ABOUT
Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Xiomara’s parents Alberto and Mercedes, made the trek to the US to get away from vampires who’d been targeting packless wolves in the city for years. They knew that it wouldn’t be an easy journey but Xo was eight and they wanted to make the move before she triggered.
Though they made it to Georgia, other challenges arose once there. Her parents argued between which pack to join: Jones or Cross. Her father was a proud man, and had fought his whole life to get to where he was. He wanted his family to be with the strongest pack, which he believed was the Crosses, because he’d seen what happened to wolves without one.
Growing up in the pack wasn’t easy, but Xo’s spirit was as strong as her parents. She was determined and hard-working, fiery and stubborn, all traits that helped her through training and trials Through those trials, she became close with Wolf, Rhea and Josie. Eventually their tight-knit bond went far deeper than friendship. She loved them with everything in her and they each became each other’s, helping through the grueling trial of being brought up in the Cross pack.
Her father passed when she was seventeen and Xo felt it like a blow – the strongest man she knew was gone. But they gave her strength to continue and when she found out she was expecting, hope grew. Luna’s birth changed everything for Xo. Her daughter brought light with her that illuminated even the darkest nights. And Xo determined to never let it go out, and to never dim it herself. She encouraged Luna’s curious and independent nature. But with the knowledge that her grandfather would push her as hard as he did his sons, Xiomara helped train her alongside Rhea, Josie, Wolf and all their children. She wanted Luna to be capable and confident when the time came to shift and show her grandfather that she was just as formidable as any of her cousins. The Hernandez family had always been fighters, and the Cross family had always been strong. Training alongside her daughter, Xo was proud to see that Luna was both.
Josie’s death ten years ago was a blow none of them saw coming. Grief permeated their lives, even as Rhea and Xo took Allie in as their own, raising her together alongside Wolf. But she knew that Wolf’s grief was tied with guilt and no amount of trying to convince him it wasn’t his fault would make him believe it. So they each took on different burdens to help each other. They were a family but this tested them all, drawing them together and pulling them apart as they each dealt with their own grief. But, at the end of the day, their greatest comfort and strength was still each other.
The past three years haven’t been without their own sets of losses, Xo losing her mother as they fled Atlanta. She does her best to swallow that grief, knowing that everyone’s lost someone by now. But it still hurts, knowing that after Josie’s death, Mercedes had expressed her desire to leave Atlanta and, out of fear, Xo stopped her. Doing her best to leave the past behind her and be present for her family now, Xo joined the council a year ago when a position opened. She says she’s doing it for the sake of peace in town, but she knows her motives aren’t completely altruistic. She wants to support Wolf as Alpha, Rhea, their kids and pack as much as possible and thinks that while fighting is admirable and important, this is a chance she can contribute and protect her family in a different way.

Pierced Stone
(A Shattered Violet One shot)
It was a cloudy midday on Uva’s training field, with the sunlight fading out with each cloud that passed by. Nemona was near the end of her Intro to Battling class. She had sent Fuerte into battle with a student’s Lechonk.
Glad it’s not me out there, Pierce thought, I would’ve skewered the poor thing! She stood by with her teammates as she observed the little Sprigatito lashing his claws about.
“Zipi use Tackle!” The younger student tried to evoke a serious command.
“Fuerte, Quick Attack!” Her trainer followed.
“Go Fuerte!” Punchy squeaked flailing his little paws around.
Fuerte darted toward his opponent without any preparation. He lunged with unsheathed claws, scraping the poor Lechonk in the face.
“Ha, take that!” He reveled in his strength.
“Auntie, Xio! Auntie, Pierce!” Punchy padded over to the older Pokemon, “Isn’t Fuerte cool?”
“Don’t go looking up to him, Kid,” Pierce nagged with a snuff, “He hits well. But his form is sloppy and he’s never going to cover himself when he’s too focused on the power of his attacks,” she informed the little Pawmi.
“Don’t let the mean wolf bark at you, little one,” Xiomara mooed, “You can battle however you want!”
Punchy’s brown eyes beamed. “Can I battle like this?” He rubbed his yellow cheeks to build friction. Then, he emitted little sparks until they were bright enough to see. “Like that?”
“Well done, Punchy!” she went to pet him with her hoof lightly but missed him.
“Yeah…” Pierce agreed, “Just figure out a way to channel your sparks faster.”
“Is battling all you think about, Pierce?” Xiomara smiled.
“I can’t lose focus,” Pierce sneered back playfully, “But it hasn’t been fun without you.”
“How did Auntie Xio used to fight?” Punchy politely asked.
“We Tauros, attack horn-first and charge at the ready!” The old bull reminisced.
“Once she knocked down an entire Garganacl,” Pierce added.
“Well, I wouldn’t say I knocked them over…” Xiomara replied humbly, “But I earned us a gym badge that day!”
Xiomara was Nemona’s starter Pokemon. When Pierce joined the team she always felt like she needed to catch up to the Tauros in strength. But now that they were both older they could always look back and laugh. Unfortunately, Xiomara’s glory days were now behind her. With her old age, her eyes became a foggy blue and her sight became blurry. Nemona had no choice but to retire from battling. Although Xiomara acted content, Pierce knew that she yearned to gallop on the battlefield again.
“Alright, it’s all about accuracy,” Nemona lectured her class, “Your first assignment will be help your Pokemon hone either a physical or special attack! Try practicing by battling each other or a decoy doll!”
As Nemona rambled on, Fuerte came scampering over to teammates. He held his head high, without even looking at them in the eyes.
“Fuerte!” Punchy said in awe, “You were so cool!”
“It was nothing,” Fuerte scoffed, “These battles are getting too easy, Nemona should give me a challenge!”
“You have a long way to go, Pussy Cat, you haven’t even evolved yet,” Pierce lightly criticized.
Xiomara gave Pierce an exhausted look as a warning to cease her blunt mockery. But Pierce couldn’t help it if she was right.
“Oh yeah!” The Sprigatito hissed, “I’m too good to evolve, I’m plenty strong!”
That’s what someone who wants to evolve would say, she read the desperation in his eyes. That Patch kid dodged a bullet with him, but I hope their doing better with that agreeable Fuecoco. Nemona dismissed her class and went to meet her Pokemon.
“Hey Xi, how ya doing?” She cooed to her Tauros, “You having fun in the sun?”
Xiomara gave her trainer a lick on the cheek. Given that she was her first Pokemon, Nemona's love for her Tauros was the strongest. Was Pierce jealous… a little. But it didn’t matter, Nemona loved her in her way.
“I’m going to be the best battler Nemona’s ever seen!” Fuerte mewed to Punchy, “I’ll be so good that I’ll only get a scar on my flank!”
A tense tremor began to shake the Lycanroc’s heart. She could sense Fuerte taking a spiteful jab at her. Scars ain’t medals kid. She placed her paw on the scar streaking down her right eye. When she sustained it the nurses said she would lose some depth perception and have to retire early, but she proved them wrong. With some special training, nothing could slow her down. That was seven years ago, and she was now nine years old. Most of Nemona’s original team had passed on, and if she wanted to keep her Champion rank she needed to shape up some young recruits. But Pierce would never quit. Sure her muzzle was starting to turn silver, but that only meant she was wise. She’d carry the legacy she helped her trainer create.
…
It was nearly time for Nemona’s Advanced Battling class, and Pierce began to warm up.
“Rah!” She slammed her paws against the dirt field and summoned a row of razor-sharp stalactites. Not too shabby!
She clenched her right paw and tightened her focus. But then suddenly and unexpected breeze blew through her pelt.
“AUGGGHHHH!” A sharp blade had scraped her back.
Caught off guard by a surprise attack, she bared her fangs and growled. When she turned around she saw Fuerte hunched over apologetically.
“PUSSY CAT!” Pierce snarled ferociously, “Why did you do that!?”
His dark green ears drooped down, “I wanted to see if my Magical Leaf could slice through your stones!” he whimpered, “I didn’t mean to hurt you… I thought we could train together?”
Pierce sighed out her tension, “You trained enough for today,” she let him down lightly. She tightened her fist and punched away one of her stalactites. “If you want to train more tomorrow, you should rest.”
“I can take it,” Fuerte promised, “I just want to be as strong as you someday!”
So you can take my place? She channeled her anger into another Focus Punch, “HAH!” She made another stalactite crumble into large clumps of rock and shook her paw “I only got strong because I knew when to take a break.”
Far in the distance, Pierce saw students gathering for the next class.
“Go take a nap with Punchy,” she shooed the kitten off.
She padded across the field to more important matters. These trainers were much older than the beginner class, being teenagers with some experience under their belts. Pierce recognized some familiar faces from past years and some new ones.
However, Pierce noticed one of the newer students brought a ceramic vase with them. The Lycanroc oggled the object curiously, it had a fresh grassy smell to it. It was painted black and white with a crack trickling down from the rim repaired with a green substance. Who’d bring something so fragile to a battle class?
Suddenly the vase shook its own, then levitated into the air.
“Didn’t anyone tell you it was rude to sniff someone else?” The vase spoke in a calm, brittle voice.
A cursed object! “Oh, I uh… didn’t know you were a Pokemon…” Pierce apologized, “Sorry I’m not the best seer.”
“Ah,” the vase replied, “If that’s the case that’s quite alright, it’s probably difficult to see much with that crack on your face.”
Pierce’s blood began to boil again, You’re calling me rude?
Tiny blotches of green levitated beside the mysterious Pokemon forming detached hands. The cursed vase took out a wooden stick from inside its head which was filled with a tea-like liquid.
“I am Harunori,” they introduced themselves, “My master is an exchange student from Blueberry Academy.”
“Blueberry, huh?” Pierce crossed her arms, “Hear it’s a great school, you guys take battling way more seriously than we do.”
“Yes we are known for being… competitive,” Harunori twirled their stick, “Only because my master has great ambitions.”
“We’ll we’re competitive too!” Fuerte suddenly interrupted, “Our trainer is a Champion!”
“Fuerte!” Pierce barked, “I thought I told you to go take a nap!”
“Well well,” Harunori sounded pleased, “So your trainer is the revered Nemona Torrez?”
“That’s right,” Fuerte proudly mewed.
“I didn’t expect her to have a pre-evolved kitten in her team,” the cursed vase scorned playfully.
Great now he’s making us look bad, Pierce groaned in her head.
As the Pokémon conversed, Nemona blew her shrill whistle to start her class. All the students redirected toward the fearsome champion in all of her glory.
“We look forward to beating you,” Harunori whispered before floating away.
What's their problem, are they intimidated by us or something? Pierce went to stand beside her trainer with Fuerte tagging along.
“Go!” She grumbled to him.
The green little cat scampered to the side.
“Alright, new year… same people it looks like,” Nemona clapped her hands, “For those of you who have to retake this class don’t think it’s going to be easier, because I got creative!”
Here we go again, she smirked.
“You came back to this class because you didn’t bleed like the ones who passed!” Nemona lectured, “I’m going to whip you up into shape and you're going to have everything I teach you as an instinct!”
The familiar students began to sweat, and one of them was on the verge of bursting into tears.
Pierce saw a new student with long, obsidian black hair with red undertones pulled together with a yellow headband. Over her academy uniform, she wore a blue varsity jacket. She expressed no anxiety in the presence in Nemona’s discipline, and instead had a collected smile. Harunori floated beside her, cementing the two as a team.
What are those two are planning?
…
The class commenced with Nemona’s students breaking into pairs to battle one another. Pierce stood watch as the Pokemon spouted attacks and flailed themselves around. Of course, she always found something wrong. She witnessed a Primape hurdling a fist toward a Toedscruel. They’re going to get sore if they punch that way. Nearby a Dolliv harnessed light for a Solar Beam, the bright flash irritated her. Even I could tell they used it too early, some Pokemon are too impatient for charged attacks. When it came time to check Harunori, they were chosen to battle against an entire Donphant. Pierce knew the vain little vase would have the upper hand based on their grassy scent, yet she noticed them dodging without any effort to attack back. That doesn’t seem right. While the battle ensued, Nemona snapped her fingers behind her back. Following the signal Pierce sprung another row of stalagmites in between the two other Pokemon. The Donphant flinched and fled back to its trainer upon seeing the impaling stones.
“So…” Nemona started, “You’re the Blueberry student?” she glanced at Harunori’s trainer.
“Carmine Kakurezaki,” the obsidian hair girl replied.
“Are you sure?” Nemona asked, “I was told Blueberry students had more… edge to them. And the way you were battling seemed rather flighty.”
“Harunori is rather delicate,” Carmine held her cursed vase, “Besides I prefer to tire out my opponents and attack them at their most vulnerable.”
That’s not a bad strategy, Pierce thought, tire out an opponent and you’ll have a better chance of winning.
“Why even battle with a fragile Sinistea?” Nemona assumed.
“They’re not a Sinistea!” Carmine suddenly lashed back, “They’re a Polchaghiest!” she scowled aggressively.
The other students and their Pokemon paused their battles at the sight of the explosive exchange student. Presumably wanting to witness something to gossip over. A nerve was struck before there could be any discipline.
“Well whatever they are, I wanna see what they can do,” Nemona prompted her further, “On the battlefield, Blueberry! You and me!” She demanded.
“Your on,” she scowled.
When Nemona chose a student to be hard on she wanted to make an example to tie in with a lesson. But there where also times where she saw potiental in someone and wanted to build them. It was anyone’s guess what she saw in Carmine.
“Wanna help me out, Pierce?” Nemona looked toward her with trust in her eyes.
“Let’s do this!” Pierce barked back.
The other students surrounded the field’s battle court. Unfortunately, Fuerte was present.
“Are you really going to battle them?” Fuerte wondered, “I think they’re a grass type and you’re-”
“Don’t worry, Pussycat!” Pierce tried to push them away, “I know what I’m doing.” They think that they’ll have the advantage, but I’ll be the one to throw them off.
Pierce marched onto her side of the court while her opponent bobbed around in the air. Of course, they had to be a floater, she dreadfully thought of hatching a plan.
Looking back at her trainer, she noticed her making a fist with her left hand and placing her right palm over it. Of course, Pierce recognized the hand gestures, corner them with the ol’ stone cage!
“I am honored to have this battle with you, Pierce,” Harunori tilted forward to bow.
Nobody is this cordial before the battle. She crouched her body into a ready position, “Likewise…” Whatever they're hiding, I'm ready for it!
“Battle begin!” Nemona announced, “Pierce, use Iron Head!”
The Lycanroc of night thought of a steel barrier shielding their mind. In that instance the rocky spike at the end of the fringe of their mane became metallic.
“Use withdraw!” Carmine countered.
As Pierce swung her head around like a blade, the Poltchageist retreated back into the confines of their porcelain shell. She allowed her nose to guide her towards her grassy opponent.
Yet she only ended up swinging the open air. Damn it!
Still having steely thoughts, they picked up the grassy smell on their right and swiped their mane accordingly. Still nothing. Stay still, damn it!
“Coat them with a Stun Spore!” Carmine directed.
Oh perfect!
“Pierce on your front!” Nemona instructed.
She backed away on command, but they smelt a polleny aroma around them. Then their left paw had a tingly sensation that made her whole arm numb. Arceus’s Ring! She could barely move it, this can’t stop me! Come on Pierce, you’ve fought through worse!
She attempted to lift her arm but the numbness overtook her. Just need to focus!
“Mega Drain!” The Blueberry student blabbered.
Oh no you don’t! She scampered away from the Poltchageist’s green light. But she kept her mind fixated on breaking out of her numbness. With a single focus punch she shook off the spores.
“My you’re everything I expected and yet you surprise me!” Harunori mused.
Shut up you, ugly urn! Her tongue was beginning to feel moist with slobber. She saw Nemona making a slicing motion with her arm. While the cursed Pokemon reveled in their smugness, Pierce took a swift head swing into Harunori’s ceramic body. Her spike punctured a single crack into their side.
“That’s it, Pierce!” Nemona praised.
As the Poltchageist hovered back up, its newly formed crack began to ooze green. They’re not delicate at all if they can repair themself like that! Pierce became crossed she wasn’t going to be the one bested by a piece of pottery! Forgive me Nemona… She raised her claws and began swiping at the sky. With her stony might she conjured a boulders, and before they could hit the ground she created a ring of stalagmites. With boulders hurtling towards and sharp rocks surrounding them the little vase was trapped in their stone cage. However, Harunori precisely maneuvered through the oncoming avalanche, effortlessly dodging each rock. How could something so small survive something so destructive? There were greater opponents she defeated with ease!
Arceus dammit! If I could only kill this fucker! If I don’t tire them out they’ll drain me instead! As she recounted her battles of the past she remembered a particular fight when she needed to take cover. In that instance, she created another row of stalagmites to hide behind. Come on Nemona, Pierce thought, terastlize me already! She squeezed her eyes shut to protect herself from the meddling light of the terastal orb. She couldn’t feel the crystals emerging beneath her feet or the invigorating, adrenaline rush that it gave. Was Nemona crossed at her for her impulsive disobedience.
“What are you waiting for?!” Pierce winced. If I don’t terastalize now that jar is going to take everything out of me! You know that!
Nemona only glanced at Pierce with a vacant expression, she wasn’t smiling nor was she frustrated. Instead she took out an Ultra Pokeball; Pierce’s Pokeball.
Eager to hold her own, she lunged back into the fray unexposed. It wasn’t over until she won! At that point Nemona was a quiet as a pair of Tandemaus. It was up to Pierce to be the trainer.
Proving her upper hand she allowed for a little bit of her energy to be taken. Then she would jab the with another Iron Head.
As Harunori reeled in another Mega Drain, Pierce could feel a dose of adrenaline being ripped out of her chest.
I will be okay… she reminded herself.
But Harunori didn’t stop, they kept going and she could feel more being taken from her. Water, blood, air… until she couldn’t keep track. …
Within the next minute the Pierce the strong musk of potions, canceled out the rubbery odor of turf grass.
Dang nab it…I blacked out… she thought as she waited for her vision to clear. But even with her eyes dilated she realized that the sky was gray with clouds until it became a ceiling. But it wasn’t the ceiling of Nemona’s room.
She pressed her paw pads against the strange cushiony thing that was she lying on. It was leathery and naked without any sheets. No… don’t tell me! With enough strength she lifted her head up and could make out diagrams of different Pokemon displayed on the walls. She was in the Nurse’s Office!
Fuck! What happened?! That little… they couldn’t have beat me!
“She’ll recover in time,” the Nurse’s voice entered the room, “But my best recommendation going forward is to take this incident as a sign.”
What do you mean? Pierce wondered knowing well of the implications.
“I assume you saw this coming but most Pokemon get tired once they are ten years old. And based on these records Pierce should have stopped battling a long time ago,” the nurse's words shoved into the wolf’s heart.
“But… I…,” Pierce wheezed to the ceiling, “I proved…” I’m still nine years old. Golden years aren’t my style!
“She’s never slowed down before,” Nemona protested, “So she had an ugly battle… that’s never stopped us.”
Exactly.
“I’m not saying it's definite, just something to keep in mind,” the nurse hushed, “I want to keep her here for the rest of the week to see how she does.”
No problem, I've done this dance once I can do it again!
...
The week was nearly over with her trainer coming to visit her from that day on. Each day there was a new test in her recovery process. Bloodwork, physical therapy, urinalysis. Pierce passed all of them except for vision, and that was the prime symptom of old age. There was still one test left; battling performance. If she couldn’t pass this one she’d be sidelined for sure. That night she waited until the building lights were out so she could do one last warm-up. She was lucky to still be well enough to see in the dark, even if she bumped into a few walls. The school’s fitness center was empty. The machines smelled of sanitizer and all of the equipment had been neatly stored away. While tempted to go all out on the punching bag, decided on a much quieter decoy doll. She imagined that the doll had been possessed by a nagging spirit.
“Oh look at me!” She gave the doll a crackly voice, “I think I’m so smart! Look at me, I’m going defeat- THE CHAMPION LEAGUE CLASS LYCANROC!” She let her true voice slip through.
Piling her frustration, her rock spike turned to iron and she took a swift stab into the doll’s burlap flesh. As she raised herself back up she was satisfied to see her opponent split at the seam, pouring out sand. It helped that the doll was dyed green, the color of bitter tea. Pierce realized that if the doll was Harunori, it would repair itself easily. The tea inside of them is like blood that heals wounds. Maybe if I could taint it somehow… What am I saying?! She was thinking like she needed to best them in a rematch. Sure it made her look bad when she lost. But she didn’t need to think about some random Pokemon. As long the battle they had wasn’t over Nemona’s title, there was nothing to worry about. Challengers come and go, she thought as she picked up another doll, this one would get so cocky that’ll go to their head. Head full of crap! Then again… something about the way they held themselves… GET A GRIP, PIERCE!
The wolf used that stress for a Focus Punch, but missed. If I'm really “so old” why can’t I land a direct punch by now! Just Pierce picked up a familiar jangling noise echoing from the hallways. Seems to early for a late night snack. But the metal bell kept tolling closer with the sound of hoofsteps.
“I thought I’d find you here,” Xiomara stuck her head into the room.
If I just keep quiet she’ll go away.
“Come on, you know well you can’t be here after hours,” the Tauros mooed, “Let me walk you back to bed!”
A nerve vibrated in the Lycanroc’s head, “What do I think I am? A grandmother?!” Realizing that she had just said that to a senile Tauros, she was in for a headbutt.
Xiomara cleared her nose, “You already exercised for the day.”
“I can handle it!” She barked back.
“I thought you told Fuerte it was bad to overwork himself?”
“I LIED!”
“It’s not right Xi, we’ve busted our backs to become champions! And now we’re being told to just lie down after all we’ve done!” Pierce vented, “We’re the last ones of the original team still left! And I’m going to stick with our girl till the very end!”
The Tauros paused, Pierce could tell the memories of training were flashing by in her head.
“Pierce…” the old bull started, “You can still fight. Your body is just showing age, you’ll have to accept that and work with it.”
Pierce took a good look at herself through the room's mirrors. She stared deeply at the graying flecks on her once-red muzzle. The seeping moonlight highlighted the streaks of silver curling in her white mane.
“So why did you give up battling?” The wolf asked.
“I won,” Xiomara answered proudly, “After we won the league, battling didn’t feel the same anymore,” she smiled, “I would have retired whether or not I couldn’t see. I might as well enjoy myself while I’m still here.”
The hardy Lycanroc was shaken by the response. She wondered how much time she spent battling. Was she wasting her time?
“Come now,” Xiomara backed out of the doorway, “Let’s take you back to rest.”
...
The following morning Pierce passed her last test with flying colors. Finally she could still fight if she still wanted too. Yet she decided to rest a little longer after her talk with Xiomara. There had to be more to life than just battling?
While the little ones practiced training on the field, Pierce tried to make her comfortable. She threw herself down on the plastic grass and watched the clouds pass by through the dark lenses of her visor. It felt very coarse on her fur.
“Am I doing it right?” She asked the wise bull.
“Don’t worry, it’s better on real grass!” Xiomara laughed, her humor as dry as ever.
“Auntie Pierce! Auntie Pierce!” Punchy frolicked toward them, “Are you really all better?”
“Of course she isn’t!” Fuerte spat, “If she were better she’d be battling!”
Yeesh, she thought, whatever happened to being to good to evolve?
Within the past week the little Sprigatito grew into a snobby Floragato. He now stood on two paws much like Pierce and it was easy to tell he was still getting used to it. The fur on his body became more bristled like tiny thorns on a wild rose.
“Gotta know when to take a break, remember?” she told him.
“Whatever!” He stormed off clumsily.
Pierce took notice of his hardened attitude, it felt like something she would do. Was he just as disappointed in her loss as she was? Maybe I rub off on him in the worst way. Suddenly as she closed her eyes, the smell of the artificial grass became authentically natural. It brought back infuriating, grueling memories. And hovering right before her was a newly evolved Harunori.
“Salutations,” they chimed.
They’re evolved form heavily resembled a Polteageist as much as their trainer tried to deny it. Instead of a teapot, the little ghost sat in a bowl. Their body was exposed green blob which would drip green drops onto wherever they were floating above. They wore a strange tool made up of dried twigs like a hat.
Oh Arceus, not today… “What do you want?” She groaned.
They were only entertained by her attitude, “My master has business with yours,” Harunori smiled.
Am I really ready for another rematch? I just healed for crying out loud.
Nemona approached the student and her snide Pokémon, “Can I help you, Blueberry?”
“Carmine…” she murmured to herself, “What I want has nothing to do with your class,” she raised her voice, “So please understand…”
Uh oh, Pierce immediately got up and stood by her trainer’s side.
Carmine pulled out a dark blue tin case from her uniform pocket. She opened it, revealing eight long metal pins. Each a different color representing a different type. There was no mistaking it as gym badges from a different region. I knew it!
“Nemona Torrez!” Carmine proclaimed, “I hereby challenge you for your title as Champion ranked trainer of Paldea!”
Lady, you have no idea what you're getting into!
Nemona said nothing, unsure if the girl was making things up. The league had many rules but would this be allowed?
...
That night there would be a battle on Uva’s field. Night was tailored for the wolf, ever since she evolved. She fought better without the sun's glare messing up her vision. The moon was the mightiest stone of all, and while it wasn’t full she felt honored to fight under its presence. On the battlecourt she locked eyes with her trainer, reading the uncertainty and desperation of the poor girl. Her tangerine eyes were two suns about to be overshadowed by an eclipse.
For whatever reason a trainer with eight gym badges was eligible to challenge a champion no matter where those badges came from. Nemona defended her title before…with her original team. It had been years since someone had challenged her. And knowing it was someone who had bested her before, just made the outcome more suspenseful. Nemona paced about the battle court, waiting for the Blueberry student to show herself. Nemona was always early for everything and she was obligated to accept every responsibility the league gave her. That was the only thing Pierce couldn’t stand. Someone made it onto the field but even Pierce could tell it wasn’t Carmine.
“Ree, what are you doing here?!” Nemona winded up emotionally.
It was the uptight green-haired girl from the league; an elite four-member. They had known her a long time before then.
“Heard you got challenged,” she answered adjusting her glasses, “The league permits me to supervise.”
Nemona blushed, strapping her brace tighter out of frustration. Masking any fear she had.
“You’re gonna do fine, Cuz,” Rika encouraged.
“I shouldn’t even be fighting her,” Nemona complained, “Her badges don’t even count for entering a league challenge in Paldea!”
“Champion challenges are different,” Rika added, “It applies to every league in every region.”
Nemona gave Rika a sneering, “This rule is dumb and you know it” kind of look. Pierce couldn’t agree more.
Finally Carmine arrived but with a strange accessory on the side of her head. It was a mask of some kind of blue pokemon. Perhaps it was a custom in her region.
Once both trainers stood on their sides of the court preparations would commence.
“Nemona Torrez of Cabo Poco vs Carmine Kakurezaki of Mossui Town. This is a champion-ranked battle, therefore all league rules must be followed,” Rika decried, “Whoever wins or breaks the rules will be granted the title of champion!”
I’m coming for you, Pierce promised Harunori. This time she would be better prepared for the grassy foe with a more balanced moveset.
“As per tradition the reigning champion will decide the format of the battle,” Rika pointed towards Nemona.
“Double battle!” Nemona quickly replied, “Two on two, no rotations!”
“I accept!” Carmine nodded.
Double? Who’s going to be my partner?
“Pierce you’re up!” The champion called for her wolf.
With pleasure!
Her trainer threw a common Pokeball into the ring. Much to Pierce’s surprise Fuerte came out! The Lycanroc could barely comprehend, what was happening. Fuerte just evolved! Nemona likes to catch people off guard but this is ridiculous!
“Pierce?” Fuerte mewed scanning the area, “What’s happening? Is the battle over?”
“You’re in it!” Pierce growled begrudgingly, “Don’t screw this up!”
Pierce expected Fuerte to build himself up with pride. But his green ears drooped and he said nothing. Don’t chicken out on us, Nemona’s title is on the line. Carmine launched her two Pokeballs out on the field. Of course, Harunori was one of her choices. The other was a grey dog Pokemon with protruding fangs. They were small enough to be unevolved.
“You go for Mangey, Harunori is mine!” She instructed to the inexperienced cat.
He gave the wolf pink apprehensive eyes, “Okay…”
“Battle begin!” Rika incitated, that there was no going back.
Nemona called the first attack, “Pierce Iron Defense! Fuerte, Quick attack!”
Pierce folded her arms accordingly, and focused on her iron will to win this fight. The fur on her white mane turned to a gray metal, heavier than normal but she could handle it.
While Fuerte threw himself onto the grey dog.
“Kurumi, use bite on the Floragato!” Carmine declared, “Harunori, Stun spore the Lycanroc!”
The little ghost floated toward the Pierce, and she began building up friction in her paws. She could feel an ember sparking between her pads. With her visor on she wouldn’t give into the light.
Soon her entire left paw caught fire in an elegant, scarlet flame.
“RAHHH!” She threw a flaming fist at her grassy opponent.
“Oh goodness!” They frantically hovered away. As her paw burned out, she saw that Fuerte was spilling blood out of his leg. With her metallic back she went over to shield him in his vulnerability.
“Pierce…” Fuerte struggled, “It hurts so much…”
There was an entire bite mark semented into his spring green pelt.
“Get to Nemona, she’ll heal you!” Pierce urged him.
She could feel Harunori trying to absorb energy off of her metal coat. Fuerte’s eyes watered as he tried to stand up. Without putting any pressure on his leg, he scampered to Nemona on all fours. Never send a kitten to do a wolf’s job! Fixated on the ghost, Pierce formed a ring of stalagmites around Kurumi. She made sure they stretched out of the ground enough so that the little dog couldn’t jump out of it. No other opponent could distract her from keeping Nemona’s title! Harunori hovered their distance, knowing well of the Lycanroc’s newfound fire.
“Pierce,” Nemona called to her, holding her tera orb harnessing light particles, “Get ready!”
Took you long enough, she joked. She kept her visor close to her face to shield herself from the overwhelming light. She could sense an energy beginning to grow and shift beneath her feet. Fractals of rock reaching up to her paws. Pierce shut her eyes allowing herself to merge with the earth’s heart. Raw crystals rose, chillingly frigid like a thick chunk of ice. The coldness spread around her body coating her fur in a crystalline layer, it even consumed her metal mane. Pierce’s heart pulsed intensely. Boiling blood flowed through her veins like unsurfaced magma. She felt less connected to the earth but had the strength to break it apart. When she opened her eyes, she remerged. Her body was shimmered a twinkled like a freshly polished garnet, and she adorned a crystal Tera crown of a fighting type. Can’t drain me now! She began preparing her Focus Punch while her opponent’s trainer followed suit. As Harunori terastalized, Fuerte returned to battle.
“Woah,” he marvelled as the Lycanroc’s terastal form.
“Shush! I need concentration!” Pierce tightened her fist, power swelling in her paw.
Once the little ghost reappeared from the iridescent stones with a flowered crown, Pierce made her move. She leaped into the air as high as she could go. Within a few moments, she would have them, but she never felt the glassy surface of a bowl hit against her knuckles. She landed on the ground missing her target once again. Dammit!
“Wow, that was sad!” Harunori laughed.
The little ghost began whisking themselves with their bamboo whisk. As if mixing themselves into a good brew.
“This will warm you up!” Harunori projected globs of his own body at Pierce.
A single drop splashed her body with a piping-hot burn, “Agggh!” She wasn’t as used to heat when she terastalized.
It was agonizingly scalding as the tea trickled off her glassy body. This can’t be how I lose! This is far from my last fight! Her thighs ached from doing a single leap.
“You can still fight!” She reminded herself of Xiomara’s advice: “Your body is just showing age. You’ll have to accept that and work with it.”
If I can’t jump, how am I going to reach them now?
As she tried to strategize a solution, Harunori began whisking another attack.
“No hard feelings!” The ghost cackled.
Suddenly a flash of pink swung around the Harunori’s bowl and they soon found themselves grappled by a vine.
“What the-,” they inspected the vine caught off guard.
Fuerte was holding the other end tight, “Pierce now’s your chance!” He heeded her.
Not bad! Pierce curled her paw and readied a punch. With a boost in her typing she didn’t need to wait another moment, and cast her Focus Punch.
The sound of two crystals touching hummed, and Pierce felt the sweet relief of a landed hit. Harunori’s amorphous body stretched and spilled on the blue battle court.
Yet the little tea master still had their crown and their diamond body didn’t shatter. Pierce knew one Fire Punch would do the trick.
Once Harunori pulled themselves back together they floated down to Pierce’s ring of stalagmites to retrieve their companion.
“Get in there and fight!” the ghost fussed, “We’re so close, and we’re not going to be thwarted by some stone-age wolf and her little kitten!”
“Well, you heard them, Pussycat!” Pierce ushered, “Let’s thwart!”
“Fuerte use Magical leaf!” Nemona cheered.
Fuerte took to twirling his vine to create a flurry of magical leaves. A thick whirlwind of bioluminescent green spun around, obscuring its opponents.
“Go in and be careful!” Fuerte informed her.
Pierce fled into the leaf storm, feeling the sharp edges of the leaves slice against her even with her terastallized body. She scanned for any sign of the Sinischa but it was no use. They might as well use the leaves to blend in.
Sparking a flame with her fist, any leaves that she touched crumbled into flakes of ash. But soon they found them.
“Rah!” She threw another fist in their direction.
Harunori spun away from the flame, almost splashing themselves onto their opponent.
This is perfect, Pierce thought satisfied, they’re starting to slow down. But they could also be faking it.
“Fuerte!” The wolf barked to their teammate, “Tie them up again!”
The Floragato responsively twirled their vine around confidently and launched it at the Sinsischa. Before they knew it they were tangled in his grasp.
Although Pierce had every reason to knock Harunori into next week, she didn’t want to push herself. She looked at Fuerte, he was waiting for her to make the last move. In his gaze she noted how intently he was relying on her. This cat had so much potential already why did he need to look up to such an old wolf? I’ve had my glory moments, maybe it’s time to give him his time in the spotlight.
“You do it Fuerte…” Pierce barked, “Do it now!”
With that command Fuerte lashed his vine letting a crack boom across the atmosphere. The bowl plummeted far down to the ground, Harunori flung from his shell becoming nothing more than a puddle of hot tea.
…
The sunlight poured down onto the battlefield, the next mourning. The sky was pleasant shade of blue, with not a cloud in the sky After the battle, Fuerte’s leg was bandaged and his strut had a limp to it. Only time would tell if it would be permanent. Harunori seemed to be doing much better in comparison, with more cracks being filled with their solution.
“Now I certainly hope there are no hard feelings,” the tea spirit began to apologize, “I was only doing my trainer’s bidding… our home region is so small, my master thought if became Champion in a dual it would give Kitakami the chance to start a league.”
“No worries, I get it,” Pierce nodded.
In the far distance their respective trainers attempted to make a mends. Pierce noted how much less restrained Carmine was compared to her Pokemon. Her attitude being more explosive than a Fortress. As Harunori drifted away, the Lycanroc turned to the limping Floragato.
“You're the one who wanted a scar on your leg,” she smirked.
“Flank!” Fuerte added, “I wanted a scar on my flank!”
“Oh, Fuerte,” the crimson wolf admitted, “We can never choose where we get them.”
Fuerte glared down at his paws, ashamed. Pierce nudged him to chin up and stamped her foot on the ground and conjured a stalagmite that rose from the turf grass.
“If you want to be an ace teammate we better get you into shape,” She told him.
“Training? Right now?!” Fuerte complained before even starting.
Pierce gave him the gentle truth, “Fuerte, I must retire eventually. I’m not as limber as I used to be, but if I’m going to retire I want Nemona to have someone strong carry the team.”
Taking a moment to process all the information, Fuerte responded, “Where do I start?”

Into the spider-verse: Xiomara’s intro
Sum: this is my intro to my au fanfic. Puerto Rico’s Araña-Mujer & it takes place on Earth 906. This starts in Xi’s POV‼️
A/n: The other characters come in later. The story really starts after her intro so this of this rlly as an intro/pt.1 ‼️ In this story Xiomara does end up with Miles G. Morales. HOWEVER, this is being posted as a test to see ‘how good’..this fic is. This is basically a ‘rough draft’ I’ve honestly barely edited this. I have read thru it so hopefully I didn’t miss any BIG errors. I just wanna see if others enjoy this or if maybe I get thrown suggestions. If this does good I’ll possibly continue with this fanfic on here :))
Okay let’s get this started , Hi I’m Xiomara Marina Aguillar . Puerto Rico’s one and only Spider girl. I got bitten by a radio active spider on a school field trip to Oscorp Labs for a career day. My spider bite gave me special venom powers through nails that can temporarily paralyze my victim. As well as camouflage effect that allows me to blend into any surroundings, also my body temperature drops leaving me undetectable to heat vision. I’m 15 years old and attend Visions, the center of advanced studies..It’s..It’s really just a highschool, but I like to remind myself of what my papa said to me. “Mija, you earned your place at that school! I’ll be damned to see stuck up children run you away from a proper education!!” Something my father didn’t have growing up. I tested very highly my whole life and always got good grades, school and education came so naturally to me..friends..not so much.
It was my papa’s dream for me to go to this school , so who was my mother to deny a man on his deathbed his dream for his eldest daughter right?…he..hehe. Yeahhh uh…My pa, he’s gone…He passed away when I was 13 from Cancer, but I don't like to remember him as a Cancer patient! I like to remember him for just being my papa. The one cracking jokes, cooking good food and saving lives as a firefighter…
I always wished he never got sick because then I just know..My life wouldn’t be the way it is now..
Months after my papa’s death my mother went downhill even almost lost her nursing license. She picked up drinking and smoking cigarettes heavily, also picking up extreme hours at the hospital to try to keep us afloat. She liked to claim all the hours were for keeping us afloat..a part of me believed that. That she was still the mami who used to give pep talks and smother you in kisses every morning, but really I knew it was also to feed her addiction..Apart of my mom still wanted to be a mother but sometimes couldn't bare to look at us and so I tried really hard to shelter my siblings from this part of her, but as they got older they became coherent to their surroundings . It was hard for us emotionally and financially, we were even still paying off his medical bills and that alone was a struggle to do.. Don’t get me wrong, my parents both made good money. I wouldn’t say we are DIRT poor as of right now, just struggling.. Those bills were just always a harsh reminder to us that he was gone..
We even lived in a beautiful house when he was alive but the hospital bills, caring for us, our wants and needs no matter what, bills..It swallowed them as his hours at work decreased more and more due to his cancer getting worse. Eventually putting him on disability we slowly got back afloat, but when he passed and we no longer got his disability income we lost our home and my mom lost her sanity. My parents worked so hard their whole lives to get us outta the hood for us to end up right back there . As I stated my mami kinda went..loco, She wasn’t herself any more, gave us no attention and became very cold and mean as the alcohol addiction increased so I picked up the care of my younger siblings and our apartment we moved into after the loss of the house. It was just my moms job to give me her paycheck to get it ALL done..Eventually we would argue about the money and costs of her habits so I had to pick up a job to pick up her slack..But that's enough of my life story let’s just get into it…
To be continued..?

BASICS
Name: Xiomara "Xo" Hernandez
Age & Birthday: 40 & March 18, 1983
Gender/Pronouns: Cis Woman & She/Her
Birthplace: Guadalajara, Mexico
Time in Atlanta: 33 years
Neighborhood: Center Hill
Association: None
Occupation: Owner of Nectar Cafe
Positive personality traits: exuberant, industrious, innovative, present, supportive, Negative personality traits: fiery, reactive, stubborn
Faceclaim: Jessica Alba
ABOUT
Xiomara moved to Atlanta when she was just a girl. Both her parents had worked hard to get them to America to join their family who'd made the journey before them. Xo grew up with cousins as far as the eye could see. But life can take a turn when you least expect it and hers did when her father didn't come home from work one day. He'd been sent back to their hometown without notice. Xo considers that day the day everything changed. When she grew up just a little bit more, taking odd jobs to help her mom. Family did what they could but everyone had a tough time in Center Hill.
Over the years, she and her mom, Mercedes, fell into a steady rhythm, survival at the top of mind. When they received news of her father's passing, it nearly broke their hearts but it still didn't stop Xo from looking at possibilities around her. It didn't stop her from seeing her mother struggle to keep her head up. It didn't stop her from trying to working smarter. Selling ice pops to other kids for cheap but not as cheap as it took to make them. It was still cheaper than the ice cream truck. Between that and selling flowers she'd cut from Brookwood gardens, Xo was always coming up with a new business plan. She considered herself industrious because she had to be – because nothing was every clean cut in Center Hill.
Growing up on the rough side of town also meant running into a colorful array of individuals. By the time she was in high school, much of her extended family had moved to other parts of the state, or to other places in general. Cousins she might've closed rank with were no longer there and she ended up finding friendship and eventually more with Rhea Steele and Wolf Cross.
Telling her mom she was expecting at eighteen was probably the scariest thing she'd done, but Mercedes was overjoyed to have grandkids (especially since her sister didn't yet after boasting that her Xo's cousin married a banker). When Luna and Luca were born, Xo knew that she'd do right by them. She felt it in her bones. They'd be okay. And with the addition of Halo to their lives and hearts, Rhea's son, Wolf's daughter –– she felt like she had when she was growing up. Surrounded by a large family of people who cared.
Over the years she continued to work hard, taking jobs from waitressing to bartending to nannying. She's never been able to sit still and the years reflect that, especially these days. She's recently opened Nectar Cafe in Center Hill, as a spot to foster community and provide a space for the kids and families. She's incredibly proud of it and how well it's been doing so far, and know she couldn't have done it without support from her family.

Summoning Trouble Character Intros
Valentina De Luca
Age: 25
Occupation: Social Media Manager
Specialty: Charms (especially illusion charms)
Meet Val, the social media manager for Xiomara Romero Designs and Thorn Street Investigations and the third member of the team before the start of the story.
She created the charm that changes hair color. (Her natural hair color is very dark brown)
Without her, Thorn Street would be dead in the water. She generates most of the traffic for them.
Val met Cici when she was hired on as her social media manager (to take photos for her, and their moms knew each other, it wasn't that exciting) and romance blossomed. Val is fun, energetic, charismatic, always speaks her mind, and is extremely ride or die for her friends (mostly David and Lin). She's very smart and incredibly creative, but sometimes loses her head under pressure.
Other Tidbits
Met Lin in university and quickly became best friends with him
is the only member of the team without any combat skills
used to dye her hair but hated the smell so she came up with the charms on her own
Lesbian
Is constantly trying to help Wallace and David stop working and actually get some social interaction and maybe a date once in a while
to varying degrees of success (none)
if she was good under pressure would be amazing in a fight
but she's not she just throws things
mixed race (mom is Indian dad is Italian)

So I think I am gonna torture myself by creating an AMV for this song. I have been up for the past five and a half hours (as of 9 am) working on a rough conceptual outline for this.
I'm also gonna post this in its WIP state, because I'm eepy and I also want y'all's input. I'm a little unsure on where to go from what I have so far and how to structure my very loose ideas for the rest.
Page break because this is really fucking long.
So the song is divided into ten main parts: the intro¹, a dialogue line², verse 1 (4 lines)³, chorus 1 (4 repeated lines, 4 different alternating repeated lines)⁴, verse 2 (5 lines)⁵, chorus 2 (4 lines, 8 lines)⁶, a bridge (3 distinct segments)⁷, verse 3 (4 lines)⁸, chorus 3 (4 lines, 8 lines)⁹, and the outro¹⁰.
I'm gonna write out my notes here, but, warning, they will be very simple, very brief, and highly specific to the lore of one of my character projects. I have a few bonus details at the bottom that might provide some context, but I don't know how understandable any of them are. I still wanna share this though, so y'all get to see it. I'll draw up a rough storyboard soon.
1: INTRO
Title card stuff (song credits, programs used, maybe my socials, etc). Exterior (only during beginning of credits) and interior shots of the base, probably with shots of the main gang playing a board game. Gravel gets up to find an Uno deck. If I go this route, I must show it holding the deck of cards while walking out into the hallway. Cut here.
2: DIALOGUE LINE
" Liberty this is Freedom. Do you read me?"
Fed speaking into a radio (lipsync).
Note: I can't make out what's said here. None of the lyric transcriptions I found had it. I am. A little upset.
Note #2: A FRIEND FIGURED IT OUT !!!
2.5
Feds surrounding the base (a little far off, behind and a little above. Mostly shapes in the shadows).
3: VERSE 1
"Circling overhead as the shadow hits the ground."
Upwards shot of the building and some surveillance drones hovering above.
"Renegade insurgents surround the compound."
Feds closing in (shot right up at one's face. Pointing right). Cut and slight slow zoom to door.
"Murderous intentions, a mission of ill reprieve."
Fed steps through the doorway. Cut to staircase. Cut back to a close up of his face (expression hardens).
"Complex situation, undone by evil deeds."
Cut to fed stepping onto the bottom few steps. Looks up and sees Gravel.
3.5
Fed quickly raises his gun. Others behind him also ready themselves.
4: CHORUS 1
"Don't take him alive."
Lipsync of lyrics (by main fed to his lackeys) (3/4 side, facing right).
"Don't take him alive."
Gravel tenses up (3/4 front from slightly below, facing left).
"Don't take him alive."
Gun raised. Fed begins advancing (face/gun close-up, directly to the side, facing right). Cuts to Gravel slowly backing up (bottom of shot is just below torso, directly to the side, facing left).
"Don't take him alive."
Gravel hits the wall (pan as if cameraman was standing still from their point previously. Now shot is a more frontal view of Gravel. Tip of the fed's gun comes into view on the left side). Gravel looks down/to its left side anxiously, sees button. It sneers.
Cut to close up of Gravel's hand (left side). It forms a fist and slams the button hard.
"Paralyzed."
Gravel transforms into its VP form and spreads its wings.
"Kill zone red, shoot the eye."
Cut to the rest of the gang in a room. Vincenc is to the side tinkering with some small machinery; Seo-Joon is in a chair researching; Asilia, Xiomara, and Zashil are on the floor playing a board game. All shoot up as they feel their VP powers kick on.
"Paralyzed."
Xiomara and Asilia usher Zashil to a small room in the back. Meanwhile, Seo-Joon heads for a computer screen to the side to check the cameras. Xiomara and Asilia crowd around to look. Cuts to camera view. Gravel is beating the shit out of the feds, but is losing. It runs.
"Kill zone red, shoot the eye."
Vincenc enters a dim storage room (shot from just outside the doorway, Vincenc facing right). He picks up some protective gear from the right side and a bomb from just next to the view (shot is stationary, from a shelf facing just right of the doorway and up enough to see Vincenc's face).
4.5
Sneaking, scheming, etc. View of Asilia and Xiomara staring at the cameras with concern. Cut to Seo-Joon with a determined expression.
Asilia and Xiomara travel together, peeking around corners. Cut to shot from next to the abandoned Uno deck (pointing up and at the two). Cut to Vincenc placing and rigging bombs of various kinds around the base (far off shot, maybe a pan through a wall from previous shot. Slows briefly to show Vincenc and then continues. Blacks out at next wall).
Pan up onto Zashil (facing left) sitting behind some furniture. He's anxious and knows he should stay put, but really wants to help. He stands. Cut to him exiting the doorway. Pan to another hallway (right at a corner). Gravel turns the corner, shaken, somewhat frantic, speedwalking through (frontal shot, zoom slightly into face).
5: VERSE 2 ¹
"A killing ground for tyrants. Get down on your knees."
Cut to same shot but of the main fed, storming through the halls. He's bruised, disheveled, and pissed.
"A gun in your mouth will fill all your needs."
"Brainwashed solutions, torture and disease."
"Final retribution for everyone to see."
6: CHORUS 2 ²
"Don't take him alive."
"Don't take him alive."
"Don't take him alive."
"Don't take him alive."
"Paralyzed."
"Kill zone red, shoot the eye."
"Paralyzed."
"Kill zone red, shoot the eye."
"Paralyzed."
"Kill zone red, shoot the eye."
"Paralyzed."
"Kill zone red, shoot the eye."
7: BRIDGE ³
8: VERSE 3 ⁴
"Captivate, captivate."
"Captivate, captivate."
"Obliterate, obliterate."
"Incinerate, incinerate."
9: CHORUS 3 ⁵
"Don't take him alive."
"Don't take him alive."
"Don't take him alive."
"Don't take him alive."
"Paralyzed."
"Kill zone red, shoot the eye."
"Paralyzed."
"Kill zone red, shoot the eye."
"Paralyzed."
"Kill zone red, shoot the eye."
"Paralyzed."
"Kill zone red, shoot the eye."
10: OUTRO ⁶
Extra scattered notes for potential scenes:
¹ thinking somewhere around here, Zashil runs out in front of the feds, and they try to shoot him. Asilia sees this, runs over, flashbangs the feds, grabs Zashil, and books it.
² the feds in all their chaos step on a bomb of some kind (smoke or explosive, not sure yet). Xiomara should absolutely create a massive fireball and just beat the shit out of them. Seo-Joon probably helps fan the flames.
³ action shit and transitional scenes. Feds probably beat the shit out of the gang, and they have to fall back to the portal room (the thing they're trying to defend). Shenanigans ensue.
⁴ thinking this should be like the climax of the fight. Everybody's pissed and desperate and fighting with everything they've got. Lots and lots of action here. Anyway, the VP gang turns the tides around the last verse, and they know it.
⁵ this one I think would be cool if it was like a similar scene to Chorus 1. Gravel says, "Don't take him alive," and they advance on the last dude, who should probably be the OG main fed. They threaten him, probably try to kill him, he runs and escapes into the night.
⁶ probably the gang just kinda looking out into the streets.
Bonus context:
This is a super dystopian, cyberpunk type thing. There's like this group of people who have certain powers, which are 'activated' via a specific sound frequency that kinda wakes up the part of their brain that deals with that power. This is easiest to do in the Virtual Plane (name is still in the works), which is sort of an alternate reality, but in an empty world that kindof automatically emits this frequency. The people who found this place built a bunch of stuff for folks to exist and chill. It takes a fuckton of energy to run though, so it's not open too often. The government doesn't really know anything, but they've heard rumors of people developing powers and have like seen some shit to suggest that's true, so they're looking into it. They do not like it, because it gives power to anarchists (who make up most of the folks in this superpowered in-group, since it's all a very well-kept secret). It's a whole thing. The concept in this AMV is that the feds tracked down one of the portals and are doing a raid to figure out what's going on, and also probably destroy anything that enables folks' superpowers.
As for the gang itself, I've posted drawings of them before. They're very strongly based on my friends, especially my internet found family. They are also in some ways based on different aspects of myself, especially at different times in my life. They're all still in progress, but I love them a lot. Anyway, their powers and such are as follows:
Gravel (18, it/its) has physical enhancements, and essentially has an alternate form. Vincenc (19, he/him) has electricity powers. Asilia (22, she/her) has light powers. Seo-Joon (26, he/him) has wind/air powers. Xiomara (20, she/they) has fire powers. And Zashil (13, he/him) levitates.
I am going to test something. Hold on.
#god this is such an endeavor#i wanted to fucking animate this#youch#i might just do a sloppy animatic tbh#but idk#we'l see how it goes#screenplay#oc amv#oc lore#concept idea#writing#film#virtual plane gang#front line assembly#music#my writing#btw if anyone can make out what that one line is i will love you forever#long post

Rolanda Hooch: Character Intro
Character Name: Rolanda Xiomara Hooch
Age & Birthday: 02 April 1947
Gender & Pronouns: Female; She/Her
Blood status: Half-Breed (Harpy)
Sided: Order of the Phoenix supporter
Occupation: Retired Holyhead Harpies Chaser; Hogwarts Flying Instructor
School
Hogwarts Slytherin Alumni
Quidditch Captain/Chaser
Bio
GROWING UP
Rolanda was born to an unknown woman in an unknown location, left on her muggle father’s doorstep with naught but the basket she was left in, and her birth certificate. To this day, she isn’t sure if Garret Hooch is truly her father, or if he had fallen prey to a game or con of a magical being, leaving her a changeling in an unforgiving world. Her father did his best by her, working hard as a lighthouse tender in the South Stack lighthouse of Holyhead, thinking nothing of her parentage with her wild mop of fiery hair and golden eyes.
She often assisted him as best she could, feeling free with the sea air in her hair, and standing on the railing looking out over the ocean. His first hint as to what she was happened when her fiery red hair started bleaching out more and more until it grew in so brightly blonde it was no longer able to be passed off as simple bleaching of the sun.
Unfortunately for him, it was in a burst of accidental magic during a temper tantrum that saw him suffering a broken spine. While the doctors were able to give him most of his ability to walk, the pain would linger for the rest of his life. He self-medicated this pain with more and more whiskey as time went on, growing apathetic and leaving more of his work to young Rolanda. She learned after that unfortunate incident to contain her wild temper for more appropriate time and place, leaving many of the empty bottles of whiskey shattered under the force of thrown rocks in the small backyard of the ramshackle home she grew up in.
START OF THE WAR
Her Hogwarts letter answered many questions she didn’t even know she had, and the magical world at first seemed just that: magical. She thought she’d found a place where she actually belonged. But then she learned the darker portion of the wizarding world when she was 14, having run afoul of a member of the Department of Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures when he correctly identified her as harpy-blooded and she found faces that had previously been welcoming suddenly outright hostile.
But her escape was taking to the skies as if she was born there, often being found with wind-wild hair and a nearly feral look to her eyes. But she’d found something she was good at–great even, and even those that hated her for what she was couldn’t deny her talent nor skill. Though even as she began making a name for herself, she continued going home, picking up after her father, and working in the lighthouse every summer.
Just prior to graduation, she was offered an opportunity to try out for the Pride of Portree where she made starting chaser straight out of Hogwarts. She played for the Pride for three years before being offered a position with the Holyhead Harpies, and while the contract earned slightly less, she took it for the opportunity to live near her father to better be able to care for him.
She was a Quidditch player by day and a caretaker by night for five years before Garret succumbed to his age and his injuries. She went through a rough time then, drinking and womanizing her way through players and fans alike until the lifestyle ended with a pair of bludgers to the back while playing the Magpies, shattering her spine, shoulderblade, and tearing all of the connective tissue in her left shoulder and elbow. While St. Mungos could fix most of it, the nerve damage in her left arm was too great to continue competing at the professional level, so she found herself medically retired and unemployed.
PRESENT TIME
Dumbledore was her saving grace, offering her the newly open position of Flying Instructor with the understanding she would also fill the role of Quidditch officiant on game days. And while it wasn’t her dream, she was still connected to the skies and given a home once again. Albeit, with the explicit understanding that the drinking and womanizing was to stop, for she was now a member of Hogwarts staff and would be expected to live up to everything that entailed.

Star Trek DS9 - First thoughts after the first episode
Might also be the first two? Netflix labels it as a part 1&2 but they are like, connected?
- My DS9 mutuals made me believe that this was a romantic story between Liquid Man and Quark. I am not getting that impression yet. This isn’t a homoerotic slashfic, this is a treatise on politics
- Last time I interacted with Star Trek in any meaningful capacity was at the age of 14 when some obscure German television channel ran dubbed episodes of TNG. I didn’t pick up on it back then but they certainly made some heavy choices in the writing of the Ferengi. I hope I am just imagining things but it feels really bad
- Liquid Man looks like my grandfather on my father’s side. I do not like that. Also, the only major spoilers I have for this show is that he is like a quadrupel agent or something? Don’t know what I think about him
- Xiomara was so goddamn spot on when she said I would love Kira. Exactly the stuff my blorbos are made out of. Firstly, she is hot, and secondly, she is correct; why should the Bajorans shed the Cardassian occupation just to subject themselves to the hegemony of the Federation? The only meaningful difference between the Federation and the Cardassians is that one has intense soft power and the others have hard power. I know this is a Star Trek show so the Federation have to be the good guys and Kira will slowly learn to trust and at the end of the show be in support of the Bajorans joining the Federation. But! If TNG is anything to go on, a third to half of the main cast will inevitably end up with evil clones/models of the same design/parallel universe selfs as the show goes on. Can I get an “evil” alternate universe Kira that blows up Federation Ships and breaks Picard’s nose or something. Please. As a treat.
- Speaking of Picard; I have only watched TNG in German and since then, I have only heard Patrick Stewarts voice as Uriel Septim and (in my memory more importantly) Richard III. So. Uh. Weird. I can’t trust this voice after hearing it speak so many wonderfully evil Shakespearean monologues.
- Speaking of Captains, my goddesses, is Sisko acted well. Genuinely surprised how good he portrays the emotions of a traumatized, grieving man trying to outrun the call of destiny. I am just afraid that your name is one of the first to appear in the intro, good captain; you can’t deny the call, I am afraid. “You exist here” and “It is not linear” got to me.
- Sisko called Worm Lady “old man” and she is now a genderqueer transfem in my mind.
- Genuinely positive reaction to Kira shutting down the doctor for romanticizing “frontier medicine”. I love her. She should be allowed to break more people’s noses. I am not sure if this show will manage to meaningfully address the colonial narratives imbued in the original Star Trek but at least we get that moment.
- O’Brien becoming permanent cast member is nice but! I feel this station could profit from an openly slutty bisexual. Send Riker, too.
- One of my mutuals has Gul Dukat as a pfp and hm. I mean he is as pompous as he is pathetic and could become an interesting character but just like Liquid Man I am not seeing it yet
- Not to be a lesbian but Kira’s nose...
#kass watches DS9#this isn't any serious analysis it's just the thoughts that appeared in my mind#admittedly 90% of my thoughts regarding this episode are wamen... pretty... in regards to Kira and Worm Lady#but I filtered those out for convenience's sake

Can we get an intro with Fujin at the 4lifers?📣
Fujin: You are the result of Raiden's coupling with Ambrosia?
Soleil: Something that I intended to keep private.
Fujin: I see issue when you have his visage.
Fujin: You have Raiden's thunder.
Soleil: And my mother's fire.
Fujin: And both their tempers.
Fujin: You are born from Phoenix fire?
Soleil: The strongest Hellfire known to man.
Fujin: The very reason why Scorpion wants you dead.
Fujin: You saved Raiden from the darkness.
Soleil: I simply took my father's place.
Fujin: You have done all realms a great service.
Fujin: Is it to late to say welcome to the family.
Soleil: Better late than never Fujin.
Fujin: You are the vibrancy we need in Earthrealm.
Fujin: In Raiden's absence, I tried my best to protect you.
Soleil: That meant threatening Rain with his life?!
Fujin: He has induced your fire Soleil!
Fujin: You are Outworld's Huntress?
Soleil: A title that rivals the assassin.
Fujin: Jade must humble you.
Fujin: You don't support Jade's marriage?
Soleil: I support Jade alone not Ko'atal.
Fujin: Being selfish does not suit you, Xiomara.
Korë: We should have no quarrel.
Fujin: You being Shang Tsung's bride isn't enough?
Korë: I've never known for you to be spiteful.
Korë: You are the cause of my mother's death!
Fujin: I was meant to protect her but Shinnok's jealousy intervened.
Korë: And for your failure you tried covering it up.
Fujin: You are Nyx's creation?
Korë: Along with Selene and Sindel.
Fujin: You were doomed from the beginning.
Fujin: You are kin to Daneiris?
Korë: Yes, so if you hurt her I will give Raiden another reason to go Dark.
Fujin: You are Nyx's child.
Fujin: I offer you my protection Korë.
Korë: The same protection you promised my mother?
Fujin: I won't get on my knees and beg for forgiveness Novanna.
Fujin: The Last Divine Royal. The Last Outworld Royal. The Last Edenian Royal.
Korë: I will only be known as the Divine Royal.
Fujin: You are also known for other things Korë.
Fujin: You have the Kamidogu?
Korë: I am collecting them.
Fujin: For what purpose?
Fujin: I find it intriguing that Kitana accepts you as a sister more than Mileena.
Korë: Do not put yourself into Edenian affairs I'm trying to help them.
Fujin: You are not a good liar Novalie.
Fujin: You question my love for you?
Daneiris: Not your love. Your alliances to Shang Tsung.
Fujin: To restore the revenants he must stay alive.
Fujin: You knew Shujinko?
Daneiris: He was a friend and a mentor.
Fujin: Did you kill him?
Fujin: The firstborn of Queen Nyx.
Daneiris: So you figured it out?
Fujin: Similarity is uncanny.
Fujin: Which is it? Queen of Outworld or Protector of Outworld?
Daneiris: I would prefer 'Lover'.
Fujin: We'll settle for 'Wife'.
Fujin: When does the killing stop?
Daneiris: When my hunger is satisfied.
Fujin: Do not let this get out of hand.
Fujin: Kitana and Mileena both hold places in your heart?
Daneiris: I have grown fond of them.
Fujin: Enough to take their thrones?
Fujin: Onaga is calling out to you?
Daneiris: More and more as I sit on Outworld'a Throne.
Fujin: He shall not hold sway.
Fujin: The Draconic Fae.
Daneiris: Just call me Enchantress.
Fujin: With those eyes?
