I’ve steadily been here and there attempting the route 4 pokeradar in XY for shiny Skitty, as I’ve seen very few attempts at this shiny in particular likely because there are so many easier ways to go about it. Well, I like a challenge, but OOF this one’s REALLY been hard. (chain of 35… pulls my hair out…)

This drawing’s a bit of a cope and motivation for it. Many (but not all) elements in the drawing show in fours or pairs that equate to 4 to reference the route. I wanna maybe make a video about this hunt one day but we’ll see 👀

My hot take of the night is the XY rivals were pretty cool I genuinely don’t get the hate for them

Like Serena/Calem were a little boring but lets face it, the other protagonist rivals always tend to be a little bland. Shauna is very sweet, bubbly and curious. Plus she is implied to have a crush on the protag regardless of which gender you choose which I deeply respect Gamefreak for leaving in. Tierno is a sadly very rare case of a character who is of a bigger body size who never gets made fun of for it, I don’t think there was ever even a moment someone commented on his appearance and as a bigger sized Pokemon fan I deeply apricate that. Plus he’s passionate for dancing! He’s just generally very carefree but still kind to everyone around him and just wants to have fun! And Trevor just has that autism swag, he’s very focused on completing the PokeDex, clearly has social anxiety and probably some abandonment issues if we are being honest

All of them I feel have neurodivergent coding, and I genuinely don’t get why people find them bland. Like they probably could have showed up in the story more but they genuinely feel like friends to the protagonist! They come up with nicknames and everything and I feel if this weren’t a video game they would hang out all the time

Oh, definitely — there are many aspects of A-Qing, Song Lan and Nie Mingjue that aren’t the same, that being one of them (and I definitely prefer A-Qing too, I said that to someone when I first noticed the parallels xD. With Song Lan, we don’t see enough of his actual personality for me to form much of a concrete opinion/emotion on him, but I don’t really like Nie Mingjue either — you’ve described him perfectly). I was talking about trio dynamics and events rather than personalities, and even then there are of course differences, there are just enough similarities that I found it worth pointing out. After all, if everything was exactly the same, you wouldn’t have parallels, you’d have a carbon copy!

Let’s talk Yi City Arc! I’ve seen a few posts since my time in the fandom that talks about the Yi City Arc as unnecessary or out of place in the whole of the mdzs narrative. I’ve even seen some suggest that the disconnect is because Yi City was originally a separate story to mdzs, a sort of prototype, if you will, to explain it away. I, too, after my first read questioned the significance of this arc to the overall story. However, the Yi City arc and its placement so early in the novel is actually just a huge and very clever spoiler to most of the important plot points of the overarching story… if you know what plot points to look for, which an un-spoiled first-time reader would not. So let’s talk about those spoilers:

1) The righteous cultivation clans’ refusal to stand against evil—and, really, their indulgence of it—leads to the wiping out of an entire clan and a monastery as well as the deaths of two powerful cultivators unaffiliated with any major sect.

The “righteous” cultivation clans happily ignore that fact that the Jin Clan is amassing power through unscrupulous guest disciples, and it is only when Xiao Xingchen, an outsider, brings the crime against the Chang Clan to light do they bother to pretend to do anything about it. However behind the scenes, the Jin Clan assassinates their only real opposition, and the other clans, great and small, continue to do nothing as Xue Yang is released to commit another massacre. The Jin are never held responsible for their actions. Likewise, all the clans turn away from Wei Wuxian, an outsider, when he calls out the Jin Clan’s crimes against the Wen remnants and accuses them of amassing power via poaching vassal clans and attempting to steal his tools. Behind the scenes, the Jin work to undermine Wei Wuxian’s reputation before joining in to massacre Wei Wuxian and the Wen remnants. The Jin are never held accountable for this, which directly leads into the Xue Yang situation.

2) Xiao Xingchen has his reputation slandered by Xue Yang killing others using his sword.

After Xiao Xingchen kills himself, Xue Yang begins using his sword to enact “vengeance” on the remnants of the Chang Clan, who he considers as having “betrayed” Xiao Xingchen. Finding the signature of Xiao Xingchen’s sword on the slain bodies leads the cultivation world to believe that a disillusioned Xiao Xingchen is killing in revenge. In much the same way, Wei Wuxian is used as a scapegoat by the cultivation world whenever bad things happen, such as the presence of walking corpses or the mass digging of graves. In neither situation does any clan investigate the true events of the situations, happy to blame the easiest suspect and allow the unrest to continue. In both situations, Xiao Xingchen and Wei Wuxian are eventually found innocent of the crimes for which they are accused, and the true culprit is revealed.

3) Xiao Xingchen is betrayed by someone he considered close to him, which eventually leads to his death.

Xiao Xingchen, due to being literally blinded by his sacrifice, ends up running into, rescuing, and caring for his mortal enemy, Xue Yang. Taking advantage of Xiao Xingchen’s blindness, Xue Yang tricks him into murdering a bunch of innocents and his best friend, causing him to commit suicide. Wei Wuxian, similarly, is betrayed by a close friend he kept near, figuratively blinded by a former childhood friendship and the present debt he felt owed to said friend’s parents. This misplaced trust directly leads to his death.

4) Xiao Xingchen must give up his eyes for Song Lan to see again, because Baoshan Sanren is not magical.

This is probably the biggest spoiler of the entire arc, but by the time you get to where this information is relevant, you’d probably have forgotten that this was even said. Xue Yang blinds Song Lan after destroying his home, and to atone for this, Xiao Xingchen goes to his master, Baoshan Sanren, to beg for her help. However, Baoshan Sanren cannot make something out of nothing. Mxtx explicitly writes that tidbit into the narration. Song Lan goes up the mountain blind and comes down with eyes. Xiao Xingchen goes up the mountain with eyes and comes down blind. Song Lan was given Xiao Xingchen’s eyes.

Much later in the story, Jiang Cheng loses his golden core. Wei Wuxian offers the miracle solution of Baoshan Sanren “giving” him a new one. Jiang Cheng, obviously skeptical, questions Wei Wuxian up until the moment he must go up “Baoshan Sanren’s mountain” alone. Wei Wuxian descends, alone, looking pale and weak. Later, when Wei Wuxian is ambushed by the Wen, Wen “Core-melting Hand” Zhuliu touches him and is visibly shocked by a discovery that he then keeps to himself. Jiang Cheng emerges from the mountain with a new golden core, while Wei Wuxian emerges from the Burial Mounds with a new cultivation method wholly independent of the need for a golden core. The Yi City arc tells us why this is: “Baoshan Sanren” cannot make something out of nothing.

And these are just the major parallels I remember off the top of my head. However, while a reread makes a lot of these parallels directly applicable to specific plot points in Wei Wuxian’s own story, I would argue that the biggest role the explicit paralleling is meant to play for a new reader is to make you question the dominant narrative of the main story. The narration tells us that Wei Wuxian is a bloodthirsty man who may as well be a demon, known for cruelty and vengeance. We see none of that from his character when he is resurrected. Then we get a mini-drama where a man with attributes Wei Wuxian directly relates to, with a story Wei Wuxian directly compares to his own life, is scapegoated by society, killed, then eventually vindicated. If nothing else, the Yi City Arc is meant to make you, as a reader, stop and go “Hey, wait a minute, what if Wei Wuxian isn’t the bad guy here???” And once you understand that, you should start questioning everything the prologue told you, just like the juniors start to question what they were told about Xiao Xingchen post Yi City in their group debrief.

the whole Khelif thing is such a nightmare, like the IBA has been found to have severe ethical issues that prompted their ban by the IOC and are unrelated to the sex testing issue so perhaps this is not a credible source and a bitter IBA is using this as a pretext to damage the IOC’s reputation like please do some research 😭.

Worst case, the IBA is being responsible about raising safety concerns in the sport (doubtful) and the two boxers in question have XY DSDs, ie: they are technically biological males but are observed and have lived their lives as women and are no doubt not intentionally cheating in the sport. Caster Semeya, another prominent intersex athlete assigned female at birth, has been banned from competition due to her high testosterone levels. It remains to be seem whether or not that decision by world athletics will stand.

But why do I call these people women when they are biologically men? Because these are intersex people who were raised from birth as women. By calling them women I’m not making a statement about biology or indeed the factual definition of “woman” or female. I’m recognizing that for all and intents and purposes, these people are socially women who have a DSD. They not ethically culpable for “violating” women’s spaces and deserve to preserve their dignity. Even if their DSD means they might not be eligible to compete in elite athletics. Or maybe they will, other athletes have bodily advantages that also make them faster. It remains to be seen what will happen.

So how!! HOW!! Did the conversation become about how these women are really trans women? Was it because Trump lied about them? Was it because JKR supported an assertion from an extremely dubious organization and called a woman with a potential DSD competing “male violence”. Or was it because thousands of women have been living in an echo chamber around trans issues that encourages invasive “transvestigations” and a destructive sense of personal persecution. Controversy around female sex at the Olympics is actually not a product of the trans issue and is in fact much older. The truth is, it’s a gray area around whether or not it’s ethical to allow women or biological men who outwardly appear as women with totally naturally occurring DSDs to compete. Biological difference among elite athletes is common and natural sex variation is a difference where the science is not always settled. Michael Phelps, for example, has several biological abnormalities that make him a better swimmer. No popular movement has been launched to bar him from competition.

Please take a breath and get out of the GC echo chamber, if you seriously consider yourself a radical feminist and an ally to intersex people, women and LGBT people, this is the wrong path to go down and the wrong issue to stake your reputations on. Most importantly, Carini, Yu-Ting and Khelif do not deserve to become symbolic faces of a debate they have nothing to do with. Khelif in particular is very vulnerable in a country, which is hostile to gender nonconformity/sexual difference, the public outcry could have negative repercussions for her at home.

It was a canon-era fic where for some reason Wangji was cranky with Xichen and so Wangji purposefully misbrewed some of Xichen's favorite tea and gave him the stank eye while he poured. So I vaguely remember it starting with lwj and wwx post cannon, wwx passes away, and he makes a ritual/ way for lan wangji to go to an alternate universe where he’s still alive. Lan wangji wakes up in the body of his younger self (it’s implied the original version died because he was trained too hard I think) his father is still alive and is abusive. I remember Wei wuxian and lan wangji meet because they go to visit the Yiling Wei sect. Eventually lan wangji volunteers to go to what I think was their equivalent of the lan lectures which no longer exist in this universe because the lan are kinda sorta evil ish under his abusive father’s rule. I remember that eventually they plan to fight back against the lans and lan wangji ends up getting captured by his father and whipped/tortured. 12. Reddit has directed me to you oh great ones 🧎‍♀️. Essentially, I read a time travel fic a while ago that was amazing and after scouring tags and even my history (I’ve only been bookmarking for a month like a dummy) I haven’t found it. The fic is wwx getting dumped back into his body in the lectures arch immediately after dying. He has some insane PTSD (like genuinely doesn’t want to live anymore but also feels guilty about how he ruined things the first time) and I distinctly remember him throwing up meat of all kinds and the Jiang siblings not understanding but LWJ just rolls with it from what I remember. The final piece which I’m only 90% sure was part of this fic is the plot twist. After everything’s said and done we find out NHS and NMJ are the culprits behind the time travel bc NHS had them both tattooed with WWXs time travel talismans that he made in his first life and he was terrified of losing his brother (pretty positive he had figured out JGY was poisoning him)

13. hello! i’m looking for a post first-siege fic but i don’t remember too much about it. it’s set after LWJ is injured with his 33 lashes, and WWX sneaks(?)/deliriously stumbles into the jingshi after news of his death has already permeated the jianghu (i’m pretty sure). LWJ is woken up by WWX(?) or wakes up to WWX kinda slumped beside him. some feels are definitely had between them but i don’t remember the details.

LXC discovers WWX embarrassingly quickly, and in this fic i’m pretty sure this LXC leans on the “WWX was your only mistake” kind of LXC, but ultimately doesn’t care that he’s in CR for the sake of LWJ—like he’s incredibly wary of WWX and his intentions but throughout the fic you can see LXC realizing he’s more than just the yiling patriarch or the man who broke his brother’s heart.

now there are two scenes i remember from this fic, but i’m not sure which one goes first, and for all i know i might be mistaking two different fics lol. but i distinctly remember WWX coming down with a severe illness. like LWJ and LXC come back to the jingshi at some point and discover that something is really wrong with him, and i think him being sick leads to a golden core reveal? not sure tho.

the scene that i remember that is definitely part of the fic i’m looking for is when LWJ and LXC (i think maybe for a medical check up for LWJ?) leave the jingshi for some reason, and WWX just chills for a little bit. after a while a servant comes into the jingshi to clean some things up, and WWX has to scramble to find a hiding place because no one else in the lan sect is supposed to know he’s there. he ends up hiding behind the far side of LWJ’s bed(?) OR behind a privacy screen(?), and he just sits there, cramped and uncomfortable for who knows how long, before LWJ comes back.

LWJ doesn’t see him at first and you can tell that he’s afraid WWX left, but WWX calls out for him and LWJ discovers his hiding spot, where i’m pretty sure WWX is cultivating some nasty illness.

Quite frankly, all of the above has me realizing just how much WORSE and even more pointless GCYL truly was, just HOW damaging it and AG truly was to the overall anime, especially regarding the disrespectful treatment of Gym Leaders that started in AG and continued into DP and even Best Wishes to some degree.

As zdbztumble pointed out, Misty's sisters, while we never actually saw them battle, were strongly implied to be fairly competent trainers, and at the very least the types to actually TAKE gym duties seriously (with it being made VERY clear they simply had a huge stroke of bad luck regarding losing to three pallet trainers in a row, including Gary who rubbed their noses in the loss). In fact, part of the reason Misty journeyed was to prove herself to her sisters since they othered her as not being to their level. In fact, they even said their water shows were purely a hobby of theirs, meaning even THEY knew their gym duties came first ultimately. They would NEVER have been the types to just abandon the gym to go on a cruise for three months knowing that much. By having them leave the gym, and then adding a wrinkle in AG as well as the Hoso Specials by revealing they constantly handed out Gym Badges like candy without ANY fight at all (like cleaning the pool), and even implying in Battle Frontier that they were SO incompetent they had to literally CALL Misty to threaten her to return or else they'll hand out badges again (despite it going against Luvdisc is a Many Splendored Thing where Daisy took charge and names), it came across as outright degrading not just to Misty's character, but also to her sisters, made Misty's entire journey in the Original Series come across as POINTLESS (ESPECIALLY when you take into account that her sisters were essentially the closest thing Misty had to actual long-term rivals). And it took until XY and ESPECIALLY SM and MPM to actually FIX that catastrophic damage to Gym Leaders' reputations as a result.

It's not just Misty or her sisters that fell victim to this as well: We also had Brock's family fall victim to this in AG as well, especially Lola, who was so grossly incompetent at running a gym that she made Misty's sisters in AG look like model gym leaders by comparison. And Flint was depicted as even MORE useless, unable to stop his wife, heck, even had him being baffled by Brock referencing Ash's win against him (even though Flint IS the reason Ash even HAD an advantage against Brock that time). Then we had Forrest not even STOPPING Lola from doing even WORSE decorations or even hiring shady painters who were later revealed to essentially be trying to pull a Marv and Harry and try to outright burglarize the gym, oh, and SOMEHOW had Flint, Lola, even BROCK neglecting to fill out paperwork regarding Forrest being the new Gym Leader according to a DP special. And don't get me STARTED on the AG Gym Leaders from Flannery up to even Juan, where they were ALL depicted as complete pushovers (yes, even Norman, even moreso when his first win against Ash was more to force Ash to go the route of the games). Made to look more like Team Rocket in terms of incompetence. And this trend continued in one way or another with DP and Best Wishes (DP to a lesser extent, and that's only because they were made competent at the expense of Ash and Pikachu).

I'll be blunt, GCYL should NEVER have happened. Not in the way it was actually done, anyways. Maybe have Misty volunteer to return to the gym for a little while (and it STRICTLY being a little while, with her returning once her sisters are back), and still actually RETAINING her goal of Water Pokemon Master. Oh, and also making sure the Gym Leaders in Hoenn were actually COMPETENT. Just because the players of Ruby and Sapphire might have an easy time beating the Gym Leaders DOESN'T mean they should have Ash breeze through them with a purely rookie team. And it robbed Misty of a perfectly good goal. And yes, I do mean "robbed", as the decision to return to Cerulean Gym was completely FORCED on her, she had zero say in the decision at all. At least Brock and even Serena CHANGED their goals of their own free will with no proverbial guns to their heads beforehand. And if you ask me, with the exception of Iris (and even she's only an exception in a limited sense, as she STILL needs to be in Unova to be formally recognized as a Dragon Master), it also short-changed Misty's successors ultimately, their goals LITERALLY being dependent on the generation (May had to be replaced with Dawn just to have the latter rehash her goal, for example, and aside from that, Contests are implied to only exist in Kanto/Johto/Hoenn/Sinnoh, not in Unova, Alola, Galar, Paldea, and Kalos is its own problem), and in the case of Serena, her Showcase goal is blatantly a one-shot. Misty by contrast could literally travel the entire WORLD with her goal, and certainly had a basis for staying long term on the series (and I ought to add, Misty was already traveling even BEFORE she met Ash, or reunited with him in the case of MPM, so she wouldn't have been reduced to Ash's groupie if she stayed on, unlike Serena where Ash was literally her sole reason for entering a Pokemon Journey).

And quite frankly, since it was purely due to a vote between whether Team Rocket gets the axe or Misty, they should have gone with Team Rocket getting the axe instead, considering they barely contributed ANYTHING to Hoenn and Sinnoh (and did SO poorly in the former that Takeshi Shudo of ALL people complained about how they were grossly mishandled, and he VOTED for them to stay on). But no... we had to listen to that pedophilic nutcase Masamitsu Hidaka all so he'd have eyecandy for the audience despite them being explicit 10 year olds and the intended audience being young enough to not even enter puberty yet.

Idea: one of the more common complaints certain fans have against Misty is that she never got an ongoing rival the way the other pokegirls did. I can’t say I really understand that argument, since 1. that tradition hadn’t been established in the OS and 2. did Brock, Tracey, Max, Clemont, or Bonnie get rivals?

But, if we accept (for some reason) that pokegirls must have a central rival, then picture this: during the Johto years, Misty does have a recurring rival, and it’s…her sisters!

Now, to head off some initial objections: keep in mind that the Sensational Sisters weren’t played as incompetent battlers when they first appeared. They were demoralized from getting wiped by the kids from Pallet Town and more than a little preoccupied with their beauty regimen, but they were maintaining the gym, and they themselves described the water shows as a hobby, not a full-time gig. They mock Misty for not being as beautiful or talented as they are, and Misty flat-out states to Daisy that she wants to prove she can be “just as good a trainer as you are!” So it seems the initial plan, at least, was that Misty was not only put down as the runt for not being as glamorous as her sisters, but for not being as good a trainer in their eyes.

So imagine if, coming back from the Orange Islands and going into Johto, the gang starts running into Misty’s sisters, one or two at a time, with the idea being that they trade off who serves as the Gym Leader while the other two travel around. Mostly to perform and bask in attention, but if they happen along Ash and friends, and have a battle with Misty, we could see that they are incredibly skilled when they decide to try, and that sets Misty off on a Gen-2-long arc to best them, resulting in several more encounters finally culminating in her beating her sisters at the Whirl Cup. Then, if Misty still got written off the show vis a vis taking over the gym when her sisters f*ck off on a cruise, that could’ve been the coda to a storyline that saw them all reconciled and Misty finally proving herself equal to the others, not some contrived out pulled from thin air.

Plus, the more Misty’s sisters appear, the more they can tease her about her “boyfriend,” and the more pokeshipping we get. It’s a win all around!

What other reason would JGY have to hide Da-ge’s head in his secret chamber? We know that even in death, they tormented each other in that coffin. Not even death did them part.

But of course, this reminded me of that fierce corpse!NMJ AU idea I wrote about not so long ago (this one rotates in my head from time to time. I’m a sucker for dark and twisted 19th-century-style romanticism) and the og post that spurred said idea:

Imagine if JGY succeeded at reanimating NMJ's corpse and instead of the vitriol, the hate, the continued murder attempts, he finds that Da-ge is bent on pleasing him from the start. That he and XY haven't fucked up, and that NMJ's has regained abilities he had long-lost due to the saber curse when he had been alive.

Imagine JGY feeling that this monstrous version of the man he once idolized before everything went south should hate him for having murdered him in cold blood. That NMJ should keep tormenting him as much as he had tormented himself in the spare moments he allowed himself to feel sick with the knowledge that he was killing the man whose life he tried to save in the past.

Imagine JGY thinking at first that NMJ is only doing this to drive him crazy, to taunt him and play with him because now that he’s recovered his lucidity from before the SSC, he is able to recognize the feelings that his Deputy once harbored for him.

Now he is receiving from Da-ge everything he had once dreamt of and more, and it won't make JGY feel better at all.

On the contrary, he feels so much worse for having killed the one man whose hate and disdain affected him the most. Because if the hate remained, his actions would have felt justified. Because if he kept trying to kill him, he could revel in ordering him around as a way to taunt him.

JGY is convinced that they made a mistake, that even if they're here now, reunited past death, he doesn't deserve to let go of the turmoil. He doesn't deserve to feel relieved.

This is not his Da-ge, but a puppet that took his image and now bows down to him out of a twisted sense of gratitude that only makes the weight of fate feel heavier. Either that, or NMJ is willingly choosing to do this just to torment him and test how far JGY will go before he snaps.

He chooses to believe this because he knows that the alternative is even worse of a punishment. A part of him knows deep down that if this puppet that is so eager to please, so eager to show the limitless extent of his worshiping devotion, has regained long-lost abilities that have now been amplified without the restraint of mortality, there's the slim chance that this is real. That this was real before. What does this mean? he wonders.

Where does that place us and everything that happened between us? Did he love me even as he casted me away? Or was his love conditional to my adjustment to his idea of me?

He could ask, but he fears the answer just so. He's already torturing himself with the whole reality of this, wishing that they hadn't been able to perform the ritual successfully.

He can't help but think of how he fantasized about finally having his Er-ge's attention all to himself without NMJ's incessant pestering every time NMJ kneels before him, closing his eyes in what he has figured is now his way of expressing bliss and contentment whenever JGY's praises his work.

He can't help but think of how he dreamt of returning Da-ge's slights towards him tenfold every time this giant of a man curls in the floor around his feet asking for forgiveness.

He can't help but think of the intense disdain and murderous intent he felt after NMJ kicked him down the stairs in the middle of that one qi deviation he had at Jinlintai every time they tread through paths that threaten to soil his golden robes and this corpse that looks like his Da-ge decides to lift him of the floor, saying that his feet don't deserve to touch such filth.

He tries to avoid these thoughts so hard, but he can't. And he feels like this is his righteous punishment for daring to reclaim his birthright as NMJ looks at him dead in the eye and confesses that he loves him.

He feels an intense pain forming in his chest as this wrong version of Da-ge says that even if his skin remains now cold to the touch, the light graze of their fingers on those long nights of warfare in his tent made him feel incensed all over.

He feels nauseous as this twisted version of his Sworn Brother says that even if his heart cannot beat anymore, the sight of his real smiles, the ones that he had thought once he’d been the only one privileged enough to see, made his heart want to jump out of his chest. Made him now want to carve it out and gift it to him if that’s what he wanted.

He doesn’t allow himself to think this is anything other than divine retribution. Mostly because the idea that it could be real, that in another life without war, without the saber curse, NMJ would have loved him like this or even with just a quarter of this intensity, it’s worse. It makes him wish to go back in time, try and change things just so he could get a taste of what is like having NMJ’s love in life as he has in death.

Ah man. Normally I would just delete this and go on with my day, as I am a whole ass adult with like, a husband and child and career and mortgage and shit, and I haven’t seen childish fandom bullshit like this since literally the 1990’s, and I have better, more important things to do with my life and you are just going to respond to this with the same repeated thing over and over again.

Because honestly? I think that’s what this is all about. I think you are sad and mad and upset about how Serena’s character was wrapped up on the anime, and I think you have every right to feel that way.

I’m not a Serena fan, myself, but I have no ill feelings towards those who are. Love what you love, I say! I actually couldn’t get into the BW or XY anime, just not my thing, but I did start rewatching again at Sun Moon, and I can absolutely see why a Serena fan would be frustrated at how they ended things for her. Literally all the other traveling companions (save for May and Max, for obvious reasons with May’s Japanese VA) had a more significant wrap up with Ash than she did in the last season.

Misty and Brock both got the whole Aim to be a Pokemon Master thing, Dawn came back to watch Ash complete during the World Coronation and cheer him on, Iris was IN the World Coronation thing as a gd champion!!

Serena got an episode, and she didn’t even interact with Ash in it hardly at all. She spent the whole time with Chloe, and only saw him in passing when he walked past her to get on the boat at the very end. There was no blushing, no love confessions, neither the kiss nor Sarena were eeever talked about again. She got a non speaking cameo watching him against Leon along with the others and that was it. I have my own opinions as to why the writers did that, but that is neither here nor there, that’ll be a post on it’s own.

But that’s frustrating! I totally get that! She was the only traveling companion to kiss Ash, surely that means something and she’ll be brought back or brought up and she and Ash will be together forever!

But nope, pokemon isn’t that kind of anime. It and Ash’s journey ended with just him and Pikachu running off into the sunset, with Gary, if we’re being honest, as probably the most significant human to him in the end (as it should be, my old ass genwonner heart LOVES how Gary was there at the end living in Ash’s head rent free lol).

So I do get why you are upset and lashing out. I think it’s dumb and immature and annoying, but I get it.

My parting wish for you is hope that you’ll realize that literally no Ash ship is canon; his time in the anime is done and he ended up with no one, and that is simply okay because it’s pokemon and romance in that show has literally never been the point. I hope you keep on loving your favorite characters and ships and that you let everyone else enjoy their’s.
