Omgosh I used to love to travel before I got busy with work too. 2022 Fic Goals

1. Not feel like I need to be constantly writing

This one is on being raised as a gifted kid syndrome. That and capitalism. You know the old “you have to be constantly creating something to be of value” 😬 And that’s part of why I pushed myself to start that fic this December that I knew I didn’t really want to do. So I’m gonna take breaks and write when I wanna write and not feel bad if that means taking time off from fanfiction writing

2. Give my one shots more love

I love love love writing one shots but I think I worry that they won’t do as well as my longer fics so I’m gonna work on just letting some of my one shots live and if I have a silly idea to just write it

Okay, I know this sounds like it contradicts the first one but... sometimes I get in phases where I write like crazy and then I worry if I’m annoying if I’m constantly posting fics, so I wanna work on getting out of my head about that. 

4. Remember that fanfiction is for me 

I mean I do write for y’all and I LOVE hearing what you want to see and what you like about my stuff, but also sometimes I need a little reminder that if I write the thing and I like the thing than that’s what matters (see also former gifted kid syndrome strikes again 😂)

5. Hopefully write my older Wolfstar fic I originally planned for December

It’s going to feature agoraphobic Remus, because I long for that good agoraphobic rep, and tattoo artist and guardian to Harry Sirius. Some of the asks I got raised some good points about the lack of older characters in the fandom and its something I’ve noticed in books to. As someone who is arospec I think I totally feel that whole pressure to meet the love of your life in your twenties and I think it’s silly to enforce that on people. Love has no age.

Tips for the chemical sorting puzzle (HAU)

I decided to make this tutorial because the chemical sorting is without a doubt my #1 most beloved puzzle in the entire series. I look forward to it every time I play HAU and I keep the game installed with a save point right before this puzzle so that I can play it for fun! I am going to share my advice with you all to HOPEFULLY take some of the edge off if you haven’t already been using these methods? Because the slander against this puzzle is outrageous, tbqfh. 😂😂

The key to succeeding at this puzzle is arming yourself with the pre-existing knowledge that I am about to share below the cut, so here you guys go. May it help you see the light (or at the very least, bring you out of the darkness).

First off, you gotta know how big the claw needs to be to grab each sized bottle, and also how close to get to them. Here’s a quick reference chart:

If you’re trying to drag the mechanism that changes the claw size, stOP DOING THAT OH MY GOD PLEASE STOP IT RIGHT NOW, just click on the size you want. You’re on notch 5 but need it closed to notch 3? Click on notch 3. No need to drag it there.

Always use your arrow keys to move, not the on-screen arrows. You can hold down a key (or two keys!) to move faster in one long, swift motion in your direction of choice.

Always keep an image/written reference of which chemical abbreviations go into which category on hand. You will die if u don’t. (unless you have them all memorized like some kind of crazy person...👀 who, me?)

Here’s a visual reference:

After releasing a chemical bottle inside of a category box, you can immediately close the claw again w/o actually moving the claw - this is SUPER helpful if there are any chemicals sitting right outside of the box that you don’t want to risk bumping into.

Also when you’re freely moving the claw around, make sure you keep the claw closed as much as possible. You don’t want those thicc edges to accidentally bump into something.

Remember that once you pick up a chemical you cannot set it back down. So be decisive! This shouldn’t be a problem if you have a reference chart & already know where the chemical belongs! (just... make sure you don’t pick up any Cat. 3 chemicals before you’ve unblocked the path to that box 👀)

I really hope this helps, seriously. Using all of this knowledge in combination I very rarely explode the lab! I hope it works just as well for y’all. 💜 And if you have any questions about it my inbox is open!
