Bruh, since the holidays are over, I have to get a second job. Only because there are virtually no hours and I know the store is only going to give me 10 hours a week. So I have been putting in applications for part-time work, so I can pay off my credit cards and get a car.

Last year was the biggest struggle bus, I got sick on Christmas eve, my roommate at the time was bullying me, and I was in the process of signing the lease for my new place and moving all my shit. Now that I know what I'm up against, mama is making sure her bills are 1000% paid.

I would like to thank RTD for making so many people look back at Thirteen's Era and start to go "you know what? Maybe we judged the writing too harshly on this one." Maybe it is a good idea to bring in new writers and more women and people of color behind the scenes and allow them to write and direct things like Demons of the Punjab (top 5 ever Doctor Who episode) and the Haunting of Villa Diodati and Fugitive of the Judoon. Maybe Thirteen WAS camp, because the universe who decided to be a frog and the mud that did witchcraft and the Pting and the plastic that ate birds were unhinged and fun. Maybe we got some GORGEOUS cinematography out of it. Maybe Thirteen's take on gender is more interesting than the 60th anniversary specials. Maybe Yaz DID get an arc in the Flux/standalone specials and people just didn't pay attention. Maybe the Power of the Doctor paid more respect to former eras of Doctor Who than any of the 60th anniversary specials did. Maybe Chibnall acted with far more grace to the RTD Era (Jack) than RTD did to Chibnall (treatment of Yaz and Thirteen). Maybe it was actually cool to see less well-known or underexplored historical figures like Mary Seacole and Ada Lovelace and Nikola Tesla and Noor Inayat Khan end up onscreen. Maybe Thasmin wasn't queerbait, it was an interesting exploration of the doctor/companion romance IN KEEPING with Thirteen's established character with one of its keystone episodes written by a queer woman.

Yes, Chibnall was flawed. I'm never gonna pretend that the Battle of Ranskoor Av Kalos wasn't a piss poor finale that felt like a first draft of themes and idea. I'm not gonna pretend like the multiple companions in the TARDIS ever felt properly balanced or explored. Yes, the moment with the Master and the Nazis was FUCKED UP. The Timeless Child might have deserved more than one episode for the ImplicationsTM to be fleshed out. But EVERY Doctor Who Era has its flaws, ESPECIALLY when it comes to racism, and I'm TIRED pretending as if Chibnall's writing is significantly worse than the other two showrunners.

We never really got to see them hang out one on one during the events of Camp Cretaceous (except once, and they were competing to see who’s lack of a childhood gave them the better skill set so) Idk, we only get a snippet of their dynamic in Chaos Theory, I just think their friendship (especially as adults) would be pretty interesting :3

Not really an ask but a mutual complaint. I don't get why because 14 settled down and 15 is "healed" that we're supposed to be OK that they got to find love and happiness easily but 13 didn't.

We’re supposed to be okay with it because no one likes 13. The majority of the fandom either won’t give her a chance because of bad faith criticism or are the ones making it. I had someone tell me before I even started watching her, after I mentioned that if I were to watch Dr who, it’d be her, tell me that I wouldn’t like her because the writing was atrocious(it’s not).

13 can’t even have a relationship with the woman who she said she wants to spend eternity with (or smth of the like in legend of the sea devil), can’t kiss, can’t hold hands, can’t even hug! Yaz and 13 hug a single time unless I’m remembering wrong, which is as likely as it isn’t with how much I’ve watched her era.

But 14 gets to settle down with Donna and her family. He gets to have a tardis and his old bestie from like 1000 years ago, he gets to heal. He gets what everyone and their mom wanted 10 to get. He gets a happy ending.

And 15 gets to mention his trauma in a light tone, he doesn’t have the crushing weight of guilt every other doctor had, no, he’s healed! He gets to go on silly little adventures with his best friend who is actually super mysterious and that’s a totally good thing to hold up like a treat to a fucking mutt. They get to hug! 3 times in one episode. I remember that specifically because every time it happened I felt a pang of annoyance and pettiness.

This isn’t to say I don’t like 15. I really do like him, he’s fun and he’s really the only reason I’d continue watching the newest season. I just- can’t juggle my love and loyalty to 13(srsly I’ve had to stop myself from starting fights multiple times in the last 24 hours) with seeing him get what she never did.

I understand why they brought David tenant back. He is a great ways to get views, the majority of people really love him and I know at least my mom watched she specials especially to see him, my friend started watching Dr who bc they love him. I just wish they would’ve given 13 a happier ending. I wish they would MENTION yaz. Even if not by name. It’d be easy- really it would, have them spend some time in the tardis- have Ruby touch something and 15 be like “no touching- only one human is allowed to fly her” or smth like that (idc if that’s wrong. I don’t. Don’t comment telling me if this is wrong.)

We’re supposed to be fine with 13’s ending be bittersweet, when the doctor after her gets an almost too perfect happy ending, and 15 gets to be healed from his trauma (not how trauma works) because they don’t care. They don’t care about 13, they don’t care about yaz, they don’t care about thasmin fans, they don’t care about fans they got with her, they just don’t care. And that’s- fine. But I won’t watch his series

what are your yasmina headcanons if you have any?

i don't think I've ever specifically thought of headcannons for yaz, but i do have a few!

- her and ben both have movie nights together, and they both dyed their hair together on a dare

- before she discovered that running was her passion she tried for softball

- rarely ever watches tv, but she loves to watch bob ross or have it in the background

- wants to be able to paint so bad, but has trouble getting the hang of it

- has been growing her hair for years now because her mother loves her hair, so she tries so hard to not cut her hair when she gets the urge to do so

- runs like a freezer, her room is practically antarctica due to how cold it is

- sammy's family loves yaz, they want her over all the time

so if im thinking what my ideal ending for amy/rory would have been i think we would have nixed the whole river is her daughter storyline for so so so so so so many reasons, but the reason she leaves is... yeah she gets pregnant and realizes she wants to raise a family with rory. OR! something more like she knows rory's still going for her but he's ready to settle down and live life one day at a time and she kind of does it for him. like another version of her choosing rory/a family with rory/family life in general over the crazy adventure life with the doctor which i think suits her arc

alternatively, i think god complex is a good ending if it had been the proper ending.

It's not very related to the topic, it's more of a vent and a paranoid though than I'm having when I show more of my character in the future.

I think inverting the blonde jock and nerdy asian kid tropes was genius but I’m also always going to be extremely bitter about how colorist yaz’ design process was. why did her skin get lighter in every round of art? how come she started off as a brown skin girl then became nearly white passing in the show (as in, people have argued with me that she isn’t a woc over how ambiguous they make her)? is it not weird? kausar is a visibly tan-skin person yet yasmina isn’t allowed to be the same? it reeks of corporate meddling and colorist (orientalist) ideals about asian women

Bruh, so I got sick on and after Christmas, to the point I had to call off on the 26th. So I knew my next day in was on that Friday, the 29. I had to open at 8 which was weird but I was late, and when I got there I apologized to one of the managers for being late. She waved it off and told me it was a performance evaluation meeting.

Bruh when I tell you I was simmering with rage, I'm not talking about slightly bubbling, nah I'm talking full-on about boiling over because these hoes got me messed up. Not only did the GM call me and another coworker out for being low performing but he called out the people who are doing well but are still missing the mark.

At least when I worked in food it was everyone's job to cook, prep, clean, and properly store food. I hated how some people took advantage of my hardworking nature and abused my kindness, but working in a credit card/membership retail environment is another beast.
