ever be different from them or have different experiences, not when they just share their own personal experiences. No reason at all to get upset about people just sharing their own experiences.
But I guess maybe in their experience they had unhappy marriages, and so they're upset and they feel like they have to speak up to prevent people from being unhappy like they were? And they feel so strongly about it that they can't even acknowledge that their experiences aren't universal?
Anyway here in a bit we're going to the first annual Global Culture Festival at an international grocery store in our area. Lots of interesting food trucks are going to be there. :) And we'll try new foods and give each other bites and tell each other our thoughts, and I love living with the spousal person so much.

hi!!! mouse anon here
sorry it's been so long :3
how are you? I hope you've been doing good!
I've been pretty busy with work and I didn't have a lot of energy to watch the kdramas I had on my list but I've been reading a lot on my commutes lol im past my goal of 50 books for this year!
I did watch good detective season 2 which was honestly pretty good!! I didn't remember too much of the 1st season but they gave enough flashbacks that it seemed familiar idk if you watched it but every character except for the dad character was good. I kept getting reality checks of this is just the problems of the top 1% in society so I couldn't relate or care at times -_-
I had save me on my list for so long but I'm so hesitant to start cause I heard it's kind of a lot 😭 I just know the religious schtick of the cult would make me pissed like you said. I've been wanting some lighter shows lately but I'm not taking it off my list!
I still haven't gotten past the 1st ep of 2521 because of the finale!! how can I sit through a cute relationship only to get that ending 😭😭😭 you're so right, we're over relationships in kdramas! I need a good plot and found family and I'll be satisfied (extraordinary attorney woo had such a good couple even if we'll never know taeoh's backstory 😌)
omg I'm glad you liked the killer's shopping list! it's such a weird mix of genres but I think they handled it very well! (cafe minamdang is also on my list! ooh I'm glad it's similar!)
I've had to skip through many scenes of itaewon class :| the writing was just so weird but ahn bo hyun was done dirty by that show! that dye job/color was just so bad 😭
I'll start big mouth ASAP then! I kept seeing super cute gifsets but then people would comment and say the show's actually dark and emotional lol but I like a good mix of happy and sad (just not too sad)
I still haven't resumed dark too 😭 I haven't been productive at all 😭
my mom watched little woman I think and she liked it and I love the cast! it's also really short for a kdrama so it could be another short and good show!
from the new releases, I've heard cheer up was not what people were expecting and i saw mixed reviews so idk if I want it on my list. I do want to watch rookie cops and I heard glitch on netflix is very lesbian coded so it'll be up my alley! I'm also planning on starting law school soon even though it's been so long since you recommended it! I also heard somebody on netflix was good but I didn't hear as any people talking about it so I'm just basing that off of the 2 reviews I've seen lol
sorry I couldn't give you as any recs as I wanted to but I hope all the good recs find you anyway!!! <333
Mouse anon my beloved!!!! Didn’t think I’d hear from you again after changing the url on this blog actually, hi I hope you’ve been well!!!!
Honestly we’re IN SYNC cause I haven’t had the energy to watch a lot of things lately. And I think it started cause I, too, went on a reading binge since September / October of last year that completely shut off my brain for television. What types of books do you read? Is it the same investigation detective streak as your personal taste in tv? I’d love to talk about it
I haven’t watched good detective 2 yet for the reasons mentioned above…… I’ll def have to read about the plot of season 1 first because even with flashbacks I need to know I’m keeping up with the story as it is. It’s on my list for a unforeseeable future.
Yes save me is a lot honestly. I have an overbearing catholic mother so it was. A difficult series to swallow but for some reason I couldn’t stop watching it. It def awakes some raging feelings in you though, I believe even if you don’t have a strong feeling regarding Christianity in the first place like I do.
Bahahahaahahahha about2521 I FEEL YOU. But it’s also so incredibly in touch with the human experience of love and loss and life. It’s more brilliant because it’s over honestly, it sets the show apart from usual romantic dramas. But it’s still a heavy weight in the chest and something lodged on your throat so I get it if you can’t finish it
I never finished big mouth actually T-T I dropped it off by the few last episodes I believe…. It did got a bit dark by the end but the medical improbabilities of it kind of threw me off. It coincided with me dropping television altogether basically so there’s that
(Honestly it’s been so hard for me to enjoy a tv show lately. I kind of fell down the Thai tv rabbit hole and have occupied my mind with that. Some of their shows are really good. From kdrama I think the last one I truly enjoyed was weak hero class 1. The characters are layered in a way that they feel like book characters, it’s something I don’t usually feel when I’m watching television. It was honestly very very good. I’m trying to distract myself with reborn rich now. It’s better than most things in the sense that I can watch perhaps two entire episodes without exhausting the reels feed on my instagram)
Little woman was good!!! I kept up with it as it came out so I think that’s why I managed to get thru the entire thing. That and my love for Kim goeun. Wi hajoon was his usual extremely charming self also.
I didn’t know glitch was lesbian coded but I can assure you from the 2 and a half episodes I watched of somebody, that one Is heavily lesbian. I’ve also started a few episodes of awaken (Netflix) and it sounds like the type of show you’d like. Not even midway thru tho so I can’t promise it’s gonna be good to the end.
I hope you had a good end of the year and that your job treats you kindly. I also hope that you see this <3 and that maybe I can hear from you again <3

Reborn Rich episode 7 ✔️
It is the beginning of the end. Episode seven felt much like a transitional episode that began to tighten its hold on our Do Jun, just to release him later on. Up until now everything was going smoothly for him, but now he’s beginning to encounter challenge after challenge in the faces of his “family”.
I’ll separate this episode in to characters.
First Do Jun. I was really excited for this episode simply because of how the previous one ended. The face off between Do Jun and his grandfather in that dimly lit room was everything for me. It was, as I said, the beginning of the end. I love the timeframe this show has, the real events footage they use. The way they’re going with this, Do Jun is going to be responsible for how modern day (fictional) Seoul developed. I mean, it was already implied when he chose that particular piece of land to get from his grandfather. But now with the DMC too, this is quickly turning into “Do Jun built modern day Seoul” kind of thing, lol. (If you’re not familiar with what DMC is, it’s a real place in Seoul. If any of you are into fashion, Seoul Fashion week happened there in 2022. But it’s really much more than that.)
Another thing about Do Jun: the romance associated with him. I’m glad he rejected her offer. The way the preview set it up, I almost thought there’s a chance he’ll accept. For all we know, she could’ve been the one to order his murder in his previous life as Hyun Woo. I’m not really interested in the romance at all, so I’m glad it didn’t really take that course. I’m guessing we won’t be seeing Min Young for a while. It was implied we wouldn’t, at least to me. With the bar exam and the sad shot where she stands alone. Yeah, I think she won’t be very involved. Or at least, I hope. BUT THAT IS JUST ME, OKAY?
Next the grandfather, Jin Yang Cheol. I have a love-hate relationship with this character. He’s not truly evil, but he’s also wrong. But I guess that’s the point. He’s a good business man, not a good family man. Still human though. He feels for his children, he blames himself for making them out to be enemies and yet he can’t swallow his pride (and his company) for them. It must be what he wants and nothing else. He made his oldest son a cripple to save his company. Then he says he feels guilty about it. For me, the bad outweighs the good in him.
Oh Se Hyun, my beloved. He’s gained my trust. I was really suspicious of him for a while, but I think he’ll remain beside Do Jun for the rest of the show. I’m starting to like his character more and more. And I’m very happy to see more of Tiffany. Sorry, I mean Rachel. She is awesome, I love her. The role is basically herself with another name, but I love her.
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT PART FOR ME! I was waiting for Do Jun’s parents to be more involved! I had this thought in the back of my mind, I didn’t give it voice because I would’ve remained annoyed while watching the show and I didn’t want to ruin my own experience. I’m really, really happy that Do Jun’s father backed him up and I can’t wait to see more of Do Jun’s relationship with them. I’m sure that as Do Jun, he understands they had no control over what happened and they don’t even know their son was “swapped” in Do Jun’s mind (I assume). I’m still betting that they were actually his real parents even when he was Hyun Woo, but if I love it’s a bet I’m willing to lose.
The only moment of this episode that I didn’t like was when the lightbulb burst. It’s such a trademark move for kdramas to have that cheesy moment where someone saves a girl from something incredibly stupid and unthreatening in the most dramatic way possible. After nearly 10 years of kdrama I should be used to it. Cope, remon.
Anyways, that’s pretty much it for now. Looking forward to episode 8 and 9!

Hi TT!long time no see..how are you?also I'm so happy to know that you like Ok Taec- yepn 💖 he's...dreamy..have you heard his English? It's very..uhh..proper without being overly formal..is it weird that I like that about him?? Have you watched the Netflix documentaries like 'The Romantics' or the new Crime thriller 'Dahaad'? I'm not a series girl thanks to my attention span of a goldfish but I watched both and they are not bad!!the Romantics takes me back to those golden years of the Yash raj studio Mannn🥺🥺 Dahaad was a good watch, the victims or the crime were not shown distastefully and maybe cause it's made by a woman...please watch it if you can TT..also sorry for my previous ask which was REALLY long and messy before this( I don't even remember what I wrote 😓)..hope you have a really great week and hugs to your Kitty 💖💖💖
Hi friendddddd!
How you been!? Long time since I've seen you around these parts! Hope life has been kind to you.
Girl, I went into Vincenzo for the female gaze and Song Joong Ki as a Mafia man taking down capitalism (which is what Mais baited me with) but I came out IN LOVE with Ok Taecyeon. I truly loved his unhinged performance and had to find out allllll about the guy, and to my absolute delight, he's suchhhhh a fucking dork (affectionate); I can't believe that they saw this gianttttttt silly boi and were like yeah, HIM; he'll play the psycho!!! I'm not into K-pop like at alllll, but I'll listen to some 2PM occasionally just coz he's in it, lol. I'll also watch anything he's in coz he's truly one of my fave Kdrama actors (if not the toppppppp fave!) His upcoming vampire show looks absolutely adorable and is my most awaited thing of this month.
(This show can fix me, i know it can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
I tried watching The Romantics but like..... 2 minutes in, Ranveer Singh walked in being annoying and I was like nope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and turned it off. I'll revisit it again when I'm in a much more patient mood lmao. I haven't been watching any Desi stuff other than the occasional movie here or there (and mostly not bollywood), so Dahaad is one of those things I put on my watch list, but am not currently in the headspace for.
Neverrrrrr everrrrrrr apologize for asking for help/comfort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like yes, the words may not be perfect, and my replies sure as hell will never always make it all better, but that's the human experience babyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy *Coach Beard from Ted Lasso voice*

May
hello friends! sorry i am late because i had so much going on by the end of May/start of June including end of semester exams that i completely forgot to write a post in time (typical me lol) but worry not, May post is gonna be filled with so many stories!!!
so for this May i'd like to nickname it as Full of Friends May Mayhem because i felt so happy throughout the entire May as i spent lots of quality time with my best friends and experienced many exciting new things 🥺💙
first up, watching How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies หลานม่า with soon-to-be doctor, Chintia! it's been long since i saw her because we were both very busy, me with school and her with finishing med school national competency exams... we had lunch together and spent literal hours chatting about anything and life updates. then we watched หลานม่า to see Billkin and Tu in action - they were amazing actors! the film itself was great, it made me miss my grandma so much, but i'm familiar with grief that i only cried a bit at the ending. the scores are heavenly but i still can't find it anywhere online huhu
next is Ortho Ul's social charity and gathering at Bali! this will be my second time joining a department event but first time to have it in such big scale (every resident from every active year, all lecturers, staffs, and even alumni joined the trip!) and it was awesome!!! 3 days and 2 nights filled with fun, really! day one we had the social charity at a junior high school in Kuta and then a 4-hour bus ride to Menjangan (where our resort is located!) day two was for snorkeling session (that i bailed out because i was worried my thalassophobia would be triggered) and i spent time island hopping instead! day three was our journey back to Denpasar and then flight to Jakarta. our schedule was sooo packed and we lacked sleep but enjoying the time together was priceless experience. on day 2 we got to showcase our 'talent' and did a short musical as an introduction of us the new recruits 😂 i remember eleven of us still making time to rehearse for the musical between so many assignments and projects and other duties... as the gathering has pirate as the theme, i made sure to incorporate Petualangan Sherina soundtracks and also pirate themed film scores, i wrote the screenplay, and designed some of the choreos. and it all came together nicely with our lecturers praising our performance 🥺
third is Ortho Ul 2018-2019 graduates' farewell lunch! this one was so enjoyable as well, our recently graduated orthodontists seniors treated us lunch at Park Hyatt hotel, i tried and loved all the food 🤭 there were also game and photo sessions, i feel so welcomed into this huge family 🥺 honestly getting into postgrad feels like entering a whole new world, so many new people, new connections, unexpected but still pleasant surprises!
these days i find it extremely easy to find happiness wherever i go, in whatever i do, and with whoever i'm with... no matter how trivial things can always find its way to put a smile on my face 😂 getting consecutive green lights on the way to school, arriving on time at the MRT platform as the train came, finding cool shades under the trees, spending time with my classmates even though while being under so much pressure, finding new film scores albums with 10/10 tracks, the feel of the wind on my face every time i ride back home, days filled with laughter and tranquility and calmness, discovering my old passion for kdrama (you all NEED to watch Lovely Runner, and meet my daughter Kim Hyeyoon and my son Byun Wooseok the loveliest people ever), interacting with my international mutuals, my fav songs came on shuffle, trying good food at new places, coldplay new era is coming!!! life is full of wonder, alhamdulillah...
things i've never dared to dream are approaching, and i'm super excited of what's to come (lots!!!) the best is yet to come insyaAllah 🤩 i hope life is also as beautiful as it is to you, my friends. see you on the next post! 💙

oh really? i think it might've started from my anime days i always loved anime characters in glasses and it just crossed over to all forms of media 🤣 whenever they make a character take them off i'm like no put them back on! 😂
i understand being critical with kdramas i am too especially this year a lot of kdramas have fallen flat for me in the second half 😭 i tend to go into all dramas with no expectations & most of the time i don't really know what i'm going in to watch i love not knowing about the plot or anything 🤣 since i mostly watch for certain actors (it makes my drama viewing experience so much more enjoyable since 90% of the time i can't be disappointed, but i won't lie i'm very easy to please at the same time 😂)
have to agree with you on joseph zeng i'm glad mysterious lotus casebook introduced me to him (that's why i ended up watching RoTF) & how could you not be ??? that man is so 🥰🥰🥰🥰
you also watched Warm on A Cold Night?? i loved that drama! i've been with bi wenjun since his idol producer days 🥹 so i watched that for him & i loveeed BFTB too another ending that left me a bit annoyed — userdramas secret santa 🎄
From my anime days I was always a sucker for a white haired man. I blame Inyuasha T_T.
I think its because kdramas take themselves a bit more seriously and is comparable to western standards. Whereas cdramas are a bit more loose (prob because of the limitations/censorship).
I think many kdramas started falling flat for me like 2020.. IDK it was a weird shift? maybe. I can't explain it. Maybe it's because I haven't seen my favorite setting in a WHILE. I miss medical dramas. There's been some but not enough lol. IDK. Maybe next year will be better for both you and me!
I WISH I could go in no expectations but I always do. That would be a much better watch. I don't usually watch dramas solely for actors. I have to like what the plot is about. Even if I love the actor, I wont watch if it has tropes I don't like. I wont say I'm difficult but I'm not easy either lol.
No he really isssss. He has such a pleading face. IDK. He always looks like he cares so much. AHH. I'm just... he's so cute!
Yesss I loved Warm on a Cold Night! I was just a bit disappointed by how oblivious they made the female lead for so long. The ending was alright, but I wasn't 100% happy with it. But I enjoyed so much of it. My first drama of his was (tech Sweet Tai Chi but I didn't finish it only watched like once episode so I don't count it) Sweet Teeth. I thought they looked so good together.
BFTB--ALL Fantasy dramas end like this basically and it drives me CRAZY.

Lol I loved that you answered my ask with a whole essay! I read all of it and I'm smiling and chuckling while reading. Thanks so much for sharing.
I also wanna share I've been ARMY since Feb 2017 coz I fell in love with Spring Day. I didn't care I only knew Tae and Joon back then, I declared myself army lol
I knew of Tae since Dec 2016 coz I saw him on Hwarang ( a kdrama) I was like WHO IS HE? HE'S SO CUTE! And then forgot about him for a while. Also one of my friends was army since 2013, she used to talk to me about Bangtan and I'd just pretend I was listening lol
And then Feb 2017 I was already army and on April 2017 I find myself staring at Jin's picture I couldn't sleep lol and then I also liked Yoongi and so fascinated by Jimin lol
There was a certain point when I feel like I have 4 biases in Bangtan and I call them TaeJinYoonMin lol
And then mono was released in 2018 and I fell in love with Namjoon but it wasn't until 2020 that I admitted I'm a TaeJoon double-biased
And then Idk 2021 and I find myself being drawn towards JK and now hahaha I'm finally admitting I'm a JK biased
lol i'm glad that didn't annoy you!!
thanks for sharing your story too! wow, you've been around a long time!! i honestly wish i had been in the fandom a lot longer. if i could go back in time i'd join in right away! i never got like a full comeback or anything you know? and i got into it as stuff was starting to end... run bts ended... they stopped being able to do bon voyage... enl*stment started... i believe them when they say they'll be back in 2025 but... i still wish i'd been around for some of the earlier years and fan experiences!
i know about hwarang but i haven't watched it! i feel like he talked about struggling during shooting and getting yelled at a lot and i just feel like it would make me sad to watch bc in my mind i'd be thinking "he was having a hard time during this"
four biases is what i call a "bias Unit" hahahaha i'm starting to get into svt a tiny bit and i'm trying not to end up with a unit there lol. ugh taejoon is a GREAT bias line. i love how they interact, too. vmon is a great friendship combo.
thanks for coming to talk to me today! this was really fun! <3

alive
hey yall! im alive! i know i promised a social media au, buttt that will have to wait, cause im stumped. school plus work been crazy, but i currently have a series idea that i wanna do:
i was watching the kdrama reply 1988 and i got it spoiled, so i cried when i found out about [redacted] so i will be starting this series as comfort for myself lol
obviously it is an x reader and will be “reply early 2000s” (not my title lol) instead of reply 1988. i was born in 2003 so i will be using my own life experiences as inspiration for chapters/ scenes since i feel like my life is a good source of life in the 2000s. but since i was raised in the united states it will be a bit american centered. plus i am a latin immigrant myself, so there may be refrences of latin culture (i dont think i’ll make the reader hispanic. i am thinking about it though) i want everyone to enjoy it as much as a possible.
obviously there will be mentions of things we all experienced such as poptropica or chuck e cheese or wtv, but just a heads up since i am my own source right now lol.
it will be ot8 and may end with different endings if the reader ends up with one of them, im not sure yet! i was thinking on simply leaving it as a memoir (kinda) to childhood (since im gonna be 20 this year) and want to keep the simplicity of platonic love, because its something that i really admire about ateez themselves!
please feel free to send requests about things i should write about!

12/31/22
2022 was probably the adult year that’s had the least direction so far. I knew I would finish my masters in about a year and Korea could only last three months because of the visa, but I had no idea how much I’d have to prepare to find a new job.
I won’t say this was my favorite year so far, but I definitely can’t say it was bad. My role at my current company completely changed after I got the new job offer, I put a huge emphasis on personal fitness, took my family to Korea, and I’m getting better at stepping on arrows at the arcade. But all my investments tanked (thanks economy), I was injured for over half the year, I paid a huge mental tax forcing myself to study for interviews, and Gyuri left the group.
Favorite moment of the year
I want to be able to look back on a year and remember at least one moment where I felt truly happy. I definitely should have at least one moment or I try hard enough to push myself out of my comfort zone and experience it.
This year’s moment is definitely going to be the the first night of the fromis concert when Nakyung teased Hush Hush. She put her hand on her ear to make us scream louder, and then when she put her index finger over the lips, the whole arena was dead silent, and then you could hear the song starting to play. Not only is Hush Hush my favorite b-side of the year, but also they’ve never performed it before so I’m never going to forget that rush of adrenaline when I saw the stage for the first time.
To make up the previous years:
2021: Climbing up Namsan tower and overlooking Seoul during my three month stay
2020: Staying up and hearing Feel Good for the first time after the 15 month hiatus
2019: Seeing fromis_9 perform in Washington Square Park, where I could finally meet them for the first time and they could hear me screaming the fanchants
2018: Getting accepted into my master’s program (I couldn’t pinpoint a single moment when I completely fell into fromis)
2017: Clicking on GFriend’s Neverland on YouTube, which made me fall into kpop and start learning Korean
Kpop and Korea really are what make me happy lol. I hope everyone has something that makes them feel this way.
Milestones
Gained the skills to find a new job (leetcode, how to interview)
Learned how to lift weights (at 125lbs, 135lb squat, 105lb bench press, 190lb deadlift, 65lb shoulder press)
Gained 10lbs
Took my family to Korea for two weeks
Can play 14s in DDR
Kdramas watched:
그림자 미녀 (Shadow Beauty)
그해 우리는 (Our Beloved Summer)
사내 맞선 (Business Proposal)
사랑의 불시착 (Crash Landing On You)
I want 2023 to be another year full of improving myself. If I want a blanket goal, I want to present myself as the best version of my self possible (physically), which means getting my body in shape and dressing well. If I can gain some more muscle, rehaul my wardrobe, and keep my skin clear, I think I can do just that.
Goals for 2023
Continue working out (no exact target, but I want to improve on all four of the big 4 lifts and not hurt myself)
Gain another 10-ish lbs
Put together 20+ outfits for different situations
Be open to meeting new people
Give myself more headspace to try new activities with friends
Get a 900k on a real 17 in DDR

I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING. This is happening especially in Western media, where there are practically no new stories and ideas, only franchises, remakes, subsequent installments of the same series with new characters, spin-offs, I heard they probably make new Harry Potter films! Because something sold once, so they repeat it, instead of investing the money in something new and innovative.
Personally, I'm not surprised at all by the popularity of, for example, kdramas, because in my case alone I can say that the ONLY innovative series I have watched in the last 5 years, that showed new ideas and even old genres, such as mystery, dystopia, high school, or cop drama showed in new, incredibly interesting versions, they all came mainly from Korea.
When it comes to BLs, sometimes I have the impression that so many producers stopped at the incredible popularity of 2gether 😀, forgetting that this series was popular because it was probably the first series to be so widely available and recognized. Still, BL series are not afraid to experiment, but you can definitely SEE which creators know what the masses REALLY want, plus they are brave and uncompromising - and yes, Saint is a master at this. SCOY and The Sign break patterns and reach viewers hungry for interesting and non-standard stories.
After the huge success of KinnPorsche, I thought there would be more series with adult themes, crime, etc. And yet, Thailand went towards mass production of series that tbh were lost in the mass of other similar series without leaving much of an impression or even being remembered. BUT, I still have to defend BL, that even the hundredth high school BL series is often still better than most of the shit produced in the West 😋 More than once I watch an avarage Thai BL series and I am amazed by the commitment and professionalism of often very young actors. BL series, despite their repetition, are still able to sell us REAL EMOTIONS and draw us into their often silly stories, and for this alone, I will forgive them everything.
That being said, I am incredibly grateful for The Sign, which feels so new, creative, interesting and excellent in every way 💖
And I'm looking forward to all the new series, give me vampires, heist, crime, horrors... an yes, even Cherry Magic remake lol
Taking a break from squeeing over all this juicy stuff on my dash for a moment, I have to say that what both Saint & YinWar are doing here is really important for the creative side of QL.
Let's be clear, most media executives are not creative people. They may have some business acumen (though most I think fake it quite a bit), but a vast number are incapable of understanding what it feels like to be creative, or how to connect with the people (us) who engage with creative material in any kind of passionate way.
Which is why they so often make decisions like "this college BL was cheap to make and did well - let's make 20 more". It's why they keep adapting books that fit pre-established norms while ignoring the vast number of QL books in other genres. It's why they so often will only take a "risk" once it's already been proven profitable by some smaller more independent enterprise. It's why they are chomping at the bit to replace writers with AI (I hate calling it that, it's not remotely intelligent), because they truly don't see the difference between an algorithm and a human being. Both can produce "content" and that's what they care about.
Now I'm sure that part of YinWar making Jack and Joker is because they want to play in something cool & fun (get it boys!), but also they're no dummies. Partner in Crime was a test, and they saw how the people reacted.
Same with Saint. Each series pushes the QL bubble open a little bit wider, because he understands that despite what most executives think, we as viewers are not a mindless monolith that you can endlessly feed the same content to.
And vitally, what they get and most executives don't, is the FANDOM of it all. They know we want to pour over gifs & photos, and swoon over this sexy moment, and talk about that cool bit of action. We want to be fed.
We're not subtle about what we like. If you take the time to actually pay attention to us
The ironic thing is that I think both of these productions are going to do very well, and then more executives will jump on the genre bandwagon and recycle ideas, without understanding just what it is that makes us so feral for these particular properties.
But in the meantime, I am grateful for creative people who fight to make their own content. How much more colorless our world would be without them.

To You, The Person Who I Fell In Love With
A/N: This has been stuck on my drafts for a while now lol. Writing this was fun but also hard since I never received a proper love letter before. This fic revived my hopeless romantic heart >///<
Did I just use another 'Goblin' reference in this fic? Yes. Yes, I did and you can't stop me.
Pairing: Satan x GN!Reader
Genre: Fluff
Summary: The fourth-born left a letter on your table before you return to the human world.
Warning: Spoilers for the Kdrama.
MASTERLIST
"Mass is not proportional to volume.
A girl as small as a violet. A girl who moves like a flower petal is pulling me toward her with more force than her mass.
Just then, like Newton’s apple, I rolled toward her without stopping until I fell on her, with a thump. With a thump.
My heart keeps bouncing between the sky and the ground.
It was my first love."
- Kim In Yook, Physics of Love 사랑의 물리학
Do you remember this passage? It was featured in that drama you recommended to me before. I enjoyed it very much, even though the two main characters' love story was tragic and the ending was a cliffhanger.
Somehow, the show's last episode reminded me of how fleeting human lives are compared to the lifespans of demons and angels. It was painful watching the male lead mourning the death of his bride. And I thought, "Would we experience the same grief the male lead experienced if you died? Would I feel that same sorrow he felt when he saw the soul of his loved one leaving the living realm?" And as I pondered over that question, I realized how quickly time can pass without you noticing. And if I let my opportunities pass without doing anything, I might never get the chance to do it again and regret it for the rest of my life.
Tonight marks the last night of your stay here in the Devildom. Can you believe that a year had already passed since your arrival here as an exchange student?
I know our relationship began with a rocky start, and I have to admit that I did hold you with no importance before.
But as time goes on, I got to know you better, and slowly, my impression of you changed. You were no longer 'just some human' to me. I felt that you were now someone who I hold dearly in my life, and every moment in my life with you became precious to me. Before I knew it, I already have fallen in love with you.
Being born from someone's wrath, other things like affection are something foreign to me. I read countless descriptions of the emotion in the novels I have read in the past, but I have never encountered it firsthand. That is until I met you. Funny, the old me would never dream of saying this to someone, but here I am, writing this letter for you.
You'll be returning to the human world tomorrow, and we won't be seeing each other for a while, but that doesn't mean we won't meet again. I'm sure of that. I promise, no, I will make sure that this won't be our last goodbye. Who knows, maybe someday, I'll be the one who would come to the human world to see you.
Until we meet again.
Yours always,
Satan
