When I was 14, I wrote a poem about The X-Files and sent it to one of my favourite sci-fi magazines, XPosé. And they printed it. It made my YEAR.

do you think that tim stole greggs tape of airheads bc he was jorking it to brendan frasier (or while he was fooling around with ayaka). bc he talks about fantasizing about him (and katherine heigl) i think in season 4. and brendan frasier looks his best in airheads (i guess some people who dont like long hair would disagree). so he would never admit that he stole it (for that express purpose) bc its less embarrassing if the story is that ayaka stole it.

EXCLUSIVE: Ananth Narayan Mahadevan admits that Naseeruddin Shah SHOCKED him when he informed him that he liked Himesh Reshammiya's The Xpose: "'Sir, subah se koi mila nahin kya?' I joked. But he was dead serious."
Typically, filmmakers create films in a single genre. At most, they might shift between genres in mainstream or niche cinema. An exception is Ananth Narayan Mahadevan. On the one hand, he has made sensual thrillers and romcoms, but also thought-provoking and festival-friendly films. During an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ananth Narayan Mahadevan discussed it. "I was doing a lot of television where I worked with some of the big stars," he explained. With Kabhi To Milenge, I introduced Rati Agnihotri to television. I collaborated with Satish Shah, R Madhavan, Farooq Sheikh, and others. That's when Viveck Vaswani approached me with Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar (2002), saying it will be a film with published music.
Tumblr media
It piqued my interest because it had three love stories: boy meets girl, boy loses girl, and boy regains her. We got down with the cameraman and created three color palettes: the boy meets girl track used spring colors, the boy loses girl track used grey and black, and the boy regains girl track used earth colors. The encounter was enjoyable for me. Dil Maange More (2004) was a wild date movie. It was particularly entertaining because it stated that you do not usually marry your first love." "Then Sujit Sen, who wrote Saaransh (1984), came up with the idea of Aksar (2006)," he continued. The producers were looking for an erotic thriller. It had this strange concept of a man pleading, "Help me divorce my wife!" I should not have given in to the temptation. Following Aksar, there was Aggar (2007), Victoria No 203 (2007), and The Xpose (2014). For me, Victoria No. 203 was a wonderful learning experience. I'll never attempt another remake." The Himesh Reshammiya-starrer The Xpose stands out as a discussion topic. According to Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, "the premise of The Xpose was fascinating." It all came down to the stars. The stars' picture was bigger than they were. They believed in it and went crazy. It wasn't a serious approach to filmmaking."
"Today, I won't say these films were a blot on my filmography," he added. In addition, I only made seven of these films. But I believe in 13 films: Mee Sindhutai Sapkal (2010), Red Alert (2010), Staying Alive (2010), Gour Hari Dastaan (2015), Rough Book (2016), Doctor Rakhmabai (2016), Mai Ghat (2019), Bittersweet (2020), Life's Good (2022), Aata Vel Zaali, The Storyteller, The Confession, and Phule. When told that his commercial pictures were entertaining and Aksar was, he commented, "That is a tragedy!" Naseeruddin Shah informed me at a book launch event, "Ananth, I enjoyed the film." Gour Hari Dastaan had not yet been released. So I was curious how he saw it. I inquired about him. 'I'm talking about the Himesh Reshammiya film,' he said! 'Sir, subah se koi mila nahin kya?' I joked. But he was dead serious. He revealed that he thought The Xpose was "stylish, colorful, dynamic, and so on." "Himesh Reshammiya then came up with another script, of Teraa Surroor (2016)," Ananth Narayan Mahadevan added. 'Nahin, ab bahut ho gaya', I told him. However, I presented my friend Shawn Arranha, who directed it. Then I saw Naseeruddin Shah in the poster. He actually bought it (smiles)! In fact, I applauded Himesh for the manner in which he promoted The Xpose. 'No film of mine has been marketed as well as The Xpose,' I told him. I get a kick out of folks asking, 'Can you make another The Xpose?'" Was he happy with The Xpose? "All I can say is that this is the genre of cinema I have left behind," Ananth replied. I will never make another formula film again. The term'mainstream film' does not bother me. I want every film to be popular. Our audience isn't well-educated or cinema-literate enough to recognize that Gour Hari Dastaan is mainstream. It is referred to as "parallel cinema." 'The kind of cinema you guys make is parallel cinema,' I responded. "This is film."
