Jam's Christmas in 2024 feat. Ramiro

Jim and Yam celebrate Christmas with their daughter Lola. It's the final Christmas they'll have before the new baby arrives. Also Ramiro makes a surprise visit!

Jim was sitting on the couch, watching the Christmas tree shining from the corner. They did it nicely.

Yam suddenly slid in the room, as she held their daughter Lola up in the air.

” I just wanna be part of your symphony!” she sang, as Lola was laughing. ”She had a great nap, and now is ready for christmas! Look at her little outfit!”

Lola was wearing a one piece suit with Christmas trees all over.

”I love it,” Jim said. 

”Take off!” Lola exclaimed. 

”Why, is it itchy?” Yam asked. ”I tried to make it as soft as possible.”

”No itchy.”

”Not itchy? Then why don’t you want to wear it?”

Lola smiled. ”Naked.”

”You wanna run around naked? Well, you can’t.”

”Yes, can!”

”No, you can’t!” 

Lola seemed very displeased. ”Want naked.”

”You know why you can’t run around naked?” Yam asked. ”First of all, because it’s Christmas, and on Christmas we wear clothes. Second of all, you’re not potty trained and I don’t trust you without a diaper on.”

”Yes, potty…”

”You’re not potty trained, Loli. I’m your mother, me if anyone knows this.”

Lola formed a grumpy face. ”Naked, now.”

”When I trust you won’t poop on the floor, you can.”

“Let’s talk about presents instead!” Jim suggested. “There’s a lot of presents under the tree!”

”Right!” Yam looked through them. ”Look, Lola! This one's for you, from your grandparents. And this one is also for you, from your other grandparents… this one’s for you from your uncle… and for you, from your other uncle. This gift is… also for you, from your aunt… and we have another gift… surprise! Also for you! From us! ”

”Is there any gift not for Lola?” Jim chuckled.

”It doesn’t seem like it… Lola, your birthday was two weeks ago! And yet you still get all the gifts?”

Lola giggled. She had turned two earlier in December, and was still the only grandchild and niece on both Jim and Yam’s sides of the family.

That would all change in January, though.

”Open?” Lola asked. 

”Of course, open all the gifts you want!” Yam said. ”But not this one! This one is actually not for you!” She had dug out a smaller wrapped gift and went over to Jim on the couch. ”This one is for my beautiful wife.”

”What! For me?” Jim took it from her with a smile. She opened it, and gasped. It was a photo collage containing three photos: The first one was when they just started high school, the second one when they had just started University, and then the final picture was their wedding. 

Under the pictures, it said ”To think my true love was here the whole time”

”I love it!” Jim exclaimed, and kissed Yam. “And I have a gift for you… it’s over there…” She pointed at a small gift lying by the corner of the tree.

“Loli, can you get that gift for us?” Yam asked.

“No,” Lola said.

“Please?”

“Mami get it!”

Yam patted on Jim’s belly. “She’s very tired, so she has to rest on the couch.”

“Yeah, I have your sister in my belly!” Jim explained. “She’s so big that it’s hard for me to walk around.”

“Sister come now?” 

“In January. So she’s coming soon. But not yet.”

”Can you give me that gift over there?” Yam asked again.

”Open present,” Lola replied, holding a gift of her own.

”Alright. Open your own gift first.”

Lola opened her gift from her grandparents. Then she opened the gift from her other grandparents. Then the gift from her uncle, the gift from her other uncle, the gift from her aunt and finally, the gift from her moms.

As she surrounded herself with all her new toys, she was too preoccupied with giving Yam the present she had asked her for, so Yam got up and got it herself.

”What can it be?” Yam asked Jim excitedly.

”Open and you’ll find out.”

Yam slowly unwrapped it. Then she gasped.

It was a new plectrum, in the lesbian flag.

“Oh my gosh! I’ve wanted this ever since I saw it at the store!”

“Hehe! I knew you’d like it!” Jim said. 

“Look what your mom gave me!” Yam told Lola.

Lola frowned. “No toy?”

“No, it’s not a toy,” Jim chuckled.

Yam looked at her wife with a smug face. “Maybe you get another christmas gift with a toy in it after the kid has gone to sleep…” 

“Yamila!” Jim hissed, and grew red in the face. “Don’t say that in front of her.”

“She’s not gonna remember this anyway.”

“I don’t know… I had my first memory when I was 2… also, look at her. She’s staring into thin air like she’s experiencing a memory.”

Yam glanced at Lola, and snickered. “I think she’s staring into thin air for different reasons.”

Jim looked at her more closely. “Oh. Yeah, you’re right.”

“Loli, can you come over here?” Yam asked.

Lola waddled up to them.

Yam stroked her hair calmly. “Did you poop?”

“No,” Lola replied.

“Ok, because you were staring into distant space,” Jim noted, “Which you do every time you do that.”

”And you smell,” Yam added. 

“No poop on floor,” Lola said, pointing at the floor.

“No, and you know why?” Yam asked. “That’s because you’re not naked. You had your diaper on, because you can’t control when you need to go.”

“Hmmm…” Lola buried her head into Yam’s knee.

“Don’t worry, you’ll learn to control it. We’ll teach you.”

“Now?”

“Not now, but maybe later.”

“Maybe when your sister is born, we’ll potty train you,” Jim said. “No, wait. I’m gonna be too tired to potty train a toddler and take care of a newborn…”

“Right…” Yam sighed. “Sorry kid, you might need to use diapers for a month or two more… we’re too tired.”

“Unless you’re ready to cooperate and make an effort yourself,” Jim told Lola. “Then we can try.”

“Change me?” Lola asked.

“Right, it’s no fun wearing a dirty diaper for too long,” Yam said.

Jim sat up. “I can change her.”

“No Jim, you should rest-”

“The baby is kicking my bladder, I need to get up anyway.”

Yam took the time to clean up all the wrapping paper that was scattered on the floor.

Then suddenly, someone rang the doorbell. 

“Who could that be?” Yam asked.

Opening the door, she saw Ramiro do a silly pose.

“Surprise! Merry Christmas!”

“Ramiro!” she exclaimed, giving him a hug.

“Was there someone at the door?” Jim asked, holding Lola. 

“Tio Ramiro!” Lola exclaimed. Jim put her down on her floor so she could run up to him.

“Little dude!” Ramiro exclaimed. He lifted her up. “Guess what. I met Santa on the way here and he gave me a gift that was for you!”

“Did Santa bring us any gifts?” Jim asked.

“No, you two have been very naughty,” Ramiro said. “Especially you, Jim. You ate an entire baby!” He turned to Lola. “Did you know your mom has a baby in her belly? She ate it.”

Lola shook her head. “Mami made baby at hospital.”

“Why did you tell your 2 year old the procedure of making babies?” Ramiro asked.

Jim and Yam shrugged.

“Anyway! Little dude! Wanna see what Santa brought you?”

“Yes!” Lola giggled.

Ramiro put her down and got a wrapped gift out from his backpack. Lola immediately opened it.

She then held up a little cap that said Little Dude on it.

“Put it on!” Ramiro encouraged her.

Lola put it on, and looked at her moms.

“Aww!” Jim and Yam exclaimed.

“Turn it backwards,” Yam suggested. Lola did, causing the adults to clap at how good it looked.

“This was a great gift!” Jim said. “Don’t you think, Loli?”

“Yes,” Lola said. She turned to Ramiro. “Thank-u!”

“You look really rad!” Ramiro said. He then turned to Jim and Yam. “Ok, I got you two a gift too.”

“Aww, you shouldn’t have!” Jim said.

“It’s fine if you didn’t give me anything…”

Yam smirked. “Oh, don’t worry! We have a gift for you, too!”

They went back to the living room, where Lola started playing with all her new toys while the adults sat on the couch. 

“You need to open my gift first!” Ramiro said.

“Alright,” Yam shrugged. She slowly unwrapped the gift, as Jim was looking curiously behind her shoulder.

The two women then chuckled when they saw what it was.

It was a picture of the time Jim and Yam accidentally had dyed their hair silver, and Ramiro had done the same in solidarity, and the three of them walked out on stage. The picture was in a rainbow colored frame and had a caption written at the bottom. On our best hair day

“I love it, thank you!” Yam said.

“Now you need to open your gift from us!” Jim said.

“Alright…” Ramiro curiously checked out the wrapped gift. He shook it lightly. “What can it be?”

Slowly, he opened it, and let out a chuckle. 

It was a pair of socks, with Ramiro’s own face printed on it.

”Oh my god!” he exclaimed, trying to not laugh too much. ”I love it!”

”We knew you would,” Jim said.

”I forgot to buy a gift for your unborn child!” Ramiro exclaimed. ”Sorry!”

”It’s ok,” Yam said and stroked Jim’s belly. ”She doesn’t need anything just yet.” 

”You can buy something for her birthday,” Jim said. 

”And when is that?” Ramiro asked.

”Whenever she wants to come out! Which should be early January, but she might be late.”

”I’ll be sure to buy her something good!”

Ramiro went home shortly after. Jim and Yam rested on the couch, observing their daughter playing. 

”Next year, I’m gonna dress up both girls in matching outfits,” Yam said.

”You’re already thinking about next christmas?” Jim asked.

”Of course! When it comes to planning outfits I’m gonna make, I plan far ahead!”

Jim kissed her. ”Do you think Lola will be a good big sister?”

”The best.” 

Jim then remembered something. ”By the way… did you really have another gift for me…?”

Yam smirked. ”Maybe… it’s stored in my drawer and I’ll give it to you after we put Lola to bed.”

”I can’t wait…”

Yam put her head on her shoulder. ”Merry Christmas, dear.”

”Merry Christmas.”

Soy Luna Season 2 Episodes 31-52 Thoughts

Okay, it took me forever to progress through these episodes because I am a workaholic who was playing Mass Effect or talking to friends during my only free hours lol. Most of these thoughts are about the last few episodes because those are the ones I watched recently

Juliana annoys me, but it seems after the competition, they are going back on her character to make her less overtly rude and demeaning and more just strict and wanting the best for people. She kinda reminds me of my boss who made me cry on his second day on our team by yelling at me, but now I'm the most competent person he has and the most trusted one. I miss Tamara (and I kind of had a crush on her lol, Pedro was so valid for that lmao)

Thank god the stupid twins storyline is over, it was such a waste of time and ruined Pedro and Nico's friendship.

Luna x Matteo is giving me the ick, and it's because Matteo looks like someone who's old enough to have graduated college while Luna looks like an actual high schooler. Despite being around the same age as Karol, Tini didn't look that young while playing Violetta. It probably has to do with her being taller, having a less high-pitched voice, and a more angular face. That and Jorge doesn't give me weird vibes like Ruggero does

I still stand by Ramiro's overconfident attitude trying to compensate for his insecurity being a more interesting and better quality for the "cocky leading man" role than the way Matteo is written. He's pathetic you could say, but in a charming and likable way, which makes you root for him. I cannot say I find Matteo likable at all

Gaston and Nina not communicating and having their relationship suffer because of that is realistic but hard to see

Yam and especially Jim give out so many positive vibes these season, it makes me happy whenever they have lines lol

It's funny that the show wants us to root for Matteo in general when Simon is the one encouraging Luna to support Matteo more while he's jealous. He also has way more people supporting him during the competition with the only ones supporting Matteo outside of Luna being Gaston and Ramiro.

The biggest example of Matteo sucking though is he's salty both Simon and him won and is visibly annoyed by this news, while Simon is just ecstatic that he gets the opportunity at all

The Simbar sparks are forming, and I can already see why people love them

Xavi is not someone I really care about or like, but I do appreciate the end of his story being that he understands Nina isn't into him and not getting remotely mad. It's a positive example, and something I think more shows could stand to depict.

Luna being concerned about Simon getting hurt when getting close to Ambar gives more romantic energy than anything between Matteo and Luna lmao

As I said in my massive post about queer Violetta headcanons and in the ask I just posted, Ludmila is a big lesbian for me. With Naty, I'm unsure, but I tend more and more toward a yes.

In Soy Luna, I of course have two mention the girlfriends Jim and Yam! While I can sometimes enjoy their relationships with Nico and Ramiro in canon, I don't see any romantic attraction between them and any men. Also, there's that scene where Gastón randomly hits on Yam and she looks disgusted lmao.

The only other character I headcanon as a lesbian is Emilia, because come on... Her nonsensical s3 crush on Matteo was a comphet moment, the writer told me /j

I don't think anyone ships him with Yam (except maybe that one straight!Yam truther on ao3), but she's here both because he asked her out on a date once in canon, and also it seemed like too little with only 4 people. Then I remembered Ramiro also existed and added him, and there is DEFINITELY Gastón x Ramiro shippers around somewhere.

with all these gaston crackships/rarepairs that are coming out lately it would be so fucking funny if he had a flig with all the main characters (ambar, nina, simon... hell luna too if you want) and they all know it except matteo

S3 Yamiro breakup/relationship

Author's note: This is an opinion, solely an opinion which means there is no right or wrong answer. It's normal in a community to have different opinions, in fact that's whats so cool about the world, how everyone is different. This is NOT me trying to impose my opinion. If you agree that's great! If you don't agree, that's great too! Remember opinions are not facts, and solely take this with a grain of salt. I love sharing my thoughts on the show especially since I love all the characters and love how beautifully the plot is written.

So watching the show I loved seeing Yam and Ramiro grow as characters and to love interests. I found them to be one of the most underrated ships in the series and even the ones most misunderstood due to how distinct their personalities are. Yam is a strong willed character who holds her values about sticking to the good side very close, while Ramiro is also strong willed but loves to do things his own way, which sometimes mean breaking the rules. Here you can already envision them budding heads and arguing lol. While they may be true opposities, they're perfect for each other because they help each other grow as characters.

When Season Three came, Ramiro had no choice but to join the Red Sharks team because while for most of the Roller members skating was just a hobby, his was going to be his career/future. When the gang found out, most of them kept their distance. One in particular, his girlfriend at the time, Yam was extremely furious about the situation and immediately broke up with him. I did found this to be a little strong on her part and she could've tried to be more empathetic but here's the thing that many tend to forget, no one's perfect and certainly not any of these characters. Which is the beauty of the show. They're growing up whilst making mistakes and we as the audience too resonate with that.

Yam's character made sense for this context, one of her main flaws is that she tends to be harsh on the people closest to her because she loves them, which are Jim and Ramiro. She fell in love with Ramiro (which you can tell since she cries to Jim about breaking up with him) because she thought he grew to become a better person, but when he moved to the other team, that vision that she had of him broke. She saw it as a betrayal to her more than a betrayal to the team. She felt that he was not who she thought he was. It was wrong for her to be super tough on him but it was part of who she is, she couldn't help it. She needs to learn that sometimes people aren't perfect and you need to put yourselves in their shoes.

Fast forward to the end of the season, which is one of my fave parts of the show cause you truly see how developed all the characters are, she get's a call from the school and finds out her audition lands on the same day as the Roller's casting call. In this pivotal moment, she looks at Ramiro, he looks at her, and realizes she was wrong all along. Embarassed she stayed away from any eye contact. She learned that it's normal and okay to think about your own future too and your dreams/aspirations, like what Ramiro did in this instance.

When Yam starts singing Creyendo en Mi and Ramiro goes up on stage to join her, this time instead of avoiding him she says yes. After hearing their duet, she apologizes for not being understanding and too harsh on him before. He apologizes as well. Her character in this moment has grown so much because she realizes that no one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, even your loved ones and to not be so harsh on them. She lets her guard down and instead of holding her ground/position as being right, she admits she was wrong.
