oh my, oh my. I adored your fics where reader is smitten over reid with his glasses and then where reid is smitten with reader in her glasses! can I request something similar with hotch, where he's the one flustered - or, at least, his reaction lol - by reader wearing her glasses for the first time? <3
thank you for your request <3 fem
“Hotch, can I ask you something?”
He hadn’t heard you knock, lost in thought behind his desk, and he knows you won’t begrudge him for failing to look up. “Of course,” he says.
“I went to the eye doctor a few days ago and everything was fine, but she said my contacts are gonna keep degrading my eye health, apparently, if I keep wearing them. Do you think I could wear my glasses in the field?”
Hotch takes a moment for your asking to catch up with him, desperately printing the last of his thoughts into a consult note. He makes a spelling mistake in his rush. Frowning, he crosses it out and corrects it neatly. “Uh, you want to start wearing glasses in the field?”
“Yeah. Do you think that would work?”
“I don’t see why not.” He stops himself firmly, before he can call you honey. Hotch doesn’t want to patronise or condescend you even in his thoughts, but he has to remark to himself that you sound adorably over-concerned. “Reid picks and chooses when he wears his own glasses, and he’s never…”
He’d finally managed to tear his gaze from his desk and found you standing further away than he’d thought, in a black pencil skirt that flares out gently at the end like a flower bulb, a neat shirt with a triangular collar showcasing just a slip of your chest and the small silver necklace you wear. None of this is unusual, Hotch is used to finding you charming and lovely by now, it’s the glasses that shock him. He hadn’t realised you’d actually be wearing them.
They’re not thick nor too thin, simple black frames made of a translucent plastic. They’re glasses like any other, and Hotch can’t diagnose his own reaction to it. Perhaps it’s how they sit on your nose, or the cutesying effect they give your expression. They make your eyes look a little darker than usual. They’re everything.
“Hotch?” you ask.
“He’s never had any problems,” Hotch finishes, ever so slightly breathless, his hands falling to his thighs.
“They look stupid.”
“What?”
You raise the back of your hand to your cheek and press it there with fingers curled loosely inward, “I know they look silly, I haven’t worn them in a while, but my eyes hurt everyday with those contacts, no matter how much saline I use–”
“No,” he says. He stands, and he swallows against nothing. It’s embarrassing for his age. “They don’t look silly. You should wear whatever makes you most comfortable.”
“I knew they looked silly,” you say again, turning toward the door. “Sir, you just stared at me. I never should’ve let Spencer tell me they looked cute.”
“They do look cute,” Hotch says, rounding his desk. He stands in front of it rather than crowd you at the door.
He isn’t unaware of his own influence. His moving has stopped you from leaving. His compliment, especially one far from his usual professionalism, sticks you like a flytrap.
“You look just as nice with them as you do without them,” he furthers. “I’ve never seen you wear them before.”
“Well, I was always underwhelming, growing up. I didn’t think glasses helped.”
“Underwhelming?” he asks.
You smile like you’ve caught him. He doesn’t like to be caught, and he turns away to pretend to look for something, but he’s saved by another presence on the landing.
“Oh my god,” Morgan says, looking you up and down with an affirmative, sweet appreciation. Morgan might make a show of it sometimes, but he’s genuine as he continues, “Sweetheart, what am I gonna do with you?”
“They’re not strange?” you ask.
“Is that what the boss man said?”
You look back at Hotch bashfully, and that look alone catches him all over again. Morgan watches through the doorway and he knows he’s doomed —Hotch’s feelings are, for that split-second, plain as day.
“He didn’t say they were strange, no,” you say gently.
Hotch wonders if he should insist on contacts after all. “They’re suitable for every day.”
“Suitable,” Morgan says.
Hotch gives him a you’re-pushing-it squint and everyone decides they have things to be doing, leaving him alone to panic. (He doesn’t panic, he’s not the type, he just remembers your new look and feels his heart give irregular pangs a few times an hour for the rest of the afternoon.)

YOU WERE STANDING IN the mirror applying the last of your makeup— a little blush here, a little lipgloss there— when your girlfriend barged into the bathroom. She was already dressed, her makeup was done, hair was flawless, her phone charged and ready to go. She stared at you with narrow eyes.
"This is why we're late everywhere," she groaned, gesturing to the curling iron that was still hot and plugged in, and the makeup that was scattered around the sink.
"Well sorry not everyone wakes up as sexy as you," you mumbled absently, carefully lining your lips. "I need time."
"You need time management," she corrected.
You frowned and stood up straight, capping the liner and slipping it into your makeup bag. "Y'know you're one to talk, you get ready on time once and all of a sudden we're behind schedule because of me, you've got some nerve girl." When you were met with silence, you glanced at her to find her eyes on your chest. "Hello?"
Her eyes snapped up to yours, "Hm?"
"You're not even listening! You're just staring at my boobs," you accused her, gently poking her chest with your pointer finger.
"Can you blame me? I mean— they jus' sit so good in that shirt."
You playfully rolled your eyes, shutting off the bathroom light and leaving her alone in the darkness. She followed after you.
"You're gonna wear it outside?" she asked, now looking at your ass as you walked into the kitchen.
"Yes? Is that a problem for you?" you challenged.
"No," she scoffed, "Hell no. Would it look better in the house with some lil panties on? Probably. But, I can't stop you."
"You're right, you can't. So, let's go."
"I'LL TAKE THE PULLED PORK SANDWICH."
Paige had suggested taking a break in your errands and going to lunch. It didn't take much convincing, you hadn't eaten all day. You had had an odd craving for barbecue and ended up at a popular spot not too far from your apartment.
The waiter nodded at you, and then turned to Paige. "And for you?"
Paige didn't answer, her eyes glued to your cleavage as you shifted around in your seat. She had been unapologetically staring at day, lips parted, breathing heavy, an absolute wreck. Even now, with the waiter standing patiently as he waited for her to order, she couldn't bring herself to focus. He cleared his throat to no avail.
Finally noticing the way her attention was clearly on the wrong thing, you snapped your fingers in front of her face. "Paige."
"What?" she frowned, leaning back.
"Order your food."
"Shit, yeah." She quickly scanned the menu, "I'll take what she got, and you could bring out another shirley temple?"
"Sure thing," the guy nodded, flipping his notepad closed, taking the menus, and walking away.
"Dude you're a mess," you whispered, "Get yourself together, we're in public."
"So I can't admire my girlfriend in public?"
"I didn't say that, but you could at least pretend to be respectful about it," you said, laughing as you went to take a sip of your drink.
Paige shook her head, "Just wait 'till we get back home."
"YOU LOOK SO FUCKIN' GOOD RIGHT NOW," Paige murmured, hands behind her head as she leaned back on the couch. You had slowly pulled down your pants, taking your panties with them. Left in nothing but your urban outfitter top, you climbed on top of Paige's lap. Her hands instinctively went to your hips, sensually rubbing up and down. "Want you on my thigh."
"Oh!" you laughed out as you effortlessly moved you onto one of her legs, you bit your lip at the contact her thigh made with your core. "Take your sweatpants off..."
"Nuh uh," she smirked, "wanna see the mess you make." She glanced down at the wet spot on her light gray sweats from where she had just moved you. "C'mon mama, ride it."

🎙️ Sora Says: CHAT! I worked really hard on this (took multiple breaks from being distracted by Lucy Dacus) and I think it turned out kinda good! Please don’t kill me if this is super dark. 😭 I just think I’m into some weird shit and in turn, this appears out of the works! I wanted to release something with all the free time I had so this is it! Okay damn lemme stop rambling.. YIKES!!!
W/C: 1.7K
Running through the thick, luscious forest and taking in its greenery, you only had one goal in mind — outrun Abby before she gets you. Adrenaline pumps through your veins in a way it never had before. It was exciting on both ends; Abby giving you a head start while slowly creeping up on you, and you trying to escape her grasp.
Leaves crunch under your shoes as you run, your legs screaming in pain as you huff with effort. You take a second to catch your breath, leaning against a large willow tree while the forest continues making sounds around you. The hum of crickets, the chirps of some other animals and the faint flow of water combines and makes a beautiful sound — almost a perfect juxtaposition of the predicament you were in.
Tumblr media
The tranquility didn’t last long as you heard heavy footfall behind you. Every sense in your body screams for you to run. So your body moves on autopilot, bolting off in another direction.
Abby gets a thrill from the chase, a slight hint of amusement appearing on her face as she breathes somewhat heavily.
Though you’d been two steps ahead of the girl, she was faster. Her big arms wrap around you, bringing you in her clutch as you pretend to struggle.
“Quit fucking squirming. Don’t pretend you don’t want this.” Abby barks, holding you tightly. “Leave me alone!” You shout. “Oh but baby, you wouldn’t want that would you?” She retorted. You stay silent. “That’s what I thought.”
Abby then pushes you to your knees, before walking behind you. “Gotta ensure you don’t run from me now. I’d be really sad if you ran from me.” Her belt comes undone before she pulls it off.
With an agonizingly slow pace, she bounds your hands behind your back. She pulls the belt extra tight before walking back infront of you. The bulge in her cargo pants was definitely prominent and it made you salivate.
She takes notice of the expression on your face and she smirks slightly. A hand comes down to slightly caress your face. “I’m gonna fuck your throat and you’re gonna take it like a good girl. Got it?” She asks, somewhat sharp in tone.
You nod, of course, and she wastes no time to pull off her boxers and pants. Her fingers slowly intertwine with your hair, grabbing into a makeshift ponytail. Your mouth opens without her even having to tell you to do so.
She started off slow, listening to each sound as she slowly worked its length into your mouth. She groans as if she can feel it. She wishes she could. “Takin’ it so fucking good for me baby.” She mumbles under her breath between breaths and moans.
She becomes absolutely feral for it, seeing you on your knees like this, taking her cock so good. How could she not wanna do nasty shit to you?
“Gonna cum down your stupid fucking throat, yeah, ‘n you’re gonna fucking take it for me, baby.” Abby speeds up her pace, feeling some kind of euphoric feeling. Could she have just cum from this sight alone? Probably. Hell, she might even do that right now.
The occasional bump on her clit from her strap was only moving her to go slightly faster. “Look like such a whore on your knees like this. Cryin’ for me and shit.” She spat, tossing her head back. Tears pricked in the corners of your eyes as the strap hits the back of your throat, causing you to gag slightly.
Abby looks down at you before she slightly smiles. “So pretty crying for me.” She seems to be getting a kick out of seeing you cry for her. And you were definitely certain of it when her breathing became faster and her moans got higher.
She was about to cum, and god was she close. With a few more harsh thrusts, she’d made a mess of herself. “Take my cum down that pretty throat.” She grumbles. Yet again, she tosses her head back as the aftershocks of her orgasm pass through her body.
But she was far from done. She stands you up, before leaning in to kiss you. It was hungry, it was needy, and it definitely made you moan and whine into her mouth. Her tongue intruded into your mouth, sliding against yours before she pulled away.
Opening your mouth with her thumb against your bottom lip, she instructed you to stick your tongue out. From there, she spits in your mouth.
“Go ahead and swallow it for me.” She says, harshly patting your cheek. You swallow it eagerly. You look her in the eyes all needy and she knows it. She knows you’re probably soaking wet right now.
“You need to be fucked don’t you baby?” She asks, cocking her head to one side. “Really bad, Abby.” You whine. A dark look twists itself onto her face. “Beg for it. Be nice and loud for me. And tell me exactly where you need me.”
It was embarrassing in a way to do this. She always made you do this. “Cmon, you know what I need. Just give it to me.” You say while looking up at her. “No, I don’t. You gotta tell me. Can’t read your mind.” Abby responds, chuckling at how needy you are. “So stupid and needy that you can’t even tell me what you need. How sad.” The faux sympathy was hard to ignore.
“Need you inside me. I wanna be filled up by you. I want your cock so bad, Abby. Please.” You whine yet again. “There she is. I knew you had it in you.” She coos.
Abby then proceeds to manhandle you, pushing you onto the ground with your ass in the air, and now she’s on her knees behind you. Your back forms a deep arch as she yanks your pants down.
The click of her switchblade could be heard behind you. It makes your heart race with anticipation. The cool steel of the blade makes contact with your exposed thigh. Slowly, she drags it up and up. It causes you to squirm. “Keep still. Don’t wanna have to make you bleed.” She instructed.
The blade finds itself under the fabric of your underwear. Abby drags the blade up until the fabric rips. The now torn fabric falls off your body, exposing your wet cunt.
“Look at her, she’s crying for me.” She teased, taking in the sight. She continued dragging her switchblade across your inner thighs until you were whining for her.
“Abby please. I dont wanna be teased anymore.” You say, almost crying from how bad you need it. Abby shushes you. “Lemme have my fun first.”
It feels like she’d been teasing you for what felt like hours before you finally heard shifting behind you. Abby spits on her hand before coating her strap in it. She drags her cock against your slit, listening to your desperate little whines.
When she notices you trying to push yourself down onto it, she harshly slaps your ass, making you whine loudly. “Nuh uh princess, wait till I give it to you.” She said while rubbing the spot she’d smacked. Now she makes you wait even longer before she pushes it into you. At first she doesn’t move.
She’s still as if she’d been calculating her next move. When you’d least expected it, she begins thrusting slow and deep. You moan loudly, your hands balling into fists, making crescents on the palms of your hands.
Her hands smooth over the globes of your ass before returning to your hips. “Faster please. I need it.” You say between moans. “Beg me properly.” She growls, keeping her pace steady.
“Please fuck me harder and faster, miss. I need it really badly. I wanna cum for you.” You whine out. “That’s a good girl.” Her thrusts pick up in speed, as you asked. She reached a hand around to vigorously rub your clit.
You’re whining and gasping, almost screaming her name while she continues fucking you. She’s hitting your g-spot and you feel like you’re in heaven.
A string of curses fall from your lips, ragged and broken, as she continues with her unrelenting pace. “Yeah? You needed it all hard like this. Anyone could just walk past and hear how fucking loud you are.” Abby says, grunting slightly. The idea was thrilling. Absolutely thrilling to the both of you.
She gives your ass another smack. “Goddamn baby, you hear how wet this pussy is for me? And she’s sucking me in? This pussy was just made for me, wasn’t it?” She sounded absolutely feral for you. “Yes! It’s all yours— fuckfuckfuck, feels s’good!” You moan, your eyes rolling back slightly. “Damn right its all mine. You belong to me and nobody else.”
Wet squelching fills Abby’s ears, taking over her senses. She’s absolutely pussy drunk from you. She couldn’t get enough. She looks down at you, cursing softly.
“Taking it so good for me. Making such a mess all over my cock baby.” She mumbles under her breath. She, at this point, wishes she could feel you. The way you were begging for her to cum inside of you encourages her movements.
Going faster, she watches you get dumber and dumber. Your moans are significantly louder and your babbling. “‘M so close Abby! Please don’t stop. Wanna cum for you.” You moan loudly, and she groans. Her pussy was soaking again. You’d made her this way.
“Gonna make you go stupid for me.” She promises. Your hands ball up tighter while your orgasm builds up in your stomach.
“I’m cumming! Don’t fucking stop!” You say, screaming almost. “Cum for me then, pretty girl.” Abby says softly.
The orgasm washed through your body as you came all over her. Your legs shake slightly as she helps you ride through your orgasm. Your chest rises and falls as you moan.
She takes the belt off of your wrists before she pulls out, looking at the mess between your legs.
“What a messy bitch.” She says, then going in to clean you up with her tongue. You were still quite sensitive, everytime her tongue grazed over your clit you mewled out and squirmed. “Gotta clean you up baby, keep still for me.” She whispers. She laps at your cum, savoring the taste and letting out little moans. Once she’d had enough, the two of you take a second before getting up.
She was far from done with you, and you knew that you. That’s why she hauls ass back to her car while holding your hand. You look down at her back pocket, seeing your torn underwear. Your face heats up, but you pretend not to notice. Abby was already saying what she planned to do to you when you’d arrived back home.

Eddie’s queer awakening Part 2 | Part 1
Steve doesn’t know what else to do to make Eddie realize he likes him. Never in his life has he had to work this hard at winning someone over. Never.
Even with Nancy in high school, there was always a hint that she wanted him to chase her, which made it worthwhile. Sometimes, Eddie will do something that makes Steve sure he feels the same, flirting back. Then Eddie will do something that makes Steve not so sure, laughing it off.
Steve doesn’t like resorting to bullshit queer stereotypes because he doesn’t exactly fit them either, but Eddie looks like those rugged guys on his posters and album covers. Sometimes it feels like a masculinity performance worthy of King Steve, but sometimes it feels genuine.
Eddie’s not dressing like Bowie, but he prances around on cafeteria tables yelling about sodomy and he’s never had a girlfriend that Steve knows of. He could like both, same as Steve, of course. Or it could be nothing, of course. Steve’s just putting all these moves on a straight boy, about to get his heart broken again.
Robin’s given him countless pep talks, assuring him that he’s right about Eddie when he starts to doubt it. “You sniffed Vickie out just from her VHS returns. If anyone has a functional queer detector here, it’s you. Trust it.”
“What if I ask him out and he rejects me?” Steve fully understands Robin’s worries now, it’s not the same as getting shot down by a girl. “I’ve got enough rumors about me already.” They all wanted to say it in high school, calling Steve a pretty boy in tight pants that spent too much time in the mirror.
Tommy used to shoot them all down. Now he’s not by Steve’s side, snarling at anyone who suggests it. Which was mostly just Tommy trying to convince himself that everything they did under the covers at sleepovers was “just guy stuff”, and he convinced Steve too. To the point where Steve hadn’t even considered any different until a few months ago when he told Robin and— yeah, that was an eventful conversation. The first time he stumbled across the word bisexual— from a Bowie interview in one of Robin’s magazines— it felt like something clicked into place.
“I don’t think Eddie’s the type to out anyone, either way.” Robin’s right. She’s not always right, everything would be easier if she was, but she’s right about that.
“I keep having to pretend to like his shitty weed to get him to come over. Not even the yawn and stretch move worked on him. Y’know, this,” Steve demonstrates, stretching an arm above his head and then draping it over Robin’s shoulder. She shrugs him off with a fake gag. “I kept looking at his lips and I thought we were gonna kiss, but he laughed and poked me in the ribs and called me dude.”
Robin listens to all his boy troubles and then they come up with a plan. Steve decides he’s going to come out to Eddie, just put it out there that he likes guys. In a totally platonic way and hopefully that gets the ball rolling the other way, where he tells Eddie he likes one guy in particular and hopes all his Romeo efforts don’t blow up in his face.
So he goes for it. Eddie strolls into Family Video and picks out a movie that Steve’s actually heard of for once. It’s easy for Steve to throw him a smile and invite himself over. “You know this is the closest thing to a romance movie you’ve picked? No way I’m letting you watch this alone, somebody’s gotta hold your hand through the sad ending, looks like it’s gonna be me.”
Several emotions fly across Eddie’s face, landing on overwhelmed disbelief. “I don’t get it, man. How do you not have a girlfriend? You’d be so easy to fall in love with. Hell, I feel like you've made me fall halfway in love with you already. If I was a girl, I’d date the shit out of you.”
It looks like Eddie wants to clap a hand over his mouth as soon as the words leave it.
Steve watches him carefully, trying to think clearly over his heart pounding in his chest because Eddie just said he loves him, kind of. This is it. “Would you still date me as a guy?”
Eddie’s nervous hands jingle with chain bracelets as they tug his hair and hide his face. “You mean, objectively? As a guy would I date another guy? I mean, could I want that? I hadn’t really considered that option until now. Uh. Shit. Wow, this is-”
“Because I would, you know,” Steve jumps to say, as earnestly as he can, needing Eddie to finally know. How could he not know? This is it. Steve didn’t come all this way just to tap out at the finish line. He goes for it. “I’d date you as a guy, Eddie. I’d date the shit out of you, too, just like you are.”
Eddie’s face is flushed now, his eyes wide and swimming with both questions and realizations. Steve snaps out of it for a second, looking around to see the store is thankfully empty, Robin’s still on her break, but this isn’t the place for this conversation.
“Wanna talk about it over the movie tonight?” He offers.
It moors Eddie, he relaxes more and Steve hopes he’s not imagining the faint hint of a smile. “Yeah, that’s— yeah, talk. I can do that.”
“Okay, it’s a date. See you then.” Steve hands over the tape, their fingers brushing and making warmth flutter all through him. He watches Eddie halfway trip out the door, running into it once and pulling on it three times before pushing it open.
Steve can’t stop grinning, thinking about later, determined to tell Eddie he’s already in love with him too.

,,DON’T BE DIFFICULT”
a/n: feel free to request things of rafe or jj, or anybody else! pt is right here
warnings: dark!rafe, no protection (WRAP IT), NONCON/DUBCON, humiliation, threats are made, lying, choking, piv, strong language
summary: rafe is horny at midsummers and he needs somebody to help him, and he finds you, a pogue
Tumblr media
Getting out of the boat, you were just silently following John B and JJ’s lead, hearing them argue about how John B might be messing with Sarah Cameron. You laughed to yourself a bit, then staring at John B crouching down to a bag JJ was carrying, pulling out a gun. Your mouth dropped in surprise, “What the fuck, JJ?”
He stared at you and John B, “Yeah, well, if I get jumped, it’s on you guys,” he said, putting his hands up in the air. You and the brunette looked at each other and sighed, he put the gun back in the bag and carried it. You guys made it up to the party, JJ dressed up as a waiter, you’re dressed up as a Kook, even though it’s obvious you aren’t, and John B dressed like himself, waiting for Sarah at some place.
You were too busy thinking, and eventually lost JJ, having no idea where he was. Panic set in, because you didn’t wanna be left alone since Rafe and his goons were probably out for you guys. Getting picked on by them is not a good thing, at all. They’re so ruthless. You started looking around for anybody who was in your group, but finding nobody.
Nobody except Rafe Cameron, he started approaching you. “Oh, shit,” you muttered under your breath as you started backing away. He called your name and you just pretended you didn’t hear him, trying to get yourself lost into a crowd. All of a sudden, somebody creeped up behind you, and it was Rafe.
“I don’t remember you belonging here, Pogue.” He said, his hands on your waist, you immediately tried to pull off of him, just to be met with a stronger grip on your waist, and all of a sudden, you felt a bulge press against your lower back. You were disgusted, “Rafe, get the fuck off of me.”
He chuckled as he just kept gripping harder and harder, his fingernails digging deep into your skin. You winced in pain, making little ah noises every time he dug deeper. “Rafe, please.” You put your hands on top of his and made a weak but desperate attempt to get them off you. “Don’t be difficult,” he commanded.
You groaned painfully as he spoke, “Help me with my problem, and I’ll leave you alone, yeah?” Rafe loosened his grip and you sighed in relief, looking back at him, “I’m not your personal fucking prostitute, get the hell away from me,” you yelled, being rewarded with a few weird looks from people around you.
When you tried to storm off, he gripped your wrist as tight as he could, “Ow, ow, Rafe, stop!” Rafe then dragged you inside, making his way to the men’s locker room. He opened the door, looking around and finding no one, he loosened his grip, still holding on. You both made your way over to a stall, and he shoved you into it.
Rafe turned to you, “Told you to not be difficult, didn’t I?” he stated sternly. You then made a dumb decision, trying to scream. However, it was quickly cut off with a hand squeezing your airways tightly. You were caught off guard and just stared at him as you put both your hands on his, “R..afe,” you said, it came out as a whisper basically.
“If I let go, you’re not gonna fucking scream, and you’re not gonna fucking talk. Got it?” You nodded the best you could as he let go, you inhaled the deepest breath you felt you ever took in your entire life, as it basically flashed before your eyes. You don’t even know why he was doing this, out of pure horniness? Tears filled your eyes as you looked at him, “Rafe, please, I don’t wanna-“ he quickly cut you off with a slap and turned you around, your back facing him and your face being squished against the wall from his hand.
“God, you.. you just don’t fucking listen, do you?” He said sucking in air as he narrowed his eyes at you, you were just sobbing as you dealt with this whole interaction. Quickly, he took your dress off with ease, leaving it resting at your ankles. Your back was forcefully being arched after your dress was taken off, he slapped your ass, making you wince.
You stayed silent as you took everything he was giving to you, Rafe then slowly slid your panties down to your shins, taking two digits and sliding them up and down your folds, collecting the involuntary wetness. He laughed darkly, “Oh, I thought you didn’t like this? You’re so fuckin’ wet f’me.”
Shaking your head in denial, you knew you didn’t want this, but your body did. You have no idea why you’re so wet, and you just cried in silence as you heard Rafe unbuckling his belt, it was painfully fast, you heard the fabric of his boxers and trousers slide down, and you knew he was ready to take you.
He pushed his tip into your entrance, making you moan in surprise, jolting forward, but Rafe quickly stopped you from moving by placing his hands on your hips. “Don’t move, ‘cause I know for a fact a poor slut like you can’t afford birth control, so it would be a shame if I came in you, huh?” He said, but he said it so normally, you actually wouldn’t be surprised if he’s done this before, but you obeyed what he said, hoping he wouldn’t follow through with what he said if you actually moved.
Rafe moved so swiftly and harshly, thrusting into you like it would be the last thing he would ever do. You moaned loudly, breathing heavily throughout thrusts, he moved his hips so good, and you don’t know why, but you loved this. “Yeah, taking my fuckin’ cock. This is where a filthy Pogue like you belongs, you know it’s right. Let me hear you say it.”
You felt a knot in your stomach about to burst and you knew you were close, “Y..yes, fuck. I belong under you, R..afe.”
He just smiled and laughed quietly, barely audible. “You were just begging and crying for me to stop, what happened to that, hm? Just so desperate for my cock, huh?” You nodded in desperation, about to cum, he just made sloppier thrusts, harder as well. He was hitting every spot you needed him to hit, and you finally felt that knot unravel, your pussy now pulsating around Rafe’s cock as you came.
“Just like that, cum around my cock, like the fuckin’ whore you are, what would your Pogue friends say if they saw you taking my dick like this, huh?” He chuckled at the thought of that, the thought of you crying and wanting him to get off of you.
You felt humiliated by the fact you were taking him so well after begging him to stop. His thrusts got slower and harder, a sign that he was close to his climax, after longer thrusts, he came in you.
Your heart dropped at the feeling of him filling you up, tears filling your waterline, “Rafe, what the fuck did you just do?”
After pulling out, he slapped your pussy, “What? Just did what to your pussy wanted me to do.” he smirked after replying to you. You didn’t dare face him though, but you stopped arching, straightening your back, your body trembled. “Rafe, you have to buy me birth control, I can’t afford it.”
Rafe just looked you up and down, looking at your shaking legs as his cum dripped down them, “Maybe, I’ll have to think about it.” he smirked as he ran his hand through his hair, so it stayed gelled back. You pulled up your panties and dress in silence as he opened the stall door and left, you just hoped he would buy it for you, or you would have to find some way to get it.

My Shorty
Paige Bueckers x fem
Tumblr media
Ice stands up and motions you to get up off of your girlfriend Paige’s lap. You shake your head no, not wanting to be embarrassed on KK’s TikTok live due to your height. The blonde behind you laughs and moves you off of her lap “Come on baby” she whispers.
You walk and stand next to Ice your head only reaching the higher part of her stomach. Everyone starts laughing around you both and you flip them off “Shut up the difference not that bad for real” you say shaking your head. Ice puts her elbow on your head and pretends to start reading comments you shoved her and walk back over to Paige and sitting back on her lap. KK laughs “Thank god Y/n came here because I used to get bullied for being short so thank you Y/n” the 5’9 basketball player laughs as you throw a pillow at her. ”I’m five foot four that’s not even short you guys are just giants like oh my fucking god” you get up and walk to Paige’s room and slam the door. Paige gives KK a look “Come on yall ain’t gotta do all that” the blonde gets up and goes to her room not before giving the live her signature rizz hands and a wink.
You lay on Paige’s bed your head stuffed in the pillow with your hands under it. You went mad at all don’t get it wrong, but it was annoying you how the lives comments were filled with short jokes like most of them weren’t the same height as you or shorter. Paige walks in and closes the door behind her, she climbs on the bed and straddles your hips her hands massaging your back. You turn your head and look at her “I’m sorry for slamming the door” you apologize. Paige shrugs “Baby I don’t care KK is out there telling the live to leave you alone” your girlfriends hands move up to your shoulders.
“Yeah it’s just annoying they point out I’m short for everything I do like it’s not the only thing about me” Paige nods at your words and flips you over so your lying on your back. She kisses you all over your face, you scrunch your nose and grab her cheeks pulling her off of your face “Your so pretty Paigey” the taller girl groans dropping her head into your neck.
“You know I love how your short right? I love how you only reach my chest when I hug you. How I can look over you when you’re standing in front of me so I can protect you. You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen you my shorty” Paige tells you her head leaving on top on your stomach. You blush and kiss her nose before getting up from the bed “I love you my shorty” she says from behind you teasing you. You look at her “I love you too now let’s go back to the living room I’m hungry” you walk back over to the rest of the girls and sit next to KK on the couch.
KK hands you some blueberry TruFru and you smile at her before looking at the live and sticking your tongue out. KK words her arm around your shoulders “Your my bestie westie pookie” you make a disgusting face at her words and try to move away from her but she doesn’t let you. You make a fake scared face “HELP ME FROM THIS GREMLIN” you scream as KK starts tickling you. Azzi grabs your legs and drags you off the couch. You glare at her and she raises her hands in a fake surrender “I saved you” she says shrugging. Narrowing your eyes at her Paige lifts you up picking you up bridle style and sitting down on the couch out of the camera frame.
You lay your head on her chest and look over at Azzi “I’m gonna get you back” you point at her. Aubrey laughs at you “Yeah like you could lift more than twenty pounds” she says your head lifting at this.
“I might be short but I’m strong too” you say getting up. Paige nods and points at you “I have taught her well she is strong not as strong as me but she got little muscles” your girl backs you up. KK stands up and moves the camera so it’s facing you both. You look up at KK confused “Pick me up if your so strong tiny” the player says.
Paige nods “I bet twenty bucks that my girl can pick KK up” she says. Aubrey shakes her head “I bet twenty she can’t” the two girls shake in it before watching you and KK.
You bend your knees and wrap your arms around KK’s thighs. Paige smirks at you “Yeah baby just like that use your knees mama” she cheers you on. You pick KK and she squeals and grabs your shoulders shaking her no over and over “PUT ME DOWN YOU SMURF DOWN DOWN” she yells. You laugh and let her go before flexing at the live showing your small muscles “Told yall I got it like that” you smile and go back over to Paige.
She grabs your hand and you both go back to her room since it is around one in the morning. You lay down on her bed and Paige shuts the lights off and pulls you into her, spooning you. She kisses your neck “I knew you were strong baby. My little shorty” you turn your head to face her moving your body around “I’m your shorty but you’re my tall sexy girlfriend” you kiss her and she kisses back sliding her tongue in your mouth. You pull away and she smiles pulling you down into her chest “Go to sleep baby” Paige starts playing with your hair. Before you both slowly fall asleep you in her arms just how she likes it. Her shorty.

Tumblr media
Seungmin had only planned to spend a quiet night, alone with a movie and some snacks to relax after his stressful week at work. So being dragged by Felix and Changbin to a bar wasn’t really part of his resting schedule. What was even less part of this schedule was stumbling over you, leaning against the counter, and laughing out loud at the jokes some lame guy made. A guy that was obviously flirting with you. A guy you were obviously flirting back with.
It shouldn’t bother him, it shouldn’t even be on his mind. After all, Seungmin was the one who made it clear to you when you started to fuck with each other that you were not exclusive, that he wasn’t ready for a real relationship yet, that you could fuck whoever else you wanted as well as he could. Though, he wasn’t prepared for the way he became completely and utterly addicted to you - to your body, your lips on him, the sounds you made when he was touching you right, your hands on him, your taste, your cunt, everything.
So seeing that other guy that didn’t even know you hated margaritas trying to flirt with you made a kind of anger he wasn’t familiar with boil inside of him. He knew that he should get over it, that he should just let you live your life like he told you to, but something was screaming at him to stop it, to make it clear that you were his. However, a very drunk Felix interrupted his plans to crash on your little date. Just before he could leave, your eyes crossed and you waved at him with a smile that made his insides twist. He didn’t wave back, helping Changbin support Felix’s weight, and he missed the sadness that crossed your eyes for a few seconds.
“- What's happening ? Your new fuck toy can't make you cum ?”
You rolled your eyes at Seungmin as you pushed past him to walk in his apartment. It had been a week since the bar incident, and unlike every other week, he hadn't tried to reach out even once. And you knew Seungmin could be distant and forget about answering your texts sometimes, but never this long. So you just decided to show up at his place, pretty annoyed at him at this point.
“- Is it what this is all about ? You're jealous ?”
Your snarky tone made his jaw clench, your words hitting too close from reality for him not to feel all the rage he had endured that day come back full force, the memories of that guy leaning in and touching your waist still fresh and clear in his mind. The images had been playing again and again in his head, the thought wouldn't leave him alone. Seungmin scoffed, offended, as he watched you get comfortable on his couch.
“- I'm not jealous. You can do whatever the fuck you want.
- Then why did you ignore me all week ?”
Seungmin pretended to be busy as he locked the door, trying to ignore the lump forming in his throat when he thought about you being held and fucked by someone else, by someone that wasn't him.
“- I was busy. That's all.
- Yeah, of course ! You really think I'm gonna buy this ?”
This time, it was anger that rushed through his veins as he made a beeline to you, taking a hold of your jaw, his grip so strong you winced as you looked up at him. His eyes were burning up with a fire that was foreign even for you.
“- Don't test me sweetheart, you know you won't be the one to win. Don't start something you can't finish.”
His tone was harsh, his words and hands rough as he wrapped one of them around your neck to bring you inches apart from his lips, but not letting you get a taste of them. You sighed against his mouth, your resolve crumbling more and more the longer he looked at you like he was going to ruin you.
“- What are you gonna do, uh ? Punish me ?”
Your condescending tone finished to anger him as he grabbed a handful of your hair, tugging on them to guide you to his room and throwing you on the bed, ignoring your complaints as he opened the drawer of his nightstand to get his handcuffs out of them. You gulped at the sight of the all too familiar object, throwing in a fight just for the sake of it as Seungmin attached you to his bed, your arms stretched up.
“- What happened sweetheart ? Cat got your tongue ?”
This time, it was his tone that became condescending as Seungmin started to undress himself, getting rid of his shirt and teasing you by pulling at the waistband of his sweatpants but never pulling them down. Your eyes were glued to his body, barely listening to what he was saying.
“- Shut up…”
Seungmin clicked his tongue disapprovingly as he got something else out of his nightstand.
“- Now, you know that’s not how you’re supposed to talk to me. I think I need to teach you a lesson. Again.”
As soon as your eyes got a glimpse of the vibrator Seungmin was holding in his hands, you knew you were fucked. You looked at him desperately, already pleading with your gaze for him to not do that. But he only chuckled darkly as he threw away your pants and your panties, spreading your legs open despite your resistance.
“- You better listen to me now, if you want to cum at all tonight.”
The threat had you closing your mouth shut and letting him press his thumb harshly against your clit, making you writhe and moan underneath his touch. Seungmin knew how much you liked to have your hands on him, and he knew how bad you wanted him to touch you too, and not some toy. And that was exactly the reason why he chose to handcuff you to his bed and edge you with a vibrator. Maybe it was cruel, maybe you didn’t really deserve that. But Seungmin didn’t care, he needed to get his frustration out, and he was going to do it on you.
He turned on the vibrator to a low setting, pressing it against your clit. You gasped at the sudden contact, your back arching off of the bed and eyes closing shut. And it only encouraged Seungmin to circle your clit with the toy, making the stimulation even more intense for you. Every sound of pleasure that fell from your lips was like music to his ears, but it was still not enough. He needed more, he needed to remind you that you were his.
“- You’re close, uh ?”
You nodded at his words, your moans elevating higher and higher as time passed. He knew how sensitive you were, how easy it was to make you cum once you knew where to touch, where to caress you. While he was still holding the vibrator against your clit, he kept your legs spread open with the other, eyes fixed on the way your hole clenched around nothing, on the way you were getting wetter and wetter by the seconds. And just as you warned him that you were about to cum, Seungmin pulled the toy away, only earning cries of disappointment from your part.
“- You really thought I would let you cum just like that when you’ve been nothing but a brat ? If you want something, beg for it sweetheart.”
Without letting you have any more time to think of an answer or to collect your thoughts, Seungmin increased the settings of the toy before pressing it back down to your clit, watching you struggle against the handcuffs, watching you moan pathetically, watching you gradually break down for him with every orgasm he ripped away from you. And he never once let you have his fingers, complying to thrust the toy in between your soaked folds once he was satisfied with how weak you sounded, with how much of a mess he made of you.
“- P-Please, Minnie… Please let me cum, please, I’m sorry…”
Your moans had morphed into choked sobs by now, tears streaming down your face as you looked up at him, noticing how his eyes were burning with a dark desire to have you at his mercy. And Seungmin was adamant on not letting you cum until he was satisfied with how much you cried, how much you begged, and how many times you said his name.
“- Not yet. I think you need to remember who’s the only one that can make you feel good.”
You whined as Seungmin took away another one of your orgasms. Your whole body was trembling underneath him, your wrists were starting to hurt from the handcuffs, but your main focus was on your release. You could feel and hear how wet you were, and by now, you were so sensitive and swollen from the stimulation of the toy that every little touch made you squirm and whimper pitifully.
“- So tell me, little whore, who’s making you cum the hardest ? Me or that lame guy who doesn’t even know that you like to be treated like a slut ?
- You ! You, it’s you Seungmin ! It’s you, please, please, let me cum…
- That’s right, you’re my slut. Say it.
- I-I’m your slut…”
The delirious state he had managed to get you in paired with your whiny words made a proud smirk creep up on his face as he threw the vibrator away, replacing it by his tongue as he lapped at your juices. Seungmin groaned against your folds as your legs instinctively closed around his head. But this time, he didn’t spread them back open, letting you smother him as he sucked on your clit, pushing two of his fingers deep inside of your cunt, just like he knew you liked it.
“- Cum. Now.”
His command was followed by a string of moans and “thank you”’s as Seungmin feasted in between your thighs. He could claim he only did that because he knew you liked it, he could claim that he wasn’t even jealous, he could claim that he hadn’t cum in his pants just from hearing you say you were his. He could say whatever he wanted but the truth was that he was completely and utterly obsessed with you.

followed (part one)
Tumblr media
words: 1.2k
warnings: stalker (not rafe), violence, rafe beats someone up but the guy is a creep
followed (part one) / accused (part two)
“hey.” you whisper, ducking under the man's outstretched arm as he looks at the various snacks on the shelf. “pretend you know me, please. i'm being followed.”
rafe doesn't really question it, wrapping his arm around your shoulder and smiling down at you, just as a man turns down the aisle.
“there you are, baby!” you put on a big smile, eyes still wide, telling the truth of your feelings as rafe can see how nervous you are. “been looking all over the store for you!”
rafe can see the guy, overdressed in lots of layers of jackets, physically deflates when he sees you're no longer alone and defenseless.
“sorry, babe. i got caught up with the snacks.” rafe laughs, grabbing a random bag off the shelf and dropping it into his basket.
“its okay.” you shake your head. “just happy we're back together.”
rafe keeps you close to him, arm wrapped around your shoulder as the man moves away. you let out a sigh of relief, head tipping forward to rest against rafes chest.
“thank you.” you say before straightening up and taking a step back.
“no problem.” rafe could tell how pretty you were from the moment he saw you, but now that you're not riddled with nerves, he can see that you're gorgeous. he shifts the basket to his other hand as he reaches out. “im rafe.”
“y/n.” you shake his hand, palm still slightly sweaty.
“let me stick with you while you shop, yeah? just in case he comes back.”
“oh my god, i would really appreciate that.” you lay a hand over your chest. “i dropped my basket a couple aisles back when he turned down the same row.”
rafe follows you, keeping his head on a swivel. he knows he can take the guy, he looked on the older side from the brief glance rafe had at him, but that doesn't mean he wants to get surprise attacked.
“i don't have much more that i need to grab.” you explain to rafe, walking just a step in front of him, causing you to turn down the aisle first.
you gasp and back up into rafe when you realize the same man is now hovering over your basket, waiting on you to return to it.
“i got you.” rafe whispers, dropping his basket, causing it to clatter against the floor. the man glares and doesn't back off like rafe was hoping he would.
“back away from my girls shit.” he growls out, dropping his voice.
“oh yeah, what are you gonna do? beat me up and then get arrested? there's cameras everywhere.” the man says, taking a step forward.
rafe is quick to reposition himself to stand in front of you. “and then those same cameras will see you following my girlfriend all over the store. get out before i beat your ass.”
the man looks rafe up and down before rushing away, hopefully finally actually leaving.
“shit.” you let out a whine, causing rafe to quickly whip around to face you, seeing tears welling up in your eyes.
“hey, you're safe now.” rafe says, placing his hands on your shoulders, gently rubbing them. when the tears break loose and slide down your cheeks, he pulls you forward into his chest, allowing you to sniffle until you've got yourself under control.
“sorry.” you laugh awkwardly, wiping away the tears before realize you'd left most of them as a stain on rafes shirt.
“it's okay.” he says. “men who mess with women and kids are the worst.”
you nod in agreement. “i don't know how to thank you…”
“you can thank me by not wasting your tears on that creep, alright?”
you nod as rafe grabs your basket, not handing it to you as he picks up his own. “what else do you need to get?” he asks.
“um, just some snacks.” you follow rafe as he confidently walks through the store.
you finish your shopping together before heading to the checkout. rafe doesn't even let you argue as he pays for what you have in your basket, a little shocked by how much he makeup costs, but he knows it won't dent his bank account.
“shouldn't i have paid for you since you helped me?” you ask as you walk out of the store, glad that the parking lot is lit up with street lights, as the sun has set.
“nah.” rafe just smiles at you. “now where's your car? wanna make sure you get in safe.”
you lead him towards your jeep, watching his muscled arms as he puts your couple bags into the trunk.
“thanks so much. i… i don't even want to think about what would have happened to be if you weren't there.” you take a deep breath.
“hey, don't worry about it.” rafe watches you climb into your car, giving him a small wave before taking off. rafe watches you leave, turning out onto the street before walking to his car.
hes about to pull out of his parking spot himself when he sees a beat up sedan sat in the darkest spot of the lot, right under a burnt out light. rafe squints into the darkness, letting out a growl when his suspicions are right.
he leaves his car, not bothering to sneak as he walks up and taps on the window. the man is disgruntled but rolls it down.
“there's cameras in the parking lot too.” he says.
“yeah, but it's pretty dark right here.” rafe looks around before reaching into the open window, holding the man by the collar while his other fist pummels into him, hitting his face over and over until it's a bloody, bruised mess.
“that'll teach you to never mess with poor defenseless women ever again, fucking creep.” rafe isn't finished yet though as he spits onto the man, taking the keys out of the car and tossing them away, leaving the man to have so scrounge on the ground for them later.
“shit.” rafe turns around to see your car is back in the parking lot, your eyes wide as you watch him from the drivers seat.
rafe wipes the blood off his knuckles onto the guys shirt before walking over to your jeep.
“im sorry you had to see that.” rafe says as you step out, piece of paper in hand.
“it… its okay.” you shake your head. “im glad you did that.” you're not one for violence, but the creep had it coming.
“are you okay?” rafe asks, not sure why you came back, but he's glad to see you again.
you stick your hand out, giving the paper to rafe. “came back to give you my number. can't believe i left without doing that.”
“ah.” rafe smirks. “seeing me beat up that guy didn't make you change your mind?” he sticks the paper into his pocket, knowing he's going to pull it out the second you're gone to save it to his phone then memorize the digits.
“not at all.” you admit, looking down at your feet. “if anything, it makes me like you more.”
“dinner this friday?” rafe doesn't want to wait to plan out your date, needing to know before letting you go when he will see you again.
“that's too far away. how about tomorrow?”
rafe is surprised how forward you are, but grateful for it as he nods. “ill text you.”
“ill be waiting.”

June -
It’s been one week.
One entire week without even so much of a glimpse of that permanently messy head of hair, and god, you hated how much it bothered you. Ears perking up every time you’d catch the cadence of his voice through the receiver of Robin’s cordless phone the few times he called her to check in. Like an unwanted guest who wasn’t taking the hint, his broad shoulders and full pink lips that somehow always look like they need to be kissed haunt your unsuspecting dreams at night.
You hate it, you hate him, and you try not to spiral about why it feels like the opposite.
“We’re going over to Steve’s tonight,” Robin practically hums around a mouthful of fruit loops, completely unaware of you already stewing about the boy whose name just rolled off her tongue this early in the morning.
“What?” You snap, tearing your eyes from the slow pour of the coffee maker in front of you, grouchy and wound up from a dream about his big hands pulling your legs apart so perfect white teeth could nip at the inside of your thighs.
“Steve, you know that guy you told me you’d try and be nice to. The one who’s fixing your car?” Sarcasm drips from her tone as she scoops up another bite, “We’re going to his house.”
Of course.
“That’s cool with me.” You muster up enough effort to twist your lips up into a smile that feels more like a grimace. The smashed rainbow Robin reveals in her mouth when she laughs tells you it is.
“Do me a favor, and never go into acting.” Swallowing loudly, she drops her spoon back into her bowl with a clank. “I do appreciate you trying to pretend like you’re okay with it, though, and in all seriousness, we haven’t gone this long without seeing each other in like, forever. He says you're keeping me hostage.”
“I’m keeping you hostage?!” You scoff with a roll of your eyes, turning your back to finally pour yourself the cup of coffee you’ve waited so patiently for. “He’s the best friend stealer.”
“I’m not going to lie, I think I like you two fighting over me,” she laughs, looking a little too smug for your liking as she brings her empty bowl to the sink, Garfield slippers scuffling across the tile, too lazy to pick up her feet from the floor.
“Yeah, 'cause you’re sick.” A real smile curls up into your cup, inhaling the rich scent into your nose. “What are your plans to torture me with his presence this time?”
Robin narrows her stare at you in a silent warning, pulling herself up to sit on the counter, orange cat covered feet dangling freely as you meet her gaze with softened eyes in a silent apology.
“Eddie’s off tonight, so we’re having a little reunion barbecue, and Steve’s gonna grill.”
Choking on your coffee, you sputter your sip back into your mug, turning her freckled face sour.
“Since when does Steve know how to cook, let alone grill?”
Wiping your mouth with the back of your hand, you know you’re skating on thin ice, but all the built up tension that tightens your muscles, and buzzes incessantly at your fingertips makes everything feel impossible to control.
“He’s not seventeen anymore - “
“Really? He had me fooled shoving his tongue down some pretty blonde’s throat at Rick’s the other night.”
“That’s - come on, you know that's not fair. He didn’t even know -”
”Why stop at just the four of us, let’s invite Vickie, make it a real party.”
The name of your best friend’s ex leaves your mouth before you can stop it, instant regret making a heavy home in your chest that feels like it might cave in when her mood shifts with glassy eyes and it’s completely your fault.
“I take back what I said, I need you to start acting again.”
Jumping off the counter, you set your mug down so you can grab her arm before she can take those few steps out of the kitchen.
“Hey! Look, I’m sorry, I’ll stop.”
She doesn’t put up much of a fight, even though you deserve it, the blue in her eyes turn to ice when she looks at you.
“I’m sorry.”
She holds your stare until she can tell you actually mean it, melting glaciers with a heavy sigh.
“It’s fine, I get it.”
Her words come out soft, just like the lines that smooth on her face.
“I know this is weird and like totally against friend code or whatever, but I think that just goes to show how much he must mean to me or even a testament to how much he’s changed if I’m even asking you to just try and do this. Just try, that’s all.”
“No, you’re right,” you fluster, doing your best to reassure her in a shaky voice, “I just slept badly and had a really weird dream. It just threw me off a little. I’m being so awful and I’m sorry.”
Flashes of the way his hands gripped your hips and the dirty things he whispered in your ear has your palms start to sweat, making you loosen your grip on her arm before she can notice.
Robin searches your face for the reassurance that she needs before a small smile finally tugs at the corners of her lips.“This is why you’re my best friend.” She pulls you into a tight hug, wrapping her arms around your neck.
“Only if you tell him that.”
Snaking your arms around her waist, you let out a shaky laugh, silently preparing to see the man who hasn’t left the crevices of your mind since you stepped foot back in Hawkins.
———
It feels like you’re back in high school the way you can’t stop looking at yourself in the mirror, the nerves still feel the same.
Your gaze wanders up and down your reflection, turning from side to side, overly critical eyes take in your curves that are on display a little more than normal and you wonder if Robin will notice. Tugging your bottom lip between your teeth, better yet you wonder if Robin will notice and have something to say about it.
“You’re certainly spending a lot of time on an outfit.” Your best friend whistles low as she leans against the open bedroom door confirming your fears with a cross of her arms.
“Just trying to remember what I brought is all.” You don’t engage with the amusement that hides in her tone, smoothing down the short black skirt that flares over the tops of your thighs, before adjusting the straps on your matching tank top.
“Riiiight,” she snorts, earning the kind of glare that has her raising her hands in defense before a shit-eating grin cracks wide across her face. “I’m going to need you to hurry up, though. Do I need to remind you that we’re walking?”
“I’m done!” You huff, sock covered feet digging into her cream carpet as you make your way toward her, “I just need to put on my shoes.”
“You’ve got twenty secon-” she agonizes before three hard knocks on her front door cut her off. Her cheshire smile falters as she turns confused.
“You’re lucky you didn’t get to finish that sentence,” you warn in a harsh whisper, grabbing your Converse that had been haphazardly kicked off earlier in the corner.
Robin puts a ringed finger to her lips, like the possibility of a kidnapper being on the other side is extremely probable, and it’s her turn to glare when you roll your eyes at her dramatics. Following her out to the living room, you plop down on the couch, watching her slowly creep to the front door. Both her hands find the blue painted wood pushing up on the toes of her Reeboks to look out the peephole.
“Steve?!”
The name makes your stomach flip, a shaky breath pushing its way through watermelon flavored lips because you thought you had more time than this. Keeping a poker face, you take your time tying your laces as she swings the door open. Head down, your eyes keep their focus on how the dirty white strings move between your fingers.
You’re not ready to look at him. Not yet.
“After taking you to school at 7am every day after I graduated, you really thought I was going to let you walk?” The smile in his voice is evident, a fond memory you’re not a part of but you can still feel the warmth inside it by the way he speaks.
“Thank god,” she starts, the insinuation of the words that are going to follow making your eyes snap up, narrowed and shooting daggers at your best friend, catching Steve’s attention in the process.
“We were going to be late.”
“Oh yeah?” He asks, his gaze claiming yours and holding it against your will, the beginnings of a smirk playing on his full lips and suddenly it’s so much warmer in her living room than it was two seconds ago. “Why’s that?”
He somehow looks even better than the last time you saw him, a bad habit you’re quickly learning that he has. The honey colored tips of his chestnut hair curl at the ends, sticking out of the sides of his backwards baseball hat. A well worn black cotton shirt with the sleeves cut out has the arms that you’d dreamt about on full display. The summer sun somehow dotting even more freckles across his shoulder blades that flex everytime he spins his car keys around his finger. The dark cherry red basketball shorts he wears hit the bottoms of his hairy thighs, the red mesh even more vibrant against his tan skin, just like the white leather of the Nike Cortez’s that cover his feet.
“She’s just being dramatic,” you grumble, finally tearing your eyes from the dark moss that covers the chocolate inside his, doing your best to ignore the heat of them wandering the bare skin of your legs as you finish tying your shoes.
“You changed your outfit like sixty times!”
This is the moment that you decide you’re going to kill Robin in her sleep tonight.
“Well, I’m ready so you both can stop being annoying now.” Standing, you tug down the bottom of your skirt that suddenly feels even shorter with his full attention on you like this.
“Wait, why am I annoying? I just got here.” Steve argues when your words finally sink in, snapping him out of his daze, catching the keys in his palm.
“You’re always annoying, Harrington,” you sigh, hoping your deflections are working, but the small smile that never leaves his lips tells you it’s not.
“Shotgun!” Robin calls out like it’s something you would have argued over. Your shoulder brushes with his as you push your way out the door, sending sparks to the tips of your fingers and making your hair stand on end. Steve and the summer heat warm your skin.
“It’s all yours,” you concede with ease, ignoring the butterfly wings that wreak havoc in your rib cage when the spice of his cologne makes its way into your nose.
It was going to be a night.
Tumblr media
Steve keeps the windows rolled down, the muggy air making your bare thighs stick together and to the hot leather of his backseat. It drowns out the music as he speeds down the back roads, making the conversation between him and Robin upfront almost inaudible.
You don’t worry about what they might be saying, not even when they both start gesturing wildly with their hands. Taking advantage of the time left alone, you put all of your focus into preparing yourself for the next few hours, doing your best to push the lingering thoughts of your dream deep down to a place that no one can find. A task that proves to be much harder while avoiding his gaze that dares you to meet it in the rear view mirror the entire way.
The memories you have of the back of his car don’t help either.
Pulling into Forest Hills trailer park, you’re surprised at the facelift they finally gave it after all these years. Lush green grass grows where the yellow and brown shrub used to be, and a wooden gazebo that looks like it’s missing a finishing coat stands tall, replacing the picnic table where you and the metal head used to smoke. Even the gravel that paves the road looks new and gray, not the dirt brown mud that it used to be.
It’s still a struggle to wrap your head around the fact that Steve ‘The Hair’ Harrington, the former king of Hawkin’s and Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson not only work together, but live together too. You would have laughed in anyone’s face if they told you this five years ago.
The BMW’s tires crunch loudly against the rocks as Steve pulls into the driveway of a hunter green trailer. It sits in the back of the park, almost touching the edge of the woods behind it. A faded white line running along the length that matches the metal railing of their front entrance and the overhang that covers it. The paint peels from parts of the metal in the heat, revealing spots of the gray hidden underneath. A worn in deep maroon couch sits on the porch just like the dirty brown one at Wayne’s trailer, and you already know Eddie spends his mornings there. You internally groan when you catch yourself wondering if Steve does too.
“Home sweet home,” he hums, cutting the engine off and pulling you out of your thoughts.
You dare to meet his eyes for the first time since you left the apartment when Robin jumps out of the front seat, and you immediately regret it. He smiles wide, finally catching your attention, those perfect white teeth baring themselves at you as he pulls off his hat to run a hand through his sweaty bed head. The long strand he’s always at battle with falls through the opening in the back when he puts it on again, because, of course it does.
“Good to see you finally slumming it with the rest of us, King Steve,” you snort, pulling on the handle to let yourself out, ending any chance of conversation.
If it wasn’t for your Eddie barreling out of the front door to greet you and Robin with a big dimpled grin and a freshly rolled joint, you would’ve thought a little harder about the way Steve winced at the nickname.
Tumblr media
The Munson/Harrington Bachelor pad anomaly isn’t exactly what you expected it to be, but even then you weren’t entirely sure what that was. It’s cozy just like how Wayne’s used to be but where there’s hand me downs that have been through the short line of Munson men’s hands, there’s an equal amount of obviously perfectly well kept new. Like the shiny big TV in the center of their living room, and the well-loved lazy boy in front of it, that still had cigarette burns from its previous owner, next to the rich tan leather couch right by it.
It smells like it has just been cleaned, a sanitizing lilac still lingering in the air, trying its best to cover the smell of all grease stained clothing in their hampers and the smoke from joints like the one Eddie’s about to put out in an ashtray full of ones just like it.
He sits at the head of the table with a lopsided grin that pushes up the apples of his cheeks and reveals the deep dimples in the center of them. Droopy lids frame his bloodshot eyes that meet your own. Orange and pinks paint the darkening sky through the sliding glass door behind him.
“I still can’t believe you’re actually here,” Eddie chuckles with a fond glint in big brown eyes leaning back in his chair that squeaks under the redistribution of his weight.
“Back by popular demand,” you smirk, pointing at Robin, who sits just on the other side of the table, glassy eyed with an unwavering smile.
You try to ignore how the empty chair next to her bothers you, or they way your eyes keep looking toward the kitchen through the small opening of their little island, giving you the perfect view of Steve prepping dinner. His thick eyebrows are furrowed as he digs through spice racks and drawers, front teeth digging into the plushness of his bottom lip deep in thought.
“I think this calls for a fire,” Eddie announces loudly, bringing you back to the conversation with a slap of his palms on the wood of the table and the kind of smirk that tells you that you’ve been caught.
“We told Janice next door weekends only after last time,” Steve’s voice startles you, making his presence known, leaning against the wall with crossed arms.
“It’s Thursday. Practically the weekend. Besides it’s a special occasion, look who’s here Stevie boy.” Something in Eddie’s tone makes Steve’s eyes narrow in a silent threat that only makes the metal heads' lips twist up into something more devilish.
“You have to put it out before bed then, I’m not dealing with it like last time.” Steve accepts defeat quicker than anticipated, “And if she calls or comes over to complain at all, that's all on you too.”
”Deal,” Eddie agrees with five fingers across his heart, the silver of his rings catching in the low light of their trailer.“I think she’s got a crush on me anyway.”
“She’s married,” Steve dead pans with a deep sigh, taking his hat off to run another hand through his hair and you hate the way it has your thighs meeting under the table. “Who’s helping me with dinner then?”
He knows better than to look at you, so his gaze falls onto his roommate and best friend.
”Don’t look at me!” Robin argues, raising her right hand to show off the faded scar on her palm. “Last time I tried to help, I had to get stitches, remember?”
”The fire’s a full time job I’m afraid,” Eddie shrugs, standing up. Not missing a beat, they both look at each other like they're in on some secret that you and Steve aren’t apart of before their eyes land on you.
”You know I’m not a good cook,” you whine, refusing to meet the heat of Steve’s stare that burns against the side of your face.
”I’m sure Steve’s more than willing to help teach you, princess.” Eddie grins, and it makes you want to slap the dimples clean off his face.
“It’s fine, I’ll be fine, I can do it by myself,” Steve interjects with a sigh before you have a chance to respond with something that he knows will just egg the metal head on and get his ego even more bruised.
He’s not expecting the way your eyes snap to his, or the way they narrow with something fiery deep inside them.
”We’re grown adults, Steve. I think I can handle helping you cut some vegetables or whatever it is you need me to do.” Standing up with a shove of your chair, he doesn’t even attempt to argue about how that’s the exact opposite of what you just said.
”There we go! Problem solved.” Eddie’s grin is mischievous, and so is the wink he throws at his roommate before opening the sliding glass door, ushering Robin out and leaving you both alone.

The tension inside the kitchen hangs thicker in the air than the humidity outside weighing down your shoulders, making the words stick in the back of your throat as you try to navigate the close proximity to Steve. Neither one of you is sure of what to say first, and the sound of Eddie and Robin laughing outside filling the silence between you somehow makes it worse.
The weed twists the knots in your stomach tighter, and the cedar that always seems to linger whenever he’s around turns suffocating without an escape. You lean against the sink across from him while he digs through the icebox in the fridge. Shoulder blades moving with the motions of his wrist, plastic crinkling loudly every time he moves a bag out of the way. Muttering to himself, you watch goosebumps rise on his tan skin from the cool air, muscles twitching from the shock.
This was a mistake.
Biting the inside of your cheek, you tear your eyes away in hopes it will stop the dull ache between your legs from getting worse when you’re brought back to the way those same arms caged you in while his hips pushed you deeper into the mattress in your dreams last night. Looking out the small window at the beginning flames of the bonfire, a shaky breath pushes past your glossed lips, and you wipe your palms on your skirt before turning around to wash your hands.
”You don’t have to help, you know?” His voice comes out just loud enough for you to hear over the running water, the small smacking sound of the fridge closing behind it, “If you’re that uncomfortable, I can do it.”
Cutting the water, you shake your hands in the sink before tearing off a paper towel from the roll next to you. Working up enough courage to finally turn around to look at him, you finish drying your hands with a softer expression.
”No, I can help.”
He holds your stare, silently giving you another out while his fingers make quick work of unwrapping a head of lettuce, an onion, and a few peppers from their plastic confines. No matter how much you want to look away, you don’t, standing firm in your choice despite everything inside of you screaming to run away, and it’s enough for him to nod his head. The slight twitch of his lips while he rolls the bags in his hands doesn’t go unnoticed.
“I just need you to cut the onion into thin slices for the burgers, and same with the jalapeños.” He instructs, turning his back to you to throw away the wrappings.
The sudden movement has the deep cut sleeves of his shirt fluttering open, giving you a glimpse of the thick patch of hair on his chest, and how it tapers off and down past his belly button. Your thighs find each other again, and you look up to the ceiling silently, trying to regain all the strength you thought you’d just found.
“And the lettuce - uhh, are you okay?” Steve’s confusion makes all the blood in your body rush to the apples of your cheeks as you try to hide your internal struggle with a smile.
“Yeah, we’re good. Never been better. Wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” you ramble, brushing past him to the station he’s set up for you.
“…Right,” he starts with a pause before choosing to leave it alone, “I just need you to kind of rip the lettuce up, you can cut it if you want but I think bigger pieces would be better.”
You aren’t expecting his voice to come from right behind you, so close that you can feel the heat of his breath against the back of your neck. Your own goosebumps rise, dotting across exposed skin and you hope he doesn’t notice but the way he lingers in your space for a little longer despite the nod of your head makes you think otherwise. The spice of his cologne grows faint along with his footsteps against the tile floor, finding a home on the other side of the kitchen, busying himself with what he had started before.
Eddie turns on the radio, easing some of the tension from your muscles, and relaxing your shoulders as you get a good grip on the handle of the knife.
You could do this, easy.
You really start to believe it too when you cut all the jalapeños, even humming along to an old Judas Priest song that you and Eddie used to blast in his van after school. Peeling the onion, you pretend that you don’t see the reflection of Steve staring at you from the glass of the microwave as you sway your hips and bop your head to the beat.
“So, New York huh?” He finally breaks, and your eyes flutter to the reflection to see him putting away all the spices he’d pulled out while you were smoking. “You likin’ it?”
Your movements freeze for a second, and your tongue feels heavy in your mouth with all the things you’ve dreamed of saying to him. Years of coming up with all the ways you’d tell him how much better you were without him. A recurring fantasy of a ten year reunion where you’d show up with your famous screenwriter husband you’d met on the Subway, turning your nose at him and whatever Hawkin’s girl he’d managed to knock up. But instead, the universe has you here five years too early, and Steve isn’t the same guy you’d left even if you don’t quite trust it yet.
Picking up the knife again, you roll your shoulders with a quiet breath before cutting into the onion once more as you search for the words to answer.
“Yeah, I like it. It’s big and it can be a little scary sometimes but I can be myself there,” it comes out a little quieter than intended but you still twist your hips to meet his gaze from across the kitchen where he stands with crossed arms giving you his full attention. “No one really cares what you do.”
“Who are you trying to be out there?” He asks like he has no idea what small talk is, the greens in his eyes shimmering against the last bit of sunlight that shines on his face.
“Someone stronger than who I was in high school,” you whisper, turning back around to focus on the task at hand and not your ex trying to dig into the depths of your soul while you cut onions.
“You were always the strongest person I knew,” he counters, and you can practically hear the shrug that you know follows his words.
”You certainly liked to test it.”
It comes out before you can bite your tongue, your knife slicing right into the center of the onion and hitting the cutting board roughly, adding dramatic effect.
”Ouch,” he hums with a small laugh, silverware clanking against the metal of the sink behind you as he finishes cleaning up his mess, “I guess I deserved that one.”
“Steve.” You stop cutting, dropping the knife to look at him, unintentionally swiping your eye in the process, “I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said that. I promised Rob- oh fuck!”
The burning in your right eye becomes unbearable, the tears spilling freely down your cheek blurring your vision with a harsh sting.
”Oh, oh no. Did you touch your eye?!” Steve sounds panicked, sneakers scuffling against the tile as he hurries to grab a washcloth from the drawer.
“It was an accident!” You whine, closing your eyes as tight as you can, willing the burning tears to stop, the sound of water running from the sink filling your ears, “God it hurts so bad, Steve.”
”I know baby, I know,” he coos in a soothing voice, and in your panic you almost don’t catch the old nickname that slips off his tongue with ease. Long fingers wrap around your wrist, pulling you closer to him, “Let me see, stay still.”
The coolness of the rag provides instant relief when he presses it gently to your eye. Taking a deep breath, you feel the warmth of his palm rub up and down your arm soothing your irritated nerves more. The sting doesn’t fully go away, but it subsides enough for the tears to slow down as he applies a little more pressure before removing it to wet it again. Blinking past the burning, you finally realize just how close you are to him now.
Chests practically touching, you can see the beginnings of stubble lining his jaw despite being able to tell that he shaved today. The vampire bites on his neck that used to be your favorite to kiss taunt you for what feels like the millionth time this week. With cedar and musk filling your lungs, it feels impossible to breathe.
He cuts off the water, turning towards you again, and you aren’t prepared for the depth in his eyes meeting yours from this distance. They’re soft when they look at you, the chestnut inside them warming gold as you stare back at him a little dazed. Calloused fingertips stop their path up your arm to gently grab your chin, tilting your face up to his so he can get a better look at the damage. He’s sweet with the way moves your head around, the pad of his thumb smoothing the skin under your irritated eye.
”I think you’ll be okay, I don’t see any seeds or anything trapped inside,” he whispers, thumb never stopping its movements while his gaze flicks down to your lips that pout on their own, something electric charging in the air.
The sliding glass door opens behind him before you can answer, Robin and Eddie making their presence known in a loud burst of energy. Snatching the wet rag from his hand, you’re quick to put distance between you. Placing the cool cloth against your face, you make your way out of the kitchen before anyone can ask you anything about what happened. Muttering a “thanks Steve '' on your way to assess just how ruined your makeup is in the bathroom.
Your heart pounds in your ears feeling the ghost of his touch everywhere, chest tightening because your body won’t stop screaming for more.
Tumblr media
You stay in the bathroom long enough for the burning to subside, mumbling words that resemble some kind of pep talk while scrubbing your hands. Fingers that still shake with nerves fix your smudged mascara, listening for the moment their voices go quiet behind the sliding glass door before you decide to finally venture out. The sound of Steve’s laugh catches in your ears, as you make your way through the empty trailer, the corners of your lips curling on their own as you tug on the handle that separates you from them. The humidity is quick to turn your skin sticky despite the sun disappearing behind the trees.
”There she is! I heard Harrington tried to blind you,” Eddie chuckles from his place crouched in front of the fire. A half smoked cigarette dangling lazily from the side of his mouth as he ‘stokes’ the flames, the crackling wood competing with the buzz of the cicadas that surround you.
”Riddle me this, Steve, why is it that whenever someone ’helps’ you cook, they end up in the hospital or worse, almost BLIND!”
From her spot sitting on one of the many faded red plastic lawn chairs they have circled around the pit, Robin doesn’t hesitate to turn it into a dog pile with dramatics that could rival an Oscar winning actress.
Steve rolls his eyes, the warm light from the smaller flame of the grill glowing underneath him, highlighting his sharp features. His gaze meets yours, ignoring his friends, and you swear even from here, you can see the green inside each eye shine. You know there’s a million questions he wants to ask but there’s only one that comes out, and it’s soft just like the way he touched you inside.
”Are you okay?”
It’s hard for you to look anywhere but his face, remembering just how pretty it was up close. Your eyes trace the straight line of his nose, and the curve of his full bottom lip before finally meeting his eyes. The small smile that tugs at the corner of his mouth reminds you that you haven’t answered him yet but he doesn’t say anything. He lets Robin’s low whistle do all the talking.
”Uhh, yeah, I’m good. Crisis averted,” you mumble, snapping out of it, cheeks warming up enough to compete with the fire pit you stumble around, landing in the seat next to your best friend. “No jalapenos on mine, I think I’ve had enough for today.”
Steve laughs again, just like the one you heard on your way out and the sound burrows in your heart, making it swell, giddiness roiling deep in your gut. You ignore Robin’s obnoxious toothy grin next to you, doubling down even more when she starts to wiggle her eyebrows. The two beer cans at her feet tell you everything you need to know.
Without a cloud in an almost completely dark sky, you start to see the twinkling of the stars you’ll always miss begin to appear. They battle for your attention against the fireflies that flicker through the tall grass and into the woods. Lighter fluid stings your nose when Steve squirts more onto the burning coals, switching from hot dogs to burgers like he’s been grilling for a family of four his whole life.
A couple of beers calm your nerves that threaten to give you away, watching Steve in his element like this, the holes cut in his shirt showing off every flex of his muscles as he flips the patties. Cheese melting over the burger meat, just like your body that sinks further into the lawn chair that sticks to the backs of your thighs. He throws you a knowing look, making you clear your throat. Straightening your posture, you try to join in Robin and Eddie’s conversation like you hadn’t just been caught. Taking another long swig of the bitter semi cold liquid, you hope it’s enough to get you through dinner.
It’s not.
Steve takes the seat across from you when he’s finished cooking, manspreading with his paper plate in his lap. You fight the urge to look at the tan line of his inner thighs that are revealed by his loose fitting shorts, laughing a little too loud at Eddie’s jokes, desperate to keep your struggle hidden. Even going as far as acting interested when Robin starts talking about her reasons why she likes to buy certain things from the three different grocery stores in town.
It’s when a dribble of ketchup lands on top of Steve's hand after a large bite that you lose your cool. Right between his thumb and index finger, he hums with cheeks full of food before those full lips of his wrap around the spilled sauce, cleaning it with a flick of his tongue.
”I’m gonna throw my plate away, is anyone else done?” You squeak, standing up abruptly, your chair nearly falling backwards in the process.
“Jesus, easy tiger,” Eddie snorts, finishing off the last of his beer before crushing the tin can in his hand, tossing it on his empty plate, “The trash isn’t going anywhere.”
“Just trying to be a good house guest is all,” you lie, making Eddie quirk an eyebrow, the dimples in his cheeks coming out to play again.
”Uh huh.” He smirks before handing you his plate that Robin quickly piles hers on top of. “Sure.”
”That’s very sweet of you,” Steve chimes in, with a lopsided grin on his face that makes you want to punch the air and get out of here.
“She’s pure class Harrington, get it right,” Robin comes for the save with a knowing wink that only makes the heat growing in your cheeks worse.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” you mumble quickly turning on your heel, feeling all their eyes on you as you make your way to the back door of the trailer.
”Hurry back. We're gonna play Never Have I Ever,” your best friend calls out over her shoulder making you wish you could just stay inside when the sliding glass door closes behind you.
Tumblr media
Embers spark and pop from the fire before they disappear into the night sky, the full moon’s white glow stopping just along the dark edges of the trees that surround the backyard. The four of you sit around the pit with fresh beers in hand. The buzz of the alcohol turning Steve’s gaze heavy as he stares at you from across the flickering flames. Tucking your bottom lip between your teeth you look everywhere but his direction, and hope he doesn’t see the way your thighs press under the heat of it.
“Are you sure this is a good idea Robin?” Eddie whispers, big brown eyes glancing between the both of you, and your bouncing knee.
”It’s fine, they’ll be fine. Right guys?” She waves the metal head off, nudging you with her elbow, completely unphased.
”Of course we’ll be fine, why wouldn’t we be fine?” You snap, tugging the bottom of your skirt down, all the built up tension turning into aggression. Steve smiles into his next gulp.
Whoa, whoa. I was just asking, but you do seem a little tense.” She raises her hands in surrender, both her eyebrows disappearing behind her shaggy bangs while Eddie distracts himself by poking the fire.
“Relax, it’s just a game,” Steve sighs, settling deeper in his chair, the warm amber in the flames bouncing off the mischievous gold in his eyes that keep their hold on you. “Besides, we’re friends now, right?”
Your gaze narrows, the grip on your beer tightening enough to hear the pop of the metal.“Yep,” you manage to get out, shooting Eddie a glare when he snorts.
“If you guys say so,” he starts, ignoring your scowl while getting cut off by Robin who’s practically vibrating in her seat now.
”Let’s have fun already. I’ll start.” Robin shushes him before acting like she’s deep in thought, turning to face you with the kind of grin on her face that tells you she’s up to no good, “Never have I ever…let some Wall Street douchebag go down on me in the backseat of his Rolls Royce.”
“That’s weirdly specific- oh wait! Damn! Princess!” Eddie whoops when you take a swig with a roll of your eyes, flipping Robin the bird.
“Gotta try everything once, right?” You shrug, holding his gaze with a smirk, not even trying to hide that you’re taking great pleasure in the way Steve’s jaw clenches at the new found information of your life outside of here. “He had a nice mouth when he wasn’t using it for talking.”
Steve takes a deep breath through his nose, the mossy greens in his eyes turning dark as you lean back in your chair smugly.
“She’s a wild one, I’ll tell ya,” Robin giggles fondly, passing the baton to you with a proud smile.
Maybe it was the beer or the incessant way Steve’s presence drove you to the brink of insanity by rageful lust. Or even just the way he sat across from you with his legs spread wide like he ruled the world, whatever it was, that's what’s to blame for the question that rolls off your tongue.
“Never have I ever taken someone’s virginity.”
Robin’s jaw drops, guffawing with a harsh slap on your leg, mouthing a ‘you said you’d be nice’ but the buzz of the alcohol keeps a lopsided grin on her face. Eddie drinks, nervously watching the staring contest going on between you and Steve. Like a dog and its owner trying to establish dominance, both of you refuse to be the one who looks away first. Taking two gulps for good measure, he smacks his lips loudly when he’s done, wiping the foam off his upper lip with the back of his wrist. Raising his eyebrows at you in a silent challenge.
“This isn’t awkward at all,” Eddie grumbles, taking another sip of his beer to help the uncomfortable tension that threatens to settle over the circle.
”Who’s next? Who's next?” Robin urges with a flick on your knee, forcing you to fold and give her your attention with a blink of your eyes and it feels like the first time in hours that you finally look at someone other than Steve.
Your teeth clench, grinding at the thought that even after all this time he’s still got this kind of hold on you, and it has you riding the thin line between wanting to give him a black eye or have him take you for a spin in his beemer for old times sake.
“Eddie,” raising your can in his direction, he meets you in the middle with a cheers that doesn’t quite touch before slinking back in his chair with an exhausted huff.
“Hmmm, what do I want to reveal about myself?” He hums deep in thought, metal rings clinking against tin in a familiar tune as he taps his fingers around his beer can, “Never have I ever… been in a threesome, despite being titled ‘freak’ of Hawkins.”
“Really?” Robin seems genuinely shocked, making you giggle.
“Yeah, I know. It’s crazy to me too.” Eddie shrugs, with a knowing grin that doesn’t quite sit right in your gut.
That’s when you see it. Steve taking a drink.
”WHAT?!” Your best friend squeals practically jumping from her seat, clearly something that's not common knowledge being revealed.
Jealousy is an ugly monster, and it finds a home deep inside your chest tonight, turning you green with it. Your half empty beer can crunches the more your fingers dig into the tin, eyes narrowing when he just responds to Robin with a coy smirk and a shrug bringing his attention back to you.
”Gotta try everything once right?” Steve mocks, full pink lips curling up at the corners as he takes another sip.
Your heart sinks with your stomach, the muscles in your face doing the same before you have a chance to stop it. Visions of red nails and pink lips that don’t belong to you dance through your head, and the smug smirk he probably wore while his big hands gripped their hips taking turns making them moan his name. The sound of your can completely collapsing in a loud crunch gets everyone’s attention, and you ignore the softened expression on Steve’s face trying to capture your gaze again. Eddie clears his throat, throwing you a life line before opening a new can of beer with a suggestion you’ve never been more grateful for.
”Alright Steve, your turn.”
Steve nods with a tight lipped smile taking one last glance in your direction before sitting up in his chair with an idea that makes his cheeks push up and his eyes sparkle against the light of the fire. “Alright, never have I ever pretended to not only have a driver's license but also own a car that actually belongs to my best friend so I can hook up with a girl in the backseat.”
A quiet sigh escapes your lungs, shoulders relaxing just a little when Robin groans loudly at the attack that’s clearly focused on her. Oblivious to the fact that you’re hanging on by a thread next to her, you stare fixed on the way the flames lick up into the night.
“Look, she was a college senior, okay? I was only a sophomore and she was way cooler than me. Judge me all you want, but it worked didn’t it?” She argues, lifting her beer to the sky before taking a sip proudly. “No regrets!”
Her smile is contagious, easing some of the tension when you and Eddie giggle meeting each other's eyes from across her honey blond waves. You can feel Steve’s stare burning a hole in the side of your head, the heat of it in direct competition with the fire that thrives off the light breeze that rustles through the trees.
“Aright, alright, never have I ever faked getting off.” She wiggles her eyebrows with a toothy grin, looking at Eddie specifically who gives her a dead stare in response, clearly something told to her in confidence.
Biting your lip, you really weren’t going to add more fuel to the fire but when you finally meet Steve’s eyes that have been begging for your attention this whole time, you can’t help but douse the flames with the whole can of gasoline. Another flash of different shades of lipstick staining the freckles you loved to kiss so much sending another wave of rage down to your core.
”I can think of a few times.” You snort loudly, holding his gaze and pointedly stealing everyone else's attention before polishing off the last of your crumpled can.
Steve’s jaw clenches hard enough that you swear you can hear his teeth crunch together. Nostrils flaring with a gaze so dark it threatens to swallow you whole, all traces of honey and warmth gone, leaving you chilled to the bone.
”I think we’re done with this game Robin,” he grunts, standing up with a kick of his chair and for once his eyes don’t search for yours as he stomps across the yard towards the yellow light of the trailer.
“Seriously!” Your best friend groans, slinking back in her chair with a hand running down her face, “Maybe this was a bad idea.”
”Yeah, genius! I told you, but nooo, you didn’t want to listen to me.” Eddie scoffs into his beer can, using his free hand to poke at the fire.
”Can you go, like, talk to him or something?” Robin turns to you with an almost pleading look that gets more prominent the more your face turns sour.
“Me?! I have to go talk to him? Seriously? He’s the one who stormed off,” you argue, crossing your arms.
”Yeah, well you clearly hurt his feelings.” She points at his pacing figure through the kitchen window and it takes everything inside of you not to tell her that he hurt yours first.
The two of you stare each other down, the wills of stubbornness at battle until her eyes go soft, big and glassy.
“Please,” she begs, pulling out the big guns, and jutting out her bottom lip.
You hold her gaze for a few more seconds before surrendering with a roll of your eyes, huffing loudly when you uncross your arms to stand up, making her face light back up.
”I hate you. More than anything.”
Eddie cackles loudly at your lie, digging in his front pocket for a smushed pack of cigarettes.
“We all know you don’t mean that,” she hums with a content smile, leaning over to snatch the freshly lit tobacco from the metalhead’s mouth, waving at you as you start to follow Steve’s path up to the trailer. “Please don’t kill him!”
Tumblr media
Closing the sliding glass door behind you, a shiver runs up your spine when the coolness of the air conditioning hits your sticky skin. The sound of running water catches in your ears from the kitchen along with the murmur of his voice under its rush. You can’t quite make out what he’s saying to himself, even when you reach the doorway.
Hunched over the sink, his shoulder blades flex with every harsh scrub of the pan. His hat rests on the counter, and you can’t help but notice the wild way his hair sits on the top of his head from wearing it all day, sun kissed tips curling from the humidity. Clearing your throat just loud enough to alert him of your presence, you watch the way his whole body goes rigid. It only lasts for a moment before he recovers, shutting off the water with a lazy slap of his hand. Turning around he grabs the dish towel next to him to dry off, meeting your gaze with a little more color in his eyes, flecks of gold trying to shimmer in a raging storm.
Having his full attention on you, alone like this, is enough for your tongue to go numb. The back of your throat turns into sandpaper, making it impossible for words to find their way out. A big hand runs through his hair, fingers getting caught on a knot at the end that he works out with ease, a gentle sigh deflating his defensive chest just a little before he speaks.
“Hey.”
Anger still boils under all of the attraction, along with the jealousy you aren’t willing to acknowledge. You aren’t ready. You can’t do this yet.
“I gotta go to the bathroom,” you excuse yourself, turning on your heel and leaving just as quickly as you arrived.
You ignore the way he calls after you, seeking solace in the place that's become your hiding spot for the night. Fingers wrap around the handle to the familiar room, you stop in your tracks when a warm patch of light leaking out from a crack in a door that wasn’t opened before catches your attention.
You can smell the cedar from here.
Glancing over your shoulder to see if he followed you, it changes the course of your direction when you discover that he didn’t. Taking a few steps across the hallway, you’re careful not to let the hinges creak when you push his bedroom door open a little more. Your senses quickly become overwhelmed with everything that makes Steve, Steve. You throw another cautious look down the hallway before crossing the invisible line. Closing the door like how you found it, you let your curiosity get the best of you.
It’s cleaner than you thought it’d be now that he doesn’t live inside the Harrington’s massive house anymore. His bed is bigger, the twin sized mattress that you used to squeeze into traded in for a queen. The navy blue comforter that looks soft to the touch is laid out messy on white sheets, a digital clock with glaring red numbers that read 10:30 pm on the nightstand next to it.
The carpet under your feet is a heather gray, and you can tell that it’s scratchy even with your shoes on. Patrick Swayze watches your every move from the Roadhouse poster hanging on his wall, the floor creaking as you make your way toward the small work desk in the corner. Your eyes linger on the impressive way all his dirty clothes manage to be in his hamper before they find the framed pictures spread over his desk.
There’s one of him with the middle school boy you knew as Dustin Henderson perched on his back, only he looks much older than you remembered. The curls still give him away despite the braces free smile. Both of them grin hard enough for their eyes to crinkle in the corners like they had finally stopped laughing long enough for someone to snap this picture.
You fight back the way your cheeks threaten to push up, not surprised to find one of him and Robin at what looks like Lover’s Lake, both of them striking the same pose with inflatable tubes around their waists wearing matching bucket hats and sunglasses.
The guy in these photos doesn’t seem anything like the one you remember and it’s hard for you to wrap your head around it. They look the same.
”I don’t think this is the bathroom, do you?” Steve’s voice makes you jump, heart stopping in your chest for a split second before you meet his questioning stare with a guilty face of your own.
His arms are crossed over his chest as leans against the door frame, unintentionally pulling the collar of his shirt down giving you a glimpse of the patch of hair and the gold chain underneath. The softness in his eyes from the kitchen is gone as he stares you down, it’s replaced with something you can’t quite put your finger on but the intensity of it raking over your body has your thighs meeting for what feels like the millionth time tonight. His full pink lips twist into a sarcastic smirk as he pushes off the wood, taking the next few steps into his room.
”Did you really mean what you said out there?” He questions, dark eyes sparkling the more you squirm under the heat of them.
”Mean what? I said a lot of things out there. We all did.” Narrowing your gaze, you try to take back some semblance of control, squaring up your shoulders at him but the dark chuckle you get in response tells you it’s a futile attempt.
“I didn’t say anything about you specifically though, did I?” Steve counters, stopping just a few feet away from you, tongue poking at the side of his cheek, “No, I don’t think I did.”
He hums, uncrossing his arms to mimic your stance in a silent challenge, eyebrows raised waiting on your response.
”I didn’t say anything about you specifically either.” Jutting out your chin in defiance, it's your turn to cross your arms now. Maturity at its finest.
He doesn’t answer you, instead he holds your eyes with his own and it takes everything inside of you not to look away. Your tongue swipes against your bottom lip as he starts to take a few steps closer, broad shoulders making the room feel small when the toes of his sneakers meet yours.
“I don’t think you ever faked anything with me.” He looks down his nose at you, smelling like summer nights and everything you’ve tried to forget.
”You think or you know?” Cocking a brow with a shit eating grin that tells him you aren’t going to fold easy, the backs of your thighs hit the edge of his desk.
He sucks at his teeth, rolling his shoulders with the kind of laugh that makes the dull ache between your legs turn into a throb.
“I know. Trust me.” He smirks, gaze lingering where the soft dough of your thighs meet before finding your eyes again, “Guess what else I know?”
It's hard for you to catch your breath when he looks at you like this and you wonder if he notices the quick heaves of your chest or the way your eyes glaze over from being this close to him.
”W-what?” Your stutter gives you away, but at least you tried to fight one last time before he went in for the kill.
The whites of his teeth show in the kind of smile that tells you he was hoping you’d ask just that. Leaning in, his palms land on his desk finding purchase on either side of your hips, caging you in. He’s close enough for the tip of his nose to brush against yours, close enough to smell the wheat from his beer on the warm breath that fans against your lips.
“You wouldn’t still look at me the way you do, if I hadn’t made you feel good honey. And you know what else?”
His voice goes deep as he whispers, nose nudging at your cheek before his lips hover right by your ear making you shiver, goosebumps making their second appearance of the day. Your hands find the edge of his desk, chest brushing against his in a deep breath feeling the slightest touch of his lips against the soft spot right behind it.
“I know I can make you cum harder with my tongue than some Wall Street asshole, who doesn’t even know what to do under the hood of that fancy car he spent so much money on.” His grip on the desk tightens at the thought, wood groaning under the stress of it and it has your thighs spreading for him on their own.
“Steve -”
His fingers grab your chin like at the shop with just a firm enough hold for you to pull away if you want to but you can’t bring yourself to do it when his eyes threaten to swallow you whole. You wonder if it's just a mirror reflection of your own as he takes some of the new space you’ve given him, so close now that you can feel the heat of his body where yours screams for him most. His brows furrow when your noses brush and he swears he can taste the watermelon of your lip gloss, and then he knows he can when he feels your fingers curl into his shirt tugging him closer.
“I think,” he breathes into your mouth, hesitating just enough to soak it in a second longer before pulling away with an almost pained expression that he quickly tries to cover up, “I think it’s time for me to take you and Robin home.”
He steps back and out of your space, a nervous hand running through his hair like he did something he wasn’t supposed to do. His eyes meet yours again and there's something apologetic that swirls in the deep forest that watches you tug your skirt down straightening up.
”I’ll uh, I’ll give you a minute while I go wrangle Robin.”
He takes one last look at you like he really needs to be sure of something before finally walking out and leaving you alone to wonder how the night ended with you here. Skirt rucked up, trying to catch your breath in Steve Harrington’s room.

I have a special request if you’re up for it
summary: you and Adam have this mutual attraction towards each other, but the main reason you won’t take the first step is because you know how high his sex drive is, which wouldn’t be too much of a problem if you weren’t so vanilla. You liked tenderness, praise, gentle touches, and you just don’t entirely trust him to be very accommodating.
do with this what you will, please and thank you
thanks for the request! this prompt was amaze! <33
sorry it took so long for me to do this its been a hectic week (america core)
hope you like how this turned out :]
__
You and Adam were... complicated, to say the least. Having been friends with Eve, you've heard all about his "inadequacies" in Eden. You thought he was this vile, cocky, arrogant asshole with no redeeming qualities. And then you met, and yeah that's pretty accurate. But, alas, there was an instant attraction.
Eve took you out a few weeks ago to a party hosted by Heaven's elite, a party you'd usually never attend on account of being a lower class angel. So many of Heaven's highest powers were there: seraphims, arch angels, virtues- and the first man himself, Adam. Eve scoffed as he approached, the colossal angel striding up with a cocky grin.
He was beautiful; rugged features, a messy fluff of hair, a nice smile- truly the man. For a moment, you were infatuated... and then he had to open his mouth. The cocky angel bends down to meet face to face with you, "Eve, who's the babe?". Eve rolls her eyes, "No, Adam.". "Fuck do you mean "No"," He says in a mocking voice.
Straightening his posture, he scoffs, his full stature towering over yours. "I mean no, you're not gonna 'cum 'n go' with this one," she asserts sternly. "Cum and go?" he feigns innocence, "I would never-". Before he could finish his sentence, Eve cuts him off, "Adam, I've told her everything about you and us, she's smarter than to get with someone like you". He groans, "Ugh! God dammit! You're such a cock-block Eve!".
Eve's head snaps to the entrance of the party, watching as a tall blonde woman walks in. "Lillith!" she exclaims, beginning to walk in her direction. Shit, was she gonna leave you with this dickhead? You grab her arm and pull her back to you, "Don't you dare leave me-". She smiles softly and chuckles, "C'mon, you're smart enough not to fall for his crap. You can deal with him for a few minutes, I'll be back before you know it!". "But-" you try to protest but she had already strode halfway across the room. Pivoting back towards Adam, your once again met with his smug gaze.
"So," he steps closer to you, "this party blows. I get cock blocked and both my ex-wives show up? Lame.". He grabs you chin and lifts it, "Wanna get out of here?". "What? No!" you respond, a bit offended at the implication. Adam removes his hands off you and holds them up in a gesture of surrender, "Alright, sugartits. Heard you loud and clear. Guess I'm just gonna go and leave you allll alo-". He turns around and pretends to leave, trying to coerce you into leaving with him. "Wait!" you call out. Eve was the really the only other person you knew and she had left and you hate being alone.
He turns on his heels slowly to face you, the ever-present smug look plastered on his face, "Oh? What was that?". You huff and avoid eye contact, "Fine. Let's gooOOOO-". He grabs you by the arm before you an continue and yanks you along as he shoves through the crowd of angels. Usually, this isn't your thing. But, you naively figured you guys would just make out behind the building or something for a bit.
And just like you had thought, Adam takes you out back and presses you against the wall, crashing his lips against yours in a heated kiss. It took you a minute to adjust to his feverent pace, trying to match the same energy that he put into his embraces. His tongue invades your mouth, pushing its way past your lips without permission. Entangling his tongue with yours, soft moans escape your lips.
His hands snake their way under your shirt, kneading your breasts through your bra softly. Okay, this was escalating really fast- As he goes to undo your bra clasp, you pull back and try to pry his arms off you. You chuckle nervously, "Uh let's maybe slow down a bit...". He looks back with his eyebrow quirked up, a confused look on his face,"Huh? What do you mean "too fast"?".
The angel chuckles in a taunting manner, "Wait? What'd you think we were gonna do back here?". "I-I don't know, make out?" you reply. "Look, Babe, I'm looking to screw," he pokes a finger between a hole he made in his hand while wiggling his eyebrows, "I'm not here to share feelings or snuggle. Got it?". He leans in for another kiss but you stop him by pressing the palm of your hand to his lips, "Yeah, I'm gonna pass.".
Adam scoffs and pulls back, crossing his arms over his broad chest arrogantly, "Fine, your loss anyway.". "Bye, Adam," you say with a sigh as you walk away. "Fine, bitch," he mutters.
__
Since that day, you and Adam have had many encounters, each one identical to the last. He'd hit on you, you'd reject him, and he'd act clueless as to why. Although the attraction is surely there, it would never work between the two of you. Adam's high sex drive could never work for your vanilla self, and there's no way in Hell Adam would ease up on fucking for even a day, let alone for the duration of a relationship. Besides, it's not like he's looking for anything serious.
One day, you run into Adam again in the promenade. The two of you get to talking, laughing, flirting - the usual. He makes and advance, and you reject him, just like every other time. But this time, he snaps. The angel throws his hands up in the air, "I don't fucking get it! You always do this shit!". "Heheh, oh Adam I'm just gonna flirt with you and then totally leave you high and dry! Hehe!" he says, mocking your voice. "That's really what you think I'm doing?" you narrow your eyes at him. He scoffs, "Oh be fucking real! You're such a tease!". "A tease? You're just pissed because I don't want to fuck you!"
He looks at you incredulously, "Do you know how insane you sound?!". "Are you serious? Whatever, I'm out," you turn to walk away. He grabs your forearm and effortlessly pulls you back to face him, "Excuse me? Did I say we were fucking done here?". You try to pry your arm away from him, however, it's pointless against his relentless grip, "Let go, Adam.". "No," he states firmly, hand engulfing your arm tightly, "I wanna know why you're rejecting me.".
You exhale sharply and run a hand down your face in exasperation, "Look, you're a nice- well- you're and okay guy, Adam. We have good chemistry it's just...". "It's just what?" he questions roughly. "It's just that your sex drive is so fucking high! I don't want that, I wan't a relationship with love and tenderness-". "That's fucking dumb," he interrupts. "Exactly! We want different things, so let me go!".
Adam's eyes widen, shocked at the thought of you leaving, "What? No! I can be tender! I prommy! C'mon give me a chance.". "Pft," you chuckle, "not falling for that.". "Falling for what? I can be a real fuckin' romantic!".
"Yeah, right," you chuckle, unconvinced by his promises. "Babe," he grabs your smaller hands in his large one, "one date, that's all I ask! And if it doesn't rock your world then you'll never hear from me again.". You hesitate for a moment. Never hearing Adam's nagging sounds great, plus he'd probably take you out somewhere nice... A heavy sigh escapes your lips, "One date. Somewhere nice, bring flowers.".
"You got it, sugartits!"
__
Adam followed up on his promise. He texted you to be ready at 5 tomorrow and wear something nice. You didn't know where he would be taking you, he'd simply state that "its a surprise".
The following day, the clock struck 5 and you immediately heard a knock on the door. Swinging the door open, Adam leaned against the door frame with the biggest bouquet of flowers your've ever seen. "These are for you, obviously," he holds out the extensive amount of flowers to you. Taking them in your hand, you examine the flower choice, "Jonquils and white roses, fitting.". "Oh really I hadn't noticed," he mutters, feigning innocence.
"Uh huh," you eye him up and down, surprised at his formal attire. He ditched the robe, instead, he dawned a white suit with lavender and gold accents akin to his usual robe colors. Though, he still wore his exterminator mask. The angel notices your gaze on him and wiggles his eyebrows, "Like what you see?". "Could be better," you state flatly. He scrunches his eyebrows, an offended look on his face, "Better? How?!". Reaching out, you lift the mask off him, "Much better, now I can actually see you.". He turns his head away bashfully, muttering, "yeah, okay, whatever," under his breath as his face heats up.
__
The two of you arrive at the destination, a beautiful garden-esque restaurant that's completely cleared out. "Woah, this is gorgeous," you state, in awe at the scenery. A cocky grin spreads across Adam's face, "Like it? Being the first man has its perks, I had the whole place cleared out just for us.".
"Its, wow," you walk in further, admiring the set up. The restaurant's walls are covered in vines and flowers, fairy lights hanging from beamed ceiling. A dim glow casts around place, a surprisingly warm atmosphere in the cold outside air. Adam grabs your waist gently and guides you to your table. Roses pave the walkway to your seating, waiters on standby holding wine. Adam pulls your chair out for you to sit, pushing your chair in for you once your sat.
"I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised at this," you state. "Oh yeah?" he smirks, "told I could be romantic and shit.". You take a sip of your wine and chuckle, "Well, your doing a great job of it so far.". "Oh, yeah?" Adam leans in and whispers in a husky low tone, "how good? Good enough to give me a thank-you-fuck after?".
"Nope," you reply flatly. "God damn it!" he throws his hands up in the air in frustration. You laugh and check the time on your phone, "Look at that, you lasted an hour without bringing up sex! That's your best record.". He scoffs, a soft smile involuntarily spreading across his face, "Yeah whatever, fuckin' prude.". __
You two share a nice dinner, the food was phenomenal and the conversation was pretty good. Getting to know Adam was actually interesting, at least for the parts he would open up about. He pays for the meal and leads you outside, the cool air causing you to shiver. Adam kindly offers his jacket out to you. "Thanks," you grab the jacket and slide it over your shoulders, the oversized fabric offering extra warmth across your body.
You take his hand as you walk through the streets of heaven, the action taking him by surprise for a moment. He regains his composure and intertwines his fingers with yours tightly, pulling you to his side.
The walk back to your place is comfortably quiet, just the two of you enjoying the calm atmosphere. Once you arrive to your place, you stand by the door as you say your goodbyes, "Tonight was really fun, Adam.". You move closer to him, expecting a kiss from him before you part ways.
He avoids eye contact, not responding to you, an uncharacteristically shy demeanor suddenly creeping up. "Adam? Helloo?" you try to get his attention by waving your hands in front of him, yet, you get no response. Exhaling sharply, you grab his face and force him to make eye contact with you, "Are you gonna kiss me or what?!".
"I'm trying but now you've got me all weird and nervous!" he finally says, his face now beet red. "Me?! It's not like we haven't kissed before," you respond defensively. "Not like this! It didn't mean anything before," he trails off, his words getting softer. He sighs, running a hand down his face, "Nobody meant anything before, but you do. And now I'm getting all sappy and gross, can't even fucking kiss you without feeling all anxious and shit! See what you do to me?! I shouldn't have ever-". Reaching up on your tippy toes, you cut him off with a soft kiss. He shuts his eyes and leans into it, wrapping his arms around your waist as he deepens the kiss. His eyebrows knit together, focused on the tender moment before him.
You try to pull back from the kiss to get some air, however, Adam whines and pulls you back in. Chuckling against his lips, your hands run through his soft brown locks of hair. He trails his lips down to your neck where he nuzzles into you, holding you in a firm embrace. "Don't even think about telling people about this," his says, words muffled against your neck.
"'Bout what? You being a big sap?" you tease. "Shut the fuck up," he mutters. "I'm kidding!" you chuckle, lifting his head off your shoulder to see him, "I hope we can do this again sometime.". The angel smiles softly, pulling away from you and standing up straight, "I'll see you soon then. Night.".
"Night."
He walks away from your doorstep, occasionally looking back at you to make sure you got in okay, already planning your next date in his head the whole way home.

hello lovely angel!! humbly requesting zombie!steve au, perhaps more of jealous steve? i love their dynamic so much💗 maybe someone is flirting with reader, and enter protective steve:)
thanks for requesting! fem, 2k
You tend to think of it in two weird halves. You love Steve, and you never would’ve known that without the end of the world, so things are okay. Sometimes you wonder if he ever could’ve loved you if he hadn’t been so close to you for so long, but he loves you in this insane capacity of softness that says otherwise. Like, soulmate style.
It didn’t begin that way. Steve your reluctant guide, and you his unlikely saviour. You’d stopped him from dying at the very start of it all and he couldn’t leave you behind. And Steve, he’d been mean to you. He didn’t want to take care of you initially, but you’d grown to get along. You’d argue black and blue and he’d still rub your back at night.
There are so many moments you’ve shared that make what you have all the more special. A hundred different memories from before you’d ever kissed. You think about it now, watching him across the firepit as he shows a young girl, Cassandra, how to braid her hair.
The one that’s sticking today is when Steve got really bad food poisoning for the first time. When you’d known you were in love with him for a while, and when he’d stopped pretending he didn’t know. He’d been sick everywhere, on both your shoes, and you’d rubbed his back through everything.
It was nice to take care of him. Nicer that night when you’d shared a bed and he’d hugged you half to death.
He has no idea how much he means to you, or how much those moments with him kept you going when you were all alone. You’re lucky now to have found community, but those stolen hours in bed with him hugging him and getting to be his support, you wouldn’t have made it here without them.
“Hey.”
You look up as a man sits down. A boy, a man —what do you call twenty somethings? You don’t feel like a woman most of the time, but you are.
“Hi,” you say.
“I’m Jamison.”
“You’re Eddie’s friend, right?”
“Who, Munson?” Jamison makes a kidding face, a disgusted scrunch of his eyebrows that falls away to more friendly fondness. “Yeah, we go back. You’re Eddie’s friend too, right? I saw you guys taking out some laundry a few days ago.”
Jamison is handsome. He has tan skin, short hair, and a crooked nose. His smile is disarming. If you hadn’t fallen in love with the handsomest guy around, you might feel nervous under his gaze.
Time spent ugly under Steve’s reverent handling makes you confident. You genuinely feel prettier knowing Steve loves you, and it makes it easier to be yourself with strangers.
“Eddie’s awesome,” you say easily. “I thought he was gonna kill me when we first met, but he’s too nice.”
“Nice, really?”
Jamison is casual, as people go. You wonder what his motivations are for talking to you at first, but as conversation stretches, littered with the cracking pops of the fireplace and brief pauses of surprisingly comfortable silence, you realise he’s just talking. Maybe he’s lonely. You know how that feels.
He tells you that he and Eddie had been in a rock band together before the apocalypse. You’d known to some extent that Eddie was in a band, but Jamison tells you all the details you’d been missing. They were called Corroded Coffin, four members, Eddie played guitar and Jamison thought he was pretty fucking good at it, actually.
“I don’t think we would’ve been, like, Metallica. But we could’ve been good. We were gonna make a record.”
You smoke sympathetically. “I bet you could’ve been.”
“What were you doing? Before all this?”
“I honestly barely remember,” you say quietly. Your life before Steve is a blur, and it’s painful, too. “Things are harder now, I know that. I wish every day that we could go back to how things were, you know, I miss TV and grocery stores and my family.” You lick your lips. “I wish things were different, but somehow, I think I like my life now. I have stuff to do. Is that crazy?”
“It’s not crazy. Everything fucking sucks,” —you both laugh— “but that’s not crazy. I’m lucky, I still have my dad, and my friends. There’s purpose in being here.”
You nod emphatically, just once. “Exactly.”
You have purpose, now. You get to be a friend, a girlfriend, a confidente. You take care of people.
It all comes back to Steve, at the end of the day. Would you change the world if it meant never having met him?
Nope.
You glance across the fire for him, but he’s not there.
You put your arm behind your back and bend, looking for him.
“Looking for someone?” Jamison asks.
You deflate with relief when you spot him standing near the gaggle of tents about fifty feet away. He’s looking at you from over Robin’s shoulder. You wave, and he waves back with a big smile.
Something seems a little wrong.
“Steve,” you explain.
“He’s your boyfriend, yeah? Eddie told me you’ve been together since the start.”
You don’t bother correcting him. He might not mean together as how you’re thinking it. “Yeah, that’s him. Have you met him?”
“Kind of. We all thought he was a huge dick, back then.”
“He sort of was,” you say. “I mean, we all had our own stuff going on. I get that I’m biased, but he’s my favourite person I’ve ever met. He’s so kind, I don’t think I could describe it to you or anyone just how much he cares about people. I wouldn’t be here without him, and… I don’t know, I’m not saying you’re wrong, but if you ever wanted to meet him again, he’s amazing. He’s a great friend. He’s so fucking funny, he makes me laugh every day.”
“He’s sort of giving me the stink eye,” Jamison says.
You wave your hand weakly. “He has raging jealousy issues.”
“Shit, am I getting you in trouble?”
“No, never!” you say, tempted to laugh. “He doesn’t get mad at me for stuff like that. He’s normal, I promise. Just sensitive.”
You tell Jamison that it was nice talking to him because it really was, but you’ve been missing Steve for hours already and you need to get back to him before you go totally bonkers.
He’s sitting on the floor in the tent. The weather has been beautiful lately, you could sleep under the stars if you weren’t scared of being zombie charcuterie. Steve has stripped down to just his jeans and socks, no t-shirt or shoes to be seen. He has his sketchbook splayed open on his thigh, but he abandons it the moment you kneel down.
“Hey,” you say.
Steve folds his book closed, pencil between its pages. “Hi. Have I told you lately how beautiful you are?”
You shuffle in to take his hand. Clumsy touches, his fingers warm and a tad clammy between yours. “You told me yesterday that I have a smile like an angel. I know you were kidding, but I still felt it.”
“I wasn’t kidding,” he says, wrinkling his nose with a smile. “You think every compliment is a joke.”
“Don’t make me laugh so much, then.”
He squeezes your fingers gently. “Sorry I didn’t introduce myself to Jamison. Just, I knew him already from school. And he did not like me.”
“That’s okay. He seemed nice, I think you’d get along if you met now.” You kick your shoes off and crawl as close to him as you can get. He looks up at you, but you look down at his lap. “What are you drawing?”
“I was just trying to touch up that landscape I did of the river,” he says, a sheepishness to him as he opens his sketchbook.
You read it with affection, trace lines and hatchings in awe. “Steve, I really wish you had time and space to do this stuff properly. Not that you aren’t doing it properly, just, I know you could make something just as beautiful as this with paint.” You slide to be sitting properly, putting you both at the same height, so you can meet his eyes as you continue. “Did you know what you wanted to do, when you were finishing school? Did you ever think about art?”
“I thought about it.” His lips quirk. “Mostly about how my dad would’ve kicked me out if I said something that stupid.”
“It’s not stupid.”
“I know.”
That would’ve been a nice life. You and Steve living together, with a basement for his paintings, or a garage turned studio. You’d read books together every night like you do now, and you’d scrub paint smudges off of his cheek.
You love him so much it must give you an aura.
“I’ve got nothing to worry about, huh?” he asks softly.
You drift in, tipping your head back for a kiss you don’t take. “I don’t know, Steve, Jamison used to be in a rock band.”
He scoffs in disgust. You think it might be a mixture of anger at Jamison and himself. “Who wants to date a rockstar?”
“I might’ve.”
You’re teasing, of course, smiling as your kiss draws nearer, and nearer.
“Well, I can be a rockstar,” he says quietly, warmth of his breath on your lips. “Just give me a chance to get there.”
You brush the tip of your nose against his and hold your breath. “That’s okay,” you say, letting it rush out of you in a huff, your excitement to be kissed too much to bear, “I like my guys all mixed up. Preferably good at track, and swimming, but with a soft side. Kind of guy who fills a sketchbook up with my face.”
Steve lists to the side. Your lips are so close, you can feel the phantom of them against yours as he moves in. “It’s not just your face… it’s your hands, your arms… your everything–”
He cuts his own explanation off with a soft kiss. That softness swiftly hardens, turns rough, ten long seconds of sweetness before his hands coming up behind your head and he’s pressing inward, deepening the kiss, and giving you little room to breathe.
You have no intention of dating any rockstars, but his jealous streak has nothing but upsides for you. Steve knows that his jealousy over the innocuous is his own problem, his own insecurity that he’s working on, and while you sympathise with him (after all, haven’t you yourself worried he’d find someone else he liked more?), you have to confess to enjoying the edge to his kissing.
You make a pleased, humoured sound as he breathes you in like you’re a drug he’s been waiting for. He gets sloppier, and you can’t help pulling away to laugh.
“What?” he asks, thumbing at your cheek in a soft juxtaposition. “Sorry, am I being a dick?”
“No, it’s fine. Kiss me how you want to.”
Steve kisses your cheek softly. “He knows you have a boyfriend, right?”
“He knows.”
Steve hums like he’s smiling and nudges your nose with his, until you part your lips, and he wades in for another dose.

Bucky sighs, running a hand through his hair as he looks at Steve and Sam, who are both waiting, wide-eyed. “Do you remember that party at John Walker’s house? It was a couple of years after you dropped out, Sam.”
Sam’s eyes narrow, thinking back. “Yeah, I only heard about it because Wanda said it got messy. And Steve… you were the one who became the keg stand champion, right?”
Steve smirks at the memory. “Yeah, that was one for the books. But what’s that got to do with anything?”
Bucky looks down, his voice soft, almost reverent. “That night… something happened between us. We’d been drinking, and one thing led to another. We, uh, we…. slept together.”
There’s a moment of stunned silence. Steve’s eyes go wide, and Sam’s jaw drops. Finally, Steve manages, “Holy crap, Buck. You two just… jumped from being best friends to that?”
Bucky nods, a small, wistful smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “I’d been in love with her for as long as I could remember. And that night… it felt like everything. I thought maybe… maybe it meant the same to her.” His face darkens, his voice dropping. “But when I woke up the next morning, she was gone. Just… vanished. Didn’t say a word. And after that, she wouldn’t even meet my eyes for weeks.”
Sam shakes his head, completely floored. “So you’re telling us that you two had this whole moment… and then she just left?”
“Yeah,” Bucky mutters, still looking down. “I thought maybe she was spooked, it was a lot, so I gave her some space but…” He trails off sighing, “Maybe she regretted it, or felt ashamed. Hell, I even started to think she was disgusted with herself for… being with me.”
Steve rubs his forehead, staring at Bucky with a mix of disbelief and pity. “So you’ve just… never talked about it? Not once?”
“No,” Bucky says with a bitter laugh. “She wouldn’t, and I wasn’t gonna force her to. I figured if she wanted to pretend it never happened, then that’s what we’d do, yknow id do anything for her”
Sam scoffs, shaking his head. “Buck, everyone’s known she’s been in love with you since forever. She probably thought you saw it as a drunken mistake.”
Bucky stares at him, bewildered. “What do you mean?”
“Your reputation in college, at least when I was there” Sam says bluntly. “She probably thought she was just another notch on your belt. Especially if she’d heard any of those rumours.”
Bucky looks between them, realisation dawning as he mutters, “She knew those were just rumours, were best friends, she knows me better than that, right? She had to have known they were just rumours.”
Steve raises an eyebrow. “How was she supposed to know, Buck? Everyone around campus talked about you like you were this heartbreaker, this guy who couldn’t be tied down. Best friend Bucky and relationship you are two different Bucky’s to her… can you blame her for thinking that night didn’t mean anything to you?”
Bucky stares at the floor, his expression twisted with guilt and frustration. “I just… I thought she’d know I’d never do that to her. That she was different, of course she is different it's her, she has to know that!” He clenches his fists. “I thought she was the one regretting it.”
Sam lets out a sigh, leaning forward. “So let me get this straight. You both spent years walking on eggshells, thinking the other didn’t care, and you’re both probably miserable because of it.”
Bucky shakes his head, running a hand through his hair. “It just felt safer to leave it alone. I thought it was better to have her in my life as my best friend than risk losing her altogether. I’d rather have had some of her than none at all.”
Steve shakes his head, a small, sad smile on his face. “You two have been dancing around each other all this time. It’s like you’ve been playing some drawn-out, painful game of cat and mouse.”
Bucky laughs, but it’s hollow. “Guess we’re both idiots.”
Sam gives him a pointed look. “So what are you gonna do about it?”
Bucky looks up, something vulnerable flashing in his eyes. “I don’t know. I thought I’d missed my chance. But… if she still feels the same, if there’s even a part of her that still cares…”
Steve claps him on the shoulder. “Then it’s worth fighting for, Buck. Don’t let another night slip by without her knowing how you feel, you’ve wasted enough time already”
Bucky’s face hardens with resolve, determination mingling with the lingering fear in his eyes. “You’re right. I have to tell her. I just hope… I hope it’s not too late. You’re a good friend, Steve. Thanks for this.”
Steve musters a small, bittersweet smile. “Of course, Buck. Anything for you.”
Inside, though, a quiet ache flares—a familiar, constant ache he’s learned to bury deep down. Unrequited love is painful enough, but what gnaws at Steve isn’t just his own longing. It’s the years he’s spent watching the two people he cares about most teeter on the edge of something real, only to pull back time and again. He’s seen Bucky’s yearning masked as indifference, her stolen glances that went unnoticed, and all the missed moments that could have been… if only one of them had been brave enough.
To Steve, there’s a nobility in his silence—a duty to let them find happiness, even if it’s not with him. It would be easy to resent Bucky for hurting you, for treating your feelings like a burden. But Steve can’t bring himself to feel anything other than empathy. Bucky’s been as lost as you have, caught in a battle he’s too proud or too scared to admit.
He knows, deep down, that his own feelings don’t matter here. What matters is that they have a chance, a real chance, at the happiness he’s always wanted for you, even if its not with him. And if he has to carry his love quietly, if he has to keep his own heartache in check for them, then that’s what he’ll do.
“Go tell her, Buck,” Steve says quietly, the weight of unspoken words heavy in his voice. “And don’t waste a single moment. You both deserve to know the truth.”
Bucky meets his gaze, nodding with a unsure but trusting smile. He has no idea of the sacrifice Steve is making in this moment, Steve watches him, swallowing the longing and sadness that’s always there but will never be voiced. In his own way, he’s choosing love too—a selfless love that finds peace in seeing her happiness, even if it’s not
with him.
Sam glanced at Bucky, his brow furrowing. “Hold on a second, what about Kate?”
Bucky’s face falls at Sam’s question, the name he’s been trying not to think about suddenly hitting him like a weight in his chest. Kate. Sweet, caring, loyal Kate, who had seen the best in him when he couldn’t see it himself, who had been there quietly beside him, hoping he’d come around.
He hesitates, avoiding his friends’ eyes as he tries to gather his thoughts. “I… I don’t know. Kate deserves the truth too. I thought maybe she was what I needed to finally… to finally move on.” He sighs, the regret heavy in his voice. “But that was just me lying to myself. And she doesn’t deserve that.”
Sam nods, a hint of sympathy in his expression. “Kate’s a good person, Buck. She doesn’t deserve to be anyone’s second choice.”
Bucky looks down, guilt clawing at him. “I know. And I hate that I’ve made her one. She should be with someone who’s all in… and that’s not me. It’s not fair to her.”
Steve studies Bucky’s face, understanding but also concerned. “So, you’re going to talk to her?”
Bucky nods slowly. “Yeah. She deserves to know. I need to be honest with her before I can… before I can even think about anything else.”
Steve claps a reassuring hand on his shoulder. “Good. She deserves that much.”
That afternoon, Bucky texts Kate, asking if they can meet up. His heart pounds as he waits for her reply, the thought of ending things with her weighing heavily on his mind. She responds quickly, suggesting they meet at the same little coffee shop from the day before, and he heads there with a mix of dread and resignation.
When he arrives, Kate is already seated at their usual table, a soft smile brightening her face when she sees him. It makes the ache in his chest deepen—he knows that after today, that smile will probably disappear, and he’ll be the one responsible for it.
“Hey,” she says, reaching across the table to squeeze his hand. “You sounded serious in your text. Everything okay?”
Bucky nods, though the heaviness in his gaze betrays him. “Yeah, I… I just needed to talk to you about something. Something I haven’t been fair about.”
Kate’s smile fades slightly, a hint of concern clouding her expression. “What is it?”
He opens his mouth to explain, but the words get stuck, the weight of everything catching up to him. “Kate… I don’t know how to say this. You deserve so much more than I’ve been giving you. I haven’t been fair to you. I haven’t… I haven’t been fully here.”
Kate’s face softens as she reaches out, gently placing her hand over his. “Bucky, I know this hasn’t been easy for you. I know you’re… complicated. But I’m here because I want to be. Because I care about you, whether you’re all in or not.”
He shakes his head, guilt gnawing at him. “You deserve better than ‘complicated,’ Kate. I thought I could be the guy you deserve, but I just… I can’t be.”
She watches him for a long moment, and then her voice drops, quiet but sure. “Bucky, I knew what I was getting into when I fell for you. I know you’re still figuring things out, and I can be patient. I can wait if that’s what you need.”
Her words stop him in his tracks. There’s an unflinching loyalty in her eyes, a warmth and steadiness that he’s never fully appreciated until now. She doesn’t look away, doesn’t flinch, and the weight of her gaze makes his chest tighten.
“Kate, I…” he starts, but she squeezes his hand, stopping him.
“Look, Bucky, I know there are things you haven’t told me, things you don’t think I understand. But I’ve seen the way you look at me, and I think… I think we could really have something if you let us.” Her voice trembles slightly, but she holds his gaze, her own eyes filled with a quiet determination.
For a moment, he’s silent, trying to process what she’s offering him. Kate’s hope, her patience, her willingness to wait for him—it’s more than he deserves, more than he ever thought he’d find with anyone. And he realizes, with a pang, that he can’t bring himself to end things with her today. Not with the sincerity in her voice, the openness in her gaze.
After a long moment, he forces himself to nod. “Thank you, Kate. For… for everything…”
She smiles, a relieved smile that makes him feel even worse, but he doesn’t have the heart to say anything more. The truth—the messy, painful truth—will have to wait. For now, he’ll accept her patience, even if he doesn’t deserve it.
---
You sit back on Natasha’s bed, letting out a long sigh, the wine making you feel just the tiniest bit lightheaded as you stare up at the ceiling.
“I can’t go home,” you mutter. “Bucky’s over at Steve and Sam’s tonight but, when he comes home, I… I just can’t face him right now. Not after everything.”
Natasha gives you a soft smile. “Of course, you can stay here. You’re always welcome.”
Wanda chimes in, wrapping an arm around you. “We’ll have a proper girls’ night. Forget about all that for now.”
You smile, feeling a wave of relief. As you settle back, Natasha glances over at you with a knowing look. “So… what about Dean?”
You groan, rubbing your temples. “Oh, God. I completely forgot about Dean.”
Natasha grins. “I can text him, say you got cold feet or something?”
You shake your head. “No, just… leave it. Honestly, with everything that’s happened… I don’t know. I keep thinking… what if Bucky doesn’t feel that way anymore? What if all of that—what I thought we shared—meant nothing to him?”
Natasha sighs, squeezing your hand. “Look, whatever you decide to do, I’m here. I’ve always got your back, babe.”
She pauses, giving you a smirk. “But you know… we’d choose you in the divorce, right?”
You let out a laugh, grabbing a pillow and swatting her with it. “There will be no choosing! And no divorcing! Bucky and I… we’ve been friends since we were five. I don’t know what I’d do if he… if he really was out of my life for good.”
Natasha’s gaze softens. “Then don’t let him be. You’re braver than you think. Just… be honest with him. You might be surprised by what he has to say.”
You fall quiet, her words lingering, filling you with equal parts hope and dread as you lay back, trying to gather the courage for whatever comes next.
The sun is bright, and the streets are bustling as you and Natasha stroll through the city, bags in hand and laughter spilling between you as you move from shop to shop. It feels like old times, light and easy, and after last night’s heart-to-heart, you’re almost… hopeful.
You’re telling Natasha about the cute little coffee shop you spotted around the corner when, out of the corner of your eye, you catch sight of a familiar head of tousled hair. You stop mid-sentence, freezing as you take in the scene just a few yards away: Bucky, hand in hand with Kate, both of them laughing, utterly absorbed in each other.
Your stomach sinks. You watch, feeling your heart twist as Bucky leans down, pressing a soft kiss to her temple, his smile wide and unguarded in a way you’d never been able to see up close until now. He looks… happy. Truly, genuinely happy.
Natasha’s gaze follows yours, her face tightening with sympathy as she watches you take in the scene. “You okay?” she asks softly, though you can tell from her tone that she already knows the answer.
You tear your eyes away, blinking quickly to clear the sting in your eyes. “Yeah. Yeah, I’m fine. Let’s… let’s just keep going.”
Natasha squeezes your arm, and the two of you turn, heading back down the sidewalk. But as you walk, a hollow feeling settles in your chest, everything from the night before swirling in your mind—the confessions, the memories, the what-ifs. And now… this.
By the time you reach the next shop, you’ve already made up your mind. Bucky Barnes doesn’t think you’re worth it, and that’s that. Whatever you felt, whatever might have been between you in the past, it’s all in your head.
You glance over at Natasha, forcing a smile. “You know what? Let’s just forget about Friday. I’m not gonna… I don’t want to dwell on it anymore. He’s happy. I’m happy for him. I think… I think it’s time to just move on.”
Natasha studies you, a trace of concern in her eyes, but she nods, letting it go for now. “Okay. We’ll let it go. But… if you ever want to talk, you know I’m here.”
You nod, grateful. And just like that, you tuck the memories away, pushing everything—Friday night, college, all of it—back into a box in your mind.
After a long day of shopping, you and Natasha are finally heading back. She raises an eyebrow at the bags in your hands. “You know, you’re welcome to crash at mine again tonight if you don’t feel like facing him.”
You shake your head, trying to laugh it off. “Nah, I’ve got some work I need to finish up on my computer. Plus, I already paid rent for the month, and you know better than anyone how ridiculous rent is in New York. Can’t avoid him forever, right?”
Natasha gives you a look but doesn’t push it. “Well, you know where I am if you change your mind.”
You thank her and give her a quick hug before parting ways, gathering every ounce of courage as you head home. But when you open the door to your apartment, your heart sinks: Bucky’s there, sitting on the couch—with Kate. She’s nestled beside him, looking as comfortable as if she lives there.
As soon as you step in, Bucky’s eyes shoot to yours, and the intensity in them nearly stops you in your tracks. You can read him too well, even now. In those blue eyes, you see a mix of emotions flickering back and forth—regret, sadness, something that almost looks like relief—but you have no idea which is for you and which might be for Kate.
Kate is the first to break the silence, greeting you with a friendly smile. “Hey! How are you? Did you have a good weekend?”
You put on your best casual smile, keeping your gaze mostly on her and avoiding Bucky’s searching eyes. “Yeah, it was nice. Just got a little shopping done with Nat.” You hold up your bags, laughing softly. “Guess I went a little overboard.”
Kate laughs, glancing at the bags. “Looks like you did some damage! Special occasion or just a treat-yourself kind of day?”
You hesitate, then, glancing between the two of them. “Well, I’ve got a date on Saturday,” you say lightly, shrugging. “Needed something nice.”
“Oh!” Kate’s face lights up. “Natasha mentioned that on Friday. I’m so happy for you!” She’s smiling warmly, but you can still feel Bucky’s gaze piercing right into you, as if he’s trying to read something hidden just beneath the surface. He doesn’t say a word.
You force yourself to look away from him, meeting Kate’s eyes. “Thanks,” you say, giving her a polite nod. “Anyway, I should go put all this away.”
“Sure thing!” Kate laughs again. “Hey, if i dont see you before then, good luck on your date—he’s a lucky guy.”
You manage a smile, your heart twisting in ways you don’t want to acknowledge. “Thanks, Kate. You two have a good night.”
As you turn to head to your room, Bucky finally speaks up, his voice a little rough. “You don’t have to go, you know. You can hang out with us.”
You pause, turning just enough to look at him, this is the longest you’ve gone without speaking to him and the words that come out cut your throat, you shake your head. “No, I’m okay James….thanks, though.”
And with that, you disappear into your room, shutting the door softly behind you. Only then do you release the breath you didn’t realize you’d been holding, leaning back against the door and closing your eyes as you try to settle your racing heart.
----
The week passed in a fog of work and silence, each day dragging as you went through the motions with an ache in your chest that you couldn’t shake. It felt surreal to be in the same office as Bucky, the silence between you heavy and stifling. The two of you used to share everything—your worries, victories, and endless conversations. Now, there was a chasm between you, one neither of you seemed willing to bridge. Each day stretched endlessly, and this was the longest you’d gone without speaking to him in as long as you could remember.
At first, you tried to keep things normal, focusing on your work, staying in your lane. But the tension between you was like a third person in the room, and it made everything feel unsteady. You couldn’t help stealing glances at him, watching the way he laughed with the others, though even that sounded hollow. You missed the easy camaraderie, the inside jokes, and the playful banter. Now, every moment felt loaded, thick with unsaid words and unspoken longing.
By Wednesday night, you were drained—emotionally and physically exhausted. You’d promised yourself you’d join the group for Wing Wednesday, but as the day wore on, a familiar dread settled in your stomach. The thought of sitting across from Bucky, acting like everything was fine, felt impossible. So, you stayed home, scrolling mindlessly through your phone, wishing you could shake the emptiness that clung to you.
The next evening, desperate to clear your mind, you found yourself at the grocery store. You wandered the aisles, filling your cart with essentials, hoping the routine task would offer a brief escape. You were reaching for a can on the top shelf when a familiar voice broke through your thoughts.
“Hey! You’re alive!”
You turned to see Steve approaching, a wide grin lighting up his face. He pulled his cart up next to yours, his eyes warm with that steady kindness that always made you feel a bit lighter.
“Yeah, just barely,” you replied with a faint smile. “It’s been… a rough week.”
“We missed you at Wing Wednesday,” he said, his tone light but laced with concern.
You sighed, biting your lip. “Yeah, I just… wasn’t feeling up to it.”
Without asking, he reached over and took a couple of your bags from the cart, lifting them effortlessly. “Let me help you with these.”
You walked beside him, the weight of your bags lightened by his presence. The chill of the evening air hit your face as you stepped outside, a reminder that life was still moving around you, even as you felt stuck.
“Thanks, Steve,” you said, trying to keep your voice steady.
He glanced over, his expression growing serious. “Hey… don’t push the rest of us away. Don’t push me away because of Bucky and his nonsense.”
A sad laugh escaped you, more bitter than you meant it to be. “I’m not trying to, Steve. It’s just… hard. It’s been hard for so long, and… I don’t think I can keep doing this.”
Unshed tears blurred your vision, and you looked down, trying to keep them at bay.
Steve’s expression softened, his voice gentle. “I know exactly what you mean.”
You furrowed your brow, glancing up at him with a mix of confusion and curiosity. “What do you mean?”
For a moment, he seemed to weigh his words, as if deciding how much to reveal. Finally, he sighed, a hint of vulnerability in his gaze. “I’ve been in love with someone too… someone who I know doesn’t feel the same way.”
You felt your heart race, wondering who he could mean. You’d always thought of Steve as your steady friend, the one who was always there. A name popped into your head—Natasha, maybe? She was magnetic, effortlessly commanding any room she walked into.
“Who?” you asked softly, not wanting to pry but unable to help yourself.
He hesitated, his eyes flickering with something you couldn’t quite place, before glancing away as you approached your apartment door. Ignoring your question, he murmured, “There’s a difference, though.”
“What difference?”
He paused, then looked back at you, a weight of unspoken words in his gaze. “Yours… isn’t unrequited like you think it is.”
You blinked, his words sinking in slowly. “What are you saying?”
Steve held your gaze, his voice firm but kind. “I mean, you don’t see how he feels about you. You’re letting your own doubts twist what’s really there. You think he doesn’t want you, but I can tell you he does.” He reached up, gently wiping away a stray tear from your cheek, his hand lingering for a moment longer than necessary.
You swallowed, your heart racing. “Steve, I—”
He raised a hand, gently stopping you. “Just think about it, okay? Don’t shut me out. I know you’re hurting, but… my life without you in it would feel empty.”
He offered a soft, bittersweet smile, and gave your shoulder a reassuring squeeze before turning to go, leaving you standing at your door, heart pounding and mind racing.

Stepping in - October writing challenge day 5
Tumblr media
summary: Emily Prentiss is full of secrets, even when you think you have the key to all of them, she still manages to surprise you. tw: idek why i bother adding these anymore, but anyway, just a pit suggestive towards the end a/n: this one’s a bit shorter, sorry for that. I also might take a break from this if this one flops too. If you want me to keep writing then remember any kind of feedback is greatly appreciated!
"Honey! I'm home" you sing-sang entering through the door of her apartment. Emily doesn't answer, just like she hadn't answered the bell that you pressed before using the key she had given you to enter yourself.
"Emily! I got takeout, and a piece of cake for dessert." You try again, still no answer
"I was gonna bring wine, but I thought you would have better choices than whatever i could come up with, anyway" you try again, still no answer.
Leaving the bags on the kitchen table, you say hello to Sergio, who welcomes you by wrapping himself around your legs "Hey bud, where's your mom?" you ask him, scratching his head.
Still nothing, of course Sergio hadn't answered, not even meowed, so you walk around trying to find your girlfriend, wondering if she had gone out.
On your way through the hall, you notice the muffled sound of water running, and you follow it to the bathroom to finally find your girlfriend in the shower.
However, it's the other sound that surprises you, along with the shower, you can hear Emily's voice, and she is singing to herself, her voice soft and sweet, but she's fully into it, unaware that you have entered the apartment, and that you're listening.
You lean against the bathroom door, grinning at the soft and melodic sound of your girlfriends voice. You can't help but to feel a bit guilty about taking a peak like that, but you can't really help it, you had never heard Emily sing.
“Oh wow, so this is where you’ve been hiding your secret talent.” you finally say.
Emily's singing abruptly stops when she finally hears you “What the—?! You were eavesdropping?” she says startled by your sudden intrusion.
You laugh, opening the door just a crack “Eavesdropping? No, just appreciating the unexpected concert. You have a beautiful voice, you know.”
She mocks groaning, but you can hear her laughing “Ugh, no way. It’s terrible. Now I’m embarrassed.”
“Well, now that you’ve been caught, you might as well finish the song. You can’t leave your audience hanging.” You tease her.
“Oh, you want a private performance, huh?” Emily says playfully.
You lean against the doorframe. “I mean, I wouldn't say no.”
"Hey and by the way, what are you doing here, sneaking around? Thought I locked the door.” She says, trying to change the subject.
You smirk as you take a step inside the bathroom “I have a key, remember? Thought I’d surprise you with some takeout, but you’re the one full of surprises, I mean, how could i not know you sang in the shower baby?” You still can't shake your excitement of your new discovery away.
“Okay, maybe I do sing sometimes… when I think I’m alone. But you can’t tell anyone.” She says, peaking out from behind the shower screen with a grin.
“Your secret’s safe with me, as long as I get an encore.” you tease, crossing your arms.
“Why do I feel like I’m gonna regret giving you a key?” she says mocking an exasperated sigh.
You step closer “You love it and you know it.”
“You’re right. I do.” her voice lowers playfully “And I love it even more when you show up like this, without warning.”
“Oh, yeah?” you tild your head, amused.
“Yeah. You know… we still have time before dinner. Why don’t you get in here with me?” Her tone turns suggestive, her hand reaching out to you.
You raise an eyebrow, pretending to sound hesitant “Hmm, I don’t know… I mean, I came all the way here for you to sing to me, not the other way around.”
Emily laughs and shakes her head, tugging you gently closer “Trust me, I’ll make it worth your while.” her voice drops even lower “Now get in here before I drag you in myself.”
“Well, when you put it like that…” you grin, leaning into her touch.
She is already eager, her hands slipping to the hem of your shirt, tugging it up “Let me help you with that.” her hands move quickly, gently, undressing you with a soft urgency.
You laugh softly as she pulls your shirt off “Wow, you’re not wasting any time, huh?”
Emily grinning as she continues undressing you, her voice soft but teasing “Nope. I’ve got you here now, and I’m not letting you get away that easily.”
You step into the shower with her, the warm water cascading over both of you “I guess I should interrupt your shower more often.”
Emily wraps her arms around you, pulling you in closer “You should. But next time, maybe warn me. Or don’t… I kind of like being caught off guard.”
“Good to know.” you say, smiling against her lips.
Emily kisses you back eagerly, her hands exploring your skin under the water “Now… where were we?”
The warm water streams down as Emily pulls you closer, her arms wrapping securely around your waist, her lips barely leaving yours. She finally breaks the kiss, leaning back just enough to look into your eyes, her hands resting on your hips.
“You know,” she murmurs, her voice soft and filled with affection, “you walking into my apartment like it’s yours… it drives me crazy. In the best way.”
You smile, brushing a strand of wet hair away from her face. “I mean, it kinda feels like home now.”
Emily’s eyes soften even more at your words. She presses a kiss to your forehead. “It is your home, whenever you want it to be.”

Dean groaned, leaning back in his seat and glaring at Sam, who was pacing around the motel room. “For the last time, Sammy, this is a stupid idea. A Halloween party? Really? That’s your idea of a good time?”.
Sam stopped and sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Come on, Dean, it’s not just about the party. It’s been ages since I’ve done anything remotely normal. Besides, I’m nervous about seeing Lina again”.
Dean shot him a look, his brow furrowed. “Lina? The chick from the coffee shop a few weeks ago?”.
Sam nodded. “Yeah. She invited me to this thing, and I don’t wanna go alone. It’s been forever since I’ve been to something like this, and I don’t wanna screw it up”.
Dean rolled his eyes. “So let me get this straight. You want me to tag along to some stupid party because you’re too nervous to talk to some girl? Dude, you’ve faced down demons and vampires, and you’re freaking out over this?”.
Sam gave him a pleading look. “It’s different, Dean. You know it is. She’s… she’s different”.
Dean groaned again, tossing his hands in the air. “Fine, but I’m not dressing up. I’ll go, I’ll stand there, and I’ll drink their bad punch or whatever. But don’t expect me to pretend like I’m enjoying it”.
Sam smirked, a bit of relief washing over his face. “Deal. Thanks, man. I owe you one”.
Dean shook his head, standing up and grabbing his jacket from the back of the chair. “Yeah, you owe me more than one for this”, he muttered, slipping the jacket on.
“It won’t be that bad, Dean. Just try to relax. Lina’s cool, and I’m sure her friends are too”.
Dean shot him a skeptical glance. “Yeah, sure, because that’s what I need. Small talk with a bunch of strangers while you’re off making eyes at Lina. Sounds like a hell of a night”.
“Look, I just… I don’t know, man. It’s been a while since I’ve tried to date. What if I mess this up?”.
Dean’s expression softened, just a little. He sighed, then clapped Sam on the shoulder. “You’re not gonna mess it up. Just be yourself. She invited you for a reason, right? Just don’t overthink it”.
Sam nodded, but Dean could see the nerves were still there. He was rarely this wound up unless it was something serious.
“Come on, let’s hit the road before you start hyperventilating”, Dean said, making his way to the door.
A week later, Halloween finally arrived, and despite all of Sam’s attempts to get Dean into the spirit of things, Dean refused to even consider wearing a costume. As Sam finished getting ready, slipping into his vampire getup, Dean just leaned against the Impala, arms crossed, shaking his head in disbelief.
When Sam walked out of the motel room, fangs in place and a cape trailing behind him, Dean immediately burst out laughing. "You’ve gotta be kidding me, Sam. A vampire? Really? After everything we’ve been through? You want me to take you seriously when you look like that?".
Sam rolled his eyes and adjusted the cape. “Yeah, laugh it up, Dean. It’s Halloween. I’m trying to blend in, unlike some people”.
Dean smirked as he opened the car door. “I don’t need a costume to look good. Besides, you realize the irony, right? A vampire hunter dressing as a vampire. You’re asking for bad luck here”.
Sam slid into the passenger seat, ignoring his brother’s teasing. “It’s just a costume. Relax. And I didn’t exactly have time to come up with anything else, considering how you kept shooting down all my ideas”.
Dean laughed as he started the engine. “Dude, you wanted me to dress up as a werewolf! We hunt werewolves! What were you thinking?”.
Sam raised an eyebrow. “Better than not dressing up at all. You’re gonna be the only person there not in costume”.
Dean grinned as he pulled out of the parking lot. “Yeah, well, someone’s gotta be the cool one".
Sam shook his head, but he couldn’t help the small smile that crept onto his face. The familiar banter between them helped calm his nerves, even if Dean’s sarcasm was relentless. The truth was, Sam was still nervous about seeing Lina again. The party wasn’t just a Halloween get-together; it felt like a real step forward with her, and he didn’t want to mess it up.
As they drove, Dean couldn’t resist making more jokes. “So, when you see Lina tonight, are you gonna sparkle in the moonlight, or should I call you Count Samula?”.
Sam groaned. “Seriously, Dean, let it go”.
But Dean just chuckled, keeping his eyes on the road. “I’m just saying, you’re giving me a lot of material here. Don’t be surprised if someone at the party mistakes you for the real deal”.
Sam sighed, leaning back in his seat, trying to tune out Dean’s relentless teasing. He knew Dean was only giving him a hard time to ease his anxiety, but that didn’t make it any less annoying.
After what felt like an endless barrage of vampire jokes, they finally pulled up to the house where the party was being held. It was decked out with Halloween decorations—fake cobwebs, glowing jack-o'-lanterns, and a skeleton hanging from the porch. The muffled sound of music and laughter spilled out into the yard as they approached the front door.
Dean parked the Impala and glanced over at Sam, who was fidgeting with his costume again. “Alright, you ready for this, Count?”.
Sam took a deep breath and nodded. “Yeah. I’m ready”.
Dean gave him a small, genuine smile, one that told Sam his brother had his back, no matter how much he made fun of him. “Go get ‘em, tiger—or, uh, bat. Whatever you are”.
Sam rolled his eyes once more, but couldn’t help the chuckle that slipped out. "Thanks, man".
They stepped out of the car and made their way toward the party, Sam adjusting his fangs one last time while Dean, in his usual jacket and jeans, stuffed his hands in his pockets. He might not have been dressed up, but he was still scanning the place with a hunter’s eye, watching everything, even in what was supposed to be a laid-back situation.
As they reached the door, Sam hesitated for a second before knocking. Dean caught the look on his face and nudged him. “Relax, Sam. You’ve got this. Just go in, have a good time, and stop overthinking everything”.
Before Sam could reply, the door swung open, revealing Lina, dressed as a classic movie star in a sleek, black dress and gloves. Her eyes lit up when she saw Sam. “Hey, you made it!”, she exclaimed, smiling wide.
Sam’s nervousness melted away as he smiled back at her, stepping inside. Dean followed, keeping his distance, though he made sure to give Sam a small, approving nod. It wasn’t exactly his scene, but for his brother? He could handle a few hours of lame costumes and bad music.
Lina led Sam deeper into the party, and as they mingled with her friends, Dean hung back by the snack table, grabbing a beer and observing the crowd. It was all normal, but Dean couldn’t shake the feeling that something about the night might turn out to be more than just a harmless Halloween party.
But for now, he watched Sam, relieved to see his brother smiling, laughing, and, for once, not worrying about monsters or demons.
That was enough for Dean—for now.
Dean took a sip of his beer, scanning the room lazily when something—or rather someone—caught his eye.
In the kitchen, he spotted you, probably the hottest little police officer he’d ever seen, struggling to reach a stack of red cups on the top shelf. Your short, dark dress was riding up dangerously as you stretched on your tiptoes, clearly trying to avoid asking anyone for help.
Dean raised an eyebrow, smirking to himself. Well, you were also the tiniest police officer he’d ever seen. He watched for a moment longer as you muttered something under your breath—probably cursing quietly at your predicament. Amused and unable to resist, he set his beer down and pushed away from the wall, making his way toward you.
Leaning casually against the doorframe, Dean tilted his head slightly and quirked a smile. “Need a hand there, Officer Short Stuff?”.
You froze mid-reach, startled by the sudden voice behind you. Turning your head, you narrowed your eyes at him, though there was a hint of a smirk playing at your lips. “Officer Short Stuff? Really? That’s the best you’ve got?”.
Dean shrugged, completely unfazed, as he stepped into the kitchen. “Well, I call it like I see it”. He moved past you, effortlessly grabbing the stack of cups from the shelf and handing them to you with a grin. “You’re welcome”.
You took the cups, giving him a slightly suspicious look, though you couldn’t help but chuckle. “Thanks, I guess”.
Dean leaned against the counter, folding his arms over his chest as he looked you up and down, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “So, let me guess. You’re here to keep all of us in line? Make sure none of these crazies get too out of hand?”.
You gave him a playful smile, setting the cups down on the counter and turning to face him. “Maybe. Or maybe I’m just here to arrest anyone who makes bad jokes about my height”.
Dean chuckled, that low, gravelly laugh of his, shaking his head. “Good thing I didn’t make any jokes then. Just speaking the truth”.
You raised an eyebrow, crossing your arms. “Uh-huh. And what about you? What’s your excuse for not being in costume?”.
Dean shrugged, glancing down at his usual jacket and jeans. “I’m wearing one. I’m the guy who saves the world from monsters and bad beer. Pretty convincing, huh?”.
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help laughing. “Right. Well, your undercover work needs some fine-tuning”.
He smirked, clearly enjoying himself. “Maybe. But I think I’ve got this situation under control”.
There was a brief pause as the two of you exchanged glances, and you couldn’t help but notice the way his eyes lingered on you—confident but not overly cocky. Just enough to make you feel a bit flustered.
“So, what brings you here, anyway?”, you asked, leaning back against the counter across him. “Doesn’t seem like you’re the party type”.
Dean glanced toward the crowd for a second, his expression softening slightly as he nodded toward Sam, who was deep in conversation with Lina. “My little brother dragged me here. First date with that girl he’s been talking about. Figured I’d play the good wingman for the night”.
You followed his gaze and smiled at the sight of Sam, who looked much more relaxed now, happily chatting with Lina. “That’s sweet. You know, for a guy who doesn’t wear costumes, you’re a decent brother”.
Dean chuckled, turning back to you. “Don’t go spreading that around. I’ve got a reputation to maintain”.
You smirked, your eyes meeting his again. “Don’t worry. Your secret’s safe with me”.
For a moment, there was a comfortable silence between you, and Dean felt something stir—a familiar, easy attraction that made him forget for a second about the constant weight he carried. Here, right now, he could just enjoy the conversation, the way your eyes sparkled when you teased him, and the effortless way the banter flowed between you.
“So, Officer”, he said, leaning in just a little, his voice low and playful. “What’s the penalty for distracting a cop from her duties?”.
You smiled, biting your lip slightly as you pretended to think. “Well, that depends. Are you planning on being a repeat offender?”.
Dean’s grin widened. “Oh, absolutely”.
You smirked at Dean’s playful response, your hand casually resting on the pair of handcuffs clipped to your belt. “Well, if you’re planning on being a repeat offender”, you began, toying with the metal cuffs, “maybe I should go ahead and arrest you now. Save myself the trouble later”.
Dean’s gaze dropped to the handcuffs, his smirk growing as he reached out and, without hesitation, gripped them lightly, testing their weight. He raised an eyebrow, his expression intrigued as he realized they were the real deal. “Well, look at that. You’re not just dressed as a cop, huh? These are actual handcuffs”, he said, his voice low and teasing.
You leaned in slightly, your lips curling into a mischievous smile. “What, you think I’m not a real officer? Could’ve fooled you, huh?”.
Dean’s eyes flickered with amusement, his grip on the handcuffs still firm as he toyed with the chain between them. “I’ve gotta say, this just got a lot more interesting. So, Officer… are you planning on using these tonight?”. His voice was laced with humor, but there was a flicker of something more dangerous, a challenge hidden beneath the surface.
You raised an eyebrow, your arms crossed, pretending to consider it. “Depends. Are you going to give me a reason to?”.
Dean chuckled, finally letting go of the cuffs but not breaking eye contact with you. “Sweetheart, I’ve been giving people reasons to arrest me for years. You sure you can handle that?”.
You smirked, leaning in even closer, your voice dropping to a low, teasing whisper. “Handle you, huh? You might be the one who’s in over his head. I’ve got plenty of ways to keep you in line”. You gave him a slow, deliberate once-over, your eyes sparkling with mischief.
Dean’s grin widened, clearly enjoying every second of the exchange. “Oh yeah? I’m almost tempted to act up just to see what you’ve got planned”. His voice was thick with suggestion, and you could feel the tension simmering between you, neither of you backing down from the game.
“Careful. I’ve got some special skills when it comes to making sure bad boys like you behave”.
His eyes darkened slightly, the playful edge not fading but shifting into something a little more dangerous, more tempting. “Special skills, huh? You’ve got me curious now. How exactly do you plan on keeping me in line? I’m not exactly known for following orders”.
You took a step closer, your lips just inches from his, your voice a seductive purr. “Oh, I’m sure I could find a way to tie you down. Keep you in check. Handcuffs are just the beginning”.
Dean raised an eyebrow, looking at you like you were the best challenge he’d faced in a long time. “I think you’re underestimating just how much trouble I can cause. But I’ve gotta admit, you’re making it sound pretty damn tempting”.
You leaned even closer, your breath brushing against his ear as you whispered, “Oh, I’m not underestimating you. In fact, I think I’d enjoy making sure you stay right where I want you. Let’s just say, I’m very… hands-on with my approach”.
Dean’s breath hitched slightly at your words, but he recovered quickly, his smirk never fading. “Hands-on? Sounds like a party I’d definitely stick around for”. He tilted his head, eyes locking with yours. “But tell me this, Officer. When you finally get those cuffs on me, what are you gonna do next?”.
Your smirk widened as Dean’s last words hung in the air. Without warning, you made your move—fast and smooth, taking him completely by surprise. In a fluid motion, you grabbed his wrist and spun him around, pressing his chest against the kitchen island before he even had a chance to react.
Dean’s eyes widened in shock as you swiftly snapped the cuffs around his wrists, his hands locked together behind his back. He let out a low laugh, his cheek pressed against the cold countertop. “Well, damn. Didn’t see that coming”, he muttered, clearly impressed despite himself.
You grinned, stepping back slightly to admire your work, your eyes gleaming with victory. “Guess I wasn’t exaggerating about being hands-on, was I?”. You leaned in close again, your voice low and teasing as you spoke right next to his ear. “How does it feel?".
Dean shifted slightly against the cuffs, testing them, but you had them secured tightly. He let out another chuckle, low and rough. “Alright. I’ve gotta give it to you—you’ve got some skills". His voice dropped, filled with that unmistakable mix of humor and challenge. “But you know, this only makes me want to break a few more rules”.
You grinned, stepping around the island to face him, eyes dancing with amusement. “I don’t think you’re supposed to enjoy this so much”.
Just as you were about to reply to Dean’s playful challenge, the sound of footsteps approaching interrupted the moment. You glanced toward the doorway, and there stood Sam and Lina. Sam took one look at his brother cuffed on the kitchen island and let out a long, exasperated sigh.
“What did you do this time, Dean?”, Sam asked, his voice half-resigned, half-amused.
Dean, ever the opportunist, turned his head as much as he could and flashed his brother a grin. “Hey, I’m the victim here. Officer Short Stuff took me down without warning”.
You raised an eyebrow, leaning back slightly with a smirk. “So, Dean’s the name, huh?”.
Dean gave a low chuckle, still pinned against the countertop. “Yeah, well, now you know what name to shout when you need backup”.
You rolled your eyes, gripping his arm and helping him stand up—though not without a little roughness, just to remind him who was still in charge. His wrists remained cuffed behind his back as he straightened up, a smirk still firmly in place on his face.
Meanwhile, Lina leaned against the doorframe, watching the entire scene unfold with an amused expression. “You know”, she said with a grin, “I always said you were good at your job. But damn, girl, you don’t waste any time. Got him cuffed and everything. I’m impressed”.
You shot Lina a playful look, folding your arms as you leaned back against the counter. “Hey, what can I say? When you’ve got a troublemaker like this on your hands, you have to act fast”, you teased. “Besides, I thought I’d give him a taste of what real discipline feels like”.
Lina laughed, shaking her head. “Oh, I don’t doubt it. You’ve always been the one to take charge. Poor Dean never had a chance”.
Dean, still cuffed and watching the exchange, raised an eyebrow. “Poor Dean, huh? I don’t know, I think I’m doing just fine”. he said, grinning shamelessly. “But, you know, Officer, it’s probably a good idea to uncuff me now… unless you plan on keeping me tied up all night”.
You glanced at him, smirking as you considered his words. “Well, maybe that’s exactly what I had in mind. Keep you out of trouble, right?”.
Dean chuckled, his voice low and smooth. “Trust me, sweetheart, trouble’s a lot more fun when I’m not cuffed”.
With a mock sigh of reluctance, you finally stepped behind him and pulled the key from your belt, unlocking the handcuffs with a quick click. Dean flexed his wrists, rubbing them slightly as he turned to face you. “Thanks", he said, his tone teasing. “But next time, I might not go so easy on you”.
You raised an eyebrow at that, smirking as you pocketed the cuffs. “Next time, huh? Sounds like you’re already planning on breaking the law again”.
Dean winked, leaning in just a little closer. “Only if you’re the one bringing me in”.
Lina, who had been watching the entire exchange with barely contained amusement, shook her head with a grin. “Alright, lovebirds, let’s not get carried away”.
You shot her a playful look. “Don’t worry, Lina. I’ve got everything under control. Someone’s gotta keep an eye on this one”.
Dean gave a mock salute, grinning like he was enjoying every second of the attention. “And what a view it is”, he said, earning a playful nudge from you as Sam rolled his eyes.
Sam shook his head, grinning as he looked between you and Dean, clearly more amused than exasperated. “Alright, I think Dean’s got… something to take care of”, he said, his voice laced with humor. “Let’s get going before we witness something we definitely don’t want to”.
Lina laughed, nudging Sam with her elbow. “Yeah, I think we’ve seen enough flirting for one night. Let’s give these two some space”.
You shot Sam a playful glare, though you couldn’t hide the smile tugging at the corners of your mouth. “Oh, please, Sam. You make it sound like something’s actually going to happen”.
Dean raised an eyebrow, his smirk growing. “Who says it won’t?”.
Lina groaned dramatically, grabbing Sam’s arm. “Alright, that’s our cue to leave. Enjoy yourselves, guys”, she said with a wink, pulling Sam out of the kitchen as they made their way back into the party, leaving you and Dean alone once again.
As soon as they were out of earshot, Dean turned to you, his signature grin still firmly in place. “Well, they were quick to leave. Guess that means we’re all alone now”, he said, his voice dropping just enough to send a shiver down your spine.
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help the way your pulse quickened. “You’re trouble, Dean”.
Dean chuckled, stepping a little closer. “I think you’re starting to like that about me”.
Two hours later, the party was still in full swing, but you and Dean had found yourselves gravitating toward each other, the banter between you growing more heated with every passing minute. The air around you both felt thick, charged with an undeniable tension that neither of you could ignore. Every teasing word, every subtle touch, every glance shared only made it harder to keep things light.
You were standing near the back of the room now, tucked into a quieter corner as the party buzzed around you. Dean had been throwing playful comments your way all night, pushing the line with each one. It was like a game, one that neither of you seemed to want to end—but also didn’t want to lose.
Dean leaned in a little closer, his breath warm against your ear as he spoke, his voice low and husky. “You know”, he drawled, that signature smirk plastered across his face, “I think the backseat of my car is practically screaming for us right now”.
You glanced up at him, your heart skipping a beat at the suggestion. There was that spark in his eyes, the one that promised he wasn’t joking—not entirely. You felt the heat rise in your cheeks, but you weren’t one to back down easily, not when you had the upper hand.
Raising an eyebrow, you replied with a teasing smirk, “Oh, is that so? I thought you were all about being a gentleman”.
Dean chuckled, his green eyes darkening with the weight of the moment as he leaned even closer, his lips just a breath away from yours. “Oh, sweetheart, I can be a gentleman. But I get the feeling you might want something a little more… not so gentleman like tonight”.
Your breath hitched, your pulse racing as his words sent a jolt of heat through you. The tension between you two was almost unbearable now, a palpable charge that had been building all night. You could feel the pull, that magnetic draw that made you want to throw caution to the wind and close the gap between you.
You bit your lip, meeting his gaze head-on. “Maybe I do. Or maybe I just like keeping you on your toes”.
Dean’s smirk widened, his hand resting casually on the small of your back as he leaned in, his lips grazing the shell of your ear. “I’ve been on my toes all night, and let me tell you, sweetheart, you’re killing me here".
The air around you seemed to hum, the noise of the party fading into the background as everything else blurred out. It was just you and Dean now, standing so close that every breath felt like a shared promise.
You could barely breathe, and neither could he. The weight of your back-and-forth flirting had built up into something more—something neither of you could resist any longer.
“So”, Dean whispered, his voice rough with desire, “what’s it gonna be? Are we doing this, or are we just going to keep playing games?”.
Your heart pounded in your chest, the temptation of his offer heavy in the air between you. Your gaze flickered to the door, then back to him. You could almost feel the heat radiating off him, his body inches from yours, the promise of what could happen hanging between you like a challenge.
You let out a slow breath, your lips curling into a wicked smile. “Let’s find out what that backseat has to offer”.
Dean’s grin widened, his eyes lighting up with excitement. “I knew you were trouble”.
Without another word, he grabbed your hand, leading you out of the house and toward the Impala parked just outside. The cool night air hit your skin as you made your way to the car, but the heat between the two of you didn’t diminish. If anything, it burned brighter.
Dean opened the door, the faint smell of leather filling the air as you glanced at the backseat. His hand on your waist brought you back to him, and you turned just in time to see him lean down, his lips finally crashing into yours in a kiss that felt like it had been building for hours—fiery, intense, and full of all the things you both had been holding back.
The backseat of the Impala had never felt more inviting.

Note
ive been in the mood for some angst, some good ol' hurt/comfort or even hurt/no comfort. how would the 141 react to finding out their s/o has been kidnapped? their reactions to finding the ransom note, and how they would get their beloved back?
I wrote headcanons for this.... And then I wasn't happy with it, but I liked the headcanons enough to not want to get rid of them so I apologize if it's a mess. It's been a really emotional and draining couple days for me. But I wanted to get something out even if this was all I could produce.
Price 🥃
Don't mess with him. You mess with him or his family and he'll rock your shit. He is brutal and I know we all like to pretend he's the loving father figure he is 100% of the time but truth is this man is ruthless.
It doesn't matter who he has to kill to get you back he will. Whatever or whoever stands in his way between him and you is gonna get got.
This is pretty much true for all of the guys. But Price is that, I've been married for like 11 years don't fuck with my family.
When Price finds the note he's rightfully furious, he's scared, but overall he's furious that they would dare to put their hands on you. To take you away and then threaten him with your demise, of worse.
Giving Price exactly 48 hours to hand over the money whatever organization wanted it wasn't a smart option. In fact, none of this was smart. The note mentioned what would become of you if the instructions were not followed.
He tucked the note in his pocket and without hesitation he dialed the phone number that was on the paper. He remained calm, as he did with any enemy.
"If you think of hurting them, I will not hesitate to kill you." Said in a low voice. The kind that remains calm but you can tell he means every word coming out of his mouth.
"We won't have to hurt them if you give us what we want." The soldier on the other line sneered.
John was absolutely terrified inside. He knew how to handle this situation with civilians and his own teammates but this was you. You. What If they killed him or he didn't get there in time??
He didn't hesitate before doing a deep dive on the organization as far as the eye could see. The idiot stupid enough to leave his phone number got their 20 second call tracked and he didn't need to have the location before he was up and out.
He'd either bring a team or go alone but knowing Price he'd probably go alone. Brutal killing. Brutal killing.
I mean all the normal military stuff but with some extra aggression. Affectionate dad mode has turned into 'Slaughter everything that ever moved with extra violence husband mode.'
He searches every room and he doesn't stop until he knows their dead. He'd leave a few lost soldiers in favor of getting to you. While he would kill them all his main priority is finding you and making sure you're ok.
Lots of kisses and reassurance when he finds you alive and ok. If you're unharmed he probably untie you from your holding place and pull you in tightly, kissing you and hugging you, telling you he's here. He's here and it's ok. Nothing, nothing will ever hurt you. Not on his watch.
"I've got you love, I've got you." He kisses your forehead, then your lips. "I'm here darling, you're ok, you're safe."
You fall into his arms, crying and grabbing onto him tightly. "I thought they were going to killed me- John!"
Price holds you tightly, kissing the side of your head. "Oh love I'd never let that happen, I would never let that happen you hear me??" You still cry, grabbing onto him even as he picks you up, holding you in his arms as if he would protect you from the whole world. And he would. Nothing would ever hurt you.
If you are injured then all those dead men out there?? Oh yeah, he's going to shoot all of them again just for good measure. If you are hurt any leniency he had for soldiers still hiding around the place is gone. Will blow up the facility. To pieces. Fucking bye!
You whimpered, looking up at him, blood trickling down your forehead into your eye and matted in your hair. "John...." Price cut your bindings and pulled you into his arms.
"They hurt you... Which one of them hurt you!?"
You grabbed onto him, shaking and crying as he wraps his arms around you. "I'll kill them all. I'll kill them for what they've done. They won't lay another hand on you." He growls, holding you close.
He gets you home and doesn't leave your side, but you don't mind the cuddles and how he stays up later than usual that night keeping his eye on you that he falls asleep next to you on the couch.
If you come back injured he tends to your wounds, lays you down in bed and stays awake with your head on his chest, stroking his hand through your hair and over your scalp, feeling your warmth and comfort in knowing you came out ok.
"How are you feeling?"
"Still shaken up." You whisper, nuzzled up against his chest, laying under his chin. "You?"
"Just glad you're alive. So so glad you're alive." He hugs you tightly, kissing your head. "I love you." You snuggle up, tears rolling down your cheeks. "I know you'll always be to my rescue John."
"Always, I won't ever let someone hurt you like that. Never."
Gaz 🧢
Gaz can do ok with confrontation. Even though he doesn't like it, he usually lets his gun do all his talking for him. The barrel to their face and they usually shut up pretty quickly.
Gaz definitely leaves the intimidation up to his weapons. But when you're kidnapped and taken hostage? Fuck that. Fuck all of that. You are feeling the full force fury of one Kyle Garrick and you don't want that.
The fuck around and find out type.
A little better at regulating his emotions when he finds the note. When he reads it his face is full of rage if you look into his eyes. The scowl forming is palpable to his rage. Crumpling the note up in his hand before dropping it to the ground.
He doesn't hesitate to grab his gun, his hat and his car keys. Someone is gonna get their ass beat.
It's on the way that he gets a call from the people who have kidnapped you, giving him a verbal warning of the damage you would suffer in the next 48 hours if the deal wasn't closed.
"You have 48 hours to get me that money do you understand?? Or your love is bye-bye."
Kyle remains silent on the phone, glaring down the drive, his foot pressing into the pedal. "Every finger you put on their skin, I'll cut it off." He hisses before ending the call.
Their first mistake was giving Kyle their location to meet. Gaz is wicked with technology when he gets his hands on it.
When they tell him where to meet and drop the money he does a quick search, surveying the area and finding all possible exits, entry roads. Buildings, abandoned or not. All while still in the car.
When he finds an old abandoned warehouse with some built in security perimeters he figures it's his good first bet.
Again, his gun does the talking. And his gun has one nasty bite. By the time he's tromped through the enemy troops he's dripping I'm blood because once he shoots he just keeps trucking. Dropping the entrance and eventually when he finds some men in the room with you it's all fists.
He wants a good fight and they don't even get a chance before Kyle has them on the ground giving them the beating of their life.
If he finds you uninjured he'll rush to you and make sure you know you're safe, then untie you and hold you in his arms, kissing you until he runs out of air.
"I'm here baby, I'm here. Come here, come on, let's get you home." Kissing your temple as he picks you up and carries you out. "Shh, I'm here now, I'm so glad you're ok." He kneels in front of you, untying you and pulling you into his arms.
"Kyle-" you look back at the men, bloodied and dead. You cling onto Kyle with tears in your eyes, shaking in his arms. "They were going to kill me...."
"I'd never let that happen. And their damn fools if they think they would get away with this." He looks into your eyes. "I'm right here ok? You're ok."
If you are injured he'll gently pick you up in his arms and carry you back, treating your wounds and then holding you close to him.
"Shh," He pushes a strand of your hair back, settling you in his lap, his bloodied hand running through the blood that runs down your nose and your lip. "They can't lay another hand on you." He shakes a little, tear rolling down his cheek as he kisses your forehead, relieved to feel your warm body in his hands. "I love you so much. I love you so much." He whispers.
Arms wrapped under your, cupping your back to keep you close to him throughout the entire night. Reassured whatever state you're in, you're home. You're back home with him and nothing will ever hurt you.
You comb your fingers over his scalp, glad to be wrapped in his strong embrace. "I love you Kyle." You whisper. Kyle nods, pulling you as close as he possibly can. "I love you even more."
Ghost 💀
You'd think this would be easy, but it's actually not. Simon's reaction would be similar but could go one of two ways. He'd either be blood thirsty, angry. Carnage, teeth ripping, flesh tearing, head snapping psycho angry. Or he'd be worrying about your safety, pacing back and forth looking for any way, any how he could get you back. Both emotions are present in both cases but one would be more dominant.
So let's say he's both. He finds the note and he's furious. He's absolutely blood red visioned. But he knows if he does anything rash it could cost you your life.
Again, he'd either be the type to go on his own or call his team. But he'd only call his team if he seriously, seriously thought maybe he wouldn't be able to save you and not himself.
The note was easy, finding finger prints on the thing was like second nature to scan. Identifying those fingerprints with help from a friend, also pretty easy.
With his 48 hour slot to either complete the deal or sacrifice your life he set off to find you. Armed to the teeth. Quite literally.
And once he got to the base you know what happens. Ghost do what Ghost does. Carnage. Blood and limbs torn. His gun being his main weapons but like Gaz was not afraid to get his hands soaked in that moment.
He wanted to go rage on the whole base but his objective was you. Snuck in, took out anyone in his way and found you.
If you're uninjured he'll rush to you and make sure you're awake. He'll immediately cut your bindings and pull you up into his arms. He can embrace you and kiss you when you're safe. But rest assured now that you're in his arms he won't let you go. He gets the car far enough away and pulls you into his arms, kissing you until he can't breathe.
He pulls you from the corner of the room into his arms. "I'm here, I'm here love don't worry." He holds you close, hiding you in his embrace as he brings you back out of the base and to the car. When he gets to safely away you start to cry.
"Simon," you cling onto him, shaking and relieved.
"I got you baby, I've got you." He whispers, pulling up his mask and kissing you. Kissing you until he was sure you wouldn't disappear into thin air. "I'm right here, I'm going to get you home." He runs his thumb over your cheek, relieved your alive.
He's lost family members like this before, he'd never want to lose you to that. And he almost did. He almost lost the most important person in his life.
If you are injured fuck stealth. All those men?? He'll slaughter and bludgeon all of them so badly their families won't know who their burying. That's that happens when you mess with people he loves. He gave them a chance to possibly get out alive if they hadn't hurt you, but they had. And that was the wrong decision.
"Where are you injured??" Simon cups your cheek, looking down to see the blood dripping onto your shirt and soaking your collar. He was furious, but he pulled you into his arms and held you close. "It's ok, they won't lay one more fucking hand on you. I promise. I'll kill them for touching you, I promise I will baby not one will be left."
He brought you to the car and kissed your nose. Once he'd gotten you secure and ok, he cocked his gun and finished off the last of that base.
When he returned again you cried into his chest while he held you, kissing the top of your head. "I'm sorry love. it's over. It's over, I won't ever, ever let anyone hurt you like that again.
He brought you home and held you in his arms, refusing to let you go. He would never let anything hurt you. He promised. He would never let the evil of the world hurt people he loved again.
His grip was tight, running his hand up and down your back. He looked into your eyes, seeing your face for a long while before leaning his forehead against yours, tears finally swelling up in his eyes. "I'm so glad you're ok." He whispers, pulling you close again. He'd never let go.
Soap 🧼
John cries. When he comes home from his long leave, expecting a warm hug and a good meal. But when he comes back, the house quiet and empty. The lights off, the love of his life not there to greet him.
And when he finds the note that you've been dragged out of your home and taken hostage for money and information. He was scared, seeing the email at the bottom of the note.
You were one of the most important people in his life and he couldn't fathom the thought of losing you.
He's in tears and shaking when he sends a message to the email, waiting for an agonizing hour before he got an email back. A taunting message acting for the money with a photo of you, a knife to your throat. "Give us the money or your little lover gets it."
Now he was angry. He was sad and scared for you but he was also angry. He contacted Ghost and once he got information on the email and pinned where it was sent from he didn't hesitate.
He was strapped to boot with anything he would need. Hell he threw his favorite bazooka in the back and was off by sunset.
When he gets there he easily takes out the sentinels and gets inside, finding you tied up. He takes out the soldiers guarding you and rushes to your side, holding you gently. "Look at me love, I'm going to bring you home." He kisses your temple and hauls you into his arms.
"We're going home." He assures you again as he brings you outside into the cool air. He walks you out past the perimeter and flicks the button in his hand, the base going up into a flurry of smoke and fire. "No one will lay a hand on you, I promise."
If you aren't injured he's going to set up a bomb and blow the place sky high, sending flames into the night from the inside out.
If you are injured he's still blowing it up.
"Love, love can you hear me??" He tilts your head up, seeing the black eye and your bloody nose. He frowns, immediately undoing your bonds and cradling you in his arms. "I'm not going to let them hurt you anymore. Not one damn second more."
"Johnny.... It hurts." You whispered, clinging onto him for his warmth, his protection.
"I promise you love no one will ever lay a hand on you like this again. I swear to it never again."
He picks you up and brings you out of the base, once he's in the safety perimeter he blows the place sky high. Good riddance.
He won't let anyone hurt you. He loves you, and he vows to protect you with all the resources he has. He would never let you get hurt. He holds you close, maybe even gives you a nice welcome home to get your mind off what you went through.
"Are you really ok love??" He asked, watching you sip the hot chocolate he'd made you. You nod, cuddling closer to him in your PJs. "I know you'll always be there for me."
He wraps his arms around you, pulling you close, lips feathering a kiss to your temple. "Always love, I will always do what I can to keep you safe."
