ideas for casual low-stress art projects if you want to work on something creative during the new year

dream journal: you can either write down every single dream you have so you can look back on everything, or just write down the best ones and add little drawings or collages to embellish them

weather blanket/scarf: create a legend for which colour matches each temperature/weather and then knit one row every day so by the end of the year you have a little reminder of what the weather looked like this year

junk journal/scrapbook: collect misc things like labels/ads/stickers/receipts and make little collages with them in a book

everyone add on ideas

The other day I thrifted a Poppy doll that I intend to give some TLC and I REALLY want her to have an outfit like this one 🥺 I found out clothes made for ob11 dolls will fit her as long as the garment is made out of fabric stretchy enough to fit over her hands so I'm very excited at the possibilities

Fiber artist challenge of the day: weave in those damn ends

#art #fiber art #crochet #knitting #i actually enjoy weaving my ends in so far. it feels like that snake game #don't ask what i'm doing up so late (was crocheting and now my brain feels fuzzy)#had to switch cakes of yarn and that meant i wove in two ends just for this one small project. it was. fun :)#i like thinking about where to weave the ends in so that they're flush with the stitch itself. strategizing harder than the military rn #i watched somebody who said they never wove in their ends when they first started knitting and 😨😨😨

#rug hooking #wip #taking out some of the sparkly bits/brighter colors helped with making it feel more cohesive?#also added a weee bit of shading under the fins/black lines #because I did one sort of accidentally but liked how it looked #so added that in as well #family dog is barred from my room whenever the yarn's out because he has eaten small snippets before >:'D #and every once in a while he'll come over and give me woeful eyes from the barricaded doorway hjdjkh #-squints-#I htink doing a little material callout would be fun at some point fhkfhj #like there's a little square the unhooked material and then it's pointing to wherever it's at on the thing
