You were . . . Well, you were the one he had fallen for.

Back at Dawn Island.

Ace had just left, so he was alone. Luffy spent his free time training, but it was boring to do it alone. Some days later, Luffy mentioned his problems to Makino. "There's a girl that just moved into the village. Maybe you could try to be with her?"

Your pov:

"What did I do?" You asked, looking at the man in a straw hat. He had been following you the whole day. "Nothing." He answered shortly and then jumped down from the ceiling he sat on. "My name is Monkey D. Luffy! Nice to meet ya." He said, smiling. "Oh, I'm N/n." You answered, shaking his hand.

You and Luffy became great friends. You pretty much spent three years with him. Most of the time, you two were up at the mountain, but other times, you two vibed at the village or the trash place.

"Y/n, do you want to join my crew?!" Luffy asked in his loud cheery voice. "No. . . . ." You answered, dragging out the o. "What! Why???" "I uh, well, um, I don't like the idea of traveling." Luffy felt his heart sink. "And I want a house that I can call my home." "Ah, that's understandable, I guess. See you tomorrow." Luffy said, waving goodbye.

"I need a big ship so I can fit her stupid house on it," Luffy muttered, kicking a rock as he walked up the mountain. He didn't know why, but he felt weird when it came to you. You were honestly at this point trespassing his mind. You appeared too much!!! But he liked the feeling that came with it.

Luffy felt heavy. He wanted to cry, but he was not a crybaby. Instead of going back to Dadan, he climbed a tree and sat with his knees on his chest. Thinking back, he remembered a man that he had met once. He was crying and had been in deep pain.

"Hey, why are you crying?" Luffy had asked. "The woman I love rejected me . . ." Luffy had said that he needed to explain further since he didn't know what that was. In his misery, he explained love and the pain of being rejected by it.

Had, had you rejected him??? Why. . . . . Did you not love him? Was he maybe too weak for you? "I need to train more," Luffy mumbled.

Y/n pov:

Sorry Luf, but I have other plans and goals.

The day came, and you waved goodbye to Luffy. You watched as he went away. He had never asked you to join him again. And it pained you a little, but alas. Walking away from the port, you started your secret training session. You had trained for years and knew haki. "Well, I guess it's time for me to start my search. Future home island, here I come!!! To the grand line!!!" You cheered as you walked onboard your loyal ship.

"I laid low, long enough. . . . Let's meet again, Luf."

Luffy pov:

Y/n when I meet you again, I will, most likely be pirate king. But then you can't reject me, and we will be married and then engaged.

"I just need to figure out what marriage and engaged mean. . ."

The book stayed on her mind for the next few days. Everywhere she went, it felt like someone was watching her. Y/n found herself rereading the letter and the book whenever she was free. She went over every page and squinted to see if she could find a hint of something more. Her mind kept wandering to the possibility of a connection between Open Your Mind, whoever N.R was, and her journey. 

From the characters to the feeling of fate, the world-building was all familiar but new. She wanted to believe it was just her imagination, but there was a lingering thought of ‘what if’.

What if the author of this silly little book had experienced the same things she did? As she lay in bed, looking at the ceiling, the letters from Law she reread for the nth of times on her nightstand, she began feeling a sliver of excitement.

The letters had been so cryptic, yet so hopeful. The steps she needed to open the portal were clear enough but from the letter from ‘L’ she believed there to be something more to the story. There must be something she was missing. 

The instructions had said she needed to wait for a “month of stabilizing” before attempting to open the portal, the truth was, the thought of really meeting Law again, seeing them all again, filled her with an intoxicating mixture of excitement and fear.

She let out an angry huff at herself there was nothing truly to be excited about, especially when there was a letter from a random ‘L’. The random letter could have been from Luffy and the crew, but, thinking of that world that she once knew, when everything was still shiny, new, and exciting her heart couldn’t help but skip a beat.

She sat up from her bed quickly heading to the kitchen huffing and puffing like a 1940s cartoon character. She’d moved on, hadn’t she? She had a whole new life now—-closer than ever to family and friends—-but how could one forever truly forget the magic of that world?

That feeling of belonging, the constant adventure without the worry of assignments, money, etcetera. The strawhats were her fantasy that jumped off the page and Law jumped right into her heart. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the teapot boiling.

She hummed pouring the water into her cup anticipating the camomille to calm down her brain. With the cup in her hand, she quietly padded through the hall back to her room to see her phone dimly lit up. 

A text.

Have you started?

Her heart skipped a beat. She glanced at the calendar—April was nearly halfway through. “ Shit.” She whispered. Time was ticking faster than expected she needed to get moving. But where would she begin?

How could she be 100% sure that the portal would work? What happens if Law isn’t on the other side? She felt overwhelmed and quickly sipped the tea to calm herself. “Thank god for camomille,”

She briskly typed back:

I need a little bit more time but I’m working on it.

Don’t Worry.

The warm tea soothed her nerves as she began writing down her plans for the next week when she realized she had no idea who the text was from. She sighed and rubbed her eyes, the weight of the decision hanging heavy on her chest.

There were too many unknowns for this not to be too good to be true. The number of unforeseen variables was enough to send her right to bed that night, leaving her teacup half full. 

She dreamt of them. The smell of the sea air, the wind flowing through her and Nami’s hair as they picked tangerines, the chaos that raved through the boat. Although brief, that world had been hers too, The strawhats scared the shit out of her but the bliss of that dream had fully made up her mind before she was even lucid. 

Y/n was returning to the world of OnePiece to finish what she started.

The last few weeks of April and the early days of March were filled with study sessions, late-night preparations, and endless questions that made the back of her throat itch. Y/n made sure to follow every step diligently: no electronics at night, keep the curtains open during the day, and ensure that the mirror stays spotless.

But the anxiety never truly left her, no matter what tea she drank or what she did to distract her restless mind. 

Despite the lingering doubts, she knew it was only a matter of time before the portal opened. One night after the other, when she knew her mother was asleep and the house was quiet, she stood in front of the mirror.

Making sure it was pristine and hoping to find out which ‘L’ was waiting for her on the other side. Her fingers hesitated to brush against the glass, and for a second, she wondered if this was all a dream and she would wake up in a psych ward. 

On Thursday, March 7th, she felt the hum of power in the air. The little hairs on her neck stood tall and the moon was full shining through her window. She bit her lip till it almost bled and closed her eyes, just as instructed, visualizing the portal opening.

The seconds dragged on, each one stretching over what felt like the course of a thousand years. She opened her eyes and saw…nothing. Her reflection was the same as it always has been. 

But just as she was about to give up, there was a flash of light, and the mirror flickered like an old television screen. Y/n gasped as the image distorted, and for the briefest of moments, she thought she saw something—or someone—on the other side.

A face.

Trafalgar Law.

Her heart raced, her palms clammy with anticipation. She reached out, hand trembling as she touched the mirror once more. The surface felt different now, softer, warmer. There was a crackle of energy, and she heard a faint voice.

“You did it.”

It was Law's voice, unmistakable. Her breath caught in her throat as she took a step forward.

You smiled at the man in front of you. He had always been there. He had always been kind, and now the two of you had been dating for three months. "Look at the guy over there he eats like a monster." Your boyfriend stated, pointing at a shirtless man sitting at the table next to yours.

Ace heard the mans complaint and ignored it. I don't care. He simply thought, but the word monster might have hit a nerve. "Babe, he's not a monster. Just a hungry human, let him eat alone." You said calmly. Ace listened to your conversation while eating.  "You're right, sorry for my behavior. But he's loud, and he causes ruckus every time he falls asleep." You're dear commented.

"Please, Honey, it's already been cleared that he has narcolepsy. That's something he can't help, so don't be rude about it." You answered with a smile. Yup, Ace has decided to like you, such a nice person. He thought. It was weird cause the two of you kept talking about him, you're guy said something mean, and you protected him.

So, being the curious guy he was, he changed direction to the waiter and ordered more food. Though since he had turned around, he knew that the two of you could see his Whitebeard tattoo. "Ah! Look, Sweetie,he's a pirate!" Your boyfriend yelled whispered, making it hard for Ace to hear. But since his focus was on you two, he didn't miss a word. "Ga, we need to get out of here." Your dude added.

"Please, dear, he hasn't caused any more trouble than falling asleep. Don't panic." You cleared as you ate of your tasty food. "But he's a pirate and a Whitebeard one at that!" He panicked. "And? Both you and I have seen how polite he is with the waiter. I believe he's a nice guy." You smiled. "But." Your boyfriend began. "Oh, please, people like that don't kill for no reason. We're safe." You interrupted.

The lunch went on smoothly after that. And other conversations came between you and your man. Ace was still listening, though. "Honey, I love you very much. But are you sure about us? I mean, I'm from a poor family, and my father is a janitor. You're a rich noble, and your father is a respected man." Your boyfriend asked. It was quite often he complained about others. But you knew it was because he was an insecure, scared man.

"You could be Gold Roger's son, and my love for you still wouldn't change." That sentence made Ace choke on his food. Fuck what was this feeling?

Being a shared darling between these two has it’s good moments and it’s bad ones depending on what kind of darling you are. They don’t try to change you or shape you into the perfect darling because they love you for you and the little feistiness you have, it makes things a bit fun. Not for you though because they take it as you needing more attention so you’re throwing a fit when it’s actually the opposite; you wanting your freedom and to get the hell away from them.

The two of them bicker alot about who’s turn it is to spend private time with you and who gets to do what and who you should give your attention to. They both feen for your touch and get moody when the other is “hogging” you and since they’re both hot heads, things escalate quickly and it’s you who has to break it up.

Sabo is the one who does the punishments because Ace feels too bad after hurting you that he goes into his self hate moods and if he gets too mad about what you did, he’ll burn you with his df and it’ll take Sabo dragging him out of the room to stop him. So having Sabo do it is more logical but he isn’t afraid to use his pipe or his dragon claw on you and not in a sexy way. They usually play good cop and bad cop to get information and to decide what to do; Ace is good cop and Sabo is bad cop.

Having Stockholm syndrome is like the best thing that could happen for all of you. Ace will eat it up immediately while Sabo will be wary but once confirmed, you’ll forget that they’re even holding you captive. They’ll let you out eventually and allow you to roam around the little cottage they’ve locked you in and if you’re really good, you’ll be able to go outside with them.

They look forward to coming back home from whatever they day had instore for them just to see you running into their arms, telling them how much you missed and love them. All of you sitting down at the table eating the dinner you’ve made them and talking about their day and yours. While that may be nice and what they want, they can get bored of consistency besides Ace needs excitement so sometimes they’ll make you mess up just so they can punish you. It might not be a hardcore punishment but it’ll make you beg for them not to do it and how it was an accident. They love when you beg so if you do it too much, they’ll keep making you mess up.

Okay. Law as a yandere is a very dangerous concept, especially if its in the OP au.

He has a devil fruit power that creates a dome in which he controls everything, running from him is absolutely no option.

Towards his partner, Law is going to actually be quite sweet. Loving. Clingy in a nice way. No one would be able to tell anything was up with him.

He'd be like, "what are you going to do today, darling?" And, "who are going to be with, my love?" If anyone ever questioned him on why he monitors where they are and who they're with, he'd simply say it's his responsibility as a Captain and your lover to look out for your safety. And knowing who you're with can alleviate his worry of you being defenceless if theres an attack.

Eventually, though. Things will get worse. It'll come down to Bepo being the only person he can stand you being with without twisting possessiveness growing inside him.

If you go off with another crew member, and he finds out, things will get nasty.

He'll pull them to one side. Take them to the operation theatre and threaten them point blank.

"If you so much as look at (....)-ya again, you'll be strapped to the cot and forced to watch as your entrails become your outrails, am I clear?"

He's honestly a manipulative, psychological yandere. When you start noticing your crewmates distancing themselves and avoiding you, you'll go to Law, downtrodden.

He'll hug you and shush you. Tell you it's alright. You have him. And Bepo. They're the only ones you'll need. Only ones you'll ever need. And that no one can love and look after you like he can.
