delicate things they do ⟡ kazuha, xiao, diluc, childe, and albedo
synopsis my thoughts on the cute and romantic things they would do in a relationship
warnings fluff, gn!reader, modern!au, they just love u so much
NOTES guys i love my beloved boys kinda miss maining them tbh - also new layout for my intro thing yipee
Tumblr media
kazuha loves writing little love notes on a sticky note to place on your bedside table. he loves writing encouraging notes for you to read every morning. when he has morning classes and you don't, he will write 'i have morning classes :( hope you slept well, my love <3 i finish around noon today so wait for me, yeah? i'll take you out to lunch later'.
xiao isn't the most touchy person, and he prefers to keep his personal space. however, when you are walking to campus or anywhere together, he will link your pinkies together instead of holding your hand. to him, linking your pinkies together just seems more intimate to him, especially since he doesn't really like pda that much.
diluc names a drink after you. not your full name, but something that just reminds him of you. it's a sweet and cute act that you can't help but smile when he tells you about it (his ears turn red and he can't meet your eyes). it may be a strong drink or even a soft drink, but he makes the drink so pretty that you can't help but take lots of pictures of it.
childe loves sending you letters when he's away on a mission. even if he's busy, he will make time for you and write you a two-page letter, telling you how he's been doing, how the mission is going, and how much he misses you — it's always a two-page letter. he might send you back a small trinket from wherever he's going in the letter.
albedo helps you with studies. it doesn't seem so intimate or romantic, but he genuinely loves helping you with things you don't understand. he's really patient with you and is willing to go over the explanation again if you don't understand. once you successfully finish a question, he will reward you with a kiss.

Comfort after a storm
Xiao x gn!reader ,established relationship
Tags: fluff, slight angst at the beginning, cutie patootie alert
(how we feeling about the new layout guys 😳😳 upgrade???)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Xiao had gotten in a fight but Xiao had teleported away in the middle of it leaving you fuming.
In that fuming state you crashed around your house, tossing pillows breaking plates, kicking over fake plants (Xiao doesn't want to take care of a real plant in case he forgets to water it, he "doesn't want another death on his hands")
You were acting like a real storm and it wasn't until a few hours later Xiao teleported back and saw the mess you made. He dropped the almond tofu he had been eating the moment before and he just stood there in shock until he heard little sobs.
-
Soft knocks were heard at the door of your shared bedroom. A soft yet hoarse voice spoke out.
"[name] are you alright?.." he felt a bit embarrassed to ask already knowing the answer after hearing your cries. He waited for a few moments for an answer before opening the door. He stepped in slowly seeing your body curled up in the middle of the bed under a blanket.
"[name]" he spoke again reaching the end of the bed. You just peeked your head out from under the covers. The view made a slight smile crack on his lips.
"Would you accept it if I try to comfort you?" Xiao tilted his head slightly as he spoke, sitting on the edge of the bed. This was obviously a surprise to you, the way your eyes widened for a second and you stuck your head out more from under the covers. After all, Xiao was never really comforting in the normal way. He wasn't keen on physical affection or words of affirmation so him trying to comfort you made you slightly confused on how he would do it.
You hesitantly nodded and he went over to where you were on the bed and pulled the covers over himself too.
"i am not the best at cuddling...but allow me to try.." he muttered before pulling you into a hug. The gesture comforted you, you knew he didn't necessarily like physical affection but he was trying just for you.
Although you were still mad at him it wasn't as much as it was before.
"I'm sorry for just leaving you in the middle of our fight." He spoke after a moment. You nodded in acceptance before closing your eyes and resting your head on his shoulder.
It was really quiet in the room but it was comfortable, a small smile grew on his lips as you both soon drifted off to sleep.
You guys would just have to clean up tomorrow.

Before you go
Gender neutral reader, angst TW/CW: mention of death, angst. angst. Character(s): Xiao Word count: 937 Proofread: N/A | He wishes that you didn’t leave. | A/N: woah it’s been a while since i wrote this guy + new layout
---✴︎☽✴︎---
Until now, he’s always felt as if he wasn’t able to feel emotions–he did, yet it was never the full range that humans could.
Perhaps it was because he was an adeptus. Perhaps, it was because he’s always felt indebted.
Yet it changed when you had entered his cycle of life. You were different from him–more sociable, you showed your emotions with such clarity that he felt somewhat jealous.
Slowly, but surely, you taught him how to feel the things that he thought he could never. It was a slow process, but you were there, along the way, guiding his jaded feelings and hand, thawing the ice that covered his heart.
You taught him how to show his emotions, how to convey his feelings.
And the odd feeling that he felt around you occurred to him that it was affection, care–
That it was love.
He isn’t fond of love. But it didn’t feel uncomfortable either.
Yet he learned to tell you the emotions he felt, about you.
He wouldn’t have known that you’d feel the same. It was a surprise.
But when you took his gloved hands to your own, fingers intertwined, you smiled, and he thought he had seen the second sun be born.
It felt sweet, warm, fuzzy, like the warm sunlight at the start of spring–just right, not too cold, not too hot.
He wished for you to last forever.
He wished for the moment to last forever.
You were the source of his happiness in life, your smiles were the brief moments when he could be set free from all the screams of his karma that had burdened him.
To him, you were a breath of fresh air.
He knew that this could only last until he noticed how you became slightly more lethargic, tired, fatigued.
You only brushed it off as lack of sleep.
Yet you, yourself, knew it wasn’t. You felt the beats of your heart become more slower, the thumping becoming more audible each day as the sun and moon cycled through and through. The feeling of how your body shakes with each beat of your heart, its rhythm beating through your eardrums as you force out a shaky smile towards your lover who gazed at you with such worry and concern.
Soon, you’d become a regular at the pharmacy, you’d laugh out, watching the little bird hop onto your free hand as your lover stares at you with concern and confusion.
What do you mean? He’d say, the unusual tone of soft worry lacing his normally sharp voice.
You’d always shake your head, brushing it off as dark humour.
He’d never understand you, but he knew better than to tire you out more with topics you wanted to brush off.
But perhaps he should’ve asked you what you meant.
Your words became the truth in a short period of time.
When he’d normally stray from the city, he’d find himself carrying you, helping you up the steps towards the pharmacy as you’d weakly smile at the little lilac haired girl at the counter.
It was always the same; you’d greet Qiqi at the counter, and she’d bring Baizhu to you. He’d check on you, provide you medication, and you and your lover would leave.
But he couldn’t help but notice how the pills you’d be given started to increase and increase as the week would go by.
Sooner or later, you’d be unable to leave the pharmacy, where you were stationed inside–bedridden, where only visitors could come in. It felt difficult to open your eyes without strain, as if there were weights that pulled down on your eyelids, the weight increasing and increasing as nights pass. It was tiring to sit up at the bed, tiring to talk, eat, breathe.
Yet whenever he’d come by–which his visits seemed to become longer and longer as the days passed, you’d feel some energy come back, regaining a piece of your healthier self, smiling.
Qiqi would visit, sleepy eyes finding closure at your arms, as you and your lover watch with care.
You’d joke about your future children whenever she slept, as you laugh lightly with how your lover’s ears would become red like the carpets.
Yet you’d always tell him to never cry.
Well, you should cry, but not when I go. I want to see a smile before I leave, okay? You’d comment, and he would only nod.
Soon, you weren’t able to move.
You felt your life starting to dim, flickering on and off, fighting to live as it used up its fuel.
You knew you would be leaving soon.
He knew too.
Your breathing was shallow. It was light, quiet, smaller than a pin drop.
He could barely hear your heartbeat through your breathing.
Your hands became colder and stiffer, unable to hold his hand anymore.
You couldn’t speak. It was too much of a chore to speak.
Just the mere thin rope of living was the only job you could handle.
You waited until the flickering light of yourself would dim down, slowly but surely, as you try to pry your eyes open to see him one last time.
You saw him smile, still, the tears in his eyes were visible as ever.
Reaching out a shaky hand towards his face, you wipe Xiao’s tears before you lose yourself to the weight of death.
Your hand drops, as you muster a smile.
All Xiao was able to do was to watch.
And he wishes that he could’ve said something, rather than to watch you leave.
You don’t move, and all that was left was your smile.

Link Click Season Two Episode 3: Two Funerals
Tumblr media
After the initial two episode fare of this season, episode three certainly feels like it slows things down. Which is not a bad thing. It gives the story time to establish itself, to provide mystery and unspoken curiosities to the world, to allow for exploration of the new characters and their roles in the story, and it gives Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi time to work their magic. So certainly quite a bit to chat about with this episode!
I think the first thing that really tickles my brain is the oddities of the production for Link Click. Not that it's a bad thing, but that it's just decidedly different when compared to anime. Stuff like the letterboxing and the camera movement leave it very telling that this is a donghua rather than an anime. Bit hard to explain over words, but check out this panning shot. Feels.... wrong, right? Well, that's because of how it's shot. The way that the pan stops during the scene is different than what you'd normally see with anime, which continue the pan right to the end typically (or at the very least have it slow down before coming to a stop).
Tumblr media
Similarly, the production vastly prefers depth to breadth, which is an interesting idea. Considering the share of horizontal to vertical space, you might have thought the latter, but instead they choose the former. Detail doesn't come from side to side, rather it likes to appear from front to back. Take this layout for example.
Typically, if you're operating on breadth instead of depth, you'd be more inclined to place the focus (the older characters in track suits on the right) towards the center of the frame, while placing the supporting characters and details on either side of them. Focusing on depth first however allows for far more different shots that feel more grounded in 3-dimensional space.
Tumblr media
Anyways, the episode itself. We start with the older characters and/or masters of Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi waiting around in a hospital. Nothing too special, just establishing their characters and why they showed up to help Qiao Ling and Cheng Xiaoshi. Though I have to admit, some of the pieces through their short time here are comical as they have a run in with an incredibly drunk person.
Tumblr media
Of course, the trio of elderly leave this hospital and arrive at Lu Guang's (in style, obviously) to take on the mob that has surrounded Qiao Ling and Cheng Xiaoshi. I was really looking forward to some crazy action, but I also wasn't surprised when they kept things simple and skipped most of it. They gave two crazy action sequences back to back, so I think they can afford a bit of a break. Still, they delivered some cool and interesting sequences and a fun impact frame or two.
Also, fun little detail here. During this sequence, and before the impact frames, the father of the other two actually disappears in frame for a brief second. Fun little bit to give to people paying close attention.
Tumblr media
Also also, this gif provides an excellent example of that depth-first approach for the production. Rather than the left to right or vice versa you might usually see, they place the camera at an arbitrary spot in 3D space, and have the mob of characters run through the camera. Pieces like this really help establish Link Click's visual style.
Tumblr media
A similar example can be found in a follow-up scene of Qiao Ling and Cheng Xiaoshi after the fight. It really does look good, it's just that it might take a bit to get used to because of the letterboxing. Certainly makes me curious about the choice for it to be a consistent visual restraint considering how much they might be able to accomplish with a full scene.
Tumblr media
I haven't really talked about the story, have I? Well, up until this point it hasn't been anything super crazy, truthfully. The bad guys got beat up and are being interrogated, and Xiao Li comes to apologize to Qiao Ling and Cheng Xiaoshi. There's nothing crazy or important yet. That is, until Liu Min's father and entourage show up and butt heads with our current trio.
Tumblr media
The back and forth is more performative than substantive, but Qian Jin's interactions are most certainly the focal point. Establishing his prior history as a police officer, and the past that he shares with Xiao Li, an odd rivalry brews between him and Cheng Xiaoshi.
Tumblr media
It makes you really curious as to what led Qian Jin to his current station in life, and what it was that happened in this flashback we're shown by Xiao Li.
Anyways, the arguments come and go, and Qiao Ling ends it all with an incredibly satisfying slap that gets the first reaction out of Qian Jin in the whole conversation.
Tumblr media
It's an incredibly subtle difference, but his default grin does widen a bit after the interaction. I think it adds a good deal to the sort of slimy and snake-like personality that Qian Jin wields so far. Very curious to see how his role plays out given that his lackey is being detained.
Tumblr media
We move forward, and into Chen Bin's funeral. They do well with it as an emotional moment and bring out the best in Chen's now-widow to help give Cheng Xiaoshi the push he needs to solidify his desire to go back and prevent Chen Bin's death. I do think the emotional beat is well done, it's just that I'm not really one to be "all-in" on this sort of stuff myself, so I don't have too many words to say about it.
What I do have words to say about though is how Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang interact as the latter goes back in time. Also, just more of that whole Black and White/Ying and Yang theme here.
Tumblr media
Anyways, the biggest thing is how Cheng Xiaoshi asks Lu Guang for his help. He says that he wants to help the pair, which appeals to Lu Guang through the guilt they share for being the cause of Chen Bin's death. It's a great moment that establishes the hesitation the pair have in the use of their powers currently, and their overall intent in their reasoning for using them. A solid shift from their original purpose through season 1, though of course the natural conclusion of their experiences with it anyways.
Tumblr media
Of course, we end the episode on a cliffhanger though. That red-eyed guest from the prior episode? They didn't come to take over Lu Guang, they came to deliver a picture. Are they the same person that inhabited Qiao Ling at the end of S1/start of S2? It's hard to say, but the idea of the red eyes does beg quite the question.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The back of the photo is even more interesting when you know what it says. "Don't Die, Good Brother". Specifically "Gege" which is elder brother. Together with the drawing on the back of the young girl in the photo with an older brother, does it really mean what viewers might think it does? Is Lu Guang related to this pink haired girl somehow? Does she expect him and Cheng Xiaoshi to use the photo and learn something from it?
A far more intriguing ending than the episode itself might let on, this third episode works very hard to slow things down and draw them out so that viewers can have time to get attached to and understand the stories and characters that appear within. Of course, the quality is still way up there in terms of animation and direction, so it seems overall we've settled in for the long haul with a long term story compared to the more episodic approach of season 1. Really interested to see what they do with more time.

update part uhh, 3 (?)
Random thought, but I kind of wanna change my layout a bit. I don't know how to do that just yet, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
I'm working on a Xiao comfort fic, and nsfw Dan Heng (IBL) so eventually I'll get those out for you guys <3
I've thought about doing a stelle x dan heng x March, but I don't know how old march is so I'm unsure. She acts childish but also she seems close in age with the trailblazer and dan heng so, I'll keep it sfw for now until more lore comes out with her.
ill update again in a few days , hopefully I'll get rid of all of those drafts I have piled up ^^
Requests are open too, don't be afraid to leave some ideas for me !!

Tumblr media
Since we had fun with the last one and didn't start too many blood feuds with it, I'm bringing it back!
This round's a little different: Slots are for your favorite portrayal of your favorite character with that family name. Again, not best at acting, most book-appropriate, most morally correct, sexiest, whateve -- and it still neither means that all other versions are bad nor means other people are bad for liking them. Just your favorite.
...This is going to be the thing that tells you real quick whether or not someone is familiar with the Mystic Nine and/or Sand Sea, isn't it?
Anyway, I'll go first! WIth explanations behind the cut.
Tumblr media
Zhang Rishan: I love Xiao Ge, I want to shove him down the front of my shirt like the little black cat he is, but ... if I have to pick a Zhang, it's going to be that chipmunk-cheeked gremlin angel turned cranky bitch who texts like a grandpa.
Er Yue Hong: There's just not a lot of Hongs in the visual media, so this is probably going to come down for most people to, did you like better the one in the movie or the one in the drama? For me, I'm going to be like 90% of the ladies in the show and go for the cross-dressing wife guy.
Chen Wenjin: Auntie Wenjin wins this, partly because she's pretty baller in Ultimate Note, but also because the other Chens kinda suck. Big shoutout to Chen Pi Ah Si for being so fun to hate, though.
Wu Xie: The most babygirl, the one in my heart.
Huo Xiuxiu: This one surprised me by being the hardest decision on this grid! There's just so dang many Huos, and so many of them are absolute gems. Ultimate Note's jiejie-coded gymnast edges them all out, though, and wins her place in this spot by a nose.
Xie Yuchen: I did wind up curiously fond of his drug addict grandpappy with a stolen puppy and a huge abacus, but I didn't write an unnecessarily long and pornographic hurt/comfort fic for that executive homosexual; I did it for Xiao Hua.
Wang Pangzi. Practically perfect in every way.
Qi Tiezui: I wanted so badly to put a Qi space on this layout, but there's only one, played by only one person, so it's not much of a choice, and a completely unmakeable one if you're not familiar with the Mystic Nine series (unless you think Glasses counts, and that's debatable, since we don't really know what his name is). So I'm going to take my free space opportunity and give it to Ba Ye, the needy, batty religious studies major I way overidentify with. I want to kiss his fooby little face.

Hot Soup and Soft Bread 25
ToC and Synopsis <- Chapter 24 Read on WordPress
Chapter 25: Shiitake Mushroom Rice II
When Spring came, Qiuyan swapped to the night shift for some time. He got home after midnight, showered, changed into his pajamas, got under the covers, and planted a kiss on Cunqu’s hair. Cunqu hummed in response, half-asleep, habitually pressed his face into Qiuyan’s embrace and fell back asleep. Cunqu got up for work around nine in the morning. Recently, Qiuyan became passionate about buying matching couple outfits. Cunqu took off his pajamas and took out a sweatshirt from the closet. He pulled it on to try it on. The front of the sweatshirt had some silly-looking English words. It wasn’t Cunqu’s usual style at all.
Qiuyan flopped over in the bed onto his stomach and opened his eyes, complimenting him in a nasal tone: “Looks good.”
And so Cunqu ended up wearing that loose-fitting sweatshirt out the door.
When he entered the office, Shiyuan came out of the break room with a cup of coffee and said she thought a college student had somehow got in. Cunqu was just about to reply when he received a message on his phone. Qiuyan had sent a photo. He was wearing a similar sweatshirt and heading downstairs to A’Shan’s car mechanic shop for a car wash. Cunqu rubbed the few English words on his sweatshirt, didn’t say anything, and sat back down at his workstation.
When Shiyuan passed by his workstation later, she saw what was on his screen and suddenly stopped to ask: “No, but like, how could you take on private work right in front of me? As your boss, my feelings are hurt.”
Cunqu raised his head to look at her and smiled. He said: “I’m designing this for myself; it’s not for sale to anyone.”
Shiyuan pulled over a stool to sit down and look at the design sketch. A complete layout restructuring was done for a narrow two-floor shop. Collapsible windows were installed on the walls beside the shop’s doors, and a little porch made of wood was built right outside the windows. The second floor's windows were removed and were instead half-covered by a glass aquarium. Cunqu tapped against the aquarium with his tablet pen and said it would definitely be beautiful from afar when lit up at night.
Shiyuan asked: “And who is this beautiful design meant for?”
Cunqu twirled his pen and smiled without replying.
In the afternoon, temperatures started to rise. After his lunch break, Cunqu took off his sweatshirt. He was wearing a waffle-patterned white long-sleeve shirt on the inside. He finished the coffee on his desk and headed out the door after letting Shiyuan know.
The weather that afternoon felt a bit like summer had set in early. Unheeding of the season, the temperature rose all the way to 30 Celsius. Qiuyan and A'Shan finished their lunch and sat together in front of the neighborhood clinic across from the car mechanic shop to chat for a bit. A’Shan’s wife was a server at a fast-food restaurant and recently got pregnant. A’Shan said: “Because I keep telling her ‘be careful, be careful’ every day, she decided that our baby’s nickname will be ‘Xiao Xin’[1]”
Qiuyan rested his head against his palm and said: “It sounds pretty nice.”
A’Shan asked him: “Our godmother[2] hasn’t urged you to find a partner? I feel like, with her personality, she must have started bombarding you a long time ago.”
Qiuyan said: “Qiu Xuemei was just talking about this yesterday when she called me.”
Xuemei had devoted her efforts to standing before the village entrance with her friends, spreading the word that Qiuyan was optimistic, hardworking, and good at caring for people and that he was the best option for a husband. Soon, one of her friends said that there was a suitable choice. So Xuemei joyfully called Qiuyan yesterday to tell him: “That girl’s around your age. She’s also working in the city. She’s a hotel manager, and I feel like you guys are pretty suitable. I’ll send you a photo.”
Qiuyan had just finished the first round of bus driving that night. He sat under the shade of a tree and took a sip of water, replying: “I’m not interested.”
Xuemei argued noisily: “How would you know before meeting her? I’ve never pushed you before, but now you’re getting older…”
Qiuyan laughed and said to A’Shan: “Then I asked her if I said I was interested in someone who had returned from studying at a top university abroad, had a gentle personality, was very capable at work, preferably someone who was an architect, would she know anyone like that?”
A’Shan also started laughing. He asked, “What did Qiu Xuemei say?”
Qiuyan replied: “Qiu Xuemei said I was ill.”
The two of them looked at each other and laughed.
A’Shan got back up to return to work, and Qiuyan got into his car to head back home. He lowered the AC in the car by a degree. When he was almost at Breadfruit Street, he was briefly distracted by the thick foliage of the Plane trees above. He returned to himself, flicked on his turn signal, and suddenly spotted Cunqu standing by a shop on the left side of the street. Next to Cunqu stood a man wearing a suit. The two of them were talking about something, their heads lowered.
Qiuyan stopped his car and rolled down his window. He called Cunqu and asked: “Ge, what are you doing?”
Cunqu held his phone and glanced at the man beside him, replying: “Nothing in particular. I’m still working at the office.”
Qiuyan paused. He held his phone and didn’t say anything. Cunqu said: “What’s wrong?”
Qiuyan leaned back against his car seat and suddenly smiled, saying: “Ge, if you lie to me, I will be hurt. I see you.”
Cunqu lifted his head and looked left and right for him. He met Qiuyan’s gaze from the car window.
--
After Qiu Xuemei was hung up on by Qiuyan yesterday, her stubbornness flared up. She decided to drive her truck into the city today. She stopped the truck, wiped away the sweat on her forehead with a napkin, and jumped down. The ‘Double Yolk Egg’ Grandpas had moved their chairs and table to be in the shade and were playing Go. One of them said: “The one living on the fifth floor chased the other upstairs. Did they have an argument?” “Had an argument.”
“What did they argue about? Tell us about it.” “Right, they don’t even tell us.”
Cunqu had never been athletic, and after chasing Qiuyan up the stairs, he leaned against the doorway, panting. He grabbed the sleeve of Qiuyan’s sweatshirt and said through his breaths: “If you run a few more steps, I’m about to have a sudden death.”
This was the first time Qiuyan faced Cunqu with a cold expression. He didn’t reply to him. Cunqu swung Qiuyan’s sleeve and said: “Pour a glass of water for me.”
Qiuyan, with a cold expression, poured him a glass of water and, still with a cold expression, walked over and handed it to Cunqu. Cunqu drank half the glass of water and leaned against the wall. He hooked Qiuyan’s finger and asked: “You really won’t talk to me?”
Cunqu embraced Qiuyan’s waist and pressed himself against him. His heart was still beating extremely fast. Cunqu, still a bit breathy, bit Qiuyan’s chin and lightly said: “Sorry. I’m sorry, Dudu.”
Qiuyan grumbled: “So why did you lie?”
Cunqu held his face and said: “I’m sorry. I was outside to wrap up some matters. The person beside me was a real estate agent.” Cunqu kissed Qiuyan’s nose. Qiuyan asked: “Why do you need a real estate agent?”
Cunqu didn’t reply and leaned in to kiss Qiuyan’s mouth. Qiuyan ducked to the side and scolded: “You’re trying to avoid answering.”
Cunqu slid his hands underneath Qiuyan’s sweatshirt and stroked his waist. Qiuyan shivered and was just about to say something when Cunqu kissed him on the lips.
When Xuemei arrived upstairs, she saw the fifth-floor door cracked open. Qiuyan had pressed Cunqu against the wall and was kissing him. Cunqu slipped his tongue inside to wrap around Qiuyan’s tongue. The two of them kissed as if they were fighting. After a while, they stopped. Qiuyan zoned out briefly and mumbled: “Wait, something isn’t right. What were we just talking about?”
Cunqu couldn’t help but laugh out loud. He patted his cheeks and asked: “Let’s go out for dinner, ok? Shi Shiyuan recommended a vegetarian restaurant to me.”
Qiuyan mumbled something as he turned to look outside the door. His eyes were suddenly blown wide open, and he instinctively shut the door closed.
-> Chapter 26
Footnotes
[1] 小(Xiao)心(Xin). It means “be careful,” but because it also literally means “little heart” it’s also a fitting nickname. [2]  He’s referring to Qiuyan’s mom Qiu Xuemei lol. Calling her his 干妈 which means adoptive/godmother is probably because their relationship is pretty similar to mother-son given how he grew up so closely with Qiuyan.

When you ask them to hold your drink (Shota men supremacy).
Synopsis: Headcanons for all of the short Genshin men holding your drink. (Pure fluffy goodness cause they're crushing on you).
Disclaimer: Kind of gender neutral.. cause no pronouns.. but it's implied at least once that reader is a women.
Xiao
☆ Immediately confused as to why you need someone to hold your drink while you go to the bathroom.
☆ He honestly just stares at the liquid blankly.
☆ He thinks about just placing it on the table next to him. That is until someone approaches him offering to hold it in his place.
☆ Now he's got a hand over the brim and the dirtiest look he can muster going until the creeper waltzes away.
☆ Tells you not to leave your drink with him again but if you give it to someone else to hold he'll just stare daggers through their skull.
☆ Bonus points if they do something to it and he sees. He'll yank the cup right out of your hands when you return.
☆ Doesn't explain what he saw but he does advise that you cut ties with that person and keeps them away from you the rest of the night.
Aether
☆ He's holding four different girls drinks (One of which belongs to his sister.)
☆ He just had to agree to be the designated driver.
☆ He's way too sweet to tell you no when you ask though. Especially since you'll be right back after all.
☆ The one time where passing a drink off to someone that approaches would make sense but the only way he'll do so is if they're his best friend and they promise to stand by his side the whole time.
☆ Your drink most likely comes back to you looking better than when you gave it up. (Don't ask how that makes sense)
☆ Offers you a ride home with him and his sister as soon as your drink is back in your possession.
Venti
☆ When you approach him he's basically already sloshed but he takes your drink anyway.
☆ He gets weirdly quiet and stares into it longingly for way too long.
☆ Definitely causes a scene the moment someone implies they can hold it if Venti's too wasted to do so. (Friend or not).
☆ And yeah he splashes the liquid around a lot but he surprisingly doesn't take a sip.
☆ He immediately assures you that you can leave your drink with him again anytime. Like strongly states it with a cute little sloppy grin.
☆ Don't you dare give your drink to someone else later. He will complain about it the rest of the night to anyone within earshot.
☆ Most likely poor Zhongli.
☆ Ends up getting Zhongli to offer you a ride home just so he can sit in the back and drunkenly flirt with you.
Kazuha
☆ Literally no one is going to approach him asking for your drink. He is the everyone knows him / He knows everybody guy.
☆ Even if he isn't approached at all while your drink is in his possession he still keeps his hand over it the whole time.
☆ Smiles so purely when you come to retrieve it and even tries to keep up a conversation with you.
☆ Makes sure you know that he can offer you a ride home at any point during the night.
☆ Quite literally the perfect person to give your drink to.
Heizou
☆ All you do is approach him and hold your drink out and he's like, take as much time as you need I'll be here.
☆ He's already scoped out the layout of the venue in which the party is being held so he's also doubly warning certain women of who to stay away from.
☆ Also places his hand over the brim of your drink.
☆ He's actually pretty hard to find when you come back for your drink but he definitely protected it.
☆ If you give your drink to someone else next time he won't be offended but if they're not watching it properly he'll notify you when he can.
☆ We stan protective Heizou 🥺
Albedo
☆ Can and will pour your drink out if he's decided you've had too much already.
☆ Though if he does decide to hold it, he either stands far far away from everyone else in the room or in a group of his close friends.
☆ Offers to walk or drive you home the second you return since he's also the designated driver.
☆ If you give your drink to someone else and they do something to it he will drag you out of that party the minute he finds you again.
☆ Most likely took everything in him not to kick that person's teeth in.
☆ Explains the entire situation to you as soon as he gets you alone and strongly advises that you delete their number and never contact them again.
☆ To be honest he probably stands over your shoulder and watches as you delete them from your socials and phone entirely.
Tighnari
☆ Let's be clear: He did not want to be at this party at all. Like nothing made him think this was worth it.
☆ Till he sees you and you slide your drink into his hands.
☆ Gets so adorably grinny cause how could he not, you trusted him with this.
☆ Might also pour your drink out if he thinks you're too wasted. Then comes up with the worst excuse for where it disappeared to because he can because you're so stupidly drunk you'll believe anything.
☆ A falcon flew in through the window and snatched it clean out of my hands then just took off right after, no I'm not kidding it was huge!
☆ Probably says it just to see if you'll buy it. Then chuckles because god you're tugging at his heart strings with your adorable pout and slurring words.
☆ If literally anyone tries to flirt with you he's wedging himself in between you two and taking you home.
☆ A beautiful excuse for him to leave and a beautiful excuse to be alone with you. Even if you definitely won't remember in the morning.
Gorou
☆ Probably approaches you to offer to hold your drink. Also makes sure to tell you that he's available at any time while he's at this party to hold your drink.
☆ Legit turns his entire body away from anyone who offers to take it from him. Simply saying, It's just a drink I'm perfectly capable of hanging onto it. While he waves them off.
☆ Don't you dare give your drink to someone other than him part two: Cause he will stand there looking like a kicked puppy for hours.
☆ If you look too drunk to even be able to stand he'll pay for you to get a lift home and then ride in the car with you and walk you to your door.
☆ Depending on how comfortable he is with you he might also open your front door, put you to bed and set aside some water and pills for you.
☆ Legitimately the goodiest boy.
Scarmouche
☆ Deadass tells you no when you ask, you have to beg him to hold it.
☆ Pours your drink out if you're an overly drunk mess: part three. Except he's honest and tells you, you don't deserve anymore.
☆ And now that you've given him your drink this one time don't you dare give it to someone else next time.
☆ Cause the second he sees them put something in it he's punching their face in.
☆ Carries you out of the party like an abusive boyfriend. (Over his shoulder).
☆ The second he gets you to your place he tries to get every shred of information out of you about that person and what your relationship is to them.
☆ If you're too out of it he'll leave you a note telling you when he'll be back the next day to make sure you've deleted their contact information.
☆ Legit tells you the next day when you're suffering with a hangover that you're an idiot when you're drunk and that you're lucky he was there.
☆ Otherwise known as: don't scare me like that ever again in Scarmouche language.
Cyno
☆ Says he'll hold it for you. Immediately pours it into the nearest potted plant, sink, whatever if he deems you are drunk enough.
☆ Makes up three different stories of where your drink went when you get back. Each more fictitious sounding then the last while managing to keep the straightest expression. Until you stomp and start punching his chest.
☆ If you choose to stay at the party he'll walk around with you. Close enough that your conversations are within earshot and far enough away that you still feel like you're enjoying the party alone.
☆ Tells you he'll get the rest of your drinks for the night then fills your cup with water every single time. Then each time you get mad he'll promise he's bringing you booze only to return with more water.
☆ Partially because he thinks it's hilarious and partially because he enjoys that you keep falling for it.
☆ The second someone gets handsy with you he's got his keys out and is making up the quickest excuse to usher you out the front door.
☆ Makes sure he doesn't leave your side till you're in bed, pills, water and all at your dresser side.
☆ If you don't call him the next day to let him know you're alright you can bet he's calling you when he wakes up and you better answer or he just might come over.
