#yall need to chill more about fictional characters and the people who like them for whatever reason

Some people in the tag really need to chill about Way from Pit Babe, who is a nuanced fictional character in a fictional world in which he is a (important) side character.

There are really some questionable posts which ironically are polar opposite in their extremes. Meanwhile the most of us are more in the middle of these stances.

It's so upsetting seeing people go "bro why you mad at shiver? Stop being mad at her, she's a fictional character"

When in reality is more than just that

First of, the people that say that are usually shiver and I'm pretty sure that if they were in the loosing streak that we are in they'd be all up and hands about it

Secondly, it is so much more than that

I've been seeing shiver fans complaining about things THEY have been doing ever single splatfest that we have been complaining about for centuries now! And when they get a taste of their own medicine, they keep going "chill out, its just a game"

Like you haven't been insulting us every single splatfest???? And we are tired of this for good reason, we aren't just salty, you guys are mean!

I've had anonymous people come at me at some point and I turned it off before it got as bad as I've seen others get it

And sure, we on the other side get a little too mean, I've seen that and dont condone it, but come on, to be acting like it came out of nowhere and that we are just salty we lost?

Everytime shiver wins, its a complete mess of shiver fans calling us mean names and saying they're justified because they're the best

There is a reason why Big Man and Frye fans have a better time together

And lastly, we aren't, for the most part, mad at Shiver, we are mad at her fans, we are upset at the people representing her

Tho, on that note, a little PSA to Big Mannies and Fryers, stop mischaractising Shiver, she is not her fans, i hate OOC stuff in general and even though she's not my fave, she is not as mean as her fans, as many say, "Shiver won't sleep with you"

Shiver fans are diving people, we wouldn't be this upset if they didn't instigate it, sure some would still be, but all my friends, many people here on tumblr and others have noticed the hostility of shiver fans, even my friends who like shiver and go to her team notice how hostile the environment is!

So take your own fucking advice and chill the fuck out, it isn't us who needs to be hearing that

I haven't played tri color yet cuz we are preparing to receive a guest in 2 days, I will once I arrive home, but from what I've seen.... eesh, I'm kinda worried about yall😬

But it seems to still be going mostly fine, I'm actually excited to be fighting with big man, I haven't had many, if any, bad experiences with them!

One Last thing though, altho I understand the anger, fire with fire won't do anything but create more fire, don't give them a reason to spew more hate, I don't condone harassment, don't stoop to their level

If you still want them to loose, one thing I'd recommend is that is none violent, is if you're on the attacking team with them, be hands off for the most part and let the defender team take the lead, you don't attack the other team but don't help out either

DON'T FUCKING SPAWN CAMP THEM! I am 100% against spawn campers no matter the team, I have been vocal about it since the start! And I'm not going to make exceptions because it's my team or the team willing to help us out and i won't defend that just because we all agree to rise up against shiver, yes i agree that we need to band together against shiver, but what the actual hell has some of these videos I've seen be?!!?

Small Vent cause stressed ahhhh

Lowkey think people take games, anime, books,movies, shows and just fandoms in general waaaay too seriously.

Like yes I get it, it can suck when a character to adore gets misrepresented by others. But they are just fictional characters at the end of the day. Maybe I'm just mostly saying this to myself to remind myself that it's okay that someone doesn't see a character like how I do. Because I'm deadass in multiple fandoms where we really just go but wild with our own versions of the characters. Like I'm in the Warrior cats AND the My hero academia fandom... And both of them are known for taking the canon and wiping their buts with it and or ignoring older material. Because well it just happens.

At first I use to get upset about it like how the warrior fandom made Bramblestar out to be this abusive monster without acknowledging the archs before hand and how in My hero academia doing.... Literally anything lmao(I love y'all though... Half of you anyway)

But seriously I just started to realize that the fandoms I'm in aren't My fandoms like I don't own them and I don't own the source material or the IP or whatever. And sometimes you never know why someone images certain characters they way they do. Whether it's for comfort or they think it's funny or they find it attractive or just to annoy people or literally just whatever.

But I always gotta remind myself that hey... THE BITCHES AIN'T REAL LMAO. Why get pressed about how other people illustrate characters. Like seriously I had to sit myself down like I was my own parent and ask myself why do I care about a fictional character being written out of character or drawn with a different design. And I really was just like... Damn yeah why do I care? These artists/writers are having fun and that's what it means to be in a fandom to just have fun.

The only time when I do get serious is when people try to harass others for characters they like because of how they see them vs canon.

Example: I saw this young artist get a bunch of hate comments under a drawing of Bramblestar/Brambleclaw because a massive part of the fandom claimed he was an abuser. Happened again with someone draw Crowfeather x Leafpool fan art because of how seriously people took Leafpool x Mothwing

AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED WITH MHA! They harasses the creator of the show sooooo many times in the past and current because of ships :T SHIPS YALL. Like I understand how frustrating it can be to see the show not end up how you wanted it to or not see too characters make out or whateva but God damn... They are fictional characters chill and just enjoy what we have or hell make what you wanted to happen. I literally do it all the time on my other page @purplestaruwu

Hell I'm still upset about how many characters were botched (in my eyes) in warriors, MHA, Naruto, bleach, marvel, DC etc.

But I think the fun in the fandom is making the what it's and creating our own versions of he characters and sharing it with others who feel the same or who just want to enjoy seeing the characters being draw in different designs, Au's, etc

I use to be so stuck up about everything being close to canon... But then I was just like "You know what it's not hurting anyone, you do whatever" and after that I feel like I became more relaxed being in fandoms... At least I try to be sometimes I do slip up but I stopped commenting on peoples different pov or au's or whatever unless I was gonna say something nice like complimenting the art or the writing or how good the plot of the story was.

It just got easier to just enjoy things and to just well not be so aggressive on the internet and not be online so much.

Cause whenever I get made about seeing a fictional character drawn in a way I don't like and I feel the need to say something... I just be like "yeaaah it's time to take a break for the day I think I've been online for too long"

This also goes for real things that happen online too lmao I just learned to take breaks and breath and remind myself that the online world is just that... The online world... And fandoms are just that fandoms...

I'm venting right now because I'm stressed out or more than likely I stressed myself out with because of online crap. And I just wanted to kind of put this here for me and for anyone else who kind of needs that reminder than you don't need to be online so much and you don't need to protect fictional characters or shows or movies or games or whatever it's not worth hurting someone's feelings because that.

Like I mind my business and it's in one ear and out the other, but it seems like people are going absolutely apeshit these days,,, what happened to headcanons? Idk maybe I'm just old school and frankly don't care that much about character takes, but making posts about how a character can ONLY be this way and then they lose their mind and start threatening and sending hate when someone else thinks differently.

If you had any dirty secrets online, they are out to the public now - thankfully, besides the Harry Styles stan account (with edits and all), you have nothing. Though, now that you think about it, exposed nudes would have been better than your Punk!Harry edit receiving almost a million views. God, your life’s a fucking mess.

If streaming doesn’t work out, you’ll just become an actress. Hollywood would love you. Your PR firm sure as fuck wouldn’t, though.

Rae was having none of it. She said you’ll figure it out eventually. Told you to channel your superior puzzle skills. You were quick to remind her that you can barely count to ten without having an aneurysm. Oddly serious, she admitted that she worries for you sometimes. Why only sometimes?! you demanded. She merely sighed. uttering under her breath something that sounded closely to “Boke.”

You leave her for barely a week and she’s already neck deep in the gay volleyball anime, hoodie and cardboard cutout and everything. Your life is falling apart.

But Brooklyn is nice. It had snowed when you stepped off of the plane. Thousands of snowflakes sprinkling into your hair, dotting your cheeks and nose. You missed this sight back in Cali. You missed your parents, too. 

Home cooked meals, old sweaters, your old room and about 40GB worth of old high school pictures on your computer. You went through them all one night. Some were stomach churning, cringe inducing nightmares. You were especially fond of those. Texted some of your friends that were still in Brooklyn, met up, decided to bake. Bad idea, Rae was the resident chef back in Cali. Besides laughing till your stomach hurt, and almost burning down your kitchen, nothing all that significant happened. Somewhere down the line, at about 3 am, half-way through a cheesy rom-com you had the overwhelming urge to text Corpse.

That’s where the problems really started. God, you missed California, missed being in the same timezone with a guy you hadn’t even met yet, how embarrassing is that?! You missed skating around and taking pictures of the beach in the setting sun, sending it to him, silently wishing he was with you to admire the view. 

You really want to call him. And to hang out with him. But for some reason, the thought of that springs up immediate anxiety and you shy away from asking. Him sending you cute good morning texts doesn’t help, either. Maybe it’s better he doesn’t know that you’re a blushing, stuttering mess each time you read “baby”. 

Late evening. Your stream is already set up, people are slowly trickling in and you greet them with a grin and a soft “Hello! Hi hi!”. You did your best to make your room a perfectly chaotic backdrop - led lights, an embarrassing amount of anime merch and plushies. You always try to balance out your weeb side by dressing hot as fuck for your streams - today’s inspiration just so happens to be egirls. Mostly because you watched one too many egirl make-up tutorials on TikTok, and also because you’ve been listening to Corpse’s song all day.

Yeah, no, who are you kidding, you dressed up this way because you were hoping Corpse was watching your stream. You didn’t forget your cat headphones, either. You know he likes them. You want to make him suffer. Perhaps then, finally, he will ask you out, so you wouldn’t have to.

An hour or so passes and you grow hungry. It shows with the amount of cakes you had baked in your server. Currently, you find yourself throwing eggs at the wall of one of the renovated houses, your face scrunched in concentration and slight frustration. 24 of the 50 eggs have been wasted. “What’s a girl gotta do to get some chicks around here?” you had uttered under your breath, until, finally, a screech - the egg finally spawns a mob. Your mouth falls open, “Aww, look!” You approach it, so small, walking in zigzags beside you, “It’s a baby chicken! Die, bitch.” The baby chicken is no more as you swing your bedazzled (you have mods) diamond sword. You’re cackling by the time the dust settles.

“Roaches,” You address your fan-base, spurring another fit of laughter - you can’t get over the name, “I think I’m like, forgetting that eating in Minecraft won’t actually make less hungry in real life.”

Another twenty minutes trickle by and you’re trying to lure back a panda from the jungle when there’s a knock on your bedroom’s door. Whipping your head to the side, you slide down your headphones. At the same time, your mom pokes her head through the ajar door, “MOM!” You scream, “Get OUT of my room I’m playing Minecraft!” But your yell has no actual bite to it, as you don’t manage to hide your smile. Your mom laughs, doing some sort of sign language and motioning for you to follow her with her head. That or it’s some sort of performative dance. 

“I’m live right now,” You tell her, pointing at your screen. She knows this already, though, “do you want to say hi?” 

The roaches spam the chat with friendly hellos. You mom, quite impatient now, waves you over. 

“Sorry, roaches, mom needs something. Be back in a bit!”

Stopping the stream, you rush out of your seat and pleased she slinks into the hallway. “What’s this about?”

“Your pizza came.”

“My what now?” You echo, confused.

“Domino’s. You ordered pizza?”

“What? No? I was busy with the stream, I never--”

Thankfully, you had managed to grab your phone from your room before you exited. You almost choke on spit once you read the messages.

You tweet out a quick apology to the roaches (God, that fucking name) and say that you had a breakdown but you’re okay. That is as a close to the truth as you managed to muster. It’s a sad sight, chewing and crying; your mom winced when she saw your state - disheveled hair and rundown eyeliner and everything. “D’aww,” She had muttered, caressing the top of your head, “don’t cry my little raccoon.”

If anyone was ever to ask you where did your chaotic nature come from, you’d answer with my mom. To make yourself feel better, you took a selfie - duck face and peace sign and the horrible 2000′s angle. Sent it to Rae.

You couldn’t just leave things as they were. Once you calmed down, you wanted to text Corpse, but how would you follow up the ungodly caps lock and screeching? Impossible. An idea sprung to mind, one that was brave. Taking the first step.

Instead of sending a text, you sent a voice memo.

“Thank you for the pizza, it was delicious.”

You voice still sounded a bit raspy. His reply was instant. Your heart skipped a beat. He sent a voice memo back.

“Glad you liked it, baby.”

He was going to be the death of you.

What is it that with all the recent BLs that have come out and are currently airing, the tags are full of people who just complain or want to engage in moral discourse...like bruh, keep it in your blog! or tag it appropriately! Stop! dampening! the excitement! for others, dammit! I'm seriously going to have to withdraw from the tags which is a damn shame :( but it's too irritating to get pissed off at every other post. of course, none other than king943 hSJADJSAJHAS. He’s a little secret I’ll let you all in on: the first person I actually noticed in TXT was,,,,,,, Kang Taehyun hSDHJAHJSDAHSA but he wasn’t my bias. I just thought he was cute (also amused me bc my BTS bias was Taehyung and I found a guy named Taehyun cute), but I didn’t stan them then. I started stanning when I saw ONE DREAM.TXT where they talked to BTS and found them really cute and endearing. Winter! Even if I’ve never experienced snow or winter before, the whole idea of snow is just really fun and endearing to me. One of my bucketlists is to see snow in real life. I think it has to do with the fact that I’ve always been this person to prefer the cold over heat.

what made you enter tumblr?

I’ve always been here! Just not in kpop tumblr. I’ve since deleted my old accounts and shame  but i came back to write. It’s always been so stress-relieving to me, to write without any expectations on my back because I’m thinking about grades or a competition. Also Soobin simping is a daily thing and I gotta release it somewhere man

are you happy with where you are in life right now? why or why not?

Yes. I may not be the richest or the prettiest, or smartest or whatever, but I have a good family that loves me. I have good friends that support me and I have TXT and BTS to help me cope when things get overwhelming. I have a job that gives me a little bit of income (it’s not too common for college students here to get jobs like in the US, most of them just focus on acads) and all the means to continue my education amidst the pandemic. So really, I’m grateful for where I am now.

to see the boys in real life but for it to happen only once in your lifetime, or to meet the boys via online fan meeting as many times as you can in your lifetime? why?

Why do you have to do me dirty cj,,,,, prolly online. I may not get to hug them or anything but I get to talk to them still. As may times as I want to. everyone is really afraid of fiction these days, yeah?

chk pls specific. like. jack/parse is canon - that happened. i personally have an interest in reading dramatic stories, unrequited love, messy relationships teenage tragedy, etc etc. the canon end of zim/bits is great! it’s sweet and cute and satisfying but I don’t need anything else from that pairing from the fandom. yall gonna read/write 1000 zim/bits fics and that’s cool too! do it. but for me (and others, for sure) the comic provided a fulfilling story and it was great and there’s nothing more i need to seek from that story line. its story was told and it was good. 

soooo. in fandom exploration. i’m gonna go read/write some dramatic, messy jack/parse. people will say, oh! that’s fine! that pairing is a mess but it’s ok as long as it’s in the past - don’t write or read about them getting together in the future! those are the RULES! and i’m like... why? who cares if it’s a mess or not a good idea or whatever? its all FAKE. it’s FICTION? explore all possibilities? i’m just not into reading about sweet cute domestic bliss - give me something else different than the canon story. i get this vibe from the fandom that you’re a bad fan or person if you want to write or read anything that’s not jack and bitty or anything about jack and kent in the future tense? or in a positive light? they’re all fictional characters? do whatever the fuck you want with them. have them get back together, break people up, write about what might happen in the real league, do what e v e r

Honestly, I find just going grocery shopping with my friend to be an adventure, I am sure visiting any of my friends in their hometowns, be they cities or small towns, I would find every day exciting. I have deep puppy energies. 

19. INTROVERT OR EXTROVERT: Introvert. I get so tired, my friend has told me to take a nap mid-party before. But like, as you hear, I love parties. I super love socializing, but oof I do get drained. If I could sit with people, no-energy, no-obligation, free to chat or chill, that’d be the dream. And I have a lot of those with my best friend, except with the minor energy obligation of transportation and sometimes other people....

23. DREAM JOB: If I’m god damn honest I hate the idea of a job deep down in my soul. Call it bein’ lazy but man I want my life to involve somethin more than making money to survive, that’s all I’ve ever done and I’d like to stop. But being able to help others, being a resource, brightening peoples day, being involved in something that enriches the world somehow. These kind of things make a good fit for work, and if it pays good, and I can build a routine around a solid schedule, then I guess I could live with whatever. 

24. WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH A MILLION DOLLARS: Do the math for how much I need to survive for the rest of my life, bare minimum style, then cushion that a little. Buy myself and my friends some nice things. Start giving money to strangers. Funnel it into important things that need to get paid for. Quit my job, travel, get extensive therapy, join fucking causes I wish I had the physical & mental resources for now, finally be able to put my passion into things again. i. which oc would you get along the most with? hmmm probably tyren; they’re a lot more...  chill compared to most of my ocs, which is nice. 

ii. if your wip’s genre changed, what would it change to and what would change and what would be kept the same? ooh good question. i think it’d probably go to adventure? like right now it’s not really an exploration-type adventure, but it could be if i played a little harder into the “finding xyz characters”. so if i got rid of the sorta “survivor’s guilt” motivation, i guess. 

iii. is there an idea for a wip you’ve been thinking about but haven’t done anything beyond that? yes! it’s gone under a few name changes (as they all do), but now it’s sitting under the title ‘decadence’. it explores sentient magic (and what i hope is magic realism bc that stuff is fun) and identity (both interpersonal and intrapersonal relations). i haven’t officially started writing it because i’m not sure what form i want it to be in (POV, novel vs collection of short stories, etc.) 

iv. what’s a song that perfectly captures your wips? ohh man. i have no idea. i even have a wip playlist, but i don’t use it lmaoo

v. if your wip was a movie or tv show, who would be the actors for your characters [basically face claims]? im gonna b honest and say that i don’t really pay attention to actors (like i know.... ten? actors by both name and face and works), so. not sure. 

vi. how do you come up with your titles? poorly. jk. well, i pretty much have a notes folder for random og fiction stuff that comes to mind, so if i’m in need of a title i’ll look in there, or i’ll leave it untitled/titled with the most self-explanatory thing until i come up with something better. even then, it usually takes multiple changes before i get set on something (both the odes and decadence are temporary titles; i’m not 100% set on the latter and definitely want to change the former) 

vii. if your characters were put in a reality show type setting where they all lived together, what would happen? hmmmmm. i don’t my main cast for the odes are particularly chaotic or intentionally mean/mischievous people, so it’d probably go over OK. unless u start bringing in the side characters with known bad relations w the main cast. 

viii. what ocs from different wips would or wouldn’t get along? why? ...so most of my decadence characters don’t have proper names yet. i’m thinking servitude wouldn’t get along with yara, because yara’s self-confidence and the values she puts in herself would probably make servitude uncomfortable, because that’s something she’s not accustomed to seeing is an option. long story there; just look at her name. on the other hand, i think storm-speaker would get along with tyren, because they’re both very righteous people. 

ix. how do you come up with settings? pretty much the same as titles. dreams, shower thoughts, etc... though ofc i’m certain there are influences from the real world/media works i’ve seen, but i just haven’t actively used them. 

x. if all your ocs decided to bake a cake together, how would it go? a lot of discussion on what cake should be baked that it probably wouldn’t be baked. if it does get started, probably two or three of them would actually do the baking and everyone else would just not do anything lmfao

Genderfluid is...complicated

As a little kid, I would go to bed some nights telling myself over and over that I was a girl. Some days "girl" fit. Some days it was close enough. But on days like those, it didn't work. I didn't feel like a girl. Not really like a boy either. It was confusing. Sometimes I cried.

As I got older, I learned to ignore it. My name was thankfully unisex, so I never had the problem of a traditionally female name. I wore pants, but occasionally I did want a dress. Most of the time, it was graphic tees or plain shirts, but I did own a few girly clothes for when I was in the mood for them. My parents wanted me to have long hair which sometimes was fine and sometimes... wasn't. On one of the days it wasn't and I had already begged them to cut it, I got some scissors and chopped it off myself. I never let it get past my shoulders again.

Once I became an adult, I got a modified pixie cut and have kept my hair that short since. I bought my own clothes which were a mix of androgynous and feminine, but nothing revealing or girly. I wore makeup because I was supposed to, but eventually I grew to hate most of it so I stopped. Sometimes I'd really want a dress, but more of the time I hated them. People commented that I was normally the nurturing type and a bit of a tomboy, but that sometimes I acted a lot like a guy. That I had never acted girly. Some people assumed that I was a lesbian. It was weird.

As I got older, I got more comfortable in my body. Occasionally I'd wear eye makeup or clothes that showed off my curves. Sometimes I wanted to burn my bra and just wore baggy clothes and layers. My boyfriend at the time said I was part guy which he sometimes found gross (like dude... that does not make you gay so chill). He even convinced me not to look into it.

I tried to conform to be what I thought I was supposed to be, but some days were harder than others. I just thought my differences and the constant feeling of being off was because I was in the closet about being bisexual. I even looked up transgender stuff when I found out about transmen and transwomen, but it didn't fit. I wasn't a guy.

Then I discovered nonbinary genders and the like. None of the words fit quite right, but it made me realize that I wasn't 100% female. I stayed in that limbo for a few years. It wasn't until last year that I read about a demiboy and his/their experiences trying to figure out his/their gender... and it resonated so much with me. That was me, only demigirl instead of demiboy. The character had "he" days and "they" days. I didn't realize I did too until one morning I was in the shower and said "she" and "they" out loud (followed by a proper freak out when "they" sounded so right).

But my gender still moved. Demigirl (she or they with a mild preference depending on the day) was what I was a lot of the time, but I could also be female (she), bigender (they), agender (any pronoun because I didn't care), or "hell if I know" (didn't care but leaned towards they). I looked at genderfluid again, but didn't think I could be that because I never really had a "he" day. So I kept on as a demigirl.

I was really sensative about my pronouns at first. Using the wrong one bothered me a lot on any day but an agender day. A lot of feelings had build up over the years and using the wrong one just set me off on the inside and made me feel horrible. My two friends I know in real life (they live in a different state now) supported me, but nobody else did. When I made a friend on here (I'm looking at you @winterpower98) that not only never quested my gender, but also corrected someone when they misgendered me? I cried. It was unexpected. I was shocked. I cried for a while after that. The person she corrected then went on using the right one despite me not even being there to see the conversation between them. I only even found out because one of them sent me sceenshots.

I was also way too hard on myself. If I woke up and it was a strong "they" day, I felt like I HAD to dress androgynous or masculine, even if I was in the mood to wear makeup and cute stuff. I wouldn't let myself not dress how I thought I was supposed to because it felt like I would be seen as a fake or that I would have to deal with misgendering and people arguing because I was wearing girl stuff on a day I felt like I wasn't female. Strong "she" days were even worse because if I felt female, but didn't want to dress feminine, I made myself. It was fine if I wanted to put on makeup and wear a cute top, but not when I didn't. It was exhausting and stressful and I felt like I always had to justify my identity. This was on top of demigirl not always fitting me exactly. I had this whole thing where I was scared I wasn't really a demigirl because I didn't fit perfectly. I was a ball of confusion who put on a brave face and pretended I new what I was.

I looked up genderfluid for a post I did for how I experenced gender. I was so frustrated and just wanted to get out how it felt to me, even if the words weren't quite right. That's when I realized that I was genderfluid (genderfluid/flux actually). It didn't matter that I never had "he" days; I was still genderfluid.

But that still didn't fix my problem with trying to dress to match my gender. Fictional works weren't much help because genderfluid characters always followed their gender. They were always super fem on girl days, masc on guy days, and androgynous on mixed and nonbinary days. And here I was, not fitting in as usual. I felt like I had to want to dress the way that fit my gender. I'm part of one of the most LGBTQ+ fandoms out there (Thomas Sanders) and regularly see pictures and art of people dressing in ways that aren't traditionally associated with their gender (and rocking it!) and I STILL felt this way.

The change happened slowly. I stopped being so worried of what others thought and started trying to be who I was. Being accepted as who I was by so many people helped me more than yall will ever know. So now I wear what I want regardless of my gender and it's wonderful.

The final piece of the puzzle came from @fuocsniperbot98. They are a wonderful person and nonbinary, but they are very chill about pronouns. I was so scared of goofing up and using the wrong pronouns. I told them and they were just... chill about the whole thing. They were cool with whatever pronouns. Their native language doesn't even have gender neutral pronouns, but they weren't bothered by it. It was like something clicked into place and I stopped feeling so bad when I got misgendered.

I learned to not to be so hard with myself too. I don't have to know exactly what gender I am every day; I just experence it. I'm still a demigirl and I'm still genderfluid, but I threw the rules I thought I had to follow in the trash.

You don't have to vary between all the genders. Your gender just has to vary. You can vary between only two genders and you are still genderfluid. Thus the fluid part.

You can sometimes feel like a mix of two genders. On those days, you might not be entirely sure what word to use for what you currently are and that's okay. Just try to find the pronoun that feels the most comfortable or allow yourself to just exist for the day or however long it lasts. It's okay to be nothing.

How genderfluid someone is varies from person to person. One person might stay one gender for months at a time while another person might vary from day to day. One person might spend time equally spread out between the genders they express, another might almost always feel like various mixtures of genders, while yet another might spend most of their time in a certain gender/mix of genders and only change rarely, in certain circumstances, and/or for short periods of time. I could go on, but the takeaway is that there is no right or wrong way to be genderfluid.

If the strength you experience gender varies (like if 0% was agender and 100% was female), you are genderflux which is on the genderfluid spectrum.

Sometimes the menstrual cycle can effect the gender of a genderfluid person due to hormones released at certain points (such as during ovulation), but not always. This can make you more likely to be a certain gender during certain windows of time.

Your presentation does NOT have to match your current gender/pronouns. Pronoun jewelry is a handy way to let people know what you prefer regardless of what you're wearing and can be as discreet or flashy as you like. You can even use regular jewelry and tell friends and family what they mean.

The bottom line is: I didn’t always like it, in fact it used to make me quite uncomfortable, but a lot of my friends are into it in a way I can totally get on board with, and tbh I didn’t think it was worth the damage to my blood pressure to try to watch this season without at least having an open mind or being into the idea and the possibilities. I’m a sebjace shipper at heart but I’m always down for an ot3 and I think 3b has been fun and interesting so far, and whatever happens I’m along for the ride.

I like dark shipping–if you’ve poked around my ao3 page outside my SH pseud you will find some Extremely Weird kylux fanfiction you’d probably know that, also honestly I consider some of my shit pretty dark. However, I do kind of find that sometimes clary/jon shipping becomes a little more rape-y (sorry sorry I don’t wanna be an ass but it is kind of true if you scroll through ao3) than what I’m personally into reading, so like most presentations of that is a major squick or turn off for me. I think it’s important to say I don’t judge that or think anyone who writes/reads noncon is evilbadwrong–quite the opposite. I don’t think any topic should be verboten or banned, and the reasons for writing or reading that content or any kind of dark content about fictional characters and worlds are varied and personal. However, there are tropes and dynamics that I personally don’t like, and Morgencest tends to hit on a lot of them.

That being said–I’m totally for making my own content that works in a dynamic I want to explore and reading what others have to say. I mean a lot of what I write has a dubcon safety warning on it anyway so take the moral posturing above (i really hope it doesn’t come off that way) with a grain of salt, but like.
