The Great Indian Family, starring Vicky Kaushal, has been certified UA, and advance booking has begun.
CBFC stands for Central Board of Film Certification. The film's runtime is 112.16 minutes (1 hour, 52 minutes, 16 seconds), and advance booking has begun. Aditya Chopra produced the film, which was directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. Manushi Chhillar, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Yashpal Sharma, Sadiya Siddiqui, Alka Amin, Srishti Dixit, Bhuvan Arora, Aasif Khan, Ashutosh Ujjwal, and Bharti Perwani also appear in the film.
In terms of the trailer, it starts with narration from Bhajan Kumar, or Ved Vyas Tripathi (played by Vicky Kaushal), a devotional singer. He calls himself the "undisputed king of bhajans" in Balrampur. The viewer is then introduced to Bhajan Kumar's ultra-traditional family. Bhajan Kumar's love interest is played by Manushi Chhillar.
Vicky reads a letter that changes the path of Bhajan Kumar's life after a dancing montage. According to the letter, Bhajan Kumar was born into a household of a different faith. Bhajan Kumar's family decides to separate from him. He searches for his true identity while attempting to win the love and acceptance of his now-distant family. The film will be released in theaters on September 22, 2023.

I - GENERAL
he has issues okay, like a lot of issues. raichands are NOT a normal family from any angle.
older sibling syndrome, attachment issues, self identity issues, anxiety, perfectionist behavior, self doubt, self loathing etc. the list goes on.
he needs a therapist.
anyways, is very close to his mother who by the way isn't as good as she looks in the movie. this has nothing to do with how I feel abt jaya bachchan I am talking abt nandini raichand here
she was relatively immature emotionally and not well accustomed to raichand household when rahul was adopted.
that made her very unsure of whether to emotionally handle herself or give it to her adopted son.
was very protective of him on some instances while other he was left totally unguarded emotionally and otherwise, that created a internal conflict in him.
the friction became clear crack in his sense of belonging and identity when he found out he was adopted. another exhibit of nandini and yash being shit parents, why was a eight year old able to find out he is adopted
by the time he reached say 12, rohan was born and the older sibling syndrome kicked it pretty fast. I will tell you why
see rohan was said to be a miracle child right? but him being born took a toll on nandini and yash is a absent father most of the time.
basically it a early teen rahul managing his baby brother and recovering mother along with daijaan before he eventually left for boarding school.
he was bullied in the said school for being shy, soft and goody-two shoes.
it gave rise to his anxiety issues and he had a handful attacks of it throughout his 10 years of board schooling.
when he came back from his boarding school he faced some sharp edged criticism for his conduct and how raichands weren't this meek and soft kind of, from yash.
it made him think a lot about himself and how "wrongly" different from his father, creating a sense of self doubt and self loathing in him.
It made him slowly change his whole style and come to be the confident, charming rahul we see in the movie.
he can cook really well.
has trouble sleeping, his life away from raichands very slowly nursed it to let him have some amount of sleep eventually but still it's hard for him to fall asleep.
has some degree high functioning depression.
HE NEEDS CARE AND ATTENTION.
II - ROMANTIC
SFW
makes the first move.
old school flirt.
buys flowers regularly.
can be clingy at times.
will cook for them whenever he gets the chance.
movie date nights.
gifts as love language
sleeps as big spoon.

he is sub leaning switch.
he might act all confident and stuff but in this original self he is a obident shy baby boy.

I had planned to write this entire fic before posting it, ready for Easter. And then my monkey brain went - we demand validation - post now! So here is the first chapter of a new modern family AU, set in Australia. A little sneak peek to whet your appetite - you can read the first chapter now on AO3.
“Let’s get you inside.”
She looked up then, as if seeing him for the first time.
“Where…where…?”
She was almost incoherent, her eyes blinking in the yellow glow from the light above his front door. He watched as her eyes focused at first on his face, then drifted upwards to latch onto the white canine ears perched atop his head amidst the short shaggy haircut he preferred. Her eyes widened comically.
“I’m the local doctor,” he said, smiling at her in what he hoped was his best bedside manner, which to be fair, usually fell a little short of the mark. “I assume you know that from the sign on the front gate. My name’s Inuyasha Taisho. Yash for short.”
“Inuyasha,” she managed. “Inuyasha will do fine.
He fucking hoped it would, it was the only name he had. “And your name?”
“Kagome Higurashi”.
It wasn’t the most comprehensive patient history he’d ever taken, but it’d do for now.
“Kagome, can you tell me what hurts?”
“Everything!”
It was practically a wail, and he relaxed a little. In his experience, patients who were on death’s doorstep didn’t have the energy to wail.

'til death do us part (vow unbroken)
AO3 Link
Beau plopped herself down on Yasha’s lap, knees on either side of her wife’s hips as she grinned down at Yasha’s tired but fond expression.
Her wife. Beau couldn’t believe she got to say that now.
In some ways, marrying Yasha hadn’t changed things. They had been living in the same simple but homey cottage together for a while now. They shared a bed, a home, a good portion of their lives. Most of this did not change with their newly minted marriage.
In other ways, marrying Yasha changed everything.
Yasha’s hands settled on Beau’s hips, her thumbs smoothing over the bony prominences with easy familiarity. Beau leaned forward enough to bury her fingers in Yasha’s hair—undone from the beautiful, intricate braids she had worn during their wedding earlier.
“Hi,” Yasha hummed.
“Hey,” Beau chuckled, scratching at Yasha’s scalp. “How you doing, babe?”
“Today was wonderful,” Yasha said, eyes bright and voice giddy. “But I’m tired, and glad it’s just us now.”
“Me too,” Beau sighed, leaning down to press a kiss against Yasha’s forehead.
They lingered in the moment's stillness until Yasha shifted beneath Beau. The movement prompted Beau to pull back, just enough to look down at Yasha with a brow raised in question.
“It still doesn’t feel real,” Yasha murmured after a moment. “All of this...joy. I wonder sometimes if this is just a dream.”
Beau heard the things Yasha didn’t say underneath the half-confession. That Yasha wasn’t sure she deserved this, the ever present worry that she had killed Beau back in that cathedral and this was all a made up scenario to cope. Or worse, the lingering effects of a spell lying to her. They’d had this conversation before, and they would likely have it again. Beau understood, more than Yasha might realize.
Sometimes she also couldn’t even believe this was real. But she wasn’t the one who needed convincing right now.
“This is real, Yash,” Beau murmured, bending slightly to catch Yasha’s eye. “I promise.”
Yasha smiled, a tight, close lipped thing—clearly unconvinced but trying not to worry Beau. Realizing she would have to be more persuasive, Beau shifted her weight and smiled.
“You,” Beau said with emphasis as she scooped up one of Yasha’s hands into her own. “Are wonderful.”
Beau leaned down and kissed the pad of Yasha’s ring finger. “You’re thoughtful.” She flipped Yasha’s hand over and kissed her knuckles. “You’re funny.” Beau pressed her lips to the inside of Yasha’s wrist, lingering over her pulse point as she glanced up at her wife.
“You’re gorgeous.”
Yasha flushed but didn’t glance away and left her hand in Beau’s grasp. Beau grinned, moving to kiss the crease of Yasha’s elbow. “You’re strong and brave and unfailingly loyal.”
Shifting her weight forward so she could lean in close, Beau pressed a long kiss to the curve of Yasha’s shoulder. She turned her head to the side and pressed her cheek against the spot she had just kissed, beaming up at Yasha’s flushed cheeks.
“You care so deeply about me and our family.” She heard the shaky exhale Yasha let out as Beau shifted again, moving to drag her lips up the column of Yasha’s throat. She pressed a sweet kiss to the curve of Yasha’s jaw, grinning against the tender skin there.
“You are a monochromatic vision in a world of color.”
Beau leaned back just enough to settle her hands on Yasha’s shoulders and drink in the dazed, loving look she got in return. The words were a familiar weight on Beau's tongue. It was the same thing she had said to Yasha when they were on their first date together, tentative and fumbling and desperate not to fuck up as the threat of imminent death hung over their heads. But here, and now, there was no threat to their lives. There was only the quiet crackle of the fire in their hearth and the deep, comfortable knowledge of security.
With a grin of her own, Beau leaned down and captured Yasha’s lips in a long kiss. It wasn’t anything like the more chaste, somewhat formal kiss they had shared at the altar in front of their friends and family earlier. This was something better, something that tasted like wine and devotion, something holier than Beau could ever imagine.
As they broke apart, lingering scarcely centimeters from each other, Beau said breathlessly, “you’re my wife. And this is real—I promise.”
A grin brighter than anything Beau had ever seen before split across Yasha’s face. Her hands skimmed up Beau’s back to wrap her up in a firm embrace as Yasha laughed, high and sweet.
“You are my wife.” And, oh. Beau understood now why Yasha looked so fucking giddy now. That was such a wondrous thing to proclaim.
Beau buried her face in Yasha's hair, pressing another kiss there as she returned the embrace and laughed. This was familiar, easy. Marrying Yasha hadn't changed anything. Marrying Yasha had changed everything.

LITG S10 VOL VII
First, I have to backtrack- I obviously needed to catch up on the last volume in order to meet the loml, and I have two things to say about it:
It was as icky as I thought it would be 😣
Hayden (your LI of choice) keeping a jar of memories this early in the season was too much🙅🏻♀️
Now for the good stuff:
Isadora is pretty 😍 I’m a bit surprised she’s not coupled with our OG LI for more drama. But then I guess we wouldn’t have to pay to hear about some other girl grafting him 🤑🙄
YASH IS HUSBAND!!! Banter, smart, loves his family and runs his own business?! PLUS HE’S SO HOT 🔥🔥🔥
Oh, a Casa boy that’s a jerk and doesn’t like MC? Tired 🥱
Yash, Caleb and Larson are all very tempting tbh. Good job, fb 👏
Why have both Casa prizes involved people from the Villa? Gimme a date with Yash instead 🥰
Who do you think we’re meeting up with from the Villa next week? Sorry Hayden, I don’t need to see you. And if it’s one of the girls, you know she’s being brought back. Unless it’s a wasted sprite situation like Felicity 🫠🤷🏻♀️

Will say: I find a dislike of FCG specifically because they weren't focused on Ashton that much during the split to be extremely unpleasant and uninteresting, at best. I recall getting a question way back in the early campaign, when I personally couldn't stand FCG, to that effect (ie, "sucks that the person Ashton knew doesn't seem to be doing much") and even then my opinion was "I simply enjoy Ashton enough to not really care about this."
The fact is it was always a much looser and more casual relationship. Ashton quite literally gives up FCG as collateral to Yash Mangal in episode 5. They don't actually talk much, and both of them quickly befriended others in the party. Which is good! Perhaps I'm alone in this but I vastly prefer when the party doesn't know each other that well in advance and we get to see the relationships blossom, rather than leaning too heavily on an informed past.
In a campaign (and honestly, show) where perhaps my greatest complaint about the fandom is that it's shockingly common for people to judge every other character depending on how much they fawn and demur to their personal fave; for people to think friendship is a matter of constant proximity and obsession at the cost of having one's own life and interests; and where currently a very flat, dull, and nonconfrontational relationship is held up by many as the pinnacle of romance; this complaint feels like just more of the same. I truly hope it's just a fandom brain forced found family thing, and not how people treat their friends in real life.

was talking about this with my cool and awesome beloved friend Monty and i think yall deserve to hear it too so:
if Frankie was one of those part-dog people (anthro dog or like Evan from ni no kuni but a dog) and had a tail it would start wagging whenever May kisses him and hes super embarrassed about it at first but May thinks it's seriously the cutest thing ever. and basically heres my thoughts about it
-Lance is an anthro dog person, like how Evan's dad was a grimalkin and that's why hes part dog just like why Evan was part cat. his mum is still whatever ethnicity the Frankie youre thinking of is (i'll be saying Saanvika cause. Yash) and dog Lance is still french
-he has dog ears as well that prick up sometimes
-his tail wags when he gets excited, he cant control it easily but he learned to when he was a teenager (had the same effect as masking + like masking, was harder at certain times and he sometimes failed. also he was masking autism at this time which made things even worse)
-when hes really excited it's a lot harder to mask, and he manages to for a while with May (they obviously know about the tail but not about a lot of stuff with it) but the first time they kiss his hand his tail wags because it's just so cute and romantic to him
-hes so embarrassed about it. he apolagises over and over again and is pretty clearly blushing
-May however thinks it's ADORABLE. like they cant stop giggling over it cause he's just so cute and in the middle of his rambling about it they kiss him again and his tail just wags more even if hes trying to not
-he still tries to hide it after that but after hearing how cute May finds it he tries to work on not, hes also working on not masking autism at the same time. it's hard but he's trying his best
-the fur is soft. not always because growing up he was even more embarrassed about it so he didn't brush it as much, but before Saanvika died she would brush his fur when she was brushing his hair, but now that hes an adult hes taking better care of it (he didn't let it get too bad as a kid though), and May lovesss brushing his tail and ears (hes also a bit hairier than the average person, so his body hair also needs to be brushed). they do it when theyre cuddling or just if hes lying down theyll do it just to have something to do
-May also washes his fur so that it stays soft, and he loves that so much. they normally wash his hair at the same time and he just gets very giggly about it
-since hes obviously still part human + Lance is anthro (i assume that in this universe that's pretty normal, again much like in Ni No Kuni) hes not super dog like, but he does exhibit certain dog traits, although less than the average dog-person since hes half dog
-May genuinely thinks the tail thing is so cute. like they squealed the first time it happened, and they also love that it means hes happy because him being happy makes them happy too
-he also stims still, so he'll be flapping his hands and wagging his tail at the same time
-when hes nervous/shy/scared his tail goes between his legs
-he makes dog noises! for instance growling, barking and whimpering, and he doesnt do it much but for instance if someone seems like theyre going to hurt his friends, family or May he will growl, and whimpering when he wants attention, and barking when hes excited or scared
-sometimes he gets questions about what he thinks of furries because 'well arent they humans pretending to be animals?' and he thinks it's dumb because a lot of furries are also anthro animals and most anthro animals have no problems with it. he is very sick of this question, especially because they tend to come from humans who are just ableist and anti-furry
-adding onto that, Fletcher asked him about dog stuff when he was designing his fursona and he had a lot of fun. these are the kinds of furry questions he actually wants cause he loved helping Fifi
-he has slightly sharper teeth than the average human, but less sharp than the average dog. he likes this a lot
-although being anthro is pretty normal, theres some places where it's not and May is completely ready to punch someone for Frankie. so are Juliet and Romeo and everyone basically
this was pretty fun lol i might do more :)

Of course, you'll hurt me 3 (Rajneeti)
Ramnath Rai is a bitch.
Usually, Amrita prefers not to curse those who do not deserve it but apparently Samar Pratap and his bloodline definitely deserve all the curses that she hurls at their way.
He fucking mentioned politics before he mentioned the health of his relative. And that too in front of several members of the party, who could sell this information to any media outlet, for fun and it'd ruin the party reputation.
Harsh stares at her worriedly as she talks to all of her contacts to minimise the damage.
She walks in the viewing room. "Mamaji, can I have a minute, please?"
All of them stare at her weirdly, an unspoken accusation in their eyes about her presence being unwanted or unnecessary. She doesn't care. She has a job.
Mamaji nods and beckons her to the corner of the room. Amrita feels wary of even saying this in the same room but she can't very well say it outside, with all the vultures lurking. She leans in close to whisper. "Ramnath ji mentioned politics before he even asked for Bhanu uncle's health. Some people heard him and now the rumours have started about his issues with the party."
Mamaji looks away in frustration. He looks back at her and whispers,"What did he say, exactly? Verbatim."
"He said he found this after resigning. That the authority escaped from his hand. He was about to say more but Chandra uncle stopped him." Amrita clears her throat. "I found this out verbatim, mamaji. Someone else may have too."
He eyes her shrewdly. "Any means necessary. This sentence doesn't go out to the public. Not until we decree it."
Amrita nods and is about to leave when Mamaji calls her again. Even as she's looking at him, she can see all the rest of the family looking at her too.
"Any means necessary, Amrita."
With a nod and a cough, she leaves the room.
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
The statement that the doctor gives is written by Yash. It's diplomatic and ambiguous in the same breath, but it holds the truth.
Mamaji has an amused sort of look on his face that Amrita can relate to, when Veerendra escapes the viewing room with some of his own bootlickers and starts to organise a meeting to keep control in their hands.
Behind Veerendra, Amrita makes eye contact with Prithvi, who has a shrewd sort of look as he answers a call, unceremoniously loud. He's stopping another meeting.
Mamaji talks to a doctor and Amrita calls her best TV news source as she buys some bottles of water and goes to the family in the viewing room.
"You cannot publish that sentence, because it was never spoken," she tells Archie.
Archi laughs. "Do you think I'm too dumb or you think you're too smart, Amrita? I have a source. From your party."
Samar's eyes snap to her the first thing as she enters the room. She continues her call. "And I have proof that your source is a greedy—" she swallows the curses on her lips as she looks at the elders. "Your source is only greedy for attention and revenge. I have proof. What do you want, a fake sentence that will create havoc or dirt on a real future candidate?"
She passes a water bottle to Prithvi and another to Chandra uncle and Indu. She gestures to them to drink and turns, starting to leave.
"How credible is your proof?" Archie asks.
She doesn't even regret ruining the poor bastard's career. "Faked government documents and a photo. Credible enough for your monthly salary to see an increment. Stop your minions with that sentence and I'll email you the proof right now."
Absently, Amrita accepts a water bottle from Prithvi. "If it's fake, why are you worried about it?" Archie asks.
Archie's question makes her pause as she stares at the bloodied cotton the doctors put in a utensil she can't name. She swipes her tongue across her canines. "Because then it'll bring your credibility into question. We don't want that, darling. Do we?"
She looks down at her hand that's holding the bottle. It's starting to squeeze the neck of the bottle too tightly. She quietly hands it back to Prithvi.
"Are you threatening me?" Archie asks, amused.
Amrita turns and starts to leave the room. "No. I'm giving you a chance of growth in your career."
"Deal."
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
When Bhanu uncle calls everyone in his room for a meeting moment, Amrita calls Dev to check on him.
"When will you be home?" He asks her.
She looks inside the room through the glass windows and sees the arrogant high of Prithvi's shoulders and the instant dropping of Chandra uncle's shoulders and the crumbling of Veerendra Bhai's posture.
"I'll try to be back as soon as possible. If nothing, I'll be there to pick you up from college tomorrow. I'll take you out for an ice cream to make up for this." She says. She can't become the same distant parent that her father is. She can't. She can't. She's not going to be an absentee in the life of her brother.
"Yes, please. Blueberry ice cream from that local stall near my college. It's awesome, we went there on Vaishali's birthday." Dev yawns loudly. "Should I go to sleep?"
Amrita smiles. "Haa, pagal. I have a copy of the keys to the house. If I'm there before morning, I'll let myself in. Good night, see you tomorrow."
"Good night and take care of yourself too."
He hangs up before she can tease him over worrying for her.
She sees a message flash on her phone as she goes to put it back in her purse.
Father: in Ioannia, Greece.
Father: don't get involved in dirty politics. Dev depends on you.
She leaves him on read.
As people file out of the room, she shares a look with Bharti aunty. People around them begin to cheer for Prithvi and seeing a moment's reprieve, Amrita goes to send in a corner, near the door of Bhanu uncle's room.
Mamaji leads a hysterical Veerendra out of the door. Amrita instantly grabs another bottle of water and follows the two of them.
"Mamaji, he always listens to you, you talk to him, please, this isn't the right decision—" Veerendra Bhai is saying.
Amrita clears her throat and he instantly straightens up. "Veerendra Bhai." She hands him the bottle of water. "Here, for you."
But he isn't looking at her. He's looking at something above her head, face set into stone. Amrita has a feeling that he's staring at Prithvi, who has yet to make his bootlickers stop cheering in a hospital.
She forcefully pushes the bottle into Veerendra's hand and goes to the crowd, clapping her hands twice to get attention. "That's enough hollering in a hospital! The situation here is precarious and the hospital has patients other than Bhanu Sir. Let's not trouble the public! Calm down!"
Prithvi gives her a questioning look but also starts to calm down the bootlickers around him.
»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»»
When they finally leave the hospital, Bharti aunty goes home with Mamaji while Samar comes with Prithvi and his crew— which, unfortunately, includes Amrita.
Amrita is relocated to sitting in the backseat with Prithvi because he insists on being difficult and stretching out and Samar despises unnecessary physical touch.
(There's some relief she feels when she realises that some things about him have stayed the same as five years ago. She knows him, even a little.)
While Samar attends a call of his own, Amrita gets a call from an unknown number, on her private phone.
"Amrita Arya." She answers the phone suspiciously. It's well past 1 am, she's not sure who could be calling her right now but she also can't just ignore the call, in case of any emergency.
The voice she hears back is familiar. "Amrita."
Amrita closes her eyes and leans back, suddenly tired of all the bullshit happening in a single day. "Mayur. I'm going to give you one minute to explain yourself before I block this cell too."
"I saw the news," he says cockily. "Your party is in shambles and I wanted to offer you a job."
Amrita waits for him to continue, but when he doesn't, she sighs dramatically. "First of all, it's not my party to look after. And secondly, I already have a job."
"This is only the beginning, Amrita," he says,"Bhanu Pratap is that tree whose roots are widespread. The tree falling down will cause ground to break."
Amrita hangs up and puts him in her blocklist.
"Who was it?" Prithvi asks, too nonchalant.
Amrita doesn't look at him as she answers. "My ex. He wanted to offer me a job opportunity since apparently our party is in danger right now."
Prithvi raises his eyebrows at the audacity but ends up chuckling. He teases her,"Which opportunity would let you have the power you do right now? Personal assistant to the party secretary of the Rashtrawadi party. You own power."
Amrita doesn't reply as she gets comfortable in her seat. She doesn't need his job to be powerful. She's got enough connections on her own. She's working here because she finds it amusing and challenging.
When they reach her home, the only light on is on the front porch, illuminating the bougainville creeper on the pillar on the porch. Amrita walks out of the car after wishing a general goodnight, not wanting to interact with Samar at all.
She's barely passes the car when she hears soft footsteps behind her. She doesn't look back and tightens her hold on her pallu, making the saree tighten around her shoulders. She knows his footsteps.
Samar is taller than her and he comes to walk beside her in two long strides. Amrita doesn't look at him.
"Thank you, for everything you did today." He says, still soft spoken. He appears shaken by the day.
Amrita feels a pang of pity for him. He's always had a sheltered life. He's never had to lose someone. Samar makes others lose himself, but he's never lost someone.
(Why would someone leave him? Her heart sings, even five years later. She wants to embrace the broken stars in his eyes.)
"I will always stand beside your family," she tells him, smiling slightly. "Don't worry about anything, everything will fall into its own place."
Samar sighs heavily as they stop at her porch. "I have a bad feeling, Amu."
The nickname makes her want to melt. She gathers herself in the moments that he looks down at his shoes vulnerably.
"We're both here. We'll make sure everything turns out well." She tells him. For the first time in five years, Amrita forwards her hand and brushes the tips of her fingers on his shoulder for a second. "Good night."
