A Sword for Valentine’s Day

From my pommel to my point

This sword is yours.

You'll find me sharp and light

And just flexible enough

To fend off any attack

From any ne’er-do-wells or fuckwads.

You’ll find me well-balanced,

Full-tanged,

Suited to your hands,

But not too orante -

No decorative, ceremonial weapon, I –

Oh but you make me dance in swordplay,

With a grace that I alone cannot muster.

I'll be your sabre, cutlass, rapier, foil;

I'll be your broadsword, scimitar, katana;

You'll find me tailored to whatever use

You deem me worthy of.

So engarde -

Wield me, brandish me

Fence with me, duel with me;

I was made for you to thrust and swing,

Slash and stab and hack;

Swing me swiftly,

Your fingers around my grip,

Hard against my hilt.

And when we have battled our last,

Hone me, oil my blade,

Sheath me in your scabbard,

Let me slumber at your hip

Until you call me forth

To do my duty

For you once again.

The warmth of my lips

The pressure of my teeth

Upon your flesh,

And O the glorious

Taste of you

Lingering on my tongue.

Inhaling deeply

And savoring

The tart sting of you.

Kissing every bruise.

Sweetness and wet

Mingling on my face,

Dripping from my chin;

My appetite delighted.

And in my devouring

Deep down to your core,

Where your seeds await,

Your sighs and moans

Feed me as well.

O I could feast

On an orchard of you.
