Cowards and Hypocrites

In addition to this post about HP fandom and JKR where I expressed my position that the principle of “an eye for an eye” does not work and only leads to more hatred and violence.

I have received many "interesting" comments advocating that in the fight against hatred all means are acceptable. But the last ones were actually funny.

You won't find these comments under that post because @xetlretl deleted them and blocked me after I saw his header and replied to him with just one question:

"The gif in your header illustrates your position perfectly". Doesn't it?

These guys are not defenders of anyone or anything. They are bullies. They will fight only until you point out their hypocrisy, and then they will show their cowardice.

Be better.

@xetlretl oh please fucking spare me lmfao, yall didn’t give a shit until it was your white gay fave that got this treatment, you were still watching after wells was murdered four episodes in despite having been a major main character in the books the show as based on same as everyone else so you really don’t have a goddamn leg to stand on. when lincoln was brutally executed the response was ‘leave us alone we’re still grieving’ and don’t even try to pretend like some of you weren’t clinging to the vain hope that lexa would be brought back some day, clexa fandom was just as insufferable through season 4 and probably later as it ever was, so no, the ‘rest of you’ didn’t wanna boycott, you paid lipservice to it but still kept up with the show bc you were hoping for some closure

the people who stuck it out for other characters and had other breaking points maybe should’ve seen the writing on the wall, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a right to be furious and frustrated bc they thought there was still a point to everything thee characters had gone through. that maybe they’d get decent closure and at least have something to show for the years they put in, especially the ones who were sticking it out for the few remaining nonwhite characters who might at least have decent send-offs when all was said and done.

so, yeah, the fact that lexa stans are celebrating yet another moc getting brutally murdered on screen is fucking racist and disgusting, and no they didn’t ‘have it coming’ just bc they were sticking it out longer and hoping that at least the main&central characters would be given decent endings&closure.

Cassandra Cain: DC. It was hard to choose just one DC character, but she's my girl. When I think of her, I think of redemption and love and sacrifice and aiming to be perfect even if you destroy yourself in the process. I could write essays about her, don't tempt me.

Samwise Gamgee: Lord of the Rings. How do you hold on to hope when the world is burning? How do you believe that there's good, and that it's worth fighting for? How do you love despite everything? By being Samwise Gamgee, that's how.

Billie Lurk: Dishonored. Another character carrying the weight of her guilt on her back (I love those), but also the weight of being a complete badass (I also love those).

Hadrian Blackwater: Riyria Revelations. He's a gentle giant. A man capable of infinite kindness, but who also has a big sword and knows how to use it. Ah, he's also a thief. What more could you want?

Viktor: Arcane. A self-isolated dreamer, a hurt idealist, a man in love with knowledge and at war with his own body.... let's just say I relate to him way too much.

Sophie Hatter: Howl's Moving Castle. I love movie Sophie and I love book Sophie. She gets to find her place and her confidence while calling others (mostly Howl) on their bullshit. A true hero.

Inej Ghafa: Six of Crows. I want to see her burn the world and get revenge on everyone who hurt her, but I also want to see her free and smiling and demanding the love she deserves.

Leon S. Kennedy: Resident Evil. Watch this poor guy kill zombies for the millionth time and solve ridiculous puzzles while delivering the corniest one-liners. He needs vacations and therapy.

Nathan Drake: Uncharted. Mister Cognitive Dissonance. He's a nerd, he's a thief, he'll say "oh crap" and tell funny jokes while murdering hundreds of mercenaries.

Kaladin Stormblessed: The Stormlight Archive. There's something about having a character who's lost everything and who's given up, but then decides to fight against all odds with tooth and nail for the sake of others just to realize "Hey, I'm fighting for myself as well."

My dogs: their existence in enough to brighten all my days

Music: I love when I have time to spend the morning listening to music (and actively do it, not just having it as background) 

The birds that sing and hang out outside my window: the perks of living outside the city

Cookies and tea: today I woke up in a lot of pain and I really didn’t feel like eating anything, but having some cookies and tea really made a difference. I even felt like writing a few lines!

An unexpected friend: you never know who’s going to end up meaning more to you than you first expected, and who’s going to show you kindness when you need it the most
