i agree!
pushing the fdp out of the coalition was probably one of the first good things that scholz did
elections in march are soon, and both extremist parties that might get into paliament are doing good in polls (wtf the afd is in second place), but it wouldn‘t be any different in september
scholz move was smart, because is gives both the spd as well as the greens a way to blame the fdp for everything and maybe convince some voters that they aren‘t as bad as the right claims. it might be a way to prevent undemocratic parties getting more votes, and to keep our parliament functioning
i‘m really excited to see what‘s to come!
because trump being reelected apparently wasn‘t dramatic enough for today, german politics started to go batshit
the minister of finance just got fired!

theres something funny about the fucking chancellor going on tv cuz 300k+ ppl are going out protesting nazis and saying "yeah dudes! nazis suck! :) we love our fellow immigrants! they helped build germany and worked hard so now we are gonna reward them with citizenship yay <3 also we increased the control of our borders and decreased the number of illegal immigrants yay :) and we have a new law that makes deportation easy :) but nazis are our enemies!"
fuck you, scholz. i hate you. go die.

Yay I can read Chancellor Scholz's text on his Instagram post about the Oscars! Some words I didn't understand but.
I can basically read basic German. Now can I actually understand regular spoken German (keep up with it) and actually speak more than simple sentences.

Update #2: DID THE GOVERNMENT REALLY FINALLY COLLAPSE BACK IN GERMANY???????????? HUH????
Update: terrified for the next 4 years and after but will be eternally grateful that it's not harris if only for the fact that 1. The idea that democrats were testing the waters to see if the line could be drawn past genocide and were anything BUT successful in that comes as a huge reassurance that there's at least a population of people living in the US who have SOME conscience, actually and 2. in regards to the line NOT being drawn way too far out im glad someone's in office where liberals aren't AFFORDED the luxury of comfort they were trying to cushion themselves with under Harris and actually are going to suddenly start caring about issues (re: the genocide all those evils tankies endorsed fascism with by refusing to support it even under the FRIENDLIER looking hitler 😠😠😠) now instead of pretending everything is great because the president is blue 😃
