"Quick!" A- a girl? Wraps their arm around Steph's own, dragging her close and shielding their own face. Their eyebrows are knitted together, they're biting their lip.

"Pretend we're out together please– there are some creepy people following me for some time."

Steph's eyes narrow, she scoots closer, practically glueing herself to the strangers side and smiling brightly.

"Gosh," she starts, then lowers her voice, "what should I call you?"

They fumble for a moment too long, and Steph takes a leap of faith.

The blond grins. "It's been so long since we met up again, isn't it, Beatrice!"

The stranger plays along, giggling behind their hand. "I'm sorry, you know I've been terribly busy," they raise an eyebrow at steph, asking for her name silently.

"Agnes," she whispers, and they repeat. "Agnes! My cats have been missing you too, you should come over more."

"I will, I will," Steph promises, peering behind her to watch out, and just like her new friend warned her, there were some weirdos in white lab coats and some in suits walking around, searching.

"Thank you." 'Beatrice' whispers as they walk around a building, leaving the place in the dust.

"No problem." Steph replies with a smile.

They separate once far enough, and 'beatrice' fiddles with something before handing it to her.

"My number," 'beatrice' explains at the bewildered look. "You're pretty cool, I thought– maybe you'd like to stay in contact?"

"Yes!" She jumps at the opportunity, taking the number with care and getting out her phone.

"My name is Danny, He/him." they speak in low tones, steph following right by their side as they continue.

"Steph, She/Her." She shoots him a quick wink before sending a text and hearing the sound of Danny's notification ping.

"I gotta go now. It was really nice to meet you, steph."

"A joy for me as well."

So you know the scene at the end of The Taming of The Shrew where they have that stupid competition to see whose wife is most obedient? Can you imagine if other Shakespeare characters were there?

Ophelia: You called, My Lord?

Hamlet: No I didn’t. Why are you here when nobody likes you? Go away!

Petruchio: Even I think that’s mean.

Romeo: Go find Juliet and ask her if she would come here and tell her she has the most beautiful eyes, that make the very sun seem dull, and the loveliest hair and a face that puts to shame Aphrodite herself...oh and bring her this sonnet I wrote her...and actually I’ll go find her myself for I can’t bear to be apart from her another moment!

Petruchio: …

Petruchio: … Yeah he’s not coming back. Next!

Coriolanus: Go find my wife and ask her to come here and also ask her if she's seen Aufidius. Actually, have you seen Aufidius...or heard any news of him?

Servant: No I haven't… Is there a name or a description I could use to find your wife?

Coriolanus: Hold on. I know this one.

Petruchio: Wow... We’ll come back to you. Next!

Orlando: I refuse to participate in this farce. It’s demeaning to women.

“Ganymede”: Nonsense! Any real man (which I totally am) wants women to obey him without question!

Orlando: That’s wrong! That’s not being a “real man”; that’s just being a bully. I would never treat Rosalind that way and I hope no one else would either!

“Ganymede”: … You pass the test.

Orlando: What?

"Ganymede": What?

Benedick: HEY BEATRICE!

Beatrice from 3 rooms away: WHAT?

Benedick: CAN YOU COME HERE A SECOND?

Beatrice: WHY?

Benedick: SOME MAN HERE WANTS TO SEE IF YOU’RE OBEDIENT.

Beatrice: WHY ARE YOU PERPETUATING THE OBJECTIFICATION OF WOMEN INSTEAD OF PUNCHING HIM IN THE FACE?

Benedick: YOU MEAN YOU DON’T WANT TO COME HERE AND SHOW OFF YOUR OBEDIENCE? I AM SHOCKED AND HEARTBROKEN!

Beatrice: HA. HA. SO HILARIOUS.

Beatrice: … HE STILL DOESN’T SOUND VERY PUNCHED IN THE FACE. I SUGGEST YOU FIX THAT UNLESS YOU WANT TO SLEEP ON THE COUCH FOREVER!

watevr. had these in my files for a while.. Mimi (she/it) is an alien being that merged with printer ink when crashing into the copier machine in Beatrice's workplace. she can mimic anything she can see visually, but she cannot mimic voices. u see where i'm going with this. she befriends Amazing Rope Guy and they commit crimes together <3 her weakness is water tho so she's easily defeated by that lol

Here's my other character, Bailey! :D

She was introduced circa 1942 to help promote victory gardens in a way that would be easy to understand for children! She's a spitfire carrot farmer who loves to go on wacky adventures with the big three! However, Bendy does tend to get on her nerves...if there's one thing she hates more than Lotsabucks, it's laziness.

So, saw an OTGW post I reblogged some time back earlier today, and yeah, seeing as how I'm still on my spooky kick (along with Cartoon Network releasing a new short for OTGW that just validates me further), you want to know what one of my favorite parts of OTGW is?

Just how much the teenage characters act like real, well, teenagers.

This is admittedly platforming off that other post, but Wirt spends most of the series ignoring Greg and not really paying attention to his little brother's well-being, treating him like a nuisance, but he's never outright hateful or bullying towards Greg, in his world, Greg is basically just some kid he's stuck with. And yes, seeing him come around and FINALLY start acting like a good big brother to him was incredibly satisfying.

In addition, from how Wirt talks about his life back in his world, and especially Jason Funderberker, it's treated as if he's a social outcast back home and Jason your typical jerky highschool rival. But then when we get to see what it's really like back home, not one person treats Wirt like he's at the bottom of the highschool pecking order.

And yes, it could be the ambiguous time period, but there aren't any jerk jocks or mean cheerleaders among Wirt's peers--they're ALL kind of dorks, Funderberker included. Heck, especially Funderberker. For as much as Wirt plays him up as a jerk, Jason is, if anything, even more of a nerd than Wirt himself...and he's not even intentionally malicious or spiteful.

This series is wonderful.
