So, been watching through X’s little nightmares (1 and 2) playthrough, plus read through the lore and going to look more deeply into it as well (aka, I’ve gotten attached to these characters)

He and Deuce were arguing about something stupid and it was getting heated

To the point that, when Ace tried to run, Deuce summoned a cauldron to try to stop him

You had just been standing there, minding your damn business while they did their thing, not noticing Ace behind you until Deuce shouted for you to look out

He'd summoned the cauldron above your head on accident, too focused on trying to nail Ace

You caught it with one hand, like nothing, and just tossed it aside

Ace was thrilled about this new information

Constantly asks you to lift things now. Never anything important, never that it needed to be lifted, just to see if you could

That couch? What about that boulder? Can you lift me?

You pick him up and toss him into the air like a stuffed animal. He doesn't ask again despite how fun it was

Deuce Spade

He was so worried when he almost hit you with the cauldron that was meant for Ace, he would've felt so bad

But when you caught it and tossed it aside like a mild inconvenience, he was SO impressed

He would also want to experiment about it, mostly summoning a bunch of cauldrons in a stack for you to lift

You caught him off guard when you folded one of them shut

He's incredibly impressed every time you show off your strength, he thinks it's so cool

Leona Kingscholar

You offered to help him haul the Spelldrive equipment to the stadium for practice

He didn't really think you'd be much help, but knock yourself out ig

Doesn't show it outright other than maybe an impressed "huh," but mans is stunned when he watches you hoist a full bag of discs over one shoulder and a full bag of pads over the other

He knows from experience those bags aren't light

You're gonna come haul equipment for them next time, right?

Epel Felmier

The jealousy coursing though his veins

He was also there when you offered to help Leona with the Spelldrive equipment

Expects you to carry some brooms or maybe a water cooler

Openly gawks when he watches you toss the disc bag over your shoulder like a pillow

They usually have to use a cart to get it to the stadium, what do you mean you can just pick it up???

You have to explain to him that your strength is from being half fae and you don't think he could just strength train his way up to your level

Sebek Zigvolt

He talks you into sparring with him one time, and he can tell you're pulling punches

Straight up yells at you about it "if you're going to hold back, you may as well not have even shown up!"

Refuses to admit that, even while you're pulling punches, it still hurts pretty significantly

Refuses to believe that you could easily kill him if you didn't hold back

After way too much back and forth about it, you end up punching one of Diasomnia's stone walls to prove your point, your fist going through it easier than drywall

Well, of course you're strong, you have fae blood in your veins!

On a totally unrelated note, what's your training regimen like?

Divus Crewel

Your lab partner dropped a closed vial of an essential ingredient into the grate under your cauldron during cold mix lesson

Crewel was mildly annoyed but went to get you a new batch, he'd have to fish the dropped one out once the cauldron was emptied after class

But when he turned back to hand bring you the vial, he saw you with the full cauldron lifted into the air and your lab partner crouching underneath to grab the dropped vial

He just about had a heart attack

Lectures you for the rest of class about how it doesn't matter if you can lift the full cauldron, what if it were to spill on someone? Or what if your hand slipped and you dropped it on your lab partner?

Despite his disappointment in your obvious lack of lab safety, he was impressed

Might see if you can help set labs up on occasion, save him the spell usage

Story

A traveller out of time and space, Lǐyú finds themselves stranded on Black Wind Mountain, alone and at the mercy of its hostile inhabitants.

Taking pity, the Keeper of Black Wind Mountain takes them in and assigns them the position of <Shrine Caretaker>, a minor position that oversees the upkeep and maintenance of the various shrines within Black Wind Mountain.

Under the elder Keeper’s care, Lǐyú begins to familiarise themselves with their new circumstances through the Keeper's guidance. Inbetween duties, Lǐyú takes the time to learn and record the world about them in an effort to understand and survive.

This routine persists for several weeks, until the arrival of a certain monkey.

Lǐyú is an optional (Companion) to the [Destined One], who may join your party after accepting the request of the Keeper of the Black Wind Mountain.

Accepting Lǐyú as a (Companion) will unlock their personal quest <<Long Way From Home>>.

Stats

Although physically weak, Lǐyú is a valuable companion of the Destined One and shows surprising tenacity against the challenges of this new world.

(Companion) Lǐyú has 5 stats to upgrade from LVL 1. Stamina Recovery Rate and Damage Reduction stats are unlocked after clearing Chapter 1 ‘Black Wind, Red Fire’.

Abilities

[Luck that goes against the Heavens]

Lǐyú's fortunes are known to dip and rise in unusual patterns.

While they often come across opportunities to gather precious materials, ingredients or equipment, it is always accompanied by mortal peril.

Their Luck is so unnatural that it defies the natural balance of the world, so fortuitous encounters often come with the risk of danger in an effort to suppress their Luck.

(Companion) Lǐyú has MAX LVL [LUCK].

Can inflict one of the following debuffs to enemies within their range: Increased Miss Rate, Reduced Critical Hit chance, Reduced Movement Speed, Reduced Resistance to the Four Banes

Grants one buff to allies, 2 buffs to Companions (for more information, please see BUFFS page)

Increase the rate of EQUIPMENT/LOOT drops and discovery of precious ingredients/materials

Due to their nature, (Companion) Lǐyú will influence the [Destined One]'s own [LUCK].

Warning: should Lǐyú enter the STRESSED state, their [LUCK] will start to indiscriminately target allies and foes alike.

Will attract enemy AGGRO within a certain radius if not using Stealth

Allies and Companions will be afflicted with one random debuff: Increased Miss Rate, Reduced Critical Hit chance, Reduced Movement Speed, Reduced Resistance to the Four Banes

It is recommended that the [Destined One] keep Lǐyú's STRESS to a minimum.

Skills

(Companion) Lǐyú should come equipped with the following skills prior to joining the [Destined One].

Shrine Caretaker: Taught the basic upkeep and care of shrine maintenance. Allows Lǐyú to access the hub-world like the [Destined One].

Stealth: the ability to sneak past lesser yaoguais. However, skill will increases STRESS on Lǐyú. Can be upgraded.

Additional skills can be attained or unlocked through the completion of quests or advancing the main storyline.

TIP: Lǐyú is purely a support type (Companion) with little to no attack skills and prone to causing unexpected changes to main storyline. May the [Destined One] keep this in mind.

Spells

Due to limited Mana, Lǐyú cannot perform any spells.

Upon the completion of the <<Teacher for a Day>> quest, Lǐyú can begin training to increase mana and unlock [Spells].

In Chapter 3 ‘White Snow, Ice Cold’, Lǐyú can trigger the optional side quest <<Teacher for a Day>> upon meeting (Companion) Zhu Bajie.

Curios

Due to limited space, can only equip one curio at a time.

Upon meeting the Yin Tiger or upgrading to Legendary quality armour, Lǐyú can increase their curio slot by +1.

Current slot:

Wind Chime: Rare quality. Found while exploring the ruins of an old temple at the bottom of the mountain. Slightly increases movement speed. “Hark, the wind rises! That yaoguai must be coming this way!”

Inventory

(Companion) Lǐyú starts off with 10 inventory slots. These are their starting equipment:

Journal: Never seems to run out of paper. Lǐyú can use this item to access daily observations, enemy weaknesses and important landmarks/discovered secret realm locations.

Gourd: unknown quality, gifted by Yuan Shoucheng. A mysterious item that will grow along with it's user, has yet to show any special abilities. Can be upgraded.

Backpack: unknown quality, bigger inside than out. Carries all of Lǐyú's belongings.

Smartphone: rare quality. A keepsake from Lǐyú's world. Interacting with this item with the [Destined One] can trigger side quest <<???>>. “What a marvelous device!”

Fruit Leather: peach-flavoured. A consumable item that can raise the [Destined One]'s favourability.

Equipment

(Companion) Lǐyú starts off with the following equipment:

Old Temple Garb: rare quality. Gifted by the Keeper of Black Wind Mountain, who claims it was left behind by the previous Shrine Caretaker.

Cotton wristwraps: common quality. Plain but sturdy, in surprisingly good condition.

Cotton legwraps: common quality. Plain but sturdy, in surprisingly good condition.

Sneakers: unknown quality, but undeniably tough. A foreign brand gifted by their best friend. Claims to be both water-proof and fire-proof.

Hoodie: rare quality. A limited edition print from Lǐyú's favourite brand. Offers no defensive abilities but brings a sense of comfort. Can decrease the rate of Lǐyú's STRESS.

Quest Objectives

Lǐyú's final objective is to return to their original world. This can be completed by first completing main quest <<Revive Sun Wukong>>

Although I have gone back and forth regarding the whole part, Sen's parents are a whole different approach from Joule's, while his' got all negligent towards the only hatchling they did not care for; hers' tried all possible ways (known and not) to start a family of their own. They wanted something of their own and wanted it to be of both.

Ancient dragons can't breed with each other, but they made it work and while she did not look like it she shares so much more of both of them than what can be assumed at first glance.

Many attempts went into bringing Sen into the world, many restless nights, fears and dying eggs. So when their latest attempt bore it's first success the couple were more than elated and grateful for the small hatchling that crawled off that nest but Solan (auraboa) couldn't help the small bitter disappointment in their chest as they held the baby close and saw a slightly off aether hatchling no different from their mate; Karras (aether) who noticed the beaten pride off the auraboa who spent their time and care to their child disproportionately more than him and who had the highest hopes to see it come through, tried to alleviate their feelings by being by their side and making light out of their first (and hopefully not last) born. It helped Solan but nevertheless their ego still hurt. And all future attempts drove that wrench deeper in their soul. And all that came after...

As for Sen herself, it would be helpful if she could recall at least that. If she knew what it meant. but alas it means nothing to her, it may never be nothing but trouble for her. if anything it's what brought her to were she is now and that is complicated, to say the least.

OFFICIALLY HALFWAY THROUGH BPJD!!!!!! so that means. that I just watched ep31. aka the episode where Yuuta has to sneak into an all-girl's school to investigate a series of thefts. the fabled crossdressing episode....! haha I've been pretty excited for it because early on when I first started watching the show I was like. I'm picking up a closet transfem vibe from Yuuta..... trust me on this... and then i learned there was an episode where Yuuta crossdresses and i was like WOAAHHH I'll can my egg hc 'till I get to that one so i can see how Yuuta reacts and gauge it from there >:)))) AND . AND yes there was that classic 'ah so embarrassing!' bit but it was short-lived, Yuuta modeled dresses in front of his family/neighbors who all support and they're all like yesss omg you're soooo cute ^_^! try on this one next! IT WAS ADORABLE HONESTLY AWAAGAH So Yuuta goes by Yuuko in the school, and there's not too much shown of her life but shes not really embarrassed at all to be dressed up as a girl/wearing a skirt, the only times where she really seems hesitant is when other characters poke fun at her(and even thats just light ribbing! theres no 'omg why are you dressed like a GIRL when youre a GUY THATS SO DUMB' or 'you look so masculine and out of place' none of that!!) I am in love with bpjd and I think this is one of my fav episodes now...(minus the villain tbh.the catholic theming was fun but like her design was just... uhh no thanks) the surrounding characters gave off a really understanding and supportive vibe we love to see it !!!! lets fucking go Yuuko so happy for you!!!!!!!!!!!!

I genuinely think he would have succeeded. Viktor (as we see) is almost his moral compass in S1-beginning of 2. The quick lesson he learns (after Viktor says they shouldn't make weapons) is that Viktor is right, and he regrets it. He's emotion then action then thinking.

He would have killed her, likely with some injury to himself, but I do think he would have succeeded.

And it wouldn't have made anything better.

Another hella specific scenario that caters to me and like maybe one other follower:

Platonic friendship between an old Vulcan and a young Human that always strikes everyone as odd because the Vulcan is like their version of crotchety old person and the Human, although they don’t go out of their way to be social, is a bubbly and sweet person

And so everyone’s just confused because ?? those two?? friends??, so more people start investigating and they notice more odd stuff, stuff like:

• the Vulcan’s actually better at social situations and will instruct the Human on how to get through them (??)

• the Human speaks v literally at times and will get confused by stuff other Human crewmates have no problem understanding, and the Vulcan will explain it to them

• the Human is actually even more of a stickler for protocol and rules than the Vulcan is

• the ship had gotten pretty trashed in a fight once and when it got fixed the computer voice got updated and it’s artificial personality changed a tiny bit and the Human was in tears over it for weeks because their “friend” was gone despite no deaths being reported from the fight

So obviously rumors get spread around that the Human isn’t actually Human and is some kind of android made by the Vulcan for whatever reason (why a young bubbly cute human???)

But of course that’s not what’s actually happening, the Human is just autistic and finds the Vulcan to be the easiest to communicate with

(Also there’s some time traveling shenanigans, the Human isn’t up to date on all this new stuff so the Vulcan informs them on everything, I also like the age differences because maybe the Human isn’t that far from their time, and the Vulcan is just so old that they’re technically from around the same birth year, which adds fuel to the fire because “what do you mean you’re the same age?? humans don’t live that long and that is definitely a young human??”)
