Saseki was listening, even chuckling at Sengou's antics on the lone Date sword, but right in the middle of it, he started to feel faint. Didn't even have the time to process everything when he eventually collapsed on the taller man.

By the time Sengou had reached the repair room carrying the unconscious sage, Yagen was, fortunately, was exiting the place. The look on the tantou's face indicated that this had happened before, in a much more dire situation than this.

Unfortunately, Ishikirimaru was currently deployed in an expedition and won't be back for another four hours...

Yagen doesn't say anything, just lets Fudou talk the whole entire time despite his remark about him being dense in certain aspects.

He thinks it's rather amusing that Fudou would straight up call him that.

Of course the tantou has always been observant for the most part, seeing some of their comrades expressing certain degrees of affection for one another (moreso the ones exchanged between their master and a certain Shinsengumi sword). Sometimes he catches himself observing it in a way a scientist would, and it's rather...worrisome, sometimes.

To be fair, maybe this is why he takes longer to register that Fudou just straight up flirted with him--or attempted to, given his constant lack of sobriety. But Yagen thinks Fudou doesn't necessarily need to do that to gain his affection.

But it was a good attempt, still. And he does make a good point.

So Yagen just smiles, almost wistfully, and nods.

"Thank you, Fudou. Maybe you're right...there are some things that I'm not too smart in... I still think your attempt was cute, though."
