RWBY Beyond ep3 and ep4

So for ep3, yeah that was what I initially expected from this series, little random stories. But that ending? Not what I expected.

I reckon it's neo but I could see team RWBY back in there as a way to defeat Salem, using the ever after in some wild plan with portals built with the lamp and crown?

Speaking of the crown, we see in ep4 yang and ruby being the cutest things ever but we also hear about some special assignment? I reckon Oz is at it again and has his gang keeping an eye on the relic.

Loved this show, can't wait for confirmation on the buyer.

Weiss: ...

Jaune: Weiss? Are you okay? If we don't hurry, we'll be left behi-UMPH!"

Weiss grabbed Jaunes's face, giving it a hard look. Her fingers puckering his face.

Jaune: Bweiss?

Weiss nodded and softly slid her hand over Jaunes face, tapping his chin a few times.

Weiss: No. Shaving.

Jaune blinked as he watched his past crush walk away, dumbfounded. But a smile slowly rose as he rubbed his own chin.

Jaune: Yes, Ma'am.

bumblebly drabble - rwby v9

Blake’s fingers are long and delicate, most calloused where they meet the softer palm. Her nails are clean and cut short, and Yang loses herself in the feeling of the smooth keratin sliding into skin and back to fingernails. Yang’s touch is light in the dark hut, and the night birds coo outside in tandem with Jaune’s snores. Her left fingers trace patterns on Blake’s hand, as delicate as Yang can be, following tendon lines down to the knuckles and once more all the way to the tip.

"Can’t sleep?"

Yang’s fingers freeze and her eyes widen at the whispered question, gulping at being caught. Blake breathes a chuckle and interlaces their fingers. "Sorry," Yang whispers, but she doesn’t let her hand go. "Did I wake you?"

"I’ve always been a night owl, anyway." Blake snuggles closer to Yang, as if their sleeping bags hadn’t been touching. "You okay?" There’s nothing new in the worry in Blake’s voice, but the tender touch on Yang’s cheek is new, enticing, and a little scary. Yang closes her eyes at the warmth rising in her cheeks.

"Hard to sleep with the day we had," she confesses into the semi-darkness, her lips brushing Blake’s cheek. "I can’t stop thinking about you."

Blake traces Yang’s cheek and jaw, a feathery touch that makes Yang want to float, to scream, to do anything but go to sleep.

"That’s pretty standard for me," Blake says, her voice a secret. "I’m usually thinking about you every night."

Yang's cheeks flare with emotions she cannot name. "How can you say things like that so easily?"

"Because it’s the truth."

Yang rolls on her back, an undignified grunt leaving her throat. "This is not going to help me sleep."

Blake rests her head on Yang’s shoulder, finding her hand over a beating heart. "What can I do to help?"

"Stop saying you’re thinking about me every night, for starters."

"You loved that."

"I did. And I love you." Yang leans down for a chaste kiss, and Blake hums into it as their lips part.

"I love you too," she murmurs and goes for another kiss, deepening it with a pass of her tongue.

"I love you both"—Weiss’ voice cuts through the night, and both Yang and Blake stop moving—"but I will kick you out to sleep with the magical reindeer if you don’t stop right at this second."

There’s shuffling from Ruby and Weiss’ side, and Yang purses her lips. "Sorry," she says, and Weiss responds with,

"If I hear kissing again, I’m kicking you out."

Blake’s ears twitch as Yang pulls her closer, their legs bumping. "Do you really think she would—"

"Yes," Blake answers before Yang can try for another kiss. "But I’m still here. Like I promised."

Yang lifts Blake’s hand to her lips and leaves a kiss there. "I know."

"Good night, Yang."

"Good night, Blake.” After a beat, Yang adds, “Good night, Weiss.” 

"For the gods, just shut up, you two."

Jaune: “So when I was a little kid, my second older sister became really addicted to oxytocin. She went from getting A’s to D’s and she looked horrible all the time, but mom and dad just thought that she was under a lot of stress and that the classes were just harder than she originally thought. But her habits ended up getting worse and worse, to the point that she was spending all of her savings and whatever pitiful amount she could get her hands on to support her habit. One day while everyone was out of the house, she grabbed me by the hand and said we were going on a “Field Trip.” I didn’t question it, I was a kid and I had thought that she had come back to her old self even though she looked like absolute hell.”

“So, we ended up taking a bullhead into Vale and went to what I still consider to this very day to be the shadiest looking apartment building, up several flights of stairs to the third floor and she knocks on the door. After a moment, the door opens up and she ushers me inside we’re a I see a really messy room attended by two guys: A super jacked up Tiger Faunus and a scrawny looking human guy. the human guy has a bag in his hand and he askes her with a dubious look “So, how you gonna pay for it this time?”

She immediately responds “I’m paying with him.”

“Him,” being me. That’s right, my sister tried to sell me to the what I now realize were her dealers in exchange for more Oxy. The silence that followed after was deafening and both her dealers could only stare at her in complete disbelief. Angered at their hesitance, she asks them “Don’t you assholes do trafficking or some shit like that? I’ll just tell my parents that he was kidnapped, just give me the damn oxy!”

Another awkward pause of silence as the dealers both share a wary glance at each other, before the Tiger Faunus mutters “It’s a deal” as the human tosses her the bag and she hightails it out of that shithole slamming the door behind her and not even giving me a second look. The tiger Faunus shakes his head muttering about how my sister was a “Crazy Bitch,” before looking down at me with an apologetic look.

“Listen, I’m really sorry about this kid.” He said as he pulled out his scroll, “Here, give me your home phone and I’ll have your parents pick you up. Were do you live anyways?”

I hesitantly tell them that I live in Ansel, causing them to both give me shocked look before the scrawny guy all but shouts “She dragged you on a two hour bullhead ride for this? For fucks sakes, I told you we should’ve stopped dealing to her the moment she started paying us in bags of quarters!”

The two dealers bickered with one another for moment, before the Tiger Faunus called up my mom and the Scrawny guys was kind enough to lend me his DS with Mario on it to pass the time. My parents come and grab me and man I thought they were going to grease the dealers then and there but they let them slide after putting the fear of brothers into the two of them and then took me home. They, quite obviously, learned of what my sister had done from me and the sheer unbridled rage from my mom and the absolute ice cold vitriol my dad expressed to my sister was something I’ll always remember to this day and they pretty much gave her two options: go to rehab and get cleaned up, or not only get kicked out of our home but to have her name banished off the Arc family name to forever be an exile and pariah of the Arc family for the rest of her miserable days in abject shame.

She chose to go to rehab, kicked her drug habit, and managed to get sober after two years and has remained sober since. My parents bought me Pokemon Black and Chrono Trigger for what I went through as compensation.”

Jaune took a drink of his water, a little parched from his rather long story only to take note of the horrified slack jawed looks of both his team and team RWBY. Both Pyrrha and Ruby had tears in their eyes and he swore he heard Weiss muttering under her breath something about “mistreating him to much,” whatever that meant. The awkward silence was broken when Yang, who Jaune had noticed her eyes were red and also a little teary eyed, finally broke the silence.”

Yang: “...Jaune?”

Jaune: “Yes Yang?”

Yang: “...What in the actual fuck?”

Jaune: “Oh you think that was bad? That pales in comparison to this one time-”

I’m gonna come out and say it. Bumbleby is a last minute ship pulled straight outta RT ass. Don’t get me wrong it’s a cute ship and it like their dynamic. But I just feel like they shouldn’t be together. Maybe I’m a sour freezerburn shipper whatever, but you can’t tell me Weiss and Yang don’t have more growth then Blake and Yang…I’m willing to discuss pls be respectful.

Would love to see a moment of Ruby and Yang just crying together and getting out years of pent up grief. Ruby's words about no one being there for her heavily mirror Yang's back in volume 5, when she talked about being alone and having to pick up the pieces of their shattered family alone.

All this time both of them have felt like they needed to take care of and protect the other. They've never gotten to openly express the grief or anger they feel at Summer's loss.

Ruby's got a long road to walk but would love for this to be one of the steps.

Lets Briefly Talk About: RWBY V9 Ep 9

Yo we really just focused on Jaune for the first half of the episode like Yang wasn’t the more important piece here. I really DO want to focus on the moment and fully enjoy it but—fucking hell it feels like whiplash with how the last one ended.

Like am i the only one who feels this way? I feel like we should have focused more on Yang so THESE moment could feel more impactful?

Look, the episode felt pretty rushed and that 15 min runtime is not doing it any favors.
