He would be heartbroken at that moment but after falling deeper into his delusion will think there is something wrong and will try to fix it. (Whether there is a real preamble or not.)

As cozy and romantic as possible, like an outing that has that romantic feel to it.

Aside from Yui Rio the Rainbow 9 in 1989 actually do kind of suit the “temporary tasks” given to them, perhaps even Banri (Kaguya’s suitor) can keep the “give me a rose for the girl I like” task because it suits him being a hopeless romantic

But I understand wanting to give these iconic characters (not including Banri obviously) special treatment because they are beloved by the fandom so they most likely will have their special and unique tasks first priority on the “task priority” list

Ignorance is bliss

Imagine being reincarnated into a world filled with yanderes. Being a yandere or their beloved is the norm. Murder, drugs, aphrodisiacs - all are legal in the name of love.

But then you go ahead and get sent there. You're forced to play the role of the beloved. Being showered with more affection and attention than what you needed or could take.

It was fucking tiresome.

There's a catch in the story. You're not the naive or innocent lamb that the yanderes think you are. Infact, you used to be a serial killer in your past life. Being a beloved was boring for you. A killer like you being reduced to act all scared and sacred.

To make things worse, you even had a lover in your past life! You just couldn't stop wondering whether your love died or left your shared home. Is he mourning over your loss?Did he know you died?Did he starve to death?Did the loneliness get to him?Did he realise just how much of a great partner you were?

Oh who were you kidding?He would've laughed at your miserable end.He probably starved to death. Afterall you two were the only ones in that house. The doors were locked. Sharp objects avoided. Cameras installed. And much more for the safety of your sweetheart!

So when you find someone who looks just like your sweetheart, ofcourse you had to find out more!So when he looks up at you with his adorable eyes tearing up , you knew he was yours.Even better,when you realise he was your lover from your past life! Poor him! How tragic it must've been to starve to death!

You again try to be with your love. The only problem is the other pests hogging over you. Your love was assigned as a yandere! Who was the system kidding? He's a poor baby who can't do anything without you. You made sure of it.So slowly but surely you get rid of your yanderes and his beloved. Daniel made a nice dinner and haruki was great for soup!You had nice meals for a while.

After all that.....mess, you go live with your love peacefully. But why does it feel like something or someone's missing? Oh! Right. What happened to Akio? You don't remember getting rid of him.

Memory was never your strong suite. But why does it feel like it worsened? Especially after meeting your love. But your love seems weirdly glad to be with you again so who are you to bother with such trivialities? So you happily ignore the smile that you feel creeping upon his face during a hug. Afterall , ignorance is a bliss.

❧Hinata

At first, she felt bad for entertaining the idea of being with you. Staying out late to have a nice dinner with you, going back to your place, and having accidental kisses, but the guilt left when she realized it was different. When she was with Takemichi she felt as if she had to keep him entertained out of fear of him cheating, but you made it clear that she was all you wanted. She didn't want to forget the feeling so she went with the obvious choice.

❧Kisaki

After the truck incident, he no longer chased Hinata, but he wondered if she would’ve accepted him if he used your tactics. You found the sweetest ways to say you loved him, telling and showing him so much he started to soften. Seeing you go to great lengths to satisfy him as he would for you if he loved you, and soon he does. He tried to force love on someone, and he suffered. There was no harm in seeing where the two of you could go if he gave into you.

❧Haruki

He goes along with it since he doesn't see the harm in your actions and treats you like his partner once you confess your love. The problem comes when he sees how you're interacting with Peh; it’s almost like you hate him coming around. When he finds out you want him to yourself, he thinks you're insecure. The misunderstanding has him telling you, and anyone that’ll listen, he's not going anywhere. He begins to gift you things excessively and invites you everywhere with him. Even though he doesn’t get the message, it‘s enough to ease your worries about losing him.

❧Ryohei

He asks why you abducted him and groan as you explain yourself. It was childish. How could you love a stranger so easily? If you’ve been watching him, you’d know how dangerous it was. He’ll accept your kindness but correct you when you cross a boundary. Your house was nice, but not enough to make him give in instantly. Even though he's at a disadvantage he wants you to earn his love. Until he's convinced you're worth loving, worth throwing away his life for, he stops at nothing to get away.

❧Emma

She's scared to leave the room. The stories of being taken by wealthy people are nice to read, but they're fake. In the real world, she could die. You could kill her and leave her family searching for her remains. The fear of being useless brings her out of the room. She thought you’d be harsh, but after spending time with you, she couldn't see you being violent. You were soft and gentle around her and rarely raised your voice at her. She told herself she was playing the long game, but she was far too attached to see the trap anymore.

I was curious about Murakami’s work due to his popularity. I liked his writing style in Document 1, but I couldn’t properly appreciate the story bc of the male-gazey parts.

♡ The Hand of the Enemy by Kerima Polotan

Polotan’s writing style is *chef’s kiss.* I think she did a good job at explaining “the political is personal” through her characters.

♡ The Call of Cthulhu by H.P. Lovecraft

I’m not personally into Lovecraft’s writing style so I think I’ll stick to the summaries. It was nice to learn more about cosmic horror through the source material.

♡ Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf

The book isn’t my type, so I have no comments.

♡ Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu

There are so many quotes which made me squeal as a yandere writer, and I can always appreciate a wlw vampire story. It inspired me to write for Yandere! Vampire Pantalone ( ´ཀ` )

♡ Heartless by Marissa Meyer

I love the whimsical writing style and Alice in Wonderland references. The food descriptions are so wonderfully written.

♡ Love and Olives by Jenna Evans Welch

My new favorite book by the author. Generally, I love how she writes about family, romance, and tourism. It helps that this specific story has connections to Greek mythology ✧˖°

♡ Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen

A good satirical take on Gothic novels!! It was easy for me to fall in love with Austen’s writing and the character of Henry Tilney.

♡ Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery

I don’t plan to read the sequels, but I did enjoy Anne’s sense of imagination.

♡ The Turn of the Screw by Henry James

This book isn’t my type so I don’t have much to say about it ^^;

♡ Spells for Lost Things by Jenna Evans Welch

Another wonderful story by the author. I love the magic and mystery in it.

After falling in love with Rebecca, I had to check this out and now the author’s other works are in my next reading list. Simply put, I adored this.

I read this out of nostalgia for the series and was utterly disappointed. It lacks many of the traits which made the other Creepover books so enjoyable to my younger self -.-

The horror and aesthetics is so artfully written, and Silas is an excellent example of an utterly despicable antagonist. I couldn’t stop reading until I reached the end.

♡ Circus of Wonders by Elizabeth Macneal

The freakshow/ circus setting offers a different morbid aesthetic. I can’t wait to read Macneal’s future works >:3

♡ You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao

A good story about grief. It has a brilliant detail about how Sam’s calls affect the heroine’s communication with other people. I do think the story would’ve been better if it were longer.

♡ And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

An excellent murder mystery which made me go “?!! :0” when the culprit was revealed.

♡ Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao

I subscribed to the author’s YouTube channel, so I was naturally curious about this. I liked the mecha concept and historical references, but I have to agree with some of the negative reviews. The fact that I’m not into scifi also influenced my capacity to enjoy this book.

Again, I can’t say much about this book since I’m not into scifi + I’m not the target audience. I will say that I liked it more than Iron Widow due to the historical trivia, contemporary setting, and creative premise.

cell of empireo routes EDCB and S+, dlc spoilers (fyi, stuff from a part of the dlc that isn't translated yet, nothing super major though)

just an informal post from me. gets a little embarrassing too. gushing about things is a little painful when you are full of love.

but basically, like, i think there exists to be an argument (hypothetical? idk i don't hang out with any fans) that shinarei could fall into pair the spares territory... which is certainly untrue. i just do not think that it has no basis. it's not particularly deep or anything but i do think it is a fits like a glove situ. anyway, at least i'm not the one pairing up family members. (charged statement? tbh not really, my opinion would not change regardless of whether or not an alternative exists... i just do not fw step-whatever ships and i view them as incest. it is my own preference.)

on the relationship between shinano and atou in coe

since the game kind of flip flops on when the rakusou park rabies case happened (though the second half of the game seems to consistently date it around march 2015 so i'll begrudgingly consider that despite it being a very small timeframe), i think that regardless of how long shinano was under atou's care, it is an important relationship in the long run with respects to this post. while shinano was heavily influenced by origin beta seeking origin alpha out it IS a huge point for shinano that one cannot seperate their old and current and future selves so easily so, even as an existence that straddled the line between origin beta and shinano, i think shinano->atou is a highly valid interpretation. i think tina's instinct "to protect", pochi's instinct "to seek out the origin" and shinano's instinct of "atou-san, atou-san" getting all muddled up created some kind of insane peak yandere. i think the main point here is that for most of the game— reiji had gone off so is missing for a good chunk of the game, shinano is present until chapter 5 then disappears, so the two essentially have no real knowledge of each other. atou tells shinano about reiji in the past tense. he tells reiji about shinano being missing in action but there isn't really the gravity in the current situation to elaborate (ironically because origin beta is still running around). also i think it's really funny that atou immediately discounts that shinano could be beta when ibuki brings it up... anyway this is all preamble really.

starting off on the wrong, no, perhaps the worst foot (paw?) possible

so reiji goes yeah imma kidnap you, atou haruki, and be done with it. honestly, who knows how the plot could have gone if shinano had not appeared in this moment... really, whether it was beta pulling him towards alpha or shinano just happened to come across them at the worst moment, it's still an amazing fucking scene. like, one may wring their hands over whether or not this is yandere, but people have called other characters yandere over literal nothing. SO WHATEVER. my post my interpretation. honestly, it's really fucking good. the way shinano is laser focused on atou, atou-san come here, atou-san, atou-san while reiji is on the other side making quips in lieu of atou who is on shock, it's a tense scene that i can't criticize at all really. SHINANO MY GOAT!!!! literally my favorite line in the entire game btw:

at this point shinano and reiji could not be more diametrically opposed in terms of goal, reiji's being to retrieve atou for sanemitsu and shinano's being an open ended one of "protecting", and who knows how that could even end when at least half of the instinct is coming from what is essentially stem cell rabies and chronic dog brain. it doesn't help they lack context on said stances... in S, this is the end of their adversarial relationship, but if you miss enough flags you basically guarantee that reiji is getting killed by shinano. i think this is actually a really important aspect of shinarei. because..... i really like all the cannibalism fanart... shinano is cute so if he wants to take a chunk out of reiji he is free to do so. i don't have to argue about how cannibalism is inherently homoerotic. IT'S NOT JUST ME! if you see any artists on twitter who dabble in this shit they have definitely drawn it at least once. really, it's becoming rare to have an excuse to draw something like this without going full AU, so fukao... thank you. shinarei is mostly a diabetes ship, but the fact that there is also this macabre side to it is part of the appeal imo. also fulfills the game's "earn your happy ending" element. it's so good~~~~

shinano and reiji are impossibly dorky "but somehow it doesn't cross into otaku cringe" -known shinano fan who excuses anything he says (not me lol why would you think this)

at the time of the dlc, in summer of 2018— its "shinano-shi"!!

how INCREDIBLY dorky!!! i almost didn't pick up on it. you first see it when sanemitsu picks up a note from reiji about atou and shinano visiting— for some reason i assumed it was the formal usage, which was pretty dumb of me to be honest, i genuinely questioned why it'd be like that after three years before i realized it wasn't a stuffy "-shi" but more like how otakus address each other with the nuance of "comrade". to be honest, i've seen the examples of otaku using "-dono" way more often so i didn't realize right away. it's cute not only because it follows the thoroughline of "since S+, shinano and reiji have continued to get along" but also because i feel like this kind of otaku slang has LONG fallen out of favor, it is a stereotype among stereotypes, but reiji is not a normal person at all and i would not be surprised if he just heard it somewhere and picked it up on a whim. i mean, when your dad writes in occult magazines he is probably bumping elbows with some very strange people.

there's not much to discuss in terms of reiji engaging with shinano's hobbies and actively getting into ditasword, but it is cute, cute cute cute. sickeningly cute. how cute can it get?!?!!! this cute:

there's like, a good 4, 5 year age difference?

i guess one thing there would be hand wringing over is the age difference— usually depending on the context, how things shake out is based on your own interpretation... though i think between adults it's kinda "who cares" for me. at any rate, it's not like they're breaching into a relationship right off the bat, imo there is a strong preference for onesided reiji->shinano on my end and there's a good three years until the dlc/interlude/com deadline. just straight up having a massive crush but not being sure of what it means. i like how sanemitsu said that it's nice that reiji made a friend his age after so long, atou is like "he's not though", but they shrug it off and go "well shinano's childish anyway". though i think there is a certain coolness factor in shinano that reiji sees that the others don't see!!!! do you understand!!!! also how is it any different from the classic "crushing on an older girl"!!!!! anyway, shinano's happy to have someone he can talk to about his hobbies aside from akane. anyway 25 vs 29 is a pretty nice diff actually. its kinda who cares.

on the contrast

for all intents on purposes despite being a private detective and getting wrapped up with empyrean, of all of rakuen, i think shinano has the strongest image of a civilian. perhaps even among the entire cast in coe. reiji... is very much not a civilian!!! he lives with mercs and does insane paranormal investigations as a lifestyle!!! there is nothing civilian or normal about that...!!! i think the gap in daily life is very good, and despite everything shinano's suspension of disbelief is probably top tier. he will fit in right away if reiji introduced him to LDL. theodore on suicide watch

I finished Mashiro Kanoe’s route in Folie Fatale recently, and just wanted to write down a few thoughts into the internet void. This is a route and character analysis. For preface, he was my first route, this post contains spoilers, and heavy trigger warning for dark topics (in hashtags).

Here are my thoughts on Mashiro Kanoe.

When I first saw his description as the ‘kouhai, genius, self harmer’, I was expecting someone more like Azusa Mukami (DiaLovers) But Kanoe was surprisingly tsun! It makes sense why he is tsun and comes across as mean/apathetic. If he has no siblings or friends, a neglectful mother, and gets bullied at school, most of his interactions are going to be negative. I was curious as to why he so adamantly denies being bullied. I think this is because he is so deprived of interaction, that he doesn’t want to limit this into just ‘bullying��, as that label would dismiss the social interaction aspect. As evidenced by his endings (he stops self-harming because he doesn’t want a weak body, or he goes ballistic over being pitied), he clearly is also prideful. He views being bullied as pathetic, and something that makes him a victim, a label that he hates. Also, it could be alike to how his self-harm developed. He grew into masochism as a result of his self harm, so he probably finds it easier to deal with cruelty. Though, I don’t think he enjoys the cruelty, like a stereotypical ‘masochist’. I think he is only a masochist when it comes to physical sensations. I also think he is a sadist which I will touch on later.

I also think that his relationship with his peers is interesting. We don’t see much interaction with his classmates, other than the one bullying scene where they pretty much just call him a weird loser. Natsuki is his senpai, so above him in the hierarchy, and she also stands up to his bullies, so is not influenced by his peers that look down on him. This creates a degree of separation between him and Natsuki, which I think was what allowed their relationship to flourish. I was curious as to why he actually gets bullied. Because of his tsun/kuu nature, he acts in a way that people his age probably find ‘cool’. Because of the advertising of the game being ‘yandere men who go crazy for you’, and Kanoe being listed as 5/5 on the Radical measure on the official website, I was surprised by how easy he was to talk to. His route felt wholesome, even. He is weird, sure (Like when he said he told his mother that he is glad she neglected him, because it led to his self harm which he gets off on^? gets pleasure from.) but I think this is because of the degree of separation, him deeming Natsuki a nice person, and also her being his favourite person. I doubt he is saying things like that to his bullies/random classmates. His relationship to Natsuki’s senpais (Ren, Haruki, etc) is also interesting. He is seen to get very jealous of them. I think this is also because of the degree of separation. He feels like her classmates/senpais are closer to her because of their more shared context. And after he finally found his one friendship, this makes him feel like an outsider again. Also, his pride makes him hate being inferior. Because her senpais are above him in the hierarchy, this makes him feel pitiful and also threatens his masculinity. Which he wants to maintain, especially in his relationship with Natsuki.

Throughout his route, there was a question lurking in my mind; ‘Does he get sexual pleasure from blood/pain?’. It’s never properly addressed, but he says several things that could lead to the conclusion that he does. I wanted to explore that a little bit further. It is stated that he developed his self-harming habit as a way to calm himself down. When he feels his emotions overwhelming him, which he claims happens often and uncontrollably, seeing blood leak from him is soothing. This probably stems from his lack of control. He doesn’t have a reliable mother, which has a knock on effect of making his meals unpredictable, his house a mess, and he has no one to advocate for him. The self harm leads to emotional control, which is the only control he can have. This is understandable. However, he also claims several times that he gets pleasure from self harming. It is difficult to say whether or not he is conflating pleasure with relief. Let’s look at the scene of his first CG. As we discover him cutting himself, he doesn’t seem visibly in pleasure. Rather, he seems to be very emotionally fragile in this moment. He is anxious that Natsuki likes other people more than himself, and he even seems to feel a little bit guilty that he is making her witness it. His line ‘I did already tell you I cut myself, so you shouldn’t be surprised’ comes across to me as recognising the distress that she is experiencing, and reassuring her that it is nothing to worry about. His Unease ending also has a CG which shows wounds on his lower abdomen and wrists. He doesn’t look to be in pleasure at this moment. The position of the cuts is strange however, why are there some right above his groin? This could be because that’s where he thinks will cause the most damage, or possible sexual pleasure, but that seems unlikely. It was just an interesting artistic decision that I wanted to flag up briefly.

His character design can also give us a few hints that may help answer my question. His casual outfit, which he wears on their date, has his blood type written on his jacket, there are blood-filled syringes, and an ocean of blood (not real hopefully) towards the bottom. This definitely shows that he, to some extent, worships/idolises blood. His bloodbag earrings, which he also wears to school, show blood is, for him, a positive (A Positive, if you will). The way he discusses his self harm is also abnormal. It is almost like he is bragging about it. He also has this slightly braggadocios tone when talking about other sad things in his life such as his absent father. This seems strange, as he hates being pitied. But if he talks about it as if it were a point of pride, it becomes a point of pride. In his mind, it gives him ‘cool points’. What I don’t think he understands is how this instead leads to people pitying him. Circling back to the blood topic, I think he idolises blood because of the control and relief/pleasure it gives him. Since he has no other people, he instead worships objects. This is evidenced by his Remission (good) Ending, where he gives up self harm now that he has Natsuki by his side. However, in that ending, he also takes her to a blood donation centre? He also spoke of it as ‘the place where we can feel good’, which lead me (and Natsuki) to believe they were going to a love hotel.

The Insanity Ending can also tell us about his relationship with pain. Why I said he is a sadist earlier, is because of how he treats Natsuki here. It is important to note that this is the Insanity ending for a reason, and his actions may not reflect his character in this moment. It depends on whether you think his actions are a reflection of his inner desires, or not. In this CG, he has made several cuts into Natsuki’s body, enough for her bleeding to make the bath water opaque with red. Whereas, Kanoe himself is (visibly) unharmed. This could be because he is punishing Natsuki for pitying him. However, because of his idolisation with blood, he could also have been trying to share his own pleasure with her. Another possibility is that he enjoyed hurting her, just as he enjoys hurting himself. This would make him a sadist. But is this sadism sexual in nature? In the CG, she is naked and unconscious. He is also naked and pressing her body against his own. This is sexual assault. Even if he didn’t intend for it, it is definitively sexual assault. It is unclear what he did to her body whilst she was unconscious, but we know he at least stripped her, and cut her with a knife. It is not definitive, but it is also possible that he raped her. That is what I think is being implied by this scene. I think this shows some element of sexual sadism. This is backed up by the instances strangulation and murder, where he is seen smiling.

It is difficult to answer my question ‘Does he get sexual pleasure from blood/pain?’. Whilst writing my analysis, my opinion shifted somewhat. I now think that he does not get sexual pleasure from it. However, it is complicated. I think his emotional state is very messy, which is clear from his description of overwhelming emotions. I think the line between pleasure and relief is highly blurred for him. Though it is possible that it shifted more into pleasure overtime, I think it is more likely that he is trying to convince himself he receives pleasure, as relief is a less positive emotion. He also thinks that he cannot experience happiness or unhappiness, which is clearly untrue. This evidences that his descriptions of emotions may not be entirely accurate.

Another thing in his route that I wanted to talk about is his trait of being a genius. I do not think that it is written well. However, I do understand that Folie Fatale is a short, indie game, so there was not much time in his route to explore this trait. The only mentions of his intelligence is in reference to his app, or his good grades. The app is very important to him, and it is very impressive that this 15 year old can code, however, does that make him a genius? He is definitely talented, but it is not really shown why he is a genius. Because of his official character description of ‘天才x自傷癖’ (genius and self-harm habit), I expected his intelligence to play more of a role in his character and route. His high grades are also impressive, but I think it would have been better if they weren’t just mentioned in a small, optional bit of text. If he is truly a genius, I think it would have been better if this was shown in his dialogue. I don’t mean he should’ve spoken with lots of academic lexis, but rather, he should’ve had moments where he outsmarts the other characters, or knows things they don’t. Another small criticism I have with his route is that it’s never really explained why he has lots of time off of school? It is in his character description on the official website, but as far as I remember, it’s never actually addressed or explained in his route. Given what his route revealed about his character, it could be that his improper housing led to illness, his app development took up lots of time, he was too depressed to go to school, he didn’t want to be bullied that day, etc. It would have been nice to have some clarification

Despite my criticism, I really enjoyed his route! It had a nice mixture of wholesome and dark, and I just like the guy. He kind of reminds me of myself when I was his age, which definitely reflects poorly on me, but it led to me developing extra sympathy for him. I don’t think he is a bad person, but he is clearly very broken, and in need of a very talented counsellor. The Japanese level was also quite tough. I am an intermediate learner, and I struggled quite a bit with this route, however you never learn if you don’t challenge yourself. It also didn’t feel short for me, because I was constantly pausing to look words up in the dictionary, lol. The game was also cheap. I bought it for £4 on Steam and it is worth way more than that! I am feeling very excited about the future routes, and will be playing Ren’s next. If you are still reading this and you haven’t played the game already, I highly recommend it! Just do it!

There may be some things I missed, due to memory, poor Japanese comprehension, etc. I would be delighted to hear your thoughts and opinions on Kanoe and this game! This game really needs more love in the anglophone community.

Impressions: Soooo good. This was funny and swoony and lighthearted til the end. Haruki and Iroha were a match made in heaven.

I got hooked from the first chapter as the couple, mostly Haruki, reminded me of A Condition Called Love. Until ACCL, I didn't know I was a Yandere fan. LOL now I always look for my next Yandere fix. This was a more comedic version of ACCL and was charming in its own right.

Iroha started a bit bland, but by the end I couldn't tell who was more love obsessed. They really complemented each other's crazy tendencies.

I have come up with an idea to make the Rainbow 9 in 1989 kinda important!

Under the cut is my ideas

I believe Yui Rio is meant to give you a fake ID so I’m going off this idea of the rainbow nine providing useful items after befriending them with slightly difficult tasks. For Yui’s task I think it should be something like:

“Yui Rio doesn’t believe you are capable of fighting off the delinquent girls. Beat all five of them up and bring back evidence of your victory to Yui.” Her task would simply be fighting all five of the female delinquents and bringing back one of their weapons to Yui. You must defeat ALL of the female delinquents without killing them, so making them drop their weapons after being beat in a fight

Yuna could provide a limited supply of uniforms per week similar to Hazu. However she will be slightly different, she won’t automatically make the uniform. You have to ask her to make the uniform and she will take an ingame 30 minutes to sew up a new uniform for you. Her task could be:

“Yuna Hina loves to sing but is far to embarrassed to sing in public. Set up a small stage in the school gym for Yuna’s friends to watch her perform.” This task would include finding a microphone somewhere on school grounds, asking the Drama club to retreat to their club room, setting up the small stage with props similar to Ai’s performance and ask the rainbow girls (and Kaguya if this is week 1) to attend her performance

Koharu could give the player a permanent self defence boost, or more so known as a half a level (10 study points) of physical education in class. Her task could be like:

“Koharu Hinata wishes to join the Martial Arts club but is too busy talking with her friends to ever attend club activities. Speak with the Martial Arts club members and inquire if it is okay for Koharu to miss activities twice a month.” Completing this task would generally be simple. But would add Koharu to the martial arts club making her fighting back much stronger

Mei could provide a permanent extra 2 study points per class session. Mei’s bonus does not stack when the player skips the day, only when actually playing the day and attending class on time. And her task would be:

“Mei Mio is currently working on a paper for her college applications, but she doesn’t have a printer at home to print off her papers. Locate a working printer for Mei to use.” While it seems simple, the only working printer would be in the faculty room and faculty will be using it all the time. You would have to sneak in during class time and plug in Mei’s USB (or whatever type of portable storage device available in 1989) with her papers on it to print.

Haruto could include some extra matchmaking advice making matchmaking slightly faster. His task could be like:

“Haruto Yuto has been wanting to get an ear piercing for some time now but his parents do not allow him to get one. Find a needle and a lighter to pierce Haruto’s ear so he can insert his own earring.” This also seems kinda simple as needles are found in the sewing room and you can just use a blowtorch from the science club right? Wrong. You need a specific needle to match the size of Haruto’s piercing he wants to add and a blowtorch would melt the needle so you need to steal a lighter from the faculty member who smokes.

Sota would give the player a one time payment of $100. The catch is the player would first have to:

“Sota Yuki is running low on money, so much so that he has completely ran out of money and has no money to pay the fare on the way home. Give Sota $100 and recommend a part time job to gain his trust.” Yes the player has to first make $100 to receive Sota’s $100. I know $100 in YanSim is literally worthless but hey I’m kinda running low on ideas.

Hayato can give the player a second 10 points immediately put into your physical education stat. This matched with Koharu’s bonus once you attend class you will instantly gain one level of physical education. However unlike Koharu Hayato’s task will be:

“Hayato Haruki has been considering joining either the sports club or the martial arts club. Ask the members the benefits of their clubs and relay this information back to Hayato.” This task will take minimum 2 days to complete as the clubs will get suspicious of Ryoba asking both of them the benefits of their clubs at the same time. After he hears the information he will join the sports club greatly increasing his physical strength and speed.

Ryusei will grant the player an extra 2 study points every week if they request to study with him. Ryusei’s task would be:

“Ryusei Koki often hears loud noises coming from the science club. Spy on the science club and discover the source of these disruptions to Ryusei’s studying.” Upon completion the player is not given a choice but to waste the rest of their after school time studying with Ryusei that day. If the player does not study with Ryusei once a week Ryusei will believe he is not a good friend and you will have to complete a different task to regain his trust.

Lastly Sora could give the player a bonus when socializing with a student. His chill vibes would transfer over to Ryoba and make her more popular. His task could be:

“Sora Sosuke wishes people would quit calling him lazy when he tries to relax at school instead of doing his homework. Do his homework for him so he can say he did it at home.” This would be similar to the current task he has now. But the catch is you can only do it after class if you don’t want a reputation penalty for being late for class, because doing his homework will take 2 hours out of the player’s day. So if you start at 3:30 you will regain control of Ryoba in time to finish Sora’s task at 5:30.

That is all my ideas. I hope they are not too much to read and make logical sense for 1989.
