Appalachia is a distinct area and culture from the rest of the southern US. it is a LOT further left than most of its neighbors. IE: it's mostly mines and other hard laborer so the unions in Appalachia are VERY strong
people on this website will just go on here and say things.

⭐️ You know, if Leroux was writing and publishing the Phantom of The Opera in the newspaper in 2009 instead, we'd be getting our very first movie adaptation this year, lol

Happy New Year from 1925.
While the details of the fashions are interesting (Note that Princess Leia hair on the central woman -- not everyone in the 1920s bobbed their hair!) and the party looks pretty advanced in the festivities, mostly I feel sorry for that poor little kid on the table.

1925 cover for The Country Gentleman magazine Art By William Meade Prince
Image depicts a young boy fast asleep in a rocking chair with a quilt over his shoulders. He is in pajamas and is holding a noisemaker. To his right, a dog is curled up asleep. More noise makers are on the floor. The clock on the table to the boy's left reads just past 12:00, him sleeping through the celebration peacefully.
