So now that we’re talking about how shitty of a person Alex is can we talk about how racist he is?

Everyone knows about the fetishization of Asian culture but no one talks about the blackface. And I’m not only holding Alex accountable but @mulberryart as well.

Everyone knows the gyarus. The badly written, super stereotypical, and lazily designed gyarus. They all have in common the bleached hair and tanned skin.

Except that out of the five, only one of them has that skin tone naturally (Kashiko/the purple one.)

Now I know what sim of y’all are gonna say “oh they’re gyarus!!! Of course they’d tan like that!” No. That was something gyarus did in the 1900s and something we black people have said is still blackface. Tannin 2 to 3 shades darker than your actual skin is whatever, but this is straight up blackface. It’s 2023, the game is set in 202X, we know better than this bs

And we can’t forget Gyaru Ayano. She goes from snow pale to my skin tone color. This is not ok.

Their skin shades should not be this far apart. I’m holding Mulberry accountable for drawing these designs and Alex for approving them. Y’all both are weird as hell for this.

I admit, when I first wrote Kokoro in my very first Yansim story some time ago, I fed into the "bully gets rehabilitated" trope. But when I think about the plans I have for Kokoro now, I realize I'll be giving her a more psychological role, and something a tad bit less storybook.

Not to say that she's going to be the mastermind for some heist or that every piece of her dialogue matters, but I think that further down the line she'll be the cause of some important events that happen to Ayano. Not anything that I'll be revealing here, of course.

On a separate note, out of all of the bullies, I feel as though Kokoro would definitely fit a "romantic gossip" bully. This is mainly due to her appearance and the aesthetic she carries, so I can't give it an exact reason.

Since romance takes up the mind of so many students in Akademi (and people in general), it's easy to learn information and get under people's skin. Or more precisely, it would be if Kokoro used the information she's learned at all.

While obviously knowing that pulling pranks and spreading gossip is the main function of the gyaru group that she's in, she can't bring herself to enjoy the act. Maybe the benefits, but she particularly hates doing the dirty work herself.

Still, she does occasionally pick on other students (anonymously) just in case Hoshiko asks about what she's "contributed" recently. I feel like Kokoro would ask Ayano to do a prank or spread gossip for her to make herself feel better.

In your au for yan sim what does kokona get made fun of for?

For my Yansim Au, it’ll be similar to her actual lore from the in-game concept. She isn’t exactly an ‘outcast’, but she’s certainly not popular.

The bullies, specifically Musume, only talk behind her back about her appearance, basically calling her rude things like ‘skank’(which isn’t her fault, she was born that way). If Ayano ever makes Kokona’s secret public, they’ll actually bully her.

Kizana, on the other hand, does it a bit differently. She tries to ignore Kokona, even when she can’t. She’ll talk about her behind her back, but won’t go out to actually bully her.

So, in short term, she would get bullied for her appearance by the Gyarus(and for her dark secret), and will just be judged by Kizana(who she finds annoying.

-Gary watches from afar as you and your group bully the students, he’s only watching because he’s trying to make sure no one bullies because that’s his job. When he sees a prefect or teacher coming by he grabs you and takes you away. “Your being to damn careless!” “Aw. So Gary does have a heart, just admit you LOVE me!” “Shut the fuck up Y/N!”

-During the times you two aren’t bullying others or each and are alone..their surprisingly peaceful. This is the love part of the relationship, Gary does like holding you since it lets him know your his. You’ll be laying against him on your phone as he holds you and watches. “He looks fucking hideous” “Oh yeah but he pays me well to pretend talk to him” “How pathetic”

-You two bound over bullying others. It’s a very fun activity for you both. -He has beaten a lot of people for you. He’s becoming more like a guard dog in this love hate relationship, he hates how you make him feel and how obsessed he is but he loves how similar you are to him. Usually after each fight he becomes much more possessive each and every time, he doesn’t like it but god does he love you(he’s very conflicted with his feelings)
