Taiyaki mule

Did Mikey train his kid to do nonsense? Absolutely.
Did he regret it?
Absolutely not.
Little name waddled at a fast pace from his dad's office, the guards watching him as he ran to the kitchen where Koko was setting down boxes of treats "ah yes, turn around" Koko motioned to the little toddler and unzipping the (cartoon) backpack he wore and put the boxes of Taiyaki in, zipping it up "thank you uncle Koko!" (Name) hugged the executives legs before speed waddling back to his dad "straight up Mikey's Taiyaki mule..." Ran joked as he took a sip of his whiskey.
"Papa! I got da 'yaki!" (Name) said excitedly as he pushed the heavy glass door closed and Mikey pressed a switch to blur the glass around them "good boy" he mumbled turning his son to help him take the backpack off and setting it on the table, lifting his kid into his lap "let's see what we got" Mikey mumbled taking out the boxes "kitty!" (Name) pointed to the variety pack and Mikey hummed " opening it and handing the boy the Taiyaki "here" he gave the tot the treat and little (name) did his little snack dance before eating it "(flavor)!" (Name) said offering his dad a bite and Mikey took a small bite.
Last time he took a big bite and (name) cried for an hour.
"It's Good.." Mikey mumbled and the two ate their respective treats.
Mikey took (name) most places, didn't trust nannies or he had one of the executives or Sanzu watch him.
"Wanna go get drinks?" Mikey asked his son who nodded, crawling off his lap and his dad helped him get his backpack on and watched him tot out.

The Prophecy
Atsumu Miya x Gn!Reader
Warnings : self hatred, self doubt, js plain old negativity, mentions of self harm, alcohol, suicide, please scroll away if this is sensitive to you. I guess implied female ( Only implied with the nickname "Nee" meaning older sister in Japanese, however the pronouns are they/them )
Synopsis : Y/n Sosogi, someone who has many troubles, even as a child. Growing up, she had a hard time trusting others, and takes everything to heart. Their encounter with a certain someone did not go well.
TWO PARTS !! [1] [2]
BACKSTORY
"Congratulations on your delievery, Mrs. Sosogi!" The nurse of Sanno Hospital exclaims, a bright smile plastered on her face as she hands the recently cleaned newborn baby, the mother smiles in contentment, pure love and affection portrayed on her face, she turns and faced her husband, "Our perfect Y/n." She mutters in exhaustion, she flashes her husband a smile of fatigue, and yet she felt like she was on cloud nine. Her husband could only laugh in adore, caressing his wife's head, his lips brushing on her forehead, delicately pressing his lips, and releasing a few seconds later.
"Oi, brat." Ashitaka Sosogi, Yn Sosogi's older brother. The child looks up at their older brother, their brows furrowing, "You know, your name doesn't fit you at all." Y/n says, Ashitaka's eyebrows rise, and furrows, "Y'know this is why I call you damn bra-" "Ashitaka!" The boy gets cut off by their father, who was in the dining table drinking his coffee, the fresh aroma of grilled fish takes over the children's noses, whipping their heads to the direction of their mother. "Yaki zakana!" The siblings say in sync, and the parents laughing.
Y/n has grown up and it is their first year in elementary class. "Ah look at ya, all grown up." Ashitaka says with a smug yet proud grin- however, as the child Y/n is, they had assumed that their older brother was teasing them yet again, and so they pouted, and scoffed. "Yer so annoying!" Y/n says, crossing their arms and looking away, "Oh c'mon don't give me that face, Nee." He says, fixing the collar of the 6 year old child, and patting their head. "Don't be afraid, okay? It can be scary sometimes." Ashitaka says, pointing at the child, Y/n firmly nodded, a determined look on their face. "I won't be scared! I'm grown!" They say, putting their hands on their hips, striking a proud pose.
On the first day of the child, they had cowered behind their older brother, seeing the amount of people entering the school was extremely overwhelming for the child, Ashitaka turns around, looking down, and grinning, "I thought ya aren't afraid, Nee?" He says, his hands planting over the child's head, and gently ruffling it, the child shakes their head, removing their older brother's hand off, "I-I'm not scared!" The child exclaims, running ahead, then stopping, turning around to face their brother, as the child looks at their brother, their forehead scrunches, and they pout, Ashitaka's brows raising, then covering his mouth as an attempt to conceal his laugh. "I-I don't wanna go.." said the weeping child, sniffling.
"Ashitaka! Why didn't you pick me up?!" Yelled the child, Ashitaka hurriedly ran down the steps, "Isn't it way too early for your dismissal?!" He exclaims, running to the child, "I told you, didn't I? It's the last day of school so they'd dismiss us early!" They exclaim, looking up at their brother, Akitashi sighs and kneels in front of them, placing both hands on their shoulder, and looking at them, "I'm sorry, Nee. I got caught up with school works." He says, however his eyes portrayed stress, Y/n had picked that up, "Ashikata, are you okay?" The child asks, Ashitaka smiles, "I'm alright, Nee." He says, rubbing her head. "I'll be okay."
"I'm sorry, Nee. I'm so sorry." Ashitaka apologized and apologized, trying to comfort his younger sibling who was crying, "Don't leave.." They say in between their tears and silent sobs, their older brother was leaving for college, and then plans on going pro-athlete. "Take care of mom for me, okay? She's been struggling recently." He says, placing his younger siblings fringes aside, then hugging them. "I'm sorry that papa hasn't been taking care of us, Nee. I promise I'll visit, okay?" He says, exhaling, the child weeps, and weeps, refusing to let go of their older brother, or rather, their father figure. "Don't leave.."
the now 10 year old child has grown up, after their brother's departure from the house, they've been less lively. Not to mention, the Sosogi family has drastically gotten worse, it's as if Ashitaka was the one who pieced the pieces together. As y/n was walking through the halls of their house, she heard a thud in their mother's room, they turned their head to their mother's room, and walks to the direction of the room. Knocking once, and then twice, they call out to their mother, "Mama?" They say, their hand slowly moving to the doorknob and then slowly opened the door. However, the sight they are about to see is something that'll horrify them until they grow old.
seeing the hanging form of their mother, their eyes widen and slowly back away, their heel tripping over the uneven floorboards. Were there always uneven floorboards in their house? Y/n never noticed. Ashitaka and their mother would always carry them down, they didn't realize that they've been neglecting everything they've done. Their heart drops, they quickly stand on their feet, and screamed; "Papa!"
ever since that day, everything fell down. Their father has turned into an alcoholic, constantly trying to shut out the memories of seeing his wife hung from the ceiling and swaying back and fourth, due to his addiction in alcohol, he has been neglecting his child's health, he has failed to notice how his child has been going through things, he has failed to noticed how he has been mentally abusing his child with his new wife, and yet, he refuses to ask for his child's forgiveness, he refuses to atone for his mistakes of choosing his occupation, almost completely abandoning his family. Now that his former wife and oldest child is gone, all he has left is his child- what was his child's name again? Oh, the guilt he feels, the suffocation of not being able to remember any details of his youngest child, oh how he wishes he could've turned back the time he's rejected the offers of going out with his family. He didn't even know that his youngest child was now 13.
13, was the age of Y/n Sosogi, it has been 4 years since their brother has left, and has never visited yet. Their father, not even their step-mother came to their graduation, leaving their classmates make harsh comments. On the day of their graduation, should be the most memorable, but it was the most humiliating day of their life.
"Papa, I'm off.." Said Y/n, placing the strap of their bag around their right shoulder, hearing the lack of response, she looked up, and saw their father on the ground, steady, not breathing. Their breathe hitches, and they drop their bag. Why is this happening to them? Why is everyone leaving them? "M-Mom!"
15. That's how old Y/n has grown, friendships, family, relationships, why didn't they last? Why did everything go wrong for them? Are they the problem? Were they not good enough for the Gods, not satisfied? They've never done anything wrong. Today, was their first day in high school, in Inarizaki High.

cliche I know, but handholding bonrin?
Thanks for the ask!! I went somewhere a bit different with it, but I hope you enjoy! This takes place during the festival arc.
(。^^。)⸝♡♡⸜(。••。)
The problem was that Ryuuji didn’t even know her name.
Well, there were probably several problems, but that was the first and biggest one for him.
He didn’t know her name, and he had never confessed it to anyone, not even Konekomaru, that he had never actually felt the desire to go on a date. To go to a dance to be close instead of just spending time with his friends, or to hold someone’s hand for any reason other than not getting separated, or to lean in (down, because everyone was shorter than him) and give someone a kiss.
That one was probably the strangest. He could see an appeal in some kinds of dancing as it being a fun form of exercise or close to hugging, but the feelings that went with it just weren’t really there for him. All the other things people went nuts over really didn’t apply to him and were mostly a mystery. Even finding out from Shima that people meant hot a bit literally had baffled him. Why should attraction make you feel warm?
It wasn’t the first time he’d been pursued despite never giving any sort of sign that it was welcome or would be reciprocated in any way. He’d had people ask him out from almost the beginning and he’d had people bring him Valentines since he was in grade school.
He had seen people get angry or embarrassed, but he had never seen someone cry.
She did so almost immediately. He gave his normal, “I’m sorry, but I’m not interested in a date right now,” spill, and she’d stepped back, gripped the small package of candies she’d brought him (the kind he never ate because they always seemed to give him a migraine) and before he could really realize what was happening, she was sobbing. Ryuuji immediately jolted in shock and reached out to help and try to stop it, with no idea how to do so.
He had never made someone cry from this. He didn’t know what to do to make it better. Saying yes wasn’t an option because that would make it worse when he didn’t return any of her advances and didn’t keep this up.
“I—” he stuttered, entirely out of his depths and feeling like his heart was breaking with guilt, “it’s—I’m gay!”
He wasn’t. (At least not that he knew. He was nothing as far as he could tell.) It was just better than the crying, and he almost never lied, but maybe this one wouldn’t hurt.
The girl looked up from her hand, still crying more than not, and sniffed dramatically. “You are?”
“Yes,” Ryuuji lied again. “It’s not something I share.” It wasn’t something that was likely true. Ryuuji, whatever he was, seemed to be alone.
“I’m sorry,” the girl apologized, sniffing, and that irritated something in Ryuuji. He wasn’t gay, but it was rude to apologize for the way someone else felt. “I didn’t know.”
The anger dissolved as quickly as it had come, and that brief and poor choice of words was probably the reason he didn’t see a dark-haired boy ducking back around the corner with a shocked expression and a slight blush before he was covering his face with his hands and trying to get his excited and hopeful tail to still.
——♡(´・ω・)(・ω・`)♡——
Ryuuji was sitting under an old oak while he tried to finish his third essay for Demon Pharmaceuticals (Yukio had to be upset about something with the amount of work he was giving out) and was thinking he needed to get some food because he was starving.
“Hey!”
Rin’s cheery voice had him looking up, squinting a bit as his strained eyes refocused, and nodding in acknowledgement.
“Hey, Okumura.”
Rin gave a small wiggle Ryuuji recognized as meaning his tail was trying to wag where wit was hidden under his shirt, and sat down. Ryuuji raised an eyebrow as a small smile started to lift his lips.
“You need help with homework?” Ryuuji asked, thinking Rin wasn’t likely to have started on this essay yet, but might be working on the previous one.
Rin shook his head and set a bottle of tea and a yakisoba bun on the table before sliding it towards Ryuuji.
“You skipped lunch,” he explained. “Figured you’d be hungry.”
Ryuuji grinned properly and reached for it. “Thanks! I was late getting out and knew there wasn’t a shot of getting there in time to get anything affordable.”
It was still warm. Or Rin had warmed it up for him. (That was more likely now that Ryuuji was thinking about it.) The warmth always made the flavors come through more vibrantly and he’d gone through half of it without even noticing. He blushed a bit when he did notice and made himself slow down and look up.
Rin was beaming and it was hard not to smile back at him. He had a great smile and Ryuuji hadn’t really gotten to see him today. It wasn’t a day they had a shared Cram Class.
“I um, wanted to ask you something?” Rin said after a moment. “I… would you like to go to the concert together?”
Ryuuji stilled in utter shock. Of all the conversations they’d have, he would never have expected that one.
“What?”
Rin swallowed, and Ryuuji realized Rin was blushing, quite a lot, and that his hair had the slightest glitter of flames in it.
“I want to go to the concert with you.” He said, like it wasn’t shocking and he hadn’t been asking most every girl and gotten super excited about the possibility of going out with Shiemi. (And got excited about trying on a regular basis.)
“Me? Since when?”
Rin blushed all the more. “Since the hairclip? I just didn’t think… I didn’t know you were gay.”
Ryuuji blinked and realized that of course people gossiped. That was probably everywhere. He was going to have to figure out how to turn guys down too now. Great.
“I don’t… I’m not. I didn’t know what to do and she was crying and I just said the first thing I could think of.”
Rin flushed all the more and seemed to wilt. “Oh. Shit. Sorry. Just, uh, forget I said—”
“I’m not straight either. I don’t…”
He didn’t think he was anything. He’d never really looked into it. He’d fit in fine when he was younger and then it seemed like everyone was doing something he hadn’t been told about and that entire world had left him behind and confused.
Rin looked up again, seeming curious now. “You’re ace?”
“I don’t know.” He frowned, curious. “Did you actually want to go out with me? Or did you just want a date?”
He’d never actually thought about going out with a guy. He’d have fun hanging with Rin. More fun than going with a stranger. At least as long as Rin didn’t expect a lot more than what they usually did. (Not only did Ryuuji seem to be missing most of what his friends got, he also had no idea what dates even really entailed. Everyone seemed to only be trying to get as far as they could and that wasn’t appealing.)
Rin looked a bit insulted. “Yeah I want to go out with you. Not just a date. I like you Suguro. You’re cool and funny and smart and determined. You’re fun to be around and I like competing with you. Of course I wanna go out with you.”
Something warm and strange seemed to spread in Ryuuji’s chest. He liked the specificity of that. That it was him Rin was seeing and not just another person to ask out. He liked Rin, and he found Rin fun to hang out with and compete with and Rin drove him crazy in so many ways, but he knew he could trust Rin, and he knew Rin trusted him, and Rin would call him out when he was being an ass and listen when Ryuuji said he was, and Rin was earnest and loyal, and Ryuuji was starting to think he’d just found a strange new idea.
“I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable. You can just, uh, forget I asked? Forget any of this happened?”
Ryuuji shook his head. “No.”
Rin scowled. “Why not?”
Ryuuji pulled the tea closer and broke the seal with a strangely loud noise as Rin watched him. “I’m going to keep getting asked,” he decided with a frown as he twisted the lid off the rest of the way. “It’s gonna keep happening and I’m tired of it and I don’t want to make anymore people cry. So…”
He took a sip, wondering if this was actually a stupid idea, but he’d rather do this with the promise of actually having fun than keep saying no or crumble under the pressure of some stranger crying and making him feel like a monster.
“I’d go with you, if you’re serious. I can’t… I don’t know what I am, or if I can like you, but it’d be fun.” He looked at Rin over the top of the tea – the brand he drank the most and the type that was supposed to help with migraines and one you could only get at a specific vending machine at this level of the Academy, but one Rin had brought him because he’d noticed that. “If that’s okay with you, then let’s do it.”
Rin narrowed his eyes like he was trying to sniff out a trap, which was rude and made Ryuuji scowl a little, but he held his tongue.
“On a date?”
“I don’t know anything about them. But sure. Just know I—”
“You’re not all feely,” Rin interrupted and flapped his hand like that wasn’t what he was concerned with. “That’s fine. I can try and woo my princess,” he gave Ryuuji a big and toothy grin that made Ryuuji’s entire face feel hot.
“I’m not a princess!”
Rin grinned all the wider. “Don’t get your skirt twisted, princess. I’m gonna be all romantical and no hard feelings if it doesn’t work, okay?”
Ryuuji grumbled but nodded. “Deal.”
Rin stuck his hand out as he stood up, holding it out to Ryuuji like he wanted him to shake it and seal the deal, so Ryuuji did, and found himself entirely confused when Rin took his hand and shifted to sit next to Ryuuji, not giving his hand back. Just holding it in his own warm hand, sitting close enough that Ryuuji could feel the heat of him and peering down at Ryuuji’s Demon Pharmaceuticals homework.
“Shit,” he asked like it wasn’t weird to snag someone’s hand. (Wasn’t it?) “Did we have homework?”
Ryuuji laughed and shoved the book towards Rin. “Yeah, another essay.”
“Another?! We had one?!”
(Ryuuji’s hand was still being held, and he’d never realized how Rin’s hand was calloused. Probably from all the sword drills.)
“We had three.”
“Three?!” Rin looked down at the book horrified. (His hand was smaller than Ryuuji’s. Their fingers fit strangely well together despite that.) “Yukio’s gonna kill me.”
“I’ll help ya out, moron. “
Rin’s smile went all toothy again, enough that his eyes went a bit squinty too, and Ryuuji decided he could use his left hand to finish his own essay. Rin could keep his right one for now.
“Thanks!”
Ryuuji passed Rin a few sheets of paper and a pen and pointed to the first assignment where he’d written the notes for it.
“You take notes for homework?” Rin asked, and snorted. “You’re a nerd, princess.”
“You’re not in a place to judge, ya monkey.”
(His face felt a bit warm, and there was something spreading through his chest he wasn’t quite sure about, but he wasn’t scared and he wasn’t uncomfortable, and it was something he felt might be okay to explore with Rin.
Just without the princess.)
“No,” Ryuuji intercepted, tapping Rin’s hand with his pen. “That’s the wrong word. Check the spelling.”
Rin did and Ryuuji saw his tongue poke out a little in concentration and felt Rin’s leg start to jiggle a little next to his that reminded him of dozens of study sessions like this. Something comfortable and familiar, but the slightest bit different as Rin started to brush his thumb over Ryuuji’s in a steady rhythm that wasn’t distracting, even though it seemed like it should be.
He didn’t know what he was or if he could feel anything like what Rin wanted, but he thought he might be starting to see the appeal in holding someone’s hand.

Salvage Showcase - Korisu Kakitsubata
It's the horror season, and what better way to celebrate than by doing a Showcase on the main 'villain' of Danganronpa Kirigiri Volume 3, and Culprit of the Takeda Haunted Mansion Duel Noir: Korisu Kakitsubata!!!
(Korisu is the left silhouette behind Licorne)
Summary
Korisu was a detective registered in the Detective Library under the DSC of 488, specializing in animal welfare. Like all Victims, Korisu has a traumatic past that influenced her to take up the Duel Noir. Eight year prior to the Duel Noir, Korisu was with her family up on a mountain railway. However, a fire broke out and during Korisu's attempt to escape, she got seperated from her family. Her family, unfortunately, ended up being trapped behind closed emergency exit doors - doors that were shut by Suntetsu Shirasu. Shirasu closed the doors to prevent the smoke from killing more people, but as a result, 28 people (including Korisu's family) who were trapped behind the door, died in the blaze. Suntetsu was never identified or arrested for the incident, and Korisu was left traumatized to the point she heard voices of the victims in her head.
Korisu would be confronted by the Victims Catharsis Committee, and would take up their offer of competing in a Duel Noir. In her case, Korisu planned out the Takeda Haunted Mansion murder. The idea behind it was to lure in Shirasu with three other detectives: Sachi Mizuiyama (her scapegoat), Salvador Fukuro Yadorigi and Hajiki Yaki. Under the guise of the deceased Saiun Takeda, she lured them in with various tip-offs of crime at the manor. Once all five met, Korisu would eventually drug Shirasu to enact her scheme. Hoisting him between two armored warriors, she would set up her locked room case to have a bunch of rubber bands use a katana as a makeshift slingshot to kill her Target. The deed was done as Yui and Kyoko had arrived, with them being only moments away from saving Suntetsu before the blade plunged itself into his back.
During this exchange, Korisu tried to pose as just a vapid, party-gal, woman who didn't have a care in the world. Initially, she seen to have gotten away with her murder as Sachi was initially fingered as the culprit. But, to her downfall, this was a trap set up by Kyoko - catching Korisu back at the crime scene with the intent to destroy any remaining evidence of her misdeeds. Despite Korisu's attempts at trying to refute Kyoko's claims, not only did Kyoko figure out how Korisu's trick worked - she even had proof it was only Korisu that could have done it. The main piece being the fact that, during the murder, Korisu had used the armor sandals to walk outside since Salvador was too busy admiring art out in the hallway for her to safely get her stilleto's back. Unfortunately, given the size of the shoes was too big for the boys and too small for someone as short as Sachi, it was only her that could have used them, and when its clear they were used in the crime, Korisu was stuck as the sole candidate.
Korisu gives up, and admits to doing the Duel Noir to put the voices at rest. However, while initially coolheaded at her defeat, she panics once they saw she's in danger of being executed due to inability to pay the VCC back their earnings. Ultimately, she takes Kyoko's advice to go with the cops to be arrested, though the last shot of her from Yui's POV shows her to clearly still be struggling with the 'voices' returning. In the next volume, while she doesn't appear, she is mentioned by Salvador to be safe since Gekka has paid off her debt, but she'll still be tried for her crimes.
While Korisu acts like an airheaded, flashy, yet bubbly party girl - this is merely a facade. In truth, Korisu is pretty intelligent, lucid, and crafty to the point that she needed to be lured into a trap to expose her since her current set-up lacked real hard hitting evidence to expose her without it. Due to her trauma, Korisu hear the voices of those who perished in the fire's blaze, and was desperate enough to appease them by taking up a VCC. While not being a sore loser, she is terrified of being murdered herself and begs for the girls to save her as she realizes she's doomed to be executed.
Rundown
Being both a Detective and a Victim, Korisu has a few things going for her in regard to the DRK's theme - which I have already pinned as being about Justice & Corruption.
In this case, Korisu is on the side of Corruption, in this case Appeasement of her trauma and another aspect of criticizing the 'greater good' theme in Volume 3 on a whole. On the Greater Good theme first, while like the other Victims, she's motivated by vengeance - it's less hatred based and more so just trying to find some form of peace in her life. As stated before, Korisu had been severely traumatized from her family being roasted to death despite her protests because someone sacrificed them for their perceived 'greater good'. In turn, for the sake of finding closure for the voices, she's willing to not only slay Suntetsu, but also sacrificing someone else's peace for her own safety. In doing so, this puts her about as bad as Suntetsu himself. It also smacks into the Greater Good message that Gekka and Lico usually use to justify their own violent acts, since it shows such a line of thinking is both detrimental towards bystanders and those involved alike, but also winds up leaving new collateral to suffer down a path like Korisu's as well. Ergo sustaining the cycle further.
In terms of the Corruption theme (and her own Drive as a detective), namely Appeasement, Korisu's case is used to show why giving in to vengeance and bloody murder as means of clearing up mental issues, just doesn't work like how Gekka or the VCC think it works. She got her paybck on Suntetsu, yes, but in turn it didn't solve her problem with the voices in her head yelling at her and it certainly wasn't helped by her actual arrest. Even if she won, she was only confused, not satisfied with doing the deed - meaning that in spite of promising relief to the Victims they lure in, at best they only piled on new worries to give them. At worse, if they don't kill them outright, the Victims are left with new trauma and anguish on top of their old wounds. There's is no truly satisfaction to be gained by playing in a Duel Noir and looking for justice. Just tragedy.
In terms of character comparison and contrasts, the immediate one you would think of is Sachi, another Victim and Detective of the 12 Duel Noir Challenge. Both were willing to kill, and even harm innocents, not for their own sakes, but for the sakes of those who, really, couldn't have enjoyed such endeavors or approved of them, even if they really wanted to. Both Korisu's family and Gekka were dead by the time their Duel Noirs started. As such, their actions proved only to harm themselves in the long run with no real benefits. In terms of demeanor, they're kind of the polar opposite of each other in, even if their end goals are roughly the same. Korisu acts immature to hide the fact she's smarter than she appears, while Sachi portrays herself as a composed detective, to hide how much of a zealot she was for Gekka. In terms of scale, Korisu was hard focus on her own personal trauma, whilst Sachi's love for Gekka had her disregard even her own Catharsis for the sake of seeing him thrive in the VCC.
Of course, I'd also be remiss to not add in how much Korisu reflects on Junko Enoshima. Both being fashionista types that people would never suspect of masterminding intricate murders. Although the biggest difference between the two is that Korisu is ultimately doing her misdeeds as a form of closure, while Junko is working towards a goal of constant open despair.
Personal Thoughts
Korisu makes for a fine, 'final boss' of volume 3. Give the chaotic nature of the book in setting up the 12 Duel Noir Challenge, the battle at Meyura Station, Lico, one would think the actual Duel Noir Victim just wouldn't hit as well as Tadashi or Sae, but she's proved me wrong.
She's extremely entertaining play up the bratty fashion dive and love that the antagonist for this time around tried for the Junko Enoshima manner of villainess. It also helps her motivation is extremely compelling and makes her quite sympathetic as to why she'd work with the VCC. This is a high praise, especially when you consider how Vol. 4 and 5 treated the remainder of the Zodiac Victims.
Of course, beyond that, it also makes me sad volume 3 would be her only real appearance, but I was at least glad that she fulfilled her role properly. Beyond that, I loved the Takeda Haunted Mansion she set up and how it filled well with the ideas of her being haunted by her own past, and using it to take vengeance on Suntetsu (even if trying to wrap my head around the murder method was a real killer X_X)
Ultimately, for what it's worth, Korisu was a nice stopping point to end Vol 3 out on (besides Yui visiting Kyoko's home of course) and remains a favored of mine among the DRK cast!
-
With this out of the way, up next is DR Togami!! Be a while until then so if you have anyone you'd like to see talked about before it gets posted, feel free to recommend!

Despe:
Wato's not a bad guy or anything
He's a good guy.
We just aren't compatible.
Zayne:
Maybe you have to become a good person
Let's eat sweets together, that'll cheer you up
Despe:
I can't become a good person
I am who I am, and that shows no signs of changing
Let's eat sweets together
Zayne:
I want to try new types of Japanese sweets
I could be bribed with sweets into becoming a bad guy.
Sorry, Wato-san
Despe:
Oban-yaki, koban-yaki, kaiten-yaki, gozasoro, ajiman, taiko-yaki, or even imagawa-yaki, I'll treat you to whichever one you want
(note from me: Desperado is trying to play a little trick on him - these are different regional names for what is essentially all the same dessert)
Zayne:
As long as it's delicious, whichever name you want to call it is fine by me.
Despe:
You're smart aren't you lol
Zayne:
I'm always doing my research

Is yaki a jerk with a heart of gold? Veciase she seems quite grumpy but with good reason.
oo Yaki ask. Are you the person who asked me Yaki questions before? I just found them all sitting in my inbox omg, I'm sorry for not answering them 😭
Yaki's canon personality is simply complex. She estranged herself from her family because she wanted to kill one of them after being in a mental prison for millions of years and learning that a supernatural murderer is coming after them all. She took in a stranger who was sitting in the rain. She refused to engage with Shintaro because she thought he didn't have anything to do with her problems. She wanted to save everyone, except Marry. She tried to manipulate her little brother that she knew dearly loved her to kill their little sister. She changed her mind and decided that she wants to save everyone, except herself.
And now she's not even human anymore, and her only point of contact is a boy she fell in love with only days after meeting him, when he's dead, and he never, ever remembers who she is when they meet. And he doesn't even know her as her, but as a mirror of someone else.
So uh. Actually based on her dialogue I wouldn't call her a "jerk with a heart of gold" though you can still get some vibes of that from scenes when she's human. As a snake, though, I would call her more like a "cryptic know it all" LOL. In the manga, novel and anime, in most of her scenes she asks Shintaro to remember her and is very mysterious about it, but she also seems to be enjoying herself, for some reason. Maybe that's just because she's happy to see him.

Ride 720.5: Hayatani-san wants to observe
Pag 1
1: At Sohoku High School
It's lunch break!!
Three anpan!
Here, your change is 40 yen
Hurry up!!
2: There is a school store!!
Ohh, do you remember? Look, this store's.... that's right!! I'm Hayatani Yuuko (44)!!
They still have a special yaki!!
3: Yes
Yees
Here, your change is 100 yen
Amazing, she's so fast!!
Ah!! But in my heart I'm 24 years old!! Day after day I quickly hand bread to satsify the hungry students' stomaches!!
4: I keep a close eye both on the bread and the students' movements
The Thousand-armed Kannon Yuuko is kind to everyone!!
Boy, guve that bread to that girl, please
Thank you so much!
5: During lunch break the store is so chaotic, but
Alright, the melon bread is sold out!
Do you have the cocoa bread?
Pag 2
1: Other times are unexpectedly free
2: Between second and thrid period, when the sunlight hits just right, it feels so good
Ahh, I wonder what song is tha5
3: You seriously have never eaten daifuku at that store, Sugimoto-san!?
It's because I'm not close to it, my class is on the other side
4: I'll buy it this time, really!
You said this the other day too
Ah, the boy with orange hair from the bicycles team
At that time I get read for lunch break while watching the students
5: It's the boy who always comes to get a “special yaki life”
6: I always buy more!! But then I eat it before I give it to you!!
…. yeah yeah
7: The boy noext to him is in the bicycles team too, like Naruko-kun
Pag 3
1: Maybe he brings a lunch box? He never comes to buy bread, but he comes to buy stationery....
Do you have.... uhm, the sharp lead for a mechanical pen?
The 0.5mm B ones... next week the first years students have their first exams, so I want them to be prepared
2: He seemed like a polite and reliable guy
I wonder if he a third year already...
3: Right now, his back definitely looks like that of a senpai taking good care of his kouhai
Then let's go together this time, together
Yeah!!
So you can't eat it yourself on the way, right?
Yeah, Sugimoto-san you're a genius!
4: Yo
Ah, Imaizumi
Imaizumi-san
Listen, now with Sugimoto-san...
5: Do we put these components on the desk in the clubroom?
Yeah, thank you
6: Ah.... I know that boy too, he's so tall....
7: I'm sure....
Excuse me
Pag 4
1: May I ask? Do you have a clear A4 holder?
He's Sohoku's bicycles racing team captain, Imaizumi-kun!!
2: As expected, the aura of the two times national champion is on another level
Hayatani-san guessed it wrong
3: I have it, an holder for A4 documents
He has to callect the club's documents, since he's the captain
He's not the captain though
4: You're going this year too? To the nationl competition
6: You mean the Inter High?
That's right!!
Pag 5
1: We still have the qualifiers to do
So we can't say anything, but we plan to go – me, Naruko
2: and our captain Onoda!!
4: He.... people usually tend to think that he's strange and unreliable, and he himself said “maybe I should show a more dignified attitude to the first years”
But during practice his eyes are really different
Huh?
Huh!?
Huh!?
5: “Captain”?
But? Isn't that you!?
6: He himself doesn't realize it, and that's why everyone follows him
Pag 6
1: I think we're going, to the Inter High!!
Because it's like he's making “promises” with all sorts of guys!!
And he's the kind of guy who will do his everything to keep a promise
2: Onoda!!
Pag 7
1: No no, you mean you're Onoda-kun!?
Huh!? Imaizumi-kun!? No, I got it wrong, Onoda-kun is a boy wearing glasses!!
2: The boy that won two times in a row and that Naruko-kun said it's the captain!!
3: Ehiii!
4: Imaizumi-kun
5: Ah, the first year with the pretty smile from the other day... no, he's a third year!
6: Ah, you know him?
I gave him bread when he needed it the other day
Imaizumi-kun, you know him too?
Yeah, he's....
Pag 8
1: Kya-!
Our capt-
2: Don't fall over for nothing
So-sorry, Imaizumi-kun
He gave him a hand right away, eh... he's so nice
4: Ehi! You really have lots of amazing friends!!
7: Yes!!
8: They announced a new season of Love Hime!
Ehh...
9: Ah... I failed to catch that boy's name once again
Hayatani-san was still looking forward to “meet” Onoda

summary:
Y/N, a dedicated psychology student, crosses paths with Rukawa, a talented basketball player whose reserved nature often conceals his true thoughts and emotions

Y/N POV
It feels like my life is always in the movie Inside Out, asking, 'What’s going on in their mind?' As a psychology student, we often study the different personas of a person.
Looking down on the window beside me on the second floor of the building is the men's basketball team doing their morning jog in the field.
Right. I saw fatigue on their faces: they were panting, some were entertaining themselves, just like the one with red hair, while others were talking to each other. However, there was one person at the back who showed no emotion at all.
Surprised by how our eyes met, I unconsciously made a 'hm' sound that caught the attention of my professor in front of the class.
"Are you okay there, L/N-san?" the professor asked me.
"hai. Sumimasen" (Sorry)
"I know the weather makes you guys doze off, but you have to pay attention now since the exam is coming up."
Anyways, please read what's on the board, L/N-san"
-
Lunch time
I can hear a thin, loud voice belonging to a red-haired man placing an order at the cafeteria, even from my current spot amidst the loud chatter of students since it’s lunchtime. Perhaps it’s because I’m the eighth person in line after him.
"Obachang, one curry rice, miso soup, and please add korokke and yaki imo as my side dish. Ah, Ah, 1 order of katsudon as well andddd Milk."
"Wow, that's an appetite". My friend, Airi Nakamura, said.
"Sure, it is. I think he's part of basketball team, I saw him earlier doing their morning jog". I said.
But suddenly, his 4 other friends came in to disturb the hungry redhead, causing a huge commotion in line that made everyone in front of me lose their balance backward.
I knew I was about to fall since i'm the last in line when I noticed that I was leaning against someone.
"Y/N are you -"
I opened my eyes just to see how shocked Aira was. I quickly stand and turned.
Tall. Around 6 foot. With black hair somehow reaching his eyes. Broad shoulders. With deep ocean blue eyes. Wearing an emotionless face.
Mesmerizing.
I can hear the voices around me.
Rukawa-kun!
AH so handsome! He's so tall!
What the hell? She can't just touch Rukawa like that!"
AAAAHHHH she touched rukawa!
"Sumimasen" I bowed to the person in front of me.
"Iie" He replied. No emotions at all.
The thin-loud voice entered the scene again.
"OI Rukawa, you make sure to eat a lot because I will beat you later! Nyahahaha" the redhead said.
"Urusai. Do Ahou"
"Oi Hanamichi, get out there now so we can order" A shorter man at the back of Rukawa said.
I turned my self back to Airi.
"OI, u okay?"
"Oh. So chaotic group of people" I whispered and laugh
She went beside me and clung to my right arm.
"Girl! What prayer you got there? AHHH you just had a moment with Rukawa" Squishing my arm while shouting in a whisper.
"Huh?" Confused.
"You don't know him? That's Rukawa Kaede. He is the ace of the basketball team of our school. Look around you now, the fangirls are now killing you with their eyes"
"Anone, rukawa-kun, this is for you"
"This one as well for your dessert"
"This is for you as well, Rukawa-kun" the students, shy, approached him then dash after.
Well, from my peripheral view, he accepted the foods from his fangirls. Which is...kind, but he shows no emotions at all. I cannot tell if he liked it, irritated or flattered. I can't, because the boy has a stoic face.
I thought he is going to turn down the offer from his fangirls but surprisingly, he didn't. I thought.
I hear the sounds of teasing aimed at Rukawa coming from my back.
"This guy right here is really a girl magnet."
"Oi Rukawa, leave some to Mitsui-san"
"You have to save something for Miyagi as well if Ayako rejected him"
"NO, thanks. Ayako-chan is enough for me. You can give your leftovers to Mitsui-san"
"Orusai!"
His deep voice sends shivers down my spine as he silences the two.
Rukawa Kaede, huh?
"Looks normal to me"
"Huh? You saying something?" Airi asked.
"Nandemonai" (Nothing)
That's the last thing I said before the staff in the cafeteria asked for our orders.
Meanwhile Rukawa's eyes took a last glance to the girl in front before she got her order and leave.

Wait a moment...
If everything happened exactly the same as the serie except that the boys were sendokai warriors until adults. That means they all broke up as planned in the first season?
If that happened, I would like to know how they all met again after so many years
Here's a few author's notes to make the concept of this AU a bit more clear!
The main idea is based on the question ''What If our protagonists were recruited by Tampo at a different time of their lives?'' in this case rather than recruiting a bunch of 14 year old middle school kids, he recruits those same people but as really tired and slighly gloomy college students, which means they weren't involved in saving the galaxy in their highschool years. So the big events in the show (becoming Sendokai warriors , competing in the tournament, saving the galaxy etc etc) still happen, the only difference being that the senkuns are older when the whole thing happens.
Other differences/changes:
-Zak, Kiet, Cloe, and Fenzy have known each other since middle school. However, they don't meet Lon until after the supposed events of season one.
-They meet Lon at a concert that gets attacked by a Yaki
-None of the senkuns are initially interested in soccer whatsoever
-Zak is a communist (based on a inside joke I have with a moot, roll with it) and openly queer in a small spanish town. Take that as you will.
-Cloe asks Zak to pose for her next painting instead of asking him out to the movies.
-Fenzy's conflict is more centered around her relationship with her mother.
-The love triangle between Cloe,Zak and Lon is ACTUALLY a love triangle (Zak has a crush on Cloe since they were 16, Cloe has a horrible time processing her emotions but she has had unrecognized feelings for Zak for a while, Zak feelings for Lon are complicated,Lon has that same weird freudian feelings he has for Zak in the show mixed in with really cryptid love confessions (telling him to Die) , Lon and Cloe are each other's Manic Pixie Dream Girl.)
-Lon really really really REALLY fucking likes The Smiths (trust me this is crucial to his character.)
-Cloe's character arc is one of learning to put herself before others by overcoming her insecurities.
-Every single senkun is queer and neurodivergent in one way or another (because that's how friendgroups really are irl)
Career paths:
Zak: Philosophy student (unemployed)
Cloe: Law student-> later on decides to be honest with herself and leave the course to study Art (employed: barista in a cafe)
Fenzy: Biotechnology student (unemployed)
Kiet: Programming student (employed: volunteer at a nursing home AND cashier at a Gamestop)
Lon: Solo electronic keyboard musician (freelancer)

How do the fankids rank in their ability to cook?
In general, the watchpoint kids are better than cooking than the Talon kids, because the watchpoint kids are in this funky communal situation where pretty much everyone has to work in the mess hall at one point or another. But they do end up developing different specialties and favorite things to cook!
Rei has a lot of her dad's proclivities for comfort food with seasoning informed by his travels--Yaki-Onigiri stuffed with lentil curry, ramen piled high with aaaaallll the fixings, that kind of stuff. But she also has probably a higher tolerance than most for her mom's low-effort health foods like overnight oats and muesli.
Jaime was stuck eating gluten-free hypoallergenic goop with Vishkar, and during the time he spent homeless, he became dependent on the day-old bread being thrown out by a Gibraltar bakery, so his chief passion in the kitchen is crusty sourdough bread. It's like... the only thing he has in common with Widowmaker aside from both being snipers. They're the bread team.
Samir is probably the least-cooking oriented. He has a great palate, but he's more likely to be working on logistical stuff than have mess hall duty. Still, he's got like... 3 sheet pan dinner go-to's that are basically impossible to mess up, and you can bet he'll be at his laptop while the food's in the oven.
One-eye be damned, my boy Rajeev can work a grill.
Marti can cook some basic no-frills dishes for a crowd, but what she really likes cooking are desserts. Her favorites are flans and cheesecakes with fruity coulis. She likes the pretty drizzles :).
Akasha is a little too self conscious to really go the whole nine yards with cooking, but she is the prep and Mise en Place queen. You need something chopped? She's your girl. You want your spice blend all measured out and tiny-whisked? She's on it. Just... please, for the love of god, give her a recipe. Don't ask her to improvise.
The ironic thing about Aedan is that he probably cooked the most out of all the Talon kids, and he's the one who ended up defecting. He's probably the most improvisational out of the whole bunch, tastes as he goes and is very good at figuring out what to add when and what the dish needs, and he was also heavily influenced by the Middle Eastern seasonings of Oasis.
Faustine never really cooks for herself, she's got chefs for that, but she's also not a depression meal kind of person. She can put together pretty cheeseboards for herself and of course her pantry is stocked with lots of bougie noshables and fresh produce. She's not a cook, she's a grazer.
Andrea will look you in the eye while eating a completely raw unseasoned block of firm tofu.
Seye does cook for himself, but he really cooks more for function than enjoyment, which is a shame, because I feel like Doomfist does take the time to luxuriate with food and drink in a "It's good to be the king" kind of way, but Seye is fighting for his life literally every minute of the day, so he has no chill and is obsessed with macros. Like, yeah, dude, putting oatmeal in your morning protein shake will give you the carbs to fuel your workout but is it really worth the grittiness? And you're having roasted chicken breast with just some berbere seasoning and lemon juice over brown rice and wilted kale again? When was the last time you had thighs??? You're going to make me cry.

CoAi moments in DetCo games (part two)
cont from my last post
This time the game I'm going to be covering is The Great Deduction of Three People. In this game you can actually play as Ai! Conan takes a more supporting role while the main case is deducted by Haibara. Unfortunately she doesn't have a sprite in this one (takes a narrator vn approach) but like the other game, there is full voice acting, animated sprites provided by TMS.
worth noting that this game takes place before haibara's development with the detective boys. so she's still cold, standoffish a little and ayumi still refers to her as "haibara-san".
since this is basically Haibara Chapter i'll do extremely brief context summaries per moment since the japanese for the case itself is too complicated for me to understand lol
For Context, the detective boys + hakase go to a glass case model exhibit recreating what edo period architecture and life. theyre at edo town museum, where there is a robbery that had taken place.
the opening cutscene is a cute cutscene—the DB all ride conan's skateboard with him but crash except haibara who was just walking lol. she is the POV you play as. the banter between coai immediately starts with their iconic snark to snark behaviour.
as they go in and observe the exhibits, conan asks her for her opinion
after the case figures are introduced, the kids get to see a glimpse of a super secret exhibit briefly—a scroll. haibara feels strange about it.
conan's voice here is really soft (and concerned).
the burglary happens, and haibara is the only one to notice the changes. seemingly there is nothing wrong with the case, but she has a feeling the real and the fake have been swapped. she freaks out a little, thinking it's related to the b.o
the reason that haibara investigates on her own is because she thinks the B.O have a possibility of being involved (since the case involves some wine references LOL). she seperates from the group to ask the case figures a few questions.
she later notices conan is gone heh. but she decides to press forward, and overhears a conversation between two men. but stuff go south when she's noticed, and guess who saves the his wife?
he saves her from being shot and the criminals run away. they go after them, but a series of events happen and the lose the perp. the dude above gets run over and they have to send him to hospital, but in the event he drops the scroll that was stolen earlier. haibara deciphers the scroll, and it leads her to some place, but its just 1 lead. she wants to go investigate it on her own, but the gang find out and insist on tagging along.
conan and ai very sweetly have this exchange
despite his sprite, his voice is actually so sweet. slightly hushed, gentle and reassuring. it's enough to make haibara cave.
conan helps haibara decipher the map by attaching a modern day map, revealing some clues related to the four asian mythological creatures. genta makes a comparison to food and somehow that sticks because the gang literally just start going on a food tour (its because the locations on the map point to, literally, food stores). conan even lets haibara decide where they go.
"oi haibara, you decide where we go."
the player is actually who decides where they go.
they go to ningyo yaki (a type of wagashi, and it has sponge cake texture with red bean filling).
genta: "ooooo, delicious. i can eat so many bro"
monjayaki:
haibara: "so this is monjayaki... this is the first time i've ever had it"
doujo yaki
genta: "oooh, it's here! let's eat!"
ayumi gets nervous about being served live food, and u can choose to make haibara freak her out here or console her. the LP chose freak her out, and she insists conan eats her share LOL
after all 3 visits you have the option to go back to one of the places. in the background of the monjayaki stop, you can actually see shiratori and sato in the background, which the kids choose to talk to them on while they eat their fourth meal of the day LOL they absolutely get No information other than the fact that they disrupted their lunch but it advances the plot
they do some investigating for three more places. theres a festival, with some suspicious ass looking dudes, and you can choose to just run (and investigate elsewhere) or ignore them. ignoring them advances the plot
anyway a few more shenanigans happens until haibara figures out the map and what the symbols mean (GO QUEEN!!!!!). at some point she gets a gun to her head by the perp (AND IS CRAZY CHILL ABOUT IT) but then conan, genta and mitsuhiko save her lol
they do some more investigating which eventually leads them to a warehouse
"WHOA, IT REALLY WAS THERE!!!!"
after conan gives haibara some context (there has been some robberies in the area), a bunch of steel planks start falling
no one gets hurt, and this is actually the moment haibara says her theory.
if you get it wrong, the culprit gets away. haibara's voice is quiet, almost disappointed in herself, and conan gently says it seems like your deduction was wrong, in a very forgiving and sweet way as if to console her lol. and then you can try again
they use the crane to catch the perp. sato and shiratori and take him away, and alls well ends well. conan and ai have this exchange
despite his sprite, his voice is pretty serious here. worried. concerned <3
since i cant add anymore images, haibara responds with
"well, i can't tell you that if i dont have obvious concrete proof" "especially in front of mr-rushing-headfirst-into-danger...." "eh?"
conan tells haibara that he didn't find anything related to the B.O about the perp that just got arrested, and haibara says she expected that. to add, he sweetly says this
haibara: "wow, coming from mr great detective, that's high praise" haibara: "well, if you ever come across a case you can't solve, you can always consult me" conan: "heh, i wasn't complimenting you that far."
the closing cutscene is sato taking the kids out for dinner, and then calling takagi to help her pay for the amount of food these kids ordered LMFAO
but conan and ai have one final exchange during it
(while takagi is mourning his wallet)
haibara: "well, the cold reality of adult circumstances" conan: (chuckle) "as always, cool and collected. by the way, what was up with you today? you didn't seem yourself." haibara: "hmm? what do you mean, i was the same as usual." conan: "where? you were oddly overbearing and nosy today." haibara: "really? then i must have caught it from a certain someone." conan: "huh? and who is this certain someone?" haibara: "who knows? why don't you think about it and figure it out, mr great detective?" conan: "huh?"
ANYWAY FOR MY CLOSING THOUGHTS
seeing someone haibara solve the mystery and lead conan along is the roleswap au that i need. and this is, in its own way, canon!
#neesan texto#coai musings#this is again more of a self reference for myself lol#i want to redraw some scenes from this game tbh its SO cute#they were VERY precious
