you slowly pulled away from the hug, looking him in the eyes. you know he felt it too, you all sit back down at the fire pit ready to ask him the hard hitting questions,

“you nervous bro?” cade questions him.

“little bit.” he giggles, pushing his hand through his hair.

“we all are.” aidan comments attempting to mellow him out.

“what’s your name? age?, didn’t catch it.” leah calmly asks.

“chris, 20 years of age.” his smile is contagious, you can’t help smirking.

“what do you do for work?” clair asks from next to you, nudging at your side.

you playfully roll your eyes at her, “i do social media, with my brothers.”

you all nod along to his words, “what’s your type?” leah questions.

“i don’t have one, i know blahbla everyone says that but it’s true,

i just like someone that can sit back and chill and who can have those normal conversations.” he motions with his hands, everyone intently listens, naturally interested in what he has to say.

“who do you find attractive here though.” cade says in a ‘cut the bullshit’ way.

“they're all pretty.” chris rebuttals.

“he dodged that.” cyrus laughs, making the other guys chuckle.

a ding loudly rips through the laughter, chris checks his back pocket,

“got a text.” he sticks his tongue out, “islanders, in 24 hours chris will couple up, with a girl of his choice, “leaving a boy single and vulnerable.” everyone's jaw slacks, gasps and groans coming from different places around the fire pit.

“#you-tu-ber in for a treat.” he laughs at the hashtag, “you are in for a treat!” he exclaims.

all the guys squirm while looking at each other.

after learning the news everyone slowly dispersed from the fire pit, boys and girls separating for their own chats, the girls going to the swing and the guys heading to the kitchen.

“how are you girls feeling?” abby starts.

you adjust yourself to sit comfortably, “i think he's a good looking boy.” you comment, turning your head towards the kitchen, you notice how outgoing he was, how touchy he is, your mind ran wild, not being able to control itself, you imagine —, you get snapped out of your thoughts by clair, bringing your attention back to the conversation you were having.

“he's not my usual type.” leah comments, kaia agreeing.

“but he's cute.” leah continues, “not again.” abby laughs, making you scoff.

“abby, how do you feel? i know you’re smitten with cade.” clair’s voice rings with concern.

“m’good, i just really like how it’s going with him.”

“we just don’t want you to close off so soon.” kaia comments, you nod your head.

“i know, i know.” she replies, sighing, toying with the fabric of her dress.

you notice chris approaching the swing,

you take a swig out of your glass then nudge at clair, grabbing her attention then the rest of the girls.

“heyy.” he says walking up, you were sitting across from abby, you both being nestled to the ends of the swing, you notice kaia and leah making room in the middle of the swing for him to sit, he plops down next to them with a giggle.

“how are you?” leah asks.

he man spreads, his hands in a ball on his lap, he smiles when the question rings through his ears.

“i’m great, thank you!”, “what about you?” he continues, aiming the question towards all of you, inviting you to converse.

“good.” abby responds.

“better now.” leah replies.

“yeah?” he says sarcastically.

“were you nervous coming down?” you chime in.

“yeah, definitely, this is kind of the first thing i've done without my brothers so it's really nerve racking.”

“you’re close with your family?” you reply.

“yeah, i'm a triplet so we rarely spend this much time away from each other.”

you all lightly gasp, “that’s so cool.” abby adds.

“thank you!” he smiles, putting one of his hands behind his head.

it was about that time to head to the beach hut, you felt excited for some reason, feeling like you could get things off your chest in there without any judgment.

you sat down in the chair, adjusting your mic.

“hello..” you say nervously.

“how are you feeling about the new boy?”

you smile, fumbling with your outfit.

“he seems nice, i'm attracted to him so..we’ll see.” you say slowly, carefully thinking about what to say.

“what do you think about leah after your conversation?” the ominous voice behind the camera queries.

“i like her, i'm not gonna be off with her over something so small.”

“you both seem to like chris.” they state, obvious they’re trying to stir something.

you scoff, “mhm..”

“how do you feel about your connection with romeo? he seemed to be a second thought when chris arrived.”

your jaw drops, “he is not!”, you defend yourself.

“i’m still thinking about me and romeo, we're going quite slowly at the minute but i like that, plus leah is still in the equation so i’m just trying to get to know everyone.” silence takes over the room.

….

“alright, all done.”

“thank you.” you smile, getting up from the chair and opening the door, closing it behind you, there were two ‘beach huts’ one upstairs and one downstairs, they had called you to the one upstairs.

you walk around the corner into the makeup room, sitting down at one of the vanities, taking a breather, making sure you still look nice.

you needed this bit of downtime, a break, you readjusted yourself in your outfit, fiddling with a bit of it, you stood up knowing it was time to rejoin the others.

when you walked back out romeo quickly pulled you away bringing you to the bean bags, you slowly sat down a “humph” leaving your lips from the low fall.

“you okay?” he chuckles.

“yeah.”, you quickly realize how unflattering sitting on it was.

“how you doing?” he asks

“fine, you?”

“good, do you like chris?” he quickly asks, getting straight to the point.

you’re stunned by his question, it naturally takes a while for you to answer, leaving him in silence.

“i don’t know him yet so i don’t know.” you reply in a hushed tone.

“you find him attractive though right?” he hurriedly comments.

“sure.” you say sharply.

you didn’t know why this conversation annoyed you, but it did, you tried to remind yourself he was just asking questions.

“alright.” he starts getting up leaving you with a confused face, that was it? that's all he had to say to you?

he pushes himself off the bean bag, putting his hand out for you, you put your hand in his allowing him to pull you up, leaving you unsteady, physically and mentally.

⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

it was time for bed, everyone piled into the bathroom to wash their face, brush their teeth. you decided to change first and wait everyone out, you peeled out of your outfit, placing it in your empty suitcase then changing into a t-shirt, you grabbed some toss around shorts and put those on too.

you opened your designated closet putting your heels on the shelf next to the shoes you unpacked earlier this morning.

the rest of the girls came in bare faced ready to change into their pjs, giving you the signal to head to the bathroom, you grabbed your toothbrush from a little bag nestled onto your vanity.

“this is basically like a big sleepover.” you heard abby comment as you exited the room heading to the bathroom.

you walk into the bathroom noticing chris laying toothpaste onto his brush, you seemed to have the same idea.

“hi.” you say awkwardly, grabbing a used toothpaste tube from off the sink

“heya” he smiles, he shoves the brush into his mouth, brushing ferociously, you can’t help but watch.

you side eye him, a “damn” leaves your mouth making him laugh, his laugh is infectious making you giggle, your interaction bellows through the halls, “who’s having fun without me?” abby questions sarcastically peeking into the bathroom, she notices you too and decides it’s better to not interrupt, walking back into the girls changing room.

you two are too busy chuckling to even notice her, you finish brushing your teeth alongside him, you begin to wash your face as he walks out of the room, presumably heading to the changing room as he was still wearing his jeans and t-shirt.

the guys changing room is across from the girls easily making for chaos but once everyone was done changing and cleaning up you all headed downstairs to the bedroom.

⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

you needed to have some water before bed since it always helped you sleep. you walked to the backyard and into the kitchen, the cool air made you shiver as you filled up your classic love island water bottle, you took a sip of the refreshing water while walking back inside.

you walked into the bedroom noticing couples in their beds and chris on his lonesome, his bed was right next to you and romeo, you headed to the right side since romeo was already comfortably conversing with robert who was lying next to clair.

you sit down taking a sip of your cool water from the fridge, “hey.” chris rolls over to get a good view of you, “hi.” you reply slightly uneasy, it made you uncomfortable knowing romeo was right next to you.

chris giggles at you, noticing your quick zone out, “you do that a lot.” he chuckles.

you scoff with embarrassment, placing your water bottle on the table in between you and chris’s beds, “you're funny.” he says with a smile, “but i'm not doing anything?” you question, only making him laugh harder.

romeo taps at you gaining your attention, “do you wanna cuddle or no?’”

chris stops laughing, taking note of the interaction, you lift your legs onto the bed and face romeo, “i don’t know.” you reply, genuinely unsure.

“alright.” he quickly replies.

everyone slowly goes silent, eye masks going on, ear plugs plunging into ears, mics being laid on the ground or the side table, you slide down, attempting to get comfortable, lifting your mic above your head and placing it next to chris’s.

the lights turn off, romeo turns on his side facing away from you, you hear sheets rustling as people get cozy.

“y/n” you hear a loud whisper from your left making your head turn.

“what?” you say quietly, turning on your side to face the whisperer, chris.

“goodnight.” he smiles, all you can really make out are his teeth and his eyes.

you smile back, “goodnight, chris.”

⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

the lights are bright and a “good morning, islanders!” echoes, groans are heard from the other side of the room.

you squint your eyes open, a yawn creeping up on you, you bend down groggily grabbing your mic off the ground and slowly hanging it on your neck, everyone around you does the same.

“whoo!!” abby exclaims, causing leah to groan, “too much for right now.” she comments.

“guys, it's the first full day!” she gets up, jumping on her and cade’s shared bed, causing cade to rock back and forth.

you sit up smiling, grabbing the water off your side table, taking a sip.

“let’s have a good day people.” cade basically shouts, making romeo jump.

chris extends his arm to poke you, you look towards him with a confused look. he rubs his eyes, “they’re perfect for eachother.” he says raspily, you nod your head in agreement.

⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

you were needed in the beach hut for some morning catch up, you slowly walked up the stairs feeling like a zombie, everyone groggily followed behind you ready to freshen up for the day, well..everyone except for abby and cade who were basically bouncing off the walls. you entered the room, sitting down ready for the questions.

“first full day, how are you feeling?”

you stuffily giggle, wiping your eyes, “i’m ready to have more chats today, i’ve only really talked one on one with romeo so yeah..” a long yawn gently rips from your throat.

“you and chris seem to get on well, you were talking to each other before bed.”

you scoff, “he’s interesting for sure.” you pause and smile, “he’s like…adorable but also sexy? if that makes any sense.”

“are you happy with your couple?”

you hesitate, “i was..no i am..?” you think, questioning yourself, “i think little “conversations” i’ve had elsewhere have been smoother than my conversations with romeo..” you felt guilty even hearing that exit your mouth but you can’t help how you feel, right?

⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

water hits you harshly, running against your back. you lathered yourself with soap, the guys had already headed outside to have breakfast so you weren’t worried about being walked in on and being made to feel uncomfortable but you still wanted to wash up as quickly as possible.

you hopped out and slipped on a one piece you prepared walking into the makeup room, clair and kaia were the only girls still in there. you sat at your normal spot, cozy next to clair, “how are you?” kaia asks beckoning towards you.

“good, refreshed.”, clair nods agreeing with you.

you started your usual routine, pulling things out of your small bag.

“clair, how you feelin’ about robert?” you question as you focus on the things in front of you,

“uhm.” she quickly replies, attempting to think. “i don’t know, i've had good convos with him but i've also had good chats with aidan.” she continues.

“damn, okay little love triangle.” kaia snickers as she moves her makeup brush down her neck.

“i’m just glad to have options.” clair states,

“how is cyrus?” clair changes the subject.

“he’s good, when he first came in he had a lot of energy but now he's really mellowed out.” kaia answers as she applies mascara on her eyelashes.

“which i love.” she continues.

“that’s gooood.” you drag your word while you attempt to focus on finishing up your makeup,

applying a lippie before standing up and going towards your favorite mirror, adjusting yourself in your swim-suit, you walk over to your closet picking out some sandals to match. “you look really good.” clair comments as she stops what she's doing to pay you mind.

“thank you.” you smile back at her.

⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

you, clair, abby and leah sat in a circle of bean bags, the heat sticking your body to it, “abby, is there anyone else you’d want to talk to?” leah peacefully questions.

she looks around, noticing kaia and cyrus having a convo at the fire pit, “maybe cyrus? he’s the only one other than cade that checked a few boxes so, i don’t know.” she pauses,

“it's hard because i need to be open and remember that we’ve only been here for a day.”

she hesitates, “like i keep telling myself that but nobody in here matches my energy like cade.” she continues talking quietly in fear of anyone else hearing, you all nod your heads.

“i get that.” leah states, “me and cyrus still haven’t talked. should i go pull him?” she carries on.

“right now?” clair asks.

“yeah.” she quickly replies.

“if you want to.” you chime in, looking between abby and clair.

“ok.” leah pushes herself up from the bean bag, walking towards the fire pit.

“pulling him while they’re talking is devious work.” abby chuckles, making you and clair laugh, you look over abby’s shoulder noticing chris coming your way.

“chris is coming over.” you whisper.

abby and clair look around them, noticing him approaching.

“i didn't tell you to look for him.” you giggle.

“sorry girl.” abby and clair snicker.

“you want to chat?” chris questions you, “sure.”

“look away, getting up from this is embarrassing.” you comment as you attempt to push yourself up from the bag. you make abby and clair sneer from your comment, he smirks then follows your command, looking away.

⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

you both walk over to the swing then sit down, he sits in a certain position so he can maintain eye contact, your eyes widen. “holy shit, you have blue eyes?” you exclaim, for some reason only noticing this now.

his jaw drops making himself chuckle “you didn’t notice?”

“i had no fucking idea.” you quickly reply.

“so you don’t pay attention to me…okay.” he comments, making a sarcastic frown.

“no, no.” you swiftly say as you giggle.

“it was dark, they looked brown.” you add, attempting to defend yourself.

“oh really?” he says sarcastically

“okay mr. sarcasm.” you couldn't stop smiling when you were with chris, this is all you wanted.

“you look pretty.” he observed you, sending a chill down your spine.

“thank you..” you said flusteredly, “you too.” you continued.

“i look pretty, yeah?” he questions, leaning back on the swing, throwing his hand behind his head.

you giggle, “very.”

he went on to ask you questions about your life, whether it was about the smallest thing or something huge, there wasn’t one dull moment with him.

but that didn’t make you forget to ask him questions as well,

when he talked about his family his eyes lit up. it was so wonderful to see, you intently listened to his every word, highs and lows about his career, favorite food. you could easily talk for hours but unfortunately it was interrupted by a ding.

“got a text!” cyrus shouts, you slowly get up, giving chris a quick side hug as you both walk over to the fire pit, “islanders, it’s time to reveal your red hot flags in today’s red hot challenge.” you bite your tongue in an attempt to not laugh.

“#willyoubemybuoy, #slipperywhenwet”, cade and abby cheer.

⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

you and the girls enter the dressing room, noticing 5 red bikinis lined on the closets, quickly changing and adjusting yourselves in every mirror.

“this is so exciting!” abby exclaims to you all.

you smile at her.

boys and girls will compete against each other in "red flags", you’all each pick a life buoy which will unveil a saucy secret about one of the islanders on the opposing team. then jump into a slime pool and wrestle an inflatable shark, once you exit the slime you’ll do your best ‘baywatch’ inspired slow-mo walk down the sprinkler runway before making your guess by kissing the islander you think the secret is about.

cade started us off, grabbing a life buoy off the wall and flipping it over. “this girl got caught having sex in her parent’s room.” all of your jaws dropped, you and the girls were lined up vertically along a fence allowing you to give playfully, judgy, looks down the line.

“that’s insane.” leaves one of the boys' mouths but you couldn’t tell who.

cade basically skips over to the pool, jumping in and mounting the inflated shark. the guys cheer him on as well as you and the girls, “get it!” robert shouts.

he jumped out, covered in slime, taking his time getting to the “runway”. he did his best walk while holding the buoy, sprinklers blasting him.

he ran down the line up of you girls, making his way down to abby, performing mouth to mouth, the kiss looked wet and slimy, you cringed as clair laughed next to you.

once they finish their long kiss he walks over to the flags to reveal who’s secret it was, he peels it back revealing leah. you all giggle as she covers her face, “my cat was asleep on my bed, there was no other choice!” she defends herself, everyone gives her questioning looks, “i can think of many other choices.” clair responds.

after cade’s go he lost the boys a point.

it was aidan’s turn next, he slowly picked up a buoy of his choice, reading off the back, “this girl did ballet growing up and still uses it to this day.” he pauses.

“that would be normal but there’s a winky face.” he snickers,

“just look at their feet.” cade says, making everyone laugh.

aidan quickly made his way through the pool and the runway, making it time for him to choose a girl. you could tell he really wanted to earn the boys a point as he took his time thinking about who to pick.

he looks down, taking cade’s advice, you all squirm in an attempt to hide your toes, he smiles, “fuck it.” he mutters, going over to clair and placing the buoy round her neck then leaning in for a wet, sloppy snog.

it seems to take her by surprise, you try not to look but it goes on for a while.

they finally stop and he makes his way to the flags, pulling the sticker back revealing clair’s name, “holy shit!” the boys cheer.

cyrus’s turn! he quickly grabbed the buoy, “this girl once peed in a shoe hiding in an ex’s closet.” he quickly jumped through the slime, doing his funkiest baywatch walk and making his way down the line, he wrapped the buoys string around leah, bringing his lips down to hers.

right…next..to..kaia, you look down the line attempting to get a good view of her reaction, she didn’t look very happy, especially when that didn’t remotely seem like something leah would do, she’s too chill.

“yikess..” abby says quietly, he pulls away from the kiss making his way to the flags, peeling back the sticker to unveil kaia’s name. you silently gasp and you can hear clair having the same reaction.

“i found out he was cheating on me and i had his house key, i spied on him.” she quickly says, she’s definitely told that story before.

it was romeo’s turn, he grabbed a buoy off the wall and cleared his throat, “this girl lived in a strict household and didn’t have lingerie so she cut big holes out of her granny panties.” you scoff, watching people's reactions as you knew this was you, what are the chances he picked your damn story.

all you could think about is how you didn’t want romeo to kiss you especially in front of chris.

while you zoned out he was already covered in slime, awkwardly making his way down the runway, then observing all of you, ‘don’t kiss me.’ was the only thing echoing in your mind.

he walked up to you, putting his hand around the side of your neck, you could hear cheers from the boy's and abby’s loud self.

he leaned in placing his lips on yours, it was messy as you attempted to find a rhythm that worked for you both, he easily led the kiss, the cold buoy from his other hand hits your side like a tambourine making you squeal.

he takes advantage of your open mouth, slipping his tongue past your lips, you can’t stop thinking about chris, how he feels. your teeth bang together reminding you you’re still kissing him, you slowly pull away in an attempt to let him down easily, he smiles at you and you lightly smile back.

you fearfully avoid eye contact with the boys, clair nudges you, you look at her and she discreetly points towards the boys, you look over soulfully noticing chris’s gaze making you quickly turn away.

romeo pulls the sticker back, your name bold for everyone to see, the boys cheer, everyone except for chris.

robert was next, you couldn’t pay attention to what was happening with him as your mind raced about what just happened,

you were only able to notice him having a quick peck with abby, then pulling the sticker back and getting it right, earning the boys another point.

lastly, it was chris’s turn, you felt sick to your stomach, guilt continued to wash over you but you didn’t know why, you didn’t do anything wrong, right?

clair had to touch your shoulder to get you out of your thoughts, bringing you back to reality as chris splashed into the slime, it oozed off of him.

he quickly glided down the wet runway, him holding the buoy in his hand reminded you that you didn’t pay attention to the prompt, he walked down the line of you all tapping his lip with his finger.

he tsked, walking up to you and using his unoccupied hand to hold the back of your head, he delicately kissed your cheek then pulled away, giving you butterflies, he peeled back the sticker revealing kaia’s name, “awe, shucks!” he comments sarcastically.

⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

it was finally you and the girls' turn, you switched spots with the boys, them now standing in the line.

abby was first, she excitedly grabbed a buoy off the wall, “this boy has never been in a relationship.”, oohs and ahhs are shared between everyone, you and the girls huddle,

“what you guys think?” abby whispers, “it’s not robert, he’s 28.” leah mentions. “that doesn't mean anything..” kaia slowly replies, “she’s right to be fair.” clair says, “i think it’s chris.” he’s only 20, abby states.

“he’s on social media though, surely...” leah replies, “i back that actually.” you comment.

“kk!” you all quickly stop huddling, and watch as abby dives into the slime pit, “it’s in my nose!!” she complains.

she struts down the walkway, the sprinklers hitting her at every angle.

she darts straight to chris, placing the buoys string over his head, he giggles as she snogs him, you can’t get a good look which is probably for the best.

she pulls the string off his head then walks over to the flags, pulling back the tape to reveal chris’s name. you girls cheer and rally, you notice cade having a sour face as abby walks back over.

you all played to win, not considering who you wanted to kiss but who you had to, your lips ended up locking with aidan which was unexpected but ended with you getting a point, the only point you girls lost was leah’s turn with a bad guess.

as you girls guessed the most flags correctly, you were all crowned as winners, ending with jumps up and down and cheers from you all.

⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚

everyone arrived back at the villa, wet, slimy and sticky messes.

you and the girls decided you needed some chat after the game, heading to the swing,

“did you see cade’s face, abby?” clair starts.

“what?” she quickly replies.

“he looked pissed.” leah states.

“what’h i do?” her words mush together from her panic, you all shrug.

she rolls her eyes, “anywayyyyy, we won!” she exclaims.

the rest of you cheer alongside her.

“high fives!” kaia places her hand out and you all join her.

a ring is heard from the fire pit, where all the boys were talking.

“text!” chris shouts, all of you stickily get up from the swing, walking over to the boys.

“it’s time to get freshened up as chris will take two girls of his choosing on dates!” the guys cheer, patting his back. he chuckles.

“#sunsetdining, #sunkissed.” he delivers with a smile.

who will chris choose to go on dates with? find out next time on love island..

i'll definitely keep the challenges based off real ones so they aren't extremely hard to imagine, this one is based of aussie love island, season 4. also since this is a chris fic i'll probably end up doing one for matt, i have an idea in mind....anyways, ilysm <3

He was so tired after combat training, he fell asleep right then and there.

Well, I guess you have to sit like that until he wakes up again, Draal... XD

Too bad those two never met. Pretty sure Draal would have loved his new troll brother ^___^

-----SORRY! LONG, INSIGNIFICANT TEXT INCOMING!-----

So I am back into my regular drawing style again. That seems to be all I can really do and it made me realize that I am stuck. My skills didn't improve for quite a long time now, despite having watched several drawing tutorials. Especially on composing, coloration and backgrounds, because those always were my greatest weaknesses. The only things I'm kinda good at is anatomy, cell shading, expressions and a little bit of character design.

I do digital art for almost 15 years now (before that it was only traditional drawing), but I believe nobody would think that by looking at my works. I really started to feel embarassed after seeing so many genius artists here on tumblr and instagram, that are only 18 or 19 years old and whose works are putting mine to shame. Yeah, I know I am by far not the only person experiencing this. But it doesn't change the fact that I am, for so many years now, struggeling really hard with not achieving more with the thing, that is and always was my life. That one and only thing I thought I was really good at. But "good" will never be enough. So maybe it is finally time for me to leave the "great" to those who have a chance and to stop uploading my drawings for good. I will still need some time to finalize this decision, but I'll make sure to let you all know.

Sorry for this sentimental flood of words. I want to thank everyone who did like my works. I enjoyed all of your likes, funny hashtags in reblogs and kind comments I recieved over the years. I would have left a long time ago, if you guys hadn't kept me going. So much appreciated!

Well as you can imagine, the David Jenkins IG is the big news of today. The clowning forecast has gone up significantly. Dad posted one of the late-blooming SaveOFMD banners in NY and attached Elton John - Candle In The Wind to the post. This song has some very specific significance to our fandom.

Now ADD to that... David Jenkins ALSO added this picture of Matthew Maher standing in front of a saveOFMD flyer found out on the street.

NOW OF COURSE, we are all clowning, but I think as usual Chaos Dad is trying to give us info without giving us info since the fandom pays so much attention to every little detail.

Alrighty lovelies. It's been another busy day. Lots of clowning, lots of hope, lots of emotional roller coasters. I hope you had a good time and generally it was more positive than negative. I have a lot I want to say, but my brain is still pretty foggy. So I'll make this short.

Sometimes when things go well, our brain gets excited and then they overcompensate when we calm down. It starts to think a lot more negatively because it had so much extra dopamine for a time. When that happens, little things can be really devastating. I just want you to remember that we all make mistakes and YOU, you beautiful imperfect being are not your mistakes. They hurt, and we learn from them, but they don't define us. Try not to listen to your brain if it's telling you otherwise. You are so very wonderful.

Anyway, I hope that makes sense.

Here's a picture I found today I thought really applied to all you wonderful people. Thank you to all the folks who reached out to me and checked in and sent me love when you knew I was struggling (there are too many to list and I don't know if you want to be tagged so please just know how much I appreciate you). I love you all so much, and I'm so lucky to how found people who make me feel like it's ok to be me.

I like playing games but a lot of the time I have a hard time keeping myself focus to play them so I like watching let’s plays on youtube. A couple of my favorites youtubers streamed the game and the first dlc and I really enjoyed it. Maybe one day I’ll get myself to play it.

So mark me intrigued when you and gd started brainrotting.

Now then…

I don’t know what the actual reasons you have for Donnie ignoring reader, but I like to think it’s because he thinks f-chan is cute when they’re angry and doesn’t respond just to see their adorable pout.

What were Donnie’s thoughts coming across drowning f-chan? ‘this creature is pretty. Will make me pretty babies. I will save. Mine now.’

Do the brothers interact? And if so, do they know about Lavi? Is it like, one day Donnie shows up with some random ass baby in tow and they’re like, Dah fuq is that!?

Speaking on Lavi and babies, when I read “Gave me a pretty baby”, I couldn’t help but picture a proud papatello swimming with a school of his babies.

And a throw back to names, donnie doesn’t need f-chan’s actual name, he has his own names for them; my love, my sweet, mine, and dumdum.

Also wtf was Donnie doing in the net? He’s smart, fast and agile, why he’d get himself caught?

P.s. I’m currently rewatching the let’s play and… Dramatically points… Entwined mullet!

ANYWAY! yeah it's a really great game!! i had a ton of fun with it, and i'm sooooo excited for the new dlc to come out. partially bc i Smell that it has aberration lore (and i Hunger) and also bc i hundo'd the game RIGHT as they added in the new achievements so im like. foaming at the mouth with excitement

i have some fics planned that will answer some of your questions, so i'll refrain from doing so here for now. but yeah, your commentary is largely on point. im a huge fan of the whole "you don't have a name (and you don't need one because the only people who would use it have other names for you and don't speak english anyway)" vibe we have going on. like. yeah. your connection with donnie is Deeper than something as superficial as a name. sighs yearningly

I know we've all talked about this, but seriously how long do you think it took Dukat to record all these?

Also I love Sisko's bits with Jake in this ep. He checks in when Jake bumps his head, he talks him through opening the hatch. He's such a good dad.

Heck yeah Action Kira! Shooting doors and taking names.

ATTENTION BAJORAN WORKERS

Garak! Yay! I love that he's in this episode, but also that he's almost useless. Poor guy is used to being the hypercompetent superspy, and he can't fix the station or even do anything.

Gosh I love they let Kira shoot up the place.

Dukat! He's here and he's awful!

Though you gotta admit, getting a distress call from yourself would be weird. I like the headcanon that Starfleet are the ones who get all the really weird shenanigans because Humans are batshit neophiles, so they would definitely have a protocol for "what to do if you receive a message from yourself." Besides, the Cardassians seem like the type of military where even if shenanigans happened on the reg, they wouldn't Tell People.

Heeheehee Dukat asking about Sisko's welfare under the guise of making a jab. Suuuure Dukat.

Hah! Say what you will about Dukat [he's a monster], I do love the bitchy-ass power move of ordering a tea from the replicator trying to kill everyone.

I also love that Dukat and Garak's beef is so epic they take time to snipe at each other while the station is headed for destruction.

Heeheehee I love Dukat's slow realization that he's trapped. And Garak and Kira's reaction shots. It's just. Chef's kiss.

And now. Garak just absolutely murdering Dukat. I cackle every time.

I love they get contact with Sisko and Co like ten minutes before the station is set to blow. Very star trek.

It's such a small moment, but I love that Sisko lets Jake come along to try to save the station. It's such a sweet moment of recognition of Jake's agency.

Think they make Starfleet uniforms with tear points? If you've ever tried to rip fabric like that, it's really hard unless the fabric is basically gauze or unless there are seams meant to give way. Hashtag sewist thoughts.

And I love the solution to the self-destruct sequence. Though just for plot reasons I wish they'd had some lasting damage.

Also love that Quark and Odo flirting wildly as they walk away is the last shot of the episode.

Some of my notes from watching Zeta Gundam very, very slowly (up until ep. 34)

(Needless to say that it contains spoilers and that I get very annoying about the female characters because that's my thing)

-I'm 6 episodes into Zeta Gundam and I still don't know what to make of Kamille. On the other hand, it took me a look at some screenshots of SD Gundam Kamille to know that I'd die for him.

-I was very surprised to see Kamille openly declaring that he's autistic. Why don't we have more of that?

-20 episodes in, now (watching v. slowly). So... Z isn't exactly that great about women... right? 0079 left me gladly surprised on that front, but my expectations were super low. Maybe I should turn off that part of my brain while watching this.

- I hate to say this about a female character but so far Beltorchika is so annoying. Wake up, sis! You can't fix the dude, you barely know him! He's not opening up to you, and please leave the 15 year old out of your problems with Amuro!

-"I learned karate and how to make Mobile Suits to become a man!". Kamille isn't beating the transmasc allegations /J

-It makes sense that Kamille resents her mother for apparently caring more about her job than her family, but this does speak more of that general anxiety about women in the workplace than of anything else. Might be a common cliché at the time, still don't like it.

-She's allowed to be a terrible mom, but maybe for other more nuanced reasons? Also the fact that Kamille mentions that Fa made things that his mother should've done for him... it's gonna be really awkward if Kamille/Fa is the endgame ship.

-So, if both Kamille's parents were responsible for the development of the MK-II, then when he fights in it, one can say that his parents are still protecting him. On the other hand, we could also consider the MK-II as Kamille's little br- *gets shot*

-Ep 21: The titular Zeta Gundam appears. -Male Feminist guy is creepy. -Bright has the vibes of an exhausted High School teacher. - Fa rescues Kamille in space. This two are soo endgame

-Bright: Emma, you should do something about Kamille and Fa. Emma: Nah. I'm not Kamille's mom, besides, teens like to make drama as a form of recreation.

Emma is so cool. (Also, she and Reccoa should kiss)

-If there's a fanfic out there about Bright Noah being a clueless high school teacher/principal, please let me know. That's like the perfect AU for him.

-Girls can also fuck up in the battlefield and get slapped as a form of military disciplinary tactic! Hashtag equality. (But seriously though, I wasn't expecting Fa to become a pilot. Interesting).

-In the comment section of the dubious site where I'm watching this show, people are saying that Zeta is ahead of its time. And yeah, in many aspects it is. On the other hand it took Gundam 40+ years to have a girl protag. Suletta Mercury should've been invented like 30 or 20 years ago.

-Meanwhile, Scirocco is high-key trying to get Jerid killed and failing. They're both huge losers.

-Also, Kamille is slowly and steadily growing on me.

-Kamille becomes more mature and thoughtful. - The story brings Katz to be the new impulsive boy who fucks everything up. -Katz matures after a couple of episodes. -Now there's a pair of annoying kids whose only purpose is to awake Fa's maternal instinct (???) It never ends!

-On the other hand, I did enjoy those five seconds where Quattro was babysitting those kids. Would've preferred more of that.

-I love that in-universe everyone refers to teenage drama as "recreation". Even Kamille at some point admits that he and Fa are engaging in such recreation. At least their relationship is evolving in a healthier way than Amuro and Fraw's in 0079.

-Between Reccoa possibly having feelings for Scirocco and Mauar protecting Jerid, it's evident that in this universe everyone suffers from having Bad Taste in Men. Y'all could do better, queens!

-Also everyone punches and slaps each other so much. And it's not a love language. It's just another language that everyone just use. (There's even a punch compilation in tumblr, it's hilarious).

-I really hope to eventually get an explanation of what's up with those kids that Char brought from Earth, because so far their only purpose is to fuel Fa's maternal instincts.

-Episode 33! We're finally meeting those funny guys from Axis. This is also full of high quality Char moments.

-*Char has flashbacks of him playing with toddler!Mineva and also gets angry when he realizes how much they have manipulated her* Aww, daddy Char.

* Char unnecesarily beats the crap out of Kamille, five minutes later* Hey! What the hell, Char?!

-Char: "I have never betrayed anyone in my entire life! Ever!

lol, a classic.

-Help! Char is starting to have a similar effect on me as the one that other horrible and pathetic fictional white men have on tumblrinas.

-Seriously though, if UC Gundam were more popular in the western hemisphere, Char Aznable would totally be a Tumblr Sexyman. *shudders*

-Me: I see, so Reccoa actually has a death wish, she recklessly jumps into the battlefield on a desperate attempt to find her own demise, but she doesn't know it.

Z Gundam: Actually Scirocco is brainwashing her with space magic and she's sexually frustrated with Char.

Wha-?

-Reccoa has so many death flags that I'm always surprised whenever she survives. Her fake "death" and its consequences were really well done. I particularly liked Kamille's reaction.

-Maybe the most effective death flag in Zeta is being close to Jerid. That's more letal than the birthday song or being near Amuro's range.

And that's all for now. Join me next time as I try to watch Z less slowly so I might be able to watch "Char's Counterattack" before Christmas 2023.

I have so many friggen ideas in the works right now. Like why Bro gave Lil Cal mittens. (He has articulated claws under the mittens. I've already got a comic outline for part 1.) Or, Bro comes up with a new smuppet design and goes through a whole ordeal of "making" it with Lil Cal in the bedroom. Or more long limb adventures bc I'm really big on that - Cal getting tied around Bro.

I really like when Bro's like immune to Lil Cal's dark vibes. Like, Cal is just a cool lil dude to Bro, flirty and cheeky; but to everyone else he's a nightmare murder puppet. And super possessive over Bro, too. I like Bro to not be able to sleep without Cal, or else he gets nightmares and his insomnia goes unchecked. I love them being able to just chill and enjoy watching horror movies together as a soothing activity. (Hashtag Mood lol...) Just generally being inseparable. Bro can talk to Cal about anything and everything, but Bro doesn't say much around other people. I love Bro repairing Cal. Love it so much. Such an intimate activity, repairing or replacing parts, giving Cal new outfits, taking really gentle care of Cal.

I want them to get gay married and do sloppy things together.

This is a weird one, but I want Bro to store something (like, money for example, but something more significant/plot relevant) deep inside Cal's mouth in a hidden uh... stomach? Idk. Just storage space.

I really like floppy Lil Cal. I cannot stress that enough. Noodle arms are like the best thing ever. ((I had my fun back in the day drawing Mettaton with those kind of noodly arms, too, they make me so happy.))

But yeah. I love Lil Cal soooo much. BroCal is the best.

There was some line in a non-BroCal fic that went something like, "When you're the guy who carries a puppet everywhere in grade and high school, life is miserable, but when you're in college, you're just the cool puppet guy and no one cares," and I really fucking loved that and took it out of original context and put it into a BroCal context, of course. (I think it was a Bro/Dirk fic, actually.) Like, Bro grows up with this one lil dude that's like his stable rock in an otherwise rough life, he can always count on Cal to be there for him, and show him the love he doesn't get anywhere else.

So I've got a few ways I've marked up my fanfic list, just so I can sort through it easier (yes I do have a lot. yes I will be sharing).

Brackets (…) means it's still being updated/not done/WIP – and I'm paying close attention to it

Zeros with a strikethrough (000) Disappeared off the net (I still have a doc of it saved somewhere)

A black dot • means it's a one-shot

Ship with + means it's either time travel or dimension hopping – something along those lines

Anyway! Onto my MCU Stony fic recs...

Arysteia: “The Twice-Told Tale” (Steve/Tony+) • For someone he'd hero-worshipped for so long, Steve Rogers in the flesh is a pretty big disappointment. For one thing, he keeps looking at Tony as though he reminds him of someone else, and even if he never says anything, Tony's pretty sure it's his father. A lifetime of not measuring up to Howard's expectations is more than enough, thank you very much, and he's certainly not going to make an effort to live up to any of Steve's. Steve's pretty clearly failed to live up to his expectations, in any case, and that's not hypocritical at all.

Wordsplat: “Hashtag Finally” (Steve/Tony) (000) • Since the story's been deleted from....whichever site, can't remember - I have the doc saved. Also the summary for this one is just the beginning of the fic (I'm lazy): It started with Clint. Technically speaking, Tony never actually invited him. He would have, given any sort of contact information, but Clint disappeared right after the battle of New York and clearly didn't want to be found. Natasha probably knew where he was, but knowing didn't mean sharing, so Tony never got the chance. Invitation or no invitation, three years later Tony still found Clint Barton sitting on his couch, watching Dog Cops and eating Cheetos in his underwear. "Sup." "Shit!" Tony jumped, dropping his mug. "Aw, coffee." Clint peered over the top of the couch. "Sucks, man."

“Meet Your Heroes” (Steve/Tony) (000) • Another one that bit the dust -> google doc The summary is the first few parts of the fic: It’s been a while, sure, but it’s far from his first rodeo and he knows exactly what’s about to happen when the door of the black van in front of him rolls back to reveal four armed men in black ski masks. So yeah, not the best way to kick off the week. He’d had a great weekend. After months of toying with it, scrapping the idea only to circle back around, he’d finally committed and built the mechanized suit he’s envisioned since the “Avengers” first appeared on the scene a few months ago. Part of the reason he’d tried to scrap it so many times was how nervous he’d been to tell Steve. Steve didn’t like to talk much about the mysterious team of superheroes running around their city these days, so Tony had sort of assumed that expressing his desire to join them might make things tense to say the least, if not start an outright fight. To Tony’s pleasant surprise, Steve had instead been weirdly over the moon about it all. Told him to go for it. Went on and on about how the Avengers would be lucky as hell to have him. Practically rewarded him, jumped his bones no less than five minutes after he announced his intentions. So that had been great.

AshitaNewssnoopy: - “Worth It” (Steve/Tony) • When Steve said he wanted to court Tony, he assumed that he just meant that he wanted to take thing slow. And that was fine by Tony. No really, he could do this thing if that's what Steve needed (shut up, Pepper; he so could). Because Steve was worth the wait. But then the gifts started coming and the letters popped up and there were chaste kisses and romance and…and what is even with this? Just when did his life turn into a romance novel?

Anonymous: - “With you” (Steve/Tony) • Sometimes Steve gets overwhelmed by how much he loves Tony.

ItsallAvengers: - “Keep on Beating” (Steve/Tony) • There were an awful lot of things Steve loved about Tony. But one thing in particular Steve could never get enough of was his heartbeat.

Sara_holmes: - “Like Sunlight” (Steve/Tony) • Steve is used to the way it feels by now; a strange but gentle tugging connection under his sternum, warm tingles in his skin whenever they touch. That is, until Tony gets himself kidnapped. Then it kinda feels more like someone is trying to wrench his heart out through his ribcage.

Scifigirl47: - “Some Things Shouldn’t Be a Chore” (Steve/Tony) Steve takes things like personal responsibility and respect seriously. Tony's got people he pays to take care of that kind of thing, and anyway, he's pretty sure that he's going to die of some exotic disease in his workshop, because Dummy's still a little spotty about what is 'clean' enough to put on an open wound. The rest of the Avengers are in this for personal gain, except for Clint, he just enjoys being a dick. And some things shouldn't be a chore.

You just need to accept the fact that Seokjin is going to spoil you and you're going to have to let him.

Because if you don't - A, he's going to pout and B, he's going to do it anyway so you might as well just accept it, write the list and let the man feel needed.

And if for some god forsaken reason you decide to say, "Jin, I love you and I appreciate it but really, I can do it. You don't have to pick these up for me."

Just know, that you are going to be on the recieving end of major sass, possibly his mad angry rapping skill featuring that little vein in his neck trying to pop out and then a pompous little dismissal something along the lines of:

"It's healing for me, jagi. Now, would you really deny me the opportunity of healing?"

So just suck it up and accept the fact that you have a very loving partner who is going to spoil you with candles and whatever else you might possibly need or want.

Yoongi:

This man knows how to find a good deal. Three dollar chain? Psh. Bitch, you can't tell. Which is why he won't hesistate to stroll up in the dollar tree and load up an entire cart with the different color glass vase candles. He follows the 'dollartreefinds' and 'dollartreecandles' hashtags on instagram purely for this reason. They come out with new colors? On it. They've released pastel versions for spring? Add to cart. Black candles for spooky season? Bitch, please. You will never run out. And because he saved so much on candles… his baby wants a huge opal figure? His baby GETS a huge opal figure. Damn straight.

Hoseok:

Hobi on the other hand. Quality over everything. Truthfully the dollar tree candles work just fine but you ain't gonna tell him that. Well, you might. But he ain't listening. He is going IN. He is RESEARCHING. He's reading ALL the reviews. He will find the best rated, top quality shop for all the candles. He will be going in person to inspect them with those sharp eyes of his to make sure that they will in fact be up to his standards. And this mother fucker will stock you on all the basics he feel like you could ever need. And then he's gonna want a list of wants. And you better just comply or else you'll get attitude. "Hobi, babe, this is more than enough. I'm fine. Like this is more than I've ever had anyway. I don't need-"

"Jagi, I did not ask you what you needed. I asked you what you wanted. Now you can either tell me or I'm getting one of everything."

"But I-"

*Cue that sharp ass glare he has when someone messes up choreo.

"Ok, ok. This one. I would like this one."

"Great, add at least nine more."

"Hobi, I don't"

*Glare intensifies and that jaw becomes so flexed you actually fear for your life with how sharp it is*

"Ok, ok. Well, these are the holidays that are coming up that I'd like to celebrate. So maybe these. And the haters have been particularly nasty lately so maybe this one."

"Good, baby. See? Now was that so difficult?"

You accept the kiss and thank him for his generosity but damn, homie gets pressed when you don't let him spoil you, lol.

Namjoon:

Now, does Namjoon believe in this stuff? No. He doesn't. He's an aetheist. However, you do and it's important to you. So he takes this VERY seriously. This is important to you and you're important to him so he would never DARE to roll his eyes at it. Like Hoseok, Namjoon his does his research. He's not likely to go all in like Hobi but Namjoon does know the holidays you choose to celebrate or what you're typically going to do in a week or whatever. His research however consists mostly of what the corresponding candle, color and scent or whatever would be. He prefers wandering into the small witchy shops, definitely having a look at the book section. He'll often pick up something occultish. Even if he doesn't believe he does find it interesting and entertaining. And he knows that you'll definitely want the book once he's finished with it. Then he'll make his way to the candle section, pull up the notes on his phone and choose from there. He sometimes cross references with whoever is working there but often times he gets more joy out of it knowing that he learned enough about something that you do to pick correctly. You're unsure whether it's his research or his intuition… but often times he is actually spot on. Also, if you EVER dont let him watch...he will so sad. and dramatic.

Jimin:

Now, Jimin's approach to buying you candles is based heavily in observation. He prides himself on how open, safe and vulnerable you are with each other in your relationship. He's often present when you are doing workings or journaling or even shopping just as an excuse for the two of you to spend time with one another. And Park Jimin is a very observant man. So he notices shit. He takes stock of the fact that there are only two green candles left on the shelf and one gold one. So he makes a note to order some more for you because he knows you use those often in prosperity workings. While he's at it, he might add in a figural dollar sign candle as a surprise for you to try. The little pink birthday candles that you use for peace in friendships are down to about two in that little box. He's picking you up some on the way home from work one night because he knows you like the ones from that supermarket the best. You've been talking about ancestor work? He texts you to let you know that a package is about to be delivered today so you need to be there to recieve it. You open it and it's got not only white candles but also figural family candles as well. It's in the details for Jimin. This mother fucker pays attention and provides based on what he sees. He doesn't just pick blindly. Even if he doesn't believe. He knows you do and he wants to show you that because it's important to you… it's important to him. 10/10 if you ever try to tell him that he doesnt have to do this... will sit you down for a talk and shame for even thinking he wouldnt take care of you.

Taehyung:

Taehyung wants to know everything. He's probably going to ask a lot of questions. He's INVOLVED. And he's quite sweet and endearing. He may not have been raised in it and he might not connect with it on the level that you. But he's still present and participates. He likes to learn and he loves learning from you. So while he might do his own research… he much prefers you to be his teacher. He's likely going to come home one day with a basics kit. A little of everything. What will surprise you is that it's doubled. He's gotten one for himself as well. What's amusing is that this little shit pulls out a damn Gucci candle and wants to know if that can be his working candle. You just have to smile and kiss his cheek.

"I mean, it's an expensive choice to make for your working candle, babe but yes, that's fine. If you connect with it, that's all that matters. For the record though, you can just as easily use a white pillar candle from the dollar tree. It can work just the same."

"I really like this one though." "That's fine. If you vibe with that, then go with that. What you connect with the most is gonna make it the strongest."

"Ok, Gucci it is."

You smile at his expensive yet endearing choice.

A week later… you too have a Gucci 'working candle'.

Because obviously you're a liar and a Gucci candle is far superior.

Jungkook:

Ever the frugal king, Jungkook is likely to come back with no telling what that he's swiped from hotel rooms for you. He's always bring you those little teabags because 'You can use these for herbs, right jagiya?" and if he's lucky enough to come across a room with tea light candles or incense or anything like that… ha. Man RUNS for his suitcase! I mean, BURSTS through the door. "Jagi, you're going to love me so much right now." Proceeds to empty the entire front pocket of his suitcase out. Dozens of little scented tea lights that he has wrapped in cling wrap or put in little baggies. "This one got a little melted but you can still use it right?" You just pepper him with kisses because oh, that man of yours is so sweet and considerate. 10/10 you PROUDLY use them in your workings because yes. That energy. *chef's kiss* Bonus if you use them in lust magic. when you tell him this... he makes it a personal mission to acquire something useful everywhere he goes,

no cus i totally understand your frustration, ive also quit splatfests for the moment until they get an overhaul

i suggest if you feel close to getting hateful to either shiver or shiver fans then maybe quit for a while for your own sake cus ive felt a lot better after doing so, im still really sensitive to negative comments towards frye or rude ones about shiver winning but taking some time for myself has made me feel infinitely better

ive been close to hating shiver before bc of how cocky and rude them and their fans can be but it doesnt really do anything but sour your enjoyment of the game more, so its really not worth it

i do have to say though, anyone who says "its just a game" reaaally needs to understand the frustration of people OTHER than them, sympathy is something a lot of people forget about when it comes to things that arent real life. just because it doesnt affect you doesnt mean everyone can shut off their attachment to the game or a character like a light switch; a lot of the time you dont know whats going on with them. i myself am really attached to frye cus i am hashtag autism creature and he brings me comfort, so anyone being rude to me about shiver winning really REALLY gets under my skin. its not entirely (if they were serious, if they werent then its not at all) their fault, but nintendo fixing the frustration of splatfests constantly keeling in one direction (which theyre supposed to do anyways but they havent) would definitely fix the issue. we need to find a way to have nintendo fix this, not attack anyone else for what bundle of pixels and text theyre attached to.

not everyone has really thick skin and if we want splatoon 3 to be more hospitable then we should try to cut down on the general splatfest bullassery in public spaces (being overly cocky and rude/blaming others in a way with no basis or truth behind it). its not something everyone can always do since we arent all perfect, but if we make steps in that direction then we could help more people enjoy the splatoon community rather than being eaten up by toxicity and spite

I don't want to quit playing it, I do enjoy splatfests, to a certain extent, i like going with my friends and i made a lot of new friends through it, it's like, the online community that I'm having a problem with

I don't hate shiver, I thought I did but I can't, she is still a comfort character (tho Frye is like, my obsession besides being my comfort character cuz I am also part part the 'tism XD), in a way, I like her dynamic with the group at least, she annoys me, yes, very much so, but I don't hate her

And I don't hate people who like her either

Who I do hate is people being mean about it, I had turned off anon cuz of a stupid person who was going around every frye support account anonymously just saying mean stuff and praising shiver as the best, I just forgot to turn it on, so thanks for reminding me 😅

Saying that "It's just a game" is so annoying to, tell that to the football fans, they go just as crazy if not more so

Splatfests are ment to be fun! You should be able to enjoy the splatfest without having to worry about people fighting

I don't like fighting with people, I hate how angry I become, how mean I can sound sometimes, I usually just vent without interacting

At least she won in Japan, so that is one other win under her belt, I just wish she'd win more in the future 😔

3. What fandoms do you write for?

At the moment I'm writing F1, but I haven't been able to write anything for quite a while, and I never put the lid on any fandom. I've got some outstanding 1D WIPs that are on hiatus.

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Emperor's New Clothes (1D famous/not famous, NDA where there used to be a relationship)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

LOOK, I want to, and I used to when I had a fic lj, but every couple of years I'd try to on ao3 and then I'd just be drowning in my own horror at writing "thank you so much!!!!" over again and essentially we hit a slump and I haven't in ages. I'm going to pick it up again, though.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

oh god I hate a sad ending. I hate them!!!! I will only accept an ambiguous ending under certain circumstances, so I don't think I've got any with truly angsty endings. I've got plenty with very angsty middles. That SAID, I occasionally get hassle from people who don't think my fics are happy enough at the end because I don't like to tie all the ends up. I really, really hate pointless epilogues - NOTE, not all epilogues are pointless, and some of them I love - but the ones where it's just an unnecessary flash forward and all the problems are solved and they've got 2.5 children and a beautiful house and everything's perfect and it just feels like a horror story to me, like a fannish/romance novel version of the stepford wives. If it's an epilogue where the characters have had a bit of a chance to breathe after the main events, and they're happy, GREAT. If it's a cookie cutter ending then I'm out, so I guess maybe the end of Emperor's New Clothes where they're trying living together and trying to be financial partners in their relationship, and Not Your Fault But Mine, where Louis and Nick are together but it isn't obvious which route Louis is going to take back to university/he's still struggling with his mental health was still too angsty for some people. To me, both those fics end with them together and planning for a future so they feel happy to me.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I think all of mine are happy but maybe We Used To Wait is the most deserved happy ending, because it's the one where Louis was in an accident and a secret relationship with Nick, and he's in intensive care and his injuries are really bad, and the ending is him getting to perform again, and being out and being with Nick.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

y e p. Sometimes it makes me laugh because this fic very clearly wasn't For You, just press the back button, and sometimes it's more frustrating. Sometimes it's gross.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Oh yeah baby. My current fic is delightfully feral (to me) and I love writing smut. And then other times, I'm like... yes we won't be writing THAT right now thank you, no sex please we're British. Usually I have one week per month when I vastly prefer everyone keep their clothes on. Love a weird hormonal flux.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I have in the past, but in general now I can't be bothered. I definitely wrote a Sharpe/Doctor Who one back in the day.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yeah, a few times. The most egregious (and recent) was someone stealing We Used To Wait (which was Louis/Nick) and changing the names to Aaron and Robert, and amending various little bits to suit Emmerdale canon. If you're going to steal a fic, it's best to do it in a fandom I'm not in/I don't fucking read in, for the love of fuck.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes, I love having a blanket transformation policy on AO3. I'm always so in awe of people wanting to engage with your writing like that.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes! A couple of short ones and then the delicious Sugar, We're Going Down which I co-wrote with my very dear Anonymous friend, and we didn't ever think we were going to share it when we wrote it (hence why my friend is anonymous on it!) so we just went balls to the wall feral with it.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

I don't have an answer to this, but if I ever considered something my OTP I will go to my grave loving it. I love Louis/Nick so much, and each OTP before that. Right now I'm extremely focused on Max/Daniel and I don't see that going anywhere soon.

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Nope, I have the I Had Rather sequel and Harry Styles Cooks outstanding but hopefully they'll both get an ending when the time's right, even if it's just me reading them.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue? Angst? IDK??!! Help!

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Oh, action and description for sure. I'm not a very visual writer/reader, I very rarely have a picture of a character in my head or the space that they inhabit. I know everything they say, though.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I'd be worried about fucking it up. If I knew someone who was a native speaker and it worked, then I guess.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Young Americans technically, then probably Percy/Oliver in Harry Potter and Dom/Billy for the Lord of the Rings films.

20. Favorite fic you've written?

I Had Rather Hear My Dog Bark At A Crow - I loved writing this, it came together in a few weeks, it made me fall in love with the pairing, legit changed my life for various reasons and I just enjoy it a lot.

I love your blog title. I love that when DJenks made his announcement this month, I went into the tags all morose and accepting defeat, and I saw you there still ready to fight, not giving up, ready for a marathon. Truly, that means SO much to me. A little bit of hope is a powerful thing to have, and we need people who are determined to keep that flame burning bright. So happy to have you in this fandom. You really do make a difference. 💕

Aw, thank you! I really appreciate it. And yeah, I'd almost forgotten about my blog title, which I've had for over a decade, and how hope really does embody me and everything I do.

The streaming landscape is in upheaval, things are changing by the week - even since our turbo-cancellation was announced, two other shows (cancelled for much longer) were saved. Like others have been saying, we were all mentally prepared for a marathon and realistically I don't think anyone can just call everything off after just two months when so many shows have to fight for years before getting a movie deal. I respect David - he told us that news so that we'd know that there's nothing more we can accomplish right now by shouting at streamers, and that we did make a difference. There WERE interested parties, we proved we were lucrative. But that does not mean the fight is over, it just means we need to change tactics and pivot to keeping the fandom active and vocal in the long-term, and bide our time until shifts in the industry open new doors for revisiting OFMD (like David Zaslav leaving, or Max going under, or another merger). That might be six months, or it might be six years. What I am certain of is that there's so much love and passion for this show from the cast and crew that everyone would be down to get the gang back together for a season 3 years down the road.

Basically, I have no doubts the fandom will persist - this fandom is composed of very enthusiastic and artistically talented people who have an unending well of inspiration to draw from. What I do think needs to be done though, that I'm seeing wane a bit on Twitter, is to ensure we direct that noise; most people have stopped using OFMD hashtags, which means our posts won't get noticed. Something that has been great is just how vehemently the fandom has gone after Max on pretty much every single promotional post they've made in the past few weeks - check any of them out, and you'll see 95-100% of the comments are OFMD fans using #DontStreamonMax and #FireDavidZaslav , plus the great new tagline 'Sell The Show, Let Us Go'. That is something that I feel is critical we keep up, as I think one of the most powerful means of influence we have right now is to hold this industry responsible for the cancellation of queer content and just quality content overall. That's one direction we can really put our might towards - toppling the WBD empire faster. Other things we can shout for are a physical release, 'The Jenkins Cut' of s2ep8, deleted scenes/bloopers, merchandise, etc. Max is being absolutely idiotic right now in a way that shoots themselves in the foot, because they're holding onto this IP that could have been their lifeline for keeping subscribers and stock prices up, and not only did they cancel it but they're not even maximizing on the rights they refuse to sell by promoting it or making merch of it, anything that could continue to bring in revenue for what they KNOW without a doubt is one of the best performing shows they've ever had on their platform. Them trying to forget OFMD exists is the nail in their own coffin, because it's the only reason a whole lot of people ever did business with Max in the first place.

So, the long and short of it is, I'll never stop having hope for the return of our show! David said we got the attention of this industry, and we've proven our worth. It's just a really unstable landscape right now, so we need to be patient. It's annoying to see these streamers invest in less successful and more expensive shows, but I think they're all panicking to stay afloat even though they're not making decisions that could help them there. The dust needs to settle. If we can show that there's still a loud and passionate fanbase in a year, in three years, then they will revisit us. We need to keep calling out WBD and Max, we need to keep using hashtags to be heard, and just try to settle into a rhythm that we can maintain long-term. We still have a bunch of BTS to see from Samba, and we will have WJW with David at some point. I think it's important that we DON'T request any season 3 info from him, because that's what jeopardizes the possibility of that storyline then ever getting made. I'm seeing some people on Twitter start to burn out or fall into a state of sad acceptance and if you need to do that for your health, that's fine. But I don't want that mindset to spread throughout the fandom. Our outlook, our words, do have the power to become reality - if we sit back and wave the white flag, then that seriously hurts our chances of ever getting the show back. But if we can carry on like it's just a season hiatus, continuing to demand the question 'ok so WHEN *taps watch*' then our insistence can help make season 3 a reality.

So today I learned of this "Honk Weather Control Center" account on twitter (@HonkForecast) and I have to say it's pretty great. So far for several days they've had "clown" forecasts for how much we should be clowning. Love it.
