I know how that in the Milliuim world arc people are upset on how Theif king Bakaura story ended with him being merged with Zorc and not addressing the issue of the massacre of his village. Well we all know that Kazuki Takahashi (RIP) had to cut the arc short due to a massive health scare as well as a loss of readers ( due to the focus not being on the card game). The Memory world arc was cut short  due to fears of the manga not being able to finish. That being said I have to come to thought process of what the story could have been and what had  actually happened with Atem all those years ago by looking at what was not said.
Atem's father we know ordered the millennium items creation and was horroried when he learned how they were made.  Asking the gods to only punish him and not Atem. He died and Atem became pharaoh. When Atem ruled the items were used to exorcise monsters that had taken over people's souls as a way  of keeping his subjects safe and to keep peace. He could have also had done other duties of his station such as perpareing his tomb etc. (maybe having friendships with Teana  and Joe , (Anzu and Joey's past  lives according to the game Forbidden memories). When Bakaura attacked the palace and the events that followed Atem than learned the horrible truth and decided to take action. He and  maybe a small army had to fight Zorc and with loses mounting; came to the conclusion that the items  with all there evil and how they were made, the monsters that spawned from them; were to dangerous for the world and decided to end the threat by  any means. He smashed the puzzle and sealed his soul inside losing his name and memory  and body.  But before he did he named Seth as his successor and order his name to be stripped off the records.  Either Seth , Atem or both made a plan to make guardians of the items  knowing that Zorc could return and for a way for Atem to finally enter the afterlife.
Who knows maybe someday we get an anime about Atem's life  based on memory world that shows how it actually happened and ends with Atem sealing himself in the puzzle. One can dream…
Getting  hit with my Yugioh phase again and can’t stop thinking of this
we have the 3 Egyptian  god cards
In Yugioh r we get the evil god cards
What about the Egyptian goddess cards!
Where are they?! What would they be!!!!???
A revolutionshipping idea I just had that would take place after DOSD either 6 months or a year. The whole idea is that Kaiba did go to the afterlife and meet Atem but is stuck there he is not dead but alive just stuck in a Linbo state. Of course Mokaba wants him back, Atem decently wants him to back and live his life and not leave his brother alone. Here is where Anzu comes in she than sacrifices herself to take Kaiba's place in the afterlife! Yes it would mean she would join Atem permeanty in the afterlife so Kaiba could return (so will see him GX etc) even tho it is somewhat bittersweet since she would have to see goodbye to Yugi, Joey, Mai etc  but she would get to join Atem.
There is still some stuff to work out but I thought I'd share.

Chapter 8: Mokuba
Our young heroes were currently walking along a forest path of the Duelist Kingdom, sharing with each other the duels their other friends hadn't seen.
Currently, Yugi retold his Duel against Ryota Kajiki, who had been third in the Japanese Championship, and his underwater monsters.
Sehrazat's group listened in excitedly and asked questions.
After Yugi ended his tale Jonouchi said: "Ryota Kajiki is a hard guy to hate."
"Well, he did give you fish!", reminds Sadiye, holding hands with her big sister Kihana.
"I still can't believe you didn't think of bringing food to the island.", tutted Kihanan gently, which made Yugi's group all look sheepish.
"And I can't believe this is not butter."
All stared at Maja, all beside Sehrazat who nodded in understanding.
"Is it time to spout cryptic nonsense Maja-Chan?"
The brunette with the long wild spikes nodded happily, which made all sweatdrop.
"All duelists came here with their own hopes and dreams.", tried Anzu to steer their conversation back to something normal.
She liked Maja but experienced for the first time this side of her was a bit strange, Anzu won't lie.
"Yeah.", agreed Yugi. "They have their own problems, just like us."
"Problems...", repeated Jonouchi and thought about his dear sister Shizuka. "You're right."
That's when they all heard a cry for help. Surprised they looked around.
In the distance they saw the lackey of Pegasus with the really pointy hair, having a boy in a chokehold who screamed for help.
They all run up to them.
"Hold it right there!", shouted Honda.
Hair-Guy Lackey stopped and turned around, still with the boy in a chokehold.
Again the boy asked for help and courageous Honda Judo threw the Hair-Guy over his shoulder, freeing the boy in the pink shirt.
Long Honda couldn't celebrate his victory, because Hair-Guy got up again and kicked him in the face.
Poor Honda fell down defeated and Hair-Guy grapped again the boy in the pink shirt.
While Kihana, Maja and Anzu helped Honda up and checked for injuries, Jonouchi commanded Hair-Guy: "Stop it! You won't get away with this!"
"What's your problem?!", added Sehrazat ready to let Afya take over to beat Hair-Guys ass.
"There's no need for violence.", called Yugi.
Joey and Sehrazat looked at him surprised and the girl tried to control her Yami who was ready to slaughter Hair-Guy.
"It's for your own good that you don't interfere.", told Hair-Guy turning around with the boy in his arms and showing them his empty Dueling Glove. "This guy lost all his Star Chips."
The boy cried out: "You're wrong! My Star Chips and cards were stolen from me!"
"It doesn't matter. If you lose all your Star Chips, you're deported from this island."
With this and the words those are the rules and he should give up, Hair-Guy walked with his "prisoner" away.
"Guy's we can't let this poor kid be kicked out!", said Sehrazat.
"Truth, if his cards and Star Chips were stolen it is unfair.", agreed Kihana.
The others also nodded in agreement and so they ran after Hair-Guy.
They reached him by a little port, where he threw his prisoner with the other duelists who lost in a tiny rowing boat.
"What did the person who stole your Star Chips look like?", wanted Yugi to know from the boy in the pink shirt.
"I didn't see his face because he covered it with a bandanna.", explained the boy. "He suddenly challenged me to a duel."
"Was it at the Duel Ring in the grasslands?"
"Yeah. When I placed my Star Chips and my deck on the table, he stole them and ran off!"
"We'll find that thief, so just wait!"
Hair-Guy informed them all how the boat departed in 30 minutes. That was their time limit.
"We'll find the thief.", promised Anzu.
"You will get your Star Chips back in no time.", assured Kihana.
"Just be patient!", added Maja.
"We'll find him and teach him a lesson!", growled Honda, hitting with one fist his open palm.
With Afya in their shared minds, who called for bloodshed, Sehrazat nodded rapidly.
"Yeah! For a duelist, Star Chips are the same as his own life!", said Joey. "I won't forgive anyone who steals those Star Chips!"
"Is this not a bit too dramatic?", mumbled Sadiye to herself.
The only real ones who were in a life-or-death situation were Aunty Amira and Yugi's grandpa...oh and Joey needed the money for his sister's eye operation.
Maybe that was a Duelist thing?
Sadiye also played Duel Monsters, but she wasn't as obsessed with it as Sehra, Nee-Chan and Yugi and Joey.
The boy in the pink shirt said thank you to them and Joey, of course, had to make a joke saying he would take as a reward for catching the thief half of his Star Chips.
All sweatdropped and stared unimpressed at him.
After this, they made their way to the Duel Ring where the theft had happened.
Honda asked Jonouchi what this reward nonsense was, however, Joey laughed, confirming he was only joking.
The blonde wondered then, why they returned to this Duel Ring and how they should catch a thief without a clue.
Now, Yugi explained that he only knows how criminals always return to the place of the crime.
"That's so smart, Yugi-Kun!", praised Sehrazat and sat down beside him on the ground.
Yugi laughed shyly and blushed red, one because of her compliment and two because they were so close.
He could smell her nice perfume.
Lotus blossom if he wasn't wrong.
The others also sit down on the ground.
They didn't even need to wait long as suddenly a short masked boy with a wool hat and a bandana on his face sprung out from the bushes.
"I found you, Yugi!", he shouted...in a voice Sadiye know.
Confused the youngest in the group blinked.
Huh?
Where did she hear this voice before?
"He must be the one we're looking for!", said Joey, as all jumped back up from the ground. "I'll beat him up!"
"No! Don't use violence!", shouted Anzu and Kihana together.
Bandana-Boy growled Yugi's name and Joey and Honda growled back he should give back the Star Chips he had stolen!
"Wait.", stopped them Yugi, before really fist were swinging. "I think he's here for me."
Suprised all looked at him.
Yugi turnend to the boy.
"Do you want to duel me?"
The Bandana-Boy nodded.
Okay, so a children's cards game shall clear the situation, alright.
Only poor Sehrazat rubbed her temple because Afya still demanded blood.
Sometimes she forgot how her loving Gran-Gran could be a bloodthirsty Warrior-Queen.
While Yugi and Bandana-Boy took each their place on the Duel Ring, Honda promised he would make the thief pay if he tried to steal Yugi Star Chips.
Joey agreed and how they wouldn't let him escape.
As the voice of reason came Kihana: "Guys, there has to be a reason why he wants to battle Yugi so much. Let's watch the Duel, maybe we will find out."
In one second Yugi was there and then...not anymore.
Since Sehrazat and her friends saw Yami for the first time they all gaped and even blushed or got bashful.
The pharaoh was hot!
Only Sehrazat just looked neutral.
Meh, she liked Yugi better.
Also, the pharaoh was her 3000-times Grandfather so, ew, no!
However, she couldn't help but tease Afya a bit.
"Gran-Gran, Pops is hot. You have good taste."
Afya just flicked her forehead.
"Not now child of mine, also I'm pretty sure we had an arranged marriage, you know, like it was used in the old times."
"I see how you are practically undressing Pops with your eyes...don't lie!"
"I pledge the Fifth!"
"Gran-Gran!"
Meanwhile, the others noted how the boy didn't have a Duel Glove, so he was definitely the thief. Then they wonder why Yugi would duel him if they only had such a short time to return the Star Chips.
It was Anzu who pointed out that maybe Yugi knew who the boy was!
Yami and Bandana-Boy wagerd 5 Star Chips and began their duel.
The first turn was Bandana-Boy.
"I play Man-Eating Plant in attack position."
Man-Eating Plant: ATK 800/ DEF 600
Yami countered with Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress.
Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress: ATK 1400/DEF 1200
Bandana-Boys monster was destroyed and his Life Points dropped to 1400.
"You can't defeat my monster using stolen cards.", lectured Yami. "Because your heart doesn't dwell inside stolen cards."
"Yugi, I don't believe in your 'heart of the cards'! Cards aren't about the heart! Cards are about power!", shouted the thief back.
"Like I thought, you're Mokuba, Seto Kaiba's younger brother.", revealed Yami.
Angry the thief took off his disguise.
It was really Mokuba Kaiba.
"Mokuba-San?", shouted Sadiye. "What are you doing here?"
"You know him?", asked Anzu.
Sadiye nodded.
"We go to the same school and class. He sits on the bench before me."
"Sadiye-San, my brother vanished because Yugi hurt his pride.", answered Mokuba his classmate, before he turned back to Yami. "It's your fault that Pegasus is now trying to take over Kaiba Corporation!"
"What? Pegasus?", asked Yami, while the others also looked worried at Mokuba.
This didn't sound good at all.
Mokuba explained how Pegasus spread the news of how Yami defeated Seto Kaiba worldwide. Since then, Kaiba Corporation has lost the trust of its investors and business has plummeted. Pegasus had just waited for this moment. He talked in private with The Big Five, Kaiba Corps Board, telling them to transfer all their chares to him. Only like this, they could save the company. The Big Five agreed under the conditions that Pegasus would defeat Yugi in a duel. Of course, Pegasus agreed, saying how easy this would be.
But since Mokuba had the key to the Storage Facility, where all the important documents were, Pegasus kidnapped him to the Duelist Kingdom as his prisoner, before he could flee.
"Yugi, it's all your fault!", accused Mokuba.
"I understand the situation, but that's no excuse for stealing other people's cards.", told Yami.
"Be quiet! I play this next!"
Krokodilus appeard on the field.
Krokodilus: ATK 1100/ DEF 1200
"Go, Krokodilus!"
The monster attacked Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress, but was of course defeated by the more powerful monster.
"It's pointless to keep duelling.", said Yami. "This game isn't so simple that you can win with stolen cards."
Jonouchi agreed: "That's right! Stealing Star Chips for revenge is the worst!"
"You're wrong! You have the wrong idea! I have to protect Kaiba Corporation in my brother's place!", shouted Mokuba back.
It's then that Anzu realized if Mokuba managed to get Yugi Star Chips, this would disqualify him, meaning Yugi technically never lost a duel.
"What do you mean?", wondered Honda.
"You don't understand?", asked Joey.
"Do you?"
"Well, no. What do you mean?"
"She means: If Yugi doesn't lose in a duel, Pegasus's agreement with The Big Five is void.", answered Kihana.
All beside Anzu made an oh sound.
They got it now.
"I see.", mumbled Yami, before he saw that Mokuba wasn't anymore on his Dueling Platform. "Mokuba!"
As it turns out Mokuba climbed Yami Duel Station and managed to grab Star Chips, leaving him with only three, before the younger Kaibe started to run off.
However, he was stopped, by Sadiye who stood in his way with her arms open.
"Sadiye-San! Let me pass!"
"No, Mokuba-San, what you doing is wrong!"
"It's the only way!"
Before he could just run around her Kihana, Maja and Sehrazat blocked his way too.
"Mokuba-Chan.", began Kihana. "Please there is another way, just listen."
Under the ice blue eyes of Sadiye's older sister, Mokuba felt he looked at Seto's beloved Blue-Eyes White Dragon, which made him stop in his tracks.
Sehrazat took over: "You have to trust Yugi. If he beats Pegasus, nothing will happen to Kaiba Corp."
Maja and Sadiye nodded in agreement.
"Kaibe is suffering right now.", called Yami. "But that's so he can learn about the heart of the cards. He's fighting to win his pride back. Kaiba will return when he learns about the heart of the cards. Are you willing to abandon your brother and the trust in Kaiba Corporation?"
"But...But what should I do?"
"Like Kihana and Sehrazat said...I promise to defeat Pegasus. If you want to know what Kaiba is struggling with...If you want to understand the heart of the cards, give that boy back his deck and his Star Chips."
The younger Kaiba thought for a second and looked at his classmate and her sister. Again his eyes found Kihana, who nodded at him.
He really had a feeling he was interacting with the Blue-Eyes White Dragon...it was strange but nice.
Mokuba turnend back to Yami.
"I undertsnad. I trust you, Yugi."
"The boat is leaving in three minutes!", reminds Anzu.
"Let's don't waste time!", shouted Sehrazat.
They all ran as fast as they could back to the little port.
Sadly the boat was already leaving!
They meet Hair-Guy at the port who smugly said: "The losers' boat already left."
"But they shouldn't have left for another minute!", disagreed Anzu.
"That's unfair!", shouted Sehrzat with balled fists.
"I don't care.", said Hair-Guy.
Joey accused Hair-Guy of tricking them, which all our friends agreed on.
Mokuba holds out his hand with the Star Chips to Hair-Guy.
"I'll return these Star Chips, so call the boat back."
Hair-Guy just slapped the Star-Chips from his hand and they fell into the ocean.
Oh no!
"Some of this were Yugi's!", exclaimed Sehrazat.
Feeling guilty Mokuba said sorry to Yugi.
"If you have your Star Chips stolen, then you're a disgrace as a duelist.", mocked Hair-Guy. "That alone is enough to disqualify you."
Then he gripped Mokuba.
All shouted shocked.
"Unhead, Mokuba-Chan!", growled Kihana, while Sehrazat felt, beside her own, Afya's anger.
In one second both switched places.
Before anyone could realise what happened, Afya and Kihana stormed the Hair-Guy, Afya punched him hard in the face and Kihana took Mokuba from him.
With the boy in her arms, Kihana ran back to the group and they all huddled protective around him.
Afya had her feet on Hair-Guys back to keep him down.
"Don't move or you will regret it.", the once queen of all Egypt hissed.
"You bitch...!"
"Insults won't get you far."
To demonstrate it Afya stomped Hair-Guy harder into the ground.
All were fascinated by that and Yami was immensely proud.
His queen was truly a strong woman.
A real Warrior-Queen.
...It was so hot!
Hair-Guy realized how he was in a pickle and decided to change his tactic.
"Alright, alright, the boy stays with you but...The only way to gain Star Chips is through duels."
"What do you mean by that exactly?", growled Afya, pressing her foot harder into his back.
"If I see right Yugi has still three Star Chips left.", began Hair-Guy. "I don't duel but in an hour I will find an opponent for him, so he can stay on the island."
"And what is the catch?"
"That you let me go."
Afya hummed and turnend to Yami.
"What do you say?"
"Any funny business and Afya will throw you in the ocean.", said Yami seriously.
"No funny business I swear!"
"Alright, Afya let him go."
"No you guys should go with Mokuba away, I will catch up to you and tell you the details from this guy. I don't trust him not to try to grap Mokuba again. Kihana protect him!"
"Of course, your Majesty, it's not even a question."
So the group without Afya walked away and when she was sure they were far enough, slowly she lifted her foot from Hair-Guys back.
He stood up, shaking and gasping for air, but told her where this duel for Yugi/Yami would be.
In an hour at the grasslands, where they had duel Mokuba.
Afya gave Hair-Guy a last look which screamed murder, which made the man shake and then caught up to her friends.
(*)
An hour later our group of nine now returned to the Duel Ring.
Kihana held hands with Mokuba and Sadiye, Maja and Anzu stood protective beside Mokuba, Maja ready to unleash magic in case something went wrong, while Joey and Honda stood before them and before them were Yami and Afya leading.
"We should be careful.", whispered Afya to Yami, she didn't want to worry the others. "I bet with you Pegasus henchman has a surprise in store."
"We will be careful and keep one eye on Mokuba."
"Kihana is strong and Maja has some surprises up her sleeve."
"Care to tell me?"
"The magic we use isn't the only one."
This made Yami blink for a second surprised before he gave Afya a smile.
"How you and Kihana saved Mokuba and you kept the henchman in place was incredible."
Bashful Afya put a bit of her long blue hair behind her ear.
"It was nothing. I couldn't watch a child being kidnapped!"
"Of course, but you reacted the fastest of us. You are a true warrior."
"Well...I might be your queen but I won't disagree how I'm a warrior too."
Both smiled flirtatiously at each other.
They couldn't before all flirt as they normally would.
First, it was their private affair and second, they didn't want to give the others second-hand embarrassment.
Hair-Guy already waited for them.
Yami came straight to the point: "Who's my opponent?"
"He's already here. Look!"
All let out surprised shouts.
"Kaiba?"
"Nii-Sama!"
Kaiba laughed.
"Yugi, I'll get my revenge!"

yugioh characters sexuality (long edition):
yugi: bisexual and possibly aromantic. In the case of the last one it took him forever to admit it to himself because he associated it with the usual "I shall be unlovable and monstrous forever" schtick. Also he's nonbinary
atem: asexual and biromantic (is tag-teaming with yugi. Covering each others bases) doesn't know what a gender is and is slightly perplexed by his partners complex relationship with it
joey: I like how we have all agreed he’s bi. Has a slight preference for men (55-45 ratio about) and simultaneously a preference for more feminine looking people. outside of gender terms he's a leg man don't @ me
Anzu: also bisexual with a preference for men (60-40). Tgirl Anzu that is hustling to pay for estrogen and bottom surgery and does dance partially because it gives her gender euphoria my beloved
Honda: gay sorry miho. Took longer to admit it than Joey but is dealing with it better than he is tbh. Give him a good boyfriend for his patience please
Ryou: we’re not sure actually. He’s not even sure. Likes guys… probably. May not like women… maybe? Likes ghosts. Whether or not he's a tboy is a 50/50 toss in the air
Evil(tm) Bakura: he came from a time before pride pins existed but mostly likes guys yeah. Not actually as horny as people make him out to be. Tkb has no rizz I will stand by this he was a feral child that was mostly focused on vengeance and food all the time.
Pegasus: straight in a gay way I won't be elaborating. Might be a lesbian.
Kaiba: Blue Eyes White Dragon with left homophobia regardless of any actual attraction he experiences.
Duke: Bisexual but he does not know how to be normal about it. There is a difference in his mind between exploiting sexuality/flirting and actually engaging in it on a personal level. The first he is good at the latter less good at. He will have a gender crisis once and return with his new gender, Cis+ and/or genderfluid.
Marik: Sometimes a man is misogynistic enough that he becomes gay (real talk he is gay and the idea of needing to Procreate for the sake of the tombkeepers lineage has haunted him from day 1). Also he might be transfem but probably will never know that due to internalized self loathing and various other issues (is tempted to just stay a cis guy because everyone assumes hes a girl because of how he dresses and that was just like. Normal Guy Clothes for him growing up)
Yami Marik: technically the same thing as normal marik but also he couldn't gaf about something as stupid as 'gender' (his or others) in the long run because he has better things to do, like murder people and lick random surfaces
Ishizu: Lesbian and was not looking forward to continuing the bloodline of the Tombkeepers Heritage (tm). Is going to have a gender crisis at age 23 and her siblings are going to be very supportive of her while she cuts off all her hair and starts wearing exclusively wearing business suits (may or may not stick)
Rishid: The only relationship i care about is rishid x therapy. Someone a while ago said nb lesbian rishid and i support the vision
Mana: Girl :) (no further explanation in her head). She is putting off marriage for as long as possible, a difficult feat for your average well-off teenage girl in Ancient Egypt.
Zorc: Zorc 𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙𓆙!

Round 3: Poll 6
Which rare pair is more underrated?
Propaganda under the cut
Pairing 1: Coinshipping (Miho Nosaka/Anzu Mazaki|Tea Gardner)
Propaganda: girlie girl x tomboy 4 the win
Pairing 2: Loyaltyshipping (Yami Yugi/Dark Magician)
Propaganda: No propaganda submitted
Now, let’s keep things civil. This is a silly poll where we can share why we love our overlooked ships. There’s no need to be nasty to prove your point. Bashers will be banished to the Shadow Realm.

Sorry if I didn't include your favorite rarepair on the list; limited space so I had to pick a few of admittedly my personal favorites.
So which rarepair do you think deserves more love in the yu-gi-oh fandom?

As it should have been.

Before we start, here is something that has always confused me.
When Yugi and his friends go to the hospital to see if Grandpa Muto is awake, they all wear their school uniforms and Grandpa is already up and running.
In the next scene, they all go home together.
We know it takes at least a whole night to reach Duelist Kingdom and patients who have been in a coma need at least a few days to return to forces.
So how the heck is this working?
That's a plothole, so I decided to fill it realistic.
Enjoy the chapter!
Chapter 18: The Legendary Heroes I
Afya looked with loving eyes at Sehrazat and Amira.
Thankful Pegasus had indeed held his promise to free the trapped souls and after a few days of recovery, Amira was back home with them.
Sehrazat clung to her mother, not leaving her side, she even slept with her in the same bed as when she had been a child.
This was right now the scene Afya watched.
Mother and daughter sleeping soundly in a bed together.
A bittersweet feeling arises in Afya.
It felt like she once had been the daughter and also the mother.
How little she remembers of her life as queen.
Yes, she had found Yami again and their love was as new ignited, but...she felt so bad how she didn't remember her children.
Yami and she had at least one child for sure, a daughter who had founded the Faizan Family, sadly her name was lost in the passage of times.
The former queen had lost so much.
It hurt.
She signed and caressed both Sehrazat and Amira's hair.
This was her and Yami's flesh and blood, maybe it would be enough to love through them their daughter.
Their daughter who has been dead for 3000 years, while she and Yami roamed the world as spirits.
No parents should in any way survive their children.
It was unnatural.
Afya closed her eyes and tears fell down her cheeks.
She just wished for a moment, just to see a glimpse of her children.
Sadly nothing came to her.
With a tearful sign, the former queen of Egypt retired back into her Millenium Fragment.
She needed time alone.
(*)
Yami felt the exact moment when Afya returned to their mindscape.
He could feel the sorrow of his queen like it was his own.
So he stepped out of his Soul Room and knocked on hers.
"Come in.", she called quietly.
The pharaoh found her sitting on the stairs of her palace, looking thoughtful.
"Love.", he said and sat down beside her. His arm wrapped lovingly around her. "Talk or just hold you?"
As an answer, she embraced him tight and cried on his shoulder.
She needed comfort before she could talk and Yami would give her this.
They stayed for quite some time like this, but Yami didn't pressure his wife. He would gladly just hold her till she cried all her tears, even without telling him what was wrong.
When she felt ready, she would say so.
After a while, Afya took his hand and led him to her bed chambers.
She still didn't tell him what was wrong but asked him to make love to her.
"Are you sure?", he asked, caressing her cheek.
"Yeah...I just need to feel your love, please darling."
Well, Yami could never say no to her.
So they made sweet and tender love.
When Afya reached her orgasm she cried again and Yami kissed her tears away.
They lay naked and spend in each other arms and slowly Afya told him what was wrong.
"I understand you fully, my love," he told her and kissed her forehead. "I thought about this, too—about us, our life, our family...I also log in to know more and to even have a glimpse of our child."
The royal couple talked long into the night, till they fell asleep.
Their hearts are a bit lighter to have shared this pain with their spouse.
Maybe the gods would be so kind and give them some vision one day.
(*)
The next day Yugi's group and Sehrazat's group had together lunch in Domino High.
They were surprised that they went to the same school, yet only had met at Duelist Kingdom.
Life was crazy.
Currently, Yugi and the others told their friends, who weren't there yesterday, how the American Champion Rebecca Hopkins wanted Grandpa Muto Blue Eyes, even calling him a thief before her grandfather saved the whole situation.
"She sounds like a brat.", said Maja, slurping her ramen. "And you just gave her your Ties of Friendship card, Yugi?"
Anzu answered her: "Well, in the end, she was just a little girl, who misunderstood something and Yugi showed like this how he forgave her."
"Yeah, but she's still a brat.", agreed Joey with Maja.
"If we are talking about cards, I could use some new ones for my deck.", told Kihana, drinking from her water bottle.
"You guys can come with us to my family's Game Shop.", said Yugi smiling. "Grandpa wants to meet you all."
"It would be nice to meet your grandpa officially and get some new good cards.", found Sehrazat.
So it was decided that Sehrazat, Kihana and Maja would come after school to Yugi's family Game Shop with the others.
Sadiye had already made plans with her school friends and would join them another time.
Grandpa Muto was a sweet old man who told the three girls to call him just Grandpa and helped them with making their decks stronger.
Right now Grandpa showed them new cards, as the door to the shop opened.
All turnend around and saw...Mokuba?
"Mokuba-Chan!", called Kihana worried and kneeled down beside the rain-wet child. "What's wrong what are you doing here?"
"Kihana-Nee...Nii-Sama..."
Kihana took Mokuba and all helped him get inside Yugi's house.
They were now in the living room, Mokuba with a warm blanket and a cup of warm milk as he explained what had happened with his brother.
"Kaiba is trapped inside an adventure game world?", shouted Yugi surprised.
"And if you lose, you can never leave?", said Anzu.
"That's scary as impressive at the same time.", added Sehrazat.
Kaiba Corp was really the most high-tech industry in the world to create something like this!
"Yugi, please save my big brother.", pleaded Mokuba.
"But since Kaiba Corporation's executives are involved, this will be difficult.", warned Grandpa Muto.
"My big brother's dream is to build Kaiba Lands around the world to make children happy.", confessed Mokuba.
This surprised anyone.
Kaiba seemed so cold and yet he had such a noble dream.
Kihanna felt a mix of emotions.
She didn't know Seto Kaiba, the only interaction they had was when they stared at each other like in a dream, however, something inside her felt this was the true nature of Kaiba's character.
Where she knows this she wonders herself.
"That's really Kaiba's dream?", spoke Jonouchi aloud what the most thought.
"It's true.", answered Mokuba. "That's why he devoted his whole life to Kaiba Corporation. He never had time to relax."
Kihana stroked the younger boy's hair gently.
"Don't cry Mokuba-Chan, we will help you save your big brother. Right guys?"
Of course, all agreed and so they followed Mokuba to one of the closed Kaiba Lands.
Apparently, they had Virtual Reality Seats there too.
As they stepped inside they saw the capsule and Mokuba checked if they were functional.
They were!
Now they could enter the Virtual World.
There was only a small problem.
"I see four capsules and we are eight.", pointed Maja out.
"Well that's a no-brainer.", said Jonouchi. "Me, Yugi, Sehra and-"
"Me."
"Mokuba?"
"Mokuba-Chan are you sure?", worried Kihana. "If you lose, you can never leave the game. I don't think your brother wants this, I should go."
"Kihana-Nee, there's no point living in a world without my big brother! You understand, right? Could you live in a world without Sadiye-Chan?"
Well, he got her there, so she let him.
So Sehrazat, Yugi, Joey and Mokuba enter the capsule, while Honda, Anzu, Maja and Kihana wait and protect them if necessary.
"You have to come back, or I will find a way to drag you out myself, I swerve by Ra.", told Kihana with Anzu and Maja nodding in the background.
"We will, Kihana. Just only to not face your wrath.", joked Sehrazat half-heartily.
In truth, she was kinda nervous, but she loved video games, so she hoped her experience as a gamer would help her.
With this Honda pulled the lever and the four in the capsule were transported into the virtual world.
(*)
Sehrazat and the boys walked around a forest.
The girl had to admit, all looked, felt and sounded real.
Incredible.
"I wonder if this world has a connection with Duel Monsters.", shared Yugi his thoughts as he looked at the Deck Holder on his arm. It had a place for Duel Monster Cards and a display which showed the number 2000. "We don't know the rules of this world, so we need to be careful."
The other agreed with him.
They stopped on a cliff and looked down.
A cemetery was under them.
Slowly they made their way through it and Yugi pointed out how they surely would pass through it scot-free.
"I've seen this place before.", mumbled Jonouchi.
"Where in Silent Hill or Resident Evil?", asked Sehrazat. "For me, it looks like just a creepy cemetery."
Suddenly they heard Jonocuhi scream that there was a ghost.
It was not one ghost, but three zombie Duel Monsters.
"Clown Zombie, Armored Zombie and Dragon Zombie?", said Joey their names surprised. "They're Duel Monsters. In that case..."
He drew a card from his deck and then didn't know how to summon it.
Sehrazat, Yugi and Mokuba fall down anime-style.
Then the Zombie Horde raced towards them to attack!
Mokuba drew a card, held it up and called its name.
"Go, Rude Kaiser!"
Yugi and Sehrazat followed his example.
"Come out, Dark Magician!"
"Let's do this, Dark Magician Girl!"
The three monsters appeared in a flash of light and attacked the zombie monsters.
The zombies were destroyed, however, they came back.
Since Joey knows now how to summon a Duel Monster he called for his Flame Swordsman.
"Oh no! Stop your attack, Jonouchi!" shouted Yugi as he noted that the zombies' attack points had increased.
But it was too late.
Flame Sword man attacks Dragon Zombie, only for it to return and destroy Joey's monster.
Yugi explained how Zombie Monsters gained attack points every time they resurrected since they were immortal.
"This reminds me of Jonouchi Duel in Duelist Kingdom!", gasped Sehrazat and drew a card. "So this will help! I activate the Magic Card Shield & Sword to swap their attack points with their defence ones. Now we can attack. Dark Magician Girl! Dark Burning Attack!"
Dark Magician Girl destroyed all the Zombies and they were safe.
For now.
"Good reaction, Sehrazat-Chan!", praised her Yugi, while she smiled shyly.
Duel Monster cards appeared before them and they picked each one up.
"There's a picture of gold coins.", wonders Mokuba.
"It's probably this world's money.", guessed Sehrazat.
Meanwhile, Joey looked at his Life Points and was shocked that he didn't get them back. He was now at 1820.
"I see. This represents our life.", said Mokuba.
"Damn! What happens if it reaches 0?", shouted Joey.
Sehrazat made a face.
"We better don't find out."
All agreed.
That's when Joey noted a cute little fairy hiding behind a gravestone.
The group stepped towards it.
"Aww, she is so cute.", cooed Sehrazat.
"In video games, fairies give hints.", told Jonochi.
At that moment, the little fairy flowed away and our group of four ran after her.
If Joey was right, then they must follow her.
Sadly, they lost sight of her but found a desert city.
Maybe there someone had a clue where Seto Kaiba was?
So they enter the city.
"I'm getting Assassin's Creed vibes from this town.", mussed Sehrzat looking around. "You can parkour here amazing."
"Hey, guys look at this!", called Yugi.
There was a market stall with ultra-rare Duel Monsters cards!
Jonouchi wanted to buy them all, but Mokuba pointed out how pricey they were. With their 5 gold coins each they could buy nothing.
After this disappointment, they decide to split up to find clues about where Kaiba could be.
They meet up at the big fountain in the middle of the town to share what they found out during their investigation.
"Did you learn anything?", asked Yugi Sehrazat who shook her head.
"Sadly not."
"Me too!", said Jonouchi, while a dog was biting down his jacket.
"I learned a lot of stuff!", said Mokuba and led them to the border of the desert town. "This morning, someone transporting a person inside a cage went to Owess Temple."
"Could it be Kaiba?", wondered Joey, as they all looked at the huge desert before them.
"Probably!", chorused Yugi and Sehrazat together.
"In order to get to Owess Temple, we have to cross this desert.", explained Mokuba.
This made alarm bells ring in Sehrazat's head.
"You don't want to go on foot, Mokuba! That's dangerous, we need a camel or a horse. Going on foot is suicide!"
But Mokuba didn't listen and ran into the desert.
"No, Mokuba, wait!", yelled Sehrazat and ran after him, followed by Yugi and Jonouchi.
It seemed they walked for hours in the desert and then also a sandstorm formed.
Just awesome!
"This is impossible!", shouted Joey.
"I told you it is suicide to cross a desert on foot, listen to the Egyptian girl!", grumbled Sehrazat.
"Let's go back, Mokuba.", begged Yugi.
"Be quiet!", shouted Mokuba back. "I have to find my big brother."
Of course, a sand tornado raced right up to them and enclosed them.
Then all went dark around them.
Sehrazat didn't know how long she was knocked out, but she heard how Yugi gently shook her awake.
She opened her eyes and sat up.
"Yugi-Kun...what happened?"
"We are back at the desert town."
Mokuba had his back all turned to them, no one knew what they should do now.
Maybe really find a camel like Sehrazat had said?
Out of nowhere, they heard an old man laugh.
"Do you wish to cross the desert?"
They run up to him, Joey asking him if he knows a way.
"You need a Niwatori card to cross the desert.", was the answer.
"What? That card that looks like a Chocobo from Final Fantasy?", said Sehrazat with a raised eyebrow. "The Big Five are totally ribbing off Final Fantasy VII! Is Sephiroth also here or what?!"
Yugi patted her shoulders to calm her down.
"There, there, Sehrazat-Chan."
Sehrazat pounds but calms down, so Yugi turns to the old ma asking him where they could get a Niwatori card.
And that's when they finally encounter the first bug in the game.
The old man just repeated his two lines to infinity.
Since this was a dead end, the group decided to split up again to find the Niwatori card.
(*)
In the real world, Honda and Anzu leaned on the control panel, while Maja sat down on the ground and Kihana stood beside the capsule with crossed arms.
"A lot of time has passed already.", pointed Anzu out.
Maja looked up to her. "Some games take weeks to finish them. Who knows how long they have to stay in this one."
"I really hope not for weeks.", said Kihana worried. "They will waste away and die surely."
"Ah, don't say such a thing Kihana.", begged Anzu.
She couldn't and wouldn't watch her friends just die before them!
"Now, girls, let's calm down.", said Honda. "To pass the time, I'll tell you all a special story. The title is 'Hiroto Honda's First Love During Middle School'"
The girls deadpanned at him.
"We definitely don't want to hear this story!", said Anzu for all of them.
"Really? How about my elementary school graduation speech about wanting to become a pilot?"
"Do you seriously not realize the danger we're in?", gritted Anzu out.
"I would throw a pillow at you if I had one right now!", added Maja.
"Honda, be serious!", chested also Kihana. "We're not playing a funny game for fun this is a rescue mission."
That's when they heard how people entered the building. They looked out the door and saw a man in a suits, probably the Big Five security people.
"Okay, guys, I think it's magic time.", told them Maja.
They closed the door and watched how Maja held her arms up and chanted something in Arabic.
The metal door flashed in gold.
"There, this should keep us safe. They can't enter from the other side."
"Awesome Maja-Chan!", praised Anzu, which made Maja all bashful.
"It's still so bizarre to see real magic, but yeah, awesome!", agreed Honda.
"How long will the spell last?", asked Kihana.
"I have enough energy don't worry. I can't at least hold up the barrier for another three hours."
Kihana nodded and looked at the capsule.
"Then let's hope it will be enough time for the others."

Tumblr media
She had thought it strange that the spirit of the Pharaoh had even returned at all, after all, when Seto had attempted to bring them back by reassembling the Millennium puzzle, it hadn't worked, even when Yugi put the last piece in to prove it. Though for the briefest of moments, she could have sworn she saw him return. Anzu had not forgotten the hole Yami's departure had left in her heart, even if it was for the best, to finally let him have his rest, saying goodbye to a friend was never easy.
The fact that the Orichalcos was involved should have set off some red flags, that was something she had thought was also gone for good. Was that why he insisted on being referred to as Yami rather than Atem? At his question, she pursed her lips, then shook her head.
Tumblr media
"Of course I still think of you as my friend. What kind of question is that? Magic or not, you've always been our friend Yami, you always will be."

Note
anonymously asking this so someone doesn’t kill me for this
if you’re still doing the anti ship takes, can you do one on vexshipping? (tea x yami bakura)
Of course! I love hating!
Yami Bakura is Satan and I would normally end it there, but I won't there's more.
He's also turned her into a doll, turned her friends into dolls, manipulated Ryou and Yugi (her friends), constantly takes control of Ryou's body, tries to kill Yami (another friend of hers), tries to steal the puzzle, and I'm pretty sure he never actually says her name.
He barely sees her as a person and doesn't recognize her as anything special. He also gave Anzu's MW figurine boobs and that's a little weird considering he's never spoken more than a few sentences to her and he's way older. (3000+!!!)
I'll stop talking about how Yami Bakura is a creep and start talking about how these two have nothing in common. There is nothing these two have in common. They have so little chemistry I'd say it was insane, but this Yami Bakura and Anzu we're talking about. It isn't surprising at all.
They don't have any big interests in common, Yami Bakura hates her and her friends, Anzu hates Yami Bakura and everyone involved with him.
When they do acknowledge the other, it's never in a cute way. Always in a "oh you exist" or a "he's a creep I wish he'd leave". There is nothing there except distaste.
Sorry this was shorter. They have so little interactions and Yami Bakura generally doesn't mess with her so it was harder to come up with stuff without out right lying.
Remember, this ask game is for fun. I don't think people should actually hate on ships.
If you have any questions look here

Talking to the Moon
A fic I've been badly wanting to put together for a long time. The first of several probably. Heavy implications of Yami Yugi/Atem x OC. Please accept my cringe.
Yugi awoke with a start. Through his groggy vision, he could see the blaring red lights of his alarm clock spell out 2:03 AM. Behind it, he could make out a silhouette that looked eerily like himself, only taller and transparent. Most would be frightened by this, but not Yugi. He recognized it his friend, his "other self", the spirit of a pharaoh that inhabited the Millennium Puzzle. Yugi opened his mouth to greet his friend, but stopped himself. Right away he could tell something was off. The Pharaoh sat in the swivel chair at Yugi's desk, one leg draped over the other and his arm supporting itself on the chair's back. His gaze was directed up at the sloping window above with deep concentration. It wasn't uncommon for Yugi to awake to his other self sitting in deep meditation somewhere in the room late at night. But he knew this time was different. It was the look on the Pharaoh's face that perturbed him. He had never seen such an expression on him before. Most of the time, if not always, the Pharaoh had an air to him to him that perfectly lived up to his status. He was a strong stoic, controlling his inner emotions and masking them behind a professional, aristocratic demeanor. But that was not the case in this moment.
Yugi would describe the Pharaoh's expression at the the moment as...bittersweet. It was a strange description for a look, but it was true. The Pharaoh's lips were completely still, but Yugi could tell the corners were nearly turned downwards like a frown. His fine, dark eyebrows were knitted upwards from concentration, but one with somberness mixed into it. The eyes were what concerned Yugi the most. Those eyes... You know the saying that eyes are windows to the soul? That's what came to Yugi's mind about his other self's eyes at that time. The Pharaoh's eyes, always sharp and dignified, were heavy lidded and laxed, and Yugi could see everything weighing the spirit's heart crystal clear in them. The look was one of wistfulness and longing, a complex concoction of sorrow, affection, nostalgia, and tenderness.
Yugi's first thought was immediately what could possibly cause such a reaction from his friend. He followed the spirit's line of sight to the window. Beyond it was the dark void of the night sky and the massive, luminescent full moon. The moon...Yugi had almost forgotten about that. Tonight had been a super moon, when the moon closed in on the earth and everyone below was given the chance to really bask in its full glory. For the occasion, Yugi's friends had gathered on the top of Kame Game to enjoy the celestial anomaly. Anzu, Jonouchi, Honda, even Otogi and Bakura all ooh'ed and aah'ed while snacking on marshmallows that Jonouchi had brought. All the while, Grandpa Muto rambled on about legends about the moon and his reminiscence of the moon landing. Anzu had also put together a small playlist of songs she thought were perfect for the occasion. Thanks to her experience in dance, she whipped up quite a selection, from Claude Debussy's "Clair de Lune" to "Moonlight" by Ariana Grande. Yugi took a moment from the festivities to check on his spirit friend and ask him if he wanted to join. To his surprise, he wasn't there. He checked within the Puzzle and, more surprisingly, the door to his soul room was sealed shut. The young boy had thought the Pharaoh would want to join as he never turned down a chance to be present among their friends. That, and it wasn't uncommon for Yugi to find him watching the moon. Whether it was through the bedroom window or simply while standing outside, the Pharaoh would stop and stare up at the moon. Not that Yugi thought it was odd, of course. He understood the former Pharaoh's supposed fascination with the moon and his tendency to zone out from time to time.
But tonight, he knew it was something else entirely.
For a moment, the Pharaoh broke from his statue-like reverie to let out a deep breath. Yugi couldn't take it any more. "Other Me?" Yugi spoke up softly. Like an owl, the Pharaoh's head whipped around and he looked at his vessel with large eyes. "Aibou." he nearly exclaimed. "Are you okay?" The spirit cleared his throat and sat up straighter in the chair. "Yes, I'm fine. Just thinking is all." "I figured that, but..." Yugi trailed off. Worried as he was, Yugi didn't want to intrude. But it was too late now. He sat up in his bed to face his other self better. "You look...I dunno...like something has got you down." No response. The Pharaoh only blinked. So Yugi pressed on. "I mean, you were looking at the moon with this kinda sad look on your face." Still no response, but Yugi could see the gears whirring like crazy behind the Pharaoh's eyes. The concern in the boy's heart doubled, yet he knew he was encroaching on something delicate. "You don't have to tell me. I was just wondering, y'know. You're my friend and I want to make sure you're okay is all." Yugi turned his gaze down towards his twiddling thumbs in his lap. "I know, aibou. Thank you. But I am fine." the Pharaoh said. It was lie. Yugi knew something was gnawing at his friend. But he had done what he could at the time. He didn't want to intrude more. So he chose to drop it. He gave his other self one last 'good night' before tucking himself back under his bed covers and closed his eyes to return to sleep, but it would be a good while before he finally did as his mind couldn't rest as easy.
*******
Morning came and the moon had departed, followed by the rising sun. Yugi was packing his bag and readying his uniform for the school day, all the while the Pharaoh sat on his bed watching him get ready. As he got dressed in front of the mirror, Yugi stole glances at his other self in the mirror's reflection. He had gotten a decent night's rest, but it wasn't as peaceful as he would have liked. He still worried over the spirit's odd behavior. As well as something else he caught wind of while asleep. It could have been part of a dream, but still, Yugi could not ignore it. "Hey, Pharaoh," he began, trying to sound more upbeat "since we're linked to each other, that means we can see what the other is dreaming, right?" "I suppose it would be possible, yes." the Pharaoh responded. "Really, huh? That sounds pretty cool." Yugi smiled to himself. "So...you dream too?" The Pharaoh hummed positively. "Did you dream last night?" Yugi asked. The Pharaoh looked at his vessel. He thought for a moment before replying, "No, I don't think so. Why do you ask? Did you see something?" "No. I mean, I didn't see something. I..." he trailed off for a second before finding his footing again "I think it was a dream I was having. I don't remember anything about it, but I remember hearing something." "Oh? What was it?" "Uhm, well..." Yugi let out a small, nervous chuckle. "It sounded a lot like your voice, actually. I couldn't really understand most of what you were saying, but I did hear you say this one word a few times." The spirit of the Millennium Puzzle looked alert. Confused, but interested in what the boy was telling him. "What was it?" he asked. Yugi was silent as he finished putting his jacket on. "Amunet." he stated. Dead silence filled the room. The two looked at each other, unblinking, surrounded by a thick, uncomfortable tension hanging in the air like smoke. "W-what was that?" the Pharaoh blinked a couple of times. "Amunet." Yugi repeated "That's the word I heard you say. Amunet." The Pharaoh's mouth was parted open, but no words came out. Once again, the gears in his head were turning and turning, yet going nowhere. "I...I don't remember saying that..." Yugi didn't know if he was lying or confused. If it was the former, he would have felt hurt, but his other self's reaction concerned him too much to. "I could have dreamed it. I was out cold." he forced himself to chuckle. The Pharaoh said nothing. Yugi cleared his throat and slung his bag over his shoulder. "Well, better get going. Don't wanna keep Anzu waiting." he said before darting out the door to head to school. As he hurried down the stairs and on to the city street, the word played over and over in the back of his mind. Amunet, Amunet, Amunet...it sounded familiar, but Yugi had no idea what it was. Perhaps a name? He never met anyone with that name and he had no clue how the Pharaoh could as he knew all the same people Yugi knew and had no memories of his past. Whatever it was, Yugi forced it as deep as he could away in his mind. He didn't want to bother his other self with it any further. That look in his eyes, the tremble in his voice...Yugi had never seen it before in him, and even if he didn't know him as well as he had, he could easily tell it was a very sore subject. Why that was, Yugi wondered with all his heart, but, at the same time, didn't want to know. Not for his own sake, but more so for his other self's. For now, the Pharaoh's admiration of the moon and his utterance of that name could be a secret locked up tightly in his own heart.
